The Galmont Hotel & Spa is a modern waterfront property located on the picturesque shores of Lough Atalia in Galway. With 275 guest rooms, including family and accessible rooms, it's an ideal destination for a family holiday. The hotel features stylish interiors designed by Philip Treacy and offers luxurious amenities such as the Linda Evangelista Suite with its private terrace. The onsite Spirit One Spa provides a variety of treatments for ultimate relaxation.
The Galmont found us the loveliest last-minute room at 5pm on a Friday after a disastrous experience at the Hyde with a broken shower. Not only does the Galmont have nice spacious showers that work, the view was beautiful, the bed was cozy, and the staff treated us like royalty. We had delicious cocktails and dessert at the bar too, the breakfast buffet was convenient and well stocked. Would absolutely stay here again!

Had the most wonderful and relaxing time here. Highly recommend. Easy walk to the Dublin bus as well as some wonderful weekend markets. Will definitely be coming back! We also managed to catch a free Pilates class and enjoy the outdoor hot tub. Don’t miss the breakfast. Loved the local cheeses

Best things about the hotel were the staff, the location and the cleanliness. The two things we wish were better were the tv options - after a long day of exploring and walking it would have been lovely to relax and watch something but the offerings were extremely limited. Our trip was a mother daughter getaway and my daughter was excited about a relaxing bath as a little indulgence but there was no hot water for a bath or showers. Lukewarm to warm at best and during showers the water cut to cold a few times. I actually boiled the kettle in the room a bunch of times trying to warm up the bath water but it was a losing battle. The front desk staff were wonderful and the two people working at the front desk at the leisure center were also very kind and welcoming. We would go probably back but we would adjust our expectations.

Really good service. Several times during our stay we had service that was above and beyond. The hotel restaurant has good food and very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the location was great for walking around Galway and driving around the wild atlantic way
Timothy B — Google review
Doesn’t really get the little things right. While my bed was a super king, it was rock hard and I had two of the worst pillows I’ve ever used, making for a horrible night sleep. The margarita I ordered at the bar was so bad I actually had to send it back. The indoor jacuzzi was freezing so we had to use the outdoor one, and the button is on a wall outside of the jacuzzi and doesn’t always work because of the timer. Overall the staff seemed nice and they put a lot of effort into the Christmas decorations, but the essentials were not good. Especially for a hotel of this price.
Alec T — Google review
We had a lovely river view from our comfortable room. Location was perfect for us as we love to be able to walk to interesting neighbourhoods, parks, seawalls, entertainment and dining. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room was bright and roomy. Staff were excellent. Stylish decor throughout. Good selection of beer on tap. Convenient parking.

If Galway during Race Week is electric, then The Galmont is the generator powering the buzz. From the moment we pulled up, it was clear—this place knows how to host during the Galway Races. The staff were calm, collected, and somehow still smiling despite the crowd and the chaos. Hats off (literally—fancy ones everywhere) to the front desk team for the smoothest check-in I’ve ever had during a fully-booked hotel stay. Our room was spotless, spacious, and surprisingly quiet given the festivities. Big bonus points for the blackout curtains and comfy bed after a long day at Ballybrit followed by an even longer night in Eyre Square. The real winners though? • Breakfast: Top-tier. The kind of buffet that makes you rethink your plans for the races. • Bar area: Packed, stylish, and humming with post-race chatter. Great Guinness pour and even better people-watching. • Spa: Didn’t get to try it, but judging by the robes on parade, it’s clearly a fan favorite. Location-wise, you can’t beat it—easy walk to town, quick hop in a taxi to the racecourse, and just far enough from the madness to let you recover in peace. Pro tip: Book early for next year, and bring your best shoes—you’ll be walking, dancing, or both.

We booked a room with a king size bed with breakfast included, along with two spa treatments. The room itself is very small and cramped. It is appointed appropriately for a four star, but cramped. The bathroom however, is definitely not up to a four star level. Even 3 stars may be generous. It was an extremely long walk using 2 different elevators. I suspect we are in an old wing of the property. But the property doesn't appear to booked full tonight so not sure why the room we were given.

The g Hotel & Spa in Galway, Ireland is a stylish and elegant designer hotel that recently underwent a one-million-euro refurbishment. The hotel boasts cool and polished rooms, a bold restaurant, and a glamorous bar. With its distinctive individual personas of ground-floor spaces, the five-star luxury destination offers an outstanding experience for those interested in fashion and design.
The G has a decent location. We did end up taking taxis into town in the evening. There is free self parking. The only issue is getting out of there (even for the taxis) requires an awkward drive through a tight parking lot. The entire staff was professional and friendly. I think the decor is cool, lots of velvet and fun colors. Our room was clean and super spacious. Robes and slippers provided. The bed was very comfortable and allowed for a great night of sleep. There's even a mini-fridge that you can actually use and not get charged for. On check in there was a little bag of snacks and a plate of desserts with a lovely welcome note. Turn down service brought some tasty chocolates. Really nice touches. One of the highlights of the stay was the breakfast. These were undeniably our best breakfasts of our week in Ireland.
Tia P — Google review
I was really shocked and disappointed at the condition of the hotel for the price that it cost. I have never been to a 5 star hotel (or even a 4 stay hotel) that felt so outdated and cheap. The bedding was low quality, neither the furniture nor room were comfortable at all. The pillows look nice but they become flat in an instant. The tables and chairs in the lounge and bar were never wiped down (every day same experience) and there was only one server for the entire room, running to service bar and kitchen etc. which made it incredibly slow to receive service (not their fault). The quality of the food for the price was not to standard. I understand construction needs to happen but beginning with hammers and drilling at 8am is unreasonable in my opinion. The location feels cheap with parking in a shopping center, and the spa is incredibly expensive, not included at all, and not open in the evenings. I was happy to pay for the pass to experience the relaxation room without a full treatment, but was given some pressure that it would only be guaranteed if I paid for an overpriced massage also. How can you offer spa passes (advertised on the room TV all day long) but then say it’s not guaranteed even if you want to buy one? I really tried to like my stay as I spent a lot of money and was trying to treat myself; but I honestly regret this choice. The staff were friendly but this didn’t make up for my overall experience at all. I recommend to anyone that you save your money and go somewhere else.

We really enjoyed staying at the G Hotel. It was a bit further from the center of town than we would have hoped but it was easy to get a cab and it is walkable if you are so inclined. The hotel, itself, was lovely and the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. We felt cozy and cared for and loved all the different areas where one could relax or spend time. The bar was fun and interesting and good for people-watching and the staff in the restaurant was fantastic. We also really enjoyed the daily breakfasts and found they were the best we had on our trip around Ireland. We also slept the best there - the blackout curtains were awesome and the beds were very comfortable. I would definitely stay at the G Hotel again. We really enjoyed our time there.

Myself and my girlfriend loved our overnight stay. We stayed in the summer of ‘24. You guys always do your best and we appreciate every little detail. We both come from years of hospitality work and notice all the effort yous guys do. Ahmed at breakfast was so busy and still looked after us with an exceptional attitude and got us our meals and coffees on time with no delay. I can’t remember the bartenders name, but he made me a whiskey sour that was amazing. He’s very knowledgeable in his craft and very charismatic to guests. Thank you again for our stay and we will be looking forward to coming back next year.

We had booked a Superior King Room and as it was my partners birthday they were able to upgrade us to a Junior Suite and left us some goodies in the room as an acknowledgement for my partners birthday. Everything was very personal, a handwritten card, sweets left in this delectable golden box, original Tayto crisps left on the bed. It was such a beautiful touch and my partner was blown away with how stunning the room was. Overall an amazing getaway for us who live 2.5 hours away, only shame is we couldn't stay longer.

Review from an October 2025 stay for a few nights. Great staff that checked us in, (Lucia) and the room was spacious and comfortable. We had a nice view of the lake. Welcome glass of champagne and free parking in the rear lot. We enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Compliments to the chefs. Also enjoyed the thermal spa. All in all a great visit in a nicely designed and renovated hotel. Oh yeah, forgot the piano bar which was also very pleasant!

My boyfriend proposed to me in Galway and let the hotel know he was going to ahead of time, they kept the secret and they upgraded our room! The room was absolutely beautiful! The G hotel was great! The staff were so lovely, Jeff was so incredibly friendly! The hotel is beautiful and I'd definitely recommend staying
Sarah G — Google review
Amazing hotel, Amazing staff. Stayed in the suite room with a view. Worth every penny. Two downsides were the pillows are terrible as previous reviews said and the restaurant was some of the worse food. Steak with no seasoning and not cooked to request. Fries were like frozen chips given to a child and pepper sauce which tasted like nothing unfortunately.

The Twelve Hotel Galway is a stylish and modern hotel located in the charming seaside village of Barna, just ten minutes from Galway city. It has received several awards, including Ireland's Best Pet-Friendly Stay and Best Sustainable 4* Hotel in Europe. The hotel offers modern rooms, two restaurants, and a spa with seaweed treatments. Its culinary team creates artful dishes using locally sourced ingredients, paired with exclusive wines from Irelands Wine Experience.
Delicious Food at The Twelve! My family and I had a brilliant time here this past weekend. We popped in to catch the match and grab some food, and we were thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere for the game was great, and my burger was absolutely amazing – perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The keds were kept happily entertained with colouring, and they thoroughly enjoyed their meals too, which is always a win! We'll definitely be back for another visit soon. Highly recommend for a relaxed and enjoyable family meal or to catch a game!

Booked a family stay for my sons birthday here recently with our dog. The reception staff were great. This is a real "dog friendly" hotel. A doggie welcome pack was in our room, a nice touch. Had dinner in the bar. Ordered a very rare steak, it arrived medium to well done. Asked for vinegar for chips 4 times before it arrived. At this stage my family were nearly finished dinner. I asked for mustard twice but nobody ever came back. The staff seemed to be running around aimlessly with no particular staff assigned to particular tables. Not a great experience. We booked dinner in a local restaurant for our second night. The room was just OK and the bathroom could have been cleaner. In general the hotel has a "tired" feeling for 4 star. We shall try somewhere else next time.

This Hotel is absolutely amazing, from the rooms to the staff, to the wonderful food. We booked a pet family family room. It was huge, spotless, quiet and warm. The staff are so lovely, an extra mention for Jules who was so so helpful, kind and considerate. She is very thoughtful and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. We booked the Halloween package, my son received a little Halloween bucket filled with treats and our dog received his own treats. My mother was with us and she is gluten free, this was not a problem and the hotel made beautiful and tasty gluten free food. All the food is fabulous, the breakfast has plenty of choice and the hot food is cooked to order. A treat of an Ice-cream was included in our package and the lovely Alister also gave my mum and I an Ice-cream. These little things make a big difference. Another lovely staff member on reception when checking in, got an a device for us and he came and attached it to our tv so my son could watch netlix. The hotel is a 5 minute walk down to a small beach and water, it is very central in the town of Barna. Parking is included and the rooms are extremely quiet. I couldn't fault anything about this Hotel. We had a wonderful stay.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff are flawless and so helpful. I am a tour manager and had an issue with a bag from a previous hotel and posted to this hotel to store it. Anything I needed or the group needed it was never a problem! They went above and beyond to make sure people's needs were met! It is dog friendly , and even has a dog menu! Truly a wonderful place! The rooms were lovely, spacious and clean! The bar and breakfast service was top notch ! Thank you for making the guests trip memorable!

My wife and I got married here on Halloween. Our every request was listened to and meticulously followed. The facilities are intimate, the food was out-of-this-world (no pun intended) and the rooms/facilities are perfectly beautiful. Fergal was also an exceptional host and all the staff deserve the highest compliments. Thank you all for making our spooky special day, that much more Halloween-tastic!🎃💜🖤👻

Not many times in my long travel career have I come across a hotel that is synergistic in every single way. Led by Patrick, the front desk by Laura , Andrea and Isabela this hotel goes above and beyond any I’ve been in for a long long time.. It truly goes back to a time when you felt a hotel cared. My example on this is my wife was on the highway in a rental and the entire rental stopped working, she had signs on her dashboard that the brakes will stop you will not be able to steer. You have an emissions problem. Laura stepped in like a pro and save the day. She got a tow truck outside of Alamo and headed towed to his yard. She did not have to do this, but she did because she cared about a guest.. Patrick, Tom, Owen and Andrea were there the whole time super supervising and Giving her validation and support. That’s just one example of what this hotel is all about the food and bar are fantastic. The conversation in those places is fantastic. The rooms are beautiful and well kept up. I will never forget what they did and it should be noted at the hotel is in the sweetest little Irish village ever please visit

This hotel was an absolute dream! The sizes of the rooms were amazing, and the bed - I could have stayed there all day! The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer when we arrived late in the evening and were hungry - they headed straight to the restaurant to make sure they left the kitchen open so we could get some food! That impressed me right there! But then the food in the restaurant itself was also delicious for dinner and then breakfast the following morning! Great hotel and definitely recommend if wanting to visit Galway!
Katie W — Google review
The hotel itself is good, with friendly helpful staff at reception. However I'd recommend avoiding The Pins bar attached to the hotel. We had a very poor experience with service there which frankly put a sour note on the whole stay. Having arrived back at the hotel around 10/10:30pm after a long day driving around the area, we went into the bar for one of there well advertised cocktails, but was told quite rudely that "cocktails are done", even though everyone else in the bar had full cocktails in front of them. Bit ridiculous for a "cocktail bar" to stop serving cocktails by 10:30pm on a bank holiday Saturday. The whole experience made us feel like 2nd class people and very unwelcome. For such a pricy hotel, I'd have expected much better service. Won't be staying here again.

Amazing experience using the flotation tanks! The 2 staff that were working that day were super nice and friendly and explained everything to us really well. The rooms were so clean and well equipped with everything you need for your visit. 100% would recommend to a friend.

Visited to try the sensory deprivation tank, and was Very impressed by the entire set up. Welcoming. Extremely Clean. Relaxed. An oasis of calm in the middle of an industrial estate. Post float relaxation room to further unwind with CBD teas and yoga maps, etc.

Had an amazing experience here, in what feels like a little private spa. I wasn't sure if I'd stay in the pod for the whole hour but by the end of it I didn't want to get out. Benny was a great host, giving me a tour of the place beforehand. Looking forward to going back and trying out the cryo chamber and saunas.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a float session at Full Circle Wellness. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt an overwhelming sense of calm and relaxation. Ambiance and Atmosphere (5/5): A warm and welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff greets you with genuine smiles. Cleanliness and Hygiene (5/5): Impeccable. The floatation tank, shower area, and all facilities are spotless. Floatation Tank Experience (5/5): The float itself is a sanctuary of peace and serenity. I was provided with a thorough briefing on what to expect. The Epsom salt-infused water was kept at the perfect temperature, and the tank was equipped with a neck pillow support and soft lighting which you could turn on/off during the float. Deeply meditative experience. Overall Experience (5/5): Recommend highly!!!

My boyfriend and I did a float tank therapy and then spent some time in the chill out area with a cup of tea at Apollo. Really good experience. It was amazing and totally relaxing. Total rest and peace for an hour away from all disturbances is wonderful. The staff was absolutely great and very friendly. Great experience from start to finish! I would highly recommend!!!

I had the pleasure of attending an absolutely fantastic day from start to finish. Jason embodied everything you'd want in an instructor - incredibly patient and passionately guiding the experience at just the right pace. I gained a wealth of knowledge, and the facilities were nothing short of brilliant. The cherry on top was the soothing sauna session following the invigorating ice bath. I wholeheartedly recommend this workshop to anyone looking to kickstart their journey into mindful breathing.

Fantastic expierence. Tried the sensory deprivation float tank for the first time. Got a very warm welcome from the receptionist, she showed me around and gave me essential hints. Floating went very well and after a 60min session, I felt fantastic and very relaxed. I took my time to recover in the waiting room after the float with a cup of complimentary tea. Honestly never felt so relaxed. I'll be back soon.

Good deep tissue massage. Expensive at €80 for one hour massage that ended up being 50mins 5 mins either side to change which I think is a bit rich when it's so expensive. Should be 1 hour massage for that price. Busy spot.

She was so professional, pinpointed and explained which muscles and areas of my back that were tight and causing subsequent pain points and she was an absolute pleasure. Master at her craft, highly recommend.

This was an absolutely gorgeous estate! We were automatically upgraded to a suite. We were greeted by Cyril, the doorman, who was so friendly and helpful. He had many great suggestions for things to do off the beaten path. Breakfast was always tasty and we had shortbread cookies in our room with the tea and coffee plus chocolate truffles on our pillows at night!

We stayed for a couple days and enjoyed this hotel. Our room overlooked a shed, but was spacious. The shower had some issues but overall we were happy with the room. The hotel itself is fun and has little cubbies and hidden features. The theater is a fun and tucked away and they have it stocked with popcorn and fun movies (Casablanca happened to be playing when we popped in). The food was excellent. It is a little out of the way so you need a ride to Galway. Enjoyed it overall.

The hotel is beautiful and the service was very kind, but just a note for future guests: wedding receptions here can run late into the night (until 2 a.m.) if there’s one hosted the weekend you are staying. We had chosen this property expecting a quieter experience than a city-center hotel, so the late-night music was noticeable depending on where your room is located or what direction it faces. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay.

While aspects of the hotel are very charming, our room left much to be desired. Towels that were so old, they were unraveling, a plastic floor in the shower (no tile) and inexplicably, a small fridge with a glass door with a light inside that glowed all night (we were told that’s how you “knew it was working”). Maybe the grander rooms had plush towels and cabinets to enclose glowing fridges, but beware if you are staying in a “classic” room. Despite having paid 600 euros, I can’t say this is anywhere near five-star quality.

This is a beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting. Our rooms were amazing and the beds were comfortable. The only drawback with the rooms were the tub/shower combo. VERY difficult for someone as short as I am, with some mobility challenges. That tub is so high I had a hard time getting in and out! The meals were good, but it was surprising to see only 2 servers for a group of 25 people in the River room. I don't mind a leisurely dinner but more than 30 minutes just to get our drink order and over 2 hrs for the meal is a bit long.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The hotel and grounds are so beautiful with endless wandering and exploring available. The staff here is extremely friendly, professional, and well presented. The breakfast wait can get a little bit long, so recommend getting there early.

Beautiful property just a quick taxi from Galway center. It’s on a golf course and has walking/bike paths and manicured lawns. The restaurants and cocktail bar are all great. Kind service staff. Book the falconry experience! The guide Jason is the best, and hanging out with the owls and falcons was such a fun and unique experience.

Glenlo Abbey was one of the best decisions we made for our trip to Ireland. The rooms were lovely and comfortable. The grounds were fantastic and the food and drinks available from the on property restaurant, cocktail lounge, and breakfast were beyond our expectations! We were only there for 3 nights but we fell in love with the property and the staff was helpful and so kind. I cannot recommend it enough and if we ever come back to Galway we will certainly be staying there again!

Delphi Resort is a four-star hotel and adventure center located in the Irish countryside, offering stunning mountain views and a wide range of outdoor activities. The resort provides warm rooms, a spa, dining options, and free breakfast. It caters to families with over 20 family-oriented outdoor activities such as kayaking, surfing, mountain biking, high ropes course, archery, and more. The focus is on enjoying nature and the outdoors with limited wifi access.
The hotel was amazing, and we absolutely achieved our goal of relaxation! The highlight was the SPA, where I received one of the best massages of my life from Kris! (I highly recommend requesting him if possible.) More than just a massage, he seemed to read my body, identifying my daily habits and effectively releasing all stress and knots. I've never slept so well right after! The food was also very good, and we enjoyed the relaxing music in the library and beautiful walks in nature. Very highly recommended!

This is most definitely not a 4 star hotel. The pictures are a bit deceiving. It gives an impression of a luxury spa in the mountains. The location is breathtaking. The restaurant food smelled and looked good, and the bartenders were very nice. But it was outdated and smelled very weird. Our room did not have wash cloths and we never could get any sent to the room. It was very dingy and outdated. Mold all in the bathroom. Windows and doors unable to close. I really expected this place to be off the charts amazing. Even reading recent reviews, I’m not sure how anyone can rate this place very high. It was very disappointing.

The Delphi is absolutely beautiful, the staff are all such kind and friendly people who go above and beyond. We recently stayed for a mini moon directly after our wedding day and got to stay in a stunning room, which had beautiful views and was so peaceful. The spa staff were legends, Louise and Chris were wonderful and looked after us for the two days we were there. Couldn't recommend them enough and the lovely Spa it's self! We couldn't have asked for anything better and are really grateful for our time and experience there!

Great spa hotel. Not too expensive. A loads of activities beside it. Spacious parking. Fantastic restaurant. And no mobile network coverage. Loved every bit about this place. Will definitely be back.

I had a beautiful time at Delphi Resort. It’s such a calm and stunning place, surrounded by nature. The atmosphere is peaceful, the views are breathtaking, and it’s the perfect spot to relax and recharge. I would highly recommend Delphi Resort to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway.

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel during our stay in Ireland for a luxury stay and a a calm, disconnected spot. I will say the property is very beautiful and the food is great. The staff is very friendly as well. The rooms start off looking very pretty until you start to notice the large amount of spiders surrounding you. As someone with a decent fear of spiders, I will say this is not the hotel for you. Every corner of our room was covered in huge spiders. The first morning in the bathroom 3 huge spiders came out of no where walking along the floor which put me so on edge I couldn’t take my shoes off the rest of the stay. Our comforter had a stain on it as well that made me a little uneasy. They don’t reply quickly to emails for reservations. Overall, it’s a beautiful place but the price you’re paying doesn’t seem worth it.

Imagine waking up to the sound of silence... and a breathtaking view right outside your window. 🏔️✨ That’s how we began our days at Delphi Resort, a place that seems designed to slow down the world. The room? Comfortable, welcoming, and with an outdoor space to sit, take a deep breath, and admire the mountains. The reception area sets the tone: fragrant, organized, with a charming and quiet library that seems to embrace us. And the service? Impeccable. Each staff member was kinder and more attentive than the last. We passed by the spa overlooking the mountains, and between climbing and biking, we lost ourselves in the landscapes and found ourselves in the silence of nature. Oh, and what about the food? The typical Irish breakfast with a view... The elegant dinner, with dishes that are poetry on a plate—the salmon tartar was my favorite (and the burger also won my heart!). 🍽️💛 A place that goes far beyond just accommodation. It was an experience, a respite, and inspiration. Soon, the video we filmed there will be ready—and you’ll understand why we left with a clean soul. 📍@delphiresort , thank you so much! We already want to go back.

Last year (August 2024), I booked a night away for my wife and I. We were genuinely looking forward to the break. The hotel had received excellent reviews, and we were excited to experience it for ourselves. Unfortunately, on the morning of our departure, my wife required emergency medical treatment, and we spent the entire day at A&E in Galway. As soon as it became clear we could not travel, I contacted the hotel (well before check-in time) to explain the situation and ask if we could either reschedule or, if not possible, cancel the booking. To my surprise, the manager on duty responded with coldness and a complete lack of empathy. Rather than acknowledging the urgency of the situation, I was abruptly told, “No, you're too late. You can't change it. Goodbye.” I tried calling again to better explain but was met with the same reaction. It was as if she didn’t believe the story. There was no offer to explore alternatives, no sympathy, and no professional courtesy. While I fully understand the importance of cancellation policies to protect hotel revenue, I find it difficult to believe that the room could not have been resold, especially given it was peak tourist season. If the room did in fact go unused, that would be quite concerning for a hotel of this reputation. Interestingly, we also had a spa treatment booked. When I called the spa directly, the staff member was exceptionally courteous and accommodating. They quickly offered to refund the booking and reassigned our time slots without issue. This contrast in service between the spa and the hotel reception was stark. I chose not to leave a review at the time, as I generally prefer to move on from disappointing experiences. However, it's interesting how certain moments stay with you. This morning, something reminded me of that day. So, here I am. The unprofessional and unsympathetic response we received from the hotel’s reception team during a moment of real distress left a lasting impression. For that reason, we will not be returning or recommending this hotel in the future.

Piorra Beauty Spa offers a range of rejuvenating and skincare services, making it an ideal destination for beauty treatments. Their treatments are divided into three main categories: Nurture, Restore, and Enrich. The spa is known for its exceptional staff who cater to all needs with professionalism and friendliness. Clients have praised the salon for its attention to detail in bridal makeup services, as well as for providing effective skincare routines tailored to individual needs.
My mother & myself had an appointment at Piorra Beauty Salon yesterday (Saturday). As i have MS and in a wheelchair I'm very limited and quiet conscious of it, the staff made feel like i was like everyone else & catered for all my needs, which made me feel at ease from the exact moment I entered the door. Must admit the staff were so nice & friendly and very welcoming, especially Aisling &  Sarah whom were exceptional at their jobs and so professional, also it was such a pleasant bonus they had Irish. Both of them were so accommodating to my situation, and helpful assisting me when i was going on the bed in one of their fabulous rooms. The Salon is very much wheelchair friendly and has easy access at the back. Cannot recommend this place enough, i would give it a higher rating if possible. Will definitely be a regular customer from now on as well as the mother of course!

Myself and best women had our bridal make up done at Piorra last week. All the staff were so friendly and professional from the start of organising our trials right through to the day itself. They paid great attention to detail and adapted to each of our styles. The make-up felt very natural and lasted all night. We were delighted with the outcome and got many compliments throughout the day. Thanks so much!

Nestled on the shores of Galway Bay, Connemara Coast Hotel offers a tranquil oceanfront retreat just 8 miles from Galway City. The hotel's extensive grounds provide panoramic views of the bay and the Aran Islands. With two restaurants, two cozy bars, tennis courts, and an indoor pool, guests can enjoy a range of amenities. The hotel's warm ambiance is complemented by its courteous staff and attention to detail.
I recently stayed at the Connemara Coast Hotel for a short leisure break, and everything about the experience was top-notch from start to finish. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming — the kind of hospitality that immediately puts you at ease. Our room was spotless, spacious, and extremely comfortable, but what truly made the stay unforgettable was the incredible view from our bedroom window — the Connemara coastline stretching out across Galway Bay was simply breathtaking. The facilities throughout the hotel were excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was relaxed yet refined. Every detail felt cared for. I couldn’t recommend the Connemara Coast Hotel highly enough. Whether you’re looking for a quiet getaway, a romantic weekend, or a base to explore the west of Ireland, this place delivers on every level. I’ll definitely be back!

I stayed at the Connemara Coast Hotel for 3 nights from the 24th of August, and overall, it was a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is set in a beautiful location with stunning views, and our sea-view room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with spectacular scenery to enjoy while dining. We also had dinner in the restaurant one evening, which was excellent. Up until the last night, everything was perfect. Unfortunately, after finishing dinner, I experienced a situation that left me quite embarrassed. A waitress ran after me down the corridor and asked me to return to the restaurant to provide my card for payment. I explained that I had given my room number when arriving and that my package included dinner. She then consulted a booking list and said she would have to get the manager. The manager came and said they would need to phone reception to confirm. Although the issue was quickly resolved and an apology was given, the exchange happened publicly, in front of other diners, and felt unprofessional — especially for a four-star hotel. While this didn’t overshadow the entire stay, and I would still recommend the hotel for its location, comfort, and excellent food, I do feel this incident could have been handled in a more discreet and professional manner.

The hotel was very lovely. Some of the service staff were very friendly and helpful and others seemed irritated when you asked for help. The location itself is gorgeous right on the water and most rooms seem to have a water view. But it is at least 20 to 30 Euro taxi into Galway City. So great location if you want to get away on the coast. Not a great location if you want to be able to bebop in and out of the city.

Stayed for three nights on a family holiday. Room was spacious and spotless. Beds were lovely and comfortable. We enjoyed our time in the swimming pool and on the tennis courts. Had a lovely walk around the grounds, and the views were spectacular. Food was excellent from breakfast to dinner and the bar food was fantastic for lunch. Staff were so friendly and accommodating all over the hotel. Definitely hope to return in the future.

This hotel is located on the wild Atlantic way and views are breathtaking. Staff are welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Rooms are clean and food is good. On the down side, the lobby and reception area is very cold making it difficult to enjoy that part of the hotel. Certain rooms are dated and in need of upgrade.

We loved everything about this hotel. We prefer a quiet place outside the city, and this is perfect! It’s both cozy, traditional and has some modern touches as well. Ask for a sea view and take time to walk along the water! Also, the sauna, pool, hot tub and steam room is a great option at the end of the day. We hope to be back!

Highly highly recommended! Date of stay / October 2025 As a returning guest to this hotel since 2019 I can only say if anything it has improved over the years as it has been refurbished throughout . With its spectacular peaceful setting with views of the Atlantic and well maintained gardens to its meticulously maintained interior this hotel is in a class of its own. My room (322) very cosy and warm , meticulously clean with every comfort provided from its most comfortable bed to the spectacular view . The staff across all genres (although many have come and gone in the years I have visited) are still extraordinarily efficient, friendly and helpful. The self service breakfast has again improved over the years with the layout of the self service and staff being very attentive especially with the large volumes of people. A shout out her for Ronait who is most efficient, pleasant and chatty. Her 7 years experience in dealing with customers really shows. A big thank you to the friendly and efficient Ann (as always) who accommodated me with a very keen single rate which otherwise I would have had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. When she was advised of the circumstances she was extremely helpful and understanding of the situation . It’s actions and service like this that makes me want to return time and time again. Only negative is that I have to go home!

Rooms were lovely, the place is lovely itself. A pool, sauna, gym. A bar with a restaurant. The restaurant dinner service was terrible. Me and my family waited a really long time to order the first meal, when we did we then asked for a second meal, and god I can't believe it took that long to just grill salmon. I wasn't even hungry anymore, but annoyed. We came at 20.15 and we only got ot desert at 21:40. Even though we ordered everything straight away. The waiters didn't even bother to come. Terrible service at a restaurant bur everything else was great. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing. We had a 2 year old, 5 and 6 year old. The place was magic, lovely staff, excellent installations. We went 1.5 hours out of our way to stop here on route to Kerry and went to the coffee shop beside it. A fabulous stopover, will visit again!

Absolutely loved this experience ❤️ I could of spent all day here! The fish were very active, the staff were nice and welcoming. My little boy got frightened by the loud noise at the entrance and was crying and a staff member appeared with ear defenders and stickers and saved the day. Huge ray/ shark/ flat fish tank! Highly recommend for parents of tiny humans! Our son was screaming and tired before we entered, he calmed right down watching the fishies, stayed in the stroller the whole time and was able to see so many aquatic animals from his level. Octopus tank was awesome, price was right, and the whole aquarium was a good size for little ones, not too overwhelming.

Galway’s Aquarium offers a pleasant and educational marine experience, making for a perfect family outing. While the collection features a respectable variety of species and animals, the true highlight of the visit is the series of talks and demonstrations offered by the passionate local experts on staff. Getting to see how different animals react to being fed and learning about their unique behaviors firsthand is a fantastic, engaging experience that captivates both children and adults alike, adding a memorable, interactive layer to the visit. From a practical standpoint, the aquarium is very accessible, offering the convenience of free on-site parking, which is a significant plus, though it’s worth noting that the spaces are limited. While it may not be the kind of vast attraction that requires a return visit the next day, it provides a thoroughly enjoyable and well-rounded experience.

Nestled in Kylebrack West, the Slieve Aughty Centre is a family-owned eco-friendly resort that offers a range of activities and experiences for individuals and groups. With over 25 years of experience, the center provides opportunities for horse riding, nature trails, walking, and hiking across 2,000 acres of managed forestry. The Ecotourism certified location also features an organic kitchen at the Three Towers Organic Restaurant where guests can enjoy delicious home-cooked organic food.
Thank you so much for such an amazing stay at Slieve Aughty Centre!❤️ We stayed in the hut (no. 13 — the lucky one!) and absolutely loved it. It was adorable and very cozy, hidden among the trees, offering great privacy and bringing a beautiful old-style charm. The hut had a double and a single bed, plus a desk where you can read or write — Gabriel especially loved it! We also really appreciated the fresh towels, beds and the quiet atmosphere that allowed us to relax, sleep well, and truly enjoy our privacy. It was great to have access to the playground, so the kids were safe and entertained while we could relax and read a book. Just to be aware when booking the hut: the toilet and shower are in a separate building only a five-second walk away, and both worked perfectly — nice hot water with great pressure (better then in my house) 🤣 We also had access to the kitchen just a few seconds walk away, making it easy to grab a tea or coffee or cook a quick snack if needed. And if you forget your book — don’t worry! There are plenty available to borrow, with something for everyone. The Arts Centre was also a highlight, especially for the children, and we loved the variety of games available. Chess and Monopoly became our favorites for cozy evening family moments. We opted for full-board accommodation, and it was a fantastic choice. The food was delicious, fresh, and organic — straight from the garden. My favorite lunch was the goat cheese salad, and the homemade pizza was a hit. The dinner lasagne was amazing, and the breakfast buffet was a highlight every morning: eggs, hummus, salad, ham, pancakes (the boys’ favorite!), and homemade jam — simply delicious. We spent three days learning to ride horses and going out into the forest. Jana was fantastic, and all the girls were so caring and patient with us. My boys are autistic, and both the staff and Stephen went out of their way to make sure they felt safe, happy, and well looked after. Oliver was over the moon when Jana brought out her horse, Charlie, for him to ride — it was truly a magical experience. Everyone was incredibly kind, and our boys were well looked after throughout our stay, with tea, hot chocolate, and snacks always available. Ester, the owner, is an amazing person — always there to help and support. It was also heartwarming to see the staff all eating lunch together, creating a strong sense of belonging and community. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. We had an absolutely amazing time at Slieve Aughty Centre and will certainly be back! Kisses and hugs to everyone from Gabriel, Oliver and Dominika ❤️

It’s a truly enchanting place that brings healing in many aspects of one’s life. There’s no point in writing too many words that wouldn’t do justice to this magical place! Visit Slieve Aughty Centre and enjoy your unique experience even with your four legged friends! Thank you immensely for your service and for creating such a magical place! 🙏

Abbeyglen Castle Hotel is a refined 19th-century castle with a serene atmosphere, surrounded by lush gardens and picturesque waterfalls. The Victorian castle-manor offers a variety of guest rooms, some featuring wooden floors, gas fireplaces, and four-poster beds. Owned and operated by the Hughes family for two generations, it's known for its gourmet cuisine and quality accommodation options.
Our stay here was the highlight of our Ireland trip. Not only were the grounds and surrounding area beautiful, but the owner and staff of the hotel made our stay here an experience like no other. There is a complimentary prosecco tasting where the owner, who is clearly passionate about the place and area, explained the history. Then we went up to an amazing dinner where the owner finished the dinner by singing and playing Queen on the piano. These two experiences gave us a chance to meet others at the hotel and created a special experience we all got to share together. Then, at the end of the night, we went down to the bar where there was wonderful live music.

Very mixed about this hotel. It’s a beautiful castle on the outside and the grounds are nice. It’s a short walk to the water. Our room was really nice- beautiful large room, very castle like, lovely green garden view, large bathroom with shower and bath and nice products- it’s a great room! There are also some nice areas to relax and the evening we were there, there was some nice entertainment at the bar. Downside is it’s a bit too dated in its approach and somehow feels like it’s set up to attract big tour groups - maybe we were the wrong crowd. The breakfast is very basic for the price of the hotel, with a strange buffet style in some round tables and then some options on the Menu. A few of the staff we encountered were friendly but felt like exchange students from France. The bar didn’t have 0 % beers despite this being v popular- it’s some how just hasn’t evolved with time. It’s 💯 not value for money and having spent a few nights in a few other hotels of similar price, it lacks the extra touches for the price - from amenities to high quality staff and service and food. It seems focused on tour groups and that works for them but I wouldn’t go again.

This is going to be a long one. This place is five stars, more like seven, do you want character? This has it do you want architecture has that too? Do you want a beautiful view check, can you walk to town?yes. Do you like Ivy? This place has lots of it. The inside, it’s old. There’s necks and scratches, it feels like the kind of place you’ll never wanna leave. Staff? Fantastic. The rooms, unbelievable. The bathrooms? As nice as they could possibly be. Fabulous rain showers. The food, absolutely five star, the food service? Add another five stars. The atmosphere? Had another five stars. We went on a tour of Scotland in Ireland and this by far was the finest place we stayed. I actually had to stop and ask some of the staff people how they liked working there, because if you could choose the most fabulous place to have a job, this would be it. Myself & 2 friends spent 3 nights in the Abbeyglen recently & had a most enjoyable experience. From minute we landed everything was perfect, from breakfast to history of house to a fabulous dinner. We got brilliant value for what we paid for our stay. Staff were very helpful staff at reception. restaurant & bar staff & cleaners. We will definitely be making this an annual trip

Wish we could have stayed longer. It was so charming, restful, and had everything we needed. Even though outside was sideways raining, it was perfectly cozy and welcoming inside! Note that it's very close to town,a short walk or drive, its right on Sky Road for easy access. The owner comes out at 630p and serves prosecco and gives an oral history of the place while a pianist plays. Really special.

What a fantastic experience staying here. Loved it. From the moment our tour van pulled up to their front door, Brian Hughes and staff made our visit extraordinary. The Castle/Hotel was magnificent. Dinner was excellent. Waitstaff and Brian made it a night to remember. We heard the history of the Castle and locale. Brian regaled us with a song on the piano. We celebrated the night. Brian is a showman. Thank you Abbeyglen for being a highlight of our trip to Ireland.

Our recent stay was simply superlative from the moment we arrived until our (somewhat wistful) departure. Every staff member was friendly, helpful and attentive; the castle, the grounds, the surroundings, the service, the bar, the food, the entertainment and our rooms far exceeded our already high expectations. It was a once-in-a-lifetime weekend that I’d love to repeat. Many thanks especially to Mr. Hughes for his warm hospitality.

We stayed in this fabulous hotel last weekend celebrating our 40th anniversary. We booked this last May and our experience from our first conversation with Olive to book our 5 rooms to our arrival at the hotel to meet Grainne on reception was without doubt first class. We were delighted to meet Brian and had a very informative talk at the fireside before our meal. Brian was an incredible host, a man of many talents, a photographer, waiter, pianist and singer. Dermott in the bar and restaurant and John the wonderful barman were a class act. Our dinner on both nights and breakfast were an experience not to be missed. Thank you Brian, Olive, Grainne, Dermott, John and all the others lovely staff we met over our stay. We look forward to be staying with you in the not so distant future. Padraic & Evelyn Kyne

Clifden Station House is a charming hotel located in a former Victorian rail station, offering simple guestrooms and renowned dining. The hotel also features a pool and gym for guests to enjoy. Additionally, the Clifden Station House Suites provide deluxe self-catering apartments ideal for extended stays.
Really excellent Hotel, great food and helpful staff. We stayed in one of the apartments and it was very well equipped and the beds were supremely comfortable. Went for an early morning swim in the leisure centre to beat the crowds and it was really clean and well looked after. We also availed of the steam room and sauna which were both great.

**Unprofessional Staff: Customer Service Needs Improvement – Read Before Booking Here** I'm disappointed to leave this review, but the rudeness of two particular staff members, along with the poor hygiene of the room & other issues, has compelled me to highlight our stay at this hotel. As previous guests of this hotel, we decided to return a year after our previous stay, following the published renovations apart from the rooms you stay in, Read on. Unfortunately, it seems that the investment in training the reception staff (Willow) and the restaurant and beverage manager was overlooked. During our recent family stay, which cost us 380 euros for the night, we dined at the restaurant (Station Carriage). When we asked for the bill, the waitress inquired whether we had the hotel's dinner package. However, when we booked months ago directly with the hotel, I don’t recall being offered this package. The waitress checked and confirmed that we did not have it. I paid the 150-euro dinner bill and approached the front desk to speak directly with the receptionist and the hotel’s food and beverage manager. Unfortunately, I was met with arrogance and told that there was no such offer. When I questioned why the restaurant staff had been offering it, the manager shrugged and sarcastically replied that they run it when they feel like it. This response left me even more confused. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and the arrogance displayed by the management and reception staff needs to be addressed. We stay in hotels around the world and have never encountered issues like this before. Furthermore, I recommend shutting down and refurbishing the rooms to address hygiene concerns before someone gets sick, as our bathroom left us feeling the need to sanitize after use due to disgusting mold and bacteria growing in various places. Please see the attached traveller photos to understand the situation before booking a stay here. It was unacceptable! Additionally, as noted in other reviews, the bedrooms are hot and stuffy without air conditioning, leading to poor sleep. The pool and hot tub had several clear issues. First, it's puzzling why they expect everyone to wear their own branded swim caps to enter the pool. To make matters worse, they want to charge you for these caps, and the gym pool staff are quick to try to sell them to you for more euros! As for the hot tub, you only get six minutes of use at a time before they ask you to step out into the cold and wait six minutes before a green light indicates that you can go back in for another six minutes. This cycle continues, which is quite frustrating! Additionally, both my partner and I experienced itchy skin, along with a bleach-like smell and red, itchy eyes that prompted us to rush to the showers to rinse off. We did notice a few members using the facilities, but interestingly, none used the hot tub while we were there—perhaps they knew something we didn’t! Unfortunately, we won’t be returning to this hotel, and if you're seeking an unpleasant experience, then feel free to book here. However, if you want to enjoy your vacation without feeling ripped off by rude staff, we advise you to avoid this place like the plague and book elsewhere. In summary, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this venue boarded up in the coming months unless they start addressing these significant issues, as it won't last long otherwise!

Beautiful hotel, very clean, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere at the reception. The manager is fantastic and makes you feel truly at home. Unfortunately, our evening was spoiled by the bartender, whose rude and arrogant attitude stood in stark contrast to the rest of the staff. After waiting 20 minutes just to be acknowledged, we were met with a dismissive and unfriendly response. If you can’t smile, communicate, or treat guests with basic courtesy, perhaps hospitality isn’t the right field. It’s a real shame, because the hotel itself is wonderful and set in a stunning Location.

Our 3rd time staying in this hotel, and we had another lovely stay.the refurbished outside ,lobby bar and restaurant was done to a very high standard. Really added to our stay having somewhere to relax in the evening. The live music that was on both nights if our stay was really enjoyable. It was very chilled and relaxing not at all overpowering for the room and I think the choice of music was perfect to add to the hotel vibe. We really enjoyed breakfast with the mix of buffet and made to order. Staff were all very friendly. The rooms are very comfortable, classic and clean. The hotel is a stones throw from the town and then short drives from amazing beaches. A really great hotel all round.

Overall my stay was nice! When I arrived there was a computer issue that was causing issues for the staff, but they were still prompt, kind and helpful. Because the system was down, I was personally shown to my room (I appreciated the team’s ability to stay calm and organized during the system outage). The room was nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size! The breakfast served was great. There was a variety of options and the servers were kind and attentive. I would stay here again!

Centrally located in Clifton Town ideal jump off point for tourist's. Service here is excellent could not fault it. Room's adequate and Clean but a little small for the price. Also a bonus is the Swimming pool.

The staff were very friendly and efficient when I stayed there with my husband. We had bed and breakfast booked, but did not eat dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was very disappointing - the bacon was dry like shoe leather and the tomato was just warm, but had not been cooked under the grill. Coffee was very bland and there was no option other than the rather nasty filter coffee - no espresso or cappuccino for example.

Children's Museums
Nestled behind B&Q in Knocknacarra, Monkey Business is a vibrant indoor play haven designed for children up to 10 years old. This exciting adventure center boasts three stories filled with climbing frames, thrilling slides, and colorful ball pits that promise endless fun. Little ones can safely explore dedicated toddler areas while older kids dive into activities like bouncing on castles or getting creative in the painting zone. Parents can relax at the café as their children enjoy a day packed with laughter and exploration.
Having tried every play centre in Galway Monkey business is for sure mine and my daughters favourite place to go! All of the staff are so accommodating and kind and the facility itself is amazing! It’s never overcrowded due to the booking system which I think is fantastic gives the kids a chance to really get around and play! They also have a brilliant cafeteria area and plenty of seating! 10/10 from me!

Monkey Business is fabulous. We have been there many times - either just ourselves with our own kids, or often for parties. Our middle guy just had a joint birthday this past weekend with a friend in his class and the kids as always had a fantastic time. I also love how they give bibs so you can easily spot the kids from your party! The kids have a fabulous time and are always safe .. gives us parents time to have a bit of a chat without having to keep an eye on them. We'll be back many times more.

Brought our two toddlers there for the first time and they loved it. Spacious, colourful and well laid out. It operates a booking system which is well organised and means it's not crowded. We'll be back.
Cian M — Google review
This will be the last time I visit Monkey Business. I came with two young children, aged four and one. I was surprised to learn that I had to pay for my one-year-old, who is far too young to use most of the facilities beyond the ball pit area and the small soccer area. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the receptionist. When I questioned the policy, she compared it to paying for a child at the cinema, which is not accurate or appropriate. A one-year-old does not require a ticket at the cinema, nor have I encountered any other play centre that charges for a child so young. Even after I paid for my one-year-old, the receptionist’s attitude made me feel extremely unwelcome. They had an hour and a half in which they could have approached me to politely explain the policy, but instead, all I received were dirty looks. The issue is not the fee itself but the dismissive and unprofessional manner in which the situation was handled. Staff should be trained to show courtesy and hospitality, especially when dealing with families. Do better, Monkey Business.
Silvestras G — Google review
Our little boy absolutely loves it here he is obsessed. His creche said he always talks about Monkey Business and how we should have shares in it at this stage lol. Great fun for kids and it's lovely to be able to sit and watch them while having a cup of tea/coffee. Very lucky to have this play centre so close by. Thanks

Lovely play area to bring your kids. My son always has so much fun and is exhausted afterwards. Parents can also get tea/coffee. Staff are very nice. Better than any indoor play area in Galway. Five stars easily.

We recently had our son’s 4th birthday party here and had a fantastic time. The children were busy playing the entire time and enjoyed every minute of it. The length of time is perfect for the age group. The staff were so accommodating and couldn’t have been more helpful on the day. We had a number of allergies and were given a different option for party food. This isn’t something we have found anywhere else to date. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. Thank you for a great party!

Amazing suite and spa! Had the best time and such a good deal with breakfast and dinner! Great and friendly service from Lenel, Nicole and the manager who came to The Connaught Suite to review the lock in our bathroom door (didn't see his name badge). These staff members give the vibe they really care abut service and love their jobs. Will return again 😁🥰 the best hotel I've stayed in.

The room was fine, a serviceable chain hotel that thinks a lot more of itself, but fine. The desk staff are lovely. The issue is the restaurant and bar. We had been travelling for more than 12 hours and had booked the hotel because it was supposed to have a decent restaurant. We stood waiting to be seated for ages with staff walking past us deliberately not looking at us. Time was running out to be able to order food so in the end we walked into the restaurant, I grabbed some menus off the side and asked someone (who seemed to be a senior waiter) where we could sit. He pointed at a table then walked away. While I sat down, my husband went to the bar. The senior waiter then appeared next to me and asked for our food order. I explained that we’d not even had a chance to look at the menu yet. He rolled his eyes and walked away. A lovely waitress took our orders. I ordered a “pea, sundried tomato and butternut orzo - with cream cheese, Parmesan crisps and basil oil”. When it came my dish was a canteen style tomato sauce on orzo with cherry tomatoes and bits of courgette mixed in, bits of sweaty Parmesan on top and some garlic bread. The only thing on the menu that matched the plate was the orzo, but even that was very overcooked. I was starving, but it was not only NOT what I’d ordered, it was also basically a bowl of canned spaghetti hoops that cost €20. It tasted incredibly bland and it bore absolutely no relation to what was on the menu, to what I ordered. If they didn’t have the ingredients, why keep it on the menu? Did they think no-one would notice? I called over what appeared to be the maitre d. He offered to bring me something else, but the kitchen was closing, I was tired and I honestly didn’t trust anything else the kitchen produced after that, so I asked for a bowl of chips and he comped the first dish. I felt he’s used to these conversations, that he has made the same speech many times. Having seen other reviews, I can see this is pretty normal service here. So much for our romantic meal. The breakfast btw, was almost as bad.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “A Truly Special Family Weekend at Lough Rea Hotel” From the very first phone call with Mary, the reservations manager, our experience with the Lough Rea Hotel in Galway was nothing short of amazing. I contacted Mary back in May to organise a family weekend away for 19 of us, and she couldn’t have been more helpful. My daughter has a Border Collie (28kg), and although the hotel usually only accepts small dogs, Mary went out of her way to make sure he could come along — which meant the world to us. She helped arrange everything from the rooftop bar booking to our dinner reservation, and the whole night was just perfect. The rooftop bar had stunning views, and Jonathan, the barman, made me the nicest strawberry daiquiri I’ve ever had! At 7.30pm, we went down to the restaurant for dinner, expecting to be split up, but to our delight, they had prepared one beautifully laid-out long table for all 19 of us. It was a wonderful surprise! Even more special were the personalised menus with our family name (Glavin) printed on them — such a thoughtful touch. After dinner, we moved to the bar where Vinnie was playing music. He was absolutely brilliant — he had everyone, from ages 25 to 70, singing along and up dancing. The atmosphere was fantastic. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the staff couldn’t do enough for us, and two days after we returned home, Mary even phoned to make sure everything went well — a lovely personal gesture you don’t often get. Although the Lough Ree Hotel is a four-star, I would give it five stars without hesitation. Every detail was perfect, and every staff member — especially Mary, Jonathan, and Vinnie — made it an unforgettable weekend for our family. Thank you to all the team at the Lough Rea Hotel for making our stay so memorable. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful 2-night stay at the Loughrea hotel. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a beautiful lake view. The staff were outstanding—especially Clayton the duty manager, who very attentive, he went out of his way to make our stay very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options especially for coeliacs. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Came here with my friend for my 30 th birthday had added a bottle of champagne onto our room and we had to chase staff for it when we arrived. Staff then tried to give us prosseco even though we paid 120 euros for champagne. Anna at front desk was quite unhelpful . Half arsed check in by her also where we didn’t receive much info even though we also had a spa treatment booked. Room was nice and clean and spa was perfection the rest of the experience was a let down would not return and would also not recommend.

Specialty Museums
The Legend of the Claddagh Ring is deeply rooted in Galway's history and culture. The Claddagh Ring Museum, located within Dillon and Sons, showcases some of the earliest claddagh rings dating back 350 years. This iconic ring, featuring two hands holding a heart with a crown on top, symbolizes friendship, love, and loyalty. Visitors can explore the museum to learn about the significance of the ring and its connection to The Claddagh area in Galway City.
I recently visited the Claddagh Rings Museum in Galway being on a day trip to the Cliffs Of Moher, Atlantic Edge Ocean Walk & Galway City Day Tour from Dublin. Tucked away in the heart of the city, this small but captivating museum offers a unique insight into the history and symbolism of one of Ireland’s most iconic symbols: the Claddagh ring. The museum provides an in-depth look at the origin of the Claddagh ring, its significance in Irish culture, and how it has evolved over time. From its roots in the Claddagh fishing village to its modern-day meaning of love, loyalty, and friendship, the exhibits are both educational and heartwarming. It’s incredible to see the craftsmanship involved in making these rings, and learning about the generations of families who have kept this tradition alive was truly fascinating. The museum showcases a stunning collection of Claddagh rings, from antique pieces to modern designs. You’ll see everything from simple, traditional styles to more elaborate versions, some of which have been worn by notable figures. The displays are beautifully arranged, and each ring has a story behind it, which adds to the charm of the museum. The staff at the museum and shop (actually the same) were incredibly welcoming and eager to share their knowledge. Located in the vibrant city of Galway, the museum is easy to find and makes for a perfect stop during a day of exploring the city. The atmosphere inside the museum is cozy and inviting, making it a great spot to immerse yourself in Irish heritage for a while. The Claddagh Rings Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in Irish history, culture, or jewelry. It’s a small, charming museum that offers a deeper understanding of the meaning behind the famous Claddagh ring. Whether you're a visitor to Galway or a local, this museum is a hidden gem that’s well worth a visit. Highly recommended!

We were staying in Galway and our travel agent picked this hotel. Truth is it is a bit dated but very clean. The bathrooms are fine but lacking the upgrades and amenities of nicer hotels. The restaurant and bar were great. The employees were SO kind and accommodating. You can easily walk to Athenry. It has restaurants and bars. A load of ancient stone remnants and stone buildings that are fascinating. We enjoyed our stay!!

We recently got married at the Raheen Woods hotel and could not recommend it enough. We had the ceremony & reception here and our Day 2, as well as staying here for 3 nights along with lots of family - the rooms and food throughout our stay was top class! The food was outstanding, with many of our guests commenting on the quality. But the staff were what most of our guests spoke about - how they went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly, making us feel really looked after, particularly Oisin & Catherine - thank you! Raheen Woods Hotel made our wedding day unforgettable, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. To our delight our room was ready when we arrived. We checked in with Tracey, who was very welcoming and helpful. Room and bathroom modern and spacious. We enjoyed the pool very much, and it was great to see a lifeguard on duty poolside. We had a small enjoyable snack in the cosy bar that evening as we ate earlier in the town. My son enjoyed the arcade games. Good breakfast selection. Food was fresh and tasty. Overall the hotel, leisure centre and grounds were immaculate and extremely well maintained. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. The only downside was it a short stay as we heading elsewhere, but we will definitely return again for a few nights.

The welcome was wonderful. The room was clean and adequate. The restaurant was very busy, but we didn't have to wait for a table. By the time we were there, they ran out of beef, pork and carbonara, which wasn't a problem for us. I had a stir fry and my husband had a chicken burger and fries. Both were very good. The restaurant was noisy, but I think it was because of the long weekend. Overall a very nice place to stay.

The colorful and quirky rooms are just a short walk from Galway's city center, offering easy access to attractions like The Fountain.
Super happy we picked this hotel in Galway. The room we had was a nice size. Everything was clean and the bed comfortable. Location wise it was very good, and less than a 5 minute walk from Eyre Square. There is also a coffee bar and restaurant in the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

Rooms are very clean, bathroom is great size, bed area is good. Closets and bag area is very small and no place to put your clothes. No safe. Fridge costs is not too bad. The King bed is not a King and at times it would separate in the middle. If you are staying in the front of the hotel, you can hear the cars and people coming out of the hotel. Not a problem for us but maybe for some people who needs quiet. The blackout shades helps when you are trying to sleep at 10pm and it's still light out. Very close to the central bus station and Eyre Square. I did expect a little more because it claims it's a 4 star but that maybe just on my end. I did like the mini spa, i wish the weather cooperated more so we could have more time to enjoy it. Elephant and Castle was good, breakfast staff and food is great at Sophie's. Overall, i enjoyed Dean Galway and can recommend it.

This hotel was great. The staff was phenomenal. David at the front desk and Johanna in housekeeping were terrific. We had some challenges and needed medical support; the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The rooms are very small but a perfect for 1-2 nights in the city. The people make this hotel fantastic though!

I had such a wonderful stay at The Dean Galway and truly wish I could have stayed longer! From the moment I arrived, the staff at the front desk were incredibly kind and welcoming — their friendliness made all the difference and set the tone for a great visit. My room was spotless and stylish, with everything feeling fresh, clean, and thoughtfully designed. You can tell the hotel pays attention to the details, which made the stay all the more comfortable. Sophie’s, the rooftop restaurant, was another highlight — beautiful setting, great atmosphere, and delicious food. It’s the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring Galway. If you're looking for a modern, welcoming, and well-located place to stay in Galway, I can't recommend The Dean enough. I’ll definitely be back — next time for longer!

Beautiful and comfortable hotel. Charming rooms. The ability to go to a hot sauna, pool and a cold plunge was an added benefit. Dave working the front desk was incredibly helpful! He gave us a bunch of places to check out and each one was fantastic .

This hotel has everything you need to have a great Galway experience. The hotel is very modern and nice, and the staff is very welcoming. Only a couple minutes walk from the downtown Galway restaurants and bars, but far enough away to not be be bothered by the noise in crowds. Parking is a little bit of a challenge here and unless you are lucky to get one of the few spots out front, you have to walk several blocks to the parking garage.
Chad B — Google review
Rooms were clean but impractical use of limited space. Room was in minor disrepair - window draft, scratches on walls, pooling of water in shower, sink slow to drain. The rooms are extremely loud, any sound in the hallway or neighbouring rooms is easy to hear. It was an interesting choice when work was being done early in the morning outside the guest rooms on a Saturday. Location is great.

Our stay at the dean was perfect! Loved the decor and ammenities and a convenient location. But really want to shout out Dave from the front desk, he was so helpful and attentive and he gave us all the best recs for our stay in Galway. We loved our time here! Thanks to the whole team

I cannot recommend this yoga retreat highly enough. From start to finish, the entire experience was wonderfully planned and prepared - thank you so much Dave and Joanne! Every detail was taken care of, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the practice and the environment. A special mention must go to the daily sessions with Eleanor. Her guidance through the daily breathwork and meditations opened up a whole new approach to yoga for me. I gained insights and techniques that have profoundly deepened my personal practice. Another major highlight was the fantastic vegetarian food. Each meal was a delicious, fresh, and nourishing experience - something I looked forward to every day. The daily excursions were incredible and provided a perfect way to explore the beautiful and impressive landscape, giving me a deeper connection to the location and some truly unforgettable sights. The positive effect of this retreat is lasting. I feel it most clearly now that I am back at home—a sustainable sense of calm, clarity, and well-being. Thank you so much for these wonderful days and for your great kindness!

Highly recommend this fabulous retreat! The centre itself is modern, clean, comfortable, luxurious. The yoga studio is a great space and it brings the best out in everyone. We were very lucky to have expert yoga guidance from Grainne, and kind support from Alex. Both made the retreat feel like a safe, fun space to be in. The nature walks in the Burren were great. And the food was amazing. I'll definitely be going back!

I so thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Burren Yoga Retreat. It exceeded every expectation, and I would love to return to this beautiful place and enjoy the additional experience of the new spa building which is mid construction and anticipated to be completed next year. My yoga experience was truly wonderful and supportive. Individual instruction and support according need was easily, happily and graciously provided by Niamh, our most talented instructor. There’s no need to be concerned about your level of expertise or physical limitations. Each student is provided with opportunity to enjoy a wonderful yoga experience. The vegetarian food, a new and wonderful experience for me was first rate. It’s amazing what a talented chef can do! Our host George guided us through our day’s activities with charm and knowledge of the Burren. We had such great walking adventures with Niamh, George and our fellow students in this uniquely beautiful area. Such an interesting and enjoyable experience! Bravo, Burren Yoga Retreat Center for providing such first rate experience!

I give The Burren Yoga Retreat 5 stars. I have just returned home after a 3 day retreat. Don't hesitate to book if you are thinking of going. I walked surrounded by natural beauty, that is unique only to the burren. I was guided in breathwork classes by Eleanor our expert and kind teacher in the new state of the art studio. I ate the most wonderful vegetarian food by Claire. I was taken care of in sincerity and kindness by Joanne and David. I laughed out loud, connected with like minded people and left for home feeling refreshed again. Thanks to everyone involved in the center. It was perfect for me. Siobhan.

David has created the perfect place for you to unwind, stretch and feel at home.

I can’t say enough about my stay at the Burren Retreat Center. The location was beautiful. We got to explore the area on our afternoon outings. The rooms and the retreat center was beautifully appointed in a very serene way. The vegetarian food was fabulous and I’m not vegan. George was a terrific guide and host , charming and fun. Niamh, the yoga teacher was wonderful, so knowledgeable and willing to give of her time to answer questions and impart her knowledge to us. All in all it was a fabulous experience and I would love to return and see the new expansion that is in process now.

This has been the most luxurious and beautiful retreat Centre I've been to in Ireland! The food is amazing, the retreat was exceptional, Margarida was my teacher.. i absolutely loved her , she truly embodies the practice and the dharma! She's a rare jewel in my opinion ! Dave is an incredible host , kind and generous beyond words, I had to cancel close to my first retreat , and tho he did not have to give me a credit , he did so with such an open heart ! Can't recommend The Burren Yoga Centre enough !!!!!
Phyllis R — Google review
I had been to the Burren Yoga Retreat Centre on a number of occasions several years ago, before the new yoga studio, guest accommodation, and relaxation areas were built. I could not fault it then and I certainly could not find fault with any aspect of my recent retreat. It is a magical place for sure. Quiet understated luxury, delicious food, Atlantic swims in the pouring rain (optional), authentic yoga and meditation with Sylvia, and warm welcoming hosts combine to make this an experience that the heart and soul will not forget.... and then there is The Burren, ancient, magical and unique, and the hike through the hazel woods, and the Ring Fort, and the Cairn, and the picnic at the end of it all - a perfect day in a perfect week. This is a very special place but don't just take my word for it.....go!

I was truly in the best of hands this evening for my facial with Clara. Clara has a very friendly professional manner and explained all the steps of the facial in good detail. Her massage was divine and I just sank into the warm couch after a long day at work. I have already booked another treatment with her and am looking forward to it. Thank you Clara.

Without a doubt, the treatments offered here are beyond exceptional. Marcia leads an amazing team. Aoife is so kind, caring and so knowledgeable. She talks me through my facial treatment and it is always tailored to what is best for my own skin. The redness had reduced significantly and I have the dewy glow that I've always wanted. Laoise is exceptional at spray tans, makes me feel so at ease and is a fabulous person. Her personality shines through. Overall thank you all so much, I look forward to my next visit.

BEWARE OF CLAMPING - €120 fine My wife has been very pleased with the treatments at SeaBreeze to date. Unfortunately, on her last visit to SeaBreeze her car was clamped whilst parked in the Orantown Centre car park, directly outside of the SeaBreeze premises. There was no prior warning from the staff at SeaBreeze when she arrived for her treatment that day. Upon discussing what had happened with a member of the Seabreeze management team, there was no understanding what so ever for the delay and upset that the clamping caused, not to mention the fact she had to pay a €120 fine. The whole situation would have been completely avoided with prior notice from a staff member and it was made even worse, in this situation, by the lack of care or empathy from management.

Got given a Float session as a gift from my friend. Was apprehensive at first as I'm a bit scared of water! The staff were great and the facilities are immaculate. Took me maybe 5 mins to settle in to the pod and then I was fully relaxed. I put my back out the week before and am stressed at work. My aches and pains floated away and I had the BEST nights sleep that night! Will definitely go back again!

I completely lost track of time in this amazing place. It was the first time in a long while that I truly relaxed and I absolutely loved every moment of it! Even the staff made me laugh in the end! You're the best 😁I’m definitely coming back again. Stay awesome and never change ☺️

I had a wonderful experience with pressotherapy lymphatic pulse lift treatment in Salt Float and Recovery – it’s a deeply relaxing treatment. I had the 8 sessions offer, which was excellent value at €499. The take-home lymphatic kit is a gorgeous bonus! Nicola makes sure you’re completely comfortable, providing soft head rests, cooling fan, calm music and dimmed lights for a peaceful atmosphere.  60 minutes is the perfect amount of time for this treatment. The settings on the suit can be adjusted to accommodate each part of the body, which makes it feel very personalized. I’ve noticed a visible reduction in the appearance of cellulite, my legs feel lighter, and swelling in my ankles has improved. Nicola is incredibly accommodating with appointments and also provides excellent lifestyle and diet advice. I highly recommend her and this treatment!
Avia S — Google review
I had such a wonderful experience at Salt, Float & Recovery back in May 2022 - I was booked in on my birthday for the full experience: contrast therapy (cold plunge pool and Finnish sauna), compression therapy as well as the Floatation therapy and I left feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. It was better than any spa day I have ever been on! The facilities were clean and modern and the customer service was incredible - such attention to detail! The experience is incredible and is something that I would be delighted to try again.

Had a great experience at Salt Float and Recovery Suite in Briarhill. We booked in for the compression massage and found it incredibly relaxing and effective — perfect for easing tired legs and improving circulation. The space is clean, welcoming, and really well set up for recovery. Staff were very friendly and professional, making the whole visit smooth and enjoyable.
Daniel M — Google review
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Nicola took her time explaining everything and made me feel very welcome and relaxed. The spa itself is extremely clean and afterwards you could go into the relaxation room and have a warm drink and water. I will definitely be returning.
Lesley J — Google review
SALT was amazing! The premises was sparkling clean, very homey and such relaxing vibes about it! No issues with parking as there are reserved spaces outside. The float itself was magical, I felt thoroughly comfortable after my chat with Nicola about how to work the cover lid of the float, where the light was within the float, what to do to calm my body while getting used to the float etc! I had a lot of tension in my shoulders from working from home at a make-shift desk but an hour in the float and I felt so much more relaxed and not hunched over! My skins felt amazing post-shower and I had to have a hemp tea in their relaxation suite which I never wanted to leave! My partner used the Sauna and the Normatec compression treatment for their sciatica and found it very good. We purchased a bundle of floats upon leaving as we agreed it was something that we could see really working as a monthly self-care treat! I also had some great advice with the range of products they sell and invested in some hemp tea bags and a bag of epsom salts! Cannot recommend them enough, thank you Nicola and Adrian for your lovely retreat away from the madness of the world!
Celine G — Google review
A whole body and mind relaxing experience. The floatation tank was very relaxing and spotlessly clean and my partner tell me the cosmetics were top range. The lady that showed us around made us feel unrushed and comfortable and explained the whole process throughly. I certainly will be back for another session. I added 2 photos of the chill out room.

Had an incredible massage with Ayusha today. She took me on short notice on a Sunday and was so professional and welcoming — easily the friendliest masseuse I’ve ever met. The treatment was top class, from the cupping to the deep tissue work and finishing with the massage guns. I usually go to Robert’s but I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

I have been to Phoenix massage a few times over the last year, getting massages from Robert and others and have always enjoyed them. Most recently, I got a sports massage from Ayusha and really enjoyed my experience. She had a thorough discussion with me in advance of the massage, asking where the issues were and what sports/excercise I was doing that would have caused this. She also took time after the massage to give me tips on changing my posture during certain movements that would result in better movement and less stress/pain. I have already recommended Phoenix massage to friends and colleagues and will continue to do so. Thanks so much!

Castle
Lynch's Castle is a robust limestone house located at the corner of Shop Street and Abbeygate Street. It dates back to the 14th century, with its current design from the 16th century. The castle provided extra protection to the Lynch family, who were one of the influential tribes in Galway during that time. Despite being less grand compared to other castles, Lynch's Castle is remarkably well-preserved, featuring a limestone facade from the 14th century.
It is actually a tower of the castle that was once in this spot, located on a very busy pedestrian street, easy to walk by without taking much notice, these days it is home to a bank
V H — Google review
This castle is actually a aib bank. Missed it the first time I pass through it. At the entrance there are some posting of the history of the building and its family, but other than that, there is nothing much there to see. It is good to take a picture from the outside and that is about it.
Albert W — Google review
If you walk by, it's worth taking a photo, but it is a bank now. There is no castle to tour. You only get to see the exterior.
Michael S — Google review
We had a very good guide explaining with a lot of fun knowing the history. We just missed the event with Mel Gibson. It seems the movie Brave hart has scenes recorded in the castle.
4mrdavid — Google review
Now a bank, once was a castle. Made in the 1600s. Still a lot of great stone work.
David L — Google review
Such a shame this is now a branch of AIB, but at least it hasn't been knocked down or left in ruins. Admire it from the street, but not much to see beyond that.
Oliver S — Google review
It’s just an old building - but it’s nice. Better to do on weekdays when the bank is open so you can see the ceiling.
Glen A — Google review
There is only an outer shell and one room on the inside of this building to see the history of the castle that once encompassed the whole city. I was quite disappointed but would definetly be interested in finding out the in-depth history on this castle, if there would be a place to tell me.

I recently dined in beautiful Bristol, where I had a green curry with chicken. The flavours were delightful and quite impressive. It honestly reminded me of comforting homemade meals. Overall, it was a lovely experience. The seating arrangement is well-organised, and the staff is attentive and helpful.

I go here from time to time and im usually pleased with it. But now i am so dissapointed about how small the portion sizes are! 12 euro for something i can eat in 3 bites! I dont understand why they made the portion sizes smaller but im honestly not happy with it. I could go somewhere else and spend 12 euro and ill definitely be full after eating. Not worth it. Dont come here
Kimmi E — Google review
Coming into the place it smelled of stale grease but we put that aside and were welcomed and sat down. Ordered food. My partner and I both got the poached eggs. Mine tasted of vinegar and my partners which are pictured were undercooked. Did of course raise this directly with the restaurant rather than just complaining next time and was told they would have offered to cook it again. No discount was offered, was asked to pay full price for undercooked food. Won’t be back again and I cannot recommend anyone visit this establishment.

I came in today with my nephews and niece just for a quick icecream , when I got in there it was 30 minutes to closing I asked if it was OK they said yes. I got in the door they didn't even let me sit down before grilling me about my order I felt rushed and it was so rude. I sat down ordered and when the ice creams came I was extremely pissed off I hot 3 icecreams and 3 soft drinks and an apple juice , the drinks were lovely but I paid 19.90 for bad ice creams extremely disappointed and appalled at the food I received and some of the service you need to work on
Claudia D — Google review
It is with regret that I must report a disappointing experience. Firstly, several months (ca. 8 months) ago they provided me with a Wi-Fi access, which was OK. However, in the meantime, they changed the password few months (ca. three months) ago, which I observed already then, but I didn't require access to internet at that time. Today I required it and asked a waiter. The waiter firstly said she would provide me with it. Then she came back to me five minutes later saying that "They changed Wi-Fi password and that she doesn't know it"!?!????? What kind of childish irresponsible excuse is that? Either they provide or they do not provide access to Wi-Fi. If they provide it, then all waiters should know it and clearly present it on the receipt. So, I wasn't provided with the Wi-Fi Service and didn't receive any receipt. I think broader public should now know about it, so I am posting it as a feedback.

Lovely food, lovely customer service. Overall vibes of the café is great, I've been a couple of times. Nice and clean, very bright and inviting. Food tastes delicious too, I always go for Eggs Benedict
Jonnel — Google review
Very disappointed with the food and service. I ordered 2 portions of pouched eggs with avocado and the avocado was very brown, you could see from the colour that it was not fresh. The server came back and said there is no pouched eggs in the menu and then she decided to bring 1 portion of pouched eggs with avocado and the eggs were hard. The waitress didn't even apologise and she walked away, ignoring us. Never order again from them. I wouldn't recommend to anyone going there, you will be disappointed
Mohammed S — Google review
Took ages to be seated, staff just standing around and not bothered. Got seated at a table which the server had said they would wipe it down straight away - she never did. Had to ask another server to come over and wipe our table. This server had a serious attitude. Disappointing experience.

Highly recommend getting a massage here! I was having pain in my left shoulder and got a deep tissue massage two weeks ago and went back for another yesterday as the results were amazing. The masseuse is lovely and makes you feel very comfortable. She took all the pain out of my shoulder and she is clearly very experienced as she was able to find other problem areas in my back from a previous injury that I had not mentioned. I went in the morning the first time and in the evening the second time and had a great sleep after both sessions. Excellent experience all round that leaves you very relaxed. Would definitely recommend getting the full hour session as the time passes quickly and it’s great value for money. Will be going back!

I have been going to Mary for a few years now and the experience is always great. I went back yesterday for the first time in a while and when I walked out, I was on cloud 9. She really did a great job. On my back. Thinking of visiting today again. See you soon Mary

My body was so sore from traveling, and Mary was able to schedule me same day for a one hour deep tissue massage. It’s not fancy by any means, but the massage was excellent—she stretches you out as well. Definitely recommend if you need some good muscle work in Galway!

I received a full body massage last week. It was amazing. I literally melted into the bed. I would high recommend.
Deirdre C — Google review
I was in a good bit of pain in my upper back which I did get some relief from. Hot oils used during massage really eased the pain and after I was able to move more freely. Mary is very friendly and accomodating. Even though I called late in the evening I was still seen which I really appreciated because my back was quite sore. Thanks Mary ! See you again

Far from a professional massage! Avoid this place unless you're looking for 'other' services. I arrived 10 minutes early for a 1 hour deep tissue massage. It's in her apartment and she asked me to wait in a child's bedroom while she finished off her previous client. I should've just left at that point, and only realised a few minutes into the massage that she was not a masseuse and I made my excuses to leave. I am actually disgusted. This is what puts people off supporting genuine independent businesses in favour of established and genuine hotels and spas. Shame on you.

Families can enjoy the 40-meter long pool until 7pm, while later hours offer a quieter experience. Members rave about the helpful and knowledgeable staff who go above and beyond to provide excellent service.
My new favourite gym experience in co Galway. Selection of treadmills, cross trainers, bicycles and other sports gear. Separate room for scheduled classes. May not be #1 choice for professional sportsmen. Great combo with a swimming pool and sauna. Very clean and tidy, popular with local families. Changing rooms, hair driers, showers are all good and plenty. Plenty of free parking, easy to drive in. Kids are allowed in the 20m long pool only until 7pm, so if you prefer quiet - come later.

Lovely staff and facilities are great. Top marks!

Im enjoying the swimming pool and i found the membership price reasonable. However the cleanliness could be improved especially the floor in some places, the shower walls, and there's a smell possibly from the drain in the showers. Still better than your average Irish swimming pool but I still use flip flops. The water is a bit warm to my liking, I would be happy with 26°

I have been attending Chez Elaine for Lymphastim treatments and find them brilliant. My legs feel lighter, more toned and the skin look far fresher after. The salon is fab and the girls working there are super professional. Best beauty salon I’ve been to.

I make the short trip from Barna outside Galway city to go to Chez Elaine. I always have a fantastic experience. Elaine is the best brow specialist ever and she provides an excellent microblading service, which I have had many times. The brows are something that really makes a huge difference when done well. Sarah is fantastic in Chez Elaine also and is so lovely, always in good form and provides consistently great beauty treatments - pedicures, facials and waxing. The best thing about this salon is that they are first to market with high end, advanced beauty treatments like micro-needling, omnilux and more recently cutting edge treatments like Esmella. These are treatments that make a huge difference to women and it's great to be able to get them in a professional, reliable advanced treatment salon like this.

There is such a fantastic range of treatments, services & products available in the salon. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my HD Brows or my nails! Can't wait for my next visit :)
Kate K — Google review
I had an appointment booked online for "eyelash extensions" which I assumed would be the eyelash extension service provided by most other reputable beauty salons. It was my first time using Chez Elaine and I was very excited to have my lashes done for an event I was attending. When I got to the salon, the lady at the till told me the service was most likely not what I thought it was as there had been confusion before with the service provided. It was advertised as "lash extensions" but what it did not clarify on the website was that it was for 3-4 day "party lashes". Although I had booked days in advance, there was no time taken to call me to explain this ahead of my appointment, although she said they had called others to explain. I was simply told that the website is confusing, and that I could have my 9euro deposit back, as if this was doing me a favour. Considering they knew it was most likely not the service I had expected I can't see how they saw it professional, or acceptable to wait until I came in for the appointment to explain this. Beauty salons, if staff are passionate and courteous should leave you feeling more confident, however, I walked out of Chez Elaine feeling ten times worse, with no time to schedule another appointment before the event I was attending.

I received a wonderful massage by Amy here today. Booking was made nice and easy by WhatsApp with time agreed. When I arrived the place was lovely and warm, which I was very grateful for as the weather outside was awful. The place is very clean and tidy with the room I was in also having two massage tables for couples. The massage itself was amazing. I felt so calm and relaxed afterwards. I didn’t have to ask her to adjust the pressure and Amy was also very easy to chat to as well. To sum things up I would highly recommend Amy for a massage. I’ll definitely be back again.

I came to Eva’s Beauty Room with my fussy and tired of using oils skin. Eva advised me to change skin routine and stop using oils for some period of time. She chose the right care products for me and I have to say that my skin started breathing again, then Eva suggested to provide the Gen factor acid treatment to give my skin a boost. After 4 treatments my skin looks brighter, moisturised, small scars and pores of the skin are clearly reduced . I am very happy with the results !!! Absolutely I’m recommended, Eva so knowledgeable and friendly whether you are looking for help with specific skin concerns or relaxing experience …. She is also a Great makeup Artist 💄💋

Exceptional taste, craft and service! Requested a frog themed cake for my daughter’s birthday and we sent a sample picture. Today at collection, the cake looked better than the sample picture that we sent. My daughter was delighted to say the least! And to top it all, the cake was one of the best that we have tasted. For someone who just tastes birthday cakes for the sake of it, I am on my 4th slice of this cake now. Not heavy; and delicious with the right mix of fresh fruits. This is one hidden gem in Barna. We will be back for more! Thank you Aisling ! Sonia Thomas

UPDATED REVIEW!!! Bought my sons birthday cake here. Exactly what I wanted and my son was delighted with it. Thank you so much again. Can't wait to see my daughters christening Cake 😍 Just picked up the christening cakes. They went above and beyond all expectations. Give the chef a concept and they run with it. Absolutely perfect 😍😍😍
Steph D — Google review
I ordered a cake for my son's Christening and showed them a photo of how i wanted the cake to look like (the one with "Jude" on it). Im not really expecting an exact replica, just to show the classy looking cake that i want to have. This was the cake i got (the one with "Lucas" on it). I was utterly disappointed and would so desperately rather not get the cake if not for having it collected the morning of my son's Christening. Looks like it was done in a rush (despite placing the order 12th sept.) Letters in disarray, lace stencil unequal, for some reason faded on some parts. Rosary beads uneven. Overall, it was very cheap looking. I am very dismayed. Wont recommend this place.
Frances C — Google review
I was passing through Bearna whilst on holiday and I needed a snack. I found this place by chance, and I'm glad that I dropped in. What a classy bakery. The shop looks lovely, and the two items I bought were both very good. The staff are nice too, especially the girl from Argentina (Buenos Aires, I think). I asked her about South America and she gave me some advice about where to stay in Brasil.

Delightful little place (part of The Twelve Hotel) for coffee, chocolate, locally made cake, eggs, wine, Voya products and various deli items in glass jars. Small seating area by the window. Low volume, chilled music, friendly staff.

While I was there I just had to taste the cakes, surprised there was not any dog cakes / treats to buy. If there was I didn’t see any :( Shop is small. But It’s great you can have a wonder around with the pooch too. Staff is lovely and friendly cakes are decent but not amazing. Found the eclair a bit to hard for my likings and not enough cream. Average.
