Walmart Supercenter offers a spacious and well-organized shopping experience, making it easy to navigate through its aisles. While the exterior may sometimes show signs of litter, the interior remains impressively clean and tidy. Shoppers can find a wide range of products, from groceries to health essentials like eye drops for ailments such as pink eye. The knowledgeable pharmacy staff are always ready to assist with recommendations and advice, ensuring you leave with exactly what you need.
i remember when you guys stayed open 24/7, the types of us that you would see at that hour... basically means that your spot was a safe places for us to feel good about spending our money. friendly staff. clean store. shelves stay fronted... awesome place overall. keep up the good work! not to mention all the workers yall employee Thank you

We had to pick up some eye drops for my daughter's pink eye. We weren't really sure what to get but the pharmacist gave us some very helpful information and made a recommendation. I appreciate him taking time to listen and help us.

Worst experience ever. The auto care side needs new management. Went in to get 3 new tires. Lady that was outside ran it on her WORK TABLET and was yea we have 5 in stock. Gave her my keys and was checked in at 9:50 am. At 10:53 I get a notification that my car is ready. I go to pay and to my suprise my car is not done. The lady at the front counter tells me they just realized their inventory is wrong and they don’t have my tires. I tell the lady, “ IT TOOK YA 1HR TO FIGURE OUT THAT YA DIDNT HAVE MY TIRES.” I asked for the manager, and his response was “all I can say is sorry.” And then replies “ I guess from now on I’ll have them check the inventory physically to make sure we have them.” WOW, I think that should be the first thing your employees should be doing. NEVER GOING TO THIS WALMART AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lopez J — Google review
Been there many times a few times I was told that I could NOT get bags to do scan & go ( corp says customers can also I haven’t had this problem with other locations ) anyway I try my best to order home delivery since then. Want to treat customers like criminals without just cause and 99 percent self checkout fine I’ll let y’all shop and deliver to me costing the location more money.
Willie P — Google review
Went in . And walked out. Slept check out was only open.. and that there was at least 38-45 people waiting I'm line for self check since .. no one was working at any check outs!! Just a couple at self check out ..even though there was plenty people in the store working and shopping.. I OBSERVED AN CAME TO THAT LAZYNESS OF SOME WORKERS AND MANAGEMENT. NOT ALL BUT SOME.
Joshua G — Google review
Shopping was good. Found all my items. Prices are high compared to HEB though! Wal Mart employees, Cashiers flip their nametag's to avoid being identified. I asked another employee why and he said, " to avoid being called down by management." WOW! This is nothing new as I have seen the same from American Airline staff at DFW.
Chuck F — Google review
Very clean organized Walmart on the inside. When you start walking on the perimeter of the parking lot and the building....it is a shame how big stores like walmart polute... and they are perfectly fine with the garbage around...maybe ignoring it ...maybe lliving on it like rats. Check out the wall by the neighboring subdivision. I just couldn't believe it.
Friml D — Google review
This is the worst wamart in Abilene. Today I went in and they finally had the garden center gates open. Went in did our shopping and sure enough no casher. Asked an associte that was in garden center if there was a cashier she said they were on break. We saw plenty of workers and even managment walking around we asked them and they said sorry it was closed didnt try and help in any way they just walked off. As managment you should be able to hop on a register and help with it being a service area. What happeded to taking care of the customer!? If I could have given a no star I would have.

Park
Redbud Park is a serene green space offering a peaceful retreat from the city, with walking trails, picnic tables, and a prairie dog preserve. The park features a splash pad, playground, pavilion with exercise equipment, and more. It's an all-encompassing park with hiking trails, workout stations, and plenty of space for various activities. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty while unwinding and reconnecting with the tranquility of the outdoors.
This is a very large park that has lots to do. There's a sidewalk going all around to use. A playground with some exercise equipment by it. A splash pad (#2 in the city). A prairie dog town. The YMCA on the north side of it.
Kyle R — Google review
Play grounds are clean. Grass always maintained. A safe park a d is wheelchair accessible in some areas. Quite a few things to do in the area. The outdoor gym is cool!
빜븓런숴일 — Google review
This is one of my favorite places in Abilene. The playground is a big hit with the kids. I always enjoy visiting the prairie dogs. If you haven’t had a chance to see them, I highly recommend it.
Brandon P — Google review
Great park to let the kids play. There is a nice big climbing area, and they even have a walking/biking/running walkway around the whole park. There is also a splash pad that looks like it's for the younger children. Not very big, but looks like a great time! We also saw some Prarie dogs! Will definitely visit this park again.
John N — Google review
Paved path measures 1.6 miles from the entry parking area around the full loop. Beware--no shade on 95% of it, so you will feel the sun the whole time. Nice peaceful park, plenty of people walking, walking dogs, playing at the playground. Prairie dogs love this park too!
Thomas B — Google review
Very nice park in Abilene with a big walking trail and it’s right next to the YMCA. I don’t recommend staying after sunset since it’s not well illuminated. Once a saw a big all white male group gathered/huddled for what looked like a meeting at this particular park. I honestly didn’t feel safe walking passed this all big white male group although I was accompanied by a friend who has been living in the immediate area of the park for several years. I can only hope that it was not a hater or neo supremacist group meeting. I truly hope that isn’t the case because it would a negative representation of not only of Red Bud park, but the surrounding neighborhoods to include the community, and city as a whole. It’s a nice day time walking park. I see ppl walking the big trail along the perimeter of the park with family, friends, and pets all the time. It would be great if they had better lighting during the dark hours. Love, Light, Peace, Blessings, Community No weapon formed against me shall prosper
Truth U — Google review
Just wanted somewhere I could take my dog for a nice walk. Even though it was in town, this was open space. I took her off-leash. Let her run as well as on leash walking around the periphery of the park. There were doggy bags with trash cans.
Kimberly R — Google review
I went there for a school field trip. This park was ok. There is some not so good things about this park. First of all the bathrooms had only 1 tiny toilet in it for the women's bathroom. It was a clean bathroom tho. There was i believe 4 swings, but 1 swing was out of commission... they need to fix that swing. The trash cans were missing the trash bags. Unless city of abilene said no to bags. It is understandable. Would I go back to this park for a family outing? No i would not. I do see they keep it clean. I like that about this park.

Water park
Adventure Cove is a thrilling water park located in the heart of the Big Country. It's a perfect spot for families and friends to enjoy some fun in the sun. The park offers various attractions, including a play water area for smaller children, a lazy river, and multiple pools. Visitors can also indulge in delicious snacks from the reasonably priced snack bar while enjoying their time at Adventure Cove.
Safe environment, lifeguards are very attentive, they have a kid area, lazy river, slides, they also provide life vest (limited, FCFS, free) great atmosphere. What I didn't like was the staff at the concession stand, they were rude, not friendly, and they messed up our order and wouldn't correct it. The food was a bit expensive so I expected better service and then they were out of everything. They had only been open for about 2 hours. Other than that we really enjoyed the place!
Joanna P — Google review
We took the kids here for a swim day before school started again. They had a blast! There’s a great spot for little kids, but there is also plenty for the bigger ones. The lazy river and slide are a huge hit. This is a great attraction for Abilene.
Brandon P — Google review
With the Texas heat, this is a great place to stay cool. Loved the lazy river the the tube slide. Very clean. Areas for all ages. We thought it was great. Pricing was very reasonable. We went 3 days in a row! We even enjoyed the snacks from the snack bar!
Beth K — Google review
How are yall going to have this sign at the entrance and then tell kids/parents after the lifeguards deny access to the slides that the sign at the front is not accurate. The sign clearly says “you must be this tall to ride”. If someone is that tall then you should let them ride or fix the dang sign. Thanks for making my daughter cry today…
Jason F — Google review
We brought my son for his birthday. He and my other boys had so much fun with the slides and numerous pools/ swimming places to go. Was very disappointed about not being able to bring a cooler with my waters and fruit ( I didn’t have much to spend at concession plus no healthy options!) I believe waters should be allowed in a cooler, and I think they should add some healthy foods ( think fruit, summer veggies with ranch, dye free options for popsicles, fruit salad, maybe trail mix, protein options that are NOT fried - I have fatty liver disease and am no longer any fried foods or ultra processed foods) and drink options - pure 100%juice no corn syrup or dye, Greek yogurt, frozen yogurt, smoothies etc … just a suggestion to adventure cove as this was my first visit and loved all but concession 😔
Beth P — Google review
Went to adventure cove today with my 1yr old & she had a blast! There’s a lot of kid friendly things to do. The pool goes from 1ft to 4 ft. Which is perfect for little kids. They also have a lazy river that is 3ft so not deep, but the jets are strong. The lounge chairs & umbrellas are first come first serve. Overall great place to take the family to enjoy the water & the sun.
Emily G — Google review
Hey there! Y'all, this is a great spot to beat the heat! There is something for everyone. There is a play water area/pool for smaller children, a lazy river, and within in the lazy river is another pool. We arrived about 15 minutes before opening at 1 pm. We were the 3rd family in line within 5 minutes, there were about 30 people behind us. Benefits to being the early you are able to find shaded pool chairs under the big umbrellas and a tube for the lazy river ( there are about 7 in the whole park). We paid $15 for an adult and child (over 48 inches) to enter (not bad). There is a very nice snack bar with plenty to choose from, and it is reasonably priced. The sign states no outside food or drinks;however, I did see a couple of people roll a small ice chest in. I'm not sure how strict that rule is. The green slide was down, but the other 2 slides were in working condition. We had a great time and I would highly recommend it.
Jenn — Google review
Abilene's only waterpark. We would love to see an expansion soon here! There is a large pool with beach entry, also 3 slides and a lazy river. There is seating but fills up quickly. They offer concessions but not any healthy options available.

The Grace Museum, located in a former hotel built in 1909, offers a diverse experience for art enthusiasts, history lovers, and families. With five galleries and a four-story space, the museum showcases a robust permanent collection featuring works by renowned artists such as James Surls and Andy Warhol. Visitors can also explore special exhibits like the Tools for Modern Living show and enjoy an interactive kids area. Additionally, the museum hosts programs, art classes, and special events for both adults and children.
We recently got married at the Grace and it was the best experience ever! The staff was so so sweet and so helping! The prices??? Can’t beat them! I definitely will recommend them forever for ANY event!

I didn't tour the 2nd floor, only the 1st and 3rd. The Grace Coffee Shop is no longer open and is now an Event Center that happened to be in use when I was there. The tour of the 3rd floor was full of memorabilia from the early to mid 1900s. Beautifully displayed antiques and room settings.

The history of Abilene is fun to learn about. If it wasn’t for the train the city wouldn’t be here! To learn about the Grace Hotel is fun to learn about too!
Irene E — Google review
What a beautiful museum! Small, but I love being able to see inside the old hotel. There are art galleries on the first two floors, a super fun kid's space on the second floor, and more local history on the third. I really enjoyed it and learning more about Abilene! The original train station is right across the street and several of the storybook character statues are in the immediate area. There is dedicated parking for the museum, "behind" the hotel (opposite from the front corner entrance), both covered and uncovered. I found plenty of street parking as well right on the corner. There's a coffee shop and restaurant nearby that looked like they were serving at 10 am.

We recently attended a wedding at The Grace Museum and it was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how beautifully the historic building blended classic charm with modern elegance. The stunning architecture, art-filled walls, and warm lighting created the perfect romantic atmosphere — every corner felt like a photo opportunity! The staff at The Grace were incredibly professional and attentive. Everything ran so smoothly, from the ceremony setup to the reception. You could tell the team truly cared about making the evening special for everyone — guests and couple alike. The museum’s layout worked perfectly for the event: the ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, the cocktail hour flowed seamlessly, and the reception space was both spacious and cozy. It was such a unique and elegant venue that captured the spirit of West Texas in such a timeless way.

Stopped in Abilene for a few hours and popped into this little museum. It’s a combination of art, kid’s stuff, and history. The building was originally built to be a hotel, and the third floor has some history about it. The lady working the front desk was super nice and informative. She explained the layout of the museum since it was my first visit. I also asked for recommendations for the city, and she was very helpful with things to see and eat.

Our family of seven visited The Grace in the morning. Our five children had an amazing time discovering all the kinds of art they could make in the play zone. The VW Bug was a huge hit for our three-year-old. Our seven-year-old loved the stage area and the Astronaut costumes. Our eight-year-old was amazed by the touchscreen draw creator. And our five-year-old and six-year-old loved the play centers. The art installations on communication and the arts were beautifully displayed and the children found them most interesting. The period rooms and the hotel room would have looked like at The Grace for was very interesting and was loved and cared for. I enjoyed the dresses and many types of hand fans. We could not have been more entertained by this outing. It was also a great place to be out of the hot sun.
Edgar C — Google review
Staff is so friendly and helpful! Thomas answered so many questions I had about local culture and stuff. The art and history exhibits were engaging and so enjoyable! A definite must see if you're in the area and the exhibits change monthly so even locals can visit and have new experiences!

Vagabond Pizza is a beloved neighborhood spot in Abilene, known for its creative pizzas and selection of craft beer and wine. The menu features classic options like Margherita pizza alongside unique creations such as the Heidi with ground bratwurst and caramelized onion, or the Lucia topped with spicy salami and jalapeno jelly.
The whole staff is incredibly sweet and informative. Service was prompt and served us our Salad & Pizza SO FAST. The Vagabond Salad was perfectly balanced with veggies and dressing and the pizza is INSANELY GOOD. I can highly recommend the Sofia and Lucia pizzas. The absolutely BEST pizza crust is have ever eaten.

In from out of town and last night was my first time in and we had an amazing time. The food was absolutely delicious, we sat at the bar and the service was superb. The wine suggestion was spot on even had to get a bottle togo. The Camila pizza was so well balanced in flavor the crust was light and made in house. The Dubai chocolate dessert was jaw dropping definitely the chefs kiss.

We absolutely love this place. We live North of Houston but come to Abilene for work pretty frequently. We have to keep finding ways to get back here so we can go to Vagabond Pizza. If you haven't tried the bread with the salted butter, get it. We've loved every pizza we've tried as well. It's so cool how they're always working on new recipes too, so there's always something new and exciting to try here. What a spectacular business!

Vagabond gets a lot of things right. The pizza is great, the atmosphere is perfect, and the service has been impeccable. This is where we go when we want "fancy" pizza.
Aron L — Google review
The best restaurant in Abilene. Send a scout to put your name down, because there may be a substantial wait. But, once inside the staff in attentive. The menu rotates weekly so it's always offering something new. Our kids ask to come here every time we are in from DFW. As a foodie, I absolutely agree. The Vagabond Salad is my favorite house salad. It has so many layered flavors on it. Our family LOVES the bread and butter, meatballs, Lucia and Margarita. The bartender poured a delicious Red Blend red that included my fav, Barbera. Tonight we get also got the Tiramisu; spectacular.

A Hidden Gem Worth Every Bite A friend and I popped into Vagabond Pizza for a quick lunch while waiting for our appointment around the corner at Ink Therapy Abilene—and I am so glad we did. The service was phenomenal from the moment we walked in, warm and welcoming without feeling rushed. Tucked perfectly in downtown Abilene, this place is a hidden gem serving up some of the best wood-fired pizza I’ve ever had in Texas. Seriously. I ordered the Margherita, and it was absolute perfection—fresh ingredients, vibrant flavor, and a crust that was chewy in the best way possible. You can taste the care that goes into every bite. I texted my husband before I even finished eating to let him know we will be back for date night. (See attached picture that I sent him mid bite) If you’re in Abilene and love pizza (or just have taste buds), Vagabond needs to be on your must-visit list.

My wife and I, along with our family have frequently come to Vagabond over the last 5 years since we’ve lived in Abilene and it is definitely my favorite restaurant in Abilene! I’ve had many birthdays and special occasion lunches and dinners here and it has never disappointed even once! From the amazing and friendly customer service to the exceptional food taste and quality, I not only recommend it to anyone who reads this, but I also recommend it to all of my friends and family on a regular basis.

Breakfast restaurant
IHOP is a well-established eatery that offers an extensive range of pancakes and other classic American breakfast and diner dishes. Customers can indulge in a variety of delectable options, including the popular Colorado omelet with its crispy steak filling, as well as wonderfully crisp pancakes. The attentive waitstaff impresses with their exceptional service, displaying attentiveness, efficiency, pleasantness, and enthusiasm.
Our family came to have breakfast today after receiving some bad news. Our server, Dani, noticed the kids were sad on Halloween and she was so kind and friendly in an attempt to cheer them up. I spoke to her privately and let her know what was going on and she and the entire team responded with overwhelming kindness. They all continued to do their jobs well and we received exceptional service and the food was great, too. But the ways they cared for our family was a great reminder that so many times, employees go above and beyond their typical duties to make a difficult day a little bit easier. We will be back again and again for no other reason than that Dani and the entire staff know how to treat people well.
Mandi M — Google review
I had 2 awesome waitresses however, I did order three of the $6 specials and they were brought out to me with little wait plus my waitresses were both not only friendly but good people. However when I order these meals the first bite I take is always of the hot fresh bacon which happened to be cold on both of the two plates with bacon plus the sausage was cold. And the French toast wasn't even warm. As amazing as the service may have been; the quality of the food that I drove acrosstown to enjoy was not there today at this IHOP in Abilene Texas.
George W — Google review
My family and I came in today at 9:15. We ordered quickly after arriving. They were busy but we waited an hour for our food. Received our food and my eggs were raw. Had them remade. Came back 3 minutes later and they were still raw. Spoke to the manager and she said instead of ordering them over easy I needed to order over medium and I was confusing her cooks. I’ve been in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. Always order them over easy. The egg whites were completely raw. Told her I didn’t want any more. Decided to eat the French toast and there was a mangled hair about half way underneath them. We will not be going back any time soon.

While IHOP isn't my first choice (let's face it. I'm from the south. It's ALWAYS waffle house lol), the experience, the food, and the service was phenomenal here. Their waitresses are very kind and friendly. They were always busy, cleaning up, taking orders, offering refills, as well as keeping the entire establishment clean. Everyone was SUPER friendly!! This place is doing AMAZING in customer service!
Dany D — Google review
Our waitress was super sweet, and apologetic about the wait, but it was not busy and it took over 40 minutes for our small order to come out. During those 40 minutes, I watched all the plates going out to customers get stacked on top of one another like this video... Granted, I know we chose IHOP to eat at, I'm not demanding a Michelin star level of quality, but.. Please stop doing this as a work flow. I have many videos of many different orders sitting like this, I'll only post this one since the workers faces are in the others. Please do better, IHOP. (And yep, we still ate our food.)
Elizabeth P — Google review
We had a great waitress, and she kept on checking in on us. We'll be back for sure!

Visited today, hadn’t been there in over 3 years and service still sucks. Waited for over 45 minutes to be seated and ended up leaving after they seated a table of 5 that came in after us. We were a table of 6. Will not be going back. If I could give less than one star I would

The Beehive Restaurant is a renowned dining destination in Abilene, Texas, known for its aged Angus beef steaks and seafood. With an upscale setting featuring Old West flair, it offers a menu filled with rich marbled steaks, generous seafood portions, hearty sandwiches, and appetizers that could easily pass for entrees. The restaurant has received accolades from publications like Texas Monthly and Southern Living for its exceptional cuisine.
I had the Chicken Cesar salad and it was delicious. The chicken was moist and seasoned well. The steak was excellent and cooked perfectly. The chocolate cake was yum and we devoured it. Our server, Preston, was attentive and gave us honest feedback to our questions. The Long Island Ice Tea was very good and definitely recommend you trying it.

Wow!!! What a gem! This place is an absolute must-visit. The filet was one of the best I've ever had. Prepared simply, nothing crazy but handled, treated, prepared, and cooked well. Every bite was tender, delicious, and had that melt-in-your-mouth struggle that's so craved. The crust was perfect from a proper sear, and it was cooked correctly to my doneness (medium rare) from end to end. What an absolute treat! The service was top notch as well... We were greeted mere moments after being seated. Drinks never ran dry, recommendations were spot on, the wait staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and informative. They also had multiple team members stopping by to help out - the mark of a fine dining establishment. The atmosphere really worked well too. Nothing overstated, but clean, traditional, and playing to the history of the saloon. While at the same time classy. I can't say enough about how wonderful Beehive Restaurant is - if you've already been then you know, but if you haven't then you've gotta go!

This has been my go to restaurant for years and I’ve always recommended it to others for steak. I moved to FL 16 months ago and came back for a visit. I splurged on the $51 ribeye steak for lunch (my fav). The steak I bought was cooked just right (med). However, the steak was flavorless and chewy. I had a sneaking suspicion it wasn’t a ribeye at all but a NY strip. Either way it was one of the least enjoyable steak I’ve had in a restaurant in years. It was busy and had an appointment to go to so ate it for my dose of protein. Whether you call it a ribeye or NY strip, it was a regrettable choice yesterday. Left my favorite restaurant very disappointed.

Nice spot for a date night or family dinner. Not a large menu short and sweet with special off the menu items. Service was friendly, our server kept close and served with a smile. My wife's steak was a little less than medium as she had liked, it was more red than pink but it still tasted great, especially with the delicious crab ontop. I had the special which was Mahi Mahi with capers over rice and black beans with slices of Avocado, at first bite I was listening for the ocean because it really brought me back to the Islands. The soup of the day was a steak n rice soup IKR, but it was tasty filled with flavor. Perfect spot for a quiet dinner, tonnes of flavor. If you're going for dinner you can park across the street in the bank's parking lot but dont do it for lunch.

Top restaurant in Abilene. Tablecloths restaurant with generous servings that are consistently outstanding! Get there early and have everyone in your party present to get seated. Worth the wait! Easily spend way more than $20 per plate but well worth it. And they have some items that are budget friendly. I got the special, house salad, unsweet tea and got away for $20 plus tip.

My wife and I recently visited The Beehive after hearing mixed reviews, and unfortunately, my experience leaned more toward the disappointing side. From the start, the service left much to be desired. Our server seemed distracted and took quite a while to take our order, despite the bar top being only half full. Drink refills were inconsistent, and we had to ask twice for basic things like utensils and napkins. While the staff wasn’t outright rude, there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness and warmth that made the meal feel rushed and impersonal. The food itself didn’t do much to redeem the evening. Our ribeye came out dry and over-seasoned, and the accompanying sides were cold and overcooked. For the price point, we expected something fresher and more thoughtfully prepared. On the positive side, the ambiance was pleasant enough — dim lighting and comfortable seating made for a nice setting. But unfortunately, the atmosphere couldn’t make up for the underwhelming meal and lackluster service.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere and amazing food. The prim rib was incredible and the Long Island Ice Tea were so darn good
James D — Google review
The atmosphere here is nice. Food selection is very minimal. I had the Beef Oscar which in my opinion needs work. The sauce didn't quite bring the dish together with the crab meat. The crab meat had a very fishy taste like it was served out of a can. Not saying that it was yet very possible. As I said the dish needs work in my opinion. The filet was cooked properly to order. As for the sides, the baked potato was very dry & $6 asparagus side taste like burnt celery. All in all if you are a local I'd say try different dishes to suit your pallet. All in all this place is nice & service is top notch.

We stopped here to have a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated quickly, and got our drinks and rolls quickly as well. I chose to order a steak and my girlfriend ordered a hamburger. Both meals were excellent! My girlfriend that the hamburger was wonderful. I wish we hadn't been seated next to the bar. There were a few patrons that we standing rather close to our table.

I've had great service at logans in other towns. I came in and got seated in the bar area, not biggie, not a drinker. Looked over the menu. Watched the bartender flirt with her boyfriend or husband for over 15 minutes, and it was not a busy time or a "RUSH HR" and when I get up to walk i make it 10ft from the door and she's [Oh I'm sorry I was on my way right now.] Not thank you

This is what we got for 23 dollars. The ribs were tough and such a small portion. First time and LAST time we will be back. This was father's day. I also told the waitress how we weren't happy with our service. She made the comment " well, you ate it", then pursued to take my money and check us out. I have never been so unhappy with anywhere we have been to eat. This probably explains why we were the only ones there eating.

Visited Logans for lunch with our grandchildren. We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. We didn't get any peanuts, not sure if they offer anymore. However, the atmosphere changed with the waitress. She brought us our rolls with no plates. After asking for some, she brought us 3 plates for our party of 4. She made no effort to be friendly. Not a smile nor a "you're welcome" after thanking her continually during our visit. To start off? They were out of Raspberry Tea, so I had to settle for Peach tea. I didn't care much for it; so my husband drank it. I just drank water. The children's drinks were served with lids. Perfect! The popcorn shrimp and fries off the childrens menu was the perfect size for my 5 yr. old granddaughter. She ate all her shrimp. The burger my other granddaughter ordered looked delicious. Eating only half because it was big for her. My husband and I ordered the country chicken fried steak. Side fries for him, a baked potatoe for me. We both ordered a salad. It was crisp and delicious. However, when our meal came out, I could not believe the size of our chicken fried steak. It looked like something off the childrens menu. Such a disappointment. Well, the waitress eventually said you're welcome and even managed to give a small smile. Not sure if we will return. It was pricey for such a small meal and unfriendly service.

It has been a while since we last visited. The NEW, Gumbo, not spicy well seasoned, finished the bowl. Chicken Fried Steak, reasonably portioned, flavored, and priced. Steak salad, no complaints, and just as if I had been there yesterday. COLD beverages! Plenty of TVs!!

Zero. Zero stars. I ordered to-go online and scheduled pick up at 8:30. Arrived on time and stood in the middle of the room. I'm just over 6 feet so I'm hard to miss. I saw at least 4 wait staff walk RIGHT past me and didn't even acknowledge my existence. Glad I chose the option to pay at the restaurant, so I just walked out. Logan's earned these low ratings.

Mac N Cheese tasted like left overs from the day before, noodles way over cooked, or was left over. Had the steak alfredo, steak was ordered medium rare, came well done. She did offer to bring out different steak but i was already full at that point. Absolutely no smoke flavor in the steak, which seems to be their claim to fame. I would not eat here again. Bartender was nice, always had a full drink.

Waited 1.5 hours when I was told it would be 30 minutes. staff was rude when we asked how much longer I was told that 4 tops are normal and our group was not. Also the rude kid at the front told put gloves on and touch his face, hair, ear, and a pen he had in his mouth only to go back to handle food without washing hand 😝. No thanks you lost my business 😒. We left wont be bad.

Day 2

East side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the east side side of town. Start the day off with Abilene Zoo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Cypress Street Station. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Zoo
Nestled within the scenic Grover Nelson Park in east Abilene, the Abilene Zoo offers an immersive experience with over 1,000 animals representing more than 250 species. The zoo spans 16 acres and is set to expand by an additional 24 acres.
We always enjoy going to the Abilene Zoo. It's not very large but it is nicely laid out and a comfortable walk. Kids enjoyed the Autumn/Halloween event. This event is popular and the zoo is much busier than usual during this annual event. Plenty of parking, much of it updated.
Eberhard B — Google review
We've been visiting the Abilene Zoo for over 13 years now, and it’s always a family favorite. All three of my kids have grown up loving this place—there’s always something new and exciting to see with each visit. The staff is one of the highlights of the zoo experience. They're friendly, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the animals they care for. Whether it’s during a fun educational show for the little ones or just answering questions while you stroll by, they clearly love what they do. The zoo itself isn’t massive, which is actually a plus in my book. You can easily see everything without feeling exhausted by the end of your visit. It’s the perfect size for families with younger kids, and still entertaining for adults too. They are currently expanding, so the zoo will soon be growing—but even now, it’s a wonderful and charming place to spend the day. If you haven’t been to the Abilene Zoo yet, I highly recommend stopping by. You won’t be disappointed!

This zoo is a gem. Their exhibits are top notch. It’s not too long of walk to see everything, and each exhibit is well taken care of. And the giraffe feeding is one of the best zoo experiences someone can have.

Maybe it's because we had the entire zoo basically to ourselves because we were there on an off day, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The facility is beautiful, they have a great variety of animals, and they have great themes.

My granddaughter and I, had a great time. Not very expensive. Lots of critters. We went during Halloween time. Decorated cool Definitely, will go back often! You can feed some animals. There is also, a giant sand pit for the kids. That's when, I rested. I had brought my umbrella for the sun. Didn't really need it. Lots of trees with shade. The monarch butterflies were everywhere, too!

Throughout the year, there are exciting activities at venues like the Expo Center and downtown.
Absolutely LOVE THE WEST TEXAS FAIR AND RODEO time of year! This year had my favorite thing… FOOD! Lots of food choices this year. The carnival staff were much friendlier than years past. Vendors had a lot of custom merchandise and I spent waaay too much out here, but it was all in good fun!

Fun rides. Sometimes the ride conducters are nice and sometimes they aren't 🤷‍♀️. Plenty of food and places to eat. My 3 year old and 2 yr old had Plenty of rides to ride without and with us. Cypress Street Station is a popular hangout spot located in a historic Downtown building in Abilene, TX. It offers upscale dining with a comfortable ambiance and features fireplaces for colder days. The well-stocked bar serves local brews on tap, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The menu includes classic American comfort food such as burgers, sandwiches, fried green tomatoes, and Caesar salad. Additionally, they offer an extensive selection of craft beers, cocktails, and wines.
We came here for lunch on a Friday and were seated immediately. We ordered the sweet chili calamari as an appetizer - the sauce was great! But the calamari was rather thick for our preference, closer to the size of a fish stick. I ordered the stuffed avocado as my main and it was fantastic! I would definitely order it again. Very tasty.

This has been on my list of must tries in town and they didnt disappoint. You feel welcomed the moment you enter, the cozy atmosphere takes you away. The food was absolutely delicious, the flavors were on point creating a nice flavor party on your pallete. Truly devine one of the best flavors in Abilene. My wife had the bacon wrapped quail with honey sauce, and I had the crusted veal which was tender and loaded with juicy flavors, actually still tasting it 🤣. My Entre was off the regular menu so it might not be there when you go, just ask your server. Everyone in town seems to do calamari but theirs is different its not deep fried and hard crusted but seeming lightly fried and served in a sweet chillie sauce absolutely devine. Our server was amazing, she made great suggestions, and kept checking on us. The floor manager was also amazing she actually brought our entrees which is not something you see very often. Great atmosphere, great service and awesome flavors will definitely be back. Side note if there is still construction ongoing on the street, park behind the grace buulding and walk around to the front. Definitely give them a try.

We wanted to try this out while we were in town and my goodness we were blown away! Trey gave the best service I’ve ever had in any restaurant and that includes some of the finest dining restaurants in Texas! We recommend the Farmhouse Pasta and Bayou Chicken Pasta which was perfectly cooked. The flavors of the dishes came together so well that we could help but leave a great review! The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere has a high end but old town feel. Please come give this place a shot if you are in town.

Great waiter and waitress! The potatoes were most flavorful part of the meal and really tasty. The lack of seasoning on the NY strip leaves a lot to be desired. It was, however, cooked to a perfect medium rare as requested and the quality of the beef seemed fairly high. From this limited experience, I cannot recommend a steak for dinner.

Our waitress was so nice! The meat they serve is so tender that we probably wouldn’t have needed a steak knife to cut it. Great atmosphere, and the chefs made our food quickly! Everyone should definitely go here when in Abilene!

Katie was an absolutely great Waitress, she was very kind and did not bother us every second. She kept a smile on her face throughout the experience. The food was fantastic, I had the New York Strip Med Rare and it melted in my mouth. The best Anniversary Dinner I have had yet.

We always enjoy our trip to Cypress Street. As we find our way to our table, the art and decor is enjoyable on the vintage walls of the antique building. I am so impressed with the specialty drink menu, that I can never decide but I have enjoyed all of the ones I tried. We often choose the special because it's always something we never see on any other menu. Some of our favorites is their fish dishes. We usually start off with the calimari appetizer because it is amazing! The staff is the most friendly that you'll find in Texas.

Monks Coffee Shop, established in 2006, has become a beloved spot in downtown Abilene. The charming storefront leads to a cozy interior with art-adorned walls and a collection of books by the fireplace. It's known for its thoughtfully crafted coffee beverages and scrumptious pastries. The shop is spacious and inviting, featuring comfy sofas, scattered tables, and mismatched chairs. Local artists' work decorates the walls, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.
An amazing place. I really liked this place. Upon arrival, the atmosphere was very calm, very clean, and well-decorated. There were people of all ages, from children to seniors, enjoying themselves with their families. There were also students with their computers and some young people who went to hang out. The place has good music, and one of the few I've been to that featured Arctic Monkeys, so if you like the band, this is a good place. When I ordered coffee, the employees were very friendly and patient. The wait time wasn't long, and the coffee was quite delicious. What a quaint artsy coffee shop which has a lot of personality, friendly service, wonderful ambience and of course, great coffee. It's in the heart of downtown so it's a wonderful place to go and hang out but then walk around to enjoy the downtown charm of Abilene. In addition to having great coffee, they also have delicious smoothies and unique and wonderful selections of tea. I love the decor with great art from local artists and has a relaxing vibe to the place that makes you want to just hang out with friends and family and enjoy your time together. Lytle Land & Cattle Company is a rustic chophouse in Abilene, known for its mesquite-fired steaks and seafood. Great food. The sauteed mushrooms were really great. The chicken fried steak was huge! We never did get bread, but I saw other tables get some. It was Saturday night at 6, and busy, so I get it. That also accounted for 3 other folks getting served at the bar who came in after us. I had the salmon which was good, but a bit overcooked. The fried okra was good too. Chicken fried steak was fork-tender - delicious! Mixed review, I know.

Was told by a customer service agent at the airport to check out Lytle. I was impressed upon walking in with the size and decorations. However, a lot of that ended when I sat at the bar, which was virtually empty, and received very lackluster service. I could understand if the bar and restaurant were busy, but they were not. After a lot of reflection after leaving I realized that I was ignored many times by the staff. I wasn't even asked if I wanted water, bread (which was complimentary, and after asking for it was super dry), or a bag for my leftovers. After receiving the smallest steak on earth (which was a 4 oz filet mignon for $28?!), and two sets of green beans which were salty, I had to hurry to the airport. While waiting for my food I had to swat off several flies from dropping in my old fashioned, which was actually decent. However, I would not return for a juicy steak due to the service. I hope this improves in the future.

This is a good, healthy meal. Service is slow, so not the place if you're in a hurry. Chicken was a bit dry, but the vinaigrette dressing fixed that. Good salsa has a bit of sweetness to it.

My husband and went on a Saturday night at 8pm. I think we missed the crazy dinner rush, but it was still busy. This place is pricey but I can honestly say, 💯 worth the money. I am not sorry we splurged for a date night. The Abilenian steak was AMAZING. We ordered it medium. I was worried it would be slightly too done, but it was perfect. The loaded mashed potatoes were super tasty. The wedge salad was delicious. We ordered jalapeño poppers and they were average. The chips and queso were really just chips and melted Velveeta. The green beans were average. The drinks from the bar were outstanding. We didn’t get bread 🤷🏻‍♀️ I saw other tables get it but we didn’t. Our waitress ran her tail off the whole time we were there. So 2 appetizers and one entree with the added wedge salad was plenty for my husband and I to share. We’ll definitely be back!

Went with a large group and the sever did a great job with the large group. I had the ribeye steak tips, loaded baked potato, and salad. Their bread great, soft and warm with a great taste. My steak tips were so juicy and had great flavor.

Came here just before 5pm dinner rush. What an amazing steakhouse. The staff are respectful and knowledgeable about their cuisine. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the ambience is on point for a serious steakhouse with many remnants of old Texas. I had the quail legs as an appetizer and my main was the Abilinean steak, cooked medium rare with grilled mushrooms and a loaded baked potato. Outstanding place to splurge on quality and I would highly recommend.

Steak house
Nestled on the southeastern edge of Abilene, Copper Creek Restaurant is a delightful destination for those seeking an upscale dining experience infused with Texas charm. Since its inception in 2005, this gem has been captivating food enthusiasts with its exquisite selection of steaks and seafood, all served in a beautifully rustic yet elegant setting.
We had a fantastic dinner at Copper Creek! The sirloin was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the creamy mashed potatoes and flavorful jalapeño cheddar grits. The ribeye was juicy and tender, and the mac and cheese was rich and comforting. We started with the calamari appetizer—crispy, fresh, and just the right amount of spice. Great food, great atmosphere, and attentive service. Definitely a go-to spot in Abilene!

My oldest son drove over to Abilene to help me work the reptile expo his weekend and for coming to help I told him I'd take him to get a good steak dinner. We chose the right place, had a fantastic meal, started with the Calamari and Cactus which was really good but the steak was one of the best I've ever had anywere. Then he got a chocolate cake dessert and took a Tiramisu back home for my wife who couldn't come this trip. We will be returning soon.

| Food | 5 stars - The complimentary warm, crusty bread and creamy butter was a great start to our meal. 5 stars - The Goat Cheese Jalapeño Poppers are absolutely irresistible — stuffed with rich, creamy goat cheese, crispy bacon crumbles, and just the right kick of jalapeño. Drizzled with a silky avocado ranch dressing and topped with fresh chives, they strike the perfect balance of heat, tang, and indulgence. 5 stars - The Carbonara pasta is comfort on a plate. Tossed in a velvety sauce with just the right amount of richness. Topped with crispy, golden fried chicken that's perfectly tender inside, each bite is satisfying. 4 stars - The grilled Caesar salad was nearly spot-on — the charred romaine added a wonderful smoky depth, perfectly paired with classic Caesar dressing and generous shavings of Parmesan. The only thing missing are some anchovies on top. | Drinks | We all enjoyed the Spicy Pineappletini cocktail, so much so, we each had a couple! It was perfectly blended with subtle spice and a nice hint of sweet pineapple flavor. You can tell they use fresh lime juice. Perfection with the tajin rim. | Atmosphere | I loved the "vintage Texas" decor and atmosphere. The main dining room is gorgeous with massive furniture, wrought iron lighting fixtures, floral arrangements, and elaborate taxidermy on the walls. Pro Tip: the golden "taxidermy" figures in the hallway against the dynamic wallpaper makes for a great photo backdrop. | Service | Our server, Courtney, is all heart, all hospitality—and straight outta Texas. Seriously, she is one of the best servers I've ever experienced. She provided flawless and efficient service. We never wanted for anything - our water glasses were magically filled we needed, plates promptly taken away when finished, and somehow she appeared with perfect timing for us to order more cocktails. She knew the menu very well and made excellent suggestions. It's like she could read our minds at times, for example with splitting the check she knew exactly how to handle it for our party.

Great experience! The food was excellent, we had salmon, the grilled Caesar salad, and the Philly cheesesteak soup... It was all delicious and fresh. The service was great too - the gentleman was friendly, and knowledgeable with regard to the menu. He struck that good balance between not leaving us alone too much but also not bothering us. The atmosphere is really great as well. The decor is classy and tasteful. It felt clean and inviting. Would definitely go back! Only slight negative is the prices are a little high for what you get... But overall, it's worth trying!

A lovely sit-down dining experience! A good price for high quality dishes. They know how to cook their steak perfectly. I cannot recommend enough the fried goat cheese salad. Absolutely insane flavors!

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here. They went above and beyond- our table was decorated, they gave us a card, and provided us with complimentary champagne! We had the spinach/artichoke dip which, for us, was the star of the show! Overall, the experience was fantastic and we had an amazing time! :)

I ordered to go. A wedge salad with Steak & a cup of lobster bisque. The food was really good, just a little inexperience from the person taking my order and the one delivering it to me. My lobster bisque was really yummy. Big chunks of lobster claw meat. I was a bit surprised how spicy it was and that there were chunks of green pepper. Not bad, just unusual to be spicy and have green pepper. Just a caution to anyone sensitive to spicy, has a stomach ulcer, etc. The wedge salad threw them off a lot when I added steak. It was packaged really oddly, had sundried tomatoes instead of fresh tomatoes, and no blue cheese crumbles. I was staying at a hotel, so packaging in this tiny container made it difficult to eat. They also attempted to charge me for 2 salads. A tenderloin salad and a wedge salad. Instead of just adding on the steak to the wedge or just swapping the type of lettuce on the tenderloin salad. It took two trips out to my truck to resolve the pricing issue. The girl taking my order didn't know what bisque was and then I realized when she repeated my order that she pronounces it, "biskay". Lol no biggie, just a training issue, easily fixed. Overall, I would order again, but maybe be a bit more specific so I get a true wedge salad with fresh tomatoes & blue cheese.
