Borobudur Temple is a renowned 9th-century Buddhist monument located in the Kedu Valley, Central Java. It is considered the largest Buddhist temple globally and was built during the reign of the Syailendra Dynasty. The main stupa is constructed in three tiers around a natural hill, featuring a pyramidal base with five square terraces, a cone-shaped trunk with circular platforms, and a monumental stupa at the top.
Borobudur Temple is an absolutely incredible place to visit, brimming with historical and architectural grandeur. Situated gracefully on the lush plains of Central Java, this UNESCO World Heritage site impresses with its stupendously ornate stone reliefs, tiered structure, and serene ambiance. Each level of the monument—representing the journey from the earthly realm to enlightenment—is rich with symbolic carvings that tell timeless stories and invite quiet reflection. To enhance the quality of your experience, especially given the tropical climate, I highly recommend visiting during the cooler hours—early morning offers a gentle light that beautifully illuminates the carved figures and misty surroundings, while late afternoon can bathe the stone in warm golden hues, making it ideal for photography and contemplation. Avoid the midday heat to ensure your comfort and to fully appreciate the temple’s intricate artistry. The site is exceptionally well organized, starting from the parking areas to the internal visitor facilities. The parking area is spacious, clearly marked, and efficiently managed, easing the transition from arrival to exploration. Inside, you’ll find clean restrooms, ample seating spots, informative signage, and helpful staff to guide you. There are also shaded areas and small cafés or kiosks nearby, allowing for comfortable breaks during your visit. In summary, Borobudur Temple is a must‑see cultural jewel—architecturally majestic, spiritually resonant, and thoughtfully maintained. Just plan your visit during the cooler parts of the day to get the most out of this unforgettable site. Whether you’re a history buff, photographer, or spiritual seeker, Borobudur offers a profoundly memorable journey that transcends mere sightseeing.

A really awesome experience. The infrastructure around the temple is pretty top notch, roomy clean, modern. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The temple itself is simply awesome. A bit like Angkor Wat, but obviously not the same. As of September 2025 you can climb the structure all the way to the top. Not too crowded, but there are lots of tourists, obviously.
Bobby C — Google review
Borobudur Temple is absolutely breathtaking — truly one of the most awe-inspiring places I’ve visited in Indonesia. The scale, detail, and history behind this temple are just incredible. Walking up through the different terraces as the sun rises, surrounded by mist and the sound of birds, is something that feels almost spiritual. Every level reveals new carvings and stories, and the view from the top is unforgettable. That said, the guided tour could have been better. Our guide was kind and enthusiastic, but unfortunately very difficult to follow — his explanations were rushed and not very clear, so most of the group ended up wandering off and exploring on our own. It’s a shame, because with a bit more structure and clear storytelling, the tour could have really brought the temple’s history to life. Even so, Borobudur is a must-visit. Whether or not you get a great guide, the atmosphere and beauty of the site more than make up for it. If you visit, I’d recommend either reading a bit about the temple’s background beforehand or using an audio guide, so you can better appreciate what you’re seeing. A truly remarkable place — just wish the guided experience matched the magic of the monument itself. 🌅
Karim — Google review
This is a must see. Purchase your tickets online closing the convenient time.slot as well as the option of going to the top. You will be assigned for a tour guide inside the temple and he will explain all the story about it giving as well some details from what u see. It is really worth visiting knowing All the history and to see all nice views and also for nice photos. Electric cars are punctual and on on time to get you from entrance to the temple entrance. There is as well a big souvenirs shops market at that area. Highly recommended but during the day it can be very hot and sunny so bring an umbrella and/or hat and sunscreen. And prepare yourself to be given a slipper and put your shoes in a bag (they take care of everything at entrance and it is included in the climbing ticket).
Assala J — Google review
Good to be back to history — such an iconic place that always feels timeless. The area is well-organized and clean. To reach the temple, you can choose between taking a paid buggy ride or the free electric shuttle — both eco-friendly options, which is great. The only downside is the way out — it feels a bit like a maze since you have to walk through a long souvenir market before exiting. Still, it’s worth the visit for the beauty and serenity of Borobudur itself. ✨

Borobudur Temple was on my bucket list. And I made to visit it. Some pros: - absolutely amazing art and experience (of course not comparable to Angkor Wat- lets say nothing can beat AW) - tickets for 15:30 actually are for sunset, and this is best time to enjoy the sun extracting colors from the temple. - we bought tickets for Temple Structure, which allows to climb to the top, and include buggy ride. Are 40k IDR more expensive - ticket includes shoes (kind of bamboo flip flops), and bottle of water CONS: - overpriced! 455k IDR (25$) because you’re foreigner (75k IDR for local) - a lot of hustle and bustle around for taxi, souvenirs etc - guide was enough - EXIT is a NIGHTMARE, as you need to get thorough maze of really pushy sellers, which makes me panic to get out of there! Outside- another group pushing for taxi, some souvenirs. Please respect our „NO thank you” boundaries, as we- foreigners- are respecting your prices, places and culture. Whatever good impressions I had, they got lost with going through exit. TIPS: 1. Only Structure Tickets, buy online in advance 2. Preferably entrance at 15:30 3. Take extra water with you 4. Keep calm and move on through maze of shops to get to the desired exit.
Ula H — Google review
Highly recommend to visit here. Everything is included with 455k entrance fee. Water, slippers to Protect the temple and a guide is included. They schedule by group per hour. Organized and helpful guides. You can also asked the guards for pictures they know how to take it.

Borobudur has its amazing history. This is my second visit. This latest visit. I found that the park management has imposed two different access ticket to access until the candi. Previously was only one fares for all. The management told in verbal that they want to RESTRICT number of visitors. I'm my personal opinion is better to close it from public. The management make the tourist walk to shop with all paths from the entrance path. The management has offered half way free shuttle and when come back, the management ask visitors to walk more. So charged for buggy serives

Punthuk Setumbu is a popular spot in Central Java known for its breathtaking sunrise views of the Borobudur Temple and the surrounding mountains. It involves a steep hike at dawn, offering sweeping panoramic vistas. The area is also home to other famous destinations like Semarang Old Town, Batu Raden, and Candi Mendut Temple, making it an ideal location for travelers seeking diverse experiences.
Catch the breathtaking sunrise from this spot, where you’ll be treated to a stunning view of the legendary Borobudur Temple and the majestic Mount Merapi. It's a popular destination, especially during holidays and weekends, so expect a lively crowd. The hike to the top, though paved, presents a challenge for amateur hikers—requiring a good level of fitness. But don’t worry, the panoramic views that await at the summit make every step of the climb worth the effort!

I went in May 2025.. the night before was raining… I was blessed with good sunrise and misty with sea of clouds.. the view was so beautiful ..we have been walking up to Setumbu hill from car park to the top about 15mins. There is stone staircases and lights along the way we trekked..
Tracy T — Google review
We never get to see the sea of clouds when we went here but still grateful for a nice weather and sunset. Climbing the stairs uptop is not so fun.
Joneaj B — Google review
Located just 30 minutes from Yogyakarta, Punthuk Setumbu offers a stunning sunrise view in the morning. The path to the top is elderly-friendly and very safe—I went when it was slightly raining, and it was still manageable. However, you’ll need to plan ahead and check the weather forecast, as some days can be too cloudy for a clear sunrise. Overall, it’s a beautiful experience and definitely worth the wait!
Fauzan R — Google review
It is about a 10 minute hike on paved path + stairs to the top. Parking is 10k, entrance is 20k for locals and 50k for foreigners. A lot of people up here so forget about serene experience on a weekend. There’s a cafe at the top that serve coffee and tea. There are several benches, chairs, and raised garden bed edges that you can sit on. Since the sun rises from behind the mountains, it will be visible about 15 minutes later than usual. The old walking path that leads straight to gereja ayam has been overgrown, but there is a local bike path that you can use if you want to walk there. 29/06/25

Great spot to watch the sunrise. We got lucky on our second attempt and had a beautiful sunrise with merapati volcano visible in the foreground.
Graeme H — Google review
This is a good spot to watch the Sunrise with a view of Mt Merapi and Borobudur Temple. Apparently it is not a busy as some other viewing areas (hills). The climb whilst paved and stepped is not insignificant. A reasonable level of fitness is required. Alternatively take it slowly, and give yourself more time to make the ascend.

Bukit Rhema Gereja Merpati Putih, also known as the Chicken Church, is a unique 7-story prayer house shaped like a bird located on Setumbu Hill in Magelang, Java. The building's resemblance to a chicken has earned it the nickname 'Chicken Church.' It gained popularity after being featured in the Indonesian movie Ada Apa Dengan Cinta 2.
Probably enjoyed it more than the main temple 5 minutes away! Much cheaper to get in. Had my own personal guide to show me around the building! It's a very interesting story and it's lucky that the chicken temple ever existed at all.... You get a free snack. The restaurant sells everything with chicken, and some veggie options. The views are across the mountains and valley below. A steep climb up.

A beautiful view from the top and of course interesting architecture. The cafe in the back is very affordable with a great view too. We came after Borodur in the morning and enjoyed an hour or so here to see the church, rest, and enjoy lunch.
Cameron C — Google review
This is my favorite on the tour. We never get to see the sunrise in the hill and here it’s so fun! I don’t know which places we were going too and was shocked when my friend said that it was not a chicken. Laughed so hard. I also loved the free food! The cassava we got here is very tasty!
Joneaj B — Google review
A very beautiful place with a meaningful message - that people of different faiths can all come together harmoniously and share a place of worship. We ended up staying much longer than expected. The architecture and design of the place was mesmerising - especially on the interior. There was so much to see and explore, and so many beautiful and meaningful messages to absorb. I do not consider myself a religious person, but when I was in the building, the vibes felt very serene, peaceful, and spiritual. The people working there, including the people at the cafe (something else I did not expect and wish I had included in my plans - a meal there) were all very friendly and contributed towards the positive energy felt all around. As a bonus, views from the top were breathtaking! I wish we were able to spend at least another couple of hours there, and included a meal there as part of the itinerary for the day.
Melvin L — Google review
Ticket is 25k per person includes fried cassava you can exchange at the cafe. It also includes a quick tour of the building, in which you can learn of the history and use of the building. Mostly debunking the more popular name of the building, Gereja Ayam. It is neither a church or a chicken, it is a house of prayer for all religions. The cafe has a nice view, the weather is nice in the morning, and the watercolor paintings at the second floor are so beautiful.
Hanny J — Google review
Very interesting and great to experience. Love the idea of a place to worship for every one of any religion. The history on the tour was fascinating and the view from the top is incredible. Definitely worth a stop when in the area.

Pawon Temple is a 9th-century rectangular temple adorned with intricate reliefs, constructed from mountain rocks. It was part of the pilgrimage route for Buddhists during the early medieval period until it was abandoned in the 1400s CE for debated reasons. The capital of the Mataram Kingdom moved away due to volcanic eruptions, possibly diminishing its significance as a pilgrimage center.
Very basic Temple in the local community. Gives you a good idea of the smaller scale temple dotted all over the region during that period. Now the area has changed to Islam faith. Historically the place was Hindu Buddhist. All depends on the rulers of the time. Still the locals are very peaceful and friendly.
Win T — Google review
Very tiny temple as you can see almost everything from the outside n it's one of the the three temples in Borobudur proximity. You are recommended to skip this one, by focusing more on the largest peer, Borobudur n another nearby Mendut temple. Not quite worth the entrance fee for foreigners.
Lyda H — Google review
We visited this small temple near Borobudur. There is a single building which can be viewed from outside without a ticket. There were some persistent street vendors here which was rather unpleasant. Otherwise, the luwak coffee place across the road is worth a visit.
S C — Google review
A small Buddhist temple with a low fence surrounded by a small road (entry ticket: IDR 10,500.-) not so far from the world-famous Borobudur temple. Actually it's free as long as you don't enter the fence. I wanted to pay the entry ticket, but the ticket box was vacant (the ticket guy came up from somewhere after someone called him). Not much to see (unless you're an expert). There was even nothing in the chamber inside the temple (no lingga+yoni or statue). Local shops around the temple offer gifts and souvenirs. A very small parking shelter for one or two motorbikes. No parking lot for cars and restroom of its own, and a local resident's house offers paid parking and restroom. No musholla, but 90 m away is a clean two-floor mosque (Al-Mujahidin).
Raden S — Google review
Unfortunately the temple was under restoration so had scaffolding around it. I certainly don't think they should charge the 30,500 to get in. If you just want a photo then you can take it from outside. I though this was like a lot of temples were there are several in the complex but it is just the one.
Graeme H — Google review
Nice restored little temple. Will run you about a dollar to get in. Will take about 10 minutes to take in every little detail including the rare corbelled dome of the interior. The vendors outside though can get a little pushy

The Pawon Temple (Candi Pawon) is a small, but historically significant, Buddhist temple located in Central Java, Indonesia. It is an integral part of the larger Borobudur Temple Compounds, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here are the key details about Pawon Temple: Location and Context Location: Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia, situated in the village of Wanurejo, Borobudur District. The Borobudur Temple Compounds: Pawon Temple is one of three Buddhist temples—along with Borobudur and Mendut—that are situated on a single, straight axis, suggesting a deep symbolic and ritual connection. Pawon is located roughly midway between the other two:Approximately 1.75 km from Borobudur (to the northeast). Approximately 1.15 km from Mendut (to the southwest). Ritual Significance:It is believed that the temple served to purify the mind before a pilgrim proceeded to the grander Borobudur. It is still a stop on the annual Vesak (Waisak) ritual procession, where Buddhists walk from Mendut, pass Pawon, and end at Borobudur. History and Name Dynasty and Date: It was built in the 8th–9th centuries AD during the reign of the Sailendra Dynasty, which also constructed Borobudur and Mendut. mortuary temple (*Per-awu-an*, a place that contains dust or ashes) for a king of the Sailendra dynasty, possibly King Indra. Local Name ("Bajranalan"): Locals also call it *Candi Bajranalan*, derived from the Sanskrit words *Vajra* (thunderbolt) and *Anala* (fire/flame), translating to "The Flaming Thunderbolt." This name suggests a connection to King Indra's weapon. Architecture and Artistry Design:The small temple stands on a square base and is noted for its relative simplicity, symmetry, and harmony, which has led historians to call it "the jewel of Javanese temple architecture." Reliefs and Carvings: The temple features exquisite stone carvings, including: Kala-Makara: Decorative carvings often found above entrances and on the sides of stairs in classic Javanese temples, serving a protective function. Bodhisattvas and Taras: Reliefs of male and female enlightened beings decorate the outer walls. Kalpataru (Tree of Life): A prominent relief of the mythical wish-fulfilling tree, flanked by the celestial creatures Kinnara and Kinnari*(half-human, half-bird figures). God Kuvera: Carvings of Kuvera, the Buddhist God of Wealth and Fortune, are found on the outer walls, leading some to believe the shrine may have been dedicated to him. Interior:The inner chamber is empty and has a square basin in the center. Its original purpose is debated, but one theory suggests it once housed a bronze Bodhisattva statue or the ashes of a king.

It features a diverse range of attractions including rare plant collections, dinosaur sculptures, various games, and prototype aircraft for research purposes. Visitors can also enjoy regional art performances and music shows.
Suitable for a child... Best place for healing. From when I was young until now I have 2 kids always feel fresh in here. There's so many tree, with so many kind of tree. Parking lot is limited and so many illegal parking around here. The most I like from this place is the kindness of the people. Owh... Make sure you bring cash money, if you don't want in line to long.

Easy to find the location and the price for the ticket is affordable and reasonable. Its located in the middle of the city but its looks like we are at the place close to the hill. No wonder, Magelang is a cold city. So, yeah, the weather is enak nggo dolan-dolan. Haha. This place is suitable for kids in kindergarten or elementary ages. The food here is good. The canteen was available almost everywhere. Unfortunately the cleanliness was not so good. Not because the cleanjng attendant doesnt do their work well, but its because the guest doesnt put their litter right on the dust bin.

A popular park for family recreation in Kemirirejo, Central Magelang District, Magelang City, Central Java Province. I came here twice long ago with my family, colleagues and students. There was a swimming pool with a water boom. A minizoo presented a small collection of birds in a dome and exotic animals in cages. Other attractions included a car ride and a miniricksaw (becak) for children, rafting at the River Progo, and amusement rides (roller coaster, etc). Once I attended a graduation party at a large outdoor gazebo. Spacious parking lot for motorbikes, cars and buses. Clean toilets and musholla (moslem prayer place). The place was vast, so it needed energy for parents, and it could be scorching during a hot day.
Raden S — Google review
Reminding that wide area, I personally think that the entrance ticket isn't expensive. Only 24k/person (> 3 years old inc). You can have some free facilities, such mini train, water train, carousel, etc. Food and beverages are provided inside, and not thaat expensive.

The best place with a lot of playing ground for kids, and inside Taman there is tomb of Kiayi Langgeng ( the teacher of Prince 👑of Dipenegoro). If you come and want to to spend overnight ⛺, don't worry a lot of hotel around.

A nice park and full of ride. Some of them are paying ride, but most of them aren't. A lot of trees. I saw couple of reptiles dead in the mini zoo, and it smells so bad. I'll give 5 star if you treat the animal well.

Taman Kiai Langgeng is a park attraction located in the city of Magelang, Central Java province. Almost all the vehicles in Kyai Langgeng Park are attracted by tourists, especially the water boom and water park. Water rides are still a community favorite every holiday season. Kedai Bukit Rhema is a popular dining spot located inside Bukit Rhema. Despite being a bit crowded, the service is quick and the prices are reasonable. The food receives mixed reviews, with some dishes like fried chicken and caramel macchiato receiving praise while others like banana fritters fall short. However, many visitors appreciate the convenience of having this eatery within Bukit Rhema.
This restaurant is located in the church, with beautiful scenery and reasonable prices. The free snacks included in the ticket can also be obtained here. Recommend coming up to their terrace where you can fully see the Sumbing volcano
Miya M — Google review
Kedai Bukit Rhema is a charming eatery located within the iconic Bukit Rhema area, known for its stunning panoramic views. This spot is a perfect place to relax and soak in the serene surroundings while enjoying a meal or drink. The café frequently offers various promotions, which makes it an attractive option for visitors looking for budget-friendly deals. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the ambiance here feels special, as the café is perched in one of the most picturesque spots in Magelang. While the view and atmosphere are undoubtedly the highlights of Kedai Bukit Rhema, the food itself is quite average in terms of taste. The menu is simple, offering a mix of snacks and meals, but it may not stand out compared to other culinary experiences in the area. However, given the affordability and the regular promos, it’s still worth a visit for those who prioritize a stunning backdrop over gourmet dining. The setting truly enhances the experience. Whether you’re visiting for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee break, the natural scenery around the café makes up for the relatively standard food quality. It’s an ideal spot for relaxing after exploring the famous “Gereja Ayam” (Chicken Church) and other attractions in the area. Overall, Kedai Bukit Rhema is a place worth visiting for the breathtaking views and wallet-friendly promos. While the food may not be the star of the show, the tranquil ambiance and scenic location make it a memorable stop on your journey.

Please note you need to pay entrance fee rp25000 per person and if you take the transport it's rp15000. All we wanted was to have coffee and to pay entrance fee is asking for a lot. Didn't mind the transport fee. Coffee was ok. Entrance fee gets you free tapioca but really nothing much to see once you are there. There is a view of the mountain but worth the entrance fee

This place is a hidden gem. Technically it's not a church, but a place for prayers of all religions. Anyone is welcome here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They will guide you and explain the history why there is a "chicken" in the middle of the Forrest. You can see the Borobudur temple from here. The food is great and well of taste. Definitely worth to come here and visit.

You can enjoy a cup of coffee with a view from above. There are plenty of food menus you can choose from, and you can sit indoors or outdoors. outdoor seating is recommended so you can enjoy your food with a natural view. The place is clean and neat, the toilet is also clean.

Really nice ambience but it does get a bit warm as there’s no fan. The view is great though. The strawberry milk 🥛 tastes good! The fried banana is a bit thicker than expected though. There’s also quite a long waiting time even though we were the only customers.

Beautiful restaurants with wonderful view of landscape, nice interiors design also smart choosing for furniture and space positions. Calm and relaxing, service was good but lil bit pricey for local tourist since it kinda focusing for international tourist. Food was not satisfying, less portion and taste far from expetation like not equal to the cost. Even they don't put mineral water on the menu so u have to ask for it, the reason cuz it might too cheap. Children menu need to revamp, kids need more than just protein, especially processed food serving with no vegetable and fiber. They also provide many toys for kids to play with family so it help parents while ordering for food or enjoying the day. Again, cost to spend more just for the view than for meal.

Went to this Kedai because of the reviews but I feel it's overrated. Didn't like the idea of having to pay for transport to get to the front entrance despite having my own car. We are 'forced' to park in their parking area and was offered a chargeable transfer service or walked a steep 45 degree road. I also didn't like the idea of being charged entrance fee to the attraction just for having lunch in the Kedai. Yes! The food was good so can't complain about it but still feel that we shouldn't be charged for the transfer and the entrance fee just to have lunch there.

Diner
Rumah Makan Padang Uni Yani offers a delicious array of Nasi Padang dishes with a wide variety to choose from. The restaurant provides an extensive selection of chicken dishes, including fried, curry, grilled, and baked options. Additionally, they offer an assortment of other delectable dishes such as cow heart, beef rendang, grilled fish, and begedil. The food is fresh and flavorful while the service is friendly and efficient.
The nicest Nasi Padang Resto around Borobudur temple. The cleanliness, the taste, and the price is good and worth the money.

Pretty tasty nasi padang, with a wide variety of choices. For example, for chicken dishes alone, they had it fried, in curry, grilled, baked etc. After you select a seat, they will come with a wide array of dishes for your selection, including cow heart, beef rendang, grilled fish and begedil, a type of fried potato pancake. The food was fresh, if some of the pieces were on the tough side, and service was friendly and quick.

Buffet restaurant
The buffet restaurant Restoran Pringgondani offers a great selection of Indonesian and European food. The appetizer is good, the main course is yummy, and the dessert is the best part. There is also a nice view of the surrounding countryside from the restaurant.
Just like its Javanese name, this restaurant is traditionally built to perfectly blend with the hilly panoramic view of the overlooking river and green atmosphere. Sitting in the balcony with your delighted and well served breakfast or lunch, you will find it relieving, comforting, and amusing. Not to mention the various menus that will suit your appetite...

This were my third or fourth visit after a long time ago, and they’re certainly have improving a lot compared to 20 years ago? they’re now giving you complimentary dinner too. And for dinner tonight is quite packed, the atmosphere is nice, great selection of foods. But despite their various selection of food, the only things that hot are just their tea and coffee the other foods are pretty cold. That’s one of the main reason I gave them 3 stars, the other reason is their music is too loud.

One of best resto in Magelang. It is inside Puri Asri Hotel. Near with Borobudur and beside Kyai Langgeng. So, if you need get lost a while, you can go here, stay in their hotel and must try their food, especially their desserts! Very yummy!

Restaurant
Stupa Restaurant, located within the Plataran Borobudur Resort & Spa complex, offers a luxurious and aesthetically pleasing dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating that seamlessly blends with nature. The restaurant boasts a delightful view of the rice fields and even provides a glimpse of the tops of the Borobudur temple. It is renowned for its diverse menu featuring traditional Indonesian cuisine that tantalizes the taste buds.
Had a great dinner here after a long day of touring the area. The satay was lovely, well seasoned and tender. The fish was perfect and freshly grilled. Loved the coconut rice. Service was great and loved sitting outside and taking in the night air. Definitely recommend.

Stupa Restaurant is the dining venue at Plataran Heritage Borobudur, a five-star hotel—so you can already imagine the quality of the experience. We ordered Mi Goreng, a chicken dish, and some sides, all of which were perfectly cooked—well-seasoned, grilled, and fried to perfection. The service was outstanding. Every staff member greeted us with warm smiles, serving us in a manner that was both friendly and polite. Overall, I was thoroughly satisfied with my dining experience at Stupa Restaurant.

Stopping by here with Colleague after visiting Borobudur. Welcome us with a big smiles, very friendly staff and great environment too. The food taste great and big portion. The restaurant also served us with Welcoming drinks, keropok and Taufu. Overall great experience to dine here.

The restaurant was good to dine during dinner. The food were in the standard of Plataran restaurant anywhere, even tasted similar like in Jakarta. With also similar menu to choose from. But again, it is Plataran-standard not like how the locals cooked. Thus should you prefer local taste, kindly drive yourself to nearby restaurant. We can use google maps or just use google to find a good one. Service was good, just like we experienced during breakfast. Price-wise, this is Plataran. A five-star hotel. Expect a higher price compare to local restaurant. But overall, we will only return to Plataran in Jakarta. We dine here in Heritage only during our visit. Thank you anyway.

Nice place to have a dinner in this restaurant. The views in the night was awesome. With so many small lighting and a lot of trees and small rice fields create a villagers environment. Peaceful and romantic. You also can book a room to stay at Palataran hotel and in the morning you will see Borobudur Temple in a few distance. The quality of the food also OK, a bit pricey as this restaurant located inside of the 5 stars hotel. It's good to bring your family here to enjoy the rural atmosphere.

• Great food with nice view, especiall in the late afternoon. • The menus are variuos, international and local meal. It gives welcoming snack too. The food tastes good and worth the cost we pay. • Best suitable for not-so large group of people. For couple is still recommended. • Located in rural area. Use your google maps or waze to reach there. • Quite pricy. For 2 person can spend 300k tp 500k for normal meal and beverage. • The staffs are friendly and helpful. • Need to watch the cleanliness and hygiene in some parts of the restaurant, especially after rain.

We had an amazing experience at Stupa restaurant. We would like to especially show our thanks to Isti. She was a wonderful server, very personal and warm. She was amazing with allergies and preferences and made the whole dinner remarkable. Isti is one of the best employees we have experienced so far. Thanks a lot Isti!

Good authentic Indonesian cuisine. Attentive polite service staff. Clean conducive environment. Tahu Telor is very good with the perfect balance of flavour and texture further enhanced by the peanut sauce. A must try. Tempe mendoan is simply prepared, just simply fried with garlic and salt but it taste heavenly especially with the Sambal chilli. Their signature dish Gurami bakar 2 rasa is to die for. The dessert was unfortunately their weak point. Imbalanced flavours with overpowering sweetness making one turn Diabetic.
