This is a must visit street. It's the main street in Zakopane and its center. Lots of shops, coffee shops, and restaurants. There are many Halal food and Western food. There is only McDonald's as a fast food restaurant. Youust try the ice-cream many shops with many flavors. Prices are reasonable, and the kids love the gifts of shops. You must visit this street. Highly recommend.

As I read from another comment, I strongly recommend to visit the Tatra Museum before you do anything else in Zakopane. A brief overview of the lives and the history of Podhale region. Get an idea of why this place is so much different from other places in Poland.

This museum turned out to be a real gem — much more interesting than we expected. It is one of the oldest regional museums in Poland, founded in 1888 to showcase the culture and art of the Podhale region. The exhibitions are spread over several floors: the ground floor features a historical and ethnographic section, the first floor is dedicated to natural history, the second floor hosts temporary exhibitions, and the third is reserved for staff. The displays are rich and thoughtfully arranged, with many interactive elements that bring the experience to life. One of the highlights is the reconstruction of a traditional highlander house interior — visitors can listen (in Polish or English) to stories about the layout, furnishings, customs, and everyday life in the “white” and “black” rooms. The narration, accompanied by traditional music, helps vividly imagine what life was really like in such a home. The natural history section is equally engaging, offering insight into the geology, flora, and fauna of the Tatra Mountains. While we’re usually not fans of stuffed animals, the taxidermy here is of high quality and gives a close-up look at the region’s wildlife — including bears, wolves, lynx, and birds of prey. Overall, this is a very well-curated museum and definitely worth a visit, whether you're interested in regional culture or simply looking for a deeper understanding of the Tatra region.

We decided to visit it to understand a bit about the Tatra mountains. It was a pleasant surprise. 1. They have cloak rooms, and lockers that helped us to store our rainwear. 2. The audio guides(purchased separately/not included in ticket) helped us immensely. 3. 99% artifacts had English translation. 4. They have arranged the artifacts on two floors. First floor showcases history of Zakopane, the second floor showcases Tatra mountains. 5. The staff was polite and efficient. While we liked the Zakopane history section, we loved the Tatra exhibition. The stones are arranged in chronological order and gives a glimpse of how the geology evolved. The two videos on large screens are helpful in case you don't have audio guides. The best part was juxtaposition of animals(exhibits) and leaves in ascending order of altitude. Geology enthusiasts can spend an entire day here, while noobs like me can easily invest 3h.

Very informative museum. Modern and good exhibition. I would definitely recommend the audioguide. One of the best, maybe even the best, audioguide I ever used. That might be personal, of course.

Agree with other reviews, that place is truly beautiful and accessible, even though it's around 8km one way to Morske Oko. However, parking is expensive and toilets are not free( except honey buckets) , so make sure to bring some cash. It was a little bit chilly at the top( at the beginning of May), bring some warm clothes with you and grab some snacks.

Mountains have breathtaking views. Cable car was a less than 15 minutes to the top. Definitely worth the time and hike. Dress accordingly and wear proper shoes. Highly recommend visiting on a clear sunny day. Note: they charge for bathrooms, however the bathrooms near the ticket booths are free of charge.

Perfect park, in all seasons with different types of path

I recently visited Morskie Oko. It is definitely breathtaking. However, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THE HORSE CARRIAGES! The horses are treated poorly and looked very overworked, pulling asses of 10-15 people up and down the hill. It really ruined my hike seeing horses being mistreated in such a cruel way and sent up and down the hill while it’s so hot outside. I saw horses with tongues hanging out of their mouths while carrying the carriage, really horrible. While I saw that they were fed I did not see that they had any water given in this heat. Honestly, it’s 2025, if you want to see the mountains , you need to be prepared to hike for the views. I also saw vehicles for disabled people. So there is no excuse to this cruelty. Last year, a horse collapsed right there while carrying people up the hill. Many have died after few months of being in this service or sent to slaughterhouses. They don’t have a long lifespan due to them being constantly overworked and mistreated. Please do not promote such a horrible treatment towards animals, who definitely deserve better than this.

Great Trek. The trail is hard 3h up and 3h down. At the summit there's a que to climb up and down which takes extra 2 to 3 hours. Plan your time accordingly. GL hf

Nice peak with big crucifix and 360 degree view. We have started the hike from Mala Laka parking (price 30 PLN or 20 PLN for whole day depending on which parking lot you choose). Ascend takes about 3 hours. It's not very difficult and it's nice. There are chains below the peak but nothing very difficult. Whole hiking path is very well marked. We choose yellow path for descend and it was a mistake. The path is terrible with a lot of gravel, loose stones and huge slippery boulders (when wet). Never again. But whole hike is great and you are surrounded by beautiful nature.

I hiked to Giewont at the beginning of April. There was still a lot of snow on the ascent from Kuźnice, and I’m glad I didn’t descend on that same side, as it would have been quite difficult. The top of the mountain is easy to reach; climbing up through the chains wasn’t difficult. I descended on the west side of the mountain, and it was much better. There was barely any snow, and the stone stairs looked well maintained. I definitely recommend having microspikes with you when there is still snow above 1500m. Trekking poles can also be helpful. Beware of the avalanches. The view from the top is totally worth any difficulties!

Definitely worth to visit, closer to top views are breathtaking. Also cool that you can continue to different direction and get even more tops visited. However, consider crowds. At Wednesday, around 13.00 it was very long queue to the top in the last section. Instead of 20 minutes it would take at least 2 h. So be the early bird and it will be okay

Amazing mountain range in Zakopane. We visited in May 2017 and enjoyed the fantastic views. As you might expect at this altitudes, the weather can change pretty quick and we had massive hail stones. Worth packing a change of clothes just in case!

We has daily free access included in our accommodation. It was great! Clean, not too crowded, even earlier when families were there. The 2 big slides were amazing, there was ample room in the bubbles outdoors and indoors. The locker system is genius and very easy to use. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Very easy to spend 2 hours here unwinding. The staff were very patient and friendly, despite our terrible Polish!

A great way to spend a cold afternoon with our two teenage boys while visiting Zakopane. The outdoor pools we very clean and really warm and nice to relax in and look at the mountains. Good value for a couple of hours and yiu can hire towels too. The slides were good fun for the boys.

The Aqua Park ticket price Happy Hour is very correct coz more than 3h when you don't have childrens you cannot stay coz very boring. The pools inside still cold and outside is just perfect 🥰 The sauna areea is really not intersting , and the smell is not confortable. The parking capacitty is very small, and you need to pay 1zloty for each .

Small space with a lot of activities. Issue is with depth of pools (130cm deap), and only one place for babies. Probably would address issue with packing. Not enough space. In general our family of 4 was happy with unlimited time entry for 68eur

Very nice and clean aquapark witk many possibilities how to spend the relax time. Something for kids and also for adults like saunas or outside pool with termal water. During our visiting the termy was full but not so extremely. But the stuff mainly in bistro was not so ready for such many people. The same was with the number of sun beds. It's dimensioned for few persons. And this is why "only" four stars. The termy is not ready for more people.

the park itself is nice, clean water, a lot if different pools to choose from, slides are fun too. But the food is regular market food just heated up in a microwave and the saunas open at 14 and are 18+ which kinda ruined the mood

We had a great time here in early March, on the last week the maze was open. It was warm and it showed on the walls of the maze, but that's not a fault, just a warning that if you want to see this attraction, plan your visit in time! The maze was brilliant, the kids really enjoy it and it really takes a while to get out of it. :) As a reward, you can go up to the tower at the end, from where you can look back at the whole maze. :) Then we tried the snow sledding track, which was also brilliant, but unfortunately it was already closing, so we couldn't stay long. I highly recommend it, excellent entertainment!

The maze was really challenging. Eventually some of us made it through and got to the platform where they helped the rest of us out. A really great and challenging experience. The igloo was surprisingly big and there was a lot to see. I definitely recommend visiting at least these two. There would also have been a zoo and Santa's workshop. However, we didn't visit them, so I can't say whether they are worth the money.

We had a great time. The maze was a fun and unique experience for us. The igloo was very cool and intricate. The Santa Land was cool but definitely geared for younger kids. The price was a little high for our family but not terrible. Overall we really enjoyed it and would recommend.

Sculptures were lovely in the snow caves, very easy to get lost in the labyrinth lol my daughter met Santa which she loved. There are a few places to eat in and plenty of food carts, but not easy to get a seat if you want to eat inside

A lovely place. We bought a combined ticket for all activities. The maze is large and interesting, the igloo creations in the snow are amazing and the small zoo is simply charming. There is paid parking in the area. A recommended experience

The maze itself is not something amazing, probably it is better to watch it from above than to do it or go during the night. The mini zoo, on the contrary, it was very interactive and a joy for a kid's eyes

A Colorful Place, but No Way In - Walking past Be Happy Museum in Zakopane, we were instantly drawn to its vibrant, playful exterior. It looked like a fun and unique experience, full of bright colors and quirky installations—just the kind of lighthearted stop we were looking for. Excited to step inside, we approached the entrance, only to find out that the payment machine wasn’t working. Unfortunately, we didn’t have any cash on us, and there was no alternative way to pay. The staff was polite but couldn’t offer a solution, so we had to leave disappointed. It’s a shame because the place truly looks fantastic, and I can imagine it being a great spot for fun photos and a cheerful atmosphere. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend bringing cash just in case. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to return and actually experience it next time!

Nice place if you need instagram or some social media content.The price is 45 zloty per person and i can recommend you come with some one else to take pictures of you or you have selfie stick or something like this. There is a place to put your coat and to leave your things so the experience would be much better. To be specified the place is located in the mall so you have to enter.

The Be Happy Museum was a fun and colorful experience, especially for the kids! They absolutely loved the ball pool, the infinity room, and the doll room. It’s a playful and creative space that’s perfect for taking fun photos. The whole visit takes about an hour, which was just right for us. There’s a nice little coffee shop right at the entrance where you also buy your tickets—great for a quick drink before or after the visit. However, the place was a bit warm inside, and unfortunately, there was no air conditioning when we visited. The staff were okay—not very welcoming, but they did their job. Overall, a nice stop for families with children looking for a light, fun activity in Zakopane.

3 stars only for the great idea. Definitely not worth its price, dirty and small, bad light for taking photos. Moreover the "swimming pool" with marshmallows is actually dangerous - the bottom of it should be soft, now kid can get trauma there easily.

Beautiful little church peaceful and full of original wood work. Unfortunately whilst on holiday we received very sad news about my husband’s family member passing therefore we wished to just have a private moment in prayer. We felt the need to go in together as a family with our family Labrador dog as we had nowhere to leave him. I felt it totally appropriate in time and in Gods eyes until a nun came in and asked me out saying it is inappropriate to bring a dog into a Church. The church was almost empty , very quiet in prayer with my own family and my dog very well trained just sat there . I am so incredibly sad we all left on the middle of our prayers because of her remarks. Terrible thing to do by any human and without any reason other than being bitter.

We participated in the traditional way to make Oscypek cheese ( with cow's milk as a substitute ). Very fun and unique experience!

Must Visit! Amazing place. Tours are in Polish - no english translation unfortunately. Cheap tickets. Very friendly staff. Very informative. You get to mould your own oscypek at the end. Just an FYI: this isn’t a museum as such… you don’t walk around looking at stuff. Definitely recommend 👍🏻 Thank you to the guy at reception for shrink wrapping our oscypek for our flight ✈️ They run out oscypek t-shirts 😭 so we might have to come back when we’re in Zakopane again.

Not recommended if you don't want to risk catching something because they pack all people in a single crowded room that has no hangers for coats(you leave them on the bench) and no ventilation(all the windows are closed). Pretty hot inside and these conditions are hard to bear in winter clothes. The overall show is quite long because every child is trying to mix cheese and pose for pictures. The story they tell about cheese is quite interesting so if it wasn't for conditions it could be a five star feedback.

Polite but Very disappointing. According to front desk person. One must buy ticket two days ahead online. No cash at the door, not even for up price. If you don't not speak polish or highland, you are turned away....even if you understand... even if you are willing to wait. Tip: Do not be spontaneous. You must plan ahead. You must order online. They can not know if you do not speak Polish. It would have been a great way to learn about the area and use the 2 hours I unexpectedly had time for.

Interesting place to visit if you're interested in Poland's history of cheese making and how the process occurs. The tour is for polish speaking visitors but a lovely staff member translated the talk in English to help us understand. It is a bit long, around 1.5 hours, but I had a good experience, especially molding our own cheese.

Don't forget to plan a visit to this upside down world literally in the city centre. Poland has a few of them and they're super funny. Although walking with snow and ice mess inside was trouble but that's not on them. The ticket price was about 30pln which hasn't been updated online. Overall, a lovely fun place to visit and kids love it. Poland has a few more on the Baltic Coast.

This building is breath taking. Zakopane is full of beautiful old building that were destroyed to build hotels and apartment buildings. It is so good to see well renovated and kept building in ‘Zakopianski’ style! Museum is well designed and has the audio tour in English. Stuff is nice and friendly (no problem with English for foreign tourists). I recommend visiting it!

It's nice if you are interested in seeing how a building like this was on the inside. However, most of the text is in Polish only, so half of the exhibition is lost on foreign visitors. There is also a reconstruction of a typical house in the Tartra Museum ans there you can listen to how a day in the life was in the house, so I would rather go there. In my case, I visited both museums on a Thursday and they were free, so I obviously don't regret visiting this one ;)

Well laid out small museum. It told the story of the Zakopane buildings in engaging, informative way, with interesting exhibits. Helpful staff and audio guide in English.

It's free to attend on Sundays. They provide an English and Polish audio guide. Highly recommend it, as it provides great insights into the house and the items in it. It's around a 30-minute tour. As far as museums go, this is one of the better ones.

Nice museum, but for the price of 70 pln, it was really bad! Also everything was in polish, tourists won't understand a thing. The staff was laughing at as for not knowing polish very well.

The very old church is still in great condition and well preserve . Great place to visit especially in the cold winter of Poland when it's all full of snow . You should pay attention when crossing the road by foot .

Lovely little chapel to visit. Gorgeous to look at and enter, it’s wonderfully preserved. Outside there are information boards on how long ago it was built and who built it which was nice to read. There is a free car park on the other side of the road which I would recommend to those who don’t walk to it. However, I would caution those who do use the car park as it is right next to a bend in the road making it awkward to pull in and out of. You also have to be quite cautious in crossing the road from the car park due to the bend and cars going quickly in this area. Overall, I would highly recommend especially if you have 15-20 minutes spare and want some place to visit.

There are a few parking spaces opposite the chapel, which is right next to a busy road. The chapel is really beautiful and you can feel the atmosphere of the Tatras. Do not miss a trip to these places.

We were quite speechless to see a poster in the notice board of the church that seemed to warn against wearing symbols... apparently unicorns promote gay people...

I've been to Karczma Góralska twice now, and honestly, it is an absolute MUST-VISIT in Zakopane! 🏔️🇵🇱 The entire experience—food, service, and atmosphere—is pure magic. ✨ The atmosphere is instantly transporting; the lively Góral folk songs 🎶 create such a joyous, authentic vibe. The service is fantastic—every member of the staff serves you with a genuine smile 😊 and speaks excellent English, which is super helpful! Plus, having the menu in both Polish and English is a huge bonus. 📖👍 Now, the food! Everything I tried was seriously delicious and satisfying. The deeply flavorful garlic soup with smoked bacon 🥓 and the perfectly cooked cabbage and mushroom pierogi 🥟 with crispy bacon bits were amazing starters. Short review: Best food I have ever tasted! Lovely atmosphere True Polish dishes, but kids can also eat well. Little corner for kids to play, nothing dangerous I noticed. Live music, adjusted to the people's wishes! You can eat cheap, or expensive, and you'll be full either way! There is no tip included in the bill, you can tip the staff by giving them cash, as much as you want for the service. The menu is translated in 3 languages, also in hungarian and it is avilable via QR codes. The menus are not translated poorly they are very accurate. Parking is not far away, aprox. 2 minutes away (400 m) through Fashion street, there is a large parking lot, with parking fee of 7 zł/hour on weekdays 'til 9 PM. For disabled people this restaurant is packed with seats on the ground floor, but no toilet. Toilet is only available upstairs. The toilets are clean, and well equipped. The mulled beer, and garlic soups are the top favorite, a must try! Also the pancakes are very very delicious! Basically everything is delish. Longer review: I've been to this restaurant 7 years ago, and remembered that the soups are amazing. I forgot the name of the place, and how it looked like, so we just wandered around the street, and stumbled upon this restaurant with great atmosphere inside. Just after we sat down, my sister sent me the picture from 7 years ago. It was the exact same restaurant!! So not only I remembered, but accidentally fell in love with the place twice🥰🥰🥰 And just as I remembered, the Garlic Soup is the best soup in the whole world. It was served with cheese toast, and plenty of bacons inside the soup, very delicious! The food was still hot, and we didn't wait for the food, only about 15 minutes, each time we ate there. Because yes, we ate there 3 times, everyday, throughout our stay in Zakopane. Our waitress Karolina and waiter Jurek was the best! They were always smiley, and fulfilled any request we had. We will be regulars that is for sure!

Visuals are great but the English audio guide is not synched to visuals. So if you don't speak polish everything is out of sync and you have no idea what is on screen. Drop the audio translation and just add English subtitles.

Lovely museum where both adults and kids can learn about Tatra Mountains, their beauty, flora and fauna and understand how important is to protect the heritage of mother nature. In the museum most activities can be found indoors, however you can also take a walk in the park. We recommend reserving the tickets in advance (the entry is free but the capacity of the museum is limited). Thank you for the opportunity to visit such an amazing place.

This is an unique place where a pair of deers can live in a town. There is a mountain river, a bridge and a forest. Be aware that the deers are not very friendly to children. Also you can see animals sculptures representing local mountains wild inhabitants.

Nice illusion park in the centre of Zakopane. It was a rainy day and lots of people inside, but didn't felt crowded. Lots of interesting things to do and places to take lots of pics. Highly recommended. They give you locker and have to place bags there, walkaround without shoes, with socks.

There are more than 100 of steel figures in Zakopane, the rest can be found in Warsaw, Prague and Pruszkow. Totally worth spending the money to see this exhibition. Satisfaction guaranteed.
