It’s a beautiful place near canal especially on a good weather. But an unpleasant experience with food. Not fish and chips was not fresh and not crispy. Crab tacos wasn’t very tasty

This a great place for food or just a coffee. We had a coffee break there and then went back for dinner as the staff are so delightful, friendly and welcoming coupled efficient service. Going back for dinner was a perfect choice as the quality of the food is superb. We had the sausages and mash which was amazing, homemade sausages combined with mash as smooth as silk. Don't miss it.

We stopped by to try a few small plates – the Beetroot Hummus, Patatas Bravas, and the Pulled Pork Cheesy Birria Tacos – all absolutely delicious with generous portion sizes. For mains, we had the Char-grilled Souvlaki Chicken Burger, which looked great but was a bit on the bland side for our taste. That said, the customer service was excellent – friendly and attentive throughout. Overall, it's a great pub with a solid menu full of tempting options. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

We went to telfords warehouse twice on a 2 night trip to chester. 1st night, Sunday, we saw 2 live singers. 2nd night, Monday, we did the quiz. Both very good. Clientele is mainly young, it's right next to student accommodation. It is also on the canal and has quite a lot of outdoor tables which we also made use of. Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Would recommend.

Absolutely delightful pub and setting, we stopped off after a short walk on the canal. As my daughter loves live music they let us stay for a little while to little while and listen to it. We are very grateful to them, thank you. Is probably more catered to the hipster student types but if I was 15-20 years younger I would have loved it there. Excellent.

Great ambience and river view. Through fully enjoyed our visit. They do serve luxurious The Balvenie 21yo whiskey and the price is 3-4x times cheaper than in any other bar I’ve been to. It already makes it worth a trip even from another town.

What a find! Excellent location with beautiful views. Food orders opened at six, food was out very quickly and cooked to a high standard. Service was attentive but not in your face. Perfect and I will definitely be back very very soon. Keep up the great work.

OK, i admit it, I was a Bottomless Brunch virgin (because I'm middle aged and we didn't have this when I was in my 20s 😅) Went with a wonderful crew of NHS colleagues, ranging from early 30s to *cough* mid 50s and there were groups of all ages in there, so I didn't feel out of place at all - first hurdle hurdled 😅👍🏻 Then the food was good, the drinks delicious, and the atmosphere friendly and vibrant. Highly recommend the Rumbungo but the non-alcoholic version was great too! (Yeah, I paced myself, like I said, I'm now middle-aged 😆) Special mention to the waitress, Emily, who was stellar 🙏🏻. Considering you paid once and it was kind of an all-inclusive experience for 2 hours - and therefore they could have been stingy with the drinks, or at the very least, reactive in terms of service - Emily was really proactive and ensured all her tables were consistently catered for, so we were never without a drink on the go, if not 2 😅 Honestly, the best place to pop my Bottomless Brunch cherry and I've recommended to my daughter and her boyfriend and their workplaces 👍🏻

The Bottomless Brunch here is second to none. Service is insane, didn't have an empty drink for less than a couple minutes. Staff didn't drop the ball once. Atmosphere is bouncing too. Came here to do the brunch. Wasn't expecting it to be this good, mainly and probably unfairly due to the building former life. Almost all draught beers were available on the brunch, which is unusual as well as all the cocktails. We had a good go at completing the menu and left feeling triumphant! The staff were all really nice, service was quick considering it was a Friday and it was quite busy. Well worth the money

Hands down the best bottomless brunch me and partner have ever been to! The staff were fantastic. We said we wanted to try and have the entire cocktail menu and that's exactly what we did thanks to them. We didn't even have to ask for a drink, always bringing the next one before we ran out. The food was really good too. Pizza and boss benedict 👌 would 100% go back to this place again 👍 highly recommend. Thank you guys for such a brilliant experience and day out

Food was lovely but the service was awful. They didn’t come over to ask for our order once, we had to get up and go to the bar ourselves every single round after waiting an awkward amount of time without a single drink. The first few rounds we waited a while with empty drinks. We then started trying to order another once the next arrived due to the long wait, but were told every drink had to be finished before ordering another drink. I’ve been to lots of bottomless brunches and this is by far the worst I’ve been to in terms of how fast the drinks were flowing. I must say again though that the food was delicious

Absolutely lovely venue, the barman was really friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our food and would definitely return. The only thing that let it down was the chef smoking on the terrace right by the door to the restaurant at the end of service and smoke blowing into the restaurant. Also, staff commenting on another member of staff with customers in earshot…unfair and unprofessional.

came in today for a quiet date night. we were served by molly who was fantastic, really attentive and kind to us. the food came really quickly and tasted great-very fresh flavours. it’s our first time coming but definitely won’t be our last! also their terrace is gorgeous. thank you for a lovely night ☺️

My partner and I enjoyed a gorgeous meal here as part of our weekend away in Chester. We ordered Hanging Kebabs and they were divine! The restaurant was pretty empty as it was a Thursday evening but the atmosphere was still lovely and the service was spot on. Thank you so much!

We both had the steak and honestly WOW. absolutely beautiful. our server Molly was so lovely and friendly and very attentive and service was super quick. The steak is honestly on par with miller and carter for a fraction of the price. absolutely phenomenal. wine was amazingly priced considering the quality. definitely recommend this place, lovely staff, lovely food, lovely atmosphere and great quick service.

Great place for casual dining. Laid back music - not too.loud so you can't hear yourself think. Dog friendly which is a plus too! Staff are super polite and attentive. Food is different to what you get elsewhere but incredibly tasty and great value too!

Had a fabulous time at The Botanist in Chester. Food was superb, staff were great and the atmosphere was wonderful, the live music was superb. Six of us all had different food and every dish was delicious. Good quality food, great portions, and so tasty. There were a lot of choices on the menu, it was difficult to decide. Went here Christmas eve, place is amazing inside, great architecture and kept all original features with a modern twist, gorgeous food and the best cocktails. Shut early as it was Xmas eve, but can imagine it being a buzz at a normal weekend.

First time here, amazing pub. Cheaper if you buy 2 bottles. Back here Aug 2025, young barman Tyler is great, nothing to much trouble. Happy hour 5-8pm Only opens at 5pm. Mark and Tyler, 2 great barmen. 👍😎

Be careful, check before you swipe your card for payments. I bought a pitcher cocktail and the bar man put himself a nice large tip on my bill, only realised after we left.

Great restaurant and bar with wide selection of drinks and food in the heart of the city. You can sit in the terrace outside and enjoy the weather or enjoy the classic cozy ambience inside. Prices are reasonable and portion is decent. Service is quick and staff is friendly.

If you want to spend time enjoying good food and fine wine in lovely surroundings the Church is the place. We were met by one of the waitresses and shown to our table,high up overlooking the well stocked bar.We were well looked after by all the girls and we had a great afternoon.The food which was only going to be a snack turned into a feast, amazing.The chuch itself was so interesting to see and all the work done was great.Well worth a visit.

Good fresh clean pint of Cider. Will be a go-to for many a Hen or Stag party so you can expect larger groups. If you find the main bar downstairs getting too busy you can always try the smaller bar up on the balcony area.

Fantastic bar with wide range of drinks. Astronomically cheap and good quality beer. Plenty of seating and TVs for sports. Clean toilets. Great service and nice friendly people.

I I could give 0 stars I would One Star – Extremely Disappointed, Be Warned I had a really bad experience staying at Hotel 15 in Chester. Upon arrival, the staff explicitly told me where I could park for free. I parked exactly where I was advised to, and they even saw me park there. A few weeks later, I received 2 parking fines I’ve emailed the hotel twice over the past two months, hoping they would at least acknowledge the issue or help resolve it — but I’ve been completely ignored. Not a single response. Their lack of responsibility and poor customer service has been shocking. In the end, I’ve had to pay the fine myself, which was about the same cost as the hotel stay. Essentially, I’ve paid double for one night, all because of their bad advice and refusal to engage afterwards. I definitely won’t be returning, and I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to be very careful, especially with parking. Terrible service, and a really disappointing

We stayed here for the night above the pub nice rooms comfy bed no noise, had a few drinks in bar which had a friendly vibe music was good hope to come back when in Chester can't fault it.

Great rooms above the pub right on the high street. Clean, comfy & very quirky!! Very close to some great bars & restaurants, all in all a great stay!

Great gig from The Commoners. Poor sound yet again an issue with the Live Rooms. Shame, as its a lovely venue with friendly staff. Maybe it's the shape of the performance space.

We had a terrific time coming to the live rooms Chester.came to watch my favourite group AC/DC but in tribute AC/DC Livewire they was awesome.manager looked after us and got us a seat with a bit of a view so we was very happy.

Had a really good night yesterday watching Hot 8 Brass .. The door and front of house staff went out of their way to find us reserved seats, since standing for long periods is hard for both of us. The bar staff were quick to make sure we didn't stay thirsty too. The music was great too.

Watched Absolute Bowie last night, amazing band and great set. Sound was good. I struggled to see at times but we just moved around to other areas. This band are worth seeing!! Also seen Livewire and Craig Charles here and both were brilliant.

One of the best music venues around... Great location.. right by Chester Station and bus stops Great sound quality.. never experienced any poor sound Great viewing.. smallish, tight venue. You are close to the stage. Great bar.. fantastic selection of draught beers and quality spirits Great line ups.. irrespective of genre Great value.. most bands are £35 or less Great dining options nearby for a preshow meal The only issue is the very limited, and unreserved, seating. Standing is fine for the tall, fit and able but more provision should be given to those less fortunate. My last gig.. Robert Jon and the Wreck who were amazing My next.. Wishbone Ash (over 2 days including the entire Argus album and "Ashcon"... again!

This is largely a stand up venue. I was sitting in the bar with my wife (can't stand long as old). The bouncer asked why, and then arranged armbands and reserved seats. Very impressed. Music was great too.

As somebody with acute AGORAPHOBIA who requires crutches this venue is an absolute GODSEND. The staff are so empathic and make everything so much easier to cope with. Thank You. It's ALWAYS VERY appreciated. You REALLY are a LIFELINE to me. X

Had such a great evening at Opera Grill in Chester! The atmosphere is lively but still relaxed, making it a lovely spot for a night out. I ordered the fillet steak and it was cooked to absolute perfection – tender, full of flavour, and easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time. What really stood out though was the service. Jemima took care of us all evening and she was fantastic – so friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and she added such a nice personal touch to the experience. Great food, amazing service, and a brilliant vibe – can’t wait to come back!

We visited and ordered the Sunday roast beef, asking for it medium, but unfortunately it was incredibly tough – we couldn’t even cut through it with a steak knife. The roast potatoes were also extremely dry, with skins that were almost impossible to cut. We had to send the dish back as it was simply inedible – like chewing rubber. We then ordered the steak for two (£100), which looked fantastic when it arrived. While the presentation was great, it was again over-charred on the outside and just okay in the middle. I’m not sure what’s going wrong in the kitchen, but the quality of the main dishes was a real letdown. Only the trimmings were enjoyable. On a more positive note, the service was excellent. Big shout out to staff and the Manager – they were all welcoming, professional, and handled the situation with great care. The ambience is incredible – the space looks fantastic and has so much potential. It’s just a real shame that the food didn’t live up to the rest of the experience.

Me and my husband shared the Treacle Steak, it was the best steak we have ever eaten, we wasn’t really sure what to expect but it exceeded all our expectations. The service was quick and our waitress was great, it was a special occasions and they spoiled us with a free dessert which we appreciated. We are leaving the country soon but have decided we have to return to have this one last time.

We always have a good experience in Opera, whether work or personal evenings. Gary and the team work hard to accommodate us. The new terrace is pretty special and a nice place to spend the evening. I normally enjoy the black cod or a sharing steak, the chimi-churi is excellent.

Opera hosted our wedding reception on Sat 4th Oct. The staff and venue absolutely exceeded all our expectations! Nothing was too much trouble and the food was superb. To all the waiting and bar staff, the Chefs, management and a special mention to Zara Abraham, thankyou all so much! What am absolute gem of a place. Last minute weekend in Chester and decided this pub looked like a good bet for dinner, we certainly weren't disappointed. I had the roast bacon joint and my partner the fish and chips, both were fabulous, my roast was by far the best roast dinner I've ever had in a pub and I've had a few! We both had affogato for pudding with a shot of frangelico. Price was very good for what we had and the service was amazing, a really friendly place, just a shame we don't live here, because this would definitely be somewhere we'd go regularly.

We went for an impromptu Sunday roast dinner as in the Chester area and just wow! We’re proper roast snobs and this was one of the best I’ve had recently, proper home cooked, big portions and the beef was cooked to perfection. It was a little quiet in there which is a shame but the staff were really lovely and welcoming. Would highly recommend it if you’re in the area. Also though it was very reasonably priced at £15 for a roast beef dinner. Would also recommend getting the extra side of cauliflower cheese, that was amazing!

I was very disappointed with my visit yesterday. I order the crispy beef salad, when it came it was very dry, the salad had no dressing and the beef was either hard or chewy, and lacked flavour. When the waiter came to ask if all was well I explained I wasn’t happy with the meal and he took it away and asked if I’d like to order something else, so although disappointed by the food I was happy with their response. However, when the bill came I had been charged for both the salad and the alternative meal I’d ordered. While happy to pay for the replacement, I explained that I didn’t want to pay for the beef salad. I was told that I’d have to pay for some of it as the chef had said that the food was fine, and therefore they would only be able to take £5 off the bill. I explained that when they took the food away and asked if I’d like to order an alternative, to me that suggested that I wouldn’t need to pay. I explained that it should have been made clear to me that I’d need to pay for some or all of the salad as well as the replacement dish - even though they took it away. I wouldn’t have eaten the salad but I wouldn’t have ordered another dish had I known that I’d be paying for both. The waiter said that was not their policy and that they would only offer a £5 discount. At this point I agreed to pay and left. I wish that I’d asked to speak to the manager but I was so surprised, I didn’t think to ask. I would not recommend going here for food, it’s at best average (based on what the others in my group ordered) and the service I received was appalling.

Took my best friend for birthday lunch here today, we both opted for roast beef Sunday lunch. Veg was good but beef was like leather and uneatable. We were offered desserts as compensation but neither of us eat them. Just moved to Hoole and was disappointed to say the least 😔

Awful, went for afternoon lunch, couldn’t complete the order as the soup wasn’t to their standard apparently. Then the food came, 5 bean chilli had what looked like one bean maybe 2 at a push, fish was thin, small and over done. Staff didn’t offer condiments to the table despite it being almost empty, when I pointed it out to the waitress she said we don’t put condiments on the table as not everyone is eating. Which makes sense, but I’ve ordered 3 meals I am clearly eating food. If that’s the standard god knows what the soup was like… An to top it off we got over charged for chips £4.50 which should have been £3.00 when purchased with a meal. Nice setting on a sunny day but £65 for 3 plates of unloved food. Added service charge for no service!! Drinks where good, as they only had to pour them into a clean glasses. Really poor!!

I would recommend booking before arriving for a Sunday roast as this place was absolutely buzzing! The soup of the day was melt in your mouth delicious and flavoured perfectly! We tried the chicken, pork and beef roasts. They were equally amazing. I preferred the chicken as it came with crispy skin. The pork came with wonderful crackling if that's your bag. You cannot leave here without having pudding. The brownie, cheesecake and toffee pudding were out of this world. The kitchen is on point with timing and the wait staff did them proud despite how busy it was. Lovely, warm, welcoming and worth a visit for sure. You won't regret it!

Fantastic beers, tasty pork pies and a great friendly pub with good decor. Also, an amazingly good function room available upstairs too.

We have had Sunday lunch several times and always a beautiful meal with great service from staff. Recently we hired the venue room for a birthday party and it was fantastic. We were able to provided catering ourselves, decorate the room the way we wanted it, there was facilities for slide show and providing our own music nothing was too much trouble. Staff were extremely helpful we had our own bar, toilets just a great place to make a great get together.

Had a table for 2 on Sunday 24/08 at 3.30pm. Arrived slightly ahead of time. Table ready. Food delivered in a timely fashion. Wow! Good home cooked Sunday roast. We couldn’t finish it! Staff excellent and friendly! Pub is great and would recommend!

I love the Joule's pub chain. Very small but perfectly formed. Great beer. Flat first came here about 43 years ago when it was a medicore Whitbresd (?) pub. Since Joules took over it has been a great pub. Small sun trap patio to front. Lovely interior. Great real ale. Pies sold for scoobies..bit microwaved but tasty. Ic n Flic loved their beer.

Cracking pub with rich wood panelling in the more traditional booth and alcove style. Very good selection of craft ales and excellent staff. Would recommend.

Honestly the most welcoming pub in Chester! Lovely surroundings , spotlessly clean with staff that really care about their customers. Absolutely the best Sunday roast dinner cooked fresh 😋 can't recommend it enough ! THANKYOU!

If you're after a fun event space that oozes character, then try Alexander's Live. We're local to Chester so we were already familiar with the venue from our visits to their weekly Comedy Club (they're excellent too!) and decided that we wanted to host our wedding there. Our conversations were with Jamie, the venue's owner, who was faultless in his accommodation of our needs and wants for the big day. I was so pleased to hear that I could hang my homemade bunting up! We found him to be openminded and responsive— just what you want when you're organising any event! Jamie coordinated well with our other vendors too, ensuring they had all the information they needed to get set up for the day. The same can be said for all the staff at Alexander's Live. They gave impeccable service on the day - in fact, we can't praise them enough, they were such a dream: attentive, accommodating and pleasant. A great place for a laugh and decent beer. As well as the host, two out of the three acts we saw were very funny. All of us came out of there with smiles on our faces and would definitely go back if we are in the area again.

Happened to stumble upon this bar on open mic night. Great atmosphere, some really talented performers who deserve to go far. Friendly staff. Give it a chance if you do wander in. Recommended.

Went for the Friday night comedy with another couple and had a great night! I’d never been to a stand up comedy show so wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The venue was intimate and the comedians really engaged with the audience which was great. You got three different comedians which each had their own style, the host was also great and in my opinion the funniest! The pricing felt good value. Would recommend for a night out for something a bit differ

Amazing little venue, first time, will , definitely be going back, it's basically behind Iceland if you're using the wall, Google sent me left instead of right which gave me a nice little 3 mile walk out of the way as I lost signal, so go right and it's a short walk, ( Iceland is 57 Frodsham St, Chester CH1 3JJ) I had no end of problems centering maps, even on another phone on another network, so back to the venue, staff are brilliant, very happy and friendly, the sound in there is amazing, and there is a really great vibe to the place , went to see the amazing Crowded Scouse, there is seating but it is limited get there early, I Will definitely be going back there,

This is a great bar. A wide selection of craft beers, a good number on draft and others on keg. Friendly staff and good ambience. I had a pint of Lagonda and can highrecommend it.

September 2024: still a great venue, although disappointed the football was on and not some ambient tunes instead! Great choice of craft ales! Awesome craft ale & cider bar, loads of choice and has something for everyone! Situated just a few minutes walk from the train station on City Road, just over the canal on the right hand side. Always sunny on the inside, despite the cold wet and wind on the outside! Step in, relax and chill out on the big brown comfortable sofas. Camra pub winners & in the current 2022 guide. Definitely worth a visit!

The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable about their beer, and the beers are fantastic. It was also opposite my hotel (premier inn near the station) so I was even more happy! 😁

I recently celebrated my 30th birthday at this amazing cellar bar, and it was everything I hoped for and more. From the start, Andrew, the owner, was incredibly helpful and accommodating—he made the whole process so smooth and genuinely cared about making the night special. His relaxed and friendly approach put us at ease right away. The bar itself has such a unique charm, with its cozy underground setting and a brilliant selection of unique ales that our guests couldn’t stop talking about. Andrew and his team were happy to make recommendations, and their passion for the drinks really came through. One of the best parts was being able to decorate the space ourselves. It made the evening feel really personal and tailored to the occasion, and the team gave us all the flexibility we needed to make it our own. The atmosphere on the night was perfect—laid-back, warm, and full of character. If you're looking for a cool, intimate venue with great drinks and even better service, I can’t recommend this cellar bar enough. I recently booked the private party area to host my 25th birthday. It was such an incredible night, thanks to the fantastic staff- especially Andrew and Rachel who were so friendly and attentive & being able to decorate the room made it feel so much more personal! The food was great, we had pizzas and fries and it was great that gluten free pizzas were catered for too. There was a perfect dance floor area that came with disco lights and the fairy lights and candles created such a perfect atmosphere. Thankyou so much to everyone at The Cellar- I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to host a private party in Chester!

We had use of the events room for our wedding party and can honestly say that we had a fantastic time. The venue is beautiful and the staff were fantastic. We would highly recommend!

We hosted our wedding party after eloping at the Cornerhouse function room and had the most incredible time. Sophie, Emma and all of the team were incredible in the run up and making sure the day ran as smoothly as possible. The food was brilliant, beautifully laid out and so tasty. The space is truly just beautiful and really doesn’t need too much decorating which is fab. The whole event was stress free and I would recommend the space to anyone!

I recently shot a party in the function room. The staff were amazing and so friendly. And the food was on another level! The couple who hired me said that the food was one of the most important things to them, and that The Cornerhouse was renowned for their sharing boards. They were NOT wrong!!

We celebrated our pre wedding drinks at The cornerhouse on Saturday and would highly reccomend! The fact they hire the room upstairs for free is amazing and to have your own dedicated bar and staff was brilliant. We opted for one of their food packages and everything was delicious. If anyone is thinking if having an event here you won't be disappointed. Thanks to Sophie and all of the team!

I’ve been here a few times with some friends for the Prosecco and Pottery classes and have absolutely loved every one of them. The team is lovely, the atmosphere is brilliant and the pottery making is so fun. Would highly recommend!

Really nice pub but some people vaping inside which spoils it. Vaping needs to be banned in pubs. Thank you for the response. It is a tricky subject and seems alot of pubs allow it which is not good. Good to know it's not allowed in The Mount Inn, as you have a really nice pub and great staff. Thank You.

The mount is a great pub, reasonably priced drinks, stunning views across the river dee with terraced gardens, good service and friendly landlord. They also show all the sport.

This place is such a friendly place in town! My mates and I have visited in the past for a few pints and drunk karaoke and we had a blast! Would recommend for drunk karaoke nights! haha

Called in here for a pint on the way home. There isn't much choice of ales just the basics. They do offers on shots and gin. The pub only reopened in December 2022. They definitely don't do food here at all drinks only with a pool table.

Don't go all that often but honestly can't complain. When we do the service is good the outside area is adequate the pub is clean and there's a nice atmosphere 😊 the open mic night is an absolute hit! Great local talent and fab hosts.

Very quiet since opening up again. Pool table. Clean. Wheelchair access. Outside seating . No food. Cheap drinks (ish) . Nice quiet owner. No parking

Friendly landlord and staff, very welcoming feel to the place. Recently started doing food and our first experience was great - very nice steak, cheaper than Weatherspoons (somehow!) but every bit as good. Jackrabbit merlot is one of the best wines we've had in a pub, and at £13 a bottle it's a bargain. Will definitely be back regularly!

Top service good batter. Land Lord and land lady have a great sense of humour. Good to see the pub open again.

Went there on Saturday to attend a 60th birthday party. It's a really nice pub with plenty of tv sets on the wall for watching sports. Good selection of beers.

This place is great, a traditional boozer, friendly staff, not expensive and a large, external seating area at the neck that is comfortable and heated.

£3.30 for a pint of tasty Shropshire Gold beer. Terrific. The pub is totally unspoilt by progress.

Great boozer with a warm welcome feel. Good selection of ales at very reasonable prices. Staff are great. Sky sports on multiple TVs & pool 🎱/ dart's. Outside beer garden is set off with summer House's type unit's that are furnished with TV's. Highly recommend a visit.

Excellent little pub. Great beer garden for the summer. Nice little snug areas. Good selection of ales,lagers and ciders. Shows sports and plays good retro music. Good prices and friendly landlord and lady. Only improvement would be some craft beers and better wines.

Great place to go for Sunday lunch. Had a table available at short notice too, without booking beforehand. Good atmosphere, well worth a visit.

Exceptional as always. Stayed here a few times in the last 12 months. Food is always amazing, staff and customers very friendly along with excellent location. I just cannot fault this place at all…… Stayed in the little cottages (number 17) attached along with the four poster room at the back (27) and had an amazing stay throughout. Made some lovely memories and cannot wait to visit again.

Returning customer, usualy daytime but this time evening, just as welcoming and friendly clientèle, several real ales 🍺 including those brewed on site. Will be back. Well, back again early afternoon, quick visit went to a few hours. Recommended.

Best onion rings I ever had! The cottage pie and french onion soup were pretty dang good too. Very reasonably priced, authentic decor. Looked very much like a period pub, from the layout and design, to the exposed wood beams that could have been anywhere from 40 to 400 years old.

Lovely food and great service the staff work very hard as it was always busy. We tried to get in for food on the Saturday night but couldn't get in anywhere as Chester races was on so everywhere was booked up.

Could not fault the food and ambience in the restaurant. The staff where attentive but not intrusive. The garlic mushrooms with crispy egg was to die for. The veggie option pie was cheese and onion and was filled to the top within a tasty and crispy crust. The restaurant is so much better than the bar in the same building

Beautiful 500 year old pub. Dog friendly. Typical pub menu but food was all delicious and good value. Great atmosphere.

Visited this with my partner and were completely awestruck by the sheer *vibes* this place exudes. Had some great cocktails and a chat with the bar staff who then gave us some local recs. Awesome. Long may it continue!

Can't believe I've missed this for the last 7 years! 😲 Hidden away it's a gem of a bar. Jazz, wines, malt whisky and even a few craft beers in cans. And super friendly. Top gaff Aled! 😁👍

Superb little jazz bar hidden away from the main thoroughfare. Friendly staff and some fantastic Jazz tunes.

Small, intimate, relaxed social bar. Playing great jazz tunes on a record player. Good selection of drinks. Well worth a visit!

What a fabulous cocktail bar / party bar. We went there late evening for a few drinks and ended up dancing the night away grateful love the place. They had live music and then a DJ later. This sounds a bit weird but the toilets were fabulous too 😆

Can't honestly say there was anything particularly wrong with kahiki it just wasn't my idea of a good time. The staff were all really good, especially the guy who served me and the place is well looked after, so I'm certainly not trying to put people off. It's just loud music isn't my thing. You're also going to need deep pockets if you are staying for more than one drink.

Came here for my birthday on a cocktail crawl across Chester and Kahiki was definitely a highlight of the night! Staff were absolutely lovely and gave my party 25% off as one of my friends is an industry worker, so that was incredibly kind of them. They were also kind enough to offer us free shots, but my boyfriend doesn’t drink so the bartender even made him a mocktail shot that looked identical to our alcoholic ones! The music is always fab and the bathroom was super clean and stocked with essentials (including a disco button), not to mention a delicious cocktail menu too. Absolutely made my birthday, will definitely be back here.

The place is decorated beautifully, the drinks were amazing (kahiki do the best cocktails in Chester imo) our bartenders Em + Hannah were amazing, they were so kind and professional and patient. In the ladies bathroom there is a big red button you press that turns on a disco ball and plays a song its very fun. Deffo our new fave bar

We wanted to leave a review to say a massive thank you to all the staff at Kahiki - particularly Martin and Adam. We’d had a guy hovering near our table and weren’t sure if something had happened to our drinks. However, the bar staff changed our drinks immediately and when we told Adam (security) he informed Martin (manager) and they both took us aside to ask questions and check the CCTV. Thankfully, nothing had happened to our drinks but it is so reassuring to know that we were taken seriously! It makes a huge difference to be in a bar and know that the staff really are there to keep you safe, particularly as a group of girls being out. Thank you so much and we’ll definitely be back!😊😊

We booked a table on a quiet night and the service from Em and Jonny was impeccable. They really looked after us and made sure we had enough of their lovely, perfectly made cocktails. The 2 for 1 happy hour was an amazing deal and we really enjoyed our time. We definitely recommend visiting Kahiki and we will be back!

This is a bus stop close to a pub called "Ye Olde Kings Head". It's fine if you're looking to catch a bus but if you want food and drink you'd probably be better off visiting the pub instead.
