Restaurant
Coffee Old City is conveniently located near a large park and the Ayutthaya Historical Park, making it an ideal spot to fuel up before embarking on your adventures or to recharge while discussing your city exploration. The cozy and unpretentious atmosphere offers a comfortable setting to enjoy traditional Thai favorites like pad Thai, along with some Western comforts. The friendly waitstaff pays attention to detail, evident in the presentation of dishes with small touches like flower garnishes.
Located opposite Wat Mahathat. Tried their pad thai and Spaghetti Fried Chilli. Food and coffee are delicious but the waiting time is quite long (about 40 minutes) and it worth the wait. Chill Atmosphere.

We randomly went in here as we felt tired after walking around in Ayuththaya. The food and drinks were awesome. In addition they were prepared artfully in a unique way. The prices are very reasonable but the food portion size is really small. But then again this seems to be the standard portion size in Thailand. The food did taste good and fresh. The service was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful with ordering. The atmosphere is very unique and welcoming. There weren't many guests when we went in but there were a few tourists just like us. I would definitely recommend stopping by here if you are in Ayuththaya.
Chathurika R — Google review
In my personal opinion they have the best Tom Yum soup in Ayutthaya and Bangkok. Their soup always attracted me to come again when im back in the ancient city. Love it!
Leo L — Google review
Amazing location as you’re right opposite one of the temples of Ayutthaya. Also had the loveliest staff and a great selection of both Thai and western food. Has both indoor and outdoor seating too, which is a huge plus.
Jessie W — Google review
They have amazing coffee & Matcha tea - iced or not. We enjoyed breakfast. I can highly recommend to try the rice soup 🍲 Bonus: very clean bathrooms!

Hi anyone, this restaurant has such a good food and real taste, this is the right Thai food. We been here for 2 times but for sure will have more time. For all foreigners!!! If you want real Thai food then here a good choice 👍

Located in Ayutthaya, The Summer House is a modern café and eatery offering a mix of traditional Thai cuisine and fusion dishes. Situated near the Japanese Village Museum, it provides a perfect dining option after exploring the area. The menu features local staples as well as French pastries, with their tom yum spaghetti being particularly popular among visitors. Additionally, they serve homemade ice cream and other delectable desserts.
I traveled here all the way from California, and I have to say, this has been my best experience at Auttyah yet. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was top-notch. The food selection was impressive, with a wide variety of options to suit different tastes. Every dish I tried was flavorful and well-prepared, but the highlight for me was the organic coconut cake—it was absolutely delicious, with the perfect balance of sweetness and texture. If you’re visiting, I highly recommend giving it a try. Overall, a fantastic dining experience! 10/10 would recommend.
Lauren T — Google review
Excellent Thai Western fusion style cuisine with a little kick. Really enjoyed the food here. Dined with a group of eight, sharing dishes, and everyone of the items we had bursted with flavor. Desserts were also great, and the outside view of the river gave the place s nice ambience. Great stuff!
Conrad P — Google review
Perfect spot for a quick break! While many come for a full meal, I stopped by for a short rest and loved the relaxing vibe. The coffee is excellent, and the summer roll—made with soft, house-made milk bread and Ayutthaya River prawns—is a must-try. Lots of parking available, which made the visit super convenient. Highly recommended!

“Good food heals the soul.” The flavors are bold and shout-worthy.Even though it’s a Thai fusion restaurant, the authentic Thai taste truly stands out. Every dish is delicious from the appetizers and main courses to the desserts and drinks. It’s especially lovely at sunset, perfect for sipping wine in the evening. The prices are reasonable, and it’s definitely worth checking in. #ควรค่าแก่การเช็คอิน

I recently visited The Summer House, a cozy restaurant near the river and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and authenticity of dessert. Especially truffle tart was crisp and flavorful, adding just the right amount of saltiness and texture to each bite.
Waraporn N — Google review
Went there for a cup of coffee as I admire the coffee beans that are roasted in-house. Rum Resin Latte was great as always. However, it was quite surprising for me that they had fewer choices of coffee beans compared with their shops in Bangkok. However, the location by the river answers all what’s missing.
Wittapon J — Google review
When in Ayudhya the place to go for a meal or snacks is The Summer House. Beautifully located by the Riverside the restaurant provides a huge menu of savory and sweets.
Nutchanand O — Google review
The Summer House Ayutthaya offers a great riverside atmosphere with both air-conditioned and outdoor seating. Their signature dishes are Thai fusion, including fried gourami with rice, gourami in sour soup, and burnt cheesecake. You won't be disappointed. The average price per person is 250-500 baht, which is reasonable for the view and atmosphere. A word of caution: it's extremely hot during the day, and on holidays, it can get quite crowded, leading to a wait. Overall, this is a must-visit when in Ayutthaya. It's both delicious and photogenic.

Cafe
Baan Kao Nhom is a stylish cafe located in the ancient city of Ayutthaya, offering a wide variety of traditional Thai desserts. The cafe's vibrant green exterior with European-style design makes it stand out among other shops. It is popular among both locals and tourists, evident from the continuous flow of visitors. This hidden gem not only serves authentic Thai candy and desserts but also offers fusion desserts for those looking for a more westernized treat.
This is a cute cafe with many choices of drinks and Thai desserts. I ordered Thai Tea with no sugar, it was pretty good, not the best in Thailand but I would order again if I visit Ayutthaya in the future. My friends got Butterfly Pea w/t Milk which was quite sweet, and Butterfly Pea Lemon which was like lime juice. You can ask the staff to make the drinks without sugar and give you sugar syrup in a separate container so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. What impressed me was the clean shop and very clean washroom compared to some tourism places in Ayutthaya. The cool store gave me a nice break from the heat outside. I didn’t try the desserts because I heard they were a bit too sweet, but they do have a big selection.
Thuy P — Google review
This is a Thai dessert shop with truly authentic flavors, delicious, fragrant, and perfectly balanced in sweetness. They offer both traditional Thai sweets and drinks at affordable prices. Highly recommended :)
Rattinart C — Google review
This place is a desserts heaven! They have all kind of Thai desserts. The place is clean and desserts were delicious. We got coconut ice-cream and it was yummy!
Ticha N — Google review
Lovely cafe with a great vibe and tons of Thai desserts to try. To be honest, some of them I didn’t even know the name—very traditional and unique! The place is beautifully decorated and perfect for chilling or taking photos. I really enjoyed the sweets—both tasty and pretty. A great stop while visiting Ayutthaya.
Earn S — Google review
Baan Kao Nhom is a delightful fusion of traditional Thai desserts and modern cafe culture, making it a standout in Ayutthaya’s food scene. The vibrant atmosphere, diverse dessert selection, and refreshing drinks make it a perfect pitstop for recharging after exploring the city’s historic sites. While the weekend crowds and limited parking can be drawbacks, the authentic flavors, fair prices, and charming setup make it a must-visit for anyone craving a sweet escape. I’d recommend arriving early to snag the best desserts and enjoy the cozy vibe before the rush. Baan Kao Nhom is a true gem for dessert lovers and a highlight of any Ayutthaya trip—I’ll definitely return
David D — Google review
Baan Kao Nom is a must-visit every time I’m in Ayutthaya. This charming spot offers a wonderful selection of traditional Thai desserts — all beautifully presented and full of authentic flavor. The prices are very reasonable, and the cozy, relaxed atmosphere makes it a nice place to sit and enjoy a sweet break. That said, the place can get quite busy at times, especially on weekends. If you’re a fan of Thai sweets or looking to try something local, this place is definitely worth checking out!

Baan Kao Nhom (บ้านข้าวหนม) in Ayutthaya is a delightful café that masterfully combines traditional Thai desserts with a contemporary coffee culture. Nestled in the historic city of Ayutthaya, this café offers a perfect retreat for those looking to indulge in authentic Thai flavors while enjoying a modern, cozy atmosphere. The Thai coconut ice cream at Baan Kao Nhom is a standout. Creamy and refreshing, it encapsulates the essence of authentic Thai flavors and provides a perfect escape from the tropical heat of Ayutthaya. Another highlight is the Thong Yip, a traditional Thai dessert that is not only visually stunning but also bursts with delicate sweetness. Each piece reflects the intricate craftsmanship that goes into Thai dessert making, offering a true taste of the country's rich culinary heritage. In addition to their superb desserts, Baan Kao Nhom serves a robust and aromatic espresso. The rich, well-balanced coffee is a testament to the café's dedication to quality, making it an excellent complement to their sweet offerings. Whether you're a coffee enthusiast or simply in need of a caffeine fix, their espresso will not disappoint.

The cozy establishment provides both outdoor seating with views of nearby ruins and comfortable indoor options. It's an ideal spot to take a break after exploring Ayutthaya, offering a variety of Thai dishes for both adults and children.
I ate here 2 nights in a row while staying nearby. The food was really good. I recommend to try the mussel and pineapple curry. The service was good and it's a nice atmosphere.

There are many options of Vegetarian menu. I had Spicy glass noodle salad with Tofu ( It wasn't in vegetarian menu, so I asked staff to change from ground pork and shrimps to be vegetarian, she was kind and suggested me change it to be tofu. Very kind of her, and I had Green curry with Tofu, Both of them were delicious. The view was amazing as the restaurant is located in front of Wat Rachaburana 😊
BBella P — Google review
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food in this restaurant given that it seems to mainly cater for tourists. The rice with pineapple was delicious and the food was quite reasonably priced. My only criticism would be the number of flies, but otherwise top marks.
Richard D — Google review
Great little spot to grab a meal after visiting the ruins throughout the city. Very relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed the pork and eggplant dish that I got. So simple, yet full of flavor! There's a cute little cat that roams around the restaurant, too.

Delicious food. It's family-run business. They are very friendly. The prices are really decent. They are really accommodating. I'm vegan. Instead of the eggs, they proposed me to have tofu. They completely understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan. I completely recommend. We had diner her and came back the day after for lunch.

Ban U Thong is a restaurant located along the picturesque waterways of Ayutthaya, offering a diverse menu featuring an abundance of seafood delicacies and classic Thai dishes. The restaurant is renowned for its giant river prawns, served with a variety of delicious sauces. Visitors can enjoy their meal on the riverside terrace while watching passing boats. Additionally, Ban U Thong is conveniently situated near Wat Mahathat, making it an ideal lunch spot for those exploring the area by bike.
Good taste, fresh ingredients, authentic thai taste. Nice river view. Not crowded. Ordered 5 prawns 1,500 thb, very fresh and tender, prawn price is less than other popular restaurants. Restaurant atmosphere might look old and hard to find parking but I recommend for foods.
Krisd C — Google review
Fantastic food, polite and lovely service. Amazing seafood but fantastic options for vegetarians too, and it was very clear what food was and was not veggie. View of the river was fantastic! They also sell fish food to attract the fish.
Colette R — Google review
Don't waste your money here.... We attended as a group of 13 of which 11 are Thai. The majority vote was that the food was not authentic in any way. Tom yum soup was pretty much water with a squeeze of lemon. Fish cakes were rubbery in taste Prawn cakes lacked any sort of flavour or seasoning Egg fried rice was over seasoned and salty The green curry was awful - can't even give a break down as to why it was bad. Prawn vermicelli noodles were basic, lacked flavour. Stir fried vegetables - under cooked. Vegetables were still raw. Steamed rice, which you can't get wrong, was slightly soggy. We had more ordered but cancelled the rest as just didn't want to go through the trauma of tasting bad food. During the whole time, not once did the staff come over and asked if they're able to resolve the issue even after we voiced our concerns, they just backed away. What they did get right was the Chang beer, that tasted the same as everywhere else 🤣
Trinh N — Google review
My favorite restaurant every time I visit Ayutthaya. The giant prawn is very fresh and grilled on coal (that’s what I love the most). The other food is excellent. Great location next to the river, it is beautiful at night. Highly recommend it.
Mai N — Google review
I have never been disappointed in thai food. But this place made us cancel the rest of our order and leave. Everything was just bland, no flavour. I've never done anything like leaving a restaurant half way through, but this place will leave you wondering if they plucked a chef who has no taste buds from rural England to cook Thai food. Avoid at all cost
Premmin V — Google review
Food was ok, shrimp is great. The only downside is the chair and table are full of ant and some remain food still on the chair and floor. Seafood paste should be a bit more spicy according to Thai standard. Need a better cleaning process. All staff are polite tho.
Exerr ( — Google review
One of the best places we ate in Ayutthaya, the service was very good, location lovely and food pretty good too and much preferred it to the more famous, but not worth it, restaurant next door. The river shrimp were delicious and huge, cooked really well. The only thing we were a little disappointed by was the fish in chili, garlic and lime sauce, as it was not spicy or sour enough by comparison to when we have eaten it before. Price was reasonable, not cheap, but river prawns are never cheap. Overall, well worth it!
Matthew T — Google review
Absolutely fantastic and authentic Thai food. We had the River Prawns which are on the more expensive side but well worth it. Also had a whole fish dish and had a dish with snails. Everything was amazingly fresh and flavorful. Found it on the Culture App which has never steered me wrong.

Sukunya Somtum is a popular local restaurant located near the iconic Wat Mahathat in Ayutthaya. It's an ideal spot for a meal before or after exploring the historical park. The menu features delicious and affordable Thai dishes, with the spicy somtam salad being a standout. The restaurant offers a genuine Thai dining experience with its traditional decor and proximity to stunning temples.
Accidentally found this place while wandering aimlessly in the neighborhood. Glad we found it coz it served such delicious grilled squid and a big ruby fish crisply fried. Price was a bit more than our usual budget but so worth it. We were worried that the grilled squid would take time but it was served within 10 minutes or less. They offer both indoor seating with aircon or outdoor alfresco seating. This is another eatery that offers a wide variety of choices though several are deep fried options.

Pae Krung Kao Restaurant, a beloved establishment in Ayutthaya, has been serving up authentic Thai cuisine since 1966. Located near the picturesque Wat Rattanachai temple and just a stone's throw from the serene Chao Phraya River, this charming eatery offers diners not only delicious meals but also stunning riverside views from its inviting terrace.
Opened for more than 50 years, this traditional Thai restaurant is a living legendary and continue serving their delicious menus. This place is actually one of my favorites place for my family nsine I was a young kid. Must try menus including grilled river prawn, green curry with fish ball stuffers with salted egg, Deep fried soft-fleshed fish, and many many more. Recently, Micheline Guide just have this restaurant in the list, Which make this place even more popular and hard to get the table without early booking for the busy day like weekend. Definitely go back again and again. Love this place.

Good taste, but only one downside is the price of their signature grilled prawn. A bit too pricey considering the size. Recommendable to book in advance if you prefer air-conditioned tables or going earlier to get seats outside.

Not sure why this place only has 4 stars in their reviews. The food is absolutely delicious, every single dish we ordered. The beef oyster sauce was fantastic! The staff is very friendly and the views on the river are beautiful too. It is a very big restaurant suitable for bigger groups as well.

We had a really good meal here. The specialty is Thai seafood. The locations on the river is beautiful. The food was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful but they spoke minimal English. The menus are Thai but translateable with Google.

Superb seafood in Ayutthaya on the river bank. Super fresh , tasty and huge prawns. We also had deep fried battered prawns, corn sticks and green vegetable. All tasted fantastic with a nice sweet dipping sauce. Tom yum goong was good but sadly lacked a little flavour and spice. But the prawns are to die for. The dipping sauce was beautifully balanced with spice, salt from fish sauce and zest from limes. If you get a table close to the outside you can enjoy a great view of the river.

Baan Mai Rim Num AYUTTHAYA is a popular riverside restaurant in Ayutthaya, known for serving traditional seafood dishes family-style. The casual, open-air eatery offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, attracting both locals and tourists. One of the highlights is the grilled jumbo river prawns, which are sold by weight and known for their succulent and sweet meat.
It was a fantastic dining experience! The food was excellent, and the service was both efficient and genuinely warm. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The seafood was particularly impressive and could be adjusted to suit our spice tolerance. The ambiance captured an authentic provincial Thai feel, which added to the charm. We appreciated the option of an air-conditioned area—a welcome break from the heat—while the riverside section offered a breezy and pleasant alternative for those who prefer outdoor dining. Overall, we’d definitely rate this as one of the best restaurants we visited, especially considering the quality relative to the price.

Great river prawns!! Other dishes are fine, nothing special! We have ordered 8 prawns, but got only 3 after finishing all dishes. The rest we packed it home! It was a bit strange!! The price is a bit high compared to nearby restaurants. Parking is not available, only street parking.
Pichet P — Google review
The food looked good in the photos but was awful in real life. Despite being a seafood restaurant, the seafood was far from fresh. The spicy sour soup with squid eggs was disappointing. The squid was mushy and the eggs watery. The steamed mussels were dry and tasteless. The fish cakes were very dark as if they had been sitting out too long. The soft-shell crab with curry powder was greasy and soaked in oil. The only dish that was good was the grilled river prawns. They were fresh and tasty. They cost 1,400 baht per kilogram for five prawns. I am not sure if that is expensive, but the total bill for two people came to almost 3,000 baht. If the seafood had been fresh and flavorful, the price would have felt reasonable. As it was, it felt like a waste of money. I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from hotel staff who said it was a local favorite, but it left me disappointed. The riverside location is nice, but the atmosphere is just average. One side of the restaurant is right next to a ferry pier, and boats leave every five minutes. There was a strong smell of boat fuel.

Dropped by for dinner, quite a few people in, nice atmosphere, very friendly, reasonably priced and good food, have grilled river prawns, like most places priced on weight, very tasty. Overlooks river, ferry just near it taking motor bikes etc across, fascinating to watch. The frontage is set back from the road then you go through some prep/storage bit to get to it.

Riverside Thai restaurant with their famous grilled River prawn. If you plan to come here after 12:00 I’d recommend reservation in advance(River prawns also should be reserved too). They offer variety of Thai foods which were all very delicious with reasonable price. The grilled river prawns have many sizes/prices to choose from. They were heavenly tasty, juicy and perfectly prepared! After you order Grilled river prawns, they will be a menu which the prawns’s claw meat will be used to make such as stirred fried with seasonings, omelet and etc. for a special price. If you have UOB credit card I highly recommend to use them as they likely are main sponsor for this restaurant and have special promotions.

As a chef, I Definitely recommend this place foods was Delicious!! Flavour full and authentic Thai food. Prawns in tamarind sauce well balanced with fresh pineapple and crispy fried Betal leaf. Spicy Pork minced stir fried lots of heat and chilli but you got a side herbs fresh Cumin leaves, cucumber, snake beans, white turmeric and pickles garlic OMG you don’t want to miss this one if you are a chilli eater like me. Tom Klong catfish , fresh herbs clear broth with deep fried catfish. Like no other Thai curry, none coconut base soup but light and fresh herbs plus a kick of chilli makes it incredible dishes. Fast and kind service good atmosphere family friendly you name it. All in all, you won’t be disappointed if you pick this restaurant for your lunch or dinner. Recommended!!!

Local restaurant just by the riverside with reasonable price and fresh ingredients. Must try the grilled fresh river prawns- juicy, sweet and well cooked. Har mok had a bunch of spices inside and was fragrant. Tomyum was kind of diluted, would skip.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were blown away by the quality of the food. Perhaps the best meal we've had while in Thailand. The lobster is more expensive than everything else, but every dish we ordered was truly outstanding. We got the sliced pork, Tom Yam Soup, a coconut filled with seafood, garlic shrimp and lobster. Service was great too. Great views too! Would come back again and again.

Chao Phrom Market is a vibrant traditional market in Ayutthaya, dating back to the time of the city's capital. It offers a wide variety of goods, from local delicacies and fresh produce to unique merchandise not found elsewhere. The market never closes and is always bustling with activity, offering everything from fruits, vegetables, fish, and meats to electrical and household goods. Visitors can indulge in affordable and mouthwatering meals while exploring local Thai flavors at the street stalls.
Very good local market. Can get fresh vegetables, meat, seafood and breakfast/food

Very beautiful. After taking the locomotive train from Bangkok to Ayutthaya, cross over from the train station to take a ferry to Chao Phrom pier. It's only 10 baht. From there, you can charter a bicycle, motorcycle or tuk tuk tour at a very cheap rate from a shop name December House. It's a wonderful shop run by a lady named Nid Noi. Very honest, helpful and welcoming person.

If you would like to avoid food poisoning, avoid this restaurant. Bugs were everywhere, even on our table. In the soup, I had ants. Also, the quality of the meat was terrible. As you can see, it was just a big clump of meat. Even the taste is not worth that money. Just the atmosphere is lovely.

We visited Earl several times during our short stay in Ayutthaya - we even went twice in one day. We enjoyed the red and green curries. So so good 👍🏼 the restaurant is interestingly decorated and there's a lot to look at. Vintage coca cola adverts and bottles as well as other collectable memorabilia. Definitely check this place out 🍛 ☀️

The restaurant was alright, but not exceptional. The service was ok, the place in itself is pretty interesting with an American theme. We found other Westerners in the restaurant but no Thai, which is not really a good sign. The food was good, but a little bit disappointing. I took a Thai omelette and a pork fried rice. They were both ok, but I have eaten better ones in other parts of Thailand. My friends took chicken sweet and sour, and a pad thai. Their dishes were alright but not incredible, like the rest. Overall not a bad restaurant at all, but you might find better.

Hua Ro Market is an old market. There was a movie theater called Chalermsri, which was the best at that time. In many communities around the island city, there are Chao Phraya River, Pa Sak River, Lopburi River and a canal called Khlong Muang, which connect around like an island. Communities around the island city that are big and developed, such as Hua Ro Market, Hua Laem Market, liquor factory, Ban Yuan, Wat Phutthaisawan, Pom Phet, railway station, Hor Rattanachai Market. Going back about 70-100 years ago, it was a community that was like a port city where most people traveled, studied, traded vegetables, fruits, teak, logs, sand boats, water barriers, railways, and rafts up and down districts and provinces from the central region, the northern region, and down to Bangkok. Hua Ro Market is a distribution point for goods that are shops on land and rafts on the water to other districts and neighboring provinces. Most of the entrepreneurs are Chinese. Most of the Thais are civil servants, food vendors, gardeners, fishermen. Muslims are fishermen, weavers for carp, drivers, and barbers. Around the island city, there are mostly Thais, Chinese, and Muslims.

It's a cross between a market and a mall. An oldish arrangement of shops and houses under high domed roofs mainly made of glass panels, and open to two wheeler traffic .It's sensibly cooler here under the vaulted alleys than in the streets. But apparently not much frequented nowadays. Many massage salons (traditional) are hosted here too. Unfortunately no “cafés".

Conveniently located bar. We visited during a live music event, which over some 3 hours had the place packed (and we were the only foreigners). I just wanted to share a great experience I had with one of the restaurant staff during my recent visit. It started raining while we were having dinner, so we had to move inside. Our new table didn’t have much of a view, which was a bit disappointing but one of the staff members went out of her way to help us find a better spot where we could still enjoy the view. Even though it was raining and probably not easy to manage, she did her best to make sure we were happy and she really found us the best seats possible at the time. It was such a thoughtful gesture and definitely beyond what we expected.

We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint hotel. The room allocated to us was well appointed and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Our room was right outside one of the pools on the property. The included breakfast was excellent. The property is small but is beautiful and well maintained. We ate our dinners here as well and enjoyed our meals here. We would stay here again in the future.

Lovely, super photogenic boutique hotel! All the staff we met, receptionists/ restaurant staff/ parking guy were nice and helpful with smile. One negative thing to point out would be the room we were given though. “Deluxe River View Room with Terrace (Room.11)” Located by the restaurant so we had to shut a curtain half way all the time for privacy, hence half the view of Chao Phraya river & wonderful Wat Phutthaisawan we paid for. Terrace was so dirty we couldn’t use so it was a waste of money paying for ‘a room with terrace.’ Were looking forward to chilling out on a day-bed looking out the Wat but a big tree blocked the entire view… So it would’ve been more memorable stay if the room had been on the 2nd or 3rd floor but over all, we were happy and would come back to stay here in the future when visiting Ayutthaya again. Just not the same room. :(
A L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A peaceful riverside retreat blending art, architecture, and serenity. I stayed in the Deluxe River View Room and absolutely loved the view of Wat Phutthaisawan across the river — especially at sunset, when the light turned golden over the water. The minimalist architecture, white walls, and red-brick courtyard create a timeless atmosphere that feels both modern and sacred. The hallway leading to the rooms is simply beautiful, with warm tones and quiet elegance. What I love most about this hotel is how calm and respectful all the guests are — it truly feels like a small oasis in the heart of Ayutthaya. If you’re looking for a short escape from Bangkok, sala ayutthaya is a perfect choice for design lovers and those who appreciate peaceful stays with a sense of history. 📍 Location: Right by the river, close to historic temples 🕰️ Ideal stay: 1–2 nights for relaxation and sightseeing

This must be the nicest hotel in Ayutthaya. The spacious room was perfect with a comfortable bed and plush towels. The atmosphere during the evening hours was exotic. The included breakfast (see photo) was a gourmet meal and the view from the dining area was amazing. Finally, the hotel staff were among the best I’ve experienced. Fifa (the desk receptionist) was particularly personable, having looked up my state of origin from a previous conversation. After this experience, I would not consider staying anywhere else on my next visit. Highly recommend!
Richard N — Google review
We really liked the design of the hotel, the food, and the view from our room. However, the stay was affected by some issues that should be improved. The biggest problem was noise from the room upstairs — we could hear everything, especially children running around late at night (until 10–11 pm) and early in the morning (around 6 am), which made it very difficult to sleep. Although the bed was comfortable, the overall sleep quality was poor because of this. The bathroom design looks nice, but in practice it would be much better with a proper door for more privacy. The balcony also lacked privacy, as it is directly next to the neighbouring unit, which makes sitting outside feel uncomfortable. We hope the hotel can consider these improvements, as the overall concept and comfort are otherwise very good.
Nalinrut M — Google review
The view was stunning just like the pictures. The room were clean, comfortable, and cool. The Aircon delivered, we feel so cooling and comfortable after a long hot day outside Ayutthaya. Breakfast was decent and parking lots are limited even though the security team always ensure the cars are parked properly and will assist and direct you. Must stay once when in Ayutthaya.

Food is okay but I don’t think I would come back. The view is beautiful, which might justify the price for some. The service was fast but without any enthusiasm. Overall, a skip. If you’re a tourist in the city for the day, come if you really want a river view. If you do decide to come, here is what we ordered: prawns (pricey for their sizes), spring rolls, and garlic pork. I would say order rice with the meal as it doesn’t come with it. I can’t judge the desserts as I haven’t tried any.

Best fancy Thai meal. The flavours were sublime and the river prawns are unlike anything I've ever tasted. The crispy pork belly was so originally done. Everything is as fresh and flavourful and prices were great too. Obviously prawns were the more expensive thing on the menu, as fresh seafood tends to be. But well priced at about 800 baht per prawn. Staff all very helpful. Google translate helped. If I'm ever back in the area: will certainly be back here.
Sophia P — Google review
Unfortunately we weren't happy with the food and we weren't happy with the service either. We were there for a late lunch, the waiters and waitresses were just bored and didn't feel like working, that's how they left the impression. Most of them sat at tables with cell phones in hand. They were friendly, yes, but everything seemed fake and like they were just bothering the employees. The food and drinks were brought to the table, after which we were forgotten. No questions were asked about whether everything was OK or whether we would like to order drinks, coffee, or a dessert. Even at the drinks machine, where I looked at the types of beer, I wasn't asked which one I wanted. Well, the food itself wasn't particularly well tempered and tasted, kind of boring and tasteless. I couldn't continue eating the shrimp. The taste was somehow strange. My impression was confirmed. Even today, days later, I still have stomach/intestinal problems and can constantly run to the toilet. The decor in the restaurant is more reminiscent of a canteen than a restaurant, dishes and cutlery made of plastic/melanin and cheap metal cutlery. All of this left a rather bad and negative impression, I'm sorry. After this experience, I would not recommend the restaurant Actually, only a single STAR, but the terrace with the view of the river is really nice. The food, service, and drinks have a maximum of one STAR for this time. The total bill was almost 1000 THB, and the performance was simply too poor for that I'm so sorry, but it was not really good at all...

De Riva Ayothaya is a spacious riverside restaurant located across from an old Portuguese church, offering a relaxing atmosphere with scenic views of the river. The menu features traditional Ayuthaya-style dishes, with river prawn being a highlight. While enjoying the picturesque setting, visitors can savor Thai cuisine and recommended dishes such as fried pork with curry leaves and snake head fish with spicy herbal sauce.
I had lunch there, ordered grilled river prawn, fried snake head fish with herbal salad, etc. foods are good, outdoor table is decent, not hot, but air con indoor room also available. There were not many clients in lunch but seems more popular for dinner as i saw so many alcohol drink options. Good atmosphere of riverside with beautiful christian church at the other side of river shore, with live band at evening (Seeing musical band stage and equipment)

Honestly disappointing, food is just alright (not bad, not good) but the price is exorbitant. I would suggest going else where if you value good food. Aside from that the river view, live music and service is commendable.

We came for dinner on our family trip and were not disappointed one bit. The food was tasty, and draft beer made it a perfect evening. The venue was by the river. Too bad we went there when it was already dark. The view must have been ultra lovely at daytime. And there were live bands playing English songs to remember and Thai country songs.

Good restraunt in old Town overlooking the river. You can shops passing around all times. There is a church on the opposite side as well. The food is decent with good river prawns. We tried jumbo river prawn and it was really good. There is live music with the band playing English songs in soft tones. The service though is sub standard and it do check your bill before you pay.

Cozy restaurant with river view, river prawn is nice and price is ok compare to other restaurants in the area (THB 500 and 700 / prawn). I think the size I took today is a bit small than I expected but don’t mind coz it’s fresh. Dinner time at this restaurant is very good scenery with cool air flow. The owner is very nice and supportive. Booking is needed if you want the river side desk.

Amazing food and good service. We ordered Panang curry chicken, mushrooms, fried cabbage, green curry, fish cakes and prawn cakes, and the Pad Thai wrapped in egg omelette. So tasty that I forgot to take photos! So I posted the photos of the deco instead. They also made cakes, some of which are quite gruesome!

5 stars for the ambience. We love sitting by the river and watching the boats go by. The riverside seating area is also shaded with a big olive tree. Booking is highly recommended for this seat. We ordered their recommended dishes e.g. fried pork with curry leaves and snake head fish with spicy herbal sauce and they tasted great. The day we went, the food was served quite slowly we had to wait 45 mins for some of the dishes. We hope this was one off.

It consists of thin round roti wrapped around colorful candy floss, believed to have been adapted from a Muslim-Indian sweet recipe. The snack is typically sold by Thai Muslim vendors in Ayutthaya, where there is a large Muslim community. Over the years, the dish has evolved with influences from Portuguese introduction of eggs.
It’s a popular store for this kind of local dessert. We thought we should reserve on INS or Facebook one day before but we are lucky to buy by walk-in. I thought it to taste like dragon beard candy because they look similar, but it's not like that at all. The coconut soup is crispy and not sticky or greasy, and the sesame biscuits have the aroma of sesame. The combination of the two flavors is addictive. I didn’t eat anything like this previously. If it has a long expire date I will definitely bring to my friends and family members for sharing👍

The roti that you can't miss in the city! It's so authentic and delicious. Michelin certified and halal friendly. The base of roti is like thin and soft kulit lumpia, the sweet itself comes from sugar hair shaped which is very good combined with roti. I bought 2 pcs to be taken away to Bangkok and the taste is still good 👌

Good food. Fragrant wrapping. Not too sweet. generous amount of cotton candy. Must also try the pandan wrapping. Could be better if there are more tables to enjoy the food on the spot. but overall, a very nice experience for food tasting

It is the famous desert in Ayuthaya. If you visit this city you must try it. You can find many shops that sell it and many stalls beside the road but this shop is one of the most famous and you can find it near the hospital... 2 packs of 10 crepes each and sugar floss cost 100 baht.

Kung Phuean Praew is a popular seafood restaurant known for its variety of fresh and affordable seafood options. The grilled shrimp is a standout dish, perfectly cooked to juicy perfection with a clear taste and al dente texture. The restaurant also offers fresh fish and clam dishes, while the nearby fish market allows customers to purchase seafood for takeaway or home cooking.
Must visit this excellent sea food restaurant perfect for prawn 🦐 lovers. The grilled prawns are the best - there’s no doubt about it. 🌟 - River prawns 🦐 👍 - steamed sea bass fish 🐟 👍 - crab fried rice 🦀 👍 Other side dish items were good too. It was a pleasant experience here and I would recommend it.

This one is the famous Thai restaurant of Ayutthaya. I saw so many a lot of government officer come here. The ingredient is super fresh there is seafood live stock ready to cook. The food is tastes really good and decent price. The staff fast and good service. But parking is hard to find.
SJ2 — Google review
Pretty good seafood restaurant. The seafood is either swimming or jumping prior to you ordering, so freshness is guaranteed. Crab fried rice and grilled prawns (Gung pao) are winners. Prices are alright if you're with a group.

If shrimp were a religion, this place would be the temple. Tucked along the road of Ayutthaya, this lunch gem delivers shrimp so fresh they probably filled out a time sheet this morning. Swap riverside with marketside. The grilled river prawns? Massive. Like, “should I tip this prawn?” massive. Heads full of rich, golden fat that made us question everything we thought we knew about flavor—and cholesterol. We went in thinking we’d order light. We left Googling if it’s socially acceptable to drink prawn oil straight. Sides were no afterthought either—spicy dips that slap, rice that actually compliments the meal instead of just showing up, and a riverside view that’s one strong gust away from a full food meditation session. Bonus: zero tourist-trap energy. Just good food, good people, and shrimp that might haunt our dreams (in the best way). Come hungry, leave full—and maybe with a few shrimp shells in your pocket for emotional support.

A Must-Try Grilled Shrimp Spot in Ayutthaya! 🦐🔥 If you're visiting Ayutthaya, you can’t leave without trying some grilled river prawns—and this place is one of the best! The province is known for its shrimp, and while there are many restaurants to choose from, this one stands out with its great flavor and reasonable prices. The restaurant is surrounded by other grilled shrimp spots, but what makes this one special is how perfectly they grill the prawns. The texture is still juicy and bouncy, and you can really taste the natural sweetness. I ordered 1 kg of grilled shrimp (they were huge!), asked them to use some to make Tom Yum Goong (spicy prawn soup), and added a separate dish of fried shrimp. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. This place is really popular with locals, so I recommend coming early—around 11:00–11:30 AM. I arrived at 11:10, and by the time I finished placing my order, the restaurant was nearly full. They have 3 seating zones, and two of them were packed already! If you're a seafood lover, don’t miss this gem in Ayutthaya!

A local friend bring us here, the seafood are fresh and meaty, enjoy the food here very much. Good portion and price are reasonable.
Feian O — Google review
My go-to spot every time I’m in Ayutthaya. The food’s really good and totally worth the price. The grilled shrimp is a must—super fresh, comes in big portions, and not pricey at all. They usually have three sizes to choose from. I also really like their fried rice, tom yum, and the seafood sauce is amazing. It’s in the market area but there’s parking, which is super convenient. Definitely a place I keep coming back to.

A Seafood Haven for River Prawn Lovers Located conveniently by the northern main highway, Kung Phuean Praew is a popular stop for seafood enthusiasts, especially tourists. Known for its signature grilled river prawns, the highlight here is the combination of juicy prawns and their flavorful seafood sauce. Be warned, though—the sauce has quite a spicy kick, so an extra bottle of water might come in handy for those less spice-inclined. The menu also features a variety of seafood options, including fishes, squids and crabs, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The restaurant boasts both indoor and outdoor seating, offering a relaxed ambiance to enjoy your meal. Prices are surprisingly affordable, leaning on the cheaper side without compromising quality. Service is attentive, and the food is prepared quickly, even during busy hours. With plenty of parking available, Kung Phuean Praew makes for a perfect pit stop for anyone craving authentic Thai seafood, especially their famed river prawns.

A Lovely Table is a charming café located near the historic Ayutthaya Park, offering a warm and relaxing atmosphere with vintage-style decor. The interior exudes an old-town café vibe with Thai brick accents, wooden furniture, and vintage decorations. The menu features a delightful selection of exotic ice cream flavors like rose and sunflower, alongside delectable pancakes, fresh juices, smoothies, and coffee.
Ice cream and pastry. Some breakfast. The Dutch pancake was amazing and the ice cream was smooth and delicious. Seems to be family ran and everything is homemade. Definitely worth a stop.

A great place to stop for some delicious ice cream on a hot afternoon. We tried a couple of different ice cream dishes and they were both very tasty. I liked the eclectic decor, and we were able to park on the street just outside the restaurant.

Their breakfast with homemade canola and fresh fruit tastes like a piece of heaven. Their lemonade is the best I've tadted in Thailand by far.
Anique R — Google review
Not recommended. Firstly staff was kinda fixed seat for us when I asked if we can sit on the other side she said it’s full (though only 1-2 tables occupied and no other customers in the cafe). When we looked at the cake inside the cake fridge, the staff at the cashier was unwelcome and said that the menu is in the book (while no cake menu inside the menu book). When we sit at the specified table, the seat was very very dirty (you can see from last picture) and we needed to ask them to replace the chair (I read some comment that they never clean table from one customer to another which is probably true). For the food, it’s quite disappointed, the ice cream was very sweet though the texture of Thai desserts was quite nice but doesn’t taste good, plus the coconut milk that usually come with Thai desserts usually is a bit salty to go with the sweetness, but here the coconut milk was tasteless. Desserts were a bit pricey. Overall quite a bad experience here both food and service and would not recommend to anyone.

"Inthanin, Young Coconut with Coconut Milk ice cream" A Sweet Fusion: Modern Thai Desserts Done Right! If you're looking for a dessert experience that perfectly blends traditional Thai flavors with modern ice cream creations, look no further than A lovely table. This charming spot has truly mastered the art of elevating classic Thai sweets into delightful frozen treats. What immediately stands out is their innovative approach. They've taken the rich, complex flavors of Thai desserts and transformed them into wonderfully refreshing ice cream and other sweet concoctions. It's a fantastic way to experience familiar tastes in an exciting new format. I highly recommend their Inthanin Young Coconut with Coconut Milk ice cream. This flavor is an absolute standout! It perfectly captures the essence of inthanin, a beloved Thai dessert, with its delicate pandan aroma and the subtle chewiness often found in the original. The young coconut adds a refreshing sweetness and texture, while the rich, creamy coconut milk base ties it all together beautifully. It's incredibly fragrant, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet – a true testament to their craftsmanship. Beyond the unique flavors, the shop offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to relax and indulge. Whether you're a fan of Thai desserts or just looking for a unique ice cream experience, A lovely table is a must-visit. You won't be disappointed!

While the prices are on the higher side, they are reasonable for the fresh river prawns served at around 500 baht each.

Pa Lek Boat Noodle is a renowned family-owned shop in Ayutthaya, offering delicious and flavorful Thai-style boat noodles with options of beef or pork. The small bowls of noodles come with a variety of soup or dry options, featuring pig blood, pork slices, braised pork, sliced pig liver, and a hint of vegetables. Despite the small portion size, customers often order multiple bowls.
Lady boss can speak fluent English, which is helpful. The noodles tasted sweet compare to other stores. The dry egg noodle is a must try. Recommended to visit if you are in Ayutthaya!
D — Google review
Our third food stop of the day brought us to Pa Lek Boat Noodle, and stepping in felt like diving straight into a truly local Bangkok experience. The place had that comforting, slightly chaotic buzz—locals chatting over steaming bowls, tourists snapping photos, and the unmistakable aroma of rich broth and spices filling the air. The boat noodles here are the real deal—deep, savory flavors that taste like they’ve been perfected over generations. They keep it simple: pork or beef, that’s it. No overcomplication, just pure, authentic taste. The portions are small (as boat noodles traditionally are), which makes it perfect to try a few bowls and mix things up. Honestly, it’s part of the fun—slurping one bowl, ordering another, and before you know it, you’ve lost count of how many you’ve had. Service? Lightning fast. Bowls arrive within minutes, and despite the crowd, everything runs like clockwork. It’s no wonder the place is so popular—it proudly wears the Michelin Bib Gourmand badge, and every spoonful proves why. Pa Lek Boat Noodle isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. The kind that leaves you full but still wanting “just one more bowl.”

Very easy system, a manageable menu of different boat noodle options, with English descriptions, 20 baht a bowl. Couldn't be easier, relaxed friendly staff. Great for experimenting with the different types of boat noodles. Not as challenging as some dishes can be, so definitely more foriegner friendly. Found the taste here just right and ready to eat. The dry noodles were great, definitely recommend. Don't miss all the desert stalls outside, everything we got there was excellent. Great experience for lunch while in Ayutthaya.

Can't beat boat noodles at 20 baht a bowl. Also the location makes it super convenient, it's a perfect pitstop after exploring the ruins (just across the road from the Wat Mahathat complex). For me personally the must-order is dry pork noodles!

Nestled in the heart of Ayutthaya province, this Thai restaurant offers delightful flavors at every turn. The dishes are not only delicious but also reasonably priced, making it a fantastic value for money. The interior is beautifully decorated, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The service is impeccable, and ample parking space is available. Among the recommended dishes are the succulent shrimp curry, a must-try that shouldn't be missed. Other standout options include the garden-fresh grilled tilapia, the green curry, and the savory salt and pepper golden needle mushrooms. However, there is room for improvement, as a few ants were spotted floating in the green curry. Overall, this restaurant offers a satisfying culinary experience that captures the essence of Thai cuisine.
Pond — Google review
Really good food that can be enjoyed outside so as to enjoy the garden and river or inside the cozy building. There are a few things that I think could be improved that would further elevate this already good restaurant. 1. Update the physical menus. It's the quality of a restaurant in a soi. 2. This is a great restaurant that respectable people come to eat but the beverage selection doesn't reflect that. So many fake sugar soda drinks and you can't even get sparkling or quality mineral water. 3. Service. Staff are nice, but are slow, fail to check on customers to refill drinks, remove plates, check if they want dessert, or just check if they need something. I don't think they are doing a mediocre job on purpose, it feels more like they just don't know. I'm sure if they were trained, they would do a good job. Now, I'm only harping on these things because when they are able to fix those issues, this place is going to be packed. It's very enjoyable to eat here and everything we ordered was delicious. And if you don't mind a slower than normal service for this caliber of restaurant, 100% you should eat here.

A place we have had on our to-check-out list for a while, we went about a week ago. Located quite centrally in the city island, the space is quite open and breezy. There are a few good stations operating under the same roof, beef noodle, pork noodle, satay, grilling stations for bananas and meatballs and beverages We sampled the noodles, some side dishes including satay I would say that the noodles were competent, but nothing that I would go out of my way to visit, a solid 3-star rating The satay, on the other hand, was excellent. The pork is quite lean, but it is still quite moist and soft. We had to repeat our order before we left. It is the satay that would bring us back

This restaurant serves amazing Vietnam dishes especially Namnueng. Its tastes make you wonder why you don't come to this place sooner. I think the pineapple is the one ingredients that make its difference. Other dishes are also good. Service is quite nice. Food comes out fast even though we arrive at noon and all tables are full with customers. Recommend to reserve the table before you go especially on the holiday. The price is also reasonable call the portion of food. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, this place is a must-visit! The flavors are rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. From the fragrant pho to the crispy banh xeo, every dish tastes just like it came from the streets of Vietnam.

Silp-pa Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya is a charming hotel with simple rooms and a warm ambiance. The interior is adorned with beautiful Ayutthaya art, creating a cozy and artistic atmosphere. The hotel offers various room types to choose from, including options with balconies. It's conveniently located near the night market and the city's main tourist attractions. Guests can enjoy dining at the casual restaurant or relax on the terrace or in the garden surrounded by local artwork.
This beautiful art-focused hotel exceeded my expectations for a solo traveler. The rooms are spacious and immaculately clean, with comfortable beds and well-maintained bathrooms. What sets this place apart is its stunning art gallery and beautiful aesthetic touches throughout the property. The breakfast offering includes authentic Thai tea and local bread - a perfect start to the day. The location is ideal, within walking distance to temples and the night market. Great value for money, especially for solo travelers. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice and charming 4-storey boutique hotel full of sculptures arts hands-free wall painting in the room. Good location. Parking available. Warm welcome by the cats. But if you have any problem or come with old parents, the property does not have an elevator but you can ask to have the room on the ground floor. Lovely reasonable price breakfast in the morning at your service

Pros: Ice cold AC, beautiful bathroom with a nice shower. Quiet building, very artsy style throughout. Friendly staff, minibar with reasonable prices. Cons: Will likely need to taxi to places of interest, dinner, etc. Area was not super pedestrian friendly, though it is technically possible to walk. Good value for the price, can’t overestimate the value of a good AC in Thailand. Had to use taxi apps to navigate around, nothing of interest was close by.

This is a very comfortable, and very reasonably priced hotel with warm, friendly and helpful staff and really amazing art throughout. I can imagine staying anywhere else in Ayutthaya. (Oh, and cats!)

Right now I am actually lying in the clean, spotless bed at this hotel. A great place that I will definitely come back to. The hotel is full of seriously nice art, the place is clean and well appointed, and one more important thing -- you just walk 10 minutes to the historical park. There's a 7-11 about 4 minutes walk away and a fancy coffee/brunch place across the street. Surprised this place isn't a bit more expensive. We wanted an additional bed put into the room, but it was not possible in Agoda... but I called on the phone and the owner said I should just reserve for the normal 2 person room and then when I check in I simply pay another 300 baht for the extra bed. Sheets and comforters and bathroom all completely clean. Great place.

"You wouldn't believe this is a hotel." Nestled among the shady trees, a rustic loft building sits right beside Wat Ho Ra kang. This budget-friendly hotel is a true hidden gem, perfectly situated near the city's main attractions. Your stay will be exceptionally comfortable, with spacious rooms featuring a plush mattress and pillows. The lobby offers a unique experience, with a charming art corner that showcases a collection of antiques, oil paintings, and artifacts. Best of all, you'll be warmly greeted by two moody, chunky cats who have made the lobby their territory. With delicious street food just around the corner and convenient on-site parking, this is a highly recommended spot for a memorable and comfortable stay. #silppa #silppaphanakornsriayutthaya #สิปปะพระนคร #hotel #art #antique #artifacts #เที่ยวอยุธยา #reels #igdaily #97km97km #its6pmsomewhere #กื๋อบางกรวย

Very unique place with great arts but the hotel part is very old and the outlet is broken hang on the wall, the room is stinky smell like unwashed towel and has a lot of mosquito. Towel we received got a big hole in it and lots of stains. We couldn’t sleep from mosquito bites and the wall has mold forming. Not suitable place for elder because there’s no elevator and staff didn’t offer to help to carry the bag upstairs.
Sira L — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay, and for the price we paid, there's nothing to really fault other than the mattress being a bit more firm than we are used to, but it was a huge king size bed. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The location was great in that it was walking distance to the historic park and night market but far away enough to not be in the super busy part of Ayutthaya. The complimentary breakfast was great, and the staff were very helpful. We also loved that the hotel had artwork scattered all around and felt like being in a gallery. Also, they have later check-out at noon, which was very handy for us.

Market
The Ayutthaya Night Market is a must-visit for travelers seeking an authentic cultural experience. This market showcases a wide array of handcrafted items such as silk products, leather goods, and decorative pieces made by local artisans. Visitors have the opportunity to interact with these craftsmen and women, gaining insight into traditional techniques and cultural significance. The market's retro-style decor creates a comfortable and chill atmosphere, perfect for taking pictures or checking in.
I liked that market. It have a calm atmosphere. A lot of food stalls and a lot of sitting places... At the background the historical monument lightning with many lamps... I ate Kai yang with somtam that was fresh and juicy and some local deserts.
Reuven K — Google review
Great market. Mostly food and mostly meat but very popular with locals. As a vegetarian I was so happy for this lady's stall (picture) selling two delicious vegetarian dishes (tofu and 'fried garlic chives cake'). I visited her stall every night I was here!
Ann N — Google review
Most pictures on Google Maps seem to be of a different market. This is a small charming night market on a dirt patch right next to Wat Ratcha Burana. Less about shopping. The focus is on food, which is my kind of market! I had a really tasty duck noodle soup, pork rice salad and some mango sticky rice for dessert. All with a great view of the beautifully illuminated temple. If you're in Ayutthaya on the weekend, definitely recommend.

Wide range of food options: from standard Thai night market fares to something more local like their fresh river prawns. Everything from street snacks to sit down dinner dishes - it offers great local options

Probably the best night market in Thailand I’ve been to as a foodie. They literally have everything when it comes to authentic Thai food. It is all complemented by an amazing scenery. Better than any night market in Bangkok and Chaing Mai for sure.

Daily open from 4 to 10 pm. Save a lot of room to get a pack of munchies and juicy food plus drinks. Spend little, get a lot. Take some fresh fruits and Thai local snacks home. Cloths and gifts are available right here. Easy access, just park your car, motorcycle or bikes around the corner or on the side of the road. What are you waiting for? Now, come on!!

Noodle shop
The noodle shop Klong Srabua Boat Noodle is famous for its delicious boat noodles, which are made with shrimp and egg. The noodles are tasty and inexpensive, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. The satay here is also good, but not outstanding. Overall, the restaurant is pleasant and reasonably priced.
During our day trip to Ayutthaya we toured the main temples together with Tony in his pink tuktuk. For lunch he drove us here to this place on the road that surprised us. Here we can safely say that we ate the best Pad Thai of our entire trip to Thailand. For a plate of pad thai we paid only 60 thb. The place is very spartan, a typical street food restaurant, frequented by locals and when we went there were also many students. If you are passing through the area, I recommend stopping and trying it out.

Khlong Srabua Boat Noodle Shop is a hidden gem for noodle lovers. Nestled along the serene canal, it offers authentic boat noodles bursting with rich flavors and perfectly tender meat. The portions are generous, the ingredients are fresh, and the prices are wonderfully reasonable. The laid-back atmosphere, coupled with scenic water views, creates a delightful dining experience. With ample parking and friendly service, it’s an ideal spot for a casual yet memorable meal. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this noodle shop promises a taste of traditional Thai cuisine at its best.

I had an amazing beef rice noodle bowl here at a very affordable price. I feel lucky to be traveling with a Thai friend who helped me navigate the menu — otherwise, I would’ve had to rely on Google Translate to figure out dishes I’m not familiar with. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere felt very local, authentic.

Boat noodle too salty, pad thai so so, not tasty. Satay pork too overpower with seasoning, and have curry smell. I dont know why we dont like all the food here. Atmosphere is normal, like old noodle shop, no aircon or fan. Have q but they let people behind us to order first.. overall not satisfied

All noodles incluidng Pad Thai are very delicious. Price is so cheap but there are more than enough ingredients and shrimps for Pad Thai are very big 😱 there is no air conditioner and some people might feel the place is not clean, but if you are ok person, highly recommended😊

Good food, I like the soup and pad thai. Also reasonable price. I’m happy with the food. 1. Pad Thai 8.5/10 yummy! Add chili and will be better if you like spicy food 2. Beef Soup 9/10 very flavorful! I like it! 3. Pork soup 8.5/10 actually same flavour with the beef one but I like the beef meat better rather than the pork
Mareeka Y — Google review
Local Thai boat noodle shop. The noodle was delicious. The soup was tasty with a little bit spicy. There are both beef noodle and pork noodle. I prefer beef noodle than pork one. The beef was tender and good. There’s also Pad Tai but I didn’t try. Very crowdy at noon. Need to wait for queue around 20 minutes. There was no parking availble. Need to park roadside.

The Ayutthaya Retreat hotel and restaurant is a beautiful and elegant Thai style accommodation that offers a relaxing atmosphere perfect for those who want to escape the city chaos. The food was delicious and excellently recommended, and the place was beautiful.
Booked three rooms for my parents and relatives and were welcomed with exceptional hospitality from the moment we arrived. The warm reception and thoughtful service made us feel right at home. We were also delighted by the playful cats roaming the property, adding an extra touch of charm to our stay. Ayutthaya Retreat – Where Simplicity Becomes Sanctuary If your heart longs for peace, this is where it can rest. Ayutthaya Retreat welcomes you with the charm of traditional Thai living – timeless wooden houses, lotus-filled ponds, and the gentle rustle of trees. Here, time slows down. You’ll sip tea on a wooden deck, listen to birdsong, and feel the soft wind like a lullaby from the past. This is more than a stay. It’s a space to breathe, to heal, and to reconnect with the beauty of simplicity. Come not just to visit – but to return to yourself.

This is a hotel and restaurant. There is enough parking space. From the entrance, the interior of a traditional Thai wooden house is impressive. There is a pond in the middle of the restaurant, making a comfortable atmosphere. There are tables both indoors and outdoors. Since we were visiting after a meal, we simply ordered a drink and a mango dessert and pizzas. The pizza is not fancy, but it is baked in a wood-fired oven. The serving time was a bit long (50 minutes). but the mango dessert and drinks were good. Recommended for those who want to eat a variety of dishes, both Thai and Western food, in a traditional Thai house.

It’s a real “retreat” if you compare with hotels n guesthouses in the central area which is 10 mins away by car. May take some time to have a “grab” driver to response as they can be picky. nice deco, almost like a 4 stars resort ; room facilities not as a 4 star hotel e.g no air conditioning in the bathroom. But can have all you need , with clean n nice quality white towels, for example. Clean room and we had a good sleep. Food from restaurant is satisfactory at reasonable prices; there is a pizza chef and pizza oven n authentic pizza doughs are available. Excellent staff services Recommended if you do not mind you need transport going out (which is not difficult nor very costly actually) n be reminded this is a not a modern hotel. Will stay again if traveling there.

Thao Ka Lao Restaurant offers a charming and inviting escape with lovely decor, making it a cool respite from the heat. The grilled river shrimp is fantastic, and the "SALID fish with young tamarind leaf soup" is a delightful taste of tradition. This place is known for its authentic Thai snacks that are equally delicious. Locals frequent this spot for its nice views, especially facing the temple at night.
We ordered a river prawn which is the signature dish of Ayutthaya (890 baht per kilo, so our prawn came out to be 740 baht), tom yum, and egg with crab. All was tasty, the staff is friendly, the view is fantastic as we sat right next to the river. For drinks, we got 3 coconuts which were delicious as well. The bill came out to be 2050 baht for 3 people. The weather was a bit hot to sit outside, and the bathroom was not very clean. But overall, it was still a good experience.

Totally worth every baht. The food is absolutely delicious—I highly recommend the sea bass in lime, it’s packed with flavours and incredibly soft texture melts in your mouth. The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, making you feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, perfect for a relaxed meal.

Restaurant at the riversude, across the Chedi Sri Suriyothai. The setting is beautiful, because you can eat on a terras with a view on the river and the temples on the other side. Specially in the evening when lights are on it is a wonderful sight. Our food was good, just a few remarks. The sea bass curry was delicious, but the fish itself could be cleaned a bit better, it still had an uterus. We had some eggshell in the squid, its nothing big, but it should not be in it. Still i think it's a good place to have a nice food experience

RIP-OFF WARNING for Foreigners! First, a waitress hands you a green coloured menu that the prices are reasonable(a bit high but acceptable, it’s Ayutthaya price right?). But when you pay, the whole prices jump up!! Water/ ฿25→฿55. Fish Cake/ ฿250→฿300. Fried rice(Large) ฿300→฿350. Overall, ฿160 more than it should’ve been for us. When we confronted a waitress why everything got suddenly expensive, she just brought a white coloured menu for “Foreigners” which has stickers of handwritten high prices and smiled somewhat awkwardly. Where do I report this kind of a bad business?? I mean, it would’ve been okay if we had had the white menu from the start, but it wasn’t the case. On the bright side, food was tasty. Update: Thailand Tourist Police (Phone#1155), English speaking assistance 24/7. If you’re massively over-charged, they might be helpful.

"The Summer Coffee - Old Town" is a trendy and modern coffee shop located in Ayutthaya. The cafe is housed in two old Akanpanit buildings that have been transformed into a cool and relaxing space with a good layout. While some locals may find the menu prices to be on the higher side, visitors to Ayutthaya will appreciate the ambiance and delicious offerings. The cafe's signature drinks are popular among coffee aficionados, and they also offer great beans for purchase.
A well-known café that many other coffee shops source their beans from—and now I see why☕️. Their specialty brews are absolutely worth a try! ✨ Cakes and pastries are good too, though the real star is the coffee. It gets very crowded on weekends and holidays, so plan ahead. Free tastings of their cold brews so you can pick your favorite before taking a bottle home. 👍🏻
Asamapohn T — Google review
I had a great experience at this café. I ordered a Dirty Coffee, which was rich and smooth, and a Matcha Milk with no added sugar, which also tasted really good. Both drinks were well-prepared and flavorful. The price is 120 baht per cup, which is quite high. As for the atmosphere, it depends on the time you visit. When the café is busy, it can get quite noisy. They offer both indoor seating with air conditioning and outdoor seating for those who prefer fresh air. Overall, it’s a nice place for coffee and matcha lovers, but if you prefer a quiet setting, visiting during off-peak hours might be a better choice.

This is such a great place. If our second time here and we keep trying new things. The sausage roll was a fantastic blend of lemongrass, spice, and Thai flavors. We also ordered the aytthaya coffee which is a creative take on a latte. The O cloud is oh so delicious. Yeah. I made that joke. It’s a bit icy, but the foam on top makes it smooth to the touch as it slides down the pallet and you let the aromas take you away.

This cafe is beautifully designed, with bright sunlight filtering through the windows. It’s cozy and inviting, with upbeat music playing in the background. One of the coffee here is unique, topped with candy floss (sai mai), a popular treat in Attuhatha. The coffee isn’t too sweet and has a robust flavor. The pastry almond croissant, is also quite good. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee with a pleasant ambiance. The air conditioning and music are blasting, creating a lively atmosphere.

A neat little café and bakery in Ayutthaya. It is a little bit hidden from the outside, but if you find their sign you should find the entrance, too ;) They have some nice baked goods like croissants and bagels and stuff. If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience in Ayutthaya, look no further than Civilize Ayutthaya. This modern Thai restaurant truly embodies its name by serving up authentic Thai cuisine, with river prawns grilled to perfection over charcoal being one of their standout dishes. The spacious venue offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, including a charming patio terrace that overlooks the serene Chao Phraya River—ideal for enjoying a laid-back meal.
Good food with excellence scenic view and the service-minded staff. You can have dinner by the beautiful river with the good food and reasonable price.
Pornpawee B — Google review
Civilize Ayutthaya, a restaurant that positions itself as a refined destination for traditional Thai cuisine, delivers on its culinary promise but stumbles in the realm of ambience—a flaw that, unfortunately, overshadows an otherwise enjoyable meal. Our selection included grilled river prawns, spicy corn salad with salted egg, and pork shoulder with spicy sauce. The grilled prawns, while boasting a pleasant smokiness, raised concerns regarding their freshness; the texture lacked the desirable bounciness expected from premium river prawns. The other dishes, however, upheld the standards of a well-executed Thai meal, meeting expectations without exceeding them. Yet, what truly marred the experience was the inexplicably disruptive atmosphere. On the day of our visit, a large group had taken it upon themselves to turn the dining space into their personal karaoke lounge—an intrusion that was neither subtle nor remotely bearable. Had the singing been even moderately pleasant, one might have endured it. But alas, the performers seemed to have a particular talent for missing every note, their off-key renditions clashing brutally with the restaurant’s supposed “high-class” image. For the price point and positioning of the establishment, such an allowance for blaring, amateur karaoke was baffling and wholly inappropriate. Service-wise, the staff displayed commendable enthusiasm, but no level of attentiveness could compensate for the auditory assault we endured. Ultimately, Civilize Ayutthaya delivers a solid meal but fails spectacularly in preserving the refined dining experience it claims to offer. A restaurant of this calibre should prioritise ambience as much as its cuisine—after all, what is fine dining without a setting to match?

Lovely large restaurant with large seating areas both inside and out which overlooks the river. Food was just ok. I had the beef satay. Beef was on the tough side and a little chewy. Some pieces were far too fatty. Satay sauce was very good. Wife's dishes were ok to good. Cost for 3 dishes and a drink each was 1,560 baht which I felt was on the pricey side.

Khaotom Chedi, also known as Khaotom Pak Ma, is a unique dining spot where there's no menu; you have to ask the owner for what's available. The fried crab meat with garlic and chili and the Tom Yum with red tail catfish are recommended dishes. Despite the long wait times and reasonable prices, the food is delicious and suitable for all ages.
Warning: This might be a biased post, but I love the taste so much that we went there twice, even though we were staying 30 minutes away from the restaurant. (Hence the 5 stars overall!) I heard great things about this place, so we came to try it out. And Omg! It’s so good! I’ll definitely be back next time we visit Ayutthaya. There’s no set menu—just tell them what you’re craving, and they’ll either make it or suggest something amazing.

Pros: - The food taste great. - Easy to find - Beer is cold Cons: - No menu available (that mean you have to know exactly what you want to eat) - Quite pricey for street food. - Extremely slow and rude service. - Price is not known before hand. - No omelette. - Satay is absolutely horrible.

It's just insane... I waited more than an hour for a bowl of soup. There is no menu, it's too noisy inside, and the soup serving is roughly 2 liters(see photos, hand for scale). And it costs equivalently. DO NOT COME HERE.

The establishment offers an array of delectable dishes, including the must-try freshly caught river croaker in spicy tom yum soup. This old-school institution has garnered recognition, receiving the Michelin bib gourmand award. Visitors praise the great food at amazing prices and commend the attentive service provided.
One of the best crispy pork ever. The crunchiness of the head bits with the good proportion of the meat bits, together, are perfect. Pork knuckle is also cooked to the perfection. It’s tenderness with savory taste make you crave for steamed rice. Seafood also well prepared and cooked.

Sensational restaurant selling Thai Chinese style food. Open kitchen and a very talented and renowned chef who i suspect may be the owner . Generous potions so you can share. Prices are reasonable given the quality. Snapper Penang curry was amazing as was crispy por kaprow I have eaten all over Thailand and this is one of the best places i have eaten. The multiple Michelin awards from 2022 to 2025 are testament to that. A must visit in the ancient city of Ayutthaya

i thought it was regular shrimp, but turned out to be tiger prawns(fresh ones). Its chewy texture supported by stir-fry basil & red green chili gives explosive flavors. the open kitchen concept expresses confidence of chef's remarkable cuisinart. well-thought menu items but just need to improve the quality of photos so customer does not mistakenly order 2 dish with rice.

Still the top choice for the Thai cuisine in Ayudhya from the top chef. Ordinary food is exceptionally tastier than we expected and ingredients are well selected. We can’t easily find it from any other Thai restaurant in the same area.

Baan Ton Sai is a top culinary gem in Ayutthaya, known for its exceptional ingredient quality, unbeatable flavors, and perfect cleanliness. It’s very tourist-friendly, allowing customizable spice levels and special requests. Do note that during busy times, the wait can be about an hour to an hour and a half, but the experience is well worth it. Featured in the Michelin Guide, Baan Ton Sai truly deserves at least one Michelin star.

This place was great. I came in with about 10 people and they were very quick and serving the food. It was also one of our friends’s birthday and they provided candles for celebration. We had the most special stay and can recommend the hotel 100%. The location is perfect to explore the main sights, the staff was very friendly, the view on the river is unique, the pool is beautiful. We loved the interior, the view on the river, and did a private boat tour. If you are looking for a peaceful and special stay - this should be your choice!

What a real wonderful hotel. The rooms are so beautiful, big and comfortable, you can feel the effort of the staff to make it nice and beautiful Inside and outside for every guest. Outside in the garden, you can sit on the riverside and enjoy the romantic view to the illuminated temple at night. Inside the room is everything you need, from minibar, coffee, tea water to cosmetics (only no teeth brushs are provided). Unfortunately we got only one night to stay. Would be so nice to stay there longer to relax and enjoy. So cool, that bicycles are provided, so you easily can take them for a little "go around". All in all: This place is highly recommended by me and I am sure, that I will come back for a longer visit.

A great pool, nice breakfast ( order from menu) and very friendly staff. Staff recommended fios for the best way to see and experience local sights. Thoroughly recommended

I think the room is quite pricey for Ayuthaya 3200++baht that I booked online. The place is a bit old but it is maintained well. Parking is very limited. The swimming pool view is amazing overlooking the ancient architecture of Ayuthaya. The room is spacious and the bathroom is huge. Tv is very small tho can’t watch a lot of stuff no netflix and youtube as it’s not smart TV. I find it quite weird that the minibar and fridge is in the bathroom. Overall, I think it’s ok considering good location and nice view and facilities. But maybe a bit overpriced for the area.

Not a good experience like we thought, we've been waiting 3 menus for an hour. They're having 2 groups 3 tables at the same time. Need to imprpve time management. By the time we asked the staff to check bill after getting first order, they suddenly came to inform that another 2 are in place and ready to serve in 5 mins! Recommend ppl who came here to check if it's packed with many ppl & tables or not. Otherwise, you will end up waiting more than an hour. The only few good things are foods are tasty & nice view indeed. The staff are friendly with service minded. They offered 5% discount + giving 2 cactus for free.

(Translated by Google) Four kilograms of grilled river prawns sell for 1,600. The good thing is that they are fresh, crisp, and easy to peel, but the three that were served may have been baked for too long until the shrimp were a little dry. The sauce is not delicious. The fried fish cakes were not tasty, the pieces were really big but dry and hard, like they had been fried for a long time and then reheated. Stir-fried squid with curry powder. Fresh squid stir-fried and smells good. But it's like adding too much water. So it's not as concentrated as it should be. Mixed seafood salad with shrimp and squid, fresh and big, but the cooking wasn't tasty at all, bland and boring, even though I'm normally not a very spicy eater. Kaeng Som Pae Sa, a very large snakehead fish, 250 baht, not expensive at all. The fish meat is fresh, the skin is crispy, but the serving is slow. One small complaint, the atmosphere is like home. Not very neat Employees are like amateurs. But compared to the price, it's acceptable. it was very very long....I think the cooker was late. The waitress was more often seated than standing. The burger had very little meat and the french fries arrived well after. the boss remains seated and watches the few customers while the other terraces are full. Bad experience.

Restaurant
Samavi Sai Mai Roti is a popular street food in Thailand that consists of a thin, crispy pancake filled with sweet and savory fillings. The pancake is made by spreading a thin layer of batter on a hot griddle, then adding the desired fillings such as sweetened condensed milk, chocolate sauce, or coconut cream. It is then folded into a square or rolled up before being served.

I can only give this place 3 star, as all them couldn't speak english even single word. Lucky, we have a local driver that also can speak Indonesia well. The food overall is quiet OK, as they serves Boat Noodles and Pad Thai. Anyway this food outlet located in Ayuthaya City, around 1.5 hours drive from Bangkok. It was one of the ancient capital city of Thailand also.

Abadin Roti Saimai is a popular Thai dessert that offers a unique and delightful taste experience. The warm roti, filled with sweet and flavorful fillings, provides a satisfying texture as you chew. Kaffa Bistro in Ayutthaya is a must-visit dining destination for travelers looking to savor the exquisite flavors of European cuisine. The restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, adorned with colorful decor that adds character to the place. Guests can enjoy a variety of delectable dishes, including Porchetta Pizza, Mushroom Truffle Soup, and Spaghetti sour cream with New Orleans chicken.
This was perfect. My dad and I came here for dinner after seeing it recommended by other travellers. as soon as we stepped in the restaurant felt cosy and very welcoming. The owners were so lovely and introduced us to their cats after we showed our interest in their cats. 😁 The restaurant itself was decorated in very colourful items that gave it so much character and a standout place to go. The choice of the background music and the volume it was playing at was also perfect (table jazz, not too loud). My dad and I ordered stirfry garlic watercress with bacon, Fried tofu, and two portions of plain boiled rice. It was exactly what we wanted - fresh ingredients that didn’t rely on sugary sauces. We ate everything. For dessert, we got the Thai tea, ice cream and the green tea and Wasabi ice cream (both home-made) as we had never experienced these flavours before. My dad and I enjoyed both. The green tea and Wasabi flavour I’d only recommend if you enjoy Wasabi - it’s very unique. The two owners were so lovely , and the other staff were very welcoming and smiley. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I am from California and been in all over Thailand , this is the best restaurant I had ever ate in Thailand . The family owned restaurant has incredible service and food. I order pesto pasta and chicken wings. They even gave me a free Thai desert. My water was never half way full they always came and filled up. The pasta presentation with fire was impressive, made me feel like I was eating in Italy. Highly recommended!!!!
Bigrichsd1 — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pasta. For dessert, we had ice cream with cheese—something unique that I’d never tried before. I was truly impressed. The owner and the chef took great care of us. We drove from Bangkok and were able to park right in front of the restaurant. Thumbs Up!!!

The service is top notch, the best of Thai hospitality. Very welcoming hole in the wall Italian restaurant wasn't expecting such friendly and professional service. Excellent live music by solo singer and guitarist (we visited on a rather wet Saturday). Large selection of beers and big menu. The owner gave us VIP treatment and we really enjoyed the craft beers, the house Merlot and selection of salads and pasta. Next time will definitely try the pizza. Great value for money my only very minor complaint would be the pasta could have been hotter. Cos it was raining so badly and we had walked from our hotel the staff very kindly offered umbrellas which was much welcomed. Will be back!

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to Wat Mongkhon. There was Thai live music playing and the ambience was cozy. We ordered a pasta, pizza and beer. The pasta was flavorful, the sauce was very good. Pizza was well made too. The pasta sauce and few other items are for sale here. Service is quick and the owner is friendly. The location is a bit away from the sights, but the food is well worth the effort to make it here!

Went there for Belgium beer after dinner. Wide selection of Belgium beer available from smooth, fruity to bitter. Have a wide selection of food as well. Highly recommend the Pauwel Kwak bitter beer which is very aromatic and smooth and serve in a signature glass bulb with wooden stand.

First time here and i ordered every menu by the owner suggested. Porchetta Pizza , 8.5” is good for 2 people , Rich Flavors , The Pizza dough is perfect. Perfectly cheesy for cheese lover. Mushroom Truffle Soup , drip the bread in soup and then wait until it soft, very going well , the soup not to rich , many hint of mushroom flavor. Love it. Spaghetti sour cream with new orleans chicken , i never ate this menu before , and it make me excited. good flavor but the chicken is too dry and salty. Beef skewers, I loved this menu , in the skewers has many layers of lean and fat pieces. Drip in mustard is perfect. Platter of Ribs , 2 Way Smoke Rip first one is barbecued , second one is honey sesame oil’s, it’s good . Total of menu I’ve ordered of 6 menu 17xx THB Appreciate with service.

Restaurant
Nestled along the river, Baan Kun Pra is a charming destination that beautifully marries traditional architecture with modern dining experiences. Originally a village transformed into a museum through Thai-Dutch collaboration, it offers visitors an intriguing glimpse into history alongside delightful culinary offerings. The restaurant's simple yet captivating design features architectural models and twinkling lights that create a romantic atmosphere perfect for couples.
Baan Kun Pra is a lovely restaurant by the river in Ayutthaya. It is in a traditional Thai wooden house with a warm and peaceful feeling. The outdoor seating by the river is very relaxing, especially during sunset. The place is clean, beautiful, and full of plants. It’s a nice spot to enjoy with friends or family. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty, with many Thai dishes full of flavor. The tables were set nicely with flowers, and the service was quick. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ayutthaya.

Quality restaurant with friendly staff and beautiful scenery. Had to ask them to spice the food up a bit because they'd instinctively tuned it down for me as a foreigner, but overall a great experience.
Gordon D — Google review
The restaurant is designed simply but is eye-catching thanks to the decoration and display of architectural models. There is a beautiful view of the river towards the river which is very nice and romantic. In the evening, there are beautiful and small lights suitable for dating couples. The food was delicious and beautifully displayed, we had a wonderful dinner together while on a trip through Thailand.

The local food was okay, but not suitable with the price. Cozy terrace along the river to enjoy the food and company. Nice arranged dishes on classic china with a good service. All in all an okay experience, but the thing I give ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for is the Lemongrass lemonade with cardboard straw!! Creative and good initiative 👍

Great restaurant on the river, very nice atmosphere with string lights and lots of plants. Food is very high quality for the price. Would come back and recommend to anyone visiting!

This restaurant is a must for river prawn. Would definitely come back again just for that. The lemongrass drink was great, much better than pandan juice. Parking can be slightly problematic. You will need to park on the road in the area. So best to start looking for parking before you get to the restaurant The interior was beautiful.

Burinda is a great Thai restaurant with delicious food, friendly service, and plenty of seating options. It's a great spot for dinner with friends or to eat alone. The menu features a variety of classics that are sure to please, from chicken dishes to pad Thai. There's also plenty of vegetarian options, along with smoothies and juices for those who want something lighter.
We had lunch at this place by chance, and the food was delicious! We ordered a Pad Thai, and my partner even ordered a second one because it was so good. After a month of traveling, this remained one of his best meals! Even the mango sticky rice was excellent. The staff was warm and friendly, the presentation was carefully done, and the wait time for the dishes was very short! We highly recommend this place and absolutely loved it! Prices are reasonable for the area (Pad Thai = 89 baht). The Thai tea was delicious!"

Great value choice for a meal near the temples, where I had one of the best pad thai I had while in Thailand. Take into account that there is no AC since the place is open air, but the food is worth it.
Manuel A — Google review
Stop and eat here. We skipped it at first cause they did not have AC and our kids were hot (100 degree day). But then we decided it was too original to skip. We cooled off at a place with AC and came back. Thank god we did. The people are super friendly. The food was amazing. We had a great time eating here. I know it’s hot but you’re here. Get used to the heat and enjoy the culture.

We asked for no spicy at all pad thais. They served 6 pad thai really spicy. The woman replaced two of them with a new no spicy pad thai. However, when the man arrived, he refused to replace the third we asked for a replacement. We asked for it at several times and we ended ordering an additional plate. Beware of the man!
Francisco M — Google review
The taste of the food was good :) but the hygiene was very bad… part of the food was prepared by a man with really dirty hands and the cook sneezed, touched her nose and just continued cooking. That was an unpleasant experience. Though the people were really nice!

Really amazing food. Parang karry with beef was the best, this is my favourite dish and they made it perfectly. They even have wine and the price is ok. Cost for the food is also ok. They have Thai food that are amazing. And also none Thai dishes as chicken cordon bleue and carbonare and these where also great. Drinks are great. And best of all. They have an musician that plays well and in English we could understand. We spend a lot of money but we also stayed for long and had a lot to eat and a lot to drink.
Signe S — Google review
VERY nice place. The food is very good, ( I grade very hard, this place probably deserves a 5, but I only now give 5's to the white tablecloth places with wine stewards, and food pairings so don't take my 4 as a negative, I keep trying to think of a better personalized grading system) and they care about their customers. Live music streetside in one of the more attractive open air restaurants in the area. There is also an airconditioned zone with a very interesting collection of maritime photos. A great place for anyone with ties to the sea or a a life on the sea or with boating. This place could easily become a regular place to enjoy on every visit to Ayutthaya. You could spend 150 THB, but you must have their cocktails, or maybe a beer with your very good food order. You will be glad you came here.

Superb location and atmosphere, unfortunately those are all it has. Food took ages to serve, taste are just alright, price is on the high side. 50 baht for concentrated juice in a whiskey glass, 150 baht for a very fair speghetti Bolognese (served with fork and knife, lol), 150 baht for half decent green curry with plain rice sold seperately at 20 baht, gosh, you can get a decent fried rice at 50 baht around here. If you just arrived and think this is the price range in Ayutthaya, it's not. Walk around a little bit and u will find better eateries.

The Raan Tha Luang Dinner Cruise is a great way to enjoy Thai cuisine while viewing the river and cityscape in Ayutthaya. The restaurant has a wide variety of delicious dishes, including vegetarian options, and friendly staff who are happy to help with translations if needed. The cruise offers an excellent opportunity to relax by the river while enjoying a beautiful sunset or sunrise.
This was one of our favorite lunch spots of our trip. The food was delicious, and my partner specifically said this was some of the best Pad Thai she had eaten on the trip. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Matt G — Google review
Nice place for food. We went here as part of our tour. Food ordered in advance so it came pretty promptly. I really enjoyed my pineapple rice...especially as it came in a pineapple! (Not had that before!) Nice riverside view as well
Heather H — Google review
Raan Tha Luang restaurant was an unfortunate stop, forced as part of a Trip Guru tour. We had to preorder meals through the guide, yet still waited 30 minutes once in the restaurant. While most guests were served quickly, one of our dishes, Pad Thai, arrived long after the first meal—cold by then. Four staff members stood watching our group rather than tracking down the missing order. Prices were fair, but a service charge was added despite the poor experience, which felt unjustified. The food tasted average, pork dish was dry, and lacked authenticity. The venue clearly caters to large tour groups over individual diners, and our Trip Guru guide made little effort to resolve the issue, preferring to enjoy their own meal. I wouldn’t choose to eat here, and Trip Guru should consider an alternative, as others in our group also found the food and value disappointing.
Karen G — Google review
It was really quiet in terms of people present, but the guy on the guitar played in volume like it was a full stadium 🥴 (a typical Thai thing we discovered). The morning glory was really nice. The fried pork was not my thing, really fatty and hardly any flavor. The pineapple filled with rice was ok, but the battered chicken on top, was chewy and had a floury taste 😔 So no, we don’t recommend this place for food, service was fast and friendly and the music was better than in another place last night, but way too loud.
BestByBoris ( — Google review
What an absolutely hidden gem! Live music, great food, attentive staff. Would 100% recommend. I haven't bothered writing any reviews on my whole trip, but absolutely felt I must here. I went to 6 other restaurants looking for vegetarian food, but none of them had any. By pure chance did I find this place - they had a whole vegetarian menu! And the tofu+cashew dish was amazing. They had live music too, and he was excellent! Created a great atmosphere. The staff brought me mosquito repellent when they saw me kill a mosquito. A++ experience and food.
Suzanne A — Google review
Nice atmosphere by the river, they have live music every evening and you can even rent the boat for a romantic dinner or birthday. The food was okay. The place is full of farang (foreigners) maybe thats why the food is not spectacular. The curry came in like 3 minutes and wasn’t super hot. But still tasted good. The steamed fish was very nice, great lime sauce with some garlic. Coconut is always great in 🇹🇭
Daniel B — Google review
Food was good and the servers attentive. Nice view of the river and out of the sun with fans. Portions a bit on the small side but just right for a hot day. Would eat here again.
M T — Google review
We were brought here by our tourist guide. The food we ordered (pineapple fried rice and a cabbage soup) have been brought in 5 minutes after we had placed the order. Needless to say, the rice was not freshly cooked. It was coldish warm, the deep fried chicken was cold and hard to chew. The soup was not tasty either, I spit the meat ball the moment I tasted it. The spring rolls were eatable, but really nothing special. We complained about the pineapple rice. The staff was nice and kind to take it back and replace, 5 min later, just slightly warmer this time, while the chicken now was fried right before serving, but it was hard to chew. Besides, it was not easy to communicate with the staff in English, we had to use body language to explain what medium hot would be. The total bill was over 600 baht, double of what we'd pay in a good average restaurant in Bangkok. Unfortunately, we don't recommend this place, unless you have no other choice.
