Taitung Forest Park, located in Taitung County, Taiwan, is a sprawling natural sanctuary spanning approximately 1,146 hectares. The park is celebrated for its magnificent landscapes and rich biodiversity. Visitors can wander along the park's trails that meander through verdant foliage, towering beefwood trees, and colorful blooms. Additionally, the park features a serene lake habitat inhabited by various aquatic creatures and waterfowl.
We didn't have to buy tickets or anything, it was just open entry to everyone. Very pretty in the morning, the weather was perfect and there were so many good trails to run. There were Aldo lots of cool things to look at on the sides of the trails. Pretty flowers, cool statues, lots and lots of trees, it felt like I was in a remote forest.

Bicycle is recommended to visit the park. Cover yourself with UV protection. Sun glasses, hats are needed when you set your foot into the park.
One word of warning! I saw a rattle snake crossing the pavement today. So be careful! They won't attack you unlythey felt threatened!

Great place to walk and enjoy nature. Access to Egret Lake.
The forest park is situated near Taitung Ocean park and it is well connected to public transportation. Forest Park has major two entry and exit points and Park is full of nature-dedicated trails with ponds, greenish vegetation, beaches. It is the perfect park for relaxing and it will take you close to nature. The park is expanded by approximately 10km with different vegetation and trails are designed in unique and adventurous ways that will keep you three hours busy in exploration. You can rent the battery or manual bicycle for a ride in the park and that is available at affordable prices in nearby shops. The park has a restroom at various locations and the complete information is highlighted in the Park in bilingual languages. But there are no restaurants in the Park or water dispensers or vending machines.
It's definitely a must visit. I didn't have much anticipation at first. But the ride and the scenery meditate my mind. Tips: Make sure to rent an ebicycle. As the park is huge. Cycle will be hard to cover everything.
This place is so big and good for spending time with your friends and family. Also, you are able to rent a bike to go around this area. I did enjoy being with my family there. BTW you have to pay the entrance fee before you get inside.
Enjoying 🚴 with the nice weather. Try your best to avoid visit to the park during hot sun ☀ weather, unless you wish to have healthy tant skin. Please bring sufficient drinking water with you because there is no water dispenser and store in the park.

Another very famous restaurant that is located in Taitung!
As I have never tried the rice noodles before so I was kind of looking forward to it when I went.
It wasn't so crowded when I arrived, still have some empty tables there. The wait wasn't too long. Got my food pretty fast, but all is self service where you order and pick your food at the counter.
The food is good and it is not so expensive.
Overall it is a good experience
The noodle soup and side dishes are delicious, it’s half-service and the environment is clean. I love their chili, not too spicy but smell good. I would recommend this place for a quick bite.

The environment is clean and like the dining experience in an old shop setting.

There seems to be many restaurants selling the same type of noodles in the city center, didn’t have a chance to try others so couldn’t compare how good is this one.
A Must-Try restaurant if you are in Taitung.
You can see the crowd in front of the shop, don’t give up, they gone pretty fast so even though it’s long queue but you won’t wait too long till deliciousness 🤤 The famous noodle is made by rice, it’s thicker than the normal one, dried and soup available, highly recommend side dishes too. You’ll enjoy it as much as I do :)

The place with almost 11k reviews is the best hots spot in the center of taitung. After a long train journey from tainan, we ended up having our lunch. This place was full by 11.30; we actually had to wait for 15 minutes. The most highlighted thing in this place is their noodles bowl, which cost only 50 $ntd for small and 55 $ntd for big portions. Noodles are so tasty and juicy with pork stock and veggies in it.
The place runs for almost more than 30 years, serving these noodles at this price.
Now comes the trickest part of their restaurant - the sides, which bring their main business, a bit pricy but super tasty and delicious.
We tried the chciken sausage for $ 100ntd.
Dry fried veggies with minced pork for 180$ntd (which was pricy but really tasty) and then the deep fried crispy fish fry 😋 for 180 $ NTD. Then, teas ranges from 25 to 50$ Ntd.
We loved the place so much; we were the only foreigners in there, chatting and laughing loud getting everyone attention lol 😆, the owners were so sweet and the people who served were also so cute and always smiling, they also have a cute robot who comes and delivers the sides for ur table and talks to you about ur orders.
Thank you, Rong Shu, for giving us an amazing food experience in taitung. Please open a branch in tainan; I will coke every day for the crispy fish and small bowl of noodles.

Taitung Night Market is a small but diverse marketplace where visitors can find various snacks such as rice cakes, noodle soup, and cream puffs. The highlight of the market is the steak, omelette, and smelly tofu stall in the middle. Custard apple is a local favorite that tastes incredibly sweet and comes at an affordable price.
This fried rice noodles stall is very clean and hygienic looking. And Stinky Tofu stall that's very crispy.
A good night market as there are plenty of seats to eat-in. There are also rubbish bins provided along the market, in every stall and wash basins in some stalls. 👍🏼

Compared to Raohe night market, you can said it is smaller in scale.
However, it has most of the food variety which you normally find in night market.
And it seemed Taitung folks really like Western food on grill a lot and it has long queue.
Well, if we are talking about night markets this is quite a small one compared with other night markets in Taiwan.
The stalls are not too many as well, hence the choices are very limited too
But there are many signatures old stall there like the stinky taufu etc
Overall it is not bad.
Honestly its a great nightmarket. Much much better than Hualien’s. Locals are happy. Friendly. Patient. Good vibe. Good food. Beautiful people.
I liked this market more than the one in Hualien. I feel they have more variety of food (or maybe they just have more food that's to my liking 🤷♀️).
There's outdoor seatings available, though they might be specific to certain stalls. Lots of games, the feeling is quite festive.
Small night market but the food variety are good thou. The biggest stall in the night market here is the steak, omelette and smelly tofu stall in the middle. Taitung is famous for their Custard apple. Their custard Apple taste very sweet. Price is definitely cheaper. The night market have one stall selling dessert. Their egg tart and cream puff taste quite good thou.
Crowded on a Saturday evening. Smelly tofu with herbal soup was really hearty and comforting, which was perfect for a cold rainy day. There were also pork chop and the usual oyster omelette.
Nice night market with a good variety of food.
Opening time says 5pm, but shouldn’t go there before 6-7 ish, because many food stalls need some more time to get the food ready.

A comfortable place. I love the hot air balloons hung on the trees as the decoration for the park, which were handmade by the primary school children.
There are no vendors during the day, but when it’s sunny it’s good to get together with some friends to picnic on the grass.
There’s also a Starbucks there, if you happen to have some spare time, here’s a recommendation that you buy a piece of cake and a cup of coffee to enjoy the afternoon here in TieHuaTsun.

I loved our evening at the music village in Taitung. The market stalls were full of lovely arts and crafts, as well as food stalls. The live music helped create a great atmosphere. The lights and lanterns around the area were beautiful, too.
I don't think I'm familiar with this place enough to give a review, but I'm leaving the comment before I leave this beautiful city.
To my knowledge, I know the original contributor of this area :台灣好基金會 is withdrawing from the management and transferring it to the government.
It signifies a new operation that will be more inclusive than exclusive to local businesses and performers.
The quality and uniqueness of the boutiques and performances rendered by the former exclusiveness will diminish but not vanish.
And that's what I saw and that's what's happening when I visited to the market.
The lack of visitors volume and diversity of the merchant types is obvious, but it could be due to the low season.
Nevertheless, the intricate architectural and illumination innovation caught everyone's eye including mines.
The participation and organization are somewhat overdisappointing because I was expecting much better involvement.
In short: too good the hardware, making the software going down too obvious.
A retired train station wouldn’t be allowed wasted, so here’s this artists village. Music, shows, street performance are offered and presented on regular schedule. Check their timetable beforehand so that you won’t feel let down but false expectations. Remember to bring a nice camera while taking a easy stroll along the trees and architectures of creative shapes.
The place consists of two main rows of shops, instead of the usual food stand you find at night markets, most of these sell handmade works of art, ranging from accessories to sculptures. There are usually performers playing music in the background. There are also cafes not too far from this main walkway. It’s nice to come in the evening after 8, when it’s not too busy. The downside is that most of the shops would be getting ready to leave for the night.
This place open after 6pm. We were there early but most stalls has yet to open. But the ambience here is really nice. The stalls here sells artistic stuff or self made items which is a suitable place to find gift for your love ones. They also have live band here for you to chill out.

The coolest place in Taitung run by the coolest local I’ve met so far! The musical selection is diverse and captivating, the bar is cozy and relaxing, and the overall vibe of the village and street market is just unbeatable. Definitely a place you need to check out for yourself if you’re in Taitung and make sure to bring your friends along too!

It is built around the original Taitung train station, which operated for 80 years before being moved to its current location in 1982. The village offers a motley collection of art installations and exhibitions that showcase local culture and creativity.
I loved this place! Vibrant and creative with a ton of interesting public art, unique buildings, craftspeople, musicians, and food. A great place to relax with a loved one and family. Just a few blocks away from a lively night market too. A perfect evening to soak in great weather in Taitung.

there are many handmade goods a little bit expensive. But find, it’s depend on what u like it.
Went there twice, once during the day and once at night. Obviously, there's not much to see here during the day, but the atmosphere at night is mesmerizing. There was a live musician by the purple Christmas tree at the front of the road and there were quite a few people visiting although it's low season and a lot of the stalls weren't open that day. There's a selection of handicraft such as scented candles to choose from and you'll find a place to sit down and have a beer. The lanterns look lovely at night and give the place a special charm.
This place is in Taitung city located along a wide boulevard within a.huge garden. Good for strolls and coziness. On weekends, local artists display their handicrafts and artworks for sale. There are also buskers performance as well. Also some restaurants operate there serving normal fares. Overall this is anice place to visit if you are in Taitung city. The sun and weather brightens you up from Oct onwards. Bright sunshine, beautiful clouds, stunning flowers, cool wind blowing and the sea view from the mountain is stunning.
Nice place to visit to see colorful mini hot air balloon art. You can walk around to take pictures. Sometimes they have different music events here so check the schedule to see what's happening. It looks different at night when the lights are on.
Such a lively place both during the day and at night! There's lots of little local shops and artists to support. It's a great place to hangout at night, with the lanterns lit up and places to sit down in the grass and just eat and chill.

Quite an enjoyable place to have a walk and relax. It has a number of artistic displays or constructs. There's also a shop selling interesting trinkets. Worth a visit.
Railway art village is well connected to public transportation and there are parking spots for bicycles and scooters. Art village has dedicated streets for shopping such as jewelry, food, cosmetics, and live performances. Art village has a rich history for the Japanese era railway where you can relax and see the old wagon, platforms with few lengths of railway lines, and storage warehouse. Art village is situated just behind Taitung bus stand and it has a restroom near to the village art.
But need to take care sometimes you can see drunk homeless people. It's so sad but the government needs to take care of them.

Scenic spot on the east coast called Little Yeliu (Xiaoyeliu).When you arrive at Fugang Geopark go to the visitor center and learn about the ecological evolution of Fugang. I am really amazed in seaside plant and happy to hear the relaxing sound of wave coming from the ocean while walking on the coconut trail. I can hear the chirping of birds.Relaxing quiet atmophere of the mountain forest. You can take a rest in the pavillion and listen to the natural music of the waves. I also enjoy the breathtaking view of dancing ocean with thick layers of sandstone and thin layers of mudstone. There are visitor centers, shop that selling nice souvenirs and delicious different flavors of ice cream,clean restrooms,camping areas,and seaside trail park.Must visit in Taitung County, Taiwan and experience the magnificent landscape created by the changes in the ocean and the erosion of the ocean for thousands of years creating spectacular tofu rocks and honeycomb rocks that attract the attention of travelers like me. If you love natural wonder of nature you will surely enjoy it.
Car parking fee is NTD 50. Can have a look though but it just a very little spot. Under 30++ degree weather cannot bear anymore😂
This place is a must-see in the Taitung seaside area!
great place to look at the coast and the pacific ocean. they've got all sorts of interesting looking rocks as a result of erosion over the years. they also have a few high points to view the coast. there's also a few stores selling souvenirs, ice cream and some other stuff. nice place to visit if you enjoy looking at the ocean. they have a trail to walk along and also can walk along the Rocky coast if you choose to.
It's about a 20min bicycle ride from the city here. The ride isn't exactly scenic but it's convenient. You can also stop at the forest park on your way. It was cloudy on the day I went, I'm sure that makes a difference, so the view was so so. There were a couple of families playing hide and seek around the rocks, other than that there were few people. Further up North are a couple more scenic spots so it makes sense to spend a day or so in the area. There is no entrance fee.
We planned for the quick stopover to check out this place, and we spent almost 1.5 hours and we wish we can spend more time here if we could. This is a beautiful place, and my kids were enjoying rock climbing/ jumping, watching small fishes, crabs and lizards in between the rocks.

The ocean view is amazing here. When I saw the sea view, my pressure was reduced! However, if you would like to visit the place, I suggest to wear a coat since the wind is strong here.
This place is just off the High Road and offers scenic view of the sea and nice space to sit in the shade. Oh yes and toilets!!! Good space to let the kids run around not many people.

Amazing oceanside view. Great mountains, rocky beach, high clouds, and blue sky and pacific ocean. You can see the "Green Island" in the farside horizon in a good-seeing day. A big parking area and public toilet are here.
As mentioned by others, it is a small scenic park to stop at (there is a parking lot) if you are on the road between Taitung and Hualien. The view of the ocean and the mountains is quite nice and there is no entry fee. The whole East coast is lovely, so if you are in a rush, I recommend checking all view points on Google Maps in advance in order to choose which one you would like to visit the most as it is actually a long ride between both cities.
Interesting and quirky sculptures, but nothing particularly amazing. Terrific views of the ocean and mountains, but similar to other locations in this part of the island. Definitely worth a stop if you happen to be passing by, but I wouldn't make a special trip.

Four people visited a popular Cantonese restaurant called HOYEA Chinese Cuisine at the Taitung Sheraton Hotel. They ordered the Roasted Duck meal set lunch, which allowed them to choose from five out of eight options. Priced at NT$2588 plus a 10% service charge, it was considered reasonable for a high-end five-star hotel restaurant. Overall, they rated their experience positively, giving scores of 4 for food quality, value, presentation, and tastiness.

The quality of the food has decreased so much over the years that the price they ask is not worth anymore a meal here.
It used to be a high lever dim sum restaurant but now the squid cake has sweet corn inside, which means it officially became a lower level taiwanese restaurant. Service was pretty bad too, waiting staff was cold and non-caring.
The service was good. The restaurant is clean, including the toilet. Some food were delicious but there are some which I think are a bit too salty for my taste. I suggest that they make their menu more simple. It‘s thick and there are SO MANY food to choose from that it will make you feel confused and think/decide for a long time.
We are 4 of us ordered a Roasted Duck meal set lunch (choice of 5 from 8) at NT$2588 + 10%, which was reasonable and acceptable price (considered at the 5 stars hotel’s restaurant)

Exactly, it says fries and chips! You are totally right and exactly this is confusing, as you expecting chips inside burger and provided photo in menu doesn’t contain photo of any chips or fries as a side dish. Therefore, you look into menu see fries separately and order it.
Regarding pricing, check other reviews in Google if you think my point is wrong. You have half size of “normal” burger in other places. You are in city where wages and (I guess) rent should be cheaper. So why you charge the same burger price as some Taipei places who has higher costs and bigger size.
Still, subjectively, but taste of burger and meat is very average. But IMHO.

We found this place on Google maps and heard their burgers and pizza were great. We didn’t see pizza on the menu, which was kind of a let down.
It’s a small place and they have posted rules about how long you are permitted to stay, the minimum order, etc.
One cool thing is that they have a special place for a person who is eating solo. Take #1 has a crescent shaped seating nook for a single. I thought that was neat. There’s a little library with Mandarin language Harry Potter books. Kind of ironic given the time restraint, but endearing nonetheless.
The burger and fries were good and the presentation was photo worthy.

We went to this place after a three day biking trip from Hualien. The dinner was a perfect finish to the trip. The burger and the pizza are both great - and not many restaurants managed to do both well. Will come back again next time in Taitung.

Interestingly-decorated Japanese restaurant with a variety of set meals and single-order items. We ordered two set meals (kimchi pork and salted grilled fish). Each set meal came with a bowl of soup, rice, seared tuna sashimi, and small sides. Be aware that there is no elevator to the 2nd floor, where the bathrooms are located.
Ordered sushi set menu and beef. Sashimi on sushi were all dried and tasteless. And the beef alone came 20 min later after we completed our set menu. Not worth it.
Sushi was ok, service friendly. But portions were very small and prices very high. I guess we were charged foreigner prices - this was more expensive than Morimoto New York! I wouldn't go again....

The National Museum of Prehistory (NMP) is a large museum showcasing natural and cultural history. It originated from the discovery of the Peinan site during the construction of Taitung train station in 1980. The museum features exhibits on tectonics, human evolution, and archaeological artifacts that trace Taiwan's geological formation and the development of its aboriginal culture.
Incredible museum with lots to see. The information is very beautifully and creatively presented through various different displays, large 1:1 scale recreations of prehistoric life, and interactive games for children. There’s also a cafe and a shop selling clothing etc designed using aboriginal Austronesian patterns and colours. Highly recommend anyone who visits Taitung and is interested in history to spend a day or half a day here! By the way all of the displays and info signs etc have good quality English translations.

The content is really good! I suggest following a guide in the museum so they tell you more stories behind the scenes. The structure and designing of the building is to honor the archaeological discoveries. There are places for children to play and craft room to make souvenirs. Buses and trains are limited, so plan ahead if you are taking public transportation.

The only downside is that is is located far from any public transportation so you will need to taxi, bike or drive; its kind of out in the boonies!

I was very impressed by the museum! Both by the building itself and by all the information available. It covers Taiwanese history from 30.000 years ago all the way to 400 years ago, with 2 dedicated sections for the human side and environmental side of things. It also has a section for international historical sites and austronesian history. I would definitely recommend it to any english speaking tourists in the area.
One thing to note: if you plan on using google maps to find your way there with a bycicle, it will guide you to the back of the building where the wheelchair accessible lift is located to access the onsite restaurant for some reason. The entrance is on the other side of the building, just in front of the massive parking space.

Interesting place for learning about tribes that lived on this land before the indigenous peoples of the area who survive today. The exhibition was small but interesting, although it was missing some connection to present day indigenous tribes or the connection in the translated content wasn't clear. Come in the day after Typhoon Kong-rey so it was closed to clean up. Love the location and the opening outside space. It is simple but nice design.

Too often in our modern society it is difficult to “see it all.” Museums hold vast depths of history to explore, libraries yield lifetimes of books. This is not one of those places, and for that it deserves our praise. In as little as 10 minutes, you can experience all that Taitung Art Museum has to offer. It may just change your life. Keep your Smithsonian, your British Museum—I’ll be here looking at any one of the at least three paintings they have.
Side note—there are some really cool wooden structures outside you can climb on. Definitely worth a visit.
AmaIng exhibition on stop motion on Joss paper, a great way to spend some time between dropping off our rental car and catching the ferry to green island. The staff here are also incredibly friendly, I had a great time talking with one of them about the exhibition and shared similarities across our cultures.
They even called a taxi for us so we could get to Fugang harbor, as Uber isn't used in Taitung and there aren't many taxis outside of the train station.
We really had great time here during the design week. The beautiful installation to show case artists works like wonder. Museum is small, but perfect for solo show. Love the light and architecture.

They sell speciality foods from all over world, like from France to Italy to Japan and more. You really can find almost anything here. There were these interesting pizza crackers too! It’s like a place of adventure to shop and discover new products. If you need souvenirs, food, supplies, and gifts, this is the one stop shop for all of it.
When one needs a home-grown shopping experience, come to Carrefour. Clean and organized.

This night market is only opened every Sunday, probably that’s the reason why it’s so crowded. Felt that most stalls were from taitung’s night market on Saturday with a lot more games stalls. Really love the prawn cracker, thou its a bit on the pricey side. 150 yuan
Very nice market. Its crowded. But I loved the vibe. Loved the food. I had duck head, taro balls and chicken feet and 2 differents sausage. From 4 differents stands and all was very very good.
Quite an interesting and extraordinary experience for anyone who visits tytoon just go for the Sunday night Market because it's on Sunday. It has a different flare and energy. It's once in a week and locals go there for having fun.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the city. The opening and service time is 4 pm to 11 pm. The restaurant is run by three boys and one sweet lady and they do their jobs with dedication. The restaurant usually doesn't have any menu because they only serve three cuisines but all three are delicious at affordable prices. The restaurant has indoor dining and sometimes a small crowd will be there for their orders. The restaurant is clean and well managed. They also have black tea. They also have takeaway facilities. My recommendation is to try tofu with noodles and bamboo shoot soup.
This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the city, if not in Taiwan!

Most of vegetarian will sure mark this store in their dinner list when travel to Taitung. Both of us tried two bowls of noodles and glutinous rice.
Taste was average to us as we are totally vegetarian, a little bit sweet, like the sweet Tainan flavor, for us nothing excited. But it’s very cheap and open till midnight.
During summer time you may like to sit on table near to road side rather than in shop, sit near the cooking place was extremely hot but we can't choose coz the cooler sit was occupied.

The price is cheap, but the taste seems off. The use of pickled bamboo shoots doesn't really mix will with the meat in the meat bun. It reminds me of the smell of sewage. The red baan and tarro bun also seems very bland and could use a bit more sugar or other flavors to lift the taste. Finally bun itself used in all the items is tough and dense and not light and with hint of sweatness.

Despite its unconventional appearance, the house has withstood numerous typhoons and earthquakes. The owner, Wang, expanded the building to six floors for his son's future.

A truly unique and unforgettable spot in Taitung! Uncle’s Little White House is like stepping into a real-life fairytale. Built entirely by one man over 40 years using recycled materials, the structure is full of charm and I can see the similarities with howls moving castle. It's not a traditional tourist attraction, but that’s what makes it so special. A perfect stop for lovers of art, architecture, and local stories.
Quite astonishing that this building is still standing, as it’s frequently bashed by typhoons and earthquakes. Respect to the architect and builder given the materials at hand. It’s places like this that makes Taidong such a magical place.
On the one hand it's an old broken house; the other hand there's beauty in its evolving state. Something that we don't see in the big city. It's also got the Miyazaki movies vibe which makes it even more interesting for the anime fans. Definitely come by to see if you're in the area before the city tears it down.

I checked some info on the internet and there is a blogger sharing that this house was built by an old man. He collected every pieces of material and constructed it by hand, which is amazing.
However the old man passed away so now the house remains what it looks now. No one lives here, but it then becomes some tourist destination.
Such a sad story behind this house... You cannot go inside but apparently there are 6 floors that the man built himself by hand. He wanted his son to come back and live with him but he never did and the man sadly passed away 😢

The house wasn't so big at first, form outside, it looks like 4 floors building but inside it's 6 floors. The reason he built more floors is for his son. His son lives in Kaohsiung, married and work there. He think if he can build more rooms, his son would willing to move back but the wish never came true. Mr. Wang had already passed away, I don't know what will happen to this house. I hope it won't be teared apart and build some stupid shopping mall or something alike.

The park offers cycling and walking paths that connect to Taitung Forest Park and extend all the way to the sea via Green Tunnel Bridge. The coast is adorned with a vast black sand beach, providing a wild and unsupervised environment. However, swimming is not recommended due to strong currents and riptides.
Great place to go for a walk. Saw a number of people cycling as well. Was lucky to be here during the night glow concert.

Beautiful and nice to walk BUT again like so many place in Taiwan its ruined by stray dogs. They are highly dangerous. They should do something about it. A small kid will end up killed eventually.

On another day this park probably wouldve been better but it was a rainy day. It has great views of the ocean and some art scattered around. If you are traveling through the east coast you don't need to go out of your way to see it. There are many many other places worth spending your time at.

The Beinan Site is an open-air archaeological excavation of a prehistoric burial ground located in the northern outskirts of Taidong city, Taiwan. The site dates back more than 5000 years and provides valuable insights into a little-known culture that may have given rise to one or both of the island's largest ethnic groups. It features a large and well-maintained park with trails connecting all areas, as well as reconstructions of houses, an ancient boat, and a youth training center.
Cool excavation site of the prehistoric people living here hundreds to thousands of years ago. They found this when digging up the new railway station. Cool for kids to learn about history or some would find it creepy with all the coffins. The area around here is spacious. Be prepared to do some walking though none or it is strenuous. Make sure to see the replicas of prehistoric houses around the museum.

Wow I dont know why this place is not busy?! Huge place with swings and area for kids to play, instagram shots and more!!! Seriously Best in the late afternoon as it’s hotter in the morning and summer lunchtime. A good places to walk around explore he grounds and take pictures. It’s near the train station so it’s easy access. The parking lot is huge, and leaves to a museum that explains more of the history. If you have free time away from the ocean and want to see some other historical areas then a good place. There is a very large area for kid to play with even tree awing or two! Reminds me of Jamestown in Virginia.

Big, and well kept park, it's ideal for a picnic, as well as getting acquainted with Taiwan's mysterious prehistory. It dates more than 5000 years back and it provides a good amount of information of a little-known culture which it's said it gave birth to either one or another of the 2 biggest ethnic groups of Taiwan. It's a burial site hiding a priceless and remarkable content of objects of all sorts and skeletons. The park also offers reconstructions of houses, a training center for youth, and an ancient boat. It has clean bathrooms and trails connecting every side of it.
Just a short walk from the train station. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit the site but since I arrived by train anyway, I came here before heading down town. There really isn't much here but you can stroll around a little. The view of the surrounding mountains is quite neat.
Its a tourist attraction...which is near from Taitung train station. Must visit once if you travel to taitung.
It was closed and under construction. I recommend to have more sign and story telling about this place and how people from the past used this place and what they do, it will be more interesting!

I stayed at the Hoya hotel which is close by and this restaurant was within walking distance. I had the beef noodle soup and beef xiaolongbao. Both were excellent. The staff were very helpful and one of them spoke english. I made a mistake on my order sheet and the waitress pointed it out and made sure I ordered the correct item. There were many locals there so it appeared to be a very popular place. I can see why. Highly recommend.

Taitung Tianhou Temple, located in the south of Sihwei on Jhonghua Road, is a popular and ornately decorated temple dedicated to Mazu. It has over a hundred years of history and showcases the struggle between different ruling powers. The temple features great wall writings and a variety of Dao deities, with a major focus on Mazu and the old moon grandpa for couples wishing to get married.

This is a good spot to take pictures and the station has a lot of history this is because the station was once a transportation hub, the platforms, tracks, and trains. Also, many people visit the service center.
The small yellow and white bus I took (8168A) got me from the bus station to the train station in 20 minutes and it left on time from one of the numbered platforms. The TTB buses take 35 minutes to the train station and they leave from a different platform (8). I couldn’t see the platform number posted but I could see small white TTB buses parked along the curb near a sign I couldn’t read. Apparently this is Platform 8. The woman working at the info counter was friendly and spoke some English.
If you have any questions or if you have to wait for bus than you can definitely stay here, spend time in a a/c conditioning place and get all useful information you need

All kids satisfied with the cheesey volcanoeyness of it.
This is the beef sandwich. It is basically all bread with a very little bit of stuff inside. It is very disappointing.
If they filled the sandwich like a normal sandwich should be filled, I would be satisfied.

Beiping Banmu Garden in Taitung is a hidden gem offering mouth-watering hand-cut noodles and thick scallion pancakes. The shop owner can be seen slicing fresh noodles into boiling water, ensuring the utmost freshness. The scallion pancakes and beef cakes are cooked on-site, providing a filling and affordable meal option. Visitors recommend trying the sesame cold noodles and beef noodles for their rich flavors.
Beef noodle soup, green onion pancakes, and the meat buns are all incredible. This is my favourite restaurant in Taitung.

Good portion. Good price. A friend of mine took me here. Just look at the photos. This is a very local spot where you'll find delicious noodles! Make sure you try the little cakes shown in the pictures! I plan to come back!
The noodles were thick, bouncy and chewy. They handmake the dough and knifecut the noodles. We ordered the sesame cold noodles and the beef noodles. Both were the best we had on the trip so far! The beef broth was rich and flavourful and the sesame noodles were refreshing and ever so slightly sweet. Would go back again and again!
The taste is traditional and delicious. The noodle are handmade and hand cut just like the traditional way.
Best hot and sour soup I’ve had ever. Must haves are the pancake and the dumplings which are amazing. Also super cheap for what you get.
Wow this is an must try! If you ever in Taitung and want noodle or dumplings! This place is a MUST TRY! Handmade noodles and if you are like me and tried their beef noodle. Man, the beef is so tender and the noodle is nice a thick hand sliced!
This was my favorite food stop in Taitung!
I ate way too much but regret nothing 😂 noodles are thick cut and the pancakes taste homemade.
