Surrey Hills National Landscape is a designated natural area known for its stunning views and extensive network of trails suitable for walking, running, cycling, and horseback riding. In addition to outdoor activities, visitors can explore the impressive collection of vehicles at Brooklands Museum or enjoy llama trekking in the beautiful surroundings. For those seeking accommodation, Barnett Hill offers contemporary boutique rooms and suites amidst the picturesque Surrey Hills.
Amazing place to visit with family. We enjoyed lot. Keep a stick with you if you are planning to do trekking towards stepping stone. You can bring some food as well with you as there will be big queue at food stall.

The trail offers breathtaking views of the nature, unique opportunity to connect with nature, breathe fresh air, and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. The sun shone brilliantly, The area is surrounded by scenery of outstanding natural beauty. The whole landscape was bathed in a warm, inviting glow, a scene that felt both serene and awe-inspiring. It really helps us to reconnect with ourself taking time out from mundane things we do keep the life moving.

Box Hill in Surrey is a beautiful place to visit, especially if you enjoy nature, walking, and stunning views. The panoramic scenery from the top is breathtaking, and on a clear day, you can see far across the Surrey Hills. The area has well-marked walking trails, from gentle family-friendly paths to more challenging hikes through the woodland. The woodland itself is peaceful and full of wildlife, making it a lovely escape from busy city life. There are picnic areas where you can relax, and it’s also dog-friendly, so great if you want to bring your pet along. The Old Fort adds a bit of history to the visit, and the National Trust café nearby is handy for snacks or a warm drink after a walk. Parking is available, and the site is managed by the National Trust, so it feels safe and well looked after. Overall, Box Hill is a fantastic spot for fresh air, exercise, and enjoying the beauty of the English countryside.

Watched the eclipse from the Surrey Hills. Parking on hogs back (A31) in the layby. Beautiful walk in fields of long wavy grass.

Beautiful areas and plenty to see and explore. Bare in mind which area you go to as some places aren't suitable for wheelchair/walking aid users. Rangers are never too far off either so areas are safe and well maintained. I'd also recommend having a phone with WiFi so you can use a map to navigate places if you want to explore less populated areas.

This is one the best national parks I've been to in England it is so peaceful and calm the view from here is fantastic you can see the city and the small village from the hill it is also fun because you can roll down the hill or go for a picnic. It's a national park you can also have a small hike there if you want l. There is a small river there too and you can have a walk there too so much wildlife full of nature I hundred percent recommend everyone going there if you do enjoy.

Dorking Halls is a versatile entertainment venue that offers a mix of live performances, cinema screenings, and conferences. The facility includes a theatre and digital cinema featuring popular movies and live broadcasts. Additionally, it hosts various events such as stand-up comedy, live music, and children's shows. Visitors can also enjoy the on-site cafe and two bars. On Fridays, St Martins Walk comes alive with a traditional market showcasing local produce including meat, cheese, confectionery, fruits, and vegetables.
Was volunteering at the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival which was being hosted at Dorking Hall. Super event at a super venue. Car park was a little busy, so give yourself plenty of time if attending an event there. It was well staffed and well run.

So lucky to have Dorking Halls. Great venue showing all latest films at a reasonable price. The yearly membership is really worth getting. Been twice in recent weeks to see different comedians - both shows were excellent. Love the variety of shows DH offer. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Bar good too. Can’t comment on food as haven’t eaten there. Overall though great venue

Wonderful historic home of Rudyard Kipling and very knowledgeable friendly staff. Smaller estate than sim Trusts but lovely to walk around. Groundsman do a lovely job of keeping it like the family home it was, very simple planting. Tea rooms are dog friendly but beware of the pesky wasps in the back garden!

Had a great time here watching our school concert. Comfortable seats and good view of stage from wherever you sit really. Parking just outside, albeit a bit busy at times, and venue is easy to get to and find (well signposted).

Excellent venue. Good service at bar even at a busy show. Seating was adequate and comfortable. Sound was excellent. The carpark next door can get full, so don't rely on being able to find a spot on a busy evening!

Denbies Wine Estate is a unique destination offering quirky farmhouse B&B accommodations with en suite bathrooms, surrounded by a sprawling vineyard and two restaurants. Despite the challenging climate for grape cultivation in the UK, Denbies manages to produce remarkable wines that have garnered international acclaim. The estate's expansive 265-acre vineyard provides stunning photo opportunities reminiscent of picturesque landscapes abroad.
Lovely lunch and train ride around the Vineyard. Glass of sparkling wine optional. Worth booking lunch early as the last Vineyard tour stops at 3pm. Great view over the North Downs and Boxhill. The Gallery restaurant gets quite warm and busy. There's also a ground floor Brassiere and garden restaurant/ hotel. Hidden gem in the Surrey countryside. Recommended 👌🏽

Vineyard size: England’s largest, with approximately 265 acres of vines—about 10% of plantings in the UK . • Annual visitors: Around 300,000 guests enjoy tours, tastings, and on-site amenities . • Visitor Centre: Includes a working winery tour, 360° cinema, wine cellars, lecture space, two restaurants (Garden Conservatory & Gallery), and a well-stocked wine and gift shop
Malik S — Google review
Set against rolling hills, this estate offers a charming blend of nature and refinement. The tours are informative, with knowledgeable guides who bring the vineyards to life. Wines are varied and enjoyable, though a few lack the depth of finer European rivals. Dining is pleasant with scenic views. Overall, a rewarding experience that balances education and leisure, deserving a confident four stars.
Enoch O — Google review
We visited Denbies before heading to Polesdon Lacey. Having visited a few years previously, we had already taken the vineyard tour, and visited the farm shop, but there was still plenty to see. We had a great time checking out the sculptures ( I loved the family sculptures), the well stocked gift shop and the Conservatory cafe. I was able to stock up on my Rosé Wine. There is plenty of parking
Debbie M — Google review
Enjoyed the tea and train tour at the wine estate. Afternoon tea was delicious (both savoury and sweet, and there was plenty to go around). Would have liked a bit more instruction / organisation from the team about what the experience entailed. The hotel restaurant team were not prepared to receive us after the tour finished so there was a bit of waiting around which interrupted the momentum of what was otherwise a fab day. The wine was great too!
Josh W — Google review
Considering this is a working vineyard it's great that there is open access for walkers and you are able to take in the stunning views and get up close to the grapes! Has a spacious gift shop and as a relief to older walkers the toilets are free to use!
John D — Google review
I booked this for my sisters 30th birthday and we can't recommend it enough. From check in to check out, everyone was so lovely. We stayed on a Sunday & we booked the train with sparking wine and the ladies who hosted it were AMAZING - Ruth in particular was incredible. They were knowledgeable and fun. We then had indoor tasting with Jeremy who made it - you can tell he is passionate about his job and we had a great friendly and chatty group. From there we headed to The Hatch and watched Luke Edney - who was a live singer and doing country covers and for a huge country fan, this was UNREAL! He had everyone up dancing and singing and the atmosphere was lovely, it was like being on holiday! We then checked in - stayed in room 10 on the ground floor and we were welcomed with a glass of fizz on arrival. The room was gorgeous and spacious and opposite the entrance to the main bar and restaurant. We spent the rest of the evening chatting to the team and guests. Shout out to Carson - it was his last shift which was a real shame as he had so much personality. The next morning we had breakfast - which was the only disappointment, you could tell the team were stressed, orders were coming out wrong around us, there was a delay and I think we were in there for about 45 mins and to be honest, I didn't end up eating it as it was a little bland, nothing to write home about. We then headed to the farm shop followed by walk around the vineyard. Overall, I would highly recommend!

We walked the Denbies North Downs Way and Dorking 3.2 mile route today. Plenty of free parking and a lovely walk around the estate, with great views of the vineyard and nearby Dorking. The guide says an hour, but that's very optimistic, so allow for at least 90 mins. Recommended.

Farm
Sights & Landmarks
Bocketts Farm Park, located just outside of Leatherhead, is a working family farm that offers a fun day out for all ages. Visitors can enjoy feeding animals, tractor and pony rides, pig racing, and play areas with trampolines. The farm is home to baby animals like lambs, piglets, and chicks which can be visited during animal holding sessions. Additionally, there are indoor soft play barns and outdoor adventure trails for kids to explore.
My son and niece absolutely loved the place as did the adults. There was plenty to see and do and all the animals looked well cared for. The play areas were clean as were the toilets. The gift shop was reasonably priced had gifts from 25p upwards. The highlight of day for me was the pony rides. My son wanted to do it, but was very anxious. There was a lady called Abbey taking the money who instantly put him at ease and promised to walk round with him. When it was his turn she was so patient, calm and reassuring with him. She helped him on the pony JJ and with another Abbey they walked him round. By the time he had finished he was laughing and had thoroughly enjoyed it. So thank you Abbey! I would definitely return for another day trip.

Nice place to spend day with kids. Lot of Animals and Activities. Kids really enjoyed. Price is bit high but if you spend whole day its good deal. They have shops where you can get Coffee tea snacks and drink. Only few thing : First one staff could do more to engage public looked like they leave them to explore them self and everyone is walking around clueless. Second toilet is not maintained properly. Third one is had to pay extra for ride and things inside. I think it would be better if it was all included pay. In general its good place to visit with kids they can see farm and learn a lot of new things.
A T — Google review
Wonderful farm experience! Great educational posters and infographics, lots of opportunities to interact with animals up close, tons of very creative and exciting play areas for kids both outdoors and indoors. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming and we had a lovely lunch.

No Dad on the adventure today but the girls of the family paid a visit to Bocketts Farm with friends. There is plenty to see and do at the farm and most activities are included. However be prepared to pay a little extra for the tractor or pony rides. The girls enjoyed feeding the animals and exploring the outside playgrounds. One is aimed at the younger children and one at older children. The pig racing is always a highlight at the farm and the girls loved cheering on their coloured pig - a few more flags would have been handy as there were not many to go around. As with all places of this nature, the shop is a dangerous place for children and has to be passed through to leave!! My two came home with a new cuddly lop eared bunny and a cuddly sausage dog on a lead to add to their vast collections... In fairness they are quite cute. @familydadventures

Great place for a family day out with your little ones!! They have various activities for all the family including feeding the animals, pig race, tractor rides etc. Kids have many play areas to choose from including indoor and outdoor areas. Good washroom facilities and baby changing areas, cafes and dining areas for all the family to enjoy the day!!

I visited this farm with my 4.5 year old son and we had lovely day out! The tickets are quite pricey, it was about £45 for both of us but it was worth it. Bear in mind that some activities like tractor rides of riding a ponny are not included in the price. There are lots of activities for kids of different ages. We enjoyed seeing and feeding all the animals. My son really liked the playground, trampoline and the tractor rides. This weekend Bluey was on the site and my son was excited to take picture with him. I recommend to come early, we arrived before 10.00 and parking was pretty full. There are few places to eat, we enjoyed the pizza. We will definitely be back one day :)
Gosia L — Google review
Fantastic place for the kids. Huge park area and animal areas as well as petting sessions for them (and the adults!) too. There are places to eat which are a tad pricey but lovely food. They even make their own pizzas! Will definitely be returning again soon, especially for the pig races!

First time we have been today but wish I had known about this sooner. Only found it as was looking for something in between where my grandchildren live and I do. It’s a great farm with so much to do. Lots that is inside if the weather turns bad and lots of things that are differentiated for younger/older children. You can buy animal food for £1.50 a bag. There are tractor and pony rides that cost extra but we didn’t do this as the grandchildren were having so much fun with everything else. Will definitely come back again we all had a great day.

Hiking Trails
Box Hill, located in Tadworth, is a renowned summit along the North Downs ridgeline in Surrey. It offers sweeping views and walking trails, making it a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can also enjoy amenities such as a cafe, gift shop, and parking at the hill's peak. The area is known for its far-reaching vistas over ancient woodland and chalk downland, making it an ideal spot for nature walks and scenic exploration.
Went hiking with my friends. Got the route from strava with a restaurant on the way. Grab some beers and it's a moderate hike from the bottom. You can even grab some wine from denbies and continue your walk up to the top. Its one of the most beautiful hikes in surrey.

It was a wonderful biking trip from Purley to Box Hill on a ebike. At 68 years of age I could cycle 50 KMS and explore British Countryside. Worth the effort.

I love this place as it's 30 minute drive for me. A good place to enjoy nature, trails and good food options within 5 minutes walk. Plenty of parking available, and kids can enjoy the place as they have Children specific Trails too with few nature activities that my child enjoys! Definitely one of my favourite place in the UK.

Great views, National Trust car park saves a hike up the hill (cost is free for National Trust members, prices on attached photos for non-members); follow the NT sign up the zig zag Road. We did the stepping stone walk on a warm but mercifully not sunny day in August. It was doable in comfy trainers although it did involve a very steep descent down the steps from the car park to the stepping stones and then we followed the path along the river (although you can't actually see the river) back to the village where the zig zag road starts going up the hill. The path back up the hill starts just to the left of the hotel on the roundabout and is very steep, so you need to be fully mobile and relatively fit to get up there. It looked very slippery for those coming down that way as it was just a gravel path on a steep hill, not steps like going down to the stepping stones. We did the whole walk slowly with a 4 year old who definitely needed carrying for the steepest parts and with a few stops to catch out breath and have a snack it took us approx 2 hours. It was a nice walk but we didn't realise how steep the slopes would be and wished we had taken more water!
Jim K — Google review
Beautiful place for some serious incline hiking, or just a gentle walk depending on what route you take. Perfect for training for a big climb/hike up a mountain, also nice for a dog walk with some really great views! Definitely bring plenty of water with you and ideally some hiking poles if you’re a bit unfit or need that extra support if you’re doing the longer, hilly routes as it is VERY steep in places! A cafe is situated at the car park but it’s very expensive. There’s also toilets there and usually an ice cream van in the car park in sunny weather (again, extortionate prices (£5.50 for a small whippy ice cream) but it’s there if you want it! :) There’s free water fountains there though which is handy for refilling your bottle. Parking is around £10 for the day, or free for disabled badge holders and national trust members. Overall, great place!
Life0ffthegrid — Google review
A beautiful and peaceful hike! I had a great time at Box Hill! The scenery on the drive up was beautiful, and the 20-30 minute hike to the top was definitely worth it. It was so peaceful and the views were stunning. The only minor issue was parking. We ended up having to use the private car park in front of the hotel, which cost £4.95 for 2 hours. Just something to be aware of if you're planning a visit! Despite that, it was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend it for a peaceful walk with amazing views.
SYED G — Google review
Great place for a day out with family or friends. Walking shoes are recommended. Be prepared for a moderate difficulty, lots of steps parts ( on the way from The Stepping Stones up to Box Hill we accounted 278) . Beautiful views from every side. At the top is a parking, if you are a National Trust member is free if not you have to pay. Coffee shop is cosy, with lots of choices of food and drinks, helpful and kind staff, toilets available. Highly recommended.

Chifan is a charming eatery that has quickly become a beloved spot for those who appreciate authentic Chinese cuisine. With its inviting atmosphere, it offers both an all-you-can-eat menu and an extensive à la carte selection, ensuring there's something for everyone. Diners rave about the Hot and Sour Soup, which has garnered quite the following among locals. Whether you're popping in before a show at the nearby theatre or celebrating a special occasion with family, Chifan welcomes guests warmly—even without reservations!
Food was delicious and served quickly. Staff super friendly. A la carte and buffet options. They happily tweaked my dishes due to dietary requirements.

We were delighted to be invited for a special family birthday lunch at Chifan in July. Wow! What a fabulous meal and time we had. Starting with champagne we enjoyed the most delicious starters of perfectly cooked fresh squid, pork and vegetable rolls and marinated chicken wings before moving on to Chinese duck pancakes. The pancakes were lightly steamed and the duck perfectly prepared and served. Our main courses were fragrantly spiced tender lamb with vegetables; steamed pea shoots, duck breast meat with crispy skin ( which had the most gorgeous flavours); green beans with minced pork and small cubes of sweet and sour pork with shaped vegetables. Everything served to us by the lovely Jessica was utterly delicious. Who looked after us all so beautifully. It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten such a deliciously fresh and authentic Cantonese meal where the spices and flavours had been especially selected with care. Huge thanks to my cousin and his lovely wife for inviting us to join them for this outstanding Chinese feast. Well worth the 4 hour drive to Dorking from north Devon. We will be looking for any small excuse to revisit soon!

Birthday meal at the all you can eat. Waitress was so helpful and friendly. Starters were larger portions than we expected, great value for the money. Ordered the mains carefully, came out quickly, hot and good quality, full of flavour. Waitess surprised us at the end with a lemon cake and candle. A birthday meal made special by food and waitress. Thank you 🤩

We had the all you can eat at £26 a head. Waitress and food service was very quick but when I asked how the all you eat work she slightly rude and dismissive telling me it should be easy to understand. Rude… Staters were not great at all, flat small prawn toast, Ribs just fat, prawn crackers old. Some of the mains had tasty sauce but just not the best quality of meat, we send back the lamb in black pepper sauce as so chewy and felt like they chose to give you the worst bits of meat for the all you can eat customer, all she could say rudely was “well it’s our most popular dish no one complains” obviously it’s popular its normally one of my favourite too but it was still terrible !!! . I never write reviews but had to on this one,

"The Stepping Stones" is a charming village pub with a cozy atmosphere, featuring stripped wooden floors and skylights. It offers a gastropub menu and serves real ales. Visitors have praised the cleanliness, exceptional customer service, and friendly ambiance of the pub. The staff are attentive hosts who go above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome. Patrons have enjoyed the delicious food, including options like hot minestrone soup and flavorful Steak and Ale Pie.
Walked in on a random Wednesday morning as two clueless tourists looking for breakfast around the hills. We were the first and only customers. Served by the lovely owner herself (I assume that was who she was?) - had great coffee and Eggs Benedict while husband had the traditional breakfast. Were greeted also by the two sweet cats from next door (who had breakfast with us❤️). A warm and cozy start to the day. Thank you

Sorrel Restaurant is a cozy and inviting dining spot that offers refined British cuisine and an extensive selection of wines. The warm ambiance, complemented by timber hues and white tablecloths, sets the stage for a delightful culinary experience. Renowned chef Steve Drake, with an impressive background in prestigious European kitchens, brings his expertise to Sorrel. Having earned his first Michelin star at Drakes on the Pond in Abinger Hammer, Drake continues to elevate the culinary scene with his dedication to excellence.
Went to Sorrel on my birthday and the experience and food were exquisite. The balance and pairing of flavours were bang on point. I had the Discovery tasting menu with the wine pairing. Fabulous choice of wines with the dishes. The opening snacks are exceptional. The jammy dodger was a delight as was the beef croquette. The salt baked beetroot was divine with the creamy cheese and toasted sesame seeds singing in the background. The pork belly with raspberry and coffee was inspired. The venison dish with the ox tongue with the marrow was a savoury knockout! The cheese dish which is supplementary is worth it! Apricot gel, amaretti biscuit, roscoff onion and a creamy like Brie was sensational. The Waldorf dessert was a splendid and delightful twist. Finishing with a creamy and dreamy dessert with chocolate, pistachio and olive oil. Love the dining room. If you are tall like me, be mindful of your space, especially the toilets. The music, well the chef clearly grew in the same era as me with some nostalgic choices from the early Britpop era. Added to such a relaxing and laid back atmosphere. Antonio who served us for the evening was knowledgeable and a joy to speak with as was the sommelier. Loved his enthusiasm for the wine. Thank you for having us and giving me a wonderful birthday experience. Totally worth a special trip for. 👍🏻 in the words of Arnie, “I’ll be back!”

Our first visit to Sorrel, the venue is a lovely 17th century building where the original character has been retained in a tasteful manner, setting a great ambiance to enjoy your meal. We were welcomed by Antonio, the front of house who came across as a very pleasant, professional and helpful chap who demonstrated his knowledge of the courses throughout the meal. Like the other staff he was attentive without being overbearing and was easy to engage in general conversation. The food was absolutely divine, I understand that the owner Steve has now taken a back seat and handed over to new Executive Chef Alex Payne and after enjoying this meal I feel sure that Steve can feel confident that Sorrel is in safe hands. The courses were presented by a combination of the chefs and waiting staff who clearly take pride in imparting their knowledge of each dish upon the customers. Each course was thoroughly enjoyed by both of us, presentation of all the dishes was a work of art well deserving of pictures in an art gallery. A particular highlight was the scallop course where the sauce perfectly complimented the scallop together with the tiny mushrooms and various form of caviar creating an explosion of flavour and different textures in your mouth, simply heaven in the mouth! The first course was a lobster tart, again absolutely delicious followed by “Jammy Dodgers” but made from something very different and tasting nothing like you’d expect so playing games with your mind. The bread course was another highlight, with wonderful flavours and so soft bread melting in your mouth. The turbot was cooked perfectly with a very smooth rich sauce and cauliflower mouse to accompany it. The desserts were a great way to finish the meal, the “Knights of Windsor” strawberry dessert was accompanied by very light lemon sorbet which freshened the palate. The following chocolate dessert was presented picture perfect and incredibly smooth in the mouth. The last course ended with “Deja View” a fitting end to a wonderful meal. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience that we look forward to revisiting again, highly recommended.

A great place for a special occasion - lovely food, wonderful service and a great atmosphere. We especially loved the scallop, pork belly, venison, oh and the beef snack (pic 4)! My only small feedback is the portion sizes were very small (and we have eaten at a lot of Michelin restaurants), but it's sort of to be expected (I will never understand why though!), and the courses came a bit faster than we wanted. Listing bread as one of the courses also didn't seem quite right. But overall a great experience and we would recommend it for a special occasion.

We had a truly wonderful evening of food wine and indulging in new tasting experiences! Having ordered the discovery menu which consists of a variety of small tasting plates , you think you we’ll never be full , but believe me you are very content with the amount of food you have consumed ! Poppy our waitress was spot on , explaining every dish with great excitement that gave you the feeling of wanting to eat it !! Francesca the sommelier was of great help encouraging you to try different wines with out being too over bearing, that can sometimes be the case ! She is definitely worth listening to ! It was never going to be cheap but worth every penny !! I also appreciated the fact that service was not added to my bill giving me the option to pay what I felt was reasonable ! ! Thank you for making our evening special !!

First time visit, from the moment we walked in it was amazing. The new head chef Alex has created a menu which was superb - I hadnt looked beforehand so I wasnt sure what to expect and it didnt disappoint. Some of the dishes I have never had before so it was exciting experiencing them, we also did the matching wine list and that was also outstanding. The location, setting and staff are amazing. We will be back

Simply outstanding! The tasting menu was fantastic, set in a wonderful ambience. The food was superb, and we thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary lunch. The service was equally lovely. We will gladly return and have already recommended it to friends. Our favorites today were the pork belly, the brill, which was expertly prepared, and the pressed shoulder from the lamb dish, a true standout. Thank you!
Markus S — Google review
The service was amazing, the people were knowledgeable, friendly and just made you feel amazingly welcome. Food was excellent, my favourite was the lamb and the fruity dessert. Wine tasting also went brilliantly with the food as you would hope, my favourite was the last wine which was a dessert wine.. which given I don't have a sweet tooth but my top picks include desserts and dessert wines tells you a lot. They also took note that it was our anniversary and a few little extra touches was just amazing Would recommend, great food and service that makes you feel welcome and looked after like a star..

Pub
The King William IV, affectionately known as King Bill on the Hill, is a charming ivy-covered pub offering stunning panoramic valley views from its paved terrace. Situated alongside a footpath leading up towards Box Hill, this unpretentious pub provides high-quality fresh food served by a friendly team. The establishment proudly supports independent breweries and offers up to 5 changing cask beers, including local brews served from a temperature-controlled cellar room.
Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. A lovely pub nestled on the hillside of Mickleham with view of the Surrey hills. I’ve lived in the UK for almost a year and the best pub food I’ve experienced was here. We had a delicious roast chicken, the vegan roast was incredible, as well as the vegan cheesecake. Would very highly recommend.
Breanne F — Google review
Really lovely pub on one of the trails around Box Hill. The roast was delicious, the chicken was cooked particularly well! I normally prefer the sides, but their meat was very good. The service was friendly and efficient, although the food took a while to come out. This is highlighted on their menu, as they cook everything from scratch. The gardens are gorgeous - it's a super wonderful place to stop and eat/drink on the nice day.

We had a lovely Easter at The King William IV pub. The Sunday roast was divine, especially the slow-cooked lamb shoulder and the deep-fried calamari – both were outstanding. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by hills, cows, and horses, and the nearby playground was perfect for our little one. The pub has a charming, historic feel with a relaxed atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the focus on quality over quantity really shows. Highly recommended!

Had a lovely meal. So impressed with the dairy free options. Rarely happens that I can have something from a lovely menu without having to ask for it to be adapted due to allergy. The vegan cheesecake was amazing. Lovely views and friendly staff. Thank you!

I have been to Box Hill hiking several times already. I have to say that King William is a nice place to have lunch. However, if you are not vegan, don’t try the vegetarian dish; go for the meat. Their meat is way much better than the Vegetarian dish.

We stopped here in the middle of a 12km walk with our 2 dogs. We did not have a reservation and it was a bank holiday but we managed to get a table despite it being very busy. The service was fantastic and extremely nice from the start to the end - and very accommodating for our dogs. there were plenty other dogs there. The food was very tasty and portion size was just right. Prices were slightly high but that’s to be expected in this area.

Had a lovely lunch at The King William IV, nice spot with views over Surrey Hills. Great staff as moved from Sun to inside to Sun and finally under cover due to typical English Weather. I had lamb shoulder roast, crispy potatoes, very nice Chicken supreme and Fish Tacos. Reasonable prices, we will be back, thank you

Leith Hill is a stunning tourist attraction located in Surrey Hills, boasting an 18th-century Gothic tower surrounded by woodlands and self-guided walking trails. As the highest point of all the walks in Surrey Hills, it provides awe-inspiring views of up to 14 counties on clear days, including the London skyline. It is an ideal spot for hiking enthusiasts seeking a break from work worries while enjoying nature's beauty with chirping birds and humbling sceneries.
Shadow and I had such a lovely day out at Leith Hill today! 🐾🌳 It’s one of those places that just has something special about it. Shadow was absolutely in his element—darting around, leaping onto logs, and having the time of his life. Watching him enjoy himself so much always makes my heart happy. ❤️ As for me, I got to sit back, relax, and take in the most gorgeous views. There’s nothing quite like a bit of fresh air and beautiful scenery to recharge the soul. Oh, and the food! I treated myself to a homemade sausage roll and a cup of coffee, and let me tell you, they were both absolutely delightful. The perfect little pick-me-up! If you’re ever looking for a place to escape to for some fresh air and fun—whether you’re solo or with your furry friends—I can’t recommend Leith Hill enough. Shadow and I are already looking forward to our next visit! 🐕☕️🍂

Been here a few times, love this place. The walks are beautiful and there are quite a few paths to take. Scenery is unmatched for this part of Surrey and would thoroughly recommend it. Great for walking your dog as well. The walk from the car park to the tower is about 20 minutes but well worth it.

Stunning views are afforded here and once you've made the ascent to the top of the hill, you're rewarded with spectacular views as far as London! The Tower has a Café for refreshments and seating areas to take in the views. All in all, a hike you shan't forget in a hurry.

Leith Hill, located in Surrey, is a picturesque hillside area known for its enchanting woodlands, meadows, and diverse wildlife. As the highest point in south-east England, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The 18th-century tower atop the hill provides an opportunity to marvel at the stunning vistas that stretch all the way to London in the north and the English Channel in the south on clear days.
Leith Hill is wonderful location for a short to medium length hike. As a natural trust location it’s really well maintained and kept clean. The hill itself provides great views across the downs and plenty of footpaths and mountain bike trails. Great for an afternoon amble. For those wanting to take it to the next level, you can also pay to go up the tower. Worth a visit 👍

There's a choice of car parks , smallish ones, depending how physically able you are to climb through the woods to summit and tower. Tower is only open at weekends and BH's. Views are brilliant from summit and even better from top of Tower. I went in brilliant sunshine. Small cafe hatch , seating is benches outside. No toilets.

The Capel Military Show provided a unique and enjoyable Sunday afternoon, filled with fascinating vehicles and knowledgeable exhibitors. The Scouts' excellent carpark management deserves applause for their dedication. The highlight of the event was undoubtedly the Red Arrows display. Anticipation for next year's show is already building. This captivating experience offered a valuable history lesson without succumbing to excessive health and safety regulations that often plague similar events.
We come to Capel every year as a group and have watched the event grow and grow. The team always put on a great show with a decent variety of displays, whatever the weather. Highly recommended for military enthusiasts and families alike.

It's not a bad little show. Seems to be less WWll tanks running. Each year that l go of recent times. No German tanks ( replicas of course). & No half tracks. It's probably me missing, to big 'War & Pease' show. This year was a bit mad, the way they directed the cars into the park area. Very time consuming, than other years. One big plus though. Met the man himself 'Combat Dealers' Bruce Crompton. Absolutely lovely man. We had a good chat, for 10 mins. Got a pic of us. Which l'll treasure. Thought he might be, a bit cagey. But no, he was very approachable. Made my day.

Came across this gem of a shop on route to Chessington after my car broke down. Ended up pulling into their car park and wandering in to ask if we could stay there until RAC came to rescue us! Lovely couple running the store, both so welcoming & helpful. Let us use the toilet and made us feel at ease. Browsed the shop whilst we were there & saw so many unusual and beautiful things. Will be returning at some point once I’ve measured up at home to see if can fit the music stave table & chairs in my lounge!! Bury Hill Fisheries is a favored fishing destination that offers easy accessibility for individuals with limited mobility. Its peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained surroundings make it an ideal spot to relax and fish. Notable catches, such as 12 and 15lb carp, have been reported. The fishery's wildlife also provides entertainment. While the old lake may be closing to day ticket users, there are other lakes worth visiting on the grounds.
This is my favourite place to go fishing. I always go to bond lake as it it easily accessible for me. I am disabled and have very limited mobility so it is great to be able to drive up to the swim, set up and then my wife park the car. It is very peaceful there and the area is well maintained. I have caught some really nice carp there, with a 12 and 15lb out on my last session. The wildlife are really entertaining as well ;-) I would definitely recommend this fishery.

Terrible customer service and given incorrect information regarding returning a unused, unopened face cream. Was basically told they don’t offer refunds on any beauty products! I asked for their Custoner Service telephone number which they reluctantly gave me and unsurprisingly when I tried ringing it, was incorrect. I returned to the store and asked for the correct number. Both sales assistants struggled to find the number for some reason. I gave up and left. Following day I went to Epsom where the staff, customer service and knowledge was completely different. Obviously , I returned the item without a problem needless to say …..

This is a delightful and charming local Marks and Spencer store, a small branch but just right for the rural market town of Dorking, located in St Martin's Walk right in the heart of Dorking with clothing a food hall and plenty of parking to the rear with a pay and display car park.

Always the best supermarket, providing good quality of products with both affordable/ expensive price range.

Visited this morning. The food area is a bit small, but the staff were pleasant, doing their work and there was actually someone on a till. A marked and pleasant contrast to the Reigate store.

Friendly, helpful staff I swapped a jumper for a smaller size no problem. Clothes great quality. Also purchased some food Saturday and the young man on the till was very friendly and professional. He had a very rude customer served before myself and he handled it extremely well ,remained professional the whole time. A credit to the store.

Nestled in the heart of Dorking, Burgundy & Black is a delightful café that perfectly blends relaxation with family-friendly fun. With a cozy atmosphere, it features a soft play area where kids can unleash their energy while parents enjoy a steaming cup of coffee. The café offers an extensive menu, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or lunch. Guests rave about the generous portions and delicious offerings—like the all-day breakfast and scrumptious bacon sandwiches—that keep them coming back for more.
Amazing. I took my daughter here last Sunday for breakfast. The place was really busy but they found us a table and the lady that looked after us was really friendly and welcoming. My daughter had the all day breakfast and it was an amazing generously portioned amount of food. I had the bacon sandwich which was one of the best I've had. Can't rate the staff, restaurant and the food highly enough. We will certainly go back again. Thank you

Popped in for a quick lunch with our reluctant 4 year old. The member of staff was so obliging. He suggested we could go upstairs to the soft play which worked really well. He amended the kids’ menu to accommodate. The food was hot, tasty and very quick. I’d heartily recommend- and big shout out to the man who served us (possibly the manager.. if not, he should be!!!)

The service provided by a staff member was excellent; she was friendly, helpful, and contributed to a pleasant stay during the summer, coinciding with VE Day celebrations. The tuna and cheese sandwich was delicious. Good for family and friends for a nice, simple cup of Joe or a nice meal for lunch.

Very friendly service and amazing food! The loaded fries and Aloo Tikka Chaat were next level, would recommend! And for only £5 on weekdays for our meals, it was such a steal - Thank you so much :)

Me and my friend had an occasion to try some food here. Must say people working there were really nice and helpful. We order quiet a lot of food, dished were served quiet quickly, All the starters were delicious, mains piping hot, the only down hill was a lamb curry which I would of expect to taste bit difrent. But other than that I would recommend this place to everyone.

A Family-Friendly Spot with Flavorful Fare Tikka Nation offers a great option for a quick, family-friendly meal. The diverse menu, including unique street food options, caters to a wide range of tastes. The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. We enjoyed a delicious meal, with highlights being the butter chicken curry, chicken tikka loaded fries, and chaat platter. The chaat platter was particularly impressive, featuring a combination of flavorful dishes like samosas, chickpeas, and puri-based treats. Our daughter's chicken tikka nan wrap also looked appetizing. While the parathas decent, the naan breads were a bit disappointing, being flatter than expected, the overall meal was tasty and reasonably priced. I would rate this restaurant 4 stars.

Very enjoyable evening with food that was full of surprises. The decor is more cafe style and menu towards street food. The food was top quality, full of flavour, meat very tender. The menu items include a lot of twists on some original Indian classics. A nice choice of beers including a local Dorking Brewery XPA. Our daughter is gluten free and the waiter had perfect advice on which dishes were safe to eat. He was very knowledgable on dietary requirements.

Greeted by very friendly and helpful staff who talked us through the menu and gave their recommendations. Once you've sat down and decided what you'd like to eat you go up to the till to order your food and drinks and then they bring it to your table. The service was very prompt with the food arriving nice and quickly. The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back for more. They have a nice selection of local beers and some wine if you prefer that.

I had really fantastic experience there ! The place was spotlessly clean, which immediately made a great impression. Situated on the A24 Horsham Road in Mid Holmwood Dorking, this welcoming and well presented Indian restaurant offers take out and dining in with on site parking. With fantastic service and extremely friendly staff along with quality food and good portion sizes, our visit here was very pleasant. The beer was cold (Kingfisher), the port was strong, the wine was a decent pour and the setting was just right for our group of 7. Accommodating our visit was much appreciated and we'll definitely be coming back again when we're next in the area!!!

The Plough Inn is a charming 17th-century country pub featuring an on-site microbrewery and cozy, bright rooms with complimentary WiFi. The inn boasts a picket-fenced paved garden with ample seating, offering a perfect setting for enjoying a sunset meal. Their kitchen serves delicious home-cooked food made from locally sourced ingredients, including game from Leith Hill and fresh produce from the pub's own vegetable garden. The pub has implemented new measures to ensure social distancing as it reopens.
A wonderful, classic pub in a beautiful location. There is a great range of beers including their own brewed lager. The food was tasty and reasonably priced. I have to give a big shout out to the guy who took our orders at the table (didn't get his name, young guy who just got a German Shepherd!) who was incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommended.

Fish in the fish and chips were amazing. It had crispy batter that wasn't too oily and the fish was very tender and tasted fresh. Mushy peas were nicely seasoned with a hint of butter. The chips could've been crispier though. I recommend the plough inn lager, beautifully crisp and refreshing beer

Genuinely avoid as worst experience I’ve ever had. I honestly don’t know where to start with how bad this place was. I booked my room months in advance, rang a week before to double-check, and again the day before the stay. Each time, staff weren't particularly helpful and I was promised a confirmation email that never arrived each time, even though they had my details on their system. When I arrived, it was chaotic. My booking took ages to find, got confused between different bookings and when showed to a room (which wasn’t ready, fine as it was before 3pm), but then told me there was only one key for the room. The staff members “solution” was for me to leave my bag in the unmade room, then leave the only key either in the door or in a drawer in the corridor, because apparently the door couldn’t be locked at the time. Seemed ridiculous but I went along with it because I had a wedding to get to and my bag just had some overnight clothes in it. Long story short, when I came back at midnight, the door was locked and there were no staff around and no one answering the phone, so I ended up having to sleep in my car outside the pub. The only thing you really want from a hotel in the middle of nowhere is a reliable, secure room you can come back to. That’s the bare minimum and they failed on it in the worst possible way. To make matters worse, when I called the next morning the customer service was appalling. Rather than trying to understand what had happened, the man on the phone was dismissive and condescending after such a dreadful experience says everything. I’ve travelled plenty and stayed in all sorts of places, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve had this year so had to make a comment. Disorganised, unsafe and with staff who clearly don’t care (or maybe I just had the worst one). Book literally anywhere else. Dreadful place. Marked up 1 star as the local beer was decent.

Came for Sunday lunch to celebrate our anniversary! Roast beef was £23 which is expensive but it was really really incredible. Probably best beef I’ve had on a roast and everything was really tasty (except maybe the broccoli was a bit underdone/an afterthought). Sticky toffee pudding at £9 is again steep but was really very very good. However, I think to pay these prices without complaint the service needs to be improved. It was pretty all over the place. It took a while to be seated. We had reserved a table for two but were shown to an unreserved table for four. The drinks and mains (delicious) came quickly but then no one ever asked if we wanted a dessert, which was a shame as my partner was super excited for it! So I had to go retrieve a menu myself and then only ages later were we finally asked. Then when the dessert came I was told there was only one dessert spoon so I’d have to use a soup spoon! 😂 Also I used the toilets as we left and they were horrible but there were only 15 people or so in the pub so should really be checked more regularly! I’ve waitressed a lot through uni so I know how difficult it can be. However, it really wasn’t a particularly busy service. I think maybe if zones/table organisation are implemented then things wouldn’t be so easily forgotten about. Ultimately, food was absolutely delicious, best roast I’ve had in ages BUT I think if you expect people to pay £70+ for two roasts, one dessert and some soft drinks you really have to improve the service!
DaniHeath1999 — Google review
Turned up for a booking and our table was not ready for about 20 minutes and food service was particularly slow. Normally this wouldn’t bother me that much, as they were clearly busy. However, later I went to the bar and was acknowledged by barman while waiting and as I was about to give my order he interrupt me and proceeded to serve another male customer who had just arrived. This felt particularly rude, so much so that the customer actually apologised to me. Also no tampon bins in the ladies loos!

We stumbled on this beautiful pub and decided to stop for lunch. A great range of beers (a number of which are brewed onsite) and a tempting menu. Food was delicious and the staff were lovely.
Sam P — Google review
It was a horrible night. When I said I had a dinner reservation at 19:30, they told me that because it's Sunday, meals end at 16:00, and they told me to order delivery from Justeat without even apologizing. As a result, I had to wait 2 hours for a cold burger while hungry. I really hate this kind of trouble. Since they knew it was Sunday when I made the reservation, sending a misleading email like 'we booked your table' is the worst kind of service. Why can't they do the simple job of just replying 'Sorry, we don't serve meals on Sunday evenings'? If they had told me immediately when I made the reservation, I could have cancelled and avoided getting caught up in this trouble. Do they think I'm making a fuss over nothing? If so, then the lowest rating is what they deserve. The Plough Inn ruined my trip. The room is cold, there's little hot water in the shower and it's lukewarm. The wifi keeps cutting out too. Seriously, they gave me the worst service.

National Trust - Denbies Hillside offers an easy and picturesque walk along the chalky hillside, providing memorable views of the Mole Gap and Dorking. The route takes you through the National Trust site, offering a mix of woodland and farmland that is well managed. There are various routes to choose from depending on your desired difficulty level. The area can get busy in certain spots, but as you venture further out, you'll find peace and serenity.
Absolutely beautiful place. Box hill is one of my favourite destinations to get away from daily life and switch off. The whole area of Debbie's is gorgeous. Lovely people. I will definitely recommend it and it is worth visiting. Besides, there is a place to have some food, all food is made there. I would recommend trying their cakes. Farm with local products, shop on hand made soaps, diffusers etc.

National Trust Denbies Hill in Surrey has some stunning views and some lovely walks along way marked paths through woodland and open countryside. There is a fairly large car park which is chargeable unless your a National Trust member. There are no facilities on site although there was a little wagon there selling various drinks, it was closing as I arrived at around 3pm. There is a grassed area near the car park where you could picnic although there are no tables. The path through the woods is quite wide, sadly too bumpy for wheelchairs even motorised ones, it's peaceful as it's away from any major roadways. There are paths going down the hill to the valleys below,on this occasion I chose to stay on the woodland path. From the top of the hill you can see the town of Dorking and the spire of St.Martins church and in front of you the tower at the top of Leith Hill ( see photos ) Dogs are welcome and it's very safe for them, there is a railway line at the bottom of the hill, I believe there are unmanned crossings over the line so care needs to be taken there, approaching trains were sounding their horns, there only appeared to be a couple of trains per hour. The Surrey hills have some lovely places to walk and offer some stunning views over many miles of countryside. Other places include Leith Hill,Box Hill and Reigate Hill. All of those sites have parking.

Absolutely love this area for hiking - in all seasons and weather. We usually park up at Denbies Wine Estate and go from there. The mix of woodland and farmland is varied and well managed and there are many routes to choose from depending on the difficulty level you're after. Pay and display car park (free to NT members) stunning views but the bird life I was seeking was quietly hiding away. Lots of dog walkers, steep in places, might be a challenge in muddy times, I plan to try alternative car parks at some point.

The best hiking track in North Down walk. Lovely views, beautiful place, ideal for picnic. Big parking around. Super cool view from the hillside. Recommend this park of trail for bike or walk.

What a beautiful place for a walk. The car park wasn’t very busy, so nice and easy to park. The ticket machine wasn’t working but you can use an app to pay if required. I did the Denbies hillside nature walk, the views were absolutely stunning. It takes you to the bottom and then clearly, you know you’re going to have to make it back up the hill. The NT online guide I used reckoned it’s take 2 hours but it was quite a lot quicker than that. Perhaps it allows for some longer stops which are totally called for, given the views to take in. Thoroughly recommend - I’ll be coming back here again soon.

St Martin's Church in Dorking is a magnificent place of worship that exudes awe-inspiring beauty and rich historical significance. Its stunning stained glass windows and the unique opus septile, which combines mosaic work with stained glass design, are mesmerizing. This gothic-style church, although listed as Grade II*, resembles a cathedral with its grandeur. While it underwent renovations in the 19th century, its origins trace back to ancient times predating the middle ages.
Beautiful church in Dorking just off the High Street. Quite big for the size of the town. Lovely windows and a beautiful old font. Well worth a visit.

You’d think the strong ties with Vaughn Williams would be the most interesting thing about this church, but in the 1950’s under the looming threat of nuclear extermination that came living in the shadow of the Cold War the people of Dorking converted the crypts under this church into a fallout shelter capable of protecting about 30 people from the initial radio active fallout that would sweep down from London, this of course required a door into the crypts/shelter should the church be locked and they built the rather pedestrian looking entrance as can be seen in the photo at the front of the church for quick access! Interesting Yes!

This Church delivers the Wow factor its just wonderful steeped in History and you can spend hours just looking at the stained glass windows never mind viewing the opus septile (work made in pieces) which combines the techniques of mosaic work with the design features of stained glass Well worth a visit if you're in Dorking and you definitely will not forget it There's a Christain Centre opposite where you can get a coffee and they also do lunches.

This gothic style church is listed only Grade II* but it does look like a Grade I* cathedral material. It's current structure is from 19th century renovations but originally it goes way back in time beyond middle ages. The spire is one of the tallest in the country and acts as a proper landmark when viewed from Surrey Hills.

My gym membership has increased nearly double since the overtaking of ‘Better’. The facilities however have gotten progressively worse with multiple machines being out of service for several weeks still yet to be fixed. Overly priced for the value.
Jack W — Google review
Its a good gym but has become very expensive with the price hikes. £15 for a day pass for a leisure centre is extortionate, especially as many machines were out of order or needed basic maintenance.
Robert P — Google review
Editing to say there’s more machines broken, even water fountain!! How can a gym function without a water fountain? Nice staff and gym’s always clean! But membership is highly overpriced for what it offers! Small gym, lack of equipments and maintenance is non-existent. Stair stepper’s been broken for at least 4 months! It’s a joke
Lívia V — Google review
Unjustified price hike for a deteriorating health centre. I used to be a member using the sauna in the evenings (with pool membership at £27 per month). Since Better too over, the changing rooms and shower areas became less clean and to access the session I had to wait in the queue behind non-member and share my full name in front of strangers, even if I booked the session via the new app beforehand. I remained a member, as the benefits of the sauna were worth the price and hassle, but since my membership expired, I was quoted £42 for renewal, which not only is a 55% price hike with no additional benefit, but is actually higher than the monthly swim membership advertised at £41 per month for new members!!!! It’s not so much about that pound difference, but a matter of principle. Good luck keeping members with such practices.
Stella N — Google review
Very nice leisure center! The reason i gave 3 stars is about the carpark and prices(very expensive for what they offer) I have to pay the park to go to the gym,and if i go 5 days a week, that's the cost for another month of membership. They should have an agreement with the carpark administation for leisure center members.

Virtually pointless swimming pool. My 7 year old son can easily manage a length on his own but according to the rules he’s not allowed out of a 5m x 10m area of the shallow end. This rule is strictly enforced irrespective of the child in questions ability to swim or my supervison. During a family swim session, most of the pool is virtually empty and obviously this area of the shallow end is crammed with parents all bumping into each other because anyone with a kid less than 8 who goes a metre past the red line gets waved back by the life guard. Obviously it’s possible to organise a pool, better than this even within the limitations of insurance. Somehow other places manage. One star is actually to much. It’s a badly run gym with lack of management. Just cancelled my membership. Would not advise anyone to join there.

Historic Sites
The Deepdene Trail, located just outside Dorking, offers a unique and historically rich walking experience. The network of paths takes you through dense rhododendron-covered hillsides, leading to a circular bench with stunning views at the hilltop. As you descend via a flight of steps, you'll encounter ornamental plants, the "Embattled Tower," and Coady the lion in the gardens. Information boards along the trail provide insights into its history.
Looking for hiking trails on Google the first result was the Deepdene trail in Dorking. We went there for the first time and struggled a little bit to find parking and also how to access the trail but we managed to do it in the end. The trail start is somehow hidden by the trees and when the road curves. Because we went there we just did a part of the trail and the gardens. It is a lovely afternoon walk or you can choose to go there with a lovely picnic and spent the day exploring the trails.
Andreea B — Google review
Lovely walking trail with excellent views. Not too busy and great for a shorter walk. Information boards dotted around explaining the history of the gardens with guided tours also available.

End August. Google maps took me into a large private car park servicing flats. So I went back up the hill and parked by the entrance of the footpath blocked for cars. Information boards. A pleasant stroll uphill past mature rhododendrons overlooking the old formal gardens leading from the private car park. Up 125 steps to the view. On the way back picked lots of very good blackberries Only three other peopleon a Friday afternoon.

Unusual trail with an interesting history, just outside Dorking. A network of paths lead up hillsides densely covered with rhododendrons. At the top of the hill there are good views and a circular bench, surrounded in October by a sea of fallen acorns - need to be careful walking over them! A flight of steps leads down to the gardens, home to some ornamental plants, the "Embattled Tower" and Coady the lion. The trail is well signed, with various information boards explaining its history. Once the site of an impressive manor house (demolished in the late 1960s), the gardens were atmospheric in the late afternoon shade, with a strong sense of past glory. Pictures on the boards showed the house in its heyday, would have been quite a sight to see. There are a couple of parking spaces at the entrance gate, if these are full it's about 20 minutes walk from the nearest parking in town. The trail can extend into longer walks around Dorking if you have more time to spend.
Andrew T — Google review
A beautiful hidden gem of Dorking, lovely views from the top of the hill and enough rhododendrons to last you a lifetime in the gardens. The only downside is that there's not much in the way of parking nearby. But as a result the area is quieter than you might expect for somewhere so lovely. There is a Deepdene app that you can download with details of the trails and historical tidbits about each location. Also, at the entrance on the A24 there are free leaflets with maps for you to take to enhance your enjoyment.

It's a lovely place for a walk, it has been very well renovated and isn't far from the town for parking!! 15 mins walk from station 2! It's hilly in places so take good footwear we only visited the restored gardens but will be back to explore more of it now we've found it!! Congratulations to all who are restoring it!!!

Mediterranean restaurant
Turkuaz Restaurant offers an impressive chef special consisting of a generous platter of delectable grilled meats, peppers, and tomatoes atop a bed of rice accompanied by a fresh salad. Additionally, patrons can indulge in warm bread, baba ganoush, and chips prepared in pristine oil. The establishment boasts warm and friendly staff who ensure a pleasant dining experience with their abundant smiles. The restaurant is notably spacious and impeccably clean, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meal.
Simply incredible! the quality is high end, the flavours are keen and varied, the meats tender and juicy. i’ve rarely tasted food this good. its like voodoo! dont miss out and i dont say that lightly. come once and i bet youll come time and again
Mission D — Google review
The service was very good and our food came out quickly as it wasn’t very busy. The staff were really nice. I had a halloumi and avocado wrap and I thought it was quite dry. Would have been better to order a meat main in hindsight but as I was in before lunch I didn’t want anything that heavy. Maybe worth a try in the evening.

Lovely Mediterranean Spot with a Few Sweet Missteps Very nice Mediterranean restaurant. The interior was thoughtfully designed—modern, cosy, and inviting. It created a great atmosphere for the evening. The main courses were easily 5 out of 5—both in presentation and flavour. Clearly made fresh and with care. No complaints there at all. The desserts, unfortunately, let things down. We tried the baklava and the tiramisu. The baklava was overly sweet, a bit dry, and didn’t taste particularly fresh. As for the tiramisu—same story. Lacked that freshness and creaminess you’d expect. In hindsight, probably shouldn’t have ordered tiramisu at a non-Italian place, so fair enough. All in all, I’d still recommend the restaurant. Great food and ambience—just steer clear of the dessert menu, or at least those two.

Just popped in for lunch for 3 people. 2 of us had Lamb wraps with fries. These were delicious, a decent size and came with nice little side dishes of hot salsa and sour cream. The gluten free member of our party had a fried breakfast. The waiter understood gluten free, swapped the sausage out for an extra egg and provided gluten free bread. Nice fresh juices and lovely ice cold IPA on a hot day. Came in at about £19 each including 10% service. We will go back for dinner one day, very nice.

Absolutely amazing. Went there with my mom and sister after visiting the vineyard. We had a hot mezze platter, followed by the chefs special and lamb chops. The service was top notch and the food was really nice as well. It's a very cozy place to have dinner with the family. Very beautifully decorated indoors. All credits go to the service 5 stars times 2.

We had a lovely family breakfast. Staff were very welcoming. Menu was plentiful and all the food served was delicious. My omelette was up there with one of the best I've ever had, the french toast was perfectly sweet and the full english was spot on. Breakfast menu served until 3pm is also a big plus. Will certainly return.

Indian restaurant
Tandoori Nights is a hidden gem that promises an exceptional dining experience, especially for those who appreciate authentic Indian cuisine. On a quiet Wednesday evening, guests can enjoy the delightful flavors of their dishes without feeling rushed. The restaurant boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by friendly and attentive staff who genuinely care about your experience. Diners rave about the depth of flavor in each dish, which is both fresh and satisfying without leaving you overly stuffed.
Incredible food. The Tuesday deal £12.99 for 5 courses is fantastic value. Staff very friendly.

Had a meal here on a Wednesday evening. 7:30 ish , it was very quiet. The food was exceptional and good value for money. I wouldn’t come too late as not fair to expect them to stay open late if it is quiet. Service was very good with regular check backs and very friendly staff. Give it a try if you get chance , be a pity if they had to close cos of no business. I would definitely go back. Just be careful of the 10% service charge that they add on, hence only 4 stars.

Interesting place. The taste of the food is actually not bad at all - I've often enjoyed the curries and various sundries. However, the portion sizes are rather small across the board! This wasn't an issue when they used to have an offer on Just Eat which made it a very reasonable deal, but that offer no longer seems to work. Cheaper than others in the area still, but not enough food to make it worthwhile. £20 a head for a small takeaway curry and extras is just too expensive.
Lance H — Google review
Actual price differs from the online prices. Chicken curry for £5.95 but charged £6.95. Just a pounds difference but for their mistake they should not charge the customers. I loose trust at any place which fails to deliver as per the information provided on their websites. Not fair.

This is a very good Indian restaurant. One of the best I have ever tried in Surrey. The food has an amazing depth of flavour, is fresh, and leaves you feeling good / not too full afterwards. The owner and other members of staff are all delightful and passionate about the service they offer. Proud to now call Tandoori Nights our local.

My partner and I arrived at 9.50pm for a quick meal before heading home after visiting Dorking Halls which is directly opposite. No one approached us as we walked in and we had to go right up to the counter area at the back of the restaurant to ask for a table for two. There were four men there, one clearly a waiter, and the others appearing to be friends or delivery drivers, but either way, not staff. We were met with a shocked look from this one waiter visible to us - a sort of "a customer, what next" kind of look. "I'll check with the kitchen" came the reply - arr, that old chestnut. The "do we want to have to do any work in exchange for money" sort of question. The "I was hoping to knock off early this evening" kind of question. The "I don't know why we advertise being open until 10.30pm as we just close when we feel like it" kind of approach. "Yes, we're still open" we were told (despite the ridiculous noise coming from the kitchen suggesting it was obvious they were either still open or someone was wrestling an elephant out there), and then ignored, so we made our way over to a table on our own and sat down by the window. The table next to us was still full on dirty plates and dishes perhaps there from a previous customer or even day, and the only other people visible were another table for four Asian men either delivery drivers or massive fans of shell suit style tops - or both. We sat for perhaps 7-8 minutes without being offered a drink or a menu, and no menu was visible on our table or any other within sight. No one approached us during the time. Indeed, the only event of the brief visit was to see the one waiter head outside for a brief semi-heated chat with more delivery drivers, before returning and slamming the door so hard it almost came off its hinges and rivalled only the noise emanating from the kitchen and the elephant wrestling. Given there was an element of doubt about whether they were still open upon entry, to be ignored since sitting our patience finally wore thin and we upped and left, without so much as a goodbye, apology or comment from the staff. Tandoori nights - perhaps more Tandoori early evenings. 9.50pm at night is clearly too late for a curry, as all men will attest to.

First time visitors and will definitely be back. We eat out in Indian restaurants quite a lot and we loved this place. Service very friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere with nice music in the background and nice clientele. Food was some of the best Inidan food we have had and are already looking forward to our next visit.

Went for dinner with my wife and 2 children. Service was excellent. The restaurant was clean and very welcoming but the food tops it all, by far the best curry we have eaten for a long time. Lots of curry houses in Dorking but this is by far the standout winner in my book. Excellent food will definitely be visiting again

Pub
Restaurant
The Kings Arms is a historic pub that has been around since the 1400s. It offers traditional British dishes and cask ales in charming rooms with oak beams. Located in the heart of Dorking, this delightful establishment serves great classics from the British cuisine. Despite its small size, it is always bustling with customers enjoying their meals. The menu boasts a good variety of options to choose from, including amazing pies that are highly recommended.
A great place to relax, a beautiful building inside and out, built around 1400s. A place full of charm and character. And the mould wine is really tasty. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to relax and enjoy a nice evening with friends and family 🫶🫶🫶

A fantastic pub and hotel. Staff are lovely, drinks very nice, the room was stunning and loved the decor. Breakfast was also extremely tasty. Would definitely visit again.

I’ve been to the King’s Arms many times before and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks but yesterday I decided to organise a “baby shower” meal as such with all my friends and family at the King’s and it was nothing short of amazing. Food was incredible as usual, the service was the best particularly from Laura who served our meals, cleared our tables and double checked we were all happy! And also to Eddie who was serving us on the bar! Also want to say a huge thank you to Rachel the manager who organised the tables for my party in the restaurant area, this way it felt more intimate for us all. Particularly as it was a Friday night. And of course a massive thank you to Warren and Dom the chefs who got our food cooked in quick time! INCREDIBLE dirty fries! Overall lovely pub, lovely staff and would highly recommend.

Cosiest pub I’ve been to and the ambience there gives a comforting feeling. Sat by the fireplace and that lifted the feeling even more. Not a big menu, but the food was tasty. The loo’s were clean, maybe a bit small. I found it nice that the women’s loo had a basket with practical things such as hairspray. Staff were friendly and the pub was located right on the street so it was easy to find.

Fantastic traditional pub serving great British classics set right in the centre of Dorking. We sat outside as they had their pub quiz going on that evening but it was still really comfortable and they have heaters dotted around. Service was quick, staff were all lovely and welcoming. Food was fantastic, portion sizes were brilliant and great value for money. Would definitely recommend if visiting Dorking.

Fish and chips takeaway
Fast food restaurant
If you're looking for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Sea Breeze. My colleague and I recently visited this charming spot on a Friday night, and it was the perfect way to unwind after a long week. We found convenient parking right outside and were greeted with warm smiles as we entered. The atmosphere was inviting, making it easy to strike up conversations with fellow diners while we eagerly awaited our meal.
Fish and chips are soooo good! Owners are friendly and fun to talk to. Generous portions. Best fish in chips in town.
Debbie H — Google review
Good size fish & chips and friendly service. The batter was a little greasy but still nice and crispy, chips were average. Certainly one of the better chippies in Dorking. Unfortunately, like many other takeaways, they have adapted to try and appeal to a larger audience by offering kebab, burgers and other types of fast food. I'm not a fan of the "we do everything takeaways". In most cases it shows in the quality. Fortunately here the fish & chips were still good quality. Cannot comment on the kebab, but not sure I want to order kebab from a fish restaurant called sea breeze either!
Rob P — Google review
Myself and a colleague of mine stopped at the sea Breaze last Friday night for some well-earned food around 10 pm, we managed to park just outside, and a warm welcome was awaiting us. Lovely atmosphere, lovely people, chatted to some other customers while waiting for our food, well worth the wait, the food was amazing lovely and hot, very tasty.if you are in the area definitely worth a visit.
Michael G — Google review
We just ordered and one of the sides has a labelled use-by date that was 4 days ago. The fish is very greasy and the portion of chips is tiny. Expensive to boot. Absolutely not ordering again.

Ordered 2 chicken shish yesterday, 1 was edible just about, the other burnt and dry..?. This place is so inconsistent.... £8 For a small portion that turns up bitter and burnt...don't bother
Claire M — Google review
Just had the worst food from Seabreeze. Four pieces of cod all with soggy doughy batter, a battered sausage with the texture of dog food, watery curry sauce and mushy peas that were more wet than peas. To add insult to injury, ordered and was charged for two portions of chips but only given one. All for the kings ransom of £70!!! Avoid at all costs!!!
Donna B — Google review
Food was delicious and came quickly. They were very helpful on the phone as well. Great customer service.

Never open they say on line they open we order then it gets rejected. We then ring then no answer we then go personally to find they closed, won’t be trying to order again. Would like to say please change opening and closing
