Inspiration Point (Emerald Bay) is a state park that offers spectacular views of a Scandinavian castle and a lake. Visitors can find information boards and restrooms to make their visit more comfortable. The place tends to get crowded, making it hard to find parking space, as many people come here to enjoy the stunning views. However, some visitors may feel disappointed by the number of trees blocking their view of the bay.
An absolute MUST SEE when in Lake Tahoe! This scenic outlook truly lives up to its name… Inspiration Point!!! Guaranteed breathtakingly beautiful panoramic views of the crystal-clear lake and surrounding mountain scape. A must-stop spot for photos 📸 and a great place to take in a geological masterpiece & natural beauty.
Tania W — Google review
Every time I come here to Inspiration Point in Emerald Bay, I’m amazed all over again. The blue lake surrounded by tall trees and cliffs never gets old. Spending a few hours here is always peaceful and refreshing. The trip from Sacramento is definitely worth it for this beautiful, calm spot in nature.
Raj L — Google review
You'll find some of the most stunning views of Lake Tahoe here! We were happy to see that the roads are well-maintained and that there's a dedicated bike lane for most of the trip—perfect for a scenic ride. Parking isn't free, and since I'm not sure of the exact hours, I'd suggest looking them up beforehand to make your trip as smooth as possible. Definitely a must-see spot!
Mr. M — Google review
Amazing views of Emerald Bay, absolutely breathtaking! Came here after visiting South Lake Tahoe, but be careful driving coming from the east. You’ll be driving on the lake view side near some cliffs with no guard rails and the roads were winding. Drive slow and be safe! There’s also a small creek running through this area and pretty cool to hear the water running. No one there to collect the fee, but it was like $10 which we placed in an envelope and dropped into a box slot.
Sam T — Google review
A beautiful place to look out and see Lake Tahoo. There is a $6 fee for parking for less than 30 minutes. The bathrooms are pit toilets and no hand sanitizer--come prepared.
Beth H — Google review
This was my last day in Lake Tahoe and I woke up early to see the sunrise on Emerald Bay. It was the most amazing experience I’ve ever had in my life. My mom, daughter, friend and myself were there alone until 7:00 it was priceless.
Killa K — Google review
First grand view of the Emerald Bay, if you are approaching from the south side. Great view of the bay, the Fennel Island and upper end of the Eagle Falls. This place is not only rich in it's natural beauty but also in several stories that have taken birth here over the century.
Prosun R — Google review
Great views of emerald bay though view partially obstructed by trees. Easier to find parking here as compared to Emerald Bay Lookout parking as visitors leave shortly after stopping to enjoy the viewpoint.

This old mansion feels incredibly peaceful. Sunlight filters through the trees and hits the stone walls, creating a beautiful, nostalgic atmosphere. A quiet spot full of character.

We took and 30 minute tour and it was pretty cool to see the inside of this historic house. It was like $12 for an adult ticket. Be sure to walk and explore the grounds

Very cool place to visit! And I liked how you were able to take pictures as most museums it is not allowed. A must see!

We couldn’t have been happier with our decision to get married at the stunning Hellman-Ehrman Mansion. Our wedding day felt truly magical in this beautiful, historic setting. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere was intimate and unforgettable — it was everything we had dreamed of and more. A special thank-you to Ben, the park ranger, who went above and beyond to help coordinate every detail. From answering all our questions to recommending trusted vendors, he was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the entire process. We feel so fortunate to have been married in such a meaningful and picturesque location. Hellman-Ehrman Mansion will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we highly recommend it to any couple looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding venue. With love and gratitude, Hayley & Austen

Cool spot and great tour guide. We learned a lot of interesting information. I wish we could have seen basement or top floor though.

Enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe without the crowds! We actually passed up emerald bay on the way here because we couldn’t get a space to park. And ended up finding the highlight of our day trip. Crystal clear water, forest, mountain, it had everything. The pier and water made jr seem like it’s an exotic beach somewhere instead of a lake. Very beautiful.
Joseph H — Google review
We did the mansion tour. Its fun to learn about history and travel back in time and imagine what life was like. Very pretty grounds
Troy M — Google review
Cannot give this place enough stars! Came for the rails in the water and left after taking a guided tour of the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion (15$ per person). The tour is very chill and you’ve plenty of time to explore the many areas of the gigantic house. Been to Vikingsholm before but Hellman-Ehrman’s mansion seems in better shape/renovated and above all else the lack of crowds! Highly recommend checking out Hellman-Ehrman Mansion if you can’t find parking for Vikingsholm The house is situated atop a hill overlooking the lake. There are plenty of areas to access the lake from here also Parking is $10 for the whole day and can be used at other parking locations in the California side of Lake Tahoe. Once done with Hellman-Ehrman Mansion you can try finding parking at Vikingsholm later during the day when parking frees up.

Hiking Trails
Eagle Rock Trailhead offers easy access and free parking, making it a convenient starting point for a short hike with stunning panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. The trail is less than a mile long, providing hikers with some of the best vistas on the west shore of the lake. With a moderate difficulty level, the 620-foot climb to Eagle Rock is relatively easy and well worth the effort. The trail isn't usually crowded, offering visitors a peaceful experience in nature.
Absolutely beautiful payoff at the top atop the bluff overlooking the lake. Stunning! Nice, moderate climb up to get the blood pumping too and get a nice workout in the process. Panoramic views from atop, 100% worth it and highly recommended. Parking right off of 89, fills up quickly.
FFKDTP1 — Google review
The trail is not that tough and decent to walk up. the rock placed at high but you can see a great view on Lake Tahoe. Giant trees are also good to see and interesting. It feels like me in Minecraft game kind of.
Joona Y — Google review
Starts as a rather dusty uphill hike but ends with a stunning view from atop the rock. Many different viewpoints makes it a private experience no matter how many others are there. Very short; 45 minutes or less out and back if you're just going to the top. Parking is a paved turnout on the road.
Eric T — Google review
What a fantastic trail with epic scenery overlooking the entire Tahoe basin! What I would call a three out of five hike with only a 15 minute walk to the top, but even if you take longer, the views are completely worth it. In fact, the view was so epic that I decided to propose to my girlfriend at the top. And I couldn’t think of any better place to do it with more epic views in any better setting.
Trent C — Google review
This is a good hike. It's all uphill and but not too bad with shady spots to take a break. The views were amazing, totally worth it!
John M — Google review
Great trail for a family hike. It's short, but has some opportunities for kids to climb up and around rocks a bit. Trail is narrow at parts and dusty dirt can be a big slippery, so choose your shoes accordingly. The view at the top is one of the best I've seen! Great spot for a vista picnic.

Nestled along the picturesque west side of North Lake Tahoe, the West Shore area enchants visitors with its serene beauty, where lush pine forests meet the stunning blue waters. This charming region is home to delightful towns like Kings Beach and Tahoe City, as well as the renowned Granlibakken Resort. Among its gems is West Shore Market, a chic deli and curated market that’s perfect for grabbing a quick lakeside lunch.
Great little market to stop by and grab some goods when you're at lake Tahoe. Their deli is phenomenal. In the evening they serve flatbread pizzas which are absolutely delicious. Great selection of snacks, beer, wine, champagne, cold drinks, chips and more.

Such a cute little spot with vegan-friendly options whether you want to cook your own meal or grab something on the go. Warm sandwich is a nice treat, they have oat and soy milk for your morning drinks, fresh fruit and veggies, salads, dairy-free ice-creams and chocolate spread, plant/based HU chocolate and more.
Galina C — Google review
Great little market, deli, and coffee shop. They have a great beer selection including local beers, a wine cellar, an ATM, the basic food essentials, a bit of dog/cat food, and much more. The staff is friendly. Breakfast is from 7-10 and lunch is from 10-3:30 Only downside is it’s a bit pricey, but it makes sense given the location
Paul-Elie N — Google review
Westshore Market is the perfect little local gem! It’s a cute, well-stocked spot that has pretty much everything you need in a pinch—plus some great surprises. Their coffee selection is solid, and the deli sandwiches are next level. I got the vegetarian and the BLT with avocado—both were absolutely delicious. The vibe is great, the energy is warm, and the staff are super friendly. Love having a place like this to pop into for quality and good feels.
Victoria S — Google review
I’ve been to the west shore market a handful of times. Most often and I go there to just get a sandwich. Today I stopped in my with my wife and we got the turkey club. That’s how much is amazing! The staff there was very super friendly to on our way out we made sure to grab a cookie to go with her sandwich. But I really like about this place is there is also a clean restroom. It’s a great place to be able to stop. It’s right off the highway 89. It’s also super easy parking.

This is my Go To place before I settle on the beach. The fresh baked desserts vary, but man if you’re there before they run out then you’ll be deliciously rewarded. For lunch, you can’t go wrong with the Cubano. The flatbreads are mouthwatering too but they serve them later in the day only TH- SAT.
J. P — Google review
An absolutely delicious sandwich after a day on the water. We come here every year and it’s never disappointing. There are also gluten free options.
Blake S — Google review
Today’s $18 club/turkey sandwich was very disappointing. Ended up with a chunk of the end of the turkey roll which was rubbery and not edible, tomato mushy and avocado was like a thin spread of store bought quac. We’ve eaten here many times before but this time quality of ingredients way down and prices just too high for quality of ingredients getting. Threw out 3/4 of the sandwich. Friend got a tuna melt which was a cold tuna salad sandwich. Another disappointment. Maybe it was a bad day for sandwich making, but $60 for two disappointing sandwiches, small bag of chips and two waters was ridiculous when you look at the quality of ingredients in the sandwiches.

Commons Beach is a popular spot on Lake Tahoe, offering a variety of activities for visitors. It's perfect for swimming and sunbathing, with picnic and BBQ areas available. The beach also hosts family movie nights and concerts, making it an ideal destination for relaxation and entertainment. Water enthusiasts can enjoy lounging on the sand or engaging in water sports like water skiing, parasailing, kayaking, jet-skiing, paddle boarding, and fishing.
It is a great place to relax. Playground for kids, small but nice sandy beach area. Water looks clean. It's has a very nice scenery as well.

A nice little community beach with about too much in the way of tourists. It's not the best beach on Lake Tahoe but one where you could bring a family and just relax. There's a playground for kids here.

Lake Tahoe Adventure-Commons Beach We went here on Thursday, June 19, 2025! We set off on a beautiful 2-hour drive and finally arrived at Lake Tahoe around 11 AM. Parking can be tricky here, but we got lucky with a great spot after a little wait. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by friendly guards and the vibrant Farmers Market bustling with local goodies. The beach was stunning. We found a perfect spot to set up our picnic right on the sandy shores with a breathtaking view of the lake. The kids had an absolute blast playing in the sand, swimming, and renting kayaks. The staff and other visitors were so welcoming, making our day even more enjoyable. With clean facilities and plenty of space to relax, we spent nearly 6 hours soaking in the sun, playing, and making memories together. If you’re looking to escape the heat this summer, I highly recommend Lake Tahoe! It’s the perfect family getaway.

The Penny Bear just above Commons Beach is a MUST SEE while exploring around Lake Tahoe - a huge Bear sculpture that has over 200,000 pennies glued on edge to simulate the bears fur! Who could have imagined that this would even be possible? Also incredible views across the lake, beautiful beaches, great walking paths, free restroom at the top of the stairs on the south end of the FREE public parking lot below the main highway. Just a great place to spend some time! Even a great playground for the kids!
Steve K — Google review
Nice beach, there is a children’s playground. Parking is free but small. A stage is set up, and in the evening a lot of people gather for concerts. There are changing rooms and toilets (clean). The beach itself is generally good. The entrance to the water is gentle and long, with a mix of sand and stones. There is a thin layer of silt on the bottom.

Just south of the public city beach. This area is a bit more beachy, and was more crowded throughout the day. It feels like a place to take a family to enjoy a microcosm of beach life without having most of the danger or adventure of what bigger/ocean beaches have to offer. It's a moderately developed area, so there were lots of people around. Feels quite kid-friendly.

The lounge also serves up unique concoctions like the Ranch Water and Devils Tongue.
Friends took me out for a treat to this place and with no expectations nor idea of where we were going, I was absolutely pleased with their introduction to this place. I don't know, there's so much to food to review as while we were waiting for our food, parades of dishes went whizzing by as servers served the food. I had the garlic shrimp dish which I totally loved and could have eaten two dishes of those. And above the delicious food, we went there at twilight and got seated in the open air backyard area, the atmosphere was electric with such a fun vibe. Perhaps it was just the excitement of a new place to me or that I was with good friends, or the great energy everyone had, but it was curiously memorable and a place I'd go to repeatedly. It was awesome!

Scottie has done an incredible job adding a much needed restaurant and bar near Tahoe City. Food was great, service was amazing, and our entire party of 7 only wished we had discovered it earlier to go back more than twice. Thanks Scottie for a great bar and restaurant!
Bruce S — Google review
Terrible service. Terrible food. Waited 1.5 hours as 5 parties that arrived after us were sat before us, it was visible on the hostess tablet, but she told us that we would be next while giving tables to other patrons. In the meantime, the owner switched tables and spoke to his employees with a rude energy snapping at his employees and demanding attention at his table. Nothing like taking tables away from patrons/employees at your own restaurant on a Friday night. When we were finally sat, it was at a ridiculous table, literally attached to the bar in the most loud & uncomfortable spot. Despite the fact that every server in the restaurant had to bump past us - We sat for 20+ minutes before having to ask 2 to 3 employees for some kind of service. When somebody did finally show up, Looking like a manager? he told us that he would take care of us and get our order in quickly. We waited another 25+ minutes for cold, soggy, mushy, over-seasoned, terrible food. He never returned to our table to check in for the rest of the evening. (even though he walked within 1 foot of us probably a half dozen times behind the bar) However, he sent a different waitress with the (full) check indicating that he was not there to help and couldn’t handle the situation on his own. We explained our experience to this waitress, she was kind and accommodating and comped our drinks. There are five different types of meat served in three ways, that’s the entire menu… generally simple menus mean good /fast food, unfortunately, that’s not the case at Shadyside. I will say the guacamole was good. This place strikes me as another high turnover, poor quality, poorly organized restaurant that will likely survive in Tahoe simply because there are enough tourists/turnover to keep it afloat. We will not be returning, or recommending this restaurant to anybody. For reference, we all live and work in the service industry in the Tahoe area. Not our first rodeo.

We ordered chips & guac, a birria burrito bowl and a plate of chicken tinga nachos. Everything was good, but the nachos were definitely the highlight!

Food was pretty good but my goodness is the service atrocious. Perfect place if you want a leisurely 3 hour dinner. Had to get up to get the servers attention while she was trading life stories with another table.

Prime Mexican food right next to the lake, perfect place for an early evening meal with good drink, very good food and service with a smile. Nestled in the heart of Tahoe City, The Blue Agave was a beloved destination for those seeking authentic Mexican cuisine paired with stunning lake views. This charming eatery offered a delightful menu featuring handcrafted margaritas and traditional dishes made from scratch, ensuring every bite was bursting with flavor. Guests enjoyed generous portions of lean meats, delicious tamales, and savory queso while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere created by friendly staff who were always ready to share a laugh.
The Blue Agave restaurant is pretty good. Not too crowded when we went there. We got a table for 6 immediately. They served tortilla chips with salsa. The ordered food 🍲 came within few minutes. Very tasty overall.

Mexican restaurant with outdoor seating and alcohol. Came here on a Saturday night around 7:30pm; we had gone to what seemed like practically every other restaurant in Tahoe City, but they were all full and so were relieved when there was some availability at the Blue Agave. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Credit cards are accepted. Bathrooms are available by the bar. There are tables for large groups. Food-wise, the portions are just right and if you have a lighter appetite, you can split a burrito (option for wet or dry). The food is Americanized, but I did appreciate the fact each dish is made to order. However, we did have to wait about 40 minutes for our food to come out because our order was lost when they switched the roll of paper for upcoming orders. To his credit, our waiter did make us aware of why there was such a long wait after we inquired about our drinks. I get that it was the weekend after California officially “reopened” so I’m sure there’s some kinks in their process that need to be worked out. Overall, it’s a casual restaurant that does have outdoor seating that’s across the lake and is good when you want to take it slow and easy.

Mexican meals with a great view. The service was outstanding, with friendly and good humored staff. The food was good. The server said they make about 90% of items scratch. The portions were generous. The meats were lean and well portioned.... and tamales on point. The queso was pretty tasty, too. Overall, our group of four was pleased, and would recommend this place.

Excellent Mexican food and a great location in Tahoe City. Sit outside and enjoy a view of Lake Tahoe. We had the Chile Verde and a Pork Burrito with the House Guacamole. Yum, yum and yum. Dined here on12th Nov after a tiring day of travel. The waitstaff was welcoming and we were seated immediately. The place feels a bit dated (not dingy) and a bit dimly lighted, that's just our opinion. Water, juice, chips and salsa arrived quite quikly and the margherita took a few more minutes to be served. Chips and salsa were alright, nothing significant either in flavor or freshness. The house margherita was actually really good, and the rest of the food we ordered in general was very tasty and fresh. We ordered nachos, veggie quesadilla, chile relleno, cheese quesadilla (kids menu). Veggie quesadilla was the clear winner with Chile Relleno leaving a lot to be desired in terms of flavor. The portion sizes, even for dinner, didn't seem too big and each dish was enough for one person and not overly filling. Full marks to the attentive staff though that checked on us many times and also helped us squeeze in our last order just as the kitchen was closing. The restrooms were clean but they are in the bar area and this section was filled with people, and it seemed to be a nice and happy crowd.
Krishna D — Google review
Great food and great service! The restaurant was taking all precautions necessary which was a big relief and they ensured social distancing at the same time serving food in a way to make you comfortable. The food was pretty good but very cheesy. A lot more cheese than recommended.
Heet S — Google review
The Mexican restaurant was blah. Food is bland and is missing the Mexican Flare, spices, taste. Meat tasted cheap and lacked any flavor. Food was cold and not hot when served. Salsa and chips. This place goes cheap on salsa - blended to a point to delivery watery salsa to save on money. Not enjoyable. When we eat and enjoy food there is a lot of yum, oh, ah. This time the entire family was quietly just trying to get through meal. Mexican food is usually delicious and priced middle or road. This place is expensive and food taste is blah. Taco Bell is a lot better tasting. However, positive note - bar is fantastic. Drinks are very strong. Good bartender that delivers. Drinks are also overpriced. Not much more to write since experience was less than perfect.

The restaurant boasts an elegant and contemporary setting, providing a sophisticated atmosphere for guests to savor a fusion of global flavors. With a focus on seasonal Californian cuisine, the menu features innovative dishes ranging from delicate sushi and European-inspired pastas to aromatic Middle Eastern creations.
Great restaurant. Delicious food. Beautiful serving of dishes. Excellent service. We really liked it. I recommend.

Surf and turf was perfect. Great chowder, good dumplings. Ambiance is airy with plenty of space between fellow dinners. Amenities are clean and taken care of. Portions leave room for desert and if the service was faster I would have tried that along with a port. We got bored looking at the sweets menu and then impatient. Thankfully we did not have to wait for the check.

The restaurant made a thoughtful effort to make my reservation feel special, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall service fell short of expectations. There was an issue with my food order, and while mistakes can happen, neither the hostess nor the waiter took ownership of the situation, which was disappointing. The food itself was very tasty, but the portions were small and the pricing felt very steep for what was offered. While there were some highlights, the experience overall didn’t quite live up to what I was expecting.

Words cannot adequately describe the amazing meal my wife and I just had. We were looking for a grocery store and passed Wolfdale’s. My wife looked it up on her Find Me Gluten Free app which never fails us and it got rave reviews. Our waiter, Bob, immediately knew that my wife had food allergies that she needed to work with. We’ve been to many restaurants including Michelin Star restaurants but never had we had a meal like this. We both had the salmon but because of my wife’s allergies it had to be prepared differently from mine, but with were incredible. As a starter we had the Asian beets which were great as well. If we lived here we would likely be eating here very often. The chef has been been here since March 1978 and we understand why. You will be amazed if you frequent Wolfdale’s.

All the food was delicious. The sashimi with Ahi and Hamachi was delicious. The Thai Seafood Stew was amazing, the shrimp, scallops and lobster were all cooked to perfection with a flavorful sauce. The Wild King Salmon with lemon ricotta ravioli was mouthwatering. The dessert was good too.

One of the best restaurants in Tahoe City… some tasty and unique flavors with Asian fusion. Good seafood and steak and a wide selection of drinks. Gyoza was our favorite appetizer we had here. Nice atmosphere and decor and outdoor seating with lake views during the summer months. Recommended.

Nice restaurant with ample parking in front and the side. I'd say best seats in the house are on the outside patio, on the second floor, to see great views. The bottom outside area is nice also, especially the fireplace table in the corner, underneath trees. Asian fusion, I was impressed by their tempura oysters and poke cones. Entrees were pretty good. Appreciate them accommodating an elderly member in my party who couldn't get up on the high chairs, so they moved us to another table. Waitress was attentive and charming. Nice place to walk on the docks just a few minutes after to burn some calories after a large/ heavy meal.

Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge is a charming log-walled resort located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. The lodge offers rustic-chic lodging with picturesque lake views and cozy fireplaces, providing a perfect retreat for both locals and visitors. The resort features two distinct dining experiences - a casual eatery and a fine dining restaurant.
We visited Sunnyside Restaurant during our trip to Lake Tahoe with our family of five and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant offers absolutely stunning views of the lake — the kind that make you want to linger a little longer. The food was delicious, with every dish tasting fresh and well-prepared. Service was decent and efficient, allowing us to enjoy our meal without feeling rushed. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended if you’re in the Lake Tahoe area!

I'm giving this place three stars, mainly for the VIEW! Arrived right at 11 AM when the restaurant opened and snagged a spot on the patio with a jaw-dropping view of Lake Tahoe and the boats. The staff was friendly, but they make you wait until the clock strikes 11 before taking your name. The wait wasn't too bad though. Our waiter was super nice and gave us some great food recommendations. We tried the halibut, halibut macaroni salad, and bok choy salad, all of which were delicious. The only downside was the rice - it seemed like it had been sitting out for a while and was as hard as a rock. If you order the halibut, make sure to ask for fresh rice! The real star of this place is the amazing views, so if you're all about that scenic dining experience, this is the spot for you. Oh, and the soda was flatter than a pancake - definitely skip that!

We had a fabulous dinner with a lovely view of the lake. We really enjoyed the cocktails and our various entree choices. The highlights of the meal were the double rainbow out over the lake and the warm, personable service we received from Lauren, our waitress. She made great recommendations, helped us with our group photo, and checked in just enough to feel helpful and friendly but not intrusive. Great spot!
Tamara H — Google review
We had lunch for 6 and we found the menu limited, premium pricing for not premium food. The cocktails were average. The seafood curry had very limited seafood and a ton of curry sauce which was way too sweet. The salmon bowl, the salmon portion was small and dry, the hawaiian chicken was dry and bland. The Fish Tacos were liked. We boated in, the guys on the tender and dock were very nice and our server was good. We were disappointed in the food. The location is amazing, but we will boat into a different restaurant next time.

Went to Sunnyside for dinner 2 weeks ago, not very crowded, but the hostess gave us the option of waiting for a waterfront table, which we did. We waited about 20 minutes when a few tables cleared and our buzzer went off. The girl then proceeded to take us to a seat against the bar. I told her she was mistaken that we had waited for a waterfront table. She informed me that the manager said those tables were for guests with reservations and I could take the table near the bar or leave, I chose option B. The depths that this place has fallen to since Covid are just sad. Please sell this place to someone who cares about the hospitality business. Even with the spectacular view, this place is no longer worth the hassles for food that has steadily declined in quality.

My wife and I visited the Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge for a wedding reception this past weekend, and while this was a special event, the staff all did a fantastic job keeping up with our requests. The cocktails were quite good, with a solid assortment to suit every taste. The food was delicious, and we ensured that none of it went to waste. We don't get up to Lake Tahoe very often, but this is a place I would definitely recommend for a group meal or cocktails near the water.

We paddleboarded to this spot and waited at the bar for our table. The view is absolutely gorgeous, which is clearly part of what you’re paying for. Drinks were on the pricier side and a bit weak, so I’d recommend sticking with beer. Food was also a little pricey, but again—you’re really paying for the atmosphere and amazing view. We had the fried calamari, fish tacos, and one other dish I can’t quite remember. Everything was just okay—nothing really stood out. That said, our server was great, super friendly and attentive. Overall, it’s a decent spot if you’re looking to relax, have a drink, enjoy the view, and nibble on a few bites.

Review about restaurant only: We were seated right on the water, super pretty view of the lake. Our waiter Bode was friendly and attentive and our food came out fairly quickly. My favorite was the fried zucchini, and their salmon bowl was pretty good too.

Rosie's Café is a charming eatery located in Tahoe City, offering a nostalgic dining experience with its antique-filled setting and nature views. This enduring favorite serves up homemade American fare, including classic diner dishes like Chicken Fried Steak and Biscuits and Gravy made from scratch. The eclectic decor, featuring vintage memorabilia hanging from the rafters, adds to the unique atmosphere of this family-friendly restaurant.
Friendly place with luscious food, breakfast til 2:00 pm, attentive staff, menu with something for everyone. My wife usually takes out 1/2 of her meal as leftover, but the veggie sandwich was too good not to consume right away. Didn’t try the fries or soup. Oatmeal is so hot you will burn your mouth if you’re not careful.

“Where Taxidermy Meets Toast Points” Rosie’s Café in Tahoe City is what happens when your grandmother’s attic, a taxidermy shop, and a really solid brunch spot all collide in a beautiful, maple-syrup-scented explosion. You walk in and instantly wonder if you’ve stepped into a 1970s time capsule curated by someone with a deep emotional connection to moose heads and model airplanes. And I mean that in the BEST way. The food? Picture your childhood comfort meals if your childhood was spent vacationing with eccentric millionaires who loved sourdough and bacon. My eggs were fluffier than a conspiracy theory podcast host. The hashbrowns were crispy enough to reawaken my soul. Even the toast had that smug, buttery confidence you only get at high elevations. The service was fast, friendly, and full of genuine Tahoe charm, i.e., everyone looked like they could ski backwards with a Bloody Mary in hand. Respect. Now, let’s talk restrooms — because this is where Rosie’s separates itself from the herd. The men’s room features a trough. That’s right, fellas, prepare to relive your high school gym locker room glory days, shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers, making awkward eye contact with the elk on the wall. But wait — plot twist — the water temperature at the sink was HOT. Not “lukewarm surprise” hot. I’m talking “therapeutic spa hand treatment” hot. Five stars just for that. Final thoughts: Come for the food, stay for the ambiance, and leave with cleaner hands than you expected. Rosie’s is a Tahoe treasure, a brunch fever dream, and a celebration of all things weird, warm, and wonderful.

Elise at Rosie’s took good care of us. She, individually, is worth coming again and again providing spectacular service and attitude. The biscuit and gravy was alright. The pancakes, had browns, and breakfast sandwich were terrific. The mocha espresso tastes like it’s supposed to (other shops in the area serve something that tastes like dishwasher instead of espresso). We purchased extra zucchini bread to take home. Spectacular service, good food, and wonderful people. Thank you, Elise, for making our visit that much better.

Our server, Kira, was spectacular! She was very attentive, breakfast food was great and the decorations were cute. They also have a mini alcohol slushie (during summer) stand at the front of the store! We would come back here.

Good breakfast place, not very expensive, super fast service (ordered and got food within 15 min or less), eggs benedict was pretty good, but the pancakes were amazing. Best pancakes I have ever had.
Luka H — Google review
Food was pretty good but the portions were incredibly small for the price. I get that’s it Tahoe but 16 dollars for a burrito that looks like this is ridiculous, my friend described the burrito as bland and lacking the salsa it was suppose to have. My pancakes and eggs were good but for 15 bucks isn’t super worth it. My friends scrambled eggs were also pretty tasty but again not a large portion. Hash-browns were also bland as well. However the server was nice and accommodating!

Stopped for a quick lunch before driving around to see Lake Tahoe. My husband and I ordered a Combo pizza to share. The pizza came out after 15 minutes and it looked good. It’s very fresh and the crust was crunchy. We both loved it. Staffs were friendly and price reasonable. A nice place for lunch or quick bite.

Rosie’s Had the fastest half order of eggs Benedict ever! That size portion was just perfect without overeating or feeling wasteful, and I got a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread to take back to my vacation spot for future breakfasts. The 3 kids have now had it for two breakfasts and I still have bread left. I’m a baker by trade so my kids are bread snobs and they LOVED it!

Cannot understate how great of an experience I have every time I’ve gone. Menu is always fantastic with every change made. The meals have a wonderful combination of modern American as well as inspirations from Latino-American. Staff is fantastic and always makes me feel like I’m talking to friends that care. Never a bad meal or experience. Fantastic view. Salmon + trout roe is fantastic and the duck with mole is an incredibly unique and creative combination.

My wife and I made the correct decision to come here for our anniversary, the food was excellent and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. There is no such thing as a bad seat in the restaurant, with all tables able to see how the large windows overlooking the lake. I hope we can find ourselves back here in the future in warmer weather so we can sit on the terrace!

Wow both the fine dining restaurant and the casual eatery and bar are fantastic! Sandbar has a gorgeous view and great small Plates, a lovely not-buttery Chardonnay by the glass. Our server Hallie was so sweet and fun. We did dinner at Christy hill the following night and had the tasting menu and wine pairing which was outstanding! Filling portions, generous pours, and the wagyu steak was one to remember. A gorgeous evening on the patio.

Sand bar is like the outside limited menu of Christy Hill. Reserve to get seating inside, great views and larger menu. But we just out outside because the weather was great and can see the golden Mountain View during sunset. Food was pretty good, lobster roll could use more lobster, ceviche’s could be a bit more flavorful. Great live performance though and the ambiance is top notch

Christy Hill was an incredible experience! Every penny was worth it. The hostess was incredibly kind and welcoming, and our waiter was knowledgeable and great. The food was outstanding, including the roast beet salad, softshell lobster, sea bass, lamb, and their own delicious bread. The dessert with coffee was the perfect finish. The cozy views made it an unforgettable experience.

Food is decent but portions are very small for the price. Duck portion size was almost laughable. Basicly a single narrow strip for almost $50. Building is dated and needs some TLC. Service was great and very attentive. The location and views are what makes this place stand out unfortunately not the food.

Refined cuisine in a beautiful setting. The tasting menu looked great but we needed a smaller one after too many meals out. The Moroccan lamb was very nice, well seasoned. The scallops were good as well. Pancetta went very well with a Sauternes wine for dessert.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Tahoe City, the Tahoe City Marina stands as one of the lake's oldest marinas, boasting a rich history that spans over 80 years. Such friendly people and the instructions were so clear. We went out boating for 3 hours which basically got to Emerald Bay and back with 1 hour spent there. Keep in mind that you must also pay for fuel which came out to $125 for 3 hours for us on top of the hourly rate. This will always be a must-do activity anytime I come back to North Tahoe.

The locally owned 64-foot paddle-wheeler can host up to 120 guests and sets sail daily from Tahoe City, taking passengers along the lake's north and west shores, with potential stops at Emerald Bay. Guests have enjoyed various experiences on board, such as sunset cruises with live music, well-organized lunch tours with friendly staff, informative narration by the captain, and delicious food and drinks.

We had a wonderful time on this boat. Did a Thursday night sunset cruise and it was beautiful. Austin was spectacular with the tunes and facts, and J.J. with the drinks and service - very personable and friendly. It was our honeymoon and they made us feel special by playing our wedding song. All of the guests were feeling the crews contagiously happy energy as well and two lovely ladies bought us a drink. We made the amazing decision to host our wedding reception of around 50 guests on the Tahoe Gal and it was easily one of the best decisions we could’ve made. We had the privilege of working with Jamie as our coordinator for the boat who made the entire process seem effortless. We were initially concerned because we reside about 8 hours away from Tahoe City and planning a destination wedding did not seem convenient. However, Jamie’s open and continuous communication along with her kind and genuine personality took most of the stress out of our planning. Jamie would always answer my questions (no matter how silly or how many I had). She also gave great insight to help us create an event that would translate well on the boat. Jamie’s communication, professionalism, and incredible leadership made our experience on the Tahoe Gal unforgettable. We also recommend the Tahoe Gal because of their incredible crew members (Captain, servers, bartender, and other staff members). Everyone was so friendly and attentive to each of our guests and to ourselves. The captain even offered to steer us in a certain direction for our sunset photos so that we would have the moon in our photos! It’s that thoughtfulness and attentiveness that made our wedding reception so incredibly special. Food was also delicious! We went into our reception without having done a tasting prior to wedding day, which can be risky—but for the Tahoe Gal, was no problem at all. Our guests loved every single dish that was served (prime rib, chicken, and salmon). My husband and I had the prime rib and it was cooked to perfection, juicy and tender. Drinks and cocktails were a 10/10 as well! We absolutely recommend the Tahoe Gal for private charters and their scheduled cruises as well!!!

I'm a 65-year-old native Californian and have traveled to the Lake Tahoe area a LOT in my life...and never had the lovely experience I had today on the Tahoe Gal. My husband and I booked the lunch cruise...and it was a treat. Captain Austin and crewmember Cameron were both so attentive and made our excursion totally enjoyable. The anecdotes about the area's history and points of interest were spot on - and the food was good, too! 😊 I highly recommend this Tahoe City attractions. Thanks to the Tahoe Gal staff and crew! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

We hosted our rehearsal dinner / night-before-our-wedding celebration on The Tahoe Gal, and it could not have been a better experience. From the very beginning, the new owner was an absolute delight to work with—making everything smooth, easy, and reassuring during what is already a busy time. The dinner itself was fantastic. Our guests had multiple meal options, and the crew managed to take individual orders and serve over 70 people with great timing and efficiency. Everyone loved their meals, and we heard nothing but compliments. The entire staff—from the captains to the bartenders—was friendly, professional, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Hosting such a special occasion on Lake Tahoe aboard The Tahoe Gal created a memory we’ll never forget. We’re so grateful for the care and attention to detail and would highly recommend them for any special event.

Our staff social aboard the Tahoe Gal Dinner Cruise was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we stepped onto the boat, we were welcomed by a friendly crew who made everyone feel relaxed and well taken care of. The atmosphere was both elegant and casual, perfect for mingling, laughing, and enjoying the evening together. The scenery was breathtaking—Lake Tahoe’s shimmering waters at sunset, along with a dazzling full moon was the perfect backdrop. Dinner was great, with a variety of options that pleased everyone in our group. The live narration added fun local flavor. If you’re looking for a unique, memorable, and genuinely enjoyable group experience, I can’t recommend the Tahoe Gal Dinner Cruise enough. Skylandia is a great park and beach along the north shore of Lake Tahoe. There is a main area with a pier that allows for 2-3 groups deep in the sand, while the portion further west is narrower. There were folks swimming along the entire beach section, paddle boarding, and jumping from the pier. There is parking in the nearby neighborhood streets, and it is roughly ten minutes walking down to the beach. There are stairs, so it is not (easily) handicap accessible. There were several police offers nearby, but this was Saturday of a holiday weekend in July. Great spot!

Moe's Original BBQ is a delightful gem nestled in downtown Tahoe City, having opened its doors in 2014. This easygoing eatery specializes in Alabama-style barbecue, featuring an array of smoked meats like pulled pork and ribs, alongside seafood and chicken dishes. The restaurant boasts stunning views of the lake from its prime location on Grove Street Pier, making it a perfect spot for both locals and visitors alike. With outdoor seating available, guests can enjoy their meals while soaking up the beautiful scenery.
So blown away by our mid day meal! Went around 2pm on a week day, so they weren’t very busy, counter service which was actually great. Came from 5 hours of hiking so just wanted to chill! The bama style pork platter was to die for and the fried green tomatoes were perfectly crispy and juicy. Great bar and friendly staff. Enjoy an amazing view and some very filling food!

I ordered the smoked wings platter, which comes with 2 sides and a drink, online. I picked up my order and left before realizing that my order did not come with my sides or my drink. The platter was $25 which seemed fine for entree, 2 sides, and a drink considering the ski town location, but to not receive the sides and drink is terrible value and dishonest service from this restaurant. Pretty disappointing, I would HIGHLY recommend avoiding this place.

We stopped by around 5pm to grab a quick bite before our dinner plans later in the night (would be a late lunch for us). We waited at the bar for around 20 minutes before ordering, there was one group ordering before us, one group jumped the line to pay, and someone who had already ordered semi jumped the line to change something in her order. One person was taking orders, answering the phone and serving food. Maybe the place is more equipped to serve the crowd during lunch time. The drinks looked good, but we didn't have time to get drinks and wanted a small bite fast. Food came surprisingly quickly, we got the bama style pulled pork sandwich to share, meat was really good, bun was bland, and sides were ok. It served our purpose to get a quick bite, may come back if in the area to sit at the bar and get a drink.

A solid and dependable local favorite. I especially like the wide selection of yummy sides. Good local draft beers. Chill vibes. Portions are a bit small though for a bbq place. Vegetarian options often feel like an after thought, and you certainly don't expect much especially at a bbq place, but the grilled tofu here is actually good. I get it every time.

Food came out quickly and still warm. Service lady was nice and friendly and informative. Longest wait period is ordering. Other than that, Moe’s is a tasty bbq place with a beautiful lake view. (Ordered pulled pork with Mac n cheese and wife ordered Salad with Mac n Cheese)

Delicious BBQ food! I got the half rack of ribs with collard greens and skillet corn. My friend got the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese and the slaw. I definitely think the mac and cheese and collard greens were the best sides! The cornbread was also amazing. We got local beers and enjoyed sitting in the sun! The restaurant took all the necessary precautions for social distancing and servers all were masks. Highly recommend if you want authentic BBQ in Tahoe!

Best BBQ I've had! We had the ribs and the pulled pork, both of which were so smoky and juicy! The ribs were melt in your mouth good and fell right off the bone! Service was great, and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the menu as a whole. The BBQ sauce was so good that we bought a jar for us, and two more jars for friends! This place is right on the waterfront with amazing views of Lake Tahoe, and yet it was very fairly priced! Its prime lakefront location provides stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere on the open-air deck. The restaurant features an expansive bar serving a wide variety of drinks. Amazing location! Love the view! We arrived on a beautiful sunset. The food and service are top class. This is a must visit place in Lake Tahoe. The halibut is perfect. The chicken is juicy, and the clam chowder is just right. The service staff is as friendly as you would get.

When you’re searching for a nice place for a special occasion, look no farther than Jake’s On The Lake in Tahoe City. Plenty of parking, attentive servants, great scenery, excellent choice of libations, and plentiful selections for appetizers, main courses and dessert. Staff is nonintrusive so you can socialize without being rushed from course to course. The food preparation assures a fresh meal although the clam chowder was a little cold for my taste. Recommend that you make reservations well in advance, because they reward those who have planned well ahead, with seating affording the best views.

Fire. Great service. Came in on a Saturday fairly close to close and they were helpful (not saying you should come too close to close). The clam chowder was awesome, bit more thick and creamy than some would expect but I loved it, wished I got more. Also the Calamari was really really good. Possibly best I’ve had. Finally had the ribeye plate was great. Ribeye itself was an interesting cut but wasn’t bad. It was cooked like I wanted it to be. Mashed potatoes with the gravy were a star of the show on this plate.

Wanted to Love It… But It Missed the Mark First time here, and I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, it just didn’t deliver. We ordered three dishes, and all were underwhelming. One was a fish over rice—topped with a fruit salad (seriously?). The ceviche looked great but lacked flavor, was dry, and had an oddly sweet avocado cream… say what?! The salad? Just okay. The hostess was outstanding—warm and welcoming. But our server? Took forever and clearly didn’t want to be there. The view, though, is absolutely stunning. If I ever come back, it’ll be just for a beer and that scenery. 🍻🌄

We went with a group, actually a group large enough to reserve the entire place. I could not believe how we were all served at the same time, at least as fast as those waiters could bring those trays of plates up the stairs. Best Filet Mignon ever! It was cooked just as I requested, even though we were with a large group. Incredible views of the lake, as well. Our waitress was so patient and kind.

Unfortunately, our last night dinner at Jake’s was very disappointing. It’s a clear example of how beautiful views can’t make up for bad service and poor food. 1). We mentioned a special celebration, but it was ignored. The hostess sat us at a large 4-top, even though there were several 2-tops available. When I asked to move, she said they were “reserved,” but the restaurant was half empty on a Monday. Later, when I asked the waitress, she claimed it was because there were only two servers working the deck. Either way, it felt dishonest and dismissive. I even asked the hostess and the waiter if the heater could be turned on, but was ignored and a gentleman after we order our food came to turn it on. This was far from the romantic dinner I had planned. 2). The food was just as disappointing, sadly we only order 3 dishes.. Crab cakes-were drowned in mayonnaise which overpowered all flavor… The clam chowder came full of bacon oil. I don’t eat pork, and the waitress NEVER mentioned it. It’s unacceptable. I order a traditional clam chowder, and when I asked, she brushed me off with, “we’ve been doing it this way for 45 years.” That kind of response was rude and extremely unhelpful. The poke salad, seriously was oddly sweet and inedible. We count eat it al all. 3). Our drink order was forgotten, and no effort was made to fix anything despite how unhappy we clearly were. We paid nearly $70 for food we couldn’t enjoy and left hungry and frustrated. Jake’s completely ruined what should have been a special evening. 🌟If you want great food and the beautiful lake views but better, go next door to the restaurant “Christy Hill”. You won’t be disappointed. The food and service there were excellent. We ate dinner the night before and we will definitely come back.

The meal started off really well with a beautiful view of the harbor. However, that's where it ended. The Barada was served very weirdly without any bread and kind of like this weird chopped up different types of tomatoes, cut all sorts of different ways. The meal came out, and my medium steak was basically medium Well, no utensils were provided. We had to ask for them, and even after they returned the steak it was rare instead of medium rare.... They provided a butter knife to cut the steak with. We ordered a Coke and even after three request still did not receive it. I asked for the manager he came out and I was telling him about my experience. His response was "cool". He then went and made numerous excuses about everything that I told him that it happened instead of just saying I'm so sorry that happened to you will do better next time . They ended up comping the steak and providing us a very weird dessert. Overall, for these prices You would expect a lot more. Pictured is the Ramen noodle soup I had to make when I got home. It was delicious and served without excuses

My husband and I enjoyed a romantic dinner on the restaurant’s back deck overlooking Lake Tahoe & the majestic mountains. We each ordered the halibut…I ordered the Macadamia Halibut & my hubz ordered the Panko-Coco-Almond Dusted Halibut…both equally fresh and delicious! The wine list was impressive…we chose a yummy Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa. ~The manager was very personable (& humorous), and made sure we felt welcomed and well-taken care of. When in Tahoe…don’t miss out on this special gem of a restaurant. We can’t wait to go back! 😊

Fat Cat Bar & Grill is a lively tavern in Tahoe City that offers a relaxed atmosphere and delectable American cuisine. The restaurant is popular for its juicy burgers, hearty sandwiches, and classic appetizers. Using fresh ingredients and generous portions, the eatery ensures a memorable dining experience.
Randomly looking for a place to eat. Decided to stop in here. Excellent choice. The food was phenomenal. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. Our waitress/hostess Lindsey was the best. Super friendly and made our dining experience better. Will definitely be coming back

Creamy Mac n Cheese, crispy sesame-ginger wings, and that basket of sweet potato fries were all on point — comforting, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with a cold Tahoe Pilz. Morgan gave us excellent service, upbeat and genuine, which really elevated the whole experience. The kind of service that makes you want to come back — whether for a meal or just a drink. The sauce lineup was a show of its own — blue cheese, ranch, Dijon mustard, ketchup, and Sriracha ranch. Each one brought something different to the table. The Sriracha ranch added a spicy kick, Dijon gave that sharp tang, and the blue cheese and ranch balanced everything with creamy coolness. Even the ketchup hit just right with the sweet potato fries. Every dip had a purpose — making the wings and fries not just tasty, but downright addictive. #SauceGameStrong #WingsAndFries #FlavorLineup #FatCatsEats #LakeTahoeFood #GoodSauceDay

We visited after a day of river floating and this place totally hit the spot. It’s casual, with a filtered view of the lake. The food is awesome- bar type food but really well done, very high quality. Even the ketchup seems made in house and is incredible. The fries are also awesome- there’s some boring fries in the world but not here- they have special fries (Gorgonzola mushroom- yum!) and also a ton of house made sauces for dipping regular fries. So great burgers, great chicken sandwich. Highly recommend for a casual but delicious spot.

Ate dinner here tonight. Despite the place being very busy, the service was fast and friendly. Food (a burger and a salmon sandwich) were decent and reasonably priced for the area (also nice that they don’t charge separately for the burger and fries - rare these days).

Lindsey is The Best Waitress Ever. The food is just as amazing as she is. The Midtown Cheesesteak is the best I have had yet! This place hit the spot. I will definitely be back when in Tahoe City!

This place has many American options, including burgers and sandwiches. I had the chicken sandwich and Mac n cheese balls as an appetizer, and both tasted alright. They were well presented, but the chicken sandwich was a little on the dryer side. The food is good but nothing special. The servers are nice, and the restaurant is clean and has a nice atmosphere.

Big Portions for the meals and had patio seating that was dog friendly! We were seated within 5 minutes on a Saturday 2p so wasn't much of a wait at all for the circumstances. Plenty of choices for everyone and the appetizers were really good too! Will visit again when we are in town!

Za's Lakefront is a charming American-Italian restaurant located in Tahoe City, California. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with a lakefront deck, making it an excellent choice for outdoor dining. The restaurant boasts stunning views of the lake and features a new outdoor bar right over the water. Visitors can expect a mountain casual ambiance, a full bar, and an extensive menu offering delicious meals for both lunch and dinner.
Za’s Lakefront – A Mixed Experience with a View Za’s Lakefront offers a charming lakeside setting that’s hard to beat. The cozy, warm atmosphere paired with stunning views of the water makes it a pleasant spot to unwind, especially during sunset or on a nice day. There’s a relaxed vibe that’s inviting, and thankfully, the place wasn’t overcrowded when I visited. Parking was also easy to find, with plenty of available spaces nearby—always a plus. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed bag. I tried the wings, margarita pizza, and a basket of fries. The wings were decent—flavorful enough but nothing that stood out. The fries were crispy and satisfying, great as a simple snack. The margarita pizza, however, was a bit of a letdown. Given the setting and the restaurant’s vibe, I had higher expectations for it. It lacked the freshness and flavor that a good margarita pizza should have. Service is another area where Za’s could improve. While the staff wasn’t unfriendly, the attentiveness and overall service experience didn’t quite match the warmth of the setting. A little more attention to detail and engagement could elevate the dining experience significantly. Overall, Za’s is worth visiting for the views and atmosphere. With a bit of improvement in food quality and service, it has the potential to be a go-to lakefront destination.

Great atmosphere and our waitress was very attentive. Lots of folks here enjoying themselves. The pizza was great, and my burger was delicious. My wife had the smoked chicken pasta, but it was too smoky for her taste. They took back the plate and didn’t charge us for it.

Pure magic from start to finish. The food? Exquisite. The drinks? Divine. The service? Impeccable. Every detail, from ambiance to execution, felt choreographed by someone who truly cares. like a love letter to hospitality itself. We stumbled in after an adrenaline-fueled river rafting trip, and this place welcomed us like an oasis. Nestled along the water, it wasn’t just a meal—it was a moment. The staff radiated warmth, the flavors were bold and unforgettable, and the whole experience felt like the universe decided to spoil us. It’s rare to find a spot where everything sings in perfect harmony. But this? This was one of the greatest culinary performances I’ve ever witnessed. If you're anywhere near, treat yourself because this restaurant doesn’t just serve food, it serves memories.

One of the few waterfront restaurants in Tahoe. Great little bar outside. Inside is casual and slightly upscale. Prices are high as expected for Tahoe waterfront ($9 draft beer). The thin crust pizzas are the best deal and phenomenal. The large 16" at $29 is enough to feed 3 hungry adults, medium is enough for 2. A single entree is near the price of a large pizza. Place is extremely loud (wood floors and ceiling). You practically have to yell to be heard when it's busy so not a good romantic dining room.

Location Location Location! What a beautiful lakeside restaurant with delicious food and great service. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves. If you drive here from South Lake Tahoe like I did -- be sure to ⛽️ GAS up first as gasoline in this town is well over a dollar higher!

The view is the best selling point of the restaurant. The food is average. We had pepperoni & Yinzer pizza & meatballs spaghetti & calamari & Fries. Fries taste like fresh made and pepperoni is a safe play. A place for you to chill and enjoy the view but don't care much about the food.

First of want to say thank you, customer service was great. Thank you for serving 18 people and being so good to us. Pizza was amazing, we loved the view ♥️

The pizza's okay, nothing special. My kids like Little Caesars better. The whole experience is just alright. The waiters are always trying to take your plate the second you're done. They want you out so they can get the table ready for the next people. It's not a great place to chill and chat with your family or friends.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Alpine Base Area at Palisades Tahoe. Ski & Snowboard Areas
Palisades Tahoe at Alpine Meadows is a well-known ski destination with many lifts and diverse terrain suitable for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. The resort boasts multiple lodges and a terrain park, making it an ideal spot for beginners and intermediates. Although the snow conditions can be unpredictable, the resort ensures adequate coverage by producing artificial snow nightly to prevent icy slopes. On weekends, visitors should anticipate heavy crowds, which could result in accidents requiring toboggan rescues.
Great place to start your ski or snowboard journey ! They have PPP class for 1st time beginners, great value and teachers onsite, includes 3 day classes, $21 lunch voucher/day, free rentals, daily lift ticket. After completion of the class, season pass, 30% on rental and purchase. And a lift to the other side with more paths available

Skid this side of palisades a few times and can say this is my favorite for beginners looking to practice blues. The blues can be challenging if they are your first blues but definitely good if you have been on a couple blues to practice. Weasel is the easiest and where I practice the most off of. Roundhouse and Sherley Woods are now where I find my challenging runs.

We've skied and hiked the Olympic Valley side of Palisades Tahoe more then a handful of times but have never visited Alpine Meadows until today's hike. The resort area is not as built out as the Olympic Valley side but the terrain here looks just as amazing. Hiked up to the top of Chip's Challenge to take in the views. It took about an hour out and back from the base of the resort.

Alpine and palisades have been amazing for skiing! This was my sixth year here and it was great! The reason I only gave it four stars is because the parking program is dumb. You have to either pay or reserve a spot early! Other than that its a great mountain with awesome terrain!
Oliver — Google review
Used to make an annual pilgrimage to Alpine from Colorado every March to ski the spring corn on the High Traverse. A good vertical drop and consistent pitch guaranteed fantastic skiing on snow as smooth as a dance floor. Carving huge pendulum turns all the way down. What a ride!

I didn't ski at Squaw Valley, so I don't have any experience. But Alpine Meadows is definitely a very good place for skiing. Administrative staffs are cooperative and friendly. Emma, my ski instructor, was an enthusiastic lady and very kind to me. Her enormous patience and constant inspiration were the reason behind my awesome skiing experience from no prior knowledge to end up with a sense of achievement. It was a really nice time I spent over there. The natural beauty and wonderful terrains made this place very special to me. This great experience I want to remember for a lifetime.
Pritam N — Google review
Great options for beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Obviously snow levels are unpredictable, but they make snow just about nightly so it’s typically not icy. If you go on a Saturday, be prepared for insane crowds. The day I went I counted 9 toboggan rescues bc patrons kept running into each other on the slopes. The resorts got some killer views of the lake though!
Jake R — Google review
It's a good place for skiing and boarding. Not the largest resort but there is a good amount of runs that will fill a day. Lifts are generally kept nice and the staff was helpful except the ticket lady who didn't say more than 2 words to me... Whatever. They have Coke as well. It's 4 dollars, but at least it's there.

Me and my family have had an amazing experience. We reserved spots on Sunday, June 1 and my two kids normally we’ve done this a few times once back in 2020 at the Tahoe Vista location and 2021 at Tahoe Vista and this was the first time that we use Tahoe city it was such a great experience. The weather was perfect. All of the staff were amazing. One of my children has had the hardest time with heights, and he overcame his fear this weekend with the help of the staff. Logan was amazing and the biggest help!. Nora was good with my son!. They really helped my child get through and accomplish his goal of going on some of these obstacles. We will continue to keep coming back to tree top adventures and I hope you and your family decide to do this excursion. It’s well worth it! Thanks everyone at treetop adventures!

Such a fun time was had with my kids, niece and nephew at the Tahoe City location! A few years ago we went to the Olympic Village location but this one was way more challenging and fun for the ages we had (11-13). Really great customer service and explanation of safety guidelines.

Really fun family experience. You get your money's worth with a full 2.5 hours on the course. There are lots of different skill and enjoyment levels. Plus they switch things up and improve the courses. This is our 6th time on course over the last 10 years and it's always a lot of fun. Staff is very friendly and helpful but maintain course safety.

Went on a team-building trip to the Tahoe City Treetop Adventure Park and had an absolute blast! The staff was super efficient getting us started early, made safety easy to understand, and kept the vibe fun and relaxed—great for calming nerves. One of our teammates got stuck mid-zipline, and the staff responded quickly and kindly, making sure everyone stayed calm and felt safe. Highly recommend this place for families, friends, or work teams. Such a fun and memorable experience!

Had a great experience climbing with my 16 and 10 year olds of varying levels of fitness on Sunday. Reservations allowed for a relaxed vibe and we still completed all of the courses in the allotted time. The only thing is that they forgot to give us the gloves and hat we ordered but promptly refunded us when we realized it after climbing. Highly recommend!

BEST TIME EVER! This is a really great place if you love being outdoors and want to feel like you are apart of Ninja warriors because that’s honestly what it felt like, the course had a bunch of different obstacles some harder than others but the ZIPLINES ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. I would recommend bringing friends with you for even more fun! There are people at the floor to help if you need to and the safety course they have is incredible. I felt safe and had lots of fun. Would definitely go again! Thank you!

Tahoe House Bakery & Gourmet, a family-owned gem established in the late 1970s, offers an enticing array of baked goods such as breads, cakes, cookies, and pastries. They also serve made-to-order sandwiches, deli salads, and a daily soup. In the morning, they specialize in pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and robust coffees while expanding their menu at lunch to include salads and dense sandwiches on freshly baked bread.
This place is simple fantastic! We come here each time we visit Lake Tahoe. And are never disappointed…unless they’re closed. Good food that’s always fresh, baked daily, and the people are always so kind. Eat here; you’ll love it.

This place is awesome. I had the Sausage, egg, cheese, and spinach burrito, it had big pieces of sausage & eggs. A blueberry and cranberry muffin that was perfectly balanced, with the sweetness of the blueberries and the tartness of the cranberries, it was soooo soft and delicious. A pastry that was tender and baked perfectly. A Mocha iced coffee, great flavor. The line was long, but it moved quickly. It was worth the time. I recommend that you make the time too, you will not be disappointed. I can't wait for my next visit.

While biking in Tahoe City, we found this place on our map, and what piqued our interest were the pastries. We did arrive well past breakfast time, so we ended up getting sandwiches for lunch. The team member handling my order was very helpful, as I don't normally go out for sandwiches. I asked for her personal recommendation, which she suggested her go-to sandwich combination: black forest ham, but I can't recall the bread of choice, but it was delicious! A quick and quaint spot to drop by if ever in the area.

Earliest coffee you can get closest to the Palisades, which is why I had to go there. What a treat it was, the lady who worked there I believe is probably the owner was so sweet tucked to my boyfriend, and I by the fireplace and gave us a freshly brewed cup of coffee. Just for the fireplace and the cute cabin alone I would go back. Also the lady or whoever owns it makes all their own products and they’re delicious.

Located along the picturesque Truckee River, River Grill offers an elegant yet relaxed dining experience with a bi-level patio and live music. Specializing in California cuisine, the restaurant prides itself on using only the freshest seasonal ingredients to create delectable dishes. Guests can indulge in a variety of options such as surf 'n' turf while enjoying stunning riverfront views.
One of the best restaurants in Lake Tahoe! We’ve been coming up to the lake for over 30 years. Many of the restaurants are overcrowded, overpriced and underwhelming. This place is outstanding. The service was impeccable, the heirloom tomatoes & fresh mozzarella salad was well presented and delicious- a new take on caprese. The halibut and the rack of lamb were top notch. And it was a lovely setting along the river. Can’t wait to go back for another truly memorable dining experience.

First time here and I love it!!! The outdoor patio is facing the truckee river, they have live music 🎶 and it’s super cute! we had quite a bit of food. The tempura shrimp was delicious lite battered and well dressed. The seared tuna portion was great but flavor was okay they could use a little more torch or a hard sear for flavor. The lamb was delicious just not enough 5 pieces. Now the corn chowder I wanted to cry when I saw milk and corn this was far from being a chowder.. maybe they ran out of it and made this thing on a fly and they served it to us….I couldn’t believe the chef and server let this go out of the kitchen. Maybe 86 next time instead of serving milk and corn with dry muffin. Besides that it was an amazing evening ❤️❤️

We came here on a Monday night and sat at the bar. Bartender recommended the lamb chops and they were 5/5. May be the best lamb chops I’ve ever had. Not that I have lamb a lot but there was really nothing left to be desired. Maybe the potatoes were a tad salty, but not too salty to where it was bothering me. Cook was done well - my wife got medium + and I asked for medium rare. This is the best food we’ve had in Lake Tahoe so far. Would definitely come back and get the lamb again.

Really great service. Super knowledgeable server with great recommendations. We had the poke appetizer which was everyone’s favorite and could make a light meal. The ravioli and sea scallops were amazing. The halibut was good but like the other dishes better. Two of us ordered the bourbon berry and did not love it. Would suggest another drink. Overall amazing location, service and meal.

The best meal we’ve had in the Tahoe area all week long. Just perfectly done — my halibut with tomato shallot sauce was out of this world. Going to try and make it at home, it was very impressive! The potatoes gratin were perfect, and the rosemary bread and butter was also divine. Thanks for feeding us so well on our honeymoon. 🥰

This is the best spot in Tahoe City area. The burger is insane and good bang for your buck. I had to force myself to not go there for a 3rd night in a row. The staff is very welcoming and fun to spark conversation with. Always meet nice people at this spot and the atmosphere is great too. Highly recommend when you’re in the area.

I appreciated having plant based options on the menu (there were 2 options). We had the portobello and quinoa and the halibut entrees and the pear salad and fried green beans. Everything was delicious. We ordered an Italian red wine ( the only old world wine on the menu), it was very nice. I would like to see more reasonably priced foreign wines on the menu, but that’s just my preference. The waiter was good but the bus service wasn’t very good; water glasses sat empty, had to ask for silverware after it was removed. Pretty location on the Truckee River, but it was kinda loud. The live music wasn’t the reason; people were just talking full volume, I guess you can’t do much about that!

Californian restaurant
River Ranch Lodge & Restaurant is a rustic-chic lodge with polished rooms, many of which offer scenic river views. The upscale restaurant on-site offers hearty gourmet dining and bar specials in a nostalgic atmosphere, making it a popular destination for both visitors and locals throughout the year. Situated along the Truckee River, it provides a picturesque setting for guests to enjoy outdoor activities such as tubing in the summer and apres-ski gatherings in the winter.
Delightful classic motel, updated some and well kept up. Great location next to Truckee River. Restaurant in lodge or 10 minutes from Tahoe City and Truckee. River rafting ends at lodge so lively summer outdoor patio/bar, live music. Quiet after 9:30pm. Very reasonable price for Tahoe. Have been coming here for decades.

This review is for patio dining, we’ve never stayed at the motel. We enjoyed our lunch on the patio overlooking the river and appreciated the dog friendly atmosphere. Being right on the Truckee River trail it’s a handy stopping point for a meal or drink. They only had a single restroom open when we were there so a bit of a line up.

Great right next to the river which makes it look absolutely beautiful! If you want to river boat, everything is right here. I totally recommend this place. The room was cleaned every day. I haven’t tried anything in their restaurant; so, I cannot really comment anything on it. The front desk manager Danial was awesome, welcoming and very accommodating. I really enjoyed staying at this place. My family will be back here. Thank you guys.

Absolutely Amazing! Heaven on Earth! Awesome location, great patio area with live music and overlooking the Truckee river with rafts, swimming, and tubing. While I didn't stay at the lodge, the location of units have great views of the mountains and river. The 1/4 pounder Angus Beef burger was excellent. I highly recommend it. Again, a spectacular location!

Amazing place for food or drinks. It overlooks the river exit for most of the tubers and rafters so it's always got something going on. The drinks are good, and the bartender was awesome. The only complaint is the price is steep even for Tahoe! $20 for some cocktails, $8+ for beers. Definitely a fun place though. Very chill.
Rhett J — Google review
The food is definitely overpriced at least on the patio. They have a different menu for inside dining. Obviously they have a captive audience and they get a lot of rafting clients coming off the river in the summer. But the truth is that their service is also miserable and not friendly and not helpful. Also they seem to run out of a lot of things by the end of the weekend which is frustrating because after the whole summer to get it right there still getting it wrong. Some people would definitely argue that the location mitigates the other frustrations and I am probably even in that camp myself. Beautiful to be able to sit right next to the river as it goes by, in the sun in the fresh air.
Res R — Google review
Review only for lunch on the deck Absolutely awful. Think high school cafeteria food but worse. The shrimp ceviche tasted like nothing. It shouldn’t be difficult to fry up chicken tenders and fries but it’s obvious they chose the cheapest frozen food they could get. The patio area is falling apart and is dirty. Old junk such as empty display cases just sitting out on the open are a nice touch. I think the dinner service is better but I’m not going to risk it. I guess they are lucky they have customers from the rafts who don’t know any better so they don’t have to try!
Emily M — Google review
DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! The food is awful, overpriced, and came out within seconds of ordering. Not to mention the food was old, cold and doesn't look like the google picture. They definitely pre cooked everything and then had it sit under some heat all day. Now me and my boyfriend are suffering from a stomach ache. Honestly you’re better off going to McDonald’s.

Day 4

Proximity is everything
For day 4, we bundled attractions like Lake Tahoe Dam and North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center in Tahoe City and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Lake Tahoe Dam

Scenic spot
Lake Tahoe Dam, located in Tahoe City, is a historic structure built in 1909 to regulate the water flow from Lake Tahoe into the Truckee River. The dam offers great information about its construction and current data on water clarity, precipitation, and outflow. Visitors can also enjoy views of trout and relax at the neighboring park. Additionally, there's a Visitor's Center nearby for further exploration. The age and history of the dam make it a unique attraction worth visiting while in North Lake Tahoe.
Great place to stop if you’re on the north side of Tahoe I always bring people who have never been to the area to check out the giant trout that live in the River below the bridge. Good walking/swimming area on the lake side too.
Nick N — Google review
Beautiful dam and gate. Well preserved there some signage and pictures of its construction. There seems to be more information inside the building but you can only see it from the windows.
Town T — Google review
If you’re looking for a piece of infrastructure that quietly yet unmistakably rules the alpine water world, then the Lake Tahoe Dam is a hard‑to‑beat contender. It’s an outstanding piece of engineering, historically significant, functionally vital, and beautifully sited. It loses half a star only because the age shows and some modern uses may push it beyond its original design envelope. Here is why I think it stands out: • It’s visibly impactful, at the outlet of one of America’s most iconic lakes. • Combines natural beauty with practical water management seamlessly. • Offers historical intrigue for anyone fascinated by early Western U.S. engineering. • On the day of your visit, the dam became a spectacle of contrasts: the serene precision of controlled water met the raw energy of hundreds of bikers in a 100k rally, creating an atmosphere both exhilarating and unforgettable. If you happen to be at Tahoe City, I’d strongly recommend taking a walk to view the dam, imagine the water flowing out of the lake, and reflect on how this relatively modest structure holds back and manages one of the greatest alpine lakes in the US.

I grew up in Northern California, and Lake Tahoe has been a part of my entire life. When I was younger, a family cabin was close to the lake. Every summer, I got to enjoy, riding my bike around the roads and neighborhoods of South Shore, when it was safe for kids to do this... kayaking, boating, fireworks, and laying on the beach. I never get tired of looking at the sparkling deep blue and emerald waters. This was another incredible day of meandering around the breathtaking area of Lake Tahoe.

Tourist information center
The North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center is a reconstructed cabin that was originally used by the dam gatekeeper to control water flow out of Lake Tahoe. Now operated by the North Tahoe Historical Society, it offers souvenirs and information about the area. Visitors can also get fresh drinking water here. The center's staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, providing maps and directions for exploring North Lake Tahoe and its hiking spots.
Nice and clean place. The ladies in there are very kind and knowledgeable. If you want to explore north Lake Tahoe and find some rare hiking spots, then definitely grab a map from them with some directions and suggestions. Make sure to stop by.
H V — Google review
DO NOT GO TO THIS VISITORS CENTER AND EXPECT TO FEEL WELCOME!!  We travel a lot and always seek out the visitors center for the area we are visiting. This center checks every box for being THE WORST center ever! On a Thursday afternoon we were the ONLY people in this visitors center (probably because everyone else knew not to stop here) and neither of the 2 female  employee even bothered to lift their head to acknowledge we entered their doors or to ask if they could help us. How rude and how California! We browsed a bit and picked up a map so we could find the quickest way out of this pathetic town. Consider yourself forewarned now and stop at ANY other welcome center around Lake Tahoe other than North Lake Tahoe visitors center.
Kathy H — Google review
I've been to the TC Visitor Center before and loved it. It is a nice place and great place to get a t-shirt/hat/coffee mug, etc. However, I went in there last Thursday after going to the Farmer's Market, and the two ladies working there were very rude. I asked a couple simple questions and got my head ripped off. I was with family and we all agreed they were rude. Call me crazy but shouldn't staff that work in a "VISITOR CENTER" be friendly? i don't think I'll be going in there again - I doubt they care.

Drop by to learn some info. A good walk around the area, nice view of the lake.
Chap — Google review
Lots of fun souvenirs and quality craftsman items. The 4 star review instead of 5 is due to the lack of size variety in the "Lake Tahoe" t-shirts and sweatshirts. The woman working that day was friendly and sweet. We had a good conversation about travel and Pennsylvania.
Georganna P — Google review
Nice place with clean bathroom. The credit card machine does not work, which is fine- but the lady that works informed me 3 times that it was cash only. The first time, I replied, “thanks, we saw it on the outside that it’s cash only.” Every fee items I placed on the counter, she bring up the money. She said it to my dad as well- very bothersome… we also didn’t get a receipt for our purchase. They had a mini bonanza exhibit and of the native tribal people that was nice to see.

Beautiful, clear Lake Tahoe! Worth a full vacation, but refreshing also for only stopping for a short walk barefoot in the lake and grabing lunch. Very good info services.

Nestled in the heart of Tahoe City, Alpenglow Sports stands out as a beloved hub for outdoor enthusiasts year-round. This original California Mountain Shop is not just a retail space; it’s a community cornerstone where passionate staff share their extensive knowledge about summer and winter gear. Whether you're gearing up for an epic backpacking adventure or simply looking for the perfect gift, Alpenglow Sports has you covered with an impressive selection of products.
Great shop, local experts full of beta. My buddy and I intended to get in some last minute spring corn skiing, owner redirected us to Tioga pass which led to an epic day. Great folks, highly recommend
Ted B — Google review
TL;DR Pros: The bootfitter spent hours with me and is a nice guy Big con: I'm out over $1000 because Alpenglow told me to try the boots by skiing in them, only to find out after it was clear that they didn't fit that Alpenglow would not take them back because I skied in them. !!! Long version I worked with Luke to purchase and fit a new pair of touring boots. I was a tough customer. I have a difficult foot to fit, with high arches and insteps and knobby ankles. Making the situation more challenging, I have never worn touring boots before and didn't know what a good fit should feel like. So some of this is on me. Luke spent several hours with me the first day I was there, trying multiple boots and finally settling on a pair of Dynafits. Luke made custom inserts and heatmolded the liner to my foot, attempting to make space for my ankles by taping blocks to my ankles during the heat molding. Even after that, the boots didn't feel great. But as I said, I didn't know what to look out for. Luke suggested that I take them home, walk around and let the liners break in more to see if they became more comfortable. Unfortunately after wearing the boots a couple hours around home, they were clearly much too painful. I went back to the shop where Luke spent another 2 hours with me trying several adjustments to the liners and taping material inside the shell to protect my ankles. After that, the boots still didn't feel great. Luke suggested that the only way to really break them in was to ski in them. So I went on about a 4 mile flat out and back. By the time I got back to my truck I was ready to crawl through the snow barefoot. One of the most painful experiences of my life.. no joke! It felt like someone was drilling into my ankle bones with a 3/8 wood bit. This is where I got pretty unhappy. I called Alpenglow and told them the boots were never going to work for me and asked them about their return policy. They said that since I had skied in them, they would not take the return. But... they were the ones to suggest that I ski in them! So now I'm out over $1000. Very unhappy.

Zero stars for this place. The guys there were very rude and refused to honor their online sale price. I love supporting small local businesses when I’m traveling, however this place will not be getting my business. I ordered from Amazon for 10 bucks cheaper.

Alpenglow is our favorite place for athletic clothing, shoes, and more. Brendan is not only a community maven, but a gracious host and all around nice guy. If you're in Tahoe City, it's a must stop. We've been shopping there for at least a decade, and it is always a pleasure. We made out like bandits today, as most everything is on sale. Get it while you can.

Very helpful staff and a great selection of trail running shoes. One of the best outdoor stores I've been to.

This is far and above the best place to find the right gear from a back country ski trip, to a day climbing, orj ust for a great pair of running shoes. Extremely knowledgeable staff mixed with superb gear selections in a great location make this the only place in Greater Lake Tahoe I recommend to friends, family, or anyone I meet looking to go big in the great outdoors.

Alpenglow has been a family favorite of ours for as long as I can remember. Their selection is awesome, and their staff know everything about the products. Just as easy to pick up a Christmas present as to get fully kitted for a winder backpacking trip. Easily the best store in Tahoe.

Hey there! On your way to South Lake Tahoe, you'll come across some adorable little shops. Just a heads up, there might be some extra traffic due to road construction. I always end up here for one thing or another. It's so beautiful and the shops are eclectic. Great yoga studio upstairs, cute salon and a couple options for the winer's. Only Tahoe would have a shopping center like with a little bit of charm in every corner.

This is one of the best little town centers around. They have some unbelievable shops like the trunk show which has tons of local artist stuff. New and used Tahoe Sports is a great spot to get inexpensive used ski gear in the winter not too sure if they're open in the summer. Tahoe Mountain Brewing for really good beer and a great meal and don't forget the Tahoe Art Haus that place is really awesome they have just totally nailed it. The show good movies that was community events they serve beer and raisinets and other stuff too the parking is pretty tight but if you drive around the back there's a whole bunch of parking I believe there's a really nice wine shop and there's a really cool hip hop clothing shop for guys also there's that mountain bike shop the gravity shop I think it's called they sell super nice bicycles.

Tahoe City Golf Course

4.4
(327)
Golf course
Tahoe City Golf Course offers a serene twilight round of golf starting at 4 pm, providing stunning views of the surrounding scenery. Whether you opt for a quick 9-hole game or a leisurely 18-hole experience, the course promises relaxation and enjoyment. In addition to golfing, visitors can enjoy activities like fly fishing and take in beautiful water views from the Lake Tahoe Dam.
Well let me tell you something — places like this are hard to come by these days. I’ve been playing golf longer than most folks have been alive, and walking onto the Tahoe City Golf Course felt like stepping back in time. Back when the game was about fresh air, a decent swing, and a good buddy to share the round with — not all this fancy GPS cart nonsense and $200 green fees. The course? She’s got character. Quirky? Sure. A little rough around the edges? Maybe. But you know what? So am I. And just like me, this course has seen some things — and it still delivers. The staff? Real salt-of-the-earth types. Friendly, helpful, not trying to upsell you on gloves or some overpriced logo ball you’re just gonna lose on the third hole. The vibe here is relaxed, like back when we'd sneak a flask into our Sunday foursome and call it "hydration." Greens might not roll like Augusta, but who needs Augusta when you've got views like this and air so clean it makes your joints feel 20 years younger? If you're looking for perfect conditions, go somewhere else. If you're looking for heart, history, and a damn good time — this is it.
Mark S — Google review
Course is nice but very under construction. I only gave 2 stars because the grounds keepers were extremely kind people and helped me find a missing club. Can’t say the same about the front desk worker, he was extremely rude and tried scamming us over a golf cart. The sprinklers were on at our next hole and he told us to “go through it” he was very unfriendly and gave me a bad energy. Will not be coming back.
Leena B — Google review
I rarely play golf but we’re in Tahoe and I’m playing golf with some friends today and this course is super pretty. It’s mid October and there’s barely anyone here on a Wednesday. My one complaint here is going to be that there’s Canadian geese everywhere. Now that’s a little hyperbole, but there are a lot of Canadian geese and there’s a lot of turds on the fairway. The course is super beautiful and it’s really a beautiful location to play if you’d like to golf I would suggest coming here
Neal B — Google review
If you want to get a quick 9 for the day this place is really good for it. Course is kept in good condition and pace of play is fairly quick. Watch out for mosquitos though
Emerson A — Google review
Open fairways with minimal chance of collateral damage..great place for scratch golfing! Nice folks and well maintained, nice greens! One star off due to golf cart paths needing improvement.
Brian C — Google review
I booked a tee time over the phone only to arrive to a hellscape of a golf course. They had failed to mention that the entire golf course was under construction and multiple holes were closed entirely. Rented a set of clubs only to find that the putter was missing and the driver was broke. Avoid at all costs as they should be charging something close to nothing for this debacle of a course.
Brian B — Google review
We showed up and found out that 2 of the 9 holes were closed and we were still charged full price even after negotiating. Unacceptable management

Visiting from San Antonio, TX, and this is hands down, the best place we've eaten at while vacationing, here in Tahoe! GREAT service, impeccable dishes with bursting flavor!!! An array of food selections made it difficult to chose 😄simply because everything sounded delicious, based on the description on the menu. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, with great views of the lake. We had perfect weather for dining outside. Definitely a MUST, if you're visiting the area.
Jeannette M — Google review
Enjoyed a leisurely lunch here during the recent snowstorm - we'd had plans to hit the mountains but with everything closed due to the high winds and absolutely dumping snow we opted for a day in town. Ended up here for a nice lunch with tasty food and some good cocktails. The special was a pastrami chili that my partner enjoyed but said the cotija cheese was a bit salty for their taste- but it didn't stop them from devouring the whole bowl! The Naan flying bird was fantastic - very flavorful with juicy chicken, bright tang of the pickled red onions and the salty flavor of the feta - i opted for no aioli on mine and it was still delectable. The service was a bit slow so if you're in a hurry I wouldn't recommend but if you're alright with Tahoe Time you should be just fine enjoying a meal and drink here. They also have some board games to play - a couple nearby had a spirited game of battleship going and it seems they encourage a good hang here.

The food was really good we order fish N’fritte, a New York steak N fritte, a burger 🍔 chicken wings that seem triple the size of regular chicken wings 😂 and finally a calamari po boy .., Staff was really nice and prompt to serve we did not have to wait much for our food or to place our order at the bar we would totally comeback !!!

Food tasted good, service was nice, price was pretty high, as you'd expect being right off the coast of Tahoe, with one of the major highways leading to Tahoe nearby. Decent place to chill and relax if you're hanging around the nearby beaches, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. There were bathrooms for customers. There's parking not too far from here. Didn't notice a dedicated lot.
Niaz N — Google review
The bartender/ server was a jerk. He definitely needs a lesson in hospitality. He was rude to my wife when she was trying to order + After a keg blew beer on me. I told him and he responded. That's what you get for sitting at the bar. No beer menu except for signs, they have hanging in a ridiculous location. The food got a three-star rating only because my wife enjoyed her cheeseburger. The pastrami however was sodium city.
Greg C — Google review
Perfect spot for a delicious lunch. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. We were slightly worried while reading the reviews but pleasantly surprised. The ordering process is different(and could be frustrating during a busy dinner or lunch rush) but we luckily showed up before the main wave of patrons showed up. The cheese curds are ridiculously good(seriously ridiculous) and the pretzel bites w/ homemade mustard and beer cheese were also fantastic. I can't speak to how smooth dinner service would go given the unusual ordering style but this will be a mainstay in our itinerary for future trips!

Bridgetender Tavern and Grill, affectionately known as The BT, has been a beloved dining spot in Tahoe City since 1977. This rustic tavern offers a relaxed atmosphere and serves up classic American cuisine such as burgers, tacos, and waffle fries. Whether you're enjoying the patio by the river in the summer or cozying up inside during winter, Bridgetender provides a charming setting to savor their hearty and flavorful dishes.
Great place! Such a beautiful outside patio right next the river! We really liked Elk burger, chicken maks burger, fries, and hot chicken wings. I would recommend this place to my friends. Great service! We will be back.

My Aunt and I were sightseeing around Lake Tahoe and decided to drop in for a bite to eat. Burgers were good and juicy. Salads were large too. Would come again and would recommend. Very rustic inside and quaint. The bathrooms were clean so that was a plus.
Adrienne P — Google review
The Bridgetender Tavern and Grill location is fantastic, and the place itself has great potential to be one of the best locations in Tahoe city area. However, the food consistently feels underwhelming—it’s quite average, lacking in flavor and something more unique to equal the high prices. The location is a 5-star review, but the culinary experience just doesn’t stand out at this point. That said, I truly believe there’s room to elevate the quality of the Food, and I hope to see improvements in the future. Customer service can be attentive specially when asking for a high gratuity tip.

Cross-posting a review I shared on Yelp on 10/13/2024: I drove up from Sacramento today to go to an event about 15 minutes inland from Tahoe City. I figured after I was done at the event, I'd run and grab dinner in Tahoe City, both so I could see the lake a little bit, and so I wouldn't be hungry on my drive home afterward. I chose Bridgetender on a whim because it was near the water, open, and had decent reviews and didn't look too pricey. The parking lot looked full enough that I expected to maybe have to wait a little while to be seated, but when I went in, the hostess was able to seat me right away. My server (I'm bad with names but my receipt says Bailey S., so I hope that's right) was attentive, patient, and friendly. Their elk burger, which states it comes medium rare with a blueberry BBQ sauce, caught my eye, both because I rarely get a chance to have elk and because the blueberry BBQ sauce sounded so unique. When I ordered, I asked if the burger could be done medium instead of medium rare. My server said of course it could, but did politely suggest that because elk is very lean compared to beef, medium rare would have a better texture. I agreed and ordered it that way, and I'm glad I did, it was just right and if I had gone with medium it wouldn't have been as good. The blueberry BBQ sauce was quite good, although I do wish it had been a little less tangy, a little more sweet. But that's personal preference, nothing was wrong with it at all. I also ordered a side of seasoned waffle fries and one of their summer cocktails... the BT Rum Punch. Those were good as well. Also, it did not take very long for my order to come out, and everything tasted fresh. The fries also came with a little cup of ranch which was nice. The tables already were stocked with basics like ketchup, mustard, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. When I asked for a box and the check, I also asked for a quick refill of water. The server brought those over, and as an afterthought I asked if I could have a bag to put the box in. I explained I'd be driving back to Sacramento and didn't want to risk any leaks in the car. The server brought me a bag and also kindly offered to get me a water in a to-go cup for the road. I told her I had a bottle of water in my car but just wanted a little more icewater before leaving the restaurant, but it was a really considerate thing to offer and I appreciated it! The atmosphere is nice and cozy. Dim interior lighting but with plenty of windows for natural light in the daytime, kind of your typical pub-type place. It seemed like a lot of locals were there because several customers seemed to know each other and the staff, and that kind of gave it a cheerful atmosphere while I was quietly sitting by myself and enjoying my surroundings. Nice location, right by where the Truckee River meets the lake/the dam, lots of trees, I actually ran across the street before going in to get some pictures of the lake and scenery. Decent size parking lot. Would go again if ever in that part of the Tahoe area again!

We ordered Fish chips and Fries and they were soaking in oil. The oil used was extremely bad to my throat and I coughed the entire night. The burger are cheap quality and even Chick Fila or McD serves better food. I wish I could give it a negative star

I came for the river vibe and ended up staying way longer than planned. Picture this: six of us at a picnic table under the trees, the Truckee River sliding by on one side and a lively patio on the other. It’s the kind of place where Tahoe afternoons stretch into golden hour without anyone noticing. (Yes, that riverside patio is the move here.) Service? Helpful and unfussy—the team explained the patio vs. indoor ordering quirk in two sentences and waved me inside to grab ribs while the rest of our crew ordered outside. No attitude, no drama, just “we’ll get you fed.” That flexibility matters when you’re wrangling six appetites. Food rundown from our table: • Wings: crisp skin, sticky-sweet heat; disappeared first. • Fish & chips: classic pub batter, lots of lemon, clean fry. • Burgers: big, juicy, and onto toasted brioche—exactly why locals love BT. (If you’re a first-timer, add the famous waffle fries; they’re a house staple.) Checks + value: our food total was $210 for six, plus $30 in tips—call it ~$40 per person with a beer. Price-wise it’s Tahoe-resort normal, and the patio setting carries a premium I’m willing to pay when the river’s doing its thing. For context, crowd favorites here include the turkey and elk burgers and those waffle fries; it’s not a secret. Honest notes: not every plate was a home run—our group’s scores ran the gamut (3, 4, 4, 4.5, 5, 5). That’s real life with a big order. My take lands at a confident 4/5 overall: outdoor atmosphere and easy service carry the day, wings and fries lead the menu, and the patio is exactly what you want in Tahoe City. (Pro tip: if the patio menu doesn’t list what you want—like ribs—order at the bar inside and bring it out. Smooth.) Would I come back? 100%. Next round, I’m hunting down the elk burger with blueberry BBQ and a river-view table again. Final: Solid 4/5. If Tahoe had a “greatest hits” food court, this patio is track one.

The place was so small and it was packed to the brim. The food took 42 minutes to come out and my god it was not worth the wait. We did enjoy the food and it was well-seasoned. The salsa and chips were severely missing salt and felt like we were rushed a little. The parking is also small so good luck parking on the weekends!

Great restaurant with a view of the Truckee River in Tahoe City. The outdoor seating was perfect on a cool July evening. The food was excellent. We had the BT Sandwich and Elk Burger.

Bar
Mexican restaurant
Pete 'n Peters is a classic dive bar in Tahoe City that has been a fixture for over 25 years. The wood-paneled pub exudes an old-timey vibe and offers a big American menu, including Mexican cuisine from its sister restaurant, Pepper's Taqueria. The lively atmosphere is complemented by pool tables, darts, shuffleboard, and five big-screen TVs for sports enthusiasts.
The tacos are about $3 each, next to the pub , and you can sit anywhere within the building, pool only $1 per game ! Great place to hangout with drinks and food!

Best dive bar in Tahoe! Came here for a bachelorette and the bride was very happy here. We watched corgi racing and then people climbing up slippery steps on ESPN 8 which was fun. Gets crowded here but bartenders are great at getting to everyone. They also serve a wicked green tea shot.

A chill spot in a chill town where everything seems to be cheaper, more natural, and more accessible. Tahoe City is awesome; Pete ‘n’ Peters embodies the place with local bar feel and regulars making it feel a bit different than the $10/craft pour spots all around the lake owned by hedge fund bros. The tacos are among the best I ever had at $3/pop. Worth a visit (from an East Coaster).

I tried to like this place I really did, gave it a few chances til this last visit and won’t be going back. Came here on a Thursday night, ordered a round, shook off the bartenders coldness and went to the dart board for a few games. Went back for a second round, the bartenders were busy drinking with the other locals (almost everyone here is under 25) and ignored everyone else waiting to order. Got tired of waiting so when I finally got the attention of one of the drunk bartenders, he gave me my card but no receipt. When I asked him for one, he said he couldn’t find the sale in the system and not to worry about the charge. Sure enough a few days later there’s a charge on my card for who knows what since I got no receipt, and can only assume they gave themselves +20% in tip. Super lame, only stars given are for the dart board and pool tables.

A decent beautiful, cozy sports bar in North Tahoe.. You will get chance to meet the locals from small North Tahoe City town.. Friendly place, had a good time during my stay … Keep up the good work..

We had coasters thrown at us by the bartender at this bar. We handed the bartender my card to pay for drinks for my sister and I. My sister mistakenly picked up the card before it had been ran (after we had been sitting at the bar for about 5 minutes waiting to run the card). The bartender chucked coasters at us to get our attention while we were 3 feet away. I got 3 coasters thrown at me that felt like someone whipping me and my friend got one thrown at her. Completely unprofessional behavior we were 3 feet away from the bar at the juke box. He could have just told us our card hadn’t been run. In fact we only realized the card hasn’t been run when another customer informed us they were trying to get our attention.

I really have never left a negative review, but my recent experience at this establishment left me genuinely shocked and upset. While ordering a second drink for my boyfriend, the older bartender (whose name I didn’t catch) not only refused service without explanation but called me a slur and throwing my credit card back at me. I don’t know what kind of training or standards this place operates under, but this behavior was hostile, unprofessional, and deeply inappropriate. Nobody deserves to be treated with such blatant disrespect.

Nice local sports bar. Friendly bartenders and great selection of drinks. My favorite spot in the area to escape the more touristy vibe of the rest of town. Nice dart boards too. Oh yeah, chilled Jager really seals the deal.

Cafe
Located in Tahoe City, CA, The Dam Cafe is a cozy and charming coffee shop that offers a variety of breakfast burritos, coffee drinks, smoothies, and lunchtime sandwiches. Situated across from the Truckee River outlet and Fanny Bridge at the 'Y' of highway 89 and 28, this little cafe prides itself on serving quality espresso drinks like Illy coffee and teas.
My family rented bikes and rode the trail from Palisades into Tahoe City and stopped at the Dam Cafe for a late lunch. We dropped in right before closing but the staff was gracious and the food was fabulous despite how busy they were. They had a gentleman outside playing music and he chided me for not clapping enough. I would have been upset but he was super nice and talked to us between songs. What did we order? Mostly smoothies and coffee and it was all very good. I love the ample parking and convenient location. I also love supporting local businesses and this one is a good one. Keep your receipt! Bagel sandwiches and smoothie shop! The girls who work there are kind. The food is good! Especially their current special smoked salmon on a bagel. Big portions and good prices. Good for a quick breakfast for a family. Cute small dining area. Update: took off 2 stars .. went a second time. They were rude when busy. I added hot chocolate after our order. Paid for it. But they forgot to put it under my name and didn’t want to give it to me I had to talk her into it and almost offered to show my bank statement because she was being so rude acting like we were trying to trick her.

In a world of boring strip mall coffee shops, this place did not disappoint. The building is cute, there’s some good views, the staff were super sweet, the coffee was good, and the food was delicious. 10/10

Great place great location but food here could definitely use some improvement…. Every time I eat here is literally nothing special… just average food…. No spices nothing special… I would love to give 5 stars but I can’t …. Food is food I guess Addition: yes your cafe in Tahoe City, California … I recently ordered a burrito priced at nearly $18 after tax, and unfortunately, I found it to be quite dry and lacking in flavor. To be candid, I’ve had better burritos from Safeway for just $5.99. While the price isn’t my main concern, the quality of the food did not meet expectations. I believe your team has the potential to deliver a much better culinary experience, and I encourage you to review and refine your recipes and preparation methods. Even a quick review of best practices or tutorials online could offer helpful insights. I’m confident you can elevate the quality of your offerings and hope to see improvements in the future. Wishing you continued success.

We loved the Dam cafe !! The breakfast sandwiches and coffee were stellar AND there was someone playing acoustic guitar that made it such a lovely experience. As of Oct 2025 it was a little hard to find with construction but it's worth it !

This past week, my daughter and I visited Tahoe City, and we are from Texas! We came to the Dam Cafe to grab some breakfast, since we read some good reviews for the most part. Well, we both had a breakfast sandwich with coffee, and it was SO good!!! We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next two days of our stay, and got breakfast, lunch, and a Blueberry Granola smoothie to snack on later in the day, since they close at 1pm. Lucia and Pamela do an excellent job running this place and kitchen! They are so friendly and kind! I came across some reviews that complained about how long it took for their order or the size/amount of food items, and these are my thoughts about those kind of comments: 1. I think some of these negative reviews were written intentionally to discourage people from going there. 2. They make your food when you order, and if you happen to go in a busier time of the day, there's a chance you might wait about 15 minutes, or maybe a bit longer, but trust me, it's worth the wait! Food items we ordered and loved are: breakfast sandwich with avocado, breakfast burritos, lattes, iced coffee, smoothies and coffee muffin. Everything tasted so good.

Wow I cannot say enough good things about this coffee shop! First it is is so so so adorable from the outside and the inside. The service is excellent! The people working inside are so sweet. The coffee is made perfectly and they serve the best coffee cake bread I’ve ever had in my life! I will be dreaming of that coffee cake bread for ages!
