Points of Interest & Landmarks
Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks, also known as Hin Ta Hin Yai, are natural rock formations in Thailand that resemble male and female genitalia. Legend has it that they are named after an old couple who died at sea while traveling to arrange a marriage for their son. These unique formations have become a popular tourist attraction on Ko Samui, drawing visitors to the Fishermans Village along Bo Phut Beach.
Memorable excursion to one of the islands attractions. It's worth a visit. There are shops with local sweets and coconut ice cream, and you can take a dip to cool off after climbing around the natural rock formations.
J M — Google review
The location is nice and some people may enjoy the experience here. However, in my opinion, there are many other attractions in Samui that offer more unique and memorable experiences. If your time on the island is short, I’d recommend prioritizing other places first.
Rave G — Google review
The famous grandmother and grandfather rock resembling the private parts of male and female. The rocks are naturally like this. Good spot for picture. Must visit
Zaid R — Google review
Nice place to chill if you doing the Samui Ring road ride. 10 bahts parking fee for scooters. Plenty of cafes and eateries. It is cool. It is chill. Not a beach for swimming because of all the rocks. Nice way to spend half an hour in Samui.
Nisit P — Google review
Hin Ta and Hin Yai Rocks are definitely one of those must-see spots when you're in Koh Samui. Known as the “Grandfather and Grandmother Rocks,” the formations are famous for their unique, naturally shaped appearance — you’ll understand the name as soon as you see them! 😄 The area is small but scenic, with the rocks set against a beautiful coastal backdrop, perfect for a quick photo stop. There’s a viewing platform and some nearby stalls selling souvenirs, drinks, and local coconut ice cream, which is perfect on a hot day. It doesn’t take long to visit, but it's worth stopping by if you're passing through Lamai. Aside from the funny shapes, the local legend behind the rocks adds cultural interest. Parking is available, and the spot is easy to access — just a short walk from the entrance.
Kyd M — Google review
A lengedery myth of a natural rock formation is of an elderly couple who drowned in sea and naturally transformed into a rock . Locals consider it as a sacred place and symbolises fertility
Rajarshi G — Google review
Nice little spot to sit and take in the views and see fish and crabs in the rock pools. There’s a rock that looks like a dingus also which is a result.
Damien J — Google review
A nice place to visit to see rock formations and hear the story of grandfather and grandmother who sadly died here long time ago. We walked along the beach from our hotel, so it was a nice walk but if you are coming by car, there is not much else to do.

Waterfalls
Na Muang 2 Waterfall is situated in the southern part of Koh Samui's ring road and can be easily accessed by following a sign directing to the waterfall and Na Muang Safari Park. Visitors have the option to either take an off-road jeep from the safari park or follow the road up to reach the waterfall. It is part of a park that also houses Na Muang 1, known as the 'Purple Waterfalls.'
Beautiful walk through the mountain. It's quite challenging, with some sections precarious. There are lot of ropes around to help both the way up and especially down! If you keep going, and guess your way up the mountain a bit, you'll be treat to spectacular views and a very cold mountain waterfall, perfect place for a swim and to sit and just watch. Has a lovely bar at the bottom with a friendly dog.
Mark C — Google review
The hike up the waterfall takes about 40 minutes, but the view is definitely worth the effort. Some tourist tips: 🔅Better to arrive early in the morning to enjoy the view peacefully and take photos. We got there by 9 a.m. —there were only a couple of people at the top and a dog😁 By 10.30 a.m. it was already crowded, and the vibe wasn’t the same anymore 🔅Bring water with you (you can buy it at the start of the trail) and insect repellent (!!) —we got literally hundreds of mosquito bites along the way 🔅 Wear sneakers and casual clothing, as at some point the trail ends and you need to climb over rocks We came by scooter, free parking
Katerina V — Google review
Walk through the jungle is nice - if you time it right! Lots of jungle tours operate, so you might be caught in a big crowd. The waterfall itself is just a trickle of water, but must change from season to season (!?)… I saw people in flip flops that could’nt continue! I’d advise to Wear trainers as it’s steep and slippery! Enjoy!! If you can get the trail to yourself, it’s beautiful!
Tessa S — Google review
We enjoyed a few minutes by this waterfall. Not many other people were there and we weren’t charged for entrance or parking. I didn’t see any mosquitoes but we had a ton of bites appear the next day, come prepared just in case. Steep roads to get there but totally doable for experienced scooter drivers. Definitely not deep enough to swim. About a 5 minute walk from nearest parking.
Yaro S — Google review
About a 45-minute trek from the parking lot for cars. Very steep so definitely bring sneakers or other appropriate footwear. Do not do this hike if you are not in decent shape. Fairly treacherous at points. A cool waterfall to bathe in as your reward! Don’t forget bug spray.
Melanie F — Google review
I hope everyone see my comments don't pin to Waterfall, Google will take you the wrong Pin to elephant Kingdom Safari. When you reach elephant Kingdom turn right and ride a motorbike across the mountain for about 700 meters and you will arrive. And I recommend wearing sneakers and long pants with mosquito repellent spray if you don't want to have a fatal slip accident die and get bitten by mosquitoes. I want you all to be very careful about wearing shoes and walking. Thank you.
Lele L — Google review
The waterfall is worth seeing, but the overall experience was more challenging than expected. The hot, humid climate makes the hike exhausting, and the trail is poorly marked. To reach the top, you have to cross the river near the base, but the path on the right quickly turns dangerously steep. Unless you truly enjoy tough hikes in difficult conditions, the effort may not feel rewarding.
Benjamin — Google review
Just awesome. Drive up with your moto to the second parking. That a right at the information centre. Walk up to the bar and cross the water there. Keep the waterfall on your right during your climb. You will reach the viewpoint where you can shower and bath in a he waterfall.

Na Muang Waterfall

3.9
(3584)
Na Mueang Waterfall is a breathtaking natural gem located in the heart of Koh Samui, known for its stunning cascades and inviting rock pools. This enchanting site features two waterfalls, with the larger one plunging 30 meters into a serene pool that beckons visitors for a refreshing swim. The surrounding landscape transforms during the rainy season, as water flows over striking purple rocks, creating an ethereal atmosphere.
Beautiful place in the jungle. There is huge parking that costs 20 BTH even for a car. There are some 4-5 elephants that you can feed for a small fee. 50 for a ball of cereals and 100 for a basket of bananas. The waterfall is accessible with flip-flops. It is around 100m from the parking lot. There are plenty of kiosks with souvenirs, cheap coconuts, and some even offer food. If you cross the pond, you can find a natural swing and feel like a Tarzan 😉
Tomas R — Google review
Positive thoughts about this place: - The waterfalls are stunning. - There’s no entry fee to visit. - Parking costs only 20 THB if you're using a motorbike. - You can swim and relax in the waterfall area. - There are small stores that sell food, drinks, and souvenirs. Negative points: - As far as I know, the people managing the waterfalls are also involved in exploiting elephants for profit (though I didn’t see any elephants myself). Please avoid supporting that part of the business, as it is not an ethical sanctuary. - Sometimes the shop owners can be a bit pushy or impatient while you're browsing for food or souvenirs. In conclusion: If you go there just for the waterfalls, it can be a wonderful experience. But if you choose to support the elephant-riding business… well, I hope karma finds its way to you when you least expect it :)
Diego E — Google review
Uncontrolled mass tourism and its negative side effects: The waterfall itself was decent and a real beauty! Surrounding nature was full of trash - so heartbreaking - that's why we spent some time picking up some of the plastic waste (third picture) even though it should be the park management's responsibility to keep this area clean or to instruct people to not dispose their garbage next to the river/waterfall! The elephant riding spot at the waterfall's parking spot made this day a big NO GO! Thailand you could do so much better! 😣🐘😪
Zinedin01 — Google review
Another piece of tranquillity tucked away from the main road. A short walk up the hill with a few stairs down the other side leads to the waterfall. It's a relatively easy walk and shouldn't deter anyone from making the trip. Not a huge flow of water on the day we were there, but that didn't really detract from the sites natural beauty. Swimming is available in the waterhole below the waterfall, if you are brave enough to climb down to the water.
David F — Google review
It was a nice waterfall but so many tourists and you had to walk past people selling usual expensive touristy tat to get there. Also there was an awful unethical elephant sanctuary right next to the car park which added to the unpleasant vibe. There were too many people and it didn't feel like a nice place for swimming. I am probably spoilt with seeing other amazing waterfalls because others clearly have a different perspective. The water looked dirty but only because it had rained and that isn't what put me off. I wouldn't bother visiting.
Christine B — Google review
Lovely waterfall that takes 5 minutes to get there, only sad thing is that before you get there, there is an unethical elephant riding and feeding. I would highly recommend not buying or encouraging the engagement with that. Apart from that, very nice, few stores and food.
Liam R — Google review
Na Muang Waterfall 1 is an easy-to-reach and refreshing escape in Koh Samui. The walk from the parking area is short, and you can enjoy the sound of the water and the lush jungle around. The waterfall is not very tall, but the atmosphere feels authentic and peaceful, especially if you arrive early before the tour groups. There are small local stalls selling coconuts and snacks nearby, and you can also take nice photos in the pool area. Great place to relax for an hour or two.
Shay Y — Google review
Nice scenic area with plenty of food and drink options but not crazy commercialized. Natural environment in the jungle but easy for all the family to access and enjoy. The waterfall is very pretty and good to swim in, can dry up a little in dry season though. Not completely but there isn’t as much water.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Paradise Park Farm is a sprawling 20-acre mountaintop park in Koh Samui, offering a range of activities for families. The park boasts serene surroundings and an interactive wildlife experience, with colorful pigeons being a major attraction. Visitors can also enjoy feeding and observing various animals such as deer, goats, rabbits, parrots, and ducks. Additionally, the park features a restaurant serving delectable local and European dishes.
This is a truly amazing place, located on a hill with magnificent panoramic views. The variety of birds and animals makes it a wonderful attraction for both children and adults. Visitors are given food to feed them, which adds to the experience. Entrance fees are 400 THB for adults and 200 THB for children under 130 cm. We spent about 3–4 hours here, including some relaxing time in the swimming pool. Towels are available with a 200 THB deposit. The area is very clean and well-maintained. There’s also a lovely restaurant on-site with great views, offering both Thai and Western dishes — all delicious and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for a fun and relaxing visit. The only downside for us was seeing that some pigeons had their tails painted in different colors — which we feel is not respectful treatment of animals.
Rave G — Google review
A magical place that’s perfect for the whole family! We visited Paradise Park Farm with our kids and absolutely loved it. The views are breathtaking – the park is located high in the mountains and offers an incredible panoramic view of the island. There’s a lovely variety of friendly animals like deer, parrots, meerkats, and even peacocks walking around freely – a great experience for children. One of the highlights is the swimming pool – clean water, stunning views, and a peaceful atmosphere. There’s also a small restaurant with simple but tasty food. The staff were kind and welcoming, and we felt very much at home. It’s best to come in the morning before it gets too hot. Totally worth it – a perfect mix of nature, animals, and unforgettable scenery. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samui!

When I ask my two young daughters, what their favorite thing to do on Samui Island was... they unanimously say the paradise bird farm! This was a recommendation from our taxi truck driver and we are so glad we went. The owners of this farm clearly have a deep love for animals and it shows because they are so well cared for. If you have ever wondered what it is like to be part of a flock of colorful pigeons... This is your place. We could have spent three times as much time here but we were touring other locations that day and had to get moving. I would say 2 to 3 hours at this place would be easy to do with kids who love animals. The petting/feeding zoo side is great and they also have a pool with an amazing view. Thank you very much for a lovely time and for the funny keychains which are now on my kids school bags ☺️

Paradise Park Farm is a lovely spot high in the mountains of Koh Samui, with incredible panoramic views of the island. The atmosphere is peaceful, and it’s a great place to relax with kids or friends. There’s a nice swimming pool overlooking the hills, friendly animals to feed, and shady areas to sit and enjoy the breeze. The drive up is a bit steep, but totally worth it once you arrive. A mix of nature, animals, and amazing scenery – perfect for a half-day trip.
Shay Y — Google review
Awesome place, can spend all day there, meet and feed the animals, eat in the restaurant, swim in the pool. Enjoy an amazing view! Very helpful staff. Animals are friendly and super cute! ‼️No drone videos, the place is near military base, so it’s highly prohibited to fly drones…
Anna D — Google review
A pleasant peaceful place with well-groomed animals, you can also buy food there and enjoy hand-feeding. There is a swimming pool with a beautiful view and sun loungers, so take swimsuits and towels. There is a café - we did not eat, but, as an option, you can. You can do it with children, but adults will also like it, if you remember a little how happy children are)
Nina L — Google review
Very nice experience! Unique experience with feeding the colorful pigeons. We enjoyed also the swimming pool which has a great view. The restaurants offers few dishes, also suitable for kids and the prices are decent.
Mor H — Google review
This place is absolutely heartbreaking. The animals here are suffering, and it’s impossible to ignore. The peacocks have their tails cut, the bunnies are kept in filthy cages and covered in cuts, and every enclosure looks miserable and neglected. The cages are far too small, dirty, and completely unsuitable for the animals’ needs.

Nathon Pier is a major ferry terminal located in the northwest of Koh Samui. The pier is surrounded by shops and food stalls, offering convenience to travelers. Visitors can embark on luxury cruises from Seatrans Discovery Yacht, which includes activities like kayaking, snorkeling, and enjoying an international buffet lunch while cruising towards attractions like Koh Tai Plow and Koh Mae Koh.
We walk around the pier looking for massage parlor and found one which is clean and the masseurs skills are good. Price quite steep compare to Laemchang, but it's still worth spending. The area is safe and after 3pm, there is a food street near the pier
Christina C — Google review
This small pier is well-organized and traveler-friendly, featuring essential amenities for convenience and comfort. There are dedicated ticket offices for ferry services, including Lomprayah, as well as a tour counter and a currency exchange booth. The area is clean and sheltered, with a spacious waiting area and available seating for passengers. Additional facilities such as a toilet are present, making it a practical stop for those traveling to nearby islands. The overall atmosphere is open, bright, and efficient, providing a smooth experience for visitors.
Olenka S — Google review
The ferries here go to a number of islands besides Samui. When boarding, passengers must alight and and walk while the driver and vehicle go in separate from the passengers. Passengers must ensure you board at the correct time otherwise you will be in a different ferry from your vehicle. This happened to my group and our driver was frantically looking for us in the ferry. We boarded a ferry that left half an hour earlier.

We came to Koh Samui from Surat Thani by ferry. It is very nice to travel by ferry and its convenience is also very nice. If you are coming by ferry, then you can sit on the terrace and the sea that is visible in the top view is very beautiful.

The pier has a walkway down both sides covering the full length. Good views on the walk. The water is quite clear so you can watch the fish swimming as you are walking along. Loads of taxis waiting if needed.

Only place which connects you to mainland via ferry. I came from Surat Thani. Clean and good vibe. You can get that Koh Samui Tuk Tuk (suv with two bench on the back) to drop you to your hotel if you looking for cheaper travel or you can hire a cab via grab ;from here. There are a couple of food market near by, one is just outside which starts in the evening. Very cheap and good fresh food. Other one may be 10 minutes walk from here . Larger market.

Ko Samui, a stunning island nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, is a true tropical haven that captivates visitors with its breathtaking white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters. This vibrant destination seamlessly blends natural beauty with modern comforts, featuring luxurious resorts and an exciting nightlife scene that draws families and high-end travelers alike.
Beautiful island definitely worth a visit. Not that hard to get to from Bangkok. Plenty of flights or you can take the bus. Nice to get away from the city life of BKK for a while and refresh. You will need to rent a scooter or car to get around the island. The locals are very kind & friendly.

Great place for a vacation, romantic or family based. The island is not as small as it seems on the map, it can take upto an hour to drive round it. Also if your driving there can be traffic in some sections. Chaweng beach road is the best place for nightlife with excellent restaurants. The elephant sanctuaries are a great place to visit but avoid Elephant rides, they use a steel spike on the Elephant to make it move, it seems very cruel. There are numerous beaches and most of them are absolutely postcard paradise picture perfect. Would love to visit there again. You can go by air with daily flights from Bangkok or by road and ferry.

Lamai Viewpoint & Valentine Stone is a must-visit spot in Koh Samui, Thailand. Nestled on a forested hill, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding natural beauty. You can reach this picturesque location by either hiking along a trail or taking a cable car ride to the top. Once there, you can enjoy refreshing drinks at the lookout deck with a bar while soaking in the stunning scenery.
It was a short hike up steps I am slightly mobility impaired but was able to make it up the steps to the cable car. They were making a new concrete stairway while we were there. That wil make getting to the cable car a safer hike up. The cable car was comfortable and very smooth. The viewpoint is very nice and a wonderful place to see part of the island. It does cost 200 baht per person. They have a bar and some appetizer at the lookout. We purchased a coke for 50 baht. We stayed and enjoyed the view for about an hour.
Sara C — Google review
Caught a ride up as I'd read it was a pretty tricky walk, but having seen it, it's not as bad as it's made out. Nice but pricey cup of coffee at the top. Not a soul around which suited me. Sat for a good while just looking out, and watching the birds and insects. Nice way to while away an hour if like me you don't have wheels and are close by. Did see some people come up for the zip wire, but as it's really short, it wasn't for me. Really lovely staff. Didn't see the fish that have been mentioned in previous posts, so if you are looking for them, I think you'll be out of luck.
Tatum T — Google review
It was just a 5-minute walk to the viewpoint, but honestly, you can get the same view from many spots around the island for free. They asked us to pay 100 THB per person, and the walk wasn’t even enjoyable since there was ongoing renovation. If you want to take the cable car, it’s 200 THB, and the zipline is 800 THB for maybe 15 seconds of sliding down. It felt like a total tourist trap with the restaurant at the top— I wouldn’t recommend it. We also checked the reviews for Overlap Stone (200 BHT entry) and decided to skip it to avoid another disappointment. Save your time and money, they are better spots to explore.

If you are walking there, do not follow google map into makro food service. Route is wrong Must try the cable car, unique experience. View point in nice

Worth the trip! Lamai Viewpoint offers panoramic views of Koh Samui’s coastline and lush greenery. The THB 200 cable ride to the top adds a touch of adventure, and the scenery that awaits is wonderful . Once at the top, there’s a cozy little café where you can sip on a refreshing drink (I had a strawberry shake topped with cream!) while soaking in the views from a flower-decked terrace. It’s a peaceful spot to relax, take in the sea breeze, and snap some gorgeous photos. Everything felt well-maintained and accessible, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A bit for pricey for what it charges but would recommended for anyone visiting Koh Samui and looking for a scenic escape with a bit of charm!
Azhar K — Google review
Every tourist attraction has its price. That's why I don't understand people complaining about the price here. My girlfriend and I tried the Zipline and had some snacks. The staff was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and smiling. We have never been treated so well in Thailand. Thank you and we wish you many customers.

I walked here from Lamar, it took about 20 minutes. Entrance cost 200 baht including a return cable car ride to the viewpoint. There is a good restaurant at the top with reasonably priced food and drinks. I have to say that all the staff I interacted with were incredibly friendly and helpful. A word of caution however, there are about 50 steps up to the cable car, if you have mobility issues this will be very challenging.

Great place to view lamai. 100B to walk up, not too hard, 200B for cable car, but you still have to walk up a bit to get it. 800B for Zip wire. Views are very good and nice place for a drink.

Overlap Stone, located on Koh Samui, is a popular spot for Instagram-worthy photos. To avoid long queues, it's best to visit early in the day. There is an entrance fee of 50 THB per person and 20 THB for scooter parking. The road leading to the site is steep, so cautious driving is advised. The stunning natural scenery makes it a worthwhile visit despite the small entrance fee and challenging road conditions.
Moderate climb, amazing views. We Parked right by the first location and walked up to the stones . We arrived around 2.30pm and there were a few people around but it wasn’t busy Some areas are under construction looks like they are improving access and view areas .
Tamy F — Google review
READ BEFORE COMING! Probably this is not the place you are looking for. The “hand” is on Overlap Stone 2! Here you can have a nice view, sure, but you must pay 200 baht for the ticket, which is the same price of Overlap Stone 2. The ‘second’ Overlap Stone has much more facilities to visit, including a restaurant. On this Overlap Stone, you pay the 200baht ticket and get a free drink. If I knew this before, I would have gone only to the Overlap Stone 2 :)
Ana T — Google review
Super pretty view point. Get a grab to the bottom of the hill and wait for the car to take you up to the top, if I remember it was 20 Baht once you got the view point. If you get the opportunity sit on the roof of the car do it it’s such a cool experience!
Darci G — Google review
Steep hike to the top, 300baht entry + free soft drink. Great views, but overlap stone 2 is better. Very unethical elephant tourism there too which I only saw on the way down. Two elephants tied up in very small enclosure, this is offered as one of the ticket options, Do not do it.
Laura — Google review
The view is really stunning. Getting there takes some effort, but nothing too complicated. They charge 200bahts only for getting inside and beside the hand and the stone there is a restaurant where you can enjoy the view with some drinks.
Carolina C — Google review
Thailand tourism at its worst. It’s a complete rip off. Dangerous. No care given at all. I stepped on what seemed like a second lookout deck (as it had green chairs on it!). It was actually just a metal roof. Metal gave way on the step and tore into my leg. The maintenance man saw what happened- rushed over to remove the rotted metal step - but left me there - crying! No help at all. Didn’t even acknowledge me… I had to try to get off the platform alone - now no step…hobbling and injured! Check out the photos - one is a lounge deck. One is a metal roof! Can you see the difference? No. - The step has now been removed, due to me standing on it and falling through!! Hmm - which I hope helps avoid further accidents!! For this I paid: 200 baht entry ( thankfully, I avoided the 300 for parking - whaaat!???)…potentially 500 baht !??? - to spend 10 mins in a tourist trap. To see a rock? — The stone itself, yeah, pretty cool, if you can get to it - I could not be bothered to wait in line. Over-priced. Over-rated.
Tessa S — Google review
Very nice viewpoint. We got there by motor, there was enough parking space. The entrance fee was 200bath, including a free drink (cola, fanta, soda, sprite, water). The way up is a nice path with strairs, around 200 meters.
Jesse B — Google review
Not worth it. You must pay 200bahts per person. You get non alcoholic beverage in this price. I must say, the road is nicely build and the view was nice, but you can find that on many free spots. There is nothing else besides the stone. If you want a picture on the “hand” viewpoint, it is higher uphill and they will charge you another 200 baht per person. Tourist trap in my opinion. But some people might like it.

Nestled in Bophut, the Samui Elephant Sanctuary offers a heartwarming experience for animal lovers and travelers alike. This sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing elephants and providing them with a safe haven where they can roam freely without the burden of riding or forced interactions. Inspired by the Save Elephant Foundation, it stands as a beacon of ethical tourism on the island, allowing visitors to engage with these gentle giants through feeding sessions and leisurely walks.
Absolutely an out of the ordinary experience! Van picks you up from your hotel and bring you to the elephant sanctuary and back. We got to feed so many elephants. Lots of opportunities for taking breathtaking photos. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable and we loved hearing all the elephant rescue stories. On the tour you also get to prepare elephant food and feed the elephants the food you make. This was a highlight of our Thailand trip and my life for sure!!!
Erica S — Google review
My Mum and I had an amazing morning at the Sanctuary! Such an important place for elephants in Thailand, a very eye opening experience. I hope more sanctuaries like these can open and these magnificent animals can be treated in the way they deserve. We were picked up from our accommodation and provided with snacks, drinks and a lovely lunch before being dropped off again - all included in the price. We were even provided with insect repellent spray which was very helpful. The staff at the sanctuary are so kind and welcoming, and treat the elephants so well. We helped to prepare food and fed this to the elephants afterwards. The guides give you detail and history of each of the elephants including stories about their personalities! Towards the end of the tour, we were also able to watch the elephants take a short swim and have mud baths afterwards to cool down in the heat! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who visits Samui, there is another sanctuary on the island near Chaweng beach too.
Heather M — Google review
Our visit here was magical. The sanctuary is home to 7 rescued elderly lady elephants and is a truly special place. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable and really want you to get to know the elephants' personalities and backstories. We got to prepare food for them, feed them, watch them splash about in the pool and learn all about their lives. At the end of it all, we also got to enjoy a delicious buffet lunch. We were thrilled to visit such an ethical and heart-warming place and hope they are able to rescue more elephants in the future.
Rory A — Google review
Such a special experience!!! You start by making some food for the elephants, then they lead you on a short loop around the park, meeting the different elephants, learning about their personalities and histories. Finally you have a meal while the elephants eat nearby. I loved the emphasis on helping us get to know each elephant. And they didn't shy away from explaining the horrors that other tourism experiences inflict on animals. This place is doing great work.
Karah S — Google review
They offer 1 hour feeding sessions 4x a day which is why we chose this - with kids it’s so much easier than a 3 hour tour. My 3.5 year old daughter and I made the elephants some biscuits using rice, bananas and other things and then fed them to the elephants. We were close up to 4 friendly elephants and my daughter loved it. Recommend!
Nick H — Google review
Best experience ever! A truly unforgettable and meaningful day, surrounded by these gentle giants. The sanctuary is run with love and respect for the elephants, and you can feel it in every detail. We are so grateful for the opportunity to see them up close in such a natural and caring environment.
A. G — Google review
We loved this three hour tour. It included an introduction to safety and the history of the elephants. We then made elephant food and fed them. Before the guides took us up into the area where the elephants live to feed them more and see them swim. Great tour guides and the elephants seem genuinely cared for with one person dedicated to staying with each one. In total there are 7 elephants to see. We also loved the vegetarian buffet dinner before the driver (included in your ticket) took us back to our hotel.
Shannon G — Google review
Today we had a truly special experience at the Samui Elephant Sanctuary in Bophut. We joined the full-day volunteer program, where you get to help care for the elephants and spend the entire day alongside them. It was absolutely incredible – intense, educational, and deeply moving. For nine hours, we were part of the team: feeding, cleaning, and learning so much about these amazing animals. The seven elephants living there were all rescued from terrible conditions – many were forced to carry tourists or do hard labor. Now they live on a large, peaceful piece of land and are finally able to just be elephants. The entire staff was incredibly kind, warm, and dedicated – you can feel how much they love and respect the animals. It was a truly unique experience that we’ll never forget. If you’re on Koh Samui and want to support ethical animal care, this is a must. A true passion project!

Fisherman's Village Night Market is a vibrant hub of culinary delights and local culture, perfect for those looking to indulge in an authentic experience. As the sun sets, the market comes alive with stalls offering a variety of delicious street food that showcases the region's flavors. From fresh seafood to tantalizing desserts, there's something for every palate. The lively atmosphere is enhanced by local artisans showcasing their crafts, making it not just a place to eat but also to shop and soak in the unique ambiance.
This place is even worth the visit during day time. It's so nice to walk around with all these charming little restaurants, coffee shops and bars. Amazing places with sea view for massage as well worth paying a little bit more for the experience. Looking forward to go this evening and see it all but yeah definitely a must visit spot on Ko Samui.
Krasimira V — Google review
The souvenirs at the night market are a bit of a tourist trap but the food is absolutely top-notch and very affordable. We just wanted to keep eating, everything was so good. Do note that it doesn't run every day so make sure you check in advance to avoid disappointment.

A lively and popular night market with a wide variety of food and souvenir stalls. This market offers a vibrant atmosphere and a great selection of local dishes and souvenirs, making it a pleasant place to explore during an evening on Koh Samui. It is quite popular among visitors, so it can get busy around 6:30 p.m. Those interested in a more traditional Thai street food experience may wish to explore some of the smaller local markets as well. Overall, it’s an enjoyable stop for anyone wanting to experience the island’s lively night market scene.

This continues to be the best night market in Samui. There’s an incredible variety of food stalls offering everything from authentic Thai dishes to international favourites. We’re always drawn to the banana cakes, they’re absolutely delicious and this time we also loved the chicken wraps from the vendor next to the central seating area. Any of the Pad Thai stalls are a safe bet too. We skipped the sushi and cocktails due to past experiences, but plenty of other visitors seemed to be enjoying them. We took some time to sit in the centre and enjoy the beatboxer’s performance, he’s genuinely talented and well worth giving a small tip. After eating, we wandered around the market stalls. There’s something for everyone, and the sellers are generally open to friendly price negotiations, as long as you’re polite. We picked up a bag last night, and the bargaining was done respectfully, leaving both sides happy. If you’re in Samui, this market is a must-visit. Come hungry, enjoy the entertainment, and take your time exploring.

Coffee Island is a charming eatery conveniently situated near the pier. It provided a delightful setting to enjoy a meal after exploring Ko Samui. The restaurant's prices were reasonable, and its cuisine was delectable. The service was warm and attentive, creating a pleasant dining experience. Adjacent to Coffee Island, there was a captivating market, along with various souvenir shops in close proximity. This establishment is highly recommended, showcasing friendly staff and an excellent location.
So many bad comments for such a chill place. We had some pizza and dessert. A little pricey than usual but not a big deal. I am leaving a comment because the waiter boy was so sweet and welcoming. They're all helpful as we wait for our boat

Not the worst not the best. Lots of space for seating and the service was exceptional. I had full breakfast - filled me up and I enjoyed the sausage inclusion. Good to go, medium priced, easy to keep an eye on the ferry.

Stopped here for a quick beer when out for a walk. Beer was ice cold, served in a chilled glass and reasonable priced at 135 baht for a large Chang. Atmosphere hard to judge as it was before 12 and so only me and another table in there. Sure it would be good and noisy later on

We had: Pad Thai, Baked rice with pineapple and cashews, Watermelon shakes They were all very delicious. Highly recommend all. Great service
Courtney G — Google review
We went there to eat in the restaurant located downstairs. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken which turned out to taste nothing like original Pad Thai. It tasted like someone replaced the tamarind and fish sauce with some cheap ketchup. The chicken had some hard pieces in it and was a bit dry. The peanuts were barely chopped and there was no lime juice for the taste. After the meal we ordered ice coffee which was ok. Service was very nice. Summing up - nice place to sit and chill with cold beverage, but eating here should be avoided.

Nice little restaurant near the pier. After spending the day in Ko Samui, it was a nice spot to grab a bite to eat and use the free wifi before heading back to the cruise ship. The food was quite tasty and reasonably priced and the service was friendly and attentive. There's a cool little market right across the street and several souvenir shops just down the block.

Very nice staff, Good Food, very nice location. We had a filling and tasty meal in between three of us. Price slightly on the higher end for non Thai dishes. Good place overall. Definitely recommended. Ps. They even served a local fish dish which was not available on the menu pla kapong pad prik Thai dam. (was as expected, tasty) the server Su was very friendly.

Wonderful fresh family breakfast, great variety to choose from. Pancakes and smoothie bowls chosen by all of us. I loved the sports bowl which was a chocolate protein base and really tasted delicious. Kids polished off the Mama pancakes, which were also gorgeous. Definitely a good breakfast choice along a busy strip.

The brunch menu is really good! Bowls are 10/10 and also the bread with avocado is so good! Before you enter, you have to take off your shoes! Staff is really nice and seating is really comfy and quite good location. The only negative point is that the prices are unfortunately very tourist-oriented and therefore quite high by European standards. Only cash payment, no card!

Delicious smoothie bowls and smoothies, and lovely coffee as well. All the girls who work there were so lovely and accommodating. My only request would be that they chopped the fruit up as it’s hard to eat in this smoothie bowl in larger chunks, but other than that went back several times on my stay around the area and became a favourite

Federico's Italian Restaurant is a must-eat spot on Koh Samui for anyone who loves Italian food. The restaurant is authentic, and the recipes are all real Italian Grandmother recipes. The garlic & chili pesto with almonds was great, but so are the pizza and lasagne. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing night out.
Real true Italian and Romana style pizza! The story of an Italian immigrant that moved to the island is so inspiring. My parents owns a pizza place in the state for 15 years and honestly this was one of not the best Italian food me and my partner ever had! Fantastic pasta wine and dessert all hand made. Owner Federico is the kindest makes you feel like family. Only sad part is we won’t be able to eat his food back in Cali. Federico thank you for your wonderful food hospitality and smiles.

Super cute restaurant. Not too big. The tomato sauce on the pizza is fabulous. Highly recommend getting a pizza. Incredibly engaging true Italian owner. Wonderful wines for pairing. A truly exceptional place with real Italian soul! Federico is a real gem on the culinary map. The flavors are beautifully balanced, and the ingredients are clearly of high quality – you can tell there are no shortcuts here. The staff is very friendly, smiling, and helpful – we felt genuinely welcome. On top of that, the prices are very reasonable, which only confirms that we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended – Federico delivers true Italian quality without the fuss! 🇮🇹🍝🍷

Usually very good pizza. I would love to speak to you, but no number to call. It’s not ok, to deliver 5 absolutely cold pizza for this price! I mean, completly cold one!! Just to mention: it is a five star pizza! Best Ingredients. But if you wanna eat one time a good pizza and got it cold, that makes it very disappointing
S P — Google review
I arrived at the place quite early (12 noon) and ordered a pepperoni pizza. the pizza arrived after a reasonable wait of about 10-15 minutes. The dough was too thin and thus not crispy enough. The creaminess was quite good, the edges of the pizza that were served were thicker than the dough in the center, although they were somewhat burnt, some of the dough felt like it should have stayed in the oven a little longer. Overall, the restaurant is located in a good place not far from the main street in Chaweng, the atmosphere is very pleasant for a family or couple's meal. I recommend trying it.

Samui Elephant Kingdom Sanctuary

4.7
(1021)
Nature preserve
Samui Elephant Kingdom Sanctuary is a renowned place where rescued elephants are well taken care of by the staff. Visitors can expect a comprehensive tour that includes learning about the elephants' history, feeding them, walking around the spacious grounds, bathing with them, and capturing plenty of memorable moments. The half-day morning experience with transportation is recommended for those arriving from cruise ships. The sanctuary houses 16 elephants and offers opportunities to interact closely with these gentle giants.
We wanted to find a truly ethical sanctuary where the elephants' well-being is at the centre of the experience, and this place offers exactly that. The whole experience was wholesome, well-organised, interactive, fun, and educational. The guides speak great English, and everyone's safety was prioritised at all times. The elephants seemed happy and chilled out, and my kids were happy to learn how to feed them and prepare their energy balls, too! The interaction with the elephants up close was the highlight, receiving "kisses and hugs" from these incredible creatures, and seeing their enormity up close! The location itself is well-maintained, and they also offer a buffet of food for after the experience. It was great fun, and we would definitely go back!

This was the most amazing experience. To be able to be so close to these amazing & gentle giants was an incredible experience, one I won’t forget! We made up food balls & fed the elephants these & other treats whilst learning about the sanctuary and how it operates ethically and saving/adopting elephants from other less ethical spots. The elephants only come to you if THEY want to, it’s totally their choice. We were privileged to be hugged by some of them while stroking their trunks to say hello. I can highly recommend to anyone wanting an elephant experience to remember!!

My family and I had the most magical time at Samui Elephant Kingdom! 🐘✨ It was clear how loved and well-cared-for these gentle giants are. Our guide, Sarah (hope I’m spelling that right!), was an absolute gem—so knowledgeable, kind, and clearly passionate about every elephant and their unique personality. The sanctuary itself is beautiful and thoughtfully set up with different stations that make the whole visit feel like an adventure. One of our favorite parts was walking along the sky-high walkway, basket of treats in hand, as the elephants reached up with their trunks for a snack (cutest thing ever!). We also got to make special food balls, hand-feed the elephants, and even give them a little pet and pose for some amazing photos. They’re so calm and majestic—it honestly felt surreal. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better… there’s a coffee shop, a small gift area, and a lunch buffet waiting for you at the end! It was such a heartwarming and unforgettable experience. If you’re visiting the island, don’t miss out on this special place—it’s a memory we’ll cherish forever.

If you're in Koh Samui, this sanctuary is, in my opinion, an absolute must-visit highlight. It sets the standard for ethical elephant encounters. The care for the animals is evident in every detail: from the genuine passion of the staff as they speak about the beautiful giants to the extensive efforts made to ensure their comfort. You will find absolutely no riding, no chains, and no forced interactions here. Why It Earns Five Stars • Meaningful Interaction: The experience focuses purely on respect, allowing you to prepare food and hand-feed the elephants rather than watching staged shows. • Knowledgeable Staff: The guides are incredibly passionate and educational, sharing the unique rescue story and character of each elephant. • Superb Organization: The entire visit runs seamlessly. From prompt hotel transfers to the delicious complimentary vegetarian buffet, the logistics are impeccably managed.
Joachim S — Google review
We did a half-day tour of this Elephant Sanctuary and it was the highlight of our visit to Koh Samui. The sanctuary is expansive and well-maintained. It is ethical in the truest sense of the word as it only allows elephant feeding and petting. Riding and bathing with the elephants is not offered like in some other so-called ethical sanctuaries in the area. Our tour guide offered us interesting insights into the lives and behaviour of these gentle giants, helping us understand and appreciate how emotionally intelligent and social they are. The delicious lunch buffet served as a great ending to a day well-spent. Overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone especially families with kids and we'll definitely be back again on our next trip.
Attir A — Google review
Such a fantastic experience. Lots of love and care goes into this ethical form of tourism, love to see it and would love to see more of it. The guides are great and have lots of knowledge and respect. The food at the end is wonderful, best Pad Thai so far, and they provide water. Toilets are clean and easy to access. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to have an up close, but respectful, experience with the Chang.
Mark C — Google review
Amazing to see the elephants in a safe and relaxed environment after they were bought from lives of logging or entertainment. The guide was very entertaining and explained the different personalities and friendship groups in the herd. Loved the half day tour to be able to feed and get near to the elephants, would highly recommend it.
Rob B — Google review
My visit to Samui Elephant Kingdom Sanctuary was an okay experience. The sanctuary emphasizes ethical treatment of elephants, which I appreciated, as it focuses on rescued elephants living freely without rides or forced performances. The 400-meter skywalk was a nice touch, allowing us to observe the elephants roaming, eating, and playing in a lush, natural environment. Feeding them bananas and preparing nutrient-rich “Powerballs” was interesting, and the staff seemed knowledgeable, sharing details about the elephants’ histories and care.

Thong Krut Pier

Thong Krut Pier is a starting point for tours to Koh Tan and Koh Mudsum, accessible through Naphat Restaurant and Tour. The tour typically lasts 4 hours, including a visit to the beach on Koh Mudsum with an optional resort fee for amenities. Snorkeling at Koh Tan offers views of coral and fish. The area has a decent beach but can be crowded with boats heading to Pig Island. There's also a bar with an entrance fee for facilities.
Great for tours. Just go the small pier and book directly your tour at the small club there. It's much cheaper than tourist office or online and you get your private boat. We paid 2000 baht to the pig island on our own boat.
Pavel R — Google review
We drove to the pier and as soon as we parked a lady from the office walked over and approached us. The price was a bit expensive, so we said no and sell to the coffee shop on the right. Spoke to a few people there and got a deal to Pig Island and fishing just for 2 of us, 2500baht for 4 hr round trip. Enjoyable day, thank you.
Sarinya P — Google review
We paid 1800 Baht for four hours private long boat rental with a boat man. The pier is a little far from where we stayed but we had no issue driving our rental car to get there. There was a free parking space along the main street. As soon as we paid for the boat, they started counting 4 hours already. You may want to be ready to get on the boat when you settle the payment otherwise you'll lose some minutes. It took approximately 10 minutes for the boat man to get out from the pier and it was also part of the 4 hours. At the end, we had enough time to visit both Koh Taeo and Pig island and we liked Pig island much more than Koh Taeo.
Lina A — Google review
There's a nice, quiet beach near here. But usually just for chilling at the beach, but apparently, seen the lack of people swimming, it's not really a great spot to swim.
Jonathan O — Google review
Thong Krut Pier in Lamai is the ultimate launch point for thrilling boat trips. We embarked on an exhilarating 3-island tour, culminating in a visit to the enchanting Pig Island. This is a must-do adventure – the pigs are irresistibly adorable, incredibly friendly, and wonderfully playful. As you approach the pier from the main road, you'll likely encounter offers for boat trips to Pig Island at a hefty price of 4000 BHT. Avoid getting ripped off by politely declining these offers. Instead, head directly to the pier's co-op of boat owners where you can negotiate a fair price, usually no more than 2500 BHT. This adventure promises excitement, stunning scenery, and unforgettable encounters with the delightful pigs. Don’t miss out – ensure you negotiate wisely and prepare for a fabulous time!

Came with a rented car to find a Longtale boat to take us to the Pig Island and koh Tan. It's so much cheaper than taking the tour to the Islands... Found one very easily and he was super nice. Wish I would've remember his name...

If you want to rent a long-tail boat, head over, and they will set you up. Be ready to leave within 5 minutes because these boats will take you on your adventure as soon as you arrive. There are a couple of delicious restaurants surrounding the boat rental. Perfect if you do not want to plan a boat ahead of time.

Nestled along the serene coastline, Wat Phra Chedi Laem So is a captivating golden pagoda that enchants visitors with its intricate details and tranquil ambiance. This picturesque temple offers an inviting open space where locals and travelers alike can unwind, meditate, or enjoy a leisurely picnic by the beach. The surrounding area boasts clean sands and crystal-clear waters, perfect for those looking to escape the hustle of everyday life.
Beautiful location, the Chedi is situated on a platform right on the seafront. So close that the waves sometimes break over the wall. You can see how far the tide comes in from all the seaweed left on the platform. Great views along the coast but also lots of seating in a large tree shaded area. But also don't miss the Priest's camp just a little further down the road where there's an unusual boat shaped chedi

It's quite nice but to be honest there's not a lot to see here. It's right on the seafront though and it's super tranquil. Actually it's a 3 minute drive from the big temple up the hill and that island must see. Quite a nice view from where this temple is and I'm sure there was someone near by selling refreshments so give it a visit if you're in the area

Cheri Laem So Temple is a truly fantastic and historic gem that should be on every traveler’s must-visit list when exploring the island. The temple itself exudes an aura of serenity and tradition, making it a remarkable spot for those seeking cultural enrichment and tranquility. For those who enjoy a laid-back day, the area is well-equipped with picnic spots, making it ideal for a family outing or a quiet solo retreat. Despite its privacy and calmness, convenience is not sacrificed. Nearby, you’ll find a variety of restaurants and hotels to suit your needs.

My favorite place in Taling Ngam I spent many hours every day here They have places to sit, eat lunch, do yoga, swim, breathe... There are bathrooms on site (very clean). This place is so peaceful and beautiful. Surprisingly it's not busy. Far from the tourists The monks give classes and there are events to attend. Be sure to dress appropriately. Highly recommend spending some time here. It will do good for your soul.

Lovely place to relax at the beach near this temple. The pagoda is located right at the beach, which gives this place a peaceful and calm vibe. It's also a great place for taking pictures. There's a lot of place to sit in the shade under the trees, enjoying the nice area behind the beach.

The pagoda is nice and the little park behind it has quite a mystical vibe. No maintenance though and the beach is full of plastic. The ride there is fun with a lot of palm trees.

Fabulous!! Delicious food, great portion sizes, fans everywhere, free pool table, comfy seating, friendly staff Highly recommend the yellow noodle chicken soy stir fry, Thai tea milk, and the fried chicken is spectacular. They could use a few more menus on hand and they only have 2 staff so please be patient as they will get to you. Food comes out so quickly.

I am only speaking for the Thai green curry here, as the starter we had was pretty good.. but I found the Thai green curry to be completely overpowered with Thai basil. I was asked if I liked it spicy, to which I said "yes please!", and yet it was milder than a cream of chicken soup. No signs of green chillies, or lemongrass. The coconut milk was likely coconut water, as it didn't have any creamy texture, was just watery. Just tasted like a Thai basil / aniseed water drink. The eggplant seemed undercooked too, still crunchy. Overall, I was really disappointed.

This was my first time here, and I was really impressed. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the food was incredibly fresh and flavorful—huge compliments to the chef! Located on the west coast of Koh Samui in Talin Ngam, The Island View Restaurant offers a cozy dining experience nestled among coconut trees on the beach. With its thatch and bamboo structure, it provides an amazing view of the beachfront where guests can enjoy delicious Thai cuisine while taking in the picturesque surroundings of sand, coconut trees, and water.
Beautiful restaurant tucked away on a near private beach over looking the islands. Apparently has an amazing sunset view, but we left before so did not experience it unfortunately. We vist this place each time we are in Samui. Nice helpful staff and great chicken noodle soup. Beautiful almost secluded beach with shallow water and white sand. Will return for sure.

The Island View Restaurant in Koh Samui is an absolute gem, offering an unforgettable dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary. From the moment I stepped in, the service was nothing short of exceptional—warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. The staff's attentiveness added a personal touch to the overall atmosphere, making me feel truly appreciated as a guest. The culinary journey at this restaurant was a delight to the taste buds. The food was not only exceptionally fresh but also bursting with flavors that showcased the skill and dedication of the kitchen. Each dish seemed meticulously crafted, leaving a lasting impression on my palate. The cocktail served was a perfect complement, balancing sophistication with a burst of delightful tastes. What sets The Island View Restaurant apart is its breathtaking location. Nestled on the beach, the view is nothing short of paradise. The sight of long-tail boats gently floating on the water and distant islands painted against the horizon creates a postcard-perfect backdrop. The soundtrack of the waves softly rolling in and out adds a soothing rhythm to the entire dining experience, making it a sensory delight. In conclusion, The Island View Restaurant is a must-visit for those seeking a harmonious blend of impeccable service, delectable cuisine, and a stunning beachside setting. It effortlessly captures the essence of Koh Samui's beauty, providing a dining experience that lingers in the memory long after the meal is finished.

Day 4

Proximity is everything
For day 4, we bundled attractions like Samui Aquarium & Tiger Zoo and GUAN YU KOH SAMUI SHRINE and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Zoo
Samui Aquarium & Tiger Zoo is a small but charming zoo and aquarium that offers exciting shows featuring Bengal tigers, leopards, birds, and sea lions. Visitors can enjoy interacting with the animals and take pictures with the tigers and parrots for an additional fee. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere for guests to explore the diverse wildlife on display.
We thought that the place was well maintained, and the animals were well taken care of. The tigers looked clean and healthy. The only concern was with the otters, since they looked like they really wanted to jump out. I’m not sure if that’s normal, since we typically see them swimming happily in other zoos. The staff were very nice! I haven’t spoken to a single rude person in there. Overall, totally worth the visit.
Veronika C — Google review
Blow the reviews go and see for yourself. The best time to go to a Zoo is always in the morning the animals are more active, which keeps the Tiger staff on their toes. The animals are not drugged as claimed in reviews. Tigers and all large Cats are always a lot more placid in the afternoon after they’ve been fed. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, capable and very carful to ensure personal safety. We were surprised at the number and quality of the exhibits. Remember this is a relatively low budget facility unlike Zoos in numerous major cities of the world. The aquarium was a major surprise, terrific exhibition, my personal favourite are the Moray Eels, best I’ve seen anywhere in the World.
Dr. J — Google review
I know, one isn't supposed to go to a zoo or aquarium, as the conditions animal are held in, aren't correct and one shouldn't support locations, which do not meet the needs of the animals. But we so much loved the place, when we were there years ago. I have to admit, I was shocked by the way the great cats are held and wish, I wouldn't have come Don't get me wrong, I am not blaming Samui aquarium & tiger zoo. I am just saying, no animal should be kept in "prison".
Silvio W — Google review
I was very disappointed & disheartened to see many of the animals malnourished. We saw otters that were hollering to get out, the sea turtles had a cage the size of a bathtub, the tigers & other cats had small cages as well, the monkeys were pounding on the cage to get out, & the fish cages were very dirty. I’m disappointed & feel for these beautiful animals. They can take procedures to help & care for these animals properly, but it’s clear they’re solely open for the money.
Anna P — Google review
It was great! The animals are well taken care of. The staff is very helpful and friendly

Wow! They have really upgraded and made this really a nice place to visit. Cages are clean and the animals are well taken care of. Will definitely go again, really enjoyed this experience.

It takes about two hours to get around you can feed the animals as you go around for a small fee and pictures with the tigers if your brave , there are at least three keepers in with you and make you feel at ease and treat the tigers with respect
PETER E — Google review
Was nervous to go after mixed reviews, but as the 1 star mostly didn't have photos I figured was mostly internet warriors who hadn't actually been, and maybe the park was ok? Overall, it's fine. By western standards are the enclosures good? No, not at all. But the animals don't seem stressed and looked healthy, they weren't drugged as some reviews state and if meet and greets raise money for conservation of an endangered animal and funds used responsibly, then i am not against in principle. HOWEVER the cubs were too little to be away from Mum, just 4weeks old! I'd have been much happier seeing them with their mum and only let public visit after they get bigger. This needs to be looked into and steps made to lift the park with the current times and ethics, this seems stuck in time. Other enclosures need revamping, the panther enclosure needed serious updating, no running water and the cat poo swept into the stagnant water, and the poor turtles had 2 in a very small pool. Aquarium waste of space and water murky. Use the land for better care of the cats Attached images to prove we actually went

Guan Yu Shrine on Koh Samui is a significant site dedicated to the Chinese deity Guan Yu, known as the god of war in Chinese mythology. The shrine features an imposing 16-meter high statue of Guan Yu, making it the largest bronze statue of him in Thailand. Visitors can explore this compact yet compelling attraction and enjoy nearby amenities such as parking, food and drink options. Situated near Lamai Beach, the shrine offers picturesque views and a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation.
A beautiful shrine dedicated to Guan Yu, the legendary Chinese warrior known for loyalty, righteousness, and integrity. Free to visit, but donations are welcome. The impressive statues and vibrant cultural details make it a must-visit for history and art lovers. Peaceful and inspiring!

The Guan Yu Shrine on Koh Samui is one of the most spiritual and culturally rich places I have visited on the island. The centerpiece is the enormous statue of Guan Yu, a legendary Chinese general known for loyalty and integrity, and it truly is an impressive sight. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding, and the way the statue stands above the complex makes it feel both powerful and protective. The entire shrine has a calm and respectful atmosphere. You can find smaller altars and shrines dedicated to other deities, along with areas where locals and visitors make offerings. It’s not only a tourist attraction but also an active place of worship, which makes the visit feel authentic and meaningful. Walking around, you’ll notice the traditional Chinese-style architecture, red lanterns, and cultural symbols that add to the spiritual energy of the place. What I appreciated most was how peaceful it felt compared to the busier tourist spots on Samui. It’s a wonderful place to pause, reflect, and connect with the history and traditions of the Chinese-Thai community. If you want to experience something deeper than beaches and nightlife, I highly recommend stopping here. It is a reminder that Koh Samui is not only about natural beauty but also about cultural and spiritual heritage.

Saw lots of locals packing their dinner. You'll find a mix of tourist food like meat skewers, fried chicken and cold drinks. You'll also get some more simple local food. Also some more unusual things like squid innards. Small but interesting and right next to the cruise pier so the perfect stop before boarding the ship.

Really good night food market next to the pier runs every day of the week, it does get busy on Tuesday as it is an extended market. Well worth a visit.

Lovely local food market, we have been there two times and on one day the market was extended down across the next street. The fact that there are almost just locals there shows how good it is. Prices are fair and comparably cheap, not many tourists. Sit down and enjoy the lovely atmosphere with Thai music from speakers and sometimes even live. Tables and chairs are provided. The locals are very kind all around. Definitely worth a visit if you like Thai food!

One of my favorite night markets on Ko Samui. Local prices, no tourist mark-ups like in other parts of the island. Huge selection of different foods!

Nathon Night Food Market. Good selection of choices and variety. Nice massage parlor directly opposite the market. 20 Thai Baht equals for Coffee (0.45 Pound Sterling) 30 Thai Baht for a Cold Coconut (0.67 Pound Sterling) 50 Thai Baht for Pad Thai (1.12 Pound Sterling) Nathon Night Food Market is closeby to Lipa Noi Beach, the best sunset on Koh Samui. 6pm - 7pm Sunsets. Great day at both locations.

The market is relatively small, but full of good bites with a few places to sit down and enjoy the space. Lots of meat, desserts, drinks, and snacks to enjoy for good prices. There isn’t a ton to see but for a snack or fun dinner this place is worth checking out.

Nice friendly small food market. Lots of tasty skewers, sausages, and stir fries at very good prices. I bought 2 large pieces of fried chicken, a bag of rice, 3 sweet bbq chicken skewers and a papaya salad with rice noodles for 150 bhat (£3.00). 7.5/10 would recommend.

Outdoor Activities
Maenam Beach on Ko Samui is a laid-back, several kilometers long stretch of coastline lined with palm trees, rental bungalows, and restaurants. It faces north into the Gulf of Thailand from the island's north-central coast and offers deeper waters for adult swimmers compared to other beaches on the island. This beach provides a peaceful and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families with children looking to swim and sunbathe in shallow waters.
Perfect beach, stayed here during a crazy storm but it was still really beautiful to take walks along and watch the sunset on 🌴✨️☀️🙌 Really a lot more quiet then other beaches too which is so nice!

I loved this beach area from day one because of its beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. The only downside is the noise from water scooters when they’re running close to the shore—it can get a bit loud at times. Even so, it’s still a quiet and relaxing place to unwind. Plus, you can see the nearby islands from the beach, which makes the view even more special!

I wanted to grab a meal during my tour and the Thai cuisine at Mum Thong restaurant impressed me. They offer the spice on the side, allowing you to control its level. If you're not into curry, their spring rolls make for a perfect appetizer. The prices are affordable, and they serve generous portions of food. The menu has a wide variety of options including dishes like sandwiches, pizza, and pasta at reasonable prices.
Best crab meat fried rice we have ever had in Thailand. We finished it and we ordered another one instantly! The waitress is very helpful! I love the food there and we wanted to go back another time but it was too far away from where we live. Hope can visit it again!

As a vegetarian i dont want to eat eggs. Places like this restaurant are happy to make food as you like just be clear and make sure the chef is clear. I ordered fried rice with extra garlic, curry powder and tofu with veges. Pineapple and mango smoothy. 150 baht and a very happy me. Thanks. Its also directly up the road from the ferry terminal approx 150m. Interesting road intersection for a coffee

We ate lunch here in March 2025. This place is very popular with the cruise ship crowd. It is one block from the pier. There is a wide assortment of entries to choose from but we stuck to the classics of Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. Both were prepared with fresh crisp vegetables and the curry had tender chicken. The spice level on the pad Thai was mild but the curry was spicy. I like very spicy food and I found it quite enjoyable but my wife said it was too spicy for her. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. The venue is partly inside and part outside and the noice level was acceptable.

We found this place randomly on our way to the pier and it turned out the best meal I had in Koh Samui (and we had so many great ones!). The coconut was bigger than my head, fresh, sweet and juicy. The food was so delicious, fresh, tasty. The best. Truly. Look no further

Explorar Koh Samui - Adults-Only Resort (16+)

Resort hotel
Discover the luxurious SENSIMAR resort, a serene adult-only retreat in Koh Samui. The resort offers modern accommodations with thoughtful amenities such as an infinity pool and stunning gulf views. Guests can enjoy free activities like yoga and cocktail workshops, along with excellent service and comfortable rooms and villas. Located on Mae Nam Beach, the hotel boasts a peaceful beachfront setting, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation.
I stayed at Hotel Explorer Samui for three weeks while working remotely, and it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. The hotel is just a few steps from the beach, and the views are incredible — the water is clean and swimmable, and the whole area feels calm and beautiful. It’s an adults-only hotel, so the atmosphere is very peaceful. The guests are mostly friendly, quiet couples, not noisy groups or parties, which made it perfect for relaxing and focusing on work. I had the Deluxe Sea View Suite, which was spacious, comfortable, and ideal for working — especially with the amazing ocean view. The staff were absolutely exceptional. JJ, Tikki, and Kate were some of the nicest and most helpful people I’ve met — they helped me with everything, from bringing a computer chair to my room, to arranging late checkout, giving me a long-stay discount, and assisting with anything I needed, always with warmth and a smile. The breakfast was great, with lots of options and several types of coffee to choose from. The restaurant food was really good too, and I ended up eating there quite often. They also have a massage spa — it’s a bit on the expensive side compared to other places on the island, but the quality was outstanding. I did two massages there and they were among the best I’ve had in Thailand — definitely worth doing at least once. I tried to give the staff tips several times, but they kindly refused and only asked me to leave a review — so here it is 🙂. If you’re looking for a quiet, beachfront place with amazing service and a peaceful atmosphere, this is the perfect spot. Thank you again to JJ, Tikki, Kate, and the whole team for making me feel so welcome! 🙏

I highly recommend Explorar Koh Samui! The room we stayed in with a private pool was so perfect! From the cleanliness, the quality of the mattress and the beddings, the free bar to the toiletries and the surprise welcome greetings on our bed for our anniversary was really a rate of a 5-Star for me! The breakfast buffet was sooo good and luxurious! My wife and I love their coffee and pastries! The pizza and pasta are excellent! I also enjoyed their mocktails! And most of all, the staff are so warm, always smiling, very attentive and so nice and caring! Special mention to JJ and Benz of the front desk, Som and Rain of the Odyssey, the bartenders are all great!

The hotel staff are so friendly and attentive. It really is the small touches that make your stay here so special from lunchtime shots delivered by boat when laying by the pool to conversations with the staff during meal times. During your stay there are several free experiences you can sign up to. My friend and I attended the Rum Tasting hosted by Joey and it was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about the local rums on offer during the tasting and the cocktails made were smooth and delicious. This was definitely a highlight of the trip. Thank Joey and the rest of the amazing staff at Explorar for a fantastic stay.

This hotel is absolutely amazing for a vacation!! everything is spotless and feels brand new, the staff is incredibly friendly, always smiling and willing to help with anything. I stayed in room 308, a villa with a private pool, and the room was simply stunning. All areas of the hotel are welcoming, there are plenty of activities and shuttle services, and the food at the restaurant is delicious. I especially want to mention Kate, a hotel staff member who is truly exceptional :) so helpful, kind, and genuinely goes above and beyond to make your stay special. She played a big part in making our experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a perfect, peaceful, high-standard couples getaway this is the place for you.

We recently stayed at Explorar in Koh Samui for 7 nights. It was our second time visiting and once again it completely exceeded all of our expectations. From start to finish, all the small details were perfect. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the facilities were modern and beautifully maintained and the entire resort had such a luxurious, relaxing vibe. The restaurant has so many diverse options from Thai to international cuisine. The bar tender crew and the best and I highly recommend a frozen mango margarita! It was the perfect place to unwind for the week, peaceful, stunning and so well run! We genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing, it is a 5 star experience in every way.

Staying at the Explorar Hotel Koh Samui was an amazing experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the room was spotless, bright, and beautifully designed with plenty of natural light. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, and every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. We were warmly welcomed with refreshing coconut water upon arrival. The hotel also offers a great co-working space, perfect for those who want to work remotely while enjoying a vacation. I also recommend to book the hotel trom their website instead of booking from because direct booking offer additional services like free charter services from and to the airport and additional discount on foods and spa. Overall, our stay far exceeded expectations — highly recommended!

Nice quiet adults-only hotel. Simple, but stylish, light and spacious rooms. Very good restaurant with amazing breakfast. Good swimming pool, a wide selection of daily complimentary activities. Nice beach, good for swimming even on rainy days. Free shuttle bus to nearby Fishermen village. Amazing stuff. One of those places you always want to come back to.

I just had an incredible tasting with Joey from Explorar and Harry, who assisted him — and I can honestly say it was one of the highlights of my time in Samui. I tried their natural sugarcane spirit and Samui natural sugarcane spirit, and both were absolutely fantastic — smooth, full of character, and truly reflective of the island’s craft spirit scene. Beyond the amazing drinks, the service was exceptional — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Joey took the time to explain the process and share the story behind the spirits, which made the whole experience even more special. If you’re in Koh Samui and appreciate fine local craftsmanship, you must stop by Explorar for a tasting. It’s a perfect blend of quality, authenticity, and island hospitality.

Bottle Beach

Beach
Bottle Beach, located in the north of Koh Phangan, is a hidden gem and a paradise for travelers seeking seclusion. Accessible only by taxi boat from Chaloklum, jeep, or a challenging 2-hour hike, this small and secluded beach offers pristine white sands, crystal-clear turquoise waters, towering palm trees, and lush jungle surroundings. While it's one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, reaching it can be quite challenging but adds to its allure.
How to go — you have 2 options start from parking areas. You definitely can’t go down there with motorbike yourself. It’s very steeped and the road with small rocks will make your bike slippery 1. Taxi — around 200thb one way. 2. Walking — take around 10-15mins to walk. Going there was fine but going back feels like hiking. The beach is good. Nice and calm. Not big wave. Not a lot options with restaurants
Yotsakorn C — Google review
Don’t drive it by yourself! Just park your scooter before the 4WD Road is starting or even before the sign. You have to have serious off road experiences. Just don’t risk it and better take a 100 baht 4WD Car down. It’s driving all the time up and down. We walked down around 30 minutes and payed 100 baht pp to get up. If you walk down you have to have study shoes. It’s really slippery (the pictures are just showing the end of the track - so the good part haha). I can’t imagine how it must be on rainy days :D Nice clean beach surrounded by some bungalows and beautiful palm trees. Sea was clear but very shallow around midday. No entrance fee or anything. Some sunbeds available (it seems like if you‘ve ordered something you could use them). Toilets are also available.

Bottle Beach was alright. Not the best, not the worst. The beach itself was relatively quiet and scenic, but getting there was a bit of a hassle. The road leading to it is steep, rocky, and not ideal for motorbikes. I actually had to park mine quite a bit farther up the trail because the path down felt too dangerous. If you’re up for a bit of a trek and don’t mind the rough access, it might be worth the visit, but definitely not the most accessible beach on the island.
Fachri J — Google review
A beautiful, quiet, and relaxing restaurants and beach.
This is such a lovely spot where you can spend the day swimming and enjoying food and drinks from the restaurants nearby. You can have a great lunch or dinner here. The beach is very clean, with soft sand and breathtaking views. It is located between two forest-covered mountains, which makes it even more stunning. One thing to keep in mind is accessibility. We were staying on the southern side of the island (the opposite side), so we rented a car to get here, while others came by motorbike. The last part of the road isn’t easy unless you have a 4-wheel drive, but luckily there are 4-wheel drive taxis available (about 100 THB per person). The ride itself feels like a little adventure. I also saw some people arriving by boat. All in all, I highly recommend visiting this area!
Eskeatnaf M — Google review
We took a taxi boat to Bottle Beach from Ko Phangan — the ride took about 20 minutes. It cost 600 baht per person for a round trip because we didn’t want to wait for more passengers (who knows how long that would’ve taken?). It might have been cheaper with a full boat, but at least we didn’t waste time. The beach itself is beautiful, and there’s a restaurant, but unfortunately, there’s not much shade — definitely something to prepare for. The water is clear, but full of rocks, so I highly recommend wearing water shoes. We went in wearing them, but sadly, that still didn’t save me from getting hurt… While swimming, I stepped down once and got stung by a sea urchin. It was painful, even through the shoe, and removing the broken-off spine from my foot was really difficult and unpleasant. On my way out of the water, I saw two more large sea urchins among the rocks. You really have to be careful — I didn’t see any warning signs about them anywhere, which is quite concerning. After that, I didn’t feel like swimming anymore and just sat near the shore. All in all: it’s a beautiful beach with a great atmosphere, but you have to be very careful in the water. Water shoes are not just recommended — they’re basically essential. I strongly advise everyone to be cautious so you don’t end up like me — or worse. A little awareness can save you a lot of trouble.

Beautiful and secluded beach, perfect for relaxing and swimming. Only accessible by 4x4 taxi or boat taxi. (We paid 300 Baht per person for the round trip by boat) The beach is very wide with plenty of shade under palm trees. We had a great day here and it’s definitely a must-see on the island.

The view is astonishing and you should definitely check it out at least once. Everything else is just meh. Food is average, prices are not as high as you might expect. I visited this place twice and at first they forgot about my order so I had to remind them after 20+ minutes. Next time I got my order fast, but I asked to make it spicy and it wasn't spicy at all. The pool is old, tired and dirty and they charge 50 baht for it but I wouldn't go there even for free. I would totally recommend going to this place in the evening to watch the sunset and drink fresh coconut, but that's all you should do there probably. Be careful on the road as it is steep especially at the end.

A must visit if you’re in Koh Phangan! Route - I think it’s a new place and getting up the mountain for us was interesting but one of the most memorable evenings I’ve had here in Koh Phangan! Food - limited options (all vegan) but every dish they serve is a work of art and filled with flavours. My husband and I tried 4 dishes and a desert and every dish was unique! New Delhi Aranchini was the best. Ambience - you can get lost into relaxation by just looking at any corner as it gives you a nice panoramic view of the island towards the west. Best for sunset views.

I recently completed my Open Water and Advanced Open Water courses at Sail Rock Divers, and it was absolutely incredible. Pete, my instructor, is exceptional - honestly one of the best teachers I've ever worked with in any field. The pool sessions were perfectly structured and iterative, allowing me to make remarkable progress in a short time. During the open water part, I felt completely safe and well-cared for throughout every dive. Pete's teaching style gave me confidence while ensuring I learned proper techniques. As if the excellent instruction wasn't enough, I was lucky to encounter a whale shark during my first open water dives - an unforgettable bonus to an already amazing experience! The entire Sail Rock Divers team made me feel genuinely welcomed from day one. The atmosphere is warm and professional, creating the perfect learning environment. This was truly a life-changing experience. I'll definitely be returning for more courses and diving adventures. Highly recommend Sail Rock Divers to anyone looking to learn or advance their diving skills!

Awesome first time experience. Staff is super helpful. Instructor K was most optimistic and super friendly, his instructions were crystal clear. We enjoyed the diving very much. Costed around 4100baht per person for the beginners course. Included few hours training in the pool with instructor K and our first dive next day early in the morning in the open waters, by the Rock. We got loads of breakfast and lunch on the boat as well as orange juice with electrolytes. Staff was helpful all the way. If I'd do it again - it would definately be with these guys 🥰

I have been visiting Sail Rock Divers on and off over the past 13 years, for good reason. The standard of training and safety is top notch and the dive instructors are without doubt some of the best I have ever dived with. I am thrilled to sea on this trip (Jul 2025) how the marine life has exploded at the Rock. Gigantic schools of trevalies, enormous groupers, loads of batfish to name but a few. You can guess why I keep coming back...

Khun Si Waterfall is a hidden gem located near the Khun Si viewpoint over Chaweng Beach in Koh Samui. It offers a serene and less crowded environment, especially in the mornings, making it an ideal spot for visitors seeking tranquility. Nestled amidst dense jungle, this smaller waterfall provides a refreshing stop for travelers before they explore other nearby attractions. Accessible without requiring extensive hiking or walking, it's a great place to unwind and take a leisurely swim in its inviting waters.
Khun Si Waterfall is an absolute hidden gem in Samui, offering a peaceful escape into nature. The best and easiest way to get there is by searching Mr. Dee Chilling Hill Bar on Google Maps—just park there and enjoy a short, scenic 10-minute hike to the waterfall. The trail is easy to follow and takes you through lush greenery, making the journey just as enjoyable as the destination. Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the serene beauty of the waterfall, perfect for cooling off and taking in the natural surroundings. But what truly makes the experience unforgettable is stopping by Mr. Dee Chilling Hill Bar before or after your hike. The food is absolutely amazing—the best we’ve had in Thailand—and the relaxed atmosphere, surrounded by beautiful gardens and great views, makes it the perfect place to unwind. Whether you're looking for an adventure or a chill spot to hang out, visiting Khun Si Waterfall via Mr. Dee’s Bar is the way to go. Highly recommended!

Beautiful waterfall however is very busy and you have to pay for parking before you enter if you arrive by wheels . Could barley get close due to so many people , would recommend going early or a bit later in the evening to avoid crowds

Nice waterfall, however you can actually see much better places in Koh Samui. The pathway to the waterfall is quite steep and it takes some effort to get there, back it is even more difficult to go uphill. There are signs to prevent going close to better views, because some people died there (very slippery surface).

It is beautiful scenery and fun to go especially the stairs but dangerous road too many cracks, puddles, dusty and really steep. If go wrong you reach big farms which dogs are on side the road unleash and attack your scooter like what happened too me luckily locals from 2ed water fall helped me. I prefer adventure in phuket much safer road much more developed.
Payam D — Google review
The waterfall is a trickle this time Of the year. There was one pool that had neck deep water. The water was nice and cool for the hot weather. The hike is steep but short. Decent amount of parking. 2-4 hrs experience.
Sourabh M — Google review
Do NOT follow Google Maps to that location ! This will bring you to a difficult road with aggressive street dogs at the end. The entrance of the waterfall is actually at the "Khun Si View point" location, where you can park your motorbike and then walk for 10 mins. Entrance is free but giving to the person selling drinks when you come back is a good gesture: it's their private property. Trekking shoes recommended. Few small spots to swim. No one when I came on a Sunday. When you arrive, you can climb the waterfall on your left for a better spot to swim. On your way back there is a restaurant "Chilling Hill" that is beautifully surrounded by the nature and have nice food for a good price!

Make sure you take good shoes as can be quite slippy but this is a perfect way to spend the day. Enjoy the climb right to the top and enjoy the many waterfalls along the way. Make sure you pack a towel, snacks, and a book so you can stay at the top and take in all the natural beauty.

This place was a little hard to find as there are no clear directions once you get to the end of the road and the closed coffee shop. Best direction for is to walk down the hill behind the structure. You find the trail and sign dowm there. The trail splits and i went left directly to waterfall.

Tesco Lotus

Hypermarket
Supermarket
Tesco Lotus is a well-organized and fully-stocked supermarket located in the Chaweng area, offering a wide range of products from groceries to clothing, smartphones, and bicycles. Despite being smaller in size compared to its counterpart in Chaweng, it is still preferred by many. Visitors note that it appears larger on the inside than it seems from the outside. It's a convenient spot for purchasing various grocery items.
Best supermarket in Koh Samui. You'll find plenty of diversity and choices at half a price.

If you're hungry, you can't decide what to eat. Lotus is an easy solution. They have almost all things available in the store from food stalls to clothing brands all under one roof. It's an amazing place

Your typical Lotus go. It's a little bit bigger on the inside than it looks.

Bistro
"The Road Less Travelled Cafe Bar" is a must-visit spot for food enthusiasts. The menu offers a wide variety of local, fresh, and healthy options including vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free choices. From avocado toast to Buddha bowls and salads, the cafe has it all. Additionally, they serve delicious coffee and smoothies at affordable prices. The ambiance is artsy with indoor and outdoor seating, making it perfect for reading or working while enjoying great food and drinks.
This place is chic, I love it. I love the lots of little details in the decoration. It looks like a classic hotel but sounds like a club. The food is a little more expensive, but the portions aren't like in houte cuisine. To be honest, the biggest breakfast I had for a while. The food was also impressive. They had no problem switching out my carbs for sweet potatoes, as this was on their menu already, and I wanted to try them. The staff is very skilled and alert. Maybe they just had a strong coffee.

A hidden gem in Samui! The decor is beautiful, and the service is honestly the best we’ve experienced on the island. The staff were incredibly attentive—even asked about our milk preference without us saying a word (we’re lactose intolerant). Loved the matcha with peanut butter infusion, and the latte was excellent. They brought warm bread when I asked about a bread basket (not sure if it’s even on the menu!). We shared a prawn cocktail, and they thoughtfully served it in separate cups. The chicken burger with pesto was a brilliant twist. Highly recommended!

What a gem on this island. Everything we tried was perfect in taste, presentation, right amount spices, quality ingredients, cooking time, combinations. Friendly owner and staff. Music in the background on right amount of volume. Staff well trained well-mannered and polite. Cool deco. Must try chicken spaghetti with thai spices and dark chocolate with orange is to die for.

Don't be afraid of a long trip to this restaurant - you won't regret it) Everything that we ordered was perfect to taste, beautiful serving, large portions, cozy beautiful atmosphere, delicious coffee and those chocolates - this is just the magic of taste and happiness😍😍😍I recommend this place and will definitely come back again🤩🤩🤩Special thanks to the attentive owner, who created such a friendly atmosphere and food for body and soul🤩🤩🤩

What a delightful place to visit. From walking inside, you quickly recognise that this place isn't the typical Koh Samui restaurant/bistro. However, please don't be put off thinking that you're not getting the actual, authentic experience, as their food is exquisite and offers a variety of dishes to cater to all tastes. Thai food is heavily influenced, yet it also caters to diners who may not be that adventurous. The venue has a great hipster-type vibe with relaxing background music. The staff are very attentive, and this place is a must-visit, offering surprisingly competitive prices for the vibe. 1400, for two healthy portioned meals, two Chang beers, and two well-made cocktails. Well done, Road Less Travelled team. We'll be back with friends next island hop.

Super chill cafe with great food and amazing smoothies/juices options. Owner had 2 cat hostess 😝 working there and greeting customers. It’s a vibe ❤️

Very warm staff, and tasty food (we got the bean burger, salad-falafel wrap, pho and a couple of matcha based drinks). Stopped by after getting off the ship from the pier. Great decision to do so.

RLT is one of the best on Koh Samui. Peter and Pat who own the cafe are both great guys, and very welcoming. The cafe itself is very stylishly decorated and has a lovely relaxed vibe. The food menu is wide ranging and offers a good mix of Thai and international dishes. The portion sizes are great and the food tastes good. Coffee and cake is also excellent at RLT. The carrot cake and 'magic bar' made by Pat are amazing, I keep going back for more. Highly reccomend. Keep up the good work guys.

Restaurant
Nestled on a tropical island, The Masons Arms offers an authentic English pub experience that will transport you straight to the heart of England—minus the dreary weather! This spacious venue features air conditioning, an inviting upstairs terrace, and a delightful beer garden perfect for families. With a full menu boasting hearty pub classics like lasagna, fish and chips, and their standout Bacon Cheese & Mushroom Burger, there's something for everyone.
Amazing place. A taste of home. Full English breakfast and roast beef dinner were great. Haven't found them anywhere else in Asia. The owner is great too. Very nice man with lots of helpful information about the island. Definitely visit here.

The pies (320 THB) are excellent! We liked also the welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff. You have plenty of draft beers, local ones and also British ones. Pool and dart is available... We have met the owner, he is a great guy and we hope this place will remain for a long time- we will definitely come back for the pies! 😊

Brilliant Christmas dinner. Proper British food. Plenty of tables to sit the whole family. Food came out of the kitchen quickly. Prices are what make this place better. As soon as you walk out front you feel like you're in England. Massive 5 stars for this restaurant!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon for roast dinner and it did not disappoint. Portion was good and the food tasted lovely. The pub feels very authentic to English style.

A beautiful Irish pub in Koh Phangan. They've been on the island for a while. Nice staff and good food. Beers on tap, including Guinness and Leo. You can also get proper pub food like roast dinner and bangers and mash.
Laurie G — Google review
If you are British or a fan of British pubs then this is a must-see/eat on Phangan. It is surreal how authentic it feels when sat inside with its carpeted floors and dark wooden decor. The menu has a wide selection of classic pub dishes all at reasonable prices. There's a DIY English breakfast which I would recommend as you can get exactly what you want from your full English. Inside there is a darts board and pool table too. The owner, Stephen, is very welcoming and charming and will happily chat to you about the pub's history and life on Phangan.

Love the Mason Arms! I’ll go for a Sunday lunch and/or a few rounds of pool whenever I’m on the island. Decent white wine at 150baht a glass doesn’t hurt!

Spot on. Can't go wrong. Great roast dinner, the best I've found in Thailand outside of BKK and even competes with my favourites in Bangkok. Gf went for fish cake and chips and it was also very good (impressive for her to say that as she usually doesn't like British food 😅) Drinks and good and laid back place. Owner was a good guy. The most English pub I've found overall in Thailand which is nice. Cash only (but ATM just outside). Will make sure to return a few more times whilst we are in phangan.

Cafe
Café K.O.B Bophut, established in 2017, has quickly become a beloved bakery and café in the area. Known for its delectable chocolate croissants and an extensive breakfast and lunch menu featuring both Western and Thai cuisine, it has garnered a loyal following. Visitors particularly rave about the tuna melt sandwich.
This charming alternative café is only a short 10-minute walk from Fisherman’s Village and definitely worth the visit! They offer a wonderful selection of both traditional Thai and Western dishes, catering to all tastes. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very reasonably priced. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly service made it a highlight of our stay in Ko Samui. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Nice place with amazing bread (first of all). Great Turkish eggs with Greek yogurt and toasted sourdough bread - totally not sweet, that is very important for me. My friend was excited about Club sandwich - half is enough for one lady or a kid, so good to share. Or take away as an alternative option. Staff is polite and very friendly. Good music and space as well. Free parking for the guests ☝🏾

Nice place to have a coffee. Coffee had a nice complexity and strength. The cafe has an industrial feel and is eclectically decorated. The air conditioning is appreciated and a good respite from the heat. Service is fine, but perhaps a little preoccupied with chatting with friends as opposed to getting orders (which was our experience when we went there)
Ho W — Google review
A great place for a breakfast. The coffee is excellent! I didn't really like the lentil soup here, as the Thai spices didn't seem to go well with it. But the salmon Benedict was very good.
Irina M — Google review
I came here multiple times whilst in Koh Samui, love the atmosphere of this place, you can also buy things like preserves and bread to take home with you from their shop. Food was great, I think my favourite was the club sandwich as the bacon had an amazing chargrilled flavour to it. Coffee and London Fog were great, I would avoid the dirty Chai latte though as that wasn’t so good
Ashlei N — Google review
I would’ve gived 5 stars to service it is a 9.9/10 coffee shop the only thing is that after 5 times of coming back to back leaving tips and ordering a lot, when I spilled my coffee on me you didn’t offer to remake one or anything which could’ve been a great customer service act but other than that the food is INCREDIBLE simple yet delicious and I tried half the menu no joke I loved everything my fav are the salmon sandwiche and the coffee cube latte!!

Lovely cafe near your Villa. Had breagfast there and bought fresh bread and pasteries from their little shop. They can cut the bread for you if you don't have bread knive. That was really nice. ☺️ Everything was very tasty.

I had a great experience at this place! The breakfast menu is fantastic, and the food is delicious. I wasn’t disappointed at all. However, a small tip: this place is quite popular, so if you go around 11 AM, be prepared to wait for a table. Overall, highly recommend it 🤗🌟
