Wilmington offers a mix of American history, riverside scenery, and accessible museums in a compact, walkable city. Visitors can explore the Hagley Museum and Library and Nemours Estate, both tied to the du Pont family and the region’s industrial past. The revitalized Riverfront features parks, restaurants, and cultural venues along the Christina River, while nearby Brandywine Valley is known for its gardens, wineries, and the Brandywine River Museum of Art just over the Pennsylvania border.
With favorites like River Walk, The Grand Opera House, and Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Chick-fil-A and Sullivan's Steakhouse so you can get the best taste of Wilmington while you’re here. Shopping mall
Shopping
Since its establishment in 1965, Concord Mall has maintained a relaxed atmosphere, offering a diverse range of department stores and an inviting food court with a charming fountain and ample seating. Renowned for striking the perfect balance between quality establishments and avoiding overcrowding by young visitors often found in other malls, it has become shoppers' preferred destination. Unfortunately, the ongoing pandemic has adversely impacted certain stores, resulting in permanent closures or reduced operating hours.
Miss the atmosphere from back in the day. My family would come everywhere Saturday as a family trip, even if it was just for window shopping and going to eat at Woolworths dinner.
Tamika S — Google review
This mall is very sad and depressing 40% of the stores closed down the pizza shop 10.00 for two slices of pizza get real. I cant believe chik filet a is putting money into redoing there store here. Put this mall out of its misery close it..
Randy S — Google review
This is barely a mall. It’s an abandoned building. Less than 10 local stores are open. I don’t think I see any chain stores in there. There’s a furniture store with discounts. Some clothing stores with discounts sign as well. I’m going to assume merchandises are in a good price because they prob just want to sell everything. Food court is closed. Seats and tables are still there. I see cleaning crew walking around. The bathroom is in ok situation. Old and outdated. We walked around and honestly it’s very sad.
Sharon H — Google review
The Concord mall is in a state of steep decline, and management is not handling it gracefully or strategically. They disallowed videography, presumably to minimize documentation of the decay, but word already got out. A meager fraction of storefronts remain in use, the only thing this place has going for is it at least they haven't neglected maintenance.
Martin G — Google review
This mall would have more of its spaces occupied if Round One or Tilted 10 would take over the former Sears space. Arcades and entertainment/amusement venues always revitalize dead malls, assuming that they property is not neglected by the owner. It's a wonder how this mall isn't listed on deadmalls.com. I do like the fountain, though.
Dante M — Google review
it is a great Bosco s. The mall had way too many stores that have closed. There are still some good ones left too..bath and body, kids, children's place.
M C — Google review
Oh man, the Concord Mall isn't what it used to be. It's like a couple of empty storefronts away from being a ghost town. It's sad, honestly, seeing half of the shops shuttered or worse, out of business. The remaining shops? Super random. Like, there's a penny candy store, a beauty supply shop, and even have an office for the Mall itself (which is pretty telling if you ask me). The food court hasn't grown any bigger, but at least it wasn't crowded. That's the silver lining I guess, you can shop in peace because it's extremely quiet. The big stores like Boscovs and Macys are still around and you still get a lunch rush at the food court, but without those, it would look like the Blue Hen Mall in Dover. I'll probably visit again because it's chill and a nice change of pace from the chaos at Christiana, but honestly, in terms of shops, it doesn't even come close.
Victoria V — Google review
Food court now limited seating. Management saw fit to remove about 1/2 seating to give it to Chick-fil-A further down the mall. Now the 4 food venders have limited seating for their customers. Good suposedly christian restaurant stealing from poor competitors. Sure won't use that Chick-fil-A. And they moved seating out into mall so mall workers can clean up and they reduce staff.

Most unique location layout I have seen so far. Made finding what I needed difficult, when entering a national chain, I seek consistency not just in quality and supply, but also the ability to know where to find them. I left empty-handed. Wonderfully polite staff.
Daniel G — Google review
Target stores are almost always up to quality standards and this Target is most definitely included in that list. Everytime I visit to shop or just to look around the employees are kind, helpful, empathetic, and not once have I felt like an annoyance or irritation. On one occasion I had to visit Target 10 minutes before closing time (which is extremely rude to do and not something I prefer to do) since it was an "emergency item". I got to self checkout just 3 minutes shy of closing time. I completed my purchase and offered a very sincere apology for visiting the store so close to their closing time. The employee running self checkout was SO kind to me in return! She didn't make me feel guilty, but just the opposite! I will try to never visit near closing time again and I don't suggest anybody do this - but I was welcomed, respected, and treated with kindness. The Target store is always literally immaculate. You can tell they put a lot of heart into keeping things stocked, inventory accurate, and sometimes they even had items listed out of stock which was great! Anytime you saw things askew like a few shirts unfolded, you could tell that it must have recently happened and that someone would attend to it FAST. Like most Target stores there *can* be some long lines during peak hours. That said, it is not uncommon to ANY of the big box type of stores. It just is that way and any customer should come to expect a little wait when a huge influx of customers rush in. I did notice that when there were wait times to checkout that they would ALWAYS open and announce loudly that another checkout lane was available and open. During times when there was barely any customers checking out, I would be waved down by an open cashier who would happily welcome me to their checkout station. I don't know what Target does differently than Walmart, but the people that work in this Target are GOOD and KIND people. They've always gone above and beyond to assist me, and have always been friendly and personable. I literally have yet to come into contact with any employee that is irritated with having to "deal with me". I tend to be an extrovert who treats strangers with kindness and respect, and it's always a treat to come to this Target and always know I'll get the same treatment back. Oh and I should at least mention the bathrooms! When I've had to use the restrooms they are always in IMPECCABLE shape! It's always nice to go into a men's bathroom and find a nice and clean place, and I've always had this experience here. If you're considering coming to a Target store among several in the general area? I would absolutely 1000% recommend this Target be the one you visit.

More friendly employee presents. Ripped off original price tags because everything is more money. And selection of girls clothing is lacking and sizes.

I always had a positive experience at this store. Very convenient location . Very large collection of products , store looks refreshing. Seems recently store went on renovation and new loom is simply great. See through Starbucks setup is nice. Staffs always attentive here. Very clean and well Maintained store. Price is similar to other target stores. Easily accessible and large store. Will come back again. This store is near to state border, any deal items may quickly sell out.

The person Susan who works at the exchange and return is ridiculously rude and unfriendly. I was there today with my daughters. We were trying to buy school supplies. Until I went to get sunscreen and I couldn’t find my daughters, so I asked if she can help make an announcement so My daughter knew that I was out front waiting for them. She wasn’t willing to help and she told me she doesn’t have cell phone. And then I asked another employee if she can help me and she told me I can go to the customer service and ask them to make an announcement. If your not going to be nice to your customers then don’t come to work.this is not how you treat customers.
Susie C — Google review
They post 10 signs that say Music and Books buy 2 get 1 free, all over the store. When you go to pay, they do not honor and make up reasons like - excludes vinyl... the photo is taken from the vinyl end cap, with no "vinyl" exclusions...they would rather lose a customer than honor their own sale. Sales associate thought that they should honor the posted sale sign, but the manager on duty could not be bothered to come out.
Yaron G — Google review
This has to be considered one of the top Target stores in all of Northern Delaware. I would probably consider it in the top tier even if you included Targets from Delaware county as well. And believe me, that’s high praise. My favorite thing about this Target is how they cleared out all their extra merch...it feels so light and airy in there now! All the extra space is so nice and relaxing. One employee was so helpful that when I asked where the batteries were, they pointed right at them and said, “There they are, sir!” Now that’s customer service.

Nestled in the heart of Delaware, Bellevue State Park is a former du Pont family estate that offers a delightful blend of history and outdoor recreation. This expansive park features an array of amenities including tennis courts, a fitness track, and stables where majestic horses roam. Families will find joy in the playgrounds designed for children of all ages, while nature enthusiasts can explore scenic hiking trails or enjoy disc golf amidst lush surroundings.
This park is truly picturesque, offering a dedicated area for gardening, teeming with lush green vegetables. Its vast expanse accommodates various activities such as fishing, trekking, and hiking. Moreover, it's a haven for children with picnic tables and playgrounds. A stable graces the park, housing magnificent and robust horses 🐎. All in all, it's an exceptional place to while away the hours!

I don’t come here often because I live too far away, but I’m always glad when I do. Growing up in Delaware, there’s a lot I don’t like about here, but our state parks are sparkling gems in an otherwise dull state.

Very nice park; glad there's not drive-through areas throughout the whole park and that it's mostly walk-only. The horses/stables on site are very cool as well as the large garden. Park office sells stuffed animals of local creatures too!

Nemours Estate, located in Wilmington, Delaware, is a stunning 200-acre property that showcases the opulent lifestyle of the DuPont family. The centerpiece is a 77-room French neoclassical mansion designed to resemble an 18th-century chateau. The estate also boasts formal French gardens, vintage automobile displays in the garage, and extensive woodlands and meadows.
The estate has been beautifully maintained. A Saturday guided tour is really valuable. After the tour, you can explore the mansion on your own. There are also gardens to explore. There are some beautiful spots to take a break and enjoy the peace and quiet. I plan on returning soon to enjoy a behind the scenes tour.

Excellent worth visiting. Very impressed with the Estate & staff. The staff was amazing very friendly and helpful. The mansion has original items from the family still present in the rooms. Very clean & well maintained. *See attached photos 📸. One of the best Estates I have visited. Good parking. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend you visit & also go to Long Wood Gardens which is close by. The gift shop is bad, it needs major improvement.

What a brilliant estate! I loved visiting Nemours. We thoroughly enjoyed the bus tour of the grounds, as well as touring the house. All of the staff/guides were informative and friendly. I was also impressed by the special attention given to visitors. It was especially hot the day we visited. The staff provided free water, sun umbrellas and even offered free rides up to the house due to the extreme heat. All the way around, it was a wonderful experience. Please visit this historical gem!

My Second visit to the estate and it is just wonderful experience. Reasonable ticket price $24 for 1x Adult for unlimited time on the property. Beautiful gardens, lots of benches and shade spots, wheelchair accessible. Also has a shuttle and golf carts to transfer you from/to the mansion.

This was a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a nice fall day. The mansion tour was extensive - unlike so many where you can only see a couple rooms. The grounds were gorgeous with lots of paths for walking, and the tram made it easy to see other spots we might have missed.

While looking for things to do on my way to Philadelphia, I discovered the DuPont Mansion Museum. The place is stunning, with gorgeous gardens and a spectacular historic home. The staff is incredibly welcoming and great with kids—they even provided a scavenger hunt to keep them engaged. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it for all ages. And here’s a tip for fellow photographers: this spot is a dream for photos! I’d love to bring a client here for a session—it’s full of charm and beautiful backdrops.

Love the gorgeous mansion and the property that is beautifully maintained. I highly recommend the bus tour to see several acres of gardens and stories you won't want to miss.

Cool experience showing Mr. DuPonts property. Lots of helpful and informative tour guides. Both interior and exterior of the Mansion were beautiful. Brandywine Creek State Park is an expansive 933-acre nature preserve, complete with 19th-century stone walls and a variety of natural wonders. The park features a tulip poplar forest and a nature center, as well as many trails for hiking and exploration. Visitors can enjoy the park's Big Sledding hill in winter, picnic areas with grills, and scenic views along the Brandywine River where people are often seen rafting or fishing.
Beautiful park with great trails and peaceful views! Brandywine Creek State Park is perfect for nature lovers. The trails are well-maintained and offer stunning views of the creek, woods, and open meadows. The Creek Trail is my favorite—it’s easy to walk and has great spots to relax by the water. The park is great for families, with plenty of open spaces, picnic spots, and chances to see birds and wildlife. It’s peaceful and a great place for a hike, a walk, or just to enjoy nature. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor day!

Beautiful views and lots of parking. The disc golf course is really nice and has a lot of good changes in elevation so it makes for a great leg workout.

Love that we have the Brandywine so close to our home, it’s my happy place. Although, since Delaware is so whacked they’re letting the homeless move in. Be safe when you’re on the trails as some homeless have tents up. The park can’t remove them because they need to contact the homeless person first…house bill 135- stupidity. I was told by a park personnel as well, that be careful as homeless folks tend to have mh issues/drug problems. So drug paraphernalia may be around their encampment. Great, huh?! Keep our parks safe Delaware I am more than disgusted by your lack of concern for the citizens and park goers. So what I took from the Brandywine when I called/ emailed was - the homeless can be dangerous and leave drug paraphernalia behind, but hey we can’t help you so good luck in the park. Be safe on your own lol.

November 8, 2025 - Beautiful park. About a 2 mile paved walking trail. There are also natural trails off of the paved trail some go along the water. It had rained the night before so the trails were a little muddy and the wet leaves made things slippery so I stuck to the paved trail. One trailhead has restrooms and picnic tables. They allow bow and arrow deer hunting season but it is clearly marked. A family of deer crossed my path right in front of me. You can see one deer jumping across the path in one picture. The mom and baby crossed in front of me and I could hear rustling in the woods so I waited patiently for the dad to appear. Very peaceful. When the trails are not muddy, make sure you explore off on them. This is part of the Delaware Greenway system - make sure you check out all the other paths.
Julia P — Google review
If you plan to hang out, make sure to get your park pass. You can get a yearly one, but I just got it for the day. Since I was out of state, it was $8.00. There are outside places to pay, but I got mine at the Nature Center. As you can see by the photos and videos, it is well worth the cost. You can also get your Passport Stamp for First State - Delaware. The Nature Center is a must for the kids as it has a viewing room and a bunch of nature stuff to see and read. There is a mini gift shop if you want some souvenirs. There is an area to go exploring in the woods to see some of the wildlife. Most of the area is open fields though, so good for kids to run around. There are plenty of places to picnic and there are some grills available for use. If interested, there is frisbee golf, but make sure it isn’t windy. It is pet friendly as I saw a few people with dogs.

Decent group of employees very courteous. Food was out quick hot fresh. Better than a lot of the other Chick-fil-A's I've been into this one's located inside the mall Concord Mall in Delaware even though it's 25 minutes away that will be where I get my food from now on.

Service used to be great at this location. Most recent visit (tonight) online order. Pickup was faster than usual, I was in a bit of rush, so I did not check my bag like I normally do(shame on me). Was missing a small fry and the order for 12ct nuggets only had 8 in the box. Food still tastes great but, small attention to details like that is needed.
William D — Google review
I eat at Chick-fil-A more than I probably should, and I leave a lot of reviews—so this isn’t coming from someone unfamiliar with the brand. I ordered the chicken strips, and they were flat-out not edible. They looked overcooked, but the real issue was the grease. It tasted old and left the strips with a burnt, bitter flavor. I let the staff know, and they remade the order, but somehow the second batch was even worse. They did issue a refund, but beyond that, I didn’t feel valued as a customer at all. The experience definitely fell short—nothing about it reflected the true Chick-fil-A standard I’m used to. It felt like the kind of service you’d expect somewhere else, not here. Really disappointing from a place I usually enjoy and trust. The kitchen needs to take a hard look at their oil and food quality.
John D — Google review
This location is in the mall but has curbside pick up and usually moved along pretty quickly My issue is the sauces. They are very stingy on sauces and they have a "recycle your sauces" bucket in the lobby on top of the trash can. This concerns me a great deal. Who knows who touched those sauces packets before putting them back in the bin to be "recycled" If the restaurant then grabs those and uses them.to hand out....they usually end up inside the French fry box meaning.....some customers likely unsanitary hands have touched it and are now touching my fries. This is a huge violation of cleanliness and needs to be stopped. Chick fil a corporate needs to send more Sauce to restaurant locations.

Went in at lunchtime for take out salad. No dressing in the bag- although the receipt says +Avo Ranch and no fork in the bag- but somehow a spoon and knife made it in the bag. I’ll stay at Ave. North for lunch from now on.

I ordered a grilled chicken wrap, I felt as though I was in an old Wendy’s commercial, but instead of saying “where’s the beef?” I was saying “where’s the chicken?” The store was clean and the staff members were extremely nice and helpful. The value for what I paid for and what I received did not align. Oh yeah, in my opinion I received the “drive through” quantity of fries, there certainly weren’t many in the bag. I guess they thought I was taking my order to go so less fries. Come to think of it, I was never asked if my order was for dine in or to go. The experience wouldn’t sway me from returning. I’d just get something different from the menu and specify if I am dining in or taking out.

Sullivan's Steakhouse is a swanky chain known for its beef, seafood, and cocktails. The New York strip and Jumbo Crab cakes are popular choices, with the hostess ensuring that your steak is cooked to perfection. Some diners find the waiting area cramped but praise the efficient seating process. The French onion soup, NY strip, garden salad, mashed potatoes, and Coconut Tiki cocktail receive high praise.
The food was FANTASTIC. The fact that they perfectly made a Pittsburgh steak perfectly blows my mind!! Tiffany exemplified the level of customer service that is expected in a restaurant of this caliber. She not only made sure our needs were taken care of but was also able to bring a personalized and professional experience to the table.

My husband set the reservation for my birthday but nothing was set up for my birthday. My server was really good , service was slow though. I wasn’t too thrilled with my food, I ended up sending the gratin back it definitely was underwhelming and the lobster had zero flavor. I had crab cakes but they were grossly underwhelming. The Mac was undercooked but seasoned pretty decently. The creamed spinach was way better than the sautéed spinach. My husband had the chicken which was cooked really well just unfortunately under seasoned. I can’t say I’ll be back.

I attended Sullivan’s for celebrate my friend and I birthday. Our waitress was a nice woman named Ashley, it was her first day on the floor and my table was her first table of the night. It was also my first time eating at that restaurant. Her overall performance was excellent she knew the menu front and back and convinced me to try the smoked pork belly which was a 10/10. She was very funny and tended to our every need. I would definitely request her section again.

American restaurant
Informal chain serving signature ice cream treats alongside American classics like burgers & melts.
The food was incredible and the staff was kind. My brother got a burger and the meat was so tender and I was highly impressed with the quality; it's hard to order burgers out because you dont know what type of meat is used for the burgers but this was real beef. I got the short ribs and potatoes and wow the meat was very tender. We also had an order of the Honey BBQ chicken melt and it was ordered differently than on the menu and it came out perfect with the specifications asked. The only recommendation is to be careful of the amount of salt in the gravy because it was extremely salty. We will definitely be ordering again.
Katelyn R — Google review
Friendly's is known for ice cream more than serving food which is limited. The ice cream is spectacular! The food is mostly something with chicken in it. I had the beef stroganoff and it was tasty but very salty. I would suggest a hot dog or burger then some ice cream to top it off.

Very slow service. Food was OK was a bit cold. Was fairly clean. We were on vacation and decided to give it a try.

Did an online pick up order.... it’s certainly basic fast food.. however I’ve been a fan of friendlys for years.. I even threw my daughter a bday party here when she turned 4.. I’ve watched the company go through many changes and my experience today was pretty silly... I ordered the Carmel fudge brownie sundae. I get all the way home to eat and put my ice cream in the freezer to my surprise they put the ice cream and brownie all in one container.. now if we’re saving the whales here I get it...less styrofoam... BUT why would you put that altogether for a to go order? I called and spoke with “ assistant manager” Ida who said bring back the old and they would re do it.. at that point I was already back at work/ home & quite frankly I thought it would be common sense to have them in separate containers until the guest gets home and can mix/ make accordingly... I won’t be back

Friendly's in Brandywine Towne Plaza has greatly improved! New menus with new variety of choices! Portion sizes also increased and are now on par with prices. Service was excellent, fast, and attentive. Sundaes were delicious! Must be under new management! Looking forward to our next visit.

The waitress Julie was every bit of rude. Seemed as though she didn’t want to be of service to us. Nor at work. She got upset with us for not knowing that we had to leave after being seated and still enjoying our meal past closing time. I personally wouldn’t have went through my meal if I knew that it would be ruined as the end by distasteful service. The manager wasn’t too much better than the server after speaking with her. Do better for all us. Negative energy can jump from one person to another. We need more love and light in this world especially in a place that’s supposed to be friendly. I mean it’s Friendly’s sheesh.

Kierra was Excellent!! She was courteous and attentive to whatever my wife and I wanted. The whole staff at this location did a Great job. Definitely satisfied with the food and Ice cream. Brought me back to my youth. Loved the whole dinning experience.

Finally got a chance to them out. Have heard of friendly's just never went. Overall it was great. I had the fisherman's platter. Was amazing. So worth the 18 bucks. The only downside was the tartar sauce was super tangy like it might have been bad. Regardless...i enjoyed my meal. Will definitely be dining here more often.

Northern Italian restaurant
Pizza restaurant
Mazzella's Italian Restaurant is a classic eatery located in a strip mall, offering a variety of Italian dishes including pizza with seafood toppings. While some patrons have expressed dissatisfaction with the bread served with the platters, many others rave about the excellent food, particularly praising the thin-crust pizza and pasta. The restaurant is known for its generous portions at reasonable prices and friendly staff. Some customers recommend trying the seafood options, such as the Grouper.
Food was sooooo good!!! The garlic knots would have been better if they were warm, but other than that everything was super tasty. The Italian Wedding soup was great and there was even an egg in it! The portions are huge, so definitely bring your appetite!
Nicole H — Google review
I had the seafood gluten-free pizza. Seafood was good. I enjoyed it. Gluten-free crust tasted like saltine crackers. It's not my flavor. Crust could be better, yet I appreciate the 🙏 effort for gluten-free. Came with a separately wrapped disposable pizza knife.
Louis R — Google review
Great place to eat The bar has not a lot to choose from tap wise. The food is in big portions. The seafood 🦞 Diablo is fantastic and a lot of people recommend the baked ziti 😉. If you are ever in Delaware look this place up.
Thomas A — Google review
Popped into Mazzella’s and was blown away by the huge portions and hearty, authentic Italian flavors. The specialty pizzas—especially eggplant and margherita—were outstanding, and their pastas (including chicken Parmesan and penne arrabbiata) left me with leftovers for days. The staff had a warm, family-run vibe, and service was solid. A few folks have mentioned parking or waiting area issues, but overall it’s a neighborhood favorite for good reason—delicious food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll be back for more!
Demir Ç — Google review
Went here for the first time and I will not be back. I did not care for the taste of the pizza and it didn't help that one of the pizzas I ordered was burnt on the bottom. And $32 for 2 medium pizzas is crazy. Giving this place 2 stars because the service was great.
Reen C — Google review
I was stuffed just from the appetizers and bread alone, so I had to take my entree to go. I’m sure I’ll be able to make it last for a couple of days because the portion sizes are HUGE! The food was tasty and fresh for sure. Very friendly waiting staff. ❤️
Lazaria L — Google review
Delicious authentic huge portions Italian cuisine, fast pleasant service and the Peroni on draft was a nice surprise!
Joe H — Google review
Really good Italian restaurant and take away. It has a nice bar that you can sit at. Portions are generous for the price. Try their pizza, it's really good, the crust is just right, not too thin and not too thick or fluffy either. Veggie lovers is definitely recommended 👌

I walked around this beautiful little park a couple of times this past weekend while visiting the area. This park is well maintained, and the scenery here is absolutely stunning. There is also a cute little zoo that is great for little kids. The one thing I found a little odd was that the park had no restrooms around the perimeter. The only restrooms are in the zoo. This park is very quiet, and in the opinion of this New Yorker, I found it safe. I really enjoyed my walks, and this park is definitely worth checking out, whether you're a resident or visitor, like myself.

Nestled in the scenic Brandywine Park, the Brandywine Zoo is Delaware's only zoo and offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. This charming little zoo features an array of fascinating animals, including playful lemurs, capybaras, bobcats, majestic condors, and eagles. The intimate setting allows families to connect with wildlife up close while exploring engaging exhibits like the Madagascar display showcasing adorable lemurs.
Me and my wife had taken our grandchildren to Brandywine years ago, we decided to go on our own. The zoo is an amazing little gem snuggled in the Brandywine park area. The zoo is small but it has an amazing collection of smaller animals that in our eyes are just right for little ones. They have a petting area, areas for the kids to explore and a stage for people to sit and watch zoo events. Beautifully maintained in a great setting.

This place is a nice zoo, humble in size ,magical nonetheless. There are a variety of activities for both adults and kids of all ages. Suitated next to the Brandywine River, where there are other park venues not associated with the park however ,a nice compliment for your day. Vendors a plenty, beautiful scenery, happy people. Customer service is wonderful and the prices are fair. Bring a cushion of$ just to be safe.

It's an excellent zoo for smaller children. Very easy walking, basically one path in and same path out. Not lots of animals but those they have are interesting. Free parking at the park, and nice place for lunch or picnic after. Playground short drive / walking distance from zoo.

This is a very small Zoo nestled in a very nice park in Wilmington delaware. I wouldn't expect much in terms of size, but the staff is all very friendly and the animals are all very cute and fun to watch I went on a Tuesday morning with my mother and we were able to complete the whole park in about 45 minutes I was very impressed with the amount of caregivers I saw in the animals' enclosures, whether they were feeding them or tidying up the enclosure. the staff were all very friendly. If you wanted you could bring a picnic for afterwards and enjoy that by the creek. Parking was free and I thought the parking lot was a little small. They have a nice little gift shop. I don't think the snack stands were open so I can't comment on that. I would recommend this place for a quick outing before you go out for lunch or dinner.
M. W — Google review
Had a great time visiting the Brandywine Zoo, I'd say a visit would take an hour or two. It is much smaller than most Zoos I've visited but it has no lack of charm. The animals were very lively and the staff was incredibly welcoming. My favorite exhibit would have to be the anteater as I've never been able to see one so close before. I also think having an area dedicated to petting the different goats that also had dedicated staff was an absolutely wonderful touch, I know my family certainly enjoyed it. I think more Zoos could learn a thing or two by the way the Brandywine Zoo is run. What it lacks in size in makes up for with the wonderful staff.
Alekos M — Google review
This was a good place to show up at as an impromptu activity and it was nice to have an attraction that only cost $9 per adult to get into, but it was so tiny, had some closed exhibits, and even while trying to drag the experience out it was only about a half hour visit. Still, it's a nice facility and it's connected to the Brandywine Park and central Wilmington so it made for a solid component of an enjoyable weekend afternoon.
Mark — Google review
I went about an hour before closing, so although I felt more rushed. I was told the animals are a lot more active because of the time of day and it being close to feeding time. I got so many great pictures and had a great experience! Enjoy! 😀

A beautiful and well-maintained park that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to go for a peaceful walk, have a picnic, or just enjoy some fresh air, this place really delivers. The paths are clean and easy to navigate, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas to relax. I also appreciated the open green spaces — great for families, kids, or just reading a book on the grass. It felt safe and quiet, even during the busier hours. A perfect spot to unwind and recharge.

Great parks to enjoy with your family and friends. There is a small area with benches and tables to have a picnic. The park is nicely kept. There are trails to walk or ride your bike. There are also benches along the way in case you get tired and need to take a rest. The Delaware River runs through the park. Great for scenic photos. The Btandywine Zoo is only steps away from the park. The only downside is that the public bathroom is located inside the zoo area. Otherwise, it is one of my favorite parks to visit, and I live out of state.

Had an excellent time at this zoo. The path is straight forward and you see everything twice. They had different staff teaching about animals throughout the day and the goat petting pen was fun for the kids. Some of the animals were not out but it was about mid day. The Grand Opera House, located in Wilmington, Delaware, has been a source of entertainment for over 140 years. It offers a wide range of live performances including opera, symphony, ballet and Broadway shows. The historic building was constructed in 1871 as part of a Masonic temple and is known for its stunning Victorian architecture. With more than 120 performances annually across three venues, there's something to suit every taste.
We went to see Opera Delaware's world premiere of the opera "Fearless" here and loved both the performance as well as the opera house. We're lucky to have an elegant, beautiful opera house in Delaware. It was a Sunday performance so we were able to easily find street parking, but there are garages nearby as well.
Naba B — Google review
Really nice old style opera house style theater with good views , from what I could see, for most seating. The sound for Melissa Etheridge was excellent, as it was clear and loud enough, better than some theaters where you still hear people talking and yelling. One negative that I noticed was that the staff were quite rude, sometimes downright nasty and a bit anal to a good percentage of patrons. The way they talked to people and the way they stood in your view of the stage was really disappointing. Maybe they just have a problem with the LGBT community, which in my eyes is unacceptable. Everyone was there to have a great time and no one should be talked to like that. Sorry about the poor quality photos, my phone is old and slow, unlike me. 🤣🤣🤣

I love seeing a show here. The acoustics are amazing. The staff is unbelievably friendly. We've seen Chris Botti, Esperanza Spalding, Trombone Shorty, Get the Led Out and others.

Most of the seats on the second floor have an obstruction. There is a speaker hanging down on the other side of the stage blocking the view otherwise it was beautiful.

Attended the Fearless: The Taylor Swift Experience. The show was great! I’ve lived here 25+ years and this was the first time attending an event here. The employees were super nice, especially the ladies working the bar. The ushers were polite and made sure everyone found their seats. They even took pictures for folks which I thought was super nice as well. There are a number of parking lots in the area so that wasn’t an issue. We parked near the DoubleTree and it only cost us $4. There’s ample food nearby and all within walking distance. We’ll be back!

Worst place ever to see a concert!!! We were told to sit down at the seats that we paid for! If u don't want anybody in front of u dancing, then stay home and watch the concert on TV. Unless it's a rule at the opera house, then the ushers shouldn't be able to tell u to sit down. My hb and I go to many concerts, and we have never been told to sit down by a usher!!! I felt like we were at a nursing home event! Don't bother coming here bc it's a waste of time and money! They should refund our 3 seats for the George Thorogood concert!

The Queen itself is super awesome. Excellent staff. Clean and accommodating. However, the parking is sketchy. Avoided the garage due to the reviews. Finding a spot out front is nearly impossible. Fun evening listening to Lennon VanderDoes snd Olivia Rubini! Nice, intimate venue. There were a couple of booths, standing tables, and a few rows of chairs set up on each side of the small stage. Stitch House Brewery is a charming establishment located in a historic setting, offering house-brewed beers, craft cocktails, and creative pub fare. The venue has the ambiance of a sports entertainment spot and is conveniently situated downtown near transportation hubs. Visitors have praised the friendly staff and enjoyed sampling an array of beers on tap. The cozy atmosphere with open brew vats and brick walls adds to the appeal.
We had a salad that was awesome and pretzels, also quite good. The beer is flawless. The Snitchez Get Stitchez and the English Barleywine were really awesome. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Solid 4.5 stars. The place is small but nice. Stopped in for a quick beer while traveling in business. Bartender was friendly and helpful. Offered a few tastes and I settled on the Coconut Pete Porter, which was outstanding. Wasn’t keen on the other two tastes. Didn’t eat anything so can’t comment on the menu. I did like the open brew vats and the brick walls. Will try a few more on next visit.

Definitely a destination lunch, as there's not much in the area besides the brewery and a few other restaurants. Worth it, though, oh my goodness, worth it. Best Philly cheese steak sandwich all week and we weren't even in Philly. Wings will easily serve two or more for an appetizer. Roast beef was mouth watering. Perogies were spot on (spoken from a polish family's opinion), service was great, and the beer was excellent. Wish we could take this one home with us. Smoked Marzan was a particular win. Yum!

Stitch House is very nice! Beer: is a lot better than I was anticipating! Great variety to accommodate just about everyone's preferences. Flights are available to sample a variety of beer. Atmosphere: open, spacious and cozy. Great for large groups as well. I love the dark accents, white subway tile and black grout combo! Unfortunately we didn't get any food, but the menu looks promising. All the more reason to come back!

Edit: dropped to 3 stars for inconsistency. I've been back 2 times and it was not as good. Me and my friend got sick (down to 2 stars) after he ordered a chicken Caesar salad and I got a seasonal salad. Very disappointing but pretty standard for Delaware cuisine (terrible everywhere) Original: I got a pesto chicken wrap and my friend ordered a burger. Both were very good. I will definitely be back. The quality of food and tastyness justifies the slightly higher prices found here. Also ordered drinks from the bar, very good 😊

Full video of our visit is on my YouTube channel, Philadelphia Cheesesteak Adventure. Special Friday Drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. We ate a lot on the menu. To sum our visit up; 1. Loved the mushrooms. 2. I would stick with the smoked meats. 3. Cubano was very good but why not put your house beer cheese on it? 4. I liked the short rib panini but again would have preferred the house beer cheese. 5. This place is very close to being great.

Such a good beer selection! Some real winners, and every one was solid. Great food too! The beer was exceptional. Great variety (not just a bunch of different versions of the same thing), and they rarely nailed every one. This would be a great place to go if you (or that friend you're trying to get into beer) is trying to expand your palate and get a good feel for what's it there. Their food was great! Excellent sandwiches and some awesome skillet dishes. Get the pierogies, they were fantastic! (Update: went again and had their soup of the day. Asparagus bisque - sounds questionable, but we all tried it and agreed it was superb!)

The service was efficient, with food and drinks arriving promptly. The highlight of the meal was the fig toast, which was absolutely phenomenal – a perfect balance of flavors. I also tried the dry-aged duck breast, which was decent but didn’t quite live up to my expectations. While it wasn’t bad, it lacked the wow factor I was hoping for. Still, it was a nice evening with great service and standout dishes.

Duck was a favorite and pairs well with the sauce. Scallops were very tender and juicy. Lamb rigatoni pasta was a tad salty, but still good.

Loved the cheese board, focaccia, fig toast, duck, pastas and wine. They specialize in small plates and bites. Great spot for a work dinner or personal date spot!

Without a doubt the BEST restaurant in De. Not an exaggeration but a FACT. I came here tonight for a birthday, and my expectations were blown away. Not only was the service phenomenal, but the food was beyond incredible. Compliments the chef 10 times over. This was without a doubt, one of the best dining experiences I have had ever. I had the squid ink pasta, as well as a cheese charcuterie board, and the strawberry sorbet was to absolutely die for. 20/10 that good!!

Went for Wednesday Prixe Fixe menu. It was so hard to make a choice before I ever tasted the food, that it's incomprehensible to think about making a decision the next time I visit. The presentation, impeccable; tastes, imaginative; experience, welcoming. An absolute 6/5 experience.

I would give La Fia Bistro more than 5 stars if possible. 5 of us drove from different directions about an hour to enjoy this outstanding Mother's Day brunch. We had a beautiful table next to a bay window. Lauren, our server was the best! But the food stole the show. Delicious cocktails. Best house made scones ever! Wonderful 1st course, especially the crispy potatoes with crème fraiche, chives, and caviar; and the avocado toast. For the 2nd course, the short ribs were the best I've ever tasted. And the spring vegetables with eggs was amazing. The veggies could not have tasted any fresher or more delicious! We are looking forward to our next fabulous meal at LA Fia!!

I had the pleasure of experiencing La Fia on a Wednesday when they offer a 3 course meal for $46. Everything was tasty and well presented. I’ve walked past this place many times and didn’t think to give it a chance glad I did.

Went here for our anniversary dinner and it was so good, definitely a 5-star experience. We ordered the focaccia, duck confit, two cocktails, and the bucatini alla gricia. Even though they were out of bucatini, they swapped in a different pasta and the dish was still absolutely amazing. Everything was flavorful and beautifully done, and the attention to detail and quality really stood out. You can tell they care about what they’re serving. Such a lovely spot for a special night out!

The Quoin Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with the option to sit on a charming patio that overlooks historical grounds. The outdoor seating is considered one of the best in the city, providing a pleasant and somewhat secluded atmosphere. The restaurant's rooftop bar provides a nice view of the city, while their basement speakeasy, "Simmer Down," adds to the cool ambiance.
The Quoin is a wonderful place to dine in downtown Wilmington. I have been a few times for dinner and this is the second year in a row that we have booked The Quoin for our holiday dinner and both years were spectacular. We usually have a party of about 20 people. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Highly recommend.

I've gone here a couple of times for a business team dinner and love it every time! 😋 The menu is small but all dishes are thoughtful and tasty. The strawberry salad is refreshing 🍓and octopus was crispy 🐙. They have a good drink selection and creative mocktails 🥂 The restaurant itself has a beautiful interior design that mixes retro and modern styles.

Brought my friend to dinner to one of my favorite places on market st! Tried a few things off the new menu everything was absolutely delicious. Brandon was a delight and very helpful with any questions we had. Kevin checked in on us and was very helpful with our decision on our steak and desserts decisions.

Absolutely amazing!!! We had swordfish, the pork shank, branzino, and the heirloom pasta special. Everything was incredible and Eileen our waitress was amazing. She was able to describe all of the dishes in astonishing detail before we ordered and it was helpful in making the decisions. 100% recommend!!!! We were a little behind taking photos but I’ve included two.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Anniversary Night at The Quoin My wife and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary at The Quoin, and the entire experience was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance—sophisticated without feeling stuffy, warm and inviting with an open kitchen that felt alive and welcoming. The staff was gracious, attentive, and truly seemed to enjoy helping create a memorable experience for guests. We started with the Yellowfin Tuna Crudo and Crispy Octopus—both beautifully balanced in flavor and presentation. The Piadina Melanzana was a standout vegetarian dish that didn’t feel like a compromise in any way. The Potato Quoins were indulgent and comforting, and the Maitake Mushrooms with truffle vinaigrette delivered deep, rich flavor in every bite. For dessert, the Trifle with orange curd and diplomat cream was a refreshing and elegant ending to the meal. The drinks—Midsummer Nights and the Lavender Spritz—were equally well-crafted, striking just the right mood for the night. What made it truly special wasn’t just the food or the drinks, but the overall energy of the space. There was something romantic, modern, and grounded in the experience—like the restaurant is confident in who it is, and that allows guests to fully relax and enjoy. We left feeling full, happy, and grateful. Highly recommend for any special occasion—or anytime you want to feel a little more connected to your food and your company.

Took my boyfriend here for a belated birthday dinner/to look into booking my office Holiday Party here… Our server, Brandon, gave my guy the greatest experience and recommended the BEST wine for me. Seriously, he listened to what I like out of a red and then NAILED IT! <3 We will be back!

The food and our waitress were fantastic. The manager (young white male) was insensitive, daft and uncouth to a member of our party who needed a service dog. He actually stated to her that the dog needed to be for a legitimate medical necessity highlighting her condition.

Tried a new place in Wilmington, Delaware called Quoin Hotel & Restaurant. Lots of potential in my opinion. We started out on the patio, but it was a bit buggy and lots of street noise so we moved inside. Looks like a great bar and the seating was excellent. Our server was terrific (Bridgette) and super knowledgeable, but service was a little inconsistent considering we had an early seating. I had the duck & pappardelle which was fantastic and the exact right portion size, but only lukewarm. I followed that with the Bronzino with fennel and citrus salad. Really light phenomenal entree! I finished with the chocolate almond torta which was the perfect way to end the meal. Evan’s brick grilled chicken had great taste but was lukewarm. They also neglected to remove the tomatoes even after we had an entire pre-meal conversation about tomatoes and cilantro. Ginny and Evan both loved their shrimp fettuccine (again not quite hot) and Ginny thought the sticky toffee pudding was better than her favorite from Gordon Ramsey!! Well worth a try but be careful about parking (we valeted).

Mikimotos is a trendy spot in downtown Wilmington that has been serving fresh sushi and other Japanese and Pan-Asian dishes for over a decade. The restaurant offers a stylish ambiance with a bar and happy hour. Guests can enjoy watching their sushi being made at the spacious sushi bar or try out other popular dishes like Crab Rangoons or Pad Thai. Established by Darius Mansoory, Mikimotos is known for its extensive sushi menu, with favorites such as the Hairy Mexican roll.
Had dinner here tonight. Everything was perfect. Our waiter, Danny, was also great. We had the Thai chili green beans, the vegetable drunken noodles, and for rolls we had Al Pastor, Hairy Mexican, and the Chesapeake. Easily the freshest and tastiest sushi around. Delicious!

Delicious food & fast service! Place is very welcoming and they have chefs hand rolling sushi in the middle of the restaurant, which is definitely a crowd pleaser! Sushi was fantastic, calamari wasn’t bad; a tad overcooked but the sauce that accompanied it was great. A nice place for sushi in Delaware.

I ordered purple haze sake, which was very good. Not as busy because I came on a week day which is nice. They service was good and they did have parking which was free on the side of the building. The sushi was fresh and very delicious. I Will be coming back to try out more stuff on the menu. Overall I had a great time here.

Sat at a 4-top behind the bar for Happy Hour. Service was a bit slow but acceptable considering the company. Hairy Mexican didn't disappoint nor did the California Dream, Shishito Peppers, Sushi Tacos or Crispy Calamari. I wouldn't order the Mango Beef. Pretty fatty pieces and small. Lettuce was wilted. They were out of stock on the Rose but had a replacement (Osmin & Cie). Not sure of the new wall painting project but would reconsider to tone down the hard lines and soften up the colors. Atmosphere not as dynamic as it once was. Would go back and sit at the bar.

A LITTLE bit bummed about the new management. Higher prices, less options. Cocktails no longer come with shakers as refills. Less crab rangoons. However, service was great as usual and everything tasted amazing. Overall, great experience.

We haven't been here for awhile. We currently have 3 sushi places on our rotation, but this is our go-to when we want the best sushi or to celebrate something. We sat at the bar and Greta was fantastic. We ordered the Crab Salad, crab stick with seaweed and spicy mayo, Bang Bang shrimp, crispy shrimp with sriracha aioli, Double Fantasy which is lobster tempura, king crab, pepper tuna, and cajun white tuna, and the Hairy Mexican which is fried shrimp, avocado, spicy mayo and crabstick. Everything was on point, we can always depend on Mikimotos. The Asian Pear is my favorite. We weren't considering dessert until Greta convinced us to try the Tempura Brownie Sundae and it was phenomenal. So good that the people sitting next to us ordered it as well.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Daniel S Frawley Stadium. Not quite as popular as Hagley Museum, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

The Delaware Children's Museum is a captivating destination for families, offering interactive exhibits and activities designed to engage children and adults alike. With a focus on science, animals, art, technology, history, and more, the museum provides an educational and entertaining experience. Visitors can explore hands-on exhibits covering topics such as money management, space exploration, and the workings of the human heart within its 37,000-square-foot space.
My kids love this place. There is tons to do, your kids won’t get bored. I love that most of the activities are locally themed, so you learn more about Delaware. Staff is super friendly. Membership is very reasonably priced. Great place to go anytime, but especially when the weather keeps you from going to the park.

Had family bring grandchildren to spend a couple of hours watching the kids enjoy all the hands-on activities. First time here. Large free parking lot. 2 restaurants with the same parking lot access. Security is a little light on who enters, so be sure to keep a watch over your children. Admission was $12 per person. Can purchase a membership, if desired. Saw at least 2 restroom areas. Many hands-on activities with different themes, including sports, construction, water, and fresh fruits and veggies, produce stand. Activities for all ages, young and old alike. Parents can participate too. Small gift shop, but need to pay at front desk.

We went for their monthly $2 admission family night they do & it's such a neat place to take your young children...and if you're like me, it's fun for you too! There's SO many awesome things for the kids to do from the massive interactive water table, pirate ship, train, race car, sports area, giant building blocks, art center, fun photo booth & gift shop, little "racing" area, or maybe even to the giant tree climb in the center of everything where there's a slide to get down or they can climb through this netted maze down to the bottom..this place has made education fun again for everyone! 1000/1000 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Edit to add: I've went twice, once with my niece & sister to celebrate my nieces birthday and then again with my sister & niece (she's 5, just for reference 🙂) and brought my oldest daughter along with us (she's 12 & had a BLAST as well!)

Whether you're looking for a fun day out or an educational adventure, this museum has something exciting for every child.

Extremely fun children’s museum with tons of things for all ages to enjoy. The crochet funnel slide was a big hit. Free parking is a big bonus too.
Christina D — Google review
The Delaware Children's Museum is an interactive place for children 3-4 and up. Ot combines sports, sensory and pretend play activities. There is a water play area where children can play with boats or manipulate their own damn. In addition, there is a Cafe kids can go to to pick their own fruits and vegetables by color, pay for them, and serve their guests. Kids can dress up as pirates, use play swords, and steer a ship. There's a quicker tree trunk nook for reading books. I also thought the little mechanic shop was cool. Your little athletes may also play basketball or test their speed at pitching a ball. There is a boardwalk behind the museum with a mini gold area ad well. The only downsides were the small gift shop and parking lot. Parking is free, but it's a little walk on a hot day.

This is a great ballpark for a great team. There are tons of great food and drinks, and conveniently located right off of I-95. Parking is great, and the team store was pretty nice. The only downside was that the concession lines get extremely long.

This place was an absolute blast, loved going to eat ha game here, all canned beers (including 24oz cans) were $9 which was a lovely deal, and the person doing challenges for kids was very charismatic! Had a blast, would definitely go for another game!

The stadium is clean and well maintained. The concessions are good and decently priced. It's nice to be able to hang out and catch a ball game in Wilmington, one of its best attractions. They had a nice fireworks display after the game, capping off a fun summer evening

This was such a fun venue. The Blue Rocks were a fun team to watch. Workers were fun and friendly. Concession lines were long, so a staff increase might be needed, but even with all the people there the workers were very patient and friendly. Also, concession prices were very reasonable. And best of all, there was some history included!
LeClara G — Google review
We love minor league parks and all their quirkiness but Frawley Stadium was not ready for the crowd yesterday and it showed. Maybe it was the triple event $2 hot dogs, beer deal, fireworks night that attracted what must have been an unexpected HUGE crowd. It took forever to get into the stadium, with long lines and few ticket scanners. The concessions were impossible - we never managed to eat or get something to drink - even water was impossible to get. People around us were spending up to an hour in line. We left in the fifth and went into town for a meal. The ballpark is accessible ♿️ Parking is plentiful and free.

Just a few hours away than enjoy River walk park... located right outside the train station! There are lots of activities along the walk -restaurants.. variety -from Peruvian to Ice cream shops. Events- movie theater, mini golf, childrens museum. Art work - peppered in along the path. An extensive array of trees, plants and flowers -some native to DE I had never seen before. Yes there are benches along the path and security on bicycles -I felt very safe. I met a friend from PA here... im from MD. We had a great day here- had breakfast at the local market place than walked the path, enjoying activities as we went. Id meet here again~

Whether you're out with family, walking solo for some fresh air, or looking for a scenic backdrop for photos or content, this spot delivers. Bonus: there’s often live music or local events happening nearby, which adds to the charm. Safe, walkable, and full of character — definitely one of Delaware’s best-kept lifestyle gems. I strolled through the River Walk this past weekend. The views of Downtown Wilmington are absolutely beautiful, and the area is kept very clean. I also saw what I thought was some fauns on the other side of the river. During the walk, you will see plenty of restaurants, a beer garden, a mini-golf course (which is closed for the season), and a couple of museums that are in close proximity. The restroom is close to the Visitor's Center. This is a definite must-do whether you are a local or an out of towner like me.

Part Boardwalk part concrete walk, in downtown area, along the Christina River. Several restaurants, one was playing live music. A mini golf place, small playground, but not much else for activities. A beautiful 3-masted ship has a warf there. At the end of the it connects into a nature walk among the tidal flats. Not many people around on a mid-September Saturday afternoon. Bike rentals available. A good place for a walk or food, but not clear how lively the area is.

No charge to walk the lovely wildlife boardwalk trail. Beautiful marshlands. Didn't see any animals, not even birds which seemed strange. Still enjoyed looking at all the plants, water and flowers. There is an air- conditioned information center, if you have any questions when you arrive. Also, you can walk up the stairs in the building and get good views of the city and wildlife area. The walking/ bicycle trail is 5 miles and goes to Battery park, (so we were told). Sounds like fun!

Words can't express the natural beauty of this place and the surrounding area. Highly recommend making the trek out to check out. Good amount of parking available, but the road going back to the parking lot can be a little confusing for a moment. You can climb the steps up to the board walk or if needed there is a ramp at the bottom for wheelchair, scooters, and bicycle accommodation. Going left will take you to the Riverfront, while right will take you past the Dupont center and out over the marsh land. Enjoy the wildlife and views if the surrounding area.

Beautiful views of the swamp, including high vantage points and stairs/elevator to bottom floor, which has a quick boardwalk path through the swamp, including a pond in the middle that sometimes you can see fish and other aquatic animals. Also connects to the Jack A. Markell Trail, which with a 20min walk south brings you to the bridge crossing the Christina River. There's an education center inside that has limited hours but worth every second. Many displays inside and educators that can teach young kids, or truly anyone about the local environment!

Worth visiting if you like to a long walks. The wildlife refuge starts at the end of River walk. Very scenic place especially during evening you can find very beautiful sunset. I have uploaded few evening sky shots and sun set shots. You can either walk or take a ride on bike on the bridge. This ride will go till the start of River walk. For restrooms you will have to use the ones in restaurants beside the board walk. For this you need to ride for 5 mins towards River walk starting point.

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant is a regional chain known for its housemade beers and elevated comfort food staples. Located in an old industrial brick building, the spacious restaurant features a large bar area and their own brewery. The menu offers a variety of American fare, with dishes like jerk shrimp with amazing mango sauce, giant pieces of fish in the Baja fish taco, and excellently cooked steak.
The beer was amazing- such depth of flavor. I had fish tacos, which was SO good. My husband had the gumbo, and the strawberry goat cheese salad- both exceeded his expectations, my daughter had the raspberry pecan salad (a special at the time )- which was so fresh and lovely. The only disappointment was the pub burger that my son had, which would’ve been better if it was thicker meat- the hamburger lost all flavor under the pretzel bun. The waiter was attentive and helpful. Would definitely eat here again! The only comment is that it was really loud- not a place for intimate conversation.

Food was delicious. We shared Bavarian Pretzels which were hot and paired well with the cheese and mustard dips. We also shared the Schnitzel entree which was prefect size for sharing. We barely ate the garden salad just because everything came super quick. Service was good. A little slow to greet but not too bad. Overall a great spot I'm glad we found!

Oh my goodness, I has such a great experience here. The open patio area where the garden is located without sitting outside this place and this view is glorious. I've been to iron Hill several times, but I went to the location in Newark on main Street years ago when I lived there in Newark. I wanted to come here because I heard about the closing of the locations and now I live very close to the riverfront so it was easy for me to get an Uber right there. Just 6 minutes drive from my house. I didn't order an entree because I was dining alone but oh the food was so great and I even had some to take back home with me. Unfortunately for me, I had a little incident with my credit card and the waitress was able to help me figure it out. She was very patient with me and she made sure I had everything that I needed at my table. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to come. I think that this particular location is a Newcastle county staple.

We started off with the Everything Focaccia, served with chive butter, and it was surprisingly good! The combination of flavors was delightful, with the savory focaccia paired perfectly with the creamy, herb-infused butter. For drinks, I tried the Blackberry Lemon, which tasted fine on its own, but adding a squeeze of lemon really enhanced the flavor. My partner ordered the Peach Margarita, and it was amazing! It had the perfect balance of sweet and tangy, so good that I had to order one for myself! As for the food, my partner, a fan of fish tacos, said they were quite tasty. I went for the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was also good, although I added the butter and syrup which made it taste somewhat too sweet for me. The bartender was friendly and attentive. We arrived when the restaurant first opened and sat at the bar, and overall, we had a very pleasant experience.

What in gods name is this Caesar salad(pictured below)? It was also $20.99 🤯 I thought it would have came with fresh shaved Romano cheese and GRILLED SHRIMP. This was a SAD SALAD! I also ordered without Caesar dressing, had balsamic. I love iron hill, but wow some of their menu items have gone downhill. The focaccia pieces were hard as a rock. I ate the lettuce and some of the BOILED shrimp, then ordered hummus. The hummus needed olive oil. It’s not like it used to be. No fried chick peas. It was so dry. The service was good. We did sign up for the king of the hill because the beer was really good. My husband’s Turkey burger was delicious and the croissant pudding was better than both things I ordered. Love your strawberry margs.

Atmosphere and location are great, right by the Riverfront with a nice patio and open windows. Interior decor is clean with cool casual appeal. Food was good, got a caesar salad, steak and fries with a brambleberry beer. Steak was cooked just as requested, and fries and salad tasted good, nothing particularly outstanding food wise, it was just overall good. They have great drink options though, which is what they're known for and you should defintely check it out if that's your thing. The brambleberry beer was quite good, interesting and refreshing. Prices are very reasonable too. Check it out if you're in the area and want to grab a bite and sip some drinks by the Riverfront, that's defintely the big draw and is worth doing.

Came here with my group of frat boys the other night and we had a wonderful experience. We sat in a nice cozy booth and behaved ourselves like civilized adults. We usually eat shirtless at the frat house and get rowdy. We got wings, burgers and fries and also some grilled chicken. The food was absolutely BUSSIN and the server was really nice. Cute guy was our waiter sadly I forgot his name but us frat boys always love having cute guys as our servers. This place was really good and I even saw my bar fly aunt here blowing her money away at the bar. She got so drunk that when she got home, she forgot to rinse the soap out of the washer . Talk about being an idiot, right? This place was amazing. We will definitely be coming back me and my frat boys.

Seafood restaurant
Banks' Seafood Kitchen and Raw Bar is a stylish restaurant offering fresh seafood and a raw bar, along with riverfront views, a patio, and happy hour. The food is generally good, with some standout dishes like lobster mac and cheese and tender steak. The service is attentive and professional, although the prices are on the higher side. Despite some minor issues like watery cheese in the mac and cheese dish, overall dining experience was enjoyable. Reservations are recommended for a smooth process.
My wife and I had a fantastic experience here. If you enjoy fresh seafood this is the place. A beautifully furnished restaurant with inside and patio seating on the Christina river. The restaurant features a large selection of delicious fish and shellfish dishes, fine wines, cocktails and beer. The food is prepared in a well trained and skilled kitchen and served by knowledgeable, attentive, and pleasant staff. There is something for everyone here and it’s all outstanding. If you have the opportunity come and enjoy!

Had dinner here tonight. Enjoyed the good! Wasn’t crowded when we came in. Was able to get seated right away. Had dinner with friends. Shrimp Boil was tasty! Trout was really good! Snapper was good but done a tad more. Still tasty! Old fashioned was good and had a kick to it! Nice cozy atmosphere! Seating inside as well as outside. Also booth seating and a bar.

I patronized Banks Seafood recently, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The customer service was excellent, we sat at the bar, and the bartender was amazing (I wish I could remember his name!). The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, clean and welcoming. As for the food, it was hit or miss: I started with the New England clam chowder, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The consistency and taste were just off, definitely not the creamy, flavorful chowder I was hoping for. Ended up sending it back. The crab cake platter was the highlight, absolutely delicious and well-seasoned. The seafood nachos were just okay; they lacked the flavor I was expecting and could use a bit more punch. Overall, I’d come back for the great service and crab cakes, but I hope they revamp the clam chowder recipe!

The food was good - not great. Location probably drives the price up a bit. The tuna nachos and lobster bin salad were economical for the price! The service was great!

Nice restaurant off the Delaware water front, no wait seated right away, friendly staff, free parking, love the chairs with the bar to pull chairs in and out easy ,also Love indent in the glasses to grab easy, in door and outdoor seating, a bit pricey, nice atmosphere, fried calamari little greasy, side asparagus and french cut fries hot and delicious.

This was the first place I went to upon arrival to Wilmington. The bartender was great. Full service bar. First visit I had the Salmon with Parmesan Garlic baby potatoes. Delicious. A couple days later I had the Crunchiest most yummiest Salmon Crocketts. And then the Salmon burger. Great choice. Will be my go to when in town. Thanks for the great service both times. Oh and my Favorite Margarita.

Absolutely Extraordinary food! Best food on the Riverfront! 11/10 Go for the Tasting Menu and prepare to be blown away.

Very quaint small restaurant with a tiny kitchen. Food was very well thought out and creative but tartare should have been fully chilled; onion soup should have been hot. Lamb was excellent and dessert also a treat! Service as very fast. Wine I would recommend getting a bottle for the whole meal, because of how fast it came out we weren’t done with two courses of wine.

Excellent! We did the 4 course dinner for $44 and it was delightful and delicious! We went there early one night and while we were the only ones there then - the Chef did not dial it in. After we told them what we didn’t want (beets, pork, lamb or heavy dairy) we enjoyed a well paced dinner that included things I wouldn’t normally have ordered but loved. Like pumpkin tortellini with a reduction of cranberries and light feta cheese. Seriously great food and perfect portions. We’ll be back much sooner than later;)

Update from 6/5/21: Still 10/10 experience. We’ve been coming here for about 2 years and they debuted a new menu recently. My now husband and I decided to have a small 8 person dinner here after our wedding and everything was phenomenal. They expertly cater to dietary needs and continue to offer amazing service! Thank you!!! The place to come for a consistently excellent meal! We went here prior to the pandemic 2-3 times and they were good, just went again and they did not disappoint. Joe the waiter was everywhere and they had almost a full house. I’ve gotten the gnocchi salad every time I’ve been and it’s always good...the truffle! Venu the owner was also running the wine side and helping Joe. There’s a reason the place was packed! All vegetable options on the menu can be made vegan. I had the gnocchi and the carrots, both amazing flavors!

Amazing restaurant for tapas. Two owners, one runs the kitchen, the other runs the front of house. It is one of the smallest restaurants I've ever been to, but definitely worth visiting! My party and I had a five course tasting and the service, presentation, and foods definitely lived up to our expectations. Each course was unique and, together, we had plenty of food while each serving was relatively small. We were also served some amazing desserts. Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Wilmington.

Before entering the restaurant I had glanced in the window from outside where you could see the bar. Closest to the window was a table with a laptop and two plates of half eaten hoagie pieces. The bar itself was empty but had multiple empty glasses, plates of food and a takeout cup from another restaurant. My first impression was off to a bad start for my first time dining at Ciro. We were a group of four people dining out for restaurant week. We selected multiple plates per course so we could taste a variety of dishes. Two of us chose to add a fourth course option in addition to the three courses that were offered. The two options were rock shrimp and gnocchi. Both of the plates had dry herbs in their sauces and the shrimp were not rock shrimp, they were typical baby shrimp. I wouldn’t expect this from a restaurant of this caliber. One of the entree choices was crab cakes. I chose these and was very disappointed. The crab was disintegrated into unrecognizable salty mounds on top of mashed potatoes. We had a melon and prosciutto plate which was very nice as well as the short rib entree. We selected a chocolate lava cake and lemon tart for dessert, both of these were excellent. We also enjoyed a bottle of Tempranillo wine, very nice selection. To sum it up I was just very underwhelmed when I had great expectations.

I dine here often and the food never disappoints - absolutely delicious! We had a private party here for my mom’s 60th birthday and it was beautiful! We had a curated menu including dishes my mom loves and everything was excellent. Outstanding service - everyone is so helpful and accommodating and we never had to wait for anything. If you ever have a chance go and try the chefs tasting menu you must try - you will be hooked!!

Big Fish Grill on the Riverfront offers a casual and family-friendly dining experience with a scenic riverfront view. The restaurant is known for serving hearty platters of fresh seafood dishes that are perfect for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors have praised the warm and welcoming atmosphere, as well as the exceptional quality and taste of the food. Outdoor seating by the waterfront provides a picturesque setting for enjoying delicious meals such as spicy shrimp and crab pasta, swordfish, or blackened sockeye salmon.
We enjoyed a wonderful meal @Big Fish! The wine (Stella Rosa Moscata D’asti) paired with the Fried Texas Gulf Shrimp, Maple Glazed Carrots and Neva’s Potatoes was delicious! As long-standing customers of this restaurant, we always appreciate the excellent service we consistently receive. The meals are served hot and quick, giving the customer time to savor them. Three Cheers to Jax for a job well done!

The service was great. They kept our drinks full and food came timely. We had an appetizer, meal and drinks. The calamari was the best part of the meal and tasted like the breaded it there. The fish dishes weren’t local and tasted like a routine meal served luke warm. This place could be great for a happy hour or on the patio but besides the service there may be better options in the area.

The service was very good! From everyone all servers were friendly and accommodating. The mussels were small but ok. This fish was well cooked and well seasoned!! Fries were delicious! My friends dish I tasted and it was also delicious!

So this place has really cool décor, big game fish throughout, cool models, a great bar, great takeout access, and an awesome location on the river, situated in a very large big-box-style parking lot with loads of parking. The problem is the food wasn’t stellar, and the service was spotty. The clam chowder was too acidic and soupy, not like a chowder. The rainbow trout was really dry and tasteless, as was the Cajun rice, it lacked flavor and moisture. The pasta was decent, but it too was too firm, and the taste wasn’t there. The crab cakes had the perfect amount of crab in them but were beyond bland. So, needless to say, we weren’t impressed with the food or the service, but the location is cool for where it’s at.

This place is sitting n8cely by the river front. A walk by the river before or after is very nice. They have outside tables as well. It has plenty of parking. Food were quite good. I hesitantly ordered salmon but it very nicely cooked. It wasn't overcooked which I found most restaurants do. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Price is a bit on the high side. Great for an special occasion.

The Clifford Brown Jazz Fest needs a larger venue, or charge for tickets. The only night it wasn't rained out had wall to wall guests, spilled out onto the streets. People were talking instead of appreciating the music. Probably won't return if it’s held here next year.

Performing arts theater
The Playhouse on Rodney Square, located at the Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, offers a diverse range of entertainment including Broadway musicals, stand-up comedy, and concerts. The theater company presents a mix of classic and modern plays throughout the year. While some visitors have noted minor issues with seating comfort and facilities maintenance, many praise the beautiful venue and helpful staff. With its good acoustics and excellent views from most seats, it continues to be a popular choice for enjoying great theater performances.
Saw the Nutcracker here and it was great. Seats are small, but still a great time. Valet is available, bathrooms were clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful.

loved the show, super cute theater, but rude staff. Some staff at window call and that let you in at entrance door are so rude and don't want to deal with your questions and be bothered. One lady rolled her eyes at me for asking a question. The show starts, probably five ushers in the back talking so loud that more than a dozen audience members had to Shhh them. You couldn't hear the beginning of the show. They say turn your phone off then an usher was on her phone whole time sitting behind me. It's not that i cared she was on her phone, it's the fact that we're told to turn them off and i'm sure if i went on mine during the show i would have been thrown out. The stairs to the bathroom are so tight you can't even form a line to get to the rest room. I would only come back here to see a show i really wanted to see. But some of the ushers and workers there were just kinda rude and inconsiderate. These all may sound like trivial things, so do with it what you will.
Molly R — Google review
We were so excited to come here and see Patton Oswalt last night. The space was beautiful, very ornate and well cared for. My husband purchased tickets in advance, got us seats with a good view. We had never been and the staff got us the the right section but direct us to the wrong seats, not once but twice. It was a bit of a hastle. Finally we found our seats on our own, right before the event started. It all worked out but having arrived 30min early to avoid the dash to find our seats it was a bit frustrating. They were very friendly about it just clearly a bit confused as to where we were supposed to sit. The show was great, but I will warn you the seats are very cramped. I'm slightly taller than average and my knees were digging into the row ahead of us. I felt so bad for the 6 foot man next to me who was folded into a pretzel to fit in his space. All in all we did have a good time but I don't think I would come here for a longer event simply because it wasn't very comfortable.
Lyn D — Google review
Do not get seats in the mid Balcony! We tried to sit in our row B seats but couldn’t fit - our average-sized legs were too long! I would have had to spread my legs (and have my purse between them to hold down my skirt) and not move an inch for the whole performance. Noped out of there instantly and complained to the ushers who said that maybe they? someone? could reseat us, but didn’t help us do that so no Hadestown for us. Those seats should come with a warning. We’ve attended many performances here and never had seats like that. Uncomfortable doesn’t even begin to cover it.
Lynn K — Google review
Saw ‘Hairspray’ at this theater which was an amazing performance! Broadway quality performance, will be going back. Theater itself is pretty, but our legs didn’t fit in our seats and our knees hit the seats in front of us (we had to sit sideways). It was very very cold inside, and a toilet flooded the women’s bathroom. Few renovations and it could be a stunning venue!
Caroline F — Google review
The view from most all seats are great. The tickets to The Wizard of Oz were a little pricey. We thoroughly enjoyed the show. The reason for the 4 star review is that the seats are quite uncomfortable. We will go again in December to see the Illusionists. Very hard to find parking for a truck. The garages have low ceilings.

A very old playhouse in the Hotel DuPont. Limited views in the corners if your sitting there. Men's room in the basement, Women's room up stairs and on the main floor. Snacks and a limited bar. Set right in the heart of downtown Wilmington.
Steve L — Google review
The building is easy to get to and there are a lot of parking options around. The seats however are awful. Unless you are sitting at the outer end of the rows, there's no leg room at all. We moved our seats and sacrifices view to he more comfortable. Aside from that, it's fantastic!

This was my first time going to the Riverfront Market located in Wilmington DE. Here you'll find great eateries inside the marketplace. There is something for everyone to eat such as fresh fruit, sushi, soul food, seafood, the list goes on, oh and not to mention the delicious baked goods! After we ate, we took a nice stroll along side the Waterfront and just relaxed in the sun along side the other folks sitting about on benches or the grassy areas. Located on a riverfront site, Hagley Museum is a historical gem showcasing the regional industrial history, including gunpowder mills and the du Pont home. The museum and library are situated on a vast 200-acre campus with preserved historic buildings and picturesque views of Brandywine Creek. Visitors can explore the original du Pont gunpowder factory and view thousands of patent models.
I really enjoyed the tours and demonstrations the gunpowder demo and machinists workshop were pretty darn cool. The grounds and gardens were lovely. The house was beautiful too. I enjoyed the office area and the old car exhibit as well. I may go back yo see more of the invention area. I thought it was a cool way to spend an afternoon

A must if you’re in the area! Absolutely a gem of a property! This is so much more than just the Hagley residence. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and kept in great condition! Live demos along the pathway and a shuttle that takes you to the home. I visited on a holiday just as they opened and didn’t have to wait very long for anything! All of the tour guides were very knowledgeable, tons to do and see pending on how much time you have. Add this to your DuPont home tours 🤍

Wow! Just terrific place. I had no idea what to expect, and unfortunately did come early enough to explore the second floor. The vibrancy, colors, layout and lighting make this place eye candy. It's such an appealing way for adults and children to learn about innovation, invention and patents with real patent models. Highly recommend. Come learn about improving the mousetrap, toilet, hairbrush and everything else. It's obvious that lots of money, time and thought is invested to make this place inviting for everyone.

We didn't expect to spend as much time as we did, and wish we had spent more time than we did. The initial display of inventions set the stage for the DuPont story. That, and an entrepreneurial spirit were on display at this museum. The tour of the mansion was informative and demonstrated house remodeling is not new. The cars and carriages were nice for a small collection. My favorite part of the "museum" was the demonstration of water turbine driven metal working equipment. I also liked the models of the making of gun powder, and the demonstration of how gun powder was tested for quality. I highly recommend this museum that is located in a beautiful setting.

Great place to visit. Came around 3pm, only the two of us on the shuttle to the Du Pont house. Incredible place! My mom and I are vendors for their annual arts festa d the staff are extremely helpful, they are so kind and thoughtful! They go above and beyond for their vendors by even providing free refreshments for us during the event! Beautifully well kept grounds and stunning pieces of history! It’s a must go type of place to explore!

DECO Wilmington, located in the historic DuPont Building, offers a diverse range of culinary options. This food court features eight distinct restaurant stalls, an inviting atrium bar, and private event space. It presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate Wilmington's HBCU community while showing support for Black-owned restaurants. The BRW logo serves as a marker for these establishments. Among the various cuisines available, Connie's Chicken and Waffles is particularly noteworthy for its delectable offerings.
Nice casual place for drinks and food. We usually bring kids over for happy hour time. Food are good.

This food hall is nicely curated and set up. The food here was great and there were a lot of options to choose from. I think a lot of the businesses are owned by bardea restaurant group, but that didn’t bother me because those people know food. Such a great stop that we ended up coming to this food hall twice!

The bartender I had wasn't good at ALL! She stayed on her phone and I had to call her to get service multiple times. The old fashioned I asked for had NO muttled fruit at all. I had to ask for the fruit and it was just simply dropped in the drink. The cocktails are reasonable and it's not bad but she just seems likes she don't give a rats a$$.

I love coming to this hall! I usually stop by for the Bean by Bardea matcha. It’s honestly the best matcha in the area. The baristas are friendly, and the seating/decor makes it such a comfy spot to relax a bit if you wanted to do some work. I like bringing my laptop and sitting for a bit while I enjoy my drink. I’m new to the area, but FYI for BPG residents: you get a discount with your Live Work Play membership, which is such a nice bonus. Definitely recommend checking it out!

We had so much fun here! The food was all delicious and we enjoyed that we were able to order different types of food and still eat together! The overall ambiance is very chill and relaxed and seems like a fun place to meet up with friends!

Ordered curbside for Angelos and paid additional 25% for the service. When I arrived they said there is no curbside service. I was unable to leave my car and was told they are unable to provide a refund unless I come inside. $25 and a wasted drive to Wilmington.

I got the shrimp tacos from taqueria el chingon and they were definitely the best I’ve ever had! They were so good and they came out pretty fast!

French restaurant
Le Cavalier is a high-end French restaurant located in the formal dining room of a 1913 Italian Renaissance hotel. The dining room boasts historic character with high, painted ceilings and velvet banquettes. The menu features exceptional French dishes such as poached lobster tails in a creamy sauce and French onion soup topped with three cheeses.
Came for a winter Sunday midday dessert with my family, and it was cozy and sweet. The desserts and coffee were all delicious. The space is unmatched. The historical interior is something that cannot be replicated. You must go simply to be in a space that will inspire and delight.

Arrived with a reservation for a special occasion to an empty hostess stand. Ten minutes later a new group arrives, waltzes past both the hostess stand and our party of five and is immediately seated. This was followed by an insincere apology by the manager, who to be fair did appear overwhelmed. Service did not really improve. As for the food, the steak tartare was the reason we chose this restaurant. The portion was generous, though I would have much preferred an option for toast as a side instead of the fries. However it was overall unremarkable. At least two members of our group were disappointed in their portions, for the oatmeal and parfait. The parfait may have been more accurately described as a fruit cup. Despite the beautiful setting, I would likely not go back.

Gorgeous décoration. Comfortable seating. Intimate atmosphere. Music is pleasant in the background. The food isn't true French, but is inspired and delicious. We had the plateau. We were missing our mussels, but did not bother to ask for a correction. The oysters were excellent. Lobster was nice. Shrimp were nice. Didn't care for the tartare. (Personal preference) I had the onion soup which was VERY tasty. Then I had the Elysian Fields Lamb Loin. The lamb was delicious, cooked true to temp, and tender. I didn't like the chickpeas as the flavor was too much of a contrast to the lamb for my taste. I also ordered local mushrooms but did not receive this side. The dessert was one of my favorites.. chocolate mousse. I meant to eat only a couple bites but nearly ate the whole thing. While my waitress was delightful in personality and graciousness, I was disappointed in missing a couple of items on the menu. She was enjoyable and I would come back to her section in the future. I'd recommend ensuring the server you have has your order down. I also ordered the filet in the morning. It was delicious. I was very happy to receive it rare. Potatoes were cooked to perfection: crispy outside, tender inside & full of savory flavor. The greenbeans were also very good. I'd return to this restaurant again.
Alice — Google review
A really beautiful historical restaurant that's over 100 years old. French cuisine was available, though this morning's menu was not the same brunch menu as listed online, maybe we needed to special request brunch instead of lunch? Service was absolutely amazing. Our server listened to my love of sweeter coffee and took it upon herself to serve my cappuccino with extra sugar cubes as an assisted service. The food was delightful. We weren't too adventurous into the French cuisine since it was early morning still, but my onion soup was a delightful balance of all the ingredients. It was packed with flavor without feeling overall too salty like so many onion soups lean. The haricots verts were buttery and very well seasoned, and my husband's green salad that came with his omelette had a lovely light and well seasoned dressing perfect for a morning meal. The building is gorgeous even when it shows some wear from age like the du pont itself, with so much sculpted detail and a beautiful bar area.

Had delicious brunch: avocado toast with poached eggs. They also serve a high quality tea! Great place with great gatsby era vibe.

Le Cavalier is hands down the best dining experience I’ve ever had. From the warm, attentive staff to the music and atmosphere, everything was flawless. We started with fromage & saucisson, followed by a steak au poivre cooked to absolute perfection and a chicken cotelette that was just as impressive. The presentation, the service, the vibe—it all came together like a masterpiece. If you want a night you’ll never forget, this is the place.

Beautiful place, no doubt — I guess that’s what the“environment fee” is for. But apparently the environment didn’t include bread basket for my table (every other table had it). Nice touch: asked if bottled water was ‘ok,’ never told about the free tap option, then charged $8. Service? Let’s just say I only existed once my server had circled the other tables a couple of times. If you enjoy paying premium prices to practice patience, this is your spot.

Everything was very impressive, but I would like to see more variety in the menu.

Wilma's is a unique spot in Wilmington that offers a blend of frozen rum cocktails, ten-pin bowling, and delicious food. The venue features a sunny bar and lounge with four lanes for ten-pin bowling, offering a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Inspired by New Orleans, Wilma's serves up Cajun cuisine alongside craft beers.
We had an amazing experience! We tried the Thursday tasting menu special and it was so much fun. We got to try 12 different things on the menu. The pork belly and crab dip were amazing! The crab cake and shrimp and grits were equally delicious. There were great gluten free options. The manager was very friendly and answered all our questions. The space was both historic and modern. We would definitely come again. Even took home a Photo Booth souvenir!

The high ceilings are everything! Started off with some water and THE SOUTHERN DRAWL to drink. For appies we did the GUMBO w/ grits instead of rice, 10/10 amazing! So delicious, kinda mad we shared it :) My entree was the JAIL ISLAND SALMON.. my first time having couscous and I loved every bit of it. Full of flavor and entree was nice and hot coming out. I ordered BEIGNETS to go and ugh, chefs kiss. Sorry I devoured them before getting one single picture. Now I need to get back there for the bananas foster! Last but certainly not least, our server was prompt and definitely gave the best recommendations for the menu, thanks Girlie!

We did bowling and had food and drinks! Really great spot the fries were homemade and bomb. The salmon BLT was giant and full of bacon. The drinks were strong and bowling was very fun!

Food is tasty, portion is large, staff is warm and friendly, quite about half of what we ordered was out, grits could have done with one more shrimp the next one was definitely better. Atmosphere was it for me. Music could also be better.

Me and my girlfriend went there for brunch and oh my God the shrimp and grits with Dewey was amazing. She had a Benedict dish. We sat there for two hours. Our waitress was amazing.. I had espresso martinis. She had pomegranate mimosas it was a wonderful day. It was really a beautiful day. The food was great. The service was great, and even though some customers really tried to complain, it was an amazing day.

The Shrimp and Grits & Fried Catfish were delicious and our server was AMAZING. It got a little loud due to a child's b/d party being held in the mini bowling alley, but we didn't mind. I will definitely return!

Wilma’s upon entry was gorgeous and I had high hopes. Sadly, that changed quickly. We had a reservation for a 5 top and were seated at a 4 top. A 5th chair was promised by multiple associates but never arrived. We were moved to the back of the restaurant to accommodate 5- right in front of the dj’s set up with a speaker placed not 1 foot away from our table- pointed directly at us. The music was so loud, our Apple Watches were sounding alarms warning us of hearing damage due to a loud environment. It was impossible to have any form of conversation- even with the wait staff when we asked repeatedly for the dj to turn it down or move the speaker further from us. I had to go to the bar and ask for water glasses and utensils since none were given to us when they moved our table. Two of us ordered the steak and eggs and our steaks were completely and utterly raw and ice cold. They barely had a sear. I couldn’t eat any of it and would have returned it if we ever saw our server again. I had to return to the bar once again to ask for our check so we could get out of there. The cherry on top was no soap in the bathroom. Hopefully the staff aren’t using that same bathroom to cook the food. The staff was horrendous and rude. The food was inedible and poorly executed, and the atmosphere was incredibly uncomfortable aside from being visually beautiful. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone, and I surely will never return.

Nestled on Market Street, Bardea Food & Drink is a contemporary bistro that beautifully marries elevated Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Since its inception in 2018, this culinary gem has become a beacon for food lovers, drawing patrons from near and far to savor its innovative dishes crafted from fresh ingredients sourced from local Delaware Valley farms.
If I could give this 10/5 stars, I would. The atmosphere was great. The food was beyond amazing. When each serving was presented, it was its own moment. The eggplant Parmesan was the best I’ve ever had. The branzino was possibly the most amazing fish I’ve ever had. Luke G was our waiter and he was fantastic. He was extremely thorough with my food restrictions and allergens (which are many) and the way he treated made it the most enjoyable restaurant experience I’ve had. He explained everything really well and was extremely attentive. Money was so worth it!

Bardea in Wilmington is an absolute culinary triumph! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with great service that is both professional and genuinely warm, making you feel right at home. But let's talk about the food – it was truly fantastic! Every dish we tried was a work of art, bursting with incredible flavors and creative twists on Italian classics. It's clear why they've garnered national attention. And to complement the exquisite meal, their drinks were great as well, perfectly crafted and adding to the overall luxurious experience. Bardea is a definite five-star experience and a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in Wilmington.

Upscale with excellent food! The wait staff and servers definitely know how to describe the excellent food they are serving and can help guide your selection. The portions are small but the taste is rich, really a great atmosphere and experience — in their 7th year (2025).

Fantastic small plates, a real culinary experience! Really nice place, with incredibly diverse menu with amazing tastes and presentations. This is a gem of Wilmington. Service is top notch, our server Chanelle was so nice and provided us with outstanding service and the perfect recommendations for us to try. I would happily return to this place, it was a next level culinary masterpiece.

BARDEA SHOULD HAVE A MICHELIN STAR!! This underrated place in Wilmington downtown area blew our minds away. Very few restaurants make classic food into fusion food work from concept to the table -in this case elevated Italian cuisine. And no it's not your regular red sauce pasta or wood fired pizza. Yukta was the sweetest server ever. Her recommendations were phenomenal. I was celebrating my birthday and atleast 3-4 people wished me and made my day. That's how you know the restaurant works really well as a team. Coming to the food - the focus is on small portion which is genius because we got to try a lot of food. Cocktails were the right amount of booze and flavor. We started off with Pop tart - imagine buttery flaky pastry filled with ozzy burrata. Mind blowing and must have. Next we tried chicken parm bao - chicken was melt in mouth and bao was silky soft. For mains we went all vegetarian. Sweet Potato - It was the star of the night. Cannot imagine how they transformed the humble sweet potato into something so delicious. It had like 3-4 main ingredients and that's it. I can have it as meal everyday. Eggplant parm was so light and airy. It wasn't mushy and had the right texture to support stuffed mozzarella inside. To end this amazing joyride we had tiramisu which was drenched in caramel sauce and topped with a kahlua ice cream. Phenomenal. The raspberry panna cotta looked like it came straight off a MasterChef kitchen. This dessert was well thought of and the ingredients paired really well together. I will visit this restaurant again to try the rest of the menu. It's a gem of a restaurant and loved the hospitality. The research and innovation is outstanding. I hope it receives the recognition it deserves.

What an excellent way to celebrate your birthday by having an awesome meal experience at Barde of food and drink. We can honestly say we do not have a favorite item that we tried. They were all incredibly delicious. If you’re interested in trying something new, definitely quite the experience of culinary delight. This is the place to go. We do have to say that they had a scallop tasting on a rice crisp that was just exciting to our pallets. And to top it off because it was a birthday dinner the chef was so nice to sign the menu so I could take it home. ❤️✌🏽🥳👏🏽 definitely a Michelin star contender.

I reserved a table for my birthday earlier this month but left due to poor service. My husband and I were seated, received the appetizer but never got the main courses. We both ordered pasta and that's easy and quick to make. The server who had a rude undertone along with the manager both apologized for the delay, stated the food was on the way, but again nothing came out. Initially, the server said the plates were being garnished but that was about 10 minutes or so before the manager stated the same. At some point, hubby and I got fed up and left because the wait was uncalled for. When we spoke to the manager or whatever she was, she "acted" mortified that we received this type of service and also said it wasn't in good taste. Her actions showed she was full of it with her hands crossed across her chest as though she was ashamed. SMH. My husband wrote a review on the company website, received a note from an owner to speak about the experience but have yet to hear of anything. Needless to say, we won't return despite the food being good.

We had dinner here on New Year’s Eve and it was a nice, upscale spot with some fancy menu options. The food was good! We ordered the Margherita pizza and Momma’s meatballs, and everything we tried was tasty (wish I could remember what else we got!). Only downside was the atmosphere, it was really loud, and the tables were super close together. We could barely hear each other, and the group next to us was so loud we could hear their conversation better than our own.
