I've been a loyal customer of this bakery for over 10 years and have even recommended it to my family and colleagues. However, I feel that the quality of some of their baked goods has declined. Today, I stopped by for a mini caramel apple cheesecake, and to my surprise, the price had increased, the portion was smaller, and the texture was noticeably different from what I’ve had before. The cheesecake was unusually soft and less than an inch thick. I can understand a price increase if the portion size remains the same, but raising the price while reducing the quantity doesn’t sit well with me.

Highly disappointed. I basically purchased $50 of frosting. The cake to frosting ratio is off. The cake was extremely moist. I purchased an already prepared cake, so it may have been old. The cake, what little of it there was, shared the same consistency as the frosting. We ate it straight from the fridge and it was mushy. This was for my daughter's birthday so what a disappointment. I was recommended here by a local (i didn't want to drive to Whole Foods). I don't recommend. I should of just went to Whole Foods or Nothing Bundt Cake (about the same driving distance from each other).

I ordered a carrot cake for a baby shower and it exceeded my expectations! I sent in a photo and brought in an arrangement and they did an amazing job! Everyone at the shower were blown away at how beautiful it was and it tasted heavenly! It was too sweet. I was so happy to have leftovers! We always go and get items out of the case and love them! This is the first time I had a custom cake made! This is definitely my go to bakery from now on! Wanted to give a huge shout out to the team that made our cake, we couldn’t have been happier!!! Sweet Somethings is the best place in the area for a sweet treat! Whether it's stopping in for just a cupcake or ordering a cake, everything has been delicious in my two years of frequenting the bakery. I ordered two 10" cakes for grandfather's birthday (Death by Chocolate and a Strawberry Shortcake) and everyone was absolutely raving. The cakes were as gorgeous as they were tasty - the birthday writing on the cake was perfect. I was so over the moon with the Strawberry Shortcake that I took the remaining portion to make Sweet Somethings lovers out of some others. All that being said about their yummy goods, they are the most welcoming staff. Everyone is always so kind and helpful. Go stop in and grab a treat - we're so lucky to have this bakery in our neighborhood!

Although we had a bad experience a few years ago we came back and gave them another chance. Sweet Somethings has made my kids’ birthday cakes for the last 6 out of 8 birthdays. They make beautiful cakes and this year was no exception. We LOVE the marble cake and it’s the go to birthday cake for my twins. We hope to continue the tradition for years to come.

I came in the other day for the first time to pick up a last minute cake for my son’s birthday. I was pleasantly surprised at the shop’s atmosphere when I first walked in. As I was looking at the options still available in the case, we went with the s’mores cake. We were all blown away by how good the cake was. My wife, who is not a fan of chocolate mousse, stated it was a top five cake of all time for her. We will definitely be going back. Glad to have found this place.

This was my first time trying Sweet Somethings and I was not disappointed! I purchased a variety of items for my son's rehearsal dinner and everything was delicious. Key lime cupcakes and cheesecake, Smores cheesecake, Chocolate chip cookies, and last but not least Cookie dough cupcakes and tarts...all were amazing!

I ordered a cake from Cakes by Kim LLC, Wilmington, DE for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday, and it was a complete disappointment. When I picked it up, it looked great, but within 15 minutes of getting home, it had melted almost completely! I paid $108 for a 6-inch buttercream cake, and it was completely ruined before we even had a chance to celebrate. When I called the bakery, I was passed between three different people over the course of 30 minutes. Instead of taking any responsibility or offering a solution, they just made excuse after excuse. They claimed my cake had been refrigerated for hours and that it was “impossible” for it to melt that quickly—but anyone who knows cakes knows that a properly refrigerated buttercream cake would NOT melt like that. After basically telling me they weren’t going to do anything about it, the manager hung up on me. This was a terrible experience, both with the cake and the customer service. For the price I paid, I expected better quality and at least some accountability. I will never order from them again, and I highly recommend going somewhere else if you want a reliable bakery that stands behind their work. The pictures below of the $108 cake is after me trying to smooth it out a little bit to make it look a little decent which there was no help for it. it was very frustrating and upsetting how these so called professionals treated a new customer.

The most beautiful and delicious wedding cake! We are so thankful to Kim and her team. We LOVED our cake and plan to order some mini versions for our anniversary! The tasting was so thorough and fun!

I had a wedding dinner at a restaurant this past Saturday . I contacted this bakery and they offered delivery and to make my cake as close as the picture i showed them. When i arrived at the restaurant the cake was brought out and taking out the box when we all saw the cake was dented. I paid $430 for this cake! When i contacted them and ask for a manger to contact me asap the response was that the cake was in tacked when it left the bakery. So clearly OBVIOUSLY the accident happened when your delivery person delivered it. I sent pictures for proof. At lease something could have been done. I did pay $430. Also everyone saw the cake. It’s a shame because the cake could have been beautiful especially when ir was suppose to be for a WEDDING dinner. Never again will get a cake from. I ADVISE ANYONE WHO SEES THIS. DO NOT GET A CAKE FROM HERE. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE! I’m very disappointed!

The weekend of Easter and 9 days before my daughter’s birthday I asked for what I thought was the impossible! Turns out NOTHING is impossible for Cakes by Kim. This was a custom order and I couldn’t be any more grateful for a job well done! Kim’s will forever be my families go to bakery hands down. Thanks for your hard-work, dedication and creativity

I love Cakes by Kim. The store has a warm and inviting atmosphere with lots of delicious-looking pastries on display. The prices are good and the quality is excellent. I love that you can see the kitchen from the front of the store. It looks clean and orderly. The staff is always friendly. I enjoy their danishes, croissants, and cupcakes, and the staff told me to call them first thing in the morning with any special requests for type of filling or icing and they’ll have them finished later the same day. My wife and son also love the pastries, especially the cupcakes and cake pops. Everything I have tried is always excellent. The croissants and danishes are flaky and moist with a very delicate texture—not chewy at all. The fruit fillings are always perfect and the right balance of tart and sweet while the chocolate fillings are deep, rich, and velvety. The cupcakes are always moist with wonderful flavor and creamy icing. I’ve tried other bakeries in the area and Cakes by Kim is head and shoulders above the rest. A+

We celebrated my daughter's 1st birthday was at Jurassic Fun Land in Newark, DE. Her theme was a baby girl pink dinosaur smash cake, with her uncle's blue dinosaur acknowledgement cake. We had such a successful 1st birthday party for our daughter! Her uncle's acknowledgement cake was the perfect cake to accompany hers. The mini chocolate chip cookie cakes were delicious and the perfect treat for everyone to enjoy! Our family loved how they looked and tasted! Once we put the cake and decorations together, it was a perfect match!!!

I will come back to Cakes by Kim for every cake purchase in my future. I went to another bakery in Delaware first and was quoted an outrageous $220 price for my son’s birthday cake so I walked out. I proceeded to look up other bakerys in the area and decided to check out Cakes by Kim. Not only was their price insanely reasonable but the cake was DELICIOUS. The best cake I’ve had in years! The cake itself was so moist and the icing was perfection. Everyone at my son’s party was asking where I got it from and wanted extra to take home. Everyone who works inside the bakery is so nice, I don’t have a single bad thing to say.

I wanted to try a different place so I decided to come here. The woman that attended us was pretty distracted and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there. We were the only customers. I got a banana split it was about 12 dollars which is a little more expensive since I usually pay half the price, maybe it was the toppings I didn’t really want any but the ice cream itself wasn’t too bad. They do have lots of other flavors so that’s good. Maybe I’ll try something different next time, :))

Huge amount of ice cream! I got one scoop and it was two at least. Which is great, sometimes one scoop is tiny. It’s only $4 for one scoop, $2 for the special cone I got. Lots of ice cream for $6, which would have been $10-$14 in NYC. This was a nice treat and I never had mint moose tracks, it combined my two favorites, mint and fudge. There were so many chunks in it. So good! It was really hot in there, it was 20 degrees cooler outside. I felt bad for the workers. Ice cream wasn’t melted though and workers where so nice.

It's fine. But probably will stick to our usual places. People kept leaving the bathroom door open so it had a funny smell in the shop. The ice cream had a bit of an after taste and I couldn't determine whether it was just the flavor I chose or something else. But open to trying again.

love this place so cute and homey! recently had my daughter 9th birthday ice cream celebration here and the staff and owner Megan were awesome to work with. Very affordable. The kids had a great time. I was able to get in early and decorate and brought my own food and drinks. Most places don’t allow to do so anymore so I was thankful we could at Sweet Lucy’s! Highly recommend

Ordered my Dad the largest birthday ice cream cake WITHOUT fudge in the middle. We went over that 3 times. I happily paid the $65 and generously tipped the cake maker in cash. Got home and there was fudge. We threw the cake away. I messaged the owner pictures of the cake. She apologized and sent me a $20 gift certificate as a way to say sorry. I will never go there or recommend them to anyone.

We’re regulars at this cozy little shop. They have a great variety of ice cream flavors and toppings, and every flavor I’ve tried has been delicious. The employees are always friendly and welcoming.

This is a very nice ice cream shop. You can sample the ice cream before you try it. There is a small area for eating in as well. You can get a variety of toppings as well as a choice of cup or cone. They have bottled water and a unisex bathroom. It’s in a strip with Mclaren’s Irish Pub and there is free parking. Definitely worth a check out!

I visited this ice cream shop on a whim. It was close to my hotel. They had a lot of flavors of ice cream and they also have an assortment of gelato flavors. They had cones too but since Im gluten free I just had a small cup which was huge for 5.95. I had chocolate and mint chocolate chip. Very tasty. I would go again.

Been coming here for years and generally they have great dessert. Had to bump it down a notch because the last time I went a portion of the brownie I ordered was rock hard. We could barely break it with a silver spoon

I’ve been a loyal customer since Sweet Nel’s first opened, and I truly enjoyed the experience in the beginning. Unfortunately, my recent visits have been disappointing and far from what I once looked forward to. I’m not sure if there’s been a change in management, but the quality and consistency have noticeably declined. Each time I visited, I ordered the same dish, waffles and ice cream, which used to be a favorite. However, on my last three visits, the waffles had a sour, undercooked taste that suggested they may have been on the verge of spoiling. As someone who works in the food industry and has cooked in several restaurants, I understand how important proper food handling and safety are. It’s not just the waffles, it’s the entire experience. On each of my last visits, I wasn’t greeted upon entering. There was no “Welcome,” no introduction, no “ HI! Or HELLO My name is _______ How can I help you today?” which are simple gestures that make a big difference. At one point, I even saw an employee sitting on the one of countertop, which raised serious concerns about sanitation and professionalism. It also appeared that much of the staff lacked experience, which may be contributing to the inconsistency. Despite my disappointment, I gave it a few chances, hoping to relive the great first experience, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. Regretfully, I won’t be returning. I do, however, wish this Wilmington, Delaware location all the best moving forward and hope improvements are made for future customers. July 21, 2025 rough 4 pm was my last visit

Great local sweets shop! We stopped here for some gelato and a crepe, and both were very good. The ice cream flavors were exciting went we enjoyed the ones we got. And they even included a free "Nelly" on top, which is a mini scoop of any flavor we went to try. My husband really enjoyed the coconut flavor! The only complaint is that you can't get any free samples. But they do allow you to get two flavors for the small size + the Nelly on top, for a total of three flavors. Overall, it's a great place and definitely recommend it.

Stopped in to grab some breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was good overall. We had a crepe with ham, spinach, and egg, with spicy pesto. It was very good! The waffle we had was a little disappointing. The fruit toppings were super fresh but the waffle itself wasn't very soft and didn't have much taste. The lattes we had were good. We didn't have ice cream but they have a lot of selections if that is what you are interested in.

Besides the amazing ice cream, they have an amazing manager named Juliana. She was able to help us out the same day when we were having some issues (our fault) for a corporate catering order. We appreciated her help and her great customer service skills so much please order from sweet Nel’s!

Friendly's is known for ice cream more than serving food which is limited. The ice cream is spectacular! The food is mostly something with chicken in it. I had the beef stroganoff and it was tasty but very salty. I would suggest a hot dog or burger then some ice cream to top it off.

Did an online pick up order.... it’s certainly basic fast food.. however I’ve been a fan of friendlys for years.. I even threw my daughter a bday party here when she turned 4.. I’ve watched the company go through many changes and my experience today was pretty silly... I ordered the Carmel fudge brownie sundae. I get all the way home to eat and put my ice cream in the freezer to my surprise they put the ice cream and brownie all in one container.. now if we’re saving the whales here I get it...less styrofoam... BUT why would you put that altogether for a to go order? I called and spoke with “ assistant manager” Ida who said bring back the old and they would re do it.. at that point I was already back at work/ home & quite frankly I thought it would be common sense to have them in separate containers until the guest gets home and can mix/ make accordingly... I won’t be back

Friendly's in Brandywine Towne Plaza has greatly improved! New menus with new variety of choices! Portion sizes also increased and are now on par with prices. Service was excellent, fast, and attentive. Sundaes were delicious! Must be under new management! Looking forward to our next visit.

The waitress Julie was every bit of rude. Seemed as though she didn’t want to be of service to us. Nor at work. She got upset with us for not knowing that we had to leave after being seated and still enjoying our meal past closing time. I personally wouldn’t have went through my meal if I knew that it would be ruined as the end by distasteful service. The manager wasn’t too much better than the server after speaking with her. Do better for all us. Negative energy can jump from one person to another. We need more love and light in this world especially in a place that’s supposed to be friendly. I mean it’s Friendly’s sheesh.

Kierra was Excellent!! She was courteous and attentive to whatever my wife and I wanted. The whole staff at this location did a Great job. Definitely satisfied with the food and Ice cream. Brought me back to my youth. Loved the whole dinning experience.

Finally got a chance to them out. Have heard of friendly's just never went. Overall it was great. I had the fisherman's platter. Was amazing. So worth the 18 bucks. The only downside was the tartar sauce was super tangy like it might have been bad. Regardless...i enjoyed my meal. Will definitely be dining here more often.

Govato’s may be good but the last 3 times I went there before 2:30p (what the lady on the phone and sign on their door indicates are their summer hours) it’s been CLOSED. Annoying. I understand needing more help but the least they could do is update their website every day to reflect what their hours are going to be. *sigh* I wish I knew of another good chocolate place to frequent.

Truly is the best candy store in Delaware! The homemade artisan chocolates are the best in the state!!! The smell of chocolate hits you the moment you walk in. Phenomenal homemade chocolate marshmallows, pretzels, cherries and caramels!!! Reasonably priced with deals. Must try one of they’re from scratch caramel apples in the Fall!!! Everything is fresh and delicious!!! A Delawarean treasure!!

Besides the mask request, I really liked the place. I won't hold it against them as they are older and didn't wanna be sick for the holidays. Can't say the mask really works, but hey, your chocolates are pretty good.

Got a box of mixed chocolates: they were very stale, bloom on the bottom, dry and the bottoms of most of the chocolates cracked or not covered. So was this the stock ordered discarded from the Wilmington shop in September? I tossed it. Not recommended.

I was not given the correct change back. Then the lady tried to give me a gelati with the ice cream in another cup. I asked them to remake they told me no then I asked for my money back and CB they did not give me the correct change so when the droor is over that is the money you owe me unless they put it in there pocket. Can someone please reach back out to me from corporate or at least store manager

I am a door dash partner and I just visited this store for a pickup. The instructions clearly state to ring the black door bell when I get there but when I did one of the associates rudely went to the first window on the left side, asked what name I was picking up, grabbed the bag right in front of me at the window with the bell, and walked back over to the far left window and sat the order there and walked away. No courtesy at all! I'm disappointed because typically the workers are very nice and accommodating

I’m a chocolate shake lover. Tried their chocolate milkshake it was delicious. Great & quick service.

This location frequently jips you and hires incompetent teens. You can order a sundae and they give you one drizzle of fudge and charge you more when you basically pay for just custard. Then when you complain about their topping serving sizes, the little girls that work there act like they have no clue what to do. The location on silverside gives no issue AND doesn't charge for pup cups. Buh bye concord pike!

Our timing on Saturday could not have been better with Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard closing after Sunday for the season 😢 I got my traditional blue raspberry with custard and the wife got her root beer with custard. They were delicious! Rita should consider staying open through Halloween as I am sure they could come up with some ghoulish flavors to trick or treat us 😋

I just left Reno’s I never leave bad reviews but I could not hold back about this. I got a large soft serve. It was $7!! It was very small and not worth it. At the very high end it should have only cost $5 I felt they ripped me off I just left wildwood and had a soft serve large cone on the boardwalk and it was $3.50 and double the size of Reno’s ! This is a beach town yet it didn’t cost what Reno’s did & was much better in taste and value . Think of that ! At a beach town that closes up after the season they didn’t feel the need to gouge me yet Reno’s is open year around but still felt the need to steal . I won’t go back that’s for sure.Reno’s ice cream isn’t that good anyway including their homemade.

Come here usually every Tuesday and Thursday for a treat. We always have a great experience here. The staff are all very sweet and friendly to everyone, and make sure everyone enjoys their treats! My personal favorite is their Chocolate Milkshake. In my opinion, it has a great flavor and a perfect amount of Chocolate here. I love Reno’s Ice Cream, and will definitely continue coming here!

These ladies tonight were IMPECABLE! The way they acknowledged my granddaughter was amazing. She wanted pink sprinkles only on her ice cream, the young lady helping her decide was the greatest, no pink sprinkles could have turned into a catastrophe, this young lady talked her into rainbow sprinkles with pink and purple gummy bears! This is service...going a bit out of their way, making it fun for the kids! We will definetly be back and spreading the word about your staff!! Oh the ice cream was loved! Water ice too!

CASH ONLY!! 52 flavors of soft serve ice cream. I think they mix flavorings to plain ice cream before serving. We were the only 2 people there and it took about 15 minutes to make 2 cones. It was VERY soft when served. Nicely flavored. I don't know if I'd go again. It took too long and I would think the wait would be even longer on a hot day with a long lineof customers.

I really enjoyed this place the first time I went. But today they clearly refused to serve me. I stood at the window for nearly ten minutes and made eye contact with two employees, neither of whom acknowledged that I was standing there. Not even a "hold on just a minute and we'll take your order". When I tapped on the window, they pretended that they hadn't heard or seen me.

They have an excellent variety of ice cream choice. The staff is wonderful and very helpful when it comes to choosing your flavor. I recommend the black raspberry.

Great flavors!! We walk up on Sundays and get something! They have 62 flavors of ice cream plus special ones they make. They have ice water to!!

Always great! We’ve been going there for years. Good selection and fair prices. I’ve tried most things on the menu and it’s always been good - soft serve cones, sundaes (hot fudge, strawberry, butterscotch), Italian ice, banana splits, and arctic swirls. Lots of parking even on busy summer nights. Nice covered outdoor seating area - have been there when it’s raining and you don’t have to worry about getting wet while you enjoy your frozen treats. And during the day the awnings keep the sun from melting your ice cream! Tucked away behind the strip mall, but there is plenty of signage so you know where to go. The whole “Marsh Triangle” has been undergoing renovations the past few years and everything is new, fresh & clean.

The lady who took our orders was charming and friendly. The ice cream had a creamy consistency and was quite good. They have all sorts of unusual soft serve flavors. My only complaint is I ordered rootbeer flavored soft serve and while it was good, it did not really taste like rootbeer. Also, look at the photo, I don't know why the cup was not filled to the sides. I was given such a small portion compared to my companion. However, if I lived in the area, I would still go back and just stick to chocolate and vanilla.

We love coming to Dino‘s for water ice. The staff are very friendly and show good customer service and the product is fantastic and the pricing fits our tight budget.

Delicious water ice and great pretzels. Dino is an amazing dude. I had tonsil surgery late fall/early winter and every water ice store nearby was closed. Called and Dino opened his store out of season to sell me his remaining stock at a discount. Greatly helped with my recovery and now I come back once or twice a week every summer. Highly recommend!

Dino’s if a few blocks away from me I take my children there to get a delicious treat. Blue cookie monsters is my favorite. They have many different flavor of water ice “rum punch” is out of this world. The name the flavor makes you feel like you’re dancing on an island. 🤤

Dino’s ice cream was enjoyable. It was relatively light and had a super creamy texture, so it wasn’t heavy on the stomach afterwards! I recommend and will be back.

Soooo good! They have a variety of amazing flavors to choose from. The water ice is so fresh, light, and the perfect amount of sweetness. Way better than Ritas! Very sweet, and patient workers! Will always support Dinos :)

Water ice is really good but the butter pecan ice cream did not have buttery taste. It tasted like vanilla ice cream with unsalted pecans tossed into. Very disappointing for the price.

Super friendly service and offering a lot of creative flavors. You can get free tasting for samples. You can purchase by the scoop and pints to go. There are a couple of picnic tables and chairs for outside seating. Along with traditional dairy based Gelato, she also offers sorbets, which most are vegan and she continues to experiment with new flavors. Some of our favorites are: Blood Orange, Blackberry Pomegranate, and Mango pineapple. Highly recommend coming here!

Visited this shop after a TikToker posted it. The gelato was incredible! The owner was very knowledgeable and patient. I even got to try different flavors before making a final decision, which was so hard for me. I chose the vanilla and salted caramel flavors. I will definitely be returning!

Was here tonight(Tuesday 9/24/24) and very bad experience. Ordered 2 Regular cups of hard scoop ice cream, a chocolate and a sea salt caramel. The sea salt caramel was melted basically, then as I’m dumping some into another cup because it’s a mess I see purple and pink which taste fruity. I immediately returned to the window after just stepping away, after a few minutes I had to yell through the screen as there were no employees around anymore, they completely disappeared into the back and there were other customers that just walked up. Someone comes over(not the original girl) and I ask to trade it for a chocolate because that looked good and showed her what I was given and explained the situation. I was told they couldn’t do that(which I’m not sure why bring it’s the same price). The original girl comes over and says that the one I was given wasn’t melted, then after showing her the purple and pink color in the cup I was able to finally convince the 2 girls to simply re-make my order, it’s still partially melted, we left. Photos for reference. I will not be back, the workers were not nice or professional and hard scoop ice cream you shouldn’t need a straw from the start! Photos attached (sorry my daughter ate half her chocolate by the time I took a pic but the chocolate looked normal, the sea salt caramel was handed to me as it looks in photo.) Updated: I put my sea salt caramel in the freezer when we got home, it froze up solid just fine, so it is melted in their coolers!

We will def not be returning! There was a thick fingernail in my son’s ice cream tonight. I was so upset because he had eaten most of it before finding it. Hopefully he doesn’t get sick.

I would definitely go back the oreo Ice cream was just ok not worth the price but the oreo Blast was delicious wasnt very customer friendly but they were busy and understaffed

I love the product but I hate the way they attend. I’ve had many bad encounters with male workers where they were very rude. I received a banana split like this. I hope they do something in order for us to get a good experience as a customer.

Nice service with many icecream options and great test . This facility has seating arrangements outside the store in open to enjoy with family friends 😊

My boyfriend and I came here to enjoy some ice cream. We waited at least 10 minutes or more to even be waited on. Mind you there was 3 workers, one wasn’t doing anything. & they were working on a family’s ice cream orders. But while we were waiting a worker walked by the window and disregarded us. Quite a bad experience sadly. Edit: To add to this, once we received our orders, it wasn't made correctly. One of the items were a milkshake and it was quite on the liquid side, more so milk consistency or as if the shake were to be left out for a few hours. So it wasn't a milkshake when we got it, so the wait sadly lead to an even more disappointing time.
