Nestled in the lush greenery of Canapnapan, Corella, the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary offers a unique opportunity to observe these enchanting primates in their natural habitat. With over 100 tarsiers residing within the sanctuary, visitors can embark on a guided tour along a short jungle trail to spot these adorable creatures—though only eight are visible at any given time. The sanctuary is well-maintained and features informative displays that enhance your understanding of these fascinating animals.
Loved it! The tarsiers live in their natural habitat and the guides go find them each morning. We got to see 3, up close, without bothering them. The guide was awesome, and took many photos and videos for us.
Cort A — Google review
Lovely and well mantained. The tour is really short and the guide put pressure on you to finish it, we did it twice (you can do the same just kindly ask). Would allow people to be a bit more free around the field and spend some time with the lovely tarsier, apart from that lovely experience and glad that people take care of this endemic species
Nico M — Google review
Incredible visit. For 150 php we first saw an explanatory video of 5 min and then we were taken to see some tarsiers with Omai (sorry if misspelled). We saw 3 of them incredibly close. The guide was extremely respectful with the animals and we could see them very well, we are really grateful with him. Impressive!
Andrés P — Google review
Cool spot to see Tarsiers up close! There are signs everywhere saying to be quiet and unfortunately not everyone who visited here was observing those rules. Do your best to tell them to be quiet, It's not fair on the Tarsiers
Patrick O — Google review
It was a very cool experience. I felt like I was out in the wild, really getting to see tarsiers in their natural habitat. Before the actual walk, they also gave an orientation about the tarsiers. The Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary is a truly ethical attraction. Every day, tarsier spotters go out to identify where the animals are resting so visitors can later walk to those spots — the organization doesn’t disrupt or move the tarsiers just to put them on display. You’ll see the tarsiers up close, as there are no railings separating you from them. They were absolutely adorable with their big glassy eyes, and most importantly, they looked very healthy — which reassures you that you’re supporting an ethical attraction. I highly recommend visiting here instead of the other popular tarsier site (which I won’t name, just in case this review gets flagged). That other place felt too commercialized and touristy. The tarsiers there seemed stressed, and I even noticed man-made “nests,” which made me wonder if the animals were just placed there for visitors to see. Support this organization please. 🙏🏼
Rokss L — Google review
A very unique and cool experience in Bohol. You watch a short 5 minute video about the sanctuary and then take a walk with a guide. He leads you around the enclosure which is also their natural habitat. We got to see 3 Tarsiers up close without disturbing them as they’re nocturnal. The information centre is also a nice space to spend some time and read all about these interesting creatures. You won’t spend a lot of time inside the sanctuary maybe only 10 minutes but it’s enough to see them and for the guide to take some super cool photos.
Olly S — Google review
Got some amazing photos and videos!! Only saw 3 tarsiers, the tour was quite short, but the quality was amazing! The facilities could do with some updating for educational purposes, but not bad at all for 150 pesos❤️❤️I love tarsierss

It was ok , very cheap... We only had 3 tarsiers to observe but they were good ones. The guide was good and very helpful with the photos

Historic Sites
Baclayon Church, also known as La Purisima Concepcion de la Virgen Maria Parish Church, is a Catholic church constructed in the 1590s using coral stones. It houses a museum exhibiting religious relics. This historical landmark is the oldest Christian settlement in Bohol and holds a significant place in Filipino tradition. The church was built by Spanish priests in 1727 with forced labor, adding to its historical importance.
Baclayon Church in Bohol is one of the oldest stone churches in the Philippines, dating back to the early 1700s. Its coral stone walls, centuries-old religious relics, and antique altar offer a glimpse into Spanish colonial history. Despite damage from the 2013 earthquake, much of its charm and heritage remain intact. A must-visit for history and architecture enthusiasts.
Fabio T — Google review
Quick stop at Baclayon Church - still amazed me I’m always amazed by the history and cultural importance of Baclayon Church. It’s one of those places that really makes you think how far back our history goes. There’s no big change since the last time I visited and that was 18 years ago! I remember hearing that the bell tower collapsed during the 2013 earthquake, but thankfully it has now been restored. I didn’t get to go inside this time as it was closed, but still happy to stop by even for a few minutes. The church, built in 1727, is one of the oldest in the country and you can really feel that when you’re there. Short visit, but always worth a look if you’re nearby.

Baclayon Church is a beautiful and historic landmark that’s perfect for a quick cultural stop. Its preserved Spanish-era architecture and peaceful atmosphere make it a meaningful place to pause, reflect, and snap a few photos. While it’s not a long-stay destination, it’s definitely worth visiting to appreciate a piece of Bohol’s rich heritage.

We made our usual quick stop at Baclayon Church, known as the oldest church in Bohol. The structure is rich with history and character, and every visit feels like stepping back in time. As someone who loves old and historical places, I’m always amazed by its charm and significance.

I am amazed when i got in on the church. the murals on the ceiling are eye catching and will stop to admire.

It’s old, grand, and full of history — definitely a meaningful visit. But once you’ve lit a candle and taken your pics, that’s about it. Once is enough unless you're into historic churches!

I am very blessed to have an opportunity to visit this church, to pray, praise, give thanks to our Lord God🙏
Erwin C — Google review
The church is well preserved, there's a museum here where you can learn more about the church's history. The main door of church is closed if they don't have a mass, and you can only access it through their museum where you need to pay for the ticket. If you have a student id, you can have a discount.

Baclayon Art Museum, located in Bohol, is a fascinating destination for those interested in the religious history of Tagbilaran and Spanish Colonial Period artifacts in the Philippines. Housed inside the old convent next to Baclayon Church, this small yet impressive museum showcases ecclesiastical vestments, hymnals, life-sized images of saints, and other relics left by the Spaniards.

Dolphin & Whale Watching
Pamilacan Island Whale and Dolphin Watching Tours offer an unforgettable experience with the amazing dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. The tour is highly praised for its exceptional service, with visitors expressing gratitude towards the owner, crew, and locals on Pamilacan Island. The tour includes dolphin watching, snorkeling with giant turtles, and a delicious lunch at Mary's cottage. Visitors are encouraged to take a leisurely stroll through the village to immerse themselves in the slow-paced life of the island.
A terrific experience in my whole travel, not just because I saw the amazing dolphins 🐬 going around but how they treated, genuinely- JR the owner of tour, Mama/her family in Pamilacan island and all the crew, love you guys! I did two days, with special help of the tour team and finally we saw and dolphins. Some dolphins accompanied our boat! What an amazing nature! Bohol, Pamilacan … you won my heart! Travelled so many countries but this was special, and I will be back whenever I get time to reach that far! Watching dolphine in their real life was amazing, those happy, playing, freedom dolphins 😍

We had a nice day with Michelle and Ofelia. They showed us dolphins before going to the island. Snorkeling was really beautiful with corails, fish and turtles. They explained us the island history which was really interesting 🙏

This was the highlight of my Philippines trip! Had the most amazing time riding out to the island, seeing the dolphins swimming with the boat, eating fresh tuna prepared three ways for lunch, and snorkeling in Pamilacan Island.

We spent a perfect day on this private tour. Everything was beyond our expectations, from the dolphin watching to snorkelling with giant turtles and in a respectful/ethical way of the wildlife! The lunch at Mary's cottage was great and had vegetarian meals also. We recommand to take time to walk by the village, eat pastries in front of the school and just enjoy the slow life of the Pamilacan island people. A big thank you to them and the tour guide! The Blood Compact Shrine, also known as the Sandugo Shrine, is a famous monument in the Philippines that commemorates a significant historical event. It depicts the blood compact ceremony between Spanish explorer Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and native chieftain Datu Sikatuna in 1565. This ritual symbolized the beginning of friendly relations between the Spanish and Filipinos.
The Sandugo is a very meaningful in bohol I think that is what make bohol a very open and friendly city or town. The blood compact Shrine honors the friendship , unity and diplomacy between the spaniards and Boholano. The roads are not yet developed so be careful especially motorcycle.
Mark L — Google review
The Blood Compact Shrine in Tagbilaran is a small but meaningful historical site. It marks the first peace treaty between the Spaniards and Filipinos in 1565. The bronze statue is well-made and overlooks a nice sea view. It’s a quick stop that you can include in your tour if you have extra time. There’s no entrance fee, but there’s not much historical signage and not much else to see. It would also be great if local officials could improve the road leading to the monument.
PaFer — Google review
The sculpture was transferred to a new location near the coast, few meters from the original site. The new location is much spacious with potential to accommodate more historical structures. There is now dedicated parking area, however the road created to access the site is yet to be paved. There are few shops offering quick bites, souvenirs and photography. There are lots to improve, but overall the experience is great.
Robert A — Google review
It's a nice place to take in history or if you just wanna have a relaxing day at the park. I wish there were more stalls to get food though. There was one food truck when we went, but it was closed-not sure if it's permanently closed or not though. It might be cause it was already late in the afternoon when we went and it wasn't open.
Arabelle — Google review
This site is easily accessible and holds great historical significance. It appears they are working to develop it into more of a tourist park, with souvenir trucks and displays of statues honoring important figures in the island’s history. Unfortunately, many of the statues are poorly crafted and not well maintained, showing visible signs of decay.
Maria R — Google review
a very small area containing statues and an amphitheater. place needs maintenance as some statues have fell. Just a nice place for a quick tour around.
Kairus D — Google review
Just a statue depicting the scene of the Blood compact. The road leading to the area was rocky and not maintained. There must be a good access to the place.
Jasper C — Google review
One of the classic tourist curcuit stops. They moved it from the main road to down by the amphitheater. A few flights down to reach it, or take the single lane muddy road. Decent spot for a picnic in the city.

Patrons can expect delicious food that is complemented by good service and a pleasant atmosphere. However, it should be noted that there was an incident with a hornet due to the presence of a nearby nest. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience at Niks Diner is positive.
A nice diner just by the street with a beautiful and calm terrace with views to the forest. The menu offers filipino style food and fast food. The burger with free range chicken was very tasty. The prices are more than fair for the quality.

Perfect place for a meal after visiting the Tarsier sanctuary! I thought the prices seemed high, but the portions were very generous. My girlfriend and I shared a chicken and vegetable dish and we were stuffed. The ice coffee was very good. The atmosphere was great, the wooden tables, lighting, and jungle scenery was 🤌. We enjoyed watching a cat hunting for bugs in the bushes below. We will definitely come here again!

We ordered: Chicken fingers Kaldereta Pancit bihon, iced tea and avocado shake. The food is good, the service was good too. The atmosphere is good too except that there was a hornet and scared us all cause it kept coming to us then we found out that there wasa hornet house/nest underneath the table. Ps: I know its right there in the nature with all the plants and forest around so its normal to have bees, flies, mosquitoes or even hornets but yeah i just thought id write that down. Nonetheless, it was good food , good staff and ambiance! Worth it naman to eat here! Daghang Salamat po. Mubalik me here :) next time.

St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Shrine, located in Tagbilaran City, is a must-visit landmark in Bohol Island. Often described as the highlight of city tours, this beautiful and quiet church boasts stunning paintings on its ceiling and walls made of corals. Visitors are impressed by its ornate interior and historical bell tower. The cathedral offers a serene escape from the bustling city, making it a great place to relax and reflect during a visit to Bohol Island.
This is a very quiet and beautiful church in a very busy area of tagb. The insides are amazing and there must be some great history with the bell tower. I wish it was open to the public. The inside is incredibly ornate and a great place to relax and ponder life in the middle of a hot Bohol day.

Paris in Tagbilaran was founded in 1595 by Jesuit missionaries. The original church was razed by fire in 1798. The church was reconstructed and enlarged from 1839 to 1855. The convent and the tower were constructed from 1884 to 1888. Due to the 2013 Bohol earthquake, the exterior and interior of the cathedral had undergone major reconstructions. The church was very crowded on Palm Sunday.

The intricate details of the shrine and the beautiful stained glass windows contribute to its sacred atmosphere. Whether you're a local resident or a visitor, St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Shrine is a place of solace and reverence, making it a must-visit destination in Bohol.

this place has a magnificent interior design. the moral on the ceiling is majestic and makes you feel like your in Rome. the place offers a car park for those who has vehicles. although the exterior part of the cathedral may look old but that is what makes the cathedral look authentic.. the candle area is loceted beside the cathedral which also has beautiful statues of Jesus, Mary, Jospeh, etc. right next to the candle area is the rest room which is clean and oderless... overall, i love the place and would plan to visit here if i ever come back to Bohol....

Since I started travelling, really like to visit museums/provisions that displays anything pervaded the city. One is to know the history though I don't really read all of the artifacts but just seeing them in one depository makes my visit complete. Two is to feel connected and see what are the things to expect aside from just seeing the views. Three is to take some photos for keepsake. It was a great experience. It's just free. A must visit especially for students. Museums are very informative. ALSO, for tourist, if you are planning to buy ASIN-TIBUOK and you want to visit here, they are being sold at the entrance (front desk) and it was sold by SRP as they are direct from the maker.

A Cultural Gem in Bohol This well-maintained museum offers a compelling glimpse into Bohol’s rich history and heritage. One of the highlights is the detailed biography of Carlos P. Garcia, the 8th President of the Philippines and a proud Boholano. His legacy is thoughtfully preserved in this museum. 🌋 Exhibits Worth Exploring Visitors can also learn about the fascinating geological formation of the Chocolate Hills, along with other exhibits that showcase Bohol’s natural wonders, cultural traditions, and historical milestones. The museum provides a well-rounded experience for history buffs, curious travelers, and proud locals alike. 🎟️ Good to Know • Location: Tagbilaran City, Bohol • Entrance Fee: Free of charge • Ideal For: Families, students, solo travelers, and anyone interested in Philippine history and Boholano pride 📌 If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit—not just for the exhibits, but for the sense of place and identity it celebrates.

Title: A good museum you can spend easily 1h here. Interesting information about Bohol. A part is about the ex President of Philippines that born in Bohol and another part is about an artist, the Island and the churches + No entry fee + Air conditioned + Clean and safe + Near another attraction the Church you can visit both - Difficult to find a parking place - Mostly havy traffic because the Museum is on the main street ************************** Explanation of my votings + Pro - Contra o Only for your information 5 Stars: It was really special, you must try it 4 Stars: It was nice, you should try it 3 Stars: Nothing special, you could try it 2 Stars: Try only if you have no alternative 1 Stars: Bad, don't bother trying ->>> To understand... Why do I give 5 stars so rarely? Out of over 360 ratings, I realised that there are no businesses that are 100% perfect. I rate businesses in relation to an area, such as a city and the surrounding area. Most businesses in an area sell similar products of different qualities, and I rate these products up to a maximum of 4 stars. Therefore, I decided to give 5 stars if a business in this region has a unique selling point. This could be a unique product, an awesome view, or cosy surroundings that set them apart from other businesses in the area. Even if their products are not perfect, I can still give a five-star rating if there is something special about them. ->>>

Cafe
Nestled in Bohol Bee Farm, The Buzzz Café - Galleria Luisa is a charming beachfront spot offering a relaxing atmosphere and stunning seaside views. Indulge in delectable treats like halo-halo and ice-cold cocktails while taking in the coastal scenery. The café also serves an array of snacks, à la carte or buffet meals, and local favorites made from ingredients sourced from their organic garden and farm.
Good ice cream. Salted honey is my favorite.

The service was terrible. We waited almost 2 hours for our food, even though we ordered first. Five other tables got their food before us. When our pizza was finally ready, they gave it to another table by mistake, and we had to wait another hour. We followed up five times, but the staff just kept blaming each other. I really love Buzz Restaurant, but I’ll never come back to this branch.

Although the place could use a bit of updating, it’s still a nice place after lunch service to while your time away. The AC was strong, I was able to charge my phone and no one cared I stayed for an hour and a bit more. I’ve always loved their ice cream choices, sikwate and puto were not to my liking.

The place seem to be very small looking outside the entrance but very cozy and spacious inside. It has many tables that can accommodate different group sizes. The food is great. It is very relaxing and staffs are really doing their job. But because of the goodness of the place, expect a lot of people dining during meal hours. The store is open from 7 am to 9 pm.

The restaurant now has a new look and layout, but it keeps its rustic charms and relaxed ambience. It feels a little less spacious though because the space makes room for a larger open area. The food remains great and it has significantly expanded its menu items. The restaurant also sells ice cream in scoops or in tubs, breads, spreads, and organic home products like lip balms, soaps, shampoo and conditioner. This resto remains to be a favorite among locals and tourists.

Nice food, lovely ambience resembling a farm. You also get a good view of the sea and the ferry terminal from here. Spicy beef pasta tasted better than it looks. Drinks are yummy and reasonably priced too.

The second time around but the first time around taking their precious rice meal. The food itself is unquestionable taste and surprisingly wow. The pork meat is just so tender. Perfectly cooked black rice. Fresh is fresh for lumpia. Lemon Grass for drink. Its even quite quick for the serving time. Everthing is almost perfection. #Highly recommended.

If you are a health concious person, well this place suits for you. They served a lot of healthy options from appetizer, main dish and dessert that claimed to be organic and homemade. It is a well-known for its nature-inspired plating of their food that I found really eye-catching especially those with edible flowers that I've never known. And the best I could describe is their ice cream that is way beyond compare. The fruity and milky texture of the ice cream top on a unique cone of cassava would make you ask for more. Overall, it is no wonder why it is called a Bohol's pride cafeteria...

Casa Rocha-Suarez Heritage Center

Nestled in the charming town of Garcia-Hernandez, Casa Rocha-Suarez Heritage Center is a captivating destination that beautifully showcases the rich cultural tapestry of its history. While not ancient, this heritage center has been lovingly preserved by its original family, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the past. As you wander through its halls, you'll encounter an exquisite blend of Chinese and Spanish influences reflected in the old-fashioned furniture and antique decorations that adorn each room.
The establishment is not open for the public until further notice. I went there last August 2015 and to my dismay, I ended up at the gates.

Aproniana Gift Shop

Souvenir store
Aproniana Gift Shop, located just a 3-minute walk from Baclayon Church, is known as the ultimate souvenir destination in Bohol. The shop offers a wide range of items including shirts, bags, jewelry, wooden crafts, local delicacies and more. Visitors can also enjoy discounts on various items and may even receive a 10% discount coupon randomly. This spacious shop provides a one-stop destination for all your souvenir needs and local delicacies.
Considered as “Bohol’s ultimate souvenir destination”, Aproniana Souvenir Shop sells almost anything you want so you can remember the memories you spent in Bohol. The shop sells the following: Stuffed Tarsiers Shirts Bags Replicas Bracelets Necklaces Hats Decorations Key-chains Wood Products Lanterns Bohol Delicacies A 10% discount coupon is given to visitors randomly. Hopefully if you visit the place, the son of the owner is there to give you the coupon. But I think this is just part of their marketing strategy to entice visitors to buy their products and I believe you can get the discount coupon from any of the employees. Without the discount coupon, you can still say that the price is very affordable compared to buying in souvenir shops near other attraction sites such as Loboc River’s Floating Resto, Chocolate Hills, Butterfly Conservation Center, Prony the Python and a lot more souvenir shops spread throughout the whole island of Bohol. -phtourguide

A great place to buy souvenirs while in Bohol. They sell shirts, delicacies, keychains, bags and many more. It is spacious and you can roam and look around for whatever interests you. They accept cash or card payment. Staff were nice and polite.
Lyza T — Google review
Just an ordinary souvenir shop. It has a wide variety of souvenir choices but quite expensive for its price, might because it is more accessible and renowned for some. If you availed for a Bohol Land Tour, it's highly possible your tour guide would bring you here. I believe they have a "share" once they would bring more customers willing to buy.
K G — Google review
Big selection of souvenirs, prices are reasonable and discounted if paid by cash Staff were helpful

Large souvenir shop favored by tour guides. Parking for buses and vans. Lots to choose from - food items, clothing, knick-knacks, kitchen magnets, etc. Everything seems to be on the inexpensive side - no jewelry or artwork. Cash, credit cards accepted.

One stop shop for Bohol souvenir items and local delicacies. Got a shirt, a bag, chocolates, yummy peanut cookies and mushroom chips. Salespeople are accommodating and friendly. This is a cash only store.

Complete pasalubong place I guess. It's large with lots of choices. Also accepts GCash which is convenient for some.

JOSÉ Tagbilaran is a top Filipino restaurant in Bohol, offering a wide range of freshly cooked Filipino dishes. The menu includes classic favorites like Caldareta and Pork Sisig, as well as other delectable options. Customers rave about the generous portions and flavorful dishes such as buttered chicken and chicken inasal. The impeccable service provided by the staff adds to the overall dining experience.
This is really a good place to get Fillipino food . I had Tinolo Pampano and grilled Tuna Panga. The food was delicious , and service very good . The restaurant is quite popular and a good adress for a nice meal.

Great food, great service as well. Their sisig was so crunchy and tasty. Best bicol express in the city as well!! The only downside was the flies around. They need to do something about it. Nonetheless, the food was great and the people there are friendly and accommodating. I would recommend their chicken skin and sisig!

I had dinner here twice. The food was very tasty and got it quickly. Service was friendly however after serving the food they were not attentive at all. It took ages to even make eye contact with someone so that could be improved I think.

We live in Panglao Island and come from China. We drive motorbike for 30 minutes to enjoy our dinner. It’s the best dinner we ever have in Tabilaran and the service is perfect. If you want have some seafood I recommend this restaurant strongly.

The food was delicious, and it’s a great place to experience authentic Filipino cuisine. The staff was also very kind and attentive. I highly recommend it!

Food was good. Seating was all outside and not all had fans. So was very hot.
Karina O — Google review
Great dinner at JOSÉ Tagbilaran! Ordered the Kare Kare which was delicious, though the beef could have been a bit more tender! Also ordered a delicious mango/banana shake which I very much enjoyed (seriously I would come back just for this shake). Atmosphere was pretty, but it was outdoor seating without aircon, so be prepared to swat some flies! The service was friendly! Overall I would come back here if craving Filipino food!
Adam F — Google review
All of the meals they provided is suitable for sharing. My hubby was a big fan of their balbacua. Their chopsuey is loaded with fried pork. We didn't care for the sisig since it was very sweet. We were unable to complete everything, so we requested that the staff to eat / take home our leftovers. I've attached the receipt so you can get a sense of the total bill of the food we ate.
