Stockland Forster Shopping Centre is a must-visit destination, especially during their massive 5-day Super Sale event. It's a clean and charming complex with an outdoor children's play area and well-equipped parents' room. The variety of supermarkets and specialty shops make it convenient for all your needs. One unique feature is the trolley geofencing system, ensuring trolleys are always available. Visitors rave about the great shopping options and fantastic bargains, making it an awesome experience overall.
Stockland Forster Shopping Centre is a true gem in Forster, NSW. The centre offers a wide variety of stores, from major retailers to unique local boutiques, ensuring a comprehensive shopping experience. The layout is spacious and clean, making navigation a breeze. Ample parking and accessible facilities add to the convenience. The food court provides diverse dining options, catering to all tastes. What sets this centre apart is the friendly and helpful staff who go above and beyond to assist shoppers. Whether you're running errands or enjoying a leisurely day out, Stockland Forster delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended!

Definitely a go to place almost twice a week when we were still living in the twin towns. A nice clean quaint shopping complex for a nice lovely town. My kid loved the outdoor children's play area, enjoying seeing other kids having fun too. I, on the other hand, liked the complete clean well-equipped parents room where tots can also enjoy in the little play area. There's several supermarkets to choose from and lots of specialty shops to scour while waiting for your car to be serviced. Food shops and restaurants are also varied, so you can choose whatever you fancy when you're hungry, from Japanese food to Chinese food. There's also ample parking space.

After having car damaged in car park, I tried to have the customer service make an announcement to get the car owners to return to their car to show them the damage they had caused. I was informed that they do not have a PA system and could not help. This is appalling in this day and age and should be investigated and fixed. Consequently I was left with a security person to try and help me but after waiting for 1 1/2 hours the owner did not arrive and I had to leave with a damaged car and little hope of getting any further information. Stocklands needs to look after its customers better!
Kerri S — Google review
Having a coffee out side with my dog yesterday, as we have done for four years, when big security guard confronts me. Tells me to move on as there is now a blanket ban on dogs anywhere on the Stockland site. Cafe owner questioned guard but no give. Saw customer service staff who gave a bunch of rubbish reasons and mentioned a new Centre Manager was the cause. At a time when you can even have dogs on planes this seems a ridiculous decision. No more shopping at Stockland Forster.
Ross M — Google review
Excellent shopping centre that has Coles, Liquorland and too many specialty stores to mention , however there is no butcher . Carpark is massive and the refurbished amenities are very clean & modern .
JT — Google review
Forster is a very relaxed laid back area with a very nice community. This is a very clean centre with some good quality ladies clothes shops,a kiddie play area and plenty of parking but it has lot of empty stands in it.It has no restaurants and could do with an Italian and Thai restaurant in it as it only has a few coffee bars with snacks. There is nowhere to go for a relaxed evening meal in it. It has three audiology stores and one called Bay Audio has women standing on common property outside the store harassing people of al ages to have a hearing test.People say they have no luck in contacting centre management to report them as they don't appear to have an email address. The centre is losing business as quite a few stores open and close when they want to, which I am sure is not permitted in their contracts, so I can only assume that the centre it is not well managed.

Throughout the week, Tartt offers a variety of beverages such as coffee and tea, as well as breakfast and lunch options. However, on Fridays and Saturdays, they extend their hours to accommodate late-night patrons. In addition to their drinks and meals, Tartt also serves pizza and has a selection of beers on tap. For those seeking a more refined option, they boast an extensive wine list.
Attended this venue on Boxing Day. I had the eggs Benedict with avocado and hash brown. It was probably one of the best eggs Benedict’s I’ve ever had. This premises has an outdoor seating area which is large and has a really nice vibe. The coffee was also on point too. I would recommend this cafe to anyone in the Forster area.

Who knew this Eggs Bene obsessed girl would have to travel half way around the globe to find the pinnacle for Eggs Benedict. Let's just say that this Bene is the dish for which ALL others will tragically never live up to. (Solid prediction) Perfect poach, with a house made hollandaise of the most decadent, I never thought possible, kind. It just gets better from there and you don't question how, it just does. Service was outstanding; informal, but it works. Hip, classy funky, and filled with beautiful locals; Aussie's who are privileged to live in this gorgeous country (and have Tartt available to them as a bonus in this beautiful little NSW city of Forster). Can a dish prepared by a darling yummy Chef make the whole food portion of your Holiday the best ever? Yep. Oh, and try the Brisket Bene...I had a sneak peak after ordering traditional; a beautiful thing.
Stephanie S — Google review
Excellent spot for breakfast on a fairly quiet one way street. Parking might be a bit finnicky but worth a short walk. I got the brisket Benedict and a delicious iced coffee. Highly recommend the tartt relish, really does add a different level to the dish. Worth the trip for the relish alone.
Kieran G — Google review
We were disappointed with our brunch experience today. Both the steak sandwich and BLT were overloaded with sauce, resulting in soggy and sloppy bread. The steak was thin and small and overly tenderised with bicarb, and our drinks were incorrect, requiring a return for correction. Our hands were covered in sauce. I had removed some sauce and still 1/2 plate was filled with sauce.
Quachet — Google review
I regularly eat and drink coffee at Tartt, why because it’s good and consistent. (One of my regular spots) The front-age is nice and leafy/shaded, good for people watching or zoning out. Staff try hard and are on to it. Good local cafe in a good location. Parking can be slow so be patient and you’ll find one in the street or carpark nearby. Grab a takeaway and a brekky bun and watch the Dolphins in the Lake

Food is good, thankfully. Service is poor to nil. Many tables left unclean for extended time. Cookies are terrible.

This place is amazing. Great coffee, amazing service (very friendly, welcoming and helpful) and it’s such a nice place to sit and enjoy. They’ve done great with the decor and colour scheme. Tons of great cakes to choose from - highly recommend.

Great spot to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. I liked the outdoor seating and the window seat facing the street from which you can watch the world go by. As John Lennon would say "I am just seating here watching the wheels go round and round" 👀 The food was good, offering a variety of the typical Australian breakfast options, such as the brisket Benedict.

Cafe
Cafe Toscano in Forster is a charming blend of an enchanted garden, chic Parisian vibes, and Italian sophistication. Inspired by the flavors of the Amalfi Coast, this favorite spot offers menus that showcase the simple and traditional tastes of Tuscany. The bright brunch spread includes delights like Tuscan fruit salad and twice-cooked braised pork belly with rosemary and maple veal jus.
A bustling little seaside gem. Hira was especially attentive and did regular checkins even though the restaurant was at capacity. Ryan was extremely impressive in all aspects of service and made our experience extra special. I highly recommend and it is a pet friendly venue. Gluten free options available. Staff were the cherry on top with their amazing attitudes and we were grateful considering we get the long weekend and they were in service. Gold stars!

We had a spectacular 30th anniversary dinner at Cafe Toscano. The food was amazing but the night was made really special by Hira the manager of the restaurant. He made sure that we were beautifully looked after and even organised a delicious dessert for us to top off our night. Cannot recommend all the staff highly enough. Thankyou for making our special night even more memorable.

We had such a beautiful dinner. The food was glorious!!! Espresso Martini went sown like a treat.Great service, staff were professional & attentive. The ambience was relaxing, welcoming for couples to families. Such a beautifully decorated restaurant. We enjoyed Cafe Toscano so much, we recommended it a family in the street still deciding on where they were dining.

Beautiful food, could not complain. Second time enjoying food. Sadly service was another question. Mixed up drink order, we just accept didn't say anything. Only drink service was at start of night. Waited and waited on bill. Asked for takeaway container after waiting patiently took home wrapped in serviette. On saying to waitress on way out sarcastically thanking for takeaway container.. her response was oh I forgot... no service after took our order would hate to see on a busy night.

Nestled in a breezy locale with stunning views of Wallis Lake, Spice Monkey Forster is a must-visit destination for lovers of Asian fusion cuisine. This charming eatery beautifully marries modern and traditional flavors, showcasing an impressive menu that features everything from tantalizing snack plates to exquisite sushi and sashimi.
Great experience here, I think some reviewers need to note that this is Asian fusion so it's not necessarily aiming to be 100% authentic. All the dishes were fresh, flavourful and delicious. I was particularly impressed with the service. Our eldest son has a peanut allergy and when we communicated this to our server, she checked multiple times with the kitchen to ensure what he wanted to order was safe for him to eat. I think the fact that we were there pretty early in the evening, and on a Sunday night made it easier but I got the impression they would have been just as great about it regardless. First lot of food came out super fast (baos and prawn crackers) and the was a bit of a wait for the next lot but the staff were attentive and checked in to see if we wanted drinks etc while we were waiting. Complimentary fortune cookies were a fun touch, the kids liked those. Highly recommend the Sassy Dragon cocktail, the Gangnam Style bao and the Barramundi main! I wish I'd taken some more photos.
Erin R — Google review
All the food that we ordered were totally tasteless as if they didn’t put any salt at all. We ordered fried rice (tasteless), pumpin curry super spice but has no salt, fried hor fun (no salt and tasless) I had to ask for lots of chilli oil to make the fried noodle has a taste. We wasted $150 for 4 dishes such a ripped off. Not to mention the waiter made a mistake with our order. And the restaurant has no air conditioning at all and it’s boiling hot. I will never come and wont recommend this place to anyone.

Our family had a fantastic dinner at Spice Monkey. We went there by chance at the end of our day trip. There are not so many kids-friendly places open this late. We came at 5:30pm and enjoyed a quick and professional service, with smiles, quickly served dishes and timely attention. The food was very nice - a little bit for everyone and the atmosphere inspired even our younger ones to try something new. The location is very nice as well, with a river walk and lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. But Spice Monkey is one of the best we have tried in Forster so far.
Vladimir I — Google review
A truly fantastic venue with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Every detail, from the service to the setting, was absolutely delightful. While it stands among the pricier dining options in Forster, the quality more than justifies the cost—you really do get what you pay for.
Richard H — Google review
Restaurant come and go like the seasons change it’s not often a restaurant in Forster can claim ten years. Spice monkey can do that because it stays true to its core values but evolves at the same time. Current menu has trusted favourites but chef Garth has injected some really nice dishes like steamed scallops w XO sauce and brown butter, the Filipino style sinuglaw salad basically a cerviche style snapper w coconut and lime finished with grilled pork Belly a great combination great nori rolls the fushion style food at spice really appeals to Everyone it’s always been good and still is long live spice monkey
Mike J — Google review
Not a bad choice for some better eating when in Forster. Some inconsistency in the quality but overall better than the norm. A good menu with lots to choose from, I have had some delicious, well prepared meals here but sometimes a bit hit and miss. They do cocktails in jugs! Great for large groups but book because it's always busy.
Monique M — Google review
I was really looking forward to visit this restaurant, it's been on my list for quite a while, and I am sad to say that it was a bit of a disappointment. The position is great, with magnificent views of Wallis Lake, but the food is quite ordinary. I tried a variety of dishes, and the best one was the seaweed salad. Delicious! The Takoyaki Dumplings were just ok, not housemade though, and the bonito flakes didn't have any taste, the predominant taste was the mayo. The Teriyaki Maki was nice but the chicken was a bit too dry. But the real disappointment was the Gangnam Style Prawn Bao that didn't stand to its definition of "tempura prawn with Korean spicy red sauce, wombok, shallot and pickled onion" that it is supposed to give you an explosion of flavour. Half of the ingredients mentioned weren't there, only the onion, and the prawns and sauce tasted a bit like they had been mixed with chilli jam sauce. No much flavour on the bun either. And to finish it off, the Malaysian Curry Laksa with hokkien noodles, squid, prawns and chicken was tasty but not the best we've ever tried. We asked if the hokkien noodles could be swapped and they told us we could have rice noodles instead. Well, it didn't happen. We couldn't find the chicken anywhere, and at there was some ingredient that looked like half a small potato but tasted like fish, that we still cannot figure out what it was. All in all, not the best quality food we've ever had, but at a quite expensive price. Maybe the chef had the day off!!

One of the best fish & chips shop in Australia! This Beach Street seafood in Forster is very popular with never ending stream of customers- their chips are huge, portion is good and the fish is excellent. Batter is crispy and fish is moist (not dry).

There are not enough stars for this place. As someone who lives in Penrith and holidays here regularly. This is my go to spot for amazing food. Such clean and fresh food, along with second to none customer service. I have been coming here for years and one of my favourite things about Forster. A little higher priced, but you most certainly get what you pay for without a doubt.

The lookout, located at the end of Bennetts Head Rd, offers panoramic sights including One Mile Beach to the south, the hinterland to the west, and Manning Point to the north.
Beautiful short walk with a few lookouts with great views - if you walk along the trail, you’ll reach the Rotary Walk leading to the sand dunes. The sands are soft and clean - a pleasure to walk.

A timeless view out across the Pacific Ocean awaits visitors here. Take the leafy and slightly overgrown path - Forster Council where are you - and emerge at the top of the most magnificent sand dune which cascades down to the beach. You will feel like you’re in a South Pacific Island Paradise but it’s only a five minute drive from Forster town centre. Another example of why we are called the lucky country.

Wonderful views of the headlands and the waves hitting the rocks. We walked on the lookout as we were considering having our marriage ceremony here in late October. The wind was quite strong tho. As it's a dead end and houses on one side there is limited parking and quite busy at times with tourists

A great lookout accessible via car. It is fairly high and offers great views of the coastline. We were also able to see whales from this lookout, although this will depend on luck and season. The sand dunes of One Mile Beach are nearby.

The restaurant provides the option to dine in, get takeaway, or enjoy cocktails at the bar. Customers have praised the lamb kafta and chicken shish for their fresh flavors that transport diners to the Middle East. Beautiful little eatery, small enough to feel intimate and large enough to feel like we had the place to ourselves. The food was delicious, bursting with flavours that continued to unpack with each bite. The staff were wonderful and attentive, and made excellent suggestions according to our preferences. Great environment, highly recommend. Photos don't do it justice.

We were very happy to arrive in Forster on a Monday night and find this restaurant open. The food was delicious! As a chef, I would highly recommend a visit if you're in town. We were warmly welcomed and kindly served by Rocky and Kevin. Thank you for a lovely experience 😊

1-Service is warm and attentive with professional guidance to how to pair selections from the menu. 2- The portions are reasonable Degustation dining left me with a bland opinion, no particular nuances of flavour, though nice textures. I have no comparison. I haven't eaten Turkish before. It was warm and nourishing but flavourless. 3- Very clean and presentable. 4- The pricing was reasonable but OUCH that public surcharge really soured the experience and overall pushed the experience into not worthy category 😕. 2 entrees plus bread, 1 share plate, 1 main, 2 coke $174. 5- As we had driven away my partner commented about the bill. I rang and spoke ( respectfully) with management who nicely explained the surcharge($30) So I appreciate the opportunity.

Chinese restaurant
Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant is a modern establishment known for its cleanliness and inviting ambiance. The restaurant offers house-made entrees, with standout dishes like prawn cutlets and salt chili squid. Visitors have praised the delicious food, reasonable prices, and friendly service from the owner. Some guests also appreciate the option to request no MSG in their meals. Overall, it's considered a great dining spot for authentic Chinese cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting.
Friendly service. Fast cooking despite being quite busy and many orders at the same time. Sizzling smells really nice from another table. Delicious black pepper beef, lemon boneless chicken and fried rice, generous prawn chips. The water jug can be bigger. Great atmosphere. Recommended!

Enjoyed our food at Happy Garden Chinese 😊 Now for starters all of their entrees are house made and that makes a huge difference to a restaurant. We had prawn cutlets and let me tell you they were without a doubt absolutely amazing! You could actually taste the prawns which is a first for me. They were devine its a definite must!!!!!! Had the salt chilli squid got extra chilli. It was good a tiny bit fishy and could of been crunchier. Still enjoyable though. The pork with beans was just so so it was pretty dry and beans overcooked. The Shandong chicken i.e crispy skin chicken was absolutely amazing soooo crispy so flavourful it was mind blowing yummmm Sooo I'd definitely go here again without a doubt. The service was top notch and friendly it was a pleasure to dine here!

I have eaten here on quite a number of occasions with family and friends and the food and service have always been consistent. However, if there was one thing I would criticise that would be their ham and chicken rolls. They are nothing like what they’re traditionally supposed to be, they’re supposed to be an actual roll filled with ham and chicken cut into slices, see picture provided. If the Happy Garden put this on the menu I would be happy to give them 5 stars.
Matt D — Google review
I love the food here, especially the Japanese pepper fillet steak and Shangdong chicken. The twice fried beans are a real hit and the service is amazing. For a town that offers very little as far as good food goes, this is our go to on a lazy Thursday night.
Monique M — Google review
The best food we’ve had on our road trip of 5 days, extremely delicious, and so worth the price. The owner was incredibly nice and friendly, she let our dog into the restaurant, spoiled him with food and water, and was so very welcoming and warm to us. We left the place incredibly happy and satisfied with the whole experience, and wished we had such venues in Sydney too. Next time we’re in Forster, we already know where we will be dining.
Victor N — Google review
The food was good. Although the staff were pleasant, they weren't very attentive. After we ordered and they delivered the meal they didn't come near us again. We had to ask for a container to take home the extra that wasn't eaten, we had to ask for the bill. The first time we had been out for chinese for a long time. Overall a very ordinary night.
Kay G — Google review
Went for a quick dinner before a movie. You can ask for no MSG which is great. Food was ok. Pretty average. The older lady needs to be more friendly and offer everyone chop sticks but the younger one is a gem with service. The price was average. All round it was an ok place. Recommend the curry puffs yummy.
Cherrie W — Google review
Without a doubt the best Chinese I've ever had. FRESH, full of flavour and tender. The beans were delicious, actually it all was. We had san chow bow, beef pekin something, sweet and sour pork and vegetarian fried rice. The service was swift and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Italian restaurant
Located in a beachfront spot at Main Beach, The Sicilian offers a timeless dining experience with its exquisite selection of fine southern Italian cuisine. Inspired by traditional Sicilian recipes influenced by Greek, French, Persian, and Spanish flavors, the restaurant serves gourmet breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Mediterranean vibe of the place adds to its charm with decor reminiscent of old-world Italy.
Travel back in time to the 1940s/50s for a rustic yet chic Italian inspired dining experience. With excellently curated artifacts and period relevant decor the atmosphere and ambience achieves all that it set out to do. The "Godfather" inspired dining room complete with a family table fenced off behind a velvet rope is a nod to their inspiration/heritage. The food selection was decent but not perfect, yet the food itself was scrumptious and filling. The service was also great which was the icing on the cake for us. Definitely recommend checking out this spot if you are in town.

This is a superb restaurant! We had olives and oysters for starters and the Sirlion steak with red wine jus and the Fungi Pizza for mains. It was all absolutely delicious. The oyster sauce had lemon/sweet/smoked tomato taste to it. I've never had oysters with such a sauce and it was really really good. The fungi pizza was the winner and Ive never had a pizza quite as delicious! The atmosphere made you feel like you were transported into another era. Service was excellent. I would highly recommend this beautiful place and experience!

We walked in as we found the fit out super interesting. Quite a beautiful fit out and loved the name We only had a glass of wine however the place was busy and the wine we had was good . Worth popping in for a look . Pricing to us was fair .

Celebrated my mums 70th birthday here., was hesitating as reading some of the reviews but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Every dish is nicely cooked and came out quickly, mushroom pizza and prawn pasta are definitely the highlight! The manager helped to serve dessert with candle, they brought it out singing birthday song, my mum was delightfully surprised, they also helped us took some wonderful family photos. sometimes it could be a bit tricky to get someone s attention as it’s busy but staffs are quite nice, it’s understandable to me.

Of High standards are the atmosphere, and the fabulous 👌 interior. You can make really awesome selfies there, food was really great, fish was fresh, drinks icy cold, very enjoyable. I'm only give 4 stars, courtesy of very average service, when we entered, we were ignored for awhile, then he wanted to place us near the lift, with restaurant being completely empty at that moment, finally after negotiations, we were be able to sit near the windows with the view. Over all great 👍 drinks and food saved the day.

GORGEOUS RESTAURANT: Our first stop on a week long NSW road trip - mid arvo walking around Forster township upon hearing beautiful music was lured upstairs to investigate and discover this amazing Sicilian restaurant. They had only been opened one week, it is and has to be the most traditional classy Italian decor outside of Italy. Read the menu and immediately booked for dinner. Loved the mussels in tomato sauce, loved the beef cheeks - the prices are up there especially if you like your ‘holy communion wine’! Service excellent and a dining experience will not disappoint.

Beach Bums Cafe is a laid-back spot offering breakfast, fish, and burgers at outdoor tables with stunning ocean views. It's a popular choice for starting the day in Forster with a saltwater swim, coffee, and a sunrise overlooking Main Beach. The cafe's seasonal menu includes options like the veggie brekky bowl with haloumi for breakfast and seafood basket with Asian-style salad for lunch.
We made it 30 minutes before they shut in the afternoon. Well received and served warm. Good food. Fish and and chips was just outstanding. Nice breeze and view of the beach is an excellent add on.

Great spot right on the beach – you honestly can’t beat the view. Super easy to get to with parking just nearby. Prices are fair for the location, and the vibe is warm and friendly. All in all, a place I’d definitely recommend if you’re after good coffee with a side of ocean breeze.

Super busy over Xmas-New Year holidays. Had a short 10min wait for a table to become free. Really friendly staff and our order came out fast. The quality was tops and the coffee good too! Great location overlooking main beach. The best cafe in Forster by far!

Sits right on Forster Beach so you sit with a sea view. Outdoor dining only but under shade. Approx 20 tables varying size. Popular with locals and tourists alike. Limited menu but good food and coffee. It's quick efficient service. App order at table or counter order. Depends on time of year and day but generally no wait or short but in holiday season can be 10 minutes. Get the views of the beautiful clean beach as are many on the coastline. Atmosphere is relaxed Aussie Cafe eating. Location has public free parking beside cafe. Family friendly. Disability friendly.

Bodies of Water
Tuncurry Rock Pool, located in the Rockpool Road area, is a popular family beach in the Great Lakes region of Barrington Coast. With its white sands and blue waters along Wallis Lake, it offers a picturesque setting and convenient access to amenities such as the Rockpool Cafe. While swimming is a major draw here, visitors should be cautious due to currents and tidal surges. The rock pool is considered safe for children and offers opportunities for fishing and snorkeling.
With the buoy line across the swimming area it is to swim for all swimmers, it is free and has a small beach for your umbrella. Enough parking. Great to spend the day in the sun. Arrive early. Shop on site serving burgers, ice cream and coffee
Johan H — Google review
We've been going to the area for 4 decades but only discovered this one recently, and its a great on a quiet day for the little ones! The whole pool is not massive so can get quote crowded and the occasional fishing gear washed up from the inlet. Overall worth a visit!
Daniel N — Google review
(4.5 stars) Although this one’s called a rockpool, the only rocks are in the breakwalls on either side, but it’s a beauty anyway. It’s really a netted off beach on the Tuncurry side of the channel where the Coolongolook River and Wallis Lake meets the sea. That location makes it a fun swim spot, with clean, clear water, teeming with fish of various sizes. A pod of dolphins came close by while we were there, chasing up a fishy breakfast, so it’s no wonder so many of those said fish chose to shelter on the other side of the net from their predators. The dolphins were a beautiful sight to behold on a bright, sunny Summer morning. There’s some powerful and interesting currents to be aware of. We were there on the incoming tide, so you could swim out to the net, then float back to shore on the strength of it. The opposite would be true on the outgoing tide, so you may welcome the safety net, to stop you heading out to sea! There’s great facilities: an accessible ramp into the water; outdoor showers; change rooms; a cafe, and plenty of free parking. We’d definitely return.

Great Lakes Cinema 3 is a charming movie theatre complex located in a vibrant town center. It features three auditoriums, offering a mix of mainstream and arthouse films for visitors to enjoy. The cinema provides a comfortable and almost old-timey atmosphere with clean seating and a well-maintained candy bar. Additionally, the surrounding town offers boutique shops, cafes, and a bustling market scene for visitors to explore.
Would give 10 stars if I could. Visiting the area for a short break we caught an afternoon session at GLC. From go to whoa it was THE VERY BEST cinema experience I can remember in a long time. Everything about this place says that they really care about their customers. Impeccably clean - foyers, toilets and auditoriums - and beautifully presented. We were even shown to our seats by an usher. And the film presentation was very solid, right down to closing and opening the screen curtains when the pre-show finished and the feature started. These folk know how to put on a great show. They could teach a lot to most of the cinemas I visit in larger towns and cities.

During a short stay in Forster we took ourselves to an afternoon session of Lilo and Stitch. What a wonderful experience we had. This was the best presented cinema I have seen in a very long time. Uniformed staff were helpful and attentive, the place was immaculate, every aspect of the decor and lighting was spot on and well coordinated: it shouted cinema. We were shown to our seats( you’re lucky if that happens at live theatre these days) and had an entertaining and comfortable couple of hours entertainment. We were very impressed.
Crosley C — Google review
Go to cinema and never an issue there. Cleanest cinema I have ever seen in a very long time seats are comfortable. Candy bar prices are so much better than in Sydney. I am forever going there and live 2.5 minute drive away. I go there and watch most things.

Was a great experience, however when i shat myself during 28 days later, the owner didn’t request to clean it up. i also noticed that there was diabetes in my popcorn… not cool. other than that staff were great and massaged my feet throughout the film. pleasurable experience. Cheers Hugh. J

Couldn't believe the rotten treatment we received. Yes the rain has been heavy, Main reason why we went to the cinema, in the first place and unfortunately, there was a leak I the roof. But why then would you not screen in another cinema, of which there are 3. Even more unbelievable, when it was only 1/4 full, why seat us in the right behind the drip. We wondered was it be because we received a Seniors discount?

Plenty of seating usually pretty quiet, prices are average, parking was OK but probably not so easy in holiday season. Usually approx 8 different movies a day

Just another great Australian beach. Missing. A fifth star for the crowds during summer peak and the weed that sometimes collects at the south corner. Forster Ocean Baths, also known as the "Bullring" by locals, is a popular swimming spot located next to Forster Main Beach. The large pool with an infinity edge provides a serene swimming experience suitable for families and lap swimmers. Situated near Bennetts Head, the baths offer sweeping views of the north and are equipped with amenities such as showers, toilets, and changing rooms. Families can enjoy the spacious undercover picnic tables and grassy area while taking in the beautiful surroundings.
Unfortunately we came here on a rainy overcast day but it was still beautiful and I can only imagine how nice it would be on a sunny day! Our toddler loved it too, the water was shallow on the beach end so he could play there. There are plenty of toilets nearby, a big undercover area and a shower right next to the street. We will definitely be back!

Called the "Bullring" by the locals the Forster Ocean Baths are a highlight on the coast. Sitting right next to the main beach at Forster, and tucked into the start of Bennetts Head as it runs to the south the ocean baths are a hit with families and lap swimmers alike. Like all ocean pools your experience will depend on the state of the ocean, as if the waves are up it will be rough in the baths. The outlook from the baths is amazing, with sweeping views to the north dominating. Well worth a visit.

Great place for families and kids. Quite large undercover picnic tables and a nice, grassy area. Like any of these places, it can get extremely hot in the middle of summer, as there's not much shade around. But overall, a beautiful spot. I was surprised that despite so many people around, it wasn't actually overcrowded like some of the major Sydney beaches and ocean baths. Parking spaces are a problem at various times in the summer holidays, but if you're willing to do a bit of walking, you will find somewhere to park.

I Dragon Chinese Cuisine is a hidden gem that truly stands out for its delightful offerings and warm atmosphere. Whether you're grabbing takeaway or dining in, the experience is consistently enjoyable. Diners rave about their homemade spring rolls, which are considered the best around, alongside delicious fried dim sims and beautifully cooked boneless deep-fried duck served with a perfectly balanced plum sauce.
Awesome Restaurant with the Quadrella of Australian Chinese dishes - Beef Black Bean Sauce, Honey Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork and Mongolian Lamb. We even had the Classic Fried Ice Cream which was delicious! The dishes were generous at seriously cheap prices. The staff accommodated our group of 20 adults and kids with no problems - we did book in advance. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

We just ordered takeaway which we collected hot from the kitchen and walked it 2 minutes across the road to our holiday apartment. The Homemade Spring Rolls are THE BEST we've ever eaten, I would come back to Forster and just order these again! The fried Dim Sims were just lovely too. The boneless Deep-fried Duck with Plum sauce did have one small bone but it was cooked beautifully and plum sauce was not overly sweet. Thank you for our lovely dinner!

Generous servings. Poached eggs are cooked perfectly. Having pineapple chutney on toast is a new experience but it is a little too sweet for my liking. The sweetness of jam liked chutney seems to overrules flavours of avocado. Tomato chutney might be nicer. Chai tea is ok, not the best. Try haloumi roll. Nice atmosphere being away from centre of town. Perfect place for eating outside looking over golf course to chill out on weekends. Music is a little over the top.

Coffees are delicious but the takeaway cup sizes are noticeably smaller than other places. This photo is a side by side comparison of the largest cup size at Plunge and a ‘normal’ large from another local cafe. Plunge coffees are more expensive despite being smaller. They’ll also add a sneaky surcharge to your order if you pay with any card.

We shared a very tasty pulled pork pie and great coffee. Worth the detour.

Very tasty runny poached eggs and hot buttery toast. Great coffee. Persuasive twist of the arm to get a sour cherry and macadamia muffin for morning tea later!

Turkish restaurant
Nestled at the intersection of Europe and the Middle East, Anatolia Turkish Cuisine brings a taste of traditional Turkish fare to Forster, Australia. This delightful eatery has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, offering an array of mouthwatering dishes such as pide, gozleme, shish kebab, and doner kebab. Each meal is crafted with authentic flavors that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Turkey.
Came in on Australia Day long weekend while we were up on Forster. Smelt great as we were walking past, walked in and thought this is like being transported to Istanbul. Beautiful fresh food. Tasted amazing and awesome atmosphere. Lovely staff. Prices are as expected for a tourist hot spot. Not the cheapest but the quality was definately there so no complaints.
Jose P — Google review
We tried the Mixed Platter Sharing at Anatolia Turkish Cuisine in Forster, and honestly it was disappointing. For $54, the portion size was not sufficient, and both the salad and rice were low quality and tasteless. Definitely not value for money — wouldn’t recommend.
Davis T — Google review
We tried something different by going here, to a Turkish restaurant and we absolutely loved it. My partner and I enjoyed a mixed share platter and then can came back the next day and had the BEST mixed snack pack with cheese and sauce. We found that the snack pack was big enough to share between two people for lunch. We would highly recommend. We sat outside and love that this place is dog friendly.
J H — Google review
The food was amazing! Since it was my birthday, I wanted to find a nice place to eat, but I'm not a local. I brought my dog with me, and there aren't many dog-friendly places in the area. We ended up sitting outside, and I had low expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The falafel starter was delicious, and the chicken and lamb shish were incredible! We even had people stopping by to ask which dishes we ordered. It was a wonderful meal! I highly recommend this place, and I will definitely return for another visit.

What a little gem! In Forster for the night and we wandered around looking for a place to have dinner. Anatolia's sparkly facade and music caught our eye, and the menu dragged us in. As a vegetarian, Middle Eastern food is normally a good pick, but there were so many delicious options! We got the baba ganoush and a fattoush to share, which were huge servings and delicious. My partner had the iskender plate and I had the fried eggplant/chickpea dish which was huge and delicious. Staff were lovely. I wish they would open up a restaurant in Wollongong! We don't have anything this yummy down there. (Sorry about the pic - I'd already attacked the rice before I remembered to take a photo. 😄)

Thirty Three Degrees

Restaurant
Thirty Three Degrees is a must-visit dining spot in Forster, offering a relaxed atmosphere and modern Australian cuisine favorites. Located on the picturesque Wallis Lake, it provides stunning views of the water and the opportunity to observe some of East 33's oyster leases. As part of Australia's largest vertically integrated producer, they serve the freshest Sydney Rock Oysters. Whether for a long lunch with oysters and champagne or an evening out on the water, this restaurant offers an unforgettable experience.
An excellent restaurant on Wallis Lake. The location is amazing and the quality of the food and service is excellent. They have an extensive menu if local seafood and beer and wine. The service we received was exceptional and the staff offered great advice on the menu choices. We had a mocktail and opted for the seafood platter for two. It featured a great range of hot and cold choices. The oysters and scallops were a standout. The location afforded us to sea dolphins and other wildlife. The restaurant was very busy but this did not detract from the service. Visit here if you are in Tuncurry.
Mark C — Google review
Best seafood platter we’ve ever had! Not a piece of fruit or chips in site just fresh Australian seafood. Loved how they give you a hot and cold plate, the cold one is also served on a really good thick layer of ice so remained cold. The value of this seafood platter is much better than any other seafood platter I’ve had and not even as expensive as others. We went here for my husband and father in laws birthdays - we were not disappointed. We cannot wait to return next year. The atmosphere, vibe and service was great. We really enjoyed all the staff we interacted with. Fantastic restaurant.
Lucy M — Google review
Good spot. Nice menu - food and drink. They even went to trouble to ensure a vegan meal for my wife. No issues for me though. Oyster combo plate was fantastic as was the chowder. But expensive but very much worth it. And a dog friendly zone, to boot!
John L — Google review
Such a beautiful spot! We came for the oysters, stopping for a late lunch on our way home from Yamba and they were amazing!! Staff were brilliant, we did attend at the end of their service for day and the team accommodated us perfectly. We added a few other items from the menu and were delicious although probably won’t get the fried snapper again as felt there was not a lot of flesh from fish to enjoy due to being deep fried.
Mandy M — Google review
Delicious food and a lovely feel to the inside of the restaurant. I had the swordfish special which melted in my mouth. The chowder was super delicious too. They also have a great shuttle bus service from Forster.
Richard J — Google review
This is a lovely restaurant near the water on Wallis Lake. We have been coming here for many years with different owners and most of the time we had a very nice meal. The seafood platter for two although quite expensive it’s very good. We preferred the cold section. Every thing was very fresh and delicious. If there was something to be improved on was the ceviche. We got only some fish diced very thinly and needed some other ingredients such as raw / pickled vegetables and herbs like in the traditional dish to make it taste better. On the hot section there were a couple of things we didn’t enjoy. The oysters kilpatrick had so much sauce on them that you could not taste the oyster itself. And the others with some Parmesan or other cheese weren’t very nice. I’d rather see some mussels with sauce than a soup with mussels and prawns. I don’t think that soup goes that well with this kind of platter. And the chips do not belong in a plate of this category or price. All in all a very enjoyable meal that could be easily improved, especially when paying top dollars.
Teresa R — Google review
We enjoyed a very memorable lunch here this week. Spectacular views of the river and mountains. Impressive menu and bev list. Food was fantastic. Sea food entrees and one of the best pork bellies on record. Service was warm and friendly. Despite the very high standards, not expensive. Highly recommended.

Cape Hawke Lookout, situated on the edge of the Great Lakes, offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the coastline. This spot is perfect for whale watching in winter and dolphin spotting. It's also a popular location for early morning birdwatching as migratory birds often rest here during their journey south. Accessible via a 440-meter steep path, it is known as the highest viewpoint in Forster and provides an ideal vantage point to observe humpback whales from land.
A great view and not too strenuous if you take your time!
Benjamin R — Google review
Mozzie alert ☹️ I should have read reviews before we trekked up to the lookout. We were attacked! So take repellent. The 360 degree view is a bit of a stretch as we could only see through the trees to Forster. Trees prevented any other views but we all felt it was worth it for that view 😁
Annette C — Google review
Fairly easy walk up to the lookout where you need to climb up a few sets of stairs. You can see views to Main beach, unfortunately, the trees have grown and impeded the views south and west towards the lake. There were also swarms of mozzies++!! (April)
Kate S — Google review
Lovely view. Very peaceful. To reach the lookout you will need to climb stairs for 15 to 20 mins depending on your fitness level. There are seats for rest along the way. I absolutely needed them. At the top is a lookout tower. It looks out over Forster on one side, and the ocean on the other.
Ernie S — Google review
Good lookout, the hike up is about 15min at a leisurely pace, mainly dirt stairs, there are benches to sit on along the way, mozzies are quite bad so bring your mozzie spray. The trees are getting tall but can still see enough.
Emma B — Google review
Really nice hike, the sign says 15-20 minutes but it only took us about 10 to walk and we weren’t that fast. Lots of mosquitos so go in prepared, we didn’t know! Beautiful views and so worth it
Leah S — Google review
Incredible views! Short walk up, all stairs but very worth it.
Zane A — Google review
As a bigger girl, I was very glad that there were benches along the way to the lookout to have a rest. Once getting there the view was nice but could have been better. I just think if some of the trees were trimmed a down a little the view from the lookout would be even better as I thought they were in the way.

Beach
Nestled along Burgess Road in Forster, Burgess Beach is a tranquil and secluded coastal gem. This sandy beach is embraced by a lush, vegetation-covered bluff and offers a serene environment for visitors to enjoy. Families can take pleasure in the natural shelter provided by the surrounding landscape and explore the numerous small rock caves dotting the area. While swimming is an option, caution should be exercised due to the presence of rocks.
Last day here at Forster, we checked out Burgess Beach. It looked nice on Google with interesting rocks for photo opportunities and definitely lived up to our expectations. You couldn't swim here. The surf was too huge, but I did find a spot to sit on a rock and it wasn't long before I sat in the sand and let the sea water wash over me. It was very nice indeed. Great for photography!

Beautiful serene and secluded beach. The rocky beach has a character of its own with the waves crashing and falling. Come to the beach if you are looking for some solitude and inspiration. The beach is accessible by a ramp and there is sufficient car park. You might find a few locals fishing or just enjoying a sunset at the beach.
Kanika M — Google review
Beautiful beach in Forster. There is a car park just before the entrance. It you walk to the right, you'll see a view point where you can take beautiful photos of the beach. There aren't bathrooms around.

We live near Burgess Beach so we went this beach after dinner. Not a big one but still pretty enough. The sand on this beach is interesting. When we are walking on this sand, it sounds like the sand is singing. And this is still a good place to watch sunrise!

Beautiful beach! We went there to watch the sunrise which is apparantly the best spot to see it. Pitty it was cloudy but still a lovely morning with interesting rock formations

Visitors can take an enchanting walk through the rainforest, around Bennetts Head, and down to One Mile Beach through the sand dunes. The beach is patrolled during holidays and weekends for safety.
Nice beach to relax and swim. Waves also good for surfing 🏄‍♀️ 🌊. We went there in evening on a week day. Not too crowded. We played volleyball there. Plenty of space in the beach. There are public toilets and washing places. Wheelchair accessible. Huts and benches are available if there's any requirement for having meals. Heating facilities are available. Highly recommended. Even though we went there on a rainy day. We were able to swim and we had a great time. #visitaustraliaash #beach #forster #onemilebeach #surfing #volleyball #sea

Enchanting walk. Easy access from the car. Walk is less than 1 km but packed with incredible photo opportunities as you meander a safe walking path constructed so all can enjoy. A walk you will never forget. Big thank you to all the volunteers who have laboured to make this possible.

One Mile Beach is a beautiful spot to visit. We were in the area on the day so thought we would have a look and we are so glad we did. The wonderful walkway through the tree canopy leading to the stunning beach is so much fun, listening to the birds and wildlife along the way. Would be able to get a wheel chair along most of the walking track, there are some stairs later in the second part of the track leading to the sandy beach entrance.

One Mile Beach has something for everyone. Including a nature boardwalk that goes from the middle car park to the big sand dune on the northern end of the beach. Sunrises are particularly awesome in this area and should most definitely be seen if visiting this area.

Nestled in the picturesque coastal town of Forster Tuncurry, The Coastal Brewing Company is a charming family-owned microbrewery that embodies the spirit of community and local craftsmanship. This award-winning brewery thrives on its commitment to producing fresh, independent beers made from all-natural ingredients. Visitors can explore a delightful array of brews at their taproom, featuring rotating selections like Sugarloaf Lemon Sour and Diamond Beach Pilsner, each inspired by the stunning Barrington Coast.
We spent an afternoon sampling the beer, wines and spirits of The Coastal Brewery. Schooners average around $8 which is awesome value. There are tables and seating and the atmosphere is excellent. There is a wide selection of beers and the staff are very helpful. There is parking out the front. I would highly recommended a visit and enjoyed the experience.

Awesome local brewery with a decent in house tap selection and guest beer(s). The blokes are knowledgeable, friendly and up for a chat. Food truck on site Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Open every day during school holidays. Well worth the visit with the whole family. Beers were very tasty with the option to take away too.

I did the brew experience today and I can't speak highly enough about it we got the full brew experience it was very hands-on. I gained so much knowledge about brewing that I can definitely up my home brew game. Best of all I got to try all the beers and didn't find a single one I didn't like. So if you are a home Brewer or just interested in finding out how craft breweries work behind the scenes keep an eye out for the next coastal brewing company brew day experience, you won't regret it

Slightly hidden from the road in the industrial area is this absolute gem. Immediately felt like home being greeted by the fantastic friendliness and smiles. Had the tasting paddles, 200mls for the dark beers/stout. The Shellys orange stout and the blackhead milk stout are phenomenal. Flavourful, frothy, and refreshing, just beautiful. The bbq food truck The Devils Que is on most weekends here, best chips ever. Unfortunately, I devoured the food before any pics were taken. Should have visited much earlier to try their other beers.
Michael M — Google review
James was an absolute legend and extremely knowledgeable. The most well rounded range of beers from any brewery so far I’ve been to a few! Combined with the best brisket burger you’ll ever have 👌 great experience.
Daniel S — Google review
One of the nicest breweries I've ever been to. Absolutely fantastic array of beers, with some of the best barrel aging beers on the Australian market today. Their NEIPAs are also crackers as well. Service was impeccable. Even though the brewery was fairly quiet, our server (I believe Helen? Sorry if I get this wrong) giving us plenty of time to taste the beers and enjoy by ourselves, and yet still came over to have a pleasant natter about the beers. Added a beer to untappd for us as well, which was honestly fantastic. Paddles were very cheap in terms of price, and the fact that they give you an option to have the full taplist in a bundle is something that more breweries should take advantage of. Thanks guys for the pleasant experience, keep up the good work!

Wonderful view! There is quite a bit of a dirt road to get up there, we followed sugar creek as the website recommended, instead of Google maps itinerary (freshwater trail) And it was perfectly fine with a non-4WD (quite big car though, and in July so pretty dry).
Auriane B — Google review
This location is truly tops ! Well worth the effort after a 17km drive accessed from turning off the Lakes Way onto Sugar Creek Rd . The trail is mostly an unpaved dirt road that can be traversed with a decent vehicle. I drove my 2 wheel drive D-Max in dry conditions and the most challenging part was the final incline literally a couple of hundred metres from the final destination. The panoramic views of the ocean , beaches and bush land are nothing short of breathtaking. The lookout has a table and seats for a picnic . Please use the bins or take your rubbish back home with you . Thoroughly recommended for an outing but be mindful to take plenty of bottled water and be prepared to lose phone reception at some parts of the drive & plan your trip accordingly with weather conditions.

Burger Urge in Forster is a local chain known for its gourmet burgers made with both meat and plant-based patties, all served with playful names. The restaurant takes pride in serving fresh, saucy burgers that combine unique recipes with local produce for mouthwatering results. Visitors have praised the amazing atmosphere and fast service, along with reasonable prices.
I don’t often write reviews, but this place absolutely deserves the spotlight. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere wraps around you like a warm hug — cozy, vibrant, and full of character. It's the kind of place that instantly lifts your mood, whether you're on a casual lunch break or out for a relaxed evening bite. Now let’s talk about the *food* — wow. I travel over half an hour just to get my hands on their burgers, and let me tell you, it’s worth every single mile. Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to absolute perfection, their burgers are in a league of their own. And don’t even get me started on the sweet potato chips — crispy, golden, slightly sweet, and totally addictive. I’ve had sweet potato chips elsewhere, but nothing compares to these. Every visit feels like a treat. The staff are always friendly, the vibe is consistently welcoming, and the quality of the food never misses. If you haven’t been yet, trust me: go. You’ll be hooked after the first bite.

My son and I went to Burger Urge in Forster for a lunch date. We asked for take away as it was a nice day. We ordered 2x Double Smash Burgers, Large Dirty fires and 2 soft drinks. There were 3 tables with guests inside. And 4 tables with rubbish not cleared so we sat at the bench just outside. After 15 minutes and watching other customers that came after us being served, we went back inside and sat at a table. The workers walked passed us multiple times over the next 20 minutes before being asked who we were. We were then told our food had been sat out for 20 minutes. Soggy fries. Cold burgers and warm soft drinks. Not a single care given. $51 wasted.

Visited on Saturday 10th Sept Ordered the Waikiki Classic Burger and the Big Poppa Burger plus Sweet Potato Fries as a side, tagged with a Ginger Beer The Waikiki had soft bread and tender chicken, with plenty of sauces and enjoyed eating it. Big Poppa Burger had also soft bread and very juicy and tasty contents. Sweet Potato Fries was good too. We both liked the food. Service was great. Only unfortunate is that the tables was sticky and not cleaned properly. Chairs were dirty and we felt itchy sitting on it for that short 20-30 minutes meal.

Isola Riva is a charming waterfront restaurant that offers a blend of modern Australian and Italian cuisine. The establishment boasts a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for a romantic evening or special celebration. With its passionate and attentive staff, Isola Riva provides an extensive wine selection with the option to order by the glass. The menu features delectable seafood dishes prepared with skill and expertise, adding to the overall dining experience.
After a recommendation from a local we headed to Isola for a treat night/date night. Great location on the water with indoor and outdoor seating. Relaxed staff add to the easy dining and steady stream of plates implied we may have got carried away with ordering. Excellent food with the beef and butterflied prawns as highlights.

Modern Australian/ Italian. Delicious seafood, prepared beautifully and staff passionate about what they do. Lovely wines from Australia and Italy, all available by the glass which was great and something not a lot of restaurants do. The setting is romantic, relaxing and stylish. If you're able to get a sitting on the deck on the edge of the water it makes the dining experience that much more special. Will definitely be going back again.

Dined at Isola for my partners 30th birthday and it was a beautiful experience. From the time we arrived the gentleman who sat us throughout the night was friendly and attentive. It was also interesting to hear about the history of the restaurant as a converted boat shed. The location is peaceful and has a gorgeous river outlook, we were sat outside and were able to sit inside later in the night for dessert and drinks when the temperature dropped. The food was delicious and we were able to organise dessert and drinks for the birthday celebration. Would dine here again and highly recommend. It was warm, friendly and inviting.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Forster dine at this restaurant. The food was delicious, the ambiance was lovely and the service was impeccable. The owner went above and beyond to ensure there were gluten free options and surprised us with cannolis (which I cannoli say we’re better then my nonnas) for my brothers bday. Can’t wait to come back.

Amazing restaurant in an amazing location. Right on the waterfront of beautiful Wallis Lake. Small menu with a variety of seafood options to chose from. Great selection of cocktails. Worth visiting just for the location alone. One of the most beautiful places I've ever dined at in Australia.

First visit, under new ownership Excellent in every respect, very meticulous in the little things. Staff were very attentive. The food was excellent, we had the cheese plater for entree and the chef's seafood platter for main. Both meet the standard set by the owners no desert, we were full. As locals we will certainly be going back, highly recomended for groups and couples a great atmosphere enjoyed by young and old.

Can't say I impressed by this place. While a tapas restaurant, dishes were rediculously small but at least some tasty. Excellent location by the river giving continuous water views and friendly staff. I'll find somewhere else next time we visit the area.

Went in for a quick lunch, literally one of the best lunches I've ever had, we ordered 7 of the lunch dishes and everything was amazing down to the truffle shoestring fries 😍 Blankets, heaters and even a fire place inside were all cranking to keep us warm today, first time visit, won't be the last 👌

Specialty Museums
Nestled in the charming Tuncurry area of New South Wales' Mid-North Coast, the Great Lakes Museum is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts. Established by the Wallamba District Historical Society in 1976 and opening its doors to visitors in 1987, this museum showcases an impressive array of artifacts that tell the story of Forster's rich past.
A trip back in time for many of the best reasons, were going to let us in for free because we are all digital (make sure you have cash for entry), and the actual museum is very cool V humbling to see a Nokia 3310 and ps1 controllers in there 😆 Definitely worth a visit when in town!
Daniel N — Google review
It’s always a good idea to visit the local museum to understand the origin of the place. This Great Lakes museum is well maintained and chronicled the people and developments of the town with nice memorabilia on display. Donation of $5 for entrance.

Love it! still so much to see and learn about each time I go. Staff are helpful and very insightful of the local district. Plus the Car boot sale ever month is always good.

Great museum! I liked the models of ships, and the rocking horse with the old dray. It is very well kept, old but not dusty. The garden is lovely. They have an old school room too. Well worth a visit!
Sarah H — Google review
It was a very informative and interesting museum, complete with the school. What I liked the most is that each room had a collection of items belonging to a particular time. I love history and if you do too, please visit.

Forster Dive Centre, situated in the Mid North Coast region, offers an array of thrilling water sports and activities. Diving enthusiasts will find this place particularly appealing due to its excellent diving and scuba-diving opportunities. Visitors have praised the friendly and accommodating staff, as well as the remarkable dive sites such as Hayden's and Latitude, where they encountered an abundance of marine life including Grey nurse sharks.
I had a lovely experience with Adam and Amelie from Forster Dive Centre and recommend anyone wanting to scuba dive in Forster to book here. Their customer service, friendliness, and professionalism make the entire experience 5 star. Of course, the dive sites are also awesome. We went to Hayden's and Latitude, and there were plenty of sharks and marine life to see. Their boat is also fun to be on and back roll entry into the water is comfortable and easy. They even retrieved electric scooters that had been dumped in the ocean, which is above and beyond. It is heartwarming to see how much they care about the ocean and the local area. Thank you both. I look forward to visiting again and booking another dive with you.

The team (Adam and Amelie) was extemerly helpful and prompt with helping us organise a weekend dive trip up to forster! They have a variety of dive sites to suit different levels of divers and are able to adjust the day plan and dive sites to best suite the weather. We saw a number of grey nurse sharks, wobbegongs, crayfish, groupers, turtles, nudibranchs and more! We look forward to our next trip with them.

One of the best diving experiences I had. Adam and Emily are super nice persons! They try to make everything possible and help you out with anything! Oh ... and did I tell u about the divesite? One of the best divesites in my life ( diving for 10 Years) Just off the beach you can easily and cheap join huge groups of Grey nurse sharks sitting in kelp and baitfish, so dense u can not look through! Even if the Viz is just 5 meters the dive will be awesome and even for photography it will be a pleasure! This place seems like a hidden gem which I cannot recommend more! I did 6 dives here and every dive was just amazing. Each dive we saw : minimum of 10 grey nurse sharks as close as 20 centimeters minimum 4 Port Jackson sharks loads of Woebegone sharks loads of rays and sometimes eagle rays + countless fish and other marine life! I wish I could have stayed longer!

Just wanted to say thank you for the great doubble dive we had. This is exactly how a perfect diveday should look like. Amélie and Adam are great and do everything in an exemplary manner. Never had such good rental equipment before. To see someone renting out Halcyon Wing BCDs, just awesome 🤩

Beach
Pebbly Beach, located along the Bicentennial Walk in Forster, is a unique and family-friendly destination known for its smooth pebbles and rocks. Despite its name, the beach offers small areas of sand and is popular for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. Families frequent this spot to enjoy the Tanks rock formation which creates a beautiful inlet for swimming and relaxation. The beach also features long stretches of ocean-polished rocks perfect for snorkeling.
Interesting beach with nice carboniferous braciopod fossils. There are a ton of pebbles and not much sand - otherwise, it might be known as "Sandy Beach" instead.

Located along the Bicentennial Walk in Forster, Pebbly Beach is a popular swimming and surfing beach in the centre of town. Pebbly Beach is a short stroll along Bicentennial Walk and sits below Second Head Lookout. It's a popular spot for families and is famous for the Tanks rock formation which create a gorgeous small inlet for swimming and relaxing. There is plenty of sand despite its name, and the beach offers long stretches of round ocean-polished rocks for great snorkelling. This is a very popular swimming location for visitors and locals alike. The adjacent park that straddles the Bicentennial Walk has a playground, picnic shelters, barbecues and public toilets. In the right conditions Pebbly is also a popular surfing beach. This beach is not patrolled.

Well I tried … after no response double boat dive postponed then cancelled . Then a single shore dive offered if I drove 45 mins to get there . Sure no worries. Found out they had the whale watching using the boat in the morning. Refund offered … got 20 bucks back out of a prepaid double boat dive . Do not recommend this outfit. Go elsewhere

Andy is a gem! He told us so much about the area, and taught us how to snorkel independently between Forster Main Beach and The Tanks, all for free! We bought some fins and rented a set up (snorkel/mask/wetsuit/fins) all for under 100$. 10/10 would reccommend Dive Forster for your snorkelling and diving experiences in the area.
Alex D — Google review
Have done the dolphin / whale watch a few times now and it's nothing short of spectacular ! While this time I wasn't able to get in with the dolphins the crew made up for it in great chats, facts and just an overall enjoyable boat ride. Can't wait to come again and get in the water with the dolphins again !!!
Samantha K — Google review
Booked myself and my friend ( who was visiting from over 4 hours away ) for a special occasion that we both saved up for - a whale watching cruise. But came away very disappointed. We spent about 3 hours just boating up and down the shoreline passed Wallis Lake, but the only tiny glimpses of whale was so far away you needed binoculars for and if you blinked, you missed the whole experience. Was told by the boat crew that they can't get too close to whales. Ahhh maybe you need to put that in your advertising- then we would go with a different cruise company where you can actually spot the animal you are there to see. The crew had a pair of binoculars, so they could see the whales properly. We had to squint very hard to see the spray of water from a blow hole that was miles and miles away. Plus- after receiving the feedback from Dive Forster re: my review- I've just gone back from all of my hundreds of minutes of footage that I tried to catch any sign of a whale- i actually have footage where you can here the female and male staff crew of the boat actually keep saying "Oh they are there" and we say where and the crew says - "oh a long way away- about 800-900 metres or more"!! Proof!!

Before even coming to Forster, I was told this Dive shop was the best in town. I checked both places out first before even making a booking. Hands down, the atmosphere alone won me over. Booked, got all confirmation, arrived and was met with a family like atmosphere, warm and welcoming with dad jokes put the wahoo. The drive out in the boat was as expected. The guides and captain knew the area well, stopping in a good spot where we saw soo much life straight away, diving latitude rocks twice was amazing, such a confusing spot but the dive through were amazing. One of the best group to dive.
Joel A — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed my diving with Dive Forster, Gabby was so friendly in the shop explaining what where we’ll be diving and where the boat was. On the boat Ron and Keith made us all feel very welcome. Good knowledge of the dive sites. Didn’t feel rushed at all during the dives.
James W — Google review
What an incredible morning of freediving!!! Super friendly and fun team, loved Ellie the dog on the boat, she clocks up some miles and she is always there to greet you back on the boat. Such rich and beautiful marine life. So many GNS of all sizes, literally a trillions of yellowtail, turtles, dolphins buzzed past whilst we were checking out the GNS and to top it off a massive fever of cow nose rays. EPIC EPIC EPIC

101 Thai House offers an authentic Thai dining experience with freshly prepared dishes that capture the true essence of Thai cuisine. The warm ambiance sets the stage for a delightful meal, and the attentive service adds to the overall experience. While some guests have noted occasional challenges with communication, others have praised the friendly and welcoming service. The menu offers a variety of well-priced dishes that are sure to satisfy any craving for delicious Thai food.
We got takeaway from here. It was so cute and very country town vibe. The food was yummy we got the fried rice, pad Thai and pad see ew plus two entrees and they all satisfied our Thai cravings. It was also very affordable. We would definitely recommend this place and will be back next time!

We had around 15 dishes and vegetables in all the dishes were over cooked. Overall experience was ok but next time I would tell them not to heat vegetables in the microwave.

Tourists. Ordered take-away. This restaurant deserves a zero star rating. FOOD is absolutely DISGUSTING!!!! Paid $56 for 3 dishes and had to throw it all away. (Too far/late to drive back from hotel to refund). We ordered in pizza instead. Both curries were a terrible mix of bland, tasteless, sickly sweet powdery pap with a few soggy vegetables amongst it. They used that CHEAP, FAKE/manufactured POWDERED COCONUT MIX which was watery, undissolved/undercooked. For the price, we expected real coconut milk/cream used. We ordered Beef Green Curry $17 but received chicken instead. She refused to reduce the price because of her 'mistake' and insisted we take the chicken. (We all know beef costs more than chicken). $20 Duck Curry. Had to search through the pap to find the pieces of duck. There were only 4 tiny 1cmx2cm slithers of tasteless duck offcuts.

Our time dining at Thai 101 was beyond fabulous, my family of 5 walked in no reservation and was welcomed by a very friendly server. The wait was minimal on our entrees (satay and 101 stars which were both delicious) and after we had finished our entrees, our server brought out our pad Thai, chicken red curry, bbq pork, massamum and rice which were all exquisite, the portion sizes were most definitely bang for our buck too. Me and my family cannot wait for the next time we visit Forster and get to eat there again.

We want to express our utmost gratitude to Gold Medal Chinese Forster for hosting a delightful family gathering on my husband's birthday. The cuisine was exceptionally fresh, flavorful, and portioned generously. The waitstaff displayed remarkable friendliness and attentiveness throughout the entire evening. We left feeling contentedly satiated by the delicious food. Rest assured, we will enthusiastically recommend this outstanding dining experience to our friends.
While stopping in Forster midway through our road trip, we decided to grab some food via Ubereats (for delivery to our motel) from the Gold Medal Chinese and we were so glad that we did! We ordered the Honey King Prawns, Combination Omelette, Crispy Noodles, Fried Rice and a Fortune Cookie. The order arrived quickly as it was delivered directly by the restaurant and the driver was really friendly (he even delivered to our door!). The food itself was hot and generous in size. Everything was delicious and just what we needed before a rest and taking off the next day to be on our way again!

Wow what an amazing choice to have for dinner ! Jennifer, Michelle and Emily were absolutely amazing tonight. Their customer service skills were 10/10. The food is also a 10/10. We ordered mixed entree, San choy Bao, special fried rice, prawn chips, honey prawn and mongolian combination. Each dish was extremely delicious and full of flavour. We are extremely impressed and will be back. I wish I had taken better photos but the food was so good and we dug in straight away ☺️☺️

Fantastic classic Australian Chinese and not over priced. Sang Choy Bow, Peking Beef (or “Rainbow Beef”), Sweet & Sour Pork, Mongolian Lamb and Garlic Veg were all delicious. Shame we only saw Mapo Tofu and deep fried ice cream on the blackboard after ordering. Kids also hoovered up their meal even after about 18 prawn crackers each.

It was a quiet , wet Sunday night , only one other table of customers. Many take away orders marching out the door. We could not fault our meal . Wharf St. Distillery Restaurant is a hidden gem nestled on Wharf Street, just a stone's throw from the Forster Tuncurry bridge. This charming venue offers an inviting rustic ambiance complemented by its impressive copper still, making it a perfect spot for both dining and distilling enthusiasts. Guests can indulge in guided tours and tastings of their premium small-batch spirits while enjoying delightful dishes that elevate the culinary experience.
Stopped in Forster for overnight stay and ended up here on a quiet Monday night. Did the gin tasting paddle and bought a bottle (no charge for the paddle if purchasing a bottle). Food was excellent - baked Kent pumpkin was fantastic and the lamb meatballs very tasty. Would definitely come here again if stopping in the area.

Had a wonderful time with the bar menu at Wharf St. Distillery today! The tasting paddle was excellent, complete with thoughtful notes, I’d definitely recommend adding the Navy to your selection when dining there. The food was a highlight too. The staff weren’t exaggerating when they called these the best chips on Wharf Street, absolutely delicious! The arancini was enjoyable (7.5/10), though the filling could use a little extra punch, as it felt a bit bland without the the accompaniments on the plate. I also found the pairing of basil oil with a garnish of watercress (or similar greens) a bit mismatched. Basil as the garnish would have tied it together perfectly. Overall, a great experience, welcoming staff, quality drinks, and tasty food. Looking forward to coming back and trying the dinner menu next!
Benjamin R — Google review
Reunion in Forster for my brother’s 60th. Unfortunately the food on the menu did not meet the quality expected of high prices. The octopus was tough and bland and removed from our bill. The rest was a mixed bag: the local oysters were underwhelming at $5 each, the scallops were devine, the prawns were yummy but the eye fillet was tough and the jus was watery and lacked depth of flavour. I loved the gin tasting paddle and bought a bottle … overall disappointing ☹️

Cocktails and food quality was amazing. It is a relaxed but upmarket atmosphere in a great location, so can easily dress up or down. The new go-to for a nice dinner or a couple of well made cocktails in Forster!

After always driving past, we finally decided to give it a crack. Alex our waitress went above and beyond for us, she has a great sense of humour and really sold the experience. I am not sure of the girls name who was behind the bar but she is an artist! Both of them were happy to create drinks based on our different tastes. The food was to die for, it was the BEST salt & pepper squid I have ever had, hence why we had 3 serves haha. The live music was great, not too loud and overstimulating, just really set the mood for the afternoon. Lots of yummy cocktails were consumed too. Ended up getting quite merry but can't wait to come back!

What an incredible experience at Wharf St. Distillery Restaurant in Foster! This place perfectly combines exceptional dining with their craft distillery offerings. Started with the saganaki - grilled Greek cheese served with honey, brandy and thyme - and it was absolutely divine! The cheese was perfectly golden and bubbling, and the combination of sweet honey with aromatic thyme and brandy created such a delicious flavor profile. For the main course, I had the wagyu rump steak topped with Mooloolaba king prawns and it was outstanding! The wagyu was incredibly tender and cooked exactly as requested, while the prawns were fresh, plump and sweet. The highlight though was definitely their gin tasting paddle featuring five of their house-distilled gins: citrus gin, pig face gin, oyster shell gin, navy gin, and barrel gin. Each one was unique and expertly crafted - the pig face gin was particularly intriguing with its coastal botanicals, and the oyster shell gin had such a distinctive minerality. You can really taste the craftsmanship and attention to detail in their distilling process. The service was exceptional throughout the evening - knowledgeable staff who were passionate about both the food and their distilled spirits. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between relaxed dining and sophisticated distillery experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique dining and tasting experience!
