The Council Tower is a must-visit in Sibiu! Located right in the heart of the Old Town, it's easy to find and the perfect starting point for exploring. The tower is perfectly situated between the two main squares, Piața Mare (Great Square) and Piața Mică (Small Square). Its ground-floor passage connects the two, making it easy to access.

A lovely tower that perfectly fits the vibe of the square. The nearby streets add even more charm – those kinds of cozy alleys where you might stumble upon something interesting or at least a great café. The tower dates back to the 13th century and originally served as a defensive lookout and fire watch. Today, it's a nice spot for a short climb with beautiful views over the old town. Unexpectedly beautiful. I didn't expect to like it so much, the view is great and I loved how good the inside looked too.

For a small fee you can view a part of the beautiful city-with its gorgeous architecture. It is a little narrow climbing up the tower, so keep that in mind. I was there at the end of November and there was already a Christmas Market, but the tower isn't so crowded, the waiting time isn't more than 10 minutes (if any)

Dinner here this evening was absolutely fantastic, you could choose your main then your sides and sauces and essentially build your plate. It's easy to find, we were welcomed immediately by a friendly and funny host - lovely and accommodating staff. Desserts just as good and the whole atmosphere was very cosy. Service could not have been quicker. Everything arrived promptly. Would 100 return and recommend!! Thank you for a lovely evening.

I loved eating there, the waiters are super friendly and the traditional food is delicious. The food is super abundant, my partner and I ordered a cheese board to share as an appetizer and then our respective main courses and we couldn't finish them, We had to change it to takeout. But 100% recommended, delicious food and a very comfortable place!

Great atmosphere, delicious food and fast service. We recommend the cabbage rolls, the peasant potatoes, the tomato and onion salad and the pancakes, apple and berries pudding with ice cream. We loved the sour cherry brandy and blueberry brandy with pudding. Generous helpings. Thank you to the chef and the hard working team.

Absolutely outstanding food — from the soup to the main course and dessert, every bite was rich in flavor and steeped in tradition. The staff, dressed in traditional costumes, and the medieval “taverna” atmosphere make you feel as if you’ve stepped straight back to the early 1900s. No phone signal, no background music — just exceptional food and genuine human connection. I’d come back every time I get the chance; there are still so many dishes I can’t wait to try.

Excellent food and the quaint atmosphere of a 'cellar restaurant'. Impressively large menu. Two wait staff were very good, but lots of diner turnover meant they were very busy clearing and setting tables. Bill had to wait for a while.

We wanted to try some traditional Romanian dishes and the waiter suggested that he would just bring us some dishes. I was skeptical but he brought a great stuffed chicken dish with polenta and a pork dish that my husband loved. He didn’t overdo it, just created a lovely experience.

We were looking for an authentic place with real local food, and we found it here! Delicious traditional Romanian dishes, a friendly and welcoming staff, and reasonable prices. Absolutely recommended!

Amazing art on the inside! The church is beautiful and definitely worth visiting.

This is a whole different level. If you’re in Sibiu, this is a must. No “maybe”, no “if we have time later” – you just have to stop here. The cathedral is absolutely majestic, especially when you stand in front of those huge, ornate doors and look up – you instantly feel tiny. Inside, you’ll be embraced by the classic Orthodox vibe: gold everywhere, colorful frescoes, and the unmistakable scent of incense. The cathedral was built at the beginning of the 20th century, inspired by the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul – so it’s like a quick cultural trip across Europe. The Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral in Sibiu is breathtaking inside, with soaring domes and vibrant iconography that fill the space with color and light. The atmosphere is calm and reverent, making it a great stop to pause during a walk through the old town. Photography is allowed but best done respectfully.

This is really a stunning church to visit it is so amazing to look at all the frescoes on the walls and ceiling. It really is worth a visit even if you are not really religious. The art itself is really worth visiting for and if you want you can also go shop in an small shop near the church for some merch. There is no entry price so it is free to visit.

Very beautiful , very big and elegance decoration. I came first time at night, they already closed , exterior when light up are so gorgeous but next day try to see again still very beautiful in daylight. Interior is stunning.

Will forever be my comfort coffee shop! The food is and always has been amazing and the staff is very professional. Been there over 10 times and I can’t complain about anything. Lumos deserves the hype, you won’t regret going!

The whole experience was nice . Nice staff and the food is really tasty. If you want to eat good breakfast/ brunch is one of the best places in Sibiu . Although if you are hungry the size portion of the meal is a bit small . And the coffee was nice but the milk kinda hot. I recommend the place for a try

I love the restaurant's vibe as a whole! The food was always good honestly, nothing to complain. The crispy chicken burger is honestly my favorite by far. The staff is super sweet, the nusic is great! In the summer though, whenever there waa a heatwave, the air conditioning didn't work and it was unbearable inside and outside.

If you’re in Sibiu and looking for a place that does brunch right, Lumos Coffee & Brunch is one of the top choices. I ordered eggs Benedict, and although they initially told me they didn't have hollandaise sauce at the moment, they came back a few minutes later and asked me if I wanted to change my order, as they had received the hollandaise sauce in the meantime. I appreciated this gesture.

Stopped by for breakfast and was impressed by the variety on their brunch menu, with prices that are quite reasonable. The food is tasty, though it does get a bit heavy and even slightly overwhelming after a while, and the poached eggs were a bit overcooked. Service was slow, and we weren’t informed about the wait. The coffee was fine, and overall, despite these small downsides, this is still a brunch spot worth trying compared to other brunch spots.

Great food, great location. Service professional although one dish, for our youngest family member, arrived significantly after the others. Chicken Biryani isn't a chicken biryani, but a decent chicken curry, good Spaghetti Carbonara and good salmon salad. Seating inside or two outside locations in summer, one (with live piano music in the evenings) by the Bridge and the other, quieter, by St Mary's church. Later was a beautiful location in the summer evening and is highly recommended.

We really enjoyed Atrium for a feel of the Old Town Sibiu. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, gracious waiters. Be prepared, restroom on the second floor. Bring your phone, the trip upstairs offers a great view of the Lower Town.

A nice restaurant located in a quiet area of Sibiu. The place and drinks were lovely, especially the Socata. However, the food was a bit disappointing. We had a pizza and the risotto. The pizza was quite ok, but the risotto was quite dry and oily, not creamy as a risotto should be. I would recommend this place just for a nice drink.

A very nice local in the centre of the city. The atmosphere was romantic and relaxing with chill music and dim pleasant lights, perfect for a date night. The food tasted great and the deserts were particularly tasty. Our server Alex was very friendly and helpful, making the experience a very pleasant one. If you find yourself near the centre of Sibiu it is definitely a restaurant worth visiting.

The food was delicious but the prices were a bit high, but fair for center of Sibiu. The staff was friendly and welcoming, a bit aggressive in sales-pitch trying to sell you things that you don't really need. The food took very long time to come but it came all for the entire group, which is fine. The place is amazing and look very nice.

The place was looking fine, and the food also looked ok. But tasted really bad, the chicken seemed almost uncooked, had the texture like a sponge. I really didn't feel like eating it anymore, the potatoes were good tho, just too much salt, my lips were literally hurting. The service is fine but the waiters are kinda sad looking to be honest. Overall not satisfied and also still hungry.

I wish i could give more than just 5 stars to this place. We came in "octoberfest" and the team was amazing. Dancing drinking singing and making great atmosphere. But i am sure this not only in octoberfest. The food was so tasty so we ordered more and more. And eventually the apple pie was delicious. We came in for the great DJ, and were greeted by Aurel, who promptly seated us and took our order. The food is food and the drinks are great. I highly recommend.

One of the best fine dining experiences we've had so far. Very fine, well thought-out dishes, you can tell that a lot of thought has gone into putting the dishes together. For us (in summer), the menu focused a lot on lightness. The choice of ingredients is based on local producers. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there is a lot of explanation and interaction with the guests. It was perfect for us! 😊

An intimate fine dining experience. Every dish is explained in detail about history and the use of ingredients. We had an incredible meal and one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had. Compared to fine dining options in the US, this is very affordable for a 15 course menu - about $90 per person (for food, not including alcohol). And the wine pairing recommendations were wonderful. It was truly an unforgettable experience, cannot recommend highly enough.

I really wonder why this restaurant doesn’t yet own a michellin star . The experience was above any expectation. The food was excellent especially because it was cooked and served by 2 amazing chefs . The ambience in the location was as well very accurate and relaxing . An experience you cannot miss if you’re in Sibiu, a 10 seater restaurant run by Petra & Paul, the menu is seasonal, the focus is to reduce food waste and to be as sustainable as possible. For the food, everything was amazing, loved every dish and want to be back next time. We had an excellent dining experience. The staff was kind enough to find us a table, even on a busy Saturday evening. Despite the restaurant being quite full, the service was unexpectedly fast and efficient. The food was very flavorful—I especially enjoyed the roasted eggplant with goat cheese and nuts, while the main dishes (beef schnitzel and trout) were also delicious. We dined inside and loved the décor and atmosphere, but the terrace also looked inviting, set right by the little square outside. They also offered a nice selection of beer and wine to complement the meal.

Probably the best restaurant I’ve ever visited when it comes to value for money. Exceptional quality at a great price. Highly recommended. Come visit - thank me later! The service was great, too. I had the pork and the duck. Exceptional taste, especially the pork.

Average experience, we went for lunch. This is our third visit over the past year. The waiter was nice enough, although a bit intrusive with the questions and a bit too forced in his service. We asked for two lemonades without ice, waiter said that it is difficult to serve without ice... 🤔, I had never experienced this before. Food is average - trout salad is meh, thin strips of smoked trout, with salad and some thinly sliced bell pepper with a vinegar and olive oil sauce. The veal snitzeal was frozen and then fried. Nothing special. For dessert, the papanaşi (small portion) were definitely not traditional in any way, they were so sweet, so much added sugar that my child could not finish them, ate less than half of the portion. As for the ambiance, nothing special, kinda old furniture and design. The AC was switched off during a hot summer day.

A delightful European/local restaurant in Sibiu. The waiter was honest and provided excellent wine recommendations that perfectly complemented the flavours of the dishes. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous without being excessive.

We had a fabulous dinner here and loved it so much we came back again the next night. Lovely atmosphere, delicious food and superb service. We recommend the beef tenderloin, grilled lamb chops, the slow cooked pork and the chocolate cake and papanaşi for dessert.

I fell in love with the dumpling soup and apple pie. Every dish I tried was absolutely delicious—11/10 from me. A heartfelt recommendation!
