Sights & Landmarks
Wat Phra Si Sanphet is a remarkable temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand. It was constructed during the 14th century and features three restored towers, with the central and eastern ones built in classic Ayutthaya style influenced by Ceylon architecture. The site also includes a viharn that houses a 16-meter high golden Buddha image coated with 170 kilograms of gold. This temple holds great historical significance as it once housed the ashes of several former Thai Kings for centuries.
What an amazing slice of Thailand's history. For 80 Bart enjoy a wonderful walk thru this magnificent place. The grounds are kept clean and tidy. If you can, try and get in early. This place is very popular and by 10:00am there are lots of people. Getting in at opening time will give you more opportunity to get those photos done.
John S — Google review
A beautiful place for sure!! Be aware foreigners do pay way more than natives. 10 baht for Thai and 80 baht for foreigners. Also some of the parts you WILL need to dress for temple attire so no shorts and tank top. We went on a very hot and humid mid day so bringing drinks is very important. They do have umbrellas you can take to protect yourself from the sun. For the one with the very big tower (first picture) you WILL need an umbrella as there are barely any trees. Don't mind the stray dogs walking around there either.
Jenny W — Google review
Great place to go; a must-see place. Take a taxi or any organized trip to this place. We took an organized trip and enjoyed it pretty much. Take an umbrella with you; the sun is burning so much!
Bedrich V — Google review
Wat Phra Si Sanphet houses the three majestic Chedis each of which houses the remains of three Kings of Ayutthya. During the Burmese invasion 2 of 3 chedis were completely destroyed. However they were restored much later. The entry tickets are 50 bahts for foreigners and they offer umbrellas for free at the gate. This is located on the royal grounds of the Ayutthya Kingdom and the construction of the temple started as early as 1365 AD. The ground is huge and takes more than half an hour to explore. The grounds, the gardens are well kept by the staff. Visit early morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the harsh sun.
Animesh K — Google review
Reputed to be the most ancient temple in Ayutthaya, Wat Phra Si Sanphet was built in 1351, and the area served as a royal palace. Wat Phra Si Sanphet was once the most sacred temple on the site of the old Royal Palace. The temple and palace ground ruins later served as a model for Wat Phra Kaew in the present-day capital of Bangkok. It is most well known for its three majestic, towering chedis.
Julius T — Google review
One of my favourites temple. You need to come and experience yourself. But I do hope for all the things in Ayutthaya. There could be more explanation of the history sites rather than just the buildings and artifacts. Hard to appreciate with depths.
JooZoo W — Google review
Exploring Wat Phra Si Sanphet was one of the most meaningful moments during my time in Ayutthaya. Standing among the ruins of what used to be the most sacred royal temple in the ancient capital, I was humbled by its history and beauty. The three towering chedis—majestic and solemn—seemed to guard centuries of stories. What made this temple different from the others was its exclusivity. It wasn’t open to monks, only for royal use. Knowing that this was once the spiritual heart of the Ayutthaya Kingdom made the experience feel even more special. The place felt quiet, reverent—despite other visitors being around, there was a respectful hush in the air. I was particularly struck by the story of the massive 16-meter Buddha statue once housed here, which was covered in gold before being destroyed during the Burmese invasion. Even in ruins, you could still feel the sacred energy that once filled this space. The best part was just slowing down and sitting on one of the steps, watching the sun hit the chedis at just the right angle. It wasn’t just a photo opportunity—it was a moment of reflection. If you plan to visit, go early in the morning or later in the afternoon to avoid the heat and crowds. Dress modestly—it’s a sacred site after all. This visit reminded me that history isn’t just about buildings or dates. Sometimes, it’s about a quiet walk through a centuries-old temple, feeling the past gently echo around you.
Crumpled N — Google review
We visited Wat Phra Si Sanphet, which is known for its three impressive chedis. The sun was strong, but they offered free umbrellas, which allowed us to take our time and explore comfortably.

Wat Mahathat is a Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya, known for its colorful shrines and famous Buddha head entwined in tree roots. The temple was once at the heart of Ayutthaya city but was destroyed during the Burmese invasion. Despite the damage, it remains a historical and cultural landmark. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, marvel at its impressive architecture, and learn about Thailand's rich religious heritage.
Been waiting to see this iconic image and it didn’t fall short of our expectations. The entire area is so clean and kept so well just like all tourist spots in Thailand. The crowd was amazing and everyone stood to take their photos and moved fast. On the whole it was a fabulous experience. Must see people who love cultural experiences, the entire temple has some beautiful structures and statues.
Andreya — Google review
This place is full of history and has such a relaxing atmosphere. Walking around the ruins feels like stepping back in time, with every corner showing something interesting. The Buddha head in the tree roots is very unique and even more impressive in real life than in photos. It’s a beautiful spot to take pictures, learn about the past, and just enjoy some quiet moments away from the busy city. Definitely worth a visit.
Olivia — Google review
One of the most famous temples in Ayutthaya, renowned for the most photographed Buddha head encased within the tree roots. Legend has it that a thief had intended to sell the Buddha head but was either forced to abandon it at the spot or the head was too heavy for him to carry further away, and so he had to leave it there. Over time, tree roots began to envelop the Buddha's head, and hence, this peculiar and unique landmark was formed. One can pray to the Buddha Head, but you must kneel and remove your shoes to show your respect.
Julius T — Google review
A must visit in Ayutthaya City. It costs 80 baht for foreigners and 10 baht for Thai people to enter. The main attraction is the Busddha in the tree, but there are plenty of chedi, prang and other Buddha statues about. Talk a walk around Thai history and enjoy.
Karl R — Google review
Nice ruins with some monks here. 80 bht entry for tourists, most ppl come to see the head in the tree. Cannot climb main large building as you can in the ruins next door.
Peter K — Google review
We visited Wat Mahathat as part of a group tour to the ancient city of Ayutthaya. It is a fantastic place that is full of history. It was the capital prior to Bangkok but was completely burned down by an invasion in 1767. This place just oozes history and it is a great day trip on a visit to Bangkok. It's about an hour or hour and a half by car or there are many daily trains from Bangkok that take one hour and are very cheap. This is also where you can see the buddha head that has been surrounded by the roots of the sacred banyan tree. You should definitely try to make the time if you're in the area. There are a number of other sites only five to ten minutes away also.
Justin R — Google review
They don't take QR scan and no ATM nearby. Most of it is totally ruined so less interesting than other temples in tact. However, it has nice statues and is close to to other temples.
Michael P — Google review
The remnants of the Ayutthya Kingdom. The Ayutthya Kingdom was one of the most thriving dynasties of South east asia before it was attacked by the Burmese Konboung dynasty. Wat Mahathat is one such remnant of the Ayutthya dynasty. The entry ticket is 50 baht for non thai national and dress code mandates covered shoulder and knees. There are a few gifts shops right beside the ticket counter where one can rent a scarf or trousers. The place is spotless clean and serene. One can feel the calmness and peace in the air. The place definitely lives upto the hype and is a must visit spot in Ayutthya. The Buddha head in the tree is the top attraction here. But the crowd here is well managed and everyone gets a chance to take a pic. Do carry umbrella and water while visiting. Late afternoon is the best time yo visit

Sights & Landmarks
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is a stunning 17th-century royal Buddhist temple located in a picturesque riverside setting. It is part of the Ayutthaya Historical Park and is renowned as one of the most Instagram-worthy temples in Ayutthaya. The temple's perfectly preserved ruins make it a must-visit attraction, along with the impressive complex of Wat Yai Chai Mongkol.
Such a breathtaking historical site. The temple ruins are super impressive. The best time to visit is just shortly before sunset, when the soft golden light casts a magical glow over the ruins. It’s right by the river, so the views are really peaceful too. Perfect spot for photos, a quiet walk or just soaking up the history. Inspiring and calming all at once.
Ploy — Google review
What a truly remarkable historical site. The temple ruins are incredibly awe-inspiring and evoke a deep sense of wonder. It feels like the perfect place to capture beautiful memories and photos. Visiting here is both uplifting and soothing to the spirit. The sunlight and the boiling hot weather in the middle of the day might be the only downside of this exễprience but they also give you an umbrella to make up for that
Vĩnh D — Google review
Tragically beautiful and impressive temple ruins. It’s a rather large temple complex with many Buddha statues with most of them missing their head. Our tour guide related to us how the Burmese army sacked and destroyed the temple in 1767 during the invasion. Heads of the statues were decapitated by the Burmese soldiers in search of valuables and jewellery said to be hidden in the torsos of the Buddha statues. This former royal temple truly deserves a visit.
Julius T — Google review
Amazeballs! Simply stunning, by far best cultural landmark I have visited in TH! It might may not have the grandeur of a golden temple or palace, but has it respectfully place of significance in Thai and human history.
C Y — Google review
Beautiful ruins of an ancient temple in Ayutthaya. Easy day trip from Bangkok by train or private car. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Entrance fee can be combined with the other temples for 300 Baht all together. Most of the smaller temples are free to enter.
Markus G — Google review
Overall, I do enjoy everything in Ayutthaya. But just hope there are more explanations and not just a place for taking instragammable pictures. Hopefully, the authorities can make it more educational with better quality explanations. Otherwise, history will be forgotten for such an amazing place.
JooZoo W — Google review
Part of Ayutthaya Historical Park, this ruined, wrenchingly beautiful Buddhist temple is an unseo site, with a central 115 feet prang, four smaller prangs, and eight Chedi-shaped chapels, on a rectangular platform. Some dos and don'ts: Taboos: food drink smoking climbing scratching sitting bottle of water is allowed tho. Outfit taboos: strapless tank top wide neck crop top shorts, low waist pants miniskirt No, you don't need to take your shoes off. This Temple was built in 1630 by Siam's King, Prasat Thong (1599-1655), as a memorial to his mother's residence. It was his first Temple during his reign. The name meant Temple of long reign and glorious era. Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, outside Ayutthaya island, this site a major tourist attraction. Many young women (perhaps locals?) rent the traditional outfits from many shops across the street, and use the park as a background for photos. Many of our tour mates squeezed in for a show, and they politely welcomed/tolerated us.
Irene E — Google review
Ongoing reconstruction makes it less attractive but a stunning temple site. If you visit on a boat tour you may be disappointed with the amount of time available. Best to go by car/motorcycle and explore at your leisure.

Chao Sam Phraya National Museum is a treasure trove of relics and artifacts from Ayutthaya's rich history. Established in 1961, the museum showcases significant items such as Buddha statues from Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and relics from the crypt of Wat Mahathat.
Very cool to read about it and see all the intricate pieces. They are renovating the original museum so we didn't get to see all the old Buddha statues.

Its nice When i went, there was a golden fish case on display and many horse shaped gold pieces. I liked it The Thai tea swan icecream was the best, the texture and flavor is the best

Chach S — Google review
New building has prepared well dispayed information and national treasure. Definitely a olace to visit if you are in the city.
Pat P — Google review
The treasures exhibited in this place gave us a chance to glimpse the once-prosperous Ayutthaya kingdom before its fall after the invasion by the Burmese. The craftsmanship of those treasures will definitely give you a feeling of surprise due to their quaint designs. It's said that the treasures shown in the museum are parts of those that were well-kept deep in the ground/under the stupas of some historical parks, which were not ransacked by the invaders. It's said that almost 80% of the treasures were ransacked by the invaders. The ticket is not expensive. But currently, only the gold exhibition section can be visited; the other parts are closed for renovation, which might take years to complete. There was a cafe outside of the museum. Visited in year 2023.
Ade H — Google review
A cornerstone of Ayutthaya's historical landscape, this renowned museum showcases authentic artifacts and is an essential stop for anyone exploring the city. Its popularity extends to both tourists and Thai visitors from across the country.
Jerry N — Google review
This is the National Museum located in the Ayutthaya Historical Area. You can see the splendid cultural heritage of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Currently you can see the Gold Treasure Exhibition Hall, which was opened to display gold treasures discovered at temples including Wat Ratchaburana and Wat Mahathat, due to the remodeling of the main building.

Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan, also known as the temple of the seated Buddha, is a historic and ornate temple complex located by the river. Dating back to before the founding of the Ayutthaya Kingdom, it has survived fires and been renovated over time. The main hall houses an impressive 19-meter tall sitting Buddha statue that attracts both locals and visitors.
This place is beautiful. It is a very old temple that has been with Ayutthaya Province. It is located next to a large river. Many people come to make merit here. There is a lot of parking space.

We had a great experience visiting this old monastry. A bonus witnessing a new monk celebration. It houses Thailand's largest ancient Buddha image. Admission fee is 20 Baht. Children are free.
Christel — Google review
Old of the most popular Buddhist temple in Ayudhaya. Especially the weekend this temple is packed with tourists coming to worship the giant Buddha statue and all the duties. The temple is very well maintained and continuously undated the structure to facilitate the worshippers. To see the giant golden Buddha at this temple is one of the kinds experience
Sandee T — Google review
Wat Phanan Choeng, Ayutthaya – A Majestic Sanctuary of Faith and Grace Historical Background Wat Phanan Choeng, located on the east bank of the Chao Phraya River in Ayutthaya, is one of Thailand’s most revered temples. This ancient monastery was established in 1324, even before the founding of the Ayutthaya Kingdom. It has long served as a spiritual anchor for Thai and Chinese communities and remains a place of deep worship and cultural pride. The Beauty of Luang Pho To (Phra Phuttha Trai Rattana Nayok) At the heart of the temple lies Luang Pho To, an immense gilded Buddha image seated in the “subduing Mara” posture. Measuring approximately 19 meters high, the statue is a breathtaking sight, exuding serenity and compassion. The craftsmanship is intricate — the smooth golden surface, the peaceful facial expression, and the grandeur of the red and gold interior all combine to create a truly majestic atmosphere. Sacred Power and Miracles Luang Pho To is not just admired for his beauty, but also deeply venerated for his sacred power. Locals and pilgrims from all over the country visit to pray for blessings, particularly in areas of health, business success, family harmony, and safe travels. Many worshippers have reported their prayers being answered, making the temple a revered place of faith. How to Make a Wish To pay respect and make a wish: 1. Light incense and offer lotus flowers in front of Luang Pho To. 2. Present gold leaf and robes to the image. 3. Kneel, pray with sincerity, and make your wish. 4. After making your wish, it is customary to return to fulfill your vow once your wish comes true — often by offering offerings such as garlands, sweets, or chanting. Getting There 🚗 By Car: From Bangkok, take Highway No. 1 or the Phahonyothin Road and connect to Highway 32 toward Ayutthaya. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. The temple is well-signposted and has ample parking available. 🚆 By Train: Take a train from Bangkok Railway Station (Hua Lamphong) to Ayutthaya Station — the ride takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. From the station, you can take a tuk-tuk or ferry across the river to the temple. ⸻ Final Thoughts Wat Phanan Choeng is more than just a tourist site — it’s a living spiritual sanctuary. Whether you’re seeking a quiet moment of reflection, wishing for good fortune, or admiring Thai artistry, this temple offers a profound and moving experience that touches the heart of every visitor.
Sutthiphat I — Google review
A very beautiful and well-maintained temple. Many local people come here to pray. It’s also open to visitors, and they are considerate toward tourists.
EISUKE I — Google review
Visited this temple on a weekday afternoon. Fed fishes at the river. A tip, the road side vendors sells fish food in bigger bulk. It’s very satisfying to see the fishes eat. The temple is a very peaceful place to be.
Ryan T — Google review
This is an active temple. There is no fee but donations are accepted. After visiting the temple compound you can step over to the river to feed gigantic cat fish. I actually got to see a few cargo ships float by while there.

Wat Phra Ram is a 14th-century temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand, known for its crumbling yet picturesque religious site with Buddha images carved on the external walls and several ornate stupas. The temple offers an Instagrammable view reflected in the water of Bueng Phra Ram lake, especially at sunset.
One of the world heritage in Thailand. Totally worth a try to have a visit. Even ignored the history and story about these temple, still have very nice views, I believe there will be some light shows during some festival, course I saw some light beside the temple.

It's a very historical place, there are 3 areas, you can buy 1 ticket for all 3. There are plaques explaining the buildings and there is an app? you can use to point your phone camera at a building and it will show you how it looked originally. A wonderful and very interesting day out.
Thomas G — Google review
This is one of the historical temples we visited while touring in Ayuththaya. It was beautiful. The pathways are clearly marked showing where people can walk around. It does get very warm here during the open hours so make sure to either pick up an umbrella or take your own cap.
Chathurika R — Google review
This is another historical temple ruins located in the Ayutthaya Historical Park. It's mesmerizing to observe the ruins of an ancient civilization that was formed in Ayuttaya many centuries ago. They have had a rich history here and you can imagine that by looking at the structures that remains here today as ruins. So great. Have a look next time when you visit Ayutthaya.
Isuru D — Google review
Wat Phra Ram is a beautiful ancient temple complex similar to Wat Mahathat, but with its own unique charm. The old ruins and tall prang create a majestic view surrounded by nature. It feels peaceful, full of history, and perfect for taking photos and enjoying the atmosphere of old Ayutthaya.
Lazizbek E — Google review
Wat Phra Ram is another historical landmark in Ayutthya Kingdom. Though its its much less visited than the others. The place is close to Wat phra Si Sanphat. We visited during the afternoon and it was almost empty. Very few tourists visit this place but its definitely worth the visit. The entry ticket is 50 baht for foreigners but you can buy the group ticket for 200 baht and visit all the historical sites. The remains of the kingkom are worth admiring. The walking path are clearly marked and the several benches are there to sit and take rest The place is very clean and well maintained.
Animesh K — Google review
An average temple experience that won't blow you away. Visited during my Ayutthaya trip and honestly, it was a bit underwhelming. While clean, it lacks the wow factor. The grounds are easily accessible and not too crowded, which is nice, but there isn't much to see or do here. The small lake next to it adds some atmosphere, but that's about it. You can walk around the whole place in about 15-20
Mateusz O — Google review
The atmosphere here is calm, perfect for exploring or taking photos without the heavy crowds of more famous temples like Wat Mahathat or Wat Sri Sanphet. It has an impressive central prang (tower) surrounded by crumbling but still majestic structures. I love visiting this in the early morning or late afternoon when the lighting makes the ruins look even more stunning. While there isn’t much shade, the reflections of the ruins in the nearby pond add to the charm. If you're into history or just want a quiet place to soak in the beauty of Ayutthaya, Wat Phra Ram is definitely worth a visit! 10 baht entrance for Thai and 50 baht for foreigners.

Worth the visit. No entry free to get into the historical park, however some temples inside have an entry fee.

This is an archaeological excavation site over the ruins of the former capital of Siam from the 13th century. The conditions here are large, with ruins over a large area, which the first four photos are an example of. If you are going to see everything within the walls, you need to calculate some time, and if you are visiting the place for the first time, it may be sensible. Water can also be good to have in backup, it can get hot without too much shade. This is a great place to visit for those who like this type of ruins, but it can be recommended for everyone to experience a piece of history from the past. There are various sales stalls outside the walls, and in the surrounding area, and there is plenty of parking before entering the area within the walls.

Impressive ruins of temples, palaces, and monasteries that date back to the 14th to 18th centuries. It's a wonderful destination for history enthusiasts and those interested in exploring ancient Thai architecture and culture. - Bring comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, and a camera to capture the stunning sights. - A guided tour can enrich your experience with historical insights and stories about the site. - Visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon can help avoid crowds and enjoy cooler weather.

Personally disappointed - almost 90 percent in dilapidated conditions - broken Lord Buddha statues in various stages of disfigurement - entrance charges are THB 50, clothing rules apply - see pictures for all details - Standard tourist F&B, shopping and parking for small cars. Ayothaya Floating Market

Floating market
The Ayothaya Floating Market is a must-visit in the city, offering a unique experience with souvenir shops and eateries lining the waterway. Visitors can explore by walking or taking a boat ride, observing boats selling hot food and vendors on wooden walkways. Managed by local tourist authorities, it provides a concentrated version of a traditional floating market.
This is a wonderful place to visit on a quiet afternoon. There are many shops/stalls selling all kinds of things, from ice cream to shirts to souvenirs. The best part for me was the actual getting to the market, which involved an optional(?) motorised canal boat ride which took approximately five minutes. The water is beautiful, and so are the wooden huts, walkways, and bridges. I managed just fine limping with my walking stick, but I don't think it's wheelchair accessible, and the boat ride definitely isn't. This is fairly standard for Thailand, though: disabled access is rare. Hopefully this will change over time. Still, it gets full marks from me.
Elbo B — Google review
An opportunity for my wife to ride an elephant. The animals appear to be well cared for and happy. The Mahouts will try to get extra money for taking your picture and selling trinkets. We had an excellent meal at a restaurant there too. I had a hot Mocha coffee which was not hot or nice.
Ross T — Google review
Great floating market but a bit annoyed that thai citizens are free but it costs 200thb for falang, admittedly you do get boat ride thrown in. Market is mainly food stalls with a few clothing and gift stalls to browse. All in all a pleasant enough experience.
Stan H — Google review
Personally, I've always loved floating markets as they have a sober and relaxing feel to them. Ayutthaya floating market is a very nice place for a day out for couples, families, etc. There are some decent restaurants by the river side and you can also shop around for small items. I liked the massage shop there, their foot massage was very relaxing. Also consider taking the boat ride with your family☺️. They have the elephant ride right outside the market area..
Dharma V — Google review
This place had mixed reviews so we were a bit uncertain about visiting it. In addition, the floating market there is created for tourists not a real floating market. But we were pleasantly surprised by several aspects. First the boat ride that came with the entry ticket (80) gave a good overview to the whole place. Next, the food selection was good and of very decent quality. It was either priced competitively or just a tad above non tourist places. Third, the shops selling clothes and other items were priced competitively, definitely no tourist pricing. In addition, the selection was good and many of them spoke English. Fourth, there was a free show (in Thai, which we didn't understand), presumably about the thai people's historical fight against foreign domination. It has worth the entrance fee. We didn't participate in the elephant section because we noticed the elephants were chained at their ankles and they didn't appear to be well treated. This impression may be wrong as I don't know much about elephants. But I was not comfortable with what I saw.
Peter E — Google review
SCAM SCAM SCAMMITY SCAM SCAM - This attraction is the quintessential engineered tourist trap. The entry ticket of 200 THB for foreigners is 2.5 times the price of entering the entire old city complex, which actually provides value. The attraction is poorly maintained, opens late (we arrived by bike from across the river at 9.05 and it didn't open till 9.10). Our Thai friends were ashamed by how crap this place is, and even the staff seem embarrassed by how pathetically fake, and poorly operated the whole thing is. Do yourself a favor and skip it. To add insult to injury the elephant camp across has some of the most sad and bored elephants I've seen in a while. I love Ayutthaya, and come here often, it's one of my favorite getaways, but the floating market isn't worth your time.

Not bad to visit. But be sure to visit during weekends, during weeks there is nobody, the please is rather death. However, there are elephants you can see, feed and drive of you wish.

We visited the Ayothaya Floating Market after lunch. This place is quite interesting and we enjoyed the boat ride. There are many vendors selling their goods and you can find souvenir items, local products, trinkets, food, drinks and snacks. Most of the stalls sell the same things. We had some refreshing Thai Teas because it was a hot day. We also saw some tourists riding on the elephants.

Wat Na Phra Meru Rachikaram is a significant Ayutthaya-period temple that houses unique Buddha statues, including one in regal garb and another made of green stone from the Dvaravati period. The temple features historical importance, having been the site of peace talks between Thai and Burmese kings in 1569 and serving as a base for a Burmese attack on the royal palace in 1760.
A well maintained historical temple. A must visit temple whereby there is a Buddha in a cave like maintained in a house was mentioned it was 1500 years old.

Yet another amazing temple. Beautiful architecture and statues throughout. It was busy with the locals on the Friday when I visited around lunchtime. The pathing is clear so you won't get lost. No cost to enter.

This is definitely one of the buddhistic temples in Ayutthaya you should visit. I found it overall a bit different then most of the other temples, even though of course the typical things are there, like Buddha statues. But to me the surroundings felt different, they also have a green marble Buddha which is 1500 years old, according to the text panels on the place, this one is in a side temple, in the main temple there is a big golden Buddha. As always you have to wear appropriate clothes and no shoes are allowed inside the temples. In the back there is a nice little garden, good for some pictures. I spent about 30 minutes there, the ticket was 20 Baht, which is very affordable in my eyes.

Why Wat Na Phra Men Should Be on Your Ayutthaya Bucket List ✨ When people think of Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Thailand, they usually picture the famous Buddha head wrapped in tree roots at Wat Mahathat, or the elegant row of chedis at Wat Phra Si Sanphet. But here’s a little secret: there’s another temple in Ayutthaya that deserves just as much attention—Wat Na Phra Men. This hidden gem sits quietly across the river from the Grand Palace area, away from the tourist crowds, and it’s got more than a few surprises waiting for you. ⸻ The Golden Glory 🌟 Walk into the main hall, and—wow!—you’re instantly greeted by a massive golden Buddha that shines like the sun. The room is decorated with tall red-and-gold patterned columns, sparkling chandeliers, and an ornate ceiling that feels like stepping into a royal palace. It’s jaw-dropping, majestic, and the kind of place that makes you just stop and whisper, “Whoa.” ⸻ The Black Buddha 🖤 But Wat Na Phra Men doesn’t stop there. Head to another hall, and you’ll find something completely different: a mysterious black stone Buddha statue. This one feels ancient, serene, and powerful. While the golden Buddha dazzles, this black Buddha calms. Together, they make a perfect yin-yang of spiritual energy. ⸻ How to Get There 🚗🚂🚲 • From Bangkok: Hop on a train or van and you’ll be in Ayutthaya in about 1.5–2 hours. • By car: Super easy—just drive up Highway 1 or 32, and you’re there in less than 2 hours. • Once you’re in town, hire a tuk-tuk, rent a bicycle, or grab a scooter to temple-hop your way through Ayutthaya. Wat Na Phra Men is just north of the Royal Palace grounds, right across the Lopburi River. ⸻ Other Must-Sees Nearby 🏯 Since you’re already exploring, don’t miss: • Wat Phra Si Sanphet – the former royal temple with its iconic three chedis. • Wat Mahathat – where the famous Buddha head rests peacefully in tree roots. • Ayutthaya Historical Park – a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with ruins and stories. • Chao Sam Phraya National Museum – for treasure lovers and history buffs. • Ayutthaya Floating Market – snacks, souvenirs, and lots of fun vibes. ⸻ Why It Belongs on Your List 🎒 Wat Na Phra Men is not just another temple—it’s a hidden treasure. You’ll get to marvel at the glittering golden Buddha, feel the quiet power of the black stone Buddha, and enjoy a calm break from the busier temples in Ayutthaya. It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve uncovered a secret slice of history and spirituality all in one stop. ✨ Pro tip: Visit early in the morning for a peaceful vibe and cooler weather. And remember to dress respectfully—temples are living places of worship. ⸻ 👉 So, next time you’re temple-hopping in Ayutthaya, don’t just follow the crowd. Make sure Wat Na Phra Men is on your bucket list—you’ll thank yourself later!

A well-known temple for praying for children and fertility. Many people visit to worship, and those who’ve had their prayers answered come back to offer toys and children’s clothes in gratitude. It’s lively and full of energy — one of the most charming temples in Ayutthaya.

Founded in 1357, this is an active temple with resident Buddhist monks. There is a large white reclining Buddha in the temple. Many Buddhists come to pay respects at this historic site. Visitors can climb up a flight of stairs into the main temple complex where they can pray for good fortune by dropping a coin into the wishing well. The bell shaped chedi is the main attraction in this beautiful ancient temple.

The friendly waitstaff pays attention to detail, evident in the presentation of dishes with small touches like flower garnishes.
Located opposite Wat Mahathat. Tried their pad thai and Spaghetti Fried Chilli. Food and coffee are delicious but the waiting time is quite long (about 40 minutes) and it worth the wait. Chill Atmosphere.

We randomly went in here as we felt tired after walking around in Ayuththaya. The food and drinks were awesome. In addition they were prepared artfully in a unique way. The prices are very reasonable but the food portion size is really small. But then again this seems to be the standard portion size in Thailand. The food did taste good and fresh. The service was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful with ordering. The atmosphere is very unique and welcoming. There weren't many guests when we went in but there were a few tourists just like us. I would definitely recommend stopping by here if you are in Ayuththaya.

The menu features local staples as well as French pastries, with their tom yum spaghetti being particularly popular among visitors. Additionally, they serve homemade ice cream and other delectable desserts.
I traveled here all the way from California, and I have to say, this has been my best experience at Auttyah yet. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. The food selection was impressive, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Every dish I tried was flavorful and well-prepared, but the highlight for me was the organic coconut cake—it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, a fantastic dining experience! 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent Thai Western fusion style cuisine with a little kick. Really enjoyed the food here. Dined with a group of eight, sharing dishes, and everyone of the items we had bursted with flavor. Desserts were also great, and the outside view of the river gave the place s nice ambience. Great stuff!

I recently visited The Summer House, a cozy restaurant near the river and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of dessert. Especially truffle tart was crisp and flavorful, adding just the right amount of saltiness and texture to each bite.

Went there for a cup of coffee as I admire the coffee beans that are roasted in-house. Rum Resin Latte was great as always. However, it was quite surprising for me that they had fewer choices of coffee beans compared with their shops in Bangkok. However, the location by the river answers all what’s missing.

The Summer House Ayutthaya offers a great riverside atmosphere with both air-conditioned and outdoor seating. Their signature dishes are Thai fusion, including fried gourami with rice, gourami in sour soup, and burnt cheesecake. You won't be disappointed. The average price per person is 250-500 baht, which is reasonable for the view and atmosphere. A word of caution: it's extremely hot during the day, and on holidays, it can get quite crowded, leading to a wait. Overall, this is a must-visit when in Ayutthaya. It's both delicious and photogenic.

Baan Kao Nhom is a stylish cafe located in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, offering a wide variety of traditional Thai desserts. The cafe's vibrant green exterior with European-style design makes it stand out among other shops. It is popular among both locals and tourists, evident from the continuous flow of visitors. This hidden gem not only serves authentic Thai candy and desserts but also offers fusion desserts for those looking for a more westernized treat.
This is a cute cafe with many choices of drinks and Thai desserts. I ordered Thai Tea with no sugar, it was pretty good, not the best in Thailand but I would order again if I visit Ayutthaya in the future. My friends got Butterfly Pea w/t Milk which was quite sweet, and Butterfly Pea Lemon which was like lime juice. You can ask the staff to make the drinks without sugar and give you sugar syrup in a separate container so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. What impressed me was the clean shop and very clean washroom compared to some tourism places in Ayutthaya. The cool store gave me a nice break from the heat outside. I didn’t try the desserts because I heard they were a bit too sweet, but they do have a big selection.

Accidentally found this place while wandering aimlessly in the neighborhood. Glad we found it coz it served such delicious grilled squid and a big ruby fish crisply fried. Price was a bit more than our usual budget but so worth it. We were worried that the grilled squid would take time but it was served within 10 minutes or less. Good taste, fresh ingredients, authentic thai taste. Nice river view. Not crowded. Ordered 5 prawns 1,500 thb, very fresh and tender, prawn price is less than other popular restaurants. Restaurant atmosphere might look old and hard to find parking but I recommend for foods.

Fantastic food, polite and lovely service. Amazing seafood but fantastic options for vegetarians too, and it was very clear what food was and was not veggie. View of the river was fantastic! They also sell fish food to attract the fish.
Colette R — Google review
Don't waste your money here.... We attended as a group of 13 of which 11 are Thai. The majority vote was that the food was not authentic in any way. Tom yum soup was pretty much water with a squeeze of lemon. Fish cakes were rubbery in taste Prawn cakes lacked any sort of flavour or seasoning Egg fried rice was over seasoned and salty The green curry was awful - can't even give a break down as to why it was bad. Prawn vermicelli noodles were basic, lacked flavour. Stir fried vegetables - under cooked. Vegetables were still raw. Steamed rice, which you can't get wrong, was slightly soggy. We had more ordered but cancelled the rest as just didn't want to go through the trauma of tasting bad food. During the whole time, not once did the staff come over and asked if they're able to resolve the issue even after we voiced our concerns, they just backed away. What they did get right was the Chang beer, that tasted the same as everywhere else 🤣

My favorite restaurant every time I visit Ayutthaya. The giant prawn is very fresh and grilled on coal (that’s what I love the most). The other food is excellent. Great location next to the river, it is beautiful at night. Highly recommend it.

I have never been disappointed in thai food. But this place made us cancel the rest of our order and leave. Everything was just bland, no flavour. I've never done anything like leaving a restaurant half way through, but this place will leave you wondering if they plucked a chef who has no taste buds from rural England to cook Thai food. Avoid at all cost

Food was ok, shrimp is great. The only downside is the chair and table are full of ant and some remain food still on the chair and floor. Seafood paste should be a bit more spicy according to Thai standard. Need a better cleaning process. All staff are polite tho.

One of the best places we ate in Ayutthaya, the service was very good, location lovely and food pretty good too and much preferred it to the more famous, but not worth it, restaurant next door. The river shrimp were delicious and huge, cooked really well. The only thing we were a little disappointed by was the fish in chili, garlic and lime sauce, as it was not spicy or sour enough by comparison to when we have eaten it before. Price was reasonable, not cheap, but river prawns are never cheap. Overall, well worth it!

Pae Krung Kao Restaurant, a beloved establishment in Ayutthaya, has been serving up authentic Thai cuisine since 1966. Located near the picturesque Wat Rattanachai temple and just a stone's throw from the serene Chao Phraya River, this charming eatery offers diners not only delicious meals but also stunning riverside views from its inviting terrace.
Opened for more than 50 years, this traditional Thai restaurant is a living legendary and continue serving their delicious menus. This place is actually one of my favorites place for my family nsine I was a young kid. Must try menus including grilled river prawn, green curry with fish ball stuffers with salted egg, Deep fried soft-fleshed fish, and many many more. Recently, Micheline Guide just have this restaurant in the list, Which make this place even more popular and hard to get the table without early booking for the busy day like weekend. Definitely go back again and again. Love this place.

Good taste, but only one downside is the price of their signature grilled prawn. A bit too pricey considering the size. Recommendable to book in advance if you prefer air-conditioned tables or going earlier to get seats outside.

Not sure why this place only has 4 stars in their reviews. The food is absolutely delicious, every single dish we ordered. The beef oyster sauce was fantastic! The staff is very friendly and the views on the river are beautiful too. It is a very big restaurant suitable for bigger groups as well.

We had a really good meal here. The specialty is Thai seafood. The locations on the river is beautiful. The food was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful but they spoke minimal English. The menus are Thai but translateable with Google.

Superb seafood in Ayutthaya on the river bank. Super fresh , tasty and huge prawns. We also had deep fried battered prawns, corn sticks and green vegetable. All tasted fantastic with a nice sweet dipping sauce. Tom yum goong was good but sadly lacked a little flavour and spice. But the prawns are to die for. The dipping sauce was beautifully balanced with spice, salt from fish sauce and zest from limes. If you get a table close to the outside you can enjoy a great view of the river.

Chao Phrom Market is a vibrant traditional market in Ayutthaya, dating back to the time of the city's capital. It offers a wide variety of goods, from local delicacies and fresh produce to unique merchandise not found elsewhere. The market never closes and is always bustling with activity, offering everything from fruits, vegetables, fish, and meats to electrical and household goods. Visitors can indulge in affordable and mouthwatering meals while exploring local Thai flavors at the street stalls.
Very good local market. Can get fresh vegetables, meat, seafood and breakfast/food

Very beautiful. After taking the locomotive train from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, cross over from the train station to take a ferry to Chao Phrom pier. It's only 10 baht. From there, you can charter a bicycle, motorcycle or tuk tuk tour at a very cheap rate from a shop name December House. It's a wonderful shop run by a lady named Nid Noi. Very honest, helpful and welcoming person.

Plenty of food and drink on offer. Great prices, and very close to the top pile of bricks you pay 200 baht to see

Thai restaurant
Baan Mai Rim Num AYUTTHAYA is a popular riverside restaurant in Ayutthaya, known for serving traditional seafood dishes family-style. The casual, open-air eatery offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, attracting both locals and tourists. One of the highlights is the grilled jumbo river prawns, which are sold by weight and known for their succulent and sweet meat.
It was a fantastic dining experience! The food was excellent, and the service was both efficient and genuinely warm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The seafood was particularly impressive and could be adjusted to suit our spice tolerance. The ambiance captured an authentic provincial Thai feel, which added to the charm. We appreciated the option of an air-conditioned area—a welcome break from the heat—while the riverside section offered a breezy and pleasant alternative for those who prefer outdoor dining. Overall, we’d definitely rate this as one of the best restaurants we visited, especially considering the quality relative to the price.
Omar V — Google review
Great river prawns!! Other dishes are fine, nothing special! We have ordered 8 prawns, but got only 3 after finishing all dishes. The rest we packed it home! It was a bit strange!! The price is a bit high compared to nearby restaurants. Parking is not available, only street parking.
Pichet P — Google review
The food looked good in the photos but was awful in real life. Despite being a seafood restaurant, the seafood was far from fresh. The spicy sour soup with squid eggs was disappointing. The squid was mushy and the eggs watery. The steamed mussels were dry and tasteless. The fish cakes were very dark as if they had been sitting out too long. The soft-shell crab with curry powder was greasy and soaked in oil. The only dish that was good was the grilled river prawns. They were fresh and tasty. They cost 1,400 baht per kilogram for five prawns. I am not sure if that is expensive, but the total bill for two people came to almost 3,000 baht. If the seafood had been fresh and flavorful, the price would have felt reasonable. As it was, it felt like a waste of money. I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from hotel staff who said it was a local favorite, but it left me disappointed. The riverside location is nice, but the atmosphere is just average. One side of the restaurant is right next to a ferry pier, and boats leave every five minutes. There was a strong smell of boat fuel.

Dropped by for dinner, quite a few people in, nice atmosphere, very friendly, reasonably priced and good food, have grilled river prawns, like most places priced on weight, very tasty. Overlooks river, ferry just near it taking motor bikes etc across, fascinating to watch. The frontage is set back from the road then you go through some prep/storage bit to get to it.

Riverside Thai restaurant with their famous grilled River prawn. If you plan to come here after 12:00 I’d recommend reservation in advance(River prawns also should be reserved too). They offer variety of Thai foods which were all very delicious with reasonable price. The grilled river prawns have many sizes/prices to choose from. They were heavenly tasty, juicy and perfectly prepared! After you order Grilled river prawns, they will be a menu which the prawns’s claw meat will be used to make such as stirred fried with seasonings, omelet and etc. for a special price. If you have UOB credit card I highly recommend to use them as they likely are main sponsor for this restaurant and have special promotions.

As a chef, I Definitely recommend this place foods was Delicious!! Flavour full and authentic Thai food. Prawns in tamarind sauce well balanced with fresh pineapple and crispy fried Betal leaf. Spicy Pork minced stir fried lots of heat and chilli but you got a side herbs fresh Cumin leaves, cucumber, snake beans, white turmeric and pickles garlic OMG you don’t want to miss this one if you are a chilli eater like me. Tom Klong catfish , fresh herbs clear broth with deep fried catfish. Like no other Thai curry, none coconut base soup but light and fresh herbs plus a kick of chilli makes it incredible dishes. Fast and kind service good atmosphere family friendly you name it. All in all, you won’t be disappointed if you pick this restaurant for your lunch or dinner. Recommended!!!

Local restaurant just by the riverside with reasonable price and fresh ingredients. Must try the grilled fresh river prawns- juicy, sweet and well cooked. Har mok had a bunch of spices inside and was fragrant. Tomyum was kind of diluted, would skip.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were blown away by the quality of the food. Perhaps the best meal we've had while in Thailand. The lobster is more expensive than everything else, but every dish we ordered was truly outstanding. We got the sliced pork, Tom Yam Soup, a coconut filled with seafood, garlic shrimp and lobster. Service was great too. Great views too! Would come back again and again.

Hua Ro Market is an old market. There was a movie theater called Chalermsri, which was the best at that time. In many communities around the island city, there are Chao Phraya River, Pa Sak River, Lopburi River and a canal called Khlong Muang, which connect around like an island. Communities around the island city that are big and developed, such as Hua Ro Market, Hua Laem Market, liquor factory, Ban Yuan, Wat Phutthaisawan, Pom Phet, railway station, Hor Rattanachai Market. Going back about 70-100 years ago, it was a community that was like a port city where most people traveled, studied, traded vegetables, fruits, teak, logs, sand boats, water barriers, railways, and rafts up and down districts and provinces from the central region, the northern region, and down to Bangkok. Hua Ro Market is a distribution point for goods that are shops on land and rafts on the water to other districts and neighboring provinces. Most of the entrepreneurs are Chinese. Most of the Thais are civil servants, food vendors, gardeners, fishermen. Muslims are fishermen, weavers for carp, drivers, and barbers. Around the island city, there are mostly Thais, Chinese, and Muslims.

It's a cross between a market and a mall. An oldish arrangement of shops and houses under high domed roofs mainly made of glass panels, and open to two wheeler traffic .It's sensibly cooler here under the vaulted alleys than in the streets. But apparently not much frequented nowadays. Many massage salons (traditional) are hosted here too. Unfortunately no “cafés".

Domestic airport
Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) is a bustling airport located in the Bangkok area, offering various amenities such as a spa and a playground. The Airport Rail Link provides convenient transportation to and from the city center, with trains departing frequently throughout the day. For travelers with connecting flights or early morning departures, accommodations within the airport are available but can be pricey.
I recently traveled through Suvarnabhumi International Airport and had a very smooth experience. I was truly impressed by how well the facilities are managed to ensure everything moves quickly and efficiently. Since I was traveling with an infant, I was initially concerned about the process, but to my surprise, everything was well taken care of. From check-in to security and boarding, the staff and arrangements made the journey comfortable and stress-free. The fast-track facilities and organized flow really stood out. Overall, it was a hassle-free experience, and I appreciate the care and attention given to passengers, especially those traveling with babies. Definitely one of the better international airports I’ve traveled through.
Suraj S — Google review
Tested by millions of visitors every year, accessible by bus, cars and metro. Many options for transport to main touristic destination organised by agencies on ground floor arrivals. Train is most convenient and cheapest way to get to downtown. Cheap food court on ground floor, prices inside airport are 3 to 5 times higher. Otherwise many choices for eating but rather expensive. Immigration check efficient when entering and even more efficient when departing, made by scanner only

I recently had a fantastic experience at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Check-in was very quick and the overall flow through the airport was incredibly smooth. I was particularly impressed with the super fast immigration process for e-passport holders of all nationalities. Security was also simple and smooth, which really helped to start my journey stress-free. The amenities were great as well—the airport shuttle and lounge are really good. A truly efficient and pleasant international transit hub

This is surely one of the best airports out there. Be it for departure or arrival. It's extremely clean, modern and well maintained. Lots of facilities all around - you never have to walk far to find a café, a shop, a lounge, a bathroom. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Security check is pretty quick, passport control is also very fast (some are even full-digital). There are lots of shops. Selling lots of souvenirs, but also some actually good Thai Snacks and products in case you've missed out on buying something. Also all the upscale shops like Louis Vuitton. Coffee shops, snack stalls and a lot of restaurants and food options. Whole food courts on the upper levels. The best food court although is a bit hidden and offers great, authentic food for very little money: "Magic Food Point (Airport Street food)". It's on the first floor. The best place to enjoy real good thai food in the airport. Lots of taxis waiting up front. Also private transfers, busses and more. I'd recommend taking a "Grab" car instead of a taxi. Way cheaper and the taxi quality (driver AND vehicle) have gotten a lot worse lately. It's a real fun airport. Never gets boring. And the shops and facilities are open late. Many open through! It's a 24/7 airport after all.

Spacious & organized with fairly efficient visa-on-arrival if your TDAC is filled out within three days. Keep the QR code ready at immigration. Transport options are simple and quick from arrivals. Exchange rates and SIM prices are weaker here, so I prefer bringing some Baht and using Airalo instead

A very well-designed airport with all the facilities you could possibly need. The shopping options are fantastic, with endless rows of luxury brands, electronics, and local souvenirs. The only things is the sheer size of the place. Be prepared for a LOT of walking. It felt like a marathon from the boarding gates to the lounges. Overall, it's a world-class airport, but give yourself extra time so you don't have to sprint.

Suvarnabhumi Airport is very large and beautifully designed with a modern look. It’s clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate even though it’s busy most of the time. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to explore while waiting for your flight, from local snacks to international brands. The facilities are well-maintained, and there are lots of seating areas to relax. Overall, it’s a comfortable and convenient airport that leaves a good impression before or after your trip to Bangkok.

Don Mueang International Airport

International airport
Domestic airport
Don Mueang International Airport, also known as DMK, is one of the two airports serving Bangkok and holds the distinction of being Asia's oldest airport, first opening its doors in 1914. After a period of closure following the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport, it was renovated and reopened in 2012. The airport is well-connected to the city center through various transportation options such as the Sukhumvit Line and Airport Rail Link.
I like how chill amd relaxed the vibe is at Don Mueang. Despite the number of people going through it it didnt feel cramped nor did it have that stressful rush that most big airports have but it still provides the modern comfort and convenience expected from any big airport. Checking in and dropping our bags was easy, all the staff who assisted us were extremely friendly and easy to interact with. While there were only a few open stores at the predeparture area there were more to choose from near the boarding gates however this becomes fewer again as you go further to the end. I just wish it was more spreadout. The same can be said with the vibe of the terminal. From tje central area including the checkin counters, most of the area feel modern but as you move to the boarding gates the dated look and feel of the terminal becomes more prominent. Despite that, there is plenty of seating for passengers and it still feels comfortable. Great experience going through Don Mueang, very easy to get through and has everything you need.
Maxwell J — Google review
I was honestly amazed by how beautiful Don Mueang Airport is! The place feels so bright, clean, and modern the moment you walk in. It’s super spacious, so even with a lot of people around, it never feels crowded. The lounges and seating areas are really comfortable and give off a luxurious vibe. I also loved how well-organized everything is — from check-in to boarding, it’s smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it’s one of the most elegant and pleasant airports I’ve been to. Great work by thai government

From the moment we landed at Don Mueang International Airport, it left a great first impression! The airport is clean, well organized, and welcoming, making both arrival and departure a smooth experience. When we arrived, everything felt efficient from immigration to baggage claim, the signage was clear, and the staff were helpful and friendly. It made settling into Bangkok so easy and stress free. And as we headed back home, the airport was just as pleasant. Navigating to our departure gate, checking in, and boarding our flight was seamless. Having the same modern, organized, and welcoming vibe for both our arrival and departure really made the start and end of our Bangkok trip comfortable and memorable. 🇹🇭✨

Don Mueang International Airport offers a smooth and efficient travel experience. Immigration is fast, and the terminal is clean, organized, and not too large making it easy to navigate. The facilities are well-maintained and got free drinking water!!, giving a comfortable impression from arrival to departure. For a cheap and quick trip to the city, you can take the A1 or A2 airport bus at the end of terminal, which connects directly to Mo Chit BTS Station and the MRT system. A super convenient and traveler-friendly airport overall!
Anton N — Google review
Terminal 2 on the south side serves domestic departures and arrivals, while Terminal 1 on the north side serves international departures and arrivals. A short corridor connects them, fully lined with seats and ample rest areas. The international departure area has a larger customs area, making it quite crowded. There are many public transportation options to and from the city. The air-conditioned Red Line subway and the non-air-conditioned windowed train are located on the south-most west side of the airport. To get there from Terminal 1 International, you need to go through Terminal 2 Domestic, a 600-700-meter walk. The airport shuttle bus stops outside the International Departures level of Terminal 1, located on the north-most west side of the airport, along the curb. Fares range from 30 to 50 baht, and the elevated express bus is a quick way to get there. 🎬2025.10

The decision to take Don Mueang International Airport as port of entry was based on the need to connect to a domestic flight to Roi-Et Airport, a much smaller facility in Northern Thailand. This was a good opportunity to get to know this facility, which did not disappoint, despite being the older of the two Bangkok airports. It's clean, secure, and well appointed. There's a charging point at the seating area for international flights (it could use maybe 1-2 more); a 24-Hour food court in the public area of Level 4; plus other takeaway and coffee shops dotting the entire facility. Toilets are very well kept, and the robot floor cleaners are very efficient, I saw several of them at the different times of the day I passed through DMK airport. After the trip to Roi-Et, I needed a few more days in Bangkok for meetings and stayed near DMK Airport. So everyday I used the SRT Red Line to get to Bangkok city centre and had brunch at Magic Garden food court (L4). On my last day I just stopped by Magic Food Park which is accessible from DMK train station and open until 21:30.

It's a Quiet big airport with lots of eating shopping options.. this airport is even have a free kids playing area..nice ambience staff is helpful n friendly. airport was clean n big.. plenty of sitting area. Note they don't have smoking area inside airport. So if you areca smoker then smoke a cigarette before you reachbthe airport.

I think this airport is always developing to keep pace with international airports. They have improved the restrooms, shops, and also the design and decoration. It look much better than before. I don't recommend driving here because it's quite hard to find a parking spot. Taking a taxi or Grab is much more convenient. The drivers are reliable because I think the taxis are partners of the airport.
