Home goods store

Department store
The Range in Truro is a chain retailer offering a wide range of home, garden, and leisure products, including furniture and kitchen equipment. Additionally, it houses an Iceland store with great deals on food. The store provides reasonably priced homeware goods, craft supplies, art supplies, decorating equipment, and gardening supplies. There is also a furniture department upstairs and customer toilets available. Visitors can enjoy the lovely cafe on the top floor with a good selection of food.
Set back off the road it’s easy to miss the turning and drive straight past, which I’ve done a couple of times 🤣 The Range is one of my wife’s go to places for pictures and frames. And today was no exception as she found three pictures to go in various rooms. For all your Halloween & Christmas take the lift or elevator to the first floor, it’s rammed with bits n bobs 🙂 Not one for following my wife around like a lost sheep, I went upstairs and enjoyed a lovely cup of coffee and biscuit in the cafe that is always clean and tidy, unlike some of the aisles that were full of goods waiting to be put on shelves. You’ll be pleased to know there is adequate onsite parking, which Free for the first 2hrs, thereafter there’s a charge!
Clive A — Google review
The Range has almost everything you need. Gardening, cooking, soft furnishings etc. I bought a six chaired garden set in the clearance( six high backed chairs with cushions, massive round table with glass cover). It should have been £599 but was £299. Only 2 screws missing which I had at home.
Jackie C — Google review
Nice retail outlet that covers a great range of items from DIY category to household and food stuff. I’m not sure but it seems to have absolve a part of Wilko and is also in collaboration with Iceland. The prices of items are also competitive.
Oghenehero B — Google review
Good store for all sorts of household items, pictures, mirrors, lamps, diy, electrical, tools, curtains, cushions, furniture, gardening equipment, garden furniture. really helpful staff and the prices are very reasonable. There is also a cafe but we haven’t tried that as it wasn’t open when we’ve been in. There is plenty of parking too.
Simon H — Google review
The toy department at the top of the escalator hidden by toy isles, is an accident waiting to happen. The gardening department is squeezed into a very narrow footprint, with hardly any room for a shopping trolley. Staff were abrupt and complained about being short staffed. This review would have had one star if not for a member of staff who was polite and empathetic and who went out of her way to be helpful. For her I would give 5 stars.

Porthtowan Beach is a stunning Blue Flag beach located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall. It's a popular surfing spot with large dunes and dramatic cliffs framing the area. At low tide, visitors can walk to the neighboring Chapel Porth beach. The surrounding Coast Path features reminders of the area's mining heritage and offers breathtaking sea views. Despite being surrounded by hills and cliffs, it's easily accessible for dog walkers due to its flat land at the rear.
Beautiful beach with its lovely little beach shop from april. Car park is expensive at £2.50ph (from April also,) but a lovely clean and quaint beach you can swim or walk the dogs on
Edward B — Google review
Beautiful beach sheltered from the winds by high cliff faces on either side. Well looked after by lifeguards and a few places to eat inland, plus walks up the coast, and even a rock pool built into the coastline! Gets busy in summer (as you would expect), so parking is at a premium - surf hire also available by the beach.
Harry O — Google review
This is an absolutely fantastic place. I visit here regularly. The land time forgot. The car is a 2-minute walk from the beach. They have a nice play area for children. They have nice bars, restaurants, great food, delicious ice cream, and surf shops. It is a little piece of heaven. Cheers, Vince.
Vince S — Google review
Cosy surfing spot also popular with families. In high season, it gets saturated with tourists so much so that the fish & chip shop run out of cod, and advance booking at the Unicorn is essential.
L W — Google review
A great beach to walk the dog in the off season when the tide is out. Rock pools to explore and the headland shelters you from some of the coastal breeze. Parking wasn't an issue and there seemed to be plenty of places to eat nearby.
Andy W — Google review
Lovely place to watch the sunset, nice bars and a great little beach.. dogs not allowed on the beach in the day time... evenings ok👍
Dave J — Google review
Beautiful scenery, very clean with plenty of bins provided fo4 disposal of rubbish. Some cafes and a small shop on the beach front plus pub and chip shop further up the street. Kids loved the beach and swimming in the sea. Lifeguards on duty between certain day time hours with visible presence and easy to contact. Very family friendly beach and also great for rockpooling. Looks even better when the tide is out due to more little coves to explore but amazing whatever time you visit. I haven't seen 4 teen boys who usually love computers smile that much being outdoors. There is also a clear little stream that runs over the beach and into the sea which was ideal for the kids to wash their sandy feet off on the way back to the car.
Kayleigh J — Google review
A really lovely beach with easy access from the parking lot (that is if you arrive early enough to get a spot, count on before 10 am on a sunny day). Only 4 stars because dogs are banned during the high season months, a sign in the parking lot or in town would be nice. Most beaches are dog friendly along the coast I really don’t understand why this one has to be an exception ?!

History Museums
Royal Cornwall Museum, located in Truro, is a treasure trove of art and culture. Established in 1818 by The Royal Institution of Cornwall, the museum showcases a diverse collection of over one million artifacts from around the world. Visitors can explore exhibits on minerals, wildlife, and the region's history. Notable highlights include an Egyptian mummy and the Rashleigh mineral gallery.
Highly recommend the exhibition currently running at the Royal Cornwall Museum, “Uncharted - Sea Journals of a Cornish Mariner” by artist Julia McKenzie who has created an amazing body of work inspired by her great-grandfathers sea diaries from the 1890s. The work is absolutely exquisite, the stories are incredibly moving and the history is so interesting. On until 2nd November. Plus at the RCM is the amazing new interactive Rocks and Minerals gallery.

This was our first visit, and we really enjoyed it! It’s a small but interesting museum in the heart of Truro. It took about an hour to walk through, and there was plenty to see. I really liked the old furniture and antiques. The museum is great for all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Kamagra U — Google review
I haven't been here since I was a kid when my mum used to take me and my brother every Friday after school to see the mummy! Absolutely fabulous building and is immaculate, the 80's exhibition brought back so much nostalgia 🥰 The staff were all amazing and we had a Learning Assistant come and talk to us about the paintings we were looking at, he was so knowledgeable and a credit to the team. Will definitely go back again and not leave it so long! Well worth a visit .

Superb museum, well worth a visit. Situated in the heart of town, has all the history of Cornwall, art, playing spaces for kids. Variety for everyone. Building itself is worth seeing from the inside. Highly recommend

Wow! I was surprised with this museum. It's much bigger than I was expecting. My children loved exploring all the rooms and all the old artifacts. They especially enjoyed the Egyptian area. Children were free adult about 7.50 Has a cafe so you can chill and have a coffee. Have a little wonder in the small shop
Gemma S — Google review
A nice county museum, with interesting collections, nicely presented. The building is lovely, and quite accessible. Good museum shop, with an excellent cafe.
Peter B — Google review
Quite reasonably priced to get in, manages to avoid the cluttered appearance that can bedevil museums that try to get too much out on display. Informative, concise and worth a visit. Suggest allowing 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Alex E — Google review
This museum was a disappointment. The exhibits were randomly grouped, the captions were inadequate, lacking detail, and sometimes factually incorrect. There was very little about Cornish history and quite a lot of wokeness about how awful the British empire was. The free local history museum in Bodmin is far better. Go there instead.

Located in Truro, Hub Box is a vibrant restaurant offering beachside breakfasts, loaded burgers, and dirty fries. The American diner-style eatery features colorful artwork and low-hanging lights with large glass doors providing an ocean view. Originally a pop-up in a shipping container, it has grown into a successful burger empire with locations across the southwest of England.
Super cool venue with extra tasty food inside 😋.. Converted church now churning out a fine selection of bugers and other sides, this was our first visit and initially was curious due to it being an old church. Very trendy decor, awesome 80's playlist on in the background and the staff super friendly. We enjoyed our food and drinks here and would recommend it absolutely. Kids eat free Mon - Thursday 11 - 5 pm currently, so make the most of that. Burgers were delicious, onion rings were huge and tasty, chips were awesome and the kids enjoyed theirs, job done! Thanks, Hub Box.

Exceptional. Particularly good options for low carb type 1 diabetic. How choice double cheese with no bun and salad. Excellent presentation of the food (we’ve seen some awful things in other restaurants). Well done.

I've been here twice. I'm pretty sure the first time I came, I ordered a chicken burger that didn't appear on the menu the second time around but regardless, both times, I was presented with one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Such fresh, tasty, well seasoned chicken, fried in a batter in fresh oil that left a light, airy crisp coating. Perfection. Service is on point, accomodating, super friendly and prompt. All of this whilst set in what I believe is a converted church. Heavenly indeed

Our experience here has been nothing short of exceptional, we came in for a quick bite and left with a good experience and come back to spot, service was friendly, efficient and all around 5 stars, the food was incredible exactly as described on the menu and the atmosphere was also very fun, positive and welcoming, definitely would come back!!!
James H — Google review
I visited here on the 18th June 25 at 20:00hrs and ordered the Smoky B (a brisket type burger). However what I actually got was thin strips of cold grey meat that tasted rancid, I have a feeling that there may be meat storage and hygiene issues on these premises and I have reported it to Cornwall Council. The signs were all there dirty tables, sticky floors and we should of turned around and legged it, but one of our group was insistent that we try it, rather than walk too far, this was a big mistake. Why do staff ask if you enjoy your meal and when you say no, still charge you? I paid because I actually felt sorry for the staff member, but my advice is to stay clear of this spot. If the owners of the company need to know how Brisket should be cooked they need to contact me and I will show them, it's very poor, please stay clear. the place is a disaster. Regards Shaun Kent.

Exceeded expectations, the food was absolutely phenomenal and the bathrooms were the cleanest and nicest bathrooms I’ve ever experienced in a public space! Such friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Me and my partner ordered the halloumi fries, onion rings and cheese burgers and it was truly the best burger restaurant I’ve ever been to. Best spot if you’re in Truro, will be coming back next year!

Absolutely fantastic place! The premises is well done and looks the part. The food was key for us as we had two coeliac's in our party so gluten free was important! The burgers were amazing and juicy and the gluten free buns perfect! Even better was the gluten free onion rings which are hard to get so we really appreciated it. The kids menu was great value too on top of the large portions so we all left full and happy. Couldn't recommend enough!

The Hall for Cornwall, also known as the HFC, is a renowned theatre in Truro that offers a diverse range of live performances including music, drama, dance, and comedy. Since its conversion in 1997, it has been captivating audiences with international touring productions and an annual panto. Originally Truro's Market House in the 18th century and later transformed into the City Hall, this historic venue now hosts a variety of shows from stand-up comedy to family-friendly musicals.
Staff were amazing when we came in with my mum who has lost her vision. They were very attentive and helpful. A lovely woman came up to us throughout the concert and checked in to see if there was anything they could help with. Thank you to the lovely staff working the waterboys show!!

Brilliant little venue with lots of local parking, warm friendly staff and some great acts, well worth a visit. Handy little 'spoons over the road too for those cheap pre show drinks. 😉🙂

I really enjoyed seeing a show here. As an agoraphobic I was worried but we were directed our seats, it was easy to find the toilets and exits and even though we had balcony seats I could see the stage without needing my long distance glasses. I'd happily go again, even on my own now! Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Saranne H — Google review
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the venue was very clean and well set out. There appeared to be mixed feelings of the unisex toilets, lots of comments from both men and women of how uncomfortable they felt. I am not sure I am a fan of the pre-ordered drinks being lined up on a long table with your name under, it's not clear how long they had been there, I won't be using that service again. Overall a wonderful evening was had

We went to see Derren Brown... It was fantastic.... Not allowed to say more except he blows your mind! Hall for Cornwall is a beautiful building in centre square of Truro. Will defoe go there more often. Staff friendly, organised. Shops all around you. Cathedral right there. Cobbled roads which get slippery when wet, where good walking shoes. Best way to get there is use park & ride. Cheap fares, discounts on group tickets, buses run every 15mins, loads of parking, not busy even for Saturday afternoon. It's easy to find park & ride on Google maps, takes you straight there. Had best day. Fabulous time had by all family.

It's always a pleasure to visit the Hall for Cornwall in Truro. A wonderful venue to stage some amazing plays, musicals and more. Check their website for upcoming events. I have to make a special mention for the unpaid volunteer ushers, on whom, the theatre depends. Well done ladies and gents!

Gold star to Ben from the access team for providing such helpful information on the phone & in person when I went to view the wheelchair spaces available, nothing was too much trouble. Booking is available online, in person & over the phone. The website offers wheelchair space dimensions for each seat space, which for someone like me (arctic lorry length) is much appreciated. The building itself clearly benefited from feedback from the disabled community. Large, open spaces in corridors & the cafe. Personally I would have liked to see more disabled spaces available, especially near the front of the stage, especially as this venue holds music events where the public could stand, totally blocking the view. The changing places toilet isn't the largest, but it does get plenty of green ticks for keeping the hoist fully charged, red cord hanging to ground level etc. If you like audio description with your toileting, you are in luck! My only other feedback would be to add the lift dimensions, although then Ben & I wouldn't have had such a lovely chat, who made me feel very welcome ;)

As always, a great experience. The volunteers are really helpful and the seats comfortable. Views are good from all seats

Truro Cathedral is a stunning Victorian Gothic Revival Church located in the heart of Truro, Cornwall. It was constructed in 1880 and is the only cathedral built in the UK after St Paul's in London. The cathedral boasts three spires, with the tallest reaching 250 meters high, making it one of just three cathedrals in the country to have this feature.
Very interesting and nice looking Cathedral in Truro centre. Well worth a visit and entrance is free. Nice little square with benches at the main entrance.

Fabulous cathedral, lovely stain glass, marble fonts, stunning ceilings & decor. Great display of tapestries depicting Genesis & how God created the world. Well worth a visit. Free to enter, but encouraged to make a donation.

Medieval Gothic might be preferable but for the County Town, the Victorian version works just fine. Some wonderful art treasures and connections with the past. It's the light which impresses and the private chapels. The 19th century glass is superb

Great experience at the weekend as the Cathedral had a silent disco. Three DJs light's and lazors. Also a bar for drinks. Fabulous evening. With a huge planet Mars suspended from the ceiling.

The Cathedral is great, although our visit was somewhat spoilt by the annual judges and solicitors etc awards night being set up in the main area. Loud sound check music and disco lights isn't what you expect in a church.

This cathedral is a beautiful place to visit I visited Truro Cathedral with my family this summer and was amazed by its stunning Gothic Revival architecture. The intricate stained-glass windows and tall spires created a peaceful and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The interior was beautifully maintained, and the staff were welcoming and informative. We enjoyed the quiet reflection time and the lovely surrounding area. A truly memorable visit and a must-see landmark in Cornwall.

Mandarin Garden Chinese Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its authentic Chinese cuisine and friendly service. The restaurant is known for its delicious and plentiful meals that arrive quickly and piping hot. Despite the basic decor, the food is flawless, with starters served quickly and bursting with flavor. The staff are very friendly, providing helpful tips on cooking authentic Chinese dishes at home. Additionally, they offer lunchtime specials from a diverse menu at an affordable price.
Working in the area and just visited this restaurant for the first time. Food was perfect and staff were lovely. There was no fancy decor, just great food. I travel around a lot for work and this was one of the tastiest and friendliest Chinese restaurants I have been to. One of us is a vegetarian and was happily surprised by how good the tofu was.
Tra M — Google review
I ordered a takeaway, and this is by far THE WORST Chinese I have ever had. I had sweet and sour chicken balls, chicken fried rice, pancake roll and prawn crackers. The food was tasteless except for the taste of months possibly years old oil that the chicken balls had been fried in along with the pancake roll and prawn crackers which were a shade of brown which tells me the oil has not been changed in a very long time, the sweet and sour sauce was neither it was just bland. The greasy film that the food left in my mouth was so disgusting I could not eat it. I would not recommend this restaurant £20 wasted, I’ve had better Chinese ready meals from the supermarkets for less!! DREADFUL 🤮
Sharon J — Google review
One of the best Chinese meals we’ve ever had. This restaurant has a great vibe, it’s relaxed and authentic, and the staff were really lovely and genuine. All the food was fresh and hot, and tasted amazing. The restaurant and cutlery were clean too. Would highly recommend!
Alice M — Google review
The service initially was great, until we received PINK chicken skewers as our starter. My mate ate some without realising it was pink, once he realised we were totally put off. We then were each given chicken chow mein as our main meal like we ordered however we did not feel like eating it after being served the pink skewers. To add to this, instead of refunding the whole meal, or at least everything other than the drinks, they still made us pay despite putting us totally off our food. When we reported the pink dish to the lady working there, she tried convincing us it was supposed to look like that meaning we could’ve eaten more, obviously we didn’t but she still told us it was ok to eat despite it being pink. Finally, they didn’t even apologise to us, they just blankly stared at us and argued with eachother.
Poppy H — Google review
Decent Chinese, was not disappointed. Best one we’ve had in a while. Staff were very friendly, but a little slow. The restaurant did fill quite quickly from opening, though. Reckon they could use another server or two. Overall, a fairly good experience.

We had what i can only describe as the best chinese meal we have ever had in a sit down restaurant. It was a busy Saturday evening, and yet all the food came out hot and so delicious. The standout dish of all of the food was the barbecue ribs, they were juicy succulent, and the meat (which was more than plentiful) just fell off the bone. A definetely must for anyone in the area.
Lee C — Google review
Not only was the food amazing, the service was good the people were very friendly and i had an amazing time with my family there. Contrasting the basic decour, the food in there was flawless, the starters were all served quickly and were absoloutly delicious, the vegetable roll (alongside a sweet chilli sause) was crispy and full of flavour. My main was the egg fried rice and the sweet an dour chicken, The chicken, glased in a sweet and sour sause had a ritch flavour, the chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, whilst the egg fried rice, to no suprise, was stunning, I would definitly come here again and it beats the takeaways from some other chineese resturaunts.

Bread & Butter, located in Truro, is a popular spot for brunch with its locally-roasted coffee, homemade cakes, and a variety of menu options. The cafe offers fluffy American-style pancakes with an assortment of toppings such as yogurt and berries or caramel and banana. Guests can enjoy their meal in the clean and botanical interiors or outside in the garden booths surrounded by eucalyptus, hydrangeas, and herbs.
Some of the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten! Tried the frittata and smokey beans which was also delicious. Freshly squeezed orange juice also very nice. A good range of options for little ones. They were very accommodating to us with our toddler and staff were kind and courteous. Highly recommend. We will be back soon!

A sunny spring day and a delicious stack of pancakes. Served by a friendly waitress who was happy to help. There’s not much more to say, very reasonably priced and I’d highly recommend. I would suggest booking as their seating is limited, however we managed to slip in without a booking and got lucky.

The place is beautiful! We ate the best pancakes we have ever had… the flavour combination is unbelievable (we had the yoghurt - granola and compote ones, and the apple and honeycomb ones- with bacon added on the side 😋). I had mine gluten free and you couldn’t taste the difference between them and normal ones 😱. The girls looking after us were super sweet and very helpful. Overall an amazing experience, we really enjoyed it… sadly I forgot to take pictures of the food when it came because it all looked so good we went straight in!!! But here are a few photos we took when we came in and when we left. We will be 100% back next time we are in Cornwall.

We stopped here on our visit to Truro for a quick lunch and we really liked it. They have a small cafe which serves mostly drinks and breakfast, and a take away and lunch shop on the opposite side of the street. We had lunch at the latter, and we enjoyed warm and tasty sandwich and sausage roll, as well as a salad. The man who served us was very welcoming. Very recommended for a lunch at Truro.

Came down from London for a Cornish weekend getaway and couldn’t have been happier with this cafe. Absolutely delicious pastries - the apple pork sausage was a melt-in-the-mouth. So filling and perfectly priced. Coffee was great. If you want to sit down on a weekend recommend booking as there’s not too much seating.

Had a really lovely experience at Bread and Butter! The atmosphere was great, with nice outdoor seating that made it a perfect spot to relax. The staff were super friendly and provided quick, efficient service. I ordered the ham and cheese toastie and it was absolutely delicious — perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crisp. We've had a very delicious lunch at bread and butter. We've wanted something light including salad and we've found a perfect spot! Very cosy quirky place, well worth eating at.

We used to love coming to Bread and Butter in the little cafe across the street. So we decided to check out the small cafe across the street. OMG sorry, but won't be coming again! £26.80 for 2 sandwiches and 2 very small cups of tea. On the menu board the prices are displayed...BUT in very small letters right at the bottom it states eat in prices will vary. Hmm not good enough, won't be back!

Fantastic service. Fabulous food. Wonderful service. The reception we got on arrival is beyond compare. The room is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We popped into the restaurant early on a Saturday night, and they were able to squeeze us in, we had the steak sizzlers, so tasty and filling, all the staff we friendly and accommodating.

Great for theatre dinner, quick service and generally very good food n drink (just the odd part of one dish and one cocktail that wasn’t perfect). Even got 10% off for having theatre tickets. Attentive staff

Took our Dad to Manning's for his 80th last Saturday night and wasn't disappointed. Wow. Absolutely stunning restaurant at this hotel. The food was outstanding. If I could afford to eat here each week I would. Haha. Friendly funny staff made us feel at home and kept the drinks coming. Right in the centre of Truro Cornwall this place can't be missed.

Nepalese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Truro, Kathmandu Palace is a family-run restaurant known for its warm hospitality and healthy cuisine. The Himalayan-inspired decor sets the stage for a dining experience featuring Nepalese curries and Indian favorites. Despite its slightly higher prices, the wide variety of quality food and friendly service make it a local favorite. The restaurant's subtle and refreshing Nepalese flavors, combined with its old-school Indian restaurant ambiance, create an authentic dining atmosphere.
Excellent 👌🏾 The staff were very warm and friendly. Always checking on clients to make sure they are well taken care of. The food was superb; the portions were just right and the quality was top notch. The environment was very neat and tidy with nice aromatic flavour. I would recommend this place anytime.
Oghenehero B — Google review
We were visiting Truro for the weekend and stumbled across this gem of a Nepalese restaurant. The food was packed with flavour — beautifully spiced but not overpowering. I had the chicken momo to start, which were incredible — soft dumplings with a rich tomato chutney that had just the right amount of heat. For mains, I went with the lamb bhuteko, and it was honestly one of the tastiest dishes I’ve had in a long time. Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. You can tell the staff genuinely care about the food and the experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, and everything felt very clean and well-kept. It’s not often you find Nepalese cuisine this well-executed outside of a big city — Kathmandu Palace is a real credit to Truro. Highly recommend booking ahead on weekends; it was pretty busy (a good sign!). Will definitely return next time we’re in Cornwall.
Pramod S — Google review
Really like Nepalese food so opted for a takeaway on our first night in Truro - mainly based on the reviews. We weren’t disappointed! Arrived 15 minutes before they opened, but really friendly staff still opened the restaurant early to allow my wife to order our takeaway (which we asked to be ready for an hour later as I wanted to go for a pint). Ready on our return, the food was excellent - and different (in a nice way) from Nepalese I’ve had before. So good, we had a second takeaway later on our trip. This was just as good as our first. Highly recommended.
Sally W — Google review
Tasty food, friendly staff and a welcoming place. I had the Chicken Nepal (great flavours), and tried Keema Rice, Chilli Paneer and Onion Bhaji's. The Kathmandu beer (on draught) is recommended too. All of the food was very good, and in general good portions; my only constructive feedback would be that £4.95 for just 2 onion Bhaji's was surprising, as most places you get at least 3 of 4, other than that though, good value for money. The staff where welcoming, friendly and attentive. All in all a great experience, thank you!
Matt H — Google review
Kathmandu Palace is our treat place. We always come here when we are celebrating or just needing a well earned treat. We always leave with smiles on our faces and full bellies. The food is beyond delicious. It is so fresh and the flavours are amazing. We are always welcomed like old friends (despite the hay in our hair 😁 ) The atmosphere is always happy and busy, it's so relaxed and fun in here. Cannot recommend enough! If you are planning to dine in, book!

Came here as a last resort when everywhere in St Ives was chocca and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. We got paneer makhana, aloo ghobi, veggie momos, and a veggie biryani. Everything was really excellent with friendly service to boot.
Seth M — Google review
The food was very good. Good amount of flavour which tasted authentic with good spices. Would highly recommend the tandoori fish and mixed vegetable starter great flavour and the fish melted in your mouth. For main I got the Kathmandu special and this was very good, with a mixture of very well cooked meat and good spices. Highly recommended. Couple things that would make it a 5 star is more condiments with the popadoms and more meat in my main.
Conor R — Google review
Absolutely lovely. Every plate cleared, and I think we might have eaten a tad too much. Gorgeous subtle flavours, good service, reasonable cost I can see why it's in the top ten "Indian" restaurants in the country.

Day 2

North side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with Boscawen Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Truro Bowl. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Nature & Parks
Truro, a charming Cornish city with its striking neo-gothic Cathedral and cobbled Georgian streets, offers pet-friendly pubs and cafes for a relaxing time after visiting Boscawen Park or Victoria Gardens. For more adventure, take a seasonal boat trip from Truro down the River Fal to Falmouth where dogs can explore Pendennis Castle or visit the dog-friendly Tudor castle in St Mawes.
One of the best parks I've been to. Clean & loads of swings etc for kids. 2 full size football pitches with nets up & tennis courts. Changing rooms available & a lovely cafe aswell. And the view is amazing! Feels like you're abroad, not in the UK
Ismail H — Google review
I visited Boscawen Park with my son and we had such a lovely time. The play area is excellent for children with plenty of space to run around and explore, and it felt really safe. We stopped at the café afterwards, which was welcoming and had a good selection of ice creams. The pond nearby was stunning too. So many benches with a wide variety of ducks. A truly peaceful spot to sit for a while. The whole park is well kept, friendly and a great place for families.
Grant M — Google review
The biggest drawback to this park is the sewage treatment plant just across the river which wafts it’s fragrance across the park to varying degrees throughout the day, as you may imagine this is not conducive to picnics or al fresco dining. There is a good view of the cathedral which is quite picturesque for a couple of hours around high tide when the river is full but the rest of the time it’s an expanse of slimy mud. Good tennis courts which have to be pre booked a kids play park and toilets. Parking free at time of writing but it will come as no surprise that the council propose to start charging next year (2026)
Fred N — Google review
Brilliant amount of space. Families and a mixture of ages around the grounds. Tennis courts at the end next to the car park. Cycling, football, rounders and cricket being played amongst other things. The Kelly’s Ice Cream van was serving and looked very popular. Beautiful grounds full of flowers, plants and trees. Parking around the edges.

Fab park to take the kids to, even in the rain. The cafe is warm and welcoming, coffee is just what you need on any given day and the food is yummy too. Toilets are accessible which is a bonus.

Nice park, even has a disability swing. Beautiful, well kept duck pond over the road next to the cafe behind the park. Paths at the back lead up to a wood walk

We’ve been in Cornwall for 4 nights and had dinner here twice! An amazing and delicious seafood restaurant: excellent cooking and very fresh seafood itself. The flat iron steak is great as well. very friendly and attentive service, highly recommend!

I walked in during dinner time, and although there were no available tables, the staff kindly offered me a seat at the bar table. I ordered scallops, mussels, and king tiger prawns as starters—all of which were fresh and delicious. For the mains, I had the mushroom truffle pasta and the fish of the day, which was John Dory. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. Highly recommend!

Hooked: A Welcome Return and Delightful Dining Experience We recently revisited Hooked after a few years, and we were pleasantly surprised by the changes! The interior has been redesigned, with the open kitchen relocated to expand seating capacity. Despite the changes, the staff remain as helpful and welcoming as ever. We were particularly grateful to see the addition of a ramp at the entrance and an easily accessible disabled toilet, which was very helpful as my wife recently had foot surgery. For starters, we both enjoyed the delicious mussels. Hooked was incredibly accommodating, preparing my wife's portion with a dairy-free sauce due to her intolerance, and it was still absolutely delightful. Our main courses were the fish curry and the shellfish platter for one. Both dishes were lovely, and the shellfish platter offered a generously sized portion. My only minor quibble was the slight messiness of de-shelling the large prawns. The bread served with our meal was light and tasty, though we found the sea salt a little too prominent for our preference. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal, and we found the prices to be reasonable. It's also worth noting that Cornwall Pard cardholders receive a 15% discount. Thank you, Hooked, for a wonderful dining experience! .

We had a very lovely dinner here. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The highlight for us was finding Hake Kiev on the menu – as Ukrainians, it was such a joy to enjoy this dish away from home, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!

The food was so tasty, I had the Hake Kiev which was really good and tasted so fresh. Overall a great experience and will definitely be returning.

Had the most wonderful meal here with my wife and daughters during a holiday in the area. The service was fantastic and the place was buzzing despite it being early evening (6pm). The food was quite simply incredible. The crab soup I had was divine and the seafood platter (shared between my wife and eldest daughter) was filled with delicious and fresh delights. The mussels I had were some of the biggest I've ever seen (and delicious) and the service we received was exceptional - they couldn't have done more for us. One of the best meals we've had at a restaurant for a very long time. If you're in the area, see if you can get yourself a reservation. If you like seafood... I can't imagine you'd regret it.
Markus W — Google review
The good stuff first: The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and everyone we interacted with seemed to care about making our visit pleasant. The atmosphere was lovely—inviting, nicely lit, and perfect for catching up over a meal. The not-so-good: Unfortunately, the food fell flat. Dishes arrived looking great, but the flavors were disappointingly bland. At one point, I found myself instinctively reaching for the salt… only to realize there wasn’t any on the table—which honestly summed up the experience pretty well. On top of that, portions were small, especially for the steep prices. Bottom line: Go for the friendly service and cozy vibe. Just don’t expect to be wowed by the food—or to leave completely full

The Cornish Vegan is a cozy cafe located in Truro, Cornwall, offering a variety of globally inspired comfort foods made entirely vegan. The owners, Rob and Graham, who are also vegan, take pride in using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients to create their delicious dishes and cakes. Whether you're craving mac n sheese or gluten-free tofu katsu, this restaurant has something for everyone.
Incredible place run by the most wonderful people. Food is absolutely delicious with something to suit everyone - from fresh and vibrant to warming and indulgent. I'm not vegan but have always loved the food here. Highly recommend - you will be very well fed and looked after, plus the interior/garden is stunning. Perfect for a cosy hot choc or a summers evening under the stars.

What a wonderful little gem in Truro. A very nice selection for vegans, gluten free, and it is very well priced, should be more expensive than it is! The restaurant itself is very clean and has a lot of space as well. Its LGBTQ+ friendly, and even better that they accept dogs as well! I should also mention the staff that served us (7/12/2024) was super friendly and helpful. Thank you.

I couldn't rave about this place more! The food, the decor, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. Not to mention very very reasonably priced considering it being in the heart of truro. I've been itching to try a meal here for years and finally made it to which it did not disappoint. We came at lunch time so there was a smaller menu than in the evening, but still with more than pleanty to tempt anyone. Both my partner and I were blown away not only with the taste of the food but also the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the quantity, even the crockery was lovely. Additionally, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome and looked after, the staff were an excellent testament to the cornish vegan. They were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, warm, and speedy though at no point did we feel rushed. I wish I could come regularly as I not only wanted to try everything on the menu, but would love to give the cornish vegan the patronage it deserves.

Went for dinner with family and had the carbonara, hash browns, burger and the stir fry. Food was absolutely amazing, good portions for prices, tasty and very filling. It was our first time trying proper vegan food and we were definitely pleasantly surprised. Service was brilliant, super friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.

We had a wonderful meal here - it's a proper powerhouse for all things plant based so a real treat for vegans but at the same time, as it has such a wide range of dishes on the menu, it's also the perfect place to bring anybody who is just interested in trying some new flavours and ingredients. You'll find something to tempt you on the menu no matter who you are. Options span the range from a decadently delicious double stacked tower of vegan pastrami with smoked cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and microgreens finished with sriracha mayo, to the Lunch Bowl bursting with colourful goodness and featuring sweet chilli tofu, lemon and dill marinaded carrots with homemade houmous alongside a range of epic vegetables and topped with a wasabi mayo dressing. The puds were seriously good too! The venue was relaxed and inviting, the team were super friendly and the food was 1st class. This one comes highly recommended as one of Cornwall's finest spots to indulge in original, delicious flavours and try some top notch plant based culinary magic first hand.

As a vegan it was brilliant to have the choice of the entire menu! I went with the pasta of the day, which was mac and cheese and it was lovely. Two of the meat eater went for the chicken burger and loved it. Also another member who really enjoyed their had the mushroom fusion. Also a shout out for the gravy too. Everything was lovely, would recommend for all not just vegans.

Four different meals ordered, and all were absolutely delicious ! My wife is vegetarian so she just adored it, I’m a meat eater but it just doesn’t matter when food tastes as fantastic as this does ! My daughter and her partner were extremely impressed and will return to the restaurant as they live locally. A big ‘thank you’ to all involved at The Cornish Vegan 👏🏼

Bowling alley
Truro Bowl is a charming and classic bowling alley with a friendly and helpful staff. The place may seem a bit dated, but it offers clean facilities and reasonably priced food. While the arcade might not be the main attraction, the overall experience is enjoyable. Visitors can expect some issues with the bowling lanes, but despite that, they are likely to have great fun and would consider returning for another visit.
One of the best, if not the best, bowling alley in Cornwall. The lanes are well kept and oiled and the balls are in good condition. Drinks are well priced, staff are friendly and approachable. Went here last weekend with my partner for the first time, had 2 games for a decent price. Our only issue was the small amount of seating at the lanes, with 2 large groups next to us there was no seating for us but wasn't too much of an issue. Overall Truro Bowl is a lovely spot to knock down some pins and spend time with friends and family. They also have, air hockey, pool, bar machines and a classic Outrun 2 game which is pretty cool! Responding to other reviews, The facilities are a little bit rough but they are clean and usable. The decor is dated but I find this gives the place some charm! Will be going here more!

It was alright, nothing special. We went for a work do, I asked for a cheese burger with no bun, got a cheese burger with a bun 🙄. A couple of my colleagues couldnt eat their food, one was under cooked, the other was a veggie burger and she didnt managed one bite before giving it away to someone else. It's more of an activity place than a food place though, so cant expect much. Bowling was fun for everyone.

Have been going since I was a young kid, was one of my favourite places but I can see this is slowly falling apart due to the construction outside and not much have changed inside within a decade of going. The prices are reasonable, excellent staff service and the food is standard, would suggest better options for fussy eaters though. One of the very few good social places left in Truro for people to hang out at, need more.

Subway is a chain of sandwich shops that specializes in build-your-own sandwiches and salads. The chain has a health-conscious option for those who want to make sure they are eating healthy.
The food is always like a standard Subway deliciousness, nothing wrong with this store’s food. It’s just the staff and the manager Andrew alone who are always making the experience unsettling and disappointing. Some training could be done to improve customer experience. Recent photo of a window being smashed not long after the new store opened, what a shame on both the criminal offender(s) and staff.

Food is usually ok, slightly stingy on the salad. Male manager is always so rude and tries to upsell at every opportunity. Ginger girl is also very rude, seems like she doesn’t want to be there and is very demanding. I don’t enjoy going into this store and avoid it. This store needs better training or potentially different staff.
Editstar X — Google review
For us, we got standard subway quality food, but clearly for others the experience was not up to par. At least three people came back because of missing items or pure stinginess (one guy saying he only got one slice of chicken in a foot long). The staff got through orders very slowly creating a very long queue. The guy in there seemed to be quite nice, but was constantly trying to upsell. The woman with ginger hair at the till on the other hand was extremely blunt and rude to customers. When we received cups with no lids or straws whatsoever, my daughter went to ask for some (bearing in mind they were clearly there behind the woman). She was met with a rude and blunt response of “We don’t want to give them out anymore; you know that we’re trying to save the environment, don’t you?!” Honestly sounded like she just couldn’t be asked. Also, during payment she was continuously blunt and half shouted at us NO REFILLS when we weren’t planning to anyway. Would not recommend visiting.

GET RID OF CHELSEA. Extremely rude member of staff. Telling the customers they’re saying things wrong. Clearly hates her job. If you care about your business you’ll get rid of her. I was going to walk out before paying but felt for Andrew who was polite and was having to deal with her attitude also. Customers nearby were also astonished by her rudeness. Wont be returning until shes gone
Karleigh — Google review
Standard subway sandwich, if that. Manager is unwelcoming and very attitudy every time i come in, which is now not often. Very little salad on the sandwich. If you ask for more, you’ll be told what the ‘standard’ amount is. I’d rather be told i will be charged more to get what i want than have a lesson on how to make a standard subway sandwich. In the past i have asked for my sandwich to be wrapped twice as it would be sat in my bag whilst travelling home, which was refused as he’s ’not allowed’ to use more than one piece. I get stock count, but come on. The manager just seems extremely anal about everything, which, along with the attitude, comes across unwelcoming.
Ali — Google review
First time in the new store today to grab a sandwich with my two daughters. It was total disorganised chaos and the entire place was absolutely filthy.. I didn’t realise until I sat down the tables, floor and highchair looked like they’d never been cleaned and sandwiches not great either.. threemilestone store is miles better. Won’t be returning.

Have been 2nd time to the new subway which got shifted opposite M&S The lady at the counter was so rude who made my sandwich :( Literally threw the bread when I was unable to explain her in once what I wanted Food is tasty but that lady is very rude!! Worst customer service

Staff were so rude. They couldn’t crack a smile for any customers. Chloe lady who wears a bandana was extremely rude. To busy chatting and flirting with the other male staff

Fantastic , we had a delivery from you this evening and it was lovely. Good timing getting here and the food went down a treat. Thank you your Pizzas really are the best. The gluten free option is really good too lots of choice. We will order from you again definitely

Avoid. Unacceptably bad and not for the first time. Both my visits have been poor. Two meals from a party of 6 had to be rejected as they were of such a low standard they actually unpleasant to eat. I tasted my mums Seasonal Carbonara and she was correct - I was unpleasant. And for the second time in three years, the Linguine con Frutti Di Mare was terrible - a super poor tomato sauce with no trace of seafood stock and very little seafood. To their credit, the manager was quick to remove the cost of these items from the bill. But that’s not the point. I could do better myself and won’t be going again. The sad thing is they get away with it while food of a very high standard is widely available in Italy at a similar price, even in tourist areas.
Ashley M — Google review
Food - Below average, very sad as this was our first time coming here, we were really excited, and VERY disappointed. Also VERY expensive for something you could get a Pizza Hut or likewise for cheaper. Service - Service was INCREDIBLY slow, and when food arrived waitress and waiter had to double check what order they were actually carrying in their hands. And we were made to feed VERY uncomfortable. Atmosphere - We were made to feel like we were in the wrong. It was EXTREMELY loud and could hardly hear what the people were saying opposite. When it came to pay, I showed my blue light discount for 30% off food, he said he couldn’t accept it. And made up 3 excuses even though all the Ts&Cs were met. He was especially rude to my partner who actually walked out the restaurant as I was paying. If I could give a 0 start rating for atmosphere I would. WE WONT BE RETURNING.

Very pleasant meal with my partner and 2 young kids. The kids' portion was good. My vegan pizza was really nice, and the vegan dessert was VERY good 👍

Perfect for pre theatre dinner, about 2 mins walk from Hall for Cornwall. The decor is thoughtful and interesting, the service was quick and efficient whilst not being overbearing. The menu has everything you'd expect in a good Italian restaurant, although we weren't very adventurous with our carbinara and spag bol....both excellent. There were some nice touches like the complimentary real lemonade shots to start. I also loved the mini dessert plus coffee option, perfect if you just want a little something sweet. Highly recommend.
Laura T — Google review
Fair play to these guys. Came in mid week, packed out till 7 due to theatre bookings, only three staff in. Yes it was busy, yes tables were covered in glasses as they frantically tried to catch up, but they worked their asses off to deliver service and food, unaffected by how busy it was. All three deserve commendations for working so hard.
Chris M — Google review
The food was hot, and very tasty. The staff member was very helpful and polite, and did really well to keep up with the growing room of customers. We enjoyed it the first time, so we went back again. I had the Burrata and Pancetta Carbonara and the Chocolate Etna ( Dark chocolate dome, with a warm toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream ). Very delicious 😋
Robert B — Google review
Great food as always. Service a little slow on this occasion but they were very busy! The staff are very vigilant when it comes to allergies. They have a folder to check against all the potential ingredients which people may be allergic to and your meal comes with a sticker to say it has been made with your allergy in mind.

Fish and chips takeaway
Sole Plaice, a beloved chippie in Truro, has been serving satisfied customers since 1980. Whether you opt for takeaway or dine in their cozy restaurant, you can expect friendly service with a smile. The menu is simple and fairly priced, offering classic fish and chips that are highly praised by locals. While the food is delicious, some have noted minor issues with greasiness and closing time discrepancies.
Great fish and chips. Freshly cooked, big portions and fair priced. Sat in the restaurant with plenty of space and a nice atmosphere. Definitely would recommend

Don't listen to these 1 star phonys, we were served today and everything was great from the food to the service. Anyone who clearly puts a 1 star on this place either has nothing better to do in their sad little lives - or they genuinely caught them on a (extremely rare) bad day. Visit this place, both locals and visitors reccomend it, which I now also will reccomend next time someone is visit Truro!

Gardens
Victoria Gardens is a lovely outdoor space in Truro, perfect for a leisurely stroll or simply enjoying the natural beauty. The gardens feature an array of trees and plants, with summer flower displays adding vibrant colors to the surroundings. Visitors can also find seating areas, including some undercover spots, making it ideal for relaxation. A notable highlight is the wildflower plot that attracts plenty of bees, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Lovely small park and gardens. No play equipment but grassed areas, numerous benches and a bandstand where there are sunday afternoon free concerts in the summer. There is a coffee and snack hut on site. Poor toilet facilities. Very little parking available except for on Sundays, when you can park on the roadside.
Jim O — Google review
Nice walk around the gardens today. Stopped off at Pollen Café for a nice cup of tea. Lovely.
Peter H — Google review
A very pleasant stroll through gardens that are well maintained. Lots of lovely blooming flowers so it's clear they're well kept. Toilets are quite rammy though so I'd go elsewhere if youre desperate!

Wow! Nestled close to the heart of Truro city centre is the beautiful garden! I only discovered it by accident, but if you have time, this is well worth a visit. Plenty of seating available, and a little cafe is in there too. When I'm next in Truro, I will be going back! I only had time to look at some of the paths, and I want to walk them all!

Skatepark
Hendra Skate Park in Truro is a popular outdoor skate park suitable for skaters of all levels. It features a play area for younger kids and picnic tables nearby. The park is well-loved by locals and attracts people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. While some visitors note that the park has more steps than ramps, making it seem more suitable for adults, others appreciate the presence of big ledges and the overall epic vibe of the park.
Great park, had like stuff to go swoosh and woosh on, so I had much fun whooshing around
Christopher R — Google review
Nice big skate park with a park next door as well as Victoria Gardens near by. However I've never seen a skate park with so many steps.. there's more steps than ramps, so if its your kids first time there.. make sure they check where all the steps are as you can't tell its steps when you are approaching the steps as it looks like a ramp until the last minute, Seems more of an adult skate park
Gemma S — Google review
amazing skatepark for a cruise and some street tech. bad news if you're a transition skater as your only option is the mellow half pipe with the amazing extension section. hoping in the future changes can be made to the park as skateboarding has moved on from massive stairs, to flow based performance.

Took my newly skate-mad 9 yo here and we loved it. Clearly deeply beloved by locals. Everyone of every age and background here, to skate, scoot, slide and generally have fun. No agro just lovely people. Experienced skaters gently advising the 9yo on skills and giving them space while they also did their own thing. It was amazing.
Joe F — Google review
Good concrete park with some Big ledges! Was wet when we visited unfortunately
Tom B — Google review
Whoever designed this place clearly had a fixation with skating stair sets. You can skate small steps, big steps, middle-sized steps, twin steps, triple steps, quad steps... you get the idea. Yes there is also a pretty nice half pipe and a few small flat banks but mainly steps: 5-steps, 6=steps... lots and lots of steps.

Whistlefish Truro is a charming shop that offers an extensive selection of cards and prints for various occasions. From kids' birthdays to milestone celebrations, Christmas, condolences, thank-yous, and more, they have it all. The store is known for its beautiful designs and environmentally friendly approach with their plastic-free Christmas cards. While some customers find the cushion collection lacking, the paintings are highly praised for their attractiveness.
I find the shop clean, attractive ad interesting. It is good value with quality cards. I don't like the cushions much. However, the paintings are very attractive. I wish they did not insist on you paying by card, they take no cash whatsoever.

Popped in to buy a Birthday card last week costing £2, and to be told ‘Sorry, we only accept card payments’. Whistlefish - I decide when my banking cards come out of my wallet, not you. As a consequence you lost a sale and I will now be buying my Christmas cards elsewhere.. According to other reviews I am not the only dissatisfied customer in regards to card only payments. It felt quite discriminating.
John A — Google review
Very helpful member of staff searched out a particular type of card. Currently offering 12 cards for £10 so they are great value as well as being lovely.
David H — Google review
Amazing cards, beautiful prints and designs for every occasion with empty inside so you can fill with your own words. Kids birthdays up to 12, teen birthdays up to 17, then all prominent birthdays eg; 18,21,30,40 etc. Everything is there literally birthdays, christmas, mourning deaths, thank you’s, holidays, mother’s day, grandmas great, anniversary, awesome uncle bla bla bla-bla-bla. Better, the christmas cards are now naked (aka plastic free) to save the environment. I buy ALL my cards for birthdays and christmas and one for my parents in July and even get a free tin I buy so many and that does me for the whole year! Great shop 👌😄

The dude working that day really didn't want to be there and wasn't afraid to let people know. In all my years of customer service I have never come across someone who has no business being in a position of customer contact than this guy. Rude doesn't come into it. Complained of noisy children (spoiler, it was a children's party) only turned on a few machines(there were 12 of them) and then ridiculed a parent when she was trying to explain her child has sensory issues. Luckily the kids took no notice and had a good time but staff need more training. Maybe check your prices too, paying that much we would expect all machines to be switched on.

We took my son and a friend to Player Ready Truro for a birthday treat. They were both inexperienced with VR, but the member of staff explained everything in a really accessible way, and was so helpful and calm. He picked up on when they were getting stuck and would go to help them before they had the chance to get frustrated. He offered them water when they were getting hot (because it does get hot!) He made good game suggestions to them and even let them play on the Xbox when they wanted to take a break from wearing the headsets. The venue was great, the equipment was great and the selection of games were great. (We paid for the arcade session.) I didn’t catch the member of staff’s name. But he was working on Saturday 5th July in the afternoon. So big thanks to that guy! We will definitely be back. My son absolutely loved it. Big parties with lots of people can be overwhelming for him, so we scaled back this year and we are so glad we did! Thank you for having us.

Absolutely awesome experience. We booked for 4 people to do a VR escape room as a birthday present for our nephew, and we had such a good time. The staff were really friendly and helpful, putting up with all my silly questions! The space is really cool, it's super easy to get to with parking across the road. The price for the session was really reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend checking out, and I'm sure I will be back again!

We have been 3 times over the past 4 months (Oct 2022, Dec 2022 and Jan 2023) and my girls LOVE it! They have tried 2 escape rooms and 1 individual game session. Two have been organised birthday parties. What makes the experiences 5 star is the manager on site (think he is called Sam?). He is a godsend!! He is SO patient and understanding. He would make an excellent teacher as he spoke to the children as individuals, consoled my girl who was in tears, tried a few things to make her feel better and generally an all round superstar. Player Ready should make sure they keep hold of Sam!

I have been coming to Uneeka on and off for years, I love the versatile styles of furniture and have pieces in my home (which always get to comments from friends!). The team are all so lovely smiley and helpful. I recently attended the Lampshade Making Workshop with my daughter - something totally new to me. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the teacher was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about her craft. She was patient with everyone, ensuring that we all left with a lampshade we could be proud of! It was a fantastic experience, especially for a craft novice like me. We were thrilled to take home something so professionally made in just a few hours. We were also given a discount for Uneeka Café for a delicious lunch (my cherry on the cake!). I will definitely come to more workshops and continue to visit the uneeka stores.

Just can’t rate this lush little Cornish company highly enough. SAME DAY DELIVERY!!!-on a sofa I desperately needed to dress a house. Kaan the driver carried it in, set it up-just the nicest guy. Go there everyone it’s fantastic and they are so lovely to deal with.

The Mockingbird Mimosa Lounge in Truro, England is a beautiful and intimate place to enjoy cocktails and delicious food. The service is wonderful, and they have a full bar that serves wine and beer. They also have private dining available, as well as wheelchair accessible seating.
Had a lovely evening here the other night. The service was so warm and welcoming , and the atmosphere was great. We had the tapas and cocktails/mocktails here and they were all delicious, reasonably priced and decent sizing and great options for veggies! We also loved the decor. Would definitely recommend and will return .

Cute little café and lovely staff, but a very small service/prep area. It took an hour from us sitting down to actually getting our food. I think the seating area may be too big for the capacity the kitchen can produce. So if it's on the empty side, give it a try. However, if it's full maybe try somewhere else

Can't fault our experience of this place. Tucked away off the main street with indoor and outdoor seating (noted the basket of cosy blankets by the door for those who needed them). Cappuccino good, hot chocolate amazing and Victoria sponge, very fresh and deliciously served with fresh fruit and syrup. Service friendly and spot on, was quiet when we visited. Would highly recommend for a relaxing stop away from the main street.

Here are the pros and cons for our visit: Pros : Hot food and coffee Friendly staff Cons: Took 40 mins to bring the breakfast out to us ( only 2 of us ). 10mins for coffee. 1/2 hour later breakfast was brought out. No other customers present. Dirty place : Dust everywhere, dirty floor with a ball of hair rolling around. Table was grubby. Toast that was served wasn’t even toasted at all. As if stuck under the grill to dry the bread then taken out. No condiments offered. Weak latte coffee, hot milk with the slightest beige colour. No coffee smell. Worst coffee I’ve ever had. Overall I felt the breakfast was trying to be more than it should have been. Pretentious. No need for garlic mushrooms at breakfast.

Fantastic little find. If you are in Truro this is a must visit. Fantastic tapas menu and if you're not keen on tapas, plenty of interesting food to choose from. They also do an array of cocktails and quality beer's all reasonably priced. The staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble. One of my favourite place's that I'm looking forward to visiting again. Thankyou.

The Indian takeaway in Calenick Street is a popular choice for NHS workers who need food during lockdown, with friendly staff and delicious food. It also offers delivery, making it easy to get your hands on some delicious Indian cuisine.
Decided to give this place a try for the first time tonight. Ordered the special fusion kebab with chips, spicy wings, and the gourmet chicken burger. All of it was very good and tasty. The chicken was juicy and tender (both the burger and the wings), the fries were nice and crispy and kebab was fantastic, the meat was very good quality, the salad fresh and all very well seasoned with the spice mix. Service was very good, the person I spoke to on the phone and also the delivery man was polite and friendly and the food arrived quicker than expected.

Friendly staff, COVID friendly as brought the food to the car. Great menu as there was a variety of items to order. Loved the rice but expected the curry to be better.
Jerin — Google review
Absolutely appalled by the customer service with this restaurant. Ordered at 7.30pm on Just Eat, and had to wait for nearly an hour before we had any communication from anyone. The delivery driver called and told us that he had one more delivery, then would be with us. Nearly 2 hours after we ordered, we were still left waiting for the food. We phoned the restaurant to be rudely spoken to and have the phone put down on us. We turned the food away at this point, as waiting over 2 hours for food which google maps said was a 30 minute drive to us was a complete joke. Not only this, but when we received a phone call from a delivery driver, he informed us that the total would be an extra £7 due to how far away we were. We had no issue in paying this, but could've been something that the restaurant could've phoned us to say once we placed the order, not an hour afterwards. As avid curry lovers, we were keen to try this place. Our delivery earlier in the week was cancelled, but wanted to give them a second chance as the food looked delicious, and I can say we are gutted we did. Luckily we are holiday makers as I would not be ordering from this place again if I were a local.

Ordered food at 19:20 food finally arrived at 21:40. When I phoned the restaurant I was told, (very rudely) that our order should never have been accepted as we were too far away (maybe change your delivery area???). As for the food when it finally did arrive, the chips were cold and the rest of the food was Luke warm. The kebab was smothered in chilli sauce which there was no mention of at point or ordering which made it inedible. Over all bitterly disappointed and would advise people not to order from here.

My sister ordered a burger and chips. The burger was good but they forgot the chips. I ordered a Kashmiri chicken curry and garlic rice. It was the worst curry I have ever had. Couldn't eat it. Dry, tasteless chicken. Tasteless sauce with chunks of tinned pineapple in it, which is the closest it got to being Kasmiri. No nuts or dried fruits. Don't think the rice had had any garlic even waved over it. I don't normally write reviews about food places, but this one was surprising for all the wrong reasons!

First time ordering at Nazim and can only praise it very highly. Sufian and his staff very attentive and eager to serve. Great to be able to see the food being cooked while waiting in the comfy reception area. Food was totally awesome and this has to be one of the best Indian takeaways in Cornwall! Just the right level of spice and creaminess in the dishes we chose. This is now my new regular curry house and I will be back very soon.

a family member ordered food at 7.10 tonight took them 2 hours for the delivery to arrive. tried ringing with no answer I asked for no cheese on 2 of the chicken burgers as my partner has allergies on top of that the half of the order was wrong. the portion size was atrocious and the food was stone cold the fact they can't even read an order right and not give us no chilli sauce or coleslaw and also get 2 different types of meat wrong is beyond me I really suggest you stay away from this place the fact there delivering cold food I'm sure is against the law so will be contacting someone about this.
Andrew V — Google review
Excellent food! The best I've had in Truro for a very long time! The staff who take your order on the phone are polite, patient, friendly and helpful with suggestions. Mom and I are disabled so we've not been able to visit Nazim but have had food delivered 3 times now, the person who delivers is extremely friendly and always on time. The quality of the food is constantly excellent and we will be loyal customers.

Italian restaurant
Piero's Pizzeria is a well-established Italian restaurant in Truro that offers an authentic Italian dining experience. The menu features a variety of dishes made with local Cornish produce and imported Italian ingredients, including oven-cooked pizzas and daily specials. Visitors can enjoy a warm welcome suitable for families, couples, and large parties. The restaurant also accommodates dietary needs such as gluten-free options and allows guests to customize their own pizza or pasta dish by discussing preferences with the wait staff.
Superb meal at Piero’s and very reasonable price! Staff were very attentive and happy to help (not sure about the bad reviews on this) everyone we had was pleasant 😊 Food was delicious, came out fast and was hot! We shared bread for a starter and for mains I had the Fettuccine Piero’s highly recommend. Prawns & aubergine in tomato sauce was only £13.90! Will definitely be back 👍🏻
Emma T — Google review
Very difficult to fault. The pizza that I had was fantastic, the pasta that my other half had was fantastic. So much flavour in both! Reasonable value and great service! Will definitely be revisiting and a good chance that may become a regular thing!

This restaurant has always been on my must visit list every time I visit Cornwall on holiday. The food us exquisite and great value and the atmosphere? You could be in Italy👍

Lovely food, especially the Mushroom and Asparagus risotto! Better than our usual Italian restaurant in Bristol. Great atmosphere too! Authentic. We will come again when we are next in Truro.

An exceptional dining experience on a bustling Friday evening, the service was remarkably quick from the moment we stepped in and the menu boasted an impressive array of classic Italian dishes. The staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate us last minute, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

As I headed through the small alley way towards the door of Piero’s, I was immediately greeted by a nice Waiter who checked our reservation and seated us down. A kind waitress took our orders and the service was quick, I had the bolognaise spaghetti and it was truly delicious. It is worth mentioning that the Italian vibe was authentic and I could see a pizza chef preparing our pizza. However, I did notice how the tables were slightly sticky, which was a bit odd but hardly bothered me. The food is tasty 😋. Will come again.

Food was very nice. The penne funghi was very flavourful and was a good portion. The pizza was great with a very good base. My only complaint would be that my server was unenthusiastic and looked a bit done.
Luke H — Google review
I have no idea how this place has so many five star reviews, I ate here once and would never go back. Service was average at best, decor shabby and the food was the worst I've ever had at any restaurant. The chefs are either not chefs or not Italian, as I cannot even begin to describe what they tried to pass off as a lasagne. Steer well clear.

Pan-Asian restaurant
Xen Noodle Bar, located in Truro city center, offers Asian Fusion and Modern Chinese Cooking with a special focus on Wok-style noodles and South Korean barbecue grills. The restaurant provides a takeaway and delivery service throughout the week, including a family meal deal. Customers have praised the tasty food, helpful staff, and warm atmosphere. The menu includes vegetarian options like tofu and noodles which are highly recommended by patrons for their delicious flavors.
Amazing service from the waitress she was extremely friendly and so lovely!!! We had the Korean BBQ and we have no complaints at all it was so good! we was left pleased with the overall experience!!
Felicity R — Google review
Terrible experience. We ordered starters and waited over 30 minutes with no updates. When we asked, the waiter seemed indifferent and didn’t care. Only one starter arrived, even though we ordered two, and no plates or cutlery were provided. The main course was equally disappointing—terrible food quality. Overall, a complete disaster. Will never come back!
Don B — Google review
I would give this place zero stars if I could, I was looking for a place that can cater for vegetarian food without onion and garlic and they said they could. The pots came out with spring onion and they literally took them in and removed the onions from the top and while eating we found spring onions and they guy said might have been mixed and we also found hair in tofu and he said I can’t take responsibility as there might be do with tofu manufacturers. Appreciate after complain they didn’t charge us for hot pots. The drinks also had some black stuff in it. No wonder why this place was completely empty! At the same time the man was leaning in our seats making us feel uncomfortable and he was honestly really smelly. We saw one of the chefs poking her ear well! Although the food and service wasn’t the best, I could tell that the people were at least trying to be nice. NEVER COME HERE!!!!!
Bhav 9 — Google review
I came in and ate here with my family about a week ago, the service was good and the food was amazing! We eat here regularly and they are always so warm and welcoming. The food is always so delicious and what I believe to be the manager (a young lady) she is so polite and stopped to have a conversation with us, despite the restaurant being busy! We have been eating here for 3 years now and never had an issue, I think the negative reviews are very false, don’t always believe everything you see online !! Would recommend this restaurant to anyone❤️
Georgina T — Google review
I got takeaway and received not very nice prawn crackers and the chips were soggy which is understandable because I'm 18 minutes away but the portion sizes were small and as someone that only eats chips and prawn crackers the portion was tiny and the prawn crackers weren't the best had oil spots on them and when I contacted them the person I spoke to on the phone was quite rude the only good service I had was from the delivery person as she was very friendly but the other people were quite defensively and argumentative and rude. Wouldn't recommend going here.
Kayleemads 3 — Google review
100% would recommend. I had the duck dumplings and the chicken noodles, my husband had the Mongolian lamb and curry noodle soup. The taste was spot on, and the portion sizes were very satisfying. The service provided was very friendly!!! Will be coming back!! ❤️❤️
Lani R — Google review
We came here for lunch. As we stepped in we noticed that it was quite unkept for example, the floor was dirty and the seats were peeling. Service was pretty slow. The glasses were very dirty and the water was warm. The “crispy” squid was soft and oily. We also ordered the crispy duck which was dry and of poor quality. Also the plum sauce was extremely sweet. Overall a unsatisfactory experience hence the low rating.
Mae — Google review
I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this place. The business has a different name on the store front however, “Honogie”. Me and my girlfriend came here on a Sunday for lunch and we ordered the Korean bbq which was great value for the amount of meat we ate, they even offer extra meat for free over the set price if you manage to get through it all. Everything had great flavour and great value, we also had a great chat with the owners who were genuinely lovely people. Would 100% come back again. Was quite sad seeing it so empty on a Sunday, would recommend giving this a chance; especially the Korean bbq stuff

Simply bakes by Fi (I’m not sure on the name as I had to go off my bank statement!) but wow! Thought I’d pick up a bit for lunch and whilst the sausage roll (with sage & fennel etc. was excellent) the Cruffin was on another planet! A complete game changer; a beautiful mix of a croissant and a muffin filled to the hilt with vanilla custard and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Just a treat that bought a huge smile to me and deserves a bit of credit! Definitely worth a visit here.

Music Nostalgia is a must-visit for music lovers, offering an extensive collection of vinyl, CDs, and merchandise across various genres. Whether you're a dedicated collector or a casual listener, the shop has something special that will take you back to the golden era of music. The friendly and helpful staff make browsing through their well-laid-out selection of new and second-hand music formats a delightful experience.
Nice independent record shop with friendly owners. Loads of variety plus they also sell pin badges, cards and T-shirts

Great selection of vinyl and CDs, at least across everything I wanted to browse. Will come back. The USP for me was the use of decent quality speakers playing music in the store - not the usual booming-bass + multiple little boxes of many media stores. I was enjoying listening to the music as much as the browsing, whatever genre was playing.

Amazing shop! Well organised, lots of cool stock from every era and covering all kinds of genres. Left with loads of CDs at decent prices after two hours digging. The best kind of record shop! I’ll be back! 👍🏻
Anfunny K — Google review
Good record shop, however, they didn't have much of what I was after, maybe next time I visit they'll have something but, it would have been better if the chap would have told me he didn't have the items in stock rather than telling me to look through the stock
Andrew W — Google review
The guy in the shop was pretty miserable, the shop didn’t have a very nice feel to it. Also the records were very overpriced in comparison to other record shops, they were categorised very well though.
Joseph D — Google review
Lovely shop! Always pop in when we're down on holiday, got some lovely stuff, got some t shirts , socks and metallica vinyl today..will be back down in a few months time
Julie B — Google review
The staff at Music Nostalgia are all very friendly & helpful. They have CD's & vinyl available, both new & second hand. All at reasonable prices. They also have a good selection of T shirts. I actually purchased a T shirt but when I got back home it was a little too small so I called them & they said they would reserve a larger one for me until I took the other back to exchange it, excellent service.! Music Nostalgia is definitely worth a visit if you are ever in the Truro area.

"The Drummer" is a captivating piece of art that offers an immersive experience. It showcases the beauty and complexity of traditional drumming, drawing visitors into its rhythmic world. The performance is a mesmerizing display of skill and passion, leaving a lasting impression on all who witness it. With its powerful beats and dynamic choreography, "The Drummer" is a must-see for anyone seeking an authentic cultural experience.
An eye catching, creative, thought provoking, awe inspiring statue that renders you speechless and unable to look away. Kudos to its creature, truly a treasure to Lemon Quay and its surrounding city of Truro. A must visit!
J M — Google review
This 15ft high statue, sculpted from bronze and Cornish tin, and mounted on a globe in the middle of Lemon Street's busy market area, caught my eye on a recent visit to Truro. Sculpted by British artist Tim Shaw, it represents the unique identity of Cornwall. An eye-catching work of modern art, though it looked in need of a good clean when I saw it!
Valerie H — Google review
It's a great piece of art but in the wrong place and out of context. Its " personal features" are on full show, so not ideal family viewing on a major concourse. Much to the amusement of every inquisitive child who points them out.. Also, what is its significance in Truro? What and where is the explanation or context.. surely a miner or a fisherman would have meant more to visitors and tourists alike. It's different, controversial, yes, thought-provoking, and well made. But it's wrong in that place. It's a drummer!! And I can see no simple obvious Cornish reason for it being there. Saying the cornish drum to a different beat doesn't work. That statue, in that pose. Does not show that in a meaningfully contextually interpretable way. Hopefully, the place will be redesignated as our version of Trafalgar Squares 4th plinth and the statue moved and changed for something else. Do we have a music school it could stand in front of or a greek war museum?

Conveniently located in the centre of Truro, just a short walk from the cathedral, this small and very welcoming visitor information centre has a wealth of free info and maps both of Truro and of Cornwall in general, plus interesting books and some nice gifts including pottery and jewellery. Good evening meal here midweek. Pizza express is reliable place to eat. Staff here were very friendly and it is in an historic old building in the centre of Truro. The Fiorentina pizza with egg and spinach is my favourite.

Ordered piccolo meal but server said she will put desert later. Each piece of food took so long to arrive and when desert was needed, server said she has to put the desert on order now. That wasted so much time since coming in for just 1 meal. The server could have put desert when we ordered 1st place but no sorry or apology received. My child likes same choices so unable to understand why server thought child may change her mind and could not listen what the customer saying.

A typical Pizza Express nestled awkwardly within a fantastic old building. The food was of course as expected tasty, fast enough but not so you felt rushed and reasonably priced. The service was attentive and polite. The dairy and gluten free kids pizza was among the tastiest we have found, so top marks for that. The BBQ burnt ends was top notch, not too spicy but with enough heat. The toilet is out the back of the restaurant across a shared hall so you needed a pin to enter it. A bit contrived but the best they could do I suppose. Had the toilet not felt like a 1980's British Rail platform toilet it'd be 5 stars.

After trying and failing to get lunch at Charlottes around the corner we dropped in to try and get lunch here. A member of staff approached us within 30 seconds and asked if we had a reservation. We didn’t but I looked around and there was 1 table with four seats cleaned and ready and three other tables of four seats that had old dishes on but no one sitting at them. Upon telling the member of staff we didn’t have a reservation, we were told at 1:30pm they had no availability until 3pm!?! I again looked around the restaurant with the member of staff following my gaze but it seems if there is no incentives to turn tables around quickly, why should they bother!?! Are they getting paid the same regardless of how hard (or not in this case) that they work. We left in search of somewhere which would serve us with less lazy staff…

Awesome place. Loved the varied menu, so much choice. The restaurant itself was contemporary and pretty cool and chic. Plenty to look at in its design. We liked that you ordered via a QR code and paid that way too. Especially like that it was dog friendly as well.. Even inside. They even gave him a bowl of water when we arrived. The food itself was outstanding. I had sri lankan curry and my wife had lamb cofti flat bread. Wow... Lovely. The strawberry trifle was amazing for pudding! Hard to see how the meal could have been improved. Superb. Thank you.

Had a main meal each here following a show at the Hall For Cornwall. Very nice good value food and great quality. We'll be back.

Possible I caught them at a bad time but when I visited the service was incredibly slow, regardless of whether the order was put through the app or the bar. Food was okay but nothing special. Would not recommend the espresso martini or limoncello spritz, both tasted very artificial.
Abby — Google review
Times have changed. Upon entering you’re no longer greeted by a happy face, merely a sign propped up on an easel telling you to find your own table. You find your seat, menus already on the table where you’re encouraged to order on the app, the WiFi is terrible and there’s little signal to be found inside so I ended up just ordering at the bar. The lady serving me was lovely it must be mentioned, it was not a burden to take my order and she was happy to do so with a smile, and answered my questions well. (For management she was dark haired with a shaved side, on Monday morning at approximately 10.30, an excellent front of house waitress.) I sat back down and drinks arrived promptly, and then we waited approximately 45mins for our food. The place wasn’t busy, a quarter full at a guess, we couldn’t understand why we were waiting so long. By the time our food had arrived we’d finished our drinks long ago. No warning for the wait was given, and other tables were waiting just as long. We only ordered off the menu, no special requests. The waitress that served us our drinks and food was not quite so happy to be there. Slamming drinks and then the food down with force which was noticeable. When the food did arrive it wasn’t great, it was presented nicely but sadly that was as good as it got, my partners poached eggs tasted strongly of vinegar. My hash browns were over cooked as was the egg. Toast soggy and cold. Sausages were tasty however. Finally we used the toilet facilities before leaving and they were fairly grotty for 11.30 in the morning, the check sheet showed it had been checked but certainly nothing had been done about it. The mirrors were covered in sink splash back and the urinals smelt. I did check to ensure the marks on the mirror wasn’t ‘patina’ such is the decor, and it was not. Overall the only shining light was the waitress who took my order at the bar, I fear this would have been a 1 star if she wasn’t there. We won’t be returning in a hurry. Sorry.

Coffee shop
Café Uneeka is a hidden gem located above a shop filled with locally sourced furniture, antiques, and homewares. The café offers a cozy and lively atmosphere with an airy and modern dining room adorned with artistic touches. It's known for its vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu featuring toasties, sharing boards, and light bites made from locally sourced ingredients. Visitors can enjoy freshly brewed coffee along with decadent cakes while taking in the charming ambiance of the café.
I found this cafe yesterday after my top 3 choices were all inexplicably closed and I have to say it was fate! The lady who welcomed me as I walked in (so rare these days for a start) and who served me was amazing, I’ve got terrible eyesight and thought the only menu was the specials board and she went through everything vegan with me and could not have been nicer. The food was exceptional! The coffee was perfect and I couldn’t help but have a vegan raspberry croissant which was calling to me the whole time I was in there even though I was stuffed from my lunch and was to die for! This has now become my first choice for when I’m down in Cornwall from now on.

A lovely, great cafe in the centre of Truro (somehow a hideous place, as not easily spotted). While entering the cafe gives you vibes of keen and interest having thoughts of “what’s special in here”!? The place is very relaxing and very homey, especially the staffs were fantastic, having smiles on their faces and very friendly, polite. Didn’t really felt unaccommodated or uncomfortable at all. Menu’s are available at every table though you need to order at the till. They have varieties of drinks, hot and cold options. Ordered victoria sponge cake, superb good! As well drinks, overall great cafe experience. Highly recommended.

Whenever we pop into Truro this is our go-to for a delicious meal or just a coffee and cake. Always full and busy which is testament to their popularity. I had the cranberry Brie and walnut toastie and my daughter her favourite salad with all the things! Situated above the Uneeka Life shop on the Boscawen square. Vegetarian options and a daily specials menu plus non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available for choice. Small with eight tables and a street view from above. Always a pleasure to be here.

Super friendly staff and brilliant food, if you are in Truro and you fancy a coffee and lunch I could not recommend Uneeka anymore. Lots of brilliant vegan and vegetarian options, the salad and peanut brownie we had was lush.

Restaurant
The Longstore Lemon Street is a charming restaurant located in a beautifully transformed Georgian house, offering stunning harbourside views and an array of delectable seafood and steak dishes. Known for its locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere suitable for family gatherings and romantic dates. With options for brunch, lunch, and dinner throughout the week, including bottomless brunches on Saturdays, The Longstore is perfect for any occasion.
It's of huge significance to me, revisiting the last place myself and my late wife visited for our 20th wedding anniversary. To celebrate my twin boys 18th Birthday, and enjoy their first legal beer was truly fitting and a great occasion. The pork belly was absolutely superb, the beef ragu and the surf and turf equally as excellent. The doughnuts which two teenage men devoured with ease was the perfect meal to create a new, lasting memory. Service excellent, and the price was on par for the meal. First ale for the lads on the house too was an added bonus. Many thanks!

Amazing food! And inside was very nicely decorated with warm and cosy Christmas vibes… only downfall was the service!! Esp as this was a birthday meal - they were made aware of this but chose to ignore it which I haven’t had at a restaurant before??? Two brunette girls were especially moody even when given an undeserved tip 😐 This doesn’t include the American waitress who served us nicely.
Natania — Google review
A very cozy and pleasant restaurant. I had the Padrón Peppers, Davidstow Cheddar & Jalapeño Fritters, Elderflower Cooler, Mac & Cheese Burger with a Blackened Sweet Potato on the side. Others on my table had the seasonal green veg, truffle mac & cheese and fries as their sides. Portion sizes are smaller for starters and standard for mains. The menu is a little on the pricier side. The Padrón Peppers were mild on the spice scale, and enjoyable with the Romesco served. The fritters however reminded me of Arancini; and its pairing with the hot harissa honey was a most welcome surprise for me. Definitely consider trying the fritters, the peppers are pretty standard and missable, so wouldn’t bother with those again. However, the burger was incredibly filling (and a bit of a challenge to finish off!) the Mac & cheese “patty” was super crispy on the outside and incredibly cheesy on the inside. I think this burger does need a few pickled veggies on the side, included with the burger and not as an extra purchase, as a palette cleanser. I was a bit underwhelmed to be served just a burger as I usually do expect a small portion of fries or sauces with it. The blackened sweet potato was delicious; I especially enjoyed the avocado sour cream and crispy onions on top. They balance out the flavours. However I don’t recommend pairing it with the mac & cheese burger as it makes the whole meal much heavier. A lighter side like the seasonal green veg is a better option (although the veg could be steamed for a little longer and seasoned a little more.) I didn’t taste the truffle mac & cheese as I’m not a fan of truffle– however, others at my table who tried it enjoyed it to the fullest with no negative feedback. So can recommend this if you’re a fan of truffle; but again, bear in mind it is a heavy side and a decent portion. The elderflower cooler was refreshing, but a lot more sour than expected. With elderflower drinks I expect that concentrated sweetness, but this primarily tasted like lemonade in my humble opinion. Aside from this, very lovely service and an even more relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant. It’s not an incredibly vegetarian/vegan friendly place, but I would gladly return to try the other options on the menu.

We had an amazing experience at the longhorn. My partner and I were visiting Cornwall as he’s originally from Truro so we came down to revisit places that were significant to his upbringing. After a full day of walking around and taking in everything Truro has to offer we were very much so looking forward to our reservation at the longhorn, we are big steak eaters so for us this restaurant was the most important one of our holiday. From the minute we walked in the service was spectacular, casual yet professional which is exactly what we love. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean and very well decorated. We started with cocktails, as a former bartender who worked in Michelin plated restaurants, I can be fussy. The cocktail menu read well and from the first sip they had me locked in. It was the perfect apéritif. Starters we shared scallops. They were spectacular, portion sizes were spot on and we were looking forward to what we had to come. The star of the show, we both ordered the fillet steaks and shared a side of grilled truffle mac & cheese and confit garlic and smoked butter mash. I have no words, the steaks were cooked perfectly, I ordered mine rare, my partners was medium rare, they were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The mac & cheese was the best we’ve ever had. Desserts we shared tiramisu and ricotta doughnuts, again flawless, The Longstore served us the best meal we’ve ever had, everything was exactly to our taste Huge thank you to the chefs and staff at The Longstore for giving us such an exceptional dinner and creating a magical memory we can fondly look back on from our visit to Cornwall. We will most definitely be returning!

It was a last-minute decision to have lunch at The Longstore in Truro as the original restaurant we booked cancelled on us an hour before due to a problem with their gas line. Friends recommended The Longstore (with one of them giving a glowing recommendation for their burger, which my husband had) and we decided to make a reservation 30 minutes before we were led to our table. Mentioned on the reservation that it was my birthday and was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco! Service provided was good and attentive, and the food was very very good with generous portions - the chunk of Pastrami (it was that generous!) in the burger was delicious, the salsa verde as a dressing of the belly pork I ordered was very tasty (I had 2 slices of belly pork!), and my side of truffle macaroni & cheese was a revelation. My husband could not give a better recommendation - we will definitely be coming here again!"

I've discovered the place by mistake but it was the best mistake ever. From outside it looked cozy, warm and chill, perfect for a date. I went in and we had the best date, with incredible delicious food and amazing cocktails. The staff was very friendly and committed, they helped with the table we wanted, made great recommendations and took care of us for the entire date. We will definitely come back a few more times.
Alexandru A — Google review
Great food. The price matches the quality I would say. But if you want 'bang for buck' avoid the seafood/fish dishes. It's expectantly lite but similarly priced to the other options. I shared some of my pork belly with my seafood obsessed partner. If we'd both paid for fish meals we would have been disappointed. If she hadn't chosen a fish deal I would have been in trouble finishing all of mine! Either a price reduction or quantity change is needed for seafood. The cocktails are excellent. *The knife in my photo is deceptive. It was larger than the usual knife and makes the dish look smaller than it was. I only marked it 4 for atmosphere as we were by the front door and it was an oddly cold day for this time in March. The staff and setting couldn't bee faulted.

Fabulous little place attached to Waitrose with lovely, fresh local produce. We ordered Christmas meat from the butchers (excellent quality and price) and some bits from the deli to collect on Christmas Eve. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Emma for her coordinating and communication, it was a very easy service to use.

A truly glorious shop that highlights a vast array of amazing Cornish produce. The staff are friendly, the shop is clean, and there's an excellent selection beyond 'just' food.

Exceptional food and quality, showcasing the very best of Cornwall. Stayed for 2 weeks in Newquay but visited the Truro store of Waitrose, and this is inside and is a little gem. If you want quality and don't mind paying a little more, then this is definitely for you! Bought Ribeye steak from butchers and best I've ever eaten, along with some beautiful quiches and wonderful cakes. Will be returning for sure.

Concerned to note having spent £10 on a cheese sandwich and a green tea that I had not bought the whole café. The sandwich might have been described as "deli" but was preprepared and served with a few green leaves and fewer crisps.
Malcolm M — Google review
Very popular and a large variety of local produce across all types of products (oil, sauces, honey, chocolate, vegetables, wine and beer etc). There is an excellent butcher, fishmonger, cheese counter and fresh deli counter with salads, lasagna, curry, and so much more. Cafe is reasonably priced but can get very busy peak times. Waitrose is attached so you can easily do the rest of shopping after your visit.
Ali M — Google review
Smaller than expected though with a large Waitrose attached. One hour is plenty of time to thoroughly explore the local food selections of which there’s a great variety. Freshly baked crusty bread, cakes and bakes, vegetables, fresh fish, fresh meat cuts, a deli counter, lots of preserves, sauces, honey, chocolate are all available. The cafe serves Tregotham tea and a nice apple juice with a floral after-note. Pasties and chunky sausage rolls are fairly standard flavour wise. Sandwiches are large, filling portions served in fresh crusty bread and the soup is excellent quality and served with a single slice of fresh crusty bread and butter. The car park is max stay 3hrs and it’s the Waitrose car park not the poorly signed first car park which is council owned but separate to the park and ride.
FlyingPanda — Google review
We buy our meat including bacon and sausages from there which is superb. We spend £100 each time we go which fills our freezer right up for a month. Not impressed with the homemade pies or the sandwiches. They are disappointing. Not sure why.

Skinner's brewery is just the best, super nice atmosphere amazing ales, and just great. There's boots inside and stools + benches, or sit outside all lit up and lovely. Would recommend Betty Stoggs, Porthleven and Lushingtons 🍻🍺🍻👌💪. We also got some cans from the shop to takeaway - so will be having Cornish Blonde, Cornish Trawler and some more Stoggs at home 💪👌🍺! Awesome! ☺️

We spent a lovely while in this beautiful place. Dogs are very welcome so long as they are on a lead. Even on a dull day in September there were still plenty of waterlilies blooming, delightful maples showing different autumn colours, pampas grass, lots of lily ponds, dragonflies, birds and a little woodland walk. We didn't see another soul there but they've done an amazing job and created a splendid water garden that does them proud. There are bits for children to do too. 😊

Restaurant
Nestled near the serene lily ponds of Shortlanesend, Penrose Kitchen is a hidden gem in Cornwall's dining scene. Chef Ben Harmer's award-winning cuisine has garnered praise for its exceptional quality and creativity. The restaurant prides itself on offering countryside fine dining with a focus on locally sourced and homegrown ingredients. Embracing a nose-to-tail approach, the menu showcases inventive dishes featuring lesser-used cuts and imperfectly perfect elements.
Came to cornwall for the weekend and went here on Saturday for dinner for a anniversary meal with my husband. And WOW.... the meal was incredible, cocktails were amazing and the staff couldn't be more helpful and welcoming. Would 100% recommend this restaurant. When we go back we will definitely be returning.

Having lived in Truro for over three years, I really don't know why it has taken us so long to find Penrose Kitchen. But I am very glad did. We visited on a balmy Saturday evening, dined outside to the back drop of lily ponds, cows lowing, and bats flying. It's probably the most peaceful restaurant in which I've ever dined. The wine list is imaginative and includes a refreshing Hungarian sparkling which we took as an aperitif. The food is beautifully presented and tastes even better than it looks. My local plaice was a delight, but my husband's veal exceeded all expectations. And the owner and staff were very accommodating and took care to make us welcome. Do pay Penrose a visit, I am sure it won't disappoint.

Really special place. Our first meal out post lock-down and I cannot overstate how impressed we were with the entire experience. The service was outstanding and we felt so welcome from the moment we stepped through the door (greeted by the hostess, the waitress and the chef). The atmosphere was so lovely and the decking out the back overlooks some beautiful landscaped ponds and fields. I can't remember the last time I visited a restaurant that was so peaceful and calming. The food and drinks were exceptional, with local produce (in some cases very very local owing to the the allotment at the back of the restaurant) being the star of the show! Not a bad thing to say. Thoroughly impressed. Thanks for a wonderful visit.

Sams in the City is a popular restaurant located in Truro, Cornwall, known for its award-winning seafood dishes and diverse menu. The modern setting offers a vibrant atmosphere where guests can enjoy cocktails from the bar. Upstairs, there's a more sophisticated cocktail bar for those seeking a calmer ambiance. The bistro has received praise for its beautiful interior and pleasant staff, offering generous portions at reasonable prices.
Lovely meal and freindly staff! Unfortunately, they didn't have some of the stuff available on the menu that night. Mums lasange was delicious! If I was to go back I would try a burger as they looked great!

Booked a table for a family get together. Not been here before but had it on good recommendation that it was an ok place to go. We were seated quickly and offered the menu etc. Drinks arrived swiftly as did the food. I personally wasn't too impressed with my main meal (prawns). Portion was meagre and it didn't come with the correct dressing and it wasn't cheap. As the main meal of the day I was left still feeling peckish. Puddings were ok I suppose but my daughter's was mainly made up of squirty cream. Probably wouldn't bother going again.

The atmosphere is really nice and welcoming, and the place itself is lovely. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous, which we really enjoyed. The staff are wonderful – very friendly and attentive, making sure customers feel well taken care of. A great experience overall!

We stumbled on Sam's, as just visiting for the day. Very attentive staff, helpful and friendly. Great cocktails, fantastic selection of wines by the glass as well as by the bottle Most to rave about is the food. Highly recommend the seafood Thai curry. Reasonable prices compared to where we live, so excellent value in today's climate.

The seafood feast for two was immense! Really friendly service and the food was delicious. Loads of pre prawns under those mussels too.

What a pleasant surprise. I came across Sam,s in the City by chance. Initially, I wasn't overly inspired by the menu in the window, but I quite fancied the steak. I loved the layout and vibe of the bar/dining area, and the staff were great at looking after me: a solo diner. As you can see from the photos, the portions are very generous - I had to admit defeat on my main course and left some chips. The steak came out perfectly cooked with a delicious amount of seasoning (I very rarely get a sauce) - I honestly couldn't fault it. I think this is also a great place to go for families. Enjoy!!

My husband and I had a lovely time here last night. The food was absolutely amazing, such generous portions! We felt guilty we couldn't finish because the food was so good. We had the sharing Charcuterie board to start and the Sharing Fish platter for main. It was perfect. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Dark and Stormy as a drink also! 😁 Thank you for a lovely evening Sam's in the City!

Another super night at Sam’s in the City. Booked out the private room upstairs for a Hen Night which is such a lovely space and well worth the little bit extra it costs. Sophie & Ben were absolutely fantastic helping us put up decorations and so friendly - nothing was too much trouble - even the mix tape as background music was a perfect choice. The food all came out at the same time and noone was left waiting even though there were 19 of us. The chef also popped up to see how everything had been. Great team and great place that I’d recommend to anyone. Thank you again as we all had a really great night.

British restaurant
Trennick Mill is a historic site that originated from the suggestion of prominent Truro society members in 1864 to create a pleasure ground for the well-being of citizens. The park, known as Boscawen Park, took shape in the late 1800s and included the popular Mill House, also referred to as the Junket House due to its association with the famous Cornish dessert.
Our 2nd visit here to meet friends who live nearby. A warm welcome by lovely staff. Excellent coffee & food, reasonably priced. Clean & comfortable. A lovely open fireplace making it cosy on a cold day. Table reservations available & recommended at busy times. Nice produce on sale. Free parking nearby & a pleasant walk on a fine day alongside the Truro River to Sunny Corner.

What a wonderful place to stop for a spot of lunch! This place is absolutely gorgeous - near a lovely duck pond and just across the road from a decent sized play area for little ones The food was delicious, and the staff took our dietary needs into account, and suggested appropriate alterations - they were also attentive and friendly the restaurant itself was clean and there was a decent amount of seating both inside and outside Well worth a visit!
Danny V — Google review
Apparently the owner isn’t bothered about this review. Nobody reads reviews anyway! So here is my review that nobody will read anyway… We were at the park and had to get lunch. It was close by so we went in, we’re given a table and served quickly. Told about a wait on food which we were fine with and carried on. The waitress was distracted by an emergency on a nearby table and my son had ordered the ham, cheese and pineapple pizza off the main menu. The cheese and pineapple pizza (which we hadn’t ordered) came out for my son and we assumed ham was hiding under the cheese. It wasn’t. We asked the waitress why there was no ham on the pizza, she bought out a plate of ham!! On leaving, we mentioned to the staff that our child didn’t like the pizza, it wasn’t what we ordered and could we have our £8.95 refunded because 1) it wasn’t what we ordered and 2) it’s a cheese and pineapple pizza! The waitress who took our order said no refund as we hadn’t mentioned anything before, we actually did and that’s why we were delivered a plate of ham! She went to find out from owner and apparently because they’d sold 11 pizzas and had no complaints they wouldn’t give a refund or even a partial refund. I said it wasn’t a complaint about the pizza, it was about not getting what we ordered. Out comes the owner! She said the order was read back to us (it wasn’t due to ongoing emergency on another table) and it’s our fault. Well, it’s not our fault though is it! It was their mess up and we paid for cheese, pineapple and bread (it looked pretty RANK!) and we told them this and she got uptight that I was calling their food rank. Well, if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck… Tourist trap. Not looking after locals who keep them going through the cold wet winters. Absolutely diabolical, non existent customer service! The owner is what makes the business and even though the other staff did what they could and agreed with us not getting what we ordered and getting a refund, the owner said no and got aggressive! As soon as she came out the kitchen she was determined to argue instead of talking rationally about it which is shocking as an owner/manager! Anyway, I won’t get a reply to this as “they don’t respond to negative reviews” and again, “nobody reads reviews anyway!”. What an amazing attitude to get by in business in a cost of living crisis. Puts me right off even spending money out on substandard food!

Good food friendly staff located adjacent to nature reserve and Riverside walks. Ice creams a large range. The ramblers lunch incorporates an excellent salad n home made cheese scone. The quiche is full of chunks of ham and mushrooms and home made.

Stopped in for a cream tea. The scone was so soft and warm and very delicious. Nice, easy walk from the heart of Truro along the river allowing life to slow down just a bit.

First time eating at The Mill. Took my elderly mother who loved the menu and enjoyed the prawn sandwich. I had previously called and asked about vegan options and the waitress was extremely helpful and advised me of several options. I had the open mushroom, spinach and vegan cheese sandwich with salad. It was delicious and the same waitress offered me balsamic as a dressing as I was told the regular dressing contained honey. All the waiting staff were friendly and efficient and my mum and I will definitely be returning again soon for a light lunch.

Truro Tandoori Indian Restaurant & Takeaway

Restaurant
Truro Tandoori, formerly known as Baba, is a charming Indian restaurant located on Lemon Street in Truro. The traditional wood-panelled restaurant offers a relaxed dining experience by candlelight across two levels. The menu features unique recipes and cooking methods that create enticing aromas and flavors from spices and herbs. Visitors praise the restaurant for its welcoming atmosphere, quick and kind service, and delicious, generously portioned dishes that are not overly spicy.
An absolute gem in the heart of Truro. From the moment you step through the doors, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The service is truly second to none—attentive, polite, and delivered with impeccable etiquette that enhances the overall dining experience. The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with authentic flavors and prepared with evident care and expertise. Whether you're a fan of rich, creamy curries or prefer something spicier, Truro Tandoori has something to tantalize every palate. The naan bread is perfectly fluffy, the rice fragrant, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. It’s rare to find a restaurant that excels equally in food, service, and ambiance, but Truro Tandoori does so effortlessly. If you're looking for a dining experience that leaves you satisfied in every sense, look no further. Highly recommended!

Just visited this Indian restaurant in Truro and was seriously impressed! We had the lamb tikka – perfectly succulent and tender – along with a balti that was beautifully spiced and seasoned. The paneer and onion bhajis were also spot on, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Service was exceptional too: friendly, attentive, and surprisingly quick without compromising quality. Every dish arrived piping hot, even the plates were warmed – a really nice touch. I’d highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back
Nigel P — Google review
I have read most of the reviews on here and await a scathing response from the owner. As an ex-midlander, I’ve had my fair share of curries. In my experience, the portion sizes were absolutely fine (although the naan bread was quite small, doughy and cut into pieces). We ordered: 1 x Lamb Garlic Sugandha 1 x Lamb Mustard Masala 1 x Coriander Chicken 1 x Garlic Rice 1 x Pilau Rice 1 x Garlic Naan 3 x half cokes 2 x bottles of cobra Total £124 In fairness, the food was tasty but had little/no spice. I explained to the waiter that I liked my food madras hot and he recommended the mustard masala. It was sweet and lightly spiced but was more like a korma. Once we were served our food, we were not approached during our meal and asked how the food was (even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy). After the meal I explained this to the waiter (middle aged guy with ponytail) and he said it couldn’t have been that bad because I ate it. I didn’t say the food was bad, it just lacked spice. My main issue here is the price of drinks. £5 for half a Coke, £9 for a bottle of cobra. Unbelievable. Correct me if I’m wrong, but these have to be the most expensive drinks in Truro. The only draught beer was Carlsberg (no thanks), so had to go for a bottle of cobra. Draught Staropramen at the Alverton and draught Peroni at the Daniel are way cheaper. If I’d have read the reviews prior to my visit, I wouldn’t have booked here. I’m astounded by the owners responses to any slight criticism. Even when given a 5 star review, he only responds to the small critiques in those reviews. Criticism’s are there to be taken on board and acted upon. Not to be defended and responded to in such a derogatory manner. I won’t be returning here, simply for the drinks prices, the lack of spice/heat in the food and the staff’s responses to negative comments (no matter how small). This owner needs to learn how to take constructive criticism and act upon it. Our overall experience was fair and if the food had more spice and the drinks were cheaper I’d recommend giving it a try. But seeing the owner’s previous responses, he will just moan about the running costs and overheads, he’s not making any money and I know nothing about running a restaurant or cooking quality Indian food.

Horrible Experience at Truro Tandoori. We group of friends were visiting Cornwall for first time and it was our first day where we decided to visit Truro Tandoori expecting to spend a good evening but it was a disaster experience at due to the extremely rude behavior of staff member Shashadurama (middle-aged man with long plaited hair). From the moment we walked in, he seemed unwelcoming and dismissive. When we asked him about parking, he rudely answered and showed no interest to help us or suggest where can we go to park. Just nothing at all. We settled in but things didn't get better, when we asked for tap water, Shashadurama seemed hesitant and repeatedly suggested we order mineral water instead which felt like an unnecessary upsell. We all felt his behaviour was little weird but we chose to let it be and have a good evening . But things started getting worse every minute passed. When we made some enquiry to him about the menu regarding the spices level and portion sizes, his behaviour turned aggressive. He started to respond in charging and mean tone, and pointed fingers continuously while speaking. Later in just no moment he snatched the menu from our hands and told us to leave if we have so many questions. This is a completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. I don’t think it was wrong to expect from him to have some sense of hospitality and help us choose right dish to order. After this horrible interaction we all were taken aback and left from there immediately. It ruined our mood and the wasted a lot of our time. Given this horrific experience, I would not recommend Truro Tandoori to anyone until they work on their staff's behavior and prioritize customer satisfaction. Rude and aggressive staff can quickly tarnish a restaurant's reputation, and unfortunately, Truro Tandoori falls into that category.

We can not rate this place high enough , we made an order online and always ready for pick up. Staff and always lovely and very helpful. And the food is amazing with and the menu is huge. Parking is easy and lot of parking near by

If this was my local Indian, I would definitely use it again. It had a very extensive menu selection - a lot more than some I've seen. You can pick your meat, cheese, fish or veg and put it with anything. The food was delicious. The service staff were attentive but not overly so. The restaurant decor was very pleasant but wasn't a theatre experience. However, the food taste and service make up for that. Plus it's only just down from the Plaza cinema. So great for a pre or post meal film.

Nice food but very over priced - I travel round the country with work and this is the most expensive Indian restaurant I’ve been in. £9.00 for a large bottle of cobra beer is completely out of order.
