Portion size was great considering the price. S+p calamari was fresh but their customer service and the cleanliness of the venue let them down. Tables were dirty and staff were very rude. It was a 30+ min wait and we were only told once we ordered and it must be the only fish and chip shop in the world which charges extra for lemon.

I basically love everything on our plate. We ordered a platter which (if I remember correctly) had 2 types of fish, prawns, squid and chips. Nice ample table and benches, I think parking was good for 2-3 cars. Highly recommended if you're in the area. This is "Aussie Fish and Chips"... they don't eat it with vinegar.

Great food and even better service! The salt and pepper squid was beautiful and tender. The lovely gentleman that served us went above and beyond for us and even at 11am the place was humming. A Nelson Bay treasure! Thanks Aussie Bobs!

I don’t normally eat deep fried, but when in Rome… I tried the seafood basket. Chips - not that crispy 😒 Fish - could have done with another 30sec in the oil. It was a bit…meh 😕 The other stuff was fine tho. 🙂 Friendly enough staff. 🙂

I had a fish cocktail, potato scallop and calamari ring. They were all tasty and I really liked them! The staff brought my meal to my seat. There was a bit of a wait as they started making the food after ordering, but I was satisfied that I was able to eat them freshly made.👍

This is what a true fish and chip shop should be. You wont find exceptional service or a fancy menu here. What you will find is hearty fish and chips how they should be. I have had fish and chips all across NZ and Australia so I have big expectations when it comes to fish and chips. Aussie Bobs really did deliver. The plan was to order and take it down to the beach, but the wind was cold and it was getting dark so we decided to 'dine in', which was a big patio area with large picnic tables. At the time there were a few other tables of families, one table of what looked like a group of friends, and a few couples. In addition to the tables, there were locals standing waiting for their takeaway orders - this is always a good sign when locals eat here too. After you have ordered and paid, you will be given a number. When your food is ready your number will be called, or they will bring your food out to you if you are dining in. As much as the burgers looked tempting, I decided to stick to the classic fish and chips, though I did get a spring roll and a battered sav on the side. The fish was good, cooked just how I like, and the chips were good. If I was to be fussy, they could have done with more salt BUT they had thought of that and they give you sachets of salt with your meal. It makes sense for you to add more as you can't salt off if there is too much. One thing I did not check is if they had had offered chicken salt. The spring roll was very tasty. The portion of fish and chips was very generous for what I paid. I got the side dishes because I have been burnt before at other fish and chip stores with tiny portions walking away still hungry, but that will not happen here. Overall I really enjoyed my food at Aussie Bobs. It certainly quenched my craving for a good feed of fish and chips.

I came to Bub’s with a serious craving for some classic Nelson Bay-style fish and chips. Originally, I had a couple of other spots in mind, but they were both closed—so Bub’s became the choice of the day. On a horrible, windy, rainy day—the perfect weather for a hot, hearty meal—it felt like a ghost town around the area. Service was quick, and the food arrived just as fast. I ordered the barramundi, which came out with a beautifully crispy batter (and of course, the mandatory sprinkle of chicken salt). The fish was cooked perfectly—tasty, flaky, and fresh. The chips, however, were a bit of a miss—not terrible, but not as good as the fish deserved. Parking was easy, with spots available right out the front. I can imagine this place would be buzzing on a sunny day, with harder-to-find parking and longer wait times—a good sign of a popular local spot. I’d definitely come back—next time, hopefully with better weather and maybe a bigger appetite

Very delicious Fish and Chips. Super convenient with the parking close by. Our batch seemed a bit under fried compared to our friends but more of a personal preference though. Would recommend!! It was also quite entertaining to watch them feed the pelicans

It's very rare that we don't dine in here when visiting Nelson's Bay waterfront area. The food is pretty good here. Can get pretty busy, also the place is very cosy.

Had barramundi fish & chips and salt & pepper squids for lunch when visiting Nelson Bay recently. Their battered fish was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked. However the chips and salt & pepper squids were really below standards and disappointing. They’re not crunchy or hot at all. The $19 valued squids portion was relatively small.

From the exorbitant prices for fish that looked and tasted like they had just cleared out the fish from the bottom of the freezer to the surly service. We should have saved our money. The chips were all we could eat.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I ordered the Family Feast set and asked if it could all be crumbed. The lady at the counter said they could only do the 2 fish fillets crumbed and the rest would be battered. I agreed, but when I got the order, everything was battered instead. A bit disappointing as I was really hoping for the crumbed fish. On the positive side, the fish and chips weren’t oily, portions were decent, and the food was okay overall.

Great place to have your seafood lunch. The fish & others are really cooked well and fresh. Only the lobster and crab not to my expectation. Definitely will come again

We ordered meals from here twice, fish and chips and then my son had a hamburger and chips on his own the day before. The hamburger was still raw in the centre and his chips were soggy when he got home and went to eat it. The fish and chips we had were also soggy. My son spent a lot of last night throwing up after he ate the fish and chips. Take away food should not be soggy when you get home ( after a 5 min drive). So I would not suggest this place.

THE best Schnitzel Burger I have ever had. Schnitzel Overload gets the thumbs up. The Missus wasn't overly happy with her portion size of fish. Overall not a bad spot for a quick bite.

Food was eaten outside of shop, got a seafood basket. Chips could have been cooked a few minutes longer, fish batter on one of the two pieces was like soggy wet bread on the inside, calamari was like jerky, other pieces I didn’t personally try. Just a bit mid overall, eatable but not really worth the $34

Excellent seafood basket Friday evening, served quickly by a very friendly crew. The battered fish was nice and crispy as were the chips and the calamari were delicious. For me it beat the local shop that is doing "famous fish&chips" any time. Very good value for money too.

Asked for a plain burger with BBQ sauce, ended up with a cheeseburger no tomato, no lettuce no onion, no beetroot. Must be the maccas generation running the store. Fish was overcooked and over ripe, chips were undercooked and cold. No salt. I will not eat this rubbish again even if it's the last fish & chips store left in Port Stephens.

I was happy with the food. The cocktail fish are very tasty, but on the smaller side compared with other shops. The calamari was also tasty (not rings, but pieces of battered squid (like salt &pepper squid), just FYI). The potato scallops are much smaller than traditional takeaway size, which was a bit disappointing. We got the Mermaid Basket and a few extra calamari and potato scallops, and it fed 3 adults + 3 little kids (<9yrs old) pretty comfortably. Prices have increased a fair bit since some of the older menu photos on Google (I've posted newer prices in attached photos). It's not cheap, but the quality made up for it. Probably our favourite in the Nelson Bay area at the moment.

This is the proper "hamburger shop" fish and chips of my childhood. Excellent value, decent quality fish and well cooked. I have lived in the area for 6 months and tried all of the fish and chips on offer. I would consider this to be the best. Nothing fancy, but perfect for taking down to the waterfront.

We ordered the traditional veg, Italian meatball, Mediterranean prawn, tandoori chicken and a garlic bread pizzas they were all super yum. The only downside was we ordered ‘garlic bread’ but got a given a garlic bread pizza instead, it was really nice but we were wanting the bread.

Staff were lovely, pizza was great. Prices are great too. The shop smells amazing 😍

While visiting Nelson Bay for a short holiday getaway from Melbourne, my partner and I stumbled upon Sharkys Pizza by chance as we were driving back to our accommodation one evening. The glowing sign and welcoming vibe caught our attention immediately, so we made a spontaneous decision to give it a try for dinner that night — and we’re so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and friendly. The team behind the counter were upbeat, helpful, and genuinely passionate about their food. We placed our order and didn’t have to wait long at all before being handed a box of deliciously aromatic, piping-hot pizza. The smell alone was enough to convince us we were in for something special. And we were right — this was hands-down the best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The crust was perfectly cooked: crisp on the outside with just the right amount of chew. But what really set it apart were the toppings. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful, and it was clear that Sharkys doesn’t cut corners when it comes to quality ingredients. We ordered a couple of different pizzas to share, and every slice was a hit. Decent local pizza place. Be wary of price shock, the prices on their pamphlets are out of date (the 2 pizza deal is $39.95). Got the supreme and meat lovers, both pizzas were okay but nothing to rave about. Would go here again if I was desperate for a pizza as they are better than Dominos

Sharkys Pizza Shack is a Nelson Bay OG take away pizza shop. Nestled away from the main shopping precinct, do yourself a favour and walk/drive the extra 3 mins to get yourself the best pizza in the Bay area. The staff are friendly and helpful, the owner is a most beautiful lady who has supported the Bay for 13 years. The Pizzas are hot, fresh and tasty and there is a wide variety to temp you. Go and find this little gem of a takeaway shop, you won't be disappointed!

Ordered the pizzas for pickup online for pick up. The estimated time for pick up was pretty good. Quality of the pizza crust was great, crispy underside and the rest was soft and chewy. Toppings was also quality and full of flavour unlike other certain pizza chains.

Between two we shared a crumbed Snapper and a crumbed NZ Hoki with a medium chips. All came out in the one container, which was thoughtful. A wooden fork would have made the eating a little easier. The generous portions of fish were cooked to perfection and the chips excellent. The table we first sat at was wet and could have been so for a while as it had not been raining. There were no serviettes on the table nor in the pack, however, the serviette dispenser was brought out after a short while.

Located in a peaceful, small town, this spot is a great place to stop on your way back to Sydney. The fish burgers are made with real fish, though they could benefit from grilled options and a sourdough bread instead of a sweet bun. There's outdoor seating available, but keep in mind there are no bathroom facilities. Overall, it's a solid takeaway shop. General portions of fish and chips.

The worst fish taco ever, It started out cold so he put it in the microwave it is the size of a kebab not a taco and the fish had no flavour at all. I even tried just eating the fish alone still not one bit of flavour. He was quite rude and opinionated when i asked for chicken he said it’s terrible that people put chicken salt on fish. all in all i will never go back

We were looking for a good old fish and chips shop for lunch after a morning at the beach Just wanted the big wrapped up package of chips with some fish and scallops, covered in the chicken salt…. You know, walk in sand on the feet get the package and out👏👏 LJs delivered, they had all the goodness that is bad that fills the hole. The food wasn’t the greatest ever in the world of fish and chips but it was pretty good. If your in the Anna Bay and surrounding area this is the go to for the goodness.

We stopped in on Fathers Day for lunch. The fish and chips were great The potato scallops fluffy and had a lovely crunch. The salad was really well constructed and fresh.

Fish & chips very good. On 9/9/25 a pack for one person is $15.50 and comes with a large piece of fish, enough chips and a lemon wedge. Very nicely done and enough for a hearty appetite.

After asking a simple question about whether a customer asks for no cheese on a burger does that mean you remove the pickles too - I was abused by staff at the drive through window… will never eat again at this franchise. The staff has no customer service or regard for customers.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The food come to us looking like it had been wrapped by a small child. We raised our concerns with the shift manager (Saturday morning 14/06/2025 and she said yes I know that’s how the food is being presented. She asked, what do you want me to do, re wrap it ? No wonder the food is a discrace when the manager has absolutely 0 care factor. Mac Donald’s Australia, you’re a discrase.

Yuck. The place is disgusting, seriously need a deep clean. There is food on the floor in the corners like it’s not been cleaned for a long time. Also you can see just yucky filth everywhere. Not a place to consume food or trust they are cooking in a clean environment. To top it off I went to the toilet and there was a blockage in the wee area, smashed tiles around and the toilet roll holder smashed. Really gross. Never seen a maccas like this

Just got maccas at Raymond terrace and get home to eat my Big Mac and open it with no bun on the top!!!

Not just to have the burger all messed up but there was a hair in the burger.

I went there and they got wrong in almost everything we had to ask them to put bacon in the big arch and it took 20 minutes. But it was good. The fries were cold and without salt.

Food was pretty good and the staff was nice, tables and seats were clean, the main issue was just the bathroom, horrible smell and what I hope was water, all over the floor. Rusty door handle and sink, Felt more gross coming out than going in

Friendly staff, coffee was alright (much needed!), view was lovely! Sitting outside we had a whole lot of flies but I think that's unavoidable! Will have to try the seafood another time!

We stopped in for lunch during a short stay in Nelson Bay in late autumn and loved the fish and chips we ordered. The staff were welcoming and helpful with questions we asked about the menus. Our fish and chips were cooked beautifully with a crispy batter making them even better to eat. This is a good quality fish and chip venue with eat in and take away.

Awesome food. But the area is going down hill of late.. also switch your gravy to Maggie. Trust me. All the big seafood places run Maggie gravy.. I have to edit this review, later a few hours later I got a slight sickness like seafood poisoning. Not as bad as 8 bulls in Hamilton south but still I did get a bit sick from your food. Sorry guys. I have to change the 5 star rating to 1 star rating.

Should work on portion sizes.. Paid 17 dollars for calamari and chips and a fish cocktail +sauces and it came out on a small dinner plate like the ones you get at a buffet. We ate at the place down the road near the WESTPAC and for the Same price we got double the food and it tasted better. Really should consider not being stingy if you want to charge these prices

Over charged and under served I asked for a small chips as I didn't think I had time for fish to cook. Server said that fish cocktails would take the same time, so convinced me to have those as well. Charged for the fish cocktails and chips then only gave me the chips. Was a take away order as I was in a rush so I just paid double for half of what I ordered. Tried to call to get a refund or explanation as I am from out of area, but number out of service.

Yummy!!!! Best fish n chips we have had in ages. Everything was fresh and well cooked, chips were nice and crunchy. We will be back here next time we visit Nelson Bay.

Friday night arriving in Shoal Bay in awful weather. Looking for a quick meal. They were just closing but took pity on us weary travellers and put together two outstanding kebabs. Highly recommend you visit - for the delicious kebabs and outstanding service.

The chicken Gozleme was excellent! The family and I had it for breakfast on our visit to Shoal Bay. I will definitely come back and recommend it to all.

Food was amazing, the most amazing and filled kebab I have ever had, even got a lesson off the owner on how to properly eat it so that the generous filling doesn’t fall out. 10/10 would definitely recommend

Place is really dirty. Tables hadn't been cleaned or cleared. Food all over the floor. We had to clear a table so we could sit down. We were there for 40 minutes and no one cleared while we were there. Rubbish bins were over flowing with rubbish. Dirtiest place I have ever seen.

The boy that was ment to be cleaning the dining area maybe someone should show him how. He walked to the big it was over flowing and he walked away and never come back out to empty it! For $61 (prices gone up) to feed a family of 4, we had to wait 30 mins, chips were upside down in the bag, they gave us the wrong cheeseburger, and forgot our quarter pounder. Worst service ever and worst $61 spent. Tables aren’t clean either, can’t see anyone cleaning them. Ridiculous service. Go a bit further to the next Maccas! Shame on this place.

Rude especially the blond behind the cafe, very abrupt when advised i had been given the incorrect milk in my coffee in the drive through. They make you feel guilty for asking. The staff at the drive through kindly attempted another but it was cold. So went back to the blond and she meets again with hostility. 30/8 at 0850 approximately. No apology from anyone. The mistake originally was from the ordering at drive through.

Arrived before 7pm on a cold winter night to have dinner and to break up a long journey. Walking in we noticed the indoor dining area was blocked by chairs with no diners. The only indoor seating were 6 chairs in the corner near the toilets and they were all taken. When our meal arrived, I asked if we could sit in the blocked off dining area because there were no other seats available inside the store and it was cold outside. I was told that many people had already been told they could not sit in there so no we could not. We had to sit outside in the cold and to top it all off the meal was poor quality. Also, all the bins were full and overflowing. This store is a disgrace to McDonalds.

Unfortunately I can't give a good review. This store has changed. We have always stopped here be it morning noon or night on our way to and from Sydney. They know longer have the nice coffee bar like they used to. On Sunday when we went there we just went wow it's worse than Friday when we stopped. The place was dirty with dirty tables bins over flowing food in crevices on the seats sold out of orange juice. We had to wipe our table before sitting and eating. The ladies toilets were grubby with paper over the floor out of toilet paper in a couple of toilets. The wash basins were dirty and the toilets were not nice to go into. Sorry but its not good enough. I get that staff are short in places but if that's the case the owners have to step up. No tables are being wiped garbages not emptied the place has really changed. We have been going there for over 13 years. I don't think we will go there again. The way things are you have to keep on top of the cleanliness it just doesn't cut it at the moment. I think subway across the road will get the nod.

Ordered ham,cheese and tomato toastie dark toasted, came out light, ordered small chips , got half a packet and warm, sent back, and ordered a coffee EXTRA HOT ,came out like warm. Also asked for table service , got the number but not delivered to table. Worst meal I have had here in all the years I have stopped here. Staff need to put their act together. First time to complain.

I’m sorry, but I ordered a beef onion pizza and literally what they gave me was some cat food on a pizza base I literally asked them to add cheese crust and the cheese was so thin and it was so dry. The feelings had not enough beef on it. It was just it only had like just bread and onion.

Ordered a pizza online for pick up/delivery to my car on the way home from the Groovin the moo Festival. Our pizza was ready when we arrived. It was brought out to our car straight away. It was hot and fresh. This was one of the best pizzas I have ever had from Domino's.

We ordered online for pickup (all vegetarian options) and they were ready pretty quick. The toppings were generous and the pizzas/sides were well cooked. Much better than our local domino’s here in Sydney. Definitely recommended! Can’t really rate the atmosphere or service…

We had pizzas delivered last night, one was very average and the other was was squashed the topping had run off it. Absolutely disgusting.

We ordered 2 combo pizza boxes and 2 lava puff rolls the pizzas were perfect and delicious as well as the 2 sides but When it came to the lava rolls one was only half cooked it was practically still dough but the other 1 was perfect which we thought was rather odd because being on the same order you would think it would come from the same batch

Same as other reviews and I should have read before we got here…this place is filthy! They don’t have anyone cleaning, there food scraps on the tables chairs and floor! I had to wipe down a table in order to sit down to eat. Busy or what it is their manager’s job to ensure they have the right resources to keep the place running well and meet hygiene standards. This is not a third world country !

This place is filthy, from overflowing bins, tables that need to be cleared and the other tables wiped down, it felt grotty eating in there. The toilets weren't any better. How hard is it to delegate one team member to clean the front of house?

Food was ok, cleanliness of the place disgusting , toilets looked like they get cleaned once a month, garbage bins were all over flowing inside and out. There was heaps of rubbish even in the car park. Cant imagine what the kitchen was like where they cook. Wouldn’t ever go there again.

Customer service is normally very good, however it’s the food quality that can be up and down. So many times they run out of certain items or the soft serve machine isn’t working.

Waited for 10 mins for cold fries and chixken nuggets at williamstown today! Asked for more fries and waited another 3 mins Had to ask for our sofr drink Nuggets cold Rang and spoke to manager who told me they were short staffed and would have to wait till the drive thru was less busy! Waited another 10 mins No sighn of manager! To say we are disappointed ia an understatement!

How about we serve the people waiting first / the longest in the drive thru. Maybe there would be less abuse of your staff if you actually used the monitoring system you've installed.

Ordered thru drive thru had to wait 9 mins for apple pies(i agreed) but was given food first so by time i got home it was cold and should have checked but my burger wasnt there rang up they dont deliver what you are missing and they dont refund your money like they do in a supermarket or bunnings they just give you a code for a replacement next time

Disappointed to see the staff close off 3/4 of the indoor seating area at 8.45pm when they close at 10pm. As travellers spending a lot of time on the road it is a lot nicer to be able to sit and enjoy a meal without sitting on top of other people & at dirty tables. When we attempted to use the small table at the edge of the so called “closed off area” we were told by the staff to move. You would think that during a holiday period knowing there are lots of people travelling you’d be more hospitable. Also asked for no tomato on the burger…. 0/10 for effort from this team.

Stopped at Heatherbrae Hungry Jacks today with family and o seas family, I am seriously stunned by the sheer unhygenic state of outside eating area, Every chair and table covered in bird poo, and it was obvious some of it was days there, I heaved, so discusting for a food outlet ! Whats going on with staff maintaining hygien, and management ?? if any. Stunned

Really great experience! I am vegetarian so am used to waiting when ordering a plant burger from hungry jacks. However, these guys went out of the way to let me know the extended wait time for my order, apologised, and sized up my meal. I am very grateful for this service and food was delicious and fresh.

Overall an amazing time. Workers are kind and it was very tidy. I’m not sure the name of the employee that handled me my food but she complimented my shirt. Absolutely made my day.

We waited 15 minutes in the drive thru for our food to be cold (a cheeseburger meal and a cheese burger)5 cars went thru the drive thru while waiting for food, when I return the food for fresh food food was over heated to the point that the burger wraper was melting. Manger had my bitten burger on her hand and still serving customers. Extremely unprofessional, staff need better training and appropriate ways to deal with poor feed back

First time in Nelson Bay, ordered Godfather pizza expecting usual well-topped pizza. Very disappointed with the lack of topping as can be seen in the picture. Customer service was fine, pizza was a huge disappointment.

The pizza seemed like it had been cooked, left to sit on the bench for an hour, and then cooked again. It was burnt and stale. This is why people prefer the Salamander Bay Domino’s.

Average quality pizzas, the 4 I ordered had a chewy, almost raw dough texture and was not as crispy as other stores I have purchased from. We were hungry so ate them. Not the worst pizza I've bought, but certainly not the best either. They did look good though.

Great food, but coming from a Domino’s worker, the staff members do not know how to fold there boxes.

Just had a conversation with the "store manager 'about missing pizzas snd was told that after the driver could not find out house , which has the largest number 1outside and was well lit he went home I rang after 2hours only to be told they d send another and there would be no charge another hour went past and we just chucked them in fridge. Then I noticed that I indeed had been charged and she said "No Way" would my money be reimbursed I have read the blurb that they send out. But please there are so many good pizza places. Just give Domino's pizza st Nelson Bay a wide berth You will be wasting your money. Just like we did

Halal chicken from steggles! Fantastic service and quick turn around for my order. Only took five minutes at off peak. I got a chicken pizza with the lot, unfortunately though very well made with a great dough base, the pizza was lacking in seasoning. Overall two steps higher then pizza hut and domino's, but they need some finishing seasoning.

$65 for 2X pizzas (ordinary) chicken wings that were more cooked then half the locals, garlic bread that could have been cooked for longer and some burnt churros with a side of what I’m assuming is rikodeine and took nearly 2 hours and 6 ignored phone calls to get it delivered. When the phone was finally answered I was told they “were not taking orders because they were running late for catering” but I was just trying to advise them my order that they had happily taken the money from me for (and did not advise me they were catering) that I had been waiting for over an hour for it to be delivered. Anyways I’ll stick to domino’s from now on.

We are local customers, who order fairly frequently. The pizzas are great, on the rare occasion we order in person the staff a genuinely fantastic, however, when we order online, more often than not, and the deliveries are very slow. If, for example, the store specify a 35 minute deliver time, it often seems to take an hour more then they stated. For example, a 7:30 pm delivery time has turned into an 8:30-9:00 pm delivery time on our last 4 consecutive orders. In summary: The staff are pleasant, they are a small, local business, the food is fantastic, they could improve their delivery, times drastically. Significantly better than the local dominoes, just plan ahead.

Ordered some pizzas tonight for delivery at 7:02, estimated wait time was 45 minutes so expected delivery time was 7:47, not too bad. Waited until 8:20pm, still no update so I gave them a call, the young person on the phone put me on hold to go check what was going on, and then another young person picked up the phone from hold with an abrupt “what do you want” I explained what was going on and was then put on hold again, when they came back they explained they were waiting for a delivery driver as they only had 2 on. Our order was finally delivered at 9:10pm. No apologies for how late it was or how long it took, and we only received a small coke when we ordered a 2L. The pizza although was very good as per usual, just a little disappointed in the lack of service.

The pizzas are absolutely amazing. Beats Domino's hands down. The only 2 problems I have is the time it took to cook order and the cost of extra items. Need to explain to customers what pizzas are available for the specials and what ones will cost extra

Great little pizza shop! Always satisfies when we get our pizzas from here. Got the three pizza deal last night and the meat lovers pizza was honestly by far the best pizza I think I’ve ever had, just had some for lunch and had to leave a review.. so thanks Aussie pizza, keep it up 😍

Tasty, hand-tossed, thin-crust pizzas served in a newly renovated space. Staff is lively and friendly - a mix of adults and local kids. A few tables around the dining room, but much of the business seems to be take-away and delivery. Restaurant was playing an eclectic mix of ‘70s-2000s hard rock when I visited, and the owner has a Rage Against the Machine album cover matted and framed above the kitchen door. For me, that was a good indicator that I was in the right place. If you’re staying in Nelson Bay or Shoal Bay, I think this spot is worth the effort.

You all know the score, drive out of Sydney or Melbourne & lower your expectations, drive to a coastal tourist spot & lower it again, accept what you get eh. But not here, this is a hyperfriendly, well run & innovative pizzeria. We shared large seafood & Moroccan lamb pizzas & rated both highly. The seafood had at least 3 bits of prawn or calamari on each slice & the tomato sauce complimented rather than overpowered while a combination of lamb, couscous & feta should not have worked but really did. Are they the best pizzas ever? No, but given a chance they'll mount a case. Really enjoyable & they deserve success.

Had dinner tonight at Cartel pizza and I can not fault a single thing about the meals. They came our fast and fresh. Amazing flavours and you can taste the love cooked in every meal. Customer service was awesome and the lady working went above and beyond. New young owners have done an awesome job! Cant wait to come back!! 😁😁😁

It took a whole hour to recieve our pizza when we ordered. The lady assured that it would take no longer than 45 minutes however we waited another 15 minutes for our order when we arrived. There was no one else waiting. A pizza only usually takes 5 minutes to prepare and 8 minutes to cook. Taking into consideration the they had other orders it should not take 1 hour to make 3 pizzas The Pizza crust was thin, which is acceptable when cooked right and enough yeast added to create a fluffy texture. However the pizza received was over cooked with the crust burnt and we felt as if we were eating cardboard. There was minimal topping added to pizzas which resulted in the pizzas being burnt. Overall would not recommend this place.

Really liked the pizza from Cartel. Had the pepperoni pizza and added mushroom…it was really good. Good flavours, excellent crust, and it was ready in short time. The other pizza we got was the tandoori pizza, which was also super tasty. I’d come back here again.

Amazing, and friendly service, especially considering we arrived right before closing time. The quality of the pizzas were outstanding and delicious! Definitely worth checking out if you're ever in this holiday spot.

Chips too salty When I picked my order, no tissues, no sauces. My burger was cold and even if I asked them to heat this one again, it stayed cold. The hot and crispy pieces were not very good and greasy.

Big shout out to Emma on drive through , her personality is like no other, absolutely lit up our day. We need more of her in our country. Food was the nicest we’ve received as far as takeaway goes in a long time, very hot and fresh.

The new zinger Bahn MI was really good! Just like a real one except for the Pate. Worth a try!

This would have to be the worst KFC around. They have a sign saying they close at 10pm on a Tuesday night. We got there at 9:45pm and they were not taking orders. I know it’s only 15 mins but you’d expect to be served right up until 10pm when they close for business. Why bother even having a closing time? We ended up going to another takeaway store in the area. On top of that, the whole no cash accepted (which will shortly be illegal) is just bad service.

If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. I had the worst experience at this Subway location. I was served by a woman named Millie, and her attitude was completely unprofessional and rude. After waiting in line for a while, it was finally my turn to order. As she was making my sandwich, I decided to add one more sub to my order. There were six people waiting behind me, and instead of just adding the extra sandwich, Millie actually demanded that I go back to the end of the line. This is not how you treat customers, especially when there’s no need for such a ridiculous request. Her behavior was completely unacceptable, and I won’t be returning.

i had a worker called dylan when i came to subway salamander bay. he was kind and polite and asked me questions to make sure my order was perfect. when i got my sub everything was exactly how i wanted it and he even gave me extra onion (which i asked for). if you go to subway salamander bay, dylan is the perfect server for you!

I was overcharged and even when their Equipment wasn’t working. Upon asking the price increase, they’d mentioned that the price got hiked a month ago but it was the same for other subways

I come here every other day, staff are awesome and lovely, they make you feel welcome there and they know how to make their subs 🔥 I been to plenty of other subways but none have compared - Koda :D

Never had a 6" sub from here before but wow it was excellent wish I had got the foot long one, I had the leg ham white bread, spicy mayo. Its my go to place from now on well done guys

Beautiful staff at Salamander Bay Subway. Witnessed two young staff today who handled a nasty customer extremely well. This lady didn’t want to pay for her add on salad but the staff stood their ground after it clearly states certain salads are extra in multiple places on the shop front. Well done for handling the situation well despite being spoken to extremely poorly.

$18.90 for a footlong steak and cheese ... $25.90 for a meal... For the same footlong price I could buy a whole bbq chicken, 6 rolls and a bag of salad at woolies... Those prices are disgusting and just taking the piss

I assume that the Pizzas aren't strategically cut into the most uneven pieces I've ever seen. The skill to cut a pizza is at the level I'd expect from someone has worked there for the first shift of their lifetime. However, it happens every time. I can show you how it should be if you need.

Bought the new sausage and onion, and beef and cheese pizza's and OMG they were perfect!!! The ratio's were spot on exactly how I like it, nice and hot, fresh, and delicious, even the garlic bread was great. Whoever the cook was tonight, well done 👍

Wow... this shop needs some serious management.... floors are dirty... glass doors and windows look like they have NEVER been cleaned.... pizza toppings are hit and miss.....and I think they all need lessons in how to cut a pizza in equal pieces.... and maybe someone should action people's complaints... I'm sure your losing business......

Knocked, dumped my food on the porch in the rain, and ran back down my driveway in the space of like 5 seconds (I was literally like 3 metres from the door when they knocked). Also an hour late. I was fine with it being late, but dumping it on my wet doorstep without even giving me a chance to open the door isn't cool. Cheers.

Worst dominoes ever. Only came here because medowie had a blackout. No toppings on the pizza. 4 pieces of chicken on the entire pizza. We had to fight for a piece with chicken on it. Thin and crispy pepperoni so over cooked it disintegrated and they cannot cut a pizza to save their lives. I’m sad.

Best pizza in the town. It is always great to have Dominos pizza. You do not have dining space here. This is like a takeaway outlet.

Have given this store so many opportunities but have lost patience. Service is terrible, takes far too long for staff to acknowledge you. Quality of pizza is always terrible. Young staff are horribly trained.

Guzman y Gomez - Heatherbrae is our absolute go-to spot! The vibe is always on point — super clean, quick service, and the team is consistently friendly and efficient. The pulled pork bowl is next-level delicious — perfectly seasoned, tender, and packed with flavor. And don’t even get me started on the street sweet corn — legit addictive and always fresh. Whether it’s a quick lunch stop or a casual dinner run, this place never misses. 100% recommend if you’re after quality Mexican food done right every single time.

Food is always good but sitting in a fast food restaurant that’s as if I am in 3rd world country in like Indian is a turn off. Food scraps left all over the table, napkins and other rubbish all over the floors, dirty bathrooms and too make it worse the kitchen had food scraps all over the floor and a chopping board next to it. I mentioned it to the Indian lady and all she said was that it’s 30 minutes till closing time 🤌… and just to add to it, one of the chefs/cooks walked to the bathroom and napkin stuck to his shoe and his presentation was the terrible. I would expect better from such highly regarded franchise. We stopped at other Guzman and Gomez restaurants have been great.

Food and service is ordinary. Eat elsewhere if you can. Chicken burrito has scrap of chicken and rest is filler. Didn't ask for quac, got quac, and charged for it. Check your receipt before collecting food. Enchilada was the only save, food wise.

Really not GyG’s best work … been to these further up the coast and maybe our expectations were shaped by coffs and port … large drinks… not really portion sizes all over the place the eggs luke warm and small … and let’s not talk toilets .. dirty and no paper .. really only just deserved the 1 star

I order I brisket burrito on a meal at 11:58am and I ended up asking twice for may order after a long wait, I finally got it at 12:36pm. It was 40 minutes wait for a single order. Looks like they give priority to the drive through and the ones who order through the phone as well. It happens on Friday 12th 2025. Definitely is wasn’t a good experience that all.

In a great location for convenience before the highway but food is always cold and the meat is always more fat than actual meat. Very disappointing. Has happened on numerous occasions. You’re better off going to a different GYG with better quality food.

Advertised as 'woodfired', no wood in the ovens, but instead only gas. Proclaims wood was 'too wet' but reviews from months ago claim this was a similar issue. $56 for two pathetic pizzas. Dough burnt on the outside, 1mm thin, minimal cheese and sloppy toppings falling off as you eat. Bitterly disappointed. Pick your game up guys, Domino's value range would've been a better choice...... Photos below show the 'prawn option'..

Ordered takeaway from this place on our first night in Port Stephens. We ordered at 7:45pm and the order was ready to pickup at 8pm. Pizzas were nice. BBQ chicken needed some more BBQ sauce but we just added extra at home. Not sure the pizzas are wood fired but they were nice nonetheless.

Fantastic pizza, and you can watch it cooking in the rotating fire oven. Very small inside dining area, some seating outside but set-up seemed more well suited to take-away and there are plenty of nearby scenic dining options with tables and chairs. The pizzas travelled well back to our house (about 20mins drive) and were still hot and the base crispy!

If I could give less than a star I would, owners appear to have no idea what it means to own an authentic feeling pizzeria. First off they gave one of my pizzas to someone else and had to chase them up the street to retrieve it, honest mistake I’m sure, it happens. The place is very bland and uninviting Pepperoni pizza was okay I guess but the crust was like chewing on cardboard The supreme on the other hand was a whole other beast, pepperoni was undercooked and rubbery, ham was undercooked, everything tasted frozen, the olives had no flavour at all, could barely even tell it was an olive eating one by itself the base was so thin and soggy that it wrinkled like paper when trying to pick it up, all the ingredients just slid off with no cheese or anything even trying to hold it in place. The crust was like chewing on spongey rubber and I even had a bit of raw dough inside the crust.. even though the top of the crust was burnt to a crisp??? Original owners did a far better job, and were actually proud of the product they produced. Incredibly disappointed in a local business that used to be good.

Love the thin crust pizza. Its unfortunate that we were unable to try out their pasta. Bet it would taste good as well! Give it a try if you are nearby the vicinity!!
