Aquarium
Nature & Parks
The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, situated within the Okinawa Ocean Expo Park, is among the world's largest aquariums. Originally established for the 1975 world fair, this area underwent redevelopment to boost tourism. The Churaumi Aquarium, which opened in 2002, replaced an existing smaller aquarium. The park also hosts events like the Cherry Blossoms Festival and Flower Festa.
I visited Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium and found it absolutely worth seeing. The highlight for me was the massive manta rays gracefully gliding through the water—truly spectacular and mesmerizing. As for the whale sharks, they didn’t impress me as much because I’ve previously swum with whale sharks in Cebu, but first-time visitors would still find them impressive. The aquarium features a wide variety of unique and unusual marine creatures, making the visit both surprising and educational. It’s a great experience for anyone interested in marine life. The only downside was the aquarium’s restaurant, where the food was mediocre and overpriced, but this didn’t significantly affect the overall experience. Overall, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is a must-visit spot in Okinawa. Whether you’re with family, friends, or alone, it offers a wonderful opportunity to get up close with marine creatures. The manta ray display, in particular, is truly unforgettable.

Mid-level aquarium, definitely not Japan’s best. Have enjoyed many others far more. Skip the car queues and head for carpark P9 which has multiple levels and heaps of parks. Still within walking distance. The best parts of the aquarium are free and located outside the building itself. Inside is super crowded and lacked flow from one exhibit to the next. Dolphin show outside was probably the most entertaining. Nice views across the ocean though…
Life's A — Google review
A little overpriced for what it offers, but probably because it’s more tailored towards children. Still, if I was a child I’d be lost in the dream world. We enjoyed the free parking, and the amenities of the park around it, but I would recommend hydrating before because every vending machine we saw was sold out. The lines were short, despite the crowds being deep. I lived in Atlanta Georgia USA, and the whale shark here reminded me of how massive and majestic they truly are. The grounds around the aquarium offer so much more, and the staff is quite accommodating and kind.
Michael R — Google review
Highly recommended! This aquarium is suitable for all ages, with an abundance of marine life and a well-planned visitor flow. You can see the famous whale shark here, and parking is super convenient! I recommend parking in P7; it's close to the entrance and has shade.
KE-HAO C — Google review
The wait to get into the parkade probably took 30mins, wife got tickets online while waiting so we didn't have to wait in line for tickets. If you're hungry, the lunch buffet is pretty decent, good variety. The cafe inside the aquarium is very busy and packed, when we went there was some food trucks as well but it was raining. The aquarium itself was great, very informative, very cool, and lots of variety. A lot more time to see the rest of expo park with the dolphins, the show, the sea turtles, the cultural area, observatory, beach, etc. we spent 2 hrs just inside the aquarium
Julian L — Google review
If you're looking for a valid reason to rent a car in Okinawa, here it is. It took us about two hours to drive from the rental car parking lot in Downtown Naha, and the second half was a scenic coastal drive with sneaky traffic lights that were positioned horizontally. The aquarium parking structure was huge, so we had no trouble finding a space. Admission was ¥2,180 per person which was less than $15, a good deal considering how expansive the aquarium was over four floors. It features one of the world's largest tanks called the Kuroshio Sea which holds almost two million gallons of water. Gigantic whale sharks and manta rays dominated the tank, but there were also thousands of fish of different species swimming around them with nary a care. There was plenty of marine flora and fauna to examine in smaller individual tanks. The aquarium's specialties include deep-sea species like salamander sharks that live at depths of over 2,000 feet. We missed the dolphin show, but life isn't perfect. A two-hour visit is probably sufficient for most visitors unless you're some fish fanatic. Not us though. We prefer our fish sashimi style. Too tacky? Sorry.
Ed U — Google review
The Aquarium is very big and shows an amazing number of fishes and other animals from the sea. To see a whale shark is very impressive, definitely! But I don’t believe the shark is happy in the tank. Even the tank is big for all the other fishes and mantas, for the whale shark is a small cage. This fish is swimming 100s of km every day, in the aquarium he circles only… Also the sea turtles live in a too small cage, they almost have no space to swim without touching each other. Even is a beautiful place to go, I feel it’s time we give these animals much more space or we should be prison them in too small cages… (just my opinion)
Thomas M — Google review
Most beautiful aquarium i have ever seen in my life 😍 the size of the big aquarium is judt mind blowing. Seeing the big sharkwhale swimming around is mesmerizing to watch! Next to that the aquarium has thousands if different fish and sea creatures to see, explore and learn more about! Definitely recommend everyone to go here!

Ocean Expo Park

National park
Ocean Expo Park is a popular tourist destination in Okinawa, Japan. It features the impressive Churaumi Aquarium, which is one of the largest aquariums in the world. The park also boasts a beautiful beach, lush botanical gardens, and an open-air museum showcasing Okinawan culture. Originally developed for the 1975 world fair, the area underwent redevelopment to attract tourism after years of limited use following the fair.
The place is very big. Have theatre for dolphins show. Have turtle SANCTUARY, Manatee Sanctuary, nice beach for chill out. And Very impressed with the whale shark swimming in the aquarium. It's been there for 30 years. The aquarium is informative. Many sea creatures as well. Worth for a visit. Remember to watch the dolphins show.
Desmond L — Google review
Generally good but too many facilities and spaces are now barred. The other side of the park has few people to visit and I would really love to see more kinds of sea creatures here! Also a bit too crowded :(
Felix Y — Google review
This is undoubtedly one of the best aquariums on the island and a must-see whether you're stationed here long-term or just visiting. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, offering an engaging and educational look at a wide variety of marine life—including some truly rare and awe-inspiring species. Keep in mind, it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends and holidays, so I highly recommend arriving early to avoid the rush and enjoy a more relaxed experience. There’s ample parking available, but be prepared for a fair amount of walking throughout the facility—comfortable shoes are a good idea.
Abigail M — Google review
I really love this place, there is a lot of special creatures, unfortunately I missed the dolphin show, but I still have a great time to watch sea turtles and all sorts of marine creatures. If I live here, I’ll probably buy the annual pass.
Anson — Google review
The indoor aquarium is very impressive, but I found the manatee and sea turtle pools very sad to look at, no vegetation, no toys, some were lucky to have a rock.
Jonáš S — Google review
Relaxing, enjoyable, beautiful, and the sea life was great - especially if you like sharks and dolphins. Very affordable. Plenty to do for free. Plenty of parking.
Will S — Google review
Love this place! A must see in Okinawa. Expect to spend a few hours here and be immersed in all the marine and underwater life without going to the water.
Cindy G — Google review
There are many sightseeing points, and the best part is that the Okichan dolphin show is free to watch. Parking is free, and the show is free. If you want to see dolphins and explore the ocean more, you can go to places like Churaumi Aquarium. It’s a bit complicated when there are a lot of people, but the space is large and people tend to only gather during times when there are a lot of people. Okichan is cute.

Nakijin Castle Ruins, located in the northern part of Okinawa's main island, is a UNESCO World Heritage site that offers a glimpse into the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom. Dating back to the 13th century, these ruins boast impressive castle walls and are known for their historical significance. The site provides insight into castle construction techniques of the time and showcases the power and authority of its former owner, the king of Hokuzan.
Our first tour in Okinawa. Our tour guide was amazing and well worth the cost. The castle grounds are beautiful and the walls are amazing. Don’t forget to go to the museum, too. Thank you to the staff. Very knowledgeable, professional and personable. Go early and avoid the crowds. When we arrived at there at 0900 and shared the castle with approx 10 people.

Visiting the Nakijin Castle Ruins was like stepping back in time. Perched on a hill in the northern part of Okinawa, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers not only a glimpse into Ryukyu history but also some of the most breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and sea. We arrived on a sunny morning and were immediately captivated by the expansive stone walls — rugged yet majestic, winding across the hillside like a fortress from another world. Walking along the ancient pathways, we could feel the energy of a bygone era. The ruins are beautifully preserved, and though there’s not much of the original wooden structures left, the foundations and stonework speak volumes. The atmosphere here is peaceful and spiritual. It’s easy to understand why this was once a sacred and strategic site. From the higher vantage points, we were rewarded with sweeping views of the East China Sea, lush greenery, and the remnants of the castle layout. There are helpful signboards with historical information, and the walk is manageable for most, though those with mobility issues might find some parts challenging due to uneven stone paths. Overall, Nakijin Castle Ruins was a highlight of our Okinawa trip — a perfect combination of culture, nature, and quiet reflection.

Beautiful, serene castle ruins. Plaques around the site had information in several languages (Japanese, English, Korean and possible Chinese). Cute gift shop and air conditioned Rest Area with toilets.

Peaceful castle ruins. Located atop a hill, so it opens up to some beautiful coastal views. There’s a small museum too- though not particularly interesting
Frank Y — Google review
Must visit when in Okinawa, the view up there is just beautiful. I have visited during sakura season and the blooms added to the charm of the ruins.
Armida A — Google review
A small version of the great wall of china. Sadly there is no castle to view. Only broken walls. But nonetheless it provide a good view of the sea from the ruin.

Nice quick stop to see this historic site. Very well maintained, plenty of parking. Entry fee 700 yen. Trails well marked. Nice pottery shop at the turn from the main road.
Aida Z — Google review
One of the 9 UNESCO cultural heritage sites in Okinawa. All the Okinawan castle ruins look very much the same so you could skip this one if you have visited other castles like Katsuren or Nakagusuku. The site is beautiful and is worth visiting if in the area for its views. Judging by other’s people’s photos this place is beautiful when visited during the cherry blossom season.

Okashigoten Nago Branch is a unique facility resembling a theme park, offering a delightful array of candies made at their own factory. The store provides the original 'Ganso Beni-imo Tart' and 'Brown Sugar Chocola Toloru' for sale by piece or box. The dino park on-site offers an exciting experience for kids, featuring stairs and slopes through a jungle setting with roaring dinosaurs.
Took my son here for his birthday and he absolutely loved it! The trails really felt like you were in the jungle. It isn’t a very long trail and I wish it were a little bigger but it was really fun to see all the Dino’s and the views are absolutely amazing! Cute gift shop, and place to take pictures. Worth the drive for sure.
Nicci L — Google review
Fun for everyone, whether you'll be visiting the dinosaurs or just stopping by for souvenirs and snacks. The on-site ice cream shop serves Blue Seal, too. Beni-imo tarts are the traditional thing to buy, but we prefer the almond crisps -both are easy stocking stuffers / gifts for groups.

Dino Park was super fun and BEAUTIFUL! This was an easy trail like adventure. I went with my aunt, kiddos, and infant. There are some parts that are rocky so I’d make sure you’re wearing sturdy shoes. There’s a gift shop and ice cream. Easy parking. No strollers allowed.
Tina S — Google review
The Dino Park is a great experience. We spent a few hours here. The dinosaurs are realistic looking and the views from the park are wonderful. There is plenty of free parking available on site. If you look around, you can find many animals and flowers throughout the area. I would recommend checking this place out.

If your kids like Dinosaurs, this place is a must see! Fun for all ages, adults too! The scenery is captivating. This place has great attention to detail giving you the feeling your in Jurassic Park! They even play the theme song! Bring close toed shoes. And bug spray. Not stroller friendly, many steep hills and stairs. Beware one dinosaur sprays water!
Kenny L — Google review
A great place for kids who love dinosaurs. This 'rainforest' has lots of stairs and slopes where baby strollers are not allowed. The entire experience in the jungle with the dinosaurs (plus their roaring sound) was way beyond what kids can get out of the books. My little one was fascinated to 'meet' the dinosaurs up close. Towards the end of the park there's a souvenir shop where you can buy local Okinawa snacks and food.
Sorlo S — Google review
Something fun to do in the weekend for the kids comparatively speaking it's rather inexpensive. However it only takes about 30 minutes for the entire park. I rather enjoyed the dinosaurs that have sensors so they move when you get close
Harlem N — Google review
Adult ¥1000. Kids ¥600. Lots of things broken and out of order. Needs a lot of maintenance. 6 and 8 year old did enjoy it but Pineapple park’s dinosaurs are in better condition. Expensive souvenir shop has lots of toys and stuffed animals.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Was on Thursday night when we visited. Carpark was full but got lucky & parked nearby entrance to a nice supermarket, well stock & checkout was fast despite the crowds. Also bought bakery stuff: buns, breads, etc. Then after 8 pm, it was half priced. There is a Blue Seal near the supermarket checkout.
John T — Google review
Many different shops and types of shops under one roof. Baby changing centre is a bit old, but it works. There's also a supermarket too.
Keith ( — Google review
It is unfortunate that this mall is slowly killing the remnants of local business but it is a decent one stop location for almost everything you need. The supermarket is good and the range of shops and food in the mall is very good along with an okay arcade etc. The restaurants on the 2nd floor are both not very exciting or particularly good but they are convenient and currently not busy. It is nice to be on a large mall without it being packed. Definitely worth visiting for shopping or an easy afternoon out of the spring/summer heat.
Daryl S — Google review
This mall has plenty of parking. The food court lacked good options mostly beef but no chicken places. Lots of wireless company options and a few different stores
Jeremy P — Google review
A smaller Aeon comparing with some other Aeon at Okinawa. Still good selection of foods and a good supermarket.
Hao T — Google review
Outdated mall with unappealing shops and low quality products. More suitable for locals than tourists. Daiso and Aeon supermarket anchor the place. You can try the Uber flavored ice cream at the Blue Seal ice cream shop. There is a small arcade for kids to play in. The prizes are mediocre. The games are hard to win. No need to play for more than 15 minutes here. The second floor has additional restaurants and food options. You should be able to see the whole place in less than 2 hours.
Tong T — Google review
Typical 2 storeys AEON shopping mall that is smaller in scale. There are a few restaurants, small foodcourt, AEON supermarket and department store etc. 100 yen Daiso store is located on the first floor inside AEON. Free parking where you can park outdoors or indoor at the top.

Quite comprehensive mall, has most necessity and some fashion shopping. They also have a Mister Donut here.

Oshiro Soba is a well-established soba restaurant in Okinawa, popular among locals but often overlooked by guidebooks. During a visit, it was observed that the majority of patrons were locals with few tourists. The restaurant offers medium-sized noodle soups with tender and flavorful meat. Additionally, there is a nearby parking lot available for several cars.
Everything is clean , fast and friendly! Good price , good volume ! High recommended!

Went to this place today for a small snack. I believe in being polite and kind anywhere I go to but off the bat the woman here was very blunt and dismissive. I should point out that I spoke to her completely in Japanese and could (slowly) read the menu, but within 15 seconds she was rushing me telling me to order something and looked visibly pissed off when I asked her for 2 mins to decide. In the end I ordered 5 takoyaki balls (which were on the menu) and she kept insisting I ordered 10 as it was easier for her. Really I wasn't that hungry and she begrudgingly accepted and I waited while having a lovely conversation with a very funny drunk Japanese customer also waiting for her food. Finally the lady gave me my order, except she'd made 10 after all. As she stared at me serious and unamused I knew it wouldn't be worth arguing my case so I paid and left. Only the kind tipsy customer said goodbye and thank you on my way out. Honestly she was the best thing about this place. Probably best to add that I live in Osaka and takoyaki is pretty much the staple there. In comparison this place wasn't bad. Ok food but maybe just not great for foreigners.

(Translated by Google) It's always crowded and I couldn't get into the parking lot, but there was one space available around noon on Saturday so I was able to get in. It seemed like most of the customers were local families. The soba had a mild soup with a strong bonito stock flavor, and the noodles were regular. The lettuce on top was really delicious. It was covered in oil, as if it had been boiled in bonito stock? The sushi had a light, refreshing flavor, and tasted like hijiki rice. It was a simple soba dish that you wouldn't get tired of.

Ufuya is a charming spot nestled in the forest, offering a unique dining experience with its wood-clad dining room and al fresco seating that provides stunning views of waterfalls. The ambiance is enhanced by lush vegetation, small manmade waterfalls, and Koi fish ponds. Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a serene walk down a hill lined with wooden gates leading to the cafe for check-in.
Little bit pricy, but worth it. We had to pick a number and wait for it few minutes. You can get ice-cream in the cafe next door while you're waiting. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere. Some tourists unfortunately are really loud and noisy. The order process is easy and convenient for foreign guests. The food was delicious and the staff was really nice.

I visited Ufuyā (百年古家 大家) and had a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant is located in the mountains, surrounded by a peaceful environment, with a beautifully designed garden. The traditional Okinawan atmosphere is immediately noticeable, both indoors and in the outdoor courtyard, making it a great spot for photos or simply relaxing. The food was quite good, especially dishes made with local ingredients. The flavors were fresh and portions reasonable, allowing you to enjoy both the cuisine and the cultural ambiance. The staff were friendly, making the overall dining experience very pleasant. Overall, Ufuyā is a restaurant that combines beautiful scenery with tasty food, perfect for travelers looking to relax in a mountain setting while enjoying a scenic garden.

The area was very Japanese, everything is very traditional and culturally nice. However, the food is nothing like “wow”. We cannot try their beef cause it sold out too fast online, and cannot order on the spot. Overall experience is okay!

We had some trouble making the reservation, but eventually manage to get one before we leave Okinawa. I am more impressed by the view, traditional buildings and garden than the food. The agu pork shabu shabu is decent and the noodles are really nice. We booked in for 19:30, but didn’t get started until 20:00. We were told last order at 20:15 and then we were rushing to finish the food before 21:00.
Amy W — Google review
Definitely the best restaurant I’ve been to in Okinawa. We went there for a dinner at 5:30 pm, no reservation, and actually the staff was so helpful that we waited around 20min for a table instead of 1hour. I would definitely recommend to do a booking ahead of time. It’s really amazing atmosphere, beautiful garden, surrounded by traditional Okinawa houses kominkas and you can hear traditional music. Food was excellent, we took 1st choice premium selection of shabu shabu pork, and it was really tasty. It was way too much food for 2people so better come with empty stomach ;) Really, high quality waiters, beautiful atmosphere and local premium food.
Wer M — Google review
This is our 4th visit to this restaurant, and the food remains exceptionally good. We made our dinner reservation on their website, which required us to pre-order the menu. We ordered two sets of beef shabu-shabu and three sets of GOKUJYO Agu's shabu-shabu. Each set included assorted appetizers, Agu dumplings, assorted vegetables, and noodles. The set dinner offers great value for money. Additionally, an à la carte menu is available on the spot if you are not full. The restaurant is located in a remote area, requiring a drive to reach it. Since our last visit, the restaurant has been renovated, featuring a larger parking lot and clearer driving directions. The parking lot is located at the hilltop, and it took us around 10 minutes to walk down to the reception area. The nighttime view is fantastic, with water features, lighting, and installations that you can enjoy while walking to and from the parking lot. For the best experience, I recommend booking the semi-outdoor seats to enjoy the views and fresh air. We dined in the indoor dining room, where the air circulation wasn't sufficient for shabu-shabu, even with the windows open.
Alice W — Google review
We feel that it was overrated for the foods. The A-gu pork tasted just like normal pork in a shabu shabu place. Dumpling’s skin was very soft and easily got broken. We booked online for 19:30, but when we arrived, we still had to wait in the waiting room for another 15-20mins before getting seated. After we sat on the table, which is already around 8pm, we finished order online, foods served, while we are eating, waiter came to tell us that it’s time for last order. We just started to eat and didn’t even try all the foods that were on the table, but now we had to do our last order? If that’s their rule, they probably shouldn’t open the reservation for 19:30, especially shouldn’t let people who made the reservation to wait another 15-20mins outside. Recommend for people who come here for the view and the buildings. But if you want to try A-gu Pork, I think you will find a better place with lower price.
Evelyn L — Google review
This is a really interesting and beautiful restaurant experience. They offer reservations, but we weren’t able to scoop one before we went, so we decided to come a bit earlier to assure that we would beat the lunch rush. We got to the restaurant around 10:45, and had a nice scenic walk to the restaurant location, which is in the middle of a garden. When we arrived, we were told to take a ticket and wait for our number to be called. We waited for about 5 minutes and were seated at one of the nicer tables by the waterfall/koi pond. Service was fast, and ordering is done through your mobile phone. We decided to have the lunch shabu shabu. It was a bit pricey, but the Agu pork was delicious, and all the veggies were crisp and fresh. The portion for 2 people is a lot, so we weren’t able to finish all of the food (mainly the carbs - rice and noodles). I liked the two dipping sauces that were given to us for the shabu shabu, but I do wish there was more variance. They also did not serve us 4 of the side dishes that usually come with the set (you can see in other pictures that people have posted of the shabu shabu, we only received the Japanese pickles) and that wasn’t explained, so I was a bit confused. I wouldn’t miss this if you’re staying in northwestern Okinawa, or are making the trip up to sightsee. It was such a lovely experience to have a relaxing lunch surrounded by nature. The restaurant was quickly filled up with tables full of tourists, so I definitely stress getting here early if you cannot get a reservation.

Day 2

Observation Decks & Towers
At Kouri Ocean Tower, visitors can experience breathtaking panoramic sea views from an indoor/outdoor observation deck, which is accessible via a scenic golf-cart ride through lush gardens. The tower also houses two restaurants: Ocean Cafe, known for its authentic Napolitan pizza and tropical fruit-based sweets and drinks, and Restaurant Island Blue, offering Okinawan ingredient-based lunches with stunning ocean vistas.
Beautiful spot with a relaxing self-driving cart experience!Kouri Ocean Tower is definitely worth the visit if you’re in Okinawa. I loved how you get to ride an unmanned electric cart all the way up to the tower—it goes slowly so you can enjoy the beautiful ocean view and take photos along the way. The tower itself is not super tall, but the view from the top is stunning, especially the panoramic look over Kouri Bridge and the turquoise waters. There’s also a shell museum and some cute souvenir shops. Highly recommend trying their pineapple cakes—they’re so buttery and filled with juicy pineapple flavor. One of the best local souvenirs! Easy to access by car and parking is free. The entrance fee is totally worth it since it includes the cart ride. Great for families, couples, or anyone who loves chill spots with a view.
Bel Z — Google review
I always love walking a beach and looking at all the different shells and other things that wash up from the sea. When I heard about this museum I knew I needed to go. This place has 1,500 different shells from all around the world. Some of them I had never seen or heard of before. The layout is very easy to navigate and move around in. As you go up the tower you get a better view of the Kouri big bridge, the longest bridge in Okinawa. There is a nice photo spot at the top of the tower with a scenic overlook.
Michael W — Google review
A fun place to check out the shells with a view. 1000 yen per adult, but you can use KLOOK for a better price. You ride on an automated track where the buggy takes you up. Make sure to face the proper direction for a photo op. There is a dining facility, a souvenir shop and a shell display with gift shop. There is also a 4 story tower for you to get a view and ring the bell as well. If renting a car, parking is very sparse, so go early. Also it is best to back in as much as possible because getting out may be awkward because some drivers didn't back in enough (tourists!). Watch out for the three way intersection nearby, some may think it is a scenic spot to take a photo and block traffic. The souvenier shop has many things related to the pineapple to purchase. While the gift shop has many things related to shells to purchase.
Siu L — Google review
Strange little place but interesting. You'll ride a little self-driving golf cart to get to the tower. The cart winds its way up the hill through a nice little garden. Be alert because just before you get off the cart, there's a camera on the left that snaps a souvenir photo. Inside the tower is an impressive collection of seashells in all shapes, colors and sizes. From there it's up, up, up as you climb the tower to get ocean views. Its a interesting stop if you have time to explore.
Eric C — Google review
Offers an amazing view of the whole island, it's quite inexpensive and there is plenty of floors to take pictures and discover more about the island and the local flora and fauna.
Burabetsu — Google review
Nice views, cute little golf cart tour that takes you to the base of the tower that contains a shell display. There's an elevator that will take you to the top floor or you can take the stairs which I think is faster.
Denise M — Google review
This is an excellent observation spot for sea-loving tourists! It provides a great view of the surrounding land masses and Kouri Island bridge. Plenty of fresh sea breeze and well-decorated gardens. The drive takes about 1.5 hours from Naha town and passes along some scenic coastline roads. If you're self-driving, you can stop along the way for meals or other tour spots such as Dinosaur Park or Pineapple Park. The Kouri tower also houses a beautiful Shell Museum and Island Restaurant with a broad view. The tower itself is accessible via a self-driving autonomous golf cart.
Avril A — Google review
Fun place. We rode the golf carts to the entrance, they take you to the seashell museum, then you go up to the observation tower. Stairs or elevator are available for most of it, but the last level is stairs only.

Neo Park Okinawa is a lasting botanical park and zoo that boasts interactive petting and feeding areas, as well as train rides. It's an ideal outdoor destination for nature lovers who want to immerse themselves in beautiful landscapes while interacting with animals. Guests can purchase 200 feed pellets to hand-feed some of the animals or take a ride on the elevated train for a panoramic view of the park.
The animals here look genuinely happy. They are cared for in an eco-friendly way, making this a great educational experience where kids can interact with them. The most surprising thing is that even when you touch the animals, there’s no smell at all! If you want to enjoy a peaceful forest walk while meeting a variety of animals, this place is highly recommended!
이범석 — Google review
Pure Cruelty If I could give one star, I would! The animals are kept in dirt and in the smallest spaces possible! Pure cruelty! We saw a bird in a little aquarium (?), a gigantic tortoise full of mud and in a small cage, it even had footprints on it?! It looked like someone stood on it? All the birds are kept in little cages, so are the monkeys. Don’t spend your money there, DON’T GO THERE!! We are shocked.
A. M — Google review
Great exhibits including 🐱! I couldn’t use up all my animal feed so I went back to the birds and fed them the rest of the feed. The cats were kinda lazy, but at the end of the park the cats woke up. Btw, I saw an open peacock! You should get more 🐱 and also make another area just for pets. Don’t forget to put more 🐱 items in the gift shop! Also, I recommend to make a tour so people can see the park with a guide. Also, do you have any souvenir clothes? If you don’t, please add them to the gift shop. Also since you have carrots, why don’t you get rabbits? Also, can you make the cat area bigger? This park is infinity stars squared. Anyone who sees this review must come here! I recommend it. Great attraction in Nago, pretty cheap.

Mini zoo with up close encounter and feeding of animals. Great experience. The capybaras inside are very friendly and cute. The park isn't very big, so you can probably have fun for two to three hours. The park is well-maintained and doesn't smell at all despite there are some animals dropping within the compound. There’s a petting zoo for 400¥ per person, totally worth it! There’s a super cuddly black dachshund miniature puppy who will climb onto your lap if you sit down
Eric A — Google review
Highly recommended this place, when entering was greeted by many birds roaming around they are calm and friendly..just be careful when feeding will do :) love that the kids can pet the animals and even carry the Geninue pigs for photography…remember to buy the whole package at the entrance! We came in May, weather is cooling and not much people we had a wonderful time here… love the slow pace and up close with the animals in Neopark Okinawa
Zion T — Google review
Fun place to go with the kids. Kids loved the petting corner, where the played with dogs, fed various cute animals including a capybara! Would give the train ride a miss the next time round though.
Lester C — Google review
Quite a compact zoo with mostly bird population. However it has other animals as well, some of them are ok to pet if you purchased the food.
DK W — Google review
The bird sections of the zoo were quite impressive and well-maintained, offering a pleasant experience for visitors. The aviaries seemed well-kept, and the variety of species showcased was enjoyable to observe. The highlight of the bird areas was definitely the bird show, which was fun to watch and engaging for all ages, with vibrant birds displaying impressive behaviors. However, the petting zoo section fell short of expectations. The animals in the petting areas appeared to be in less-than-ideal conditions, and the enclosures were not as well-maintained as they could have been. This part of the zoo seemed to need more attention in terms of cleanliness and care, which took away from the overall experience. While the birds were a clear highlight and the show added an interactive element to the visit, the disparity between the quality of the bird areas and the petting zoo was noticeable. Despite this, the visit had its enjoyable moments, particularly for those interested in bird species and interactive animal shows. Overall, the bird exhibits stand out, though improvements in the petting zoo would elevate the overall experience.

Mega Don Quijote Nago is a massive store that offers an extensive range of products, from beach clothes and everyday wear to sunglasses, watches, purses, and housewares. It also features a grocery section with cooked food and butchered meats. Known as the discount king of Japan, this place boasts affordable prices on items like food, snacks, car accessories, second-hand designer handbags and watches, pharmaceutical products, and more.
Big discount supermarket for shopping and to get food as well, in Nago. The supermarket selling a wide variety of food and necessities at affordable prices. Ready to eat food will be discounted with a red label to clear stocks at the end of the day. It is also a great place to get food at late nights for supper as well, since it opens until 3am in the early morning. Visited in September 2024.

Amazing! The large selection of items felt slightly overwhelming but once I knew what I needed and where to go, I absolutely LOVED it!! Items are cheap to buy but high quality. The food and drink selection was vast, the toys make a perfect gift for my younger family members, there were suitcases, and suitcase wraps. The location was easy to get into and plenty of parking. We will definitely be back again!

Big Supermall to shop for your groceries and foods items. Good selection of items. Plenty of car parking available. The cooked foods selection was impressive and many items were on offer. Shops was well organised and tidy. You can spend a few hours shopping inside the mall. Its crowded during meal time.

This store literally has most everything you can think of. The pictures I took are mainly of the seasonings and miscellaneous food items they have. At this location you can find beach clothes, everyday wear, sunglasses, watches, purses, housewares, and random odds and ends. There's a grocery section where you can find cooked food as well as butchered meats. Overall, it's a great place to stop in to see with everyone in the family. It's easy to get disoriented with the maze of aisles here!

Selling many products at cheap prices ranging from mostly foods to personal use items. Sometimes, can find great buys at offer. However, the layout of items at shelves can be a little messy and tight spaces to walk around. It is surprising to see desserts such as cake slices available. Also there are a wide varieties of Don Quijote souveniers for sale.
LJ T — Google review
Had quite the assortment of items here and I found alot of neat stuff! I was able to find some Pokémon items that the Pokémon Center did not have! Fast and kind service as always! Was able to find alot of travel related items such as a Snorlax neck-pillow.
Brooklyn S — Google review
This Don Quijote, despite being called 'Mega', is quite modest in its selection and is distinctly a budget store. It is less hectic than the mainland counterparts but it is just as crammed with stuff and difficult to navigate. Staff are helpful and welcoming but many shelves are half stocked and it seems to be focused on the most budget and low quality versions of things when compared to other DQ's. The toys and character merchandise section is incredibly limited but the food section, especially the meats, is quite impressive. Not the typical DQ experience but given the AEON mall across the street, it does actually have a distinct set of items rather than massively overlapping with the mall. They also have an invasive species of beetle present outside of the building which they need to report to local authorities for extermination.

Good selection of local souvenirs. They have food section with prepared food, meat, veggies, fridges etc

Okinawa Fruits Land is a delightful family-friendly destination that invites visitors, especially children, to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of tropical fruits native to Okinawa. This unique attraction offers an engaging experience through interactive games and puzzles that educate young minds about local produce. Beyond the fruit-filled adventures, guests can also enjoy interactions with adorable animals like parrots and goats, making it a perfect spot for animal lovers.
It is a beautiful place. If I work here, I most probably come to work in a happy mood everyday. I got a badge even though I missed out two stamps as the kind lady told me not to worry.

Nice place to go with kids to learn about tropical fruits. It is a large place, your kids can do physical activities like ringing bells or walking a long. You may be able to get discount coupons for lunch buffet.
Huyen V — Google review
Didn't have kids with us but I still had a blast to go with a group of young adults. It was a fun interactive educational experience. We were learning about the many different kinds of fruits, most of which, we didn't even know existed. The attractions are in multiple languages so everyone can still read it and have fun, though the stamp machines were mainly in English. Which were really cool to find and use. I can see how it would be bad to wait in line to use them though. It's just a cutesy cheesy experience for us going without kids but I still think it's worth it for the first time. Maybe not multiple visits since the magic of the surprises would be gone. The giftshop at the end gives you a free pin for going through as well. Their snow cones are really great and are served with a scoop of ice cream too.
LevyCake — Google review
A fairy themed farm combining various fruit trees. It’s not a high tech theme park but instead they use simple mechanisms for hiding clues and turn it into a fun experience for kids. The main attraction is to see so many varieties of fruit trees from all over the world. There are no bathroom in the course so it’s recommended to use it at theme parks souvenir store next to the entrance. The bathroom design was interesting with a bookshelf wallpaper at the entrance and colored themes.
Toshi G — Google review
It was very fun, there was lots of stuff to do and a many interactive things to do. You get a stamp paper and a map and its fun. Mostly targeted towards kids but it was a fun date for a young couple.

Me and my boyfriend didn't plan to come here but we ended up to stop by. At first we thought that it was gonna be crowded and only for kids but we enjoyed it. The place was empty when we were there. The ticket is cheaper if you buy it online. The location is right next to Pineapple park.

This was so cute! It seemed like it was more aimed at children, but even as adults we enjoyed it a lot. It was also a longer experience than expected. Even the story we followed was more deep and entertaining that we expected. Ideal for a spontaneous visit if your other plans don't work out or you still have time to spare!

The yakiniku restaurant, 焼肉こうちゃん(名護), offers delicious and affordable pork dishes. It is recommended to make reservations in advance as walk-ins may be turned away. The menu includes a variety of meats and seafood, along with beer, pickles, and other drinks for a reasonable price. Their okinawan rice with seaweed is particularly tasty.
This is an affordable bbq place in the north. Not only was the wagyu and agu pork good, i found the prices extremely palatable, especially for the set. The Value extends to seafood, which was of surprisingly great quality. It is a charcoal grill, which is the best part for me. Nothing beats charcoal grilled, good quality meat. Parking is easy right outside. Please visit if you stay in the north!!!
Sterd F — Google review
The staff were extremely kind. They didn’t speak English but went out of their way to try to help. The meats were very tender and delicious. They had a QR code for their ordering and had an English translated version which helped a lot. Thank you!

Me and my wife stopped in from Pineapple Park. Literally its just across the street. The quality of meats were great. We ate just enough to where we weren't super full. They use real charcoal so you meals have a beautiful char and great smokey flavor. Would recommend if you're up towards Nago area.

Great Wagyu beef, best is the Deluxe Tongue. The rice with scallions and egg is very tasty too. Must book to be sure to have a table.

Delicious, value for money pork yakiniku place. We celebrated a birthday there and made reservations in advance and thankfully we did as after we were seated, some walk ins were turned away. A full spread of meats and seafood with beer, pickles and drinks for 11,121 yen for 5 people can’t be beat! Order their okinawan rice with seaweed, it’s so good we had 2 bowls each.

This Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) is just minutes walk away from Pineapple Park. If you are driving, they have ample parking spaces. Seating arrangement is comfortable and family friendly. The price is reasonable for the quality of meat they offer. They start to get busy after 6pm. A must try if you are in the area!

McDonald's, a well-established and popular fast-food franchise recognized for its hamburgers and French fries, can easily be located in Okinawa with an abundance of parking spaces. This particular McDonald's branch situated in Nago is charming, well-maintained, and offers delicious hot breakfast options. The staff members are incredibly helpful despite having limited English proficiency. Regrettably, they do not have any chili sauce available.
All perfect. The attention is great and surprisingly in Japan, the staff speaks English which is great. Arigatō

Yakiniku restaurant
Izakaya restaurant
Manmi Yakiniku is a top-notch yakiniku restaurant that offers excellent service and a friendly staff. The professional team introduces each cut of meat with great expertise. It's advisable to make reservations in advance as they strictly adhere to timing. The restaurant uses local aguu pork, which has a unique and delicious flavor. While it may be on the pricey end, the quality of the meat makes it worth it. The pork shabu and pork belly yakiniku are highly recommended dishes.
It is a shop where you can enjoy Yanbaru Island pork and Okinawan local cuisine. There are many signs in the store, and it is a popular shop where many celebrities visit. It seems that all of them use only Yanbaru's ingredients, so no matter what you eat, you will feel that you are particular about each dish that is delicious. I came to the store after 20:00 on weekdays, but it was full. It's a very popular shop, so I recommend you to make a reservation in advance. If you go to Okinawa, I think you should definitely go to the store.

The pork and ホルモンyakiniku was fantastic. The roasted pork feet was unique and the ホルモンfried rice is nothing comparable to any restaurants outside. The fried rice infused with the essence of ホルモン, had a perfect balance of chewiness and flavor, with each grain absorbing the rich, slightly fatty notes from the offal. Coming all the way from Australia, we are lucky to have the boss who was very nice teaching us Okinawan dialect. 二へーデービル! :)

The best pork yakiniku! They use local aguu pork which tastes very different than any other pork iv had, let alone Japanese black pork. Best to make reservations ahead as they were really strict with they timing, we arrived early and were told to come back exactly at the time we booked. We had both the yakiniku and pork shabu, everything we ordered was really amazing! Best dishes for me would be the pork shabu, and the pork belly yakiniku. Service was fast but they seemed to be really busy so not super attentive.

A5 was great, pricy but not to bad for what yoy get. Small parking lot with kind service, and al the pork served was top notch. Definently would recommend to come at least once while on island.

Good meat and ambience but on the pricey end. Unfortunately the waiters are not able to converse in any English, some finger pointing on the menu did the trick.
Erik O — Google review
OMG!! It's delicious!! The whole pig is used here in this restaurant, cooked either via BBQ (yakinuki), Shabu Shabu. The combination set allows you to try all 12 cuts of the pig, including innards. What I really liked about the place was that besides the wonderful food, the servers were all ultra professional when it comes to knowing (and teaching) you what you are eating, and rescuing your bbq pieces if they think that you aren't cooking the pieces to bbq perfection. The setting is also homely and feels like you are in your stylish friend's stylish family home. I liked that the bbq is a charcoal based bbq, it does bring out the best in flavors for a bbq. Highly recommend this place, but do book ahead if you can, as it's really busy here.

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Nago, Uehara Soba is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Okinawa soba. This delightful eatery serves up homemade noodles that boast a wonderfully smooth texture, paired with a rich broth made from three types of meat. The unique presentation allows diners to savor each component separately, ensuring an enjoyable experience until the very last bite. On cooler days, there's nothing quite like indulging in their comforting soba.
Stopped by off a whim and really hungry stomachs and was pleasantly surprised! Super yummy soba! The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork belly was really soft and had lots of flavour. Based off the other reviews it can get pretty but came on a Wednesday afternoon and my boyfriend and I were able to get seated right away. Would come back again!

It’s a crowded place for lunch and reservations recommended, else walk-ins will be kept waiting or shown to tables outside. Pork rib noodles was good and well worth the wait as we walked-in and tour groups took priority for tables and food servings. Be aware of an army of fruit flies hovering over the tables and our food, photo evidence attached. Plenty of parking available for cars.

The soba was delicious and there was quite a lot of customers there despite the location. The restaurant was a little dusty and there were some flies inside, but this was not unexpected given this is run by a family from their house!

This Okinawa soba noodle is chewy and soup is yummy. Price is reasonable, environment is clean and dinning area has a forest feel. Customer can enjoy the food with ocean view too. Just the location is a bit inner from town. Recommended restaurant for everyone.

So ba so good! It was a wet chilly day, the kind of day to have soba. We wanted to try the butter grilled fish as well so we ordered it thinking we would only get the fish. The lady was surprised we ordered three sets for only two of us. Imagine our surprise when we received three complete sets and not two sets plus a fish! The fish was good though and the set was not as difficult to finish as we had thought. The potato wedges were still crisp. Needless to say, we were very full! The pork ribs were also very good and the portion was generous.

Nago Pineapple Park is a delightful theme park that immerses visitors in the fascinating world of pineapple cultivation. Here, you can embark on engaging tours and savor delicious tastings, all while enjoying the lush surroundings. The park also features a charming café and a gift shop where you can find unique souvenirs to remember your visit. Nestled in Okinawa's stunning West Coast region, known for its breathtaking beaches and luxurious resorts, this area offers an extraordinary atmosphere reminiscent of tropical getaways abroad.
I kept hearing about pineapple park from various different people so I decided to finally go and visit. I had no idea what I was getting into, but I was not disappointed by any means. I never knew there were so many different types of pineapples and what could be done with them. There were so many different baked goods and drinks with pineapple in them. The cakes are soft and moist and go well with a cup of coffee. The brewery and distillery was the most modern part of the park. The wine is amazing and I definitely recommend getting a bottle or two.
Michael W — Google review
I personally loved this, obviously if you go you can’t take yourself or the park too seriously because it’s a park mixed with pineapples and dinosaurs. It is pretty small so you only need like 2hours if you are stopping and enjoying any of the pineapple treats, maybe like 1 hour if you don’t. I walked up around 4pm and didn’t have to wait in line to get in and there wasn’t many people so I’m not certain how busy this place could get. There are three places they automatically take photos in the pineapple section and yes I bought one for 1000¥, it has classic theme park photo vibes and I love it. I kind of wish I did the dinosaur photos simply for the last photo area, but f you grab a piece of paper from where they sell the pineapple photos there are three areas you scan it and it will take a photo of you. There are a few stops along the way with pineapple food. The first place I had the pineapple float and it was good but not what I would consider amazing. The second area I had a pineapple skewer and I had a perfectly ripe piece of pineapple that was so juicy and sweet that I definitely recommend having one. The next areas were the gifts shops where they give free samples of the items they sell and I would have bought the pineapple cake for my dad if only the best before date was a little longer, unfortunately it was short by a couple days, but I got the cookies I was able to try. After this is the wine room which was my favorite, I think you can have small samples of the wine but I didn’t do that. I went for the 1000¥ wine tasting of three of the wines, my favorite was the red dessert style wine. Over all very enjoyable theme park and if my family ever joins me on a visit to Okinawa I will definitely recommend this
Monica W — Google review
A cute place and definitely fun for kids, but not really exciting for adults. The pineapple theme is everywhere and the self-driving cart is a nice idea, but overall it feels more like a children’s attraction than a real sightseeing spot. Good for families, but you can skip it if you’re traveling alone or as a couple.

This place is an absolute fever dream. If you’ve ever thought ‘I wish there was a place where I could see dinosaur animatronics while trying 5 types of pineapple ice cream’.. PINEAPPLE PARK IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! From a shockingly high quality botanical garden to an upscale pineapple bar, pineapple park will not disappoint. This was one of our most memorable spots on our Okinawa trip.
Hannah D — Google review
Was awesome to visit again (last visit 2010) and experience it with my kids this time. The wine and sweets were as good as I remember them. I liked that it had been added to and wasnt as busy as the other places we had visited.
Brittney P — Google review
We went as four adults. While I am certain this place would appeal especially to adults, we had an awesome time! So much fun. They provided English information, which was helpful. Seeing the pineapples growing everywhere was delightful. Make sure to check out the butterflies and to sample the snacks and liquor. I especially enjoyed the dry pineapple sparkling win. We bought a few kinds of wine and a beautiful cake! We ate in the restaurant and the food was great. Unfortunately I didn’t take many pictures!!
Jill C — Google review
We came here with no expectations and were blown away! If you’re looking for something that is unique and charming, look no further. The production value for 1500 yen is insane considering we got a tour of the pineapple farm on a pineapple train, an automated pineapple buggy ride through a dinosaur forest, and a walking tour of animatronic PINEAPPLE THEMED DINOSAURS!! Super cute how everything kept to the pineapple theme. Not to mention the pineapple popsicles are very refreshing and delicious. Highly recommend for some jolly good fun!

Steak house
Restaurant
Restaurant Flipper is a popular grill joint known for its Okinawa-style steaks with garlic butter and house sauce, as well as pies and coffee. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and is usually very clean. It can get quite crowded, so it's best to visit during off-peak hours to avoid long waits.
The steaks at this restaurant are very tender and juicy. The tenderness of the filet steak is especially surprising. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. Handmade cookies are also available and are very tasty and popular. Since there are only a few products available, they sell out quickly, so it is recommended that you buy them when you find them. The prices are reasonable and very satisfying. (Please note that payment is by cash only.)
Sho N — Google review
The ambience of the restaurant was very nice but unfortunately I was not impressed by the food. We would not have minded waiting for an hour or having to go to the ATM for cash if the food had been more flavorful. The lobster was rubbery and the steak very bland. The prices were rather expensive and it did not live up to our expectations. The best part of the meal was the soup. We did like that the restaurant had traditional dining. We would not return though.
Desiree M — Google review
The restaurant was very clean and had a good atmosphere. We arrived for lunch and waited 2 hours for a table. I was prepared to wait as I had read the reviews that it was a very popular restaurant and well worth the wait. Once we ordered it didn't take more than 10 minutes for the food to come out. I ordered the sirloin and it was okay, but not great. The temperatures they'd cook it at were medium, medium-well, and well done. The homemade sauce added flavor to my steak that I was missing without it. I just wish they would've cooked the steak with more seasoning (salt and pepper).

come here for lunch after 30 min drive fr churaumi. American style deco restaurant. Guided cp is available due to popularity. Waiting list is 30-45 min. Steak is well cooked & tasty. Medium & medium well is clearly differentiated. Not many option to choose but Personally fillet is better thn sirlion. While waiting or after meal, can stroll the beach just in front.

I had such a great meal at Restaurant Flipper in Nago! We didn’t have a reservation but the wait didn’t take too long. The steak and it was perfectly cooked, so tender and flavorful, it honestly melted in my mouth. You can tell they’ve been doing this for years. The whole place has a retro charm, and the staff were super warm and welcoming. Definitely one of my favorite meals in Okinawa! simple, hearty, and just really, really good. Do note that do cash only! We needed a ride back and the staff was kind to help us call a local taxi.
Hazel S — Google review
A traditional Okinawan steakhouse what has been in business well over 50 years. I had the beef tenderloin for lunch — it was well prepared and definitely worth trying. The restaurant is only open during lunch hours and is extremely popular. We arrived about 30 minutes after opening, and there was already a wait of over 45 minutes, so it’s best to come early.
Sam S — Google review
A good place to taste Okinawan steak served on a grill. It follows the Japanese concept of 'Western dish', providing soup and toast with a set of meal. Both sirloin and fillet minion were nice but I prefered fillet minion which was more tender and tasty. You should expect a long queue and very limited parking space. There is a beach with the great sunset right in front of the restaurant.
Ali C — Google review
Nice establishment. English speaking wait staff. Fairly cut-and-dry steak and lobster menu. Wine, tea, and coffee for drink options. My steak was tender and delicious. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her diverse options included in the lunch set. Kids were pleased with their meals as well.

Soba noodle shop
Miyazato Soba is a no-frills restaurant in Okinawa that offers excellent Okinawa-style soba in broth. The menu features about 8 items, with prices ranging from 150 yen to 700 yen. The space is large and offers ample free parking. The establishment provides a unique soba experience compared to the mainland Kanto region of Japan.
I have to give justice to this underrated Soba run by “Ah Ma”. I have ate a few Okinawa Soba in Nago and I have to say this is still the best one. It may look a little ordinary, but the soup is very flavourful and the meat is well marinated. If you are looking for Okinawa Soba, this is definitely worth coming.

Really good food Good price The vending machine was difficult for me to use. The lady there was very kind and helped me with the machine in my meal. Will come back here again. I would say the establishment is foreigner, friendly
Michael E — Google review
Ordering was via the vending machine, and though there’s an option for English, the menu items weren’t translated, so we had to rely on Google Lens for translation. The restaurant offers a choice of pork belly or pork rib with the soba noodles. We decided to try both, and both were great! Here’s what we ordered: - 三枚肉そば ¥800 - そば(小) ¥500 - ソーキそば ¥800 - + トッピング三枚肉2枚 ¥160 For the soba noodles, we had the choice of either pork belly or pork rib, and we decided to try both. The pork rib was a pleasant surprise — it was incredibly tender, unlike the tougher pork ribs in bak kut teh that we get back home. It was a great choice, and we were so glad we went with it. The pork belly, on the other hand, lived up to the high standard expected in this area and was absolutely delicious as usual. The soba noodles were good, and though the portion of meat was a bit smaller (likely due to the low prices), it didn’t detract from the overall experience. The soup was a bit on the salty side for me, but both of my travel mates found it perfectly acceptable. One even commented on the sweetness of the soup, which shows how subjective taste can be.
Joey K — Google review
I did not realise Okinawa soba tastes less like buckwheat soba and more like Chinese egg noodles. The clear broth was the star of the show more than the noodles or the char siew-like 3 layered meat. There ain't a lot of choices too on the menu. +ve: It accepts credit cards, including foreign ones like Visa & Mastercard. -ve: The pork feels tough. If this is what Okinawa noodles taste like, I'll give it a miss.
Clara W — Google review
Traditional Okinawan Soba may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you like it, this place serves high quality Al Dante Soba with subtlely flavoured soup that tastes like homemade meals. This place is full of locals and the food is priced very reasonably. This will be a place I would like to come back to if I have a chance.
Roy H — Google review
Very good Okinawa soba. Soup is rich and flavorful. Noodle has the right texture. Can choose either pork ribs or pork belly. Curry rice also available, but recommend the noodle.

Hearty broth and noodles with soft tender pork. No English menu but first two items on the menu are clearly the most popular. Order from the machine and hand the slips to the staff. Always a good sign when it’s jammed packed with locals

Popular Okinawan Noodle. Pork rib is so tasty. The menu says, Upper: So-ki soba(pork rib noodle), Sanmai soba(pork noodle), Kombu Soba(Seaweed noodle), Soba shou(small pork noodle) Lower: Curry rice, Spaghetti with toast, Rice, Toast

Brewery
Theme park
Orion Happy Park offers guided tours that take visitors through the beer-making process, providing a glimpse of the bottling line and offering tasting sessions. The tour is free and can be booked online, with the added bonus of receiving two complimentary beers. For those driving, there's an option for a non-alcoholic beverage. The park emphasizes sustainability, showcasing its 100% recycling of products produced at the factory. Visitors can also explore displays depicting historical homes and learn about the company's commitment to recycling.
Really, really need to plan ahead to attend the tour. The facility is clean and spacious, but many areas can only be visited with a guide. The restaurant inside is easy but relatively simple. The merchandise shop is great - every Orion-branded thing you could guess, with signature t-shirt styles you can't find anywhere else, and made better quality than you'll find almost anywhere in Okinawa.
Sam K — Google review
As a beer enthusiast, I felt I had to visit Orion Happy Park. I made a reservation in advance and took a 60 km bus ride, but I left with mixed feelings. It's a classic brewery tour explaining the beer-making process, showing part of the factory, and giving you two small draft beers at the end. Honestly, you can get Orion draft beer in Naha anytime—so I expected something more special or exclusive. I was hoping for a tasting with more variety or limited-edition brews. Also, the name “Happy Park” made me expect some kind of fun or unique experience—maybe something more interactive. But in the end, it’s a standard factory tour followed by a souvenir shop. That’s why I’d only recommend visiting if you’re driving around the island or staying nearby. In that case, it’s definitely worth a quick visit. Also, note that if you're a foreign tourist, the tour is only in Japanese. If you don’t speak the language, you’ll be given a brochure with the translated content to follow along.
Dusan K — Google review
We did the brewery tour and yes it was really cool. Walking through gleaming vats and corridors of stainless steel, watching the beer in various stages of fermentation and bottling, you get a real sense of the quiet, precise processes behind what ends up in your glass. At the end, the beer tasting was a highlight. Fresh, crisp, and somehow different when you drink it right from the source. It feels more alive and immediate. No gimmicks, just beer that wants to be drunk right then and there. There is also a merch shop on site. If you ever thought you needed a shirt, cap, or a stack of Orion paraphernalia, this is the place. We grabbed a few mementos ourselves. Overall, it was a fun and worthwhile detour. Informative, lively, and with the reward of good beer at the end. It is a solid stop for anyone who likes seeing what goes on behind the scenes of something you often take for granted.
JC — Google review
Spend about an hour here browsing the extensive gift shop and learning about Orion brewery history. Didn't manage to get a slot for the tour as you had to book ahead online at least 2-3 days in advance. Look at the photo with the QR code. Tour is in Japanese if I am not mistaken.
Frederick W — Google review
Interesting brewery tour! And the tour guide was kind enough to speak in English when it’s necessary! Appreciate it a lot!! Made us feel very welcoming and friendly! Two free beers after the tour woohoo!
Carol L — Google review
Pretty good experience overall. The tour is in Japanese but they have an English booklet and subtitled videos at each point in the plant to explain what you’re looking at. Staff is friendly, and the tour is very interesting. A lot of unique and interesting information about the origin of the company and the beer itself. To conclude the tour, you get 2 free beers (or non-alcoholic drinks if you drive). Tour is fun, and only takes about an hour. Has an amazing gift shop at the end with every product you can think of with an Orion Beer Logo on it. Highly recommended. Book tickets online. Usually tours fill Quickly so look about one month out for reservations.
Jay O — Google review
I didn't sign up for the tour. From what I understand the tour is in Japanese and you can do free sampling after the tour. There is also a merchandise shop and snacks bar at level 2
Zongtang ( — Google review
The brewery tour was informative and interesting, it was around 30 mins and afterwards you receive 2 free drinks over a 30 min tasting session. Make sure you book ahead of time, the English and Japanese online booking systems were inconsistent—English showed all sold out but the Japanese had spots available! So worth checking both!!

I stumbled upon the restaurant さくら食堂 on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised by the efficient service, delectable cuisine, and an atmosphere reminiscent of a casual eatery for single middle-aged men. It had a distinct bachelor greasy spoon vibe and seemed to be a favorite among cab drivers. The menu offered various pork dishes, each with its own unique flavor profile.
Really recommend here for a quick meal with tasty food! They have a good variety of popular local cuisine - large portions and tasty. Nice relaxed atmosphere, quick service and able to pay by card, which was a bonus for us

Restaurant served with classical Okinawa food. Tasted good and good value for money. The menu with different languages which included Japanese, English and Chinese. We wandered in late on a weekday but we found good service, great food, and an ambiance I could only describe as bachelor greasy spoon. Virtually every client was a single middle age dude, it was like we found where the cab drivers ate. We had three different pork dishes, and mine in particular was the sort of thing where the food really delivers on the photo/description: a bit spicier than you'll find on the mainland the onions done just so. We were very pleased.

Kaiseki restaurant
Yamabuki, a restaurant established in 1969 by owner Eriko, offers a Muslim-friendly menu and has gained popularity for its charming ambiance. The cozy, home-like atmosphere attracts celebrities and provides guests with the option to wear slippers. With traditional tatami seating on the floor, Yamabuki offers an authentic Japanese dining experience.
Located in Nago town with parking opposite, this rustic restaurant with the interior of escalatic items has also a number of private dining rooms. We sat at the table and there was also bar dining for solo clients . Ordered in person - there is an English menu but a Google translation of the Japanese menu was probably more accurate! The kaiseki meal was excellent- I had the in caked sushi which was a rice with piece sashimi fish with soba soup and dachi soup and also some fruits to finish off and an ice coffee. The meal with tempura prawn and also veg was good, even bigger portion with udon noodles in soup. Both dishes was excellent. Service was friendly- the ladies that served us were lovely and efficient.

We enjoyed a kaiseki dinner here, not traditional but a delightful fusion style. The seasoned abalone, lobster, and scallop dishes were exceptional and creatively presented. For my birthday, they crafted a stunning sashimi display with ice decorations and gifted me a lovely keepsake to end the meal. The artful food presentation and private dining room were highlights. We’ll definitely return!

We were lucky to find this restaurant and get a table without a reservation. If you don’t have a reservation, you can choose from fixed meal options, which I found to be varied and very good. I think reserving in advance expands your choices, since when we were leaving I saw other guests enjoying yakiniku, which wasn’t part of our menu. That said, this wasn’t an issue at all. Yamabuki is one of the few restaurants I will always remember. Everything, from the fish to the broth soup, was incredibly fresh, and the portions were generous. Every dish felt carefully thought out. Almost like an artist paiting a canvas. The staff was also wonderfully warm and attentive, which made the experience even more special. If I lived nearby, I’d definitely go more often. This place is truly a hidden gem in the area.

The food was authentic and amazing - there were Japanese locals and tourists alike lining up outside, and for good reason too! The soft bones were seared on the outside so they were crispy, but the inside was full of collagen and seemed to melt in your mouth. The pork belly were fatty and delicious, and the noodles we ordered were special seaweed noodles. It was smooth and a bit chewy. The soup was delicious and was perfectly seasoned. There was free water, and a set we ordered had rice. I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to try an authentic and delicious Okinawa restaurant!

Japanese restaurant
Tonkatsu restaurant
Yukino, a Japanese restaurant in the Resonex area, offers delicious local cuisine to its patrons. Despite initial concerns about not being able to consume alcohol, this was not an issue at all. The restaurant boasts ample parking space with around 5 parking lots adjacent to the premises. Arriving before 6:00 pm ensured a convenient parking spot. Yukino is spacious and attracts both hotel guests and local families after 6 o'clock.
Authentic setting, serving the locals. Came to try some of the okinawan dishes...braised pork belly, stir fried bitter gourd with egg, tofu and pork slices, tempura locally harvested seaweeds etc

Cosy family place with an excellent sashimi chef, we had set meals, tempura and sashimi and tau fu and two drinks. It was a lovely experience.

Yukino restaurant serves delicious karagge, very good bitter gourd (Goya) chanpuru, and yakitori. Okinawa soba is good, I've had better – it was a little salty, and the soup lacked flavor. However, the price is very reasonable, and they accept credit cards. Oddly enough, the karagge was some of the best I've ever tasted.

A homely restaurant serves Okinawa local food, delicious and as consistent as 30 months ago that I visited last time; reasonable price; all staff serves with hospitality; many family visited the restaurant with children; the atmosphere is family like; arrived there at 6:30pm and wait for less than 10 minutes.

Good place to try Okinawan food. Loved it! There was a queue; one has to leave a name, but that soon cleared. Forgot to take pic of karaage but it was just the right crispiness. Will definitely return.

Traditional Japanese restaurant. We sat on the straw floor. Food was great. Try the sea urchin dish and fried chicken. The curry and the yakitori were just ok. Service was excellent despite being very busy. We tried to eat there on another night around 630pm, but there was a line up. We would have loved to eat there again!

Super good food and very nice and polite people! They also have English menu. Very fresh salmon sashimi and i love the gunkan rolls and grape seaweed. Parking is not a problem, you can tell the staff that you need a parking space. They only accept CASH.

Good atmosphere, tasty Okinawa style Izakaya food with Chinese, English and Korean menu. Try their seaweed tempura (もずく Mozuku, a local algae) and kimichi fry udon. Service is polite but a bit slow, they just too busy. Expect to queue for seating.
