The Centaurus Mall is an iconic landmark in Islamabad. Its stunning architecture and vast array of stores—from local to international brands—make it a premier shopping destination. The mall offers a complete experience with a Cinepax cinema, a fun-filled Fun City for kids, and a diverse food court. While it can get crowded on weekends, the clean facilities and friendly staff ensure a pleasant visit. It’s a must-visit for families and tourists alike.
Mohammad I — Google review
Centaurus Mall is housed in a very beautiful and iconic building — definitely one of the standout structures in Islamabad. However, despite its grand exterior, the mall itself feels quite small and congested inside. During my visit, the air conditioning was not working properly, which made the experience uncomfortable. Even in the parking area, the heat was noticeable. Interestingly, the only place where the cooling was actually effective was inside the mosque — which, by the way, is beautifully designed and very peaceful. One major downside was the behavior of the security staff, especially the female staff at the entrance and exit points. Their attitude was quite rude and unprofessional, which leaves a bad impression right at the start. Overall, while the building and mosque are impressive, the management seriously needs to improve crowd handling, air conditioning, and staff training to provide a better experience.
Tanveer K — Google review
I recently visited Centaurus Mall in Islamabad and had a mixed experience. The mall offers plenty of parking space, which makes it convenient for visitors arriving by car. Inside, you can find almost all major brands under one roof, along with a good variety of food outlets. However, one major drawback is the lack of stairs for public access, which means you have to wait around 15–20 minutes for the lifts, especially during busy hours, this can be quite frustrating. Another thing I noticed is that most of the products in the stores are overpriced, except for the food places which are reasonably priced. Overall, Centaurus Mall is a great spot for shopping and dining, but it would be much better if they improved accessibility between floors and offered more fair pricing across stores.
Faraz K — Google review
The Centaurus Mall in Islamabad is a well-known shopping and entertainment complex praised for its extensive variety of local and international brands, a modern architectural design, and diverse dining options ranging from casual cafes to fine dining. It features more than 250 shops across four floors, a food court with many vendors, a multiplex cinema with four screens, and an amusement/play area for children called Fun City, making it popular for families and tourists alike.
Aamir K — Google review
The best mall in Islamabad. Wide variety of food options with great deals and diversity of clothes shops and other accessories. You can visit in the day or at night with family or friends. The whole mall is air conditioned and lots of parking space. I got deal for 4 from howdies and later loaded fries.
Fassih A — Google review
Huge mall with beautiful architecture.. Loved the shops in there.. Food court has all the options from economical to premium and luxurious atmosphere.. Loved the variett of outlets available that I haven't seen in other cities of Pakistan, for instance chinese restaurants like Kim mun and giyanki.. 🥰🥰 However, found their staff a bit uninformed. We were checking Tim Hortons but weren't sure if there's one inside the mall. One of staff guided us that it's on first floor. We wemt there but there was none. We crosschecked and another staff said there is no outlet with this name inside the mall 😒 P.s. loved the amazing biards outside a number of outlets... A biryani outlet for their discount said: Daigh magar piyaar se 😁😁😁

Shah Faisal Mosque, built in 1987, is a contemporary icon designed to resemble a Bedouin tent. Located at the foothills of Maragalla hills, it is one of Pakistan's largest mosques and the third largest globally. With a capacity for 300,000 worshippers, it features Turkish architectural styles with four tall minarets and an Arab tent-shaped prayer hall.
Faisal Mosque, located in the heart of Islamabad, is a place where spirituality, beauty and tranquility come together. The constructions and unique architecture here automatically take the heart towards the greatness of Allah. Its view among the mountains is so beautiful that one cannot help but stop for a moment and think. Cleanliness, peaceful environment, spacious premises and the spiritual atmosphere during prayer times — everything is unparalleled. This place is not just a mosque, it is a feeling. Everyone who visits Islamabad must visit here. This place really deserves more than 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Awais S — Google review
Wonderful building, stunning architecture. This is one of the most beautiful mosques you're likely to visit. This mosque diversifies itself from the traditional curvature structures to more straight lines and angles which Muslim architecture has seen in the past, the Alhambra Palace in Spain, as an example. Before anyone corrects me, the architect was White European, nevertheless, his finished design doesn't detract from its beauty as a mosque in this 21st century. We'll worth a visit. Surrounded by mountains as a backdrop, it's cinemaesque in its setting.
Tariq K — Google review
The Mosque itself is truly an architectural gem and one of Islamabad’s most iconic landmarks. The grand structure, set against the backdrop of the Margalla Hills, leaves you in awe from the moment you arrive. There’s no entrance fee, so anyone can visit and admire its stunning design and peaceful atmosphere. You will find plenty of taxis waiting in the parking lot, though it’s often more convenient (and sometimes cheaper) to book your own ride through apps like Yango. Visitors should note that shorts are not allowed if you plan to enter the main prayer area — access is usually limited to prayer times only. While the mosque’s beauty remains timeless, some of the walkways are in a dilapidated state and could use maintenance, so watch your step during your visit. Despite that, the overall experience is serene and spiritually refreshing — definitely worth a visit for anyone exploring Islamabad.
Zain S — Google review
Faisal Masjid located in Islamabad is amazing place to visit. The site is a big tourist place and sacred religious place as well. Its architecture and design is marvelous especially the minarets which enhance its beauty. The site is full of worshippers and tourists every time. It has spacious yard and big room for prayer. Moreover outside of the mosque there are stalls of different items. Transport is available 24/7. Highly recommended to visit
Mujeeb R — Google review
Shah Faisal Masjid, located in Islamabad, Pakistan, is one of the largest mosques in the world, featuring a unique blend of modern and Islamic architecture. The location is next to the Margalla Hills is an amazing sight you won't forget. If you come to Islamabad, you must visit. It's truly a beautiful and peaceful experience. Dress respectfully.
Muhammad S — Google review
🕌 My Visit to Faisal Mosque, Islamabad — Honest Review Faisal Mosque is truly the heart of Islamabad — peaceful, majestic, and beautifully designed. It’s not just a mosque but a symbol of Pakistan’s beauty and spirituality. The view of the mosque with the Margalla Hills in the background is absolutely stunning, especially around sunset or after Maghrib when the lights come on. The architecture is modern yet spiritual, with its large white structure and pointed minarets standing out against the sky. The interior is spacious and calm, perfect for prayer and reflection. Even if you’re not coming to pray, it’s worth visiting just to admire the structure and feel the serene environment. A very useful tip — bring a shopper (plastic bag) with you to keep your chappals or shoes, because footwear is not allowed inside the mosque. There are shoe stands outside, but it’s much safer and more convenient to carry your own in a small bag, especially when the place is crowded. This way, you won’t have to worry about finding your shoes later. The mosque area is clean, well-maintained, and open to visitors of all kinds — families, tourists, and worshippers. There are also lawns and viewpoints nearby where you can sit and enjoy the view or take photos. The atmosphere is peaceful, and you can really feel a sense of calm once you step inside. Parking is available, and usually free, though it can get busy during Jumma prayers or on weekends. Modest dressing is recommended, especially for tourists, as it’s an active place of worship. Overall, Faisal Mosque is a must-visit landmark if you’re in Islamabad — not just for its beauty, but for the spiritual and cultural experience it offers. ⭐ My Rating: 5/5 ✅ Beautiful architecture ✅ Peaceful and spiritual environment ✅ Clean and well-maintained ❌ Footwear not allowed (bring a shopper!) ❌ Gets crowded on weekends Still, it’s one of the most iconic and peaceful places in Pakistan — definitely worth the visit!

location is at the base of Margalla hills , The Mosque was named after saudi king faisal who helped funding the project . It is now cultural and identity landmark for pakistan . It is still one of the biggest mosque in the world . The Design is unfamiliar , not having usual islamic dome , but tent shaped top , designed by turkish architect . the manpower who built it are all pakistani . Inside vast space , can fit to thousends of worshippers , there is big area around mosque , people can walk and sit there . The washing area is downstairs . Parking area available . Mosque is a place for worship and spiritual needs , but also can bring people together and gives identity and special pattern to city history and community .

Safa Gold Mall offers a sleek, modern shopping experience with its central location in Islamabad with ample parking, and diverse retail mix, spanning luxury brands, high-street staples, and niche brands like Khaadi, sapphire, and limelight etc etc. Also they have some kids friendly perks like playing area, arcade. It will need a whole day to explore the mall while you are with your family. They also need to improve few things like the signage boards, toilets and the high prices of mix retail stores other than brands. Hope they will improve and take the feedback positively. Thanks

Very good and cosy mall, not too many people and you have mostly everything you need. I frequently visit Adidas , Nike or Cambridge for clothes since they are all imported and last a long time but there is no shortage of local brands as well. There are soo many discounts in this mall and that is another reason to go here. Parking is a nightmare so bring a driver or park far away, if your lucky you can get parking in the malls areas if not then you have to do some cardio.

Named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, this marketplace offers a wide range of shops catering to various needs and preferences. Good place to start the day with family and friends with food. The price is higher as Sage restaurant takes extra money 5%tax and extra 206Rs serving charges which is not acceptable. The CDA concerned authorities to check out the overbilling and extra charges of these restaurants like SAGE and others especially..

F-7, Jinnah Super Market is one of the oldest and best market + food + hang-out destination in Islamabad. It gives a good mix of upscale, local, modern and traditional. If you accept paying a bit more for comfort and variety, it’s hard to beat. For people who are budget-conscious, some parts might feel expensive.

No doubt their mandi is the best, U can get different meat options, and spice and non-spice both platters. Their bbq is really delicious They have the best taste in mandi. But they have limited options for those who don't eat rice. Also their mutton yakhni is too good. Their hummus is not too good. But at F-7 branch you usually don't get the sitting, either u have to wait or you can go to the GT road branch.

The Pakistan Monument in Islamabad stands like a blooming flower, its towering petals embracing the sky, a silent ode to unity and sacrifice. Each curve, each shadow, whispers the story of a nation carved from dreams and resilience. Beneath its vast canopy, the air hums with the unspoken prayers of those who walked before us, their struggles immortalized in stone. As the sun sets, the monument glows like a guardian of memories, reminding all who stand before it that history is not merely written—it is felt, in the pulse of the land and the beating hearts of its people.

I think this is the best place to visit in Islamabad specially for people in age group 45 and onwards, people who have witnessed very clean Islamabad. The models and statues are of very high quality showing how this country was made. Makes you emotional how much sacrifices were made to have this country. There was so much enthusiasm and hope for this country but unfortunately the government has been hijacked by Armed forces unlike India where Armed forces were kept outside of politics. May Allah give someone like Imran Khan lead this country to progress and let the people have fair opportunity to make this country progress upwards and onwards.

Captain Cook's is not just a favorite eatery, but it also holds cherished memories from the past. During university days, after moving to Islamabad from Quetta, it became the first place to visit every day with friends. Recently, a delightful dinner was enjoyed there with esteemed parents. This popular food spot in Islamabad offers delectable dishes at reasonable prices. The steaks are perfectly cooked and served with delicious sauces. Children particularly enjoy the burgers and Fish n Chips.
One of my favourite food places in Islamabad. Food is yummy, tasty with reasonably priced as well. Steaks are very good cooked to perfection with appropriate sauces, burgers are liked by my children, Fish n Chips as well 👌👌. Nice peaceful environment, fish aquariums in the back ... children love it and stay busy there as well.

A bit disconnected from the past Not a bad place. It seems that people are still coming to this place after such a long time. It looks as if the name has remained, but the staff might have changed (not sure if that is the case) it’s just that it does not seem to be the same place as it used to be. Does not give you that flash back moment when you enter. Used to visit this place once in a while long time back. It used to be a very nice place with good burgers but now it has evolved (not sure if for the best). Fast food joints are meant to be fast but this one takes its sweet time. They have also added more items on the menu which seem to be liked by people. While it used to be one of the good places around but now it seems like an ok place with less similar options to compete. The good thing is that it has managed to survive while others have gone. This place has stood there while others have left. It reminds you of the old times but does not give you the feel of those moments. It’s not a bad place

Street quality food minus the taste. Then place can use a bit of cleaning up. It is infested with rats. How this place is still open is beyond me. Also, a burger isn't supposed to have a meetha bun in it. Yes, the prices are good, but that doesn't excuse the lack of hygiene and the rats.

Well changing decor does not warrant good food. This time around when I ordered the same dish I have been ordering before it came under cooked and was smelly. If it is now under a new management they really need to pick their cooks carefully. Exercise caution when you order food here people if you have been an old customer.

Khiva has a great menu card for those who love traditional food, may it be Pashtun, Balochi, Mughlai, Central Asian or the like. After seeing their menu card, one may like to order so many things.... there is such a great choice available. Service as well as staff behaviour is very helpful and nice. Standard of cooking may vary a little though on different days. I guess with such a huge menu, it is not possible to cook everything well. I will seriously suggest to the management to reduce dishes on the menu. It's difficult to maintain top quality with such a wide variety of dishes. Roof top offers nice sitting at night.

My recent dining experience left me thoroughly impressed and eager to share my praise for this culinary gem. offers a gastronomic journey that surpasses expectations in every aspect. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with an ambiance that perfectly balanced sophistication and comfort. The warm lighting, stylish decor, and inviting atmosphere set the stage for what would be an unforgettable meal.

We were here in November 2017, yes, 4 year ago😁😀😊 I found some photos I took with my phone back then. Honestly, I am a person don’t like to eat lamb and beef. Pork, chicken and fish are the main proteins I have in my life. We went here the second day after we arrived Islamabad. When our host told us he’d like to treat us with the lamb here, I said to myself, okay, I could pick some veggies and rice or naan to eat. People around the table encouraged me to try the lamb and said I would like it. And they were absolutely right! I had my first bite, wow, delicious. The meat was juicy and tender and tasted like chicken with no strange smell. Except the brain dish, I tasted almost everything on the table. Their yogurt was incredible👍

Ginyaki, situated in F-7 Markaz, Islamabad, offers a delightful dining experience with its affordable yet delicious Chinese and Thai cuisine. The restaurant has revolutionized oriental dining by introducing single-serving bowls and a vibrant ambiance. With a diverse menu featuring chicken, beef, and seafood dishes, Ginyaki provides an array of options for guests to customize their meals.
One of the best chow mein/ noodles in twin cities. We in family like smoking hot flavour.

"I've visited Ginyaki multiple times, and every experience has been good. The ambiance is always great, and the staff's behavior and cutlery are top-notch. However, I've noticed that the food quality isn't as exceptional as it used to be. With increasing competition in the market, Ginyaki needs to focus on improving their dishes to regain their top spot."

Order for following delivery Hot n sour Soup, Thai Soup, Beef chilli dry chowmin, Fish n Chip, BBQ Wings. Food delivery was good with same Pakistani issue with rider that he never wanted to give a change- its usual experience. Thai soup was disappointing and advice is no go area for all of you see my video. Beef chilli dry was not at all dry rather soaked in oil and beef was probably dipped in tons of flour to add weight and volume, i wish it could have been same as shown in Google map menu above. Only thing i would like about Ginyaki is ..Soup and Food was Hot and in good packing. Definitely a No Go for Future. Thanks Google for Giving independent Expression

Extremely Disappointed, Ginyaki Isn’t What It Used to Be. Me and my friends went to Ginyaki for dinner today and I honestly have no words to describe how disappointed we were. Ginyaki has always been one of my comfort spots and their Korean Spicy Chicken used to be my favorite meal for a long time. But this time it was completely different. The dish had no real flavor and was only full of spice. It felt like eating plain red or green chilies with no actual taste or seasoning. It used to be so good but now it just tastes harsh and bland at the same time. The curry also tasted off and the flavor was very strange. I even asked the server if they had changed their chef because it really seemed like someone new and inexperienced had cooked it. I also requested that the rice and curry be served separately but the server did not follow that either which added to the disappointment. My friends ordered Chinese Honey Chicken and Mongolian Beef but both dishes were equally bad. My friend who ordered the Honey Chicken even said, “Why did you waste so much money bringing us here?” and I completely agreed. Ginyaki used to be one of my favorite restaurants but after tonight it felt like a completely different place with bland food and careless service. I really hope they bring back the old taste and quality that made Ginyaki special before.

This is a LONG REVIEW of Ginyaki Our recent family dinner ( 13 persons) at Ginyaki was a delightful surprise! The restaurant's revamped management personnel is a game-changer, resulting in prompt and efficient service that met our expectations. With a nostalgic nod to its pioneering bowl-style dishes and innovative sauces, Ginyaki has reclaimed its spot as a favorite for me and my folks. After a rough patch post-pandemic, it was a breath of fresh air to see the restaurant bounce back with renewed vigor. The deluxe bowls are back, and they've added some exciting new flavors to the menu. Here's a rundown of what we tried: Appetisers : * Korean BBQ loaded fries ( a major hit for all 10/10) * classic dumplings 🥟 🥟 * finger fish * soups : hot n sour , Chicken , and Schezuan soup Mains with a side of rice and noodles: * chicken chilli ( as good as ever, always a hit) * crispy beef ( have improved it again 9/10) * beef basil ( this was mid for my friend ) * Crispy Honey Chicken (9/10) * Bang Bang Chicken (10/10) * Cashewnut Chicken (10/10) * Dragon Chicken(9/10) Overall, Ginyaki's renewed focus on quality and service has us hooked all over again. I really hope and pray they remain consistent !

Honestly yum! I went there yesterday on my birthday. We had american suey noodles. Dumplings (one set fried and one set steamed) and fish. My favourite was the dumplings the noodles had a lot of oil tho that’s the only thing I can critique. And the staff were polite and helpful with the service. Also gave small plate of salad and nuts at the start which was nice. Overall a good experience will come again.

Excellent food and excellent environment. Start with their soups, they're really good. The appetizers are amazing, and offer an incredible range of items to choose from. The main entrées have an awesome spectrum of options, and the taste and sizes of the portion are quite fulfilling. One place that never disappoints! ChinaTown Islamabad Dinner: szechuan soup which was VERY GOOD! chicken chowmein was fresh unlike other places Chinese rice with kung pao chicken, beef scallion and thai green curry. The thai curry was too good and the rice were fresh too! The dhaka fish and gai satay were really good too! Pepper fish = winner Three desserts only but all great in taste. Mango mousse, cheese cream puff pastry and vanilla cake. Unlimited drinks mint lemonade, mango lassi Unlimited tea and green tea. All in 1195+ I'd say the best buffet in islamabad right now! Great service, economical, menu, quality of food and ambience! 9/10

The Monal Islamabad is one of those places you visit not only for the food, but for the complete experience. The panoramic view of Islamabad from the top of Margalla Hills is unmatched — especially around sunset or night when the city lights come on. The food is consistently good, portions are decent, and there’s a good variety in the menu for almost every taste (Pakistani, BBQ, Continental etc.). Service is generally fast considering how busy the place usually is, and the staff is polite and attentive. Parking and getting up the hill can get crowded, especially on weekends, so it’s better to go a bit early. Reservations are also recommended on peak days. Overall — great ambiance, good food, excellent views — worth visiting with family or friends.

This is a very good hotel, I can't praise it enough Great view, great management and service. Despite being so busy on a weekend, they managed it well. Hats off to the management. Not only did we get parking easily, but the table was also free. They have deployed their staff from a 3 km range to help and guide the traffic and keep it in the lane. We tried their fish and sandwiches. The taste was also good.

Qadeer R — Google review
The Monal Restaurant Here’s a summary review of The Monal Restaurant in Islamabad — what made it special, what its drawbacks were, and where things stand now. --- ✅ What people liked The view: Many reviewers gush about the panoramic view of Islamabad you get while dining at The Monal — a major draw. Ambience & location: The hill-top setting (on the Margalla Hills National Park / Pir Sohawa area) built a memorable, almost “destination restaurant” feel. Diverse menu & good food (some reports): Several reviews say the menu was extensive (Pakistani + international) and some dishes stood out. Service & amenities: Parking/valet help, outdoor seating, family-friendly setups were often noted positively. --- ⚠️ What people complained about Price: Many felt it was expensive, especially compared to local options. Food & service inconsistencies: Some users reported slower service, or food not matching expectations. > “Tbh it will be waste of ur time and money if u r considering visiting monal one last time… Monal disappointed us so much…” Crowds & waiting: Because of its popularity, there were complaints about long wait times and difficulty getting tables without reservation. Environmental & location concerns: There were criticisms that the restaurant’s setting on protected land was problematic. --- 🕒 Current status The restaurant announced closure of its Islamabad location on 11 September 2024 following a court order related to its operation within the national park. Because of this, it’s not entirely clear whether the original location is still operating in the same capacity. Some sources say it was demolished. If you plan to visit, I strongly recommend confirming its operational status before going. --- 🎯 My verdict If I had to give a rating based on user feedback: Ambience & location: 9/10 — excellent setting. Food & value: 6–7/10 — good in places, but some inconsistency and pricey. Service & experience: 7/10 — generally positive, but the crowd and wait times were a drawback. If it were still operating exactly as before, I’d say: Excellent place for a special occasion (especially for the view), but not necessarily the best for everyday casual meal (given cost and waiting). Given the closure announcement though, check current status. --- If you like, I can check for any alternative restaurants in Islamabad with similar views (and maybe better value) and send you a short list. Do you want that?

Really a beautiful and stunning place in Islamabad. You will get a stunning view of the whole city and it is very exciting to watch from there. Mostly it is smoggy from over this point but it is worth it visiting there. You can see a few international tourists there and you can get a chance to meet and greet them and have some pictures. There is a small restaurant also available here and a snack shop. Please visit this place at 5 to 8 PM as it is hot and very sunny in afternoon. Melody Food Park is a charming food street situated in G-6 Markaz, near the Muslim Commercial Bank. It features over 20 local restaurants offering authentic Pakistani cuisine at affordable prices. One of the popular eateries, Jahangir, is known for its delicious chicken and mutton karahi along with perfectly grilled reshmi kebabs. The environment is pleasant and tidy, providing a glimpse into the genuine culture of Islamabad.

Very old food street, but it needs a good renovation plus in case of hot weather or rain, there is no such sitting to eat comfortably, available different options to eat like savour, biryani, BBQ, sarso ka dal and makai roti. Some staff is so good behavior but mostly are rude. Some stalls are not even hygiene because of dogs and cats. No washroom facility nearby.

Nestled in the heart of Islamabad, the Lok Virsa Heritage Museum stands as a vibrant testament to Pakistan's rich cultural tapestry. This expansive ethnology museum, officially known as the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, invites visitors on an immersive journey through the country's diverse traditions and artistic expressions. With its extensive collection of artifacts ranging from traditional costumes and musical instruments to intricate pottery and textiles, each exhibit offers a glimpse into the daily lives and customs of various ethnic communities across Pakistan.
A Cultural Treasure Worth Visiting! Lok Virsa Museum is a beautiful place to explore the rich and diverse culture of Pakistan. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged, showcasing traditional art, crafts, music, and heritage from all regions of the country. It’s a great learning experience for both locals and tourists. The only downside is that the indoor area can get quite hot, especially during summer, as there’s limited air conditioning or ventilation. Still, it’s absolutely worth a visit — just try to go in the morning or cooler months for the best experience.

We had a great experience visiting the Lok Visa Heritage Museum. The exhibits were fascinating and well-curated. However, the air conditioning inside the museum could be improved for better comfort. Additionally, the food available outside the museum could be of better quality, especially considering the relatively high prices. Enhancing both comfort and value would make the overall experience even better.

It is a good place to visit especially on festive days. It has a huge museum and statues and artifacts showcasing Pakistan's rich culture and history. The museum sadly has no AC, so it's very hot. The place has bookshops and other merchants and artists as well. Overall a nice place. I feel that adding Pakistani scientists statues is important.
Faysal K — Google review
Great experience. The museum is well maintained and the models are well finished and of high grade accuracy. When i visited the central cooling system was not working and some of th relics area were undergoing repair and maintenance.

The Lok Virsa Museum in Islamabad is a wonderful place to learn about Pakistan’s rich culture and traditions. Located at Shakarparian Hills, the museum has many galleries that show our local crafts, colorful clothes, musical instruments, pottery, woodwork, and jewelry from all parts of the country. The section about Sufi saints is very special, with beautiful art and poetry that touches the heart. I really liked the life-sized displays of village homes and workshops—it felt like stepping into history. The museum is very family-friendly. There is plenty of parking space, and you can easily spend a few hours here with kids. There are food stalls nearby, lots of trees for shade, and benches where you can sit and relax. Sometimes there are cultural shows and festivals that make the visit even more fun. I didn’t take photos inside because I wanted to respect the place and it’s rules. A great place for families, students, and anyone who loves our culture!

A great mystical atmosphere, architecture and historical significance.. well managed, cleaned and comfort.. It's a beautiful and historically rich landmark to explore.
Roohi M — Google review
Lok Virsa, located near Shakarparian Hills in Islamabad, is Pakistan’s premier cultural museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing the country’s rich folk heritage, traditions, and history. The complex includes the **Heritage Museum**, the **Sufi and Shrine Hall**, outdoor exhibits, and performance spaces. It’s a must-visit for anyone wanting to explore the diversity of Pakistan’s culture in one place. From the moment you enter, the ambiance feels warm and deeply rooted in tradition. The architecture reflects rural and historic styles, with open courtyards, mud-plastered walls, and colorful motifs — creating a journey back in time. The museum is well-organized, divided into sections representing each province and region, including Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Walking through the corridors feels like traveling across the entire country — each hall displays traditional dresses, crafts, tools, household items, musical instruments, and life-sized dioramas depicting rural village scenes, weddings, and festivals. The background music — folk tunes and Sufi qawwalis — makes the experience immersive. * **Heritage Museum** – The centerpiece of Lok Virsa, showcasing Pakistan’s ethnology, from pottery and embroidery to jewelry and musical instruments. * **Sufi & Shrine Hall** – Dedicated to Sufi saints, shrines, and spiritual culture, with mesmerizing visuals and soothing music. * **Cultural Performances** – Occasionally, live folk music and dance performances take place in the open-air theater. * **Souvenir Shops** – Offer handicrafts, handmade jewelry, traditional clothes, and books — great for unique cultural gifts. * **Festivals & Melas** – Lok Virsa often hosts events like Lok Mela, where artisans from across Pakistan exhibit their crafts and perform live. Final Verdict Lok Virsa is more than a museum — it is a cultural journey across Pakistan in just a few hours. It celebrates unity in diversity and reminds us of the richness of our traditions. Despite minor areas for improvement, it remains one of the most important cultural attractions in Islamabad.

Lok Virsa Museum is an absolute must-visit for anyone in Islamabad, whether you're a local or a tourist. It's not just a museum; it's a vibrant journey through the heart of Pakistan's diverse cultural heritage. Tucked away in the beautiful Shakarparian Hills, the museum offers a refreshing and educational experience. The exhibits are incredibly well-curated, showcasing a rich tapestry of handicrafts, textiles, musical instruments, and traditional attire from all corners of the country. I particularly enjoyed the sections dedicated to the regional craftsmanship, where you can see intricate embroidery from Sindh, stunning woodwork from Punjab, and colorful pottery from Balochistan. The life-size dioramas depicting rural life and artisans at work are a fantastic way to visualize the country's folk traditions. The museum's architecture itself is a treat, reflecting traditional Pakistani styles that blend seamlessly with the lush, green surroundings. The outdoor spaces are perfect for a leisurely stroll, offering a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The presence of a cultural library, a souvenir shop with authentic handicrafts, and a café make it a complete experience. It's a place that sparks curiosity and instills a deep appreciation for the customs and history of Pakistan. A visit here takes about 2-3 hours, but you could easily spend more time exploring every detail. It's a truly enriching and memorable experience for families, students, and anyone with an interest in culture and history The administration needs to install some screens in every gallery to give the people a digital visual roundup of the related history.

Nestled in the picturesque Margalla hills, La Montana Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with both indoor and outdoor seating. Specializing in Asian and Pakistani cuisine, particularly barbecue, this restaurant has gained a strong reputation for its delectable buffet spread. The scenic views of Islamabad from its location at Pir Sohawa make it an ideal spot to savor a meal with loved ones.
The closure of restaurants in national park areas by the Government of Pakistan reflects a commitment to preserving the environment and protecting natural ecosystems. While it’s disappointing for food lovers who enjoyed these scenic dining spots, the decision emphasizes the importance of conservation. Such actions highlight the balance between development and environmental responsibility, ensuring that national parks remain pristine for future generations.

1) In summer, it's not a good option to visit this place due to heat waves, especially in brunch buffet. 2) Place is good. 3) various varieties of dishes. 4) plenty of parking. 5) The taste of food was good. 6) free discounted voucher upon next visit. 7) Children under 5 years of age are free. 8)Good place for photography. 9) In 2022, it cost 5000 Rs for 3 people. people with little pocket should avoid this place. I am not sure about the current rates of buffet. 10) In winter, outdoor weddings on open areas are unbelievable. Outstanding. If you can afford it, you can book mehendi hall/outdoor.

I visited la montna last week with my family for hi-tea. I had the best experience with quality food and beautiful view. I'll share their menu as well. Every thing was top class except their welcome drink. They mentioned that they will serve nestle drink but they served peach flavour tang i guess or may be they mixed water in peach flavour juice. I don't know but it wasn't worth drinking. We asked them to change it but they didn't. So we ordered mint margrita for ourselves In general, I'll totally recommend ya'all to visit this place. You will definitely love it. Price- Very reasonable✅ Staff- Cooperative✅ Atmosphere- Amazing✅

Firstly it's located at a wonderful site. You can see the whole upper view of Islamabad and Rawalpindi as well. Secondly it offers best quality food. It's also recommended for a quick bite. I visited this place multiple times and enjoyed a lot. Every type of food is fantastic. I recommend you to visit this place once. Excellent dinner, excellent weather, cool breeze. Buffet was reasonable. Prices are higher than what is shown in advertisements. They show it 1199 plus tax but the effective rate is around 1700 per head as water and cold drinks are separately charged and that too on very high rate of around 165 per head each. The variety of items in buffet is also not too much to give it five star. Parking space is also very limited but they provide valet parking.

Its all about view, everything is normal, probably below the normal but only charging for view (because of location). I had buffet in Ramadan but except chicken wings and sweets nothing else was good. Chicken: not cooked well Mutton : instead of 10g salt they cooked it with probably 30-40g salt Samosa: not fresh, sour taste I dont recommend this restaurant.

With lush greenery, well-kept lawns, and fresh air, the ambiance exudes tranquility and serenity.
‎Here's a lovely review for a restaurant: ‎ ‎"Absolutely loved dining at this restaurant! The ambiance was cozy and intimate, the service was top-notch, and the food was simply divine. 1969 Restaurant, a unique 1960s-themed spot in Shakarparian, Islamabad, captures the nostalgia of Pakistan's golden era with its vintage decor, lush lawns, and a mix of regional and international cuisines. Here's a roundup of glowing feedback from recent visitors: Diners rave about the "enchanting ambiance of a bygone era," calling it a "60s-based theme restaurant with 60s music" and "amazing lawns surrounded by trees," where the food is "really good" and the setting feels like a "pure Pakistani restaurant."9218bbb2941e The biryani and kebabs get special shoutouts as "beautifully decorated and excellent tasting," with one reviewer noting they've "never seen" anything like it north of Pakistan, paired with local-tasting nachos for starters.06bfe5 It's hailed as "one of the best restaurants in Islamabad" for quality family time, with "nice food, beautiful location, and great staff" making visits "memorable"—a top pick for events like birthdays or networking dinners.98337e502b1a7dcdf58cf8f7 On Tripadvisor, it holds a solid 4.0/5 from over 50 reviews, ranking in the top 35 spots in the city, with praise for the "quaint" setup, solid service, and diverse menu that's "vegetarian friendly, vegan options, and halal."eaa3206d7f3a Recent social buzz highlights "wonderful dinners with friends" and even discounts (up to 40% with certain cards), cementing it as a go-to for good vibes and fusion flavors.e0f4dd37fb6e Expect prices on the higher side (around PKR 1,400–2,000 per person), but the thematic charm and serene escape make it worthwhile for a relaxed, flavorful outing. Reservations are recommended, especially for evenings or groups.

I have been here multiple times, not due to food or taste. But only, due to the ambiance and greenery. The taste of food is almost average so don't expect too much. The rates are also on higher side.

We heard very good reviews about 1969. The atmosphere was no doubt wonderful and service was good. We ordered Singaporean rice, soup and mint Margareta. Singaporean rice was an utter disappointment with no chicken and sauce. It was noodles with ketchup/ tomato sauce and fried rice only. Wasn't worth 2000.

1969 Restaurant in Islamabad has a lovely green setting with a large garden and outdoor area, perfect for family gatherings or business lunches and that is the only good thing. The taste is just average or even terrible. They have served papri instead of Nachos, mutton Karahi was just a single serving and Handi was just ok. The restaurant's prices are considered to be on the higher side.

This charming eatery captures the essence of traditional Pakistani cuisine with its extensive menu that features everything from mouthwatering kebabs and fragrant biryanis to rich curries and delightful desserts.
It was the first time my tongue tested the delicious food in islamabad’s restaurant. We have enjoyed their Iftar Buffet containing about 20+ dishes. The texture of the every item enforced us to take and taste. We have reserved table for 6 but one of our friend only tested the food. Surprisingly they did not charge for his. Highly Recommended for the quality and taste within budget

Nice atmosphere and food. Ordered chicken roast which was fine but quantity was less if your appetite is good.

We had soup at first and that was really good and warm. We then had the mushroom stake and that tasted great however according to my taste the chicken was a little dry but the mushroom hot sauce was delicious. And overall the dish was hot which is great. The vegetable rice were cold but they warmed it up well for us and the chicken manchorian was great too. However we did ask at the start to pack up the remaining soup, but I think they forgot to do it at the end. Overall it was a good experience and I would come back

Usmania Hotel has a nice traditional vibe and a wide variety of Pakistani dishes. The food tasted good, especially the handi and BBQ, and the portion sizes were generous. However, the service was a bit slow, and the cleanliness could be improved, especially during busy hours. Overall, it's a decent spot for family dining, but there's room for improvement.

Chicken handi was good, or maybe we were too hungry by that time, lol. Don't order rotis in bulk tell them to bring it hot and fresh (garam roti ka maza hi kuch aur hai). Service was excellent. Restaurant building and interior looked quite old. Not presentable for guests. Just a heads up; Washrooms were upstairs (difficult for families with older parents or smaller kids).

Char Grill Central, also known as CGC, is a popular spot in Islamabad and Lahore that aims to serve the best burgers. They use fresh, unprocessed ingredients purchased daily from local vendors. The restaurant has garnered a loyal customer base due to its delicious offerings and excellent customer service. With a cozy and attractive ambiance, it's the perfect place for burger enthusiasts. The menu features a variety of burgers, including the Beef Overdrive XL and the unique Onion Jam burger.
I visited there with my friends, food was excellent,we ordered burger 🍔 ,the taste was amazing. Staff was very cooperative especially manager assist us very calmly and good manner. Hope to see them again.

We went there with high expectations and it turned out to be terrible. 1) Their service is extremely slow. We had to wait for 30+ minutes to get our order - and we got half of our order. And then after waiting for another 10-15 minutes, we received the remaining order. 2) We asked for a 1 litre cold drink which is available on their menu but they straight away refused it. As per the manager, the 1 litre drink is available only with deals. Why would you keep it on your menu if it cannot be ordered separately? 3) About the food. It was below average. We ordered a Grill Chicken Burger and an Overloaded Sandwich. The sandwich was the worst. It was soggy and falling apart. There was no noticeable difference in the taste of Sandwich and Burger. It seemed as if they had used the same chicken and sauce in both. Nonetheless, we are not returning to the i8 branch anytime soon.

Char Grill Center offers an economical Iftar buffet for Rs. 2290+tax per head. The buffet includes most of @chargrillcentral signature food items. The buffet includes a variety of Iftari items with sauces. The main course includes chicken steaks with 2 sauces. Crispy tender chicken strips, grilled chicken sandwich with fries, beef or chicken sliders, Alfredo Pasta, chicken wings. This buffet also serve life pizza ( 2 flavours). 2 drinks rooh afzah and orange mojito are also included in this buffet. The restaurant has a great view, excellent outdoor ambiance, and is highly recommended for a memorable dining experience.

Leaving 1 star only so the owner actually reads this, because the food deserves 5 without a doubt! The burger was absolutely phenomenal juicy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. But no tissues were sent 😅 I ended up doing a full cleanup mission afterward. Once the owner replies (and hopefully appreciates the feedback), I’ll happily change this to a full 5-star review — the taste totally earns it.

We went to CGC and ordered a Zinger and a beef burger. However, the burgers were not loaded with sauces as expected. We called a waiter, and the manager, Mr. Tehseen Abbasi, also came along with him. Mr. Tehseen Abbasi who was the manager of CGC F-7 handled the situation very well, but we suggest you improve the quality of your burgers.

Excellent quality of burgers. First we requested for early serving of Chipotle Loaded fries, which were served promptly. Then we had Messi, Classic and Overdrive Beef burgers, which were juicy and mouthful. This place is recommended! However, I'd request them to refresh the inside (maybe a little paint job or fresh wallpaper would do). Outside sitting is perfect.
