Casino
Casinos & Gambling
The Casino de Monte-Carlo is an elegant Beaux-Arts building that has gained fame through its appearances in film and literature. It offers upscale casino gaming, including blackjack, baccarat, roulette, and slot machines. The casino is housed in a stunningly majestic 1800s building with turrets and cupolas that give it the appearance of a palace.
Visit before 12:00 and you can walk around the rooms listing to the audio guide for €20 per adult. It’s an amazing place to visit even if you are not gambling. If you wish to gamble you can return after 14:00 and access again or just turn up after 14:00. You will need a passport to access even when there’s no gaming. Enjoy a meal or a drink at the bar it’s a fantastic atmosphere.

Words don’t do this place justice. I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the architecture and internal design on the ceilings. Honestly it gets better the further in you explore. We opted to get a Casino ticket to have a look around and had a bit of fun on the slot machines. I just couldn’t stop looking up at the ceiling. The designs are honestly beautiful. It’s definitely worth seeing if you like a visual feast.
Sean G — Google review
It is a lovely and well decorated place. Yet, they have a 20€ entry fee which is completely ridiculous. They trade on their reputation. I have been to dozens of casinos in different parts of the world that have fine art, beautul decor, and they welcome you without a tourist fee. There are lots of slot machines which definitely detract from the ambiance. The views in Monte Carlos lovely.
Mike L — Google review
I only spend few minutes in front and got what I came for. Many nice cars passing around ! Just be careful not to block them and be respectful. The casino is also very beautiful from the outside, I haven’t tried my luck to go in.

A famous casino where many luxury cars are often parked in the plaza. To enter the main lobby, there’s a simple bag check. Inside, you’ll find a service counter — appropriate attire, a passport, and the minimum exchange amount for chips are required to enter the casino. The souvenir shop inside the lobby is also worth a visit. Good luck. 🎰

Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is an iconic establishment that exudes elegance, luxury, and charm. Built in 1863, this architectural masterpiece continues to captivate visitors with its opulent interiors and world-class gaming experience. As you step into the grand lobby, you are greeted by a stunning atrium adorned with marble floors, ornate pillars, and a breathtaking chandelier. The ambiance transports you to an era of old-world glamour, reminiscent of James Bond films and high society gatherings. The casino boasts a variety of gaming options, including approximately 140 gaming tables featuring Blackjack, Poker, Baccarat, and Roulette. Both traditional and modern slot machines are available, ensuring there's something for every type of player. For those seeking higher stakes, exclusive gaming rooms cater to elite clientele. The staff at Casino de Monte-Carlo are professional and friendly, ensuring your experience is both enjoyable and memorable. Whether you're a seasoned gambler or simply looking to immerse yourself in the lavish atmosphere, the Casino de Monte-Carlo is a must-visit destination when in Monaco. Overall, the Casino de Monte-Carlo lives up to its reputation as a premier gaming establishment. Its elegant ambiance, top-notch gaming options, and attentive staff combine to create an unforgettable experience for all who visit.

It is very luxury place and The Casino de Monte-Carlo is a legendary entertainment complex known for its opulent Belle Époque architecture. Designed by Charles Garnier, who also created the Paris Opera, it features stunning frescoes, sculptures, and gaming rooms. Since its 1863 opening, the casino's success was pivotal in solidifying Monaco's wealth, allowing Prince Charles III to eliminate taxes for residents. The complex also includes the prestigious Opéra de Monte-Carlo. Immortalized in James Bond films like GoldenEye, the venue remains a glamorous destination, though Monaco citizens are forbidden from gambling inside.
Niraj K — Google review
It was an experience. Absolutely stunning architecture all over. So grand inside. A must visit place if in Monaco. The entire casino is so special. Monegasques are forbidden to enter , work or gamble here. Designed by the famous architect of the Paris Opera. Foreigners just need to pay a fee of Euro 20 ... 10 euro entrance fee and 10 euro voucher for a drink or u cud use the voucher to gamble. Please dress smart to enter. We did however win 11 euro just for fun. The building will be lighted up at sunset. Which makes nice photography shots. Also many beautiful supercars parked in front to add to yr beautiful photos. Remember to list this place in your bucket list.

Café de Paris Monte-Carlo is an elegant brasserie with art nouveau-style decor and a spacious terrace. The establishment recently celebrated its 150th anniversary with a renovation overseen by the renowned Moinard Betaille firm, known for their work at prestigious venues such as Relais Plaza Athenee and Fondation Cartier.
Café de Paris – Monte Carlo Absolutely loved my time at this iconic spot in Monte Carlo. The moment you sit down, you feel the buzz of Monaco — elegance, history, and people-watching at its finest. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and paired perfectly with the atmosphere. 🌟 Tip: Make a reservation ahead of time — this café is always full, and for good reason. Next time you’re in Monte Carlo, don’t just walk by — stop, sit, sip, and soak it in. A must-experience, whether for a meal, a coffee, or just to feel the heartbeat of the city. - Michelle

I’ve been coming here every few years since childhood and the experience has stayed remarkably consistent. The service is attentive and professional, though at times it can feel a little formal. Portions are far more generous than you’d expect for a place in the heart of Monte Carlo dishes come out looking grand and are plated with style. The onion soup was one of the best and one plate of tiramisu probably can be for 6 people. Although food is good it’s not somewhere you come for culinary surprises, but rather for the atmosphere, the setting on the square, and the sense of tradition
Mert E — Google review
I am impressed for both atmosphere and taste of food. We took oysters and salmon steak. Especially salmon steak had a special sauce with lemon and coconut which was impressive - I kept continue to eat the sauce with bread. Special attention to oysters, I would expect to have them cut and able to slide in sauce but it was not. It is also kids friendly - they have different main dishes + deserts option for the kids younger than 12. My daughter loved the beef steak and ice cream. Service was also kind and friendly. If you are in Monaco, this is the place to visit and eat once at least :)

Had an absolute wonderful time having lunch here! The food tasted amazing, would recommend the octopus and the tender pork loin. The service was great too and this restaurant has a beautiful ambience! Must try out this restaurant if you’re ever in Monaco!!

Cafe de Paris enjoys a truly fabulous location, right in the heart of the casino district. Sitting outside is a unique experience, where you can people-watch and admire the parade of luxury cars passing by. However, note that the outdoor area only offers café service, and on hot days you may need to wait quite a while to get a table. Inside, the atmosphere is air-conditioned and very luxurious, but during peak season it can get extremely crowded — sometimes it takes around 15 minutes just to place an order or get service from a waiter. The food itself is decent, tasty enough, but nothing particularly exceptional or memorable. At the end of the day, what you are really paying for here is the glamorous design and the unbeatable location.

My husband and I dined here when visiting Monaco. We dined inside of the restaurant, the decor is beautiful and truly gives you that luxurious experience. There is a patio area outside with a separate menu. Everything we ordered was delicious, we had zero complaints. Our waiter was attentive and our food came out in a timely manner. We will visit again when visiting Monaco.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely stunning place! Cafe de Paris didn’t disappoint from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed at the door and even allowed to choose the table we wanted. The desserts and coffee were absolutely delicious, and the view and atmosphere were just amazing. The staff were so friendly and kind—made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Monte Carlo, the Princess Grace Japanese Garden is a tranquil escape that beautifully marries traditional Japanese landscaping with Mediterranean charm. Spanning around 7,000 square meters, this serene oasis was crafted by esteemed landscape architect Yasuo Beppu and opened its doors in 1994. Visitors can wander along picturesque paths that wind around a peaceful pond adorned with koi fish, cross charming bridges, and find solace in a quaint tea house.
A calm and peaceful park in the heart of Monaco. It is very serene and you can relax walking through the garden. A few years ago the garden used to offer spectacular sea views, but sadly newly constructed buildings have blocked this view.

Princess Grace Japanese Garden is a peaceful and beautifully designed place in Monaco. The mix of water, trees, and traditional Japanese style creates a relaxing atmosphere. A perfect spot to take a walk, enjoy nature, and escape the busy city for a while.”

🍃 Japanese Garden, Monaco – A living poem of peace and balance The Japanese Garden in Monaco is one of those places where time seems to slow down. Everything here — the water, the stones, the bridges, the sound of the wind — feels perfectly balanced. It’s a small sanctuary right in the heart of the city, yet it holds the calm of a mountain temple. Every path seems to tell a story. The koi fish move gracefully in the pond, the bamboo rustles softly, and the reflections of the trees shimmer like thoughts passing through the mind. This garden isn’t meant to be rushed — it’s meant to be felt. If you love mindfulness, design, or simply need a pause from the city’s rhythm, this is the place to visit. Spend a few minutes sitting by the water, breathe deeply, and you’ll feel how peace naturally returns to you. I’ve visited many meditation spaces, but the Japanese Garden in Monaco has a unique vibration — it’s not just beauty you see, it’s serenity you feel. 🍃✨
Maka M — Google review
Nice garden but never expected the water to be so dirty. I entered coz I knew that there would or should be a good collection of koi’s, which are present in every Japanese garden. But was totally disappointed.. come to my house & see the kois you will love them. I have put one video of my kois too the clean pond is mine… please check. The stone lay outs I liked & the stand for birds to bathe is beautiful too. But sadly not Japanese way of cleanliness.

Le Jardin Japonais is one of the most peaceful spots in Monaco. It’s not very large, but it’s incredibly well maintained and beautifully arranged — every detail feels intentional. The mix of water, stones, plants, and wooden bridges creates a truly calming atmosphere. You can hear the sound of the water, watch the koi fish, and just take a quiet moment away from the busy city. It’s also a lovely place for photos or a short, refreshing walk. A perfect little escape in the heart of Monaco — serene, elegant, and full of charm. Definitely worth a visit!

Fine dining restaurant
Restaurant
Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, a restaurant created by Yannick Alleno, offers a unique dining experience that combines the finest gastronomic dishes with a focus on healthy eating and well-being. The restaurant's terrace provides stunning panoramic views of Port Hercule and the Rock. Situated at Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Pavyllon showcases modernity and excellence in Monaco's fine dining scene.
Pavyllon is a beautiful fine dining restaurant in the heart of Monaco. Located within the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, to access the restaurant, you go in the main doors of the hotel where one of the attendants will ask your reason for visit and take you to the restaurant. If someone does not come up to you, the hallway that takes you to Pavyllon is on the right side of the atrium. The restaurant decor is beautiful. It is a chic aesthetic that is immaculately clean. They have an open kitchen so if you are seated at the bar, you have a front row seat to their preparation. There is also a patio which is available weather-permitting and has a great ambiance. The bathrooms are extremely clean and quite fancy. We ordered the set menu for lunch which comprised of a cooked foie gras salad, a beautiful traditional trouchia, steamed sea bass with Japanese flavours, lamb chops with a shiso coulis and candied orange with mascarpone ice cream for dessert. The food was unbelievable! The trouchia was absolutely stunning in its presentation. It was one of the prettiest dishes I’ve seen and it was almost difficult to eat because it was like eating a piece of art! Flavour-wise, everything was delicious. The lamb was juicy and the accompanying sauce was a perfect complement. This dining experience was top notch. The ambiance was upscale, the service was exceptional and the food was amazing. We would love to come back the next time we are in Monaco!

My evening at Pavyllon Monte-Carlo was nothing short of extraordinary. Even though I arrived a bit late for my reservation, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made me feel instantly welcome, setting the tone for a truly memorable dining experience. Opting for the chef’s menu turned out to be an inspired choice. It allowed me to indulge in a unique variety of dishes I may not have otherwise selected, each one crafted with meticulous precision and bursting with bold, harmonious flavors. Every plate was an incredible culinary delight, reflecting both innovation and refined technique. Beyond the exceptional food, the staff’s thoughtfulness and accommodating nature truly stood out. Whether offering to retrieve my purse from the restroom or capturing a few photos for me at the end of the meal, their genuine hospitality elevated the experience far beyond just fine dining—it felt personal, effortless, and beautifully curated. The restaurant’s location, overlooks the sea and the iconic Formula 1 race track, which provided an unforgettable backdrop that enhanced every moment, making the evening feel as special as the setting itself. For those seeking an exquisite blend of culinary artistry, unparalleled service, and a stunning ambiance, Pavyllon Monte-Carlo is the perfect destination. A truly unforgettable gastronomic journey!

Lovely restaurant inside the Hermitage Hotel. Has a large outdoor balcony that overlooks all of Monte Carlo’s harbor. Food is Mediterranean and is quite good with a nice variety. I had the Foul And my wife had the Lamb. Service was good and the waitstaff was Very attentive and friendly. For a Michelin Star restaurant and its location we found the prices to be very reasonable. Would certainly eat here again
Adam C — Google review
The food was too heavy for me that I felt sick. The opening course of the amuse-bouche was pretty good, and so was the bread. The crab appetizer was surprising and had really fun textures. The pasta with peas tasted really weird, it was almost like vinegary. After the seabass course with the almond milk I felt so nauseated the food felt too filling that I was feeling sick. They kept on serving me food that was way too thick, creamy, and filling that by the lamb course, I felt I wanted to throw up just smelling it. I usually always try to finish my food or at least try a bite during tasting menus. I had a taste of the mashed potato and it was okay but at that point I was close to gagging I couldn’t even try the lamb. They still served me both the desserts even though I told them I couldn’t do it anymore. On the way out to the restaurant I was gagging and I threw up in the bathroom (and cried obviously because I spent my hard earned money to feel sick). I was solo dining and I really had my hopes up. I wish the waiters were more attentive because I came out of this restaurant paying 288 USD just to feel so nauseated, sick and to throw up. There was no lightness/freshness between the dishes. Maybe I’ll come back in a couple years if they change their menu and it looks like there’s more balance. Other than that, the ambience was nice with the open view and the open kitchen — but it was too noisy at one point I couldn’t hear the servers describing the dish to me and whenever I told them anything they couldn’t hear properly.
Liesl A — Google review
We went for dinner without a reservation, even though reservations are highly recommended. Despite this, the management went out of their way to accommodate us, which we truly appreciated. The restaurant itself is absolutely stunning. the terrace overlooks a beautiful bay filled with luxury yachts. overall ambiance and aesthetics are simply unmatched. Both the food and the service were excellent. We tried several different dishes, and everything was delicious. The shrimp tartare stood out as my personal favorite. A memorable dining experience from start to finish.

Pavyllon Monte-Carlo. A one‑Michelin‑star restaurant by Chef Yannick Alléno in Hermitage Hotel in Monte Carlo. The restaurant features an open kitchen with a tasting‑counter. The garden patio with a view of the sea is a bonus when with our permits. In terms of food, the offering is French cuisine using innovative methods like cold extraction. Desserts were excellent and not heavy on sugar.

Quai des Artistes is a charming restaurant located at Monaco's Hercule port, offering stunning views of the bustling harbor. The menu features delectable seafood dishes and classic French fare. Guests can choose to dine in the ornate indoor spaces or on the outdoor terrace overlooking the port. Despite its popularity, the restaurant maintains a relaxed atmosphere and provides excellent service.
Our dinner was absolutely delicious. The gamba (black tiger) was so big, almost like a lobster. It was cooked perfectly. We also had liver, ravioli, and fish soup. They gave us free warm bread with nice crispy crust. Everything was so tasty. The service was excellent! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They spoke English very well. The menu is on an expensive side, but this is what you expect for Monaco and it was totally worth it.

Well, lunch at Quai des Artistes was another level. Truly exceptional service, unbelievably gorgeous food, (that was far more than just a Club sandwich...), in an iconic location, and with a couple Formula 1 World Champions on a nearby table, (they were good enough not to come over and disturb us 😉). Not a bad way to spend lunchtime on your wedding anniversary...

Never could thought that tomato can be so tasty! Food was amazing, place is very nice and service was good though could be bit better. I would go there again.
Violeta B — Google review
We dined at a fabulous table on the Quai, looking out at Port Hercule. The location and view on the terrace is very difficult to beat. As always, the seafood was great - the oyster tasting platter, Malaysian prawns and King Crab come highly recommended. The mains were also very good - I particularly enjoyed the rib eye steak which was cooked perfectly. For desert the Mille-Feuille was nice but a little underwhelming. However the ice cream received good feedback! We experienced a couple of small issues with the service - the waiter brought out my fiancées cold main after the rest of the table who had ordered hot mains. They then also forgot her side of vegetables which took around 5 minutes to arrive which by then she was already halfway through her meal. And when they did finally arrive there was no hint of an apology! This same waiter also made it plain that a tip was expected upon handing over the bill, going as far to advise a percentage. We always leave a tip - there’s no need to be direct and cheeky about it especially as his service was far from flawless. Everybody else’s service however was great - especially the helpful moustached front of house/manager who confirmed our booking! The food is great, an excellent location and at a reasonable price point for Monaco - we will return.
Ben H — Google review
The service was excellent and we loved the decor. The portions were larger than we expected and we would have liked the option of a half portion so we would have room for dessert 😊. I had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes. The lamb was delicious but the potatoes could have been fluffier. The gluten-free bread was very good.

We ate here in the evening of June 10th, 2025. The service was perfect, the view was great, and the live DJ played excellent music. However, after returning to the hotel a few hours later that night, I suffered from food poisoning. I couldn’t eat or do anything the entire next day. It was so sad, as I really liked the service. But the food poisoning ruined the experience for me — so only one star. :(
Mstu C — Google review
Great food, I even had the best ravioli I ever had! Very kind staff, and good vibes. Only improvement I have is that it would have been nice if there were heaters at the terrace because it was a bit cold in the evening.

Tucked away among superyachts on the quai is a delightful stop for very good dining in a beautiful setting for traditional French cuisine. The service was perfect, the food was delicious, and a truly great escape from the noise at the Monte Carlo square/Ferraris/Porsches/ and Lamborghinis and hundreds of selfies. Makes the visit to this mecca a real treat.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Musée océanographique de Monaco, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Private Cars Collection of HSH Prince of Monaco. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Perched dramatically on a cliffside, the Musee Oceanographique de Monaco was established by Prince Albert I and has been captivating visitors since 1910. The museum boasts an impressive aquarium featuring 6000 specimens, including sharks, tropical fish, and Mediterranean species housed in ninety tanks. It serves as a tribute to the prince's contributions to oceanography and marine biology. Additionally, visitors can enjoy stunning panoramic views of Monaco and the Mediterranean from the rooftop terrace.
I highly recommend visiting the Monaco Oceanographic Museum. The building has five levels in total (including the ground floor and terrace), but the two highlights are Floor -2 and Floor +1. Floor -2 (Aquariums): This is where you’ll find the aquariums, the main attraction for both adults and children. It’s a must-see. Floor +1 (Exhibits): This floor houses fascinating exhibits about oceanography, exploration, and history. Adults will find them engaging, though children may lose interest quickly. For families, a good strategy is to let the kids enjoy the aquariums first while you take time to explore the museum-style exhibits upstairs without rushing. A visit takes a minimum of 2 hours, with 3 hours being ideal. Anything longer might feel overwhelming, so if you want to dive deeper into all the details and information panels, it’s worth considering a second visit. Other floors are less essential: Floor -1: Mostly empty. Ground floor (0): Entrance, gift shop, and a stunning conference hall that looks more like a palace. Terrace (+2): Offers beautiful views but not a major highlight compared to the main exhibits. Overall, the museum is an enriching experience, especially if you focus on the two key levels.

Is this place awesome? Yes. Is it worth the entry price? Maybe. Would I go again? No. Let me clarify. If you've got kids, it's DEFINITELY worth it. Otherwise there's other things to do / see that are more amazing. What it's got is a nice restaurant terrace with a kids playground. And an awesome function room that we spend some time just sitting. Otherwise it's just good, but not great.
Petrut I — Google review
Beautiful and well curated. The aquarium part is well kept, with interesting information about the fish and other creatures kept in the tanks. It is not too big, but with its focus on the Mediterranean, it covered a lot of species. The exhibit part was very interesting and organised, and much better than what I would expect from what I thought would be an aquarium. The 2050 exhibit was positive and engaging, and I left feeling hopeful (in contrast to the usual feeling of helplessness against climate change). The view from the terrace is beautiful.

A must do visit in Monaco, with or without children. The building itself was very impressive. However the displays were amazing. The exhibition was incredibly well done and very entertaining. The view from the rooftop with its restaurant and cafe was amazing.

One of the most beautiful museums in Europe! On the very edge of a steep cliff, carved into stone overlooking the ocean. Very modern and well kept with exhibitions ranging from polar ice explorations and skeletons of blue whales to the history of Monaco. Definitely a must visit if you go to Monaco! We did not buy tickets in advance nor did we wait, visited in July!

The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco made a huge impression on me. It’s beautifully designed, with incredible attention to detail — both the exhibits and the building’s architecture are truly impressive. The only small downside is that navigation inside isn’t very intuitive — the tour starts from the lower floors, but there aren’t many clear signs indicating that. Aside from that, it’s a fantastic experience! There’s a huge number of exhibits, historical artifacts, and interactive displays that capture the attention of both adults and children. It’s definitely worth buying a combined ticket with the Prince’s Car Collection — it’s cheaper as a bundle and both attractions complement each other well. On the rooftop, there’s a terrace offering a stunning panoramic view of the sea and a restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere — a perfect place to take a break after visiting the museum. A highlight is the “Mediterranee 2050” interactive exhibition, which explores the future of marine life and the challenges facing the Mediterranean ecosystem. It’s beautifully executed, thought-provoking, and leaves a lasting impression.

My favourite place in the world! Beautiful building on the side of the cliff, price was 22 euro for an adult but well worth it, especially if you have never been before. Large clean tanks and animals look well cared for. New digital installation which the nephews loved. Make sure you go to the rooftop for the panoramic views! Lush clear blue sea and fab views of the boats and port.

Small, but great aquarium at the top of a mountain. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the walk up and up and up the incline to reach the aquarium. Most of the people going up to the museum stopped to rest and enjoy the view about midway up. I believe there is a little train/tram... wish I had known before the exhausting climb.

Nestled in the heart of Monaco, the Cathédrale de Monaco stands as a stunning example of Romanesque architecture dedicated to Saint Nicholas. This magnificent cathedral, which serves as the seat of the Bishop of Monaco, was built in gratitude for Saint Nicholas's legendary act of saving sailors from perilous waters.
Nice historical location here in Monaco. Lots to see. You can walk around and get a lot of views in on foot. Love this country. Everyone so friendly We ask a carabinere(state police) all the time for directions they are really nice guys.

A Catholic church built in the Neo-Romanesque architectural style and dedicated to Notre-Dame (Virgin Mary). Impressive religious artworks, sculptures and glass panels adore this enormous place of worship. Wasn't lucky to linger more than 15 mins as there was a planned baptism on that Sunday.

The Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate is a beautiful landmark that combines spiritual importance with impressive architecture. Built in white stone, it has a bright and elegant exterior, while the interior is peaceful and decorated with fine details. It is also the resting place of Monaco’s princes and Princess Grace, which gives it special historical significance. The cathedral offers a calm atmosphere and is definitely worth a visit for both its religious and cultural value.
Mateo B — Google review
Just a short stroll from the palace lies Monaco’s Cathedral of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, a quietly splendid stone sanctuary that radiates calm, class, and just the right amount of royal gravitas. Built in creamy white stone, the cathedral is elegant without being flashy — think duchess, not diva. Inside, it’s cool and composed, with soft light, soaring arches, and a deep sense of peace that gently insists you lower your voice and your pulse. It’s also the final resting place of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III, their tombs marked with simple dignity amid quiet reverence. The organ is magnificent, the acoustics divine, and the atmosphere just the tonic for a hot Riviera afternoon. Step in for a moment of stillness and grace and perhaps to give your sunhat a break.

Located conveniently between the Prince's Palace and the Oceanographic Museum (literally only a 5 or 6 minute walk from either of them) and directly across the street from the Jardins Saint-Martin. The exterior of the Cathedral is grand and striking. The interior has very simple decorations and adornments, which actually helps give it a sense of tranquility and solace. The building is typically open to the public around 09:00 to 18:00 (9am to 6pm) except during religious services. Entry is free, and you can light a candle for about €2. A prominent feature are the tombs of past royal family members and Monaco dignitaries, including Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace Kelly. I recommend a visit if you're into history, architecture, or want to experience a place which harmoniously blends quiet serenity, elegance, simplicity, and reflection.

The Cathedral of Monaco is a stunning spot in Monaco-Ville. The white stone exterior is impressive, and inside, the Romanesque design creates a peaceful, almost reverent atmosphere. I was particularly moved by the tombs of Princess Grace and Prince Rainier, which add a sense of history to the space. The stained-glass windows cast a soft glow, enhancing the calm. It’s free to enter, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in the area — it’s a beautiful and quiet escape from the busier parts of Monaco.
Kungfu-pigeon — Google review
Spectacular structure. It's not as decorated as you'd expect but the architecture is brilliant. Super high. Holds the tombs of the princesses of Monaco. Worth walking over 5 minutes from the palace.
Yuval K — Google review
The Monaco Cathedral is an absolute masterpiece of Neo-Romanesque style. Built with dazzling white stone from La Turbie, it stands proudly on the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean, creating one of the most striking vistas on the Riviera. What’s remarkable is how the building harmonizes with its natural setting—the bright stone façade almost glows against the lush greenery and rocky cliffs, making it a landmark visible from sea and land alike. Even if you’re not particularly religious, the architecture alone makes this a must-see. It’s an elegant example of Romanesque revival done right.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco, a 13th-century residence, offers lavish state apartments that are open to the public seasonally. Monaco provides a stunning backdrop for romantic experiences, such as proposals, with its Mediterranean coastline and glamorous attractions like the Monte Carlo Casino. The palace is often included in sightseeing tours and shore excursions that also visit other historic sites and landmarks in Monaco. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views from the palace terrace while admiring Port Hercule.
I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the history of Monaco and it's monarchy. This palace is the seat of the royal family and still plays an active role in the government. They recommend purchasing admission tickets in advance online, but tickets can also be bought at the gift shop across the plaza. You will have to go though a security screening to enter the palace. The tour is self-guided, and an audio-guide in 11 languages is included with your ticket. An entire wing is open to the public, so allow at least an hour if you want to see everything. The audio-tour dives deep into the country's history, and I found it very interesting. Each room features beautiful artifacts, furnishings, and vivid information. Guide-led tours are also available, but must be booked in advance. If you plan to visit the nearby Oceanographic Museum on the same day, you can purchase a combo ticket to both for a reduced rate.

The Prince's Palace of Monaco is the official residence of the Prince of Monaco. It's built on a former fortress site from the 13th century. Parts of the original fortress still visible within its stone walls and towers. Due to lack of time could not visit the interior of the palace. But enjoyed the spectacular, panoramic views of the city, the harbor with the yachts, and the surrounding mountains from the location of the palace. Wonderful experience even without getting inside the palace. Highly recommend it.

Its a historic landmark offering stunning panoramic views of the city and harbor. Easily accessible by a short uphill walk, it beautifully showcases Monaco’s royal heritage and rich history. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Place du Palais Princier – Monaco We didn’t go inside the palace, but the square itself is absolutely beautiful! Charming little streets with nice shops, bars, and restaurants — all at reasonable prices (especially for Monaco!). The view over the bay and the small yacht harbor is truly spectacular. It’s best explored on foot. At 11:55 a.m. you can watch the changing of the guard — quite fun to see, though it gets crowded and the area is roped off. Still, definitely worth a visit when in Monaco!
Alexander W — Google review
Saw the change of guards ceremony. It was worth the effort to go uphill and watch this. Also, the gift shop in the courtyard is very reasonable compared to other souvenir shops in the city. The view of Monte Carlo from the palace is breathtaking.

A must see if in Monaco! I took the Hop on & Hop off bus tour to the Palace and in my opinion is the best way to get up there if you're a tourist! I actually got off the bus twice at this particular stop because it is so SPECTACULAR! Best views of Monaco. This is not a place, it's a DREAM! It could get very windy but that's all part of the allure. If you're traveling solo, then a selfie stick is your best friend. You'll get AMAZING shots. Other than the Palace, there are a few small places to eat and some souvenirs vendors, oh there was like some changing of the guard kinda protocol that took place for a few.

The Private Cars Collection of HSH Prince of Monaco is a spacious museum that showcases a remarkable array of vintage automobiles once owned by Prince Rainier III. The collection boasts nearly 100 classic cars, including prestigious models from Maserati, Jaguar, Mercedes, and Rolls-Royce, as well as iconic vehicles like the De Dion-Bouton 1903, Ford A 1930, Delage 1934, and Lincoln 1928.
The collection is worth visiting for any fan of luxury and unique cars, the entrance fee is priced fair at 10 euros and the exhibition has interactive parts providing information in various languages. The gift shop is worth a visit and has a wide range of F1 merchandise, vintage Monaco prints and souvenirs which are all fairly priced. It does get very busy but it is worth taking the time to appreciate the collection to it's entirety, very accessible and easy to find.

I had a wonderful time visiting the car exhibition in Monte Carlo. The collection is beautifully curated, showcasing some truly unique and fascinating pieces — from rare automobiles to glimpses into the prince’s life, and even some captivating outer space machinery. The blend of history, innovation, and storytelling makes the experience both engaging and memorable. On top of that, the tickets are very reasonably priced, making it excellent value for such a special exhibition. Highly recommend!

Oh man, if you wanna go fast, you gotta visit this place! I’m Scott Bobby (Ricky’s half brother - if you know our dad, you know😉) and let me tell ya, as a guy who’s all about speed and shakin’ and bakin’ down the track, this museum is straight-up legendary. Help me, Tom Cruise—wait, no, that’s not right, but seriously, this collection is like the ultimate pit stop for any gearhead. It’s got nearly a hundred of the most beautiful, badass cars from history, all shiny and ready to roar, just sittin’ there in this modern 3,500 square meter spot right by Port Hercule, close enough to the Monaco Grand Prix circuit that you can almost hear the engines revvin’ from the old days. I mean, we’re talkin’ classics like the 1903 De Dion Bouton— that’s older than my grandma’s recipe for ice cubes. And then bam, you got F1 monsters: the Bugatti Type 35B that won the first Monaco GP in 1929, the Renault RE60 from ‘85, Ferrari 640 that dominated in ‘89, and even Sébastien Loeb’s Citroën DS3 WRC from the 2013 Monte Carlo Rally. Ferraris, Lambos, Maseratis, Rolls-Royces, Lincolns, and Porsches. In fact there’s a beautiful Porsche 918 Spyder as soon as you walk in. This place is like a who’s who of automotive royalty, all polished up and tellin’ stories of glory on the track. Prince Rainier III knew how to pick ‘em; he started this back in the ‘50s, and now Prince Albert’s keepin’ the flame alive. No wonder Monaco’s the heart of racin’—this ain’t just a museum, it’s a temple to goin’ fast! The setup’s top-notch too: well-lit, organized by eras and types, with room to walk around and imagine yourself behind the wheel. I spent hours there, feelin’ like a king (or a prince, ha!). If you’re into cars, F1 or just pure adrenaline, this is a must-see. Five stars all the way—dear Lord, baby Jesus, thank you for this collection! I’d shake and bake right through the doors again in a heartbeat. My friend Jean Girard and his husband Gregory loved it too.
Scott L — Google review
A great timeline of automotive history, from early classics to modern supercars. The collection is beautifully displayed and easy to walk through. Personally, I found there to be a few too many vintage models compared to newer ones, but it’s still impressive to see the evolution of design and engineering in one place. Perfect for a 20–30 minute visit, especially for car enthusiasts passing through Monaco.

Food was incredible and fair price for quality. Drinks slightly overpriced. Pinsa & salad perfect combo for lunch or dinner - ham & truffle pinsa with burrata tomato pesto salad 12/10. Table next to us got carbonara and bolognese which also looked amazing. There was one older woman waitress taking care of all tables and she was so sweet, friendly, and on top of everything!

I’m currently on a month long trip in Europe from the US. The Pinsa here is some of the best food I’ve had the whole trip, and the tiramisu is great as well. The service and people here are absolutely amazing and so personable it’s adorable. It’s all relatively cheap too, even the drinks being a reasonable price, and it’s located in a very cute spot. Louis II Stadium, the national football stadium of Monaco and home to AS Monaco, offers a capacity of over 18,000. The stadium was rebuilt in the 1980s and is known for its rich history. While some visitors find the concourse a bit tired and seating cramped, it remains a great venue with an electric atmosphere during matches. The picturesque backdrop of mountains adds to the charm, making it a favorite among fans.
It is possible to visit the stadium from Monday to Friday. The cost 5.60 is worth seeing all the facilities on the stadium. Our guide Moya E. was very professional and told about the history of stadium in a very interesting way. We left very satisfied, recommend !

Some of the best views from a stadium. You can see the upper cliffs of Monaco and other surrounding area. Great food and drink options as you approach the stadium. Quick and easy apparel shop is also on the way. Nice neighborhoods and sea views as you exit. Fights, hooligans, police, everything you'd expect from a French soccer game. Highly recommend going to a game here.

Visiting Monaco’s stadium had been a dream of mine since childhood, I always wanted to see a match there, and I was finally able to go with my kids. First of all, it’s a beautiful stadium. The entrances are well organized, and there’s plenty of security. But I had a very unusual experience during the Monaco vs. Inter Milan friendly match. I bought our tickets directly from the official Monaco website. There were three options: seating for Monaco fans, seating for Inter fans, and a neutral zone next to the VIP section. I chose the neutral zone and paid the highest price for those tickets. When we arrived, security stopped us because of the shirts we were wearing: I had on a Charlotte FC jersey, one of my kids wore an Italy national team jersey, and the other had a Belgium national team jersey. Security told us we couldn’t enter with those shirts. At first, I thought it was a joke. Then, after calling a supervisor and making me wait about 10 minutes (while the match had already started), they insisted I couldn’t go in. Frustrated, I went to a nearby shop, bought Monaco shirts, and came back. But even then, security told me I couldn’t bring the other jerseys inside, even though they were in a shopping bag. At that point, I lost my patience, argued, and finally a higher-level supervisor gave us clearance to enter. Honestly, it made no sense, and I still don’t understand why they gave us such a hard time. I plan to file a complaint with both AS Monaco and UEFA. That aside, the stadium itself is amazing to watch a match in. If it didn’t have the running track, you’d feel like you were right on top of the pitch. Despite being small, the crowd atmosphere carries really well and creates a great ambiance for the game.
Osman G — Google review
Fantastic stadium, a must for any football fan. One of Europe's most unique stadium's to say the least. Friendly fans and locals, went for the Monaco v Nice derby. No issues and straight through security with ease. There's no alcohol in the stadium so be warned! I bought my ticket as a neutral from the club website with ease. Plentiful of spare seats regardless of high profile games.

First time here Amazing day, on holiday so thought why not go, paid 88 euros for four tickets, we paid for parking which says stadium parking, obviously a multistorey on the way into Monaco from nice! It says stadium parking, follow signs, scan ya ticket upon entry, pay when you leave, 6 euros and we got back to the car 10.30 as went for food and look around etc... Monaco beat Strasbourg 3-2, Getting a drink in the stadium is a bit old fashioned, they pour coke from a bottle and charge 3 euros, great experience and the ticket prices are very reasonable, stadium never sells out so should always be easy getting tickets. Nice FC isn't far away, so maybe check that too.

The Trophy of Augustus, also known as the Trophy of the Alps, is a Roman-era monument located in La Turbie. Built around 6BC by Emperor Augustus to commemorate his victory over 45 Ligurian tribes, it offers panoramic views and a glimpse into ancient history. The monument was constructed to celebrate the emperor's triumph over rebellious tribes that obstructed trade routes through the mountains.
An extraordinary place, well worth a visit. The panorama from there is breathtaking with views over the whole of Monaco. The monument itself is well presented and allows close inspection, you can even climb up to a high viewpoint.

This is a ruin of a Roman centre. The French briefly reconstructed it to how it is now back in 1934. It’s €7 for adults, and free for under 18’s. I wouldn’t follow goggle maps directions as they lead you to a gate that is shut. Instead follow the signs to the trophy and there is a large air conditioned office in which you buy tickets. You can buy a combination ticket which is €16 for the Greek villa, but that is not local and around a 20 minute drive. You can climb the trophy and get great views. The stairs have handrails and the last few steps go round to take you up. There is a small museum which tells you the history of the trophy. The video is in French. Plenty of placards with information in different languages. Not much else to do except look at the trophy and small gardens surrounding it.

Good Roman era site of historical significance. However, most of it was plundered and destroyed. Lot of it was rebuilt in the early 20th century, not necessarily to exactly how it was in the first century as no one knows for sure what it looked like back then. The museum shows history but not necessarily easy to follow. Good to visit for 7 Euros if you are in La Turbie or Monaco. #11 bus takes you from Monte Carlo train station to the town of La Turbie.

Very cool Roman Trophy. Cheap fee to get in. Awesome history lesson. If you’re visiting on a weekday the only real way to get up to La Turbie is to take a bus from Monaco. Also the monument closed for 2hrs around lunch time so either show up before noon or come after 2pm.

Impressive Roman victory monument located in the hills just above Monaco in the medieval village of La Turbie, along the old Roman road, the Via Julia. It has been extensively restored in the early 20th century, with certainly photogenic results. The monument is located on a very strategic position, with wide views over coast and highlands. The history of the monument and it’s restoration are documented in a small but informative museum. Be advised that opening hours vary with the season (see photo). When I visited early on a Sunday morning I had the site practically to myself.

One of only a very few monuments of its type. Impressive monument celebrating Roman victory over 44 Northern hostile tribes. There is a small museum to show how it was partially restored and what it might have looked like. You can climb up to get fabulous views of the surrounding area.

The Exotic Garden of Monaco, also known as Jardin Exotique, is a hidden gem that showcases a stunning open-air display of cacti and succulent plants from dry zones worldwide. Perched on a rocky promontory at the north-western entrance of Monaco, it offers breathtaking views over the entire principality. The garden's unique location adds to its charm, drawing visitors to admire the diverse plant species while enjoying panoramic vistas of the Rock of Monaco and the Mediterranean coastline.
The gardens are superb. The price (7.50€ per adult) includes the gardens, the cave (really nice) and a small prehistoric museum. The view is fantastic and cacti are beautiful. There are small paths, romantic spots with benches and cute stop overs. The cave is very interesting, a little adventure, it's very warm and humid inside, I recommend to visit it (guided tours are every full hour, last one starts at 17). The museum gives a bit more history behind the cave and olden times in Monaco.
Agnes W — Google review
Exploring the Exotic Garden was a wonderful experience—the variety of plants was truly impressive, with some reaching massive, awe-inspiring sizes. The highlight, however, was visiting the grotto completely alone, with no other tourists around, and having a free guide to myself. It was by far the best experience I had in Monaco.

It was really beautiful and also gorgeous views over Monaco. Just know there are a lot of stairs down so you need to get up again aswell. Included in the ticket are also the caves and a small museum. Definitely worth a visit!

It is very interesting for visiting place with a lot of different types of plants. Some of them are exotic and you can’t see them in many places. There is a historical museum in the garden. I liked it a lot because in my opinion it was more children oriented and information that you can receive there is presented in a very attractive and easy way. The view from the garden is also breathtaking because the garden is located on a cliffside and you can see the whole Monaco from it. The only thing that I regret for is that we weren’t able to visit the cave because it was closed that time of the year.

Beautiful garden and costal view. 5euros to get in but is wort it every penny. Plants from all over the world, a small koi pound and a cave. Very quiet during extra season but gets crowds during season. Next door is the Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology.

By far one of my favorite gardens in a city that’s I’ve been to. Incredible views and an underground cave. Loads of cacti and succulents. I felt like I was on another planet. We bought a combo ticket which included entrance to the ocean museum.

Larvotto Beach is a popular man-made beach in Monaco, offering clear waters and a scenic promenade. It features twin coves with over 1,300 feet of pebbled shores along Avenue Princesse Grace. Visitors can enjoy beachside eateries, a playground area, watersports rentals, and a beach volleyball court. The shallow waters make it ideal for kids, and the beach is equipped with facilities, bars, and restaurants nearby.
Loved the beach! Beautiful, clean water with a lot of good vibes! Nice atmosphere, free public showers and toilets The beach has pebbles instead of sand so recommended to wear water shoes Bars, restaurants, café’s located around the beach

One of the best beaches in the world. Clean, no debris, crystal clear water with lots of fish, great pier to dive into the water. Good for kids & lots of beach side restaurants
Philipp T — Google review
This is a lovely spot! Just take a look at the photos, and you'll see the beautiful sandy beach, though there is some dirt in the water. The free showers are a nice touch. Benches are available for about 40€ per day. It’s a wonderful place for kids to play and for families to relax together.
Amir A — Google review
Plage du Larvotto in Monaco is one of those places that perfectly captures the idea of a beach in the city without losing its calm or charm. it’s not a sandy beach, which is actually a plus — no sticky sand everywhere, just smooth pebbles and a clean walkway. the water is super clear, calm, and very inviting, which makes it great for a swim even right next to the main promenade. everything feels well maintained and organized, just as you’d expect in monaco. along the beach you’ll find a nice selection of restaurants and cafés, all modern and stylish but not over the top. you can grab a proper lunch at neptune or miami plaje, or just stop for a coffee or aperol at one of the smaller places right by the water. it’s a great setup — you can spend the day there easily, moving between the beach and the cafés without ever feeling rushed. the whole area has been recently redone, and it shows. the promenade looks great, the facilities are clean, and the vibe is balanced between relaxed locals and visitors enjoying the view. even though it’s the main public beach, it never feels chaotic. overall, larvotto is easily one of the nicest city beaches around. clean water, easy access, good food, and no sand to deal with — it’s the kind of place you’ll always end up coming back to.
Arian R — Google review
The only public beach in Monaco, nice and accessible to go for a quick dip or lay all day in the sun. The beach bars and restaurants are on the beach, there is a lot of other content, like beach shops, some festivals etc. The sea is very dirty though.
Daniel — Google review
The beach it self is very clean and has a nice view. On the contrary, it is not very big, has almost no trees at all and is quite expensive.Ideal for the ones that like to experience a more luxorious beach experience, but the beaches in the nearby at the French coast are more family-friendly.
Petra S — Google review
The beach is fine, but honestly nothing special. Yes, the water is clear and the view with yachts is very “Monaco”, but the beach itself is pebbles - not the most comfortable if you’re not on a sunbed. Renting a lounger with an umbrella feels nice, but for the price you kind of expect more. It’s definitely clean and safe, but also crowded and not very relaxing

⸻ Review: Larvotto Beach – Serenity and Family Comfort in the Heart of Monaco Larvotto Beach, located in the heart of Monaco, is a beautifully maintained seaside spot that perfectly blends natural beauty with accessibility and comfort. Recently renovated, the beach offers a safe and welcoming environment for visitors of all ages — particularly families with children. The shoreline is a mix of soft gravel and sand, making it comfortable to walk and relax on. The calm, shallow waters are ideal for kids and casual swimmers, thanks to the protected bay structure that keeps the sea gentle even on windier days. What makes Larvotto Beach especially appealing is its easy access: it’s within walking distance from central Monaco, well-connected by public transport, and offers nearby parking. The promenade is flat and stroller-friendly, and the beach is equipped with clean public restrooms, showers, and facilities for people with reduced mobility. Along the seafront, you’ll find a variety of restaurants and cafés — perfect for a leisurely lunch, a quick bite, or simply enjoying a drink with a view. The area is peaceful, clean, and thoughtfully designed for a full day of seaside enjoyment. ⸻ Overall Verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Larvotto Beach is a must-visit for anyone in Monaco looking for a relaxing and family-friendly beach experience. With calm waters, convenient access, and great amenities, it’s an ideal spot for a pleasant day by the Mediterranean — highly recommended.

La Cave Turbiasque is a hidden gem that perfectly combines excellent cuisine with a welcoming atmosphere. Nestled near the picturesque La Turbie and the Riviera, this fabulous café offers a delightful dining experience. Guests rave about the freshly prepared dishes, including standout options like roasted fig with spec, goat cheese drizzled in honey, and hearty risotto paired with beef tagliata. The homemade chips are also a must-try!

Riviera Marriott Hotel La Porte de Monaco is a casual hotel with bright rooms and suites, an outdoor pool, a gym, and a restaurant with a bar. Located in Monaco, it offers comfortable accommodation at great value. Despite being technically in France, the hotel is strategically located near Monaco's attractions.
You can tell this hotel has a great management team! Awesome hotel, amazing location, great value but above all the staff were all top notch! They truly went above and beyond! The reception team, housekeeping, the bellman team, and the restaurant staff - all were very professional and hospitable! As an ambassador I received an upgraded room, we got early check-in and late checkout. We had a stunning view and the beach was less than 5 min walk!

Situated just outside (literally) of Monaco, this is a fine enough option but is slightly dated compared to surrounding options. The AC was broken in the whole place, something not mentioned on arrival. When we called about it later in the day, they said it was being worked on. Hours later when we asked again, they said repairs would be the next day and they could offer us a fan for the room. It just wasn’t going to work. To their credit, they were very nice about it and refunded the night when we found a nearby alternate (we were here for a few hours in the afternoon). We did utilize their shuttle to the train station, which was nice and convenient. We also went to the pool (because being in the room was miserable) and it was pleasant. I found the place to be nicer than some of the negative reviews give off, and if the AC worked it would have been a fine if not forgettable stay. Don’t be scared off - it’s a decent property.

Amazing staff and lovely food too. A little dated now and needs an overhaul but rooms are a great size, we had a harbour view which was fabulous and the free transfer to casino square is a very nice touch. It’s the staff though which really shine here though, all super attentive and friendly. I’ll definitely stay again ….hopefully Marriott will give it a lick of paint and change the carpets 😂
Dom V — Google review
The location, food and views are top notch. Friendly staff as well. The building and rooms are somewhat worn out and dated a bit though. The age of the facilities is apparent, especially in the rooms. The experience would be much better if they could give the building and rooms a modern refresh, fix the air conditioning, and change the old carpets on each floor. Overall, our experience of staying here is still unforgettable besides some small complaints. 👍
Raymond W — Google review
While the staff at this hotel were exceptionally friendly and diligent with daily cleaning, the property itself is in clear need of an update. The age of the facilities is apparent, especially in the rooms. Despite the staff's best efforts, the furnishings and fixtures, particularly in the bathroom, were worn and discolored, which is a stark contrast to the pristine, modern photos on the hotel's website. Ultimately, the property feels more like a solid 3-star hotel than the 4-star experience it advertises. For this reason, I believe the price is too high for the quality of the accommodation provided.

I am on my honeymoon and gave the front desk 90% of my clothes to wash under the impression they would be back in 24 hours. I am now informed they will be back two days later in the “evening” with no time table given. I know have had to wear dirty clothes on my honeymoon due to this laundry issue and no help or remedies where given to me. Never thought I would pay this much for a hotel on a honeymoon and not be able to properly told when my clothes would arrive back.

Disappointing Start at the Riviera Marriott La Porte de Monaco – Gorgeous View, but That’s About It (So Far) Our journey to Monaco was already off to a rough start. We missed our bus from Coimbra to Porto due to GPS misdirection and had to pivot last minute, walking to the train station to catch a train instead. Once we reached Porto airport, our flight was delayed over 2.5 hours. We landed in Nice just before midnight, completely wiped out. The one bright spot? Our Uber driver Sami—professional, kind, and ready for us at the airport. He got us to the Riviera Marriott La Porte de Monaco swiftly and with a smile. We wish we could say the same about the hotel experience. We arrived, ready to collapse into bed. But when we turned down what should’ve been a freshly made bed, we found sand in the sheets. At 3 AM. Yuck. We called the front desk and were told we could either wait 15–20 minutes for housekeeping to change the bedding, or move to a same-category room on a lower floor, with luggage assistance tomorrow. We opted for the room swap. At that hour, rest trumped everything else. Unfortunately, the next morning brought no follow-up, no accountability, no gesture of goodwill—just a lukewarm apology. For a Marriott Bonvoy property—especially one in such a prime location—that level of service is unacceptable. Let’s talk about the hotel itself: • The view? Absolutely gorgeous. You can see the marina and the sparkling water—it’s clear they rely heavily on that. • The rooms? Basic. Older. Worn. The second room we were given had a visibly damaged door frame—clearly kicked in at some point and hastily patched up. • The furnishings are random and don’t fit the space well. It feels like someone bought clearance pieces and threw them together, hoping the view would distract you. • If you’re looking for a clean, modern, aesthetically cohesive experience, this isn’t it. It’s not uncommon for beachfront properties in popular destinations to be a little weathered—they often don’t have to try very hard to keep bookings. Location, location, location. And had the welcome experience been warm, clean, and gracious, we might’ve chalked the rest up as typical for a busy coastal hotel. But you can’t give guests bad service AND dirty rooms. That’s a hospitality failure. We’ll be sharing a second review after we explore more of the hotel’s amenities and overall service throughout our stay. Hopefully, things turn around. Stay tuned. — ✈️ Traveled May 2025 | Property: Riviera Marriott La Porte de Monaco 🧳 Marriott Bonvoy Member

Worst Marriott Experience Ever – Shockingly Bad Stay I am a Platinum Bonvoy member and a frequent guest across Marriott properties, but this has easily been the worst experience I have ever had. I arrived late at night, only to be given room 1013, which was utterly disgusting. The moment I entered, I was hit with a horrible smell – like sewage – and the air conditioning was barely functioning, if at all. I immediately called reception, and it took them 30 minutes to send someone, who simply told me, “We can’t do anything about the smell.” Completely unacceptable. Frustrated, I went down to reception and encountered the rudest front desk staff I have ever met. “Martius” (a blonde-haired employee) was dismissive, sarcastic, and unprofessional – qualities that have no place in hospitality. After much back and forth, he reluctantly gave me another room. When I asked him if he was sure the AC worked and the room didn’t smell, his response was a sarcastic, “I guess so.” The second room was not much better – the AC was still barely functioning, which seems to be a problem throughout the hotel. Overall, the entire experience was unacceptable for a Marriott property. Poor service, poor maintenance, rude staff, and a complete disregard for loyal customers. I strongly advise against staying here. Marriott should seriously reconsider the management and service standards

Polpetta, named after the famous Italian meatballs, is a renowned restaurant in Monaco that has been a favorite of Prince Rainier III since its establishment in 1977. The restaurant offers a traditional Italian cuisine featuring specialties such as fish and meats like sea bass, bream, prawns, salmon, Chateaubriand, veal cutlet Milanese, and vitello tonnato.
Oh my goodness, I went here 10 days ago and I still can't stop thinking about how perfect the pasta was. Freshly cooked and amazing sauces for both the tagliatelle and the raviolis. You could smell the fresh herbs. The service was divine and our server was sweet and let us swap pastas and sauces. The Resturant it self was super cute on a hill. Dare I say, this is a do not miss in Monaco. It's cute, delicious, and you 100% will be thinking about it later!

Literally Monaco’s selection for good restaurants are limited. Even Amazonico is overpriced. We found this little gem near our Airbnb. Food from the beginning was on point. My seafood risotto was the hero. There’s more seafood than risotto. The portion is generous. The waitress was lovely and attentive. If you’re staying in Monaco don’t worry trying other fancy restaurants. Just keep coming back here!!!

Amazing hidden gem on the edge of Monoco, hidden in a neighborhood. Stopped here while walking to France to catch an Uber. Food was INCREDIBLE, we spoke in Italian (as best we could) to our waiter vs English, had an amazing goat cheese salad appetizer, seafood pasta (LOADED with Octopus, Prawns, Clamari, Mussels, and Clams, with virtually no fishy taste at all served with perfectly al dente linguini pasta) , a fantastic filet, a great bottle of wine and coffee (espresso) with biscotti. Most of the people were locals, except us, but we were so glad we stopped.

The feeling I walk away from with this place is not to judge a book by it's cover. The interior is not bad but rather unassuming. It can feel a little packed with how close the tables are placed. What it lacks in atmosphere it more then makes up for in the quality of the dishes. We had the sea bass for two and it was impeccable. The fish was perfectly seasoned and practically melted in our mouths. It is arguably the best sea bass we've had. The accompanying steamed vegetables were perfectly steamed with enough integrity to still have a bit of crunch without being soggy. The wine selection was fantastic and the posting we had was perfect. We finished with a slice of tiramisu that was nothing short of life changing. The food here is phenomenal. Tldr: try this place, you will absolutely love it

Food was very good however the service could be much better. We ordered food and the apps came within 15 mins wit bread and water which was amazing. We than had to wait over an hour and a half for the mains to be served. Not sure what happened but when we check with 2 waiters they just said ok and never came back with any answer. The owner saw my second attempt and came to us and said it’s coming. I have a feeling they forgot and nobody bothered to check. Am I going to come back….not in my life time . For tourist be cautious. They really treat locals and tourist differently. We were extremely polite during the entire process but wanted to make sure other tourist to be aware…/pity such decent food…i

Église de Sainte-Dévote is an 11th-century Catholic chapel in Monaco dedicated to Saint Devota, the patron saint of the country. The chapel offers a rich history and has undergone several renovations over the centuries, resulting in a captivating blend of architectural styles. It holds great significance as the bride of the Sovereign Prince traditionally places her bouquet there after the wedding ceremony. While dogs are not allowed within the church grounds, visitors can enjoy its rocky and flowery surroundings.
This is one Beautiful Spiritual Church, where I felt at Peace within myself. Very Spiritual despite the busy bustling of Monaco 🇲🇨. Indeed Very Holy and Quiet. The Best place for soul searching. Thank you for having such a place in such a Beautiful Country of Monaco.

Perched on the Rock of Monaco, Fort Antoine Theatre is a historic 18th-century fort that has been transformed into an open-air theater. Originally built as a fortress to protect Monaco during the Spanish War of Succession, it was reconstructed after being destroyed in World War II. The theater now hosts cultural performances amidst lush gardens and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. This serene venue beautifully combines art and history, making it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking both tranquility and artistic experiences.
Fort Antoine is definitely worth the detour during your visit or stay in Monaco. If you happen to be visiting during summer then you might be able to catch a show as well. The setting is truly phenomenal and the remarkable quality of the events will bring you closer to the region of Provence and the Principality itself. Fort Antoine is a former fortress of the beginning of the 18th century at the northeastern foot of the Monaco cliff on the shore of the bay, since 1954 it has been an open-air theater. On one of the walls of the theater-fort, a corner watchtower has been preserved. The auditoriums of the theater are located in the form of a semicircle and are designed for 350 seats. Every summer there is a street theater festival. The cliff offers a beautiful panoramic view of the port, the bay with yachts and the city. I was a victim of cyber stalking via cell phone. Monitoring my location, keystrokes, listening to conversations and looking through the camera lens etc... they also make up lies to make me look bad and so they can continue to track me. Trying to ruin my lively good. I recently was introduced to mcraespy and he was able to locate the stalker and handed her over to the police. I commend his effort. I know there are people going through such.

Once was a military fort and now an open-air theater, Fort Antoine is located at the northeastern tip of Le Rocher. Enjoy a warm summer evening incredible performances under a starry sky. There is room for around 350 spectators and all performances are in French and free to the public (although you must book a seat first). We recommend that you arrive early to be able to enjoy the view of the French Riviera coastline that stretches all the way to Italy.

Brilliant viewpoint over Monaco. I believe the Fort is sometimes used for theatre so may not always be accessible. However, if it is, it is an excellent spot for photos looking back at Monaco and its harbour. I would recommend coming here both during the day and at night to see Monaco lit up.

Les Santons is a pizzeria with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The pizza is excellent, with a lot of variety to choose from. The service is impeccable, and the restaurant is located away from the busy and noisy main street of La Turbie, making it a perfect place for a relaxing evening out.
We had an absolutely delightful experience at this beautiful location. From the stunning surroundings to the delectable food and exceptional service, every aspect surpassed our expectations. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and will undoubtedly return in the future. Thank you for making our evening memorable!

My husband and I had a lovely experience here. Even though we didn’t book a table, a very nice lady managed to accommodate us, despite it got very busy. The staff were friendly yet professional. They offered us help with the translation of the menu. I ordered a sea bass which they didn’t have in the end, so the waiter recommended me grilled octopus which was delicious. My husband’s steak had a lot of fat on it hence why only 4* food rating. Otherwise everything was great and I would happily come back. The stuff were extremely busy although managing it brilliantly. Thank you guys and well done for doing a great job 👏

We came here for lunch but they just closed the kitchen - yet they were nice to accommodate us with a pizza for our kids. The pizza was authentic and crust superb - price was reasonable and they have a terrace overlooking the tennis court. Highly recommended when in this part of town.

We dropped by searching for a late dinner and were not disappointed! First off, such as beautiful location! The atmosphere was very cosy. Professional and friendly staff - exceptional service. The food was one of the best I’ve had. Seafood was fresh and the truffle pizza was delicious. Beautiful presentation and good portions. Definitely worth a visit, prices are slightly above average but that was expected.

One of our favourite meals of the trip. We called 30 mins before we wanted to come for a dinner on a Saturday night and they did their best to fit us in. We ordered the calamari salad (which was a little cold when it arrived) and a prosciutto and cheese Pizza which was excellent. They took care of all our requests and also have a really good chilli oil. For mains we had the veal and the gamberas linguini. Both were excellent The dessert which was recommended was the pavlova. However it was probably our least favourite part of the night. The service was attentive, with good conversation and provided a great overall experience.

Nice welcome to this family cosy restaurant. The dishes were quite large and the presentation beautiful. The atmosphere was the best as you could really feel that everyone there was having a good time and that gave the restaurant a very good vibe. Also being at the top of the hill made it peaceful and airy. A truly nice experience overall.

Fort de la Revere, located in Eze, is a historical gem offering stunning panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Nice. Built in 1878 to protect the region, this hidden fortress is a favorite picnic spot for locals. Although not accessible to visitors, you can still admire its medieval features such as limestone walls and cells by walking around it.
Fort de la Revère: History and Significance Fort de la Revère is located in the heights of the Èze commune, between Nice and Monaco, at an altitude of approximately 700 meters above sea level. Its construction was completed in 1885 as part of the Séré de Rivières fortification system, developed to protect France after the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. During World War I, the fort served as an important observation and communication post, monitoring movements along the Mediterranean coast. In World War II, it was occupied by German forces and used for regional control. After the war, the fort lost its military significance and gradually fell into disrepair. Today, Fort de la Revère is part of Parc de la Grande Corniche, a protected natural area offering stunning views of the French Riviera and the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors can explore the remains of the fort, including its underground tunnels and artillery positions, which provide a glimpse into history while enjoying breathtaking panoramic landscapes. Thus, Fort de la Revère stands as a significant historical monument, blending its military past with the natural beauty of the region.

Fort de la Revère is one of the most breathtaking spots on the French Riviera. Perched high above the sea, it offers a panoramic view stretching from Monaco to Cannes. The old military fort adds a touch of history, while the surrounding park is peaceful, filled with the scent of pine and wild herbs. Perfect for hiking, picnics, or just clearing your mind. Easy to reach from Èze or La Turbie — and absolutely worth the climb.

Tête de Chien is a 550-meter rocky promontory that offers breathtaking panoramic views of Monaco and the sea. It features hiking trails, including the Tete de Chien circuit, a six-kilometer loop with an elevation gain of 550 meters, making it ideal for nature enthusiasts. Accessible from Monaco via the Basse Corniche, this intermediate-level trail provides stunning coastal views.
What a view , and not too difficult to reach it if you have a car . Note that you need to park a few hundred meters away from the viewpoint, as the final section of the road is restricted, but it once you reach your destination, le Tete, you will not be disappointed.

Église Saint-Michel de La Turbie is a unique 18th-century church located near medieval walls and Roman ruins. It has intricate tile details and is classified as a Historic Monument. The church features sober lines, ancient paintings, a marble high altar, and an agate and onyx communion table. Its exterior architecture resembles that of the church in Menton. Thomas H — Google review
(Translated by Google) The Église Saint-Michel de La Turbie is a charming Baroque church that stands amidst the narrow streets of La Turbie, almost like a well-kept secret. As soon as I get closer, I am impressed by the light, warm ocher tone of the facade, which stands out so beautifully against the blue sky and the lush green of the surrounding area. A simple round window towers over the entrance portal, and the details of the facade almost look like artistic lace made of stone - fine lines and ornaments that seem much older than I would have expected. When I enter, I am immediately surrounded by the silence and coolness of the old walls. The church was built in the 18th century and is dedicated to the Archangel Michael, the village's patron saint. Inside it is surprisingly spacious, and my eye immediately falls on the magnificent altar, which is surrounded by artistic statues and images of saints. The colors and decorations have the attention to detail typical of the Baroque period - sumptuous and yet somehow cozy, as if this was a place of security for the community. Above the altar is an impressive statue of the Archangel Michael, depicted in a typical pose with a sword and shield. It is said that the residents of La Turbie revere him as the protector of their village and celebrate a festival in his honor every year on St. Michael's Day. Beautiful frescoes and paintings depicting biblical scenes hang on the walls, and the intricately carved wooden chairs and confessionals testify to a long tradition and craftsmanship preserved here. What is special about this church is not only its beauty, but also its location - it is located on a kind of high plateau, and from the church square you have a fantastic view of the Mediterranean and Monaco below. The Église Saint-Michel has stood here for centuries, a silent witness to the life, history and faith journeys of the people of La Turbie. When I leave the church and step onto the square in front of the entrance, I realize why they chose this place - the Église Saint-Michel combines heavenly tranquility with a view that seems equally timeless. A special and fascinating feature of the Église Saint-Michel de La Turbie is its exceptional acoustics. The special construction and the use of limestone for the walls, which reflect sounds, create an impressive reverberation inside the church. This sound makes choir performances and music particularly impressive and gives every mass a unique atmosphere. This is one of the reasons why the Église Saint-Michel is the central location for music events and choir concerts in La Turbie. During the festivals that take place here annually in honor of the Archangel Michael, the church's acoustics are used to present the service and traditional songs in a sound that fills the entire room and puts visitors in an almost meditative mood. As of September 21, 2023 *I didn't achieve some things.

This restaurant has the best view of the in La Turbie. The service was on the slow side, but was generally pleasant. The downside of the experience was the food. The starter salad and olives were nice, but I had the lasagna and my wife had pizza, of which, neither were good. The lasagna was very heavy on the cheese, but lacked layers and structure that would be expected of a lasagna. The depth of the flavor was missing. The pizza was lackluster as well. I would recommend to come for a drink and admire the view, but there are better food options in town.

We chose this place for our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner. It was really nice, lasagna was the best! Husband took burger but he did not mention and no one asked about well cooked or no, so it was completely cooked and wasn’t that great. Another surprise was that he tried to surprise with some small gesture and asked waiter for some cake and candle or smth but got answer that it’s not possible. 10 min later they did it for someone’s birthday.. so all small things related with service gave us impression that it’s not exactly a service, but amazing lasagna, drinks and atmosphere saved it!

Excellent little restaurant for a quick lunch, well priced lunch menu and fresh ingredients. The quality delighted us, the service was quick and friendly, we would definitely come again. Way better than the expensive 4.7 star restaurant we went to the night before, the reviews are deceiving.

Food was very tasty, a proper breakfast / brunch. It was pretty busy but the service was good. We came here because it seemed to be popular with the locals, and now we can see why. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite to eat.

That’s some serious service we got. We came on the bike in a hurry. The waiter was super friendly but the kitchen was still closed. He cooked up a perfect quick meal which tasted delicious. And even filled our water bottles without asking. Just as a nice gesture. Super!!!

Lovely place to eat. I had a beautiful steak, chips and salad. Friendly staff who spoke English. My steak was beautifully cooked. Good atmosphere. Service did take a while to ask for desserts. Would go back.

Nice place with really good food and fast service. Dog friendly too. The person who served us was very kind and patient with our dog too. Good price also.

Good place to feel the workers and people of Turbie. Not fake. Real life. Could be a bit better with the kitchen but I'm not complaining. Always full of cyclist's who are climbing up the mountain from seaside. Taking a brake here. A few meters from the bistro is a little useful service point for the bikes.

The waiter messed up the orders, did not apologize in any way.

Recently redone, le Bistrot de Banville (ex Le Provençal) is my favorite. The owner gave the place a new look while respecting the old stones. The staff is very friendly and will engage in conversations with locals. Always an interesting experience. Not only the place works in the morning as a regular cafe, but it serves delicious lunches as well.

La Table Gourmande - Barbera is a delightful surprise with its excellent service and high-quality products that make you forget about its roadside location. Visitors have enjoyed a variety of dishes, including sushi, burgers, fries, and pizza. The friendly staff and beautiful setting add to the fantastic experience. Despite being in a roadside location, the restaurant offers good food at reasonable prices with excellent service.
Very nice place! Took with friends a little bit from everything- sushi, burger, fries, soup etc. All was good, especially we liked sushi! For sure recommend. Only thing what surprised was aperol spritz for 11.50 eur - most expensive one so far in our eurotrip, but because food prices was more than fine, also did not feel this price so much. Compliments to staff that we came last minute but still allowed us to order food!

Would never visit again!! They charged me 2,40€ for Water !!! They charged it on the bill as "Boisson" This is ridiculous.. Food is just okay !! Additionally, they were cleaning the restaurant while we were eating and making so much noise as if they wanted to tell us to "finish your meals and leave asap"
