Opus 40 is a magical place. Give yourself plenty of time to really absorb it and definitely get the tour. John grew up there and knew the artist and is a wealth of information on the history of the place and of the arts culture in Woodstock. He also knows a ton about the geology. Much to learn.

What an amazing place. I came here as a kid and just went back. 40 years later it’s just as impressive and beautiful. Friendly staff too. I wished we brought a picnic!

What a Grand magical place. Very fortunate to be able to visit and explore art. To imagine one’s obsession to creat this. $16 for adults and $6 for kids under 6 years old. Portapotties are available and gift shop. Parking available on the premises with a short walk for admissions.

Was passing through the Hudson Valley after a roadtrip to see family in Maine. I was fortunate to time the visit with the fall foliage in full swing. The site sits about 5 miles off 87 and is well paved and marked. The parking was abundant and a short walk to the admissions booth. Spectacular views of the monumental landscape architecture highlighted by the fall foliage. Well worth a visit!

This was cool! It’s kind of just one thing and you get the idea pretty quickly, but definitely worth a stop through! Signage is wild.

All I can say is, “Wow”!!! You have to go there to really have an appreciation of this amazing masterpiece. Pictures don’t do it justice. I can’t believe one man built all of this without machinery - just talent and tools. I’m so grateful to his wife for sharing it with the world. It would have been a tragedy for us to not have been able to witness it. You must go see it.

Fascinating place to tour on a sunny day. Check out the video about the artist who created Opus 40. Combine it with lunch in Saugerties and a visit to Krause’s chocolate store and you have created a banner day!

Incredible tour experience! Spent a good two and half hours with John Cederquist, who provided us with an in-depth knowledge in the process of building this award winning opus sculpture, and skill involved in its creation by Harvey Fite.

This is such a lovely sanctuary for farm animals. The tours are very informative. The animals are well taken care of and loved. Everyone who works there cares so much. CAS is worth the visit. If you can’t make it in person I’d say they’re also worth a donation.
C L — Google review
I had the pleasure of visiting CAS this past weekend and it was an amazing experience. The grounds were peaceful, and the animals were calm and could tell they are so loved. Our tour guide, Alison, was fantastic—she shared detailed stories about the animals’ we met, as well as thoughtful context about the farming industry. What impressed me most was how passionate and caring the entire team is. Their love for the animals shines through in the sanctuary’s atmosphere—healthy, relaxed animals who greet visitors without fear. Even the few sheep in quarantine seemed at ease and well cared for. I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area. It’s educational, heartwarming, and inspiring.

What a joy it was to visit the sanctuary! The love is contagious, the animals are adorable, and everybody there was very kind. We visited and booked our spots on a tour on what turned out to be a rainy day, and it made the whole experience even more special. Megan, our guide, was very knowledgeable and fun. I am eager to visit again! I highly recommend Catskill Animal Sanctuary if you're visiting or passing through the area, kids would enjoy it too. The tours are educational, entertaining, respectful of the well-being of the animals, and mindful of the safety of the guests. I'm grateful for this place!

What an amazing experience it was to visit CAS!! These residents have truly hit the jackpot and are living their very best lives here. A 36-year old horse had trouble getting up after rolling in the dirt while we were visiting. Our tour guide made a call and a team was there within less than a minute to help. This sanctuary is so so wonderful and our tour guide, Camryn, was awesome!! I finally got to hug cows!! 🐮 💕 It was an experience I won’t forget. Definitely follow, donate and visit if you can!

This was our 2nd trip with our daughter (who was just turning 4 and is now 6.5) to Catskill Animal Sanctuary. It was our 2 year old son’s first visit. Our daughter has remembered and talked about Jasmine since Oct 2022, the most wonderful pig you ever did meet, and our son squealed with excitement each time an “underfoot animal” passed by. Megan led our group tour and did a wonderful job, keeping both kids and adults engaged while educating us along the way about the individual animals we met, the mission of the sanctuary, enlightening us as to unfortunate truths we turn a blind eye to and small things we can do to help bring about change. It is a beautiful property providing food, shelter, healthcare and love to all the animals they can take in. It is such a special and personal experience for kids and adults alike, definitely worth the trip!
Alex S — Google review
We went to the sanctuary on a rainy and snowy day. The weather was truly awful, but also made the experience memorable. Our tour guide is full of compassion for the animals and really knows the residents inside and out. The tour itself doesn’t feel rush. The facility is well kept and cute. All the profits will go towards the supporting the sanctuary and the farm animals that are raised there. ❤️🥹 highly recommend

Nestled just down the road, Krause's Chocolates is a delightful haven for chocolate lovers and has earned accolades as one of Hudson Valley's top candy stores. This charming, family-owned shop boasts an impressive selection of over 50 varieties of handmade chocolates that will tantalize your taste buds from the moment you step inside. The inviting aroma envelops you, making it impossible to resist exploring their vast array of individual truffles and pre-packaged treats.
Wonderful, family-owned and operated chocolate shop. Smells amazing from the moment you open the door. Heaps of individual truffles and chocolates for sale, along with pre-bagged and pre-priced options. I’m a vegan so their Extra-Dark items are my only options, but even within that category they’ve got several barks, chocolate covered blueberries, and simple bars. I love taking my daughter here for a treat and always walk away with gifts for people.

Krause’s Chocolates was one of the first businesses I visited when I moved to Saugerties last July and to be honest I’ve been back here more times than I dare to admit… whenever I go, I grab the 1 pound box and ask for it to be filled with all of my favorites. There are several sizes of boxes to choose from, as well as a wide variety of prepackaged goodies! When choosing how to fill your box, I especially like the fact that each type of chocolate is offered in both milk chocolate and dark chocolate varieties… and there are so many delicious flavors to choose from! Krause’s is a must visit, for anyone who comes to Saugerties, NY!

Krause's Chocolates are the absolute best! From their chocolate covered nuts to the delectable peanut butter meltaways and caramels, every piece is a tasty work of art. I have frequented both the Saugerties and Rhinebeck locations for years. Everything at the Saugerties location is so fresh. I have purchased sugar free dark chocolate for a relative and she says it is the most delicious she has ever tasted.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Miss Lucy's Kitchen is a rustic cafe located in Saugerties, offering locally sourced American cuisine in a cozy, country-style setting. The restaurant has won the Best of Hudson Valley award and prides itself on being a farm-to-table establishment. The menu features seasonal dishes with a focus on local meats and duck, all prepared in-house. Owners Marc Propper and Michelle Silver bring their extensive culinary experience to the table, having opened the restaurant in 2003.
Went here expecting a casual mediocre diner food but we were quite blown away by the quality of it. Firstly, the fries were the perfect thickness; not too thin or thick, and super crispy. The pork sandwich and brisket were superb. The crispy brisket was very smoky and had a strong intense flavour which went well with how crispy and a little fatty it was and the burger meet was super smoky and flavourful. Although could have more saucez Service was a bit slow at times but highly highly reccommend this place for a meaningful meal.

Had lunch at Miss Lucy’s Kitchen in Saugerties and really enjoyed the overall experience. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, with a rustic touch that made it feel special. Service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We had the brisket sandwich and burger. We also tried a pink cocktail and ended with their pistachio dessert, which was beautifully presented. While the food was just okay for me (taking one star off for that), the vibe and service were easily 5 stars. It's definitely worth a visit for the ambiance and hospitality!

A nice restaurant for a nice dinner. The food was delicious and the drinks were good. The pasta was so creamy and tasty although it had an excessive amount of sausage in it. The cake was very delicious and not too sweet. The service was okay, the place was a little busy and waitresses seemed tired. One problem is the smell of cooking coming from the kitchen. it gets stuck to your clothes after leaving the place.

After a day of kayaking on the Hudson River four of us went to Miss Lucy’s Kitchen for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend so we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. We walked around Saugerties until our table was ready. It’s a small restaurant that’s been there for a long time. While Saugerties continues to change, Miss Lucy’s continues to stay the same serving delicious food with a nice atmosphere. While looking at the menu two of us had Blood Orange Margaritas and the other two had Spicy Passion Fruit Margaritas, with an order of P.E.I. Mussels; white wine, shallots, fennel, pernod, mint, splash of cream & crostini ($18). For dinner two of us had the House Smoked BBQ Ribs; three cheese mac & cheese and coleslaw ($26), my wife had the Bell & Evans Buttermilk Fried Chicken ($25) and our other friend had the Fresh Pappardelle Pasta; Meiller's sausage, tomato, cream, fennel & red pepper flakes ($26). Everything was delicious. The service was excellent. The menu has two prices for everything; one for cash and the other for credit card. It’s a 4% credit card fee. I personally don’t like restaurants doing that. Credit cards are just the price of doing business. If you are in Saugerties, Miss Lucy’s is a place you need to eat.

We’ve come here several times with our family if 4 both during warmer months and during winter as well. The food is so good each and every time and service is always warm and welcoming.

Nice cozy little restaurant for brunch, lunch, or dinner. You can get excellent salads, sandwiches and entrees here. If traveling through New York state we often stop in Saugerties and this a go to place to eat at. I have never had a meal here that I did not enjoy. Weekends can be busy.

The food was good in general. Service seemed a little slower than if expect for the number of people in there dining. Drinks were good, servers were very polite.

The Dutch Ale House is a charming local hangout that has been serving the community since 1953. The tavern offers a cozy atmosphere and prides itself on offering 16 draft beers, with a focus on using local ingredients in their dishes. The menu features a mix of classic favorites and innovative creations, such as the sausage roll with toasted caraway kraut and IPA mustard. Visitors praise the old brick building's charm and the friendly staff who create a welcoming environment.
I was told that the Dutch has good food and good place of comfort. I was coming back from a hike down by Woodstock. I stopped there real quick to get a cold drink so I wind up meeting a nice young lady. Her name is Tatiana. Pleasant service. Great smile. I wind up getting some food to go, the pulled pork and the chicken wings. The food was superb. The coleslaw was out of this world, one of the best taste and coleslaws I tasted in a while. So anyhow, if you're in the area of Woodstock on main Street, check it out. I guarantee you'll love it

Objectively one of the best meals that I've ever had. Chicken fried steak, Dutch martini, peach pie, I was floored by the quality of this meal. Run, don't walk to the Dutch. Our server Cece was fantastic, great vibes !

A nice spot to have lunch/dinner before exploring the small town of Saugerties. With great atmosphere and friendly bartenders. The Bleu Burger had the best meat I’ve had in a while, the tofu and Eggplant were also scrumptiously good.

A group of us met here for dinner after attending the Garlic Festival. We discovered this restaurant at last year's Festival and liked it so much we made a point to return. The food and drinks were awesome and the schnitzel was an especially big hit. We were very pleased that there were several vegetarian options on the menu as well. Ariel was a wonderful server. She was friendly, helpful and attentive. Thank you, Ariel, and we hope to see you next time.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Our server was Cici and she was an absolute sweetheart She took our orders and make great suggestions. We had fish and chips, chicken pot pie and schnitzel. Everything was delicious. And the dessert was out of this world We shared key lime cheesecake and maple walnut cheesecake. Both were delicious but the maple walnut cheesecake was to die for. Go there!!!! You will not be disappointed
Amanda L — Google review
I wish I could give the food a 3.5, but rating a 4 because this place wasn't bad, I just wished for a few tweaks. The main thing that was a bummer was the cornbread. It was tasty enough, but it was dry and refrigerator cold. I'd love for it to have been warmed. I ended up eating my portion by adding it in chunks to my "Dutch onion soup" which ended up being very tasty. The soup itself was good -- my first bite was very tasty, but I think bites without scallion were a bit less flavorful. The wings! The smoke on the chicken wing was sooo good they just needed more sauce. But really delicious and tender wings. We had 2 draft ciders we really liked. Overall was a good place for us to stop for a snack when we got into town. Very nice staff.

Amanda S our server was fantastic and so nice. With excellent customer service she gave great advice on the food and drinks. The schnitzel was amazing and dessert was too. They have a great selection of beer on draft. Great job all around! Their background music was also really nice not too loud but totally made the atmosphere.

Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

Festival
The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, organized by the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties, is a celebration of all things garlic. Since its inception in 1989, this festival has been drawing in garlic enthusiasts from across the region to revel in the pungent delights of the 'stinking rose.' The event features a bustling marketplace showcasing various garlic varieties, along with an array of food and drinks infused with garlic flavors. Additionally, attendees can explore an assortment of garlic-themed crafts and merchandise.
I go to the garlic festival pretty much every year. Go down, buy some garlic. Some shallots but there's a couple places I really enjoy going to one is getting some kimchi 🙂 And Gary's pickles. I think he has one of the best pickles in the Hudson valley, plus the different food places, the entertainment as well as the people and this year they added a beer garden which is really nice 🙂

The festival was good, time spent waiting in line to enter after purchasing tickets online was ridiculous. When you pre-purchase tickets online you assume that your entry will be quick or at least reasonably quick rather than for the people who didn’t prepay. This was a poorly organized entrance. They had two lines. No one, knowing whether there was a line for pre-purchase tickets or for those who needed to buy them at the event.. waited in line for an extremely long time when we arrived at the ticket window the woman asked me how many tickets, I said I purchased them online she again said how many tickets, then clarified, did you purchase I said 2, she then gave me two paper tickets. We then walked through into the event and a woman took our two paper tickets. They really should have a line for pre-purchase tickets so people don’t have to wait in line with those who did not purchase them in advance. Event was Extremely crowded the lines to purchase were quite long, Traffic going in and leaving the event took about half hour either way. I’ve been going for a number of years, This is the first year I’ve been disappointed with the event because of the long wait times. The event used to be so enjoyable, but this time I couldn’t wait to leave and did not even finish exploring vendors. Dar

If you love to eat garlic or want to try growing your own, then this annual fest is for you! Think of it as a garlic themed farmers market. Lots of foods to try, crafts to peruse, and seed garlic to consider planting. It’s a popular fest, so go early or later in the day for minimal traffic headaches.

We heard about this festival a few years back from a friend and every time we’re ready to go, something pops up. This time determination prevailed :) We departed late for a 2 + hour trip… as we got into town, we opted to ignore googles turn suggestions and follow the Garlic Festival signs which led us straight to a closed road. My advice, listen to google map’s directions… because google knows! Lol. I noticed there were three entry points to the festival and we were lucky enough to find parking on a residential street just outside one of them. This was our first time here, the size of this festival was impressive and the venders were very interactive and friendly with the people. Samples (try before you buy) was a great idea. Bring your own plastic utensils, some of the vendors had already run out for tastings. Sleep deprived and arriving close to closing time, we just ambulated from one vender to another having casual conversations. I met Frank and Brian, two farmers sharing a booth where I first learned about black garlic, a product derived from aging regular garlic bulbs over the course of weeks or months, a process called the Maillard reaction, the one I tasted was like molasses with hints of cocoa and licorice. I’ve already swapped out fresh garlic with roasted garlic in my soups… this could be the beginning of new creative recipes :) I was seeking Rocambole to plant a different variety from the ones I’ve planted in past years and Brian recommended the Heirloom GSF 65 (Garlic Seed Foundation “Temptess Rocambole”) With dark reddish brown cloves, and speckles of purple on the skin of the bulb. We moved on to another vender where we found a variety of flavored honey, they were out of plastic spoons so I can’t give you any feedback on their product. Moved on to Phelps Woodside Farm who has his own bee farm, his bees process nectar from wood trees and his light honey has a hint of maple. Venders traveled from near and far to set up at this festival. There were ample garlic themed food stands and creative crafts going on here, some of the handmade crafts inspired my inner creativity to start up again. There are two types of garlic, the stiff neck and soft neck. The stiff neck (aka hard neck) sub ophioscorodon has a stem growing in the center of the bulb that grows scapes (consists bulbils). Moving on to the last table (prior to farmers commencement of packing up) where discussions took place about porcelain garlic vs rocambole and I was told most of them are selections of only a handful of basic types that have been grown widely and developed their own characteristics over the centuries as local growing conditions changed. The person who made an impression on me the most was Tom, from Holmsquest Farms and Greenhouse. With 4 generations of farming and over 500 acres, his large German white and red garlic bulbs were being offered at the best price there. (Allium sativum subs. ophioscorodon Big Porcelain bulbs typically yield four to eight huge cloves; Favored by growers for its hardiness range, this is a dependable producer even in poorer conditions. White outer skin, red inner skins. Hardy plants, hearty flavor, excellent storage. Also known as German Stiffneck and German White.) he had a small stock of black garlic, cipollini , shallots, red and white onions on display and invited us to come and visit if we’re ever in the area as he handed us his card. *Garlic is in the allium sativa family also related to daffodils and orchids, and is considered one of the closest relatives of onions, a widely used vegetable that has a pungent smell and flavor as well. Note: If you slice open your garlic clove and notice that there is a green stem inside, this indicates that your garlic is sprouting and past its prime. We had a lot of fun, met new and interesting people and will be looking forward to next year’s festival :)

This is the best festival every year!! They have garlic everything: pickles, chocolate, bread, pesto, pasta, lemonade, beef jerkey, humus, kielbasa, hot sauce, rubs, honey, peanut butter, nuts, chips, kimchi, clothes, jewelry, furniture, and obviously every variety of freshly picked garlic. Can't wait until next year.

THE BEST!! Bring cash as the Internet is sketchy for some merchants. But bring lotsa cash!!! It's so delicious and sooo much to carouse and see! I got EVERY year since the third festival way back when!! No Pets... It's too crowded for them, seriously.

Chinese restaurant
Szechuan King is a Chinese restaurant with an unassuming takeout shop front but a cozy, softly lit interior for dining in. While specializing in spicy Szechuan cuisine, it also offers other popular Chinese dishes. The food has slight variations that set it apart from typical Chinese takeout, such as including carrots in the chicken and broccoli dish. Customers praise the flavorful Singapore Rice Noodles with generous portions of meat and vegetables.
Been getting food from Szechuan for over 25 years! Not only are the owners the nicest people, their food is as awesome as they are! Quality, fresh ingredients, and the portions are big! We call their chicken noodle soup “the magic soup” in my family because whenever one of us get sick, it is the best for recovery! My sister used to go so frequently for lunch that the one day she stopped in for something small and didn’t have cash on her like usual, Kit said not to worry about it and to get them next time. It happened to be the week she left for college. She came back on holiday and stopped in to pay her bill and grab some food and they laughed and said, “Where’ve you been!?”. We have a lot of family that live here and so when our grandparents call to order food and one of the grandchildren picks up, they’ll ask which Mulligan we belong to, lol. Truly one of the best additions to our small town Saugerties! Keep it local!
Snargleduke — Google review
There’s a certain authenticity in the way Szechuan Panda carries itself on Mesa Ridge Parkway in Fountain, Colorado. It’s not about pretense or slick decor—it’s about the raw, unvarnished pleasure of good Chinese food done right. Stepping inside, you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden gem, a place that pays homage to the tradition of home-cooked meals without any of the polished trimmings. The moment you walk in, the smell hits you. That intoxicating mix of sizzling garlic, chili, and soy sauce rolling off the woks in the back. You hear the sharp clang of metal spatulas against hot pans, the controlled chaos of a kitchen that’s been perfecting these flavors for years. It’s the kind of place where you sit down, breathe in deep, and suddenly realize just how hungry you really are. Then comes the real struggle—the menu. Because everything, and I mean everything, is good. You tell yourself you’ll try something new this time, but then you remember how good the orange chicken was last time—crispy, golden bites of perfectly battered chicken, coated in that sticky, citrusy sauce that somehow hits sweet, savory, and tangy all at once. But wait, maybe you should go for the shrimp, because that garlicky, wok-fried perfection was unreal. Or should you get the lo mein? Or the Mongolian beef? The pain of choosing is real. If you’re lucky, you’re dining in, soaking in the smells and the hum of the kitchen while your food is made fresh. But if you’re staying home, ordering is effortless—a few taps, and before you know it, your food is at your door, still hot, still just as good as if you were eating it in the restaurant. The service? Fast, efficient, and reliable. They don’t mess around. In a world where every restaurant seems to chase the next big trend, Szechuan Panda stands out as a reminder of what real cooking is all about. There’s soul here—a sense that every dish is prepared with a nod to tradition and an understanding that sometimes, the best meals are the ones that make you feel right at home.

The worst Chinese restaurant I've been to. We were driving around Saugerties, NY yesterday and stopped by downtown to find a good place to have lunch. We parked when we saw the sign SzeChuan King and I went inside ahead of my companions. I was shocked by the manner the manager or owner greeted me. The middle aged guy was literally shouting at me and talking to me in a very condescending and disrespectful tone. I wanted to leave immediately but then my 2 companions also entered the place so I stayed. When we three were already seated, he continued the same shouting at us in a very loud voice and aggressive manner. We patiently took it all in as we were hungry and needed to eat before we could proceed on our road trip. He put the food on the counter and yelled it's ready, without even courteously trying to bring it to our table. The place wasn't busy at all, we three were the only customers seated on a corner table. While eating my companions were similarly expressing how rude and aggressive the guy was. They even used the word "harassed" to describe how guy was treating us. I am wondering how the town of Saugerties has even allowed this SzeChuan King restaurant to operate. The guy has cast a very bad impression of the town. He and his SzeChuan King restaurant has no place in a business district of a small town. He should be required to treat customers with respect and courtesy before he is allowed to operate the business. We all left feeling bad with very negative impression.

Although the food here is.... not bad, neither is it .... good. It does, however, serve that one purpose of food in that it solves that nagging problem of hunger whereby once you've eaten it, you will no longer be hungry or, indeed, need or want to eat again.

This 5 star review is based on Chinese take out. If you are looking for a traditional or higher end Chinese cuisine or experience this is not it. This is a solid Chinese take out joint. This is my favorite in the area because they have slight differences in the food compared to many other Chinese takeout. Some people might not like it, some might hate it and some might not even notice it. For example they have carrots in the chicken in broccoli. Not a lot and not just random piece’s that might have fell in but they add in a small bit of thinly sliced carrots. The boneless spareribs are very different. Most places have smaller pieces covered in sauce. Here it’s bigger pieces with not a lot of sauce. The wontons are my personal favorite. I don’t know why or how but they are just good. I have ordered here dozens of times and the order is always correct, made in a timely fashion and they are always friendly. Just a solid Chinese take out joint.

Worst Chinese food I ever had in 71 yrs. Everything.went in deep frier with dirty grease. Who deep fries spare ribs and chicken teriyaki? Please stear clear. Threw it all away. I don't care how pleasant or jovial the owner is I want good food. This ain't it.

The food is more quantity over quantity. The crab Rangoon does not have cream cheese, there missing something was let down. The sweet and sour chicken was mainly breading with very little chicken. This was a bad experience, however it was a ton of food. They seem to be polite.

The food was incredible and the meat was nice and tender! Highly recommend. The chef made sure to give us a fresh meal, and had it ready in less than a half hour. The sandwich bread was very fresh and tasty. Would definitely come back!!

LOVE BINAS!! Food that’s made with love & care. Lovely people & so accommodating to us vegans! Fridays & Saturdays they serve delicious curry dishes (sometimes off menu to make it vegan!)— & for lunch, their falafel & vegan sandwich is so damn good. Couldn’t recommend more!!

Honest, tasty food. Staff is really nice. They have Desi (of the Indian subcontinent) dishes and Desi inspired sandwiches and breakfast items. Will definitely stop here again next time it’s on my route. Saugerties, the town, is charming too.

My boyfriend and I love lamb gyros and we have a hard time finding quality food around upstate new York like we do the city. Binas lamb is some of the best we’ve ever had even better than some of the places in the city. The lamb and rice is phenomenal, the chicken tikka is phenomenal, lamb gyro with fresh pita. Can’t beat the quality at binas - 10/10. They do it right here

Food and drink
Formerly known as The Tavern at Diamond Mills, BLACKBARN Hudson Valley offers a sophisticated and airy dining experience with seasonal New American cuisine. The hotel lobby is intimate, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Guests can park in the convenient lot during the off-season. Visitors have enjoyed reasonably priced Thanksgiving set menus with attentive staff in a lovely location. The restaurant features an open, airy, and clean space with a great outdoor area.
We stopped here just for drinks as we had already eaten, and because the place looked very cool. They have a large bar, a large open dining area, and a very large beautiful outdoor seating area overlooking Esopus Creek and a very large group of conjoined waterfalls. I had a Bloody Mary and the wife had a Vodka and grapefruit juice. Both drinks were presented beautifully, with several types of garnishes in the Bloody, including celery, olives, peppers, and a specially flavored salt on the rim - fantastic! The vodka & grapefruit included some fresh violets floating in the glass (edible) adding a dash of wonderful color and whimsy to the drink. Both drinks were skillfully crafted by our bartender "Hawaiian Brian", a refreshingly friendly and attentive server. The venue itself is a beautifully designed space, with killer views overlooking the river from the very large dining room and outdoor deck. This place would be wonderful for a wedding or other big event for up to about 100 people. The menu is widely varied, and fairly unusual. I am looking forward to having a meal here very soon!

My son's girlfriend and I enjoyed a lovely brunch at Blackbarn last Sunday afternoon. Unexpectedly we both ended up ordering huevos rancheros and light drinks that were a mix of Prosecco and lavender with a nasturium flower added to make it seem all the more elegant. Our young waiter took terrific care of us, and the hostess even gifted us with a lovely small "turtle" that she had crafted out of the wire that held the Prosecco bottle closed. We had a great meal, and the staff took wonderful care of us! I highly recommend visiting this classy farm to table restaurant in Saugerties, NY!

We had the most wonderful experience celebrating our best friend’s 50th birthday, and it couldn’t have been more special — thanks in large part to Chris! As part of the Waterside Spa at Diamond Mills, Chris thoughtfully helped curate an unforgettable day for us, and then generously extended his care by coordinating a beautiful dinner at The Black Barn. From start to finish, every detail was handled with such care and intention. We were given a lovely private room with a stunning view of the waterfall, which made for an incredible backdrop for photos. I was also given the opportunity to personalize and decorate the table, which added such a meaningful touch to the evening. The staff at The Black Barn — from the warm welcome at the front door to the attentive servers — were gracious, professional, and made us feel so celebrated. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and enjoyed by all. This entire experience — from the spa to the dinner — was seamless, joyful, and full of special touches that made the celebration truly unforgettable. A heartfelt thank you to Chris and the entire team at both Waterside Spa and The Black Barn for going above and beyond. We can’t wait to return.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Black barn is a beautiful venue that has the potential to host weddings and great place for date nights and celebrations. Even though it was a classy setting with views of the dam in the outdoor seating area, they are also very family friendly. They have a kids menu and their drinks came with cute plastic cartoon straw cups. The $17 option comes with ice cream for the kids too. This place could have easily gotten 5 stars if the food wasn't all overly salty (even my kids didn't even eat their fries). It's a pity because everything was plated so beautifully. Their octopus appetizer was not fresh and their ahi tuna was overcooked. When our waiter took our order he didn't ask what our kids wanted to drink even though a drink came with the kids and we were charged $4 for each. They quickly corrected it when we pointed it out but we also had to remind them about the kids' ice cream (which they mixed up the kids' order too). The waived the cake cutting fee as we had a party of 10. Nevertheless, it is still a nice place to visit if you want a place with a beautiful atmosphere and also family friendly. The staff were all very friendly and kind.

I planned to love this place! But it was just ok. So, I put in the reservation that a) it was an anniversary and b) I have an onion allergy. We arrived and the place was pretty empty. Plenty of staff per customer. We chose to sit outside which was lovely. The hostess was pleasant enough. Our waiter came- very young, eager to get our drink order etc. after perusing I asked if I could have the mocktail with passion fruit juice (which I love) but with a shot, so not a mocktail. He said sure. The drink I got did not have any passion fruit juice in it, and in fact tasted like rosemary which is not my favorite. I couldn’t drink it. Then i mentioned my allergies and the waiter had not known about it. He seemed really unsure what to recommend so I went inside to chat with the hostess. I just wanted her to alert the manager to help as the waiter (lovely guy) seemed new. She said we should have put it in the reservation. I said I did. She looked and said “you wrote onion and garlic but you didn’t write allergy.” I said it was in response to a question on your form about allergies. (Also why else would someone write onion and garlic on the reservation?) She got really flustered/annoyed and said “everything has onions, you should just get a salad if anything.” It was so rude. There are 2 kinds of restaurant people- those that are eager to help with allergies and those that make you feel you don’t have the right to come out at all. She was the latter. She also said the chef went home so there was no one to ask. (What?) When we got back to the table, a sous chef was there. We were able to talk through options and settled on the scallops. They were delicious! They never acknowledged the anniversary (again it’s a question on the form. Why ask if it’s meaningless?) and when we gave the waiter our “free glass of wine” ticket from the hotel, he accidentally charged us anyway. Overall I have to go with three stars as their system is messy. With an empty restaurant there was NO REASON to make me feel unwelcome. The waiter was attentive but needed more training. Overall, they just need to focus on staff training and this place can be amazing. Look at the view! It was my husband’s birthday and mine this week and our anniversary… and we were ready for a splurge and this ended up being just ok.

Annarella Ristorante is a delightful Italian restaurant that offers a fabulous dining experience in the Catskills. The dishes are not only visually appealing but also bursting with flavor. From perfectly cooked Tonnarelli con Aragosta to the delectable Bistecca con Rughetta, every dish is a culinary delight. The Veal Porterhouse and Veal Ravioli are equally delicious, and the Portuguese Octopus is tender and flavorful.
Visiting the Catskills area and we found this hidden gem. The food was amazing! I had the Tonnarelli con Aragosta and it was perfect. The house salad was also really delicious and they were kind enough to give us another portion. I would highly recommend this place if you’re visiting the area!

Food & service was very good for the most part. The Sachetti was the best. We found it interesting that dishes like linguini w/ clam sauce & veal parmigiana were on the specials menu since you can usually find those on the regular menu of your average pizzaria & this is a higher end Italian restaurant. I tried the veal after a convincing sales pitch from the waiter that I solicited. It was good. Probably better than any pizzaria I’d ever had it at. But not $56 good. We also had the stuffed long hots, Caesar salad ($10 up charge from the house salad), & desert, all of which were pretty underwhelming, 1 mixed drink & a bottle of San Pelegrino. Total $190 for dinner for 2. Probably won’t be back. P. S. The Chandelier room was beautiful

Oh my! What an absolute gem! The food, the service were fantastic. Really the food was just excellent perfectly cooked not overly salted just delicious. We had the eggplant rolantini app, the chicken marsala, and the rigatoni with a Ragu. We ate on the outside porch and it was lovely and quiet. I thought the total cost was very reasonable for an appetizer, two cocktails and two entrées --especially for such good food.

✨ Review for Annarella ✨ Dining at Annarella is an absolute delight from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and welcoming, whether you’re coming for an intimate dinner, a family gathering, or a special celebration, it feels like the perfect setting. The food is truly the star. Every dish bursts with authentic flavor, prepared with a clear passion for quality and tradition. From the fresh, perfectly balanced appetizers to the beautifully presented mains and decadent desserts, each plate feels like it’s made with love. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the care in the preparation shines through. Service is exceptional, warm, attentive, and genuine. The staff makes you feel like part of the family, always ready with thoughtful recommendations and a smile. Annarella is more than a restaurant; it’s an experience. It’s where excellent cuisine, heartfelt hospitality, and beautiful ambiance come together. A true gem, I can’t wait to return! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ate here on a visit from Colorado and we had such a wonderful meal! We don't have great Italian food where I live, so I was very excited to eat here — and my expectations were high. We shared the special appetizer, fried mozzarella, and then the lobster pasta and chicken limone, and then tiramisu for dessert. All of it was outstanding! Plus we just enjoyed being able to sit and linger, the service was great. Wish we were closer!

Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson River Valley from this operational lighthouse. Additionally, tourists can explore the Kiersted House in the Village of Saugerties to learn about local architectural history.
The walk is very easy but hot and humid most days. The lighthouse area and house are closed on weekends 🙃 but you can still get to it and take some pretty pics as I did for my daughter's maternity shoot.

I wandered around the outside, so cute, secluded overlooking river- hard to get booking- was at Total Tennis on labor day sightseeing, discovered this place it’s a bit of a mucky walk-through mud and reeds… You can also get to it from a boat, which is probably much cleaner, but it’s so romantic on the edge of the water and an old old lighthouse rustic vibe .someday I wanna stay here, the outside and walking around the porch wrapping around. It was just so cute.

Great peaceful place to view the river And enjoy watching the boats come in and out of the marinas .

The Saugerties Lighthouse is a beautiful and historic gem. The lighthouse was built in 1869. Today it is possible to take a scenic hike to it, take a tour of it, or stay overnight in it. The nature trail to the lighthouse is open daily. The trail to the lighthouse is an easy half mile walk. The trail offers scenic panoramic views of the Hudson River. Be sure to check the tide table that is posted online to avoid tidal water on your hike. The lighthouse is actually still used today as an aid for navigating the Hudson. If you’re interested in tours or staying overnight check the Saugerties Lighthouse website. Parking for the lighthouse is easy and the nature trail starts from the parking lot. Overall, the lighthouse is a nice piece of history located on the scenic Hudson.

I can't comment on the rooms or service since we didn't stay here. It's about a half mile hike to the lighthouse, some on boardwalks. You can only view the lighthouse as the walkway around it is closed off. Nice views of the Hudson River when you get to the lighthouse.

Its magiçal. I don't know if its better or worse to not have known there was a lengthy little hike. I was totalky unprepared in flip flops but once on the trail its absolutely breaktaking! Wild flowers and cute foit bridges to cross over pockets of water. There are breaks along the folliage on the path that levels amazing shore lines and water you could swim in, like a small lake/ beach. At the end of the path you step onto a floating dock that appears to be at level withthe water and then you see the vastness of thr lake set against some of the high hills and Mountain like peeks. It was so invigorating! If you are new to outdoors/hiking this is exvellent for someone like myself.

Upstate Films, affectionately known as the Orpheum Theatre in Saugerties, is a charming independent cinema that transports you back in time. With its historic ambiance and cozy atmosphere, it specializes in showcasing an eclectic mix of independent, foreign, and art-house films. The ticket booth may have a quirky character or two behind it, but the friendly staff always greet you with warm smiles that enhance your movie-going experience.
Obsessed with this movie theater!! Was staying in a town nearby for the weekend and decided to see a movie and it was such a great experience! This is a nice little theater with a really excellent sound system. The movies shown here are not blockbusters, but small niche films that appeal to a limited audience, hence the size is not an issue. The theater is a trip to the past from the moment you stand at the ticket window. The old guy in the ticket booth can sometimes be a tiny bit cranky, but, the crew has always been very nice and big smiles. In all the times I've been there, I have never seen more that four to five people waiting in line to purchase tickets. And that was for Capt. Marvel! It is cash only. Popcorn is good. Bring a small pillow 'cause seats are butt breakers. Image and sound quality is just okay. Street parking. But, I have never had to park more than half a block away. All in all, It is a small town theater with a cranky old man at the window, good crew, good popcorn and butt breaking seats. LOL

Athletic field
Cantine Field is a vast multi-sport complex located in the south side of the Village, featuring numerous baseball diamonds, an indoor skating rink, and a beautiful dam separating the upper and lower Esopus Creek. The park hosts various events such as the annual Garlic Festival and Caribbean Festival, offering activities like bounce houses, face painting, and showcasing farmy vendors. Visitors can enjoy watching sports games or attending fun events while indulging in concession stand treats like burgers, hot dogs, and sodas.
I had a great time at Cantine Field in Saugerties, NY! I went there for both the Garlic Festival and the Caribbean Festival, and both events were fantastic. The atmosphere was laid back and fun, with lots of delicious food and cool vendors. The field is spacious and well-maintained, perfect for big events. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

Cantine Field is a 127-acre group of baseball fields located in Saugerties, NY. The field is home to the Saugerties Stallions of the Perfect Game College Baseball League. The fields and athletic facilities are well maintained. The Stallions arguably have the best playing field in the PGCBL. The main baseball field was built in 1937. For PGCBL games there are bleachers set up along the first and third base lines. Along the third base line there is a large picnic area to enjoy the game. You are allowed to bring your own seats for this area. Behind home plate there are VIP chairback seats. Further behind the VIP seats there are another set of bleachers located underneath a roof. The bleacher seats have a nice view of the whole field. For Stallions games there is a reasonably priced concession stand. There is also a nice well stocked team merchandise shop. The Stallions have a welcoming atmosphere and seeing a game at Cantine Field is a great experience.

Went here for my grandson's Little League Championship game. The place is huge! I counted at least eight baseball diamonds, and all of them were in use. There were games going on already when we arrived, and as my grandson's team went through their warmups, we walked over and watched an inning of what looked like a girl's team's championship. The concession had burgers, hot dogs, sodas, and a couple of other items, which is a nice touch when you're at the park all day. Plenty of parking, and a lot of room to set up shade tents. That was really great since it was extremely hot out. What a great place.

I remember swimming here as a kid with my older brothers and sisters. The town would always have an active lifeguard there, and each summer, they would have swim lessons for the kids. This was a happening place back in the 80s and 90s and holds a special place in my heart. There was a news paper article one year that featured all of the kids doing lessons. I remember getting Italian ice across the way, going to fays, and the gas station to get 5 cent bazooka joe gum....I know I sound old...but these good times were only 34 years ago!

Great little gem.perfect for seniors and wheelchairs. Bathrooms are clean. And it feels very.much like your own private spot. Life guard was there. And we watched a group of seniors doing Thai chi....it was a perfect morning!

Such an awesome spot! We took our hybrid kayak and ventures into the creek, super clean great water to swim in, rocky textures further in! Only trouble I felt is the big real state block of building coming right on the accessible public waters. Not the best view at first. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it!

Nice place to fish and kayak when the fecal content isn't high! It's a shame drains still run off into the esopus. Could be nice and clean if run offs were monitored! Big fish in here, especially upstream! Very seceneic along the esopus! Would definitely recommend!

An excellent, authentic Hudson River experience! (It's inaccessible at hight tide — for your information. That bumps authenticity even higher. Parking space is the only shortage.

can be a nice, quiet place to hang for a little while. it's a shame how those new buildings to the left of the beach have ruined the view. also people bring their dogs here all the time when it clearly says no dogs. nobody polices this. kids running around the grass without shoes on and dogs peeing all over the place. it's a shame

Esopus Bend Nature Preserve is a sprawling 160-acre woodland sanctuary located in Saugerties, offering a picturesque setting and an array of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore hiking trails, take guided nature walks, enjoy birding field trips, and even embark on canoe tours or kayaking adventures along the Esopus Creek shoreline. The preserve is home to diverse wildlife including red foxes, eagles, turkeys, and various bird species.
Great little hike with Buddy (an 11 year old dachshund) Just enough challenge without being too challenging or too rocky. Well marked trails, though still ended up getting out on the wrong side of the park. 2.6 miles , 1hr 45 minutes. Long enough to exhaust the dog so i can leave him alone tonight and take in a movie without guilt.
Janet B — Google review
Perfect scenic trails that allow you to bring your dog/s. There is limited parking but we didn’t have a problem. There is a beautiful creek that you can walk along as well. It’s also not too challenging and the perfect spot to get steps in while catching in the magnificent scenery. I will certainly be returning when the leaves start to change next month.

This preserve gets two stars. One just for preserving the area from development and protecting the watershed. Two for no trash. I guess if I lived here it would be a great place to walk a dog or get your steps in. Otherwise sadly disappointing from the standpoint of restoration, natural beauty, or biodiversity. Chock full of invasive species and doesn't seem to be managed with the promotion sustaining of native species in the forefront. Trails are poorly marked and could be better maintained. Just kind of sad and ugly, honestly.

Nice quiet place with some trails. It was a little interesting getting to it as you go through housing areas and it has a tiny little parking area. Not big at all and could be hard to find a spot if it was crowded. No one was there when we were there. We walked a few of the trails, went down to the creek.

I did the blue trail starting at shady lane. It was a beautiful and and easy hike compared to most catskill hikes. Kids would enjoy but it's a bit far. Probably 2 miles give or take .5

It was challenging enough to get my heart rate up a few times, but relaxing enough to unwind.

We had a lovely hike through the preserve on a beautiful sunny spring day. It's not a demanding trail at all which was perfect for me being my knee is having issues. It didn't stress my knees at all. It's lovely standing by the creek. There is a small waterfall along the trail.

Nice area to explore. We hiked a few relatively short trails. Some inclines that were good excersize, and the trails don't take long. The entrance we used only had a few parking spaces. The Saugerties Lighthouse is nearby

I had the pleasure today of purchasing a boat from Connor at Saugerties Marina. Connor is very friendly and knowledgeable. He responded quickly when I was messaging him and was very fair in negotiating. His team did a great job prepping the boat and trailer for my long ride home. I highly recommend Connor and Saugerties Marina.

Had a fantastic experience at Saugerties Marina! Connor was an amazing captain—friendly, knowledgeable, and took us to some great fishing spots on our rented pontoon. His dad Casey was just as welcoming and helpful. Can’t recommend them enough!

We had a great experience!!! The whole experience was super smooth—from booking to boarding. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure we were comfortable/having fun the entire time. The boat itself was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a fun day on the water. Definitely recommend if you're looking to relax, explore, or just enjoy some sunshine. Would 100% book with them again!

Our small bachelorette party group of six took a sunset cruise at Saugerties Marina and had such a great experience! The original date we booked wound up having thunderstorms on the forecast and we were able to easily switch to another day. Our captain Connor was helpful and accommodating and the boat was perfect. Would recommend to anyone who wants a fun & scenic activity!

We chartered a boat with Connor for my friend’s bachelorette party. We had an absolute blast tubing on the Hudson. The boat was pristine and Connor was a very friendly and responsible captain. He brought us to a lovely bar on the water, which everyone enjoyed. It was truly the best day. Booking this event was seamless, with good communication in the days leading up to the trip. They even provided a cooler with ice and cold waters which I haven't had on other charters I’ve been on. I would definitely book with Saugerties Marina again and can’t recommend them enough!

A great day on the river. Casey is checking out our rental which came with rods, cut bait and live herring! Wonderful spot to go out on the great Hudson River. Thanks Casey for everything

Amazing service! Was so easy to coordinate with Casey & Conner to make a boat of 10+ girls have the best time. We wanted a speed boat for water activities and then a pontoon and they allowed us to get pontoon and took a ski boat out for an hour for the people to do water activities. They helped everyone feel comfortable in the sport they chose and were very easy to work with. Would HIGHLY recommend!!! They are a vibbbbeeeeeeee

Pizza restaurant
Slices of Saugerties, located at 71 Partition Street, is a must-visit pizza spot that has gained recognition as a Best of Hudson Valley winner. Visitors rave about the Grandma style Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella slice and the delicious garlic knots. The pizza is described as fresh with great sauce and thin, crisp crust. Customers appreciate the high-quality ingredients and genuine care put into making the food. The excellent customer service and delivery option add to the overall positive experience.
Stopped in for a quick slice. We were a group of 7. We each got a few different slices. We were all please. The grandma slices were delicious. Sauce was perfect. Definitely would return if I'm back in the area. Staff was friendly, but didn't seem overly enthusiastic. But overall, I'd recommend.

The best grandma around. Garlic Parm wings and garlic knots both super solid. Love their garlic knots garlic burn from the tons of fresh chopped garlic. Wings were crispy and had the chopped garlicky oil from the knots on them.

USA is famous for their quintessential pizzas and pizza slices. If in Saugerties, feel free to explore which served a wide variety of pizza slices (quite big in size) including both veg and non veg options as well Garlic bread (or rather garlic knots) - quite different than i have had earlier, probably Saugerties special!! Service was quick (takeaway) and food tasted great if not outstanding.

Definitely a solid 5!! Excellent selection of both round and Sicilian pies. Crispy crusts, flavorful and NOT greasy. Check out their menu.
David D — Google review
The whole wheat Gramma crust alone makes this pizza a cut above but the variety of toppings is such a long list that it’s hard to choose! I enjoy the unusual ones they offer like eggplant and artichokes. The fried dough is a huge pile of fried to perfection bite sized pieces!
Dianae W — Google review
We got the vegan pizza to go. It was delicious! The artichoke and herbs really helped blend all the flavors together and the crust was amazing!
Emily R — Google review
The grandmas slices are delicious. Super crunchy crust and the red sauce is sweet and great flavor. The sesame crusted pizza w fresh mozzarella, basil and balsamic is also a win!

Walked in with my 2 year old to get a few slices for lunch, caprese for me and plain cheese for the toddler, and the person working VERY thoughtfully asked if I wanted the cheese slice heated up and also asked if I wanted it cut up. The dining room was clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the slices were good. Would absolutely recommend.

Food and drink
Seasonal, refined New American plates served in a sophisticated, airy space with a creekside patio.

The Avenue Steakhouse is a delightful dining destination that promises an unforgettable culinary experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply indulging in a weekend brunch, this restaurant excels in both food and service. Guests rave about the dry-aged porterhouse steak, which rivals even the finest steakhouses in Manhattan, while other dishes like salmon steak with shrimp showcase fresh ingredients and exquisite flavors. The atmosphere is bright and inviting, complemented by friendly staff who are attentive to your needs.
This place is amazing. The dry aged steak is on par with any of Manhattan's best steakhouses. Every bit of food was fresh and delicious, and the presentation was perfect. The portions were very generous. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful. The staff were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. The chef owner, Jeff, came out to greet us and make sure we were enjoying everything. Everything was perfect. The experience here is how every restaurant experience should be.

Food was very good, one person did say that the salmon was the first time they have ordered salmon at a restaurant and did not like it. There was too much pepper. One person asked for no butter and was surprised how much heavy cream their meal had. My spaghetti was very good. I would come back again.

Absolutely wonderful place! Food is excellent. The staff was amazing and attentive! We had an 80th birthday party and they took care of every detail. We live out of town and Mary, the point of contact was extremely attentive and took care of everything! All we had to do was show up and eat! Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a night out!

Sat and brought a drink and then left to sit there for 1 hour and 15 minutes without anything more than a slice of bread. When the server finally came to our table we ordered a second drink and begged for another bit of bread. Salads never came … dinner came grossly undercooked. I said well done. What a disappointment.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner here, and everything was amazing. They diligently organized tablecloths, napkins and flowers to match our wedding colors. They helped us create a pre-set menu that worked for our 40-person group, and had our party seated and ordered in a very short amount of time. The service was great, the food was amazing, and the drinks/bar service was incredible. Could not recommend this restaurant more, especially to larger events / parties that are looking to rent out the entire dining room!

I still can't say enough good things about this place. Our waitress, Morgan, was an absolute doll. So attentive kind and knowledgeable about the menu. Jeff the chef creates some of the best meals and his sauces magnificent. Tonight's birthday dinner for my family was an absolute delight.

Today was our first visit to The Avenue for Sunday brunch. I found it difficult to find out when exactly the restaurant had brunch and found today online that it is the first Sunday of each month. I also had difficulty finding the brunch menu, so I am attaching photo of menu with my review. The inside of the restaurant is quite welcoming nicely decorated and clean. Our waiter was nice enough sorry he never told us his name. Service was timed, not rushed and we were given an opportunity to enjoy our Bloody Mary's before our food arrived. I had the deluxe which included a nice size shrimp, bacon and pickled veggies. I enjoyed the Crab cake Benedict and my husband had the Avenue Breakfast burrito. We each took 1/2 of our entrees home, more food than we could have in one sitting. The entrees were accompanied by a lovely salad with a light vinaigrette dressing, burrito had fries and Benedict had delicious potato/onion/pepper mixture. Will definitely go back again, next time in the evening for one of their steak entrees. I

Very pretty hike for me and Buddy. The falls and the river views were beautiful. There’s cool wooden handmade benches to relax on. The trails were well marked. There were some rocky/slightly steep parts, but that makes things more interesting. Everyone i saw there (6 people) each had their dog with them . Good hike for humans and dogs alike!

Leisurely walk that takes less than an hour total. Fairly flat with rewarding views. The red and white trail form a loop, whereas the blue trail ventures down to river in a smaller loop that’s great for smaller children. Both loops offer water views and benches viewing small waterfalls.

Falling Waters Preserve is a great area to hike and take in the beauty of the Hudson River. There are three main trails of different lengths and the trails are well marked. The small parking lot holds about 10 cars.

We had a wonderful time on our hike. The waterfalls were small but really relaxing and wonderful to see. There were several benches throughout the park where you could sit and enjoy the sights. It was free, safe and beautiful.

Very pretty spot for a walk and/or run. Its not a long trail and really pretty in the woods.

It is fine. Thought the waterfalls were underwhelming. The paths were a bit buggy and the white path along water was blocked for most part of the views of the Hudson. Overall it was a quick decent hike but nothing to go out of your way for.

Seamon Park, located in Saugerties, is a manmade park known for its beautiful flowers and plants that create a relaxing atmosphere. The park features a BBQ area and a small playground for children, making it suitable for various events such as weddings, birthdays, and holiday parties. While the entrance to the parking area may not be clearly marked, the gardens are adorned with memorial benches, a gazebo, and elegant statues.
This place looks the same as it did 30 years ago. It looks smaller as I've gotten older, but it seems to have not changed. There's an old Sawyer Mill at the creek, remnants of an old house, a small playground for little kids that looks like it hasn't been changed in 30 plus years. If you looking for a small park to go to just to relax this is it. Especially during the mum festival. They have a lot of beautiful mums flowers, a couple vendors, and some music. There's also a small petting zoo.
Buck R — Google review
Overall fun park. Very diverse (and maybe more hazardous for toddlers) but we still had a great time. The park grass tends to flood in the rain so our socks got wet and both parking lots require you to walk across grass. Oh bonus points for the name. Super clever 😏

Seamon Park has beautiful trees in spring. There is a nice view of the Catskill Mountains from the park as well. It is a quiet area. The park has a small parking area and getting in and out may be tricky on when 9W is busy.

Always a nice garden. In past they had tulips. This time mainly varieties of daffodils and narcisis. Parking by former grissmill is safer than street side, however after school there may be some smoking Hooligans.

A pretty little park , easy walking distance from the center of the village. One of only 2 village parks that allow dogs ( leashed). A very serene and peaceful spot with a beautiful view of the mountains. I took these photos in the spring- lots of beautiful blooming trees!

The entrance to the parking area could be better marked. It felt a bit like I was entering someone's private driveway. The gardens are lovely with many memorial benches, a gazebo, and neat statues. The playground is quite old school: mostly jungle gyms, big rocks and logs to climb. There are baby swings but no big kid swings despite a frame that looks like it housed them. My kids(4 and 8) weren't real impressed with that aspect. Picturesque views of mountains, forest, and fields with grazing deer.

Went the last two years and even though there are a limited number of venders they bring the heat. Awesome artisan bread, great apple cider, and even better food.

As with most farmers markets prices were very high. Small wedge of cheese $16, small imported hard sausage $14, croissants $3 each and a bit dry. All from different vendors. East to get to. Parking manager was nice, helpful, super upbeat and awesome overall. The markets location was good and walkable downtown Saugerties with plenty of interesting shops is just a few blocks away.

Quaint farmer’s market. Didn't have cash so I used my credit card to change for market credit. Bought some flowers and vegetables before heading back to the city.

Market is great! Parking is kind of scary! My son almost got hit going across the parking lot to the market. Pretty scary. Might want to rethink parking!!

One of the best markets I've ever been to. The folks who put it on every week really think about Community and create a space where community can not only support local farmers but can also connect with each other and enjoy the best parts about being human. For a few hours every Saturday during the summer, life slows down and people matter.

Wonderful variety of local farm fare, vegetables, baked goods, crafts. Live music and kids activities, look for the farm animal day! Also, get tacos! BEST tacos at twisted tacos and they have veg/vegan options for all of them!! Highly recommend!

A good variety of booths. They have a nice field there if the kids want to run around or have a picnic with your newly bought items. Parking is ok. The volunteers were helpful with parking tho and explaining protocol in terms of social distancing.

Hudson Valley Dessert Company in Saugerties, NY is a popular spot for those with a sweet tooth. Visitors rave about the delightful selection of treats, including raspberry thumbprint cookies, chocolate-coated shortbread, and biscotti-like Mandelbrot. The bakery also offers savory options like egg and Asiago sandwiches with homemade sausage. Customers appreciate the excellent service and cozy atmosphere at this charming bakery.
We recently had a wedding in the area and Hudson Valley Dessert Company was the perfect choice for our wedding cake and dessert. They provided an excellent level of service at the tasting, conducting delivery, and throughout the process. We wanted to do a unique cake and the bakers were thrilled with the opportunity to flex their creativity and skills. They worked closely with our venue to ensure the logistics of the cake would work and we completely trusted that everything would go well. Our guests were so impressed by the cake and the other desserts. We had cannolis, pecan squares, and gluten free brownies. Everything was delicious. We found that we got really great value and highly recommend them for others looking to order their wedding cake from the area.

The tuna is delicious! You can get it as a quick grab 'n go or as a sandwich. Staff were so nice! There isn't much seating inside, but we were able to make it work for our big group!

One of my favorite places to have breakfast on a Saturday morning is The Hudson Valley Dessert Co. Connie and everyone at the bakery always put love into everything they make! This morning I got an egg and Asiago sandwich with avocado and homemade sausage that they make there! It was (and always is,) delicious! I got a cup of hazelnut hot chocolate to have with it! (Please forgive the half-a-sandwich photo. I was so ready to eat it, I forgot to take a photo of the whole sandwich. 😂)

HV Dessert Company created a wonderful birthday cake for me. The buttercream was delicious but not too sweet. The fillings of raspberry and lemon with vanilla cake were a perfect compliment. The outside decoration was elegant with tasty white buttercream flowers I so appreciate the time and energy Bella and the staff gave me to create something I would love. Thank you so much. Will see you again

We received a gift of 7 packs of biscotti, sent directly from the shop. I know the sender wanted to send us biscotti that we could enjoy! (We love good biscotti!) Unfortunately, these are the worst biscotti we have ever eaten. READ BELOW FOR OUR ASSESSEMENT OF EACH: - Orange Chocolate is the best of the 4 kinds we received because the consistency is most like a biscotti. I also like the orange flavor, but I don't taste chocolate at all. - Cranberry Walnut was pretty bland and a little too soft to be considered a biscotti. - Chocolate Chip Almond had the right consistency, but was ruined because of the added cinnamon sugar on top. If not for the sugar, they probably would be okay. - Chocolate Almond were way too hard and nearly flavorless. These are hard enough to break a tooth on. (Unfortunately, we received 4 packs of these). One other note. I didn't see expiration or "baked on" dates. So, I don't know how, or if, they are managing product in that way. I cannot recommend purchasing biscotti from this company. Perhaps their other desserts are exceptional but their biscotti are terrible. We will likely throw out all 7 packages. Photos of the full load and a photo of the biscotti with sugar on top.

The staff was nice. But when it came to the actual food. Ordered an egg sandwich with a bunch of extras: sausage + cheese + croissant. It took forever for the food to show up and resulted in this sad mess of a sandwich. They got everything wrong. And it wasn’t even tasty. I do not recommend this place.

Ulster Landing County Park

Park
Ulster Landing County Park is a beautiful park located by the river, offering a network of enjoyable paths through the surrounding woods. The trails are pleasing as they meander alongside the river while basking in the sun's gentle rays filtering through the trees, creating an enchanting ambiance. It gives off a dream-like feeling where one can easily lose themselves and escape reality. Additionally, there is a natural beach within the park, although swimming is prohibited.
Today Paul Sinnot’s team, Dave and John, arrived at 8 AM and completely installed my new Mitsubishi mini-split AC/heat system finishing by just after noon. It’s my second huge job from this company and I can’t praise them enough for their insightful expertise and cleanliness. A Fantastic Company I’ll use again. Thanks

This is a nice park by the river with a network of satisfying trails through the surrounding woods. What's so satisfying about the trails? Well, they wind by the river while the sun shines through the trees just so, creating a lovely dream-like atmosphere, and then you float off like an oversized butterfly. The moon grows ever larger, and as you approach it you shrink, so it just keeps getting bigger and farther away.
Mattie M — Google review
The place is scenic and beautiful looking. But there are theses extremely sharp black things near the water that break off when they get stepped on and can infect your foot or your dogs foot! And the grass made us feel like we got fiberglass on us
Hem C — Google review
Swimming is not permitted at the main beach, but it was possible on the side near the boat ramp. Very shallow water, but a very scenic spot and not crowded. Some boats, and some swimmers. Nice place for a picnic on a hot day.
Christi B — Google review
Great park honestly Ulster Landing is one of those places that just works for everything You’ve got chill views of the Hudson River and if you show up around sunset it kind of feels unreal like the whole place just slows down a bit The vibe is super laid back and it’s not overcrowded so it’s easy to just breathe and enjoy being outside The beach area is solid for summer days and the picnic tables with grills are actually really nice if you're planning to eat outside It’s also lowkey perfect for church events Whether it’s a group hangout or something more organized it has enough space to make it work without feeling awkward or cramped There’s a playground if you’ve got younger siblings or cousins tagging along and if you're into kayaking or boating they’ve got a launch area too Parking is usually not a problem and the bathrooms are what you’d expect for a park nothing fancy but they get the job done One time I saw a squirrel dragging a whole slice of pizza across the grass like it was on a mission so yeah even the wildlife makes this place memorable Definitely recommend it for a day trip a group event or just some time to zone out in nature

Pizza restaurant
Village Pizza & Restaurant is a family-owned establishment that has been serving delicious pizzas with a variety of toppings for 40 years. In addition to their signature dish, they also offer catering services and have a large party room that can accommodate up to 60 people. Customers have raved about the quality of their food, from pasta dishes like penne alla vodka and chicken Alfredo to appetizers such as mozzarella sticks and garlic knots.
Village Pizza in Saugerties is amazing! Coming from a 30-year NYC veteran and a picky pizza eater, this place truly impressed me. I had a small pie delivered, and it was fantastic. The crust was perfectly crispy, the flavors were rich, and you could tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Delivery was quick, and the pizza arrived hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

The pizza is really, really good. I had the Sicilian cheese, and it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Their sauce was perfect, and the cheese was stringy.

Called the first time to ask if they delivered because online it says they do so does the reviews. Im an out of town truck driver and this was the only food spot will delivery around. A girl answered and she said they do then asked how far I was and I said nvm my maps is showing you guys are 25miles away then I hung up. ( Im a trucker for context ) I realized I was actually 8min away 2.5miles in distance but my mapped glitched on the original call and said 25miles. So I called back & some guy answered and lied/said that they dont deliver. I never leave bad reviews ever but this was horrible customer service.

I love their chicken Alfredo specialty pizza was very creamy and delicious, kinda tasted like Olive Garden Alfredo! There plain wasn’t that great I think the cheese or sauce ratio is off it’s very greasy. The margarita pizza need a bit more mozzarella.

What a pleasant surprise! We were relaxing in Saugerties for Valentines and opted to order from here instead of going out for dinner. Their chicken Alfredo and penne alla vodka were amazing! The garlic knots and garlic bread were also super good. Portions are very generous.

Very disappointed in the price, and they didn’t give us ranch dressing, and the pizza’s were well done. The Village Diner, located in Saugerties, is a popular spot known for its delicious wraps like the Ranchero and Santa Fe wrap. In addition to wraps, the menu also offers burgers and various specials. The diner opens at 6 a.m., providing an ideal place for breakfast or early morning meals. Visitors praise the fresh and tasty food options as well as the friendly staff. The diner exudes a traditional quaint atmosphere that adds to its charm.
Good old fashioned down to earth Diner experience... Very welcoming, even when we came in close to closing and were the last ones there..... Happily nswered questions we had about some ingredients due to some food allergy concerns. Good food and service. Will definitely return!

A tip should be based on customers satisfaction. U shouldn't say u have under tipping. The cashier asked for tip and he was reminding the tip is low the waitress works hard for that. I understand that but if I feel the service of the waitress is not as I expected and she is not even serving with smile should I go for big tip? The food was good as well as the environment but I didn't like the way the manager and my waitress treated my family.

Beautiful old Diner Maybe 1950's everything inside looks original, service was great from the waitress on the left side of the diner and bus boy was very pleasant. Our waitress unfortunately wasn't so nice but we stayed because we enjoy eating at random old diners. Food was delicious will definitely go again someday!! I got the hungry man dish with 3 eggs over easy, 2 pancakes with 2 toasts, 1 sausage, 1 ham, a glass of water and a cup of coffee and my wife had the all American breakfast dish very good food!!

I know I've been here before, thought I did a review, but I guess not, so here we are! The Village Diner meets my ideal criteria for a diner: small, family owned, authentic, unfussy, high quality, clean. Yep. This place has it all... My omelet was huge (just the way I like them) and loaded with fresh ingredients. Cooked perfectly too. The home fries were well done (as I like) and with the added onions, fantastic. Bacon was crispy. English Muffin was decent too. I forget how much I spent but it was reasonable. Service was fast and friendly. This place is like 3.5 hours from home but since I'm up this way frequently, it's on my must-visit breakfast spots. If you like classic American diner food, you won't be dissapointed!

Great diner experience with a menu as thick as a book. If you can't find something you like turn a page. Server was great.

Typical Diner with large menu. Lunch, dinner and senior specials. Very friendly and attentive staff. I'm not local but the waitresses seem to know the regulars. It's nice to see a everyone happy to see one another. You never go to a diner for gourmet level food. However, so many options, plenty of comfort food choices. You can never go wrong with most diners , always huge portions for a great price. I would recommend.
Preston A — Google review
I find it hard to critique some establishments because I come with a preconceived notion of what they will be like. Village Diner exceeded my expectations. I gave it three stars because the food was just ordinary in flavor, quality, and presentation. The menu was huge, and my mother in law really wanted a quesadaia, but we could not find one in the dozen page menu. So, my mother in law simply asked, and they severed her an amazing looking and reasonable tasting quesadaia. The prices we very good. My zeti parm came with Brussel sprouts, a salad, and pie and was only $13. This is a nice quaint place that exceeded my expectations but I most likely will not return, unless my mother in law requests this place because if I am going to go out to eat, I want something more than ordinary.

Sue's is a spacious and family-friendly Italian restaurant and bar that offers a delightful array of classic Italian dishes. While the lively atmosphere, enhanced by numerous TVs, can make conversations challenging, it’s perfect for families and groups looking to enjoy a meal together. The generous portions come at reasonable prices, complemented by friendly and efficient service. Owner Fred often mingles with guests, adding a personal touch to the experience.

The pizza was 4 out of 10. This pizza was a cheese pizza and it was like a sauce pizza, and the over all thickness felt like 6inch, horrible. Some slices were 40% cheese barely any cheese.

This is a cavernous, family friendly, bar/Italian restaurant with very good, basic Italian dishes. Like most such bar/restaurants, it has too many *&^%$$%^ TVs so it can be a bit loud for a conversation but great for kids and groups. Portions are generous, prices are modest, the service friendly and fast and the owner, Fred, is usually there to make sure everything is as it should be or to argue local politics. I has some of the best linguini with white clam sauce I've ever had outside Little Italy in Greenwich Village. One of our local regulars haunts.

Great day celebrating Gene's 75th! Fred Costello and crew did a great job. Food and service all wonderful!! Thank you for making his day special!!
Donna G — Google review
We have been eating at Sues for over 20 years. In the past two years it seems that the business is slipping. I'm not sure if they just don't have the drive in it like they used to but it's been very spotty while dining here. Tonights burnt pizza is just one issue, to allow it to leave the kitchen like that? The chef that made it couldn't tell it was slightly overdone? We will continue to keep trying it out hoping that it gets better, but we won't visit as often as we did. This is the second time in 3 months time that we had issues with food quality and in the past 2 years we have noticed service getting slower and not as attentive as well. I'm a lifelong Saugerties resident and hope that it's just a fluke but Sues make notice of the issues as it's being talked about in town and we hate for that to happen to a long time area business.

Sue’s accommodated our club dinner and although the service was a bit slow, everything came out on point and delicious. I had a fantastic Cobb salad and munched away with superbly grilled chicken and the eggs were unbelievable…didn’t know food could be so excitable especially since they make their own pasta! Everything was so fresh!! 😆thanks to everyone for a great night out! Hopefully we will be back!

Shopping
Saugerties Antiques Center is a charming spot in the town, offering an array of unique and quirky items for antique enthusiasts. The shop features estate jewelry, fine art, luxury bags, vintage furniture pieces, and other collectibles dating back a hundred years. Visitors can expect to find an eclectic mix of vintage vinyl records and unusual items throughout the store. While some may find the prices to be on the higher side, others appreciate that each item is fairly priced based on its value.
Great shop! As someone who buys and resells AND collects lots of mid century vintage items, display is priced accordingly. For those who think that this place is overpriced, you may not know how to price items. Everything in the stores fairly priced according to what it’s worth. The staff was Friendly and the store was fairly large.

Went here for the first time yesterday with my wife with no purchasing intent as we were killing time before meeting with a friend. We ended up purchasing a glass display cabinet and a wood hutch cabinet for our kitchen. They have amazing items that are very unique, in all kinds of price ranges. Some very rare things that I’ve never seen in person anywhere else, too! We have had our sights on items like the ones we purchased for a long time, and aside from great pricing, they offered delivery for a reasonable fee. That was the deal-maker for us because I have a small car. I can’t wait to behold my items when they’re delivered! I’ll definitely be back for more.

SPAF

Event venue
SPAF, short for the Saugerties Performing Arts Facility, is a versatile venue located in the Village of Saugerties. Housed in a building with an interesting history as the former 'Liquidators Building,' it offers a 1,000 square foot space that can be transformed to suit various events. The facility boasts an industrial-chic vibe and is praised for its open and airy atmosphere. It has hosted elegant weddings as well as more casual gatherings, offering both indoor and outdoor ceremony options.
This location is a vintage industrial composition notebook factory building from the early 1900’s. Converted into a venue, its massive 14,000 square foot is over the top spacious. Although I thought that this building’s interior and exterior needs some minor changes, it makes up in rustic charm and its exemplary staff. The rear landscaping was aesthetically pleasing and full of photo ops for a multitude of different event types. I was there for a wedding ceremony and reception. Both the food taste and presentation was definitely worthy of note and better than what I had expected. Please note that the food is served family style. The chicken entree was very tasty, but their steak was excellent. I also enjoyed an array of very tasty appetizers from meatballs to sliders to mini chicken and waffles. I met with Erika (manager?), Josh (supervisor?), the head chef and several other wait staff members. All of which couldn’t be any friendlier. Spacious parking with sizable bride and groom suites both on opposite ends of the building. The grooms suite was nothing short of a super “man cave”! All in all, this was a worthy venue capable of providing all your event service needs.

We had our wedding at SPAF on the most beautiful October day! Josh has put so much effort into SPAF. The space is gorgeous, with an industrial but also rustic vibe. The outdoor space is also spectacular, with numerous options for ceremony locations. On site there is a bridal suite and a groom's suite with early access to the venue for getting ready. Josh met us multiple times for site visits, was at the venue on the day of the wedding from sunrise until after the event was over to make sure the venue looked fantastic and making sure everything ran smoothly. He was very accommodating for our requests to make sure the day was spectacular. Our guests all raved about the venue and the food. Thank you so much Josh & SPAF staff, you guys are wonderful!

Enjoyed a beautiful wedding. Venue is stunning during fall. The entire space was a warehouse and it has really great vibes. Such a fun space. Food was good, bars were busy and decent. The decor was beautiful. Everything about this was just stunning. Such a great night -so happy to have visited this beautiful location.

This venue was the perfect location for my baby shower! We were searching for a unique venue that was not the typical banquet hall setup. When we stumbled upon this masterpiece I knew it fit my style completely ! Joshua went above and beyond making sure each one of my requests were met! Everything came out perfect and my guests could not compliment everything enough. I’m looking forward to hosting another event at this beautiful place.

Look no further for the perfect venue for your wedding. I could not be any happier for choosing SPAF for my wedding. The indoor and outdoor spaces give you plenty of options for pictures and/or ceremony spots. SPAF is chic, industrial, charming, and romantic with its brick walls and high ceilings. They have seperate cozy spaces for the groomsmen and bridesmaids. I immediately fell in love when I saw the bridal suite with its two rooms. The bridal oasis has its own kitchen and even another room to use for hair & makeup with salon chairs. The groomsmen space is huge with everything you need and more..ping pong table, barber chair, etc. Joshua is attentive and responded quickly to any questions I had. My guests spoke so highly of Joshua, the staff, food, and the overall venue and its charm! Thank you SPAF for an unforgettable experience!

My husband and I are very happy we chose to have our wedding at SPAF! It's such a charming and romantic space - from the hanging lights and industrial nature of the inside, to the large outdoor space that feels enchanted, and lush with nature. Joshua was a wonderful coordinator, and helped us have an incredible ceremony - and so many guests complimented us on the unique venue we chose. The entire staff was warm and welcoming as well. Book them, you won't be disappointed!
Rebecca F — Google review
SPAF is an awesome venue. Between the fun history (it was a composition notebook factory!), the "industrial chic" vibe, and the beautifully landscaped grounds, it really has it all. Also great options for both outdoor and indoor ceremonies, so you've got your rain contingency covered. Erica, the owner and doer-of-all-things, was the best to work with. She event set up a special curtained area for our ceremony so that we could appear from behind it rather than processing up the aisle. The caterer she works with, Chef Chris, is awesome as well and the food was absolutely delicious. Erica is constantly improving the grounds so I imagine there are even more wonderful creations to behold than when we were there. As soon as it's safe to gather again I hope this wonderful business can reopen, I can't recommend Erica and SPAF highly enough!

I love SPAF! The space has an amazing industrial meets chic vibe – very open and airy. I have been to several events and the space can be transformed to meet the needs of the affair – from an elegant and sophisticated wedding space to a contemporary urban/industrial ambience for more casual events. Servers and bartenders presented well in both appearance and provided excellent customer facing interactions. The food was well prepared and pleasing in appearance and taste, with a wide variety of options. The location has tons of parking and is handicapped accessible. Highly recommend it.

Park
Tina Chorvas Waterfront Park is a serene and picturesque spot located along Esopus Creek in the charming riverside town of Saugerties, Upstate New York. The park offers a tranquil setting for a leisurely stroll or a romantic kayaking adventure with your partner. Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the area while admiring sailboats and kayaks lining the creek.
I’m sitting with Norton The Dog, looking out across Tina Chorvas Water Front Park. Sail boats and kayaks of many colors line the Esopus Creek. Hazy Summer afternoons, in The Hudson Valley!
Beth S — Google review
This is a small but pleasant Park on the Esopus creek. There are some picnic tables, a grassy area, and a kayak launch. It's a hand carry from the parking lot. You can't backup from a boat ramp, but it's not too bad of a carry. When you turn left from the boat launch, it's a short paddle to the waterfall and Dam. You would not be able to access this view from another location. Then we kayaked out out past the marina, to the old lighthouse (now a State Park) on the left, then upstream into the Hudson River. The current was not strong, and it was easy to paddle. There was one barge coming down but we stayed far away, and there was no other boat traffic. It made quite a pleasant afternoon. The launch gets deep very quickly, so we entered our boats by placing in parallel to the land so it was shallow.
Linda R — Google review
It's nice, close to where I live. Walking distance. Visitors should be more respectful and responsible with their trash.

When we visited this park, we found it to be really peaceful and clean. There are a few picnic tables that had been recently painted. Loved the atmosphere at this location.

New American restaurant
Rock Da Casbah in Saugerties is a popular restaurant known for its impeccable service and delicious dishes. The menu offers a variety of options, from perfectly cooked burgers to mouth-watering Asian wings. The short rib sandwich and freshly cut fries are particularly noteworthy. The gastropub has a groovy vibe with artwork and decor paying homage to classic rock legends, as well as furniture made from electric guitars. It also offers vegan-friendly options and sixteen beers on tap.
Stopped in for a beer while walking around town. What a beautiful place! Brick, lighting, a tin ceiling, friendly staff, and an extensive cocktail and beer menu. I had a local pumpkin ale that was good. I hope to be back before heading out of town.

Always excellent! Great vibe and delicious, creative food with a great wine selection. Live music and great local art! 10/10 must go. We love the Magic Mushrooms.
Aly O — Google review
Loved this place! We had wings and loaded fries as an app which were both great. We got chicken Alfredo and fried chicken for our main course which were also great- chicken was cooked very well. I had a mocktail which was awesome for someone who doesn’t drink anymore! And an amazing caramel cheesecake to top it off. On top of that all, one of the servers ran out with my disposable camera that I left behind (which pictures from our proposal on it) so 5 stars all around!!!

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The waitress was awesome. She was so friendly, and she immediately made you feel welcomed and at home. The soup was to die for, but nothing prepared me for the fried chicken. It was beyond anything I've ever had before. It was outrageously good. Crispy. Tasty. Everything anyone who loves homemade fried chicken could ever dream of. In a word, this place rocks. Be sure to go there for the music, food and the warm atmosphere.

We were told to go here for great food while in town. Not only were the burgers we ordered cooked to perfection, the service was phenomenal as well. Our waitress made sure our food was up to par when delivered, while checking in with us every chance she had. Superb food, remarkable service. A total 5/5.

Coffee shop
Long-running chain serving signature breakfast items & a variety of coffee drinks.
This D&D location is on rt 32 in Saugerties ny. The parking lot is large clean and safe. The counter employee's were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and yummy. Great job to the employees and owners who keep me smiling and full. Gerry
Gerald D — Google review
The place has cockroaches and when confronted the night clerk was met with unprofessional conduct and conflict. Nothing like making an unpleasant experience even worse. It would probably be a better experience staying in the parking lot.
Jim M — Google review
Most are pleasant, attentive and well mannered. Though recently ( since the re-opening) there is a charming female with a negative attitude and quite possibly personal vendetta, against some loyal customers. It's been obvious to other customers that sit with breakfast and observe as well.
Denise W — Google review
I ordered two iced coffees. It was as if the staff didn’t know if they were working at the counter or the drive through. Went to the car and the lid kept popping off. Went back in to get a new lid. Waited, and waited at the counter with no one even acknowledging me. Finally a dude came close enough. Frustrated that I asked for help. Explained I just need a new lid. He grabbed one, then right in front of me he wiped the inside of the lid on his shirt, over his belly. Gross!!. I called him out on it. A second employee, young, blonde with piercings came up and started talking back to me, as if I am the problem for needing a new lid. While I put the lido , that she gave me, she continued about how I am a problem. Told her to not sass me, respect her elders and keep her mouth shut. She continued her loud talk back as I left. I only came in to get a lid, since mine was damaged. Glad I don’t live in that crappy place. Great coffee, rude people.

Went in the drive thru due to limited time and ordered my large hot tea. Got to the window and was handed a large cup to realize it was coffee. Was handed a different cup and drove off. Thankfully I went to try it before going through town as it was coffee still. Usually I don't mind such a mistake but several times in a row on a simple order is too much. Beyond which I went in to get it fixed was swiftly handed a different cup without a word or eye contact to which they walked away just as quickly. I know many of these workers are young, but some manners or even a quick sorry would have been nice, specially after screwing up a simple order more than once!
Ro C — Google review
I saw the one employee put her fingers inside my cup to view the order sticker! So disgusting, unsanitary and unacceptable! She should know better working in food service especially at the drive thru where customers can see you. I wonder how many times she has done that and acted like its not a big deal...

Deli
Sandwich shop
Nestled on Partition Street, Brine Barrel is a delightful stop for pickle enthusiasts and those craving savory treats. This charming shop offers an array of pickles, including half-sour, dill, and sour varieties that are simply irresistible. Visitors rave about the quality of their deli sandwiches made with top-notch meats and cheeses—perfectly complemented by Matt's homemade sweet hot horseradish.
What a charming place, with delicious food, that felt like it was from the past! I got subs, and three containers of fresh pickles. Great homemade pickles (I got the dill, the sour, and the sweet horseradish). Extremely fresh sub sandwiches on delicious non-squishy bread. Felt like a blast from the past, in a good way!

Brine Barrel special $15. He made sure to tell me this sandwich is 2 sandwiches in 1. Got half way thru when I realized he forgot my onion, hot peppers, and vinegar. He also forgot my pickle which I asked for on the way out the door and is included with every sandwich. The place is empty and non inspiring. You really need to be on your game for a $15 sandwich in an empty store with no customers. With all that being said this sandwich was excellent but you pay for it. If this is a double I’m scared to see a single ✌️ ***found 2 banana pepper rings in the last bite

Me and my friend were so pleasantly surprised by this sandwich shop in Saugerties! The photos don’t do the sandwich justice. Everything is so fresh, cut and assembled right in front of us by the owner🤌 We wish that we got a few more to go for the rest of our drive!

Best sandwiches in town! The owner is a nice man who makes one hell of a sandwich. 10/10 definitely recommend :)

Brine Barrel a must try. Park right in front of the shop. Matt is really nice. He keeps busy makin those sandwiches!! The sandwiches are top noche!! Highest quality meats and cheeses. The pickles and olives are amazing , half sours are my favorite. Matt the owner also has Sweet hot Horsradish which tastes amazing on homemade Burgers!! I drive 45 minutes to eat lunch at this place when I can. I usually get the Pastrami on Rye, with swiss and thousand island dressing lightly toasted. Ohhh man it is to die for!! Matt also has a menu filled with specialty sandwiches. Including the old world. The old World is my husbands favorite!! The italian sub is both my daughters favorites and he makes a mean plain Bolgna and cheese sandwich for my little guy 5yrs old. He doesn't skimp on the meats. Garlic Stuffed olives and olive Tapenade a kind of Olive salad that is great on a lot of things including plain ritz crackers. 😀 When ever we host parties or picnics we get party platters from Brine Barrel including the Pickle/ Olive platters!! The Pickles EVERYONE LOVES!! Gotta try Brine Barrel if you are in the area. Check out the website for dates and times the shop is open. Seasonal hours and dates change. Just go!!!

This is not a McDonald's. It doesn't exist here. Unfortunate and I drove here after a 3 hour drive from the city just to find out if doesn't exist. There is a Dunkin open 24hrs. But that's it.

I ordered Quarter pounder cheese bacon burger at McDonald's in the rest area... and there no bacon in it, like literally. I feel ripped off and it's like ordering cheese burger but paying more comparing to other's people order I went with. Also the texture of the patty is actually burned and I'm only tasting mustard & ketchup that's already on it. I'm probably won't eat at that McDonald's rest area for a while. Also the recipient attached to box was hard to read like they were low on ink or something. 🥶 I'm giving 2 stars because I didn't get bacon in the burger I wanted which would be automatic 1 star but adding it's only 1 person working in there since I feel sorry for them working alone at night. ⭐️⭐️
Oof — Google review
Ordered strawberry and chocolate shake and also a large fries. Strawberry shake machine was broke the manager was quick to refund the charge. Food quality and service consistent with McDonald’s standards. Will definitely go back when we return to this area.

This one was in a rest stop on NY Thruway (rt 87) north just south of Albany. Plenty of parking. What struck me at first was how spotless and clean it was. A cheerful woman behind the counter greeted me and took my order. It took a few minutes but I guess they cooked it to order. No complaints there! The burger was as expected. The restroom was equally clean. A very pleasant experience.

The Woodstock Artists Association & Museum is a cultural institution that has been showcasing the creations of artists from the area since 1916. The museum features various galleries that exhibit multiple artworks simultaneously, promoting local talent and reinforcing the identity of the region as an 'arts colony.'
Attended a lecture today, my first but not my last visit to this local resource for artists, students, residents and visitors. I hope more schools and home schooling families visit the Indigenous Artist / Art .

First time in Woodstock. We loved the city itself, even out of season, but this museum added impressions of the city. Amazing pieces of art from local artists 🙌🏻
Tany Y — Google review
The staff at this venue are helpful and very accommodating and the layout of the museum is very open, which offers very accommodating ateas for artwork to be displayed. However, I think a better job of marketing their local artists could be achieved which in turn would increase local media coverage for them. I have attended two local art shows here and both seemed under attended, despite very heavy foot traffic in the downtown area and the public parking lots, which were packed.
Fran M — Google review
WAAM was, and is, extremely important to me as an artist. It was my first foray into exhibiting, and becoming an active member was a huge milestone for me. I continue to enjoy the shows, and the opportunity to exhibit with great artists from the region. The Focus shows, in particular, have raised the bar for exciting exhibitions. And the events/intakes are a great opportunity to schmooze with the art community of the region. This organization does so much to improve the lives of the community.

Intimate space filled with exciting art work...out of the box and fascinating. Worth a trip to Saugerties to take in this fabulous gallery.

I have participated as a poet collaborating with painter Ellen McKay in two shows of Art and Poetry at the Emerge Gallery. The results of artists and poets inspiring each other are especially exciting and inventive in the current exhibition which will run until April 30. I was very pleased by the high quality and variety of both the artworks and the poetry. The Emerge Gallery is well worth a visit any month for the excellence and imaginative displays of two and three dimensional art and for the range and affordability of the prices.

Robert Langdon has opened an authentic space for art on Saugerties' main street. The energy, the taste and the work are just what he promises--new, honest and serious art from the Valley and the city. Because the work is alive and current as well as honestly priced, Bob is right that this is where you might find that next great piece for yourself or even spot a trend-maker who may be on his/her way to changing how our world can be seen! (BTW, ask him to see his own photography, inspiring)

Owner at this store yelled and screamed at my mother-in-law for accidentally knocking over a flower pot today. He also brought my nine year old daughter to tears from his actions. I wouldn’t spend a dime of my hard money in this store.
Dr F — Google review
This is an amazing store. The negative review had nothing to do with the business or how wonderful the owners are. The framing is awesome and so many gifts to choose from.
Claire Z — Google review
Place did a great job on what is to me a treasured picture. The attempted hit piece reviews by the woman driver and her relatives I’d suggest taking into account the spirit it was written in and discount them completely.

Lovely shop! Filled with cute little pieces, well priced. Wish there were a couple of more options though to choose from, less clothes, and more housewares would be awesome.

Fun store, very clean and organized. I learned that a spiral staircase will trigger my vertigo lol. The person behind the counter was nice, fun and welcoming to everyone who came in. I'm not a normie, and I get judged by my appearance frequently by normies, so when someone treats me the same as everyone else in the store, I take notice. There is a lot of good stuff here, just wasn't what I was looking for that day. Will be back many more times I am sure! Thanks for being rad!

Cafe
Stopped at Olsen & Company on the way to Hudson and couldn't be happier! Their sandwiches are straightforward but incredibly delicious. The cafe itself is charming, with a friendly owner and a wide variety of craft beers. It's a delightful spot that offers organic food options, including milk, yogurt, and cheese for sale. While you have to order at the cashier rather than at your table, the atmosphere exudes relaxation and positivity.
Lovely quaint cafe nested in the heart of Saugerties, NY. Outside seating (3 tables), dog friendly, exposed brick loft style cafe with excellent food offerings. I had eggs our way. Fresh greens, (no iceberg) nuts, pesto and balsamic dressings eggs sunny side up! Was so good I'm thinking a coming back for lunch later. Also the coffee is great which isn't always the case with cafes that have good food I've discovered. Ordered a flat white with oat milk. Love this place .. looking forward to my next visit.

I love Olsen and company for many reasons but the biggest one is the Itty Bitty breakfast sandwich. I prefer it with scrambled eggs but it’s good either way. It’s so simple but perfect. Their coffee is also very good. Try bitty plus a cortado is a must.
Susan M — Google review
Cutest local coffee shop with cozy rustic vibes. Tried their salad and Itty bitty sandwich. Both delicious!
Madsison O — Google review
Just stopped in for a coffee but both mine & my wife’s were delicious! Plenty of seating & everyone was very nice! Also very fair with their pricing & they’re dog friendly which is always a plus.

We found this place as a pit stop going to Kaaterskill Falls. I love the vibe and atmosphere of this place. They use fresh and organic ingredients. I ordered The Meat & Cheese, I chose the creamy burrata with prosciutto, mark’s kitchen pesto (they sell this too) & evoo served on ciabatta. I LOVED IT!! So speechless. My husband ordered The Lox this has smoked salmon in it, couldn’t find this on the menu anymore. I had a taste too and loved it! I also loved the latte I ordered. Will definitely be back if ever I’m in the area.

Made a pit stop here on the way to Hudson and we’re so glad we did! They have pretty basic sounding sandwiches, but they were really (really) good!! The place is super cute, the owner was sweet and of course the food we ate was on point. They also have a really great selection of craft beers.
Hannah C — Google review
Eclectic selection of cold beverages- non alcoholic plus beer and wine if you like. Had the Burrata with prosciutto and house-made pesto. Excellent burrata. The prosciutto was a little chewy. Dining partner had the Gruyere grilled cheese with ham and the peach tomato jam. Super tasty. Cool atmosphere. Very relaxing and laid back. We lucked out with this random choice while on vacation.

This is amazing. The experience is amazing and I can also meet with my friend who works here. I recommend the lemon zest yogurt. It’s basically creamy delight to me! I could eat here all day

Bar & grill
Nestled beneath a charming sign featuring a plump pig, The Pig Bar & Grill is a cozy pub that has become a beloved hangout for locals. Known for its inviting atmosphere and friendly service, this spot offers enticing weekly specials like Mussel and Martini Mondays and $6 burger nights on Wednesdays. With an extensive menu available until the late hours of 12:45 a.m., it’s perfect for those looking to cap off their evening with delicious food.
Went for dinner and drinks. The food was delicious we had smoked trout and muscles for the apps. The trout was amazing and melt in your mouth. I had the stake sandwich with mac n cheese. My husband had a burger and fries both were delicious and cooked perfect. We each had 2 martinis mine dirty. Everything was great. We went early enough so it wasn't busy we sat right down. It was getting busy as we were leaving which was 8ish. Our sever was nice and attentive.
Rachael K — Google review
Food and service were great, but there was a lot of noise coming from the ceiling where we were sitting, like someone was fighting or something in an apartment upstairs? It was a lot of heavy thumps and bangs. Disrupted the feel of our experience and was kind of off-putting.

I got my bearded trimmed at Union Shave and lucky for us directly across the street was Pig Bar. My wife at the vegetarian burger and I the in house ground burger both with delicious hand cut French fries. My wife had the NY Cheese Cake and me the vanilla chocolate With cherry frozen desert. Great music and atmosphere. Pleasant service.
Walter D — Google review
The food here is always spot on! They have the best fish and chips, as well as the poke bowls. String beans fries are so yummy! Yellowtail, burgers, mussels are also favorites! It would be great to open up the place and create a more lounge atmosphere there. It's one of our favorite places for food!
Urban G — Google review
Good vibes and delicious late night food after Fourtet played in Palenville ~they even had some vegan options for my bestie💚 They have the full menu available until around 11pm! She had an Asian tofu dish and I had a chicken quesadilla. We shared buffalo cauliflower wings as a starter. We pigged out at pigs. Our waitress was super nice. Space felt historic and maybe even haunted.
Marissa F — Google review
The food isn't bad but the service was a little slow. Love the environment. The music was fun and it wasn't crowded. There were only maybe two other people.
The J — Google review
Had my husband’s birthday dinner here and it was terrific! Attentive service, a great bottle of wine and the food was sensational! Portions are generous and all the flavors were there in the perfect proportion. I would definitely recommend a few meals here.
Penny F — Google review
Nice restaurant with reasonable price and good food quality! We ordered mussels and it was tasty! The missing star is for the interior space which was too dark in my opinion!

Mexican restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Saugerties, Main Street is a vibrant culinary haven that invites you to indulge in an array of mouthwatering Mexican dishes and creative cocktails. The restaurant boasts a cozy pub-like atmosphere, complete with charming wooden booths and a long bar that exudes warmth and friendliness. Diners can embark on a flavorful journey with standout offerings like the blackened chicken burrito or the delectable black angus chimichurri flank steak.
Busy spot, but packs a punch with flavor. The staff were friendly and seemed to enjoy their job. It has an open kitchen, which added to the atmosphere making it entertaining and fun as we sat at the bar until our table was ready. I had the Skinny Rita and the Cheesy Chicken. Both tasted phenomenal. Definitely worth the wait.

We stopped in for lunch and the food was really good! Good size portion for the price. The service was good too.

Highly recommend if you're in the area! This place has a festive, open, and warm atmosphere that sets the scene for some delicious American-Mexican food. The portions are generous, and the menu is broad—even featuring a lasagna special that's worth trying, though not Mexican. The service was very good even on a busy Saturday night. Whether you're solo at the bar, grabbing a table outside, or sitting inside with a group, there's a spot for everyone. Enjoy your time here!

What’s a good place to get a nice meal. Passing through the area after a little sightseeing. I was debating if I should go back to Woodstock to have early dinner as I was there yesterday. But decided to stay around here. After seeing “Main Street” reviews, so I just give them a try. They didn’t disappoint! The waitress and helpers are very friendly. Got some recommendations for drink and entree from the sweet waitress. Everything was very good. Price is also very fair. Wish I live closer. Thank you for a good meal.

We stopped in for an early 5 PM dinner on the weekend of the garlic festival. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. Main Street offers a carafe of frozen Margarita that is a really good value at only $20. The guacamole and chimichangas were very good. We would definitely go again.

MAIN STREET RESTAURANT Wondered in to see Rhianna and Jorge, after the Christmas festivities in Saugerties. Place was jamming and had a lot of reservations. Made it quick with an order of wings. In and out, as quick as I could. Wings were top notch. Crispy and extra saucy. The mango habanero was spicy and sweet. Chips and salsa were also great. Salsa was spicy just how I like it. I have never been disappointed with any meal I’ve had there. 10% off with VIP Card

This tiny restaurant has the WORST atmosphere of all our local restaurants. It’s basically a super loud BAR with decent food. Totally crowded and they cram everyone in to every available space while you’re eating near a loud bar with drunken guests. ( BTW, it’s NOT authentic Mexican food, it’s Guatemalan food, a little strange if you’re expecting Mexican. ). It is good food but you cannot hear your guests talking across the table. Prices are somewhat reasonable and the portion sizes are good. For real Mexican food & nice atmosphere, it’s worth the drive to Kingston to the Casa Villa on Albany Ave.

Red Onion is a charming New American restaurant located in a historic farmhouse, offering a menu filled with locally sourced dishes and original cocktails. The warm and intimate ambiance of the place has been recently refreshed, receiving praise for its new look and lighting. Customers have raved about the delicious food, excellent service, and well-crafted cocktails. Even when faced with delivery mishaps, the staff at Red Onion went above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
This is a cozy and inviting restaurant. The staff is kind and attentive. The food was amazing. We had the French Onion Soup, Skirt Steak, and Chicken Breast- which had a tarragon sauce and was easily one of the best sauces I've ever tasted. I can't belive we've passed this place for years and only just visited.

A Beautiful setting in an old House. Beautiful Atmosphere. A wide variety of choices on the Menu. Great Cocktails. We enjoyed the dinner. I recommend you try this place out. Service is good. You must try the Octopus! And the Calfs Liver is well prepared.

Tasty inventive food. My scallops with corn chowder was out of this world. The lamb chops were super yummy. The shrimp ceviche appetizer alternative hit all the right spots. The Manhattan and whiskey sour were perfect. Love half bottles of wine, which we had as well We were too full for desserts, but they looked fantastic. The only thing that was not perfect about the whole night was that the people who had the table before us overstayed their time way too long. Really dislike discourteous self indulgent diners! The host found us another table and comped our drinks and was so nice about the whole thing.

Food was absolutely incredible. Atmosphere is inviting and intimate. Drinks are amazing. It’s always a treat to have dinner here every time we’re in Woodstock.

The food in this restaurant was amazing, great flavors with awesome presentation. The fish was cooked to perfection and artichoke as an appetizer was delicious. Highly recommending visiting this place!

We had an outstanding experience at The Red Onion in the Woodstock area! The service was top-notch, and the food was absolutely delicious. I started with The Red Onion Caesar salad and had the Long Island duck breast as my entrée—both were perfection. My mom enjoyed the roasted beet and arugula salad and the Roasted Bell & Evans chicken breast with mashed potatoes and gravy, which she raved about. The margarita was very good, perfectly complementing our meal. For dessert, we had the Italian-style ricotta cheesecake, and it was also very good. Highly recommend!

Our recent dining experience at The Red Onion Restaurant & Bar was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a beautiful space exuding warmth and elegance. The attentive service throughout the evening added to the overall enjoyment. Starting off with cocktails, each sip was crafted to perfection. The Thai mussels were incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. The scallops, cooked to a buttery perfection, paired wonderfully with the creamy risotto. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the steak, cooked medium rare and complemented by a rich, flavorful sauce. Every bite was a delight! Overall, The Red Onion exceeded my expectations in every aspect. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in the Woodstock area.

We have been dining at The Red Onion since it opened around 2002. Until now, I've always appreciated the great service and delicious food. My friends and I had a 5:30 reservation at a very busy, upscale restaurant. The service during dinner was outstanding and our food was very good. We ordered after dinner drinks which took a little while to get. The hostess placed the bill on the table while we were still enjoying them. She stopped twice and we told her we were not finished quite yet. The third time she came over and said "we need this table"!!! At no time during the reservation process or upon arrival were we told our time at the table would be limited. Being rushed out after a full dinner, drinks, a tab around $300, and as long time, loyal customers was humiliating and embarrassing for us and even for our great server. It is unacceptable to treat guests this way. The hostess apologized when she saw that we were upset. It was not sincere. Although it won't matter whatsoever, I will never return. I have dined all over the world and have never been asked to leave a restaurant. A fine dining experience should never end with guests feeling pushed out the door.
