Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Passenger Check-In (Folkestone)

Train ticket office
Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Passenger Check-In in Folkestone has been improving its services, with plans to add more EV chargers and an improved food offering at the terminal. The check-in process is seamless, with the option for earlier travel times if available. While there could be more activities for kids, the parking is ample and the staff are praised for their helpfulness. Additionally, there's a positive experience of receiving assistance when a passport was forgotten, showcasing thoughtful customer service.
Fast and easy check in, lots of staff to make sure you are heading the correct way through passport control and to the train itself. Easy entry to the train and only 25 minutes across. We arrived early and was able to get the a earlier train which was great.
Graeme H — Google review
Over the years I must’ve used the EuroTunnel well over 100 times. The crossing is very quick (35 minutes) & on a normal day it’ll take about 30 minutes to get through the security… They used to have a frequent traveler account & you could cross the channel for as little as £43 per way but unfortunately since Covid (& maybe before that) they no longer offer the account. Crossing now can be expensive but it’s worth the time you save crossing by the ferry. Overall expect for the prices everything else is pretty good. You drive into the train & sit in your car or could walk on the side walk during the crossing…
Sam Z — Google review
If only all travel hubs were as efficient as this! Self check in was very simple, arrived early and they offered a space on an earlier train so we took it, no extra charge. Good terminal facilities. Passport control was a breeze. Fun experience.
Jane P — Google review
So much better than the ferry etc Much quicker. Sometimes you might get delays at peak times, school holidays, but never really had a bad experience. Always use this for any European journey. Very convenient and all the staff are quite friendly too
Tee K — Google review
Never had a problem with this crossing. In fact it’s now my preferred route to most parts of Europe . ( However living close to Plymouth, Spain and Brittany and French west coast I’ll take Brittany Ferries ) Saying this the Chunnel is excellent, quick , easy & efficient . I do think pricing is a little high sometimes but doesn’t stop me using. In reflection it’s quick easy and convenient, I’ll certainly continue to use .
Andrew A — Google review
Quick and easy, but very, very pricey in summer. Paid €727 for a return trip (with the caravan). For that kind of money, you could drive all of France’s toll roads and still spend less than on this “platinum-plated” train. Don't believe any of their 'special promotions', think twice about booking. If you arrive too early; no problem, they'll put you on any train. If you arrive late you have to pay a full new ticket... But it is conveniant and fast, can't argue about that. Especially if you have a long drive ahead up north. And staff is pretty helpful and friendly. Just wish they would have lower average price year round.
Stijn J — Google review
Great service, very convenient. If the prices were a little more affordable for regular crossing that would be a bonus.
Christian — Google review
Got there at requested time of 1 hour earlier. Expected to pop into the Duty Free but that was miles away. Had we known then we would have arrived a couple of hours early. Getting on and off Le Shuttle was a breeze.

Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway is a delightful experience for both railway aficionados and families alike. This charming miniature railway spans 14 miles from Hythe to the unique shingle landscape of Dungeness, offering breathtaking views across the Marsh. It's an enchanting journey that not only showcases stunning scenery but also connects visitors to local attractions like the Crafts Fair at the Romney Marsh Visitor Centre in November.
We went yesterday and had a lovely day, we got the train from hythe and went right to the far end and back. The staff are amazing and so helpful and friendly. The kids absolutely loved the train ride. Thank you to all the team for making us feel so welcome
Anthony V — Google review
Good day out, charming little railway with some beautiful steam teams and miniature diesel engines. Found the enclosed carriages slightly difficult to enter and exit, as the low roof and small doors are fairly difficult to access for older adults who wish to enjoy the experience. Some interesting history on show and a brilliant oo scale model railway at New Romney station
Barry B — Google review
An absolutely fantastic day out for railway fans. My daughters loved riding on the train and we all enjoyed the scenic views as we headed towards Dungeness. There is a lovely cafe at Dungeness, and you can climb the lighthouse at weekends.
Mark R — Google review
Bought tickets on line as thought the weather was going to be hot. Fortunately it was overcast but warm. Trains were busy but managed to find an empty compartment. Walked around Dungeness and got off a couple of times on the way back. Well worth it
Darryn M — Google review
Purchased tickets received as a,wedding guest. Loved the trip both ways and spent some time in hythe. I remember this train from when I was a child so was great to revisit these memories
Jaci H — Google review
Lovely railway line. Beautiful trains. I definitely recommend getting the rover pass and hopping on and off at each station. Great fun.
Roberta G — Google review
Brilliant 15 inch gauge railway. We parked at their RHDR Hythe station for the day (£6). We took the train all the way to Dungeness station (approx 1hr), visited the lighthouse (£5 entrance fee and 160 steps to the top, but it does have 2 landings for a rest and information about the lighthouse). Dungeness station has a café with indoor seating and toilets; also parking here is free. The café serves a good variety of food, but you may need to pay by cash as their internet connection for electronic payments isn't very reliable! New Romney station is the main hub of the railway. It has a café with seating. Above the café is a model railway layout with museum exhibits (extra small entrance fee if you didn't buy the all inclusive ticket). The model railway is computer controlled and has buttons to press which activate different features on the layout (great for youngsters). There is also a heritage area near the signal box showing the history of the railway. We'll definitely be visiting again as it is was such an enjoyable day out.

Excellent day out. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and great fun. Good food with great prices in the cafes at either end of the line

Kidz Planet is a large, indoor playground that is popular with families and children of all ages. It features various play areas, a cafe for parents to enjoy refreshments, and friendly staff who are always willing to help. It is a great place to come at least once a month for fun for little ones of all ages.
Big soft play with area for younger children separate from baby and big kid areas. We've visited many times and found the play area to be clean. My kids love the football pitch as well as the many slides and large play area. The drop slide is an added bonus for those brave children. Coffee is nice and the food is what you expect in a soft play area - no fills but no complaints! The toilets are not always fresh but with the volume of children using them I'm not surprised. The booking system for soft play/lazer tag needs amending as you have to pay for an adult but it also says 1 adult with 1 child is free. Overall defo worth a visit! We've been coming on a regular basis for nearly 10 years!
Ruth T — Google review
Had a lovely time here Easter Sunday with our 4 year old. Reasonably priced, extra activities put on for Easter (staff did a great job) and a good variety of play equipment. Would visit again.
Paul D — Google review
My kids loved it, plenty seating. Cheaper to pay online in advance. Baby, toddler and older kids separated play areas. Cafe on site with food and drinks. Upstairs seating also available. Some parts of the play area closed, it looked like a rocket train, would have liked to see that open especially that it was half term.
Lorren J — Google review
Fantastic kids party. My 4 year old party at another venue got cancelled a week before the party. Kidz planet were able to accommodate and down a great job. We’re not very close to lots of the guests haven’t been before and everyone went away saying they’ll definitely come back. Definitely recommend. Thank you!
Jordan L — Google review
Great for party's and just an afternoon out. Cafe does good food choices for the kids. Prices are respectable. So weekends with bad weather the place will be packed. Hit and miss if your get a seat. They do it on amount inside so I would recommend booking.
Will T — Google review
Was well worth the hours drive to try a new soft play, both kids liked it a lot. Lots of seating, with hard and soft seats. Catered for all ages. Has its own mini roller coaster too!

Absolutely do not bring your children here. My three year old daughter was repeatedly pushed and hit by a member of staffs child on the 23/09/2025 who I have now found out is actually the managers (Lisa) child. My daughter attempted to play football with my brother in law, as she went into the football area this boy took the ball off her and pushed her she then attempted to go in there again and unfortunately the same thing happened and the boy seemed to be getting more aggressive this upset my daughter and she was then brought back downstairs to avoid her being seriously hurt as she is only three and the boy was around 7/8. My daughter came down stairs shortly after this the boy came down when he saw my daughter again she was stood by the canteen area he then pushed her into the canteen wall she hit her head and was screaming in pain no accident form was given despite 3/4 members of staff watching including the ‘manager’, the boy was not told that what he had just done is not nice or okay to do. We left after this upset and shocked by what had just happened and will not be returning again. I called up this morning to try and speak to a manager to report this incident and question why an accident form was not given despite a head injury. It then came to my surprise that the lady whose son it was was who I was speaking with she informed me she was the ‘manager Lisa’ on the call. The phone call was appalling I was shouted at by this ‘manager’ and she tried to blame my daughter despite my whole family witnessing the event thankfully I have the phone call all on record and will be taking it further. I really do not recommend this place as it is not safe for your children and evidently the staff do not care either.
Jordanna L — Google review
Over the years I would describe Kidz Planet as unfortunately going down hill the play equipment is becoming quite old and really needs a good updating. The times I have been there it's been hugely overcrowded, it's so hot in there I don't think there is any air conditioning. Cleanliness whilst I understand can be difficult with kids running around could be better with tables not being cleared, food all over the floor. I didn't have much interaction with the staff however the people I did come into contact with were pleasant I would just say it seemed like there weren't enough staff. My rating is mainly to do with the cleanliness and outdated equipment.

Specialty Museums
The Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust boasts an extensive assortment of WWII aviation-themed memorabilia, including warplanes, uniforms and artifacts. The exhibit comprises various aircraft hangars and features a vast selection of British and German planes as well as military paraphernalia. Although photography is not allowed in the main hangers out of respect for those who fought during the war, visitors can enjoy taking pictures elsewhere on the premises.
Visited today and was unsure what to expect because, despite being a history lover, WW2 isn’t normally a time period that interests me too much. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the sheer amount of work and dedication to those who served and died during the Battle of Britain. There is no photography allowed, which is understandable given the context. Me and my parents spent the whole day here absorbing the emotional stories that all had been meticulously researched. Would absolutely recommend. We also paid a quick visit to the nearby cemetery a minute’s drive away to see the graves of some of those who died in the surrounding area. A great tie in to finish off a wonderful day!
Danielle B — Google review
What an excellent Museum, the curator and staff go the extra mile to uncover any items related to the battle of Britain. They have separate sections devoted to individual pilots which helps to bring the whole experience to life. There are some amazing aircraft on site and they support various outside projects, including one to bring a hurricane, recovered from a marsh, back hopefully into an airworthy condition. If you have any interest in the Battle of Britain, then this is a must visit Museum. Set aside a full day as there are a tremendous amount of exhibits and life stories of Pilots.
Hugh L — Google review
We had a very nice visit here! This museum was far bigger than we expected. What a great collection of planes and other WW2 memorabilia. Lots of friendly volunteers made our visit even better!
Martijn B — Google review
Brilliant museum. You have to hand in your cameras and phones as photography is strictly prohibited unless accompanied by a guide. I wasn’t that bothered but took these from the outside. Staff were very friendly. They have a memorial exhibit for every airman stationed at the site, who died. I remember reading one account who died long after the war, but most were casualties from the war. Some exhibits were of non British airmen. I’m avoiding keywords that search engines might pick up on. The museum is packed, I think they must have all their artefacts on show. The item I found most extraordinary were the training paintings, showing a sequence of plane manoeuvres. We visited late on a Friday in late July
Jenny W — Google review
Me and my dad visited here about a month or so ago, and it was a great experience I must say, brilliant display, but just warning you early, when you walk in and book, you must have your phone in a safe, but if you want to take pictures someone will get called over and guide you to where you are allowed to, but this museum is a good place overall.
Seb S — Google review
Absolutely magnificent little museum, full of amazing stories of heroism in the Battle of Britain, and reconstructed aircraft, which is run by hugely enthusiastic volunteers - allow a couple of hours to wander around then enjoy a delicious meal or snack at the mess. So pleased we found this gem.
Felicity W — Google review
What a fantastic museum this is. When I say it's full with WW2 Battle of Britain history it's an understatement. This place is a little gem for anybody interested in this period in time. There is also a WW1 display but mostly Second world war artifacts fill the walls and ground. Pictures are prohibited in the museum itself due to a few reasons but Pictures outside are fine. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. There's also a onsite cafe where we had a fry up, which was great. It also has a little shop with plenty of books and gifts avaliable. The museum collections though are what makes this place what it is. In the middle of the museum on the grass is an array of aircraft including 3 full scale replicas of the Hawker Hurricane, a real Heinkel and a JU 52 among others. Please vist this museum and help keep the history of these brave men and women alive.
Joe J — Google review
Excellent museum commemorating the Heroes who fought in the skies over Southern England in the Battle of Britain, absolutely packed with memorabilia and facts. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area, just to add no photographs can be taken inside the buildings but the Aircraft outside can be. Lovely Cafe serving an all day breakfast and more, staff very friendly and knowledgeable which adds upto my five star rating.

Fast food restaurant
The Eurotunnel chain offers a healthy counter-serve restaurant that takes inspiration from around the Mediterranean. The selection of food is varied and includes freshly prepared items, many of which are healthy. The idea behind the restaurant is to reduce plastics and use large paper bags instead, but this would be great to be optional rather than compulsory.
Called in for a bite to eat whilst waiting for the shuttle. Nice choice of tasty meals. Good cup of tea made with fresh milk. Staff very friendly and nice.

Food fine and good for veggies. Long queues and slow service. I was warned that the queues are always long here. Sort it out. If you can't cope add more staff or just reduce your menu.
Ian G — Google review
The menu is unclear and it’s hard to see if there are any meal deals or combos available. There’s no option for electronic ordering, which makes the process slower, and the place wasn’t very clean either.
David B — Google review
The food was not great but there were vegan and gluten free options so we were grateful. The staff were friendly and helpful and the order was correct.
Jeff B — Google review
Awful experience (wished I’d read reviews beforehand as clearly not alone). Went in for breakfast - ordered bacon rolls amongst other things. Waited nearly 20 minutes. Left in a rush to eat in the car only to find bacon was virtually raw! Throw them all in the bin. Avoid this place!

The Brickfield Cookhouse + Pub is a stylish chain pub offering classic international favorites, grill dishes, and burgers. While some visitors found the service a bit slow and encountered an unpleasant smell near the toilet area, others appreciated the friendly and helpful staff. The menu offers plenty of choices, with the Mixed Grill being a favorite among diners. The dining area was clean, and despite some limitations on customizing set meals, additional items could be easily added.
Last minute reservation. Staff were lovely. Very helpful. I've got allergies and was easily able to identify what I could have. Food arrived promptly, hot and fresh. Really enjoyed our meal.

Came here last week for a family meal, and was impressed with the quality and amount of food given. So we decided to give it another go but try the value range. We were blown away with the quality and amount for such a low price. We, 3 adults all had 2 courses and drinks non alcoholic, 0 Guinness in my case, and the bill was under £50. If you join their email list you can get 25% off, with vouchers for half term giving discounts and free meals for children. We highly recommend this establishment and will be using on a regular basis. Also whilst writing commend our waitress Sharon for her excellent service.

Basically don't bother, we booked for a Sunday roast, the waitress then started to list what they didn't have, no roasts, no fish n chips none of this and none of that, eventually I asked her to list what they did have as that list was shorter. The table next to us had ordered drinks but got up and left them after hearing there was virtually no food, the place was nearly empty, the manager should be sacked for allowing this to happen, no organisation at all, no wonder they keep sending out coupons. I ordered beef cottage pie, you can see from the attached photos what I got, I didn't count the peas 😂🤣

We had waitress Meli, she was very polite and professional waitress. We attended on a Saturday night and even with the added pressure of an error in order it was rectified immediately. We are happy. The food was nice and so was the atmosphere.

Absolutely disgusting, I won’t go into too many details but it wasn’t cooked properly and it looked like someone had chewed the chicken and spat it out then cooked it , all the tables were dirty. Just horrible .

It’s good for a cheap meal but noticed corners have been cut. The house salad with chicken/avocado has no avocado’s in it. The chocolate sundae was supposed to have Cadbury’s chocolate in it but only came with a profiterole, ice cream & sauce Dessert menus are looking tired & need replacing but overall it’s a ok place to eat Hot Dog 9/10 Jam Roly-poly was 9/10 Waitress 10/10

Generally really nice for a traditional pub-attached-to-a- Premier Inn. But just one thing: My wife and I were sat in a lovely quiet alcove that only seated 2 and just as we were about to order food, a waitress seated a family of 6 right on top of us on tables that got joined together to accommodate them all, even though there were loads of big tables free all over the pub. Maybe I'm being a little picky but a review is a review.
Ken B — Google review
Food is average at best. Service very slow. We waited 1 hour for the table to be cleared after our mains, and then only when I asked. Desert took 35 mins to arrive and again only when I chased it. Was cheap, but you can clearly see why. Would not recommend.

Restaurant
The White Hart Inn Sevenoaks Kent is a historical pub that has been around since 1395. It features a traditional red-brick exterior and offers a modern pub menu. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with barrel tables and a wood-fired oven adding to the charm. One can also enjoy the beer garden in warmer weather. The staff are known for their friendliness and efficient service, making finding a table easy and ensuring quick service.
After being let down with another venue I rang around and The white Hart were extremely helpful and gave us a table with the provision we had to be done by 3.30. The young waitress was very attentive and got us drinks right away and we ordered our food. This part was the only glitch to a perfect start. We heard some plates being dropped we can only assume it was our dinners, I say assume because we waited for over half an hour before our meals arrived and nothing was said . But it was ok we were talking and celebrating my mums birthday. The food was amazing and well made up for the wait. The plates were ginormous I had the mix which was beef, pork and chicken. The variety of veg was impressive, stuffing and a large Yorkshire pudding. I can whole heartedly recommend this pub. The food , atmosphere and staff made it a fantastic experience. Thank you

Great venue, enjoyed the outside deck area in the sun. Good drink menu and ordered food which was surprisingly very good and would definitely return. Compliments to the chef 👌

I hate to give 5 stars. Like nothing can be improved. But I feel that would be unfair. All the staff was super nice an helpful, even if when the waitress asked if we had any allergies, to which my normal response was manual labour. She looked very confused. Dad jokes wasted on her sadly lol Our order was taken swiftly. Our drinks were brought out, given we drink like fish, we still had plenty left before our food came out. We both had something different. Was very happy with mine, my partner was happy with hers, tho we both felt it seemed odd it didn’t come with a small serving of side salad. It didn’t make or break it, just everywhere else we ordered this meal from always does The place seemed squeaky clean an very pleasant, and while paying as we left the barmaid serving us was clearly old enough to get my parting dad joke. So that’s a winner ha ha

We were informed we could only stay if ALL of us bought food. So they were happy to take us if we ALL bought food but were extremely unfriendly to tourists. Avoid.

Enjoyed a lovely pizza and loaded fries on the deck for lunch. This place had a quirky/modern menu with a nice drinks/cocktail menu. All nicely presented and tasted good. The staff were attentive and polite. I will return and recommend to others.

Absolutely amazing! I had the Tiger Prawn Pasta and it was hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The gluten-free homemade maltaldine pasta was perfection you’d never even know it was gluten free! The prawns were juicy and full of flavour, and the chilli & garlic butter sauce with parmesan and fresh herbs brought everything together beautifully. Couldn’t recommend enough – I’ll definitely be back!

We held a large event at the White Hart with over 30 people having starters and mains. The White Hart delivered nothing short of perfection for us. The food was delicious, the restaurant was decorated absolutely beautifully for Christmas and the staff were patient and friendly with all guests including some small children. The kitchen did brilliantly as well with not one late dish or error and they catered to everyone’s dietary requirements ahead of time. It was perfect. Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Folkestone Harbour, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Steep Street Coffee House. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Marina
Folkestone Harbour is a picturesque location with a cantilevered restaurant offering stunning views of the English Channel. The area is known for its seasonal and local produce, particularly from the South Coast of Kent. The harbor features a charming marina with fishing boats and trawlers, making it an iconic image of Folkestone. Visitors can enjoy various dining options, from champagne in the Lighthouse bar to street food stalls offering diverse cuisines.
Very lively seaside town with lots of creative vibes. Nice seafood and lots of places to eat in the harbour- it’s like marketplace, near a nice beach and creative shops. Also a nice seaside park area for a walk and picturesque photos. You can park for free for 2 hours near the park entrance. Great for a day out.

Absolutely charming seaside town with a perfect blend of heritage and modern flair. The Harbour Arm is a highlight—great food stalls, live music, and atmosphere right by the sparkling sea. I loved strolling along the Leas promenade and catching glimpses of France across the Channel. Folkestone’s Creative Quarter adds a lovely artistic touch, with cool galleries, quirky cafés and a relaxed vibe. With its vibrant public art, scenic parks, and welcoming feel, this is a hidden gem on the Kent coast!

Love this place. Plenty of great food and drink on offer. Great atmosphere when we popped down on a Friday evening with a ska band playing, place was buzzing. Can't wait to visit again.

It’s a lovely area to spend a day but unfortunately is not family friendly , except a carusel is nothing to do for children . No amusement parks , no playgrounds and fair.

We visited Folkestone Harbour the night before catching a ferry to Europe and were really pleasantly surprised. It’s a vibrant, welcoming spot with plenty to do – from quirky bars and cosy eateries to a fun crazy golf course, a stone beach, and a children’s playground. The harbour area is beautifully designed, with lovely views out to sea and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it perfect for socialising or simply soaking it all in. It’s a great place to spend a few hours, whether you’re passing through or making it your main destination. A fantastic way to spend quality time before heading across the Channel – highly recommend!

Pub
Restaurant
Nestled by the picturesque harbor, The Harbour Inn is a delightful gem that has been revitalized by owners Ben and Lucy Cuthbert, who are also behind other local favorites. This charming pub reopened in 2018, showcasing a nautical theme with its stripped floors and cozy wooden seating. The ambiance is enhanced by candlelit tables adorned with hops hanging from the ceiling, creating an inviting atmosphere for all visitors.
This place is the nicest pub, I just loved the decor, the atmosphere, the ambience and the food! Location is perfect too, in between the beach and the shops! Had Sunday roast, it was very good!

A wonderful place to dine, all staff are very friendly and helpful. Food, the Lamb, was stunning and the burgers were very filling. The atmosphere is very busy with lots to look at and a warming fire is always a welcome when coming in from the cold.

We had dinner at Harbour Inn in Folkestone, near the Old High Street, and it was a great experience. We ordered Mussels and Whitebait — both dishes were fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. The quality and portion sizes were excellent. The restaurant/pub has a lovely ambiance; I especially liked the wooden tables and chairs that added a cosy charm. They had some tempting dessert options, but we were too full after dinner to try them — definitely something for next time! Highly recommend this place for its great food and atmosphere.
Saumya S — Google review
Fantastic location over looking the beach with views on a good day of France. The staff are really lovely and very attentive. The only let down was the food and the high cost. Two starters, a prawn salad consisting of a couple of lettuce leaves, a couple of bits of other stuff and a hand full of prawns, a beer and a mocktail for old people. A portion of over cooked sea bass on quite crispy chips, a chicken burger, two beers and two medium glasses of house white for two younger people, cost £144 + . But of course being the only food outlet in this fantastic location because the others close before the night crowd get home from work , they can! So do go there, stay off the very over priced wine and have a sandwich from the outside stall and enjoy the view. Our of course take a picnic.

Really great fresh food and very filling. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly staff and enjoyed our food in a relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I had dinner at The Harbour Inn in Folkestone last night and sadly, I left feeling disappointed. While the food itself — a burger and fish & chips — was fine and tasted okay, the portion size compared to the price was shocking. My burger arrived with what looked like a very small portion of chips, and for £17, I genuinely thought I had been given a child’s meal by mistake. Absolutely not good value for money. The staff were very friendly, which I appreciated, but the overall service left much to be desired. We decided to order dessert, but it took 40 minutes to arrive. When it finally came, it was clear it had been sitting for a while — the ice cream had melted and the custard had gone cold. It really felt like we were forgotten about. Sadly, I won’t be returning anytime soon. There are plenty of other places in Folkestone where you can get better value and faster service.

Seafood restaurant
Bar
British restaurant
Rocksalt Restaurant offers a chic and modern dining experience with floor-to-ceiling glass and a terrace overlooking the harbor. Chef James Pearce, previously from nearby Rocksalt, showcases the best of Kent's seafood on the menu. Diners can enjoy Blackwater Estuary oysters prepared in various ways, along with an array of snacks to complement their natural-leaning wine list. The mains feature delectable options such as monkfish with white miso or cod in vodka batter.
Right on the harbour in Folkestone, Rocksalt Restaurant has a stunning location. The blue of the sea in the website photo is no exaggeration - certainly not on the day we were there anyway. With the glass doors pulled wide open, we had a beautiful view of the harbour. Public parking was conveniently available over the road from the restaurant. We found the service to be friendly and efficient, perhaps a bit slow towards the end, but the restaurant had got busier by that time. It is a very popular place. The food and drink was very good. We all had different dishes and we all enjoyed the food a lot. The bill for five of us - and most of us had three courses - came in at about £50 a head including service.

Amazing food with a view. The fish and chips is amazing, huge portions, the tartar sauce and the mushy mint peas very delicious. The staff very friendly and the price is low for the quality you get. The view of the harbour is absolutely amazing even though it was low tide when we were there. Definitely will go again when in the area.

Lunch yesterday was (as usual) absolutely faultless! Food is a gastronomic delight - fish so fresh, it almost swims onto your plate and all served by friendly, polished and attentive staff. Warm and lively atmosphere and the setting is, even on a dull afternoon, breathtaking. Special mention to Lazlo, one of the restaurant managers, whose friendly and professional manner wouldn't be out of place in a London 5* restaurant. Thank you for making our day!

My family used to live in Folkestone about 8 years ago, and my parents went to Rocksalt a couple of times back then and found the service slow and unhelpful, and the food of mediocre quality. Returning last week, we found that not much had changed. We were greeted by a young server who showed us to our table and took our drinks order - she was pleasant, but did not know much about the drinks options (we later saw others with cocktails, though this was not an option given to us; she also wasn't aware of the spirits options). I don't blame her as she was clearly young and inexperienced, but her lack of training and knowledge reflects very badly on the restaurant, especially as she was the first face we saw. We were also placed at a table right next to the door, where a chilly breeze was blowing in, and despite the restaurant being half empty our request to be moved was denied (several tables remained empty until we left a couple hours later). This was baffling and did not set a great tone for the night. The presentation of the food was very prettily done, and the fish was very fresh, but for the prices, the dishes themselves are very average - nice enough, but nothing special or exciting. We had come to Rocksalt for my sister's birthday, but other than a "happy birthday" at the door, no effort was made to make the night feel special - no rapport with the staff, no recommendations of dishes. When the meal finally ended, they brought out a plate with "happy birthday" written in chocolate sauce and a single, tiny scoop of raspberry sorbet. They hadn't even bothered to add her name (or even ask for it), nor inquire at any point what sort of flavours she might like (she doesn't like raspberry and would've honestly preferred a simpler flavour like vanilla or chocolate). A very poor performance, considering the supposed calibre of the restaurant. Overall, disappointing but not surprising. I'm honestly astounded at how many good reviews this place has, considering that amongst Folkestone natives and locals it is regularly avoided.

My husband & I had a Sunday roast. I had belly of pork cooked to perfection my husband had beef. Everything was delicious. The service was efficient, professional and polite. We throughly enjoyed our visit and food would definitely recommend.

Unfortunately food was very bland and cold, very expensive, and we waited 1.5 hours for the food to be brought out. No one asked us how the food was, otherwise we would have told them, but started eating as we were so hungry. Beautiful view and good location though. Overall, massive disappointment - should have checked the review before hand, as recently they have received many reviews similar to mine. Advice, go somewhere else - you'll get much better food at a fraction of the price.

Location is beautiful - such amazing views across the Channel. The food was delicious - we had the scallops and prawns to start, the lemon sole and the skate and then the fondant for dessert - I’d highly recommend them all. The atmosphere is perfect which a luxurious yet relaxed dining experience. Personally, I loved how accommodating they were to our toddler. An amazing child’s menu but the staff were also just so helpful - Emma was absolutely wonderful. Thank you for such a lovely evening; we can’t wait to come back!

We had booked a big important birthday family celebration for 10. Having been to the restaurant before, we were looking forward to the a la carte dining in front of the panoramic windows with top notch food and service, as always, at a seafood restaurant. I called the restaurant to book, confirmed my credit card for the reservation. When we arrived, we were seated outside the main restaurant in ‘the garden’ which offered us drinks in paper cups and a limited bbq menu. A completely different vibe to what we expected and had hoped for. I spoke to the staff and explained this and asked for their help to elevate the experience. There was no space indoors in the main restaurant. We had agreed that they would swap out paper cups for proper glass and that we would be able to order from the a la carte desert menu at the end of the meal. Not perfect, but a possible solution. Here are some of the issues which occurred after this: - the cups (which were also flying everywhere in the wind) were not swapped out till I spoke to the staff again 40 mins later - the cutlery was placed on the table in a chewed up Tupperware box and stayed there through the meal - the food which we largely enjoyed, came out at completely different times which we weren’t warned about - the kids’ cheeseburger didn’t have any cheese - most people had finished their mains when the kids’ hot dog and sides finally arrived - from an order of three drinks (wine and two beers) only two arrived - the table next to us had ordered from the a la carte menu despite us being told that we could only have bbq mains - the waitress/manager came up to apologise and offer us drinks, but did it very loudly and to the whole table. I had tried to address all issues with the staff away from the table not to break up some sense of celebration and wished she had offered us the same courtesy I can see the staff were trying, but the bbq kitchen could clearly not come with a large table. The staff were pleasant but not completely experienced. We did get a bottle of wine and a couple of beers on the house as a gesture, but sadly it didn’t give us back any semblance of the experience we were expecting and had the pleasure of having in the past.

Nestled in the charming Old High Street, Steep Street Coffee House is a cozy gem perfect for a rainy day. Stunning book cafe in a beautiful street in one of the most charming towns in England. Friendly staff and good customer service. However the place is too busy, loud and feels a bit cramped. The coffee was good but the cake was extremely small in size and hugely overpriced. The heart cake was too tough and way too sweet for my liking personally.

I really loved this café, super cozy and charming. The croissant was just okay and the jam was a bit basic, but the coffee was very good, and extra points for the salted butter. Overall, the atmosphere is so warm and inviting that it makes the whole experience lovely.

Loved this hidden gem in Folkstone.. coming from London wasnt expecting such a chic cafe in here, lovely vibe, lovely cakes and great coffee. Although they dont have many options for food but I guess they focus more on the cakes and coffees. We visited here on a weekend and loved their food vibe so kuch that we came back next day and had some food as well which we did not like. Cakes and coffees were on point. Their coffee menu is so versatile. Highly recommend. Staff is really friendly and welcoming.

I was happy to finally visit the Steep Street Coffee House. I like the decor with all the books around the rooms. Customers can buy books if they find one that interests them. I found the place a bit cramped and it is a busy place. It is a dog friendly establishment but some people might feel uncomfortable if there are too many pets around. We had a lovely hello from one little dog which didn't disturb us. The coffees, chocolate cake and lemoncream croissant were delicious. I certainly would like to try more of the pastries, etc on another visit. The service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice coffee but the "goat's cheese tart" was not good - was just pastry with a bit of dry bubbled egg on top (less than one forkful's worth) and some onion marmalade, not at all what I expected for £6-odd. The quiche was a bit bland but better after adding salt, not worth £8-odd. The brownie was ok but the corner piece they gave me was tiny. Nobody asked if we enjoyed. They were about 60% full. Shame because the vibe is lovely.

The fact that the place is always full and there is a long queue tells you everything you need to know about the quality of drinks/food and service. Suitable for a quick take-away, a study session or a catch-up with friends, the Steep Street Coffee House is a staple in Folkestone and we have been coming here for years. Only a 5min walk away from the sea, 10mins from the bus station and surrounded by craft, clothing and music shops it is a perfect place for a cup of coffe and a bite to eat.

Chummys Seafood Stall is a popular family-run business located in Folkestone, known for serving the best shellfish dishes. The stall offers a mix of modern adaptations like deep-fried chili prawns and traditional favorites such as jellied eels and mussels. While enjoying their freshly cooked cod and chips, visitors can sit under covered tables overlooking the sea with cold beer. The menu includes fresh and affordable shellfish options like dressed lobster and jellied eels.
Highly recommend here for fish and chips, biggest battered fish I’ve ever seen, freshly fried and comes in a cardboard box. I think you could share as a two because there’s a lot of chips in the box, and order some other snack things off menu to try. They have sweet chilli sauce, salt and pepper you can help yourself. The squid tentacles in my opinion was very average, probably pickled and does have a better texture than stir fried, a bit lacking in flavour. I saw scallops bacon baguette from distance, looks very tasty.

Overpriced tourist trap, beware! The worst fish and chips I’ve ever had, soggy batter, tasteless cod, skinny kebab shop fries. The lobster roll tiny and cost £12, it was finished in 2 bites and the lobster was dry.

Fast seafood 😋 and yummy. I wasn't hungry but I couldn't help myself getting oysters which were yummy. I saw nice seafood sandwiches. Fried noddles with king prawns ( really big prawns. King prawns in the supermarkets are much smaller) looked great. If I was hungry they would be my choices.
Meltem K — Google review
The seafood might look good on display but they tasted so blend… Cod was also blend, the batter outweigh the fish. Only good thing here was the chips Squid and lemon and chilli prawn all replied on the seasoning, the squid and prawn themselves have no flavour and not fresh at all Prawn cocktail was up to standard Long queue but truly a big disappointment We waited more than 20 mins for 3 things only. Felt like a tourist trap :(

Very disappointing experience at Chummy's in Folkestone. The staff were arrogant and rude, making the whole visit uncomfortable. The food was no better – the cod and chips were greasy, bland, and seriously overpriced. Worst of all, the oyster was clearly not fresh, which is completely unacceptable from a seafood vendor. There are other seafood options in Folkestone – I strongly recommend trying those instead. If you have a choice, go anywhere else but here. Avoid this place.

Brewing Brothers Beachside is a popular spot for food and drinks, offering wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas with buffalo mozzarella, courgette, and puntarelle as a standout option. The place has a stunning terrace location on the beach, making it perfect for enjoying the sunset while indulging in oysters, battered cod cheeks, or spiced Folkestone Huss.
It was a lovely weekend out on Saturday in Folkestone. During beach walk just ending up where found this place. Always feel thirsty for a beer so here I am. Beautiful location at the Harbour side at Old railway tracks. Very friendly and cheeky staff. Helpful to find a table. A lot of tap mean good selection of craft beer. More variety in fridge. Had couple of drinks then next table pizza smell just push me to order my one 😂. So had delicious pizza which I wasn't expecting. Very calm and relaxing atmosphere with light music. Plenty of seats inside and outdoor at beach side. Definitely coming back and recommend this place.

* edit to owner’s response the are zero signs saying cash only I ask the young lad that was serving and he shrugged his shoulders the are no signs saying cash only a awful response to a genuine review. Nice friendly service with really nice drinks unfortunately I can’t go back as they don’t accept cash I understand the owners can choose whatever payment method the want but they really should put a sign on the door or at the point of sale card only …. It’s very frustrating having to leave a queue to borrow a card of someone and re join the queue to be made to be feel you have done something wrong with trying to pay with cash

Folkestone Harbour Arm is such a wonderful place! It has a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxing day out with family. We really enjoyed walking along the pier, soaking up the fresh air and peaceful vibe. It feels so charming and full of life at the same time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Folkestone – it’s ideal for families and for anyone who loves spending time by the sea.

The Folkestone Harbour along with the Lighthouse is an iconic attraction for anyone visiting Folkestone. The place has a long history dating back in the 1900s. The photos along with the valuable information speaks a lot. The Harbour area was quite windy when we visited yesterday but Sun came out later and calmed the environment. There is an entertaining promenade with live music and food cafes along with good seating arrangements. A place worthy to visit in summer.

What an amazing place to spend a few hours (or maybe a full day). Absolutely loved what had been done with a disused railway station. There are some great bars eateries, offering exceptional views across the English Channel.

The harbour arm has been 'done up' and is very nice. There are lots of independent small market shops and places where you can eat and drink, a bit like Christmas Market huts. There is a big outdoor TV screen fir watching sports etc. Not sure whether all this is seasonal abd just maybe weekends out of season? But there are other places such as the very nice bar by the lighthouse, and a small brewery pub that I should imagine stays open more regularly. There is also a few fair rides. The views of folkestone are lovely from here too.

Enjoyed a lovely walk from Lower Leas car park along the promenade & boardwalk to the harbour arm. Here we stopped at the Champagne bar in the old lighthouse. Well worth a visit, nice cocktails and yummy charcuterie.

I adore Folkestone Harbour. The views are absolutely stunning, if you're visiting Folkestone, you simply cannot miss the Harbour Arm. Plenty of independent traders offering a great range of foods and drinks, there's truly something for everyone. Lots of different events and entertainment on throughout the year... I could go on and on!

My first visit to Folkstone to explore the colorful Artist Quarter. Lovely coffee shops open on a Sunday morning, already buzzing with people! Colours of painted shop fronts were joyful and welcoming as I walked down old High Street to the Harbour. Spectacular views east to fishing fleet and chalk cliffs. Beautiful tulips planted in a memorial garden. I loved this visit to Folkstone!

I visited Folkestone and found it to be a charming seaside town with a nice mix of history, coastal views, and places to relax — the harbor area is great for a stroll, and it’s a pleasant spot to enjoy the sea atmosphere.

Sunny Sands in Folkestone is a bustling beach area that offers swimming, kayak rentals, sunbathing, and local seafood shacks. This small but perfectly formed sandy haven features brick alcove constructions for refuge from sudden rain and a long promenade for leisurely strolls. Situated next to the town and harbor, it provides both commercial amenities and picturesque views of boats coming in and out of the harbor.
Love this place. You can sit peacefully on the sand and watch the harbour arm from the beach, a very nice kiosk near the beach where you can buy drinks, ice creams and beach accessories for children. Just remember to check the tide times as the beach disappears during high tides

A nice sandy beach, with toilets available and a cafe. Also very close by you have ice cream, seafood and fish and chips. No parking near the beach but plenty of parking around with a small walk. Life guards during busy periods. What more do you want from a day at the beach.
Donna M — Google review
Nice sunny beach but best to check tide levels and avoid going peak hours on weekends. Plenty of parking available then.
Puchu — Google review
One of our favorite sandy beach to go to, have visited couple of times this summer. The vibes, not too much crowded which is best, calm and nice sandy beach to go with kids.
Ruby S — Google review
A beautiful day out but really struggled with finding parking for non-residents till we found the big car park by the Harbour. Stony beach and plenty of space for children to play and run around. A lovely sunny day so we managed to enjoy some dip in the clear blue water beach which was lovely. When it came time to have dinner most places in the food court had run out of fish and chicken so be sure to get there early so you’re not disappointed. There are a variety of food vendors so a mix of cuisine from traditional British to Korean, Mexican, American etc. Toilet facilities available by the beach and food court area which are clean.

Sandy Sands Beach has that perfect summer holiday vibe. The atmosphere is super chill, and the locals are friendly.

Visited here after seeing beautiful sands. Absolutely beautiful.

Amazing beach! However, it’s best to visit after 2.00 pm when the tide goes out, as it’s very crowded and space is limited before then. Allow extra time for parking — it’s chaotic to find a space and the fees are quite expensive.

Tapas restaurant
Spanish restaurant
El Cortador Tapas Bar is a vibrant and unpretentious eatery in Folkestone, offering a variety of small Spanish meat and seafood tapas plates alongside a selection of wine and beer. This long-time stalwart has been serving classic tapas and sherry, providing an authentic and enjoyable experience that is far from tired. The menu features varied, authentically Spanish dishes that are freshly made from classic recipes, all served in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Absolutely fantastic tapas restaurant! ALL of the staff were incredible and even helped me embarrass my partner, by getting the whole restaurant to sing happy birthday to him (at my request) Cannot fault the food or service, best tapas we have had in a long time, and my partner is Spanish! We cannot wait to visit again! Just make sure you book, as they book up very quickly and now we know why!!! 5*****

The dining experience was very nice featuring excellent food and significantly improved service. It’s an ideal spot for enjoying a small bite to eat along with a glass of wine as you head out to a gathering or celebration. This place truly enhances the journey to any party!

We had an amazing couple of visits here recently on a holiday to Folkestone. Extremely friendly staff and an excellent set of dishes and drink options. They were amazing at helping when I experienced a diabetic hypo and also in amending the specials so that I could have them with my vegan diet (and there were a lot of choices on the menu for vegan diets!). My mother is gluten free and had plenty of options on the menu. We visited for a dinner and also at lunch time. There’s an excellent atmosphere and it’s located in a vibrant and safe environment. What made our trip special was the staff - they were beyond amazing and I can’t wait to go back next visit.

Went for dinner here mid week and hadn't been for a while. The tapas food is still delicious 😋 really good quality ingredients, fresh and cooked perfectly. The service is efficient and the atmosphere is great too. It's a great little spot halfway up yhe high street and it's not too busy. We had various dishes including the chicken skewers, sizzling king prawns in garlic and chilli (yum!), peppers, patatas bravas and a few others too. Great price, lovely wine selection and would recommend!

Very awful experience and those who are against racism please avoid these place as they serve food by seeing your skin colour and not by their hotel reservations. The guy (middle aged wears specs) as he desperately didn’t allow me to have food in this place. This was my story as I walked into the restaurant on Saturday afternoon around 1pm and the place wasn’t too busy as I can see empty tables around and the guy who was standing near the till told me that they can’t serve me and said that it’s fully booked for the day and I asked him if I can have takeaway and he still refused saying that they don’t have license to serve takeaway food. He was trying to make me leave the place as I was just asking when is the best time to book for reservations and he said that he is not sure and ignored me. As I can see empty tables there I came out of the restaurant and called the restaurant number from google and asked them if I can bookings for two persons and the lady staff said yes and offered me a table within half an hour. This was my experience and I was really offended by the guy’s behaviour

The best tapas I’ve had and I’ve had a lot !! Great food, great service & overall great everything!! The Espresso martini is a must have. Staff are so welcoming, looks like they have a very close knit happy team which says a lot about how great this restaurant is. The food comes out steaming hot. They could charge double on each dish and it would still be worth the money. I can’t say enough good things about this place I would travel to Folkestone just to come back!!

Authentic Spanish tapas. Living in Spain I can say all the homemade tapas is divine. It’s a must go to spot in Folkestone.

Today my husband and I had a lovely celebration lunch here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Food was very delicious with outstanding flavours and freshly prepared. Ambience sitting in the little court yard garden was peaceful and relaxing. Staff and service was super friendly and helpful. They had even paid special attention yhat it was our anniversary and offered a desert to share on the house. This was a lovely gesture and a nice touch. Lovely little gem of a resturant.

Restaurant
Luben's Pizza has made a significant mark in Folkestone as the pioneer of vegan cheese on their pizzas, offering a unique saucy texture rather than the traditional stretchy kind. For those craving more plant-based options, they also provide vegan pepperoni sourced from local favorite Sister Seitan. Beyond pizza, Luben delights with a rich vegan mac n cheese and an inventive salad that goes beyond basic greens.
My family and I had an Amazing evening at Luben’s Pizza!! We got a selection of pizza’s and a pasta Carbonara dish! Everything was delicious! There is such variety in the menu in terms of food and also a variety of alcoholic drinks. We have eaten at Luben’s countless times and never had a bad experience here!! The staff are lovely, making sure all our dishes were to our liking, as well as being accommodating to our dietary requirements (requesting alterations with a chosen dish)!! The atmosphere is lively and has a well-decorated interior.

Had huge expectations from the wonderful reviews but was displeased by the experience. Pizzas were burnt at the bottom although we ordered Napolitana pizza which should not be that charred. My little one ordered Mac & cheese and that came in piping hot skillet but centre if the dish was absolutely chilled.. we sent it back and it came back with stretchy cheese. Did not like the taste of the food at all. Have had pizza in multiple places all around the world and wasn’t impressed with this one. Their loo’s have such interesting taps.. unfinished raw lol dont know if thats a style or just cost cutting. Thank you so much for your service.

Popped in with my wife for lunch. Lovely surroundings and very good service. The waitress was really friendly and nice. The pizza was great and the mac and cheese very good. Smashing coffee too. Please open a branch in Sidcup

Their pizza has a truly Italian style, which I really liked. I did feel it was a little overcooked — slightly too burnt for my taste — but it was still authentically Italian. The tiramisu was delicious! The only real disappointment was the long wait; we had to wait about 50 minutes for the pizza. The good news is that it was half-price today, so that helped make up for it.

Did the bottomless pizza+beer. 10/10 experience. Pizzas are huge. Rapid service. You’re allowed half/half pizzas too. Never an empty glass. Even offered to wrap up our leftovers to take away. Will be booking again very soon - definitely worth it.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch here - the pizzas were excellent with great sourdough bases and generous toppings, while the mac and cheese was amazing! The service was prompt and friendly and it was good value overall.

Pizzas (4 of ours) were burnt and smelled really bad, but they did not accept it and said it is normal!!! The veggie with humus came without humus and they said ee ran out of humus! Also the kid’s pasta was FULL of tomato sauce!

Had pizzas here after a couple of 2 for 1 cocktails at Rocksalt on a Thursday between 5 and 7pm. The pizzas here have got to be some of the best I've had. The dough is sourdough and was cooked to perfection in the 400c pizza oven. Service was superb as we expected to be waiting for a while as there was a large corporate party in at the same time with 50 or so diners! Great place, great people, will do it again. The bar is quirky too, like a table with beer pumps on it 😁

Space Bar & Kitchen is a quirky and lively bar and dance club located at the top of the Old High Street in Folkestone. It offers a unique experience with silent discos, pop-up food collaborations, and an extensive selection of house and techno music. The venue also boasts a large courtyard at the back and has recently obtained a license extension until 2:30 am. Additionally, Space Bar has expanded its offerings by opening space2stay, providing accommodation for two.
Dan and his team provided a last minute venue, due to the pier being closed because of high winds, for nearly 40 people for my sister in laws 40th b.day, plus still open for members of the public. The whole evening was throughly enjoyable and completely seamless. Huge thank you. 😊 Highly recommend. 👌

This ain't london! £7 for a Hoffmister, proper taking the piss. Your not realising that if you keep it £5.50 - £6.00 people will stay and have a couple at least, but the moment you hear £7 your off. Foolish

My son turned 10 and The Space Bar pizzas are his absolute favs! We were able to book out the whole bar for 30 of us including 13 of my sons friends! To have an hour & half of fun games & delish pizzas! The manager & barmaid were delightful, helping at every opportunity they could! They played a playlist suited to the party & put their disco lights with disco ball on for the whole time too! They made a personalised menu board for the kids & made them feel like grown ups allowing them to order their own pizzas and drinks! They added ice-cream as a desert too. We had a few coeliac guests and one dairy intolerant and these were served the same quality pizzas suiting their needs 😊 If Space Pizzas are a favourite of your family I 100% Recommend getting in touch to book for a special occasion.

This was a lovely place to pass the time on a sizzling spring afternoon. The tunes and vibe reminded me of sunny days in Ibiza. Shame we couldn't hang out longer now that we have a toddler and dog on tow but they also felt very welcome here. Lovely clean toilets too.

This bar has a great, joyful atmosphere! Its very vibey and the noise level is just right. I stayed at the AirBnB room they have attached to the bar - this was also very clean, private, felt super safe, and they provided me with milk for tea/coffee in the morning. It was the perfect space for my solo journey to Folkestone!

For no reason I've walked past this place for too long! Randomly went in to have a look around and stayed for a quick drink! Saw one of the pizzas come out and looked and smelt lovely and will definitely go back to try them. Nice beer selection and one of the best looking garden areas in Folkestone!
Mr K — Google review
I really like this place! It's different, it's quirky, it hits the "this is why Folkestone is a great place to visit " nail, right on the head. Yes the cocktails are expensive, but you tell me a place where they aren't, plus, you don't have to drink cocktails *other drinks are available!" You pay your money and you make your choice. The place has a great atmosphere and caters to all age groups, I've always found a very eclectic crowd in the place and unlike one of the other reviewers, I've always found the staff to be friendly and attentive. Josh, the barman, in particular. He pays attention to his customers and goes out of his way to make sure they're happy - on our last visit he asked us all our names, so we'd no longer be anonymous. That kind of service makes you feel welcome. We really like the place. Oh and in the summer the garden is open too, with music... and the atmosphere extends out there. On another note it used to be a record shop, that I happened to manage for a number of years - there's a commemorate plaque outside on the wall. So it was a great record shop and now it's a great bar..there must be some positive force in the bricks and mortar!

Little Rock Folkestone is a charming dining destination that captures the essence of Mediterranean vibes with its palm tree-lined terrace and stunning sea views. Nestled in a repurposed shipping container at an old railway station, this inviting restaurant boasts contemporary decor and a warm atmosphere. Seafood lovers will delight in the fresh offerings, including local specialties like Kentish huss and Dover sole, alongside unique dishes such as pale-ale-battered cod cheeks.
Went here for a special occasion and it was very good. There was a good selection of seafood in the catch of the day and the general menu is good. The prices are not too bad for a seafood place situated so close to the shore. The service was excellent and can't be faulted, it made the visit even better... Thanks The Huss curry was excellent and portion size was just right. The Skate wing was a little over cooked, so next time I will have it grilled and not pan- fried. All in all, a great little place, don't be put off by the whole shipping container thing, it's comfortable inside. Definitely recommend and will visit again.

We went to Little Rock 2 weeks ago and it was overall a good restaurant. Food and service was great It gets busy quickly so better book or walk in early The highlight for us was the catch of the day which well cooked and the prices were reasonable Main disappointment were the scallop though. 3 small scallops for £17 as a starter is a bit too much

Staff is very helpful and kind. The food was very good. My fish doesn’t have any sauce as I asked for due to my allergies. The staff made sure that all my food requirements are met. The atmosphere was very nice as well. We will definitely come back.

Had a wonderful birthday lunch here and even though it was wet and windy outside it was super cosy inside. A stunning location right on the seafront. The food was delicious and so well cooked. I had the catch of the day plaice, my niece had soft shell crab and partner had cod cheeks. Super chocolate brownies according to the kids. Downside they forgot our starters but were very apologetic. Turned out we really didn’t need starters, main course and desert was plenty. Slightly stingy on portion sizes for chips and salad but all delicious. The kids eat free was such a good offer as with 3 kids and 3 adults it worked out well. Service was excellent and so was the atmosphere - relaxed but very special.

If you are looking for a quality food on the beach! Fresh fish prepared with attention, not overloaded with sauces so that you can really taste its. Great oysters too for the season.

Super informal, bistro-style restaurant bordering on the stoney beach to the South Side of Folkestone's harbour arm. There is plenty of internal and shaded external seating. All aspects of service were excellent, from seating, to order taking, to food presentation right through to clearing and presentation of the bill. There is a limited seafood-based menu which we found to offer plenty of choice and allowed for speedy service. All the plates, dishes and glassware are themed in same nautical white and blue which is a nice touch. Cutlery is of a good standard too. Our dishes of pale ale battered cod cheeks were very good and extremely well presented. The fish was tender, tasty and fresh and the pale ale batter was crisp and delicious, not at all oily. The home-chipped potatoes were among the best I've tasted anywhere. This was our first visit and we'd most definitely return. A great new find.

Marleys is a cozy and stylish bistro known for its seasonal menu featuring burgers, homemade dishes, and weekend brunch. It's advisable to make a reservation as the place tends to get fully booked. The restaurant offers a unique experience by reserving tables with guests' names spelled out in Scrabble tiles. Their breakfast menu includes vegan options like bacon from local supplier Sister Seitan, along with other delicious items.
My wife & me went to Marleys last night after a lovely sunny day in Folkestone & we are SO glad we did. The staff on arrival were so welcoming & very personable, the atmosphere is very calm & we loved the feel. Our table was cosy & nicely spaced apart for a romantic meal. It's great they support local businesses & the Biddenden's red wine was very quaffable! We both had the Marley's burger & it was the best we have ever had. The toilets were like a spa & overall we were delighted that we ate here. Its a must to go to & we will be back. Thank you to everyone at Marleys for making us special memories of a wonderful meal. X

I've been meaning to come to Marleys for a while, it's been on the list for ages so the anticipation and expectation were high. Finally made it in late Feb25, I was being healthy but my bro was with me to balance it out. Went for pork belly and calamari starters. Man do we love pork belly, it's one of my faves, always a must try if it's on the menu - they didn't disappoint, perfectly cooked, juicy and crunchy, so so good. The Calamari is on every menu these days and shouldn't be hard to nail, but it was chewy/overcooked, coating was tempura light and it didn't keep together - a shame. The mains saved the day and were all round winners, we love them them burgers, bro was very impressed with it. And I was very happy with the duck, cauliflower puree, kale were cooked perfectly and delicious. It was finished with excellent accoutrements (shallots, berries, pomegranate), with tangy shots of flavour complimenting and lifting the other flavours. A nice vibe, and service was nothing short of excellent - nailed the attentive and friendly balance. Expensive, a bit, delicious a lot. Look forward to returning.

Decided to visit after a long hike. We hadn't made a booking but the hostess was professional and welcoming, offering us a table. Service was quick, friendly and flawless. We both had the Pork Belly on creamy mash and it was to die for. Cooked to perfection. Most, if not all, dishes seem to have a gluten free option, which was welcomed. I'm 100% going to visit again to treat my partner. The atmosphere is really intimate and chilled so perfect place for a date night.

Nice brunch spot in Folkestone. We visited on a Sunday lunch time and were greeted by friendly staff and we didn’t have to wait for a table. Our food arrived fairly quickly but our coffees arrived after our food. We both opted for Marleys Brekkie which was good but did feel a little overpriced. I would return to try the pancakes, they looked delicious!
