Restaurant
Dragon Inn, a floating hotel in Semporna, offers unassuming accommodations and a rustic restaurant in a relaxed setting. The hotel is set in wood buildings over the sea and provides excellent value for money compared to other water villas. While the water may not be transparent, the hotel features a kid's park that looks beautiful at night and has multiple restaurants on-site. It also boasts a convenient location within walking distance to seafood restaurants and shops.
Last minute booking. Aircon, water heater, clean. No wifi.

Room needs some update.a window would be great. Bed is new and comfortable firm. Bathroom is located outside. Need some privacy installed. There was a boat and the working person peek in. Don’t feel it was safe! Wi-Fi weak. Don’t rely on WiFi!
ML. L — Google review
NO WIFI in rooms. I had to request a change in rooms to be close to receptionist because that's the only place with wifi. Other than that, no complains. Room was clean. A bit concerned with the water from the shower which seems to flow directly to the ocean

If I can give a negative rating I would have given -5stars. Tried booking rooms from them thru their email address. Was asked to pay by bank transfer in the same email trail. After payment, they claimed their email address got hacked and they are not responsible for my losses on the actual day of my arrival. No compensation or rooms are provided. Leaving me and my friends high and dry in the night. No compensation, discount and without a room at 9pm. We were left to find and alternative lodging in the middle of the night. Will never ever go there again. This hotel does not care about their reputation or ur well been. Think twice before u book a room from them. BTW, police report had been made.
Monster1437_JR — Google review
The area smelly during low tide. Room too spacious for 2 person. Air conditioner was cold but no remote control. The area also loud with people karaoke at the nearest restaurant. The room wall and toilets all made of wood. The toilet has water heater but pressure was low. No breakfast provided. Too expensive for a night stay for a room like this.

I’m not even here yet! But, trying to engage with them to enquire about my staycation here before booking. Call/Whatsapp/even email.. none even reply. So how do I contact the hotel if all these mediums I cannot reach? It’s ridiculous! You don’t hv any customer service dept is it???

Public Jetty Semporna, Sabah.

3.8
(225)
Transportation service
Public Jetty Semporna, Sabah is the go-to place for arranging boat trips to explore the paradise islands around Semporna. Despite being a bit congested with limited parking, it offers an authentic experience with local vendors selling fresh seafood at affordable prices. The jetty provides access to various islands like Mabul, Mata King, Kipalai, Sipadan, and more. While not luxurious, it has all the essentials and visitors are advised to keep their belongings secure.
The place you can go for your boat trip to Islands. A bit congested area. Not enough parking. But you can park at shop lot area nearby. Many local people selling fresh lobsters, prawns, fish at very cheap price. Good to be here and experience the boat trips. Will come back!
Diana U — Google review
Semporna the self-proclaimed gateway to Paradise is probably the dirtiest place on earth I have seen so far. The entire city is a big dumping ground with a smell of sewage. Loads of trash is floating everywhere in the ocean, even around Sipadan. The locals lack environmental awareness. No efforts are made by the local government to control littering, to promote environmental consciousness and to ban shark finning, dynamite fishing, use of plastic bags, straws etc. I have mixed feelings about coming back to Sipadan: on the one hand I’d love to dive here again but on the other hand I think I shouldn’t support tourism that is far from being eco-friendly & sustainable.
Desiree L — Google review
The place is quite crowded & dirty. If you are trying to find cheap seafood, its here. However, you will be disturb by Sea Gypsies which are beggers. Be mindful of your stuff and once you give them let say RM1, they will call up their friends to come & chase you.
Amanda P — Google review
Very busy. Zero amenities. Just a place to get from point A to point B. Lots of tots when you arrive... Others reviews have mentioned seafood sales, this is not at this public Jetty. Seafood sales are at "Semporna sea shell landfill pier", which is the next Jetty to the West, Some street vendors stationed here selling small snacks. And there are plenty of food places nearby.

The food is very nice here. But too many rubbish. Hope this jetty will become clean and beautiful in future.

JETI PELANCONG SEMPORNA JETTY

4.1
(369)
Boat tour agency
This is the jetty for the tour excursion operators. It is pretty chaotic in the morning but it is extremely well organized and there are plenty of facilities. It is actually a very smoothly run operation. Plenty of places to sit while you wait to head out to sea. Just a short walk from town.
DR. T — Google review
We took our boat from this Jetty, everything went smoothly ,the only setback shocked us is the amount of rubbish under the jetty area..very sad, hope the Sabah authority do something about this to ensure its clean
Kalpana V — Google review
The jetty area itself is fine. Spacious so even where it's a peak hour, it still feels ok and not cramped for space. There are toilets (equipped with a shower) in 3 of the 5 stalls. Outside, there's also an area for a quick wash/shower. It's fairly clean but since there's no hooks to hang your bag/ clothes / toiletries bag, you'll have to figure that out or just leave your bag on the bench and bring only the essentials with you. There are many boat companies, but we've already prebooked with Camrish and got their package day tours, I don't know what are the prices for the other companies. At least no one is hassling me to get tickets from their company (which happens at the KK Jesselton jetty). The down side is if you're driving here, the "carpark" is manned by the local folks. And they set the price according to whatever they wish. The first day we went with some local friends, and we paid rm10 per car for a whole day (we were a group with 5 cars). The very next day, we went and were asked to pay rm25 per car (we drove 2 cars this time)! Ridiculous! So we mentioned we came just yesterday. And after a few rounds of, "remember we were just here?" They accepted rm10 per car.
Alshane — Google review
A jetty to get the boat for tourists who plan to do island hopping, or going to many resort around semporna. The jetty were nicely decorated and I can say better maintained. There is still room for improvement especially regarding cleanliness where many trash can be seen floating under the jetty. And I hope for local and tourist to be more responsible to keep the cleanliness and not throwing trash to the sea when visiting Semporna.
AshRizal — Google review
Very easy to find the agent. There are two clean toilets, changing room with shower also available here too. But too much rubbish floating on the sea, MP Semporna should do a clean up campaign.
Cheryl C — Google review
The jetty is easy to find but if you want to find a good parking spot need to come early. Theres an attendant that told us the parking fee is free so dont entertain the little kids that came to your car to ask for fee as they were lying.
Ukiyo U — Google review
A vile place full of unfortunate child beggers, arrogant tour companies and an incredible amount of plastic garbage which forms a steady stream drifting out to sea. Unbelievable. Never seen anything like it. The local government should be ashamed.

Archaeological museum
Heritage museum
Bukit Tengkorak Archaeological Site, also known as Skull Hill, is a popular destination for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and photographers. The hill features four viewing platforms offering breathtaking views of the surrounding area. While the climb to the top can be challenging and may not be suitable for seniors, it is well worth it for the stunning sights. Additionally, visitors can explore the archaeological site and its museum to learn about the area's history.
While all the tourists are cramming onto island hopping boats for their insta photos spend a few hours here. An easy hike with amazing views. Be sure to visit the museum at the bottom before you head to the top. Rich history over 3000 years old! No one will be here and it's free!
Vince J — Google review
- The view is breathtaking unfortunately the AC isn't working during my visit to the museum. There's an orange cat which I believe a worker at the registration counter and he's cute! Would definitely recommend to all of you who want to go for a short hikes in Semporna :) - Open daily from 9 to 5 and no hidden fees! FOC!
Zerny — Google review
The cat working at the museum is so cute. The AC was on, but I can't feel any wind so it feels stuffy in there. The hike was pretty enjoyable and easy with stairs but didn't have enough time to reach the top. FOC too.
Celine Y — Google review
Visited on a Sunday morning. The hike from the start to the top of the hill is about 599steps and can be completed in 30-45 minutes. The view is spectacular and worth the climb. Many shelters and seat along the trail and hence allow for rest and picnic. Highly recommended! The museum is free entry and have very clear illustration on the ancient modern men found on the hill.
Eng L — Google review
Great activity if you have a few hours to spare in Semporan ! The views on top are amazing and there is a nice breeze to escape the heat. The walk itself is mainly stairs and can be done quickly. However some parts are not very well maintained. The museum is also interesting.
Astrid H — Google review
Went hiking up the hill, but did not manage to visit the museum. The hike is well worth it, beautiful views at the end, walking up wooden stairs and relatively well maintained paths. It’s not terribly difficult to reach the top, but one should be relatively physically fit to do so. Also if you’re coming here via ride hailing, remember to take down the number of the driver, or pre-arrange your transportation back into town as you’ll be hard pressed to get any form of transportation to return.
Y. L — Google review
Still free of charge to come here as I write this review. I straight away went for the hike, have easy stairs. Have two-three rest stop for you take a breather or see the view. Beware of the animals here like snakes, monkeys and etc. The guy at the museum said, if you don't have any food on you it will be fine, the monkeys won't harass you. The view was nice and beautiful, for an easy hike (with the stairs). The museum was filled with information about the place and surrounding. It was very informative. The Grab services here were adequate, so it's easy to find Grab driver.
Mohd Z — Google review
Went here on mac/2024. 15 -20 minutes hike depends on your stamina. Very easy hike. Not well maintained infrastructure due to lack of budget. Lots of rubbish here and there too. Pity that it was once a well visited archeological site and now looks abandoned. It is free entrance. If someone at the top ask for fee, dont fall for it. Just politely say No and continue your journey.

Tanjung Parapat is a hill located about 20 kilometers from the town, offering breathtaking views and two viewpoints accessible via an easy and well-maintained trail. Visitors can stay overnight in water chalets, with plans for land chalets in progress. It's recommended to visit early in the morning for a stunning sunrise or in the evening for a beautiful sunset over the water. The hill is great for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, running, jogging, and picnicking.
It's a must visit if you enjoy the outdoors & you are always searching for a an Awesome view. Go there early before 5am to watch the breathtaking sunrise on the hill before it gets too hot or go there in the evening to catch the sunset from down below over the water.. Great for a run, jog or just walk up hill anytime of the day.. must go all the way up for a picnic but come prepared & please this wonderful place clean

Went there when drive from Semporna to Tawau airport. Restoran not open during lunch. Just go to Bukit Parapat. Paid RM3 per pax to go up hill. Not easy to go up if you have legs pain. But worth when we saw nice views.
Wai M — Google review
This place is located 30 mins away from Semporna town. We rented a car (RM120/day) to go there as the tour agency is charging us RM130 for 3 people (don’t think is worth it). The entrance fee to Bukit Parapat is RM3. Easy hike (kids friendly) with amazing views. There are hammocks for you to enjoy the breezy wind. After that we went to Tanjung Parapat for a walk. Will recommend this place to everyone visiting Semporna.

Place is peaceful. Highly recommend to spend few minutes. Water not not crystal clear though.. Didn't ask the price of items in the restaurants. Other than that, nothing
Fauzan A — Google review
My pictures is a bit cloudy because the rain is on its way 😂 You can spend night here on water, they have chalet for tourists, and on land chalet is still in progress (the time I went there) You definitely can climb and enjoy this majestic view from the top of the hill. I will say beginner might have to catch a few air before continue to the top (if you're not fit like me😂😅). Enjoy one of the beautiful place at Semporna. Please do not litter!!!

This is not the 1st time i ate here .... At the restaurant that closer to the resort... The owner didn't manage to keep good reputation for thier restaurant. Not friendly as well. The last time we ate there, we ordered squid (fried and sambal) and cabbage fried with garlic... The cabbage was overcooked and test bitter and the presentation was out, looked black. We ordered squid for half kg..but it looked really not worth...the sambal sotong not sambal but just like source. We ordered nescafe O ice but the waiter keep sent wrong order...on the third time he still sent wrong drink but we just took it because don't want to wait for any longer 😞. The customer behind us also face the same thing. I thought the waiter not really understand malay language. It really different with our 1st experience eating there...

Pulau Sibuan

Island
Pulau Sibuan is a tiny paradise island located in the eastern coasts of Sabah, Semporna. It is renowned for its clear marine park waters, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. The island boasts white sandy beaches and turquoise waters that attract visitors to this beautiful paradise.
The final destination of the island hopping tour was absolutely breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters surrounding a beautiful island. We anchored the boat a short distance away and indulged in some incredible snorkeling before swimming to shore. The scenery was stunning, but unfortunately, there were signs of littering in some areas, which was disappointing to see. After relaxing in the shade and recharging, it was time to make our way back. It was an exhilarating end to an absolutely fantastic day!

Beautiful little island. Great for snorkelling: crystal clear water, huge table corals. Nice for a walk around the island, watching iguanas and kingfisher. Still too much trash and litter on the beach and in the water: a pity! Military is protecting the island which is relatively near to the Philippines.

It’s such amazing place for islet, there is a lot of trees and coconut tree. There is a sandbank to take pictures and we can swim here. After taking pictures, we will go to a farer place and start snorkeling. Too many fishes, the water is clear and clean.
Nga C — Google review
Small island with white sand (during my visit after rain, the sand still not dry and show the true color). During low tide, the sandbar will emerge. We were having lunch here, the weather was not good during my visit, before we reached here, it was raining badly. Such a scary moment for me as it was my first time in the boat during stormy weather in the middle of ocean. I couldn't enjoy the blue clear crystal ocean water. The guide told us that it is not safe to play at the shore here because many sting rays hidden underneath the sand. The guide bring us for snorkeling around the island edge. The corals here are beautiful but becareful, please wear snorkeling shoes. Too many sea urchins. Having said that, I was really sad seeing a lot of rubbish on the island. People who visit this island left their food containers, water bottles, plastic, etc around. Please do something, save the island and the ocean that we have before its too late. SAVE OUR OCEAN & ISLANDS! I will give 5 stars if it wasn't because of the garbages.
Nazara I — Google review
Beautiful beach, clear waters, lots of fishes if you want to snorkel. The beach is rather clean, there is a bit of plastic waste washed up on the shore, but it is cleaned and maintained by Park regularly. There are tables and benches under shady trees to rest at as well.

Seafood restaurant
Anjung D’Samudera Cafe is a popular seafood restaurant in Semporna, Sabah. It's known for its delicious and reasonably priced seafood dishes, making it a must-visit for vacationers in the area. The cafe offers a strategic location and an enticing menu that attracts visitors looking to savor local flavors. Guests can enjoy a variety of seafood options, including fresh fish from their selection or bring their own from the fish market to be cooked at the restaurant.
I recently dined at Anjung D'samudera and had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the waitstaff were friendly and welcoming. I tried several dishes, including butter squid, crab cooked with dried chili, sea urchin, mantis shrimp cooked with salt, and stir-fried water spinach (kangkung). Each dish was flavorful and prepared perfectly, making the meal memorable. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for fresh and tasty seafood with excellent service. Highly recommended!
Hanafi Z — Google review
We had quite a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The orders were served very late, especially the mixed vegetables. We ended up cancelling the vegetable dish because we had already finished our rice and other foods. The salted egg squid and butter-fried prawns were overly sweet, and we couldn’t taste the freshness of the seafood at all. We requested plain soup at the beginning of our meal, but it only arrived after we had completely finished eating. This is actually my second visit here—I was hoping the service had improved, but unfortunately, we encountered the same issues again. 😢 Please do work on improving your service.
Nur A — Google review
We visited on Friday evening for dinner. They are really very busy and crowded. We ordered our food and picked some fish from their selection... they have live options in tanks, but the non-live fish they told us were RM60/kg, regardless of what fish. Make sure you check the gills... cos when I checked, I found one of the fish my husband selected was very old and slimy to the point the gills were grey/brown colour. Take note some of the fish may not be fresh. It was also quite challenging as it seems they cannot speak much English. Another slightly dissappointing thing was that there was a strong smell of rubbish and drainwater/sewage in the entire area. Food took a very long time to arrive. They served our stir-fry vegetables first... but no cutlery at all and no plates or rice. Even after we asked several times politely for cutlery we were ignored for a long time... it was only after I insisted and raised my voice a bit that they did help us to find forks and spoons. By the time we were given cutlery and plates the food was already cold. The fish when it arrived was actually quite delicious. We ordered ikan bakar with turmeric, and nyonya style. Both were delicious and well cooked. But you must be patient because everything takes a long time. You can buy beer from the bar next door and bring it over, they have no problems with that. To pay there was also a long queue... so this is definitely not somewhere to go in a rush. The food is good, but there were also many shortcomings that otherwise spoiled the experience a bit. And of course expect to pay tourist prices in this sort of area.

If you stay in Wave View Hotel, the breakfast will be at this restaurant... It's situated next to the hotel... Breakfast is ok... Had dinner on my last night stay... The lobster is nice with decent size... The other seafood taste nice as well... However, the environment is simple and next to the sea

I am disappointed with the service they gave me. I just asked for my food to be wrapped, but they wrapped it like this, it's like my food is like garbage.

The foods here is just average for me. I ordered Squid Fried Rice, a bit disappointed because its too plain. The last night in Semporna, ate seafoods here. Ok but I think I had taste better foods than here. Not that bad, not that great. Cleanliness is B-. During breakfast also, i'm just okay with the foods.

Restaurant
Dozo Nanyang Kopi House Semporna is a delightful blend of traditional cuisine and modern ambiance, creating a cozy atmosphere with nostalgic touches. The restaurant buzzes with energy, attracting diners eager to enjoy its delicious offerings at reasonable prices. During my visit, I relished the Dozo Mee Basah and Original Dirtea, both of which were exceptional. The Cre Brulee Iced Latte was so enjoyable that I had to order extra for takeaway!
By far the best restaurant on the island, yes the whole of Borneo Island! I have an Italian wife with above Italian standards for food. (Sorry amore) We discovered this amazing restaurant by accident (Google maps location is not correct - it is located next to “ Wing Tat Grand Hotel”). My wife and I were both blown away by how amazing the food tasted, how fast the service from the staff, and best of all how cheap it was. We went for lunch, then dinner, then repeated this for 3 more days - so our review should be worth 6 reviews crammed in to one. This place is never empty - always busy or have customers. Highly recommend this place. We told all the people we met and went to tour with and they said the same. Honestly felt this was one of our highlights being in Semporna. Thank you very much

Decent place for a fast meal. Just beside the hotel where I stayed. Food is just ok. Staff is really friendly. Somehow the last plate of everyone order always comes late. Have notice that everyone always have to wait for the last meal.

We went after diving around 4pm and avoided the dinner crowd. Yes the service can be improved (my chopstick fell right in front of the waiter and he just walked pass like nothing happened haha) - but I feel that reviews are a bit too harsh! My favourite is the kaya butter croissant, Fried rice roll (it's actually fried Chee cheong fun) is really nice! For drinks we had iced Ho Kar Sai and Classic Nanyang. The main courses were a let down as both noodles were slightly overcooked. All round very good compared to the other places available in Semporna 💕 the drinks are nice and not sweet (we ordered normal and did not ask for less sweet)

very busy but we did go at 7pm, my food was amazing but my boyfriend ordered the wat dan ho (prawn) and it was nothing like the photo it was extremely watery and the prawns were not battered, very disappointed by this but the spring rolls snd honey & noodles were good

I had a great experience at Dozo Nanyang Kopi House in Semporna. The food was delicious, even though I wasn’t very familiar with the dishes, everything I tried was excellent. Restoran Ikan Bakar Semporna

Restaurant
Restoran Ikan Bakar Semporna is a popular spot known for its fresh and delicious seafood dishes, including their famous ikan bakar. In addition to grilled fish, they also offer a variety of other grilled seafood options. While some customers praise the friendly staff and hearty portions, others have noted that the restaurant could improve its lighting and certain dishes like tom yum and fried chili squid may not meet expectations.
Our guide brought us here for our dinner on our first day at Semporna after hiking Parapat Hill. Overall, the foods taste so good, especially the salted egg sotong. We even tried the latok-latok, and the kailan ikan masin was different compared to peninsular malaysia, and it tastes more like a cabbage. Our menu : Kailan ikan masin Kangkung goreng belacan Latok-latok Ikan putih masam manis Salted egg sotong Butter prawn Nasi Putih Our tourist guide paid for us, so we can't share the price here. The restaurant is a bit gloomy because of the lighting. The service is fast due to the peak hour once we arrived.

Probably the best food we had in semporna. Ikan bakar is very fresh and everything tastes great! We ordered these for three and finished everything!

Nice place to eat fresh seafoods but the environment a little bit dark. I wish they can brighten up the place, and for those who eats not under the roof, i think it wise if they can put stand fans, a bit hot, no air circulation because of the trees. Overall the foods is fresh, taste good and muslim restaurant. Butter prawn is nice, white fish in sweet and sour sauce is tasty, kangkung belacan also good, Crabs cook in Kam Heong style was so good. but tom yum and fried chili squid was a bit disappointment for me. Can eat but not as good as I expected. You can fresh lato-lato here. They sell it RM5 per plate.

had a hearty dinner here. i am satisfied with my food. i ordered kuey teow seafood soup and my sister ordered kuey teow tomyam that were not in the menu😂 they only put mee soup & mee tomyam but we requested for kuey teow instead. the portion was quite big for us, they put everything from prawn, squid in my seafood soup. we also ordered sotong goreng tepung. a bit cold but still crispy. we even ordered nasi goreng for takeway, and the portion was so big, we couldn’ finish it during our breakfast the next day. the location is just next to McDonald’s . we came early so it was easy to get parking.

I ate ginger steam fish and prawn salted egg. Both were sweet, turn off my appetite, nothing savoury. The fish was not fully cooked. I had to ask them to re steam. I expected the ginger steam fish is like chinese style however they did it by pouring abundant of oyster sauce on chopped ginger. Nothing special here. The taste is so so for me

Island
Bum Bum Island is a hidden gem in Malaysia, part of a stunning archipelago that includes Bohey Dulang and Sibuan Islands. This enchanting island is steeped in local legend, featuring the tale of Princess Salamia, who vanished into the mystical realm after being hidden from an unwanted suitor. The close-knit community here consists mainly of Bajau families who share a rich cultural heritage.

(Translated by Google) If there are 0 stars, I will use this rating, it makes me hate Semporna completely 1. The door lock is broken and dented, and it is extremely difficult to insert the key. The door lock head moves when you turn it and is not replaced. It takes 1 minute to open and close the lock every time you enter and exit the door. 2. The air conditioner is neither cold nor super loud. The strongest wind is as loud as a blow dryer, and the whole machine vibrates wildly. 3. The bed is extremely vibrating. If two people turn over while sleeping, the whole bed will shake left and right like a magnitude 7 earthquake. 4. The whole room is extremely humid, accompanied by a very pungent fragrance. 5. The sink and shower drain holes will be clogged 6. The most serious and painful thing is that the water in the shower room is super small! Use the same drops as Xiaoyu. If a girl with long hair usually takes about 20 minutes to wash her hair and take a bath, it will take an hour to wash her hair and take a bath here. She will be so angry that she doesn't want to take a bath. 7. On the first day I checked in, the staff did not provide toilet paper. I had to go downstairs to ask for it before giving it to them. 8. The toiletries look like they haven’t been used for a year, and there are signs of repeated wetness and dryness. 9. You will hear a motor sound like a mobile phone vibrating all day long. 10. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the port, and you have to walk on a road without sidewalks. The traffic is quite inconvenient. 11. The employee's service is very casual. Every time I ask him for something, he looks like he has just slept. I did see him lying on the bed playing video games. 12. The toilet has no exhaust fan, is extremely humid and hot 13. I thought it would be quieter if I lived close to the port, but along with the sound of various machines in the room, I could also hear the sound of heavy rain in the iron house, and the screams of dogs quarreling and biting each other every day. 14. This price is as expensive as staying in a 4-star hotel in Kota Kinabalu city (Original)

The room is very big. We booked a four-person room but it can actually accommodate six people. It has a balcony and two rooms; one has a double bed with a toilet, and the other has two single beds. Both rooms have doors leading to them. There are two single beds in the balcony and living room. There is a kitchen, refrigerator, simple kitchen utensils, etc... There is a dining table but only two chairs. The next thing to say is bad... 1) The floor of the room was not cleaned well. It felt like there had been no guests for a while. There was dust on the floor, as well as the floor of the toilet. 2) There are cockroaches in the room! I saw three in total, one of which was extremely large, which greatly affected my stay. 3) Although there is a hot water kettle provided in the room, the previous guests did not know what to cook with it. It seemed that noodles were stuck to the bottom of the pot and the water outlet. It had to be specially cleaned and it was difficult to clean. 4) The wall lights in the room were broken and not repaired. The problem was the same in both rooms. The TV in the living room also didn't work. If the above problems can be solved, I will consider staying here again, especially the health issues. The best tour company in Semporna. Our guide Zhem was very friendly at all times and the excursion was a lot of fun. 100% recommended

We paid €49 per person but the trip was poorly organized and unsafe. The old boat was overcrowded, the “guides” were unprofessional, and we were dropped into deep water with strong waves without any briefing. We couldn’t even go ashore on one of the islands, and the return ride was dangerously fast. Definitely not worth the money and not recommended.
Henry — Google review
The Trip was not worth 49€ at all. The boat was very old and the guides didn’t cancel the trip even though the weather was very bad, the ride back to the jetty was horrible. Also we didn’t go to 3 islands as they said, as one was an private island so we just stayed 1.5 hours on the old shitty boat. Not recommended at all!!

This bustling market is a treasure trove for those seeking fresh seafood, fruits, and handmade crafts. As you stroll through the lively stalls, don’t miss out on sampling delicious local snacks that showcase the region's culinary delights.
Really fresh out of sea. You could come for a walk to see which you fancy, there are some restaurants who will help you to clean and cook and a small fee.

Definitely an interesting experience, especially the seafood market outside where all live fresh seafood are sold. Bargaining skill is a must here as the guys have seen all sorta tourists and travellers. They usually start with a ridiculous price for you to haggle it down. It’s just interesting to see the transactions happening and watch the game from afar. But usually you do get heaps cheaper price here then anywhere else.
Gavin T — Google review
This place has two section. One is located inside the jetty awam semporna, another one is next to it. The one inside are operated by a group of women, mainly selling the flesh of cockles and various sea snails. They even sell sea urchins but all are low grade ones. (The edible portion is very small). The one next to the jetty are handled by the guys. They are the ones who will tricked you into buying high price seafood. No doubt the seafood are fresh from sea, most of the seafood are still alive at the time of transaction. I still feel that this place sell overpriced seafood even though you are a Malaysian. Anyway I have bought from both, and I have to say the seafood are very fresh.
Khye S — Google review
Lots of fresh seafood sellers. You can also get vegetables as well. They sell cheaper for locals but slightly at higher price if you are not. Local authority should take charge so the place would be more clean and organize in the future.

The mall offers stunning sea views and is an ideal place to unwind both during the day and at night. While the convenience of having various shops within the mall is undeniable, it's worth noting that prices may be slightly higher compared to those in town.

The sauce of butter cream shrimp is a must try! (But the shrimp is a bit tiny….) overall everything was great! The chinese girl serves us very well, she recommends us a few dishes which were all delicious! The fish was also superb! It was fresh and the meat was tender 🤭 There was hot tea (free of charge) also! yay! (The restaurant next to it charges everything for beverages, including tea and water)

The crab is alright, but everything here looks like tourist pricing. I could get the same in KL for almost the same price and tastes way way better. But it’s still decent. Not the worst, not the best, but it hits the spot. Crab and seafood are fresh, but prices for them may be a slight turnoff.

Food are quite taste here. The seafood noodles are with very fresh seafood. Amd the soup is very tasty. But the serving time for this noodles is quite long.. the ginger onion crab taste good but would be perfect if it is less salty. Price are reasonable.

Absolutely love this place. Friendly staff too Their seafood is definitely great. We ordered 2 ketam batu, flower crab, 1 butter squid and 1 assam squid and 2 plates of vege and the bill was just rm 100. Honestly don't order their vegetables its just average. You are better off having a full seafood feast here. My favorite is the steamed flower crab. The flower crab doesn't have much meat but it is so sweet. And the Butter Sotong. This is literally heaven. The little sticky gravy that comes with it is amazing. I wanted to pack a portion for breakfast but then gave up the idea. And the very next day I regretted it Assam squid very flavourful but a little too salty. I would order this again but tell them to go easy on the salt. Stick to the seafood and you will be getting great tasting food. Non seafood stuff are just okay. Would definitely come back here again. Ioi

Located in Semporna, the Summer Breeze Cafe is a highly rated restaurant known for its clean and pleasant ambiance. While Semporna is typically associated with seafood, this cafe stands out for its delicious milkshakes and smoothies. The menu offers a wide variety of Western and Asian cuisine, with generous portions that cater to every palate. Tucked away in a cozy and peaceful lane, the atmosphere is perfect for unwinding.
I’ve eaten at this place for twice. The atmosphere is really comfortable, and they accept credit cards.Although the prices are a bit higher compared to street food, the quality and taste are genuinely impressive. The Spicy Tomato sauce , Laksa, and Malaysian Noodles are all absolutely delicious. To wrap up the meal, I had a bowl of iced dessert—its sweet, sour, and milky flavors perfectly balanced the spiciness, marking a perfect ending. As a travel and food critic, I highly recommend this spot!❤️

The food is good and at reasonable price but the service from the staff is very very bad. I dont know whats the purpose of the call button on the table if they are not going to care about it. I used that button to call the staffs 3 times but I was being ignored each time. It is even faster to raise your hand and call the staff. Plus, I ordered the popsicle and initially wanted to eat it after meal, but after a while I decided to have it serve now because they took long time to serve the meal. However, it took them very long to just serve plain popsicle and even worse, the waiter didnt proceed my order in the first place. I ended up went to the popsicle area and picked a new flavour since the flavour I wanted was not available (and they didnt inform me). There’s more, the staff told me every flavour that they had and for one of it, she only mentioned “chocolate”, although in the menu they didnt have “chocolate”, they only had “mint chocolate”. I’m being considerate by giving 2 stars instead of one because they gave us one food for free (didnt charge for it) due to the food being served at room temperature.
Nadia S — Google review
To be honest, it was just a misinterpreted menu for me, they displayed a fruit Popsicle which is beautiful on the menu, but then gave me a chocolate ice cream which looked like it stayed too long in the fridge (see the flaky sugar on the middle)... On the other hand, the sweet and sour doesn't resemble any mentioned recipe I tasted before, in a bad way. They put too much dried Italian Herbs, which were not supposed to be in it in the first place. The waiter for me gave me quite a cheerful welcome, so I have no comment about the service, other than a few waitresses staring at me for a moment. But it's all good as for the service. Summer Breeze, please train your cook and present your food better.

This place was great -easily one of the best we have had in Malaysian Borneo so far. Nice selection of dishes. Quality prepared food, and a good pizza! We had the chicken & mushroom spaghetti with spicy sauce, the mushroom and veg pizza, the bbq chicken and the chicken chop. They were all done very well, and nothing was served cold. Great service. There is a button on the tissue dispenser in order to request service, which is smart and convenient. Will definitely come here again on our way back through from the dive resort.

Good quality food for the price. Love the seafood chowder very much. Other food that we ordered are also equally good. The place is quite small but cosy. Very busy during lunchtime but our order did not take that long to arrive. Overall very satisfied and will come here when I visit Semporna again.

DO NOT GO We only went there because we had a craving for a western food, and the reviews for those are great here, Our fish and chips had NO fish in it. Asian restaurant
Came to eat in the harbor area, which is always full of people and groups — sometimes it’s hard to find a small table for 2. Ended up in this restaurant by chance. Ordered a few dishes to share: 🍤 Garlic prawns with sauce (small portion) 🍳 Omelette 🥡 Vegetarian noodles (small portion — note that medium portions of noodles/rice are quite big, enough for 2 people) Food was good, satisfying for a quick local meal. There was one lady who spoke good English. The rest of the staff didn’t speak much English but were still friendly. The place seems popular with big groups, saw many locals and tourists dining together. A practical choice if you’re around the harbor and want something easy and filling.

Ordered tom yum fried rice and XO fried rice but taste is a bit bland but portion is huge! Very value for money for the price tbat you pay for. Couldn't even finish half of it. Teh ais was actually not bad as i requested it to be less sweet

Seafood is definitely fresh..atmosphere not too bad because it's facing the sea..what makes me really unhappy is the service attitude of the lady boss, she should not scold her waitress in front of us when she couldn't understand our special requirement on the food ended up wrong food served. She didn't want to change the food at all, asked a very dumb question : "so how ah?".....

Decent place for dinner. Food is decently tasty but a bit salt and spicy. Crab and clam was fresh and you can choose it from the aquarium. Overall a good place to have some dinner.

One of the oldest Kopitiam in town with many many years of history. This is the new shop located at the seaside to get more business from the tourists, 6.30am in the morning already people are waiting there. If you can't wait, suggest you walked to the old shop nearby which normally only the locals with visit. Own made bread, half boiled eggs, coffee and tea among the must try items here.

Very crowded due to their tieup with the nearby hotel for breakfast voucher. Overpriced as well. Only roti butter was nice, the noodles was nothing to shout about. Iced coffee without much coffee taste and the soft boiled eggs was bland. They didn't have enough staff to manage the orders and prepare the meals.

1. It's an open air budget friendly seafood restaurant in the Semporna Boardwalk with sea view 2. The owner is very kind and will share necessary information about any question regarding Semporna 3. Food is good and price is reasonable

Don't be misled by the big crowd. Everyone redeeming their hotel breakfast coupon here. Hopeless & very disappointing breakfast. Worst ever tasted mass produced roti kahwin and meehoon goreng while coffee and tea were watered down (not even as good as those provided free in hotel rooms). Service also very poor. Good luck if your lunch box during island hopping or diving activities came from this restaurant, the food is just as tasteless.

Cafe
Starbucks is a popular coffeehouse chain originating from Seattle, offering its signature roasts, light bites, and WiFi access. There are various outlets around the world, including one in Sarawak with a creative design and friendly staff. Some locations offer stunning views by the seaside or during sunset at strategic locations like Semporna Seafest. Customers enjoy spending time there for the atmosphere and picturesque settings.
the best starbucks i've ever seen with good view and good customer service

Service is blazing fast… by the time you pay your drink is ready. Drinks are good, if Starbucks standard is so. Atmosphere is so and so- just crowded by bored and misbehaving tourists waiting for their boat.

Love this Starbucks outlet in Sempoerna, Sabah. It's facing to the seaview, so you can enjoy your breakfast in the morning before you are going to Mabul Island.

Standard Starbucks coffee. Outdoor tables. Nice stop while waiting for boats to the islands.

Very friendly staff, great coffee, delicious biscuits, toilet not well maintained.

Back at my hometown Sarawak, there is Starbucks outlet there but I didn’t have time to drink them not even first time. 🫤☕️☕️ This my first time drinking coffee at Starbucks. ☕️☕️😏 My first order was cocoa cappuccino and it was great. 😋☕️☕️🍫 The design of this place is creative. 🎊 The staff is very kind. If I come back to Sarawak, I would still able to drink their coffee again. 😏☕️☕️

One of the best Starbucks shop with magnificent view of Semporna harbor! Sitting at the alfresco seats overseeing the sea with nice sea breeze and a cup of nicely crafted coffee is a real enjoyment and good way to recharge. Beside, this Starbucks also has a good selection of cake and pie, which really help people who are not used to local Malay and Chinese food!

this is in a great location few steps from the jetty with cool air conditioning, they even serve local flavour pastry and cake. Awesome ambiance and great waiting place for your bus and boat. Missed out on the 2 star as they still serve drinks with plastic straws.
