Pub
The Armoury is a charming riverside gastropub with an imposing, historic feel and a stylish, eclectic menu. The interior features exposed brick walls adorned with bookshelves, offering a cozy atmosphere for families and solo diners alike. With its open fires and large windows overlooking the river, it's the perfect spot to enjoy fresh food, cask ales, and wine.
We arrived early as we had to leave the AirBnB by 11, but they were happy to show us to our table and leave luggage piled up whilst wandering around the quarry. As we just wanted a snack, we got three mains between us (Lamb shoulder, roasted duck leg and battered fish n chips) which everyone enjoyed - lovely rich gravy with the first two! All around wonderful relaxed service - would heartily recommend!

Great place! Food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I think this place is really good value. The ambience is great as well, love the decor.

The outside seating was great! Food was amazing too. Really friendly and helpful staff couldn't have asked for more

Friendly service, but the only vegan option was pretty poor, the tagine was good, the broccoli too although that was a little cold. It was the couscous, no flavour and it’s simply awful, fortunately I mixed most of it with the tagine which had a nice flavour. The white sauce on the side was a bit of a nothing slightly coconut tasting sauce, added nothing. Had some chips on the side and these were good. There was no vegan desert option, well there was that frozen fruit nonsense but how is that a desert? went to Flora Lounge for chocolate and raspberry torte, they had two vegan desert options. The website which we looked at in the morning boasted of a proper main and desert, none were available as it was a Sunday and their Web had not updated. A meat eating friend had a hair in it, which was dealt with ok, it was odd that the guy asked “do you want me to get you a fresh one” which is off phrasing when dealing with a customer complaint, but the older chap came over and apologised profusely, so not bad customer service on that. But it’s the lack of vegan options which is why we won’t be coming back for food, do yourself a favour, bin the couscous. May come back for drinks though as it’s a nice enough place otherwise.

Excellent as Always, one of the reason's we keep on coming back! There was a group of 4 of us and we had a fab meal last night, with prompt service, Excellent food, all served by a lovely, friendly, pleasant young waitress. There's always a great atmosphere here too.
Angela C — Google review
We had booked a table for two on a Friday night. It was busy when we arrived at 8pm but seated promptly. No problem catering for lactose intolerance. Delighted with our lovely server who was very attentive despite a full restaurant. The food was exceptional. I had the crispy beef salad. My daughter had a mushroom, red pepper and haloumi burger. We had desserts and a bottle of wine. At £80 I thought it was good value.
Sarah M — Google review
A lovely location overlooking the river. The cauliflower & blue cheese soup was delish!
Oona O — Google review
Was not very impressed with the quality and quantity of the children chicken goujons. Since when has a child's meal consisted of just 2 tiny goujons? It was pitiful for an upmarket pub/restaurant. The fish was over cooked and chips were lukewarm. Dessert was very small. Clearly a business making cutbacks at the expense of the customer! Very disappointing Brunning Price. You need to up your game to win us back.

Pub
The Dog & Pheasant is a beloved community pub in Shrewsbury that warmly welcomes both locals and visitors, including furry friends. Nestled in an early Victorian neighborhood near the River Severn, this traditional pub offers a selection of beers and up to four ales from the Marstons range. It's known for its friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, and as a social hub where patrons can enjoy good company.
Tucked away from the bustling main streets, this pub delivers everything you’d hope for in a back street boozer: a warm, no-frills atmosphere, excellent pints, and genuine community pub. It has a dartboard, dominoes and lots of board games! The beer selection is top-notch, often featuring local ales and a well-poured Guinness. What truly sets it apart is the clientele: a mix of friendly locals and curious wanderers, all enjoying the unpretentious vibe. The staff are welcoming and know their regulars by name, making it feel like you’ve walked into an old friend’s house. Bonus points as there’s an open fire or a jukebox in the corner. Perfect for those seeking a proper pub experience.
Georgina K — Google review
What a fantastic little pub. We ventured a minute off the riverside walk with a dog and baby in tow, and were so glad we did. The staff and locals were beyond friendly and accommodating, and there were a great selection of real ales. Proper pubs are so hard to find these days so we will definitely be returning!
Emily L — Google review
Nice friendly pub tucked away on a quiet street. Good beer amazing atmosphere
M S — Google review
We traveled around the world just to find a proper pub and boy did we ever!! We spent many a day/night sitting around with Kev & Angie. There is nothing like the Dog & Pheasant in Michigan. It’s one of the last proper pubs with outstanding management that is active in raising money for local charities. Games are plenty, music is available and darts & dominoes are a weekly event. This is the best pub in Shrewsbury, and I wager it rivals any pub in the UK.
Ben W — Google review
Found by happy accident during riverside walk. A wonderful ‘proper’ neighbourhood pub, sadly a threatened species. Friendly welcome from staff & locals, excellent beer, very relaxed. I wish I lived nearer but I will return. Well done to those in charge, you’re doing important work 👏
Nigel B — Google review
What a great pub! It was the first pub we came across at the end of a 10 mile walk along the River Severn, and we are so glad it was. A very friendly welcome from the great bar staff, and a good selection of beers. My iPhone had run out of battery, and the staff very kindly lent me a charger to get back on line. We got chatting to the friendly locals, and as result instead of stopping for a pint we stopped somewhat longer. A great place with lovely interesting people - a traditional pub in every sense.

Just went for dinner, no accommodation. Service was great. Waiting staff for nice and professional and friendly. Food was absolutely divine, with a varied meat free menu as well as the meaty options. I had the vegan Thai green curry. It was delicious! Lots of vegetables, very well made. Hungry thinking about it

We were a party of 8.we had gone for Sunday lunch. What a disappointment throughout. To start one of the beers was off, they offered to replace it but it never came, eventually our friend got up and asked for it. We were left sometime to decide what we wanted, we finally ordered, then 10 mins later were told one of the items was not on offer. Finally the main meal turned up the plates and meat was cold but the vegetables arrived in separate dishes and were extremely hot! When we mentioned the meat was cold the waitress said she would get some grave to warm it up!! Now to dessert one couple ordered the same pudding but when it came they were different. Some of us ordered the Lemon Curd Meringue, when it came there was no lemon curd, so they went in the kitchen and bought out small paper cups with some lemon curd in to address the problem ourselves. This was the most appalling meal we have ever had there was a £30 service charge added which were quick to get removed and because I complained they removed the cost of the puddings. Good gesture but quite frankly too late. None of our party will be going back or recommending. Such a shame, used to be a great place to eat.
Maxine M — Google review
Came today with family as we had a gift voucher to use. We have never visited before. The decor was nice and bright and a very clean dining area. The food was lovely, good portion size (the pavlova is huge!) and went down well. The staff were delightful and polite the whole visit. However, the space within the dining area was quite cramped. A couple of members had to shuffle their seats to let people past, and if you have a pram or walking device with you, you may struggle to get through. Also, service was very slow. We waited quite a while to get served and to recieve our food, even with the restaurant not being particularly busy. We had a great time with our party and enjoyed the food, but it wouldn't be first choice to revisit unfortunately.
Gemma B — Google review
We had an amazing dinner on a busy Saturday night. I had the belly pork which was outstanding. The service was great, all the staff were very attentive and personable, our food was served very quickly and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Just great!

Eaten and drank here a few times recently and it was a brilliant experience every time. Food is amazing and the menu always has something for everyone. Staff are beyond lovely, attentive and extremely efficient. Top-level ambiance. Excellent taps of beer, and great alcohol free choices (alcohol free cava, beer, mocktails - you name it and they probably have an option for you.) Everything is reasonably priced, from the food to the cocktails.
Hollie M — Google review
What a restaurant! We ate here on Monday and it was some of the best food we’ve had in a while. Usually we don’t get our hopes up for a new recommendation, but this place exceeded expectations through the roof! The service was incredible, Molly sorted us right out. Making sure we had our drinks when we wanted them, and the other lady on the bar made fabulous cocktails! Molly attended to us with care - favourite server ever! And to top it all off, Daniel who greeted us and took us to our table was a great help. The choices on Loopy Shrew’s menu were initiative and flavoursome, holding to their expectations. Extra credit for the different choices on a the plant based menu compared to the standard ‘five bean chilli’ option. We would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a sophisticated night out :)
India C — Google review
Stopped off here for a drink and the loo, nice seating out front in the sun. Staff were very nice, our drinks were spot on too. Nice to just chill in the sun and watching folks pass by. Yes they have toilets. This was the first coffee shop we’d spotted where we could sit outside with our dogs as we walked from the beautiful St Chads church (which is worth a quick visit) and the park (wow the Dingle garden !) Give the Loopy Shrew a visit - good service counts for everything.
Ian M — Google review
Booked this as part of a river cruise and afternoon tea deal through Sabrina River Cruises. If I’m honest, the service wasn’t the best and rather slow. The bread was dry and quite hard consistent with the sandwiches being made some hours before and not being covered. Atmosphere was good but neither myself or my wife were impressed with the food and wouldn’t return

The Old Post Office in Shrewsbury offers traditional accommodations with modest guestrooms and a classic pub serving complimentary breakfast. The hotel's central location allows for easy access to nearby attractions such as Henry Tudor House, St Alkmond's Church, and the Old Market Hall. Guests can enjoy karaoke and free Wi-Fi during their stay. Additionally, the hotel features a restaurant and bar where visitors can unwind after a day of exploring the charming town of Shrewsbury.
This place is kind of tucked out of the way so you will need to search for it. We stumbled upon by accident and I am so glad that we did. I have been here twice now and will return if I am ever shopping in Shrewsbury and wanting lunch. You should really try their posh fish finger sandwich. It is reasonably filling without being too much but very reasonably priced. But what you get is not fish fingers hence why it is posh. You get a fillet of fish wrapped in delicious fluffy light batter and surrounded by door stop bread. Home cooked chips accompany the sandwich with a side salad too. We all had the same and all said it was pure value for money and delicious. I have also tried their burgers which are equally as nice but on this occasion I was especially hungry and foolishly ordered an extra portion of chips. Very delicious but already came with ample chips on the plate. Staff are friendly and the food came out quickly. This place also has a reasonable choice of ales although we opted for soft drinks. It is well worth a visit!!!
Matt K — Google review
Came and visited on Saturday evening, very pleasant staff and they allow dogs so extra stars for that reason, also have deals such as 2 for £20 meal options, reasonable prices for drinks. Came back later in evening after having food elsewhere, and there was a band on start 9PM, and our dog was still allowed in and happily enjoyed the provided dog treats, ha ha. We hope to come again in future to try a meal from the restaurant. Thanks to the easy going staff and making our experience stress free.
Jasmine E — Google review
Excellent from start to finish, the young chap who checked us in was informative and friendly, he gave us all the info needed for our stay on a sheet of paper and showed us the directions to the accommodation, which was refreshing, nice room (room 2) which was spotless with attention to detail, excellent mattress, very quiet in the room we slept like a logs. Breakfast was outstanding, quality ingredients and well cooked and hot 🔥 (im a chef)! Wendy was professional friendly helpful and cheerful, and she made our check out simple, she's a great asset to the buisness. Keep up the good work guys, it seems you all work hard to give the customers the best service and it shows, we will be back very soon.

Found this place by accident, looking for somewhere that served more than sandwiches etc at lunchtime. Super helpful bar staff, and 2 meals + 2 drinks for under £30! OH had the fish and chips, and I had the pork belly with mash and veg, which was excellent and well seasoned. Highly recommend

I booked a table at old post office as I find town pubs not very good for food .Well. when I viewed menu I was pleasantly surprised with not just prices .the selection was lovely .I had slowed cooked belly pork on a bed of black pudding mash and a gravy that was so delicious I was tempted to lick my plate. The chef you can tell loves to cook as was the best food I've tasted in a long time .and the staff lovely very nice service was fast, food fresh and will definitely be my go to for meals out again
Rachel O — Google review
First time staying and didn't disappoint big room bed could have been a bit softer but we still slept well, great location staff sooo friendly, really lovely 😀 👏😉 ❤️
Vicky W — Google review
Horrendous! Went there for my pre-wedding meal and the service was awful. We asked for doggie bags to take our food home, and were told that we could not take any white meat home, which was fair enough. They then said we couldn't take it ourselves which we were going to do. The waiter then came up to me and demanded I give him the serviettes. Then said I was not allowed to put any of the food I'd paid in my bag, they refused to give us doggy bags. Terrible attitude and ruined the whole meal. We will never go there again. Ruin the pre-wedding meal

They're getting 5stars easily because of their efforts to make this place amazing. Great location 2mins walk from train station. Super cool staff and great quick service even they were very busy. What I enjoyed the most is fresh coffee and awesome atmosphere. They make this place very cosy and make you feel at home. Very well seatings, clean and tidy and that's all customers need. Surely coming back again and highly recommend.

I had a very long and tiring work trip from London to Shrewsbury today, with a 5am start, and it was entirely worth it for the BLT at this place. I have never eaten a better sandwich in my life. Utterly sublime bread (which I believe is from the baker down the road). Freshly cooked hot crispy bacon. Juicy tomatoes, perfectly seasoned. Lettuce that had been DRESSED which makes all the difference. The perfect amount of mayo. Served with a perfect iced coffee. Incredibly friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere to boot? I am genuinely sad I live so far away, or I would be here all the time.
Carolina C — Google review
I thought the food and drink was nice in this cafe but it was very cold inside it. The drinks were also very expensive. It was £10.50 for cereal and a mocha. The prices weren't clear that there was an extra charge for eating in rather than for taking away (I thought the price difference was for a larger drink).

Beautiful decor and friendly staff. Were offered options of vegan and gluten free menus immediately upon entering. Ordered tapas and it came beautifully presented. Overall the meal tasted amazing. Lots of different options for seating and the overall atmosphere was inviting and comfortable! Would definitely come again!

We had such a lovely experience in Floro Lounge. We visited for brunch, after finishing my daughters ballet class on her birthday. The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly. I had the Miama Brunch, which was lovely and cooked really well. My husband and daughter were pleased with their dishes. We had mentioned to the lady serving us that it was our daughters birthday ... and as we left the staff gave our daughter a gift and card and all the staff went out of the way to say happy birthday to her. We were already pleased with our visit, but this additional touch really made my daughters day. Thank you to the staff, who added extra sparkle to my daughters 3rd birthday

Favourite brunch place in Shrewsbury. Really handy to be able to order from the table using your phone. Friendly and fast service. Food is always lovely and menu is extensive! Great place with kids also.
Catherine P — Google review
Not been in this lounge before but have been in many others so understand the concept etc. When we arrived it didn’t seem to be overly busy and sat down at a table no issues. Drinks and food ordered and everything seemed to take awhile for them to come with drinks over 15 mins and the tapas food we had ordered was over 25 mins. Some of the tapas though were not hot and only lukewarm. The food though was good and plentiful (except the onion rings which seemed tight with only 4!) If they can serve the food hot then this would have been a 5 - room for improvement!
Christian E — Google review
Superb vegan burger, just like the real thing so if you’re not a fan of fake meat then it’s not for you. The deserts are amazing the chocolate and raspberry Tortellini is rich with a splendid texture. The other vegan option, the carrot cake also dominates in flavour.

Worst Customer Service Experience in Shrewsbury I haven’t left any negative reviews yet, but my visit to Floro Lounge was so disappointing that I feel compelled to share. The place looks amazing — warm, cozy, and beautifully designed — but the customer service was by far the worst I’ve encountered in Shrewsbury. The staff were completely inattentive. The space itself is quite large, and it quickly became clear that it’s too big for the number of staff working. I tried multiple times to get someone’s attention to place an order, but was consistently ignored. It wasn’t even that the staff were too busy — they just didn’t seem to care. What could have been a great dining experience turned into a frustrating waste of time. I waited far too long, felt completely uncomfortable, and eventually gave up and left. There’s nothing cozy about being overlooked and ignored. Extremely disappointing.

Absolutely Fantastic! Walked in for a quick coffee and served with a smile, menu looked great. We visited again for Dinner, allowed to take in Balloons, Cake etc, nothing was a problem. All staff very welcoming and friendly. The menu has many different options of delicious foods and drinks. The prices are exceptionally affordable and won’t break the bank! We tried the Tapas, Cowboy Smash Burger and Chicken dish, all very tasty and well presented. Great vibe, chilled and welcoming for families, couples on date nights and pre drinks. Lovely decor and very clean. Great idea to use QR code to order and pay, you can keep an eye on what you’re spending. The staff are more than happy to help you or serve you at the bar. Definitely will return for a drink or a meal. Fabulous! 10/10!

CSONS is a cozy spot in Ludlow known for its breakfast and lunch offerings made with local ingredients. The restaurant has received high praise, particularly for its vegetarian options. With a focus on using locally sourced produce, CSONS offers a diverse menu that includes globally inspired dishes and tantalizing burgers served on handmade milk buns. The restaurant's commitment to quality and creativity shines through in their seasonal menu updates.
A very enjoyable experience! Whilst we have dined st CSONS on a previous occasion, which was perfectly fine, today's lunch was memorable for all the right reasons. A warm and friendly welcome preceeded a wonderfully cooked and presented series of dishes that our small dining party thoroughly enjoyed. Particular highlights were the pork belly, arancini and steak mains. We shall return.

A fantastic restaurant that serves stunning food. We booked a table for 2, for the four of us, and we had the dogs, which were welcomed and looked after. The food is unusual and makes the best use of seasonal items and local produce. Dishes are available in small plate and large plate options, with a great selection of mains and side dishes. We ordered 2 x small plates, 1 x main chicken shawarma and the main version of curry goat. Every dish was delicious and had a slight twist on what you’d expect. Beers were also excellent, as was the top notch cheesecake. Staff were friendly and welcoming and made for an enjoyable experience.

Beautiful setting, delicious breakfast. Great coffee. I liked that you get fresh cold tap water. Lovely atmosphere for a Sunday morning at 10am. We were served straight away. A big difference in servers from super attentive and enthusiastic to a totally disinterested server. Toilets were very clean. Reasonable prices too.

Have eaten here at least a dozen times, likely more, mostly breakfast. Great service, and generally excellent and tasty food. Coffee is good. Charging for sauces, which are a little odd (brown sauce far too sweet, and avoid the tomato/beetroot) is a bit much. Scrambled eggs, my go to, are always an oily and salty mess, poached are consistently good. Other than that good quality ingredients and well presented. Always happy to go back, but know what to order.

Excellent food ! If you want a tasty not too heavy meal this is the place. If you are very hungry and on the budget maybe not 😁.

What a shame, we liked the idea of the menu with ingredients locally sourced but food served wasn't great, table needed a good clean and there was dried old bits of food at the side of our table in the radiator cover which just looked vile, one waiter was really nice but the others seemed quite moody, food was expensive and not very impressive looked nice but that's about it, there may have been some cross contamination with my food as I have dairy intolerance and after the meal on way home I had alot of discomfort in my stomach. Maybe this was a bad day for them because they were busy.

Ginger & Co. Coffee Shop is a popular spot in Shrewsbury, known for its specialty coffee and homemade menu items using the finest local produce. The cafe offers a variety of hot drinks, cakes, and light bites, including options for vegans and those with gluten-free dietary needs. It's also dog-friendly and located on Princess Street. Visitors praise the generous portion sizes and delicious breakfast bowls.
Another high quality cafe with excellent food and drinks options. Yes we did have to wait a while for a table but that’s also the positive that the place is so popular. The food and drinks were beautifully presented and the staff helpful. Definitely worth a stop to try.

Nice little cafe with plenty of healthy and tasty food options. I went with the hot bowl on the specials board and it was the chickpea curry. It had a lovely warm spice to it with chunks of cauliflower and sweet potato. If it’s on the specials board I would recommend it! There’s also a selection of cakes on the counter. The lemon and blueberry blondie was deliciously tart with a soft sponge. It was very reasonably priced as well.

Went for breakfast, we had bacon butties and the kids had pancakes with Nutella and banana. I had an iced coffee and everyone else had a pot of tea. Staff friendly and helpful and a nice chilled out atmosphere. Food and drinks were delicious. And the place is dog friendly with free doggy biscuits 🐾. Well worth a visit

A Sunday morning in Shrewsbury, looking for a coffee and cake - we found Ginger and Co. It was busy with customers but we got seated promptly and the service was quick. They had a lovely selection of cakes, with about 5/6 GF or Vegan ones to choose from 👍 They were all in the same counter area, so I hope they used separate tongs for the GF ones… 😉 We had a Lemon and Blueberry Blondie and a Chocolate Brownie, both GF and delicious. I enjoyed a rich and tasty Americano while my wife had a coke with ice. The place has a pleasing rustic feel to it, from wooden decoration and counters, window painting to some hand-written menus on rolls of paper. A really enjoyable hour spent just relaxing…

A great place for breakfast! We had soooo much for our breakfast that honestly we skipped all our meals thereafter. We had hummus toast, avo toast, pancakes with Nutella and banana, beetroot coffee and peanut butter smoothie....Too too good! We were stuffed and chuffed! 😋😋

If you're coeliac and want something more than a baked potato then I highly recommend this cafe, even if you're not they have such fantastic and flavoursome options that you're going to be satisfied. I had a meal a cappuccino and a cake and have to say I really enjoyed my experience. The staff were really nice and very helpful Parking in Shrewsbury is not an issue and it's a short walk away. I will return for more

My visit to Ginger and Co Coffee Shop offered a blend of highs and lows. The wild mushroom toastie stole the show—absolutely incredible. The hot chocolate, though enjoyable, fell short of being amazing. The carrot cake, unfortunately, was a bit dull and unimpressive. The service was decent, but a hiccup occurred when one of the cakes was missing, prompting a trip to the counter for a reminder. Despite this, the overall atmosphere was pleasant. If you're a dog owner seeking a quick drink and cake, this place is pet-friendly and might suit your needs. In summary, Ginger and Co Coffee Shop has its highlights, particularly with the exceptional toastie, but there's room for improvement, especially in the variety and quality of the desserts.

We arrived not long after opening this morning- The welcoming friendly staff, the great coffee, stunning old building ( upstairs) and the breakfast were all absolutely great. Great vegetarian and vegan options for us. Well worth a visit. We’ll be back next time we’re in Shrewsbury

Had a full English, and it was as plentiful as it was delicious. I’ve never complemented a meal for their beans before but they packed the greatest flavor, and it paired well with the sausage and bacon. Great as takeaway for a picnic in the park. Fair prices for the quantity of food you receive.

Meeting up when th a friend in Shrewsbury, and looking for somewhere to catch up, enjoy and cuppa and do some stitching (crochet and knitting). Stumbled across this cafe, and it was perfect. Well spaced out tables, in a number of different rooms. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive, good delicious and lovely range of cakes to select from. We felt very welcome, and thoroughly enjoyed our crafty catch up. Will definitely come back when I'm next in Shrewsbury

OMG - The best Coronation Chicken Baguette I've had for many years. Utterly gorgeous. A homemade rustic baguette with plenty of character and seeds, nice crusty outer shell and soft inside. The Coronation Chicken itself is also homemade, combined with a sweet mango chutney - stunning. Only downside is, I live 80 miles away, so it's a bit too far to pop in every lunch. Next time we are passing though - 100%

We have been regulars here for over 5 years and we always love the amazing lunches. Their jacket potatoes in particular can’t be beaten!. Their paninis are delicious, especially the sesame bread. So many different drinks choices. Their cakes and tray bakes are all freshly made and yummy. The staff are always extremely friendly and greet you with a smile. If you like architecture then going and sitting in the main restaurant area upstairs is highly recommended as it’s a very old building with all original wood features which adds to the cosey atmosphere.

The Orchard Cafe is a lovely new cafe and function room located in the beautiful surroundings of Shrewsbury Cathedral, overlooking Town Walls. The cafe specialises in delicious freshly cooked food made by a fantastic chef - it's definitely worth visiting during a lunchtime!
My regular cafe after our bike rides. We always head back to The Orchard as the staff are so friendly, coffee is great and food is awesome 👏 Always seating for us and place to leave our bikes. The loyalty scheme means I get a feee coffee every now and then too which is great. Keep up the good work Sandra and team Orchard! 👍

Quite disappointed with the customer service. I bought my own lunch and just needed a small place to sit down and eat for 5,10 mins. The cafe was more or less empty and there was plenty of seating available. I had some people with the church and was told I could sit and eat in the cafe as the cafe is associated with the church too. The lady at the counter starting giving sarcastic remarks. "It's not a pub. You can't just bring your own beer and start drinking it". Like, this is not Weatherspoons or Toby Carvery. I ended up purchasing a Chai latte, but it was too sweet. Although it was fresh and all; you couldn't really drink it as it was too sweet. It costs £3.50.

I would not hesitate to recommend a visit.

Chez Sophie, also known as Sophies, is a beloved dog-friendly cafe located in the lively Mardol Head district of Shrewsbury. This charming French creperie-cafe-bar offers an array of delectable crepes, Belgian waffles, and shakes with original toppings. The friendly team at Chez Sophie warmly welcomes four-legged guests. Whether you have a penchant for sweet or savory flavors, this cozy spot has over 30 different topping combinations to satisfy all palates.
Really loved this place. I had a strawberry and banana crepe and my wife had a Nutella and marshmallow one, both with a scoop of ice cream and they were delicious. The coffee was really good too, I will definitely be back as I want to try the savoury crepes.

Popped in here while out shopping as needed some sustenance and energy inducing sugar… I was not disappointed ordered the baileys hot chocolate with the Nutella and banana waffle my daughters had the kinder bueno and a caramel one they were great…. The only thing I would say is the staff were not super friendly and when they delivered two of the dishes did not mention we would have to wait for the third …I got up to check when it hadn’t appeared after 5 minutes … just felt a simple “your order won’t be long “ “we can only cook two waffles at a time sorry about that” type comment with a smile would have been nice!
Emma H — Google review
An unusual little cafe, focused on freshly made crepes and waffles, but also coffee and beer too. Service is friendly and fairly speedy, and most of the menu is available to eat in or take away. There is a small amount of seating downstairs and more upstairs. The crepes are good, and there is a wide variety of toppings available but the prices could be seen as a little steep for what you get.

Me and my boyfriend stopped to have milkshakes as it was so hot and they were lovely!! Staff are friendly and the outside seating is perfect on a warm day. Worth a stop, next time I’ll definitely be trying a savoury crepe! The milkshakes below were the kinder bueno 😍😍 and a Cookie Monster.

Visited here today, lovely place to sit and relax whilst visiting the town. However, the workers themselves don’t really make you feel welcome. They’re also very stingy with the toppings if your having one of the sweet crepes. I opted for the kinder bueno, I bet there was probably less than 1 teaspoon of nutella sauce on it. In terms of toppings and what you get for the money, probably the worst one i’ve had.

This new café in Shrewsbury focuses on specialty coffee with careful preparation and a passion for what they do. Their all day breakfast and brunch menu features items such as healthy wraps and sandwiches, along with a variety of cakes. The coffee is always delicious, and their bowls of love are definitely recommended!
We stumbled upon Daily Brews whilst trying to avoid the usual chain coffee shops in Shrewsbury and it didn’t disappoint. We had a late breakfast here and it was really nice. The coffee is really good too. I’ve only put a 4 for the service as we stood at the counter quite a while before anyone acknowledged us although they were fairly busy. I would definitely recommend.
Jeni W — Google review
It is easy to avoid Daily Brews because it looks like a national chain from the outside, it is located in a prime commercial area, and indeed, it is right next door to the corporate giant, St*rb*cks. Amazingly, it turns out to be a superb, locally owned business (sister café to the nearby Peaberry's). Popping in for breakfast is delightful. Weather-permitting, you can don your shades and achieve the continental pose right in The Old Market Square. Otherwise, inside has many more tables than you would expect from the width of the frontage. Either way, you can people-watch, right in the heart of the centre of Shrewsbury's river loop. Of course, the Tourist Information Centre, museum, Old Market Hall Cinema, high-end shops, banks and other cafés and restaurants litter The Old Market Square. The menu is innovative with a lot of choice. Fellow porridge-addicts will love the banana, cinnamon and nut presentation, no matter of the spelling. Other light choices include the pancakes with a variety of sweet fillings and optional crispy bacon for those with American tendencies. Other breakfast choices are abundant, and of course, all bread these days comes in the sourdough variety. Great flavour, but you need a steak knife to tackle the crust. Of particular note is the Turkish Breakfast which is somewhat incredible. Squeaky, grilled halloumi, spicy beef sausage, Turkish cheese, a poached egg and much more. The Swiss Kiss jumps out at you, featuring two crisp, roti potatoes, bacon, avocado, poached eggs and cilantro lime crema. You can also choose from a complete line up of poached egg dishes plus the off-road, gluten-free option of Southwest Eggs Benedict. Poached free-range eggs (obviously), chorizo, jalapeno hollandaise sauce, and a toasted breakfast muffin. For the more traditional, there are three omelette offerings (two of which are veggie). The Spicy Garlic Sujuk Omelette is now on my bucket list. If you are seeking to kill time over a long tea or coffee, there is everything to choose from and a great selection of cake slices on display. The staff (including my favourite, like Beck, from recently deceased local cafés) clearly like their jobs and never perform as minimum-wage-robots. They greet you, ensure that the food and drink is to your liking, and they are a great source of local knowledge too. In fact, there is no need to visit to Tourist Information Centre across the square when you can simply ask the DB staff for relevant local data. The members of staff tend to be trained baristas, so you can expect a swirly drawing on the surface of your latte. Wi-Fi is free and easy. There is no tricky password to enter. In the style of Rock Café, Charles Darwin's original electric guitar is proudly mounted and displayed on an interior wall. According to the literature below the artifact, in his later years, Darwin became disillusioned with the futuristic sound produced by the instrument and decided instead to focus his spare time talent on the theremin. Darwin went on to compose a number of great works that can, surprisingly, still be found on the likes of YouTube (lookup 'Darwin's secret theremin compositions'). The most famous being, 'Descent', which was resampled and used to accompany the melody in the hit Beach Boys track, 'Good Vibrations'. I visited Daily Brews again today (September 2025) and was thoroughly impressed. Our waitress had joined the staff only earlier that day yet was fully up-to-speed. Also, the owner himself, Lee, was getting his hands dirty, taking orders and clearing tables. Considering the owner now has three establishments to oversee (Peaberry’s Café, Daily Brew, and now The Peach Tree), this was very admirable. As a group of six, we were also given complimentary baklavas (which were superb) by the man himself. Please don't go to St*rb*cks next door and feed your money into a chain that seeps upwards to an American billionaire. Invest in the local community by taking ten more steps to choose Daily Brews.

Had lunch here, they welcome dogs. We sat outside as it was a very nice sunny day. I had an omelette which came with sour dough toast and my wife had scrambled egg on same. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Taking our order not long after we’d sat. It’s a lovely spot by the ancient market hall building. The food was very good. Well worth a stop off. We got chatting to a lovely couple who lived in Shrewsbury having migrated from Lancs and were rightly very proud of everything it has to offer. It’s just over an hours drive from us, wish it was closer 🙂 Give the Daily Brews a try, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Great place for a coffee lover! There's a large selection of coffees, you can have the V 60 or Chemex drip brewed coffee or a funky latte like the beetroot, turmeric or the Canadian (maple syrup and cinnamon) one I really enjoyed. Glouglou Wine Bar & Shop, situated on Shrewsbury's Castle Gates, is a haven for organic wine enthusiasts. The establishment prides itself on sourcing bottles from producers with strong environmental and ethical practices, offering a selection of organic, biodynamic, and entirely natural wines. While it exudes an upmarket ambiance, it remains a welcoming spot for a casual drink or light meal in a delightful setting.

Lovely little wine bar, very relaxed and pleasant. On the expensive side, but it was nice to have a good choice of wine. The only thing that disappointed me was the service charge on the bill. I was told the total at the front desk, and I duly paid by phone before being given the receipt, which had a discretionary tip line on it. I wasn't in the mood to cause a fuss but it just felt a bit sneaky to me.

Glou Glou is my favourite wine bar! The service is brilliant and always happy to talk me through what wines to try and the staff are so helpful. I saw the Oyster Night advertised and I was worried I’d missed the chance to book in as they’d already sent off the orders. The Three Fishes Inn is a lovely old timber-framed building, with a cosy atmosphere thanks to the staff's furry friends. It's tucked away up a little side street and easy to miss, so be sure to check it out! There's scrummy pub food and some of the best kept ales in Shrewsbury all at very affordable prices, making it great for family ambles.
About 35 years ago we stayed in the next door Tudor Lodge B & B. No longer a B & B but this pub has hardly changed . Had a couple of excellent meals here over the years. Albrecht on his first visit took a pint of Butcombe bitter. A lovely one room pub that wraps round the bar. Lovely quiet street opposite the church. Very friendly service. Four resl ales and two ciders. Yet again in the CAMRS Good Beer Guide.
MADDOGLEP — Google review
Had a pint in the period on the run up until Christmas so there were a few more people in than normal, which I am assuming helped the atmosphere. This is a traditional old pub, no music, has its regulars, good staff. If this is your thing, its a good choice, its an old pub too. If you want a bit more life and energy, Shrewsbury has plenty of other options (and I'm not referring to clubs. There are plenty of pubs where you can enjoy a drink, chat but the atmosphere has more energy with a bit of music)

I was passing through Shrewsbury, and havent been to the town itself before when I came across The Wheatsheaf so stopped for a drink. Staff and customers could see I wasnt a local or from the area, meaning that when I stood at the end of the bar to be served, the staff served two other customers who walked straight in front of me. Very clicky vibe based on regular trade only, putting limitations on what could be a great town centre boozer.

Great selection of cocktails, well made and with good measures! Fantastic staff who are very attentive and deliver speedy table service and popcorn to keep you thirsty. Music, lighting and atmosphere were all spot on. Recommended!

Was out for drink with some long time friends last night , the music was questionable and the service was good but the drink garnish fell off as my glass was set down and it had to be remade , it wasn’t busy and this was a Saturday night. only stayed for one drink as £12 per drink is extortionate for a lack luster drink with a garnish that ruined the drink. The bar snacks listed on the menu weren’t even available even tho it stated that they were available come July. So sad this place has gone so downhill since its opening , not worth my time anymore.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. The venue is fantastic despite covid amendments, the service was great since for once we've spoken to people that know what they are talking about, the cocktails were fab, definitely recommended the godfather mistress. We'll soon be back.

Me and my partner came for the first time one a weekday evening after dinner. It was a lovely set up and the board games were scattered across tables. The drinks menu was so long there is something for everyone and we wanted to try them all. They are great quality hence the pricing. The theme is consistent and builds a great atmosphere. We spent a good couple of hours chatting and playing games. Only criticism is that it was a bit too dark for some of the games.

Shout out to the brunette bartender who looked like she was running it by herself, 10/10. Also made the BEST margs everrrrr (licking that salt). Luke, whose first shift it was, was the loveliest waiter in the world and couldn’t do enough. And to the other waitress (sorry didn’t get your name!) who studied law in Manchester, amazing service, couldn’t do enough. LOVE xxxxx

Tap and Can is a popular indie bar in Shrewsbury, conveniently located near the railway station. The bar offers a wide selection of craft beers with 14 rotating beer lines and over 100 cans to choose from. It's known for its lively and laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for an evening drink. The bar also features up to four changing cask ales sourced from breweries across the country.
Start from the location just next to train station and in the heart of this beautiful town. The second thing which make this place highlighted is amazing selection of craft beers from IPA to stout & sour. Third is awesome atmosphere which I really like. Good vibes and friendly approachable people in the bar. Specially I like the wall full of colour beer pump clips. Service was good and the prices were very pocket friendly. Hope after all these points I recommend it. Worth to visit

Always passed by this place when walking around and every night that I wanted to drop by it's packed. So went in earlier and enjoyed it. The beer was as expected, thry had different choices from ipa, stout, pale ale and etc and it was really good beer. Priced a bit high than usual but it was really goodbeer. Good ambiance and vibe but a bit cramped and can get crowded.

What a find! Slap bang in the middle of this lovely town, this bar has all your favourite craft beers and more. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff who gave advice and tasters to help me choose the best ipa for my appetite! Nice friendly atmosphere with a mixed crowd, some young, some a bit older like me. I felt relaxed and happy here. Definitely one to revisit when I next come to Shrewsbury! Thank you Tap & Can, you're awesome.

Spotted this micro bar close to the station when we arrived. Came back after 5pm opening with Albrecht. The bar is at the end of a long rectangular room. The four handpumps on our visit were from a micro brewery in Lower Peover ( honest..a real small village, we have s lovely walk starting here.) So Weekend Project brewery..I had the 3.4% Dinner Party...ok but for F sake, unfined cloudy soup is not nice, despite being a CAMRA 2024 Good Beer Guide pub. Clear the beer please.

Superb bar with a great cosmopolitan feel. Friendly knowledgeable staff enjoy sharing their experience and information in a down to earth unpretentious way. Whether it is their regular upmarket clientele or you've just walked straight in from the adjacent train station you are guaranteed a warm welcome. Excellent bespoke plates of food are prepared nearby and delivered from their sister establishment piping hot and delicious. Highly recommended

Excellent find. Great selection of ales, really busy, staff so welcoming. Would really recommend this cracking craft ale bar. Super dog friendly too, our girl Jett was so spoiled by the staff and customers alike. We need more bars like this.

The perfect bar to finish a day in town where you can drink your last pint then buy your 🚂 beers for the journey home. The Paradise Valley NEIPA was quality, the cans to drink in or take away with a 15% discount and plastic glass provided are at the top end of craft ales. A bar to drink in where you hope your 🚂 will be delayed❗️

Shrewsbury Prison, an 18th-century jail closed in 2013, offers visitors the opportunity to explore its empty cells and yard. The prison provides guided tours led by retired prison officers, allowing guests to delve into its intriguing history and experience interactive activities such as a prison-themed escape room. For those seeking a chilling experience, ghost tours are available to explore the dark past and mysterious atmosphere of the prison.
We had a great time at Shrewsbury Prison. We did the cell escape room and although we didn’t quite escape, it was still fun. After the escape room we were able to walk around and explore the prison. Having watched the BBC show “Time” which was filmed there it was very interesting to walk around. I was surprised at how much of the prison was open to see. Definitely worth a visit.

We visited the Shrewsbury Prison today and had a guided tour with Graham, I think it was. And we would thoroughly recommend it! Our tour was very informative and really interesting about prison life, and Grahams 30+ years service in the prison service. My 10 year old was part of the tour, and he gained a lot from it. So that age group is good for debating parents. All in all 5⭐️ a very good and interesting way to spend 2-3hours of your day.

HMP Shrewsbury, nicknamed "The Dana" after the original Dana Gaol on the site, is a fantastic Tourist attraction and insight into how Prison Life and conditions were. All the staff are wonderful and helpful. I went on a Self Guided tour on this occasion, although ghost and guided varieties exist if you wish. There are detailed and plentiful boards giving information about the rooms and topics surrounding that area of the facility. The only negative is the new chapel and Visitation was closed around the time of my visit, which I would have loved to see.

A fascinating and yet a sad place. Our guides were Malcolm and Alex who told us about the prison's history in an incredibly engaging way. The personal stories of Malcolm, who worked there for many years, are particularly captivating and moving.

Had a great time looking around the Historical Prison. Lots to see and good signage. Just wish we had time to do the guided tour!

A fascinating place , lovely to visit but must have been horrible to be in, with electricity , toilets and water in the cells only added in 1995. This was also 1 of 17 prisons that was allowed to carry out executions. Infoboards are scattered around the site , and are interesting if sparse. There are tours (1 a day) which would be better if you want to understand more. I managed a quick chat with a guide and an ex officer in the jail which was fascinating. There is a resturaunt on site and they do ghost tours in the evening if that's your thing.

Very interesting tour around the prison, Malcolm was our guide, very entertaining and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend if your in Shrewsbury easy to find, walking distance from the town and some parking directly opposite and some on prison grounds.

Attingham Park, located just east of Shrewsbury, is a stunning 18th-century country house estate with beautiful parkland and a large organic walled garden. The property offers behind-the-scenes views of ongoing restoration efforts and features Regency interiors, a deer park, and various collections including paintings, silver, and furniture. The two-acre walled garden is continuously being restored to its former glory and provides an array of sensory experiences throughout the seasons.
We went on a school trip. And it's a huge park. It's the best option for kids to go and explore nature and have fun. Especially with friends. There's a cafe and many washroom facilities. There are different activities for kids and a lot of places to run around. It was my first visit and I highly recommend it. It's so clean and well maintained.

Visited here today. Very interesting house and lovely gardens. All staff were lovely and friendly, especially a lady called Ann Heritage, I think she said her name was. She showed us around the painting room and we saw the painting in the conservation room. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and so easy to talk to. We enjoyed the talk about the painting upstairs. A lovely visit. We would recommend this place. Wear comfortable shoes.

A grand and impressive house, nestled amongst vast grounds. Choosing one of the walking routes is a must, as this is such a beautiful estate. We opted for the woodland & deer park routes & being enveloped by the autumn beauty was delightful. We were lucky enough to see the deer, when sat on a bench eating lunch, can't get better than that. The house is also a splendour, with gorgeous attention to detail in each room, which still houses original furnishings, etc. You can walk around at your leisure or join a guided tour. Should you be peckish, there is a lovely tea room in the old stables & as always, a shop & second-hand bookshop. We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Attingham, hope you do too.

Awesome place. The house itself is stunning but the grounds are beautiful. Tall trees in lush forests with a deer park you walk through. I was able to see them in a large group not far from me. Well worth a visit.

Simply stunning. We’ve visited many NT houses and parks recently and inside the house was the most impressive and interesting. One got a real sense of the families wealth and the plethora of interesting ‘exhibits’ on show. All the staff were knowledgeable and the front gate volunteers very welcoming. I would heartily recommend a few hours here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If I could give 10 stars, I absolutely would! I’ve visited Attingham Park many times, but this time truly stood out thanks to Les (at the entrance near the car park) and Matty, the amazing Café Team Leader. These two are the absolute definition of outstanding customer service. Starting with Les – what an incredible first impression she gives! From the moment I arrived, her friendly smile, welcoming tone, and great sense of humour made me feel instantly at ease. She’s got that wonderful Scottish charm that makes every interaction memorable — warm, genuine, and full of personality. You can tell she absolutely loves what she does, and it shines through in the way she greets everyone with such enthusiasm and kindness. She doesn’t just do her job; she makes people’s days better. Then there’s Matty, who is nothing short of a superstar in the café. You can see right away that he’s a natural leader — calm under pressure, organised, and always looking out for both his team and the customers. Even when the café is busy, he takes the time to check in, make sure everything is perfect, and serve everyone with a smile. The drinks were spot on, the food was fresh, and the whole atmosphere just felt relaxed and friendly. It’s clear that Matty sets the tone for his team, everyone works hard, but there’s laughter, teamwork, and pride in what they do. Together, Les and Matty made this visit one of the best experiences I’ve had at a National Trust site. They represent everything great about Attingham Park — friendly faces, genuine care, and an attention to detail that makes you feel valued as a guest. 10/10 – Les and Matty are a credit to Attingham Park and to the National Trust. People like them are the reason visitors keep coming back. 👏

We had an amazing time with family and friends at National Trust’s Altrincham Park, it truly feels like a hidden gem tucked away from the busy world. The grounds are stunning, offering miles of peaceful trails where you can walk, talk, and unwind surrounded by nature. Each route has something different to enjoy, from the beautifully kept walled gardens to the magical sight of deer roaming freely across the park. It’s a place that feels calm yet full of life, making it ideal whether you’re after a quiet stroll or a fun day out with loved ones. After exploring, the café is the perfect stop. They serve a good choice of hot dishes, sandwiches, and cakes, and while the prices are on the higher side, it’s worth it for the setting and the quality. We finished off our walk with tea and cake, which was the perfect end to the day. Dogs are welcome too, as long as they’re kept on a lead, so it’s a spot the whole family can enjoy. What makes Altrincham Park so special is that every visit feels different, whether it’s a new trail, seasonal changes in the gardens, or simply spotting the wildlife. It’s somewhere you can return to time and time again and always come away with a fresh experience.

The Peach Tree is a well-respected restaurant located in the historic heart of Shrewsbury, offering inventive fusion menus in a contemporary-styled decor. The restaurant is known for its traditional and European food, with special offers that provide great value. It's an inviting venue where visitors can enjoy delightful afternoon tea featuring handcrafted sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam, and homemade cakes. The Peach Tree is committed to using locally sourced ingredients to ensure high-quality dishes.
What a lovely spur of the moment lunch. Sat outside enjoying the sun, ordered our drinks which arrived promptly by Owen. Seating was comfy and at no time did we feel we needed to rush our decision for ordering or move on quickly after finishing our drinks and food. Owen felt a few spots of rain on the wind and asked if we wanted the over head awning wound out further…yes and carried out swiftly. Our table of four adults included a vegan. The vegan starter of hummus and olives was bursting with flavour and soon devoured. The mains vegan menu options was a little limiting, however, Owen co-ordinated with the kitchen to provide a wonderfully looking dish of food full of flavour which included tofu and Ramen noodles. The Korean pork and club Dan which were equally enjoyed. We had table service, Owen, whom was helpful, suggestive, clearly customers are truly valued and service with a smile. Meals were super value for money. Without hesitation, we will be returning.

Having had many excellent meals before, in The Peach Tree, we went here for lunch today. Despite arriving at 12.15, 30 minutes after breakfast service should have ended, the breakfast menu was all that was available. The initial waitress was terrible (others were better), and I wished we had left then. My breakfast was very average. 3 mushrooms, baked beans heated up a while ago. I asked where the "artisan bread" came from, and I was told what I suspected. A supermarket white sliced loaf! My partner's poached eggs were overcooked. We could have gone to Wetherspoons, and got a better breakfast for a fraction of the cost.

My husband and I recently enjoyed a mid-week date night at the Peach Tree and the whole experience was fantastic. We booked beforehand and were greeted warmly with the pleasant and attentive service continuing throughout the time we spent there. We opted for a main and a dessert, the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Following the meal, I think we've recommended the Peach Tree to anyone we've spoken to and we look forward to returning again soon. Thank you 😊

We booked an afternoon tea yesterday for my friends 30th birthday. When we arrived we stood by the door and were completely ignored. We went to the bar and was told someone would be with us shortly . About 10 mins later we were asked what we wanted and I said we had booked the afternoon tea. We were told to grab a couple of menus and go and pick a seat. We were confused about why we needed a menu because there wasn't an afternoon tea option on it. We waited for about 20 minutes (the room was absolutely freezing with the air con on) and saw the male waiter go and serve the table in the corner. (There was only that table and our table in the restaurant). He went and collected their drinks and said he would be with us shortly . A female came over wearing a hoodie and leggings and asked us what we would like. I said we had booked to come for an afternoon tea and she said "oh I haven't come to take yours" and went to the table in the corner. They told her they had already ordered and she then walked away, straight past us again. I asked her what was going on , she said "I haven't got a clue but I'll ask him". The male waiter came back and served the other table again, on the way back i asked him if he was going to see to us and he said he would check . He came back through and said the order had gone through to the kitchen. We weren't asked if we had any allergies etc. He then walked off and came back a short time after asking what drinks we wanted. A short time after that our food came, which was ok in fairness. We weren't offered any plates so had to use the saucer from the drinks. Nobody checked on us throughout to see if everything was OK with the food or if we wanted anything else. I feel we would have better service at mcdonalds . The peach tree used to have a great reputation but I feel it's gone massively down hill. The staff looked as though they had just been dragged in off the street if I'm being honest.

Enjoyable evening at The Grapes. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was decent - see below for portion size. We ate 1 hour after arrival, but it was a Saturday evening to be fair. They add 20% service fee to your bill which we weren't anticipating. One course worked out about £30 a head. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff if you fancy a nice meal out.

Food was really very good with a range of nice options, staff were nice, but service was extremely slow and the place wasn't particularly busy, it took over two hours from sitting down till finally having received all 3 courses of our food, feel like you'd have to spend the day there if you came on a busy day. Also not sure how kids sundae is a deconstructed two pots on a plate.

First visit for a spontaneous solo lunch. I felt welcomed and comfortable, a rare experience for an autistic person visiting a new place alone and not knowing the ‘protocol’. Millie’s attentive and friendly service, and her warm open energy, compelled me to take her name and write a review. Good menu, good food for the price, good vibes and good music (Millie’s playlist). Went for a bottomless brunch . Booked for 9 people many months ago , arrived for booked time with 2 people still making their way to the Alb. We been asked if we wanted to start ordering drinks, we agreed and ordered from the bottomless brunch menu. Last people arrived , we ordered more drinks and then paid for the brunch and ordered food. Food was awful, chicken cheese Mac , basically 2 processed chicken dippers on top of pasta with a load of melted flavourless cheese. Service was slow , missed drinks, service was friendly though . Just as we were about to leave we were asked to pay for drinks we had before we paid for the brunch . This was not made clear to us that those were not included or part of the brunch even though we ordered those since our booked slot and from the bottomless brunch menu. There was arguments with the manager and due to long discussion, one member of the group was escorted out. I can not recommend the alb for bottomless brunch at all.

Convenient location, good atmosphere, but terribly slow service which just ruins the rest of the experience. I don't come often as whenever I do the service is painfully slow but it'd been a couple of years and myself and 3 friends decided to come for a pre-booked lunch on Saturday. We were offered to order via the waitress or the QR code and I chose the QR code thinking this would improve the service. We each separately ordered our food being 2 burgers and 2 pizzas around 2pm and also separately ordered drinks. Timeline as follows: 2:01pm ordered burger 2:20-2:30pm 3 x meals arrived excluding the 2.01 ordered burger 2:31pm ordered cocktail 3pm raised missing burger and cocktail with staff. Very apologetic and said they'd had an issue with the printer so lost the burger order. Offered free drinks as way of apology. 3:21pm missing burger finally arrived after seeing at least 5-10 other burgers come out since raising this with staff. 3 x apology drinks arrived. Asked where my now 2 x cocktails were (being one ordered at 2:31pm and one apology drink ordered at 3pm). 3:32pm received 2 cocktails 3:35pm asked to vacate the table for a private reservation, just 14 minutes after the last meal was served. Profuse apologies were given and they ended up allowing us to stay. In summary one of our group of 4 had to wait 1 hour 20 minutes for a burger and one of our group of 4 had to wait 1 hour for a cocktail and 30 minutes for another "apology" cocktail. We were going to a day party at The Buttermarket at 4pm and honestly after not managing to get drinks and eating so close to leaving, and generally feeling like we were either waiting or complaining, we weren't really in the mood for dancing at 4pm, and this is down to the poor service at The Alb. It was so nice to receive apology drinks and I wasn't going to write a review at all but then to wait another 20 minutes for most of those to arrive and half an hour for one, the apology just seemed a bit half hearted. If you want a relaxed drink here and happy to wait at least half an hour for them this is a nice place to go. If you expect drinks within 10 minutes of ordering and food within half an hour then this just isn't the place to go. I have had a similar experience every time I've been.

We booked earlier in the week, for the Sunday lunch as advertised on the menu which we did ask if available & was told a time they could accommodate our party, fab! We came along to dine excited for our Sunday sharing platers we ordered 15mins later was told not doing them and no other explanation was gave, even with us explaining we spoke with staff beforehand for our booking - for Sunday lunch! Anyway - we stayed, our food was ok slow service and just ok. Personally won’t recommend nor return for food. Others in the establishment had also passed comment on the poor service.

If you're dairy free or have other food allergies, just ask the friendly and helpful staff, and they'll do their best for you. The meals are always prepared freshly to order and are very nice, and there's a lovely selection of cakes to choose from. 😋 Oh, the tea and coffee are always good, too. My favourite on the menu for an early brunch is the eggs royal. 😁😋

We stopped by this place for lunch during our visit to Shrewsbury. We ordered sandwiches, hot chocolate, and cake, and everything was delicious. The food was served quickly, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The atmosphere was lovely and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be returning.

I visit Café on the Cop weekly to buy breakfast sandwiches for my office team. And I recently ordered some cupcakes from them for a corporate event. I ordered 24 vanilla cupcakes filled with jam, with a colourful rainbow theme. Safe to say we weren't disappointed, the cupcakes were delish and went down very well with everyone. Wish we'd ordered more! Thank you to the lovely ladies at Café on the Cop, I will definitely order cakes from you again for our next event.

Lovely little cafe on a busy road. Called at lunch today whilst shopping and needing a break. Compact menu. Sandwich on nice bread and the mother double egg on toast. Delish. Saw a breakfast come out and it looked a monster! Might try it next time. Nice staff. Edit Aug 25 : Had breakfast here this morning. All fresh and made to order. Very nice.

A great experience in this lovely little café. I don't live in the Shrewsbury area and I just popped in for a quick take away lunch. The lady in who served me was very polite, despite me interrupting her own lunch, she had no hesitation taking my order, and with a smile, made my sandwich. I had a BLT which was fantastic, really fresh, super tasty and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend.

A nice Cafe in the center of Shrewsbury, staff were very friendly and efficient. They have a pay forward scheme where you pay for food for people worse off than you (homeless or people struggling). Very important in these days with the cost of living crisis. A nice place I stumbled on, I would highly recommend a visit if in Shrewsbury. Nice food, great staff and helping the local community.

Nestled conveniently near the river and Quarry Park, Stop is a beloved retreat for locals seeking a moment of respite from the hustle and bustle of Wyle Cop. This charming café boasts an impressive selection of award-winning coffee and specialty teas, complemented by an extensive array of homemade cakes crafted on-site by talented baker Richy Wedge. Visitors rave about the generous portion sizes, welcoming staff, and inviting atmosphere that makes it perfect for both solo visits or catching up with friends.
Lovely spot, great smily service, indoor and outdoor seating and the toasts were great. Particularly the avocado on toast. Americano was a bit weak for my taste but would happily revisit.

Greeting your guest is part of customer service. Have no idea who was working except a bunch of women yapping amongst themselves behind the counter; all staff showed no interest is customer service…..Couldn’t even say, ‘Welcome’, ‘Good Morning’ or ‘Is there anything I can help you with’… It’s NOT HARD..!

Asked lady working outside if still open at 3.40pm. Was told yes but they close at 4. Went in to order a takeaway coffee and stood in the cafe by myself for 10 minutes. She didn’t come in to serve me, just watched me. Walked out in the end as had to be somewhere! A few weeks later, I thought I’d give it another try. Coffee is nice but takes 10 minutes to arrive and lukewarm. Cafe wasn’t busy and have at least 5 staff working. Staff don’t seem very friendly and happy either. Used to love this place but really not the same.

Best flat white and home made cake I've had in ages. Friendly service. The coffee was strong and flavoursome but not bitter. The cake tasty and moist.

Yummy food and a small yet comfortable venue. Staff seem friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect for those wanting a takeaway meal in the quarry nearby!! Would definitely recommend so give it a try in your in Shrewsbury!

We virtually always go to Stop in Greyfriars for a coffee and cake as they have the absolute best chai latte, great coffee, and a beautiful selection of homemade cakes. However, the staff are not friendly and welcoming, it always feels like they're doing you a favour by serving you (no please and thank you) and usually, any hot food takes 20 - 30 minutes to be done. We will contine to be patrons of Stop because of the coffee and food and accept the questionable service level, I guess this is what other people do too as it's always busy.

The River View Cafe is a cosy cafe with views of the city. The cafe is tucked away and has plenty of tables outside and inside, as well as a terrace. The food is good value for money and all staff are friendly and attentive.
After a long walk exploring Shrewsbury, I came across a charming little spot called The River View Café. It offers a beautiful view of the river and has a warm, cozy ambiance that made it a perfect place to relax. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming as I arrived. I ordered a hot chocolate and a tuna melt panini—both were delicious. I sat outside, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the peaceful riverside view. The café is tucked inside The Parade Shopping Centre, making it a hidden gem worth seeking out. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

Lovely lunch in an amazing location, with fantastic service. What more could you ask for? Despite it being a rainy day we were sat outside covered by a massive umbrella, the menu had a wide variety of options and plenty of choice for our kids. Ordered at the counter and everything brought to your table, fantastic coffee and quick, well presented food. Genuinely couldn't fault anything Loved the view, and on a non rainy day I bet it's even better

Just returned from having afternoon tea and can not rate this cafe highly enough. Beautiful location and view, exquisite and delicious food and attentive, friendly staff. A real gem in the heart of Shrewsbury. Will definitely be back.

Visited today with my dad. We had a coffee each and I had a brownie. The setting is lovely although the river view is somewhat limited. However, my latte one shot was the best I’ve had in a long time and the brownie was massive (compared to a lot of cafes), it was so moist and a slight crispy outside. Our order was brought to us which means no battling with a tray to your table. Highly recommend a visit to while away some time.
Jack S — Google review
Food was cold. I ordered a bap and it was cold and dry, my mum ordered a panini and it came with the cheese not fully melted and was again cold and dry, it also wasn't toasted properly. We were still hungry as the portions are also extremely small for what you pay so we decided to have a cake and a biscuit and both were again very dry. The sponge of the cake wasn't soft and quite hard and dry as if it was days old, same for the biscuit which had an odd texture. Very expensive for what we got however the view and service was good.
Cleetus E — Google review
I have visited the River View Café several times recently with family members. The food was excellent—on our last visit, my wife tried the homemade quiche, which was delicious. There was a good variety of dishes available, and I appreciated that they offered a few choices of gluten-free cakes; the Carrot cake was especially enjoyable. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was a lovely day to sit outside and relax overlooking the River Severn, If you haven't been to the River View Café yet, it's definitely worth a visit.
Stuart S — Google review
Friendly, efficient staff and a lovely location. Suprisingly poor coffee - been there twice(!) so more fool me. Strongly suggest that a manager has coffee at Patchs, Condor, or Oath and compares, as we would go regularly if the coffee was drinkeable.

Absolutely fantastic scones I’d heard that an Australian couple One of whom was a scone judge said the scones were the best he’d ever tasted . He wasn’t wrong especially if you get your timing right and they’re fresh from baking ……. The Dolphin Inn is a charming Victorian Alehouse that offers a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's known for its Cuban street food, making it stand out from traditional pubs. The menu, curated by the talented Liam Tinsley, features regularly changing but consistently delicious street food. The pub hosts entertaining events like quiz nights and jam sessions, creating a warm and inviting environment for visitors to enjoy. Additionally, it's dog-friendly throughout, making it an ideal spot for pet owners.
We really enjoy our evenings in The Dolphin - wether that be for the fortnightly quiz (we won once which was nothing short of a minor miracle!) or Jam nights (I don’t sing or play an instrument in public but you can’t help joining in as it’s such a relaxed atmosphere) or just for a drink and now recently amazing food prepared by Liam Tinsley aka “Feast” Coby the landlord (with Ed) is superb and Joules are lucky to have him representing their brand. We’ve met some lovely friendly people here too who have become friends. Take a bow Coby you star! 🙇🙇‍♂️🙇‍♂️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Came for the Thursday quiz while on holiday and had a fantastic evening. The landlord did an excellent quiz and the locals were all very friendly. The pub itself had a good selection of Joule's beers and the outdoor terrace was excellent for a sunny day. Highly recommend. Shout out to the Landlord too for staying up and letting us pick our bag up when we realised we'd left it behind.

What a wonderful pub and location! This is a little gem of a place. Steve who was waiting on in the evening could not do more for the customers and was really attentive and amiable. I ate a starter portion of mussels and chips and Steve brought extra bread for the sauce without asking! This was ample for me as a main course and so tasty. Extremely attractive interior and everyone super friendly. To top it off there is a beautiful canal walk to the rear of the car park and Dawn is happy for you to stay in a camper in the car park for free if you pop in for a drink/food. Highly recommend. Spent a very pleasant afternoon here Saturday 5th October. The staff were great and the beer ( I opted for Salopian Oracle) was excellent and reasonably priced. Stayed at the Bull Inn over Easter; very nice welcome, had a really comfortable, clean room, and a lovely breakfast in the morning. The Bull is right in the middle of town, so in a great spot. Will definitely visit again

This is a well situated pub and the staff were prompt and friendly. The average cost of a mason meal is about £16. We went there as a family of four and my son had a burger and my daughter and partner had Lasagna and they enjoyed their meal.unfortunately mine was not as good by a long shot , I order bear battered cod with chips and garden peas, the cod was literally swimming in grease with no taste the chips were average and well peas are peas 🤔 I give this pub a 3 star as I have to rate it on my personal experience and meal etc.

Sunday lunch 28/09/25 absolutely delicious. The Lamb shank fell off the bone, veg', potatoes, gravy all perfect. Hunter's Chicken and chips also 10/10. Visited this Saturday as on door there was a sticker advertising dog friendly, so extra stars for this reason, bar staff friendly and easy going. Spacious booths to sit in, music playing..but advice would be the singer needed to turn his mic up, the guitar was overpowering his voice. For this reason we only stayed an hour and left, we would come again for better music experience next time.

Called in for lunch. What a friendly and welcoming Pub. Extensive menu and , for what we ordered, very good prices: The steak and Guinness pie served with potato mash, fresh carrots ' snap ' peas was quite sublime as was the Chilli con Carne, served with white rice! Not too spicy hot which was great. All in all a lovely place to have lunch.

Some amazing history here. The pub itself looks as old as it is but the real treasure is inside. Take a look at the medieval painting of the last supper on the wall just inside to the right. Some parts of the building used to be an old chapel and this painting probably dates from the 13th century.

Good things first, great selection of beer, tables for dinning and a lovely garden with loads of seats outside. Beer was reasonably priced. My biggest gripe was I was queueing and it was my turn to be served, bar tender already saw me YET he jumped on to serve the next person who was not queued. Good thing a lady staff saw me and jumped in. Really hate it when that happens and yoy have waited to be served. Place was not even that packed. Just bad service, discriminated? Being the only asian who was in the pub, i don't know. Update: as a reply to what they claim; no, i have been to a lot of pubs as it is my hobby to do so when I go to a new place. It was so clear as the bar staff was taking the order that I was not "with" the person he was talking to, infact he has seen me behind that person the whole time he was ordering and not even conversing to anyone. The female staff also saw me the whole time snd yet when this other guy jumped the queue, he just served him first as I kept on giving the male bar staff the look. And as I said, the female staff realized that, despite her being busy also, as I have been standing there for a few minutes and jumped in to serve me. In other pubs, bar staff are quite attentive and most of times ask who else hasn't been served yet. (And yes, racial issue does exist, as a non white who enters pubs, I get stared down at times.)

As I live locally, I've never had reason to stay overnight. So, can't rate the accommodation, but the food and service are top notch. 👌🏻 A small rear two tier beer garden is an added bonus, especially on a sunny afternoon 😀

The room we were allocated (No 3) is not on their listing page. Does the 4-poster bedroom actually exist. The bathroom is so small you can't dry yourself in it. You can hear everything in the next room from the bathroom. There is no chair, table etc in the room so you are confined to the bed. Road noise ensures you are woken very early. Staff great, food good and good choice of real ale. The room is not worth the cost if you are staying more than one night. Response to Cromwells. The public are allowed to post honest reviews of their experience. This is one way in which businesses can improve their service. What I highlighted was that the room we stayed in (no 3) is not honestly featured in your Expedia listing under Double room. What we saw when we booked were rooms of a reasonable size with reasonably sized bathrooms. Do you offer a smaller room than No 3? If not, then please appreciate our disappointment at your offering. I did highlight to your staff that we have never stayed in a smaller room.

We were here on a CAMRA pub visit with a group. My family of 4 people decided to have some food as well here. OMG, what a great decision to do that. I had the chicken tenders burger, served with skin on fries and salad. My husband & father in law had steak burgers with skin on fries and salad too. My mother in law had falafel in a Pitta with the same sides. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service was excellent as well. We sat in the beer garden which was quite deceptive from the outside. Great atmosphere and friendly atmosphere too, will definitely go back.

Lovely coffee shop with outstanding selection of flavoured hot chocolate and warm atmosphere. People who run it are always friendly and welcoming 😊

Small coffee situated just by the English Bridge in Shrewsbury. My favourite Americano in town but a bewildering choice of coffees to suit all. Delicious cakes and 'tapas' all reasonably priced 😁

my favourite coffee shop in all of shrewsbury, offer a student discount and i got all the time to enjoy their range of hot chocolate flavours. So yummy and the owners are so kind and friendly. Definitely recommend over any big chain coffee shop.

I love this place, the cookies and the biscoff hot chocolate and milkshake are some of the best drinks I've ever tasted, the staff are always lovely- and they're super close to my college campus! I highly recommend this place to everyone.

Amazing hot chocolates! Best hot chocolates I have ever had! The decor inside is lovely and so cute, lots of books available to read, lovely place, amazing quality and great price! Have been back several times and will continue to do so!

Passed the venue many times but decided to pop in for a coffee - it was very cold outside! From the warm welcome to a delicious hot coffee sitting in a clean, slightly quirky room I felt really at ease and relaxed. As it was my first visit I cannot give 5 stars. So will have to return to try out their foods and see if the rating can go up.

Shrewsbury Castle, a 1000s sandstone fortress, is home to the historical collections of the Shropshire Regimental Museum Trust. The town center of Shrewsbury is a charming mix of streets and alleys filled with shops and eateries. The architecture in Shrewsbury is stunning, with beautiful buildings throughout the town. Notably, Shrewsbury Castle and Shrewsbury Abbey were founded in the 11th century by Roger de Montgomery.
A castle I have wanted to do for a long time. This castle is special as it houses a fantastic collection from the Shropshire Regiment. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Head up to Laura's Tower. It is not open, but the views from up there are fantastic. We paid £8 entrance, but well worth it. A small gift shop, but cash only. Toilets are available.

Shrewsbury Castle, perched on a hill in the heart of the town, is a good historical site with stunning views of the surrounding area. Originally built by the Normans in 1074, it has played a key role in English history, including during the medieval conflicts and the English Civil War. The castle grounds are free to explore, offering peaceful walks through well-maintained gardens. Inside, the Soldiers of Shropshire Museum showcases military artifacts and memorabilia, highlighting the history of the local regiments.I am not a fan of this type of museums so it did not hook me at all. Climbing Laura’s Tower rewards visitors with panoramic views of Shrewsbury and its medieval streets. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from the town center, Shrewsbury Station, and Park and Ride stops. While the outdoor areas are lovely, some exhibits focus mainly on military history rather than the castle’s architectural evolution, and admission of £8 is required for the interior. Overall, it’s a charming and historically rich site, perfect for leisurely exploration, photography, and learning about Shropshire’s past.
Przemyslaw K — Google review
Utterly magnificent! I'd recommend the museum to everyone. It doesn't glorify war but recognises the ultimate sacrifice that so many local men made. All of the campaigns in the last 300 years are remembered, it doesn't feel like a stuffy history type of museum as is right upto date today. The staff were friendly and informative, I came away with a far greater sense of knowledge about the world we live in now and how conflicts begin and end.

Nice and small castle, where you can see the history of military. It’s not too big but if you feel interesting about militarism then it’s worth visit. You can buy tickets in the counter no need to book it on advance its £15 per person for Adult. On the right side you will find Laura’s tower where you can Shrewsbury town from top.

We didn’t go into the main museum as it was rather pricey and with small children who would not have appreciated all the weaponry etc (give it a few years!) Beautifully kept (and free) gardens - a lovely place to hang with the family lazing on benches and on the grass for a bit of a rest after a busy morning.
Philip M — Google review
Lovely historic castle, plenty of things to see inside of historical significance. The shooting simulator was also very cool for £1 !

I didn't have time to do the museum but the outside is well worth a visit if you are in town.

It’s pretty at the entrance with the flowers (during the spring). There is not much but definitely got a few interesting statues and stuffs.

Pret A Manger is a popular counter-serve chain known for its ready-made sandwiches, breakfast options, coffee, soups, and salads. The cafe in Shrewsbury has been praised for its dog-friendly policy and welcoming staff. It offers a fresh and tasty selection of food and great coffee. The location provides a glimpse of medieval Shrewsbury with its historic features like an old fireplace and doorways to the old mint.
After being let down by Uber eats and not receiving my delivery I tried one last time through a different ordering system. As I’m working in a retail shop solo, leaving the shop wasn’t an option. I left specific delivery instructions including that I had been let down previously. When opening the bag to see this inside my order, I can not begin to tell you how something so little can change someone’s day. I’m very grateful to the staff member who took the time to write this note and think of a way to turn a bad experience around. So to whoever it was leaving me this note, thank you. Your kindness didn’t go unnoticed.

Not my sort of place at all, regarding the food offerings and the beverages, but the interior design is stunning and well worth your patronage to see and enjoy! Wonderful incorporated town wall, built in 1300! My photos don't really do it justice!
John R — Google review
Good food and coffee, great internal space integrated into the old town walls ruins.
David G — Google review
Nice shop with three (smallish) levels, including parts of the old town walls - interesting and unusual! Service good and pretty fast, and 99p filter coffee is a great Pret initiative. Seats fairly comfortable. Very dim lighting in the basement level, where the toilets are. (You'll need to ask for the code, as they have one of those irritating combination locks.)
David B — Google review
Beautiful old building offering cool, airey respite, which was much appreciated on a muggy day in July. Good quality tea, as usual. Only complaint would be that staff in Pret can't resist some aggressive table cleaning. Have noticed this in other branches too. Speedily spray one table, spin round and spray another table, then go back to the first table. Top marks for cleanliness, but please remember that customers sitting at nearby tables don't want cleaning spray on their back.

Pret closed my store in Worcester, as a big fan of Pret, I was very happy to find one in Shrewsbury. Friendly & welcoming staff & owner, lovely fresh food. Owner explained he'd purchased a new coffee machine which made better coffee than before. Look forward to visiting again.

Poppednin to get a coffee. Staff friendly but place looked tired and shabby, the toilets were filthy. Did mention this but basically a shrug and explanation if being short staffed Shame as it let everthing else down

Starbucks Coffee is a Seattle-based coffeehouse chain that has made its mark with signature roasts, light bites, and WiFi availability. The company's mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit is reflected in its diverse and inclusive atmosphere. Since opening its first store in 1971, Starbucks has prioritized equity and accessibility. Customers have praised the staff for going above and beyond, creating an inviting environment where every cup of coffee feels like a love note in the air.
I recently visited this Starbucks and had a wonderful experience. Amelia, the barista, was incredibly friendly and efficient. She got my complicated order perfect and made the visit enjoyable with her cheerful demeanor. The coffee was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Highly recommend! Thanks! 🔥💪
Tiger — Google review
Having had enough of shopping in the centre of Shrewsbury it was time for a brew. Now, I'm not that familiar with Starbucks and mostly go to Costa or an independent, this Starbucks was well positioned right in the square, the Christmas market was quite busy. I ordered 2 large tea's......what I got was two huge mugs of tea that had 2 tea bags in each.....and wait for it....milk already in the mug, people have been birched for less. What I really expected was tea, in a pot milk on the side. I suppose they really concentrate on coffee, but come on, it's not difficult to get a brew right. If visiting again I'll stick with coffee, or better still go to an independent for a decent brew.

Luke and charlotte were lovely! So was our cookie and latte. Took us a while to be served though as they seem understaffed :-( Someone was playing the Taylor Swift radio in here!
Lucky K — Google review
One of my favourite things about this cafe is the space it has. Free WIFI, plenty of space to sit, it's the perfect place to read/ study/ rest. The menu options are great, and staff lovely. The only downside is it is overpriced. Even Costa prices are cheap compared to some of the speciality lattes here and I would not say that the quality matches the prices. LOVE the atmosphere, I just wish it was about £1 cheaper.
Alice E — Google review
I come here regularly for a coffee and to get some uni work done. Every time i’ve come in i’ve been greeted with a smile and always served a quality coffee. Majority of the times I’ve been served by Amelia, she’s always given me a warm welcome and is a very talented barista with many great recommendations. My personal favourite is the ‘kinder bueno’ iced latte, it’s incredible!
Mollie P — Google review
This is my favourite place to come for coffee as its so welcoming. The staff are absolutely lovely and nothing is too much trouble. It makes me smile to see how lovely and friendly they are to other customers also. I have to give a special shout out to Amelia, who is always attentive, caring and so very friendly.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Starbucks location in Shrewsbury town, and I must commend the outstanding service provided by one of their team members, Florence. From the moment I walked in, Florence greeted me with a warm smile and a genuine enthusiasm that set a positive tone for my entire visit. Florence demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the menu, offering insightful recommendations tailored to my taste preferences. Their passion for coffee and commitment to customer satisfaction were evident in every interaction. They went above and beyond to ensure my order was perfect, even suggesting a slight modification to enhance the flavor, which turned out to be spot on. What truly stood out was Florence attention to detail and personalized service. She remembered my name and my usual order from previous visits, creating a welcoming and familiar atmosphere that made me feel like a valued regular. Their efficiency during the busy morning rush was commendable, managing to serve each customer promptly while maintaining a friendly demeanor. Beyond her professional skills, Florence displayed a genuine kindness and positive attitude that brightened my day. They took a moment to engage in a brief but meaningful conversation, showing a true interest in their customers beyond just the transaction. It's rare to encounter someone who makes such a significant impact in a short amount of time. In a world where exceptional customer service is increasingly rare, Florence is a shining example of what makes Starbucks a beloved community hub. Their dedication, expertise, and personable nature make every visit a delightful experience. I highly recommend visiting this Starbucks location and experiencing Florence's stellar service for yourself. Thank you, Florence, for consistently going above and beyond. You truly make a difference!

Alan C — Google review
Loved this place. So many shops on 3 floors, some closed down by me like Toys R Us, and others not seen before like the Duck shop. Plenty of places for a light snack and coffee. The Axe place is definitely somewhere I would go if I was able to convince my son to come in. They have an escape room next door but one or two, too.
Melissa R — Google review
Great place for spending time (and money)on a very wet Sunday. Plenty of shops selling a wide variety of merchandise over several floors. Easy access to bus and car parking too. Pity not many cafes open but you can't have everything.
Christine T — Google review
Always feel empty even though all shops are open. Don’t know why. But easy to shop and convenient to get to the parking lot and high street. And the toilet is quite good. The shopping centre itself got lifted up much better than previous in every aspects.
Sue L — Google review
As a shopping centre it's OK but with one huge drawback, there's no shopping directory at the main entrance or indeed anywhere else in the complex that I could see. This made the visit less than enjoyable as it was pot luck finding what you wanted.

🌟 A lovely and welcoming service 🌟 Always fully stocked with delicious choices of foods/cakes 🍰 Wheelchair accessible, probably the best Costa to offer a good accessible choice. Clean and Tidy environment. Very friendly and chatty staff. Great Coffee 👍 *Try new Maple Hazel Range 🍁 🌰

Guests can enjoy a range of facilities including a coffee shop, cinema, gym, dog agility course, sauna, heated lagoon and beach area, communal hot tubs and more. Visitors praise the cleanliness of the shower block and the helpfulness of the friendly staff.
We had a wonderful weekend with extended family staying in tents and safari lodges. The accommodation was fantastic, the lodges were luxurious, clean and spacious. The facilities were fabulous, particularly the biotop pool and the kids beach area. We had an age range of baby to 70s and there really was something for everyone. Plus all the staff were so helpful and nice, even collecting a birthday cake which had been incorrectly delivered for us. We will be back…highly recommended. Ty.
Karen S — Google review
Absolutely spotless, toilet block lovely. Food good, with attentive staff. Biggest gripe is the cost of pitch fees. Why charge so much when there generally so little on site?
Matthew R — Google review
Positives first: 😊 Very helpful gent (Night Warden) at check in. Inside of lodge was great - as pictured, albeit I imagined it a little larger. Hubby & I had main room on ground floor, and kids had loft space. I would not recommend this option for very young kids, or anyone with mobility/flexibility options as there is a steep stepladder to go up, and when you’re up there, you cannot stand up! Movement is by crawling/bum shuffling only! Main bedroom had a comfy bed, and we were very grateful for the complimentary Bath Robes and lots of spare towels (we’ve had to pay for these separately at other Holiday locations 😕) to use after enjoying the Hot tub. Shower had good pressure 👍🏻 Also thought ‘The White Company’ complimentary mini toiletries were a nice touch (their stuff is lush) Kitchen was great! Huge cooker, and SMEG kettle and toaster (fancy! 😉) also appreciated the small offering of complimentary tea/coffee, and dishwasher tablets. We used our log burner every night ❤️ Came with a free bag of wood & everything needed to start the fire. 10/10! 🫶🏻 Used the mini dishwasher every night too - who wants to wash dishes on holiday?! Free WiFi!!! 🤗💖 Negatives: Although kitchen was lovely & clean - there was recycling left over, under the sink, from previous guests…. Dishwasher was clean, but both the Salt & Rinse Aid lights were illuminated, & it made me wonder if/when they had been last refilled…? 🤔 (Pedantic, yes - but I wasn’t keen on the thought of our dishes being washed in a washer that hasn’t been maintained/as clean as possible…) Or perhaps it is maintained, and housekeeping just hadn’t gotten round to it yet…?? Main clock on the wall had stopped working. Drawer nearest the double cooker caught on the cooker, every time we opened it. An oversight/planning mistake when assembling kitchen…. It’s not major….but these little things detract from the High End image/Gold Standard that is trying to be projected….. ⭐️ There was a fire pit - yes, but it was so small, & low 🥺 We were hoping to BBQ, but would only have been able to for The Borrowers. Or Smurfs. We roasted our marshmallows indoors! (This is also because it was drizzling on and off) We enjoyed our stay, and would rate it = 7.5/10 🥰 Thank you.

Staying here at the moment. Can't begin to explain how fabulous this site is. It's got everything you could possibly need. Pitches are big. Amenities are spotless. If you have kids it's so much better than callow top. Beautiful grounds. Great for dogs. 12 out of 10

Very tidy and clean park. Great size pitches. The ones around the boundary have great views. Facilities were very clean and well equipped. Have been a few times both with caravan and motorhome. Highly recommended.
Alexander H — Google review
Everything fabulous. Good site. Good sports everything very clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Loving it. Edit. Although we had a good time, from the middle of the week. We noticed a booming noise that one day started at 615am and continued for hours. It turned out to be the the loud music from the gym. This went on for several days. But we still enjoyed it.
Colin H — Google review
Had a lovely time here this very hot weekend! The pool was lovely and very much needed! Lovely outdoor, wild style pool and slightly smaller pool on the man made beach area. Great for the kids! The facilties are very good compared to other camp sites. Clean shower rooms with free shampoo and shower gel. Had some nice food at the onside cafe. Stops serving and closes fairly early so check opening times. My only flaw (which didnt affect my stay at all) was the bands they use. They tighten up really easily around your wrist and are impossible to get loose without cutting off and getting a replacement. We will be back again for sure!

Pub
The Woodman Inn is a charming traditional pub located on the outskirts of town. Its interior, listed on CAMRAs Heritage register, features oak paneling and two open fires, creating a cozy atmosphere to enjoy a pint from their selection of five ales sourced from local and regional breweries. The pub offers a variety of beers, lagers, and ciders including cask conditioned real ales that are well maintained.
Our first stroll up Cotton Hill, a short walk from the station, where three pubs sit within spitting distanceof each other. Albrecht loved the choice of six real ales. He told me to have Dr Morten's by Abbeydale Sheffield brewery. Very good. The lounge bar is dominated by wood panelling. Has a very traditional feel. There is a rear games room / public bar. In years gone by the drinks cost about 5% more in the Lounge bar. You paid for the carpet etc. Work clothes not allowed. When I started drinking the 1 or 2p a pint made a difference! As Albrect reminds me, £1 was enough to get drunk on. There is a beer garden out back. A worthy CAMRA Good Beer Guide entry.

Lone visitor to Shrewsbury, on a weekend away, pre Christmas. Visited many superb real ale pubs but this was the best of them all. Six real ales, roaring fires, not to busy for a Friday afternoon and a proper pub anyone would feel comfortable in. The owners obviously take a great pride in the pub and it shows. Will definitely visit again. If only all pubs were like this!

This was a true pub and the owner was so welcoming, giving me a tour and stories. Looks like it would be an even better visit in the warmer months. Highly recommend!
