The 12 best bakeries in Flint

It's one of my favorite places to go to indulge in sweets!!! They have everything from cookies, muffins, cakes, pies, and their famous pasties!!! Everything that I've tried so far has been delicious, and their customer service is wonderful!! Definitely recommend!!

The pasties are amazing; the BESTinthe Flint metro. The staff are friendly, accomodating, and efficient. The have baked goods available, including pies! Thebuilding gives me the feeling of a small town bakery. The food is delicious and you can eat on site.

~ Friendly staff, clean store front, tasty pasties & great desserts! After eating a slice of strawberry rhubarb, I wish I would have bought a whole pie. I’m not always in Flint, but when I am I’m going to be sure to pop in.

I've lived down the road for years and always heard great things about this place, so when my friend asked me to pick her up some pasties I had to try it. There was some confusion about what I had ordered but it was quickly handled by the very friendly staff they have! She even gave me some free cookies to try since it was my first time. The cookies were amazing so I bought a slice of cake too. The pasties are hot and delicious and even come cold for a little cheaper.

Just a small shop of two in the county of Genesee that makes pasties. They are good sized and tasty.

Snowy days always beg for a Pasty from King Arthurs. Settled for a beef with gravy. Little bit o' BBQ sauce. Yummy for the tummy!!

Having moved to the west coast, coming home to visit and experiencing King Arthur’s pasties again is so wonderful. Their pasties rate right up there with any pasties I’ve had the pleasure of eating on the west coast as well as across this country and other countries. A taste of home. A taste of goodness. Glad you’re still around. Robert was polite, helpful and kind. Made this returning customer smile.

I would like to thank these wonderful ladies who run the Flint farmers market location. They always go above and beyond for the customers and always have a sunny and happy disposition. I always buy my freshly baked sourdough bread here. If you haven't tried them out yet, give it a shot. You will not be disappointed with their superior, freshly baked goods.

This is only a review of the oatmeal raisin cookie. 2 star cookie very heavy on the dough. Light raisins. Needed more spices. Flavor was very dull and the cookie was dry but not brittle. Good for some cookies but not oatmeal raisin. Oatmeal raisin should be moist and chewy.

Best bread I've ever had, so much so I truthfully can't stand the stuff from the grocery store any more. I definitely don't feel that's a bad thing. Their pastries are also amazing, and our dog loves their treats too.

Crust's bakers are absolute masters of the oven. I highly recommend the Henry Street Provincial. #Heavenly

Crust makes amazing bread, but their Lemon Scones are INCREDIBLE!

Have been buying Donna’s donuts for many years. Something changed, and not for the better .The stick donuts are no longer individual donuts; they’re made as a sheet cake and then cut into donuts. This exposes the cake sides which dry out; donuts should be cooked on all sides. The taste is still there, but the quality has gone downhill. The cream filled sticks are not cream filled. See the below picture as it was a disappointing trip. I even took a friend there for the first time and boasted about the donuts and now I have to call her and apologize for the let down. The nutty donut I bought was half good and half was almost raw dough. Strange that only half was cooked fully through. I couldn’t even eat the other half. Can’t vouch for the other donuts I bought as they are frozen. It won’t be eaten until later date. Hope I’m not disappointed with those as well. It really pains me to give a bad review after boasting so highly of the donuts!

One of the best donut shops on the planet. Just remember, no seating. They have daily specials, and do not be afraid to try them. Today they had strawberry cheesecake stuffed donuts. Goodness :)

First time coming here! I love the logo I think it's so cute and can't wait to get a shirt from Donna's! The donuts were definitely fresh and tasty. We got the bakers dozen! Affordable too. Got a fun mix of different types of donuts. Not sure what will be my favorite yet.

Donna's Donuts! A local legend in Flint. A must try donut place. If you're really blessed you'll have Ron getting your donuts for you. Ask him about the recipe for the moon rock donut. It's basically, while I can't tell you because you just have to go check it out!

The service was fantastic, the donuts are legendary. The moon rock is a gift from the sky. Absolutely delicious. About $25 for a dozen+1 donuts, but we'll worth it for how fresh and delicious they are. You shouldn't eat donuts all the time anyways, so when you treat yourself might as well treat yourself to Donna's. I get this every time I'm in the area.

We do love the nutty donut while in Michigan. In a different area today and we’re recommended Donna’s. Very clean spot and happy employees. We enjoyed the nutty but the other donuts just didn’t have the flavors that worked for me. The moon rock, and cinnamon roll looked great, just lacking depth. Presentation was great and the smiles were great down to 4 stars just looking for more flavor. If in the area and needing a donut I wouldn’t hesitate this place.

They've got the best donuts in town and the area for sure always have and always will. I went in for some custard cream sticks and they didn't have any in the front so the lady went to the back and put some together for me.

Amazing on all levels. Perfect atmosphere quiet enough to talk without issue and beautifully decorated. The food was amazing. The mango chutney with the shrimp app was divine. The pork dinner was tender and flavorful. The Raven is a must have drink. Thank you for a great night with friends.

Bar service extremely slow when literally 15 ppl in the whole place. Server needs to be more attentive & get special orders correct. Sending food back is annoying esp when you ask for it w/o something right out the gate! The live music was awful tonight. Food was good. Pretty restaurant.

Until last night, I had never had a bad experience with this restaurant. Now, I and everyone at my table has no desire to ever go back. We were promptly seated because we had a reservation for 6:30. We placed our food and drink order at the same time within 10 minutes of being seated since we were attending a concert down the street at 8pm. We received our drinks and salads in a timely fashion. And everything tasted good. Once our server cleared our salad plates, she stopped attending to our table. 30 minutes went by and she walked by our table numerous times, even when we repeatedly looked at her and motioned that we needed something. I finally asked another employee for the manager. I explained to the manager that our server hadn't been to our table in over 30 minutes and that she had ignored our several attempts to get her to attend to our table. I explained that we had a concert at 8 pm and that we needed an eta on our food. Server was sent to the table and I explained the situation and our frustration that she ignored out attempts to get her attend to our table. She claimed she never saw us. Not sure how that's possible since the final time she was attending to the table right next to us and all of us we're waving our hands and saying hey and excuse me to her and she walked right past us. By then, we had been there an hour with no main course. We watched the table next to us get their food and have it cleared even though they were seated after us. Same server as us. The server stated that the kitchen was behind. I explained we had a concert at 8 pm and we to know when we will be getting our food. She said she would check and then left and didn't come back for another 10 minutes. She finally came back to tell us the food is being plated now. Food came out and there was a ton of stem coming off the mushroom risotto. It was too hot to eat and we were out of time. We boxed up most of our food and got our bills and left. Unfortunately, we missed the beginning of the concert. It should not take an hour and a half to receive your main course. Never again.

Me and a friend stopped in for a late dinner on a Tuesday night, the food and service were top notch! I've been coming here once or twice a year for the past 6-7 years and the food has always been delicious 😋

Love this place! Very elegant place. Service is outstanding. It's more upscale than other restaurants downtown. Tonight we stopped in for drinks and dessert. Highly recommend 💚💯💯

I’ve been here twice, both for friend’s birthday’s! The shrimp & grits are amazing! If you like lamb chops I highly recommend theirs. The spinach & artichoke dip are good also. They don’t have blended drinks but the raspberry margaritas are really good & strong! The wait for food is not that bad. Attentive & friendly waitresses! Will be back again.

The sandwiches are to die for. Great quality and service. They even grill them upon request. They were out of Pastrami, so I decided to get turkey instead, and it was still amazing. The sandwich was perfect 👌

Place is cool and the deli food was very good. Also liked that you can walk around and grab different beers to make your own 6 pack but just now realized half of the beers I bought are 2 months expired and taste like crap. Looks bad for not only Oliver t but also the brewery’s if customers aren’t seeing they are no longer good and tasting them this way.

I haven’t been to this area in a couple of years and was looking forward to stopping in. The grass needs to be cut. It looks awful. Immediately walking in, it seemed disheveled and needs to be cleaned properly. The staff was great! My cheesecake was old and dry! The chicken noodle soup was spicy!? The Reuben sandwich was excellent! Overall I felt underwhelmed and disappointed.

So happy to see this place is up for sale. I hope someone restores this place to what it once was: a beloved Genesee County staple! It’s almost like the current owners don’t view their employees as human and have no clue how to manage a business 😉 I guess you reap what you sow! Sometimes karma is sweet! 🍦🍭

I am so happy to have found this market! Great cheese, beer, wine selection. Lots of cookies, snacks, sauces from around the world. Most sections are organized by country so it's easy to find food from a specific country. I found some good English beer that I can never find anywhere, and I got some Milka bars I've been craving since I had them in Spain on my honeymoon. Check it out!

This place has the largest beer wine and liquor selection that I have ever seen in this area. They also have a nice selection of unique gifts. The deli is great and they have a huge menu. I didn’t try any of the sweets but they looked delicious. The staff was also very friendly

Great selection of pastries and various baked goods. The tiramisu, in particular, was excellent. Super friendly staff. It did strike me as slightly concerning that there was no one in the store while we were there. Hopefully that's not a sign of the level of business they're getting these days. I would hate to lose this unique market.

Don't tell anyone... wait, no tell EVERYONE... wait no, keep this place a secret.... no, keep the business succeeding... ok, you get it... the million dollar cookie and the billion dollar brownies are worth more than, well... crack...well, thankfully, I don't know the going rate for that, so let's just say her prices are more than fair, and the treats are creative and delicious. Go if you can control yourself.... I couldn't. 😜

Overall, my family and I like coming here. I have been to this shop a few times in the last year. My kids like the ice cream and cookies. Usually. Today was an off day. My son ordered a vanilla milkshake for the first time and it was not very tasty. It had a thin consistency. We ended up throwing it away, which was painful since it cost $7. I got the brownie sundae, which is amazing, and my son ended up just eating the vanilla ice cream off my sundae and liked it much better than the $7 milkshake. The shop is located next to a busy and noisy street, which isn’t the greatest location for small kids, but if you eat inside the shop, it isn’t an issue. I recommend people come for the cookies and the ice cream… just maybe not the milkshakes.

We stumbled upon this adorable place while looking for a place to eat lunch. Needless to say we were thrilled. Teressa and Iris were amazing! And the cookies? Amazing. The perfect texture. Not to chewy, not hard at all. The prices were great too. We got a peanut butter, strawberry, lemon, the million dollar cookie and the brownie. This place is a hidden gem of Flint. Well worth a short detour off 69 to grab a bag of cookies to take home, but buy extra because after smelling that place you are sure to start eating them in the car!

I noticed this cookie and cakes shop while getting take out next door. The building is brightly painted and had the only Green grass on this snowy day. Theresa (owner), saw me outside taking pictures of her business, and offered to show me the inside. The inside smelled like cakes and cookies and was filled with baked goods going out for an order waiting to be picked up for an event. Super clean and organized inside, with the ovens and machines all stainless steel and looked new, and very clean. I bought two chocolate chip cookies and me, my girlfriend, and my client i gave a cookie loved the cookies. Best chocolate chip cookie ever, No Joke!

The cookies are so big and so delicious! I had the million dollar cookie and the chocolate chip cookies both are worth every bite!

Oh my goodness, this is the best place to get cookies, I stopped in today, and got a couple of Million Dollar cookies. They are so deliciuos 😋 I met the sole owner of the "Cookie Jar" her name is Teresa, sweetest lady you could ever meet. If you get the chance Please stop in and say "Hi" and buy some cookies, you will not be disappointed. She will have ice cream next week. Please Stop at the "Cookie Jar" 3207 Saginaw St. Flint, Mich. Still have the best tasting cookies around! 🍪

Found this Place on accident! I drove by and noticed the bright colors on the building and was like what is that place! Made a u-turn and saw it was a Cookie store. But not just any cookie place it was The Cookie Jar . What a clever name! Parked my car walked in and it smelled amazing! I was greeted and felt like if I was at home. I love cookies and when I say that there's no cookies out there like these I mean it! The prices are awesome but once you try them you feel like they should cost more! I bought a couple to go and halfway down the street I regretted not buying more! So I turned around and went back for more. I had to make sure I had some for dessert and breakfast and at least a couple for tomorrows lunch ! Will definitely be a regular from now on. Make sure you the the famous Million dollar Cookie! That's the Owners famous cookie that started it all from the story I was told. Please make time and come try it yourself and you won't regret it!

Very nice staff and owner! All of the treats are delicious! They are always willing to accommodate every special request I have ever had, no matter how crazy! I make it a point to stop by and pick up a yummy dessert from them every time I am at the farmers market!

I was a very busy for Farmer's Market as the temps were in the lower 60's with moderate Winds/No Sun. I decided to file the crowd to the bagel stand, but ultimately settled on a Warm and Gooey Cream Cheese Cinnamon Roll.

Best treats EVER!! We had their mini desserts at our wedding and they were absolutely delicious!! Our guests kept saying how amazing the mini cheesecakes and strawberry cupcakes were. Rachel was also super easy to work with and had awesome recommendations!! She even set up the desserts at the venue and made the labels for each dessert!! Highly recommend!!

Rachel worked with me throughout the pandemic via email and was so detailed in answering all of my questions until we were safely allowed to meet in person for a cake tasting. My fiance and I absolutely loved the cakes we tried and booked her immediately! Our wedding cake turned out beautifully and was exactly what we envisioned! We received so many comments from our guests about how delicious the cake was! I highly recommend them!!

Outstanding desserts! Semi-Sweets catered a dessert only event I hosted. I had people asking where I got the desserts from all night long. Everyone that helped me was also very kind. I highly recommend them for your catering needs, or stop in and get a yummy treat!

Love the amazing baked goods and treats here. Not only are their normal goods and offerings amazing, but the absolutely come through with all of our special orders no matter how off the wall they seem. Didn't have the extreme cinnamon bread I want but ours in Grand Rapids burned down. Could get that bread everyday.

The closest Tim Hortons to me and I always avoid it like a plague. Unconsciously went today and 1st sip was INSTANT regret. This location NEVER gets the coffee right. It either taste burnt or taste too watery. Today was my lucky day! I got both burnt and watery tasting coffee! Oh and they didn't include my shot of espresso either. The bar was set even lower today. Will continue to drive past this location and go to the 1 I frequent most.

Awful Tim Hortons location. For some reason in the drive thru the employees can never hear your order the first time and make you repeat every single portion of your order, just to get it wrong in the end anyways. I don't have a quiet voice and I make it a point to speak my order clearly. It doesn't matter. Today I ordered an Ubereats delivery for my wife and they sent the wrong drink (confirmed I ordered correctly on the app), so it's definitely just an overall lack of care and attention. Save yourself the trouble and go to the Tim Hortons a few minutes away on Miller Rd, where they are far more accurate, not to mention super polite.

A simple drink order gets messed up, every single time. This is the worst Tim Hortons I've ever been too. Mocha ice coffee, triple, triple. Never mocha. Never sweet. Always tastes like burnt coffee and maybe half and half. It's annoying.

The service has never been the same ever time I went. Food is never hot when you go to the drive thru. They are not welcoming when you get to the window they never greet you, never good morning how are you. What only focus on how fast they can get your food to you and not the experience when you get the food. It's always sloppy, they never mark the food when you get 2 of the same order. And you have to ask them if it's marked and the say yes it is and then you check your order and then it's not marked at all. That is very disappointing to the customer.

Ordered two iced matcha, they were good. Iced coffee was the most watered down drink I've ever had. There was a suspicious card reader below the drive through window... The nice lady at the window said she doesn't know what it was and I believe her, so what's up with having a working card reader below the window lol. My friends and I muse that some nefarious bad actor installed a skimmer. Genius.

Ordered Nutella latte... Don't know what i received but it was expensive. Gotten the Nutella latte before and liked it. This didn't even look the same. It literally looked like a coke. The speaker seems to be cutting out a lot as communication in the drive through was difficult. Hopefully my drink order got mixed up cause of that...

Their ice-cream cakes are sooooo delicious! I bought the Strawberry passion and couldn't stop eating it! The staff was very friendly and courteous. The facility was pretty clean.

Food was good, selection was slim. Service was slow but friendly. The place was clean. Parking sucks. Nothing was so bad that I wouldn't go back though.

This location has the fastest service I've been too . And my order is always made accurately ! This is the only Tim Hortons I choose to go too in this area best service overall!

I just wanna say tonight I was that horrible person who showed up at the last minute at closing with a mobile order and they were out of what I wanted and they made it for me with like seconds before they close. I am truly so thankful that they were willing to do that. They were so kind of like you can cancel the order and they were like no and it is the perfect drink. I am so thankful they were so nice and kind. I definitely will go back.

If I could give 0 stars I would. These workers are some of the rudest people I’ve ever seen in my life and absolutely don’t belong in customer service. It’s a simple order and pickup type of place, but that’s never how my experience goes. I have a dairy allergy and I always order my drinks with oatmilk, today one of the workers must not have heard me over the drive thru mic, because when I asked if my drink had oatmilk, they all looked at each other and rolled their eyes and had to remake the drink. On one of my previous visits, I ordered a drink and got the complete opposite of what I asked for, and the employees always have the audacity to act like I’m the one in the wrong, and they have crappy attitudes. Unfortunately this is the only place I can go when I’m working on my 15 minute breaks, so there’s not much I can do. I work in customer service myself and I would never treat anyone the way these workers do. Literally just want to be treated like a normal customer, and I feel like requesting no cheese or alternative milk is not that hard to do.

We ordered a mango flavored refresher and cinnamon caramel apple iced coffee. Both were absolutely horrible, neither one of them were drank. What a waste of money

Have stopped for an iced tea three times in the past week (all different times of the day) and they were out of yea each time. This was an ongoing issue at this store last summer also. At least put a sign out so people don't waste 15 minutes sitting in line just to be told they are out.

The best pretzels and I’m glad they’re still open. I’m sharing a photo I took when both workers helped a disabled gentleman with his order. One asked if she could bring his order to the table in center court. I’m disabled and this is not a common occurrence. Both workers are models for courtesy and decency. I’m happy to give this location my business any day.

I made a rare trip to the mall today. I decided to get some pretzels to bring home. I stood in line and after observing for a minute I decided to walk away. Basically all of the employees were wearing their masks under their noses. Definitely not safe during a pandemic. No thank you.

I took my three siblings with me to get a bucket of pepperoni pretzels and I just got home and felt so sick and I threw up. We also waited 15 minutes for them. They were okay but maybe they were underdone because I am now sick. I definitely won’t be back:(

Excellent customer service provided by the cashier. She was warm, friendly and very kind. The pretzel nuggets were excellent, too. What a great experience!

Best peanut butter cookies! Better than Mama's or my grandma's. Milk chocolate chip and the semi sweet chip are really good. They even have good drinks too. Stop whenever I shouldn't only because the peanut butter cookies are calling me

A favorite place along with the Pretzel store in the mall:-) I think I like the pretzels even better but cookies are always a winner. The mall is coming back to life and has a lot of great stores. Macy's in JCPenney's are still going strong and we need to support the local economy. Across the street is Faith Christian Store Chipotle and Panera Bread which makes the trip out there worth it

Refusing to honor what is on there web site. Owner Nisreen has no voice mail it just rings. Employee behind counter rude not busy , hate to see you bake a cookie. Just called another location it will be done by 3 45 today.Dont waste your time at this location.
