Shopping mall
Shopping
The bustling shopping center boasts a diverse selection of well-known retailers, cafes, a food court, and a tavern. While it may have had its heyday in the past, the current state of the mall leaves much to be desired. Only one Chinese food establishment remains open in the deserted food court, while the nonfunctional escalator adds to the overall lackluster ambiance. Many of the stores are disappointingly vacant or permanently closed.
I get my sneakers online but pick up in store. Just so I can have my size on lock. And also I still get that good o'l Mall shopping experience.

Nightmarishly abandoned. Do not visit. Nothing left to see here. Don't open, dead inside. Ghost of what it was. A remnant of a better age. The last son of krypton is sick and dying. This place is has nothing for here here, just give it up. I've never seen a more dilapidated abode that still tried to pretend it was alive. Almost feels like necromancy is practiced here at this point.
Reid F — Google review
I mean, how do you rate a mall that has like 5 open stores? lol. They have Spencer's, hot topic, auntie annes...honestly the only shops you need. There are no annoying center aisle stalkers. So you don't have to figure out how to become invisible or feel bad the rest of your day cause you ignored another human. Honestly, it's one of my favorite places if they had more accessible bathrooms. You actually have to wander around, hoping you don't piss yer pants before you find the hidden necessity. It's a mall walker paradise cause again it's empty. There is plenty of space for your zoomies.
Jax — Google review
The Genesee Valley Mall was a fantastic place to shop in the 1970's loaded with great stores and wonderful people. But now it is an abandoned shell of it's former self just like Flint. Flint has only about 40% of the homes/businesses it once had and half of those are waiting to be demolished as the property values keep declining. MOVE OUT OF FLINT NOW WHILE YOU STILL CAN !!!!!!!!!
XYZ — Google review
The mall is a shell of its former glory days. The kids think it is kind of cool that it isn't crowded or busy. Many of the store locations are vacant and dark. What will become of this mall 5 years from now? 🤔
Gabriel F — Google review
This is an okay mall. It’s second floor is closed entirely, and it’s first floor has several vacancies. The outdoor area of the mall, which has a Wahlburgers and Bar Louie, are both closed and the area they are in is overgrown with grass. However, there are still some nice stores here. It’s JC Penney has several good deals on purses, dress shirts, and Adidas clothes. It has a JD, which has a nice selection of Adidas and Hood Rich merchandise. There’s also a nail salon, a few shoe stores, a library, a Barnes and Noble, a children’s play area, and an atrium with a free piano to play. I gave this mall three stars because while it is dying, it still has some nice stores left. It’s parking lot also has several potholes.
Qwerty — Google review
It use to be a good place to get food and do alittle shopping with the wife but has been run down and could use a real over haul to being back the life , I remember when it was a good place to go for things
Jake S — Google review
Unfortunately, most of the stores in the mall are closed up or on the verge of closing. The last several times I have been there, more stores seem to be closed than opened and less and less people are shopping there. The parking lot is crumbling, there have been several maintenance issues over the last few years and the entire food court upstairs looks to be closed.

Dort Mall is a unique and nostalgic shop that offers a variety of items reminiscent of the 70s, including black light posters, t-shirts, biker patches, stickers, jewelry for men and women, flags from different countries and eras like World War II German SS flags and USA banners. It's a one-of-a-kind mom-and-pop store with an old-school vibe where you can find swords, knives, and much more.
A bit of a drive from the Thumb. But Aron and ACPRC is always worth the trip. Great R/C shop.
Thomas J — Google review
Dort mall is the worst mall I have ever been to. This mall is almost completely vacant and has an extremely drab interior. The only stores here a few discount stores, a hockey equipment store, and an RC store. The hockey equipment seemed well stocked, and the discount store I went into had shirts for $19.99, but they were of a significantly lower quality than those that you could find at a Ross or TJ Maxx. The interior of this mall consists of a singular hallway with exposed wooden beams supporting the roof, making this mall feel more like a barn than an actual mall, especially since there is no natural light inside. The bathrooms here were also quite dirty. In addition to that, this mall’s parking lot has some potholes, and the access road for this mall had so many large potholes that I felt like I was driving through a war zone. I gave this mall one star because it has a terrible atmosphere that gives off the same vibe as a damp basement, a terrible store selection, and disgusting bathrooms.
Qwerty — Google review
Just an old crappy mall I'm surprised it's still operating and in business. Does have a couple of cool stores left

Meh, it's the Small Mall, Dort Mall, mostly empty. 3 stores, tattoo place, and huge thrift shop. Still worth stopping in if you're gonna be nearby

This mall is pretty cool and unique. I enjoy seeing the vintage aesthetics. This mall is a gem.

Courtland Center is a charming destination that beautifully blends shopping and cultural experiences. One of its standout attractions is the Sloan Museum, which showcases an impressive array of Flint's history through over 150 years' worth of artifacts. Families will find plenty to keep the little ones entertained in the museum’s Play Area, complete with a house setup, grocery store, puzzles, and a cozy reading nook.
Nice place to eat and do some light shopping. Have good Sushi place.
SilverC. L — Google review
So very sad to see all place like this go down. There are only like 3 stores inside the mall itself. You can no longer access the anchor stores from the inside they are closed to the mall. This mall used to be great back in the day but now it is just a shell if its former glory. They have a bath and body works, and a nail place and like 1 or 2 other small stores left inside.
Matthew C — Google review
I wish it had more stores and return to its glory days. It does have El Cozumel ( an excellent restaurant that serves Mexican cuisine), JC Penny, Planet fitness and the Sloan Museum. I wish they could bring back the movie theater. It is an excellent place to escape the weather and walk. I have been going there for 50 years and have many fond memories.
Patsy F — Google review
Sad to see this mall go downhill. 10-15 year's ago this place was busy from open to close. Hopefully one day it will make a comeback, highly doubt it.
Michael L — Google review
Even though the mall isn't full of stores, what they do have is great! I wish more businesses would open in here though, but it's still a great mall! I'm sitting next to the fountain right now, writing this review. It's so relaxing, and I enjoy seeing people walking around and shopping! Lisa's has two store fronts here, and both stores are amazing(she has a salon too)!! Bath and body works is always a must stop at store, and Magoo's! JCPenney always has great deals, and Dunham's is still rocking too. I really need to check out "I need that" as they give foot massages, and I do need that! Lol. There is a nail salon in here too, and a men's store. Goodwill always has great items and deals, a long with the party store! It's definitely a mall worth checking out, and shopping at! Oh and the Mexican restaurant is fantastic, and has great food and margaritas!! Help support your local shops and malls! ❤️
Nicole C — Google review
Wow! Back in the day this mall was relatively busy. But now it only has a hand full of businesses operating out of it(JCPenney, Dunham's, GNC, Bath & Body, and a few others). There is a Sloan Museum exhibit, but I'm not sure if it's permanent or just temporary. It was closed when I visited the mall. There's definitely not a lot of shoppers to contend with. At least it's being maintained. It's actually a little sad to see all the vacant space.
John G — Google review
We come to the Sloan Museum regularly with our two boys, 6 and 8. There is always so much to do and see for the kids, and all hands on and fun based learning activities...keeps them busy half the day! This was our first visit to this temp location at Courtland Center but we are very excited for the new museum to open! The plans for it look amazing. If you are a Genesee Co resident you cannot beat the price so go check it out and have some fun.

Courtland Center is trying to come back! Having the Sloan Museum is really helping rebuild this mall. Don’t forget the Sloan Museum is free for all Genesee County Residents!! Great place for younger and older kids!!

I have been passing by this location for numerous years and am finally getting the chance to explore its interior. Totem Books, situated in the Flint area, is a delightful hidden gem. The bookstore offers a diverse assortment of books covering various subjects. The staff is amiable and the prices are reasonable. Additionally, they showcase a collection of unique books that are not easily found elsewhere. Moreover, there is a cozy café area where one can enjoy a momentary pause either alone or with company.
The ultimate record digging experience. Found some great copies of albums I’ve been looking g for. Lot of used media throughout the store (CDs, cassettes, books). I was able to enjoy a fresh brewed coffee during my visit. Hopefully they’ll have some wearable swag next time I visit. Cool little shop.
Todd D — Google review
I love it here! So many (used) books, I left with an entire bag full. They also host poetry nights which are a blast. The atmosphere is eccentric and interesting, while being totally comforting. Staff is always awesome. Can’t wait for my next trip to Totem!
Jen B — Google review
I don't even read and I love this place. Its such a nice atmosphere, they're so welcoming to everyone. They offer food some days, and they always offer teas and coffee. They won't kick you out if you spend hours sitting on the couch chatting with friends, and I think that says a lot about a business these days. It's a great place to find unique gifts or if you enjoy music and books it's also great for some retail therapy. I hope this place thrives forever
Aubs L — Google review
This is a treasure. They have a great atmosphere with books records and coffee bar. You have to check out Totem Books! Update: we just witness something amazing! This venue had 4 world class pianist playing boogie boogie for 2 hours! Highly recommend this place!
Eric R — Google review
Fantastic selection of used books, vinyls, and so much more. I would have given 5 stars if the lady that checked us out was courteous. She seemed bored and overly unfriendly. My wife (disabled as well) bought 8 small books, a very heavy book and a few others small items. She was given 1 plastic bag for the 8 small books with a large hole in it. We didn’t ask for a new bag or another bag because the clerks demeanor was not pleasant and also had ignored a question my wife asked while browsing for a title. Fortunately the store itself was very good. A couch, chairs, stools and tables for working on laptops along with free wifi! There is a small eatery inside with a few chairs. Prices were reasonable and with such a huge variety of unique items to browse, like stickers, buttons, coasters, shirts, etc. it’s got something for everyone. There is even a kids area with books. The inside is really nice and there are some beautiful murals on the building and another building in back. Disregarding the clerk, I recommend this bookstore as it has a lot offer. There is handicap parking on the side of the building and plenty of parking in general.
MarkaPhotog — Google review
Can sell used books but only if they choose to buy them from you! Best to donate books they dont buy. Donate either here, Goodwill or Salvation Army. Staff is very helpful and courteous!

Super cool place, awesome atmosphere, lots of cool books. And the mural on the side is awesome. Great visit, got a few books, some bookmarks, and some other stuff.

Hafiz greeted me with enthusiasm as I entered your store. He was very knowledgeable, as he answered all my questions and never left my side. I hate when salespeople disappear and have to be found. Hafiz was kind, professional, and he even drew a diagram to show me how I can set up the furniture for the bestful effect. THANK YOU HAFIZ!

First time shopper looking to replace 3 worn chairs. The showroom was large with a fair amount of furniture on display. Salesman Izzy introduced himself and let me browse at my leisure. Was taken by surprise when I was asked to have my driver's license info scanned as I was buying furniture, not liquor! I refused the license scanning request but provided all the info necessary to fill the order. Two of the chairs I ordered needed to be backordered so it took 1 month before the order was finally delivered a few weeks before Christmas. Customer service was helpful in providing me with delivery tracking and details. The delivery went very smoothly, the driver called ahead and was right on time. They were courteous, efficient and professional and I was quite pleased. The chairs I purchased are of good quality and well worth the price paid.

Well we bought mattress bed frame and a lift for the bed. We put it together and the lift would not fit the bed. So we put the lift on the bed supports. Then the mattress on it.It was over 40" above the floor which is way to high. He said it would be a little bit higher not much. He also told us we could bring the mattress back if we wanted he give us a timeframe. I don't remember what it was. So we called the next morning and they said they would not return it. So on our day off, we spent five hours at Ashleigh furniture trying to get it resolved. so anyways, our salesman was Josh not very happy with him. Yes, he made the sale, but we were not happy if he would've informed us that the bed was gonna be so tall we could've made a different choice instead of wasting our Saturday in your store trying to figure this mess out, but thanks to Quinn. He helped us out and the folks at your outlet center. We're also a big help, but But Josh on the other hand is not a very good salesman. We are not happy whether we shop at Ashleigh's again unknown probably not but Quinn did a great job. Tell Josh thanks for ruining our weekend. We were excited for our new bed but now our mattress is sitting on the floor
Darin S — Google review
This was a great experience buying a mattress. Izzy really helped me figure out what kind of mattress I was looking for and made the whole payment and delivery scheduling easy. I liked everything about the experience that if the mattress drop off and old mattress removal goes as planned, I’m going back for a big leather sectional couch!

Corey was awesome! He worked with is showed us so many options we weren't aware of and made sure we were comfortable with our purchases and our price. He also went out of his way to find deals and offers that may apply.

I'm handicap and my salesman was very patient with My limited movement and kind. He showed me many options for what material I was looking for and color. Then financing options. They gave me a discount and a vacation destination. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend the Ashley Home furniture store linden rd. Flint Michigan. This was my first purchase butwill not be my last! Great Job Izzy.
Fawn A — Google review
My husband and I just closed on our home and we went furniture shopping just to see what Ashley had to offer. We have both used Ashley in the past for a bedroom set and living room set and had both had great experiences. We were in need of quite a few things and especially a sectional for our new basement where we will be doing a lot of entertaining. We walked in and Tony greeted us right away, he was super friendly and wanted to let us know aside from Memorial day deals if we came back on Sunday we would get exclusive perks for the VIP event and it was by appointment only. So we made our appointment to return two days later and had pretty much everything narrowed down to what we wanted. We spent 4 hours making sure everything was just right. Tony was so professional, it's not often you come across a sales rep like him. He didn't feel pushy or sales-y, it felt like being informed by a family member or friend. Tony was super fun and friendly and most of all knowledgeable. It's incredible, there wasn't one piece in the store that he didn't know about. He's super confident and it was such a pleasure to work with him! We secured quite a few things while we were there. Tony worked with us so we could get the most bang for our buck, when we left we were satisfied with everything and how the process went. We ended up leaving with a sectional, entertainment pieces, a kids bedroom set, kids swivel chair, 2 new mattresses with sheets and 3 new pillows, a dining room set and an amazing water piece to hang in our new kitchen or living room! We got INCREDIBLE deals that were kind of hard to believe and our brand new couch even came with a FREE trip! So we are planning a trip to the Bahamas in 2 years, everything included we just have to pay for our own flights to get to Florida. I couldn't even believe it. Everything was so perfect! I love how they will hold the furniture until we leave and then the payments start a month after. We were not impressed only with Tony's skills, but the products that Ashley has to offer. We are again so impressed with Ashley, I don't think I could ever go anywhere else. I still have and love my bed/furniture set from there that I bought 3 years ago and we have absolutely no issues. Thank you Tony! We will definitely be back if anything else is needed! Please go see Tony at Ashley for all of your home furnishing needs!

From food and housewares to toys, this discount chain offers an eclectic mix that keeps customers coming back for more. Many visitors enjoy the thrill of exploring every aisle, often stumbling upon unexpected finds like discounted home decor or even popular "As Seen on TV" products.
Loved this place. People were friendly and helpful I got a lot of good deals on toys for my grandkids. There's a big selection of stuff. I thought the throw rugs would be cheaper and they are other places so I want to suggest going there to look for a carpet or rug. Everything else was priced well and nice staff

I love shopping for the seasonal stuff, especially when it's lawn and garden time. Always have a huge selection on books. I like to take my niece and nephew to pick out some books they love it. Also like to stock up on essentials like laundry detergent. The staff is always nice.

I like Ollie's. This time, they didn't have what I wanted, a 4 tier shelving unit. Their store is sort of cluttered, but there will be something you'll want. The cashier was friendly and polite.

I love coming here to shop. It's fun to just browse and look at everything. I always find deals on gardening supplies, T-shirts, and comforters. They also have great deals during Christmas on kids' toys. Definitely recommend checking out!!
Angela S — Google review
Today, 2/13/17, was my first trip to Ollie's, and I'm glad I finally went. The store definitely isn't anything fancy. But with all the merchandise available at cheap prices, the store doesn't have to be fancy. I'm guessing the majority of the merchandise might be discontinued items, but I'm not sure. However, there's a ton of stuff to check out!
John G — Google review
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has some unique discounted items that you might not find anywhere else. The store is a bit like a huge rummage or yard sale. I did not even know this store existed until someone suggested I might find some specific socks I was searching for a birthday gift. I had a bit of trouble understanding the layout of the store. They do offer a discount card and points. The cashier was friendly, but there was not a lot of personnel within the store.
Angela B — Google review
Never know what you'll find, that's the fun in going. Always lots of candy. That bottle of lotion you've been looking for everywhere...found it shoved in the back of a shelf, for half the price! Score 😁 They always have the Seen on TV products and lots of sheets, comforters, pillows and cute home decor. Even home improvement items. Yesterday, 5/21/18, there was a slew of summer patio tables, chairs and even umbrellas. Worth a look. It's not easy to get through with a cart, so be prepared to go slow but if you're looking for good deals, you want to go slow.

Value City Furniture is a well-established chain that offers an extensive selection of both classic and contemporary furniture, along with home decor items and mattresses. Shoppers have praised the store for its efficient service, allowing them to browse freely without feeling pressured by sales staff. Many customers appreciate the knowledgeable assistance provided by team members like Chad Green, who take the time to answer questions and explain options in detail.
I've been in furniture stores where it takes 1/2 hour or more to process paperwork for my order. My salesperson, Alex, was efficient and took care of my furniture purchase quickly. I was not followed around the store by anyone pointing out features or trying to help me find what I want, but rather I browsed freely on my own. It was a good shopping experience. The quality of the dining set I settled on is good; solidly built of all wood. There were many chair/seat combinations to choose from with it.
Brenda B — Google review
We visited several furniture stores today searching for a new sectional and didn’t find anything we truly liked until we walked into value city. They had a lot of great options in an insane amount of color options and they were all fair priced. Ken assisted us with our purchase and we truly felt like he cared about assisting us in making the right decision for our household rather than just making a sale. Our toddler was getting a bit impatient (as toddlers tend to do) and Ken was amazing with not pressuring us into a sale just to get us and our toddler out of the store. Was one of the best experiences we have had in a long time purchasing furniture. Very excited to get our couch in a few weeks!
Ashley H — Google review
Robyn, my sales associate, was helpful and polite while I was shopping at the Flint, Miller Rd store. After purchasing a power recliner couch for $2,500 I discovered that the remote control had not been included. The owners manual, provided to me by Value City Furniture, confirmed that this couch does include a remote control. After multiple phone calls with the Flint Michigan, Miller Rd Value City Furniture store I was told by my sales associate Robyn and the store manager that the remote control for this couch was missing when it was delivered to the store. When I asked if the missing part could be ordered they told me no and didn't offer any explanation as to why. I even offered to pay for the missing remote control but they told me they could not order it for me. After some research (less than 5 minutes on Google) I myself was able to identify the manufacturer of the couch. I called them and they confirmed (as did the owners manual) that the couch I purchased from Value City Furniture at 4577 Miller, Rd in Flint, Michigan does include a remote control. I should emphasize that this remote control provides functionality and control of features that cannot be adjusted otherwise. So, in order for all features and functions of the couch to be utilized the remote control is required! I also confirmed with the manufacturer that Value City can purchase a replacement remote control for the couch. UPDATE: A few months have passed now and I have purchased 3 more pieces of furniture for my home. I chose NOT to purchase them from the Miller Rd, Flint Michigan Value City Furniture store because of how staff and management there handled or rather mishandled the situation with my missing remote control. A quick call to corporate or less than 5 minutes on Google would have yielded a phone number to call and order the missing remote control. That in-turn would have maintained a positive customer experience and relationship that ultimately would have brought me back to the store to spend another $3,000 plus on more furniture. That would have also resulted in this being a much more positive review. Would of, Should of, Could of.

Purchased a couch and love seat 09/24. Did not get delivered till 11/24. Both items were damaged. Delivery driver said "you will most likely never get perfect furniture." I refused the love seat as it was heavily damaged. I took the couch with a small stain in the leather and they were supposed to have some one come correct it and give me a small discount. Got the discount but no one came out. They called twice after to extend my delivery date on the love seat. At that point I canceled and wanted a refund. We scheduled a pick up date which I had to reschedule cause something came up. Moving forward to today. They have now, no call no showed on 3 different pick up dates and just rescheduled to 05/17/25 and they will not issue a refund till they have the item in their possession. I have talked to one decent costumer service rep out of the probably 15 different people I have had to speak with.

Tracey and Tre were very professional and fast with setting up our sofa sectional. They were careful placing each piece on our hard wood floor and they left no debris behind. They asked about placement preferences and were careful to test the recliner so it wouldn’t hit our wall. These two young men were strong and even funny! Our furniture delivery was a very pleasant experience. Thank you.

Mari’s expertise shines through as she guides shoppers through various mattress options while also assisting in selecting suitable pillows.
Kevin was our sleep expert/salesman. He was great to deal with, helped load up our mattress no problem. He answered our questions, gave recommendations while still giving us space when it came to us trying mattresses out. Also matched our energy and made it a mellow experience, instead of being pushy and trying to up sale us. We gave the price point we wanted to stay under and that’s what he did. Professional and friendly, hopefully a name dropped review is recognized for him and beneficial (aka $$$). Because I would not have left a review if it wasn’t for him.

Kevin provided excellent assistance in helping me find a pillow that met my needs. I have problems with the discs in my neck and he listened when I described the issues I was having. He made sure we found a bed with a mattress similar to mine to test pillows on and enthusiastically brought pillow after pillow to me to try. Excellent products and Outstanding customer service! This is the 4th bedding store I have been to and happy recommend Mattress Firm and this location.

Kevin was very professional and thorough. Since we didn’t have much time to look, only had a 1/2 hour, Kevin did an excellent job of showing us the mattresses, explaining the features and benefits, all within that short time. He made it very easy to buy!

It would be great if it didn't take 2+ months to get my work shirts that I PAID FOR and NEED. My job has a deal set up with flint city t shirts and we have to order our work shirts through them. We get sweaty at work and having a clean shirt each day is vital. I know many of my coworkers are also unhappy about how long it takes, especially since the website we use says we will receive our order in just a couple weeks. It feels like we are not a priority to flint city t shirts. But isn't guaranteed business the most valuable business? Some of my coworkers say they never receive their orders and some have had unfriendly experiences with the owner when they have stopped in, called or emailed about their orders. And some of these interactions were before the hectic Covid situation. If flint city t shirts can't handle a large amount of orders, then they need to admit this to their customers, so they can find a more reliable source. Hopefully one day we can convince our company to get a new t shirt company, we are trying!

This charming store features a stunning array of handcrafted jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, and rings designed with care right in Flint. For years I've wanted to have my wedding ring re-set. I was referred to Walter by my stylist. Upon our initial meeting, he took the time to listen to the ideas I had. We looked at pictures together and he provided his ideas and expertise. Walter provided updates during the process and in a few short weeks, my ring was complete! I can not recommend Walter enough!!! His work is beautiful!!
Tanya R — Google review
My husband bought me a ring for my birthday from Flint Trading Co. The ring was beautiful but didn't quite fit, and my husband told me Walter had said I could come in and have it sized. When we brought the ring into the store, there were beautiful creations and gems. While we were chatting, I noticed a gorgeous tanzanite, and we ended up deciding to add it to the ring design! The result is a stunning and original ring that fits perfectly. Walter was kind, collaborative, and great to work with. Great experience, I'll definitely be back!

Walter is fantastic. I was in a tight spot running to get last minute, and I mean last minute, supplies for my best friends surprise proposal. He came in on his day off in no time at all to help me out. He was so kind and considerate and got me the box I needed for the proposal. Not to mention how lovely all the jewelry in the shop looked. You can really see all the love and effort he puts into his work. I recommend Flint Trading Co for any jewelry need.

I worked with Walter extensively on a jewelry remake - turning a dated necklace into a beautiful and timeless ring. He did an amazing job with the communication and design. I would recommend him to anyone, and will absolutely come back (virtually as I’m in Texas) for future projects!

Flint trading company is a great place to have unique jewelry created for not only yourself but also family or significant others. Walter took the time to take my concerns and thoughts into his design. Walter took inspiration from artwork created by my significant other while creating the jewelry.

Cannot recommend Flint Trading Co. enough, whether you're looking to peruse the beautiful jewelry available for sale (as well as the wonderfully scented candles and other art pieces), or seeking advice and help getting a custom piece. Walter helped my fiance get me a beautiful and unique engagement ring as well as a matching wedding band, ensuring that the diamonds matched and everything was sized well. He takes into consideration budget and taste, going above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied. So grateful to have Walter and Flint Trading Co. in our community!

Flint Trading Co. curates special treasures and should definitely be a stop if you need a gift (or treat) in the Flint area. I purchased a pottery artifact at one of their recent exhibits, and the owner put so much care into the process. He honored the pieces of ancient art. The market is also a popular venue for community events such as yoga sessions, festivals, concerts and entertainment.

The Flint Institute of Arts is a stunning museum that houses an extensive and diverse collection of European and American art dating back to the 15th century. Visitors can enjoy learning about different cultures while admiring ancient art from around the world. The glass gallery, in particular, is a highlight with glassblowing demonstrations available to watch.
My first visit to the Flint Institute of Arts Museum was a fantastic experience. The highlight for me was the documentary on Martin Luther King Jr. and the FBI—it was incredibly informative and thought-provoking. The event was even more enjoyable with live music and a delicious dinner, making for a well-rounded and engaging evening. The atmosphere was great, and I had a lot of fun. I’ll definitely be attending again!

It's wonderful. The glass blowing demonstration is educational and fun! Many great items and not many people, which makes a great place to enjoy arts.

This is a surprising gem to find in the city of Flint. The FIA is truly an amazing oasis filled with stellar exhibits. The entrance fee is quite reasonable. If this museum were bigger its only local rival would be the Detroit Institute of Art. The one thing this place has that Detroit does not is an adjacent section dedicated to blowing glass. I think its worth the drive from the Detroit area to visit and I believe this is the areas newest modern museum.
Harold P — Google review
A gem of an art museum! For a small town, this is an incredible art museum. The variety of exhibits the day we visited, the incredible quality of various sculptures dispersed throughout the building, and even a life glass making demonstration made for a very memorable visit. The standard that this art museum presented was a very pleasant surprise! Definitely worth your visit if you’re around the area and looking for an enriching experience!
Arin S — Google review
We went to see the “Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration” exhibit, which was great and fun for the whole family. We didn’t know that they had an ongoing glass blowing presentation by the UM-Flint students, so we were all delighted to sit through their expressive performance. Had a wonderful afternoon. Will come back again.

Such a nice museum, loved the exhibits which are very inspiring and intricately put together. Visited on a weekend and the entry was free. My go to! I always find great deals and quality items. The lines can be a bit long at check out but not bad overall.

They have a pretty good selection of clothes. We heard they were having a big clearance sale so I took all the kids. It was supposed to be up to 70% off, but we were not impressed. My daughter found a cute pair of shorts....$25(that was their clearance price). My sons found nothing of interest so they just wandered around for a while. Nothing super special. When they do have a big clearance, it is nice with the extra discount. If you aren't worried about your budget, then they do have nice clothes and some name brands.
Christy B — Google review
So really like Kohls stuff however why do they need to be cheap ??? I received a 20% off coupon for total purchase so great I go buy some shoes and the lady at register says "oh that coupon is brand eligible" like seriously????? What a joke I am very disappointed in Kohls and will not be back to shop there. But if I would have received a real coupon I would have been stoked and probably went back but I will not go back.
Jason S — Google review
They give coupons to be used same day then you get to the register and the coupon doesn’t work for anything you bought, then she put in my 15% military discount and still again nothing I got qualified…..false advertisement. You have military discount signage everywhere and it’s very misleading how it excludes name brand products but literally everything in the store is a name brand. They rope you in with discount signage then none of the discounts even work on any of the products.
Jamie W — Google review
Overall, this is a very nice store. It was scaled down from what it used to be, especially in the home goods section. The women's section had a nice variety of summer dresses, tops, and pants, which was the purpose of my shopping trip.
Amy W — Google review
The parking on the left side of the building is almost useless since the doors are always locked with a sign saying to go to the opposite doors. This was extremely frustrating since I used the handicapped parking space. I went this particular time to return something from Amazon. There are typically quite a few people waiting to get in when they open. A lady cut in front of me to get to the return first. Luckily there was an extremely nice lady working the Amazon return and saw what happened and helped me first. When my wife and I shopped here in the past, it was well kept, and stocked, with a lot of good deals. Prices have risen in the world and unfortunately the quality deals Kohl’s once had are diminishing. The staff wasn’t very pleasant so my family stopped shopping at this location. The parking lot is pot hole hell and it feels as though this location has just been ignored for any upgrades other stores have gone through. I have 2 stars because of the courteous lady at the Amazon return. I would stay away from this location and go to another Kohl’s for returns and shopping. But if you do go here, park on the Lennon Road side as those are the doors that are open.

Macy's has a decent selection of items. They are quite higher in price but if you go during friends and family, or have a percent off all items , you can get great deal. Always find the greatest deals! My granddaughter loves the cashier who's been there for a while. She is super friendly!

Very easy to shop here for every member of the family, usually ladies dept is the most organized and childrens and mens are mid-that wasnt the case. Nice and neat, only draw back is there are fewer fitting rooms and open registers than would be more helpul for better shopping experience.

I have Always loved shopping @Burlington until the last few recent times I stopped in (Dearborn, MI) the line was Sooo extremely long I decided to just leave I didn’t have the time or patience to wait almost an hour in line to checkout!😡 And actually I do hope they get it together because u can almost always find a good deal @Burlington & they have pretty much everything except groceries so it’s like an “All-In-One” kinda place❤️

In utter shock as I write my review… Are you a mother that has toddlers? Do you use a stroller to put your toddlers in it so you can shop peacefully? Well, if you are then, please do not walk into this location. I was personally victimized there today and targeted for no good reason other than the fact that I am pushing a double stroller with my kids in it. I am a very regular customer and I always shop at Burlington as I love their Products. But after today’s experience, I will not be stepping another foot in there and it’s all due to the way I was treated today. After walking into the big fitting room with a stroller and my items, I had to walk back in again after bringing more stuff in and taking some stuff out. They had locked that room before I walked in again, and then the lady had Told me that I am not allowed to bring in my stroller, and after I told her that I will not be walking into the fitting room without my kids outside without my stroller, she said that she would call a manager to come see if I can bring in the stroller, they sent in another person to walk me in to the room and the other person had told me it’s OK to bring in the stroller and she took a look at my items and she was fine with me bringing everything in with me. And as I’m getting changed inside, The manager at that time starts knocking down at my door as if she is a cop, I open the door and I look very confused and then I see both of the manager and that lady that had told me that the stroller wasn’t allowed to go into the room the first time both staring inside my room left and right trying to figure out what’s going on inside. I got the hint that both of them think that I’m stealing something so I open the door fully for them both to walk in and take a look at it as I tell them “ Do you wanna take a look?” They surely say yes, and walk in, and I explain to them what each of my piles were for. They decided to take the pile of “Yes” that I had made outside, and they decided to take the pile of “No” that I made outside. I literally continued to say, ?can I now finish trying on the rest of my clothes?” And after they walked out, I tried the rest of my clothes on, when I stepped outside, they were both standing in front of the door, waiting for me to walk out, and when I asked where the clothes that I wanted were at, they said that they placed them all at the register and that if I wanted them, I can go there and get them. This is all happening in front of customers, while the lady is looking down at my stroller, I got the hint that she wanted to take a look at it so I started showing her my bags and I was asking her if she wanted to search them and sure enough she said yes, and she started opening my babies, diaper bags and snack bags to make sure there’s nothing inside them. I was in shock. I then told her that this shirt that I tried on I would like to get it. And she took it for me and said she will take it to the rest of the clothes that they sent at the register as if I wasn’t allowed to hold anything with me? I honestly felt speechless and enraged. As all of this was happening my little daughter looked up at me and said “mom why were they looking at your bag?”… I literally had no answer for her, and I myself had no answer either. See in good businesses if you figure out that someone is acting suspicious in your store, you check the cameras first and then you go and you treat it right, in this case nothing about this was done right or professionally, and I just felt attacked for no reason, I ended up going and buying $134 Worth of clothing and I left the store. And the whole time I was in line, I was getting the weirdest looks by different workers because I’m sure they have paged each other. This was not at all OK, so if you are a mom with a stroller, please save yourself the humility And do not go in there with your stroller and kids, because you will be targeted. What kind of a world do we live in right now? This is an absolute abomination. Very disappointed.

I purchase a pair of boots the lady at the Register Ariele lost the ticket that was on the boots. They were priced at 13.98. We both stood there for 5 minutes trying to find the tag that magically disappeared. She the tells me that she has to charge me 25 because it was written on the bottom of the boot. 😳 I was a little upset because she lost the tag after removing it. I was in a hurry to get out of the store because it was so hot in there. So i paid and left. Got to my car tried on the boots and hated them. Not even a hour later I took them back. She refused to give me my money back stating they were dirty. I had the on for less than 5 minutes. Went back to the store this morning to speak to someone else only to find out she rang them up as a dress so now im being told i never paid for them. THIS IS THE MOST SCAMMING SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. THE STORE ACTUALLY SCAMMING ME OUT OF MY MONEY. FROM THE MOMENT SHE LOST THE TAG I SHOULD HAVE SAID NO. PAID TWICE AS MUCH FOR BOOTS I CANT EVEN WEAR! BURLINGTON NEEDS TO HIRE BETTER PEOPLE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL ME OR ANYONE I KNOW BE SHOPPING AT A STORE RAN BY SCAM ARTISTS!

They are knowingly selling damaged product. I took the sales tag off of a scalp remedy treatment from them and the bottom had a huge hole that they were covering with the price tag sticker. It is very deliberate and you can tell. 10/10 do not recommend. They are a SCAM. There was an older Caucasian lady( maybe manger or gm ) there, she was very rude to the staff. Overall, not friendly at registers kind of condescending, and knowingly selling damage product.

Wide variety. Priced fair. Security assures you of your safety. Slightly unorganized, but the potential is there.
