Tebing Breksi, also known as the Breccia Cliff, is a stunning limestone cliff located in Sambirejo Village near Yogyakarta City. This area is famous for its intricate carvings and sweeping views, making it a popular spot for tourists exploring the Prambanan Sub-District of Sleman Regency. The cliff is situated close to several renowned temples such as Prambanan, Ratu Boko, Candi Ijo, and Kalasan Temple.
Established in 2015 and officially opened by Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, Tebing Breksi awarded the new popular tourism destination in 2017, and Geoheritage of Yogyakarta. The mining in the area is forbidden since 2014 and created into education and tourism site. It features relief and statues of puppeteer characters. Walking up the stairs in the upper part we may witness beautiful nature scenery, Prambanan temple from distance, various instagrammable spots, and accompanied by the breeze of Sambirejo and friendly doves. Beautiful sunset is stunning☀️☀️

Lots of beautiful eye candy views to enjoy. As well Instagrammable spots. Avoid the middle of the day and highly recommend to be there at 4-5 PM. As sunset seems to be the best to capture the beauty

You can always read the story of tebing breksi at Google or other literature, but you must see this place physically! It's amazing and worth visit. This place offers instagrammable spot for enthusiast. This place is not so crowded during weekdays.

tebing breksi now is awesome! with only 15K per person you can enjoy a great cliff with magnificent scenery of jogja from the height, with better facilities you can enjoy this tourist attraction completely

...this cliff is a tourist attraction in Sleman Regency. It is located south of Prambanan Temple and adjacent to Ijo Temple and the Boko Palace Complex. The Breksi Cliff tourist attraction is located in Sambirejo Village, Prambanan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. Breksi Cliff Tourism Park is a natural tourist attraction in Yogyakarta. As its name suggests, this tourist attraction is a hill of Breksi rocks. The beautiful patterns of the Breksi rock cliffs are a major draw for tourists...

“Tebing Breksi is a stunning tourist spot in Jogja with unique rock formations, beautiful carvings, and amazing panoramic views of the city and Mount Merapi. The place is well maintained, clean, and perfect for photos, especially during sunset. A must-visit destination for nature lovers and travelers in Yogyakarta
Sourav K — Google review
As one of the people who learned about rocks in college, I really like visiting this location. The big rocks were shown up in the surface with beautiful color gradation and shapes. The local government successfully created this outcrop to be one of the tourism destination closed to Yogyakarta. It took me around 50 minutes driving here using a motorcycle. In the big rock, they also modified it so we could go to the top of the outcrop. They created a stair that let us go to the top of the outcrop. Not only the stairs, but we would find the top part is filled with many places to take pictures as well as the supported equipment, such as the love signs as background, tea pot as accessories and many others. You could go here with friends or family. Recommended place to visit.

Sindu Kusuma Edupark (SKE) is an entertainment destination that caters to both kids and adults. It boasts a variety of rides, such as a large observation wheel, ziplines, and Segways. Located in Yogya, SKE is considered a hidden theme park perfect for hanging out with family or friends. You can purchase tickets on Traveloka or on-site.
A word to describe this place is extraordinary. Look how impressive the scenes are! Capture and cherish the moments there with your special one, friends or family! I suggest you visit Sindu Kusuma Edupark. They provide many things! Best services and fun rides, pretty sure would build up everyone's adrenaline! If you are currently in Jogja, you must put SKE on your list! 🙌😊

The place isn't located in the main road, but still easily to reach. Parking lot is spacious. To get inside you shall but ticket first which is varies in price depend on the privilege you'll get inside. The cheapest one is only entrance ticket for IDR 10K and the expensive one is for IDR 65K, you'll get to experiencing all the facilities including swimming pool. You can find few food vendor inside, so no need fo worry if you're hungry. Its not too crowded when I visit, more like empty, with some rides are not operating. The place is actually good, but it's dirty and not manage well, which make it looks rusty and abandoned, in case of some rides. The only place where it's crowded on my time of visit is the swimming pool, with its some big slides. Over all, maybe if they maintenance the place better, it'll looks well.
Irene S — Google review
Considered to visit for kids. Water park ok and Dino Park ok, even the Dino Park is a small area park but the Dino is alive. Other amusement attraction need for maintenance. Advice to take limited entry ticket package, since all free pass ticket are worth less due to some of amusement are not operational.
Yusup P — Google review
For you who dislike crowded amusement park, this place is recommended. It's new and clean enough, although it has limited kind of rides. The entrance ticket is 15.000, exclude all-in tickets 70.000 for adults and 50.000 for kids under 120cm. I only pay the entrance ticket since I didn't want to ride all. I paid the selected rides, each ranges from 10-15.000.
Mnr R — Google review
Personally for 60k price this place was okay u can stroll everything inside with so much fun but then the main star of this place which the iconic bianglala, unfortunately it is my first time and they gave me not the best experience, ima be honest i got a little bit upset cuz we can only ride it once and i got the one with scratchy glass (the guard opened it randomly so it’s all against my will) technically i can’t see the beautiful view from above the sky. Other than that everything was pretty well average, nice experience not the best one but not the worst too
Sony R — Google review
We came here accidently. From front door, it looks quite attractive, you can see the ferris wheel as their landmark from across the road. Ticket entrance was IDR 20.000 each person (free for children under 85 cm). Inside the park there are several arcades with different ticket price, averagely IDR 10.000. The park has water park in the entrance, which is very cool (children will love it), but the rest attraction are, sorry to say, just so-so 😅. Anyway, it's nice to visit, as it located not far from city center and open till late night.
Irfan S — Google review
To be honest, this park was okay for IDR 60K you could ride all the attractions in the park though some were closed! If all the attractions were open, I would have given better rating! I recommend the waterpark, sepeda mabur, and the ferriswheel (note: better came to this park at the afternoon)

Agro Tourism Bhumi Merapi is a picturesque agricultural park that features a mini zoo and Santorini-themed area where visitors can take selfies, feed rabbits, and milk goats. The entrance fee is affordable at IDR 30K. It's best to visit early to avoid the crowds and hot weather by bringing an umbrella. Kids can have fun horseback riding, but weekends and holidays tend to be too crowded for this activity.
Must visit place in Yogjakarta. Suitable for family with kids. The petting zoo is wonderfull.. All animals are taken care, clean place, and have beautiful buildings as photo spot. Great place to relax and enjoy your family time. Price is affordable.

Agro Tourism Bhumi Merapi is a fun and refreshing place to visit, especially for families with kids. Located at the foot of Mount Merapi, the cool weather and natural surroundings make the experience even better. There are plenty of activities—from feeding animals like rabbits and goats, to exploring the themed photo spots that feel like you’re traveling through Europe. Kids can enjoy pony rides, while adults can relax and enjoy the scenery. The place is clean, well-maintained, and offers a great mix of education and entertainment. A perfect weekend escape from the city!

I visited this place with my friends on weekday around 9 a.m. Road access to this place was very easy to reach. Ticket price for entrance per person was 30k. The atmosphere was very quiet and there was no wait. The place was so unique and there were so many photo spots. We took a lot of photos and videos without disturbance. We definitely had a great time.

There are many small animals that you can feed and touch like tortoises, rabbits , cats, snakes, etc. There's horses that you can ride . There are also many backgrounds good for photos. Wheelchairs friendly as there are a lot of ramps . Good place to spend time with your family. Overall good place and would come again.

Specialty Museums
The Merapi Volcano Museum is a modern educational museum located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It features exhibits dedicated to the Mt. Merapi volcano as well as other Indonesian and international volcanoes. Housed in a striking angular structure resembling a volcano, the museum showcases artifacts and ruins from the eruption of Mount Merapi, including a scale model and rock samples. Visitors can explore interactive modules, watch videos, and learn about mythologies related to the area's response to disasters.
Well maintained museum in Merapi Mountain area. The entrance fee is only 5K per person, you also can watch the documentet movie by paying extra fee 5K per person. This place is suitable for kiddos as they'll learn about history, how's volcano eruption happened and how to save their life during volcano eruption. There are a lot of simulator that they can try to lead their critical thinking. My favorite part is the kitchen that had swapped by "wedus gembel" or hot cloud during eruption and stories of the survivor. I need to hold my tears to not drop as it's so sad, they invite us to feel what they feel and how to grateful to God for saving their life during the terrible disaster. For people in Merapi, they believe that Merapi tak pernah ingkar janji (Merapi never break the promise).
Indah R — Google review
great information, not great upkeep (hard when the entrance free is only 5k). worth a stop if in the area. solid displays/exhibits about volcanic/geological fundamentals, detailed history of Merapi and Indonesian volcanoes in general. whole thing takes about 20 minutes. plenty of parking and good quality roads to get there. bathrooms have no toilet paper.
NoahJon M — Google review
Back in 2012, I often visited this place with my friend. At that time, it was always empty of visitors. I could take pictures freely without any disturbances. The only problem I encountered back then was that the roof leaked when it rained, but it seems to have been fixed now. A few days ago, I visited this place again, unfortunately, it's now crowded with visitors. Hopefully, those who visit the museum are mindful of cleanliness, avoid littering, and do not damage the exhibits.
Januar A — Google review
High recommended for museum tour. All about of Geology and Volcano education. The Merapi cinema was amazing, creative, great and cool... Recommended for kids, stundents, parents etc. The price is very cheap, only 5000 rupiah but worth it!
Lintang K — Google review
This is educative for children's. I like it very much. This impressive museum is located in a striking angular structure that resembles a volcano. Exhibits dedicated to Merapi include a scale model, which demonstrates eruptions from the 18th century until today and how they altered the mountain's shape. There are vintage seismometers on display, along with a motorbike excavated from molten ash. There's an earthquake simulator, a cinema screening the story of the 2010 eruption (10,000Rp) and profiles covering volcanoes of Indonesia and the world.
Amal A — Google review
The shape of the building is iconic. The museum is very educative. I spent more than an hour here just to explore the museum and read every caption. The installations are very interesting and some of them are interactive. They have some relicts from 2010's eruption of Mt. Merapi. This place is very recommended to you who visit Jogja, especially for students.
Sheilly Y — Google review
Entrance fee is 10,000rp for foreigners. Not a expensive museum and quite interesting but it’s really a shame that it’s not well maintained. On the ground floor some panel with lights are not working anymore. On the second floor you can see that there are a lot of leaking in the rooftop and humidity already started damaging the walls.
Christele F — Google review
Merapi Volcano Museum is a great exposition of the importance and the impact of Mt. Merapi to Yogyakarta! It has all the interactive modules and rooms that will provide you the right and essential information to understand how Yogyakarta, and Indonesia, responds and treats disasters. From videos, to sculptures, and eveb mythologies, the museum offers it all. Perhaps my most favorite part is the central model in the lobby of the mountain itself. The rock samples were also fascinating. To make the experience more impactful, get a tour guide and if you are lucky, get a geologist friend who speaks the language. Unfortunately, parts of the museum show disrepair. Mold has creeped into the fiberboard ceiling and some part have decated already. They also need to update their toilets. Although they have a souvenir shop, it is better if it can have its own store so it is more noticeable. I really hope they have future plans to renovate and modernise the facility! We don't want another eruption for them to revive their drive for risk education and communication!

The menu also features sautéed kale with papaya flowers and traditional snacks like lalampa and panada, all complemented by refreshing drinks such as hot lemon and iced lychee tea.

Nice live music and good free WiFi. Spacious dining halls with high chairs. Clean restrooms (with squat and Western style sitting toilets) and musholla. Fast and very helpful service. Abhayagiri is a tranquil restaurant located in the hills of a charming village in Prambanan, offering stunning views of the majestic Prambanan Temple and Mount Merapi. It offers global cuisine including Indonesian and international dishes such as Chicken Cajun, Bebek Kebuli, Oxtail Soup, Beef Wellington, and more.
Very nice place with spectacular view of Candi Prambanan and Mt. Merapi (when the sky is clear). All of the food was great and nicely presented. Kudos to all of the staffs especially Mr. Ahmed (sales banquet), Ms. Sofie (sales executive), Ms. Dini (PIC on duty at the day of our event), chefs, and the super helpful and friendly security team. Food is like just ok for their Indonesia fare…. service wise - staff not very attentive as there’s hardly anyone stationed at the outdoor dining area…. Ordered all our food at once and dessert was served before our main course… not asked not told about it… when asked if this can be served later, we were told it’s already made… process could have been better … Saving grace is the view.

The place has stunning views of Yogyakarta! But I’d recommend to come in the morning for breakfast/brunch or at the evening for tea time or dinner, otherwise the weather would be too hot. The food is taking a long time to come. The staff is helpful, but only to some selected groups. It’s incredibly pricey, but perhaps the views compensate the price.

Timbul Roso is a well-liked eco-friendly eatery situated on Jl. Cangkringan in Wukirsari, Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region. It provides a cozy ambiance enhanced by charming gazebos and serves an array of Indonesian delicacies as well as popular hearty meals, snacks, and beverages.
Very nice restaurant with so many old trees. You will feel like having lunch in the huge garden with so many big fish in their fish pond. Beautiful combination but you need a bit more patient as they will take a bit long to provide your order. But worth to try it.

A local restaurant with local taste. The food is quite good. It’s might be good to go with many people so you can enjoy more food.
Krittin ( — Google review
It used to be a popular garden restaurant with a rural atmosphere (especially with their gazebos), a variety of Indonesian and popular heavy meals, snacks and beverages. On my recent stop with my wife in a weekday afternoon, it was an empty and dead place, with a gloomy atmosphere, and when we came it took some time till someone appeared. We had lunch enjoying rice, grilled catfish, green chilli calamari, spice coffee, sweet iced lemon, ... perfect. Free boiled peanuts as welcome snack. A vast cool parking yard. A clean musholla. More minuses: the riverside dining hall looked unattended; the restrooms weren't so clean; no free WiFi; the cashier wasn't always available.
Raden S — Google review
I really love the fact that it is located in Cangkringan, where the air is fresh and calming. They let us book tables days before we come here. It is nice for family gathering. The meals are delicious. The place is beautiful. What's bothering me is the smell of the pond. It smells like fish. Well, technically every pond smells like it but it is more than the usual. Added to that, they need more hand soap for each wastafel since most of the meals they offer needs us to use hands instead of spoons and forks to eat.

Indonesian restaurant
Sasanti Restaurant is a romantic Indonesian restaurant that often serves as a wedding venue. The food here is delicious, with varieties including sate, bebek bekak, nasi langgi, and ayam betutu. The service is good and the atmosphere is nice. However, the prices are high compared to other restaurants in the area.
The food here is a true testament to refined skill, with each dish showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Every bite feels thoughtfully crafted, with ingredients that shine and complement each other beautifully. It’s clear that the chef has mastered their craft, delivering a dining experience that’s both satisfying and impressive.

Located near the Hyatt Hotel, this restaurant is about a 20–30 minute drive from the Central area. We visited as a pair and ordered an appetizer, soup, and two main dishes, with a total bill of 800k IDR. The dishes were well-prepared, and it’s a great place for those looking to enjoy authentic Indonesian cuisine. As Japanese diners, we found some of the flavors a bit strong or unique to our taste, but the shrimp was particularly delicious. Beer and wine are available, so you can also enjoy your meal with alcohol.

Had my 60 pax event at Sasanti and honestly, the food was so good! especially the mie godok, 5 Star! The vibe at night was really cozy, mewah and syahdu, tho the outdoor area was a bit hot. I booked the private room, but since the resto outside was packed, the servers were kinda overwhelmed. Felt like they were shortstaffed. Huge shoutout to Mas Fendi who literally hustled by himself Sales Manager was super helpful, professional, and the sweetest ever. Big thumbs up for that. Tysm miss! Also met the owner… let’s just say, maybe could’ve been a lil nicer. Overall, still a solid spot for hosting events. Just hope they add more staff next time so the service can match the good food. (And the price)

I don’t know how this isn’t a 5 - from the kind servers to the absolutely delicious food. Our favourites were the spicy prawns and the coconut beef platter, but honestly everything was stellar - flavourful, fresh, herbaceous, and fair portions. Beautiful, clean vibrant atmosphere as well.

We had a great dinner at Sastani and this must be the best meal my friend and I had in Yogyakarta. The food and service were par excellence. I think the chefs there must have cracked the gastronomy code to making food taste absolutely delicious!

Great food, good service, but slightly small portions for the price. Live music plays from 2-5pm most days.
