Richmond in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in Richmond, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Richmond, Kentucky offers a mix of small-city charm and significant history, anchored by the well-preserved Battle of Richmond Civil War battlefield and a historic downtown with 19th-century architecture. Visitors can enjoy outdoor recreation at Lake Reba, which features walking trails, fishing, and family-friendly amenities. As home to Eastern Kentucky University, the city also hosts cultural events, sports, and performances throughout the year. Its location just south of Lexington makes it a convenient base for exploring central Kentucky’s horse and bourbon country.
With favorites like Battlefield Park, E. C. Million Memorial Park, and Chenault Vineyards, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Babylon Gyros and Jackson's Restaurant so you can get the best taste of Richmond while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Nestled along the picturesque Kentucky River, Fort Boonesborough State Park is a captivating destination that transports visitors back to the 18th century. This reconstructed colonial fort stands on the historic site of Daniel Boone's original settlement from 1775. Here, you can explore authentic blockhouses and log cabins furnished with period items that vividly illustrate life during frontier times. Skilled craftsmen in period attire engage guests with demonstrations of traditional crafts, offering a glimpse into the daily lives of early settlers.
Very cool place to visit! We accidentally went on the 250th anniversary of the original Fort Boonesborough. It was free that weekend, but i think it's normally $8 for adults. Very cool to see! They do have restrooms if anyone needs to know. They had vendors that still made things like they used to there, which you could buy some of the stuff from them. Very cool history to it. Even found a family member on one of the stones that was there when they first settled, so pretty cool!
Haleigh A — Google review
It's been a while since we have been to the fort, and decided to pay it a visit. The exhibits were very interesting and the reenactors were very knowledgeable. Despite the heat, there were areas available to cool off. An interesting bit of American history.
Lee B — Google review
Very cool place. I wish some of the exhibits weren't closed doors, storage areas, etc. would have been neat to be able to see inside all the little houses. They did shoot a musket while we were there which was fun!
Allison P — Google review
At this time is closed due to flooding. But is great to see named after Daniel Boone. Has 26 cabins if I counted them right. And in the corner of the fort it is two stories high with lookouts. You can hike short trails fish and camp. It is $8.00 adults and $6.00 children.
Wayne L — Google review
Fort was closed and most of the Park was closed and in need of serious repairs. We were able to see where Daniel Boone built cabins to start the settlement and later a small stone fort. Response to Owner's reply. We visited at 1300 on a Saturday. We estimated there were 10-cars parked in the lot in front of the fort. The fort gates were closed as was the small door to the left. We spoke to one couple who said they had toured the fort when the gate was open but were not sure why the gates were now closed. We did see someone who appeared to work at the Park when we drove to the other section and he confirmed the Fort should be opened. He drove over and came back to confirm the gate was closed but he was unsure why. It was still a nice stop but we had some miles to go.
CHAOSNCHECK T — Google review
I would give 5 stars if Madison Co would clean up the beach area. So much trash, limbs, over grown weeds. It's one of my favorites because of the nostalgia it holds from being a kid.
Angie H — Google review
I love it! I love the Fort and the attractions within the Park. The reenactments are SO GREAT! They are a must see! It is a great place to take a family, kids or go by yourself. Everyone that goes there will be alittle more knowledgeable then they were before. Don't miss out on a great experience
Amanda M — Google review
I’ve been taking my third grade classes to the fort for the past 18 years. We’ve always had a wonderful time and the interaction with the staff and actors was pleasant and informative. However, that was not the case today. There were very few actors there today and the ones who were there were not friendly (except for the woman who was the weaver. She was very nice). The woman who worked in the gift shop was very rude and snippy with our students and parents. I didn’t recognize her as someone I’d seen there before. The children were in no way acting unruly or misbehaving, yet she kept telling them to put things down and leave if they weren’t going to buy anything. My coteacher and I were in there by ourselves for a couple of minutes seeing what they had in order to let the kids know if there were rabbit furs and whatnot, and she tried to tell us we shouldn’t be there without our group. She also told three students who walked in with a parent that if they weren’t in a group of ten or more they needed to leave and get more people bc there should be groups of 10-15 at a time. We are a small school and the groups weren’t that big bc the other children hadn’t finished looking at the exhibits yet. However, when more kids came in, like she asked, she then proceeded to say that bc there were a lot of children they would need to be more patient and wait their turn in line. As I said, I’ve always been very happy with our field trips here, but this experience was unnecessarily unpleasant and the parents were noticeably upset by her rude behavior. I’m all about keeping order as a teacher, but to treat paying customers like this was unacceptable and unnecessary.

Glad we stopped for a visit. Beautiful historical home and story. Mathew gave us a short but very detailed summary during our visit even though it was not a guided tour. Went with another couple and sadly the four of us were the only ones there during the two hour visit.

Went on a Sunday afternoon with only two other people there. I’m so happy I went I learned so much about the estate, the people and some interesting historical facts! There is also a lake situated in front of Whitehall complete with a walking path. Please visit you will not regret it!

Very interesting tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Huge property.
Joshua W — Google review
There are a few miles of paved walking trails. The trails go through the woods behind the property and have nice views of the hills in Madison county. There is a large pond that is open to the public for fishing. Also had a small playground to keep the kids busy.
Matt H — Google review
I was back and forth on rather I was going to see this as I wasnt sure I would have time, but I ended up with some free time at the end of one of my days, so I did it. So glad I did wish I had been able to do the outside buildings, but it was so hot. But the house has been updated with ac which is nice, and I was the only person in the house other than the person checking you in. The house is self-guided the person checking you in lets you know if you have any questions feel free to ask them. I did all three floors, and it was very interesting they have several plaques telling you all about the people who lived here and that was nice to see also. They do have parking, bathrooms and allow you to take non flash pictures.
Sd S — Google review
Mathew was a fantastic tour guide!! Very knowledgeable about the history of the estate and its former occupants. Would highly recommend you to check it out! I think the self-guided tour option would have also been good but the guided version was far superior, in my opinion, and if you can schedule accordingly to make it for that, I'd say go for it.

E. C. Million Memorial Park is a charming city park that offers various amenities for visitors to enjoy. It features two tennis courts, two soccer fields, and a children's playground. The park has 17 parking spots and three covered areas available on a first-come, first-served basis. While pets are not allowed in the park, it provides well-maintained restrooms for visitors' convenience.
Small quiet park , located in the town of Richmond , KY . Nice trails , that are paved , approximately less than a mile , for the entire park , but can walk it numerous times . Scenic , a bridge , and numerous bird and squirrel feeders , give it a warm touch ! The lady inside , gave us some information about Mrs Million that was interesting .
Monique L — Google review
Says pet friendly!!! But once you get here says no pets allowed. Mine are in stroller and 7 lbs and 17. I'm responsible with my pets. Why isn’t everyone else? Some are good. Some are not. Example. Pickup your pets poop if it’s somewhere people are walking! Be considerate of others.
Teresa F — Google review
What a great little private park! E. C. Million Memorial Park. I guess some lady bought it in 1974 and donated it. There are 17 parking spots and 3 covered areas which right now are first come first serve. No pets are allowed it's only for people. There are restrooms inside but at the moment you can't go in there and sit down and lounge. It does not connect to the park behind it that is a completely separate entrance. I believe it's open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. unless there is bad weather, including strong winds! They have a bunch of bird feeders and a lot of squirrels. I will definitely be back 💜
Kris D — Google review
Very nice trails. Beautiful park. The restrooms are very well kept up and clean always. We come here a lot to take a nice little hike with the kids. The trails are mild, so not too difficult but they are very hilly. Beautiful Butterfly Garden here as well.
Amber V — Google review
Incredible little park with paved trails. There is a small climate controlled visitor center with restrooms.
Andrew H — Google review
Can’t take your dog even on leash and they had someone “policing” it - quick to jump out of the building as we were getting out of our car to tell us NO DOGS. The post online said pets welcome (I guess they have an area around Main Street that you can put your animal in to run, but cannot take them on a trail walk. Disappointing. Felt like others should know so they don’t do the same thing.
Tenille J — Google review
Worked with a couple of Scouts from troop 401 to do some cleanup after the floods brought some trash through the grounds. Beautiful park! Very well kept and wildlife friendly.
Michael L — Google review
The parking lots are very small. There were youth soccer games were going on and people were driving around looking for parking. Saw the same cars driving around and around. Not enough parking.

Gyro restaurant
Babylon Gyros is a small, streamlined eatery that specializes in Greek and Middle Eastern cuisine. Customers have expressed satisfaction with the quality of the food and its rich flavors. However, a few minor improvements could enhance the overall dining experience. One suggestion is to offer larger pitas, as some fillings tend to fall out due to their current size. Another recommendation is to address any dryness in the lamb while retaining its flavorful taste.
I loved it! I got the classic gyro combo and it was so good. The customer service was awesome! They were very kind and helpful and checked in at our table a few times. Definitely check this place out if you haven't yet!
Nathan P — Google review
First time going, I went for lunch. The prices may seem a little steep but you get what you pay for! It’s so delicious. I got the gyro combo (fries and a drink) it could feed two people. 10x better than a fast food gyro. It’s fresh and over all amazing.
Kelli M — Google review
Sorry for ruining the high review rate, but cant do it other way. The woman who works there is 10/10, really nice, smiling, helpful and hard working. Food is good, really large portions for a decent price. I would not say it was the beat gyro or shawarma i ate in my life, but definitely not bad. I gave 1 star for atmoshpere, because this place is so dirty..oh my lord. I decided to eat inside with my buddy, but when we looked around we kinda regret the decision. Place looks filthy..literally. I think those all 5 stars are coming from people who order delivery from that spot, or just taking out. Overall not the greateast experience, but definitely not need that much to be a great experience.
Huba L — Google review
I ordered the super gyro yesterday. It came with fries and a drink. Paid just under $20. The gyro was HUGE! So HUGE I had to eat it with a fork. The pita was fresh and the dipping sauce was also authentic, and fresh. Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. No complaints. I will be back.
Brandon C — Google review
I don’t think I’ll ever stop coming here to eat, I remember being a preteen and eating when they first opened and nothing has changed same people, same food, and same taste. By far if you’re familiar with Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean cuisine then it’ll Forsure be at the top in the region. Easily. 👏👏 100.00/10 S-rank
Alstin K — Google review
You know it's going to be good when you have handwritten menus! The spicy gyro was phenomenal, and easily the best gyro I've ever had! The amount of meat was more than twice what other places serve on one sandwich.
Matt S — Google review
Stopped in for the first time in about a year. First time since they remodeled. The food and service were both amazing. Between my family and I we had shwarma, falafel, and a couple of gyros. The main dishes and sides were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. We'll definitely be back and we won't wait a year this time!!
K C — Google review
Food is AMAZING and you get HUGE portions. I’m used to the Mediterranean restaurants in Lexington so I ordered 2 gyros, OMG one was enough for two meals for me. They had a steady stream of people coming in and ordering on DoorDash, so I had to wait for about 30 minutes for my food, but the worker was nice and apologized for the wait and gave me extra tzatziki free of charge. The food is worth it! I do agree with others that the building is old and dirty looking, and the buildings around it are condemned by the city, but again, food is worth it!

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Richmond, Jackson's Restaurant is a charming mom-and-pop diner that serves up hearty American comfort food. This family-owned gem is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, offering a delightful array of dishes like meatloaf and pork chops alongside mouthwatering breakfast platters featuring pork tenderloin meals and fluffy omelets. The inviting atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for families to gather over delicious southern classics such as biscuits with gravy and corned beef hash.
We were out and about on a random day date and found this little gem. It was well after standard breakfast hours but this place serves it all day as well as a hot bar and full menu. I had the corned beef has with fries egg and added sliced tomatoes. My husband had the Country breakfast and asked for peanut butter to put on his pancake. As we were checking out we were told since it was our first time we would receive free dessert. I chose the coconut cream pie and he got fried pies. The service was friendly and efficient and the food hot the spot. We will definitely be back.

First time here , and before sharing this review , have been back , 4 more times in two weeks ! The food bar is good , but the bacon cheeseburger is Awesome ! The staff is extremely kind , helpful and professional ! Great employees Small Town atmosphere , with cozy surroundings , and great food , who wouldn't want to go back numerous times !

This is such a good family owned restaurant, honestly probably one of my favorites in the state so far everything is home cooked, the restaurant was clean and the staff was very friendly.
Nate B — Google review
Placed a to go order an hour before closing, was told it would be 25 minutes. Got there within that time frame and when I walked in I wasn’t even greeted, the girl standing at the food bar looked up at me then back down as if she was bothered I came in. I told her I had a to go order and her demeanor changed a bit, but she was still very nonchalant. When we got home to eat, my boyfriend’s burger was literally falling apart as he was trying to eat. He also ordered it medium and it was well done. My son’s pancakes were also burnt. Never had a bad experience there but this one leaves me wondering if I want to go back. If you’re to stay open til a certain time, the same service needs to be provided til that time.
Sarah M — Google review
We stopped here for our 1st time and we will definitely go back if we get a chance. The breakfast and food bar were both good with almost endless options! They were a little slow getting food out, but did apologize for the wait. Also, a girl greeted us as we entered, however, did not tell us we could seat ourselves until we asked. Overall, highly recommend trying this place.

The park also boasts well-maintained playgrounds with ample equipment for children to enjoy.
The best public park in Richmond. The lake is quite beautiful and there is a pier than you can walk on. There are also trails that run in different directions across the parka and many recreational spaces nearby, from dog parks to water slides. There are also swings which were super fun.

Great park in the heart of Richmond, Ky. This park has something for all, pool, baseball, softball, soccer, golf, fishing, kayaking, play area, etc… Easily accessible for all well lit and clean restrooms. If you can go I would highly recommend the 4th of July fireworks show that the city does at Lake Reba!

Excellent for kids with special needs. Many things for my physically handicapped child to ride on, lots of space for my visually impaired child to roam and enough things to do to keep my child with adhhhhhd involved
Tammie S — Google review
This is NOT a very dog-friendly park. It’s buried at the back of the park behind the horseshoe pits. Parking is a minimum of fifty yards away from the park making it nearly impossible for anyone with a physical disability to access the dog park. There also was no handicapped parking in the area. There were no doggie bags but three places for them. There’s also nothing for the dogs to play with. It’s just two areas with a fence and a few benches. The water was not turned on even though there’s no possibility for frost in mid-April. The gates were a mud pit. I could barely open or close them. When you ask for the bare minimum, this is what I think of.

My son loves the park, the shelters are amazing. The structure itself catches my eye when your under it. They have picnic tables and grills which make it perfect for little birthday partys!! Restrooms near by, you do have to cross the parking lot to reach them.

The EKU Center for the Arts is a university-affiliated venue that offers live entertainment, theater performances, concerts, and more. It provides a pleasant environment with dining facilities. It has been praised for its nice atmosphere and the presence of an elevator on the left side, which should have been communicated to visitors in advance. However, some patrons found it slightly difficult to navigate the seat aisles and noticed echo-like acoustics during a specific concert.
I just want to recognize your amazing staff, Sarah Sipes, Emily Ross, Michelle and Carter, they were all incredible and so helpful went above and beyond getting me information and help on a upcoming concert I was trying to attend! Unfortunately I am unable to make it but they were so hospitable and helpful and made my effort so enjoyable. I just wanted to let them know how much all their help meant to me! And when I am able I am gonna come visit and see a show! Keep up the great job!! Blessings! And happy holidays! ♥️😇🙏🏼

Great spot to take in a game, even as a visitor from waaaay up north. Great tailgate atmosphere. Phenomenal experience. Very welcome.

Let's face it, the structure needs to be razed. When we travel to other schools in the conference it's clear that ours is outdated and basically unsafe. Coach Kidds legacy deserves better.
John C — Google review
The place is falling apart, literally. They cover the unsafe parts with giant signs so folks won't sit there. I guess it's a good thing they don't come anywhere close to filling aced 1/4 if the seats. Ticket prices are also way too high for what you get. They should be giving all the local schools free tickets to encourage young and future fans and their parents. ... Things aren't looking good

Great college atmosphere with wonderful event staff on game days. Love the stadium upgrades to the lighting and sound.
Rob H — Google review
All the water fountains were closed so we couldn’t get refills unless we used bathroom water or bought it for 3 dollars. Staff was nice enough to hand out trash bags when it started pouring rain. Free parking short walk from stadium. Glad we were visiting because home side is difficult to access. Bathrooms large and easy to access.
D B — Google review
One of the worst stadiums I’ve ever been to. The upper deck seating is literally crumbling apart. I had to sweep concrete pieces away from my seat just to sit and the distances b/w the rows are far too narrow. The worst part is the lack of any railing on dilapidated stairs. This stadium is an accident or severe injury waiting to happen.

Beautiful stadium. We sat on newest side and bathrooms were nice and big. The staff was was very helpful. Walking over my mom was in wheelchair and a sweet lady walked us around to the easiest handicap accessible area.

This is a fun and educational place to take the kids on a special day. If you're expecting an imax experience, take another look at the ticket price and enjoy what the EKU planetarium offers. The programs are great and the gift shop usually has something unique and fun.

thought to take wife out for some star gazing, if you will, and ended up pretty disappointed. the entire visual experience was blurry and out of focus. when I asked the moderator about it, I was told it was the film quality and that there was nothing, regrettably, that could be done. I was then told that the presentation afterwards would be much better....it was not.. very faint with no clarity. staff very pleasant and friendly no knock there, just walked away unimpressed and a little disappointed about what I thought should have been a real cool visual experience....

Gem hidden next to Lexington. A must trip for a kid. $6 admission for an adult. Awesome theater with 3D feeling. Attended various 3D, 4D, IMAX theaters in US, but enjoyed Hummel theater most.

Irish pub
Nestled in a cozy setting, Paddy Wagon Irish Pub offers an inviting atmosphere where patrons can indulge in delicious burgers and traditional Irish dishes. The pub is known for its vibrant live music scene, enhancing the overall experience. Guests rave about the exceptional service provided by staff members like Dalton, who stands out as a remarkable bartender and server. Many visitors have praised the food quality, with highlights including the best Reuben sandwich in town—perfectly paired with crispy fried pickles and refreshing beer options.
Just simply perfect! Such a wonderful environment with great food and staff. Dalton, where to begin other than he is a great human being and wonderful bartender and server. Honestly, one of the best I have had anywhere in the country, and here he is is Richmond KY holding it down and setting the bar high for all others! Food was well above what was expected and the entire team here is THE BEST, including management! Apologies as I couldn't stop eating to take pics I wanted but grabbed a few. If you have not tried Paddy's then you are truly missing out. Come in with a decent attitude and you will leave elated! Thanks Paddy's team, you rock my face off!

We were a group of five friends and ordered a pitcher of Corona beer. The server brought us Modelo instead. We didn’t complain at first because we’re not picky and decided to drink it. Later, we asked a lady staff member if it was Corona, and she said she didn’t know. We asked again for a pitcher of Corona, and she confirmed they had it. However, she brought the same Modelo again, insisting it was Corona. I have no problem if they serve a different beer, but being given something else while claiming it’s what we ordered feels disrespectful. This isn’t about the drink—it’s about honesty and how customers are treated. Serving the wrong beer twice and expecting us to believe it’s something else makes us feel like they think their customers are fools. I am a restaurant manager so I know how the beer tastes. Very disappointing. Food was ok. No complains because it’s all frozen and packed food which I understand.

Great place for lunch. We loved the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and the Pizza. Generous portions. Ended up taking some home to have for another meal. Staff was friendly, quick and efficient. Food was quick out of the kitchen, fresh and hot.

This was our first time here & was not aware there are no servers that take your order. If this was posted by other reviewers or was on the website, I would not have suggested it to be our family dining place. Pics of the food were accurate & it was very delicious. Since you have to order at bar, our appetizer came out with the complete dinner plates. Just would have been nice to know all of this before hand.

Very cool place! It's definitely a pool hall type atmosphere but there isn't another like it for miles!! Love the full circle bar and outdoor seating!

Best Reuben in town!! We stopped by today, split a Reuben, sub’d french fries for fried pickles, and shared a bucket of beer. Our Beer-tender answered questions we had about the menu, beer choices, and was very friendly and patient with us. The sandwich was above par, fried pickles were perfect, beer was cold and served promptly. Great atmosphere, people, and food. I highly recommend. We will be back soon to hopefully try something else on the menu but so far, I may have to always order the Reuben. Best one I’ve had in a long time!!
Sunshine H — Google review
I do not recommend this place. Two bartenders (I haven’t dealt with others) clearly underestimated their customers, showing very little respect. That’s disappointing for any establishment. Despite the poor treatment, we still left a tip—because we know how to show respect. If they choose not to respect their customers, that’s their loss, not ours. It won’t bring us down—it only reflects poorly on them.

I ordered takeout from Don Señor Express, and I was impressed by the generous portion sizes of their burritos and nachos. The prices were reasonable as well. However, I couldn't give it a perfect rating because they were out of all their vegan options like caso and meat alternatives. I hope that next time I visit, they will have those options available again.
Ms. Jodie is phenomenal. She made my rental process as simple as possible. Shes all smiles and good energy. Can't wait to rent another car, hopefully i run into her again.
Antonio A — Google review
I have frequented Don Senor alot. But as of lately it has gone downhill substantially. The employees do not want to work. They do not speak English or pretend not to. My husband always gets people that speak English but I don't. That seems weird to me. Sometimes they will lie to your face and say they do not make something anymore even though it is on the menu and it always has been. Tonight I went to get a Taco Salad my usual their hours are posted on the door and on google as 10 o'clock but they closed the door and locked it at 9:15pm. The only complaint I have about the food itself is the Taco SALAD has almost no lettuce in it. Everything else is an adequate amount. The atmosphere is weird because they stare at you while you eat and act as if your presence is an inconvenience for them. This is why I/we always get my/our food to go.....When they are willing to serve me/us.
Michelle L — Google review
Me and my girlfriend absolutely love don senor, been multiple times without a complaint. Today we got two burritos takeout and was eating them and my girlfriend ended up finding a random piece of plastic within her burrito and completely ruined her appetite. I know mistakes happen but this is a large piece of plastic and definitely should've been noticed. It's a shame to think about our favorite burrito restaurant differently now.

We asked for 3 plates of tacos, took almost 15 minutes just trying to explain our order, food lacks flavor, and when we asked for limes the women working didn't put on gloves or even wash her hands before serving us.

The food was amazing. Flavorful, not too salty. Very generous portions. We ordered a taco salad and a burrito. Both were delicious 😋

Delivery Restaurant
Apollo Pizza & Beer Emporium in Downtown Richmond is a popular spot known for its wide variety of pizzas, Italian comfort food, and Kentucky beers on tap. The restaurant has been voted the best pizza in Madison County for five consecutive years, boasting freshly made dough and top-quality ingredients. In addition to their outstanding pizza selection, they also offer an array of salads, submarine sandwiches, hoagies, baked ziti, and macaroni and cheese.
Our 2nd time here. We will make sure to stop in anytime we are in town. Service was fast and the food was great. Alfredo pizza was fantastic. Buffalo chicken was great too. Menu is pretty impressive for a small pizzeria. Draft beers were $6...which is nothing special, but they did have local KY beers in cans (tall too) for $2 each with a frosted glass. Cool little spot with personality that's not a chain restaurant. On our list of Richmond favorites.

Ate here for the first time and wasn’t disappointed. The food was really good, restaurant felt clean, service was good overall, kids loved the pizza. One of our meals came out cold and they took it back to heat it up, which took a little longer than expected but wasn’t a big deal since we had plenty of pizza. Prices are reasonable. We will eat here again.
Jacob S — Google review
I ordered a 9” buffalo chicken pizza and one of their light lagers on tap. Both were really good. The service was great and we got our food fairly quickly. It was around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. You’re able to take your food and beverages out to the patio in between Apollo and Blue Stallion so that was nice.

Excellent Service! Went for lunch Thursday and Jazmine M gave what service should be like. So refreshing to have delicious food with a server that cares about the quality of the entire experience! I found it a bit pricey.. however the Thai Thin Crust pizza was to die for. Thank you Jaz for the suggestions. My husband loved the beer choices. Thank you Apollo. There aren't many choices in Richmond if you're looking for great food with excellent service.
Renee S — Google review
Used to love this place. A few times I let the experience I had go that I had in person since I get it, it gets busy. But when I order online to mitigate those issues I feel like it should be cut and dry. A few times it hasn't been so now I'm finally airing it out. Multiple times they have forgotten food. Multiple times it has been almost ice cold before it got to my house and I live 1.4 miles away from Apollo. And multiple times the delivery driver blamed the restaurant while the restaurant blames the delivery company. All the while you NEVER see your money back. Avoid at all costs unless you are spending someone else's money and hanging out at the college.

Food is truly amazing!! Our pizzas came out wrong twice. After sitting for them to make the first one for 30 mins, our waitress offered to compensate and replace our meal. super sweet young lady. (I think her is Brittany.) If it wasn’t for her I would’ve left a lower rating due to how dirty it was.

I live in England and every time I visit my family, we have to come here. Some of the best pizza, great atmosphere, great choice of craft beers. I dream about the Four Cheesemen of the Apocalypse pizza. Truly a local gem.

If you’re wondering if you should go here, the Olive Garden, some BBQ joint, or Texas Roadhouse, don’t think twice about this place okay! The pizza was so good - crust not too thicc, just enough sauce, and the Hawaii 5-0 although a basic choice, was just good. The real star was the cheesy garlic sticks - BOMB👌🏼✨ all the foods being served that passed our table looked just as fresh, hot, and ready to devour. Back to those cheesy garlic sticks, swimming in yummy butter, served with the best red sauce - get those for sure, you won’t regret it!

Penn Station East Coast Subs is a delightful spot that specializes in grilled sub sandwiches, crispy fries, and refreshing fresh-squeezed lemonade. While it may be slightly tucked away, the inviting exterior and cozy interior with soft yellow lighting create a welcoming atmosphere. The friendly customer service adds to the experience, making it an enjoyable place to grab a bite. With great value coupons frequently available, it's an affordable option for quick dining.
If you haven't been I can't recommend it enough. Great subs that are creative and delicious yet simple. Not a crazy amount of customization but they've figured out the best combos so you don't have to. The potatoes and lemons are both there in front of you, showing off their freshness. They cut their fries there and squeeze their lemons. They have incredible homemade tasting cookies. Can't say enough good things.

Extremely loud atmosphere to the point it’s difficult to communicate with the cashier. The meats were tough, bread so hard it literally cut my gums. Sandwiches are hard to fold and aren’t cut. I would recommend the fries even though mine came without a cup & on my husband’s platter.
Natalie N — Google review
It's easy to miss the place at first as it's pretty tucked away but the outside was nice and clean. The inside was pretty chill too, soft yellow lighting, agreeable music. You know, your typical Penn Station fair. Customer service was friendly and the prices weren't too bad. Also use your coupons! They have a lot of value compared to other quick dining options and they get sent out all the time. Only thing is they put pizza sauce on my philly cheesesteak which is like... okay, listen. I specifically said no pizza sauce, it was already a rough day, and they were just closing up so I think I had a perfectly valid crash-out in the goodwill parking lot next door. Obviously says more about me than Penn Station but I ate it anyway out of spite and now I gotta be the weirdo who likes pizza sauce on a steak sandwich. The fries were perfectly fresh though so it kinda evened out. 9/10 Overall, pretty good experience! Would recommend. Oh and I wanted to review the goodwill parking lot too but there's not a page for it so let's just say it's a lovely place to overreact, try something new, and have a nice cry (not necessarily in that order). 8.5/10

Is the picture on the left what you guys call a cheesesteak? 🤢 more peppers than steak (i specifically asked for no peppers btw), the steak was dry, the bread was soggy and the cheese taste like they microwaved it and threw it on top 🤮 the picture on the right is an actual cheesesteak from Philly.
Dylan D — Google review
Despite our door dash driver taking their time, Penn Station killed it. I ordered a cheesesteak sandwich with sauteed onions and a small fry, and my s/o ordered a salad with extra ranch with chips and a drink. Everything came as ordered. My fries were still warm and tasty, and my sandwich was also still hot and juicy. I haven't eaten at Penn Station in a long time, but I will definitely be back for them delectable juicy cheesy moist sandwiches. Not all heros wear capes, but they wear aprons. 🤣💪🤘

The new General Manager, Ally has renewed the same spirit of Penn Station that was there for 16 years. I went in there and people were vibrant and Ally had that place to a new beginning. Go back and eat and enjoy the love and kindness of the new Manager. It does matter who runs a place. Ally will make you welcome. Welcome back the new Penn Station. The food was even fixed better with pride. You go girl, women rule, like great mothers. I be back eating there again. Give her support.

Historical place
Battlefield Park is a remarkable historical site that transports visitors back to the Civil War era, specifically highlighting the significant Battle of Richmond from 1862. Nestled in Kentucky, this park features well-maintained walking trails adorned with interpretive signs that enhance your understanding of the area's rich history. The visitor center, housed in a charming building dating back to 1811, offers insights into the past and is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable individuals who make your experience memorable. Additionally, you can explore Mt.
This was a nice battlefield. It had been maintained well and there are paved paths all through. Walking through a golf course was a bit odd though. It was a 4 star experience until we went into the house. The young girl who gave us and my kids a tour was amazing. She was so professional and knowledgeable (plus funny). Everyone who worked in the house was very friendly. They made it a 5 star experience.

This historical site and the State of Kentucky is absolutely gorgeous! The Battle of Richmond event was awesome and so much fun! Hot... but that's to be expected. Would love to see actual cavalry rejoin the event, as well as more sutlers.

It’s a good walking path with signs detailing different aspects of the battle. There’s a small cemetery on top of a hill. I really enjoyed the farm house. One of the ladies gave a tour of the house and I really enjoyed it.

This is an absolutely gorgeous park with a lot to see and appreciate. It could have been that the weather was just right, but the field was swaying, the birds were singing, and the lighting was simply perfect. Well worth the stroll, even moreso of you're interested in the historical significance. Plenty of historical markers to read detailing the battle to read (or ignore) as you see fit. A simply lovely park.
Nathan L — Google review
I really appreciate the history behind this park. The nature is beautiful. The big fields of grass were green and little purple flowers were blooming. The park is very clean. It is really interesting that it was saved from being commercialized into a golf course or housing complex. I think it's a great place to go if you are a local for a casual stroll, Picnic or go on a walk with your dog. But it is not worth the trip to drive from far to see this park. This park has a few run down buildings, a Grave yard and historical narratives you can read while you walk around the park. My opinion is that you can read the history and look at pictures online. My trip was 15-30 minutes long. You may want to plan to go to other places in the area too because this will be a short trip.
Joanna W — Google review
My husband and I love to visit historic places. This was one of the few that are free to the public. Very nice walking trail and lots of reading material and markers to learn the history as you walk. The upper floor of the house (Pleasant View) has human blood stains on the wood floors, likely from the time it was used as a field hospital during the Battle of Richmond. It's amazing that the home was used until 2001.

This place is labelled as a Visitor's Center, but it's like a mini museum. A slow, rainy day in early April, so the personable manager took us through everything very nicely. Put a lot of work into it and it's a very nice surprise to stop at

I got married at Chenault Vineyards this past November and it was even better than I could’ve dreamed! From the very first meeting with my coordinators, I could tell they were dedicated to making the experience perfect for me! I felt so at ease knowing I was in good hands with Stacie, Sarah, & Eve! They truly helped my vision come to life and I couldn’t imagine having a more beautiful venue. My coordinators went above a beyond! From helping me with recommendations, walking me through all options, to taking care of all the details on the big day, the made sure everything was perfect. Having a venue, coordinators, catering, decor, and bar service all in one… wow! It took a huge weight off my shoulders when it came to planning and I wouldn’t change a single thing about it. Chenault Vineyards is genuinely the best when it comes to weddings!

Love the events that are hosted here. I joined the wine club because of the wonderful dinner with wine pairing that they host at the end of the year. While attending that had a wonderful time, 5 star food and was able to try wines that I normally wouldn’t. My husband and I just recently attended the murder mystery dinner and was once again blown away by the food, drinks and atmosphere. I have enjoyed these so much we have enthusiastically signed up for the bourbon tasting with dinner coming up at the end of May. The food alone is worth the cost of the tickets not counting the amazing drinks. This place is a rising star for not only Richmond but surrounding counties. Aundria has made the wine club one of the most fun and eventful activities that I have gotten to participate in for many years.

This place is a hidden gem in Richmond. Even the drive to get there is beautiful and not far from 75. The wine is really good & they have flatbread made-to-order pizzas which are awesome. They even offer cauliflower crust for the pizza that is actually good!! The staff here is amazing as well. We’ve never ever had a complaint about them. The manager Tony is so attentive to his customers. We are always happy to go to Chenault and you can’t beat the views either! The photos are only of the outside seating area. There’s lot of inside seating too. They’re huge supporters of live music and have lots of great events. It’s decorated gorgeous around Christmas time too.

My husband and I got married at Chenault Vineyards in May 2025, and it truly was everything we hoped for. Living in Lexington, it was important to us to find a beautiful venue close to home that was also easily accessible for our many out-of-town guests. Chenault checked every box—and then some! What really sold us was that Chenault offers more than just a gorgeous setting. The catering was absolutely incredible, and having the option to work with their in-house wedding planners sealed the deal. Sarah and Stacie, our planners, went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. They were accommodating to all our needs, brought my Pinterest board to life, and handled a few small wedding-day hiccups with absolute professionalism. They also recommended trusted vendors who had worked with Chenault before, which made the planning process so much smoother and took so much stress off our plates. Everything came together beautifully—we still can’t get over how stunning it all looked! Chenault Vineyards is truly a dream wedding venue in Central Kentucky!! You won’t be disappointed booking here. Photos by: Rachel D Photography

Our Berea College Alumni and Philanthropy team experienced a perfect holiday gathering today due to Stacie, Eve, Andrea and all the professional and polished staff at Chenault. Our plated lunches were delicious—thanks chef and kitchen team. It was all served at the right temperature from salad to dessert and was so flavorful. The decor is beautiful there—all decked out for the holidays with several Christmas trees, candles and fireplaces. The table settings were beautiful with Christmas tree folded napkins, lovely gold chargers and fresh flowers. There is a lot to love about Chenault Vineyards. I highly recommend if you are on the fence—try it.

We had our wedding at Chenault. Beautiful venue for the wedding and reception. Sarah, the wedding coordinator was fantastic! I am an extremely organized, take charge type of person and she was a rockstar. She is high energy, organized, fun, professional- all wrapped up in one. The food and decorations that we picked out from them were both on point. No complaints at all.

My boyfriend and I have been to several wineries and enjoy drinking wine on a regular basis with meals. Chenault knows wine! Typically, I do not lean towards white wine, but I loved the white wine flight. However, there was something to love from each flight. Well done in my book! Also, the charcuterie board was a nice addition to the wine tasting. I recommend it!
