Our day trip to Kylemore Abbey and Gardens has been one of the highlights of our UK tour. The weather was perfect and the drive from Galway to Kylemore on the N59 was a treat. Lough Inagh on the way was one of the prettiest and spectacular views we have seen anywhere. The Abbey and Lake setting is superb. The whole story behind the building of the Abbey until present is interesting, sad and inspiring. The Gardens are a highlight. It is a really well run visitor experience.

Absolutely stunning Abby as well as fantastic example of an extremely large fully walled English garden. We appreciate that there was a shuttle bus taking people from the ticket area all the way to the English gardens. Walking here was absolutely stunning. We had a fantastic lunch inside their cafeteria style food service area. The prices for the food were very reasonable and everything we had was excellent. The historical tour inside the Abbey was also noteworthy.

Small self guided tour through a very well put together downstairs museum. The upstairs display area is very disconnected and feels super random. The grounds are gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful setting right on the lake. Parking is very easy, there is a wonderful cafe at the bottom and another near the gardens. Highly recommend visiting this castle, and the drive out is STUNNING!

This is a gorgeous place and so much history. The walled gardens are pretty much done for the year, being October, but imagine they are spectacular in summer. It's still worth the visit, even late in the season.

We visited Kylemore Abbey on a rainy day — and although the skies were grey, the atmosphere was magical, and we ended up spending a full 2-3 hours exploring the estate. The moment you arrive you sense you’re in somewhere timeless: a grand castle-turned-abbey set amidst the wild Connemara landscape. What stood out for us: the Victorian Walled Garden (about 6 acres), originally created in the late 1800s by Mitchell Henry in loving tribute to his wife, and painstakingly restored from the 1990s onward.  You stroll through the formal flower beds, herb & vegetable plots, old glass-houses, and fruit trees — all within high brick and granite walls.  We also took the shuttle bus from the visitor centre to the gardens (this runs regularly) and found it very convenient.  The estate features peaceful woodland & lakeside walks, a café where you can pause for tea and scones, and a craft shop showcasing local treasures.  Inside the abbey itself, you learn about the castle’s origins, the story of the Henry family, the later arrival of the Benedictine nuns in 1920, and how the estate evolved through time.  Highlights include the charming neo-Gothic church (built in memory of Margaret Henry) and the family mausoleum — small but deeply atmospheric.  Even in the rain, the reflections of the castle in the lake, the misty hills behind it, and the rich gardens made the visit unforgettable. I’d heartily recommend bundling up and giving yourself enough time to wander gently, perhaps linger in the tea house and enjoy the quiet. A beautiful blend of nature, history and calm that stays with you long after you leave.

One of the most stunning places we visited on our 1000+ mile Irish road trip. The story of this place is part of what makes it special so I'd encourage enought time for that. But the grounds are enormous. They have walking paths, gardens, and so so much to explore. We spent 4 hours here. The gift shop is one of the better ones, it carries hand crafted items from the Nuns. The restaurant is cafeteria style, but honestly, some of the better food we had on our trip. The landscape on your way here is also breathtaking. We saw the Fjords on our way north. One of our must sees for sure.

Kylemoore Abbey & Victorian Walled Gardens were beautiful. Situated between majestic mountains you can see mini waterfalls that flow in to the nearby lake. The landscape is magical. The self guided tour takes you through the history and everyday life of the people that lived in the estate/abbey. You can walk around parts of the lake and take a quick bus to the beautiful walled gardens. The handmade chocolate from the Abbey is very tasty and a nice souvenir. Definitely worth a trip especially on the way to the Connemara National Park.

The Connemara trek was absolutely beautiful. At the base, there's a café where you can grab a snack, and toilets are available as well. The trail starts off flat and gradually becomes steeper as you approach the Upper Diamond, but overall it's not a difficult trek. The views are stunning, with the Atlantic Ocean in the distance and a refreshing cold breeze throughout. There are clear signboards and well-maintained steps along the way. Everything is well organized—perfect for a scenic and enjoyable hike. Everyone loves the hike...

The red loop that brings you to the top of the mountain had a lot(mainly 90%) of stone stair but easily doable for most people that hike a least 2-3 time a year. It is a beautiful hike of around 6.5km. Lot of wind of top of it, bring good equipment if you can't handle cold. It says to not do it on bad weather, but if you're an avid hiker, it won't be a problem, simply be careful not to lose for on the stone, it could get slippery. Clean site, beautiful place.

Beautiful national park! They have a visitor center offering information, parking, toilets, and areas for eating—all for free. The different hiking paths are well marked, with options for all levels, from easy to hard.

A great National Park with a good visitor centre with a large free car park on the outskirts of Letterfrack. Varied scenery from coast to mountains, a marked "mountain" trail up Diamond Hill from the visitor centre. Many historic sites, famine villages, holy wells, prehistoric forts, and such like, within the park. Visitor centre has cafe and toilets. Can be very busy in season.

Absolutely gorgeous! Don't miss the upper Diamond Hill Trail loop if you're able. We were all alone except for a few sheep. The views are incredible and just get better and better as you go.

Definitely do the Diamond hill walk in Letterfrack. I'd say medium grade walk but you can see most of it from the village so you can make up you own mind. Great local pubs immediately at the bottom to eat and drink.

Incredible views, breathtaking. Ireland really has some beautiful spot. I can’t wait to be back. The views here are better than Cliff of Moher(cough cough).

Aaleagh Waterfall is surrounded by beautiful nature, and the area is peaceful and green. However, the path to the waterfall is on the wrong side — the best view is actually from the opposite side, where there’s no official trail. Overall, it’s not a must-see, especially since the road leading there is quite busy and has sharp turns. It’s worth stopping by if you need a break from driving and want to stretch your legs.

The falls are an interesting spectacle and one that in winter months would be even more impressive; the salmon run that tracks along the side of the river is thoughtfully designed too, which is nice to see.

Located on the county border Aasleagh Falls is located approximately 1 km north of the border between counties Galway and Mayo, on the River Erriff, shortly before it flows into Killary Harbour. 2. Part of the Western Way This waterfall is the starting point for one section of the long-distance Western Way walk. The walk along the Erriff river valley, with views of lakes, mountains, and forests, is very picturesque. 3. Popular spot for salmon fishing and easy walking The water near the falls is part of a salmon run, so fishing here is especially popular in the summer months. Furthermore, the approach to the waterfall is quite easy—the path is short, but can become muddy after rain.

Beautiful surroundings and good hiking or trail walks. Plenty of bars & restaurants within easy driving distance. Absolutely God's country..!!! 👍

100% stop at this cute place. It is on the side of the road and easy to stop. The surroundings are amazing, on one side the waterfall and on the other a little lake with a hut in the side.

Visited on a lovely sunny day and that really enhanced the experience. You can't get that close to the falls unfortunately, but there's a good view from the bridge on the road and a nice walk alongside the river. Limited amount of parking, but as there were not many visitors, that wasn't a problem. Well worth a stop.

Absolutely stunning place! 🌊✨ The views of the endless ocean 🌌 and dramatic cliffs 🏞️ are breathtaking and truly worth the trip 💯. I recommend wearing sturdy shoes 👟 with good ankle support 🦵, as the terrain can be uneven ⛰️. Also, be prepared for any kind of weather ☔🌤️🌬️ – it can change very quickly here ⏳. Despite that, the atmosphere is magical ✨🌿, and standing on top of the fort 🏰 with the sea below 🌊 is an unforgettable experience ❤️.

Experience is breathtaking especially if you compare it to the cliffs of Moher. Site is not super accessible and it takes around 15 min to get there but totally worth it. There are no safety measures which will enhance your experience if you are careful.

The fort is an uphill trek that is worth every step. It starts a few meters from the beach and follows a rocky path to the top. Once there, crawl to the edge for a spectacular view of the surf below. Find a local guide to learn the history of the fort. It is challenging to imagine living on the edge of the Atlantic, but the early Irish have done so for centuries.

Nice spot for the views! It’s small and has very little historical information, but it’s still worth a visit. We didn’t need a ticket (it was free). You’ll need to leave your bike outside and walk about 800m uphill. Part of the path can be slippery, so it’s better to wear shoes with good grip.

This was a beautiful spot to visit while on Inishmore. We went in the evening and had the whole spot to ourselves. All of our kids made the hike up easily. Careful of the edges since there are no fences. However, the views are worth it and it is incredibly peaceful!

Dún Aonghasa is incredible. The views from the cliffs are breathtaking, and the walk up to the fort is worth every step. Such a historic and dramatic spot—definitely a highlight of the Aran Islands.

Absolutely impressive. Especially if you think that this stuff is 3000 years old. How did they get all the stones up there and why? And how is it still standing. I would love to have more explanation of all this so only 4 starts :D bring on some more info plates or signs or something this is so interesting and then you have to sit there and Google everything.

Amazing place for kids. My toddler had a wonderful day at the aquarium. Its not very far from the center. You can walk or take a bus to the location. It is located at such a beautiful place, just across the vast ocean 😍

Absolutely loved this experience ❤️ I could of spent all day here! The fish were very active, the staff were nice and welcoming. My little boy got frightened by the loud noise at the entrance and was crying and a staff member appeared with ear defenders and stickers and saved the day. We really enjoyed feeding times and the information. The tanks are immaculate ✨️ The octopus 🐙 was very entertaining i recommend spending sometime watching it show off I wish I had asked its name!!

Tickets are cheaper when purchased online beforehand. Staff was very helpful, and aquarium was super clean. Fish looked so happy, I wish there were some octopus or squid however.

Great for family kids were excited. Place could be upgraded but generally its interesting. Gift shop with very poor stock, possibly because of Sunday, but still not great. Big car park beside. Place to eat something beside i recommend supermacks about 300m away. There is in this building too but crowded and various quality

Huge ray/ shark/ flat fish tank! Highly recommend for parents of tiny humans! Our son was screaming and tired before we entered, he calmed right down watching the fishies, stayed in the stroller the whole time and was able to see so many aquatic animals from his level. Octopus tank was awesome, price was right, and the whole aquarium was a good size for little ones, not too overwhelming.

Cute little cafe with lots of options and great convenience. Grabbed a yogurt and granola, some pastries as well as sandwiches there for my hikes and they were just fine! Perfect for the price and vegetarian options available as well. The staff was very friendly. Would go again!

Ordered a cake for my nieces birthday and it was absolutely perfect! All of the ingredients were super fresh and it was a real crowd pleaser..highly recommend Gourmet Tart!

Everything was amazing. I was in Galway for two days and went there every morning and afternoon. I had their coffee, pastries, and prepared meals and they were all fantastic.

Highly recommended for sit-in meal or a take-away treat or coffee. The food in the restaurant is so tasty, they offer breakfast from 7:30 am, as well as delicious meals for lunch, including my favorite ramen and some very interesting specials like cuban sandwich. They are always busy in the weekends which is a great sign, but if you want to enjoy the food, come during the week. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly. The take-away counter is always stocked with cook-at-home meals, fresh pastries and bread and my favorite - almond chocolate croissants.

My favorite coffee shop. I come here every day. Almond croissant and raspberry tart are the best desserts for me 🩷

One of the early openers for coffee in Salthill, Galway. A very welcome 7.30 am latte was devoured with gusto. Tarts and pastries are to die for. Lots of space for big groups and children’s strollers. Bright and comfortable. Convenient to all accomodation in Salthill

Snagged a 6 PM reservation at Kai yesterday for tonight. Wow, wife & I so pleased we were able to experience a meal here! Terrific service, friendly atmosphere, casual feel throughout. But the care in preparation & presentation becomes immediately apparent once the dishes are served. Wife started with a lovely Sauv Blanc varietal while I enjoyed an August special 1800 Paloma cocktail. She ordered and enjoyed the crab appetizer with roe while I loved the subtle flavors in the mackerel served sushi style ( that would’ve been just a touch better if offered with chopsticks). Our main courses were simply ginormous portions. Her med rare strip steak (easily 10+ oz) with Bloody Mary Butter was so rich-indescribably good. My whole Black Sole served with bone in was seasoned and prepared perfectly, delicately flavorful and delicious. We simply could hardly enjoy the side green salad or the scrumptious potatos. I did finish it off with a lovely tawny port wine digestive. Needless to say, I highly recommend Kai! Come hungry.

Was recommended this restaurant but wanted to keep a flexible schedule so didn’t make a reservation. We stumbled in here from nearby crane bar and got super lucky to snag a table from a missed reservation. The waiters/ waitress were so friendly and happy to fit us in. The atmosphere was homey and rustic but still upscale. And the food was terrific. Highly recommend!!

This may be the best restaurant in all of Ireland. The service is friendly and laid-back, the menu is interesting and varied, and the drinks list does not disappoint. A few weeks ago I asked ChatGPT for a restaurant recommendation in Galway, and it immediately pointed me to Kai. Thank you to our new robot overlords for the suggestion, and thank you to the team for a truly wonderful lunch experience. We had the hake fish finger feature and some gorgeous little fritters, each served with a flirty little salad and fresh-baked bread. They also have a cheeky selection of local bottled zero-proof drinks including some cute lemonades and sodas (try the Irish apple juice—or as the Irish call it, “Apple juice”). 10/10 would go back.

Incredible meal!! We loved the way that this restaurant had a refreshed take on Irish ingredients and Galway dishes. Ordered the whole mackerel, cod filet, and raw oysters! Absolutely delish! This spot is not to be missed!!

Absolutely loved this place. Great food and service, with a very cozy dining atmosphere! Managed to get into this restaurant as a walk in but we have limited dining time. The crab and roe starter had a good combination of refreshing and a crab mix with a spice kick to it. The steak portion was generous and the pak choi that accompanies the steak was very delicious. There is a slight spice to the meat which brought the flavor together very well. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend for a special event. The price is on the higher side relatively to food in Galway, but worth checking it out nonetheless.

Disappointing. Given the many positive reviews, we had high expectations. We should have read through the reviews more carefully, as our experience was similar to that shared in about 1/5 of the reviews by others below. Atmosphere is really nice. Service is good, but nothing special given the price and reputation -- perfunctory comes to mind. The real disappointment was the food. The parma appetizer was great. The rest of the dishes, however, while cooked really well, were either remarkably bland, as if missing key ingredients, or plain off with mismatched ingredients. There are numerous better restaurants for this price across Ireland, including within a few blocks away in Galway.

The best meal we had our entire visit to Ireland. I would come back across the ocean just for the crab salad. All of our mains were exceptionally good. The beef cheek and polenta were tender and flavorful, the pork chop was cooked perfectly, and the pannisse was addictive.

The spiritual centre of Galway. Market has selection of stalls but would like to see food choices upgraded to make it compete better with vast selection nearby. Would love to see a permanent theatre like many urban parks.

Nice and lively square in the heart of Galway. Perfect for a break… but beware of the local “mafia”: pigeons and seagulls are always ready to steal your food. Great spot – just guard your sandwich!

Great place to rest or plan. The local Tourist Info advertises 4 daily walking tour (more than offered via apps!) and the mini tourist train. Bring your icecream and sit under shady trees (mind the gulls and pigeons!) kids can play on the set in the corner, see the Browne Doorway and view the flags for the clans of Galway

A beautiful space in the heart of the city, good to relax but surrounded by history and culture. Public toilets are in need of some attention but that aside, it's a lovely square.

Eyre Square is the perfect balance between the past and present of Galway. Even on cloudy days, it's full of colour and people. You'll find monuments with incredible stories behind, touristic attractions, thousands of shops both with traditional Irish crafts and clothes and modern ones with things that you will like. There is a shop for everyone, including Corrib Shopping Centre and Eyre Square Centre. There is also a Supermac's across the street, and as it's well known, Supermac's is the favourite fast food establishment for friends, family, and more in Ireland. You will also find ATMs around the Bank of Ireland building. There are also numerous bus stops there since most buses from Eirann pass by Eyre Square before going to and out of town. During summer, they have trading markets, and during winter, they have the Christmas market with plentiful attractions for children and more. In summary, Eyre Square is a great place for locals and tourists.

I want to say this is the heart of Galway if you like night life. Lots of bars, restaurant (close pretty early around 10pm), live bands. Shopping is available but most store close around 6pm. We spent two days here. Visiting it at night time and one day time. We saw the marathon.

One-hour stop with a tour bus -just enough time to fall in love with the charm, not enough to enjoy it properly. In 60 minutes: wonder through Eyre Square, admire the colorful Latin Quarter, catch live music on Quay Street, and spot a handful of quirky hidden sculptures). It’s walkable, vibrant, and packed with history, art, even in fast-forward. Be warned: an hour only scratches the surface. You’ll leave wanting more. Consider staying the night, this city deserves it

We flew to Dublin to join a bus tour of the island. Starting in Dublin and the all around the island and finally finishing back in Dublin. It was a great trip. One of the stops was in Galway. We spent the day and night here and had lots of fun especially in the Latin Quarter. So much to are in.

Fun atmosphere. Lots of night life, stores, food/cafes/pubs. If you stay in a hotel on the street it is loud until well after 1:00 am (even on a Sunday) and then early city services.

The Latin Quarter is without a doubt the heart of Galway 💚. If you want food, drinks, fun, and charming little shops, this is where you need to be. The cobblestone streets are always buzzing with music and street performers 🎶, and the colorful shopfronts make it a joy to just wander around. I loved the mix of traditional pubs and quirky cafés, and you can find everything from tapas and wine bars 🍷 to proper Irish pubs with live music that keeps going late into the night 🍻. There are also plenty of small boutiques and even gems like Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop 📚, which feels like a magical maze of books. One thing to note is that it can get very crowded in the evenings, especially on weekends, so go a bit earlier if you want to explore more peacefully. ✨ Tip: Start at the Spanish Arch and walk your way up through the streets, stopping for food, drinks, and a bit of shopping along the way. It’s an absolute must-see when in Galway!

This is a must see if you are ever in Galway, had my first proper Irish coffee here and it was marvellous, the place is full of life street entertainers and great even on a poor wether day. I would fully recommend a visit.

Massive in the middle of galway city !! You can go in by eyre Square and come out on the other side at the shopping street ll . Lots of different shops with penney's and dunnes but also an ice cream parlor , moo parlour , and their magnificent ice-cream !

Attractive mall that both incorporates modern architecture along with native, historic structures. Great mix of stores, also. Multiple, easy access points for pedestrians. Definitely worth swinging by if in the area.

I went in on Thursday evening and asked (George)the security guard for assistance. He was more than willing to assist me and called his manager and the two of them stayed with me until I got sorted. Even though George was supposed to be going off duty he stayed on until the matter was sorted satisfactorily. A big thank you to both.

50 cent to use absolutely disgusting toilets. Sanitary bins overflowing. Tissue everywhere. We went to use the toilet in the afternoon time and they clearly hadn’t been cleaned all day. Absolutely shocking. What are we even paying 50 cent for if you can’t even keep your toilets clean?

Galway biggest shopping centre, Penneys, JD sports and Dunnes stores. Lovely subway, Costa coffee and Starbucks. Friendly staff but you have to pay for parking and toilet facilities. The car park can be tight.

Toilet kept my Money but I couldnt Go through. Now I don’t know how I‘m not gonna pee my pants and 50 cents poorer. Thank You for nothing

We visited The Dough Bros in Galway twice on different occasions, and both times the experience was excellent. The food came out quickly, which is always a plus, and the pizzas themselves were consistently great. There’s a large variety to choose from, with some really creative options on the menu that make it stand out from your typical pizzeria. The crust is thin, cooked just right, and the ingredients are fresh and flavorful. What I really liked is that the pizzas are delicious but also quite light—you don’t walk away feeling overly stuffed, just perfectly satisfied. A definite Galway highlight.

I had dinner around Dough Bros on a Wednesday night. We got in line at 7:15 PM and had our food by 7:50 PM. You order first and then are seated by the staff. We tried the curry cheese pizza which was a white pizza with roasted potatoes, cheese, and curry aoili. We LOVED this pizza. The crust was nice and thin and the toppings were delicious and went well together. We also got the wild garlic dipping sauce for the crust, which we enjoyed.

In my opinion, the ”Peter Stinger” chorizo pizza I ate today was probably the best pizza I have ever eaten. From Italy, to NYC - I’ve had them all. This is by far the very best! Light, fluffy base, wood fire charred bubbles at the crust. Amazing consistency - every aspect of flavor balanced perfectly. Staff are A1! Interior and decor is clean and well designed with the owners personal taste. Not just the best pizza in Galway, the best ever… Strawberry and basil margarita cocktail is a perfect compliment. Cannot recommend enough!

The pizza here is absolutely delicious, and the service is impressively fast, making for a very enjoyable dining experience. The dough is thin, perfectly cooked, and has a great texture that complements the toppings beautifully. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. The only downside is that it’s a bit on the expensive side considering the portion size, but overall, it’s a tasty treat worth trying.

I was skeptical of the hype since I live in the NYC area and go to Italy regularly -- I know good pizza. But wow, this place is the real deal. The margherita tasted as good as any pizza I've had in Italy and the curry cheese pizza was unique and delicious. I'll be thinking about this pizza for a long time. The ingredients were great quality!

Had pizza @thedoughbros today. It was great or better than great. I'm from the area between New Haven, CT and NYC. The pizza here could rival any pizza I've had in the US. This is the best pizza in Ireland.

We eat a lot of wood fired pizza so we have a bit of a picky perspective, so, this didn't blow our socks off in terms of flavor or textures etc. I was actually really surprised how much I loved the bruschetta. That was good, the cheese overpowered the rest of it so I'd get that no added cheese next time. They do not have beers on tap, just can. The staff were all so kind and attentive. The smell of the cleaning products coming from the bathroom were a bit strong for me, but I'm very sensitive to chemical smells. The lights were a bit bright for a 9PM meal. The ambiance could be better with more relaxing lighting and some chill music. Prices were decent, happy we tried it!

Popped in for a quick lunch ... service was amazingly fast for a super busy period. Fresh seafood... we had the hake, mackerel, sausage , fresh oysters and chips.... no complaints.

It can be a bit hectic here since it's located right at the "entrance" to the Latin Quarter. But the line goes quickly and the service is great, helping you to order the right type of fish and amount of sides. It was also fairly easy to find a table, which you need to wait until you order to claim. We got cod, hake, and salmon as our fish, and chips, mashed peas, and coleslaw as sides. We shared everything so we could try a bit of it all and the fish was all fantastic! For having it ready so quickly, they do a great job preparing it here. The mashed peas were also tasty but the coleslaw was a bit too mayo-heavy for our tastes. All in all, a solid choice if you've had a pint or two or you're just looking for a hearty meal after a day of exploring Galway.

Friendly and casual environment for a simple meal of fish and chips. Prices are definitely lower than all the pubs along the street, but there is no compromise in quality. The cod is moist and flaky, without being too oily. Staff are friendly and simple ordering process. Food will be served and do consider a carlsberg or guinness? They are serves in cans. :)

This place is one of the most famous spots for fish and chips in Galway—you’ll see it on pretty much every “must-try” list. What’s cool is you can actually choose the type of fish (cod, salmon, etc.) and they also serve a variety of seafood dishes and oysters. I went with their classic cod fish and chips and it was delicious—fresh out of the fryer, piping hot, and super satisfying. The chips were nice and crispy too! Staff were quick and really friendly. Can’t wait to come back and try more of their seafood next time.

We visited McDonagh's on a Saturday right at opening. There was already a line but ordering was very quick. We were able to grab a table indoors & they bring you the food when it's ready. We had cod, salmon, mushy peas, and chips. The fish portions were really generous and very tasty. The battery was very crispy and thin! Although I liked both fishes, I preferred the salmon. The mushy peas were OK - I've had better. It tasted a little watery and needed more seasoning. The chips were fresh but also ok (I think I just don't like thick chips). Would definitely recommend coming here for the fish though.

We loved the smoked cod and chips here, and the Oysters were amazing - bursting with flavour and incredibly fresh and the cold Guinness with them was a perfect combination, this place is historic, nicely decorated and well worth a visit, 5 stars, well recommended.

It was a nice place to visit. It's a very big restaurant with seating outside, inside and on the first floor. We were day upstairs that had a bar as well. We started with a very delicious carafe of red wine. They gave us some yummy bread for the table with some delicious butter. My daughter ordered their prawns as her main and a side of vegetables. My husband ordered the steak and I ordered the seabass. Everything was done well but it wasn't excellent. We enjoyed our meal and the service was very good. We ended with a pistachio creme brulee which was very good!

Unfortunately, I got food poisoning from the oysters. I also had the lobster risotto, which was heavy. It tasted ok. I had the pistachio creme brûlée for dessert, which was also just ok. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on my experience. It was also extremely loud. Service was 10/10, great staff.

I still think about this meal. It was the first meal of our trip and we just happened to walk by and they had a table ready for us pretty quick! I still dream about these mussels. A fantastic seafood dinner to lead into a night heading to different pubs. A breath of fresh air and fine dining before a night of pints all over town. But for real, order the mussels. I'm going back to Galway JUST to eat here. Great wine list too and fantastic service staff.

The service was great, beer, wine- awesome. But chowder with some strange stuff inside, like the thickener(can be wrong), and the risotto its just like an oatmeal, not the original italian risotto. But tasty. So overall 3 from 5.

A wonderful find in Galway for a nicer dinner! I went with my parents while we are here on holidays and it was such a great find. The oysters, mussels and fish were incredible as was the fresh veggies. We were seated outside under some nice heaters so my parents were wonderfully toasty. and our server Marcus was so lovely and gave us a lot of great recommendations both for what to order here as well as were to grab an early breakfast and was super accommodating to my father who has hearing aids and struggles in loud spaces like restaurants. We loved it so much we mag even be back tomorrow!

The customer service was amazing. Didn't realize it was graduation night, so all restaurants were booked. The gentlement at the front squeezed us in. Amazing food. 10/10

We booked ahead at short notice and sat at the bar, which gave a nice view of the busy kitchen. The staff were friendly throughout with just the right amount of interaction as we ate. Portions were excellent, in fact the sides we ordered weren't really necessary, though we enjoyed them anyway. We had delicious melt-in-your-mouth beef rib with perfectly-cooked crispy and not too greasy battered onion rings to start and a great (supposedly small) portion of mussels in a lightly spiced tomato and nduja sauce. Both excellent and generously portioned for starters. Mains had to be fish in this famous seafood restaurant and the monkfish with curried lentils and sea bass with mussels did not disappoint. The only shame was I didn't have enough room for dessert! We also had a lovely bottle of tempranillo from their extensive wine menu. Highly recommended, can't wait to return and try their lunch offerings.

McCambridge's is a reasonable did store in the middle of Galway. This is not a specialty food purveyor but had many of the National brands as well as those from Britain. Looks like a solid but not spectacular cheese counter, prepared foods as well as some tinned and packaged foods. Good of you need a beverage, sandwich, tea, etc and are not looking for a local specialty.

Stopped in here for lunch at the upstairs restaurant and it was delicious. The servers were fast. The place was a bit packed but it was 130pm. My friend had a burger and said it was delicious, I had a salad and it was super yummy. The lettuce was a bit wilted, but other than that no complaints.

Nice assortment of hot sandwiches and coffee available along with cold foods and snacks. Nice stop for a snack.

Coffee and food are nice. Lovely selection of local food. Sat outside and in the time we where here no one cleared or checked the tables. Counter staff seemed more interested in talking about hair cuts. Toilets need attention, they have had little cleaning.

Good cafe. Nice bread and sauces, portion sizes for meat fillings are on the small side, sandwiches often not heated for long enough, over all quite good. Probably one of your better options for a sandwich.

Very good range of products in the shop. Big selection of chocolates and alcohol. But prices are not cheap. a lot of local products No queues, staff keep social distance and everyone using masks.

It was the last breakfast we had in Galway and I’m glad that I chose McCambridge! The streaky bacon was absolutely savory- I would say it’s the best bacon I had so far traveling in Ireland for 9 days. Also, the house tomato relish was gorgeous! Normally I have a partiality for toast, so I was a bit disappointed when I saw it’s soda bread. But I was wrong. It was perfectly moist and firm, for me it tasted a little bit like a cake. Apart from the Full Irish, the Veggie breakfast my bf ordered was also delicious. The only part I don’t like probably were the poached eggs and portobello mushroom. The mushroom was blend.

Lovely staff, great location, Very Poor food. Hunger drove me here. Had the Roast Pork which was dry and hard, it came with only potato (which i knew) but for 17.90 they could add more veg. My son had a Chicken Parmigiana which was smothered in basil pesto overpowering the tomato based sauce and my daughter had chicken goujons which she was happy with.

Esthetics of the var are really nice. Live music and football playing. Very quaint. Was easy to access from our hotel. Stayed open late on Sunday night. Has outdoor seating too.

Fantastic place for a meal and a pint of Guinness!! Music was excellent and service was fantastic!!!

Wouldn’t recommend. The whole bar had a strong smell of toilet, which was off-putting from the start. We ordered the roast of the day, advertised as beef, but were served bacon and cabbage instead. Only afterwards did we find out they had run out of beef - something the waitress never mentioned. There was no gesture of compensation for the mix-up either. The chicken pasta we ordered was also disappointing, with one big chunk of chicken breast just placed on top, very little sauce, and barely any flavour, leaving the pasta dry and bland. Staff were just okay, nothing memorable. For a pub that’s often praised, it was really disappointing. I won’t be returning - Seven is a far nicer place for both food and drinks.

The Skeff is part of the The Skeffington Arms Hotel. Food was very good. The Seafood Chowder and a couple of (non!) Stout beers from other parts of Ireland were a welcomed change of pace. IPA's, actually. One from Letterkenny, and the other from Kill, County Kildare. Other than the service being just a tad slow, it was (overall) very good. And the live music was magical this night. Okay...Not exactly magical, but covers from bands/artists that everyone knows, sung by a group of a youngish band of 3 called The Groev. They did a great job, actually.

I had the best experience in this pub! the food is exceptional, probably one of the best nachos i have ever had in my life!! the staff is super friendly and very welcoming. I would recommend people visiting Galway to have lunch dinner or just drinks here!

The Cliffs of Moher are absolutely breathtaking. The views over the Atlantic are stunning, and the sheer scale of the cliffs is awe-inspiring. Even on a windy day, it’s an unforgettable experience and a must-see if you’re in Ireland.

Very beautiful view but the walking path is extremely tight so you constantly have to watch out for people behind and Infront of you, and if that wasn't enough there is an electric fence which you almost need to touch because the tight path. Also there are a lot of flies which ruin the view because they keep flying in people's faces. The unisex toilet stinks very bad, so I would recommend going to the bathrooms at the souvenir shop

Very nice attraction here, but honestly, kinda a tourist trap. If someone could park outside the car park, you could was right in and not being questioned. Views are amazing and park well maintained. Highly recommended if you love cliffs sightseeing!

You cannot go to Ireland without seeing the Cliffs of Moher. They are beautiful and rugged. You can climb as much as you want or just a little and still see the Cliffs in all their splendor. There is also a really good museum built into the hill.

Sadly a foggy day for us when we were there. Otherwise im sure the views would have been excellent. There are lots of small flies along where people would take pictures and its kind of annoying. There is a visitor centre where you can tour some exhibitions and there is a cafe and restaurant there too. There is also a well stocked gift shop.

Such a beautiful place to visit. Well designed location when it comes to the Welcome Centre being built into the hillside. Paths are easy to navigate and they have golf cart for people with mobility issues. The views are stunning and well worth the trip to get there. Nice big gift shop with plenty of things to buy and they also have a sit down restaurant. Recommended.

It’s one of the most impressive places in Ireland, where the beauty of nature takes your breath away. The massive cliffs stretching along the Atlantic Ocean create an incredible sense of grandeur. The wind, the sound of the sea, and the breathtaking views to the horizon make it feel like a fairytale. It’s a place where you just want to stop, watch, and enjoy the moment. Definitely worth visiting for anyone who wants to experience Ireland’s stunning nature! 🌊🇮🇪

The scenery was stunningly beautiful and uniquely Irish. We took a 4 mile hike on the red trail but didn’t finish the complete trail. We turned back after 2 miles due to the rough, rocky terrain when it went up the mountain. The multiple trails were well-marked.

Great hiking experience. Lots of terrain that is unique to Clare County. I took a 3.5 hour hike that had me on a gravel road, then forest, then rock formations, through a cattle farm, past a house that offers tea to hikers, past a lake, and looped back to my vehicle. Absolutely beautiful

Stunning in it's own right. Truly unforgiving landscape. Worth a climb to the peak if wearing good shoes. Go slow and enjoy the view.

Honestly one of my favourite spots in all of the 'Emerald Isle', despite it being one of the least green! It's stark, barren, almost otherworldly, and breathtakingly spectacular. Don't miss it if you have a chance, and take time to linger here, explore the coast, the hills, the strange layers and textures, really experience it. Get out of your car and walk around!

Amazing place. Great trails for walks. I hope to get back here some day. My Irish favourite.

We did the blue trail hike. Pro tip is that you can park down the road about 0.6 miles if you want to shorten the hike a bit. The only thing you’re skipping is the walk down that road. In total that will shorten the hike 1.2 miles (Approx 2 KM). The views are unlike anything else in Ireland. You’ll walk along a lake, through a field filled with goats, and up the side of the rocky burren mountain/hill. The hike isn’t overly strenuous but there are 3-4 little areas where you’ll scramble up around a 10 foot steep incline/decline. I’d recommend proper hiking shoes as some of the rocks you’ll step on are rather pointed and could hurt your feet if you’re wearing joggers/skate shoes. If you have the time, it’s a nice little hike and not too far from cliffs of Moher if you need to get away from the rampant swarms of tourists there.

Interesting geological phenomenon with rocks in the shape of skeletons in rows separated by grassy fields. We took the white path throttle rock formations and reedy forests. Worth a visit but beware the narrow roads

We stopped on a Monday afternoon just to take a peek. Parking is across the street and down the road a little bit, but an easy walk overall. Parking is also free which is nice. The castle itself was not open when we were there, I'm not sure if it ever is anymore? But we could see theres a gift shop inside through the windows. We took some photographs and walked around it and went on our way. There were many others there as well. All in all expect to spend 30 minutes here.

Stopped off on the way down the coast and wasn't dissapointed. There was a free carpark a short walk from the castle with plenty of parking available. The walk to the castle was actually good as it provided a few photo opportunities and survey the surrounding scenery. While it was closed it was still a very interesting walk around and well worth the visit.

Pretty cool castle on the side of the road. Think high tide makes it look cooler. Inside is still closed but you can walk around outside and take pictures. No cost. Parking 50m past castle.

Only 4 stars because we couldn't get into the inside as it was locked, apparently it's a seasonal attraction. We were able to walk around the outside, completely around the castle and that was ok. The view of the castle is great,v from the road, from town and from the entrance walkway. There is a car park across the road. There are no public toilets outside as far as I can see and I walked all around it. The view of the bay is gorgeous.

Dunguaire Castle is one of the most iconic sights on Galway Bay. Built in the early 1500s by the Ó hEidhin (Hynes) clan, it later passed to the Martyn family — one of the “Tribes of Galway.” In the 20th century, it became a gathering place for Ireland’s Literary Revival, hosting the likes of Yeats, Lady Gregory, and George Bernard Shaw. The car park is a few minutes’ walk away on the opposite side of the road, so be ready for a short stroll. At the moment, the castle itself is closed (major repair works needed, so no tours or banquets), but it’s still worth stopping to walk around and take in the views. Great to see a Palestinian flag flying from the walls here — you’ll notice quite a few of them around Clare. It adds a contemporary layer to a place already steeped in history.

Dunguaire Castle is absolutely charming and steeped in history. Perched right by the water, the views are stunning, especially around sunset. The castle itself is small compared to others in Ireland, but it’s beautifully preserved and gives you a real sense of what life might have been like in a 16th-century tower house.

Beautiful little castle overlooking the Galway Bay inlet and nearby village. Was unfortunately closed on our visit but we were able to walk around the exterior. It was so picturesque that I proposed to my partner and she said 'YES'!!

Well, The Spanish Arch itself is just a quick site to see as you explore Galway. It is interesting. Make sure you read the signs so you know what you're looking at. As an American, anything that super old is amazing. I enjoyed envisioning the city as being fully walled in.

Don’t miss the city museum next to it! Great history of Ireland and its people! (Also some incredible authentic pizza just a short walk away)

Nice area with ancient buildings, shops, restaurants and old bars. Parking in the Spanish Arc car park is a bit tight but with a bit of driving skills it is doable and a 1 minute walk from all the beauty...

MOST ICONIC LANDMARK OF GALWAY: The Spanish arch is believed to have been built by the then Mayor of Galway Wylliam Martin way back in 1584, essentially to protect the quays and provide access to the riverside, where vessels from Spain carrying goods, especially wine, are believed to have been docked. The fast flowing current of river Corrib carrying huge quantity of water, emptying into Atlantic less than half km away should be seen to be believed. The arch is said to have been partially affected by the Lisbon earthquake of 1775. The arch is located on the Long Walk, right at the entrance of the Galway City museum. On a summer month, one could observe musicians and artists performing here. There are arrangements for visitors to relax at the riverside. Indeed we enjoyed spending an hour here, appreciating the river and the Atlantic Coast, together with the rich history of Galway town

Getting to the Spanish Arch is easy and walkable. Tourist attraction but not super busy. Lots o history available to read once you arrive. Looks like there were tours you could take that included this attraction also.

I have absolutely adored coming to these woods. They’re so beautiful and my camera really has picked up the richness of the colors here. It’s nice to go in the woods and see that it’s populated with others walking about and ladies with their prams as well. A gorgeous spot to walk.

Devastated that the woods were so heavily managed after the storms that blew through. Im not sure why so many trees were felled, some stumps seemed like they were unaffected. It used to be my favourite place to visit 10yrs ago so to walk in now and see the devastation is heartbreaking.

Nice and lovely forest just to the west of Galway city within the walking distace of Knocknacara. It is a perfect place for walking and enjoying the beautiful nature with paved foot paths and two big sports fields. There is a small free parking lot just in front of the main entrance if you're driving there.

Easy to drive to, with parking. In the area there are some banks of license and supermarkets. And if you look around the back up the hill it’s not a long walk over the top of the hill into town.

A place to shop and escape the Galway gales! Not overly exciting though and more like an indoor strip mall than a shopping centre.

From the moment I arrived, I noticed how easy it was to park. Free and spacious parking is a huge plus, especially compared to city centre options where you're either stuck in traffic or paying high rates. Even though I visited on a weekend, I found a spot right away and walked straight in without any hassle. Inside, the atmosphere was calm and welcoming. The layout is very practical, with a nice flow between shops and wide aisles that don’t feel cramped, even when it’s busy. I visited a good mix of stores—Tesco for groceries, Penneys for some quick clothing essentials, Boots for pharmacy items, and Easons for a book I’d been wanting to grab. What I liked most was the variety: it has everything from budget-friendly to well-known brands, all under one roof. There are also smaller local stores and service outlets, which give the centre a unique, community vibe. I saw a few nice gift shops and even popped into a phone accessories stall that had great deals. I appreciated that it wasn’t just big chains—there’s personality here.

Cute little spot near the Spanish Arch. Line on a Saturday morning was long, but moves quickly! Brunch was delicious. The orange pancakes were fluffy and perfect. the Lebanese Cardamom coffee was amazing- i’ve never had anything like it. My only regret is not trying Ard Bia’s dinner, as i’m sure it would be just as great as brunch :)

This place has to be one of the BEST brunch I’ve ever had! Located right by the river side of the Spanish Arch, lovely view. I ordered the trout and let me tell u, it was so fresh and the taste was next level!!! Soy and sesame cured with spinach and bok choi it was so refreshing! I also couldn’t help myself to order an Apple Cake for dessert even though I was full, the apple cake was light with perfect flavoured apple slices. See pictures urself!

To commemorate our first night in Galway, we decided to have dinner here. Definitely not your typical/traditional Irish food, but we absolutely enjoyed everything we ordered (most especially the grilled peach dish). The fish and pork chop were NOT overcooked and the sauces/broth served with it complemented the while dish. Our waitress was absolutely attentive to our needs. ***I do recommend making a reservation if you plan on dining here.

We had a super cozy meal at Ard Bia’s! We were seated upstairs and I really enjoyed all the natural light in the space. The bar was also set up quite nicely — everything felt very peaceful. Our food was yummy and perfectly filling and our server was friendly. We’ll be back next time we’re in Galway!

If you're in Galway, you must go here for Brunch!! Amazing pancakes, tacos, and french toast. It was so flavorful and every detail was taken into consideration, including presentation of the food. Servers were very kind and attentive. We had to wait outside for 15 minutes for obvious reasons, everyone wants to eat here!

Ard Bia is beyond charming, and everything we had was freaking delicious! We were there for brunch-- and we promptly returned the following day for more. You can't go wrong with any of the choices, and the chai was so flavorful and not overly sweet. One member of our party has very specific food restrictions, and the team at Ard Bia were knowledgeable and so clear with ensuring she also had an amazing experience. They even helped us find other restaurants for meals later in the day!

Loved the decor and the concept of the « doors » in the walls containing items local to the area. Wonderful ethos. Except for one dish (which was merely very good!) the food was excellent. The service though was distinctly patchy. We were greeted at the door by someone who seemed not to speak any English, and who kept asking if we were going to do the wine pairing as she was seating us, before we’d even seen the menu. The first few dishes came out far too quickly, some being placed on the table before earlier dishes has been cleared. Two dishes were not even explained, just plonked down. We had to ask someone else what they were. As the meal progressed, dishes started coming out too slowly with long gaps. At this price point the service should be better, and it did feel expensive. The food was truly excellent but this time, the service did not match it.

International staff serve up local produce in this innovative and classy restaurant. The wine pairings are of particular note. This is the closest I've come to food and wine being perfectly matched. Whoever is responsible for it, your palate and ability to pair strikingly similar flavour notes is quite remarkable. The fitout is modern. The attitude, comforting. Aniar is well worth a visit to experience for yourself.

This restaurant is well worth a visit. We made a special trip to sample the wares and we were not disappointed. We had 24 courses over the evening and the wine pairing. It was definitely a unique experience and gave a broad insight into flavours from the west of Ireland.

20 course meal of art, poems, passion and excellence; as a client, you are engaged in an affairs involving the locally sourced food, poems (yes really, a poem that comes with the food!), detailed explanation of each meal, a letter at the end of your meal, a personal thank you by the people that cooked your food. The flavors are bold, innovative, artful.... the people that paint this menu are still very in love with their art. Whether you are in a group or traveling solo, we are all participants of something truly special. I hope they get awarded another 🌟

We had a fabulous experience last night. All of the staff welcomed us so well. Super friendly and top class service. Now for the food... Unreal. Every dish we savoured and hardly spoke until every last bite was consumed before moving on to the next delight. The wine pairing was stunning. The decor the cutlery all so unique yet homely. Everything was wonderful. We really can't wait for the next celebration to return to aniar.

This was one of my two favorite dining experiences ever. They paired two of the courses with poems. I was particularly excited about this as an English teacher but I think that anyone can appreciate how the poems enhanced understanding about how the food presented has gone on a journey to get to the plate, a journey that was full of human interaction and care. The resteraunt nurtured the idea that food doesn‘t appear without love and toil. This idea will help me consider the path my food takes as I eat going forward.

The 4 of us had a wonderful night at Aniar. We started off being asked to return 20 minutes later, which surprised us, but in the end it made sense: The 24 course meal took 4 hours for us to enjoy. We started at 21:00 and ended at 01:00. All 4 hours were a joy, and we took the Irish drink pairing which was filled with unique flavours. Some of the courses were extremely good hits and absolutely utterly delicious with fantastic flavors. Some of them we did not enjoy at all, such as the oyster icecream, and didn't finish. It was hit and miss, with the hits being incredible. Both gluten free and seafood-less options were made possible, and the table agreed that the seafood-less courses were always the tastier of the options, so I would recommend going for that if possible. The service was good and friendly, and accommodated us as well two separate times when we asked for something specific. Thank you so very much. Highly recommend to try, and bring friends to check out and discuss the flavors as you go along. It is a joy of a time.

Decent food. Yet the service was a horrible and a disaster. From the start, the waitress who took our order had an arrogant attitude like she knew it all. She bragged about working there for over 20 years, then completely botched a basic order. We asked for two mixed doner plates (chicken + lamb) and two chicken doner plates. Instead, we were handed plain chicken and told it was mixed. Being from America, we trusted her — we don’t know this cuisine well. I ate what I was given, assuming it was correct. Later, we realized we never even got the chicken plates. When we brought it up, instead of correcting the issue, the original waitress got defensive and rude, blaming us for eating what we got. Gosia, the server who brought the food out, actually admitted the mix-up and respectfully tried to fix it. Props to her. But the first waitress kept escalating and refused to take responsibility. We went downstairs to ask for a manager and got met with two jokers in chef uniforms — one in red, one in black — claiming to be in charge. Instead of helping, they started blaming us too. One even tried to give us a lecture about how doner works. Man, no one asked. You’re a chef, not a customer service rep. Focus on the grill and let someone else handle the restaurant issues. The worst part? They all kept blaming the mistake on the place being “busy.” It wasn’t. There were empty tables. And even if it was, that’s not an excuse. If you’re a professional, your job is to stay sharp under pressure — not to deflect your own mistakes onto customers. And after all that, the waitress who offered us drinks “on the house” tried charging us at the end. Unreal. I have photos of the food and the staff. The food itself was solid, but the service made it a stressful, frustrating experience. 2 stars only because the kitchen did their part — the staff absolutely didn’t.

Right time, right place. And Chaka Aga was the man for the job! I had the lamb kebab and my son had the mixed kebab. We were hungry after a day of hiking the Cliffs of Moher and The Charcoal Grill did not disappoint. Thanks Shaka!

Best kebab I have ever tried. I had an unreal chicken doner kebab whilst enjoying the great atmosphere of this restaurant. Everyone living or visiting in Galway must try it!! I highly recommend it for its delicious and quality food. Thank you to our amazing server Melissa and owner Anthony.

Very good food and atmosphere. Eat-in or take-away.

Ordered off JustEat, absolutely never again. It was 3 chicken wraps. I ordered at 5:55pm (payment proof shown) and it didn’t arrive until 7:52pm (proof also shown). Originally the delivery time showed to be 6:25pm. I was in the library until 6:40pm and I had to leave to go to a meeting in the hospital. The delivery time kept pushing back, and back, and back. We attempted to cancel the order on JustEat, didn’t work. Called up the restaurant in the hopes of switching the delivery location as the app wouldn’t let us do that, and when the phone was finally picked up (after multiple attempts on multiple peoples phones ignored), the man on the phone, I’ve never met anyone more useless and who clearly didn’t care about his customers at all. I politely asked him to change the delivery location, which he refused, saying he wouldn’t speak to the delivery person. Said I should phone them, I asked for a number to phone them, he once again did not help. He then suggested I cancel the order, and said that if I did that I wouldn’t get any money back, because the food was already made (this was at 6:40pm - phone call proof available but can’t attach due to Google privacy policies), and as I said earlier, the food didn’t arrive for another 1 hour 12 minutes after that, despite it “being ready”. And when it finally did arrive, dry, tasteless, extremely lacking in sauce, one side of the kebab was half raw onion which was not pleasant. My parents also called up the restaurant to try sort it as I couldn’t be on my phone during my meeting in the hospital, and the man was also extremely rude, dismissive and unhelpful to them. Never, ever again, would warn anyone away. And please, please don’t think I’m the sort of person to complain about everything, look at my other reviews, I am a fair, if not overly complementary, reviewer. Just this, was ridiculous.

The best place where you can buy food in Galway! The prices are very reasonable, and the food is incredibly tasty and fresh. The menu has a huge selection, the restaurant is very clean with a pleasant atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly! The owner is truly the kindest person I know. I buy food here almost every day and I'm so glad I found out about this place. If you're ever in Galway, you have to stop in!

Charcoal Grill Eyre Sq is the best around. The Turkish dishes are well-prepared, fresh and full of flavour, especially the grilled meats. Service is quick and the staff great. If you’re looking for reliable, family run, tasty Turkish food in Galway, this is the place.

Booked a family stay for my sons birthday here recently with our dog. The reception staff were great. This is a real "dog friendly" hotel. A doggie welcome pack was in our room, a nice touch. Had dinner in the bar. Ordered a very rare steak, it arrived medium to well done. Asked for vinegar for chips 4 times before it arrived. At this stage my family were nearly finished dinner. I asked for mustard twice but nobody ever came back. The staff seemed to be running around aimlessly with no particular staff assigned to particular tables. Not a great experience. We booked dinner in a local restaurant for our second night.The room was just OK and the bathroom could have been cleaner. In general the hotel has a "tired" feeling for 4 star. We shall try somewhere else next time.

This Hotel is absolutely amazing, from the rooms to the staff, to the wonderful food. We booked a pet family family room. It was huge, spotless, quiet and warm. The staff are so lovely, an extra mention for Jules who was so so helpful, kind and considerate. She is very thoughtful and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. We booked the Halloween package, my son received a little Halloween bucket filled with treats and our dog received his own treats. My mother was with us and she is gluten free, this was not a problem and the hotel made beautiful and tasty gluten free food. All the food is fabulous, the breakfast has plenty of choice and the hot food is cooked to order. A treat of an Ice-cream was included in our package and the lovely Alister also gave my mum and I an Ice-cream. These little things make a big difference. Another lovely staff member on reception when checking in, got an a device for us and he came and attached it to our tv so my son could watch netlix. The hotel is a 5 minute walk down to a small beach and water, it is very central in the town of Barna. Parking is included and the rooms are extremely quiet. I couldn't fault anything about this Hotel. We had a wonderful stay.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff are flawless and so helpful. I am a tour manager and had an issue with a bag from a previous hotel and posted to this hotel to store it. Anything I needed or the group needed it was never a problem! They went above and beyond to make sure people's needs were met! It is dog friendly , and even has a dog menu! Truly a wonderful place! The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean! The bar and breakfast service was top notch ! Thank you for making the guests trip memorable!

My wife and I got married here on Halloween. Our every request was listened to and meticulously followed. The facilities are intimate, the food was out-of-this-world (no pun intended) and the rooms/facilities are perfectly beautiful. Fergal was also an exceptional host and all the staff deserve the highest compliments. Thank you all for making our spooky special day, that much more Halloween-tastic!🎃💜🖤👻

Not many times in my long travel career have I come across a hotel that is synergistic in every single way. Led by Patrick, the front desk by Laura , Andrea and Isabela this hotel goes above and beyond any I’ve been in for a long long time.. It truly goes back to a time when you felt a hotel cared. My example on this is my wife was on the highway in a rental and the entire rental stopped working, she had signs on her dashboard that the brakes will stop you will not be able to steer. You have an emissions problem. Laura stepped in like a pro and save the day. She got a tow truck outside of Alamo and headed towed to his yard. She did not have to do this, but she did because she cared about a guest.. Patrick, Tom, Owen and Andrea were there the whole time super supervising and Giving her validation and support. That’s just one example of what this hotel is all about the food and bar are fantastic. The conversation in those places is fantastic. The rooms are beautiful and well kept up. I will never forget what they did and it should be noted at the hotel is in the sweetest little Irish village ever please visit

This hotel was an absolute dream! The sizes of the rooms were amazing, and the bed - I could have stayed there all day! The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer when we arrived late in the evening and were hungry - they headed straight to the restaurant to make sure they left the kitchen open so we could get some food! That impressed me right there! But then the food in the restaurant itself was also delicious for dinner and then breakfast the following morning! Great hotel and definitely recommend if wanting to visit Galway!

The hotel itself is good, with friendly helpful staff at reception. However I'd recommend avoiding The Pins bar attached to the hotel. We had a very poor experience with service there which frankly put a sour note on the whole stay. Having arrived back at the hotel around 10/10:30pm after a long day driving around the area, we went into the bar for one of there well advertised cocktails, but was told quite rudely that "cocktails are done", even though everyone else in the bar had full cocktails in front of them. Bit ridiculous for a "cocktail bar" to stop serving cocktails by 10:30pm on a bank holiday Saturday. The whole experience made us feel like 2nd class people and very unwelcome. For such a pricy hotel, I'd have expected much better service. Won't be staying here again.
