(Translated by Google) Located in the same building as the Campinas municipal library, this museum hosts traveling art exhibitions. It has only three rooms, which are quite large, but there are very few works on display, so a visit should last less than half an hour. I found it to be an underutilized place, but if you are passing by, it is worth visiting to check out the works on display. Admission is free. (Translated by Google) Today I went to the MACC, and I can't understand the lack of respect shown to the museum's visitors. I checked the app and it said the museum was open for visits. When I got there, I was met with a "sign" saying it was closed. Is it too much work to let people know through the app???? Or is it just a lack of consideration and respect for the public???? Or is it just negligence? After all, public servants don't have to worry about whether people who leave their homes will be able to visit or not???????? It's sad to see how culture is mistreated.

City park
Hiking area
Parque Portugal, also known as Portugal Park, is a popular city park located in the heart of Campinas. It features a picturesque lagoon called Lagoa do Taquaral and offers various recreational facilities such as walking paths, sports courts for basketball, volleyball, and soccer, as well as an inner track around the lagoon. The park is surrounded by lush greenery and is a great spot for outdoor activities like walking, running, and cycling.
The best park! It was a very hot day but the park is so greeny. I walked in a shade of those big trees, met couple of capybaras enjoying their weekend. The most iconic seems to be a big Protugese style boat at the north of the park.
Borworn B — Google review
Nice park. I liked how the streets were closed off for a running event. It was a nice run around the beautiful streets and lake. Plenty of vendors for some refreshments.
Dave H — Google review
Nice park. Lots of cool local flora and lots of cappybara running around. The little food stands are also nice. We got coconut water and some ice cream and both were delicious. The panda statues at the playground are pretty creepy though...
Brandon S — Google review
If you love capybaras, you can't find a better place to go. Dozens of these friendly rodents roam around the lake. They won't let you touch them or even feed them, but they will let you pretty close. I have a video about it on my YT channel: Curves on the road
Jana C — Google review
Better with family. This is an excellent spot for running, offering wide and varied trails with spots of shade at all times of day, the path was not paved in all places and so it may be muddy in the rain. There is a big ship to explore and beautiful plants. There were paddle boats but they had a cost to try. And some play equipment for kids. Depending on your disposition, this may not be the best place to go if you have limited time. There is not much that distinguishes it from any other large park in the world and it is not well maintained. It was hot and few places to buy water so come prepared.
Benjamin S — Google review
A nice (green) park, kinda small one but still nice, well kept, kids friendly, well located, overcrowded in weekends, parking may be troublesome.
Woody A — Google review
This is a very big park, with no entrance fee! I was impressed to see capybaras chilling everywhere. There is a Planetarium, but i advise to first check out the opening hours. There's a huge ship you can get on and several food stalls with delicious snacks.
Noelia C — Google review
Definitely my favorite park in Campinas! Amazing green scenery views, river, trees, capybaras everywhere. Delicious Açaí and ice cream are the bonus. Very clean and animal friendly park. There are many street cats but they love people and people take care of them too. One of my father in law's cats is from this park and he named her "Serena".

(Translated by Google) The planetarium is open on Sundays for only two sessions for the public, at 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. During the week, it apparently only has sessions for schools. We bought tickets without any problems on Sunday from 2 pm onwards and waited for the session (the price is relatively affordable, only R$10 for a full ticket in cash, a little more expensive with credit card). The session was interesting and the monitors were friendly. However, there was no air conditioning in the room... and, shortly before the end of the session, the power went out and everyone had to leave... They even wanted to give us new tickets for a future session, but since I was only a tourist in Campinas, I didn't get them. Unfortunately, when there is a lack of funds to maintain public facilities, this is the situation... The admission prices may be low, but there is indifference in the maintenance of the spaces. This is a reflection of the same situation in the entire Parque Portugal... a shame, because it is a beautiful place, just like the Planetarium, and could deserve more care.

(Translated by Google) My experience was very good because I was a bit lucky. I went to the special holiday session and was the last one to get in. The next session was packed. The only two employees, despite being overworked because they have to take care of everything, treat everyone very well. The show lasts about 30 minutes. It was my first time at a planetarium, but I thought the images and projections used were a bit old. I believe they are original from the planetarium's inauguration, but they could be updated. However, this doesn't ruin the experience, which is really cool. It's worth checking out! A sessão seguinte estava lotada. Vale a pena conhecer!

Randomly met this square and was really impressed! Can sit there and just stay chill for an hour easily

A simple and limited space, still nice and good for the kids. Very beautiful trees, amazing palm trees, a simple and small playground, a 'gim' space, might be good for rollers and skating... Nice space withing such urbanized area of the city.

This park was nice-looking from afar. Once i got there, i felt unsafe as there were drunk/drugged people sleeping over the grass.

This is a great public place. I visited during a "Chefes na Praça" event and even then with so many people, the area was clean. Not too much parking around, but we took an Uber. It also has some nice scenery, a gazebo, and a small pond. Great place to just walk or relax.

Quiet park. Do not expect too muh. It is a nice place to relax, but remember that in Brazil ambulatory commerce is very frequent. Do not feel intimidated by this.

It’s a great place where you can give for a wander, get something to eat or buy yourself or someone a gift. HOWEVER, after its renovations it became very confusing and difficult to locate a specific shop, not to say your car! The parking lot is always packed and there’s no staff member to assist or organise the traffic.

The Exploratory Science Museum could be enhanced by improving its infrastructure and incorporating a more comprehensive scientific agenda. Situated in the bustling Barao Geraldo area, it offers intriguing scientific experiments that captivate children's interest. Nevertheless, the museum would benefit from better accessibility to knowledgeable staff for assistance with explanations. With its remarkable panoramic vistas and adherence to legal regulations, this museum is an excellent destination for those seeking a blend of education and entertainment.
If you are interested in science and new discoveries, you should visit the Exploratory Museum here in Campinas. An environment where minds already formed by years of Scientific Studies coexist with the developing minds of children. Come visit!

Nice view of the surroundings. Outdoor science exhibits are very interesting. Some optical scopes on height-adjustable mounts are available, but very low powered and not very well kept. Possible to see all the way to Castelo neighbourhood; Shopping Galleria; Sambaíba; Cidade Universitária II and Dalbem Barão Geraldo - with a proper, good quality scope. On-site parking is all but non-existent (5 spots), so street parking is the only option if the place is even minimally busy. Ample lawn surrounding the weather station.

Campinas Shopping, established in 1994, is a prominent retail center in the city with around 200 stores, a Carrefour hypermarket, a cinema complex, and a diverse food court. Additionally, it offers covered parking for cars and motorcycles. The space also includes service alleys housing various amenities such as Poupatempo, Detran, a gym, currency exchange services, and more.
Being from the USA I was greeted with much friendliness and I was given much assistance with everything I needed, thank you Campinas shopping center, you rock 🙏👍
Donald P — Google review
The shopping has some nice stores and a good food court. It's just like any other decent mall, and better than Dom Pedro for example. Two things I didn't like: 1) The access to the mall is terrible. There are few signs and you have to actually drive quite a lot by car to get to the entrance. We were in a resort just on the other side of the highway and it took us like 10 minutes to drive up there. It's just ridiculous. 2) The allowance they give when you have lunch there is only up to a certain time of the day (I think it was 14:30), but you must be _out_ of the mall by that time, NOT by the time you pay your ticket. It was ridiculous because I got the stamp on my parking ticket at like 14:25 and the clerk told me to run as fast as possible cause otherwise I would be blocked on the way out. I had two kids and a stroller so it was quite hard to do that, and I would have done differently should I knew this retarded restriction.
Daniel T — Google review
The Poupatempo public-bureaucracy service-centre (with its superhelpful staff) is the only reason I come to this average shopping centre. It's next to the intersection of the Anhanguera and Santos Dumont highways, but not well connected to them on leaving - it's a tortuous route through urban streets to be able to head north on Anhanguera.

(Translated by Google) This is the ideal entrance and, incidentally, the only one where bicycles, roller skates, electric scooters, skateboards, and similar items are allowed. The space was specifically designed for this purpose, as these "toys" are not welcome at the other entrances. Here you'll also find volleyball, basketball, beach soccer, and artificial turf courts, as well as showers to cool off after your ride. The side of the entrance is well-shaded, offering a welcome shade on the hottest days. But be aware: the path designated for activities has no trees, so if the sun is strong, be prepared. In the end, it's well worth a visit; there are options for everyone and guaranteed fun for the whole family.
