The actual summit (1729 meters) is closed for the regular visitors because it is a very dangerous walk on a very thin ridge barely the width of your shoulders. The more adventurous people take the back side route but I wouldn't advise it and you would be crazy to even think of attempting it alone. Carry lots of water in Summers or get ready to shell out lots of Yens for water at the hut on top. No toilets between the parking lot and summit.
