Hamburger restaurant
Diamondback Grill is a cozy, family-run restaurant in Sonora, California. The eatery offers a variety of casual dining options including sandwiches, salads, and hearty burgers. Additionally, there's an adjacent wine bar for those looking to unwind with a glass of their favorite vintage. It's been recognized as one of the top restaurants in Sonora and is known for its welcoming atmosphere and delicious food offerings.
Service starts at the front door! While waiting for the rest of our party to walk up the street, the hostess came outside to greet us and welcome us and ask us if we were interested in coming in. A real class act! Upon arrival we were seated with a nice view of the outdoors and were promptly greeted by our server. Everything was superior. The food, the service, the ambiance, portions and price. No complaints whatsoever. Two members of our party are vegetarian. There were many menu options to pick from. On the walls local artists display their work! The employees really know their craft and it’s clear they are a well oiled team. Highly recommend

In town for two nights. Had dinner here from hotel staff recommendation. Did not disappoint and was blown away at the size of the servings of dishes passing us as we got seated. The garlic fries and onion rings servings were huge. Then we saw the fish and chips passed our table. The size of the fish atop of a mountain of chips was like a 10 inch slab of cod. So impressive. Now our food, we came for two dishes that attracted us on the menu - artichoke hearts and baked Brie salad. You hardly find fried artichokes in restaurants these days. They were both excellent and lots of them.Light battered chunks of artichoke hearts with a garlic aioli dip. The baked Brie was served on a bed of dressed chicory leafy greens and cubed spiced apple. Again, the portion was ample. For entrée we shared their pulled pork which comes with a cup of light creamy chicken ranch soup. It’s also very unusual n tasty. The pulled pork was too sweet n mushy. Seems like it’s reheated many times. This is the only disappointed dish. Our dishes came without much wait at all for a busy time. The service was excellent and our server, Carrann, was friendly and helpful. She was a delight. Our overall experience was a good one. The dining room was full for a Monday evening. Keep up the good work.

Grabbed a "Swiss mushroom burger" from here with a side of sweet potato fries. Other than a nice atmosphere and excellent service this place is absolutley NOT 4 star worthy! Order took over 30min to get to me and the place was not even half full. My drink was flat/ bland and not once was i offered a refill. The burger was THE most bland boring uninspiring burger I've ever had. It wasn't bad per say, it just tasted like cardboard. And to add insult to injury it came with a SINGLE SLICE of Swiss cheese which wasn't even melted. The mushrooms tasted stale/ old and are probably the Grocery Outlet special. On a $18 burger this just doesn't fly! Honestly wouldn't send my mother in law there. DO BETTER! MUCH MUCH BETTER!

Great atmosphere and service. Portions are huge and delicious. The Brie salad is super tasty and the Bison Burger is a must. All the staff is super kind and always ensuring their guests have a good experience. The terrace is very nice and quiet during the night. I am traveling all over Americas and Europe. If you want to know interesting places follow me!

Nestled right on Washington Street in historic Sonora, Diamondback delivers big on both atmosphere and flavor—especially with dishes like the Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich (we couldn’t resist adding crispy applewood-smoked bacon) and the Braised Pork Tostada. Southwest Grilled Chicken Sandwich + Bacon The tender, marinated chicken breast arrives perfectly char-grilled, with just enough smoky char to complement the bright poblano-lime aioli. Piling on bacon was a stroke of genius: it adds salty crunch without overpowering the other elements. Each bite combines juicy chicken, melty cheese creating a “southwest fiesta” in your mouth. Braised Pork Tostada The house-braised pork falls apart at the touch of a fork, richly flavored from hours of slow cooking in their signature ancho-chipotle broth. Lay atop a crisp, house-fried tortilla,-bright notes that cut through the pork’s savory depth. You’ll taste hints of orange zest and toasted cumin in every forkful. Quality & Presentation Both dishes arrive artfully plated—nothing over-garnished, but each component feels thoughtfully placed. Portions are generous (you’ll leave full and satisfied), and the ingredients consistently taste as fresh as they look. Overall Diamondback’s blend of down-home comfort and inventive flavor profiles shines through on every plate. If you’re in Sonora and craving a bold, well-executed sandwich or a tostada that hums with layered spice, you can’t go wrong here. Highly recommend pairing your meal with a glass of wine for the ultimate Sonora dining experience.

The service was great. We not only felt welcome, but wanted. The food was amazing. The fries were great, but the sandwich I had, the Heaven, was fabulous. It's in my top 5 best ever sandwiches. I really want to be back and try one of the burgers next. I highly recommend this place for a nice casual lunch or dinner. I took pictures but Google posted them separately. However I'm posting my sandwich again because it was so good.

Huge portions that taste great with awesome service. I had the pulled pork sandwich special and it was juicy and well smoked. We also got the first and chips and it was a whole side of fish! We'll be back when we're passing through Sonora again.

I really enjoyed this restaurant in an old building with lots of original walls and fixtures! I had the grilled chicken sandwich and fries and it was huge and delicious! My server was very good and knowledgeable about the history of the place.

Emberz Wood-Fired Foodz is a laid-back eatery known for its wood-fired American dishes, sandwiches, and pizzas, along with an array of creative cocktails. The restaurant boasts a welcoming atmosphere and is conveniently located just a short stroll from Hotel Lumberjack. Their menu features an assortment of wood-fired pizzas such as the unique Fallen Apple topped with apples, gorgonzola cheese, and prosciutto.
It was delicious, huge portions for adequate money, the meat in the burger was fresh, juicy and well fried! Salads are big with fresh vegetables . Nice enough place in American style ! You can see that it is an old place, but that's what makes it atmospheric! It is worth visiting if you want to eat a lot of delicious food.

We were visiting from out of town and Emberz was recommended to us. So glad we stopped in for lunch. Cool place with great food and staff. Appetizer was bacon wrapped shrimp. Entrees were Lobster Truffle Mac n cheese and Saltimbocca. Drinks were a beer and Huckleberry lemonade. Can't wait until our next visit to go back.

Staff friendly and felt welcomed once entering.. Ordered the lobster truffle Mac and cheese. Was expecting more of a cheesy MAC. Ended being more liquid like a soup than cheesy. I prefer cheesy. Did like the bread and asparagus on the side. First time coming here, may be trying the burgers next time

Being a Sonora native, I’ve seen plenty of establishments come and go—but Emberz has truly weathered the storm. Always packed, always solid. We came here twice during our visit—yes, it’s that good. You know you’re going to get the same quality no matter what day it is or who’s working. Service can be a bit slow, but that’s simply because it’s a large space and it’s always busy. Drinks from the bar? Good. Desserts? Good. Pizza? Solid. But the CHICKEN WINGS—I’ll be thinking about those bad boys for the rest of my life. The size of these things must have come from giant dinosaur chickens. Honestly, almost worth the six-hour drive just to get them again. From here on out, I will always order them. I also sat next to a table that ordered some kind of monster sandwich, and while I didn’t have it this time, I WILL be getting it on my next visit. We finished with the brownie for dessert, and it was good. 10/10 for this local legend.

The best roasted chicken of my life! Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and full of flavor. The service was incredibly kind, and signing the book made the experience even more special. A must-visit!

Food was OK (wings sufficient, burger good) and service was helpful. We were so so tired and jet lagged when we arrived, but our stomachs were at least filled

This is a delightful little restaurant located in the heart of Sonora. I kid you not, there is not one bad item on the entire menu. Our party of 9 had probably 20 different items that we ordered, and there were no complaints whatsoever, instead everyone just raved about what was in front of them. The staff is super friendly, very efficient and knowledgeable as well. Check out some of the pictures.

Dragoon Gulch Trail Head

Hiking area
Dragoon Gulch Trail Head is a 2.5-mile hiking trail system that winds through 35 acres of picturesque oak woodland in Sonora. The area was originally slated for residential development but has been repurposed into a scenic hiking destination, thanks to the contributions of various individuals and organizations. The trails are easily accessible from downtown Sonora and offer a leisurely walk through tranquil oak woodlands, making it suitable for families with children.
Very nice. The trail had some cement for a little bit, and then it turned to dirt. The walk was fairly easy with some inclines and lots of loose gravel. However. There were benches to sit down on if one needed to rest. That surprised me. The trail/s are wide enough for large groups. Do take water. I travel up the hill, but I did not go the distance as I normally do. This time was a short walk. What I found interesting was how the tree bent in a natural arche to provide nice shade. Also, the climbs uphill are not very difficult. The key is to pace oneself. From a two mile walk, I could see lots of the city and hills. Very beautiful.

I love this trail. Have done it several times. Would highly recommend it even for light hikers. The view at the top is worth it. If you park at the southern end, you will have a paved road, and once you get to the trailhead parking, it becomes somewhat rough terrain but not horrible.

A beautiful trail in Sonora, California here I found a multitude of one of my favorite trees: The manzanita. I ran all along the trails until I made it to the highest point lucky for me. A strong breeze kept me cool. Along the way, I saw families, dog walkers, people looking at birds and insects, and everybody was friendly and polite! When you get a chance to visit make sure to leave no trace give a hoot and don’t pollute.

Super nice trail. There's several different little side finger trails that you can take. Making it pretty awesome cuz it wouldn't be a very repetitive hike if you plan on doing it once a week or daily. Centrally located in downtown Sonora is pretty awesome

Short hike decent elevation, would recommend being aware of the weather as it can get quite hot on the trail. The trail should be fairly easy to navigate it is pretty straight forward. Dog friendly and even children should be able to accomplish it. The view from the summit of Sonora is great.

Drove up here from Turlock. It took about an hour to get here in Sonora. We packed a couple granole bars and plenty of water. The temp said 69° but it felt like 76°. No cloud cover and the elevation was high so I understand why it felt hotter. Not a lot of people on these paths so it felt exclusive. Smooth terrain. Beautiful day. We walked a total of 4.9 miles from our car to the beginning of the trail paths and then back to our car again. Not strenuous at all. It was a good hike. There are a couple of benches to sit and rest along the trails. This is a nice secret gem of a modest hike path. Enjoy.(bring water).

Parking: is free but designated spots there are only about 10. We had to park on the side of the road which we didn’t know if we would get a ticket for. When we came back from the hike a lot of cars were parked along the side of the road and we didn’t get a ticket 😆 Entrance fee: $0 it’s a free trail! Dogs allowed: yes on a leach Restrooms : Not available 👎 This trail is great for a nice walk. There is plenty of shade as well. I took kids ranging from 8-12 and adults ranging from 31-52 and we all enjoyed it. There are different ways to get up the hill. You get to choose if you want to go through the really steep way or not so steep. I highly recommend this park it’s very clean and everyone their was very respectful.

The Armory in Sonora, California is a must-visit destination with its lush beer garden, private dining, event center, and upscale menu. Located conveniently across from Sonora Inn, this charming establishment offers impeccable service and a warm ambiance. The bar area features creative cocktails served in unique glasses, while the open-air 2-story bar adds to the allure of the place. Visitors can enjoy delicious food such as Grilled Shrimp Tacos and gluten-free options on the menu.
This place is not only a TON OF FUN with a great atmosphere both inside and out, they have a great selection of beers on tap including hard to finds ones like Pliny the Elder AND a whiskey shelf that would satisfy even the most refined imbibers in their Bourbon Barrel room. Seriously, I had no idea this place existed and just happened across it as we passed through town but now, my wife and I will always make it a point to stop here anytime we make our way up and down HWY 49. I should note, this place was crowded even for lunch and for the most part, it was filled with a more youthful customer base but there were still people of all ages here. Also, for those of you with 4 footed friends, I was happy to see that dogs were allowed in the outside patio area which of course, is way cool to hang out in with it's lovely beer tap water fountain. The bar is very large with plenty of seating and the bartenders are super nice but there are high tops and benches you can chill at as well with a group of friends and even lounge chairs and sofas along the back wall. Of course, if you prefer to be served, there are tables available up on the mezzanine that waiters attend to and there are tables inside as well but really, on a nice summer day, outside is where you want to be. On our visit, I had the chimmichuri shrimp tacos and my wife had the short rib ones with a salad and everything tasted delicious! Need I say, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who lives in or are passing through Sonora 👍

If you’re into restaurants in amazing locations, with cool vibes, INCREDIBLE food, and service that makes you feel like you’re Norm in Cheers, the Armory is not to be missed. On an absolutely perfect patio Taco Tuesday we walked into the Armory and were greeted by the amazing Elly. She gave us a rundown of the tacos on deck for the day and she was an absolute expert on their cocktail lineup, including the charity cocktail they are featuring for the month to support survivors of sexual assault. YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT… incredible food, service, ambiance AND community spirit. Mind officially blown. Our table ended up ordering the fish tacos, and the roasted butternut squash tacos. Butternut squash tacos, where have you been all my life? You might also be asking where are the tacos in this photo? Well, they were devoured before we could even stop long enough to take a pic. Oh, and why a fork and knife in a photo of invisible tacos??? Because I had to cut up the massive piece of beautiful breaded fish in the fish tacos. Both choices came with a lime crema I’m going to tell my grandkids about. I’m 48 though and I don’t have kids, so that means I’m going to go adopt kids that will hopefully have kids so I can tell those kids about these tacos. That’s how good they are. They’ll also hear the story about the house made tortilla chips dusted in flaky sea salt and served with a salsa verde so fresh I thought it was hitting on me.

Enjoyed an early dinner at The Armory with friends—this place is spectacular! From the stunning building to the top-notch service and incredible food, everything was on point. We tried the chicken sandwich and the classic burger—both were fantastic. And the Pretty & Pink cocktail? Out of this world. Huge thanks to Lauran for the great service —these folks really know what they’re doing!

First time at The Armory. We went with a party of 7 on Saturday afternoon. Found parking easily in the parking lot adjacent. We walked in and seated ourselves downstairs instantly. Menus are by the register. You will also walk up and make your orders. Food will be delivered to table. Absolutely great vibe with many options. There's downstairs outdoor seating with the bar and picnic style tables, upstairs with more traditional 2 and 4-top tables, and an indoor bar (in the barrel). We got a couple drinks, nachos, and pretzel. It was a perfect afternoon visit. I could see coming back and making an evening of it.
Jessica S — Google review
Great outdoor atmosphere and dog-friendly (downstairs only). Get their large pretzel, heard they're soft and delicious. Yum! When the weather is nice out, the place gets busy. Downstairs patio, you place your order with the bartender and then a server will bring out your food. Upstairs patio, servers will take your order. I like that they have gluten-free and vegetarian options. My favorite items are the Buddha Bowl and Butternut Squash Tacos. I've received smiling friendly service each time I've gone. I hear they have country line dancing on Saturdays!

Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere, the waitress, the food, the drinks. Everything was so good. Our waitress, Cassidy, was so sweet and made our experience even better! I highly recommend checking this place out! The chicken sandwich, the western burger, the pork belly nachos and the shoestring fries were incredible!!!

The food, service, and staff are always amazing here. I've been line dancing at the armory for over a year and a half. And the atmosphere is always upbeat and wonderful. Joe and Eric are a couple of the bartenders at the armory who are always so friendly and helpful. They make sure everyone is safe and having a good time while out in the patio area. The cooks always make wonderful food. The staff always makes sure everything is clean and tidy. I always have an amazing experience here. Definitely recommend to a friend.

Heaven For Kids Playground is a popular spot with wooden play structures suitable for both young and older kids. It also features a skate park, picnic tables, and shaded benches, making it an ideal location for little parties. While the park offers a great place for kids to have fun and make friends, some visitors have expressed concerns about the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the need for maintenance of certain facilities such as trash cans and benches.
Looks super fun if I had little ones to go to. We went to the skate park which was nice as well. If it didn't look weird I would of went to play on the jungle gym lol looked neat lol

Well maintained and kids will love it. Well maintained and everything in good condition too. It a rare park for kids. The kids love it, it's like their favorite park, but the bathrooms aren't equipped with enough sanitary tools. And the structure is quite big which could be fun but also hard to keep an eye on the kiddos. Viney's Italian Kitchen is a fantastic place to enjoy a Thursday evening with your family. The restaurant was bustling and the service was exceptional. We ordered multiple dishes, including appetizers and main meals, which were not only served quickly but also incredibly tasty. One highlight was their delicious butter chicken, a special Indian dish offered on Thursdays. Viney's Italian Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine, far superior to chain restaurants like Olive Garden.
Our Waitress Delaynie was very accommodating to our group. She took the time to explain the dishes and help us decide from a great menu and boy did this place deliver. The Bruschetta was flavorful and the garlic bread used was outstanding. When asked for advice between the Meatball sandwich and the Calzone, Delaynie was spot on and recommended both but to start with what they are known for which is great Calzones. It was simply amazing and they have so much more. I know next time it will be the meatball sandwich but after the amazing Calzone, I want another!! Others in our group went with the Chicken Marcella, the spinach ravioli, and the fantastic pasta. Rave from all. 5 stars for this place. Highly recommended and can't wait to come back for more of their menu. You know it was good when getting in the car and everyone is talking about their dinner. Great Job !!

I have tried Vineys a few times over the years but this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The food is extremely overpriced for the amount you get. $14 for 4 over cooked mozzarella sticks. The “beef” raviolis are actually cheese raviolis with some meat sprinkled on top and swimming in grease. The Chicken Marsala had zero flavor, somehow even the chicken had no flavor. The lasagna was the only decent thing but it was also swimming in grease. Every attempt at taking a bite pushed the grease out of the bowl and all over the table. I got a soda refill and it had ants floating in it. We told the server about the ants and he came back a few minutes later with a new drink but when we told him the amount of grease was disgusting and he claimed “that’s what happens when you cook meat.” We stated we can’t eat a bowl of grease and his reply was “it is not disgusting, those are our best sellers and there’s nothing wrong with the food. Maybe there’s something wrong with your taste.” I would avoid this place like COVID. Unless you want to pay for an overpriced trip to bathroom or ER. I know if I tried to eat that soupy mess that is exactly where I would have ended up. I will never go back and I will never recommend anyone to eat there. STAY AWAY.

What can I say? This place was off the charts good. Not busy when the rest of town was very busy. We were in our group of dog show friends from various parts of California. Food was so good. Best pizza/calzone crust I have had in my life no joke , the toppings were so good also. I want to drive 6 hours for another calzone. I'm almost 40 and have had more pizza than I want to admit haha. My wife had the beef lasagna and it was very good also. Garlic cheese bread must get appetizer. The waitress was so kinda and very attentive. Our table had calzones and 2 lasagnas my son had the cheese pizza which he quickly devoured. Thank you Vineys staff for being awesome. Only down side which I will absolutely not ding them for the ac wasn't working the waitress even acknowledged that it was hot and appologized, good company and good food will outweigh a warm restaurant.
Nick S — Google review
Good, not great. We were one of only two tables in the entire restaurant and it still took OVER an hour for our meal to come out, with apps arriving at the same time. Had to ask for a table, had to ask for a menu, had to ask for the check. Our server was very kind but inexperienced which made the interactions awkward at times. Not really her fault, just part of the whole picture. The place was clean and the dining room was open and airy. The decor was generic Italian wine and grapes, with a few real plants sprinkled amongst the plastic ones. When our food finally came out it was hot and tasty for sure, but a bit pricey for what we received. Samosas had good flavor but weren't sealed well, and honestly could have used double the filling. Butter chicken was watery although it did have good flavor. Tikki Masala was rich and perfectly spicy. The chicken in these dishes was scant, but not overcooked or freezer burnt which was a plus. Our naan was a bit oily but not bad at all. Pizza was nothing to write home about, but the kids had no complaints. All this considering, I will be back to try more items on their menu. The flavors were reminiscent of warmth and home cooking, and the diverse choices at this restaurant deserve a second chance and a place in our small town.

Absolutely ridiculous. Viney’s has been our go to here since we moved to Sonora several years ago. Tonight I was blown away but the craptastic portion size - way too expensive for the TINY “calzone” that’s more like a stuffed breadstick. And then I took a bite. What on earth even is this? It’s rubbery and disgusting. I threw it in the garbage. I’ll make something to eat myself. What the heck has happened to you, Viney’s? This is *gross*. This “calzone” was basically a Hot Pocket that somebody let defrost and then stuck in the microwave without its sleeve - so not only was it garbage food, it wasn’t even properly cooked. I don’t think I’ve ever been so mad at a restaurant.
Eddie O — Google review
It was completely empty when we went in, the atmosphere was very laid back and relaxing. We got the Venetian Pizza and garlic fries. The garlic fries were so good that I didn't even take a picture we dug into them that quick! Definitely the best garlic fries I've had. And the pizza was delicious the crust had its own unique flavor by itself even with the tomato sauce and the tomatoes on it both tasted differently. My spouse and I have decided to make this our daily spot, definitely a 10 out of 1I really look forward to trying the Indian food next😀

Service was great but owner left a cook who had been with the restaurant 6 days and there was 1 server to run the entire restaurant. They were completely overwhelmed. Food was horrible this time , not sure if we will b back or not. The last 2 times my wife and I visited Vineys the food was amazing, so I don't know what was all going on yesterday.

Such a beautiful little restaurant! I absolutely love the location. We ordered the molcajete with the chicken, steak, and shrimp with chile verde, it was very tasty but the rice and beans had no flavor. We also ordered the chips and salsa and those chips were soo good! You have to order them as an appetizer and it’s around $3.

We stopped here while out and about. The smell from this place lured us into it. It smells amazing outside! We sat inside, but they did have nice outdoor seating too (Sun was baking the patio, so we sat inside). Service is slow, at least for what we ordered. We ordered the Pescado al Pastor and the Molcatjete Asada. Both dishes were fantastic! The food here was incredible! Slow, but incredible. The couples next to us received their meals, ate their order, and checked out before we received our Dish. They arrived at similar times as us. I did love the fried jalapeños appetizer as an option, which makes it easier than requesting a side of jalapeños. Some places will bring diced or pickled. Whole grilled jalepenos is unmatched in my personal opinion. I did not get a picture, but instead of chips and salsa, they bring, chicharonne de harina instead, with a little Tapatio on them. Nice change up, but I would have like a bit more as we waited so long for our dishes we just kind of sat there. Luckily, I ordered two glasses of water (started this everywhere to avoid slow server's) and it paid off since we were ignored most of the time with an empty table. Bathrooms, oh man, they could use a bit of help here. Clean enough, although some child did urinate all over the seat of the toilet (not their fault, but I checked both at the beginning and end of the hour+ we were there and it was never addressed). Both bathroom sinks are underpowered and very short, and your hands barely fit (see video). Also, in one of the restrooms, the toilet isn't even bolted down properly (see video).

The chipotle molcajete and the creamy garlic traditional plate were both fantastic, as was the guacamole. The vegan bowl and the chile relleno were not great.

Located in the heart of town, free 3 hours street parking. Nice patio seating area. Huge menu. They have a bar as well. Food was good, and the service was excellent, worth trying when traveling the area.

Finally decided to try El Arroyo in downtown Sonora. At the street level, you'll go down a flight of stairs to get to the main door. If the weather is nice, opt to eat on the patio (dog-friendly). You'll have a pleasant view of the creek and the street action above. In the evening, the string of lights creates a romantic ambience. It kinda reminded me of a bar we went to in Sorrento, Italy. As for the food, yummy...definitely ask for the creamy chipotle molcajete steak and chicken. It's served in a lava rock that's piping hot which, keeps the cheese melted while you scoop it up into a tortilla. We also had the side of queso and chips. I wasn't expecting it to be served on a hot skillet. Great presentation! I complemented my dinner with a frosty pina colada. Service is very friendly and accommodating. We came at peak dinner hour but didn't wait long. I wish I wasn't so full, I wanted to try the desserts!

The fajita bowls were delicious and plentiful. The margaritas and bloody marys were fantastic. We especially liked sitting outside on the patio along a beautiful stream. Emily, our server, was friendly and efficient. The prices were terrific. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Chinese restaurant
On my first visit to Hong Kong Garden, I was impressed with the exceptional quality and freshness of their food. The flavors were well-balanced without being overly salty, which is definitely a positive aspect. The waitstaff and other employees were friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. I tried the mango chicken with peppers, onions, and carrots along with the honey walnut shrimp served on a bed of lettuce – the sauce had a delightful sweet-tangy taste reminiscent of dressing.
This is my favorite Asian cuisine restaurant to go to out of any other place that I have been to. The food here is outstanding. The restaurant owners are very kind people, the service is great, and the atmosphere is simply relaxing and delightful. If you are looking for a relaxing place to eat incredible food with good service, this is definitely a place to go. And if you love Asian cuisine, then I recommend this even more. Everything they have here tastes good. Also, as someone who doesn't care for pot stickers, it is one of the best things on their menu. Their pan fried potstickers are top notch.

Everything was good, enjoyable. The chow mein was a little greasy, like wet. But other than that 👌🏼my favorite was the honey walnut shrimp! Soooo crunchy and soooo tasty! The waitress was so attentive as well

I was staying at a hotel across the street and decided to get take out here. It took a while even thought there was only a couple seated there when I arrived. It was a pleasant atmosphere, typical decorations of a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the seafood chowmein. Noodles were thick like a lo mein but without a flovorful sauce. Very few vegetables in the dish. Had to add all the packets of soy sauce for flavor.

As I sit here in the booth, digesting and watching my family eat I decided I'd do the review while it's fresh in my head and my stomach. Honk Kong Garden was delicious! Staff was friendly and prompt. The decor was interesting with a clash of traditional Chinese atmosphere and then BAm! Moose and Elk head mounted on the wall, but because we live in the mountains it's fitting 😉. Traditional Chinese food of course but still great tasting. Today's dinner consisted of special fried rice, fried chicken wings, combination appetizer, pork and custard buns, sweet and sour pork, siomai, and beef wonton. Special fried rice had plenty of shrimp and the vegetables were fresh, not too oily. Fried chicken was great and crispy and not oily. The sweet n sour pork had a great glaze that wasn't overpowering the meat. The buns and siomai were steamed, fresh, soft and plenty of filling. The beef wonton came in a large bowl with plenty of the wonton and a good amount of bok choy and beef strips. They even included a small bowl of egg flower soup and was great to start. The combination appetizer has serving of 3, pot stickers, egg roll and prawns. Everything crispy as it should, the pot stickers were excellent and tasted fresh. Overall very happy and will return again! Keep up the quality!

Pizza restaurant
Round Table Pizza is a well-established pizza chain known for its customizable pizzas served in a simple setting. While some customers have experienced slow service and issues with delivery, others have been impressed by the quality of the pizzas and the reasonable prices. The restaurant has received mixed reviews regarding its ambiance and service, but many patrons appreciate the accommodating staff and tasty food options, such as the veggie pizza.
I was surprised by the great service, then blown away by one of the best pizzas I've ever had! A perfect crust, not too thick and doughy, yet not too thin and crunchy. Nice and crisp. Quality toppings and plenty of them, with a reasonable price as well! If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to pizza place.

Round table is always awesome. Good pizza good beer good service. 2 stars less for this one coz we bought gifts for kids from their vending machines and one of the toy box was empty. We asked the guy who took our order about that. He said I will talk to my manager but he never came back. I think he didn't care about 2 bucks. But it shows customer service :(

Decent veggie pizza, we were a large group of 15,they were accommodative of different choices we had. Staff super helpful..
Mrugesh D — Google review
The food was hot, tasty and service is great. If only there weren't so many people hanging around the front trying to bum money, cigarettes or sympathy because of homelessness. It's rough for a lot but that puts a damper on a good meal. One gentleman holds the remote to the tv there very tightly
Dorrey H — Google review
They were a little slow on the second order but other than that, expensive pizza but good. My problem is doordash gives me an apartment complex with no unit number. Than the person does not respond to text or phone and after sitting there for 10 minutes and knowing the pizza is cold and not being able to get any kind of technical support, I'd had it.
Jerry H — Google review
This was a terrible place to eat in. Maybe their take out or delivery is good but I do not recommend eating there. We originally planned to go to a nice restaurant in Sonora, however it was closed for renovations. The kids wanted pizza and so we stopped by to eat. The pizza was fine, but the place was filthy and the salad bar practically only had lettuce and dressings. There were lots of empty bins where salad toppings should be. Also the soda machine was broke and they had nothing for drinks but tap water. Granted that's not the employees fault and they at least tried their best to make the experience better. It seems this restaurant is running itself down due to lack of up keep. At least next time we are in the area we will know better....
Daniel M — Google review
Worker that took my order has caked dirt under his nails, dinning room overall is dirty, political news playing. Waited an hour for pizza and one came out burnt while mine came out completely wrong. Husband has been standing at the counter for 10 min while being ignored
Amy K — Google review
I walked in and it smelled awful as if nobody showered for a month and they had cats living in the place. I was expecting a nice aroma of pizza however I was shocked. I will never again return to this place. The pizza was terrible. I should of gone to Mike's pizza of Sonora which is actually better quality and taste. Don't order the wings unless you want to chew on the fat and eat a tiny amount of meat, I'd rather have made my own pasta too, overall was not satisfied with my entire order/experience. I wish I could get a refund 😭 Corporate needs to check in on this place.

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Indigeny Reserve. Not quite as popular as Dragoon Gulch Trail Head, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Indigeny Reserve, located near Yosemite and Sonora, is a 160-acre apple orchard that produces hard cider, apple brandy, and fruit-infused vodka on-site. The property hosts a fall festival with various vendors, food tents, live music, pumpkin patches, hayrides, and apple cider for sale. It's dog-friendly and offers well-groomed grounds with streams and hiking trails leading to an on-site mine and Phoenix Lake.
Great location to hang out, plus they have cider! Honestly, it's worth the visit just to walk around, enjoy a lunch, and the cider is a bonus. Their cider is very tasty with a variety of options. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Tastings were also reasonably priced. We'll be back next time we're in the area.
Jon ( — Google review
I don't know but this was one of the best cider tastings I've ever been to, but yet I've only been to one😋. It operates similar to a winery but the tour that we took was outstanding. Learned a lot of information about apples and the different types of alcohols that they can make through the fermentation process. There's super friendly staff there and the gift shop is quite unique as well. They also have a disc golf course which is free to use and it meanders through these tall pines in short grasses... We had a great time there!

If I could give 10, even 20 stars, I would. I cannot say enough good things about Indigeny Reserve! Our son and his now wife chose Indigeny for their wedding, and I’ve never been a part of an event that ran so smoothly and beautifully. Cassandra was so helpful and accommodating - what a gift. I feel like she worked tirelessly to help our son and daughter-in-law, putting them at ease, and making sure everything they wanted and needed was ready and taken care of on a day that has the potential to be very stressful. The crew was so helpful and kind - easy to work with - everyone there made us feel like they wanted this day to be as special for the bride and groom as their families did. The grounds were (and are) gorgeous, the weather was perfect, the ciders delicious, and our whole family believes the day could not have been more perfect. If you're thinking about using this venue - don't hesitate. I highly recommend it - it’s beyond worth it. Thank you so much Cassandra and crew at Indigeny, for making this once-in-a-lifetime event sooooo special!

Cider and hard alcohol tastings get you a mini tour, 100% worth it. Beautiful property, amazing people. Chris was a great host and we were surprised to find that he had only been working at the reserve for short period of time. His sparkling personality, knowledge, and overall enthusiasm for the orchard and the ciders, brandys, and vodkas made the visit 10x better. if you're in the Sonora area you have to check it out bring your puppy, bring your picnic blanket, bring some cheese and crackers, and buy a sandwich or burger from the vendor they have on site
Doug M — Google review
This place is amazing! From the grounds that you can explore to the amazing ciders to taste. Indigeny Reserve has it all. The grounds are well groomed, filled with flowing streams and trails to hike. Walked to the on site mine and to Phoenix lake, very peaceful and serene. After our little walk we had a go at the taste testing of the ciders. Amazing as always! Saw some wildlife, small gnome village and plenty of turkeys! A great place to spend the day!
Brent D — Google review
The ride to the orchards is nice, once there you are greeted by wonderful hosts. For the first timers I would recommend trying the sampler ciders. If you like picnics or a stroll through orchards. This is a nice place to come. Now about their ciders, dangerously tasty. All their selections are very nice, and their apple brand is very smooth. Shout out to the guys who are BBQ in the front, delicious burgers.

Great place to take the kids. Wonderful place for them to make new friends
Eric C — Google review
Had a great time with my friends, until a boy who knows the workers there, got up in my friends face and making gross faces at her. And the workers, two girls. Did nothing about it. They know the boy for sure. Sat there chuckling while it happened. My friend walked out and the boy followed threatened to fight her. When my other friend confronted the girl, she got in trouble?? One of the lady came up to her told her “you can’t be going in and out, and can’t be using such language.” So she can’t cuss, but he can threaten to fight her?? This boy also during the game, 4 corner. Was shoving and pushing people so hard. I was one of them who got tackled. This is unacceptable and ruined my time there. I’ve been going her since I was a kid and never had a problem with other people. They were loud, obnoxious, and super disrespectful. Even the two workers. One with black hair, and dirty blonde hair. Defending the boy WHO threatened to fight my friend. Unacceptable.

Very unacceptable! This place was absolutely terrible towards my little sister tonight! The staff was horrible! Some dude working there was yelling at her and trying to fight her she is 14! On 11/24/2023 my wife and I attended a play of Cinderella. From the moment the staff opened the doors to enter the playhouse it was beyond a nightmare and extremely embarrassing for me. For one if you are a bigger American I would stay away from this theater. The seats are extremely small! Take a look at the included picture to see for yourselves. Since I am a bigger American I did not fit. The staff were extremely rude when I asked for assistance. They ended up giving me a steel chair and placing me under an air vent blowing extremely cold air! I froze and shivered through both acts of the play. For the play itself it was really good. The rude staff ruined our Christmas spirit and we will not be back and as a Purple Heart war veteran my wife and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this playhouse at all till they get more customer friendly staff!!

Farmers' market
Sonora Farmer's Market is a must-visit for those looking for fresh local produce, honey, breads, and other goods. The market operates on Saturdays from early morning but it's best to double-check the schedule before visiting. It's closed during winter months and doesn't allow dogs for safety reasons. Parking can be tight, so arriving early is recommended.
Sonora Farmer's Market...a definite visit for fresh local fruit, vegetables, honey, breads and other goods. The market is open on Saturdays, listed as 730AM, but they were open a bit before then. Double check the schedule (weather, season, etc), before visiting, but it's a must see. No dogs allowed, listed on multiple signs...for the safety of all. Each of my purchases were cash based, I didn't ask about paying with debit or credit. Parking next to the market can be tight, so visit early...will make life easy and of course the best of the goods.

We also shared a scrumptious pecan cinnamon pastry and some wonderful veggies. Next time we're in Tuolumne County, we'll definitely go back!

The Aloft Art Gallery at Baer's is a charming establishment where local artists showcase their work. The gallery operates under a cooperative system, with artists taking turns to exhibit their diverse art forms, ranging from photography to clay sculptures. During my visit, I witnessed a female artist engrossed in painting her exquisite artwork. Set within a beautifully restored historic building, the gallery exudes an inviting ambiance and is filled with captivating pieces from talented individuals in the community.
Lots of beautiful art from local artists. The gallery is really nice looking and wish it had a more inviting entrance, and more events too.

A bright art gallery offering a great variety of art, both stylistically as well as pricewise. The owners are friendly and warm, and the atmosphere is relaxed. There's also jewelry, pottery and carved wood. They feature local artists as an added plus. A must-visit if you are strolling Washington street.

I stopped 3 times over the course of 2 hours and each time the sign said "be back in 5 minutes " and the same woman was sitting behind her computer screen facing me staring through the front door window. Do you want to sell art? Be open!! My wife even commented to me that I very seldom leave an art gallery empty-handed. In fact I just spent $1200.00 on a piece at Warrior's Work and Ben West Gallery in Hill City, South Dakota on my way Sonora. Nice art in the window, would of loved to have seen what was inside.

Very nice. The artists share days they work the co-op. The art varies from photography to clay. When we were there a woman was painting her artwork.

Military Museums
Nestled in the heart of Tuolumne County, the Veterans Hall and Museum is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts and those interested in military heritage. This multi-level facility not only showcases an impressive array of military memorabilia, including artifacts from World War I through to contemporary conflicts, but it also serves as a community hub with various activities throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy free admission while exploring fascinating exhibits filled with photographs, uniforms, and firearms that tell the stories of local veterans' sacrifices.
Free museum. Plenty of collection from the world wars to the Korean, Vietnam, gulf and current events. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about military history.

Our grandson 13 my husband and I went into the Sonora Military Museum. It was full of interesting artifacts representing all branches of the service. It has ns of uniforms and accessories and memorabilia. The displays were informative and I loved how personal they are with names of soldiers who wore them. The women who served were represented and loads of photos. We also saw an old Nazi uniform artifact . Downtown Sonora has some of the best shopping in the Gold Country if you are looking for unique boutiques, antiques, some diy crafts, art galleries, day spas, restaurants, and lively events. The area offers a mix of attractions and historic landmarks

Super cool military museum with tons to look at and read. Lots of donated items and historical artifacts dating back to World War 1 and I think earlier. Definitely worth the visit and the donation. Located inside the Veterans hall.

Great museum I myself am a big history fanatic especially with history of the United States and the military. Had a great time looking at the pictures, uniforms, and firearms on exhibit. The older gentleman there named George Anderson was such a good host. God bless him.

This is a multi use, multi level building. There is a wonderful military museum on the ground floor. As with most Veterans Halls, this one has a commercial kitchen and several meeting rooms. There are many activities all month long, throughout the year. The first Sunday of every month is the pancake breakfast. The price is reasonable and the food is good. Served by local veterans and their families. My wife and I go every month. The VFW meets here as does the Viet Nam era veterans and other veterans groups. There are memorials for all of the major war's with names of the local children who were lost. The most recent is the Memorial for the fighting in the Gulf War. A bench that was dedicated just last month. Our local chapter of Operation M.O.M. was the leading agency on that one. Operation M.O.M. supports the active duty troops including sending "Care" packages throughout the year.

One of the best military museums I've every been to. Has a very personal touch to the exhibits. Helps to show the true sacrifices made in war and defense.

Thai restaurant
Sonora Thai Cuisine, nestled in the lively town of Sonora, California, offers a delightful culinary journey to Thailand. The restaurant presents traditional specialties such as spring rolls and tom kha soup in a relaxed setting. Each dish is a symphony of authentic Thai flavors that transport diners to the bustling streets of Bangkok or the serene beaches of Phuket with every bite.
Food was yummilicious 😋 We ordered Panang curry with tofu and fresh rolls vegetarian. Both items were super delicious. If you are in Sonora and looking for Thai food, I highly recommend this. P.s. we were so hungry forgot to take pictures of food when it arrived so posting after pics.

Considering all the standard American food restaraunts in Sonora it is great to have an authentic Thai place. It is a family owned and run business and you can tell. They are passionate about what they do. That does also mean they can be a little slow. The curries are all good but they could use a little more spice. The proclivities of the local clientele calls for more mild food, but I want my red curry to have a good burn. The papaya salad has great flavor and full size shrimp. Usually it's served with the tiny bay shrimp but this has a good helping of tender large shrimp. That being said, of you don't like a fishy salad this may not be for you. The imitation (yes, fully vegetarian) duck is probably their best dish. You could fool an meat eater with this, but for the vegetarians, it does not taste too much like meat. If you're like me and can't stand Beyond or Impossible, this is a good choice. The salmon special has great flavor but the chicken tends to be overcooked and there are more bell peppers than anything else. The same with chefs special #1. The chicken was overcooked and there were way too many corns. There are usually only two workers, and one cook, so it is usually a long wait. I have been there twice now when their card machine does not work. This last time I had placed an order for pickup and had to wait for probably twenty minutes while they reset their system and they still couldn't figure it out, only accepting cash or zelle as payment. By the time I finally paid and got out of there my food was cold. I would also recommend eating in the restaurant and not ordering to-go. Usually in restaurant you get enough to eat for a full meal AND a to-go box for leftovers. The leftovers alone are about the size of the entire to-go order. The peanut tofu had maybe 15 pieces of tofu and did not even fill the entire box. If you want authentic Thai food, this is your best bet, but don't come expecting a fast meal. Also, it can be kind of cold inside so bring a jacket just in case.

My go to is always this refreshing Rainbow salad! However, I’m a big fan of authentic Thai food. While the food here is always tasty, and the service is wonderful, the dishes just don’t reach my Thai spice/authenticity craving most times. I’d still recommend to anyone. The food is still flavorful:) If the papaya salad had more savory flavor and spice then that would be my favorite ❤️

In an area dominated by burgers and fries, this was a welcome haven to people like me who need their Asian food fix! My husband and I stopped here two days in a row for lunch during our Yosemite trip and it always hit the spot. We tried the chicken satay, the Penang curry with brown rice, the Pad Woon Sen, Pad Kee Mow, the pepper pork (all medium spicy) - everything was flavorful and delicious. The staff were consistently polite and friendly, and the ambience was just right. Highly recommend stopping here for lunch during your Sonora stay!

Good atmosphere, high ceiling, good service. It is famous among local that I talked to. We have noodle soup, I like curry noodle but I am not big fan of beef noodle. The other food that our friend had such as fried rice, kwe tiaw looks good.

Food is good. A great for beginners who have never had Thai, that would like to taste. Everything is good...service, food and space. The flavors are subtle - ask for condiments to kick it up for spice.

A little unexpected gem of a restaurant in Sonora! An authentic Thai restaurant which tastes just like it would in Bangkok or Phuket. Highly recommended! We were able to park right in front, but there are also spaces in the back.

Chinese restaurant
Great Wall Restaurant is consistently enjoyable, with delectable cuisine akin to the finest Chinese establishments in the Bay Area. The chef's expertise shines through in every dish. Despite a recent mishap, where they disregarded a customer's request to avoid leaking styrofoam containers for takeout, their service remains exceptional. Plastic bags thankfully prevented any spillage until reaching home, although some of the Walnut Prawn sauce was unfortunately lost and leaked into the Combination Fried Rice.
Great Wall is our family’s favorite Chinese food here in town. The food and service are great. The only negative thing about Great Wall is the TV. Sometimes it’s the news or a movie. It kills the atmosphere in my opinion. Besides that I love the place!
Danny R — Google review
If you dine in the food is really good and the service is usually pretty good, too. If you have to take it to go, expect the styrofoam packaging they use to leak any sauces all over within the bag and this results in the food being tasteless by the time you get it home. I've asked them repeatedly not to put my curry chicken in styrofoam, and when they put it in the same (plastic) container as their soups it's fine, but otherwise it's a dry, tasteless mess. The bowl in the photo is the entirety of the sauces from General Tso's Chicken and Curry Chicken poured from the plastic bag. Really disappointed. Again.
Shawn H — Google review
My first visit to the Great Wall Restaurant and I'll definitely give it another visit! I arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday and the restaurant was pretty much empty...which was perfect, since had my choice of seats. Before I forget, they do a very good phone order service, so if you don't want to eat in...definitely give it a try. There have been some reviews about the staff being rude, I'm not sure it's about being rude, but I do think there's a bit of a language barrier. Food...I ordered the hot and sour soup and it was WONDERFUL! I also ordered the chicken and lettuce wraps, which was okay...slightly over-cooked and a bit salty for me. There's lots of free parking, which I'm sure varies depending on the time and day of the week. Lastly, they accept debit and credit cards, but not AMEX.

My son has bern raving about this restaurant for 2 months. We promised to bring him during spring break since it is a drive. His recommendation did not disappoint! The food was delicious and we had great service from Brendan. The entire staff was friendly, attentive and the food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back again.

My friend and I got traditional dishes and they were flavorless. We had to throw out our entire meal because they were nearly inedible. I've heard a lot of good stuff about this place and the new ownership, I was super disappointed to be met with the same food with the same taste.

Open for dine in as of October 16th. My family has been coming here since around 2010. My ex wife is Chinese, and along with my children, really looks forward to dine here. The owner and workers are really friendly and attentive. You get refills timely and your table visited often. For a family of 6 we ordered the following. Typically we get some combination of the following dishes with top of list being most often. 2 fried tofu Salt and pepper pork Beef Chow fun Calamari Curry beef Steamed rice Egg flour soup King Paolo chicken Mongolian beef

I think that they have up'd their business game. The menu has changed and looks real nice, the employees are polite, and the food is REAL good. We had the fried calamari and could not get enough! This place is nice and in a good location.

What an amazing level of rudeness! I'm from NYC so I can handle a little abrasive behavior. The lady who took our order may as well have told us to leave with how mean she was. The other person taking care of our table was unbelievably rude to my uncle (a soft spoken older gentlemen ) She was refilling my glass of water and asked if anyone else wanted. My uncle requested more water, she told him to pass his cup across the table(round table not a booth) he asked her to come around and she said "No I can't" she left and put the pitcher at another table. Never seen a rude and stubborn waitress like her. The entire meal she would walk back and forth past our table with looks of disgust. When my uncle went to tell someone what happened, she came to us surprised thst we were upset. She argued with us and said she didn't care. Pretty obvious she didn't care. Made me feel unwanted the entire time. What kind of hospitality is that?

Nestled in the charming village of Standard, The Standard Pour is a delightful culinary gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. After a fun day with llamas, visitors can unwind in this spacious eatery known for its friendly service and inviting atmosphere. The menu features a variety of mouthwatering appetizers, including surprisingly delicious Brussels sprouts and flavorful pot stickers. Their barbacoa fries are also a must-try!
This is a “standard” for locals. Good food, lots of beers on tap, and always a table available. It can be a bit loud in there, but no real complaints. The bathrooms are always clean, and that’s very important to me. I get the Ahi Tuna Salad when it’s available as a lighter option that’s still delicious.
Sean M — Google review
What an amazing place in the sleepy village of Standard! Came by here to see you after spending time with llamas. Friendly service tried the beer sampler. Burger will set you back $18 but the plates are large and the quality is very good. Nice atmosphere, lots of space. They asked me very carefully what I want on the burger, how well it’s cooked, and if I wanted my fries salted or unsalted. Definitely high end on service!

Stopped here on our way back from backpacking in the Eastern Sierra. Food was great, Elly our server delightful and fantastic beer list. We tried locally sourced appetizer salad which was delicious. Will visit again!
Deirdre T — Google review
The food was AMAZING! The service was slow and just indicative of the lifestyle in the mountains (everything is slower pace in the mountains than the valley). We ordered a few different appetizers and they were all really delicious. The Brussel sprouts looked burned but don’t let that fool you. They were absolutely delicious. The pot stickers were very flavorful as well. The barbacoa venom fries were so great. Can’t say if they were hot or not (one thought spicy the other thought not spicy enough)…. Be prepared to wait, as this spot is pretty popular. Definitely recommend and will return in the future.

Great food, friendly staff. Need I say more. Oh ya, the atmosphere was nice, too. Sports bar / restaurant.. It's totally worth eating here if you have not yet and are in the area! Alot of history in the building, and it's very cool to read more... I hope you enjoy your meal as much as I did.

Very nice building. A little loud. Food quality varies... Sometimes salads are overdressed, tacos are usually very good, but sometimes under seasoned... Or big chunks of rubbery chicken skin. Good selection of beers.

Really enjoyed our food here. Our server was also super friendly. The beer selection was fine w/ a bunch of semi-local options, so that was pretty cool. Foodwise, I got the Cubano w/ Garlic Fries and they were super good. My wife got the Fish and Chips and thought they were fine, if not spectacular. We also got the Barbacoa fries, and they were good. The interior was open and spacious with lots of seating.

Breakfast restaurant
I would highly rate My Garden Café if I could, as the breakfast was incredibly tasty and the service provided was excellent. The food stands out from the usual egg and bacon dishes, thanks to the skilled chef who made sure it had a flavorful taste. The server named Johnathon was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that my hash browns were prepared exactly how I wanted them.
Staying at the attached hotel over this weekend, I decided that for today I’d do breakfast and lunch at this My Garden Café. I walked in just before 8am and was met by the smell of fresh coffee, maple syrup and pancakes. Johnny warmly greeted me and said I could sit wherever I’d like. I ordered coffee and the French toast supreme. The coffee was substantive and not watered down. Bacon was thick cut and cooked to crispness but not over. Eggs scrambled and not overcooked. Adding to this, the overall ambiance is just welcoming and hospitable, no overwhelming corporate veneer/signage, you feel like the diner is run by human beings that want you to feel comfortable while you’re there. For lunch, I ordered fish and chips, 3 big fish tenders and a bed of fries. With all the fixings, lemon, malt vinegar, tartar sauce. Portion was enough to split with another person, easy. 10/10 would order again. If you happen to be in the area or staying at the hotel next to it like me, you gotta give this place a shot.

The story of My Garden Café is that of those who enjoy that classic home-style food that is “scrumptious… humble and nurturing” for sure the offerings at this café are indeed classic diner options, good proportions and to sweeten the deal an amazing promotional! On the website they speak of “the power of food and family” and I’ve had the pleasure of dining here with close loved ones. I can say that the coffee keeps on coming and that “Ham & Egg Special is too good to pass up especially if you got some labor to do after a hardy meal. If you are around the area and it’s before 9 am give it a shot! I greatly enjoyed the biscuits and gravy simple but filling!

My son and I eat here at the Sonora restaurant about 4 times or more a week and have been for a few years. Great menu, food is very good. The staff makes you feel very welcome. They are very friendly even the grumpy cook, and you feel like family. Jessica and my special needs son have become great friends, They all make him feel special. And he has fun with them. There are the regulars, and they all know each other. If you are looking for that special little local dinner this is the place.

We were in our way to pinecrest with a dog. It was a Wednesday morning. We called several places to see if they allowed pets. Almost all said no. The ones that did looked like weird breakfast, not traditional. We almost gave up then we found this place. Our server and host were so kind. When I say so kind, I mean the sweetest gals ever. I've had a better chicken fried steak before but it was still really good. Great prices, food was good, the best staff. Even if we don't have our dog I would go there. Hopefully we're around that area again.

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. breakfast was absolutely delicious and service was great!!! It’s nothing like the average egg and bacon. Their chef did a great job making the meal tasty and not bland. Our server Johnathon was friendly and provided excellent service. I asked for my hash browns to be certain way and he made sure they were. He also suggested the home made jam which was so delicious that we bought couple of jars to take home and we are enjoying them at home. We would certainly come back anytime we’re in town. THANKS! 👍👍😊

The basil, tomato, chicken, and mozzarella sandwich comes highly recommended as well. The portions are generous - perfect for sharing or taking home leftovers.
Super solid local brewery. The BBQ chicken wings were bomb and a huge quantity for a $13 appetizer. Beer was good, not great. Overall a great option in Sonora or when passing through the foothills.. Clean and inviting location with friendly staff

Stumbled on this gem Sonora Brewing Co. with superbly delicious garlic fries! Although we didn’t try any of their amazing beer collection we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The grilled veggie sandwich was filled with red bell peppers, zucchini, onions, and yummy melted cheese and their artichoke spread. Our server was sweet, hospitable, and suggested the basil, tomato, chicken and mozzarella sandwich which my Mom truly enjoyed. Portions are large, could only eat half, and fries are hot and crispy. Ambiance is casual, seems to be busy, but we had no wait and service was great! We enjoyed dining in the bar side filled with beer cylinders, an amazing guitar collection (which my Dad would’ve loved), and great big windows to enjoy its scenic historical downtown location. Thank you Sonora Brewing Co. can’t wait to go back and eat some more garlic fries!

Sonora Brewing Co., located conveniently within walking distance from Sonora Inn, where I am staying in downtown Sonora, offers a delightful culinary experience with its French dip sandwich and selection of craft beers. The French dip, with its tender slices of roast beef nestled in a soft bun and served with savory au jus for dipping, is a true delight for the taste buds. The perfect balance of flavors and textures makes it a must-try for any sandwich enthusiast. Pairing this delectable sandwich with one of Sonora Brewing's signature beers, such as their refreshing beer (apologies for not recalling the exact name), elevates the dining experience to new heights. The cozy atmosphere of Sonora Brewing, combined with its convenient location, makes it an ideal spot for both locals and travelers alike to unwind and enjoy a satisfying meal accompanied by quality craft brews. Overall, Sonora Brewing is a gem in the heart of downtown Sonora, offering delicious food, excellent beer, and memorable dining experiences.

My boyfriend and I visited yesterday May 13,2021 for lunch. Google had the operating times wrong so when we showed up at 10:45 the owner politely let us know they weren’t quite open but she let us sit down and poured us a beer. We ordered the pretzel with beer cheese as an appetizer which was so yummy! For our meals I had the pulled pork sandwich with garlic fries and my boyfriend had the linguicina sandwich and added the loaded fries for a little up charge. They were both so delicious and they surely don’t skimp on the meat! Also... the blackberry cider is to die for. The best cider I’ve had!

This was our second visit. The burgers are still good and the AC was on. The first visit no AC. We both ordered bacon cheese burgers ( his burger was missing the bacon). My husband had water. I got a blackberry cider(wonderful) . He had fries I had onion rings with barbecue sauce. So um this a brewery with nice shiny steel vats but we do not drink beer. We are here for the food . We came back a second time and brought my sister.

Good food. Nice selection of beer. The hefewizen was particularly refreshing. Excellent service even though the girl was hustling big time. This was on a Monday at mid-afternoon. I can only imagine what this place is like during busy times. Reuben was particularly good.

Good times over Memorial Day weekend turned even better with the quick pit stop at Sonora Brewing Company at downtown Sonora. Wide verity of beer selection has definitely the one to plead your need. From four ordered without menu, all were available and served. You might have to battle the flavor of the brew, cause you know, recipes are different. Hefeweizen that they had a little bit of sour aftertaste. Make sure you come hungry and get yourself one of those outstanding burgers! These guys are hard to compare with anything and have to try to belief. Very interesting design approach with brew tanks being in the dining hall and street seating by the barrels. Smiles and great hospitality makes you want to come back for more pleasant experience which will absolutely be the case. Thank you, Sonora Brewing Team!

The Candy Vault is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth and a love for retro candies. Housed in a former bank building, it features an actual vault inside where an extensive variety of treats are stored. From nostalgic favorites like candy cigarettes and wax candies to homemade dry ice candy, the store offers something for everyone. Visitors can also enjoy delicious ice cream and explore the Willy Wonka section within the vault.
Awesome candyshop with bad the name suggests a giant vault turned into a world of pure imagination. The man working was hilarious as we discussed favorite sodas and ice cream(which y'all have to try the floats). Definitely will be back when I'm in town

This was one of my favorite spots and “must visits” each time I was in the area. I visited yesterday, on my birthday, and sadly I was disappointed. The candy selection was sparse. Nothing interesting and definitely none of the novelty and nostalgic candies they used to have. They’re still playing Willy Wonka in the back room however. They’ve added an ice cream counter and appear to have obtained the space next door, adding an arcade. Cute, but I don’t see myself visiting again.

So we went there for ice cream and that was very good. However I bought a sea salt caramel and it turned out to be totally stale. Threw most of it away. I also noticed some chocolate candy under the counter that was infact showing that whitish appearance that stale chocolate gets. I asked for the dark chocolate version of my candy and the guy said it was but it certainly didn't taste like it. It tasted like milk chocolate. So im only giving 3 stars for the ice cream. No more stale chocolate for me thank you.

Some have stated the staff were mean, I/we didn't find that to be the case. There's even an actual bank vault inside the store, which house's the Willy Wonka section. Give them a try

Such a quaint little store. They have a variety of chocolate, candy, and ice cream too, but I didn't try the ice cream. There is an old bank vault inside where they keep more candy and continuously run Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Nice place to stop for a little treat!

The Sportsman is an outdoor recreation chain that offers a wide range of apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories for both adults and kids. While it's known for its selection of alcohol and firearms under one roof, the real highlight is the classic jukebox filled with country records that adds to the unique ambiance. Visitors can enjoy a cold beer while browsing through guns, ammo, and knives in this California cowboy country establishment. The friendly staff provides excellent customer service and quick assistance with safety certifications.
This is an awesome bar and store! Every time I visit Sonora I love to stop in have a beer and buy one of their cool shirts and maybe a new knife. Great prices on drinks & goods. Always friendly staff and patrons! Long Live The Sportsman! P.S. Please bring back the old shirt design with the dear on the pocket
Gian G — Google review
Everyone talks about the alcohol and firearms which is understandable. It is unique to see under one roof. However, the real reason for visiting should be the jukebox. It has been a decade since I was there last so things may have changed, but they had a jukebox packed with country records and it was still working. Classic sounds from a bygone era, it makes The Sportsman one of my favorite spots to have visited. Just imagine….you could possibly sip a Colt 45, purchase a .45 caliber revolver, and listen to an old Hank 45 at the same time. Outstanding.

I’ve traveled a lot of places and never been to a place like this. I had a cold beer and nice conversation but beware, you can buy guns, ammo, knives. Hey this is California cowboy country and this is how they do things. I thought it was cool but could see how some may not. The sign says it all, don’t go if it’s not you.

Went to seirra outfitters and big 5 for my safety cert with no luck because of both places practicing bad business. Ended up here, me and a buddy both got a safety cert within about 30 minutes and chatted with the employee (sorry can't remember his name) but great customer service and they were open when their business hours said. Inquired about lowers and a glock. I'll definitely be back

As one of the few places left that sell guns and serve beer, it was a sight to behold. The staff were very friendly, the beer was diverse and cheap, and the atmosphere was that of a local watering-hole. Very "old west" feeling to the place. Would definitely recommend taking a peek in and grabbing a brew.

Revive Coffee is a charming spot in the heart of downtown, housed in a beautifully preserved historical building that used to be an old drug store. The walls partially reveal the rock and mortar construction, adding to its unique appeal. The coffee here is highly recommended, with options like iced coffee and lattes topped with silky smooth foam art. The house coffee has been likened to renowned brands from the Bay Area and Sacramento.
Great iced lattes with a fantastic lavender flavor if desired. Best homemade croissant I’ve had in a long time. Stellar service and nice roomy atmosphere.

This is the place to understand coffee and make a complete and excellent extraction from start to finish according to the manual by principle. Before extraction, the hot extract is drawn from the machine to adjust the temperature to the group head and accurately weigh it to extract only the correct grams from the scale. Overall, there's no problem and I think it's a great coffee taste, but I just ordered a medium roasting acidity coffee, but it was not that much perfect set up at machine for my coffee so I made reviewed for them and they said will try to extract as my suggestion. I could feel that they are coffee lovers. The great interior decoration and atmosphere were very good. I recommend this place
Kai D — Google review
I stopped by this spot on my way from Yosemite to Lake Tahoe and it was the best decision! The coffee had a smooth body with a clean, tasty finish—perfect for a morning pick-me-up. I also tried the peach tea with lemonade, which was refreshing and delicious. They even have local beer on tap, a great chance to try something unique if you’re into it.

Cute old building in the heart of downtown! Used to be an old drug store. We had a delicious French toast bake. My partner had already dug into it before I could grab a photo of ours specifically. Such a treat! He had an oat milk cappuccino, I got an oat milk mocha (burnt my tongue but that’s because of the personal cup I brought). Great third wave space with lots of options for beverages, even if you don’t drink coffee!

So satisfying! Completely recommend their drive-through! My iced Americano was spot on and so much better than Starbucks. The morning bun was delicious and I love that it locally made. Customer service was above bar! This new location is so convenient and awesome!

I am a regular costumer. But Today, 07.30.25, service was terrible. I ordered a cup of coffee, counter person told me that they will put cream in it, but they put a regular milk, and told me it was cream and then I told them that it is not cream , she said we call it cream. Cream and milk do not taste the same. Then I ordered coffee latte and they gave me the same milk and said it is cream. On the bottle it says MILK. And charged me twice. And I had reward points for previous purchases but they disappeared and they to a different point system and I need to earn 50 points instead of 10 to get free drink. I threw away in the trash both cups because they taste terrible. I went to another coffee shop and bought a very tasty cup of coffee.

Coffee done right. The owner cares about coffee, and the people who grow it. My iced vanilla latte was just about perfect, and came with a compostable agave straw (so cool!). Now they're opening a drivethru by the baseball fields, which will make it so easy to stop in. Recommend!

I took some young girls to El Jardín on our way to Tioga Pass. We sat outside in the patio area and enjoyed the pleasant weather. The food was delicious, and the service was both excellent and friendly. They played soft Mexican Ranchera music, creating a relaxing atmosphere. I ordered flavorful dishes like Chile Rellenos and Chile Verde. The chips and salsa were also outstanding. Among all the Mexican restaurants I've tried, El Jardín is now my favorite.
Loved it. When it's hot outside it's great to sit below street level by the cute creek that runs through. Food and service great and the have the cutest bar area.

Perfect lil place.

Yet another good restaurant in a county with limited options that is staring down the barrel of a gun wielded by the totalitarian governor of this state and his mandate that he save our lives from something that never threatened us. But he will save us, even if it means killing us. The place was dead on the day I went, barely surviving with a couple staff handling primarily take out orders. Rumor is that supply issues due to the response to the “pandemic” is threatening their menu in the coming week. The salsa was good; a little heavy on the acid and light on salt and cilantro. The cabbage was good; a little heavy on the chilies and light on cilantro. I had the burrito grande. The pork was tender and flavorful. The rice and beans were of good quality. The pico was properly balanced and not used as an overwhelming filler. My only problem was perhaps a slight under saucing of the salsa verde. The service was good overall, with an attentive staff. uhm, got chicken strips off the KIDS menu because i wasn’t feeling good & needed something a bit light, asked them to put it in a to-go box for when i get home because i couldn’t eat at the time i was in the restaurant, 2 hours later after i’ve been home i get really hungry, go to heat them up & realized they are weirdly soft (not like they forgot to cook them up bc they were warm at the restaurant when i checked) look inside, raw! how delightful…. i’m just glad a kid wasn’t served these…still eating them once i cook them i’m too hungry for this, $9 chicken strips too…

Ramen restaurant
Yoshoku is a low-key restaurant in Sonora, California that offers a variety of Japanese dishes such as ramen noodles and poke bowls with assorted toppings. The restaurant has a casual and cozy atmosphere with traditional Japanese decor and friendly staff. Visitors have praised the delicious poke bowls and flavorful garlic-based ramen. Despite its unassuming appearance, Yoshoku's menu competes with those of larger cities in California, making it a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine.
Food was super fresh and delicious. We got a poke bowl and ramen bowl and enjoyed both! Service was fast and friendly. Slightly pricey for Sonora but a great experience all around.
Aditya K — Google review
This ramen was alright. The broths (we got black garlic and tonkotsu) were flavorful. I did not love the mushrooms, which were very sweet. I think if there were fewer mushrooms it would be better. It sucks you only get one piece of pork belly per bowl, and the meat was dry. The eggs were a bit overcooked and I wish they were marinated, but oh well. The taro bubble tea had great flavor, it was just super sweet at full sugar, so I'd recommend less. The jasmine green milk tea was not sweet at all so my boyfriend who dislikes sweet drinks really liked it. The service was extremely fast and our server was nice. Overall, I have cooked better ramen at home myself so I wouldn't pay to go here again, but it was decent. I also wish they'd put prices on the menus so I wouldn't have to pull out my phone to check the prices.

Pretty quick service and our gal was so willing to go over the menu worksheet with us. Attentive service as well. The food was beautifully presented and was delicious! The huge choice of Boba teas is impressive too.

Delicious Ramen was not something I was expected to find in the foothills! I recently moved up from the Central Valley and have been exploring the different restaurants in the area. I ordered the gyoza appetizer and my party had 3 different bowls of ramen. The black garlic oil was delicious. The pork belly was thick cut, so that may be divisive. The tonkotsu was delicious and creamier than I was expecting. Very velvety. The spicy sesame was a pleasant surprising balance of heat and savory. If you’re in the area and want a bowl of soup to warm you from the snow, try this place out.
Adam S — Google review
I don't know if this is authentic or not but I really enjoyed the spicy miso ramen (I had chicken in mine) there was just enough heat (for me) to make my nose run, the flavour of the whole dish was spicy and sweet and the noodles were soft and creamy; server was great too. The ordering process was a bit different, as we had never been there before but next time we shall know what to do - they give you a qr code to scan, which takes you to their website which has all the prices on and then you have a tick sheet, which you hand to the server.
Helen M — Google review
Food just OK, nothing special, dirty floors, cobwebs in the windows and had to keep flies from sharing my food. Ice only on request in the water, no lemons or low-sodium soy sauce. Cleaning products sitting on one of the tables. Not a very inviting atmosphere.

Amazing vintage collection! It has a mini bar where your partner can enjoy drinks while you soak in books. The place has antiques too and good collection of local history. Yianni's Grill is a captivating restaurant that offers both authentic Greek and American cuisine. The menu showcases a variety of delectable dishes, such as the shrimp plate served with pita, tzatziki, and Greek rice, as well as their tantalizing calamari and renowned spanakopita dinner. The food is truly exceptional, prepared with real family recipes that deliver an unparalleled taste experience.
Yianni's Grill is a Greek oasis in Tuolumne County that instantly transports you to the Mediterranean with inviting decor, cultural music, and a welcoming staff that makes you feel like family. This family-owned business features a large menu showcasing the very best of Greek cuisine. The food is fresh, delicious, and consistent. Tonight, we had the bacon-wrapped tenderloin with mushrooms and wine sauce. Each bite melts in your mouth. Chef Tommy knocked it out of the park! They also have a great beer and wine list, and you must order the baklava to satisfy your sweet tooth. Yianni, the proprietor, personally checks in with his customers, always greeting them with a warm smile and making you feel like an old friend. It doesn’t get any better, and we keep coming back! Address: 275 S Washington St, Sonora, CA 9537

Me and a friend decided to check out the local cuisine in town, and we were quite pleased to find a vegetarian-friendly Greek restaurant. I had pita bread and hummus as an appetizer, and I had the vegetarian gyro with a side of greek fries. Food tasted great. What’s even better, the restaurant is recognized by the Blue Zones Project (an organization that promotes longevity through healthy lifestyles). We were informed of that by our very friendly waitress, Darlene. She made our dining experience complete with her sweet hospitality. I definitely will come back here whenever I pass through town again.

Found this little Greek place while visiting Gold country. Had a great dinner with the combo kabobs, grilled octopus, moussaka and Greek salad. The staff was very nice! Even the cook came out to greet us and see how our meal was! Definitely will come again when I visit again!

I would highly recommend this place. I heard about Yianni's from a co-worker and she was right, this place doesn't disappoint! Everything was decilcous. We got the Patty Melt, Greek Burger, and Greek Fries. I didn't see any desserts on the menu so I asked if they had anything and we ended up ordering a slice of Baklava Cheesecake. We even got good parking right outside the doors.

Been in twice now and still impressed. Had the salmon with the spinich rice, of course with the again solid side salad. And the Bougatsa with blueberries was amazing! Our server was on top of it all night for us, she was awesome. The authentic music makes the atmosphere very cheerful. This is a great little spot. Even the side salad was just a solid, good salad. Lots of vegetarian options.

This was written on yelp as well. But putting on google to help the business out. First off if I could give 10 stars I would. I went to Yiannis Grill with my family a few days ago. At first I had my suspicions because of greek food in downtown Sonora but those quickly escaped my mind. We quickly sat down with the owner of the establishment Michael saying hello as well as the wait staff so very friendly. My mom and dad who have been to Greece before said that the overall look and feel of the restaurant were just like Greece. The waitress came almost immediately and took our order. I got the Saganaki and grilled lamb with dessert being the Baklava. It tasted amazing some of the best food I have ever had. When they brought out the cheese it was flaming and tasted amazing. We soon got our main courses which were spectacular couldn't have been made better and the owner came over and started taking with us. I loved how he didn't make us seem like we were an average family coming to eat but instead got our names, and asked about us and where we were from etc... He was such a nice guy and we had a great talk with him. I ended up getting the baklava for dessert which was amazing. Overall left with a full belly and great vibes.

Yannis Grill is hands-down my Greek-ish happy place! From the moment I waltzed in craving gyro swag to the very last bite of those legendary Greek fries, I was on cloud nine - or should I say, Mount Olympus? 🪄 The staff treated me like one of the family (thanks for the extra tzatziki, heroes!), and the cozy blue-and-white vibes felt like a mini Greek vacay. I’m still dreaming of that Big Fat Greek Burger - seriously, it’s aptly named. Perfect spot for date night, family brunch, or just a solo feast that makes you feel like royalty. Opa! 🎉 Highlights: authentic Greek-American menu (gyros, spanakopita, lamb skewers) in a warm, friendly atmosphere with top-notch service - blue and white decor adds that Greek flair.

All I can say is we will definitely make this a regular spot when we are in the area. Great food that is homestyle and delicious, even better service, the owner is so friendly and very welcoming. She had great suggestions for entertainment as well. Definitely recommend this spot.

Always a warm and friendly welcome. The menu offers an array of outstanding, fresh and tasty dishes. Portions are plenty so there's no leaving hungry. Stop in and enjoy a meal. While there say hello to Violet, the owner and Jose, the cook. They both do an outstanding job!

I HIGHLY suggest you get the biscuits and gravy or add the gravy on your breakfast. One of the best I’ve ever had. Owner was slammed so that’s why service wasn’t 5 stars but if I’m in town I will be returning. You won’t be disappointed. I got the ‘Logger breakfast’

Foothills Café is worth the stop for breakfast. A locals' place for sure, with warm hospitality offered by the owner's family and comfort food at its best. After tasting our order I was surprised there wasn't a line out the door. We ordered the linguica burrito, Denver omelet and chorizo omelet. The burrito was huge. Unless you are in the mood for a lumberjack size breakfast I recommend sharing these monstrosities. The omelets were both excellent with lots of flavor.

Good hard working people with great attitudes. Great food also. Massive portions, quality and quantity. I don't give 5 stars because we can all improve.

One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if it’s still on the menu but “Joe’s Scramble” was a full plate of eggs and so many veggies and clumps of slightly spicy ground sausage.
