In utter shock as I write my review…
Are you a mother that has toddlers? Do you use a stroller to put your toddlers in it so you can shop peacefully? Well, if you are then, please do not walk into this location. I was personally victimized there today and targeted for no good reason other than the fact that I am pushing a double stroller with my kids in it.
I am a very regular customer and I always shop at Burlington as I love their Products. But after today’s experience, I will not be stepping another foot in there and it’s all due to the way I was treated today.
After walking into the big fitting room with a stroller and my items, I had to walk back in again after bringing more stuff in and taking some stuff out. They had locked that room before I walked in again, and then the lady had Told me that I am not allowed to bring in my stroller, and after I told her that I will not be walking into the fitting room without my kids outside without my stroller, she said that she would call a manager to come see if I can bring in the stroller, they sent in another person to walk me in to the room and the other person had told me it’s OK to bring in the stroller and she took a look at my items and she was fine with me bringing everything in with me.
And as I’m getting changed inside, The manager at that time starts knocking down at my door as if she is a cop, I open the door and I look very confused and then I see both of the manager and that lady that had told me that the stroller wasn’t allowed to go into the room the first time both staring inside my room left and right trying to figure out what’s going on inside.
I got the hint that both of them think that I’m stealing something so I open the door fully for them both to walk in and take a look at it as I tell them “ Do you wanna take a look?” They surely say yes, and walk in, and I explain to them what each of my piles were for. They decided to take the pile of “Yes” that I had made outside, and they decided to take the pile of “No” that I made outside. I literally continued to say, ?can I now finish trying on the rest of my clothes?” And after they walked out, I tried the rest of my clothes on, when I stepped outside, they were both standing in front of the door, waiting for me to walk out, and when I asked where the clothes that I wanted were at, they said that they placed them all at the register and that if I wanted them, I can go there and get them.
This is all happening in front of customers, while the lady is looking down at my stroller, I got the hint that she wanted to take a look at it so I started showing her my bags and I was asking her if she wanted to search them and sure enough she said yes, and she started opening my babies, diaper bags and snack bags to make sure there’s nothing inside them. I was in shock.
I then told her that this shirt that I tried on I would like to get it. And she took it for me and said she will take it to the rest of the clothes that they sent at the register as if I wasn’t allowed to hold anything with me? I honestly felt speechless and enraged. As all of this was happening my little daughter looked up at me and said “mom why were they looking at your bag?”… I literally had no answer for her, and I myself had no answer either.
See in good businesses if you figure out that someone is acting suspicious in your store, you check the cameras first and then you go and you treat it right, in this case nothing about this was done right or professionally, and I just felt attacked for no reason, I ended up going and buying $134 Worth of clothing and I left the store. And the whole time I was in line, I was getting the weirdest looks by different workers because I’m sure they have paged each other.
This was not at all OK, so if you are a mom with a stroller, please save yourself the humility And do not go in there with your stroller and kids, because you will be targeted. What kind of a world do we live in right now? This is an absolute abomination.
Very disappointed.
