Q39 - Midtown is a trendy spot with high ceilings and exposed brick that offers delicious smoked BBQ and wood-fired meats. While there, you can visit various museums like the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.
Food was delicious. Came out quick and hot. Though everything was great. The ribs so tender it fell off the bone. The baked beans, cucumber salad and potato salad were my favorite side dishes. Autumn provided the phenomenal service. Checked on us often and held great conversation. The atmosphere was great. Q39 had all sorts of sports on TV, busy but service was fast.

Lunchtime at Q39 a busy place. Good sign. Spacious open dining room with a good view of the kitchen and full bar with seating as well. Started with "Best Wings on the Planet". Definitely very good. Nice char on the outside, tender meat on the inside. Really flavorful. Then had the combo plate with ribs, and beef brisket. Sides of fire roasted Mexican street corn, and five cheese mac with breadcrumbs. Both sides were excellent. The ribs and brisket were good. A little on the smaller portion size than you would expect considering the price, but good nonetheless. Will definitely be back to try again..

We flew from Chicago this morning, first time in KS and had only one purpose, come and try Q39. From the moment we walked in we felt welcome, our waiter Haleigh was OUTSTANDING, absolutely the sweetest.. please if manager are seen this give her a compliment from our part such a nice employee you have, love her hospitality. Now about the food. We ordered what they call it THE best wings on the planet 🌍 and they were not kidding, absolutely AMAZING. We also ordered pick 3 with ribs, brisket and pulled pork and all of them were delicious but my fav was the brisket, sooooo tender and great taste. If I ever come back to KS I need to stop at this place again, 10/10.
Jorge M — Google review
Smoked meat is delicious, half chicken dark meat is preferable, ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. French fries is the only side preferable to me. Nachos are delicious however they're seasonal and available April through October. The service once seated is phenomenal, food comes out fast and the staff are nice. The atmosphere is loud and crowded since it is a popular diner. The price for the quality of food is justified.
Jannel J — Google review
Fantastic BBQ restaurant with great food and service! Tried Old fashioned, Best Wings on the planet, Burnt End burger and Carrot cake. To start with, Old fashioned is solid! Burnt End burger is so juicy and just melts in your mouth. Chicken wings are damn good with BBQ Sauce, and Carrot cake is out of this world! Must try If you like to indulge mouthwatering BBQ meat around Kansas City. I’m surprised how fast the service is! Note: All the food items are shareables

Q39 Midtown is a solid restaurant to visit for BBQ. The ribs are tender, and come right off the bone with a gentle bite. The BBQ sauce is really good. The chicken wings also were good, for the price though I would like 8 of them. I also feel a good bbq needs really good sides, and Q39 did it right. I loved the potato salad and the cucumber salad.
J H — Google review
The food at Q39 was absolutely delicious! Our group of 6 loved everything - great flavor and perfectly cooked BBQ. Everyone left happy and full! The only downside was the service - the lady started removing our plates while we were still eating, which felt a bit rushed. Other than that, it’s a really solid spot and we’d definitely come back!

Came in today for Birthday celebrations. Had the most attentive, amazing server-Duane!! He's GREAT! Food was delightful especially the pulled pork and onion straws. Had a relaxing, fun filled Saturday lunch. Definitely recommend.

Country Club Plaza is a luxurious and premier destination in Kansas City, featuring Moorish-themed buildings that create a Spanish Seville atmosphere. It's a popular spot for wedding and engagement photography, with its beautiful architecture, landscaped grounds, and ornate details. The area is filled with high fashion shops, sweet-smelling flowers, quaint lamp posts, bronze sculptures, and glistening fountains. Visitors can enjoy walking through the outdoor mall while admiring the fountains and mosaics along the way.
I enjoy strolling through the plaza and admiring the architecture. It has such character. There is also an assortment of restaurants and shops. You can eat Italian at The Cheesecake Factory, BBQ at Jack Stacks, or get a healthy meal at Tru Foods. I eat at Tru Foods every time I visit for work. There are several other types of cuisine available, as well. Check out the Made in KC shop for drinks, coffee, jewelry, pottery, KC clothing, and more. A fun game for children could be to count the fountains. At Christmas, the entire plaza is lit up and it’s a treat to watch the lights come on around 4:45pm. You can also take a stroll along the River. It’s just a pleasant spot to visit.
Christy L — Google review
Find just about anything here. At Bo Lings I had a fabulous bubble tea. Candy store had hello kitty items, and the Spanish inspired buildings are just beautiful. Wonderful place to walk around.

Friends recommended here when I was visiting. I really wasn’t looking for high-end shopping but I enjoyed the statues, architecture and water fountains. (Kansas City is known as the "City of Fountains" and has more fountains than all other cities except Rome. Rome has over 2,000 public fountains, while Kansas City is believed to have more than 200. The city's fountains are a significant part of its culture and identity, with many located in parks, on boulevards,)

Nice place for families! There was an art show this weekend. Food booths not so great! I'm from southwest Kansas. So when you go to a taco booth. You're going to get your money's worth! There was a couple of stages set up for live music. And it was a beautiful evening with the perfect weather.

The Plaza area is true gem! Its rich history and charming architecture make it a fascinating destination for visitors and locals alike. Walking through the area, you can feel the sense of heritage and culture, and the lively atmosphere adds to its appeal. With shops, cafés, and beautiful public spaces, it’s the perfect spot to explore, take photos, and immerse yourself in a vibrant and historical setting. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a unique and memorable destination.

Sooo much fun at the 93rd Art Fair on the Plaza. Every year I save my coins to purchase an original art from artist around the country. If you haven’t been it’s always in September. LOVE LOVE THIS! Thank you Sunryse Pottery for my beautiful ceramic soap dispensers♥️

This is a great place for a date, as well as for family and friends. The fountains are beautiful, especially during the Christmas holiday, spring, and summer. It is clean and safe for the most part. Always keep your eyes and ears open though. It is also a handicap accessible area, which makes it nice for everyone.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a must-visit for art enthusiasts, housing an extensive collection spanning 5,000 years. The museum features neoclassical and modern galleries, as well as a sculpture garden. Visitors of all ages can appreciate the giant badminton birdie installations on the expansive lawn.
This Museum is superb. It is a very welcoming facility, with excellent staff. It displays a wide variety of paintings and sculpture, from all period and all cultures. There is way too much to see in one day, so plan to space out your visits and focus on particular rooms. The grounds are spacious, and offer beautiful areas for picnics. Be sure to eat a meal there in its inviting setting.

Very elegant. Very well put together. Free admission. 14 dollar parking. After 30 minutes. Really a beautiful place to spend an afternoon with someone you love who loves art. It was worth the visit. I regret nothing. Thank you Kansas City for a wonderful experience.
Nicholas R — Google review
One of the best museums I've ever been to boasting a wide variety of art and sculptures from around the World! Start off playing nine holes of mini golf which is so much fun! Then go visit the Museum to see all the treasures it has to offer! Then take a break and have a wonderful snack/lunch at the courtyard style Cafe in the Museum. Then back to explore the rest. A great way to spend a few hours if you love Art! Definitely a must visit!
Willie O — Google review
We spent over 3 hours and barely got through 1.5 floors. So much to see. The European impressionist art on level 1 was stunning. Took a quick break in the cafe Rozelle. Charming. The architecture of the museum building was as impressive as the collection. Modern collection impressive as well. We could have easily spent the whole day if schedule allowed. Admission is free. $14 to park.
Cathy B — Google review
Overall good experience. Spend anywhere between 2-3 hours or most of the day if want. There is a lot to see. Entry is free to the public. Just check in at front desk for wristbands when enter. Parking was easy, but do have to pay $14 for parking. I recommend not bringing in any large bags or purses. You will be asked to wear it on your front the whole time if you do. Overall good free activity

I absolutely loved our visit here. We got to see Van Gogh paintings which we are huge fans of. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it. It’s free entry you just pay for parking and can donate which you get a wristband. Highly recommend.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is an absolute dream for wedding portraits—and I’m lucky to shoot here frequently with couples and their wedding parties. The stunning architecture, clean lines, and iconic art installations create a backdrop that’s both timeless and uniquely Kansas City. From the classic columns of the museum’s exterior to the modern sculpture garden and beautiful outdoor spaces, every corner offers a different vibe and incredible photo opportunities. The natural light here is consistently gorgeous, and the architecture itself adds a level of sophistication and drama that elevates every image. Whether it’s elegant black-tie vibes or a playful, candid session, The Nelson is a go-to spot that always delivers stunning, editorial-quality portraits.
Alyssa B — Google review
A beautiful art museum with varieties of art - European, French, South Asian, Japanese and lots more. Lots to walk around inside the museum. There’s well maintained lawn, where you can sit and relax outside. There are also 4 shuttlecock sculptures, which apparently are the largest in the world. They have paid parking as well as street parking. Admission is free, though you need to register online.

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Kansas City, The Capital Grille stands as a premier destination for steak lovers and fine dining enthusiasts alike. This upscale steakhouse exudes an air of sophistication with its clubby ambiance, making it the perfect spot for both special occasions and casual gatherings. Guests can indulge in a variety of classic American dishes that showcase culinary excellence, such as their renowned lobster mac and cheese or the succulent dry-aged Kansas City strips.
It always elegant. Ordered carryout. Pickup was a delight as upon entering I was greeted with a serenade from Gabby. Such a lovely personality. My Oder was ready and she retrieved it, adding complimentary bread & butter service to it. I love the lobster Mac & cheese, hands done the best across both MO and KS no matter what fine dining or seafood place you try. This order was good but a bit dry.

We had a retirement celebration there for an employee and the service was excellent. The food was hot and good including the appetizers down to the restroom. The servers were awesome and kept everyone cups full. Prices for the food and liquor is great for the quality and quantity of food they bring out to you. Atmosphere and lighting were good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - “Steak So Good I Considered Proposing to It” The Capital Grille in KC is where steak dreams go to live their best life. We had Nancy as our server and let me tell you—if service were an Olympic sport, she’d have taken gold while simultaneously shaking our espresso martinis table-side like a cocktail ninja. Attentive, kind, knowledgeable, and more polished than the silverware—Nancy is the Beyoncé of steakhouse service. Started off strong with the bone-in ribeye—juicy, flavorful, and probably still thinking about it. Béarnaise sauce? Oui oui. Mashed potatoes were creamy clouds of comfort. Lobster mac? Straight-up seafood poetry. Like, if mac and cheese went to Harvard, met a lobster, and fell in love. Coconut cream pie came in hot (well, cold—but you get it). Delicious, rich, and flirty… though the crust was a touch sweet, like it was trying a little too hard at dessert prom. Still ate the whole thing because I’m no quitter. Espresso martinis were shaken right next to our table—nothing says luxury like watching someone do bar acrobatics 3 feet from your face. 10/10 would sip again. Only hiccup? Bread was MIA until we asked, and the butter was straight out of an iceberg. But Nancy looked like she personally felt the betrayal of that bread delay, and honestly, I’d forgive her for anything short of arson. Moody steakhouse vibes, great lighting, free easy parking, and just steps away from enough shopping to work off the ribeye guilt. Will return. Will order lobster mac. Will bring my own room-temperature butter just in case.

We dined in the bar/lounge area. I really enjoyed the vibe in there. Our server Melissa was fantastic! This was one of the best services I’ve had in Kansas City. Melissa’s knowledge of the menu, and what wine to pair with what appetizers, entrees and desert was impressive. All her recommendations were perfect. So we decided to start off with the “Generous Poor” wine tasting where they select 3 whites and 3 reds. For my entree I got the Ribeye which Melissa also recommended. She suggested the mash potatoes and brussels sprouts which complemented the steak perfectly. The pinot noir was so good with this dish. She also suggested we try the crème brûlée cheesecake and the espresso chocolate cake paired with the rosé white wine. And let me tell you… this was amazing! Perfect date night 10 out of 10 on everything and I’ll be back to see Melissa again to try more of her recommendations.

Gram & Dun is a popular gastro-pub located in the stylish Brookside neighborhood of KC. The venue offers a lively and laid-back atmosphere with swanky yet warm decor, including patio seating. The menu features innovative American cuisine, such as jerk pheasant and chicken and waffles, alongside modern spins on classic dishes like hangar steak with salsa verde.
My daughter lives in Kansas City and I always have her choose a restaurant that she's heard of and wants to go to that she hasn't tried yet. We were so impressed by this place. We will definitely go again! The menu had so many things that I wanted to try. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was great and our server was very friendly and helpful. Great location on the corner of the Plaza. Sounds like they have a great breakfast and lunch menu as well. Highly recommend!

Gram & Dun came highly recommended to us! It’s located in a lovely area & easy to walk around. We enjoyed the stroll around the shops. We came for lunch. It was amazing! So delicious! Everything was delicious! We really enjoyed our lunch. I highly recommend visiting Gram & Dun?

We were invited by the manager to come in for a meal and after just a few bites, my husband and I began planning our next date night to revisit. The service was top tier, food was delicious and fast. Fresh. Our server was so kind and sweet, and even made a VERY welcomed food suggestion (fried jalapenos with the spinach artichoke dip, to die for). I cannot say enough positive things. I cannot wait to return. Thank you for a memorable first anniversary meal.

I am an out-of-towner and was told to explore Country Club Plaza. I stopped here for lunch and sat in the bar area. The place looks nice and is unique. The service was great and the food was delicious. And they had Magnum PI on the TV. 🤣

Food was good, but the drinks were just okay. Our waitress was very nice - she should get a raise! It was kind of loud there, hard to hear each other but could make out what we were saying well enough. It was kind of hot by the window, almost like a greenhouse. Overall would recommend!
Mich L — Google review
The food was a bit mediocre for the price we are paying. The lobster risotto wasn’t as flavorful as I expected and there were only a few pieces at the top. The appetizers were decent at best but the presentation was good. The lamb was wonderful, it was tender and had tons of flavor. The hanger steak was not that good and sushi was ok.

The café offers an eclectic menu of new American cuisine, with seasonally changing dishes and creative flair. Diners can enjoy delicacies such as sumac-spiced wild swordfish and succulent Akaushi beef, as well as comforting brunch options like classic BLT sandwiches and omelettes with spinach and brie.
The space is so unique and special. We loved the courtyard for the openness and high ceilings. The gallery would be perfect for something intimate. The food was INCREDIBLE! I don’t know the last time I’ve raved about a lunch I’ve had. Everything was so much more than we expected. We had the smoky eggplant dip, steak salad, turkey club with broccoli cheddar soup. All those words sound so basic compared to the quality of the meal.

We went for the food. I’m sure more goes for the art, but it’s a good spot to grab a bite if you want to try a less crowded and different place. The server was very friendly. The food was really good, it’s not much but it’s enough to get your fill. They do have adult beverages, mimosas.

Café Sebastienne was a great choice for Father’s day brunch. Not pictures we started with lamb sausages which were basic, but delicious. I had the biscuits and gravy with breakfast potatoes and the gravy was excellent. Creamy and full of flavor, and the biscuits and potatoes were great too. My girlfriend and her father had the Eggs Benedict and the the yolks were perfect with the English muffins. Her father’s husband had the pork hash and loved it as well. Pictured is the lime cake which had cotton candy on top. The cake was moist and full of flavor. Service was also excellent, and I will be keeping Cafe Sebastienne in mind for the future.

Great staff and ambiance! Perfect for museum date, and parking is very easy. However, I had grilled chicken for $18. The chicken was a bit dry and the portion was very small. Definitely not worth the money. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Don’t know why it took me this long to try this place out, since I’m obsessed with anything brunch related. I just loved the setting of this place, just the fact that it’s in Kemper Museum surrounded by eclectic art makes it worth the visit. We tried their biscuits and gravy, squash and goat cheese omelette and French toast with raspberry purée and ice cream. Such a good meal experience, I couldn’t get enough of the crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside smashed potatoes. The French toast was incredible and we didn’t even need the syrup because the ice cream and berry purée were all it needed. The omelette wasn’t anything special and next time I will probably try their cornbread and something more adventurous. Also wish they had more dessert options than ice cream. Definitely recommend this spot to all the KC foodies.
Shiona D — Google review
The food here was delicious. I ordered the Kobe Beef Hash and the Crab Cakes/Eggs Benedict. They were both divine. The cafe is located inside the museum with art lining the walls. It's a wonderful place for brunch and drinks.
Baotri N — Google review
The venue is very neat. You are surrounded by contemporary art (totally not my thing) underneath a glass ceiling. The staff is very friendly and service is ok. I ordered the biscuits and chorizo and lamb gravy. The biscuit was a cornbread type of biscuit. It was very dense and lacked flavor. The gravy (not pictures) was utterly disappointing as well. I was expecting an explosion of flavor with the chorizo and lamb, but received a flavorless speckled paste you would expect from a 7th grade home economics class. The consistency was off and it needed salt. Well, not just salt; love. It was bad. The eggs that came with the meal must have been cooked in the same 7th grade class. The texture was great, but again... No flavor. The potatoes that accompanied the meal were fantastic. Beyond delicious. The crispy skin was a surprise, and welcomed after the biscuit. They were heavily season; I actually rolled them on the eggs hoping to rescue the meal. If you like crisp bacon, this is the place. I love crisp bacon. The bacon was perfect. The sangria and mimosa were fantastic. The menu is very small, which is fine; however, the few items should be executed with greater attention. I probably won't return, nor recommend Cafe Sebastian. The KC food scene is too good to return to a meh meal.

PotPie is an unpretentious bistro located at 904 Westport Rd, Kansas City, MO. The cozy, bare-brick dining room exudes a welcoming atmosphere. Initially not featuring pot pies on the menu, the restaurant now offers three amazing options alongside other delicious comfort food dishes. The chalkboard menu and brick walls create a homely ambiance. Despite its hipster vibe, PotPie is known for serving some of the best steak in town.
Very homey, comfortable place. It's nice when traveling often to find something that is not a sandwich. I had the beef pot pie, salad and a very nice glass of wine. everything was excellent! The salad was fresh with a hard to describe but flavorful dessing. The beef pie was rich and hearty, the crust was special (in a GREAT WAY), I can say this is the first time where I felt like the crust actually ADDED to the dish that was already great. The bread was also very nice.

Darling little hole-in-the-wall French place. Take them at their word and try one of their pot pies; they are delicious! We also tried their famous chocolate chip bread pudding which was delicious! Cocktails were also on point with a perfectly balanced gin-based Tulip. Service was stellar and our waitress took good care of us. I do recommend reservations simply because it is so small and clearly soany people know it's a great place to enjoy a meal. I'll be back next time that I'm in town!

Great local and cozy Westport bistro with attentive service and food. Have been here several times but last night it made me decide to add it our favorite rotation. Had the grilled peach and Burrata salad which was delicious and plentiful. Also tried the tempura shrimp and they were succulent. The roasted pan chicken, mashed potatoes and au jus was heavenly. Can’t leave without trying the chicken and vegetable pot pie. It was all so wonderful!

We had a wonderful dinner with friends at Pot Pie. I absolutely loved the chicken pot pie. So so good! I also love that they work with many local farms! Great food! We will be back again!

This place was wonderful! It is so cozy inside and the staff was super friendly. Two things stood out to me as absolutely exceptional. The cocktails were very well done, we tried the tulip and the Tweed jacket and they were both delicious. And the chocolate chip bread pudding might be the best bread pudding I have ever had. I would go back a million times just for that. I did find the chicken pot pie to be a little bit bland, but that might be because I'm used to more flavors from other cuisines. I thought the puff pastry was delicious, if a little bit soft. The short rib was cooked beautifully in a bourguignon sauce and the potatoes au gratin were perfect. I would recommend anybody in the area try this place.

The crust on this pot pie was literally so flaky and delicious. As a baker myself I am truly curious how they were able to get their crust to be so amazing. I got the beef and mushroom and my friend got the chicken and vegetable. Both were very good. They also have lots of other things on their menu including fish and steak. It’s a small intimate space so I’d recommend making a reservation especially on the weekend.

My wife and I had the opportunity to eat here on our Dec trip to KC. We like to explore different places to eat that are off the beaten path. We had a wonderful dinner at Pot Pie. The servings were large and fresh. Service was great. We thought the prices were reasonable. In addition, the atmosphere and decor was comfortable and inviting. We would definitely visit there again.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Legends Outlets Kansas City. Not quite as popular as The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Outlet mall
If you're looking for a unique shopping experience in Kansas City, Legends Outlets is the place to be! As the only designer outlet center in the state, it boasts over 100 stores featuring popular brands like Kate Spade and J. Crew Factory. Beyond shopping, you can indulge in delicious dining options at restaurants such as Dave and Buster's and Yardhouse. The outdoor mall is designed with fun themes that create an inviting atmosphere—think fisherman motifs and prairie hunters alongside a charming glassy pool.
One of the largest malls featuring factory outlets from a wide range of popular brands. After a long day of shopping, the on-site theater offers a perfect opportunity to unwind with a movie. A well-rounded experience and definitely worth the visit.

It’s ok, you can tell it’s all fairly new. Clean and well maintained. Shops aren’t super exciting and the fountain not being on and being worked on was a bit of a bummer. If you buy anything from BAM and want a bag to carry what you just purchased you will need to purchase said bag per their policy… we walked through everything entirely in under 45 min.

Such a fantastic place! Amazing shopping, great atmosphere! Love the Adidas store!!
The T — Google review
Having lived in larger metropolitan cities like Northern VA and DC, outlets are much bigger like Potomac Mills, Leesburg outlets, Tangier Outlets so Legends outlets aren’t as expansive and store varieties aren’t as much. HOWEVER, to be fair Legends outlets is a cool place with all its nice touches that set it apart in many ways. It has a combination of amenities such as: photo booths, small stationary coin-operated rides for kids, a barber shop and of course the giant Dave and Busters and AMC theatre. It’s a place truly for many whims and activities and not endless destination for just shoppers! This place has garage parking that seamlessly leads to covered areas of the outlets unlike most larger outlets where parking is in large lots where it’s a challenge to find cover in inclement weather let alone find your parked car! It’s just reflective of the ease and laid back and experience-centric feel of this wonderful city and state!!! (Now I envy my boyfriend M Dz*****z for having had a majority of his adolescent life in Olathe/Lenexa/Overland Park area).

You guys left hundreds of people and families and children very disappointed. The fact that you didn’t post that you were no longer playing movies in the lawn is shameful. You broke families and children’s hearts. Terrible look for new management. Just so you know I share the same opinion of everyone that is here right now on the lawn waiting for a movie that is not going to play. I’m a father of 4 and one of the reasons we moved back to KS was for the movie on the lawn at Legends. Bad, bad look. Please see the photos of the hearts you just broke. The fact you had to have your employees come to our blankets after we already set up and lay out to watch the movies to tell us you are no longer showing movies. I will be leaving a review on BBB and contacting the Attorney General as well on how awful this has been handled. What a terrible way to handle this. Shame on you. Good luck keeping anyone’s business going forward. Edit/Update. Thank you guys so much for listening to your customers. This will make such a huge difference to so many families.

Legends Outlets Kansas City is one of the best shopping destinations around! The open-air layout makes it such a fun and relaxing place to spend the day, and the variety of stores is amazing—from top brands and designer outlets to great local shops. You can find everything in one spot—clothes, shoes, home goods, and even unique gifts. The area is always clean, well-maintained, and beautifully designed with plenty of seating and dining options nearby. Parking is easy, and the staff in every store I visited was friendly and helpful. I love that there’s also entertainment and restaurants right on-site, so it’s more than just a shopping trip—it’s a full experience. Legends Outlets KC delivers the perfect mix of deals, atmosphere, and convenience. Definitely a 5-star shopping spot! 🛍️✨

The Great Wolf Lodge Water Park in Kansas City offers informal suites with kitchenettes in a relaxed resort atmosphere. The water park is a fun destination for families with children, featuring arcade games and dining options. However, guests may need to spend more money than expected and bring a sound machine as noise from upstairs can be disruptive. Despite this, the facilities are clean and staff provide excellent customer service. The water park itself is the main attraction with thrilling rides and slides for all ages.
This place is an absolute blast, especially with kiddos! I highly recommend the pizza they sell inside of GWL! We got a large and it was the perfect lunch for 4 of us! Definitely don't forget to bring your swimsuit! I would love to go back in the winter and enjoy the nice warm pool! The lifeguards take their job very seriously, even if there was no one in the pool, they were always doing their safety checks! The staff is amazing! The Build A Bear was so much fun too! The magic wands are very cool. I would consider buying one so I could walk around like a wizard unlocking cool stuff! BOOK THIS TRIP!

Imagine spending a nice amount of money for your family of four to attend a local water park and hotel only to feel invisible the entire time. I can count on one hand the amount of staff members I talked to and none of them included the employees at the front desk! Not a “hello” or “welcome in” or “thanks for staying”. NOTHING! Umm customer service is seriously lacking! The room was nice. We had the kids bunk bed on one side and a queen on the other. The kids in the room above us were very very loud. Quiet hours are posted but no one pays attention to that. We woke up early the next day and chose to leave. Hours before checkout! Oh and the waterpark was okay too. Wont be back. Don’t recommend. Only gave 3 stars because the room was nice and its close in location to shopping and dining.
Meadrica W — Google review
We were so excited for this trip—until we got there we found out at check in they charge an additional $19 a day which was not informed anywhere when we booked. On top of that it is very pricey, but they also upsell EVERYTHING the price you see when you book is almost doubled when you check out. The food is extremely overpriced and not worth the cost. They market towards kids in a ridiculous way---they have fun family night dance parties ect. Although they roll out a cart of very expensive toys that all the kids want. Which is pretty much the theme throughout. As far the staff that does the crats and dance parties, they are amazing, I cannot say enough about them. The cleanliness of the resort is disgusting. They had a huge water leak in the gift shop and people when running through only god knows what was in the liquid that was all over the entire carpet—they put up a fan no sign or warning just a fan. A day after we got home out son developed the worse case of hand/foot and mouth his pediatrician has ever seen. She 100% said he caught it at the Great Wolf Lodge (he does not attend daycare or anything else), her guess was the mystery liquid that was all over the carpet that no one could avoid walking through. The comfort of the rooms wasn’t terrible, although for the amount they charge just like a lot of other reviews have stated it is VERY dated. We had wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom, stains on the carpet, the pillows they provide you are the size of travel pillows. For the amount of money, you spend I would recommend going somewhere else and enjoying the time, being comfortable and not having your children catch illnesses that make them sick for 10 days after you get back from vacation. Very disappointing.
Chelsea — Google review
Compared to the Minnesota GWL this location is in need of some updates and additions. The water park includes three water slides, a small pool with basketball hoops and a Lilly pad and a large little kid play feature. The lazy river is so sad- it’s a tiny loop with no features compared to the Minnesota lodge where the lazy river goes around the entire water park. The hot tubs are tiny and packed. The outdoor pool wasn’t open, but looked pretty lame. Everything just seems like a ploy to get more money but nothing is super well maintained or exciting. We love the kids cabin room because we have 3 kids but it needs some Tlc- wallpaper peeling off, shampoo bottles fell off the wall mid shower, etc. To top it off, now they’re charging $20 a night for parking. The only way coming here is worth it is if it’s 40% and during the week. Best part of the hotel is the staff- they’re super friendly and make the kids experience great! Save your money and try a different lodge.
McKenzie G — Google review
As a couple with no children I probably booked this in error. We used Hilton timeshare points, but probably would have been better to “save them” than to use them here. It seemed like families were having fun. Food and drink were very expensive. We had the suite with a loft and 3 queen beds. Thankful we didn’t need all the beds as one of them was too soft to sleep on. Living room had no light so at night it was very dark. We were told there was an adult workout room, but upon our arrival we were told it had been changed to a “build a bear” room. TV did not have good reception. Constantly had delays. But, if you’re there with kids probably none of that matters.
Sandy B — Google review
Great Wolf Lodge delivers again. The only downfalls to this location were some minor issues with the vanity in our room and the lack of non-chain restaurants in the area. Both were very minor things. The water park was enjoyed by my kids but the lazy river could have used a touch more current to it. The stairs to the waterslides have a grippy padding on them which made them very safe. The value of the rooms were great too. Would stay here again.

This place is awesome! At the water park there was awesome workers, I think they need a raise and they also everyone here was super nice. I was visiting for my 17th birthday, and I think next time I visit I bring extra money to give to the workers who helped me. They management was super nice, front desk, the water park workers, and just everyone in general needs raises. So if anyone else is gonna visit, show your appreciation to these workers.

We loved all the fun activities they had available in the evening. Plus they had 1 dairy free option in their ice cream shop which is always a win for us. My son isn't able to have #dyes and we were able to find 2 dye free and dairy free options. Which may not sound like a lot but 2 is better than none.

The Kansas Speedway is a large motorsports facility accommodating up to 72,000 individuals for NASCAR races and other auto-related events. Despite unpredictable weather conditions, the venue remains consistent in delivering impressive races year after year. While certain special events had been cancelled on Sunday morning, the Ignition Garage still managed to entertain visitors with exciting racing activities despite running out of food and beverages. Overall, Kansas Speedway provides a memorable experience for fans of car racing and related events.
It's a wonderful race track with great views of the entire track! I highly recommend this for avid fans who like exciting races! It has capabilities to hold day or night races, and I have been there during a rain delayed race and saw a day night race.

My girls and i had a blast with all the fun stops out front. The race was also really fun to watch! However, the restrooms were disgusting! There were dead bugs everywhere and the sink water wasn't working. It was as if bathrooms haven't been cleaned or remodeled in 10 years.

Amazing experience at Kansas Speedway! Stayed in a suite with incredible views of the race. The food was great, staff were super friendly, and the action on the track kept us on the edge of our seats. Can’t wait to come back!

Adam H — Google review
Not mother/family/infant friendly! My husband and I have loved attending races at Kansas Speedway since we've met. Last year, we had a child and decided to take the year off. Recently, we've had several successful outings to Kauffman stadium for Royals games and other public venues, so we were hoping it would be alright to make a trip to Kansas Speedway this fall for the playoff race. It is disappointing that there is no mother's room, so when my 11 month old got fussy because he was tired, there was no where for me to retreat with him for a quick nap or a break from his headphones. Also, the line for the family bathroom was at least 10 deep every time I checked. I ended up changing my son on the ground to the side of the concourse. Thankfully, I'm no longer nursing or pumping because I would have had to do that in a bathroom stall. Hopefully, Kansas Speedway follows the lead of other big event venues and sports complexes like Kauffman Stadium and initiates a mother's room so that guests with infants feel more welcome at their events. Unfortunately, I would definitely not recommend taking a young infant to Kansas Speedway. I'm not sure when my family will be comfortable returning. Otherwise, the facility is great. The seats are narrow, but no big deal for a 3 hour race and the sections with the tables in front are totally worth it. Put on your walking shoes if you're headed to a race because it'll probably be a pretty long walk to your seats from your car. But parking is free and you can bring a cooler with drinks and food. Overall, it's clean and fun.

We love this place! I was disappointed at the driver's meeting however.,waited 2 hrs (at the fenced in area) just to have the "elites" stand in front of us at the beginning of the meeting blocking our veiw. The fans support everything associated with the speedway. It was the Kroger people coming in late.

The Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts is a beautiful and technologically advanced theater that has hosted many famous Broadway plays and lyric opera performances. If you get the chance to see a live performance at this stunning center, make sure to wear your fanciest clothes and be mesmerized by the beauty of the performers on stage.
This was an absolutely amazing experience and I cannot wait for another opportunity to visit again! The customer service is phenomenal, from the valet parking, to the door greeter, to the person who scanned our tickets, and the person who helped us find our seat. Every staff member was absolutely amazing! The theatre is stunning with bold rich colors and is very well maintained. The bathrooms are clean and they’re located on every floor for convenience. We were able to get in and out with ease with such an amazing layout. Keep up the great work and job well done!

Parking garage adjacent to the center. Beautiful venue. The tiers are well placed to allow view of the stage. Very clean and elegant. Multiple bars open for cocktails/beverages and light fare before show and during intermission. I wish my boyfriend Matt Dz*****z was here, maybe a precursor to our Kennedy center gala experience someday. Staff available everywhere to assist in giving information, hand out programs and help you find your seat. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional.

An architectural masterpiece designed to deliver an immersive experience of the arts in each is its two theaters. Acoustically optimized to ensure there isn’t a bad seat in the house. For the movie lovers, highly encourage taking in one of the their movie symphony performances. Where the symphony performs the movie’s soundtrack while the blockbuster plays above them. It’s take the movie watching experience into a whole new level

The Kauffman Center is truly one of Kansas City’s most iconic architectural gems—and it’s always a highlight in my wedding photography. With its sweeping curves and modern design, it offers a bold, artistic backdrop that’s instantly recognizable and uniquely KC. Whether I’m photographing wedding parties or couples, the building’s striking lines and dramatic shapes elevate every image to something special. The nearby open plazas add even more options for creative portraits. From classic elegance to contemporary flair, the Kauffman Center fits effortlessly into any wedding style while giving photos an unmistakable sense of place.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous venue with not one bad seat in the house!!! One thing to remember, no drinks or food are allowed into the auditorium. You have to consume those in the lobby.

With a view of Old Kansas City, the lobby of this performing arts center is a beautiful place to sit, drink, or saunter around before the music starts. The auditorium includes a majestic pipe organ. Paid parking is available, or find free street parking along the surrounding blocks on Sundays. (So long as you’re not nervous about leaving your car in a sketchy area of town.)

We had an exceptional experience at the Kaufman Center, witnessing our community’s children perform on stage during their anniversary celebration. The performance was both inspiring and beautifully executed. We were equally impressed by the presence and leadership of the center’s team, and it was a pleasure to personally congratulate them for organizing such a memorable and impactful event. This experience truly reflects the center’s dedication to the arts and the community.

The spectacular architecture by Moishe Safdie is an event in itself. City Market is a bustling and airy market located at 5th and Main streets just north of downtown. It has been in operation since the 1850s, offering a wide variety of goods from produce, baked goods, spices, flowers, crafts to jewelry. On Saturdays, the market is at its busiest with 150 vendors selling everything from vegetables and flowers to live chickens and T-shirts.
Love love love this place. Exactly what I wanted to visit in a city that I’ve visited for the first time. There are many vendors of all different things from fresh produce to flowers to crocheted items, spices, plants and herbs, candles, incense, dog treats, the list goes on and on! The restaurants are of different cuisines from Vietnamese to Filipino to Mediterranean to Brazilian, Mexican, Italian, etc etc etc. Parking is a challenge but worth the drive into KC downtown.
Mary-Ann L — Google review
Very difficult to find parking here and when we did find a spot on the street, it was overpriced. Not sure why dogs aren't allowed in the covered market areas. There are squirrels and pigeons everywhere! We brought our small dog in an enclosed dog stroller and that wasn't an issue but it just doesn't make sense. Tons of vendors selling produce and unique items, several selling beautiful floral bouquets.
Jen U — Google review
Great place to wander around, people watch, eat from a wide variety restaurants and of course, buy fruits and vegetables. The pictures are from our visit last weekend and the weekend before. We've eaten at two of the restaurants, the first being The Hungry Hatch and the second being the Italian Deli. Both were very good! The fresh produce at the market is crazy fresh and crazy inexpensive. Don't forget to grab a bag or two of pork rinds from Norm's Gourmet Snacks. There are something like 20 or 25 different flavors and they are super fresh. Parking can be a little bit sketchy if you go at the busier times so we like to park at around 10th and Main and ride the street car in. It just adds a little adventure to our visits and it's much less stressful with the cramped streets and parking lots. I highly recommend that you check it out for its huge variety of products, produce, eateries and diverse people.

City Market is a must visit for anyone living in, traveling through or to the Kansas city area! They have great vendors everywhere, reasonably priced items, knowledgeable shop owners, amazing products, and there's something for everyone! From fresh produce to live plants, restaurants, and more. Just make sure you have your spending money ready!

We went on a Sunday and loved the vendors in the middle, and the vast choices of food around the permiteter of the square. We were able to enjoy the artist chalk walk as well, and had lunch and hung out a while down there. Loved using the streetcar to get there as well. I recommend it! Go hungry!

City Market in Kansas City is such a gem! Whether you're looking for fresh produce or unique handmade crafts, this place delivers. The variety of produce is impressive—you can find everything from seasonal fruits and vegetables to specialty items you won't see at your typical grocery store. The quality is excellent, and there's something great about supporting local farmers and vendors while you shop. Beyond the produce, the crafts section is fantastic. There are so many talented artisans offering handmade goods, from jewelry to home decor to one-of-a-kind gifts. It's the perfect spot to find something special or just browse and appreciate the creativity on display. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with that classic market energy that makes shopping feel like an experience rather than a chore. City Market has become one of my favorite spots in KC, and I always leave with great finds. If you haven't been yet, definitely check it out—you won't be disappointed!

You can get just about anything you want to eat down at this market. I was there on a thursday. It was busy a lot of people stopped in for lunch. But the weekends, it's packed with all different kinds of vendors that are selling their crafts or their jams and jellies. And the produce it is amazing.

Dave & Buster's Kansas City is a family-friendly chain known for its sports-bar-style setting, American food, and arcade games. Visitors can enjoy a variety of games while indulging in delicious burgers and drinks. The staff is friendly and prompt, ensuring a pleasant experience. While some may have experienced minor hiccups with their orders, the overall atmosphere remains enjoyable for both kids and adults alike.
We came to Dave & Busters as a family to have lunch. Our server was Miya, she was absolutely amazing. My family and I didn't have any issues with her. She was on top of everything, with drinks, napkins anything we needed. We didn't have to call her over for anything. She was very professional, respectful and nice. When we come back we're going to request for her. I recommend the customers ask for her as well!

Took my family here for a quick trip to do some shopping and me and my husband got drinks I noticed on the flyer sitting on the table that after a certain time it’s half price drinks and I noticed that on my ticket I had got charged full price asked the waitress to check on this and she disappeared for over thirty minutes so I went looking she was sitting at the bar on her phone talking to the bartender so another waitress passed by I asked her about the drinks she stated that I was right and she would get her manager to come over and fix it but he never showed up LET ME POINT OUT THAT THERE WAS HARDLY ANYONE IN EATING WHEN WE GOT THERE. The manager never came and after an hour we got up and left. This is the third time we been treated like this in this establishment and to be honest I don’t think I’ll go back. The fact they harass and make people feel coming into the restaurant is beyond me 😒 if YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR TAKE UR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE

Like all the other arcades, it's starting to become the dumping grounds for young kids. What was once an adults only arcade to get away from kids, has now become just other arcade. The food is over priced in my opinion. The service is always super slow.

Hands down the worst service ever by our waitress Chanel. Ordered guacamole with a special kind of chips and found out 15 minutes after we replace the order that they were out of the chips so jokingly I asked do we get a discount she says I don’t make those decisions. There were four people in our party and three of us got our food first and we were waiting on the guacamole and chips. The chips and guacamole came out after three of us were 3/4 done with our meal. Asked to speak to the manager and he removed the guacamole and chips from the bill. However, this does not justify our waitresses demeanor. Host in the front of the restaurant had the most beautiful smile and was so extremely friendly. This is about the best I could say that was good about this restaurant. Oh, and I forgot to mention that it was very obvious that the guacamole was not fresh. It was ice cold, so what ever took so long for it to get to us in the manner that it did is unexplainable.
Ruth B — Google review
I've been here twice and the food always takes forever to come out, like nearly an hour, and sometimes comes out wrong. We had a ten-person party each time, but still! Environment is loud and bright, but nothing you wouldn't see at a casino. Games are fun enough, food is nothing amazing, and the staff is nice enough... But I would rather go to a different restaurant first, then come here to play games.

I was first timer at Dave and Busters and I heard a few good things about them prior to going and I have to admit that my experience wasn't bad at all. The staff was friendly and prompt we sat at the bar and enjoyed dinner and a few drinks prior to playing. Dinner was immaculate all of our food was cooked to perfection and seasoned well our drinks were strong and our bartender was sociable. The pricing wasn't too bad spent 130 total for two drinks food and games included. I didn't see any children However it is a family friendly environment.I will say the restrooms need more attention as most of them were not clean so four stars.

American restaurant
Brown & Loe is a New American restaurant located in a historic building that was once the Merchants Bank. The restaurant pays homage to its history by incorporating architectural details from the 1920s, such as checkered marble floors and a coffered ceiling. The establishment's name is derived from the previous occupants of the building, Brown and Loe, who were produce brokers in the 1940s.
Fun experience in a converted bank. Helpful staff who provide good recommendations. The brusselsprouts were light and crispy. The salmon was cooked perfectly. At lunch, there are mocktails, and you get a bit of a speakeasy vibe from the bar. The architecture and decor is very interesting and you can feel the historical nature of the building. We arrived about 11:40 AM with plenty of seats, but by 12:15 PM it was packed. Great for business lunches and friends gatherings. Probably a good datenight spot.

My wife and I Absolutely loved our lunch at Brown & Loe! We split ordered the Apache Burger, and it was incredible — juicy, flavorful, and the greasy fry bread added the perfect crispy-chewy texture. seriously one of the best burgers I’ve had in KC. We also shared the sweet corn hush puppies with pork belly and hot honey — the flavors were on point, and the hush puppies were fried to golden perfection. Sweet, savory, and crispy all in one bite. To top it all off, we finished with a slice of key lime pie and coconut cream tart — both were light, refreshing, and the perfect ending to a great meal. We sat out on the patio, which had a great view and relaxed vibe right in the heart of the River Market. Excellent service thanks to our server Emily, and amazing food— we’ll definitely be back!

Quick, friendly service | Exquisite meals We were quickly seated outside after walking in and loved to watch the City Market crowds as we ate. Our waitress, Chloe, provided the most genuine service and really took this experience to the next level. Her patience, warmth, and love for her job was evident through each interaction. Our table enjoyed Pineapple Mimosas, Quiche Florentine, Classic Breakfast, and Hash. All made fresh, presented eloquently, and full of flavor. Price was extremely reasonable and we can’t wait to return!

Giving 5 starts is not making any justice to this place! Omg what an experience. We went for my bday dinner and it was amazing. Environment: noise/ loud Food: best taste ever! From the starters to the mains. Full of flavors and perfect combination. We ordered the hummus with falafel and the guacamole with carne asada. Both were just great. They have the perfect amount of ingredients. The portions are huge! For the mains we ordered the ossobuco and the ziti, we could not believe they could be so well done! My mouth was having a fest! For dessert we had the Choco flan with pecans very nice and tasty but to be honest the consistence was more like a pudding not so much a flan. Bar: huge selection of different alcoholic brands, from wine, beer, tequila, fernet, etc. restroom: you have 1 in the main level and 1 downstairs. Service : very nice! They were always checking and making sure we have all we need. If you like to have a great flavor course of food this is the place. Congrats to the chefs.

I had a wonderful experience at Brown & Loe! The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and full of historic charm, a perfect spot for both casual lunches and special dinners. I highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back!

Our friends who have lived in Kansas City for years suggested we go to Brown & Loe for dinner before seeing Cats at MTH (the show was fantastic! Best version I’ve seen). So I made a reservation. We arrived at 5:15 for our reservation and were seated immediately in Chloe’s section. She was fantastic from start to finish. You may wish to ask for her because she is just a fantastic person and competent and capable server. We started out with appetizers. My friends ordered the calamari. My wife loves that, but I don’t so she was happy to have some. I ordered half a dozen blue point oysters on the half shelf. They were very good. I tried a piece of a calamari and to my surprise, enjoyed it. It was not overcooked or over breaded like most I have had in the Midwest. My wife got the Taos salad with chicken she enjoyed very much! I was fortunate enough to snag a bite or two from her and it was truly excellent. My buddy shared a bite of the Osso Bucco and it was superb!! I ordered the meatloaf with goat cheese mashed potatoes, and green beans. The meatloaf also had a nice pan gravy and French onions. Truly a delight. We got a nice bottle of sparkling rosé for the table, which was delicious. The only snag of the whole evening was waiting for them to chill the wine. I’m not sure why they would offer sparkling wines and not have them chilled prior. A minor and annoyance, but not enough to deduct a star from this fabulous establishment. The prices were fair, the atmosphere was outstanding, and we will be returning many times in the future! We will ask for Chloe.

I ordered the ham and pear sandwich with parmesan truffle fries and the combo worked really well together. The flavors were balanced and the food didn’t feel fussy. The architecture and decor quietly elevate the experience. The staff were friendly and efficient. I’ll be back to try more of what they offer.

Most of the other reviewers have better pictures, so I don’t have any pictures of the actual . This was our first experience here. Ample parking close by, and nice proximity to the street car. Once inside, we were seated immediately. I loved the details they kept from the old bank in the super high ceilings. Certainly gives a classy aesthetic and it’s easy to imagine things a century ago. We brought a party of seven for a birthday, and overall were not disappointed. The service was helpful, adequate and definitely not overbearing. Our waiter was quite observant, kept drinks filled, and followed the appropriate etiquette. I appreciate that. We had a variety of drinks from martinis to old fashions to beers. The beer list was ample and offered quite a few local breweries. Our group had bread rolls as an appetizer they were tasty… But sticky …. you have been warned. Our group ordered a number of different items ranging from the mustard chicken sandwich, the club, meat Loaf, and the ham and pear sandwich. Across the board, I think food was generally well received. The club, unfortunately apparently had roast beef that had impossible gristle levels, but once they took out the roast beef. The sandwich was nice, and I’m sure probably not the norm. The mustard chicken sandwich got thumbs up from BOTH of the grandparents, the meatloaf was very highly regarded by both people who ordered it, and my ham and pear sandwich was super solid and even better for lunch the next day!!! The jam was is a nice touch. Also, in hind site there was also a positive vote for the Brussel sprout side. They offered my daughter a free dessert for her birthday and she selected the key lime pie which was phenomenal. Thank you. Overall, we had a great experience, the portion sizes were substantial!! I do wish they would’ve carried a more substantial stout either on tap or in can/bottle. There are several local breweries that could definitely fit that. For seven people with drinks, I think our actual bill came to around 250 w/o tip, so very affordable, and we will definitely be back again. I’ve heard they have an amazing brunch. Stay tuned.

French restaurant
Le Fou Frog is a cozy French bistro in historic downtown Kansas City that transports diners to the romance capital of the world with its delicious award-winning cuisine and fine wines. With a sometimes serenading chef, Le Fou Frog is perfect for elevated French dining in intimate quarters. The menu features delectable dishes such as glazed foie gras and escargot as well as steak au poivre made with a Kansas City Strip.
Was quickly greeted and sat at the bar. Friendly greeting and was impressed by the specials list as well as the great recommendations from the bartender. I cannot speak highly enough of how great the service and food was. Such a good experience to be able to visit here and eat some amazing food paired with drinks of the highest quality. I came in expecting to try certain dishes and was led to some others that made the whole experience one I won't forget. I recommend if you are debating where to grab a meal from, you don't miss the chance to stop in. You will not regret it. My next visit through I will have to make Le Fou Frog a must stop for whatever the occasion might be.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. The service was absolutely top notch. We were very impressed with our waiter’s knowledge of both ingredients and menu offerings. The lemon gnocchi and French onion soups, along with the various cocktails and entrees we ordered were fantastic. Many unique things to choose from that you won’t find other places. Dessert was no exception either. We tried the crème brûlée and a lemon blueberry and almond desert that was divine. We also loved the live music and bubbling fountain out on the patio. Perfect for springtime dining. If you are looking for a fun, tasty dinner experience- this is the place.

This had been my favorite restaurant for years. But I think I've grown as a food connoisseur. I wasn't as impressed with the food as I was on my first few visits. It's been years since I've eaten here. Our server was amazing. I love that its a small, kinda hole in the wall. The meals are decently priced for a French restaurant.

First time in. Sat at the bar side table. Excellent drinks. We ordered several appetizers. Beet salad. Smoked trout. Oysters. All delicious. The pasta with truffles was amazing. The desert. I don’t recall what it was by name. But it was pretty much the best, ever. I will return. And the service was excellent. What a fun date night.

It’s always a fantastic time at Le Fou Frog. The ambiance is spot-on — cozy, vibrant, and full of character, making every visit feel special. The food is consistently delicious, beautifully prepared, and full of rich flavor. And those dessert martinis? Absolutely irresistible — the perfect way to end the night and a reason on their own to keep coming back.

Our first time dining at LFF did not disappoint. We were celebrating our anniversary so the intimate setting was perfect. The food and drink options were plentiful and our server was so knowledgeable. We ordered the strip steak and filet. They were cooked to perfection at medium rare. Creme brûlée was a wonderful way to cap the meal. Delicious. Great experience. Won’t hesitate to come back.

I realized when we left that we were leaving a different dimension, a cultivated experience of amazing food, expedient service, live music, all solidified by the red lighting that transported us to this lovely place. I enjoyed the live music (singing) that added to the classy atmosphere. The pappardelle with truffle is possibly the best pasta dish I’ve ever had, its quality only rivaled by dishes I’ve had at Gordon Ramsay restaurants. The noodles were cooked absolutely perfectly and I loved the flavor. I’m still talking about it days later. We also loved the Bisque de Homard and the caesar salad with calamari. I wish we would have visited here sooner. I can’t wait to return!

My husband and I are new to the area having moved from the New York City area and have been trying out various restaurants trying to find our favorite spots. We've tried The Antler Room and The Restaurant at 1900 among others. Le Fou Frog -- hands down -- is the restaurant to beat in our minds. I had been disappointed that the atmosphere in other places wasn't quite what we were hoping for. If you want vibes and atmosphere: Le Fou Frog is the place to go. It's charming meets hip meets comfortable. We would have felt like we fit in if we were dressed up (which we were as we were headed to Swan Lake at the Kauffman right after) or in jeans. On top of that our server, Claire, was incredibly warm, personable, and helpful. The food was incredible to top it all off, and we appreciated not feeling like we were being rushed out the door. Hats off to this place. We'll definitely be returning soon.

Barbecue restaurant
Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que is a popular chain known for its wood-smoked meats and American West-themed setting. The restaurant offers a unique rustic atmosphere, although it may lack the homely feel some prefer. While the food may not always meet expectations of authentic Kansas City BBQ, it still carries a distinctive charm. Despite mixed reviews on portion sizes, many patrons praise the consistently good taste of their BBQ and flavorful sauces.
First of all this place is huge. Walkable distance from children’s mercy park with plenty of parking. We waited for around 10 minutes for a table since it was a Saturday evening and Sporting KC was playing that night. We ordered a slab of St. Louis style ribs (12 bones) which came with a couple of sides and a corn bread muffin. Initially, I was really skeptical about the taste but I really started liking it from the 2nd rib. They had 3 different kinds of barbecue sauce served in the table. I loved the Devils spit hot sauce. I’ll give 4/5 for the ribs. Other friend who ordered a jalapeño cheddar sausage really liked it too. Sides were okay. Corn bread muffin was great. Service was good & the ambiance was nice too.

*Really disappointed. With me being a huge fan of KC BBQ, I was excited to stop here and try them out. The good: The staff was very friendly, helpful, professional on par with a what a restaurant like this should have. 5 stars all day long. The atmosphere was a little much but still well thought out by the owners/management for their own brand. The food choices looked awesome, the appetizer was awesome, BBQ egg rolls, well done! Then the main food time came... We ordered a Dave's Famous Burger and a BBQ Salad. On the burger, it just lacked the taste you expect out of a good burger. The fries, no seasoning worth talking about and just bland. On the BBQ Salad, there was WAY to much going on. The very thin layer of meat on top was good but underneath it was filled with ingredients that had no business being there. I am not sure if it was just cabbage or actually coleslaw added but it didn't work with the other flavors. I ate the top layer and called it good. Disappointed for the price. I consider myself a BBQ Salad connoisseur of sorts lol so I am super crucial over them. I won't say I'll never go back, I will say that I am not going out of the way to do it.

Had a great lunch here. Was very affordable and delicious. Favorites of the family were the jalapeño cheddar sausage, pork, bbq chicken. Brisket was tender but just not as good as the rest of the meats. Burgers were delicious and loved the coleslaw. The corn biscuits were amazing. Our server was great and the whole staff was very friendly. We were greeted right away by whom I assume to be a manager and several wait staff right as we entered. Overall great experience.

Found plastic in my chopped pork. When the manager came over, he grabbed it real quick, looked at it. And then wrapped it up in a napkin real quick and took it away. They tried to bring me another meal, but of course I wasn't going to eat more food there. The manager acted like it was no big deal, and I was overreacting. Finding plastic in food is absolutely disgusting and the way they handled was atrocious. I will NEVER go back there again, which is sad because we have eaten there a lot. I'm glad I got pictures of it, because they sure did take that plastic and throw it away quickly and tried to be discreet about it.

We love Famous Dave's! But today was by far the worst food and service we've ever had. Stopped in for a late lunch. There might have been 3 other tables with customers. Our service was lousy at best. The bartender/ our server acted as though we were putting her out, having to wait on us or even talk to us. We watched her and another server take a drink out a drink they served to someone in the other room. Our food took forever and was barely warm. Hope the next time we go, it's a busy weekend evening where the service and food are so much better.
Sherry S — Google review
Overall, it was a decent experience. Service was very friendly and very accommodating of my wife's celiac disease and providing gluten-free options. My rib tips were very chewy, and I'm pretty sure they were overcooked/smoked. But they were still mostly enjoyable. My wife said her brisket salad was quite underwhelming. I tried the "brisket," and it tasted like rubbery roast beef. Not great. They were busy, but we only had a 15 minute wait.

I hosted an event for 40 people at the Kansas City, KS location. The manager, Donald, was so helpful! He was able to work with me to make sure that everyone in my group had plenty of food for a reasonable price. He always responded to my questions in a timely and friendly way! I cannot remember the name of our server, but he was great too. He waited on all 40 of us and did it with a smile! This is impressive considering there were roughly 35 little girls... I will definitely be visiting this Famous Dave's again.

Jack Stack Barbecue - Freight House is a popular local chain offering a wide range of barbecue options, including steak and seafood. The restaurant provides ample outdoor dining space with socially distanced tables on the patio and in the parking lot. Guests can savor Kansas City-style barbecue platters accompanied by sides like cheesy corn bake and onion rings while enjoying live music on Wednesdays.
Truly incredible bbq - a step up from Joe’s. Joes has better sauce. But Jack Stack clears every other way. The sides are better (beans are comparable at both), the meats better, and you get significantly more food. We got Jacks Best for 4 and it’s an impressive amount of food, 3 people couldn’t finish it. The beef ribs are extremely fatty and tender and juicy - they are the best thing on the menu hands down. The pork ribs are also quite good, the sausage next, finally the burnt ends and lastly the beef brisket. Honestly, no point getting the beef brisket, the beef ribs are better in every way. I also really enjoyed the sides, and the pickles and the pickled onions to help cut the fat. The nicer ambiance and seating also help distinguish it from Joes. It isn’t much of a competition, if you had to pick one come to Jack Stack.

The bar area before we got our table was wonderful. Michelle at the bar and another lady were very busy, but never missed us in 2 hours. When we got our table the waiter Bobby was one of the best I've ever had at any restaurant and had recommendations. Our food was amazing. Unfortunately I drank way to much following a long stint on a diet and passed out in front of their bathroom. The manager and bobby along with my friends were able to help me recover and get us on our way and even gave us cupcakes to go. 10/10 would come again. 3/10 would recommend passing out in front of their bathroom door.

This place offers a memorable Kansas City barbecue experience with incredible decor and atmosphere that really sets the tone. Our waiter struck the perfect balance—friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The food was a bit of a mix: the smoked jalapeño cornbread had great texture and was beautifully baked, but fell short on flavor. The beef burnt ends carried good smoky taste but were on the dry side. The pork spare ribs, however, were the highlight—tender, juicy, and falling off the bone. The baked beans and potato salad were some standouts, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Overall, a strong BBQ spot with standout dishes and a great environment, though not every item was a hit.

Solid spot in KC with some creative drinks and good BBQ. Everything was priced fairly. The drinks were poured generously and the BBQ had solid flavor. Our server was really nice and got us everything in a timely manner. If in the area I recommend checking out!

Josh!!! Huge shoutout to our waiter Josh! Phenomenal customer service is hard to find these days. You my friend deserve to be celebrated. You are appreciated beyond words can express…. THANK YOU! This establishment was wayyy more than what I was expecting! I was blown away by the decor, ambiance, and also the method of ordering. As a Texan, we are used to standing in a line to order in cafeteria style. This restaurant is actually a table service establishment which made the experience even better! We ordered brisket, ribs, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, beans, baked potato, and smoked salmon dip. All were AMAZING!!! Fresh, flavorful, and muy delicioso!! Can y’all please bring this greatest to Texas??? Pretty Please!!!

Fiorella’a Jack Stack does it so good! Best BBQ in KC. Seated 7 very quickly. Very polite, friendly, & professional staff. Outside seating was very comfortable & warm. Our server, Kylee is amazing. The pork & beef burnt ends, sausage, ribs, & lamb were all delicious. Finally, the birthday celebration was so wonderful to bring joy for our ELDERLY guest.

Based on my research and a recommendation from the hotel staff, we went to dinner at Jack Stack as it was supposedly the best BBQ in town. The restaurant is decent and service was fine. I ordered the Cornbread, KC Combo - 3 Meats(Baby Back Ribs, Burnt Ends, and Sausage) with an order of Baked Beans, Corn Bake, Coleslaw, and Potato Bake. The Cornbread, Sausage, and Coleslaw were the best items. I didn't care for the Corn as it was just pieces of corn in cheese sauce. The potato bake was good but extremely heavy. The meats were okay. Some were dryer than I'd prefer.

The lamb ribs are a must have! The turkey is good if you're in to that sort of thing (no shame in admiting it). The brisket was good too, but didn't meet the high standard set by the other meats. Fries were well seasoned and had a good fluffy texture with a crisp outside. If you just want dessert this is a better option than those cookie places. Union Station Kansas City, situated in the Crown Center District, is a beautifully restored and fully operational train station dating back to 1914. It houses the Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium, Science City, and the Regnier Extreme Screen Theatre. As the second-largest working train station in the country, it sees numerous Amtrak trains daily.
Union Station. It is one of the greatest buildings ever built. I've loved this place since I was a kid. One of the greatest building marvels of its time. With a rich history from traveling to the Gangster era it's a must see if your visiting Kansas City Missouri 😇

This place was AMAZING!!! It is worthy of a visit by everyone. The place is generally free - that's why you pay for parking. The first 30 minutes are free. Then you pay $7 for up to 5 hours. It's a but of change after that. The place was big. These are free areas that tells you about trains and you get to walk the large hall. At the front of the place is 3 floors that is about the building and how it was build and restored. That part is free. There's 4 restaurants in there, 2 areas you have to pay for the kids (an outdoor play area, and kids science museum), a movie theater, and a free planetarium. There's also a small interacted science museum that has optical illusions. It was $18 per person. And, of course, a gift shop. There's also an Amtrak that runs to St. Louis. So yes, there's a REAL train there too. And a post office. The architecture is Wonderful-Amazing-Superb!!! The restoration is explained on the 3rd floor of the museum. Very interesting. There's also a part about a WW1 monument that's outside. It's free too. Overall, it's a place for the entire family, couples and older ones. No pets allowed, but they wouldn't get much out of it anyway. A must see!! So, why travel outside of the United States? *wisper* no passport.

We had a nice afternoon at Union Station. It had been about 20 years since our last visit and we happened to be there during KC Fringe. We went and visited the museum parts upstairs to learn about the history of the station. We wandered around and saw the Guinness World Record exhibit and we went to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory where we took advantage of their buy 5 get 1 free for their truffles.

Fantastic historic train station in my favorite style (neo-classical). Beautiful building with a nice history display right by the Link walkway. Various things to do in the station, and tons of other activities easily accessible nearby. I also enjoyed the Freight Bridge that connects the station to the restaurants and area North of the station. Perfect place to look down on trains coming and going.

I enjoyed spending the morning here, shopping, browsing the museums and simply walking around. The museums included one for the Kansas City Chiefs football team and model trains. So much to do in one space. I even bought a postcard and mailed it from the Post Office on site.

I visited the third largest train station in the country. Union station has over 100 plus years of History as well as permanent & temporary exhibits, a planetarium & a science center. Restaurants and gift shops and so much more! It is also The site of the Kansas City massacre which took place June 17th, 1933 and involved the notorious Pretty Boy Floyd. Union Station is free to go inside but some of the exhibits have a charge to enter. Beautiful station. Lots to do great food. Definitely must visit while in Kansas City!

Nestled within the historic Union Station in Kansas City, Science City at Union Station is a vibrant and engaging science center perfect for families. This interactive museum boasts over 120 hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity and foster learning among visitors of all ages. Highlights include the DinoLab, where young paleontologists can dig for fossils, and the immersive Arvin Gottlieb Planetarium that takes you on cosmic journeys.
Science City is always a hit with my grandchildren and out of town guests. Maybe adding sone exhibits for kids 12-14 would increase interest. I brought two German families in the last two years and they said it was the highlight of their visit.

Nice STEM based activities for the kids. They had lessons in electricity, magnetism, and physics. Give yourself 3 hours minimum to hit all the exhibits. The outdoor play area is open if there no lightning and no heat index at 105 or more. Checkout the cool water area with cascading buckets and flow control dams that the kids can change. Bring snacks as there are limited places to eat even in union station. One room for improvement: more than a few exhibits were partially out of order. Same with the men’s bathroom. Parking is paid if you are driving and it’s in a parking garage.

They're advertised as $17/ea so it's deceptive, dishonest, and outright LYING when you get there and they have a sign at the ticket counter "A 10% fee is added to all tickets to help fund blahblahblah". Okay, then the tickets are $18.70 and **not** $17.00. Yes, it's only 10% and yes, I'm sure it must be for a very good cause, but that doesn't excuse the deceit. That said, Science City was *very* fun and had lots of informative displays and exhibits as well as things for the whole family to enjoy. We spent over 4 hours there and only left because we eventually got tired of walking around. And I scored 0.033 seconds on the reflex test.

This place is FILTHY! In all my 35 years of life I’ve never been to a dirtier place. There are layers of dust, dirt, oil, grime, & mildew everywhere! I would be shocked if this museum has been cleaned with more than a broom in years. Not to mention the water in the water feature smells like mold instead of having a slight chlorine scent if treated correctly, which could lead to serious illnesses for the littles who were putting it in their mouths & eyes. We were also so disappointed that over half of the “attractions” or activities we tried were either broken or missing pieces. My child was wholeheartedly disappointed in our visit, & I’m sad we paid $57 for this. If you want to visit a clean children’s museum with working features, make the drive down to the Amazeum in Bentonville. Unfortunately I don’t recommend Science City, and we definitely won’t be back.

I can never say enough good things about this place. The memories I've made with my son in this building are those I'll never ever forget. I love that they rotate new exhibits in often, so every time we go there's something different to see. The place is affordable, clean and neverending. Every time we go, there's something we didn't see or notice the last time. This time we visited, it was the reptile and fish room. They fed a snake while we were there.

Great science center. Kids really enjoyed. Lots to experience, very hands on. Kids loved the chip climbing structure near the end. Great for letting them run around and educational at the same time. Spent an be or 2 here

Austrian restaurant
Grünauer, located in the historic dark-wood-and-brick Freight House space, offers an authentic Austrian-German dining experience. The ornate dining room transports you to Vienna and serves refined versions of classic dishes like Wiener schnitzel, sausage sampler, and Schweinebraten. The restaurant also offers traditional salads and a variety of dipping sauces at the bar. Pair your meal with European beer such as weissbiers for a complete experience.
Excellent food, amazing beer, wonderful atmosphere, and the service is outstanding! We sat on the patio on a Sunday evening and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our server, Elton, was a delight. We are recommending this place to everyone!

This place was fantastic. If you're not sure what goulash is due to what America has done to add their spin to it, come here and learn what it really is about. I'm obsessed. The place is super cool as well. Good balance of great food, service, culture, and a sense of family.

Good food Great service. Servers are very knowledgeable and great. The menu changes occasionally. This is our 3rd time there. Although sometimes we get told there's paid parking. Not sure if its depending on the time you go. But it seems to be validated parking for the restaurant. The parking spots are really small and congested.

Food was exceptional. I had the special along with a non-alcoholic model of sparkling. We had a appetizer with wienerschnitzels and pretzels which was really good. The goulash was so so. The mushroom part and the flavor was really good though. My Thursday special lamb shank was really tasty. We sat on the patio and since it's super dark they gave up one of those cool table lamps. The patio furniture the tables and the chairs were plastic and I'm not entirely impressed by those. I think that screams really cheap and that's all I have to say about that. The restroom was really nice and had hot water and massive sink on pedestal.

Wow talk about an experience! The vibes and dim lite lighting set the tone for this dinner. The waiter went over everything on the menu. Very informative. I got the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts. (Sorry I can’t remember what it was actually called) The pork chop was like nothing I’ve ever had. It was extremely extremely tender no knife needed to cut. It melted like butter in your mouth with that nice sweet essence of the sweet potato mash incredible.! of course I got a Stein of the KC beer and boy, It was a chore to drink it all, but was it worth it!

Grünauer was delicious. I've not had authentic Austrian-German food before, but I got the sense that it was as close as I could get without traveling. I ordered the Würstlteller, and chose the bratwurst and käsekrainer (pork and cheese). Both were delicious and fresh. I accidentally order the 4 pieces of hausbrot, but I'm glad I did because the four different types of bread were a great compliment to the wurst. Washed it all down with a Paulaner Hefe. I got the sense that the wait staff knew the menu extremely well, but would not scoff at mispronunciations or English versions of the meal names. The atmosphere was fancy, and I could see myself and my significant other going there for a date night. I will absolutely return.

Big fan of this place, and my favorite restaurant ever. I consider myself Grünauer‘s top fan 🤣 Absolutely delicious Austrian cuisine, delicious dark lager, and the staff are kind and amazing! As a German, I appreciate what this restaurant has to offer. My recent trip to Grünauer was in October, me and my fiancé celebrated our 5th year anniversary (He proposed before dinner! 💍). We’ve been coming here for every anniversary, we just can’t get enough of the warm atmosphere and (again) spectacular food. We had some members of the staff congratulate us, and we were even served glasses of Rosé.. On the house! I love this place ❤️ It’s always on my list of restaurant recommendations.

This place was so tasty! We ordered the UNGARISCHES RINDSGULASCH, WIENER SCHNITZEL (pork loin), HAUSBROT (bread service), and TOPFENSTRUDEL. The ungarishches had the perfect spice level and the meat just melted in your mouth. The pasta it came with was so fun and tasty. Very saucy dish, I loved it. The schnitzel had so many refreshing toppings to add to the pork. It really helped make the dish not feel so heavy from the cutlet. One of the toppings is this cucumber salad and I could eat that by itself honestly. I also loved the lingonberry. The hausbrot was fun! Came with whipped butter and a cheese thing. Also used the bread to soak in some of my sauce on my dish so dual purpose! The dessert was to die for. It was like a mix of bread pudding and cheesecake with a dollop of cream on top. So good! I would def come back here if I’m ever in Kansas City again. We sat in the patio while the Chappell roan concert went on. Couldn’t hear much of her but we would hear the crowds every now and then. Fun atmosphere, for sure. The dress code for the patio is more laid back than the inside. There was also an insane wait for the inside compared to being seated right away in the patio (beer garden).

Fine dining restaurant
Pierpont's is a fine dining restaurant in Union Station that offers American cuisine in an historic setting. The restaurant has high ceilings and a mahogany bar, and offers prime steaks and seafood as well as a vast wine list. The daily Happy Hour at Pierpont's is one of the popular attractions at Union Station.
**Pierpont's Restaurant: A Valentine's Day Delight (with a few minor hiccups)** Pierpont's at Union Station proved to be a wonderful choice for our Valentine's Day celebration. While there were a couple of small issues, overall the experience was fantastic, and we'd happily return. We opted for the Valentine's Day special, and it certainly delivered in some areas. The lobster mac and cheese was absolutely divine – rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The pear salad was another highlight, offering a unique and appealing blend of tastes that pleasantly surprised us. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, exactly as we requested, and melted in our mouths. Unfortunately, the carrot cake dessert was a bit of a letdown. It had an unusual seasoning that was quite prominent and, for us, detracted from the overall flavor profile. It wasn't to our liking, and sadly, we couldn't finish it. On the positive side, the restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The bartenders and our waitress were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We appreciated that our reservation was honored promptly, and we were seated without any significant wait. Our table was by a window, which, while offering a nice view, did have a noticeable cold draft. However, the restaurant's interior temperature was comfortable, so it wasn't too bothersome. Despite the dessert issue and the drafty window, we had a great experience at Pierpont's. The delicious food, attentive service, and overall ambiance made for a memorable Valentine's Day dinner. We would definitely recommend it for a special occasion and look forward to dining there again in the future.

If you didn’t know, Pierpont’s offers a monthly afternoon tea and it’s easily one of the most memorable experiences in Kansas City. Make sure you sign up for the newsletter, because it frequently sells out and is absolutely worth reserving a spot. We’ve gone over the past several months, and each visit was creative, delicious, and thoughtfully curated. Each Afternoon Tea is set to a unique theme, which makes every experience feel fresh and fun. It’s also a great excuse to be creative yourself and dress up to match the theme. The tea itself was excellent, with a rotating selection of miniature sandwiches, fresh scones or pastries with clotted cream, and a final row of sweet treats. The specialty cocktail always reflected the theme, something unique and perfectly paired with the menu. Lizzie and Jennifer were always incredibly attentive, making sure every table was taken care of and creating such a welcoming atmosphere. It'll be part of our treasured memories of our time here in Kansas City!

It was such an amazing place. The whole staff was amazing start to finish. It was my 1st time dining there and we went for date night. The host staff prepared us a special intimate table just for us and a romantic setting. It was so thoughtful of them. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Afterwards we had some night caps at the bar top which was an awesome show as well. The bartenders are not only very social but also some showmanship there with they way they make their drinks. I overall recommend 10/10

We had a fabulous meal here with a variety of food. Service was great! I loved my crab cakes and the fresh baked bread they bring out is addictive. Mom had the boar and it was delicious too. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. The atmosphere is beautiful and it’s a lovely place for a romantic or family dinner. Great looking bar!

We went for our 1st anniversary. TLDR The food was delicious. And the service was great. While the dinner was expensive, it was 100% worth it. My wife described our dinner as "achieving her dream of a perfect meal". And while I think that's extreme, it was one of the best dinner experiences I've had. We had crab cakes, a charcuterie board, steaks, and dessert. The asparagus with my steak came out perfectly. Our steaks were delicious. And the recommendations our server made for wine and dessert were great. On that note, our server Garrick was every cent he gets paid and tipped (hopefully he gets paid a lot). I already mentioned his recommendations. But also he took note that I didn't drink alcohol so when he brought our champagne for my wife to celebrate our anniversary he also brought me a sprite in a champagne glass so I had some bubbly drink with her. Honestly we are considering making Pierponts our anniversary dinner restaurant every year.

We dined on Easter for their prefix Easter brunch menu. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. They had great wine and cocktail choices. We started our meal with several PEI Oysters that did not disappoint. The myagi are not to missed and was a great recommendation from our waiter. I really enjoyed the beet salad. Simplicity at its best. The Cesar was also good but my daughter and I both agreed the beet salad was the better of the two. For our entrees we went with the sweet potato hash and the steak and eggs. Wow! Both of these dishes were extremely delicious and the flavors were out of this world. The sweet potato hash had the best of both worlds from sweet and savory. Excellent. My coffee rubbed strip was truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The layers of flavor from the coffee, steak, and the garlic butter was extraordinary! For dessert we went with the lemon raspberry cheesecake and flourless chocolate torte. What a way to end the meal. I am so glad we chose Pierponts for our Easter meal. I highly recommend for any occasion.

My wife, son, I came to Union Station to see Planetarium. After the show we were hungry and wanted to go to Pierpont's and that was the best decision we made. Wearing shorts and a tye dye shirt, I felt so underdressed. But I want to give a big shout out to our server Larry. He made us feel better and more comfortable saying we were fine. I want to thank Larry for his impeccable service from explaining the menu and options and answering our questions. To serving our orders. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was so delicious. I ordered an old fashion that was the best I've ever had anywhere, period. 5 🌟 to the bartender. And didn't get the girl servers' name, but she was very friendly and made us feel comfortable as well. Pierpont's is actually the very best restaurant we've been to in KC, Better than The Majestic, or Eddy Vs. They have nothing on Pierpont's. Thank you for one of the most fantastic meals our family has ever eaten. We will be regulars from now on. Can't wait to come back. Jeff, Elisha, and Ian.

A beautiful historic building! It was my partner and myself's 4 year anniversary, and our server treated us so nicely with extra goodies. The food may be expensive, but it's WORTH it. Every bite I took was not to simply fill myself, but enjoy the excellent flavors.

Hamburger restaurant
Fritz's is a classic American diner with a train theme located at Crown Center. The restaurant offers a nostalgic experience with model trains delivering food to your table after you order via a telephone at your booth. The menu features signature burgers, crinkle-cut fries, and milkshakes. For dessert, guests can visit the neighboring Sheridan's Custard for various flavors and mix-ins. While the atmosphere is lively with the train deliveries, it may be loud due to its popularity among families.
A hit with the little ones, especially our train lover! The food is delivered by trains that run along the ceiling above every table. Additionally, you use a phone at the table to order. The food itself is average. Not AMAZING but not bad. I got the Freddie Burger and it was pretty good! However it was very mustard-y, so be warned if you don't like mustard. Overall a very cool restaurant to visit, especially if you have littles. In the end you're pretty much paying for the experience rather, but it is worth it!
Andrea E — Google review
Nice atmosphere, especially for kids. The food was delivered by small trains, something that was very exciting for the kids. Burgers were ok. Nothing special. The stag was polite and friendly. Good prices.
Yianna S — Google review
Pretty good burgers, great onion rings, and most of the staff was pretty friendly. Loved the atmosphere though! All the little trains in the cases and walla moving around. AND your food is delivered by train and lowered to your table. 😂 Would be great for entertaining kids.
Jeff K — Google review
Pros: (1) Very unique theming (2) flavorful fried pork tenderloin, bacon, barbeque grilled chicken, fried chicken (3) overall prices aren’t too bad Cons: (1) soda refills cost the full price of the drink ($3.50 ish) (2) Burger patties were tough and flavorless (3) Large fries were sorta small for the price (4) Fries and onion rings weren’t all that flavorful (5) Our train delivery was missing one sandwich so we had to have someone go up to the counter to get the missing item
N A — Google review
It's more about the trains and atmosphere rather than the food. Food is meh deep fried nuggets, hot dog split into a hamburger bun etc. however the displays and trains make up for it. Perfect for kids though we enjoyed this location more than the one in Shawnee.
Tammi J — Google review
Come for the aesthetic, but expect the food to be disappointing and overpriced. The chicken nuggets were the same quality you’d find inside of a lunchable. None of your items come with fries. You have to purchase those separately. The total for 5 people ended up being over $100 without taxes or tip. If it were higher quality food I’d understand the price…
Raven B — Google review
This place is defiantly a fun experience. You order your food through telephone and then a train that runs the track above your table delivers it to you. Kids thought it was amazing. The food however was mediocre at best.
Matthew M — Google review
Cool place for kids but omg food is bad. Stale buns with hard edges... Meat less quality than McDonalds. Hotdog served on a hamburger bun. Not told I had to order from the phone so sat there for 10 minutes. Love the concept though... Step up the food quality and service. Heck, you can even raise the prices.

Restaurant
Arthur Bryant's Barbeque is a renowned establishment in Kansas City, known for its smoked meats served with Wonder bread and fries in a simple self-service setting. The restaurant has gained widespread fame, attracting notable figures such as U.S. presidents, movie stars, and baseball players. It originated from the legacy of Henry Perry, the 'father of Kansas City barbecue,' and has been thriving since Arthur Bryant took over ownership.
I’ve been in KC for four years and only tried one or two BBQ spots. It was time to give Arthur Bryant’s a shot. Ordered: The 18th and Vine (pulled pork sandwich topped with coleslaw) 3B (brisket point burnt ends on a bun) Cheesy corn The pulled pork was sauced and it was very good. A little greasy so be careful with that if that is a concern. The flavor was great and the coleslaw helped tame the heat of the sauce. A nice cool down. 8/10 The burnt ends were on point (pun intended). No need for sauce, just take it from the tray to your pie hole. 9/10 Cheese corn was good. I only had a bite. Wife loved it. Solid 8/10. Service was good. Loud environment but we weren’t coming out for fine dining. It was served quickly and eaten even quicker. Definitely worth the stop.

While on a road trip, we spent a couple days in St Louis and a couple days in Kansas City. Our goal was to find great BBQ, and we did. Our favorite, by far, was Arthur Bryant’s. It was so good, we made a second trip on our way out of town. The ribs were the best I’ve ever had, and the sides were all absolutely solid. Some have criticized the service; I’d say it fits the atmosphere of an unpolished institution that’s been cranking out amazing smoked meat for over a hundred years. Their sauce is very different, and delicious, take on BBQ sauce. We should have grabbed a bottle to go, but I don’t think I’m capable of making anything that will do the sauce justice. First day I got a half rack of ribs. That was a mistake, so the second day I got a full rack, and that was the right call…….although I miss them already. I’m not saying to pass on other spots or to not do your own research, because the search is the fun part, but if you’re looking for great BBQ, you owe it to yourself to visit Arthur Bryant’s.
TJ B — Google review
Arthur Bryant’s is classic Kansas City barbecue at its finest. The burnt ends are perfectly caramelized, the ribs are smoky and juicy, and the sauce is tangy, spicy, and unforgettable. Sides like baked beans and cheesy corn are rich and flavorful, but the real star is the meat. No frills, no shortcuts—just old-school barbecue done right. A must-visit for any BBQ lover.
Lucian W — Google review
The sauce is unique to any other place we’ve tried. More of a chili powder / adobo style flavor with a thick tomato base. The meats were moist and had good flavor. Nostalgic diner feel complete with slick grease layered floors. 4 stars on service/atmosphere because the employees were short, indirect, and overall unenthused to welcome patrons.

Was in town for business, Google recommend Arthur Bryant's for top rated Bbq restaurant. I must have caught them on an off day. Ordered Brisket and Turkey, with Fries and a drink. I never had Brisket served shaved off a slicer, and hopefully, never again. Extremely dry, no smoke flavor. The Turkey was not much better. Fries were cold and and greasy. They must be living off the nostalgia of this place. Was not impressed.

We came here exactly a year ago and fell in love with the food here. This year on our annual trip we decided to drive out of our way for a level of disappointment none of us were ready for. The line was empty in there when we got there. We came early enough to beat any rush. Let’s start by saying, I’ve never been treated so poorly. It’s evident that our family was treated much differently than people of color and regulars. From the meat clerk to the cashier, they were nothing but rude and short to be frank but turned rather mean when I said we’d be paying card. They asked us for cash more than once offering discounts and deals. As we sat, they passed cash around behind the windows. Our food was even worse. We were handed the worst cuts of brisket and grease spilled from the pulled pork. For over $100, we could have enjoyed a nice sit down meal somewhere. We will never be back. They lost their quality. The forgot their kindness. Most of all the lost our service and our recommendation. There are plenty of better places to get quality food and this is unfortunately not one of them. Per the response from the business: You were not having payment issues. They took my card just fine. So either your employees are screwing you and stealing from you or you’re screwing with numbers to report less income to the IRS. Ask your employees about that family discount.
Tay G — Google review
Food lives up to the legend, but everything else needs attention. I visited today and had the burnt ends and pork ribs — excellent and true to the legacy. I hope the original recipes are being faithfully passed down. To be objective: beyond the food there isn’t much. The dining room was dirty, there were flies, and the service felt careless and indifferent. If not for the food, I wouldn’t have a reason to return. I won’t dissuade first-timers from visiting this Kansas City icon, but be prepared: you’ll come for the heritage — and sadly, you’ll also see how it’s fading. The ribs were outstanding; that’s a fact.

My Wife and I were looking for BBQ in KC and we decided to go to Aurthur Bryant’s. They have some signs up at the windows explaining sauce and they can apply it if you like, or they can let you put it on at the table. They have pump style sauce out that you can help yourself to. I had the brisket with baked beans. The baked beans were very good, they had chunks of meat so tender in there that it was the next level of special. If you’re reading this I would like to say if you order the brisket it is quite a lot of meat. I ate half of it and the other half will likely be my dinner another day. My wife got the 1/2 brisket, she also ate half. It was tender and the sauce made it very good. We went with original. The rings were sitting there for a while it seemed and were not nearly as special as the baked beans. The bread looks fresh and full of bounce but honestly it’s not brisket so I moved it to the side so I could eat more brisket. There are a lot of classic photos on the wall and I was treated with respect while I was there. There was a line and I would say we waited about 10 minutes to order. The parking is great there, plenty of space. The cups you could save if you’re a tourist. There was a variety of sauce you could buy, tee shirts seemed like they were available but they were mostly sold out. I originally ordered Burnt ends but they were out.

When visiting Kansas City, don't miss the opportunity to explore the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, which showcases the history of segregated baseball leagues from their founding in 1920 to Jackie Robinson's groundbreaking debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. The museum's 10,000-square-foot facility houses a rich collection of photographs, films, and artifacts that depict the significant role played by African-American baseball leagues during the 20th century.
This is an outstanding museum that captures a comprehensive picture of the Negro Leagues and the players. I had the privilege to hear the president of the museum speak so eloquently and passionately about the players and bring the history to life. This is a “must visit” museum for any serious baseball fan and the quality of the museum and quantity of exhibits and displays is a testament to so many historians with a passion for keeping this amazing piece of baseball history alive for future generations.

An amazing experience with my family. I loved everything about this museum. We learned a lot of new things about the history of black men and women in baseball. Truly a wonderful experience and I will definitely visit again.

YES! Had a wonderful time in the museum. Lots and lots of information and artifacts from the league. You are also treated to a short documentary about how and why the league was started. The museum also gives a timeline of things going on around the world as the league was forming and prospering. The museum is for everyone and all will enjoy. If you are a music fan you can walk over to the Jazz Museum when you finish.

What an amazing experience this was to visit. I am a sports fan but prefer football and this was still awesome. We attended an event and also had jazz music playing. Everyone should take the opportunity to learn some additional history in the area.

Great film to start the museum, so please watch it. There are many exhibits to see and learn from. At the end there is a small field with bronze statues of Satchel Paige, Josh Gibson and other legends chosen to be the starting 9. A great addition to my trip on way to Kauffman Stadium to knock it off as my 29th out of 30.

I visited on October 18, and it was a 15 out of 10. This is a must visit for everyone especially Baseball fans who are visiting Kansas City, Missouri. The history, memorabilia and artifacts were overwhelming. It was an eye opening experience, when I saw how black baseball players were treated in the early 1900’s and beyond it left a horrible feeling in my stomach. Thanks again for sharing your Museum with me.

Visitors can enjoy live jazz performances without any cover charge while sipping on cocktails and wines from the extensive menu. Additionally, the lounge provides appetizers to complement the musical experience.
This place was packed and lively and truly felt like THE place to be. We had to wait at the door to be escorted in. Seating was definitely limited, but the atmosphere was friendly and accommodating. A group welcomed us with open arms to sit at the table really close to them…almost a shared space. We visited and they filled us in on the best drinks. I wish I could remember what I ordered, but I only got a picture. I tried a few different drinks and all were very good…crafted perfectly. Make sure to venture to the basement where there’s a completely different band playing. The red glow, mirrors, and chandeliers throughout make for great pictures! I will definitely return to this jazz lounge!

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once you walk into the Green Lady Lounge, I think you'll be blown away. Both the main level and the lower level offer unique experiences. They charge a cover even when bands aren't performing, but when I stopped by during the day to check it out, they let me look around without charging me. My wife and I went back later that evening and had a great time. Great drinks and wonderful jazz music. Highly recommend you try out both areas!!!

The Green Lady Lounge is a really nice spot to enjoy live jazz in Kansas City. The atmosphere is relaxed with comfortable seating and mood lighting, and the music was excellent. The drinks were well made, and the service was friendly. It’s an easy place to spend a few hours and enjoy good music without feeling rushed or crowded. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in town.

Incredible atmosphere. Very talented jazz players. Definitely gets packed pretty quickly so I would advise getting in on the earlier side of things if you want a seat.
Nicole J — Google review
Relaxing, tranquil, serene, vibes, and so much more that can’t be put into words! The live music was amazing! Takes you on a journey and allows you to momentarily escape from the toxicity of the world. Service was amazing! Drinks were creative and refreshing! Anytime I’m in KC, I will be sure to visit!
Germanie J — Google review
One of the best jazz nightclubs, awesome vibes, great mixed drinks, wonderful staff, and friendly bouncers smiling to greet you as you provide some entry cash. Lights down low, lounge sofas and chairs, cool bar… all in a nondescript building. And all tripped off by some EXCELLENT musicians (challenging to lol get their photo in this low lighting, live it!). Every time I’m in KC for a week business trip, this is the place I’ll frequent multiple nights… it is “that” cool. Don’t miss this gem!
Rob T — Google review
Love Green Lady Lounge! I only get there once every few years as I'm from Minnesota, but was in KC for a wedding last weekend. I made sure to stop in and show my husband my favorite KC spot. Great music, delicious drinks, and friendly staff. The atmosphere is so cool too! Can't go wrong with gawdy, vintage decor and red lights 😍 I'm not sure when, but I WILL be back.
Kari L — Google review
The Green Lady Lounge is a classy, speakeasy-style cocktail and jazz lounge with an inviting, old-school charm. There’s a $10 cover charge, and they check IDs at the door. Once you step inside, smooth jazz music fills the air, setting the perfect mood. The lighting is warm and atmospheric, with beautiful vintage hanging lanterns adding to the nostalgic vibe. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the live band was fantastic—definitely one of the highlights of the night. They offer both cocktails and mocktails, with mocktails priced around $10 and cocktails starting at $12, depending on your choice of liquor. My favorite drink was the Berries and Cream mocktail, while my husband loved the Dark & Spicy Mule. While they don’t serve full meals, they do have a few snack items and desserts to enjoy alongside your drinks. I also appreciated that when you close out your tab, you have the option to tip the band directly on your receipt—a nice touch that supports the live music. Overall, The Green Lady Lounge is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great jazz, quality drinks, and an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere.

Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
SEA LIFE Kansas City Aquarium is a captivating destination that showcases over 5,000 sea creatures in various ocean habitats. Located at the Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, this family-friendly attraction offers interactive experiences such as the TouchPool where visitors can interact with marine life like crabs and starfish. The aquarium also features an impressive underwater tunnel providing a 360-degree view of marine ecosystems. Educational presentations and a kids quiz trail add to the engaging experience for all ages.
Our visit to the Sea Life aquarium at Crown Center was an unforgettable dive into wonder and discovery. From the moment we stepped inside, we were immersed in a world that felt both tranquil and thrilling—like walking through a living, breathing underwater storybook. Each exhibit was thoughtfully designed to engage both kids and adults alike. Watching sharks and rays glide overhead in the Ocean Tunnel was absolutely mesmerizing, and the vibrant coral reef displays had our whole family pausing to soak in the colors and movement. The interactive touch pools were a huge hit—there's nothing quite like seeing your child's face light up as they gently feel a starfish or horseshoe crab for the first time. What we especially appreciated was how educational the experience was, without ever feeling like a classroom. The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and ready with answers that brought the ocean to life. Even for us grown-ups, there were plenty of surprising facts and captivating stories tucked into each corner. Whether you're local or just visiting, the Kansas City Sea Life offers a perfect blend of hands-on exploration, awe-inspiring sights, and meaningful family connection. It left us not only entertained but inspired—and already dreaming about our next underwater adventure.

Went to Sea Life aquarium today with my daughter and grandson today. He was excited to see all the fish and walk thru the exhibit. They had a touch pool for him to reach in and touch some of the animals. He enjoyed that part. There were touch screens for him to clear the beach. All in all, it was a good day.

Great little aquarium with Lego World attached. There were turtles, stingrays, sharks and many others. We had a blast walking through being kids and taking in all the sea life. Would have liked it to be a little bigger with more to see, but was well worth the visit anyway. Staff was helpful and friendly.

First time going to sealife, it eas an awesome experience. Loved all of it. Great place to take your children and learn about different sea life out there. My favorite was the sea dragons, as the way they look and swim was very 3d or unreal to me. For a family of 4 with 2 of the $5.00 add event for children to do throughout the visit for a prize at the end it cost $100 with taxes, and got free parking for 5 hours with ticket validation over $50 spent. We'll worth it. Also at the end they have virtual reality that you can do that cost $7.00 and you can choose to dive with dolphins, sharks and couple more. Also can take a photo at the very beginning that you can choose different background but cost $30.00 if you decide to purchase.

It was a great experience! They had more than I expected, but lacked certain key attractions. There were no cephalopods (octopus, squid, cuttlefish), no crabs or lobsters or shellfish, and only a few sharks. No mammals, either. Not even seals. They did have sea turtles, though, which was awesome. Including the Kemp's Ridley sea turtle, which is the rarest. They had a ton of stingrays and manta rays, which we fed for an extra charge. Unfortunately, they don't let you touch them, which is sad because they are so intelligent and affectionate. We were only allowed to touch some sea urchins, which was honestly a bit underwhelming. Overall, it was worthwhile for a single visit.
Paul R — Google review
We loved every minute of it here! We were there for about an hour and a half. We saw lots of cool animals and the kids loved to touch the starfish and sea urchins. We spent the extra money to go on the behind the scenes tour and it was totally worth it. We had Sage as our guide and they were amazing! Knowledgeable and cracking jokes that made us laugh! They made the tour well worth it and if you could ask for them I would!
Brian S — Google review
Was not as exciting for how big the building is. It was nice and there are a lot of cool sea animals to look at. Did not like that they were cashless because we had cash on us for the trip
Rita C — Google review
I've been to a few different Sea Life Aquariums. This has been the smallest one I've been to. It was still very fun and had many interactive attractions - probably the most I've seen at any Sea Life - which the kids LOVED. Their favorite was being able to draw your own fish and then release it into the virtual aquarium and watch it swim around. What a plus that Legoland is in the same building so you can see both attractions in a day!

Venezuelan restaurant
Empanada Madness is a vibrant South American restaurant located in Kansas City, offering a delightful selection of traditional Venezuelan empanadas. These savory pastries are filled with options like shredded beef, chicken, or potato and eggs. The restaurant has gained popularity among locals and even attracted Royals catcher Salvador Perez. In addition to their empanadas, Empanada Madness also serves authentic South American dishes such as arepas and Arroz con Pollo.
Delicious food! Long line, but it went by in a flash! Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back and try other dishes. Highly recommend this restraunt.

Excelent! If u want to try latin food this is the place! Recommend 100%
Octavio R — Google review
The empanadas have very good seasoning! I recommend them although personally I like them crunchier! What I didn't like is that personally I felt a little disorganization among the employees, and I ordered 4 empanadas, 2 chicken empanadas, 2 meat empanadas to take away and they sold me the 4 chicken empanadas (I think it's part of the same disorganization that I felt). and I realized 3 hours later when I had already arrived from KC to Salina
Maleja R — Google review
This place is scrape-your-plate-delicious!!! I walked-in thinking I'm not terribly hungry, I'll just get a little bite, I took my first bite of the white rice and realized I may not have ordered enough! By the end of my plate I was stuffed but would have kept going, it, was so good! Along with the amazing food, the staff was happy to explain everything and answer any questions. Just a FANTASTIC experience!!!
Charisse S — Google review
I think this little gem of a restaurant is going unnoticed. They have great South American dishes. I am from Colombia and I can easily say that the food was delicious. I had the Bandeja Paisa which is a favorite dish of the people of Colombia. It is a bit pricey, but I guess this is due to the prime location of the restaurant. I went with my nephew and was surprised that on a Saturday afternoon this restaurant was almost empty. There is much competition since this is in a Food Court. Just give the empanadas a try, or any of the other food, and you will be genuinely pleased.
MrOZ55 — Google review
What a great little gem of a restaurant. Offers the tastes of South America. Sampled multiple entrees and all were very well done and had excellent flavors. Nothing too spicy for those that might shy away but they do offer three types of sauces mild, medium, and spicy to accompany your fish. Food costs are medium. Dessert was good and topped off the lunch. Highly recommend.
Frank J — Google review
Take a trip through South American cuisine by having a meal here. Never had an empanada before. I love them. Nothing fancy here. Just friendly folks who take pride in the food they prepare for their guests.
Robert K — Google review
Really good and stereotypical Venezuelan street food. Looks like they have some natural juices as well. They have the right spread of salsas such as garlic, avocado and spicy. I was surprised about the Cachapa, made with real corn rather than mix and real queso de Mano.

Chocolate shop
Located in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Christopher Elbow Chocolates is a haven for chocolate enthusiasts. The shop offers a variety of handmade chocolates in inventive flavors, all presented in a sleek and artful manner. Each piece of handcrafted chocolate is carefully airbrushed to create vibrant colors and unique flavors such as Venezuelan Spice and Lavender Caramel. While the chocolates are on the pricey side, they are considered some of the best available.
We went on a tour and Ethan was the best. We asked so many questions and he was so patient. The pictures and graphics were well done. Over the years we have purchased so many boxes of chocolate. We rave all over about their chocolates. Thanks for an experience to go with our confections.

This is absolutely delicious chocolate! The box of eight is amazing. What a treat you are up to when you purchase any of the boxes. My personal favorite is the Lavender cream. Highly recommend this box.

This place is absolutely amazing! Christopher Elbow Chocolates was new to us and wow, what a treat it was! Our dear friends invited us to come along for the Gift of Life fundraiser called Go See Do. One of the locations available was this one. We got a lovely informational tour presented by the head chef. We got to taste single origin chocolate from Madagascar, Ecuador and the Vietnam. Delicious! The tour was fantastic and they even gave us a discount to buy some chocolate to take home. Which we did! I appreciated Christopher Elbow supporting a local worthy charity so graciously and generously. The place is incredibly tidy, and the chocolate is the best I've had in my life! Going forward I will be buying all my client holiday gifts here.

Tiffany D — Google review
If you want to talk impress someone with a box of chocolates, Christopher Elbow is *the* premier place to buy chocolates that is located in the south side of downtown Kansas City. Their largest box of chocolates will run you $100 and a small box of four will run about $13. They also sell other delicious chocolate themed items like candy bars that are high in Cocoa and hot cocoa powder. The store itself is charming, very colorful, basic, and inviting. About half of the store is reserved for some seating and restrooms for the guests. It is hard not to get a good feeling when you walk into this well appointed storefront. The gentleman behind of the counter was very helpful and kind in finding just what we were looking for. Like the chocolates, there's definitely a lot of thought that went into creating a storefront and lounge area to make it very lovely and inviting. Their boxes and gift wrapping are also top notch. If you happen to stop in here to buy chocolates, go another two and a half blocks and visit Messenger coffee house. I've included some pictures of the chocolates that are available. If you found this review helpful please give it a thumbs up. Thank you so much!

New American restaurant
Novel Restaurant is a charming New American eatery located in the trendy Crossroads neighborhood of Kansas City. The restaurant offers an ever-changing menu featuring inventive dishes crafted from seasonal ingredients, ensuring a delightful dining experience with each visit. Guests can savor classic cocktails and a selection of wines and beers while indulging in delectable offerings such as spring pea soup, pork toast, or Pekin duck breast with pumpkin seed mole.
Novel Restaurant in Kansas City completely stole our hearts during our anniversary dinner. The space is beautifully designed with an intimate, thoughtful atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable about both the menu and wine selections. We made a reservation a week in advance (highly recommended, as it’s a small, popular spot) and found parking easily behind the restaurant. We started with the bread service — freshly baked, warm, and served with outstanding sea salt butter. The octopus was a true standout — tender, juicy, and perfectly prepared. For entrées, the mushroom ravioli and scallops were both cooked to perfection. We ended the night with their pistachio cheesecake, which absolutely stole the show. Every dish was crafted with so much care, making the night feel extra special. If you’re looking for an incredible dining experience in Kansas City, Novel is a must-visit. Just be sure to book ahead — walk-ins aren’t recommended!

Amazing experience. Top notch food and service from top to bottom. we were recommended this restaurant via wine rep and did not disappoint. Chef Ryan and his team are impeccable, from the presentation of the dishes through and through to the flavors. The wines accomplished the dishes so well everything sang in harmony together. As a chef looking for an experience this was it. Novel hit every mark i was hoping for, from food to wine and hospitality alone. Their hospitality in our unfortunate night was top tier as well. Thank you to the kictchen staff and our server Trey as well. Top notch service, food, cocktails and wine program. You’re missing out by not dining at this establishment.

A very cute and quaint little place. Food was amazing and so were the drinks! We tried the polenta appetizer, a pasta dish and the halibut. Not pictures is the bread and their delicious butter & hummus and we also got a taster of the crab bisque and a salad. They do spread dishes out a bit so you do not feel rushed which is nice.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon in Spring with a group of 4. We were able to be sat at the bar without a booking. We ordered wines by the glass, bread service, the Spanish Octopus and the Hamachi Crudo. Food was fresh and tasted amazing. Excellent texture and flavor! Service was lovely, attentive without being too much, wine was well priced by the glass and was a perfect spot for some share plates with friends. Reasonably priced for 2 drinks each and 3 plates to share was total $125 without tip. Highly recommend. I’ll be back!

We recently tried Novel because we've heard good things and have not tried it yet. Overall, it was a good experience. The breakdown is below. Food - I had the lamb chops and lamp sausage. The chops were good, but the sausage stole the show for me. Great balance of flavors that I could've eaten more of. My wife had the pork chop. She was disappointed in the amount of fat in the chop but was pleased with the flavor. It was a very big portion as well. We shared the bread service that is served with a side of hummus and salted butter. The rye bread we had was delicious. We also shared the fried cauliflower. This was our favorite dish of the night. Not one piece remained. Overall food experience 4 Service - We were seated in a booth adjacent to the bar, so our server was one of the bartenders. He was very friendly. After finding out it was our first visit, he quickly walked us through the menu, suggested the bread service, and left us to decide on drinks. The cocktails were unique and delicious, and our service was spectacular. After dinner, we were offered a fresh brewed cup of coffee, which they roasted in house. Great finish to dinner. The dessert looked good, but we were too stuffed. Overall Service Experience - 5 Atmosphere - The atmosphere is intimate in a small space. The art and design are minimalist. We enjoyed the restaurant. The only minor drawback for us was the closeness of the tables. We were seated at a two person table with a wall bench for seating on one side. The table next to us was close enough that it was difficult to exit our table and not interrupt the patrons seated next to us. We were close enough too that the couple next to us heard our conversation and commented . It's not terrible, but I was a little less comfortable than I like for a higher end dinner. Overall Atmosphere Experience - 3 I enjoyed Novel and expect to visit again. If you haven't heen here, i recommend you give it a try.

Novel is a dreamy spot. Their food is super inventive and delightful. Their service can be a bit slow (it took an hour to get our main course), but I would wait two hours for that pistachio pie. We got drinks - flotation device and some red wine - but the crispy farm egg is a STAR app. One of the best KC restaurants!

I had a reservation with my partner for his birthday on a very snowy, cold day, and we had such a wonderful time! The crew, despite it being a very slow night, was so attentive and fun, even giving us a personalized birthday card. The food was spectacular- we tried multiple small plates and entrees and loved every bite. They were very accommodating of dietary restrictions and happy to make recommendations. This was our first time dining here and we will definitely be back! We had such a great time!

Parlor is a three-level modern food hall located in the East Crossroads area of Kansas City. It features a variety of casual and creative dining options from seven different vendors, as well as two bars. The indoor-outdoor patio on the second floor boasts colorful murals and open windows with views of downtown.
Here’s a polished, poetic, and PACCEE-driven food review for your experience at The Parlor and The Peddler of Good Food — highlighting passion, accountability to taste, control over the vibe, confidence in the experience, energy in the food, and effort in the environment: ⸻ The Peddler of Good Food: Pedaling Flavor with Purpose The Parlor | Kansas City At The Parlor—where kitchens unite and cultures collide— we found a fresh trail: The Peddler of Good Food, led by Todd Barlow, a chef who blends cycling spirit with culinary art. Dishes that spoke: • The Frittata — well-crafted, flavorful, crowned with spring mix and tender asparagus. • The Veggie Panini — fresh, vibrant, and light on the stomach but heavy on satisfaction. Even with a bread change due to popular demand, the flavor still rolled strong. If I could dream a little: A touch of Todd’s pickled red onions from the panini would’ve made the frittata next level. (Not his model, but hey—just a Suggestion.) Environment: Relaxed. Comfortable. Great seating, Lakers vs. Timberwolves on the big screen, and the right kind of atmosphere to savor a meal before catching a flight back to Dallas. Ratings: • Food: 8.5/10 (fresh, thoughtful, flavorful) • Atmosphere: 9/10 (creative and chill) • Service: 8.5/10 (felt like family) • Creativity: 9/10 (unique concept tying cycling to cuisine) Final word: The Peddler has momentum. The Parlor is the perfect avenue for it to thrive. Already excited to see what’s new when we roll back through KC for Memorial Weekend. Coach Mike — signing off with full heart, full plate, and full gratitude. Food. Family. Fellowship. Flavor. Follow the journey!

My unit at work (about 30-40) met here for lunch before a company meeting. There is ample seating inside and outside. There are two floors with seating and food choices on each floor. There is a large variety in the types of foods. Some options are Mediterranean, Mexican, pizza, and burgers. There are also bars on both floors with many options. My coworkers seemed to be able to order their favorite drinks. I was very pleased that they could make me a mocktail with a blackberry syrup and tonic water. It was delicious! I looked at all the menus and there were several gluten free and dairy free options.

I went to the Parlor which is a food hall. I ate Mother Cluckers. The food was magnificent. The gentlemen cooking and serving we on point. I loved the atmosphere along with the food. I had their chicken strips but I will definitely go up on the level if I eat here again. Heat that is still flavorful. You can't beat it.

Staff coulda been a bit more coordinated in the front of the house. Took nearly 10 min after being seated to even get a wait staff member to even get us water let alone take our order. However the food was some of the best in town! Their steak is up there with steak houses like herford house but with real prices not over inflated like herford house. Mac could use more cheese and less milk in the rue but was decent.

We had our rehearsal/welcome party at Parlor and I am so thankful that we decided to have it there. The bartenders were great and our party really enjoyed the cafeteria style food options. Joni and Steve were wonderful to work with when reserving space for our group. I will never forget how they made my wedding week less stressful because of their flexibility and kindness.

I love all food halls but especially this one. There are bars on both the bottom and upper floors. Hours are nice so it doesn’t close until 9 which gives you a good amount of time. Always clean inside and easy to order from your phone or a menu. They have nachos, chicken, burgers, a taqueria, and Mediterranean food. Overall, just lots of good options. Perfect if you’re downtown and have picky eaters as it gives many options for everyone. I got the chicken at Mother Clucking and it was amazing. My friends got hamburgers and those were very good as well and had fast service all around.

If I ever find myself on death row(let's hope this doesn't happen) my last breakfast will be from Parlor Donuts. (Let's face it at that point calories won't count! Lol) So we ate here 3 out of 4 days of our trip. Don't think of it as a donut, but rather donut meets croissant = cronut!! They are like pastry works of art in your mouth! Prices are extremely reasonable and the staff is super helpful:) They even make donuts for your furry friends!!
