Ibirapuera Park is a renowned urban park in Sao Paulo, often compared to Central Park. It offers a serene escape from the bustling city, with beautiful landscaping and architecture designed by Oscar Niemeyer. The park features museums, a planetarium, auditoriums, and recreational areas with bike paths and courts. Despite being highly urbanized, it provides an opportunity to experience Brazilian nature with diverse native fauna and flora.
Went to Sao Paulo for work and visited this park. Its a perfect oasis in middle of bustling traffic muddled city. It has few lakes, jogging tracks and cycling tracks. Wonderful views of city skyline. Museum entrance is also near gate 10. Small kiosks all around the park selling coconut water and other refreshments.
Jaimin G — Google review
Largest park in the city, it has nice roads for running and walking along with bicycle lines. It has a lake with River with plenty of grass areas to just sit and relax. We enjoyed it in a sunny day on Sunday and lots of people go to exercise and work out. Lots of local people just enjoying with their families Park has plenty of small stores to get snacks, water and natural coconut water which is great, however did not see a larger restaurant to get meals, just mobile spots for quick grab and go. There are public bathroom but can get crowded Green areas and well maintained although they could be better, trees are mostly tropical. There is a museum, planetary and Japanese site but did not go to those.
Living P — Google review
I truly had a memorable day here, filled with joy and discovery. The blend of sport, leisure, and art offered a warm, inviting atmosphere that made me feel nice. Don't miss the Biennale; it's a cool experience. Take a leisurely jog among the locals and relax by sipping fresh coconut milk straight from its shell—simple moments that can bring so much joy.
Máté S — Google review
We really enjoyed this park, went there for the visit one day and went back and walked almost around the entire loop. Love all the birds, ducks, Ingrids and other spices. We really enjoyed watching all the people get involved in different activities and plenty to do there for all ages, but I really loved looking at the fauna and the flora. The trees were incredible. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Cindy L — Google review
It’s an absolute pleasure to walk in this park but keep in mind it’s huge. Plenty of cafes and shops to buy a fresh coconut or any other drinks, lots of bench’s to sit and relax or just watch people performing different instruments in the nature. I saw a lot of families spending time here with kids or having a meal. Definetly worth walking around
Gabriela B — Google review
Lovely park with varied green spaces, you can hire a bike or quad style bike with separated lanes. There are plenty of stands for snacks and the ever present coconut water. There is a japanese garden and a planetarium and art gallery all located inside the park. Loads to do you can easily spend a whole day here.
Shenol L — Google review
I have to say this is one of the best parks I've ever been to. From coconut water stands, to acai spots, and great running tracks. A great place for grounding in a concrete jungle.

Ona warm Sunday, the park is a giant playground for adults and kids alike. Crowded and friendly a great place to just hang out

Museums
The Museum of Art of São Paulo Assis Chateaubriand, also known as MASP, is an iconic building that houses one of Latin America's most important art collections. Designed by Lina Bo Bardi in the mid-1960s, this glass-and-concrete gem is located on Avenida Paulista and offers a wonderful collection of European and Latin American art.
The Museum of São Paulo is a great place to spend a few hours if you enjoy history and culture. The exhibits cover many aspects of Brazil’s past and present, but the highlight for me was the art on the second floor focused on racism. It is powerful, emotional, and thought-provoking—something everyone should see. The museum is well-organized, easy to walk through, and gives you a deeper understanding of the city and its people. Definitely worth a visit.
Gaurav J — Google review
The long, Brutalist structure looms over Paulista Avenue, its weighty monumental form seemingly suspended on flaming-red concrete piers. More than just architecture, it’s an urban sculpture—bold, functional, and commanding. Beneath its vast undercroft, a public plaza unfolds, a space carved from the very air it hovers over. The top floor houses the museum’s permanent collection—where space and display become their own form of functional art. Hundreds of paintings—modern, avant-garde, contemporary, and classical—seem to float on crystal easels, creating an eerie, almost transcendental effect. This unconventional display allows viewers to see both the front and back of each piece, transforming them from static, two-dimensional works into dynamic, almost sculptural objects. It’s an experience that feels refreshingly out of the box. This museum is idiosyncratic and breathtaking at the same time. Highly recommended.
Eddie C — Google review
This might be the most exciting fine art museum I’ve ever seen — and not because of its extraordinary collection, but because of how the artworks are presented. Take a moment to read about why the architect chose to display them this way — it’s truly unique, and the experience stays with you long after you leave.
Máté S — Google review
Third time here, always a great experience. Tons of art from different time periods and cool exhibitions, and I love how the permanent collection in the “original” museum on the top floor is staged in clear boxes. Worth going every day but especially when free on Tuesdays!!!
Christian C — Google review
A great museum to visit in Sao Paulo. If you just have time only for one museum this should be the one. A stunning architectural structure by the modernist Italian born Brazilian architect Lina Bo Bardi finished in 1968. In the first and second floor the paintings are just hold by a very clever glass structure which makes them look like they are swing from above. The glass structure gives you also to see the back of the painting and enjoy the piece of art from every side. A very unique display and I must say the best way you can present paintings. A beautiful must see museum of Art which accommodates Picasso, Mattisse, Monet, El Greco, Velasquez, Rubens, Tintoretto, Max Ernst and many more.
Marios T — Google review
It's nice museum and worth visiting, only I think they could put little bit more things there.
Jallal — Google review
Perhaps the most iconic building of São Paulo, Lina Bo Bardi’s MASP was a total shock when it was constructed in the 1960’s. The unparalleled design mixes a suspended main body which frees up space for a public plaza which serves as well as the roof for two more floors that opens to the opposite side of Avenida Paulista. The iconic open space of the second floor’s gallery once again holds the Works of art in glass and concrete bases.
Carlos O — Google review
It's huge! A well done museum. They have a permanent exhibit upstairs and some seasonal exhibits on other floors. When I was there, the temporary exhibits were amazing wooden sculptures and Monet. 💸Buy your tickets ahead of time. Somehow we got in for free on a Friday night, but wr aren't sure if it was a special day or a menu option, so check around the ordering website.

Beco do Batman, also known as Batman Alley, is a vibrant and compact area in Vila Madalena, Sao Paulo. It is famous for its cobbled alleyways adorned with colorful graffiti art. This spot boasts the highest concentration of street art in the city, featuring various styles from renowned Brazilian artists like Eduardo Kobra and Os Gemeos.
This was a pleasant surprise. This area was on our list of places to visit while in São Paulo but was low on our list. We finally visited on our last day as a “time killer” before the airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Fun neighborhood with great energy, fun art everywhere and good food options. We visited during the week and mid day. It was not busy and very comfortable. I would recommend it.
Scott M — Google review
Beco do Batman in Vila Madalena is a must-see if you like street art or just want to feel São Paulo’s creative pulse. It’s not big—just a few alleys—but every wall is alive with murals that change constantly. Some are loud and political, others just wild bursts of color. The art isn’t locked behind glass; it’s raw, textured, and right at your fingertips. It can get crowded, especially on weekends when photographers, tourists, and live painters all pack the space. But that’s part of the vibe—it feels more like a living, breathing gallery than a tourist stop. Go early in the morning if you want cleaner shots and fewer people. Good shoes help on the cobblestones.
Gaurav J — Google review
I visited Beco do Batman last weekend with two co-workers, and it was such a memorable experience. The entire alley is alive with color, energy, and creativity—every wall is covered in incredible street art that feels more like an open-air gallery than just graffiti. We spent a lot of time wandering, taking photos, and just admiring the constantly changing artwork. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, with locals and visitors mingling, and plenty of small cafés and bars nearby to grab a drink afterward. It’s also easy to explore on foot, and you’ll find new details around every corner. If you’re in São Paulo, I’d absolutely recommend adding Beco do Batman to your list. It’s not just sightseeing—it’s an experience that captures the city’s artistic spirit in such a fun way.
Norm N — Google review
Beco do Batman is an incredible open-air gallery and one of São Paulo’s most vibrant attractions. The walls are covered with ever-changing street art, showcasing everything from bold graffiti to detailed murals, making every visit feel unique. It’s a fantastic place to walk around, take photos, and appreciate the creativity and talent of local and international artists. The neighborhood also has plenty of cool cafés and shops nearby, which adds to the experience. A must-see spot for anyone visiting São Paulo!
Jason O — Google review
Cool area with lots of food stalls and interesting bars on the street. It gets very busy but definitely worth a visit and sit outside to watch the world go by.
Justin — Google review
A definite must-visit in Sao. The street art is absolutely amazing and there are a few bars where ypu cna chill and relax. Make sure you visit early in the morning as it can get crowded later during the day.

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo stands as a testament to Brazil's rich artistic heritage, making it one of the country's oldest and most significant art museums. Nestled in a stunning neoclassical structure originally designed for the School of Arts and Crafts, this museum showcases an impressive collection that ranges from 19th-century Brazilian paintings and sculptures to contemporary works. Its history is intertwined with various historical events, including conflicts in the early 20th century, which adds depth to its narrative.
Beautiful art museum! Museum has 3 levels, there is also a balcony on the front and back of the building on the 3rd level that has a nice view of the street and in the back a nice view of the park. I would make sure that if you are outside in the street don’t stay for long or take your phone out at all. There are many many homeless people in the area that steal from people regularly.
Brandon H — Google review
Definitely worth paying R30 for this museum as it has so many exhibitions and they were all amazing! The exhibitions were also in English and made it so much easier for us to enjoy! The ticket also includes the contemporary art in another building. We ended up spending over 2 hours here but could’ve easily spend half a day here. Highly recommend this to everyone!
James P — Google review
I enjoyed this art museum. It has a nice mix of old art and contemporary art. The only artist I actually knew about before visiting is a Rodin statue. But it was fun to learn more about Brazilian artists. I was hoping to visit some other art museums but all the other museums were closed on Monday...But the Pinacoteca was open! They get an extra star just for being open on the day I was in town. The gardens around the museum are beautiful and peaceful. But the restaurant had a long line so I did not get to eat there.
Daniel K — Google review
I loved this gallery. The exhibits are diverse, well curated, and educational for those new to Brazilian artists. There’s a cafe and shop worthy of stops, too. Highly recommend!
Masen D — Google review
Amaizing! The place is huge, recomend to spend several hours admiring all the art pieces. Very close to metro station, wakable distance

My favourite art museum in Sao Paulo! It's huge as well, reserve at least 2 hours to visit. The expositions change constantly, so it's always worth it to visit.

Specialty Museums
Museu do Futebol is a unique sports museum located in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It stands out as the only museum in the world exclusively dedicated to football, independent of any specific club. The museum features a multimedia collection, interactive exhibits, and references to significant moments in Brazilian history during the 20th century. With an investment of R $32.5 million, it has become one of the city's major tourist attractions.
The tour around the museum is short, bit it's definitely worth a visit, especially if you're a football fan. The history is quite something and there's a souvenir shop on the spot.
Filip M — Google review
Great museum about all aspects of the sport, in all its varieties and historical significances. I think it's worth the visit even for people who don't particularly like the sport in itself. The museum explains the particular Brazilian culture of the football in the bairros. Women's football is also talked about a lot. At the end of the museum, you can make some attempts to score goals yourself. The store on the side is also very varied!
Arne S — Google review
A really good football museum, but be aware that a lot of things aren't translated into English. It's also sustainable for kids so if you have a family you can have for sure a nice interactive experience. I gave 4/5 stars because the museum don't offer english translation and it could be crowded of children. But it's still really interesting and a really good set up.
Vittoria B — Google review
The museum is an interesting place to visit for a few hours. There’s not much written in English, but you can download an audio guide using their free WiFi. Clearly it was great to learn how football was brought to the country by an English man! The exhibits are well constructed and informative. We also got lucky and watched a little football in the stadium that the museum sits in.
Tony P — Google review
I went there twice, and both times I was not disappointed. When I went with my father he was really happy to have gone. Lots of things to see, the evolution of the game, the cleats, the ball, history of all of the clubs in Brazil. Cool activities to try. Plus you can purchase any jersey of any team you like and personalize the jersey. Fun thing to remember the visit.
Willi S — Google review
Great place to visit if you like football & would like to learn about the history of the sport in Brazil. The museum has interactive games, videos & clips of fantastic moments of football. It’s worth a visit.
Mo H — Google review
It is an interesting museum about Brazilian football and worth visiting if you are a football fan.
Yuan Z — Google review
The museum’s interactive exhibits bring the beautiful game to life, showcasing Brazil’s rich football legacy through historic photographs, videos, and memorabilia. Highlights include sections dedicated to legendary players like Pelé, Garrincha, and Zico, as well as emotional moments like World Cup victories. The interactive displays, such as recreating the sounds of a stadium crowd, make the experience truly immersive. It’s not just about football—it also explores its impact on Brazilian culture, identity, and society. Whether you’re a football fan or just curious about Brazil’s greatest passion, the Museu do Futebol is a must-visit when in São Paulo.

Park
São Paulo Botanical Garden, located within the Parque Estadual das Fontes do Ipiranga, is a sprawling 360,000 square feet rainforest housing 380 tree species for research and conservation. The garden boasts a diverse collection of 45,000 plants from various hot and tropical regions around the world.
It's amazing how many time it takes for Brazilians to buy a ticket at the ticket counter. But I think it is cultural... The botanical garden is nothing special to be honest. Actually, it looks like a park with some relics of what use to be a botanical garden. I was expecting wonderfull heliconias, bromelias and orchids, but unfortunately no big deal. The boardwalk was spectacular though. That's why it still earns 5*. We happened to see monkeys near the toilets in the back of the park.
Cornelis A — Google review
A very nice place with a lot of really beautiful plants and some interesting background information in form of a small museum. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon stroll. Takes about 2 hours to see the whole garden.
Ludwig P — Google review
Nice garden to spend a couple of hours in the morning in June. Was hoping for more plants and descriptions but overall still good value if you are into botany. Found out late. Shuttle to zoo only for those that buy combo tickets. Also hard to find anyone that speaks even little English including ticket agent.
Jay P — Google review
If you don't own a car, but you want to connect con nature. This is agreat place to go. It is a botanical garden located in a rest of Mata Atlantica forest. You may go by Uber or even by public transport.
Ulrich F — Google review
Absolutely beautiful oasis of peacefulness. The garden is very well maintained. Some areas are kept wild like the trail at the end of the garden, which adds to the atmosphere. There you can enjoy a piece of the Atlantic rainforest right in the heart of the city. Another great thing about this garden is that you can spot some wildlife, including monkeys and even toucans. Although rare, it took me three attempts to be able to see one, they can be spotted in the garden. I would recommend coming right when the garden opens and to look for fruiting palm trees. They generally mingle there.
Serban V — Google review
Lush and grand. It was quiet with not many people on Friday afternoon. I could pay with credit card at the entrance. The light hit the pond just right. The bamboo forest was very shaded and cooling.

The Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, built in 1911, showcases a blend of Renaissance and baroque architectural styles. It hosts operas, concerts, and ballet performances. Additionally, the theater houses the Museum of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo which collects and preserves historical documents related to the theater's rich history. The museum also features long-term exhibitions on architecture and other related themes.
When asking people what to do in São Paulo everybody recommended to visit the Teatro Municipal, we never expected such a treat. The building is beautiful and then I was informed that the orchestra was performing at 5 o’clock. We bought the tickets and enjoyed the wonderful performance. After the show we walked to de bar under the building for a drink and again we were delighted to listen a quartet playing. Great evening, highly recommended

Instituto Tomie Ohtake is a vibrant art space housed in a striking, curved building that showcases major exhibitions of contemporary art and design. Named after the influential Japanese-Brazilian informal abstractionist Tomie Ohtake, the institute offers an opportunity to explore her works and understand her practice within the context of artistic developments over the last six decades. The futuristic green, pink, and purple exterior designed by Ruy Ohtake makes it one of Sao Paulo's most recognizable buildings.
The building itself is a masterpiece of architecture—modern, elegant, and full of light. Even though I didn’t catch any exhibition, just walking through the space was worth the visit. It’s a place where the walls speak, even when the galleries are quiet.
Ulf D — Google review
My apologies to the artists, but most of this art is some of the lamest I've ever seen. Fluorescent light tubes on the ground, letters, circles, and scribbles. I've seen better art created by 3 year olds. Sure the eye of the beholder but my eyes were shut forcibly as every exhibit put me to sleep. Zzzzz. The only saving grace is the building itself.

An interesting cultural center close to where we were staying in SP. Great yet small current exhibit, plus a wonderful restaurant in the middle of the hall.

Interesting building, worth getting close to appreciate the architecture. The exhibition was a bit sad, though. Small and repetitive.

I went to the Tomie Ohtake Institute today and it was great fun, there were a few interesting art displays to look at. There is also a great restaurant/Cafe on the lower level with plenty of good food. There are also some great places across the road to eat. Entry was free

We recently visited the Murakami exhibit and had lunch at Santinho, the restaurant in the institute. Both were well worth the visit. The exhibit featured a nice selection of recent work from Murakami. Most of the work shown here is part of a series that Murakami has developed since the tragic 2011 earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan’s pacific coast. They differ in subject matter from the artists earlier work, but they feature similar graphic treatments and exquisite attention to details. We really enjoyed it. Our lunch at Santinho was also delicious. They serve an awesome buffet with a mix of traditional Brazilian comfort food, with new creations using common Brazilian ingredients. The buffet includes salads, main course and even desert foods. There are a lot of options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.

The Catedral Metropolitana da Sé de São Paulo is a breathtaking neo-Gothic masterpiece that dominates the skyline of São Paulo. Constructed in the early 20th century, this monumental cathedral can accommodate up to 8,000 worshippers and visitors alike. Its stunning architecture features soaring spires and a Renaissance-style dome, making it an iconic landmark in Cathedral Square. Inside, you'll be mesmerized by exquisite stained glass windows sourced from France and Italy, which cast vibrant colors throughout the vast interior.
The Cathedral of was first started in 1589 in São Paulo Village. It has been demolished and rebuilt several times over the centuries. The current Cathedral was started in 1913 and completed in 1967. It's built with rare marble, granite, wood and stained glass. It has a dome shape entrance with a height of 92 meters. Better to visit with a guide.

São Paulo Cathedral is a majestic neo-Gothic landmark in the heart of the city. Its soaring arches, intricate stained glass, and peaceful atmosphere offer a striking escape from the urban rush outside. Whether you’re into architecture, history, or just seeking a quiet moment, it’s well worth a visit.
Esrf G — Google review
It’s an impressive and beautiful landmark, worth visiting for its architecture and history. I recommend going with a local if possible as the surrounding area has a large homeless presence and I was approached by one person. That said, there was a visible police presence with about four police cars right in front of the cathedral which made me feel safer during the visit.
Marianne M — Google review
Sé Metropolitan Cathedral is definitely a spot worth checking out for anyone who loves to travel and explore historical landmarks. The front of the church is absolutely beautiful, it’s the kind of architecture that makes you pause and admire, especially if you're into photographing iconic places. It’s a must-visit for tourists and travel enthusiasts alike. That said, there are a couple of things that could really elevate the experience. The exterior colors have faded over time and the building would benefit from some maintenance to bring back its original charm. Inside, I found the lighting to be quite dim, which took away from the grandeur of the interior space. Aside from those issues, the rest of the experience is decent. If you’re in São Paulo and have an interest in churches or historical sites, it’s still worth a visit.
Sumit P — Google review
The cathedral itself is great, but there are a lot of homeless people around it. You should be mindful of the surroundings. The entrance to thr cathedral is free, which is also great.

The São Paulo Metropolitan Cathedral, also known as Catedral da Sé, is located right in the city center of São Paulo. Originally constructed in the early 20th century, it recently underwent significant restoration to preserve its stunning neo-Gothic architecture. We just walked by and spent a few minutes inside, and the interior is truly majestic—full of intricate details and beautiful stained glass windows. From a distance, the cathedral’s twin spires and large dome make for a magnificent sight. Entry is free, and it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.
Andrew G — Google review

Located in the heart of Sao Paulo, Farol Santander is a 35-floor skyscraper that offers a variety of cultural experiences and stunning city views. Formerly known as the Banespa building, it now houses the Farol Santander museum, featuring art exhibits and unique dining options like Cafe do 26 and Boteco do 28. The top floors culminate in an observation deck providing breathtaking panoramic views of the city skyline.
You can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city of São Paulo! During my visit, I experienced some fascinating exhibitions about the city's history and its banking system. This month featured showcases on the history of motorbikes and contemporary art. We took a quick two-hour tour, but if you prefer a slower pace to fully take in the exhibits, you could easily spend three hours exploring. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! We visited on a Friday at 12:30 PM and stayed until 2:00 PM. After that, we went to an underground bar!
Yumi N — Google review
A must-visit cultural hub in São Paulo’s historic center! This beautifully restored landmark blends art, history, and stunning city views from its observation deck. Exhibits are engaging, though some floors feel underutilized. The rooftop bar is perfect for sunset drinks. A bit pricey, but worth it for the experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
Gabriel B — Google review
I wouldn’t say this is a must-see in São Paulo unless you’re really out of things to do. The observation deck is on the 26th floor of the Farol Santander building, and while it offers a 360° view, it’s fully enclosed with glass panels, which makes taking good photos pretty tricky. We went around 4 PM, and the view just wasn’t that impressive — at that height, you don’t get a great cityscape or skyline feel. For a city this big, I expected something a bit more striking.
Andrew G — Google review
Farol Santander was a great surprise on our trip. The viewpoints from the 26th floor were really nice. The art exhibits were well done and engaging. I wish there was more English on the history exhibits on the lower floors - speaking no Portuguese we waltzed right through them. Overall I highly recommend this very eclectic experience.

Farol Santander in São Paulo is an incredible mix of history, culture, and breathtaking views. Housed in a beautifully restored Art Deco skyscraper, this iconic building offers something for everyone. The exhibitions inside are diverse, ranging from contemporary art to the history of São Paulo, and they’re always well-curated and engaging. One of the highlights is the observation deck on the top floor, where you get stunning panoramic views of the city—perfect for photos! There’s also a charming café where you can relax while soaking in the atmosphere. Whether you're into art, architecture, or just exploring unique places, Farol Santander is a must-visit.

Great views with some really cool experiences to look at along the way down. Very affordable, very clean and very well guided. We didn’t have a wait, everything felt very safe and easy to get to. Wow, this lighthouse that served as the HQ of the Saō Paulo bank now is an incredible place to visit. With multiple floors that host a bar and restaurant at the top, observation deck, a skate park, art and museum exhibitions, and a historical museum showcasing the former offices housed in the building. Memorial da América Latina, a vast outdoor complex designed by Oscar Niemeyer, showcases sculptures and an art gallery. The tragic fire incidents in São Paulo have caused irreparable losses to cultural monuments like Memorial da América Latina. Since the Butantan tragedy in 2010, MZUSP has undergone extensive renovations to enhance its security systems.
Amazing spot to take in some beautiful pieces of art and relax in the large plaza/courtyard. From the gallery to the public library, everyone is super welcoming and the free exhibits were fantastic. Some beautiful paintings and sculptures scattered around across both sides of the street. I was also there while they were holding a festival/concert and it was amazing with 40-50 different food trucks and a stage setup.

The Museu da Língua Portuguesa, located near Luz station in Brazil, is an interactive museum dedicated to the study of Portuguese language and its development. It showcases the various accents and dialects of Portuguese spoken across Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. The museum's exhibits also explore the influence of other languages on Brazilian Portuguese.
This was wonderful. It's one of the best museums I've been to in my life. It gives a rich cultural exhibition of the Brazillian people and their language. At the moment there is a temporary exhibition on the influence of African languages on Brasil. I hope when it finishes they can add some of the materials into the full exhibition, as it is very well done. My only criticisms were that the temporary exhibition space needs more seating. I was forced to move floors when I needed to sit down.

One of my greatest experiences in São Paulo, I enjoyed every moment over there, I had to pay 25 BRL, but they were absolutely worth it. I would come over and over. My only recommendation would be having signs to know where to start and where to go because it is not very clear where should we start and follow directions.
Carlos N — Google review
Visiting the Portuguese Language Museum was a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The museum is free on Saturdays so it was a bit busy. It is located in the Luz train station which makes it accessible by public transport and interesting to witness the history and architecture of the station. The museum was recently renovated with interactive exhibits. We particularly enjoy the Language of the Immigrants and history/timeline of language development exhibits. We also enjoyed listening to different dialects found throughout various regions of Brazil. It was difficult to hear the audio exhibits due to the noise from the quantity of visitors. There was a long line to enter the museum since it was both a Saturday and entry was free.
Lindsay C — Google review
Unimpressed by the Portuguese Language Museum. It was just nothing special... Some cool stuff, and learning about how language has developed is *kinda* fun, but really not the greatest. It's a small museum, in my opinion overpriced, and not great value for money.
Tywin L — Google review
The museum is wonderful, and its didactic approach feels very up to date. It has a lot to offer and showcases the Portuguese language on different levels and in many fascinating ways. There are interactive tools, videos, and insights into the complex history of language development. Right at the beginning, on the top floor, there is a cinema hall and an immersive room experience. Unfortunately, my level of Portuguese is not quite sufficient to fully grasp everything in depth. Still, I was able to take away the poetry of the language. Yet here lies a small drawback of the museum: it’s a pity that it isn’t more accessible to international visitors, as it is very much geared towards local and school classes. That’s completely understandable and also quite charming. But at times the balance feels a bit uneven, since there are no signs, brochures, tour guides, or introductions available in English that would make access a bit more inclusive.
S M — Google review
Great museum with a lot of fascinating, immersive content. As someone who does not speak Portuguese, I was able to use Google translate to understand everything. Excellent exhibits and worth visiting.
Philip H — Google review
I loved being there and seeing all the amazing exhibits. It is a beautiful place. However it was very chaotic. Lots of sounds of numerous exhibits were on top of one another. At points it was hard to take. I couldn’t find a way to get any translations of anything. But it’s still certainly worth a visit for anyone, regardless of your native language.
Hans S — Google review
Beautiful Exhibition. It was very interesting and informative. Very interactive with modern elements and nicely laid out. It was free of cost (at least on the Saturday afternoon in March that I visited). Located inside the same building as a train station that is also a beauty on its own. There's also a coffee shop on the premises and a beautiful partk and another exhibit right across the street, so there's much to do in one location for an afternoon out. Definitely recommend as a fun thing to do in Sao Paulo.

Parque Villa-Lobos, situated in the Alto de Pinheiros neighborhood, is a sprawling park that draws around 8,000 visitors on weekdays and up to 60,000 on weekends. Named after a renowned Brazilian composer, it spans 732,000 square meters and boasts a variety of attractions such as soccer fields, bike paths, playgrounds, an amphitheater and even a library.
Parque Villa-Lobos It was a great area to explore in Sao Paulo. There’s a lot of food options and activities inside the area. It was fun to run and do exercise inside the park. I was surprised that there is gym equipment, tennis courts, and a lot of things. When I visited, it was not that busy and there were families having picnics. I had an acai and burger which is near the entrance of the park. They also had water fountains in different areas.

This is an amazing park! Free entry with lots of great food vendors/trucks (I love the pamonha!), and a full library with a cafe. They have basketball, tennis, volleyball, and soccer courts, a playground, and an outer and inner path for running (the outer path is around 2 miles), walking, biking, etc. There are bycicles, skates, and 2 person bikes for rent at the front of the park as well. Visiting to this park is always a joyful experience. Whether you're there to get in a workout or spend time with your family, there is so much to experience!

I recently visited Parque Villa-Lobos in São Paulo on a rainy Sunday morning for my long run, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! This park is an absolute gem for runners and bikers alike. The 3.5 km / 2.2 mi loop provided the perfect track for my run, with scenic views and well-maintained paths. What's more, the availability of restrooms and a filtered water station made my experience even more convenient. And to top it off, vendors selling fresh coconut water were a delightful treat post-run. Rain or shine, Parque Villa-Lobos is the ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Five stars without a doubt!

Although the organizers underestimated the buzz and amount of people who were really interested on going to the WTA SP OPEN, which made it impossible for us, real WTA tennis fans, to buy all the tickets we wanted as everything was instantly sold, unfortunately, to scalpers, who clearly didn't even passed on all their tickets.... Even so, everything else worked fine, we could see that the organizers really tried to do the best they could for the players and spectators. We had a lot of fun and it was a really great experience seeing our Brazilian tennis idols and other professional players so close! The only thing that got me sad was that we didn't get to see Luiza's game because the court didn't have numbered chairs and it was too crowded!
Carolina P — Google review
A beautiful, big, dynamic park with tons of things to do and to walk around. There were lots of people jogging, training, taking selfies, biking around, having a delicious coconut, etc. There’s also the biggest wheel in Latin America apparently, or one of the biggest ones. This Art Museum is home to rotating exhibitions of famous artists, and was recently visited by the famed artist Ai Weiwei. The museum is interesting for its unusual architecture which looks like traditional indigenous huts.
Really cool place that shows different kinds of exhibits/experiences throughout the year. We went for the Harry Potter exhibition which was pretty cool.

Oca is definitely an iconic building inside Ibirapuera Park. At the outside it seem small, but when you get inside there are several floors including lower ground level. I have the opportunity to visit here, when WCEF hosted the event.

The exhibit was quite nice but the security guard was super rude and made me wait outside in the cold for my Uber for 30 minutes even though I repeated showed him my ticket and that I had paid. Not sure what his problem was.

Great Weiwei exhibition, Jan 2019.
Marko M — Google review
I visited during August 2018, the enormous venue was almost empty. The only exhibition was of a fresco that had been covered by a wall for a long time and recently re discovered in 2014. The building itself is interesting architecturally, it fells like you are on the inside of a UFO, it looks the part from the outside too. From the inside looking through the round windows the framing of the outside Ibirapuera park look wonderfull. Its worth stepping in for a quick walkthrough.

A space for events and cultural exhibitions, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, part of the Ibirapuera Park architectural project. Inspired on the indigenous collective houses (thus the tupi name "oca"), it could use a restoration project on the outside. It was well-organized when we went to the Tim Burton art exhibit.

You can’t know if it is open or not. We arrived mid day travelling from the city center. To celebrate a birthday of my husband we booked in advance the tea room for 26 adults ! We were very disappointed with what we remembered a few years ago of the service that the dar call the English Tea party ! The service was terrible , at 3 o’clock without announcing anything they put on a sideboard , 3 tea pots . No one knew if you had help yourself or somebody was coming to serve you . Some saw the tea pots and went to help themselves ; what was the tea pots was water for tea but cold , Coffee also cold and Hot chocolate , that was also cold …,,The service was poor because there was One waiter for our event who had also to take care of the guests that were seated on the other tables who were not our guests ….! It was a mess!!!! At the end of the two hours that was supposed to last the party the started serving the English pastry , that was the only thing that reminded us of the English Tea that they used to serve 25 years ago ! And they brought the sweets just when the people were leaving ……..What a disappointment for us and for the guests !!

Fantastic place inside of São Paulo. The brunch is expensive, but it’s worth every cent. The place was the former house of an entrepreneur, converted in a brunch place, art gallery and park. It’s nice to take a walk, eat, take another walk, eat again (repeat). You can park your ride inside the park, no need to worry about that.

The architectonic relevant house transformed in museum with some beautiful peaces, with one downside, you cant take pictures inside the house. There's a really cozy cafe and a surprising park really worth visiting, and on selected Sundays they concerts. I recommend.

Beautiful building and garden, but the brunch could be better. The breads could be fresher and better quality. It is missing more care with the food. Nestled in the vibrant heart of São Paulo, the Solar da Marquesa de Santos is a captivating historic manor house that showcases an impressive evolution of architectural styles from the 18th century. Originally built in colonial style, this remarkable structure has undergone several renovations, resulting in its striking neoclassical facade. Inside, visitors can marvel at archaeological windows that reveal various construction techniques used throughout its history, from traditional rammed earth to modern brickwork.
…………This beautiful manor-house now turned into a museum the once residence of the Marquesa of Santos “Domitilia de Castro” show how this building has transformed since its beginnings in the 18th century. Lots of details are to be observed in the architectural works and also there are lots of details explaining the excavation works which took place over many years unearthing many artifacts of the possessions of this important lady in the history of Sao Paulo. There are bits of cups, plates and many more things like keys etc, etc. Some of the original brick-works are preserved and framed out so visitors can have a glimpse of how it was back in the day. Many statues lay on the floor in the foyer so one has an understanding of how well this place must have been decorated in its interior and exterior grounds. An intriguing museum with the entree-fee being free of charge. It’s worth a visit as it’s only a stones through from the founders square…..

Museu do Ipiranga, located on the Ipiranga slope near the Ipiranga stream, holds great historical significance as it was the site where Brazil declared its independence from Portugal in 1822. The museum is set amidst beautiful French-style gardens inspired by Versailles and offers a rich exploration of Brazilian culture and history. Visitors can enjoy free admission to this beautifully renovated museum, which also provides accessibility features such as elevators, braille labels, and tactile artworks for the visually impaired.
Love this place! So beautifully shares so many historical artifacts and stories about Brasil 🇧🇷. Love how multiple perspectives are shared from early European settlers to natives and the development over time. So glad I came, highly recommend, and look forward to returning to catch some exhibits that were closed.

The Mercado Municipal Paulistano, also known as Mercadao, is a historic market located in the old city center of Centro. Built in the 1930s, this magnificent market hall features skylights and stained-glass windows and is bustling with vendors offering rare fruits, vegetables, dairy produce, meat, fish, and more.
The Mercado Municipal de São Paulo is a large wholesale market and retail post specializing in food products. The ground floor has shops, where as the top floor mostly has restaurants. What makes it special is the iconic building, with stained glass windows. Several architects have worked on it over the years to make it a special structure and it has been renovated and extended in 2004. It's a very busy place with shops selling fruits, vegetables, cereals, meats, spices, cheese etc. Best way to view it is to stand on the first floor and watch the hustle bustle going on down below. It's definitely an interesting place to visit in São Paulo, better as a guided tour.

Interesting experience and many options to try and choose from. Just know that when they offer you samples, you will end up buying stuff and they don’t give you the price until they already wrapped and bagged things. You’ll end up paying 60 USD for 4 piece of fruit, which you can find in typical stores for 10 dollars.
Parihan R — Google review
This is a well-organized and clean market that offers a wide range of goods—from preserved meats, fresh fish, and spices to nuts and other local products. While it seems to have become more of a tourist attraction than a place locals frequent for daily shopping, it’s still worth a visit. The second floor has sit-down restaurants, making it a good spot to take a break and enjoy a proper meal. Prices are reasonable overall. One of the highlights here is the famous mortadella sandwich—a must-try if you’re visiting for the first time. Overall, a nice place to explore local flavors and pick up a few souvenirs or snacks. Just expect a more tourist-oriented vibe.

A good whole days outing . I was generally favourably impressed with the enclosures in relation to their occupants , the only ones I had some reservations about were the Condors & the Harpy Eagles which are such huge birds. The zoo is well laid out & all the exhibits are labelled in both English & Portuguese. Particularly impressed with the bird enclosures & was very , very lucky to attend on the very day that the critically endangered Spix Macaw ( 2 of them ) were released into their new aviary. Some impressive murals on walls around the zoo. Large lake , refreshment outlets & a shop.

We did the night experience at the zoo, where you walk around a night following a dedicated path/ green line through the exhibits of the park. You don’t get to experience everything but you do see a lot! Elephant, giraffes, lions, and a hippo really up close! There is a place to get snacks like popcorn and candy but the other food that’s 1/2 way along your journey looked dried out and nasty. The popcorn was good though!

Paróquia Nossa Senhora do Brasil, a stunning Baroque-style church built in 1940, is dedicated to Lady of Brazil. The design of the church incorporates elements from various remarkable churches around the world, such as ceramic panels reminiscent of St. Basil's in Moscow and towers resembling Muslim minarets. The interior evokes churches in Portugal, while the ceiling features reproductions of paintings from the Sistine Chapel.
Located at the wonderful area, beautiful “Vatican Sistine Chapel’ ceiling, very interesting and unique interior paintwork and design. Very alive and spiritual atmosphere. Regular Masses at the very convenient time. Absolute pleasure to come

So I understand there is a 4 year waiting list for anyone who plans to get married in this church. Also, if you want to baptise your child, from the day you apply, you may have to wait till the child is in his teenage years before it gets to his/her turn 😉 Truly an architectural master piece!
Akan N — Google review
It is a wonderful church. One of the richiest churches in São Paulo. The house of God only open the side doors for people. Front door is only opened for weddings. I went to a 7th day mass last week. The mass was OK, two priests, very impersonal, they did not talk with the family of the deceased before or after the mass. How come the church wants people to come back to the church if their representatives are so distant from their parishers, or potential parishers?
M. L — Google review
It's one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen. However, I wasn't able to explore all It's beauty because there was the mess. Hopefully, I will get another chance to visit it.

Pateo do Collegio is a historic site in São Paulo, originally the location of the city's first Jesuit mission established in 1554. Today, it has transformed into a multicultural space featuring attractions such as the Sao Jose de Anchieta Church, Anchieta Museum, Jesuit Museum of Sacred Art, Padre Antonio Vieira Library, and Cafe do Pateo.
………… Visiting the school-yard as the name says is real-lii a privileged experience, to be standing at the same spot where the founders stood more than 465 years ago when there was probably nothing but jungle here. At that time the Jesuits built a straw structure here. Today there is the beautiful Portuguese Colonial structure that was rebuilt in the ear-lii 1950’s and by the sheer condition of the building it portrays the importance this site and institution still has on the people who frequent and still make use of it. The place and the grounds surrounding it is pristine and in mint condition and the simple yet impressive plague on the wall dedicated to the Apostle Paul by the Jesuits……On the day of our visit here it was a religious public holiday in Sao Paulo in honour of the celebration of “CORPUS CHRISTI” so this venue was closed to the public as they were preparing for a Mass/Service as there was an Altar impressive-lii adorned for the occasion which was scheduled for later in the day, so we were unable to gain access to explore the inside and also see the museum of the city. On the same square just outside there is also the massive stone monument with an obelisk erected in honour of the first Jesuit-priest who administered to the people they came into contact with at that time. If you are in Sao Paulo this venue is a must visit place!......................

FAKE Historic!! Don’t be fooled by these ignorant reviews, although the architecture brings our imagination back to early colonial Brazil, it is nothing, but a replica from the 1970s. The original edification was demolished in the 19th century as it wasn’t imposing enough to house the government.
Sam B — Google review
Pretty and well maintained building with a beautiful garden. You can walk in free of charge.
Florian F — Google review
Undoubtedly the most charming original Jesuit mission built in 1554 as Sao Paolo de Piratininga in the Planalto/tableland of Piratininga between rivers Tamanduatei & Anhangabau.Despite its turbulent past in the aftermath of Jesuit Order being expelled twice from Brasil: first in 1640 but restored in 1653 and once again expelled in 1759 by Marques de Pombal/ Portuguese Gov. but restored by Pope Clement XIV in 1773. As expected the building was neglected and its subsequent dereliction plus changes it suffered as it was used as Government quarters. Adjacent to this is Sao Bento with a charming small chapel to the left where the life of Jose de Anchieta is chartered as he and Padre Manuel da Nobrega are honoured as they built and negotiated their arrival with the local Tamoios indians. Make sure you visit Museum and crypt as the exhibits of maps/ designs, Paulistinhas images, reliquias and do not miss the interesting Kamayura & Waura exhibits of arches, masks, pottery, axes, jewellery and ornaments, etc from the Xingu National Park.
Salvador M — Google review
This place is an amazing history lesson of the city. The main attraction is the museum that shows a series of maps of São Paulo since its foundation, plus a great collection of sacred art from the beginnings of Brazil as a country. The restored church is also worth seeing - the interior looks quite stunning.

Great coffee and service. As a charity linked to the church though they could do better for the homeless population around. For example, if you are not visiting the museum, you have to pay to use the toilets. They should provide basic services for the homeless community.

The architectural significance of the museum buildings adds to its allure. Visitors can explore an array of artistic mediums including paintings, sculptures, installations, and photographs.
It's not really a musuem musuem but more like a gallery that features rotating artists and exhibitions. We went during the time they featured George Love and his photography journey. Got some really good insights. Spent about 2hours here.

This place is not a museum, it is more of an art gallery with a temporary exhibition - 2 rooms in which there are some things that can hardly be called art. There are no descriptions of what they refer to next to the 'works', there is only a note about the author. I did it in less than 18 minutes. Others write about 10 minutes in their opinions. The only plus is that I visited the exhibition on Sunday, when the entrance is free. At least I saved my money. No folders or any informations in english at entrance
Vanalai — Google review
Amazing modern art museum containing some of the most cutting edge pieces of art work in the area. Every year they sponsor new developing artists to showcase their work bringing to light the definition of a modern art museum. Admission prices are extremely low and the staff is extremely friendly. They even sponsored a dance show outside of the museum with street performers form all over the city congregating here to show off their moves. Some of them quite impressive and a large crowd was gathering outside. Inside is a mostly tranquil Oasis and the system was broken so they were letting people in for free as well. There's also no admission on Saturdays which makes it a great spot to swing by and take in the artwork. Parking is plentiful nearby but may fill during peak periods.

Cozy park in the middle of the city. Plenty of space for various outdoor activities, such as running, going for a walk, playing basketball, etc. Special sports equipment is installed, there are separate yards for sports as well. Not sure if they are free for everyone though. A lot of people hanging around with kids, dogs. There are both sunny spots and shadow areas under the trees, so it's a nice place whatever the weather is. The neighbourhood feels safe and clean, the buildings around are modern.

It's a very nice place but I don't like the guards'attitude. They are always behind your back, expecting the worst from you, ready to catch you: playing with a ball, smoking a cigarette, letting your dog run, not picking up the poo... Even when you are just sitting on the ground with the dog, they are super vigilant staring directly at you.
Andrea L — Google review
Not a bad chill out spot close to the city's central business district. A rare oasis of green space in the midst of Sao Paulo's sprawling sea of high-rise concrete blocks and hectic intersections. Calmer and less crowded than ibirapuera with a more laid back vibe. Plenty of coconut and cold snack vendors near the entrances to hydrate and refuel. Bike hire also easily available without the ibirapuera-style queues. Great lunch, picnic, exercise or chill out spot. Small but rare and accessible green space in the city.
Will A — Google review
One of the best parks in São Paulo. Rather small, but has tons of playgrounds for children (up to 5-6 yr). The inner bike lane has 1.8km.

This place is a hidden gem! It’s a small park in the middle of Itaim Bibi, next to Marginal Pinheiros. Since our return to the office, this the place where I come everyday to run and walk. I used to go to Ibirapuera park but since COVID it’s been a challenge. I can’t compare it to Central Park in NYC, but it remembers me of good times I’ve spent walking through it. There is a path for bicycles and a path for run/walk around the park, some trees, a great grass field on the middle “Central Park” style where people can lay down, look for special shaped clouds and see the planes on their way to the final landing at Congonhas Airport. We need more places like this, even if they are really small.

It was great visit. it was free entry. It was a neoclassical Manor built between 1942 and 1945, originally to house the former mayor of São Paulo (1934-1938) Fábio da Silva Prado and his wife Renata Crespi Prado. The house has been transformed in a museum where can be found part of the Sao Paulo story. Pictures, materials, cuttlety, several objets showing how the life was on the beggining of the 19th century. It was small exhibition but very interesting to time travelling to the past. And the museum has an amazing restaurant in their garden. It was more than worth for visiting!

A quite small museum in a beautiful building in A. Farida Lima (where you rarely find such nice architecture!), unfortunately you get the written information only in Portuguese language (we didn't visit the Globo-show, perhaps it's different there). By the way: The entrance is for free.

This is a lovely place. It is free for the most part and you get to see what life looked like some time ago. The building itself looks very good, and it is a fantastic place to visit if you want to know what mansions in São Paulo looked like several decades ago. It is also a quiet and calm place, a nice getaway from all the traffic and noise present on Avenida Faria Lima. The exhibitions and old furniture inside are not groundbreaking, there isn't anything that you wouldn't find in other museums or art galleries in the city, and this is what cost this place its fifth star in my review.

Nestled in the vibrant Liberdade neighborhood of São Paulo, the Museu Histórico da Imigração Japonesa no Brasil offers a captivating journey through the rich history of Japanese immigrants in Brazil. Established on June 18, 1978, to mark the 70th anniversary of this significant migration, the museum showcases an impressive collection exceeding 97,000 artifacts.
Cost R$20 for adults. Pay on 7th floor. They give you a receipt/ticket which you need to enter the Exhibitions, which are on floora 7, 8, & 9. The displays are in Japonese, Portuguese, and English. I have visited dozens of museums across the globe, and this one is very wepl organized, informative, and creative. You will spend 30 mins to 1 hour on each floor. There are videos throughout. Restrooms on 7th, 8th, & 9th floor. Museum shop and small cafe on 9th floor.

An informative museum that offers wonderful insight into the history of Japanese immigrants in Brazil. It consists of 3 floors (starting on Floor 7) that bring a visitor chronologically through the reasons of immigration, the hardships faced, the impact of WWII, and recognition/assimilation. The top floor is reserved more for modern events and there's even a small cafe there. The exhibits are informative with replicated displays, pictures and videos, and translations of Portuguese into Japanese and English. It is free to visit on Wednesdays, but the entry fee is reasonable at R$16. One will need to keep their paper receipt throughout the exhibit as each floor has a scanner and turnstile one needs to go through

It's an interesting place if you are into history otherwise it's an ok ok place. You get to see the day to day things used by Japanese 100 yrs back in Brazil and you get to see lot of old photos with lot of readings. You can spend 1 to 2 hrs based on your appetite for knowing the history.
Senthil P — Google review
A well-designed museum with detailed information and documents about the over hundred-year history of Japanese immigrants in Brazil. I think it's an impressive and useful museum. Just point that can be criticised is the lack of English translation in the some areas.
Emin P — Google review
Great museum that explains how the Japanese people immigrated to Brazil, with special focus to São Paulo region. It shows the hardships they've been through on the early half of the 20th century and how they overcame it, highlighting the great figures that made it happen. It has many pieces of that history, from a reconstruction of the ship that brought the first folk here to a recreation of the house of a field worker. Definitely worth visiting.

Really interesting museum, it’s well done. It shows everything and the information are always in English, Portuguese and Japanese. Highly recommended to the people that want to know more about the Japanese immigration in Brasil and how it’s developed during the year until now.

Lots of antiques, very original. There were no other people there, just me!! Make sure to check out the virtual reality exhibit on the first floor! It was amazing.

Nestled in the vibrant Higienopolis neighborhood, the Museu de Arte Brasileira (MAB FAAP) is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. This remarkable museum boasts an extensive collection of 2,500 to 3,500 pieces, showcasing a diverse array of artworks including stunning marble and steel sculptures. Visitors can immerse themselves in Brazilian artistry with notable works from celebrated artists like Portinari and Di Cavalcanti.
The general admission is free, and special exhibitions like Dali's requires tickets. The building is very nice, and during weekdays it's no busy at all. Arriving by car you going to find a parking lot under the museum, and there are some others close and cheaper. Getting by Publix transportation is a bit challenging, closest subway stations are more than half mile far, with steep hills. Expect to stay at least a couple of hours.
Ricardo U — Google review
Got to see the “free” portion of this museum and it was very underwhelming. The statutes and stained glass are the only attractions. There are extremely bare walls on the mezzanine begging to display something, yet they are drenched in white paint. However, it is accessible.
Debbie — Google review
A small free museum showcasing rotating art. The lobby has some really nice stained glass art as well as some old church paintings. It’s worth stopping by if close to the area and just walking by, it’s not worth going to for the museum itself. Only street parking. Have to go through security to get in, but that’s very standard of Brazil. So, world class museum, no. But free and quaint.
Jacob K — Google review
Main entrance has a very steep ramp, not wheelchair friendly slope. Wheelchairs lined up on one wall but you have to go down 3 flights of stairs to leave your bags... How? If you decide to use the building's parking garage, there is yet another impossible ramp and no lift. It's one thing to instruct the staff to be accommodating. It's another entirely to actually have an accessible building.
Lud K — Google review
It’s a interesting museum in Sao Paulo closed to Pacaembu. It’s for free to see exhibition. You just tell reception that you want to visit museum, they allow you to enter and give you the badge. There are not many things, so you san see all less than 1hour.

Centro Cultural São Paulo, also known as C.C.S.P., is a modern cultural space located in the central neighborhood of Paraiso. Originally planned to be a public library, it was transformed into a multidisciplinary venue before its construction. Since its opening in 1982, it has offered various cultural activities such as theater, dance, music, visual arts exhibitions, film screenings, workshops and courses.
Great place to hang out. People outside laying on the grass reading books and socializing. Kids downstairs in the cafe studying. Excellent exhibits and lots to see and do. They also have a restaurant and cafe. Highly recommended.

One of manu great places to enjoy culture in São Paulo. It has a vibrant community that also dances in its halls. You can eat, watch a film, attend an exhibition and chill here. The restroom was clean enough for a public toilet (and free! And had paper towels!). It is also beautifully designed, with many spaces serving for interesting photo shoots.
Camilo G — Google review
It’s a must-go place of São Paulo. There’s lots of people to do everything you can imagine. There are several places for people to play chess in the entrance, several tables for study. It’s a huge place indoors for expositions. There’s a huge library in the underground. You can also go to the “roof”, where you can chill with friends in the grass. There’s also a small garden you can grab some vegetables for yourself, with support of the staff. On weekends, you can watch teenagers dancing and chilling outdoors. It’s an awesome place to go with family and kids as well.

Solid 4 stars. But can not say it’s a 5 star place because the prices seemed to be very expensive. There were a couple unique shops on the periphery of the market that were interesting. Again, very expensive. Difficult to figure out the parking situation there. There seems to be a parking specifically for the market but it’s very hard to find and access. We had to pay for parking around the block at a lot across the street. There are better markets in São Paulo.

Deyvid A — Google review
(Translated by Google) 2 attempts to visit. I called to confirm that it would be open hours in advance both times, because I had visitors at home and wanted to take them to see the planetarium. On both calls, the employees confirmed that it would be open. The first time, when we arrived, the gate was half-closed and the security guard informed us that the sessions had been canceled because of the rain. I heard from another visitor that when it rains they put buckets out to contain the leaks (absurd). It happened once, but then when it rains, the problem persists. The neglect and lack of maintenance are very sad. The second time, when we arrived, for the first afternoon session at 3:00 p.m., we found the gate half-closed again (my stomach was full of butterflies...) and the security guard informed us that a power cable had fallen and that ENEL had already been notified, but up until that moment (2:50 p.m.) the maintenance staff had not shown up. So I asked if we could go back for the 5pm session and the security guard said that "ALL" the employees had left and there would be no 5pm session. If ENEL really said that there was no way to fix it, the planetarium should at least post an information board on the website, Google, at the entrance, etc., to inform visitors of this news. "My bad luck" or "Total disregard for the citizen"? I would like more information. I hope that next time (I don't know if the disappointment will allow me to try again?) it works out...

Too many people who treat the place as their own private photo studio. It's good to be polite and allow photos, but to wait minutes while others dominate the place for their exclusive benefit is off-putting. The black netting around much of the area makes photos difficult to take.

In the heart of Sao Paulo's Japantown, the Feira da Liberdade is a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture and heritage. The neighborhood exudes an East Asian ambiance with its oriental suzuran-to streetlights, creating a unique atmosphere year-round. However, it truly comes alive on weekends when the arts, crafts, and culture fair takes place. Visitors can expect a bustling street market offering a wide array of gastronomic experiences at the stalls.
Cool and big street fair in SP, in the heart of the Japanese neighbourhood within the city. Besides the street market, which is full of Brazil and Japanese souvenirs, there’s a great selection of food.

I didn’t find much of interest here, especially if you’ve been to Japan before—there’s really no need to visit. Most of the sellers weren’t very friendly, and they tend to sell cheap products at high prices. However, the redeeming qualities are the restaurants and supermarkets, which are definitely worth visiting.
Tahsin G — Google review
This is a crazy place to come on the weekend. The crowds are insane and it is very full. I enjoyed my time here however there really wasn’t much Artisanal crafts or goods that were worth the time if you’re not interested in buying cheap stuff from Asia or Asian souvenirs. I would come back on a regular day, but the fair was pretty crazy.

The stairs, intentionally dark, create a somewhat mysterious and fun vibe, but require careful attention to avoid tripping! The acoustics are a bit poor, and the seats are too close together. Their restaurant is also good. It doesn't have the widest selection of drinks (which are quite okay), but it makes up for it with the atmosphere and food.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful place for small, intimate shows. They use tickets according to the Paulo Gustavo law, and it's the first place I've seen that does this. After going down so many stairs, I understood why the place has that name. After leaving, you can go to the gym for the day. And outside, there's a very beautiful restaurant too. (Original) Um belo lugar, para shows pequenos e intimistas.

Nestled in the heart of São Paulo, Beco do Pinto, also referred to as Beco do Colegio, is a charming historical passage that dates back to the colonial era. This picturesque alley once served as a vital route for both people and animals, linking Largo da Se with the Tamanduatei River's floodplain. Today, it forms part of an important architectural and cultural complex alongside Casa da Imagem and Solar da Marquesa de Santos within the Museum of the City of São Paulo.
(Translated by Google) Beco do Pinto Museum* "Beco do Pinto, also known as Beco do Colégio, was a passage used in colonial São Paulo for the movement of people and animals, connecting Largo da Sé to the floodplain of the Tamanduateí River. Today, together with Casa da Imagem and Solar da Marquesa de Santos, it constitutes a significant architectural, historical and cultural complex, and is part of the Museum of the City of São Paulo". "Its name is related to the surname of the owner of the house next to the street, Brigadier José Joaquim Pinto de Moraes Leme, and to his disagreements with his neighbors and the Municipality for having closed access to the alley in 1821. In 1826, the passage was reopened and received the official name of Beco do Colégio from the City Council. In 1834, the Marquesa de Santos, when buying this property from one of Brigadier Pinto's heirs, managed to get the City Council to close the passage. After the opening of Ladeira do Carmo in 1912, now Av. Rangel Pestana, the alley lost its function and was permanently deactivated." *Information credit: Museu da Cidade de São Paulo website. This tour is really cool! I recommend it! Free! Indico! Gratuito! Nota 10

(Translated by Google) An alley connecting the city to the former banks of the Tamanduateí River, before it was disfigured. Today, it connects nothing to something—but does the emptiness of the place serve as a record of a time when São Paulo was smaller and, though no less ambitious, more aware of its limits? Or perhaps not so much? Because an available text draws attention to the fact that the alley was opened and closed several times depending on the (in)management of the owners of the houses that line it. It seems that the city's activity has always depended on decisions without much merit other than private ones. It's fortunate that the alley has survived until today, serving as a museum of itself; it would be better if it could truly function as public roads have (or should have), but herein lies the contradiction of what is preserved: if no one were to say that the object should be preserved, would anyone have the decency to keep it as it is?

It currently connects Roberto Simonsen and Bittencourt Rodrigues streets. During the country's colonial era, it was used to allow people and animals to pass between Largo da Sé and the Tamanduateí River floodplain. It is currently managed by Casa da Imagem and houses projects developed especially for the space by contemporary artists. We passed through it, basically, on the way from Solar to the other location. You can get a good view from the second floor of the house. (Original) O Beco do Pinto é uma passagem que fica entre a Casa Número Um e o Solar da Marquesa de Santos no Centro de São Paulo. (Translated by Google) During the guided tour of the Marquesa's Manor, the guide told the interesting story of this alley. In addition to being a strategic communication route that connected the upper part of the city to the lower part, where São Paulo's businesses were concentrated, the alley was also a path where slaves would pass to fetch water and dump their household waste. And, because it was a steep and winding passage, many chose not to go down to the floodplain, and dumped their waste wherever they went. Annoyed by this, the Brigadier closed off the Beco do Pinto with a gate. But his change did not last long, as the measure was contested and prohibited by the City Council, as it was a public easement.

(Translated by Google) The alley itself is just a passage with stairs from the upper part to the lower part, but as it is part of the City Museum and next to the Solar da Marquesa, it has restricted opening hours - apparently from 9 am to 5 pm during the week. The historical part is interesting, there is a plaque at the upper part to find out a little more and there are temporary exhibitions or interventions, such as a sound one that will be on display until 2023. There is security at the upper part and the lower part apparently is closed, so access is only from above. It is not recommended to walk around the area at night.

Marquise do Ibirapuera is a distinctive feature of Parque Ibirapuera, designed by Oscar Niemeyer. This wavy structure spans approximately 620m in length and varies from 15m to 80m in width. It's a popular spot for various activities such as skating and sports, attracting many visitors. Currently undergoing renovations, the marquee has been closed due to reported structural risks, but it remains a gathering place for people and ideas.

(Translated by Google) Opened in 1954, it is a concrete structure without walls and covered, great for meetings, skateboarding, rollerblading, music, dance, theater and more. A work by Oscar Niemeyer, the large marquee of Ibirapuera Park constitutes the central nucleus of the Park, connecting the Museu Afro Brasil, OCA, Pavilhão das Culturas and Bienal. The marquee has an irregular shape, approximately 620 meters long and width varying between 15 and 80 meters. Closed since 2019, in January it caused accidents and the renovation is still not finished. It is free, does not require reservations, is always very full and a great place to meet people. The incredible thing is all this abandonment for something so emblematic and important. (Translated by Google) Approximately 620m long, the Marquise is a really cool spot inside Ibirapuera Park, where many people usually skate or rollerblade. The place is always frequented by many people, but unfortunately the Marquise is closed because a report indicated risks of collapse of the structure due to inadequate renovations, faults and leaks. Hopefully this problem will be resolved, and the Marquise will be opened to the public soon! Tomara que esse problema seja resolvido, e a Marquise seja liberada para o público em breve!
