Fukiware Falls is a picturesque waterfall measuring 7 meters high and 30 meters wide. It is accompanied by a suspension bridge that offers great views of the falls. The location charges Y1000 yen for parking, which can be used to purchase items from nearby shops such as apples or miso. There is also free parking available at the traffic light just south of the falls. This spot boasts breathtaking beauty throughout the year, with autumn being particularly impressive due to its vivid colors.
Spectacular and unique slot canyon falls, especially in the autumn foliage. The hiking loop was worth it (go anti-clockwise) and provided various views of the falls. Took about an hour to go around maybe 2-3 km.

Fukiware Falls is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a serene escape from urban life. Its dynamic beauty, coupled with accessible trails and nearby attractions, makes it a perfect day trip or weekend getaway. Whether you're capturing the misty cascades on camera or simply soaking in the tranquil ambiance, Fukiware Falls promises an unforgettable experience.
Anisur Z — Google review
A set of stunning waterfalls! It's a bit out of the way, but it was definitely worth it; especially with 30°C weather. The water is very clear, and the walkway is literally next to thr waterfall. The only way to get closer is by falling in. Aside from the path right next to the waterfall, there's also a path along a pair of bridges, leading around to the other side of the river. Plenty of parking nearby as well, but all of it is paid parking; our parking spot was 500 yen.
Guy — Google review
The waterfall cuts through the rocks in a dramatic way, almost like the earth has split open. The walking trail around the gorge offers great views of the falls and the surrounding cliffs. It’s especially beautiful in autumn when the leaves change color. The area is clean and well maintained, and the staff at the visitor center are friendly. Definitely worth the trip if you enjoy nature and scenic walks. The only downside is that there’s a constant announcement to be careful around the falls, which is replayed in 3 languages every 2 minutes, which gets annoying. There’s a paid parking lot at the entrance for 500 yen, but if you drive a minute further, you’ll find free parking.
Bahareh — Google review
Visited Fukiware Falls on a weekday and found the walk to be quite nice, with pleasant scenery along the way. However, you can’t get a perfect view of the waterfall since there are restricted areas you’re not allowed to cross. There’s also a loud, repetitive announcement about safety warnings that takes away a bit from the natural atmosphere. Overall, it’s an interesting stop but a bit overhyped, especially if you’re expecting a quiet nature experience.
Mohammad M — Google review
Very nice and unique falls in the nature. Around 15 minutes from Kawaba City. Also not too crowded. You also can do a round hike for around 30 minutes - 1 hour. You can park very closely for only 500 yen. No entry cost. So if you like nature and water, definitely recommended! Also around 2-3 hours from Tokyo.
Ryusei H — Google review
Nice walk around the impressive falls, rapids and whirlpools. The river has a strong current, and the geological formations were interesting to observe. There is a walking circuit, but it was partially closed, so we walked back and forth to the parking lot. There are no rails, so be careful when walking as the water and mist can make the rocks slippery.
Aníbal M — Google review
Wow this is one of the widest waterfalls ive ever seen here in Japan. It is so easy to get here and you can use your IC card as well. You have to take off at Fukiware no Taki Bus stop so you can start seeing the view of the falls from bottom up to the bridge. There is also a round track way going back. It is so enchanting, really. I love it! Aside from that, the tourist spot is free. It doesnt have entrance fee. 🥰

At Kajitsu no Sato Harada Farm, located in Numata, visitors can experience a delightful fruit-picking adventure. The farm is known for its wide variety of fruits such as strawberries, cherries, peaches, grapes, and apples. After enjoying the fun of picking fresh fruits, guests can visit the farm shop to indulge in delectable treats made from the harvested produce.
We drop by here as part of the tour. We enjoyed the snow crab meal. They also have here fresh fruits, vegetables and souvenirs such as breads, chocolate and preserves

Not too impressed with their all-you-can-eat snow crab at the second floor restaurant, which mostly patrons were tour bus tourists. The strawbery you-pick farm was very good though.

Local produce and fresh fruits shop with basic cafe and toilets available. Prices are not cheap but nice to stop by for a short break from driving.

Wonderful place for Cherry Picking, held from end-May to mid-June. We came on the first Sunday of June, and had a great dayout here! (2.5 hours drive from Tokyo, and plenty of carparking space)
Benjamin Y — Google review
Very interesting farm with a market and a restaurant. You can choose a apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and strawberry picking session with including lunch. Pre-booking is needed. Highly recommended.
Nadeesha W — Google review
Went there for strawberry picking. Unforgettable experience. Its an education tour for my children as they love strawberries. For muslims, no halal food except for the fruits they harvest and sell themselves. Tour guide told us that in starting June there will be grapes picking and before June will be strawberries...
Fadly S — Google review
There are a lot of local products and seasonal fruits. Huge restroom. Friendly staff and service. I always visit every time going nearby.

Great escape from Tokyo, you get to eat one peach on the field and take two home - depending on the season you will find apples, cherries, blueberries etc. Good stuff

Tambara Ski Park is a family-friendly resort that offers various activities including snowboarding, skiing, and a snow park. It has eight runs suitable for beginners and experienced skiers alike, as well as a kids' area for young children. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the beautiful lavender fields in the surrounding area. The facilities are top-notch and the staff is friendly and helpful. This ski resort has received positive feedback from many customers who plan on returning due to their enjoyable experience.
This was the last stop of our Gunma tour last February so we had just a little time to spend here. This was a fun snow resort, I really loved the sledding experience. I would love to come back if the opportunity allows.

Wonderful snow and slopes, well maintained, Almost all natural snow, Far on the mountain so access is difficult. Gets very crowded because of popularity.
Mohammad F — Google review
This is also a summer destination. Went here End of July 2018. Hills were full of flowers. There were a lot lavenders already but they were probably 2 weeks short of full bloom. It has a restaurant where you can eat near the park’s entrance. There is also a locker area and clean restrooms. Near the entrance there are expansive flower beds. You can also take a cable car to further go up the mountain. On the higher slopes there are also restaurants and rest areas to sit. Weather is very cool even during summers but there is no need to bring a jacket. Bring sun block and hats as sun is very strong.
AJ J — Google review
We wend there in summer season. Sunflower garden was so beautiful and there was lavender too. Lavender ice-cream was the best ice-cream that I ever had. was super delicious.

Really nice runs for the novice/beginners with a few black runs. So here's the trick though... Buy a one way ticket (500¥) which will get you on the lift to the very top of the mountain (there's a midway lift that will take you all the way up after you get off the initial lift). Then, take the green or red runs to the halfway portion of the mountain (that second lift I was just talking about). There's no one there checking tickets so you can just keep going up to the top and back to the midway point over and over. That run to the midway point is decent and long enough with different routes so you don't get bored and the lift back to the top each time is free! We only paid 500¥ and went up on the lift from the midway point to the top like 7 or 8 times. Only paid 500¥ for the entire day! Can't beat it. 1000¥ parking though. 😉

Recently, the Tanbara Ski Park has been empty and the weather has been really nice, so I was able to snowboarding very comfortably 😆 This year, there is a lot of snow and the snow is soft, so even beginners can enjoy it!
Sho N — Google review
Probably the best ski park in Gunma. Runs for both beginners and intermediate riders. Jumps and boxes for advanced riders. I wish it had a dedicated terrain park with jumps, boxes, rails, etc. though. The food is also good. Best place to rent gear. Boards and boots are always high quality. I feel like guys always get girly boards though.
Billy G — Google review
Went in the month of March and guide told us the weather was getting hotter. At the park itself, they provided stations with equipments for us to enjoy the activities. Definately worth the 3 hour trip from Tokyo for a family like us who have not seen any snow before.

Tambara Lavender Park

Botanical garden
Tambara Lavender Park is a hillside park that boasts over 50,000 lavender shrubs in full bloom from mid-July to mid-August. The park also features a variety of other flowers like sunflowers and hydrangeas, offering visitors a colorful floral display. During winter, the area transforms into a beginners' ski slope. Additionally, the park offers aerial views through a chair lift and is located about 20km from the Numata IC exit.
Our visit to Tambara Lavender Park on August 2 was such a refreshing summer experience! 🌿💜 We took the free shuttle from Numata Station, which made the trip super convenient and stress-free. Upon arrival, we were happy to use the 50% off admission coupon, making the visit even better. We rode the lift going up to the lavender fields, and the view was absolutely beautiful — you can see the mountains, trees, and the soft purple lavender from above. It felt calm and relaxing, like a mini escape from the city. 🚡✨ Even in early August, the lavender was still in bloom, filling the air with a soft fragrance. Walking through the fields was peaceful, and we enjoyed taking lots of photos at the scenic spots. Of course, we didn’t miss the lavender ice cream — subtly floral and perfect for a summer treat! 🍦🪻

It is the peak bloom now. It's still extremely hot when there are no clouds, so be sure to keep cool. 1200 yen is kind of expensive, and for some reason we can't find our souvenir photo. :( but I can't give less stars for the perfect lavender and flower displays during peak bloom this year!
Skyy S — Google review
The landscaping and collection of flowers is amazing. I visited this place in mid July and all the flowers were in full bloom. Although it was raining that day, we thought that we will not be able to enjoy but the beauty was mesmerising
Akhil P — Google review
We were here on a rainy day. But there were lots of free umbrellas and we need not to bring our own. Recommend to check weather and come on your own private vehicle.

Conveyor belt sushi restaurant
Kappa Sushi has undergone improvements in both taste and quality, despite a slight increase in prices. The renovated interior exudes a modern Japanese ambiance with spacious and comfortable tables. Security measures such as surveillance cameras have been implemented, and ordering through tablets has been streamlined for convenience. The restaurant's bright and clean environment defies its previous reputation of being inexpensive or subpar. Additionally, the availability of made-to-order gari adds to the confidence in enjoying meals there.
The best sushi place in Numata. I recommend stopping by for conveyor belt sushi cheap at 108 yen a plate for most stuff! But don't let the price dissuade you, it's very good quality sushi, and you can keep ordering till you're ready to leave.

(Translated by Google) Around May 2022 I ordered natural melted bonito, but what's the difference in the amount of green onions? In the first place, the amount is too different from the order image... I'm not making sushi at the moment, but the image on the lane is a little hard to see, but it's dirty with what looks like scattered stains. I think they should be a little more careful about hygiene. There seems to be a shortage of manpower, but I think it would be better to clean the store properly even if the store is closed...after all, it's a restaurant... I would like to see the quality of products become more uniform. I understand that male employees are also busy. If you keep someone waiting, I think it's okay to say something along the lines of "Sorry to have kept you waiting." March 2023 Since it has reopened, I went there for the first time in a while with high expectations. The problem is that there is only one conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Numata. Although the store is new, it seems that the structure of the store itself has not changed. From the 5th photo onwards, the natto rolls were actually remade. There seemed to be various problems at neighboring tables and the staff were constantly being called. I think it's difficult because there are various problems with conveyor belt sushi these days. The store side is not without its problems, so I hope they do their best.

(Translated by Google) The store is located along National Route 120, about 2 minutes from Numata IC on the Kanetsu Expressway. There are counter seats and box seats. The number of seats is approximately 200. Reservations can be made online, and take-out orders can also be made. You order using the touch panel and the lineart will bring the sushi to you, but sometimes the staff will bring the sushi to you. The time from ordering to arrival was a little slow, and I felt that the number of staff in the kitchen was unbalanced compared to the seating capacity. Please note that there may be mixed times during the tourist season. The interior of the restaurant, which has tables and a tatami room, is decorated with local items, perhaps in keeping with the old-style house. From the seats at the very back of the tatami room, you can see the river flowing right next to you, and enjoy a tasteful meal. The menu only has two a la carte dishes: different types of soba noodles, the main course, and sobagaki. They serve 100% buckwheat soba, made with domestically grown unpolished buckwheat flour ground by the owner in a stone mill. ⁡ Since we were visiting with a group of people that day, we ordered both tempura soba and duck soup soba. The tempura soba had a large enoki mushroom with its wings spread out, which made quite an impact. All the soba noodles were delicious. As it was 100% buckwheat, you could enjoy the rich aroma of the soba. The thick broth may be a matter of personal preference, but it goes well with the soba and doesn't interfere with the aroma. The voluminous tempura was also highly praised. The heavy oil was a bit of a concern, but it left me feeling satisfied and like I'd had a good meal of tempura! However, the overall quality was high and the food was just as tasty, but why? I didn't feel the "wow" that comes with eating delicious soba... I probably wouldn't have minded if I'd been eating it in town or in my neighborhood, but considering that I was eating soba in the mountains of Gunma, I felt something was missing. Perfect service, friendly staff and very delicious Soba Noodles. Very friendly also with foreigners although you must know basic Japanese to order.

The shop has a nice atmosphere, and the accessories, lamps, and retro fans are still in good condition. ・Sudachi soba 1,320 yen (tax included) A cup that shines in a radial pattern☆ Kirakkira Sudachi is shipped directly from a producer in Tokushima, and comes in two large pieces. The soba is said to be from Kitawase, Akagi Miyama in Gunma Prefecture, and harvested in July. Delicious the moment you put it in your mouth ☆ Of course, I got a second helping! One ticket is 550 yen. Refreshing sudachi soup and delicious soba noodles I was so happy that I could almost see it in a dream (lol) ・Maitake mushroom and vegetable tempura 480 yen (tax included) Maitake mushrooms, pumpkins, eggplants, onions, okra The vegetables are sweet and the batter is light and delicious tempura ☆ ・Tenseiro 1,650 yen (tax included) It was written that it comes with shrimp tempura, local maitake mushrooms, and 3-4 kinds of seasonal vegetables! ! ! (Translated by Google) My third visit The soba was as delicious as ever♡ The duck flavor was strong, and the duck meat was chewy and delicious. We were also given complimentary coffee after the meal. (Maybe it was just good timing) Regarding the customer service mentioned in the reviews Both the wife and husband were very kind and greeted us with a smile. When I was playing with my cell phone a little during the meal the husband who brought me the soba soup pointed out to me that "soba gets soft quickly, so it's better to eat it quickly," but it seemed like he was trying to be polite and choose his words carefully. I think it's because he wants people to eat the delicious soba while it's still delicious. It may have been worth it for people who had a bad experience with the customer service to post a review. (There are so many reviews about the customer service that I wonder if it can't be dismissed as a personal interpretation...) However, after removing the noren early, I was able to get a glimpse of the couple's personality as they talked harmoniously with the regular customers, which made me feel warm inside.

(Translated by Google) We arrived around 11:30 on a Saturday morning after visiting Tengu at Mirokuji Temple, but there were already other customers, so we were the second group to enter. We ordered "Zaru Soba with Shrimp Tempura" and "Omelette." The omelet came out relatively quickly, but the tempura and soba took about 30 minutes to arrive. The tempura was crispy and served with both tempura sauce and salt. Honestly, I was a little hesitant about eating tempura with salt, but when I actually tried it, it was surprisingly delicious, a new discovery for me. The Zaru Soba had a firm texture and was a satisfying, delicious dish. As for the restaurant's atmosphere, there was a sign at the entrance that read "No Children Allowed," which conveys the owner's desire for customers to enjoy their soba in peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. Fortunately, the other customers were quiet, so we were able to dine in peace. However, since the restaurant is run by a married couple, service is inevitably slow. Since I was the second group, I only had to wait about 30 minutes, but if you're the third or fourth group or later, you may have to wait over an hour. If you're impatient, it's best to line up before opening and secure your first or second group seats. Some reviews also mention that the younger customers were treated coldly, but this may be due to their attitude and the volume of their conversations inside the restaurant. The owners seem to be able to tell the customer's personality in an instant, so unless you can read the sign at the entrance and understand that this is a restaurant where you can eat quietly, this may not be your cup of tea. The food is certainly delicious, but I think this restaurant is more for people who want to enjoy soba in a quiet space, rather than speed or fast service.

For some reason there was no sign with the name of the restaurant written on it, so be careful if you're planning to visit. It says in front of the store, but it seems that if there are more than five people, it's not allowed to sit separately. Be careful about the number of people. We visited during a long weekend, so there were many other customers, and we arrived around 12:30 and were able to eat around 14:00. There is a warning sign inside the store, but because the food is so delicious the waiting time is long, so it's best to come with plenty of time. He pretended to be polite, but his overall behavior was intimidating. He knew children under 6 were not allowed, so I did my research and came here because I knew they were old enough to do so. However, when he saw my child was younger than average, he became suspicious and verbally assured everyone in the restaurant that he could eat everything, saying things like, "I've guaranteed it," so that everyone could hear. It sounded sarcastic and scary. Should I have shown my My Number card? My child is a big eater, even though he's young, so he ate more than he could handle. We as a family eat a lot, so I wish the portions were bigger. I told them to be quiet, so they didn't make any noise, but as the reviews said, it was a restaurant that was not friendly with children. He spoke in a sarcastic tone, as if to say, "There's a sign (in small letters) out front, so read it carefully before you come in," and with a condescending smile, said, "We'll offer you a special this time..." When you're told something like that, the only thing you can do is leave, lol. It's practically like he's telling you to go away... By the way, it also said that children under the age of six are not allowed. I don't know if he has a particular preference or what, but I wish he'd stop treating his customers like this. The owner's customer service lacks humility and seems abnormally arrogant. He seems to particularly dislike young people under 40 and children, so be careful. The owner's temperament seems well known even locally, so it's not a place I would recommend. Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Numata Castle Ruins, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Kashozan Ryugein Mirokugokokuzen Temple. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Numata Castle Ruins, located on a cliff along the Tone River, is a 16th-century fort with a tumultuous history involving battles between prominent clans. The site has been recognized as one of Japan's Top 100 Castles. Surrounded by cherry trees, the park offers stunning views and serves as an ideal spot for hanami during April when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
It’s a great park. But don’t expect to see some castle ruins here. There is an old tower but that’s it. Still it is a very nice park one should visit if you stay in Numata.

The main site is a park so most of the ruins are not to be seen. The area is quite relaxing to walk around but there aren’t a lot to see.

Beautiful park. Many people run around it for exercise. There is a museum close by that explains the history of the Numata family castle. There are some caged birds and rabbits in the park. The cherry blossoms here in April are extremely beautiful! People enjoy hanami here. There is also a lovely view of surroundings from this vantage point.

The Prefectural Gunma Observatory, located in Nakayama, Takayama Village, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture, was established in 1999 to honor Chiaki Mukai, the first Japanese female astronaut. Visitors can explore the facility's 150-centimeter and 65-centimeter telescopes for night sky observation. During daytime tours, guests can learn about astronomy and view exhibits.
This Observatory is a little difficult to get to from Tokyo but its totally worth the trip. The trek up the mountain to the observatory is fun. But air is a little light, so tread carefully. Approaching the building is exciting, the outside of the premises has constellation themed structures. I know them from many Japanese tv programs, but seeing them in person was way cooler. The observatory features a very inexpensive tour of the museum floor that will take you up to their telescope that has been in operation since 1997. You can also walk around the outside of its dome and get a wonderful view of the structures outside and all the surrounding towns. A must see if you are in Gunma or passing through, Please visit this location for some great views and educational adventure.
Dustin B — Google review
We reached at around 6 PM. If you reach a bit earlier you'll get a better look at the installation outside the observatory. There is even a Jantar Mantar model. We had a session where they explained the stars and constellations to us. After this we could watch the night sky with the stars and constellations in the humongous telescopes. There are so many installation for visitors to see and educate themselves. The walk through the steps in the woods to the observatory itself is a treat.

(Translated by Google) The observatory itself is impressive, but here we'll talk about the architecture. It was designed by the late Arata Isozaki, winner of the Pritzker Prize, known as the Nobel Prize of architecture. All of Isozaki's designs are neat and beautiful, but this observatory, even the telescope dome, was so cool that it was amazing to see how cool it was when he designed it. The exhibition space, made up of smooth curves and zigzags, is also wonderful. Isozaki's designs often change with the times, but no matter which one you look at, there's an invisible stamp that makes it immediately recognizable that it was designed by Isozaki. In the outdoor plaza, there is a structure that traces the history of observatories around the world since ancient times.

Nestled in the scenic landscape of Gunma Prefecture, the Nagurumi Castle Ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into Japan's feudal past. Originally constructed in 1579 by Lord Sanada Masayuki at the confluence of the Tone and Akaya Rivers, this historic site played a pivotal role during a siege in the 1500s.

Kashozan Ryugein Mirokugokokuzen Temple, also known as Mirokuji Temple, is an 850-year-old temple located deep in the mountains of Numata. The temple is famous for its association with Tengu, featuring large masks of the red, long-nosed creature from Japanese folklore. The road leading to the temple is narrow and surrounded by trees, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere.
Deep and far up on the mountain, a magical place, eerie and calm, you could hear the tengu whispers if you concentrated on the sound of the trees
Joachim G — Google review
Well worth the drive up the mountain to see these huge masks. Stunning scenery and beautiful views.
Edward F — Google review
I was very interested in going to this temple because of its connection to the Japanese mythological tengu. They apparently have the biggest tengu mask in Japan! Even though it's in a pretty mountainside setting and the main buildings are old and atmospheric, it felt very touristy even though the temple had obviously seen better days. In particular, the priest that did the calligraphy in my temple collection book (admittedly a money-making scheme) acted like he'd rather be doing anything else. I still would recommend a visit if in the area, hope the experience is better …

(Translated by Google) Speaking of Tengu, there's Numata's Tengu Mikoshi. Miroku-ji Temple, located here in Numata, is home to the largest Tengu in Japan, and I went there to pray and seek out its power. The roads along the way are narrow, and after a short drive up a mountain road, I arrived at the temple. When I entered the temple, I was surprised by the size and power of the Tengu. I was told that Tengu masks were available to borrow, so I did. It's customary to borrow the mask and purchase a new one the next time you visit, and then donate them to the temple. (Translated by Google) Climb the steep path. From the lowlands, you ascend straight into the mystical depths of the mountains. It's a remote location where it's not surprising to find Tengu. Drivers will also enjoy the winding roads. The parking area near the summit is spacious, and the temple grounds are well-lit. Instead of guardian lions, you'll be greeted by small and large Tengu, and once you enter the main hall, you'll find yourself face-to-face with the overwhelmingly large Tengu mask in the dim light. It is certainly the largest Tengu in Japan. I visited on the afternoon of the last day of a three-day weekend, and there were only a few people climbing up here, creating a very pleasant, quiet atmosphere. The temple itself was very pleasant, with a cool breeze, even at the end of July. It's on top of a mountain, but you can drive part of the way and there is a parking lot. The shortest route from there to the main hall is by stairs, but there are some slopes, so if you have trouble with stairs or if you have a stroller, I recommend taking the more leisurely route that way. Italian restaurant
Nestled just a short 10-minute stroll from Numata Station, 谷川のパスタ エルベ is a beloved dining spot in the area that often draws crowds, especially on weekends. During my visit at 2 p.m. on a holiday, I found myself waiting for about half an hour to be seated due to its popularity.
One of the best meal in Japan for me. Mix with Italian pasta, French and Japan food. It was really delicious, and really big. The yakitori was amazing too. Impossible de finish all your plate. Thank you so much.
Joris R — Google review
Has tons of pasta variety but most popular four natto soup pasta and meat sauce soup pasta. The regular size is around 300 grams of pasta, so if you want to order other food, ordering half size is recommended. The garlic chicken is a must!
Mizhelle A — Google review
Too much portion. We though regular size is for normal single person serving but it's more like a serving for 2 person. End up we didn't finish most of our plate which is quite waste.
Richie G — Google review
(Translated by Google) This is my first time here. I saw it on Gourmet a while ago, and stopped by during my trip. I guess it's natto pasta. My companion ordered meat sauce, so I ordered a half portion and a pork skewer. Since we were planning a big dinner that night, we each ordered a half portion and a pork skewer. Then, when the waiter next to me asked for a "regular," the waiter replied, "A regular portion is about three servings." Apparently, "A half portion is 1.5 servings." I've never heard of such a system, and there's no sign. The menu only lists the amount per gram. I think they should make this clear to customers. Then, the food was served, and we started to eat. Natto pasta. Of course, the tartness of the natto and tomatoes was well-balanced, and it was easy to eat. However, the noodles weren't classified as Italian, just spaghetti, and didn't have the definition of al dente. The meat sauce was just meat sauce. The sauce was like a pre-packaged meal, and the noodles were overcooked. I think this place isn't an Italian place, but a spaghetti place with extra-large portions. The pork skewers...they were basically just pork belly skewered and generously seasoned with salt and pepper. Of course, I left some. I almost never leave any. That's because I don't order more than I can eat. The menu wording and quality were both disappointing.

(Translated by Google) I was curious about natto pasta, so I went there for the third time! Does natto go well with pasta? I went there to find out the answer (lol) The menu is currently based on three main items! ・Natto in soup ・Natto with green shiso ・Meat sauce The number of menu items has been narrowed down from before, but it seems to be more carefully selected. ◆Meat sauce half (1,200 yen, tax included) The pasta and bowl are served piping hot. Even the half-sized pasta is a lot of pasta with plenty of meat sauce. About 180g of dried noodles, 2.3 to 2.5 times the amount after boiling. Herve boils it soft, so it's probably 2.5 times the amount (450g). My partner tried this, and it was quite tasty, but he said he got tired of it after the end (lol) ◆Natto with green shiso pasta regular (1,300 yen, tax included) This is a whopping 330g of dried noodles (over 800g after boiling)!!! The moment it was served, I had a strong "Oh no..." feeling (LOL) Come to think of it, I had the regular version last time and knew about it... Yes! Humans are forgetful creatures (LOL) ← Don't call me stupid lol But the natto is combined with the freshness of the green shiso leaves, making it a light and easy-to-eat taste. However... the balance between the amount of natto and the noodles is weird! (LOL) I got tired of it after eating about half of it, and thought I was done... My partner had some meat sauce left over, so we changed the flavor to natto meat sauce!!! The taste improved dramatically and we won the battle☆ Before I knew it, I had finished it all with ease (LOL) ◆3-item set (550 yen, tax included) Pasta + salad & drink Choose "egg salad" from the 5 types of salad, and banana juice for the drink By the way, banana juice is a specialty of this restaurant! I also recommend ordering a "mug" size by itself! Regular sized pasta is seriously too much!! (Be careful) It's time to learn☆←I keep telling myself lol (Original)

Relatively small local ski resort in Minakami. It’s very humble overall, but they have pretty much everything you’d need from a ski resort. The courses are pretty straightforward and relatively towards experts level. There is not much variety there, compared to other well known places. While the courses are small, they have pretty big food courts and cafes. There are also souvenir/gear shops. Rentals and schools are available. There is a shuttle bus from Minakami station.

A very nice ski resort located in 2 hours derive from Tokyo. Pretty cool courses including for both beginners and pro ski and snowboard lovers! Not so far from the toll road and easy access. Several car parking lots located at a walk distance and isolated as well. All isolated parking lots providing a free shuttle bus. Better to go there as early as possible to avoid shuttle bus in order to have an easy and quick access from the closes parking. Very comfortable facility includes wide eating area and several restaurants inside and outside the building. Rental shops could allow you to get and ride at the same day all you need including wears and ski or boards. For those with kids, there is kids school facility with a very kids friendly instructors. Will allow you to get your kids attended to school and enjoy your free time for adult riding. Nice weather, good mood and friendly staff are always there! Recommended very much!

It’s basically a ski resort but we visited during spring. so my review is based on spring time view and facilities of this place. View is absolutely stunning during daffodil festival and facilities are ok. The only thing that bothers me is the long queue in ground floor restaurant, may be for golden week’s rush but they can manage it easily if they had enough stuffs. only two elderly person tried their best.

Train station
Jomokogen Station is a quiet stop along the Joetsu Shinkansen line, offering easy access to the natural beauty of Minakami in Gunma prefecture. From Tokyo or Ueno Station, travelers can take a shinkansen to Jomo-Kogen and transfer to a local bus for further exploration. The station itself features amenities such as restaurants, shops, and resting areas with helpful staff available for tourist information. Additionally, there are rent-a-car shops nearby for added convenience.
Forests close in around the tracks; mist drifts low and silver. The air smells of cedar and rain. Jōmō-Kōgen is where time forgets to hurry, and travelers remember how to breathe again. Tourist Tip: Gateway to Minakami’s onsen and outdoor activities. Take a short bus ride to hot springs, river rafting, or snow resorts. Visit Takaragawa Onsen for outdoor baths in winter snow.

Haruna Shrine, known for its red stamp and feline companions, offers a unique blend of tradition and quirkiness. Nestled amidst picturesque surroundings, this shrine boasts a mesmerizing landscape and a stone that symbolizes protection. The entrance is adorned with delightful cat-themed elements such as cat chigura, food plates, jars, and brushes. The red stamp undergoes monthly variations alongside the conventional ones.
(Translated by Google) This time, I visited Numata Haruna Shrine. In Nagano, he is known as the second son of the Sanada clan of Ueda, Lord Yukimura, but here he is the eldest son, Lord Sanada Nobuyuki, and the six-mon coin remains. Feeling this connection, I was led and drawn to the Sanada Highway, and finally allowed to visit the shrine. Daikokusha Shrine is located at the back right of the main hall, and just before that is the Takanori Male Stone. So Takanori Female Stone is located to the left of the torii gate! As I was pointed to the shrine, I suddenly felt someone looking at me, a cat with a black hair came over and greeted me with its tail. I was given a red seal, and I was very grateful. Thank you very much. (Translated by Google) I visited the shrine hoping to collect some sacred jewels. I missed the entrance to the parking lot and got a little lost, but I arrived at the parking lot on the north side. I wanted to pass through the torii gate properly, so I took a detour to visit. The shrine isn't very big, but the grounds are well kept and there's plenty to see. A local specialty? A cat was sleeping there. The shrine office is spacious and there is a wide variety of goshuin stamps. There are boxes to collect the sacred jewels you're looking for, as well as goshuin notebooks. Some goshuin stamps are written by hand, and others have been written in advance, and while one was being written, the cat from earlier came into the office and was being petted by other worshippers. It was very relaxing. The precincts were kept clean. I had planned to go to the main shrine, Haruna Shrine, the day before, but due to time constraints I couldn't go, so I'm glad I was able to visit here. It's a small, neat and lovely shrine. Perhaps because it was before noon on a weekend, there was a line to receive a goshuin stamp. There was a cafe in the parking lot that opens at 12 o'clock. I couldn't stop by this time because I visited early, but I definitely want to next time! Points of Interest & Landmarks
Kamihocchi no Shidare Sakura, also known as Wednesday's Sacred Place, is a picturesque location that was featured in the 'Japan Picture Postcard Journey' TV program. This spot holds sentimental value for fans of the show and offers a serene landscape with a landmark Jizo statue adorned in a red bib and hat. Despite not being a popular tourist destination, it becomes more frequented during cherry blossom season.
(Translated by Google) Visited on April 26, 2025 This solitary weeping cherry tree, said to be about 400 years old, stands on a mound in a farmland on the way to Tamabara Plateau in the northern part of Numata City. The exact age of the tree is unknown, but it is estimated to be approximately 400 years old. A Jizo deity is enshrined at the base, and it is also known as "Jizozakura." It is located a little off Prefectural Route 266 and is not a tourist destination, so there are no facilities such as a parking lot or washroom. If you are visiting by car, we recommend parking in a safe place along the prefectural road, as the farm roads near Weeping Cherry Blossoms are narrow and it is almost impossible to pass each other. The tree is in good condition, with branches extending steadily, and the sight of it standing on top of a mound is an impressive sight to see up close. Because it is located at an altitude of about 800 meters, it blooms later than other cherry blossoms in Numata City, and it blooms later than other cherry blossoms in Numata City, and it reaches its peak later than the nearby Higanzakura. Mt. Buson rises in the background, and in early spring you can enjoy spectacular cherry blossoms against the backdrop of Mt. Buson covered in lingering snow.

This is the starting point for a series of many puns and quotes that will follow. More than 20 years have passed since the program was broadcast, but surprisingly the scenery is still there as it was back then. The landmark Jizo statue is also in the same place and wearing the same red bib and hat. And a splendid weeping cherry tree! It makes me want to see it in bloom. Just impressed. Then, I couldn't help but pose with insects flying onto my face. The surrounding scenery was very peaceful and I was able to relax in the warm sunshine. Kashozan is a captivating destination nestled in Japan, renowned for its impressive Tengu mask that graces the summit. As one of the three legendary tengu sites in the country, it offers an exhilarating hiking experience. The ascent from Mirokuji Temple to the peak takes about 25 minutes for those with healthy legs, while descending typically takes around 20 minutes. Hikers will encounter rocky terrain along the way, making sturdy climbing shoes and a bit of muscle strength essential.
(Translated by Google) Behind the scenes? As you go up the narrow road, you will find a mountain gate nestled in the mountain next to the road. It somehow reminds me of Spirited Away. Once you reach the top of the road, you will immediately see a temple decorated with a fine tengu. I wanted to go higher, but I wasn't prepared for tracking, and I was scared by the bear sign, so I skipped it this time. I found out later that the road was one-way. It seemed like the bus was going up too, so I was nervous, wondering how they would pass each other, but logically there were no cars passing by. It's a thrilling course where you have to climb through a space that's barely fit for your body, and when you reach the top, there's a chain chain that's almost at right angles. The view from the top of Tainai Passage is good, and if your timing is right, you may even see a sea of clouds. The trail is narrow and overgrown with grass, and if you go in short sleeves in the summer, your arms will get scratched by the sharp leaves and branches. (Translated by Google) 7/7/2023 At an altitude of 1,322m, it is a steep rocky ridge in the Buson mountain range, and is a sacred mountain that looks like a miniature version of famous rocky peaks such as Mt. Togakushi in Shinshu, Mt. Myogi in Joshu, and Mt. Hakkaisan in Joetsu. It can be assumed that the mountain has been the subject of mountain worship since ancient times, with a stone monument of the Kiso Ontakeyama Okami standing just before the summit, and the Soto sect Mirokuji Temple, which has a strong syncretism of Shinto and Buddhism, enshrined halfway up the mountain trail. The mountains are a forest of giant broad-leaved trees, and in the fall you can see the leaves turning red (Numata City website). The giant cedar trees that can be seen from time to time are thought to have been planted for religious purposes (in my opinion). Today, on a sunny day in the rainy season when the temperature exceeded 35 degrees in the lower part of the mountain, I climbed from the Mirokuji Temple parking lot No. 1 (free, toilets available, altitude 921m, 26°C). After passing through the Chujakumon gate of Mirokuji Temple, you will arrive at the inner shrine of Mirokuji Temple, which is located at the base of Oshodai (Tainai Hidden Rock), which is the tip of the rocky ridge. We climbed the mountain via the shrine and the aforementioned Mt. Ontake Ogami stone monument on the shoulder of the mountaintop. The round trip is less than 3km, and the reference time for climbers is 2 hours and 10 minutes round trip. Please note that these numbers and the description below do not include the Oshodai climb for advanced climbers (the details of Oshodai climbing will be posted separately on Oshodai). Although it is a short distance trip mainly on dirt roads, we take into consideration the following trekking equipment: a series of steep climbs, some rocky areas and a rope area, and a forested area throughout (the summit has a view towards the city of Numata City). We recommend. A bear bell is a must-have. There are many signs so there is no need to worry about getting lost. The view of Mt. Kasaba from the summit of Mt. Oshodai, the view from the summit of Mt. Kasaba, the stone monument, the Okumiya shrine, the Oshodai chain chain (not included in the stacked mountain climbing itinerary), etc., and the state of the mountain trail in order. I will attach a follow-up photo. By the way, today was a hot day (35 degrees Celsius below, 26 degrees Celsius in the parking lot), and since we were hiking in a wooded area with little wind, we consumed 1.5 liters of water (there were no water stations along the way). We recommend that you prepare enough water. Happy climbing everyone! (Like Irohazaka, there is a dedicated road for going up and down) If you leave it to the navigation, there is a possibility that you will try to climb up from the way down. There is a large tengu mask in the temple grounds, and you can borrow one that is said to bring good luck. Once you have received a blessing, you must return the mask and purchase a new one to dedicate. Just like with rakes, it's best to start with a small one and gradually increase to a larger one. The Tenichi Museum is a hidden gem that beautifully marries art and architecture. Designed posthumously by the renowned architect Junzo Yoshimura, the museum's exterior seamlessly blends with its lush surroundings, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Inside, visitors can admire an impressive collection featuring works from both Japanese modern artists like Ryusei Kishida and Edo period masters such as Ogata Korin.

Nice little private museum to check out if you’re already in the area. Three small galleries housing Japanese painting, ceramics, and some Western art including Rodin, Renault and Matisse. The modern architecture is very interesting and it’s a very calm and clean space. No photos are allowed inside. They serve you tea and chocolates after your visit which was a nice touch.

(Translated by Google) There was a pamphlet with discount coupons available at the information center of Meikumo Castle Ruins, and I visited there because I was interested in Ryusei Kishida's painting (Reiko statue). (By the way, if you don't have a discount coupon, it seems that your JAF membership card will also give you a discount.) Now, the artworks in the collection are all by Ryusei Kishida, as well as famous domestic and international painters and sculptors, and we, the common people, can't imagine how much personal wealth the founder invested in collecting them. However, I am grateful to be able to see them for a small fee. Also, we visited during the holidays, but after a group of people left to replace us, the museum was reserved for private use, so we were able to enjoy the museum at our leisure. After the viewing, we were treated to herbal tea and simple sweets in the lobby. After enjoying the lingering feeling for a while in a quiet environment surrounded by nature, I left the museum. By the way, if you follow the route to this location, the navigation will take you to the parking lot under the stairs on the south side of the building, but if you want to use the disabled parking space in front of the building's main entrance, you should take the road on the north side. It seems like I should just go around. The facility was also equipped for wheelchair access.

The stairs split into two in the middle, and the other one was a staircase leading to Sengen Shrine. I was satisfied with the taste and quantity of ramen. I think it would be nice to have a monthly menu that you can enjoy every time you go. The gyoza and fried rice are delicious 😋 The rice is delicious, which is the best thing about it ✨ The stir-fried bean sprouts are also delicious 😋 Even within the same chain, the staff's efficiency and the taste of the ramen served are not the same. Soba noodle shop
Sobagen, a renowned soba noodle shop, offers an exquisite dining experience with their delectable menu. The soba noodles, made from buckwheat, are served in various forms such as square buckwheat noodles and sobagaki. These dishes showcase the true essence of soba with their chewy texture and delightful flavors. Complementing the noodles is a range of accompaniments like vegetable tempura that presents a crispy and light option for food enthusiasts.
(Translated by Google) In May, when the new greenery is in full bloom, it is still the season for delicious mountain vegetables, so I went to Soba Gen in search of seasonal produce. I arrived just before opening time, and cars were arriving one after another, showing how popular the restaurant is. I was the first to enter the restaurant and headed to a bright table seat by the window. ◆Tsuru no Zen (2,090 yen, tax included) The mountain vegetable tempura I was looking for was included in the tempura selection, and it also came with a three-item platter and soba dumplings. First, start with a large cut of soba dough as the "Today's Soba Flavor." When you eat it with the salt on the table, the aroma of soba spreads softly☆ The three-item platter is konnyaku, roasted duck, and pickles. This is a little luxury before soba that will make you want to drink a cup of coffee just for this. The main soba is a flat type made from 100% locally produced buckwheat flour. First, taste it with salt, then eat it with the bonito-flavored broth. The condiments were spring onions and shiso nameko mushrooms. There was no wasabi, but just a little bit of ginger, which was perfect for adding a final flavor change. The mountain vegetable tempura was sumptuous, with koshiabura, kogomi, butterbur sprouts, snow bamboo, and maitake mushrooms! It was freshly fried and crispy, and I could really taste the bounty of the mountains. It was my first time eating snow bamboo (a perennial plant in the lily family), and it was delicious with no peculiar taste. The final dessert was soba dumplings. I was able to enjoy two types, black sesame and matcha, and was very satisfied until the very end. This is a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy delicious soba noodles and mountain vegetables while feeling the seasons.

The location is a little hard to find, and even when you arrive, you're a little confused as to whether this is a store or not. At first glance, it doesn't look like a store. When you walk inside, it looks like a room in a normal private house, but the interior has a strange interior with round tables and terrace seating. The staff who serve customers are bright, efficient and pleasant. Once you place your order, you'll be served a piece of soba cut into approximately 4cm squares as an appetizer and asked, ``Please enjoy today's soba with salt,'' allowing you to enjoy the aroma and taste of soba. Juwari Soba is a country-style flat soba with stars on it and has just the right amount of texture. I chose wild vegetables for the tempura, and they were all delicious. Apparently, the other specialty of this place is their ``soba-yu'', which is quite cloudy and has a thick texture. It's also a good idea to add grated ginger to change the flavor and enjoy the soba soup. I tried drinking soba dango with just soba-yu and it was very delicious. Personally, I felt like I needed wasabi as a condiment. The flat noodles of Juwari Soba have a firm texture and a smooth texture that goes down your throat. I am grateful that they were able to serve flat soba as is! I ate it with salt as recommended, and it was very delicious ♡ Even though the soba noodles are 100%, they have a chewy texture without being mushy. Soba dumplings are so delicious! There is parking in front of the restaurant, but the curb is not aligned well, so you can only park smoothly on a small section on either side of the restaurant. The restaurant is spacious. It feels like it used to be a convenience store. The food itself is all delicious and great value for money. On the other hand, the portions are a little on the large side. The flavors are a little strong, making it go well with rice. I went there in early autumn, and the air conditioning was off so it was a little hot. But I would recommend this place for dinner in Numata. The restaurant is run by the proprietress alone, so even after sitting down, you'll have to wait for her to take your order. Locals and regulars know this, so I noticed they were waiting quietly. I ordered a katsudon and ramen, and they said they'd make it a set. I wondered why they did that, but they gave me a salad instead. My food arrived in about 10 minutes. For the price, I thought the portion would be small, but it was just the same as a regular ramen shop, and it was delicious! The noodles were straight, and the soup was neither too thick nor too thin, just right. The katsudon was so delicious I wondered if it was worth the price. The katsudon was crispy, and the rice was sweet and delicious. I've been curious about the piccata, which is rare for a cafeteria menu, so I'll definitely go back for that next time. Nestled along Route 120, Soba Ikeda is a charming eatery that beckons travelers heading towards the stunning Fukiware Falls.

Although my parents live in Numata City, I left Numata after graduating from high school, so I'm not familiar with the restaurant. Until high school, I never had a particular desire to eat soba, and I was more of an udon restaurant, so in the past I would buy udon noodles and eat them at home, so this was actually my first time eating soba in Numata. I was amazed that they've been in business for so many years in a place with nothing around, but after having a bowl of tempura on a bamboo steamer, I honestly thought they do a great job. It was delicious. They also had Tochioage, so I ordered that as well. (Translated by Google) If you head east from the Numata IC on the Kan-etsu Expressway on Route 120 toward Fukiware Falls, you will come across a number of restaurants along the way. When you see the Numata City Eastern Chamber of Commerce on your right, turn right at the intersection marked by the pedestrian bridge without traffic lights. Just before the second intersection, you will see a sign with white letters on a blue background that says "Soba Ikeda." Turn left there, and continue straight ahead and you will see an old-style Japanese-style store on your left, set up on your own property? There are three parking spaces in front of the store. The owner's personal car? is parked in the unpaved space opposite, and you can randomly park three or four cars in the remaining space. The building has a nice exterior that exudes a Japanese feel, from the exterior to the sign. The stone steps are dangerous for elderly people, but when you go through the green-brown noren curtain, you will see the soba-making room directly ahead. In front of that room, that is, in front of the entrance to the store, there is a small bench. I imagine there will be a line on weekends. And on the left is the seating area. There, the owner, dressed like a Japanese chef at a spa bathhouse, stands upright to greet me and says, "Welcome." I took a day off on a weekday and visited just before opening time, so there were no customers there. The interior of the restaurant itself is not an old building, but it seems to have been made from recycled wood from an old house, creating a nice space with a tasteful Japanese atmosphere. On the left are three tables for four on a raised platform. On the right is a two-person table. The rest is a four-person table in the front left. We take our seats here. It's a clear day with not a single cloud in the sky, and warm sunlight pours in through the window... I wonder if that's Mount Akagi outside the window? (Sorry if I'm wrong.) You can see the mountains, and since it's a residential area on a hill, the view is quite nice. The interior is cozy and the only sound you can hear is the chirping of birds. All of a sudden, I'm overcome by sleepiness... As I was sipping the hot soba tea and towels and looking at the menu, an elderly woman who seemed to be the owner's mother suddenly appeared in front of me and greeted me, "Welcome. Please take your time." I politely returned the greeting. Of course, the menu included alcohol such as local sake and beer, and dishes such as "sobagaki," as well as "aburaage steak," a large "Tochio fried tofu" (deep-fried tofu), a specialty of Tochio, Nagaoka City, Niigata. This is a great snack to go with sake. If I wasn't driving, I would have liked to have a drink there. While I was saying this, I had already drilled into my head that I should eat the standard of the restaurant when I first visit, so I asked the owner for a "large" serving of "tenzaru" soba. I used to go to Nagano and Niigata quite a bit in my previous company, so I knew intuitively that the default for these "high-minded soba restaurants" was that the portions were as small as those of long-established high-end soba restaurants in Tokyo! →Result. This was correct! The large portion was about the same as a regular portion. There were no other customers, so the food came out pretty quickly. For some reason, the "tempura" came first. The mother brought it to me. It was a tempura soup type with grated daikon radish. The ingredients were the standard "shrimp," "squid," "green peppers," "pumpkin," and "shishito peppers," with no changes of flavor. I ate it while it was still warm. It was small, but the batter was thin, so the flavor of the ingredients came directly, and it was a normal, safe, delicious all-four type. Then, the owner brought me the main dish, "zaru soba, large portion." By the way, although it says "zaru," there was no seaweed on top. The soba is thin and fresh. It's a little greenish. Is it locally grown? Can buckwheat flour be produced in Numata? Maybe Fukushima...? I'm not a big soba eater so I'm not sure. When I put the soup in my mouth by itself, it's spicy like Gunma, which I like, and the aroma of bonito is also good. When I bite into the soba by itself, it's crisply chilled with cold water, and I can feel the texture and edge, and it's delicious. Mmm... But maybe it's the season, but I don't feel much sweetness in the soba itself, even though it's advertised as 100% buckwheat. I guess it's a light taste? When I dipped it in the soup and slurped it up, well, the smooth throat feel, the edgy texture, and the spicy soup go well together, and it's delicious. If the aroma of the soba was a little more, the sweetness would mix with the soup with bonito in the mouth, and it would be delicious when I chewed it... That's the only thing I'm disappointed about. But the spring onions were fragrant, and the wasabi was especially good. It might be even more delicious if you come in spring or autumn. The soba soup at the end wasn't as strong as I expected, so it was a bit off. But it was sharp and not cloyingly sweet, typical of Gunma, and had a crisp, light soba. It was delicious. Around 11:30, a few customers started coming in, including an elderly couple from the neighborhood and a middle-aged businessman in work clothes. When the owner isn't busy, he's always on the lookout, and even before he can see the customers, he can sense the engine noise and the presence of visitors (like a dog or cat that senses when its family is coming home. → I mean that as a compliment.) He stands at the entrance and greets customers politely. It's wonderful. By the way, payment is cash only. The owner's mother paid the bill, but I asked her, "Mom, isn't the cash register turned on?" I need to turn the key. However, I never thought I'd find a nice soba restaurant in a corner of a residential area just off the national highway. There might be a line during the tourist season for Fukiware Falls and on weekends and holidays. I was glad I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. I visit Gunma several times a year, so I'll keep it in mind. Now, let's stretch our legs and take a drive to the neighboring province of Echigo. Thank you for the meal.

It's a pity that the chewy and satisfying 10wari soba noodles and my favorite duck steamer are no longer available! It also goes well with sweet dipping sauce. Takato soba is served with spicy grated daikon radish, but I'd rather have the grated radish itself than the grated soup. As for the fried tofu steak, for someone who knows Tochio's fried tofu, the lack of ginger and bonito flakes is a minus (lol) The amount of soba noodles is small, so we recommend a large serving! Soba noodle shop
Nestled in a somewhat unassuming location, そば処 山水 is a hidden gem that offers an authentic taste of rural Japan. On my visit during a weekday lunch, I was delighted by the chewy texture of their Nihachi soba, which comes with an impressive array of condiments to enhance the experience. The highlight for me was the freshly grated wasabi—its refreshing flavor and subtle sweetness truly elevated the dish.
(Translated by Google) The soba noodles are as good as, or even better than, those at high-end restaurants. If it gets too busy, it will get crowded and difficult to get to, so I'd like to comment that it's not worth lining up to eat. Soba noodles are delicious even when eaten as is, so it's a waste because you can't use up all the seasonings. The thick fried egg in the Sansui set is also very delicious, and the grated radish and Japanese ginger that come with the tamagoyaki can also be used as condiments, so I keep wondering what to add to the soup. I also appreciate that the seaweed is served separately.

While the parking lot is easy to find, the exterior of the restaurant leaves you wondering, "Huh?!" and lacking the typical soba restaurant atmosphere. Follow the signs down a narrow corridor to the entrance. After taking your own numbered ticket, you sit wherever you like. The interior of the restaurant resembles a large prefabricated building, crammed with posters and photos, overflowing with information (lol). The soba is a rustic 28% soba with many star-filled ingredients, with a wonderful aroma and firm texture. Another plus is that they offer fresh wasabi for this price. The tempura on this day was four types: pumpkin, kagura nanban, eggplant, and maitake mushroom. The ingredients were very flavorful, especially since they're served with salt. I wish they'd been a little crispier. The restaurant is small, but you can enjoy a variety of flavors with pickles, omelets, seaweed, and condiments. For such a great deal at this price, it's a very reasonable price. There are many high-quality soba restaurants scattered around Kawaba, but this is one you definitely want to check out. It was a hot day and I was worried that the vegetables I bought at the roadside station would go bad in the car, so I told the person at the shop who happened to be outside about this, and they kept a cooler in the backyard near the entrance. I was happy to leave my bag there. Enter the restaurant, take off the lid, sit down at your favorite table, and decide on your menu. The tea was self-serve, and on this day they had barley tea and cold water. I ordered Sansui Soba with tempura. The thick soba noodles did not have a soft texture, but they had a very good texture and well-balanced soba. mixed rock salt Wasabi of the type that you grate yourself Seasonal vegetable tempura It was also a dish that I hated that it came with a thick fried egg with grated oni and ginger. Seaweed was also served on a separate plate. I felt that the tempura oil was also done properly. Bad tempura has an oxidized smell even while you're eating it, and it makes your stomach feel heavy afterwards... I felt like I was getting a good deal because I could feel the owner's love for each ingredient. The atmosphere inside the store was unique. In particular, the BGM was constantly playing Japanese music such as AKB, which seemed far removed from the atmosphere of the store, and it felt quite strange and interesting. lol lol You can also use PayPay for payment. The approach from the store door to going outside, The store will close in two years after opening its 23rd anniversary. There was a countdown written by the store owner. There is also a sign on the stand before you go outside, asking you to take it home with you. There were teacups, bitter gourd, etc. I love bitter gourd, and they had a large cooler bag with me, so I took about 4 bottles and went home. By the way, I entered the store around 13:00 on Saturday, I entered the store without waiting. Customers, many of them locals, kept coming to the store one after another. The spacious interior of the store would probably be called emotional in young people's terms. A shop with a great atmosphere. The seats filled up quickly. I ordered Sansui soba. It's very voluminous with a lot of things. And it was cheap. The egg roll was delicious, but the tempura was not good. The soba was crumbly and hard for me to eat, but my husband, who loves soba, found it delicious! I was happy. I wonder if this is authentic soba.
