The Rising Sun is a charming pub located in Truro, offering an intimate gastropub setting with a focus on local and seasonal fare. The a la carte menu features upscale Cornish seafood and meat dishes, including their renowned ale-battered fish and chips served with homemade tartar sauce and crushed peas. Despite its proximity to the city center, the pub exudes a wonderfully rural atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy an award-winning menu and a great selection of beverages in this dog-friendly establishment.
Good Lord the roasts are great! Gravy is the best I’ve ever tasted and this roast was up with the very best in the UK!
Rich F — Google review
Not as good as expected if other peoples reviews are to be taken into consideration. We being 3 people had 2 beef which were overpowered by the smoked element of the cooking process which left an aftertaste in my mouth and a lamb which was nice with no issues. The beef was also very fatty, I know that chefs say fat is flavour but we found it too much in our opinion and we had the cauliflower cheese which was very good. The service was below par as had to ask for spoons to serve up the separate vegetables and cauliflower cheese but only got one, I know we could have asked for more but at these prices we shouldn’t have to. Also no horseradish or mint sauce was produced and again had to ask for them although they are stated on the menu as part of each dish. The table water wasn’t chilled which from the tap is a bonus in masking the chemicals in it. Had 2 puddings which were very nice. I don’t think we will go again anytime soon and if we do it’ll be for the general menu. The pub itself is very quaint and a lovely atmosphere. Possibly just an off day maybe but again at these prices it shouldn’t happen. FOOD 3 SERVICE 3 ATMOSPHERE 5

We had a lovely meal here last week with the steak special on Friday. The food was great, a sharer for two with a sauce each and two sides each. The portion was very generous! The puddings were delicious (rhubarb panacotta dish pictured) We went with our daughter and dog and it was a great venue for both of them

Dined at The Rising Sun for my birthday dinner with my husband and dog whilst holidaying nearby. Definitely up there as one of the best pubs or restaurants I’ve eaten at. Food was delicious, wine list fantastic and service 10/10. Highly recommend and will definitely be back if we’re in the area again.

Came in for a Sunday roast this evening. We sat on the tables outside. The waiter came out and gave us our menus and then forgot about us! We were left for 25 mins so I went in and politely asked ‘have you forgotten about us?’ To which he replied ‘yes’ and was apologetic, said he’d give us a side of cauliflower cheese for free. Meal came and that was nice enough, roast potatoes as tough as old boots though! Then waited further 15 mins for our plates to be cleared and to ask for dessert menu! At this point my mum was getting frustrated. I ordered a latte, it never came. When the bill came the latte was still on there so had to get that taken off. All in all a sense of no management whatsoever., and like the staff didn’t care or had had enough. I’d guess there was no manager on this evening. The young girl waiting on tables alongside the guy with the thumb ring, she was sweet but lacked any clear customer service skills, we had to ask for spoons to serve the vegetables. Honestly, the service was just so not up to scratch. The food wasn’t great, wouldn’t return. The waiting staff were all giggling and chatting behind the bar when I went in to see if they’d forgotten us. Have fun at work, of course, but not if it means you forget what you are actually supposed to be doing! Only go if you’ve got loads of time, don’t mind having to pester them to serve you!
S K — Google review
I have been to the Rising Sun multiple times for drinks but last week finally we went there for a date night. We had a lovely seating. The service was outstanding. But the highlight was the food. It started with the outstanding parmesan and chorizo bread rolls which were so delicious. We then ordered the scallops for starters - which was fresh, and delicious. For mains, we had the duck and 10-hr lamb. Both were outstanding but we were in love with the lamb. For dessert, we went with the trifle. Each dish was delicious. We had tried multiple times to book a Sunday roast here but for our lack of prior planning, we thought a dinner would be a good idea and we were absolutely right!!

Blink and you will miss this place but it would be a big mistake Dropped in here for a quick bite to eat- wow Fish of the day, spectacular Ate in Jamie's 15 at Watergate 3 nights ago, was on par with that- it was that good Update 7 years later and still fantastic I hear the owners are moving on which is s tragedy as the food and service is simply top draw
Dave P — Google review
A nice meal, I had catch of the day with fondant potato, which happened to be hake. It was very nice, service was good, arrived quick enough. Only reason it's 4 star not 5 is that the portion was too small for the price charged. The hake portion was very small, and the meal wasn't rich enough to get away with such a small amount. The duck on the other hand seemed to be a decent portion. The panacotta was very good.

Truro Cathedral is a stunning Victorian Gothic Revival Church located in the heart of Truro, Cornwall. It was constructed in 1880 and is the only cathedral built in the UK after St Paul's in London. The cathedral boasts three spires, with the tallest reaching 250 meters high, making it one of just three cathedrals in the country to have this feature.
Very interesting and nice looking Cathedral in Truro centre. Well worth a visit and entrance is free. Nice little square with benches at the main entrance.

Fabulous cathedral, lovely stain glass, marble fonts, stunning ceilings & decor. Great display of tapestries depicting Genesis & how God created the world. Well worth a visit. Free to enter, but encouraged to make a donation.
Julia H — Google review
Medieval Gothic might be preferable but for the County Town, the Victorian version works just fine. Some wonderful art treasures and connections with the past. It's the light which impresses and the private chapels. The 19th century glass is superb
Peter S — Google review
Great experience at the weekend as the Cathedral had a silent disco. Three DJs light's and lazors. Also a bar for drinks. Fabulous evening. With a huge planet Mars suspended from the ceiling.

absolutely beautiful and fantastic cathedral not as big as so many in the UK however has a certain charm to it has all the usuall things you would expect no toilets disabled accessible beautiful vicar and a lovely volunteers that help the cathedral run keep up the good work
Matthew B — Google review
The Cathedral is great, although our visit was somewhat spoilt by the annual judges and solicitors etc awards night being set up in the main area. Loud sound check music and disco lights isn't what you expect in a church.
Phil S — Google review
Beautiful cathedral, well worth visiting if you have the time.
Luke B — Google review
This cathedral is a beautiful place to visit I visited Truro Cathedral with my family this summer and was amazed by its stunning Gothic Revival architecture. The intricate stained-glass windows and tall spires created a peaceful and awe-inspiring atmosphere. The interior was beautifully maintained, and the staff were welcoming and informative. We enjoyed the quiet reflection time and the lovely surrounding area. A truly memorable visit and a must-see landmark in Cornwall.

Fantastic service. Fabulous food. Wonderful service. The reception we got on arrival is beyond compare. The room is spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We popped into the restaurant early on a Saturday night, and they were able to squeeze us in, we had the steak sizzlers, so tasty and filling, all the staff we friendly and accommodating.

Great for theatre dinner, quick service and generally very good food n drink (just the odd part of one dish and one cocktail that wasn’t perfect). Even got 10% off for having theatre tickets. Attentive staff

Took our Dad to Manning's for his 80th last Saturday night and wasn't disappointed. Wow. Absolutely stunning restaurant at this hotel. The food was outstanding. If I could afford to eat here each week I would. Haha. Friendly funny staff made us feel at home and kept the drinks coming. Right in the centre of Truro Cornwall this place can't be missed.

Great lunchtime visit. Nice varied lunch menu with a separate specials menu. Food was quickly served even though the pub was very busy. All food was well presented and tasty. Both the chicken ceasar and the chicken and bacon salads were very nice enjoyable bowlfuls. They served a good black coffee too. Overall - good food, friendly staff and good service. Would certainly visit again.
Gary E — Google review
This is an ideal place for some decent pub grub, with plenty of seating. The food was good, and the service was great - friendly and efficient. I had the lasagne, which had a gooey cheesy top, rather than my preference for a crispier cooked topping, but other than that it was fine. My husband had the pie and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apple pie and custard was delicious. There's no pub car park but there is parking nearby.
Carole A — Google review
Locals, went for a few drinks on a Wednesday at 9:30pm and told " I know you're having fun but keep the noise down" there was hardly anyone else in. We spent over £150+ at the bar. Never again!

Very nice pub. Very spacious and airy. Made to feel very welcome on arrival and went in good sun terrace at rear. Drinks, food, toilets, atmosphere and service all excellent. We had just the pulled pork nachos between us, and this was plenty and good. All staff very friendly and would definitely recommend!

Amazing Sunday lunch with friends! Great food and value, staff were amazing too. Just attentive enough

Went to The Wig and Pen for the first time today as a party of 4. All had Roast Pork and it was absolutely delicious! Generous portions and the best red cabbage and roast potatoes I think we've ever had! 😋 Lovely staff- really friendly and nice modern decor in the restaurant. We will definitely be back! Special mention to the KP Jack! 👌🏼 Thanks to you all!
Lisa P — Google review
Great welcome even though I arrived a little earlier than their official opening time. The food was ordered smoothly with friendly staff. It came quickly and was delicious. More fine dining than traditional “pub grub” with very reasonable pricing. Well worth a visit.
Lizzie P — Google review
After a last minute decision to have a roast lunch before leaving Truro, we found the Wig and Pen on Google. When we arrived we were shown to a quiet table ideal for two at the back of the pub. We ordered drinks, but the staff member told us there would be a bit of a wait as there was a large table about to order. We weren’t in a rush, so decided to wait. Fifteen minutes later we order two roast lunches. We didn’t have to wait too long for our meals which came out smelling and looking delicious. The vegetables were served separately. We can honestly say it was the best meal we had all weekend. The food was amazing, and our plates were cleared! Deciding we needed dessert too, we had the vegan stone mess and the strawberries and cream. Oh my word! Both again were delicious but the standout was the basil ice cream with the strawberries cream! Amazing! We cannot recommend this place enough, incredible meals and really attentive staff!
Susan W — Google review
Great food, very friendly staff and good background music too ☺️ we were looking for regular pub food and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious summer salad and tapas 👍🏻 would definitely recommend it!

Got out of rain to grab a drink and food. What a lovely pub. Good cask beers. Staff were friendly. Food was top notch. Small menu but done exceptionally well. Enough variety to cater for most tastes. Recommend a visit.

My old teenage haunt! I'm glad it hasn't changed too much in the last 30 years from the traditional pub it always was. Nice to note it's dog friendly too. Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere.

We’ve been in Cornwall for 4 nights and had dinner here twice! An amazing and delicious seafood restaurant: excellent cooking and very fresh seafood itself. The flat iron steak is great as well. very friendly and attentive service, highly recommend!

I walked in during dinner time, and although there were no available tables, the staff kindly offered me a seat at the bar table. I ordered scallops, mussels, and king tiger prawns as starters—all of which were fresh and delicious. For the mains, I had the mushroom truffle pasta and the fish of the day, which was John Dory. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly, and the overall experience was excellent. Highly recommend!

Hooked: A Welcome Return and Delightful Dining Experience We recently revisited Hooked after a few years, and we were pleasantly surprised by the changes! The interior has been redesigned, with the open kitchen relocated to expand seating capacity. Despite the changes, the staff remain as helpful and welcoming as ever. We were particularly grateful to see the addition of a ramp at the entrance and an easily accessible disabled toilet, which was very helpful as my wife recently had foot surgery. For starters, we both enjoyed the delicious mussels. Hooked was incredibly accommodating, preparing my wife's portion with a dairy-free sauce due to her intolerance, and it was still absolutely delightful. Our main courses were the fish curry and the shellfish platter for one. Both dishes were lovely, and the shellfish platter offered a generously sized portion. My only minor quibble was the slight messiness of de-shelling the large prawns. The bread served with our meal was light and tasty, though we found the sea salt a little too prominent for our preference. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal, and we found the prices to be reasonable. It's also worth noting that Cornwall Pard cardholders receive a 15% discount. Thank you, Hooked, for a wonderful dining experience! .

We had a very lovely dinner here. The food was tasty and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The highlight for us was finding Hake Kiev on the menu – as Ukrainians, it was such a joy to enjoy this dish away from home, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!
Veronika F — Google review
The food was fantastic. Loved everything we tried. Would recommend booking as we turned up for dinner without booking and they didn't have space for us so we had to come back an hour later.
Jusna B — Google review
We visited Hooked for a pre theatre meal while in Truro and were very impressed. Loved the decor and the atmosphere in the restaurant and all the staff were so friendly and helpful, it has a great vibe. The food was so tasty, I had the Hake Kiev which was really good and tasted so fresh. Overall a great experience and will definitely be returning.
Fiona L — Google review
Had the most wonderful meal here with my wife and daughters during a holiday in the area. The service was fantastic and the place was buzzing despite it being early evening (6pm). The food was quite simply incredible. The crab soup I had was divine and the seafood platter (shared between my wife and eldest daughter) was filled with delicious and fresh delights. The mussels I had were some of the biggest I've ever seen (and delicious) and the service we received was exceptional - they couldn't have done more for us. One of the best meals we've had at a restaurant for a very long time. If you're in the area, see if you can get yourself a reservation. If you like seafood... I can't imagine you'd regret it.
Markus W — Google review
The good stuff first: The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. Service was prompt without feeling rushed, and everyone we interacted with seemed to care about making our visit pleasant. The atmosphere was lovely—inviting, nicely lit, and perfect for catching up over a meal. The not-so-good: Unfortunately, the food fell flat. Dishes arrived looking great, but the flavors were disappointingly bland. At one point, I found myself instinctively reaching for the salt… only to realize there wasn’t any on the table—which honestly summed up the experience pretty well. On top of that, portions were small, especially for the steep prices. Bottom line: Go for the friendly service and cozy vibe. Just don’t expect to be wowed by the food—or to leave completely full

Restaurant
The Cornish Vegan is a cozy cafe located in Truro, Cornwall, offering a variety of globally inspired comfort foods made entirely vegan. The owners, Rob and Graham, who are also vegan, take pride in using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients to create their delicious dishes and cakes. Whether you're craving mac n sheese or gluten-free tofu katsu, this restaurant has something for everyone.
Incredible place run by the most wonderful people. Food is absolutely delicious with something to suit everyone - from fresh and vibrant to warming and indulgent. I'm not vegan but have always loved the food here. Highly recommend - you will be very well fed and looked after, plus the interior/garden is stunning. Perfect for a cosy hot choc or a summers evening under the stars.

What a wonderful little gem in Truro. A very nice selection for vegans, gluten free, and it is very well priced, should be more expensive than it is! The restaurant itself is very clean and has a lot of space as well. Its LGBTQ+ friendly, and even better that they accept dogs as well! I should also mention the staff that served us (7/12/2024) was super friendly and helpful. Thank you.
Alexa B — Google review
I couldn't rave about this place more! The food, the decor, the atmosphere, and the staff were all incredible. Not to mention very very reasonably priced considering it being in the heart of truro. I've been itching to try a meal here for years and finally made it to which it did not disappoint. We came at lunch time so there was a smaller menu than in the evening, but still with more than pleanty to tempt anyone. Both my partner and I were blown away not only with the taste of the food but also the quality of the ingredients, the presentation, the quantity, even the crockery was lovely. Additionally, we were made to feel so incredibly welcome and looked after, the staff were an excellent testament to the cornish vegan. They were friendly, attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable, warm, and speedy though at no point did we feel rushed. I wish I could come regularly as I not only wanted to try everything on the menu, but would love to give the cornish vegan the patronage it deserves.

Went for dinner with family and had the carbonara, hash browns, burger and the stir fry. Food was absolutely amazing, good portions for prices, tasty and very filling. It was our first time trying proper vegan food and we were definitely pleasantly surprised. Service was brilliant, super friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a visit.
Sanam J — Google review
We had a wonderful meal here - it's a proper powerhouse for all things plant based so a real treat for vegans but at the same time, as it has such a wide range of dishes on the menu, it's also the perfect place to bring anybody who is just interested in trying some new flavours and ingredients. You'll find something to tempt you on the menu no matter who you are. Options span the range from a decadently delicious double stacked tower of vegan pastrami with smoked cheese, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and microgreens finished with sriracha mayo, to the Lunch Bowl bursting with colourful goodness and featuring sweet chilli tofu, lemon and dill marinaded carrots with homemade houmous alongside a range of epic vegetables and topped with a wasabi mayo dressing. The puds were seriously good too! The venue was relaxed and inviting, the team were super friendly and the food was 1st class. This one comes highly recommended as one of Cornwall's finest spots to indulge in original, delicious flavours and try some top notch plant based culinary magic first hand.

Great vegan restaurant that even the meat eaters enjoyed! One even said it was there favourite meal of our holiday! We are a group of 6 so booked ahead for a table and they were lovely on the phone to help accommodate us. Service was good and the food was great! As a vegan it was brilliant to have the choice of the entire menu! I went with the pasta of the day, which was mac and cheese and it was lovely. Two of the meat eater went for the chicken burger and loved it. Also another member who really enjoyed their had the mushroom fusion. Also a shout out for the gravy too. Everything was lovely, would recommend for all not just vegans.

Four different meals ordered, and all were absolutely delicious ! My wife is vegetarian so she just adored it, I’m a meat eater but it just doesn’t matter when food tastes as fantastic as this does ! Great service, price was surprisingly low, and even my trusty four- legged friend was brought a water bowl and a doggy biscuit on his own plate ! My daughter and her partner were extremely impressed and will return to the restaurant as they live locally. A big ‘thank you’ to all involved at The Cornish Vegan 👏🏼

As a non vegan - I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Who knew tofu could be so delicious. All the food was so filling too, we actually struggled to finish! The staff were so welcoming and lovely and it's a really cute place. Definitely recommend for a nice get together. The basket of feminine hygiene products in the bathroom was a really thoughtful little touch.

The Hall for Cornwall, also known as the HFC, is a renowned theatre in Truro that offers a diverse range of live performances including music, drama, dance, and comedy. Since its conversion in 1997, it has been captivating audiences with international touring productions and an annual panto. Originally Truro's Market House in the 18th century and later transformed into the City Hall, this historic venue now hosts a variety of shows from stand-up comedy to family-friendly musicals.
Staff were amazing when we came in with my mum who has lost her vision. They were very attentive and helpful. A lovely woman came up to us throughout the concert and checked in to see if there was anything they could help with. Thank you to the lovely staff working the waterboys show!!

Brilliant little venue with lots of local parking, warm friendly staff and some great acts, well worth a visit. Handy little 'spoons over the road too for those cheap pre show drinks. 😉🙂

I really enjoyed seeing a show here. As an agoraphobic I was worried but we were directed our seats, it was easy to find the toilets and exits and even though we had balcony seats I could see the stage without needing my long distance glasses. I'd happily go again, even on my own now! Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Saranne H — Google review
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the venue was very clean and well set out. There appeared to be mixed feelings of the unisex toilets, lots of comments from both men and women of how uncomfortable they felt. I am not sure I am a fan of the pre-ordered drinks being lined up on a long table with your name under, it's not clear how long they had been there, I won't be using that service again. Overall a wonderful evening was had

We went to see Derren Brown... It was fantastic.... Not allowed to say more except he blows your mind! Hall for Cornwall is a beautiful building in centre square of Truro. Will defoe go there more often. Staff friendly, organised. Shops all around you. Cathedral right there. Cobbled roads which get slippery when wet, where good walking shoes. Best way to get there is use park & ride. Cheap fares, discounts on group tickets, buses run every 15mins, loads of parking, not busy even for Saturday afternoon. It's easy to find park & ride on Google maps, takes you straight there. Had best day. Fabulous time had by all family.

It's always a pleasure to visit the Hall for Cornwall in Truro. A wonderful venue to stage some amazing plays, musicals and more. Check their website for upcoming events. I have to make a special mention for the unpaid volunteer ushers, on whom, the theatre depends. Well done ladies and gents!

Gold star to Ben from the access team for providing such helpful information on the phone & in person when I went to view the wheelchair spaces available, nothing was too much trouble. Booking is available online, in person & over the phone. The website offers wheelchair space dimensions for each seat space, which for someone like me (arctic lorry length) is much appreciated. The building itself clearly benefited from feedback from the disabled community. Large, open spaces in corridors & the cafe. Personally I would have liked to see more disabled spaces available, especially near the front of the stage, especially as this venue holds music events where the public could stand, totally blocking the view. The changing places toilet isn't the largest, but it does get plenty of green ticks for keeping the hoist fully charged, red cord hanging to ground level etc. If you like audio description with your toileting, you are in luck! My only other feedback would be to add the lift dimensions, although then Ben & I wouldn't have had such a lovely chat, who made me feel very welcome ;)

History Museums
Royal Cornwall Museum, located in Truro, is a treasure trove of art and culture. Established in 1818 by The Royal Institution of Cornwall, the museum showcases a diverse collection of over one million artifacts from around the world. Visitors can explore exhibits on minerals, wildlife, and the region's history. Notable highlights include an Egyptian mummy and the Rashleigh mineral gallery.
Highly recommend the exhibition currently running at the Royal Cornwall Museum, “Uncharted - Sea Journals of a Cornish Mariner” by artist Julia McKenzie who has created an amazing body of work inspired by her great-grandfathers sea diaries from the 1890s. The work is absolutely exquisite, the stories are incredibly moving and the history is so interesting. On until 2nd November. Plus at the RCM is the amazing new interactive Rocks and Minerals gallery.

This was our first visit, and we really enjoyed it! It’s a small but interesting museum in the heart of Truro. It took about an hour to walk through, and there was plenty to see. I really liked the old furniture and antiques. The museum is great for all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy.

I haven't been here since I was a kid when my mum used to take me and my brother every Friday after school to see the mummy! Absolutely fabulous building and is immaculate, the 80's exhibition brought back so much nostalgia 🥰 The staff were all amazing and we had a Learning Assistant come and talk to us about the paintings we were looking at, he was so knowledgeable and a credit to the team. Will definitely go back again and not leave it so long! Well worth a visit .

Wow! I was surprised with this museum. It's much bigger than I was expecting. My children loved exploring all the rooms and all the old artifacts. They especially enjoyed the Egyptian area. Children were free adult about 7.50 Has a cafe so you can chill and have a coffee. Have a little wonder in the small shop

A nice county museum, with interesting collections, nicely presented. The building is lovely, and quite accessible. Good museum shop, with an excellent cafe.
Peter B — Google review
Quite reasonably priced to get in, manages to avoid the cluttered appearance that can bedevil museums that try to get too much out on display. Informative, concise and worth a visit. Suggest allowing 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
Alex E — Google review
This museum was a disappointment. The exhibits were randomly grouped, the captions were inadequate, lacking detail, and sometimes factually incorrect. There was very little about Cornish history and quite a lot of wokeness about how awful the British empire was. The free local history museum in Bodmin is far better. Go there instead.

The Old Ale House, located in Truro, Cornwall, is a dark-wood haunt with beer-barrel tables offering house brews, flights, and tasting events. It's known for its live music scene featuring local talent and hosts jam nights every Monday as well as comedy nights and quiz nights. The bar by local brewery Skinners makes it a starting point for beer lovers while also offering a selection of wines and an elegant yet relaxed cocktail bar called On The Rocks.
A great place. I tend to pop in when I'm in Truro. USP = monkey huts in a barrel! Pick up a handful and cast the shells on the floor (this is encouraged). A great pub
TGG — Google review
Big and brash on the outside with lovely hanging baskets.....but it flatters to deceive! Inside, it's unimaginative and dark and dingy, and both the real ale and the lager were warm and not very palatable. Sad really because there aren't many pubs that serve Bass these days. They also tried to make it feel and look like a spit and sawdust pub by sprinkling sawdust on the floor....it didn'twork though. Nice clean toilets, though!!
Colin B — Google review
There was a good vibe, plenty of people in the pub. It's a popular pub, and I can see why. There is live music several times a week, gigs, open mics. I don't have any food, so can't comment. Its very much like an old style pub, sawdust on the floor. Low lighting, benches round tables, and lots of tables. Lots of wood, proper wood.
Rob G — Google review
Really nice pub - my sort of place. Probably the best pub in the city centre. Great range of ales on offer. Proper nice environment. Eclectic mix of customers. Dog friendly (and we had our medium sized doberhound with us). So good I went back by myself for a sneaky pint when the wife wasn’t looking. … but staff were quite cold and functional, and the prices were a bit steep (£18 for double g&t and pint) - guess it’s a sign of the times, with increasing taxes, business rates and utilities.

Awesome place, always a good vibe here on any night, and always something good going on. A band called 'Louna Rising' were on last night, excellent gig, great energy. Well done for seeing the potential in them and re-booking them!! I just had the best night out ever as a result of that, an excellent band in a great pub. Well done !

Ok Old style pub. It’s not a terrible place , and you can have a nice night here, they host several different recurring events. However It is starting to feel very worn down and dated , not in a charming way. Individual staff vary from nice and welcoming to grumpy and dismissive. They don’t do food.

Lovely pub. Barman very nice and walked me through beers with tasters.
Alistair T — Google review
Bit of a shame. Good staff, beer ok. Overpriced by far the most expensive pub we went in Truro. A little pretentious. Nice frontage, let down by the token rubbish sawdust on the floor. Obviously never seen a real spit and sawdust pub. So don't bother.

The Thomas Daniell, what can I say? It is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very friendly, polite, and very welcoming. Great beers, great food, a very nice pub, clean, lovely decor, a nice seating area at the front of the pub, and a beautiful flower garden. Cheers, Vince.

Went on a Friday night , firstly the place was busy but a nice busy the atmosphere was very nice it felt under control by the staff. To start we had the squid which was probably the best I’ve had , you can really tell it’s fresh. As for the mains I had the beef brisket which tasted great ! The gravy was a highlight. My partner had the fish and chips , chips were delightful and fish was pretty decent but nothing special . I thought the service was brilliant, very attentive and friendly. Didn’t catch our waiters name but he told us they were even a staff member down on the night , never would of guessed. Overall 5/5 experience

There are no words for how amazing the food is. I have never tasted anything by quite like this. I never want to get the taste out of my mouth. The presentation is so incredible. If I could I would kiss the chef whoever they are! DONT WALK RUN TO THIS PLACE. The crispy chilli beef and the ribs are on a different level. I will remember this day for the rest of my life. Thank you! The chef deserves so much credit. Staff are lovely and friendly too.

I had the ribs and schnitzel at Thomas Daniel and really enjoyed the food. The ribs were tender and full of flavor, while the schnitzel was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Generous portions and a nice balance of seasoning made it a satisfying meal. Definitely a good spot if you’re craving hearty comfort food.

As recently moved to the area and this place being our local we came here the other day for some lunch and it was beautiful so we booked to come for there Sunday lunch I ordered beef and to be honest when your paying basically £25 for a roast you kind of expect the beef to separate with no issue and be like butter whilst chewing however mine was tough as anything was given a steak knife to cut and even this was struggling to cut through it massively disappointed took it back to the bar can't fault the staff they took it off the bill no questions just highly disappointing will look elsewhere for a local Sunday roast in future plus very very minimal veg for nearly £73 for 3 roast and given on measeley portion of green veg and a tiny portion of cauliflower cheese never known a roast to not come with brocoli cauliflower carrots ? Was just a very underwhelming experience in my own personal opinion
Rob — Google review
Somewhat dissapointing. Went for Sunday lunch with a large party for my birthday. We were a little late to the table due to trouble finding somewhere to park, despite arriving 15 mins early (so would advise to arrive even earlier) The waiting staff were polite but felt a little slow (but it was busy) but found time to hang around at the bar. Food took quite a while to come out but again we were a large party, was a little over done (not burnt) but very brown , is the easiest way to explain. 1 piece of parsnip, some swede puree, a small dish of mixed greens (cabbage, leeks & a few petit peas) & an over done bowl of Cauliflower cheese. All served on a dark coloured plate in a dimly lit room, hence the discription of brown. Food wasn't terrible but didn't blow my mind for the £24 plate price ( + for extras). My husband loves over done food so was happy. I will say the highlight for me was the Sticky Toffee pudding it was amazing ! ( yes I know its brown, but it's meant to be) Would I go again ? Not for Sunday lunch but maybe try their normal menu.

Great Food, Disappointing Service: The Food: Excellent Quality and Speed The best part of our visit was definitely the food. Our meals arrived very fast, and the quality was very good. I ordered the steak and was extremely happy with the preparation. One small note on the steak: While the meal was delicious, I had to use a butter knife for the steak, which made it unnecessarily difficult to eat. A proper steak knife should definitely be provided. Service Needs Significant Improvement Unfortunately, the service detracted significantly from the dining experience. Initial Seating: Despite having a reservation, we were simply pointed to a table "over in the corner" rather than being properly seated. This felt dismissive and was not a great start. Lack of Follow-Up: After our table was cleared, the service essentially stopped. We were not offered dessert menus. We were not offered additional drinks while we finished our current ones. We sat for a significant period after the restaurant had quieted down, waiting for attention that never came. Getting the Bill: Ultimately, we had to go up to the bar to request the bill. When I mentioned the issues regarding the lack of follow-up service and the seating, the response was a simple, unhelpful "I'm sorry" with no attempt at resolution or further acknowledgment. Overall While the chef deserves high praise for the excellent food, the front-of-house service needs serious attention and training. The poor hospitality and lack of follow-through made the experience frustrating. I hope the restaurant addresses these issues, as they have the potential to be truly excellent with better service.

One of the best parks I've been to. Clean & loads of swings etc for kids. 2 full size football pitches with nets up & tennis courts. Changing rooms available & a lovely cafe aswell. And the view is amazing! Feels like you're abroad, not in the UK

I visited Boscawen Park with my son and we had such a lovely time. The play area is excellent for children with plenty of space to run around and explore, and it felt really safe. We stopped at the café afterwards, which was welcoming and had a good selection of ice creams. The pond nearby was stunning too. So many benches with a wide variety of ducks. A truly peaceful spot to sit for a while. The whole park is well kept, friendly and a great place for families.
Grant M — Google review
The biggest drawback to this park is the sewage treatment plant just across the river which wafts it’s fragrance across the park to varying degrees throughout the day, as you may imagine this is not conducive to picnics or al fresco dining. There is a good view of the cathedral which is quite picturesque for a couple of hours around high tide when the river is full but the rest of the time it’s an expanse of slimy mud. Good tennis courts which have to be pre booked a kids play park and toilets. Parking free at time of writing but it will come as no surprise that the council propose to start charging next year (2026)

Brilliant amount of space. Families and a mixture of ages around the grounds. Tennis courts at the end next to the car park. Cycling, football, rounders and cricket being played amongst other things. A God darned awful filthy place. The management should be ashamed of themselves, on second thoughts I don't think that anyone is managing the place as there's filth everywhere & the toilets 'whoa' with urine on the floor, no toilet rolls or seats are a complete disgrace and a harbour for infectious disease I'm sure. Bacteria in the bar areas from cross contamination must emanate from those toilets, the whole place is a sewer. I recommend to stay away.

Super cool venue with extra tasty food inside 😋.. Converted church now churning out a fine selection of bugers and other sides, this was our first visit and initially was curious due to it being an old church. Very trendy decor, awesome 80's playlist on in the background and the staff super friendly. We enjoyed our food and drinks here and would recommend it absolutely. Kids eat free Mon - Thursday 11 - 5 pm currently, so make the most of that. Burgers were delicious, onion rings were huge and tasty, chips were awesome and the kids enjoyed theirs, job done! I've been here twice. I'm pretty sure the first time I came, I ordered a chicken burger that didn't appear on the menu the second time around but regardless, both times, I was presented with one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. Such fresh, tasty, well seasoned chicken, fried in a batter in fresh oil that left a light, airy crisp coating. Perfection. Service is on point, accomodating, super friendly and prompt. All of this whilst set in what I believe is a converted church. Heavenly indeed

I visited here on the 18th June 25 at 20:00hrs and ordered the Smoky B (a brisket type burger). However what I actually got was thin strips of cold grey meat that tasted rancid, I have a feeling that there may be meat storage and hygiene issues on these premises and I have reported it to Cornwall Council. The signs were all there dirty tables, sticky floors and we should of turned around and legged it, but one of our group was insistent that we try it, rather than walk too far, this was a big mistake. Why do staff ask if you enjoy your meal and when you say no, still charge you? I paid because I actually felt sorry for the staff member, but my advice is to stay clear of this spot. If the owners of the company need to know how Brisket should be cooked they need to contact me and I will show them, it's very poor, please stay clear. the place is a disaster. Regards Shaun Kent.

The modern setting offers a vibrant atmosphere where guests can enjoy cocktails from the bar. Upstairs, there's a more sophisticated cocktail bar for those seeking a calmer ambiance. Booked a table for a family get together. Not been here before but had it on good recommendation that it was an ok place to go. We were seated quickly and offered the menu etc. Drinks arrived swiftly as did the food. I personally wasn't too impressed with my main meal (prawns). Portion was meagre and it didn't come with the correct dressing and it wasn't cheap. As the main meal of the day I was left still feeling peckish. Puddings were ok I suppose but my daughter's was mainly made up of squirty cream. Probably wouldn't bother going again.

What a pleasant surprise. I came across Sam,s in the City by chance. Initially, I wasn't overly inspired by the menu in the window, but I quite fancied the steak. I loved the layout and vibe of the bar/dining area, and the staff were great at looking after me: a solo diner. As you can see from the photos, the portions are very generous - I had to admit defeat on my main course and left some chips. The steak came out perfectly cooked with a delicious amount of seasoning (I very rarely get a sauce) - I honestly couldn't fault it. I think this is also a great place to go for families. Enjoy!!

My husband and I had a lovely time here last night. The food was absolutely amazing, such generous portions! We felt guilty we couldn't finish because the food was so good. We had the sharing Charcuterie board to start and the Sharing Fish platter for main. It was perfect. The staff were really friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Dark and Stormy as a drink also! 😁 Thank you for a lovely evening Sam's in the City!

Another super night at Sam’s in the City. Booked out the private room upstairs for a Hen Night which is such a lovely space and well worth the little bit extra it costs. Sophie & Ben were absolutely fantastic helping us put up decorations and so friendly - nothing was too much trouble - even the mix tape as background music was a perfect choice. The food all came out at the same time and noone was left waiting even though there were 19 of us. The chef also popped up to see how everything had been. Great team and great place that I’d recommend to anyone. Thank you again as we all had a really great night.

We have just had a delicious breakfast (2 breakfast muffins) that came out very fast. The drinks were made and delivered to our table in great time too. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in the door. Prices are good for the great quality food. We always enjoy the atmosphere in the lounges

Its part of the Lounge chain restaurants, so you know what you are getting. Subject to which of the restaurant locations you are at, the food is consistently good. The atmosphere was slow to quiet, but then it was a week day lunchtime. The welcome & service we could not fault, our drinks & food arrived at our table with no real wait time, we could bot fault the quality of food. Thanks to the team working lunchtime 26/09/25.

Awesome place. Loved the varied menu, so much choice. The restaurant itself was contemporary and pretty cool and chic. Plenty to look at in its design. We liked that you ordered via a QR code and paid that way too. Especially like that it was dog friendly as well.. Even inside. They even gave him a bowl of water when we arrived. The food itself was outstanding. I had sri lankan curry and my wife had lamb cofti flat bread. Wow... Lovely. The strawberry trifle was amazing for pudding! Hard to see how the meal could have been improved. Superb. Thank you.

Possible I caught them at a bad time but when I visited the service was incredibly slow, regardless of whether the order was put through the app or the bar. Food was okay but nothing special. Would not recommend the espresso martini or limoncello spritz, both tasted very artificial.
Abby — Google review
Times have changed. Upon entering you’re no longer greeted by a happy face, merely a sign propped up on an easel telling you to find your own table. You find your seat, menus already on the table where you’re encouraged to order on the app, the WiFi is terrible and there’s little signal to be found inside so I ended up just ordering at the bar. The lady serving me was lovely it must be mentioned, it was not a burden to take my order and she was happy to do so with a smile, and answered my questions well. (For management she was dark haired with a shaved side, on Monday morning at approximately 10.30, an excellent front of house waitress.) I sat back down and drinks arrived promptly, and then we waited approximately 45mins for our food. The place wasn’t busy, a quarter full at a guess, we couldn’t understand why we were waiting so long. By the time our food had arrived we’d finished our drinks long ago. No warning for the wait was given, and other tables were waiting just as long. We only ordered off the menu, no special requests. The waitress that served us our drinks and food was not quite so happy to be there. Slamming drinks and then the food down with force which was noticeable. When the food did arrive it wasn’t great, it was presented nicely but sadly that was as good as it got, my partners poached eggs tasted strongly of vinegar. My hash browns were over cooked as was the egg. Toast soggy and cold. Sausages were tasty however. Finally we used the toilet facilities before leaving and they were fairly grotty for 11.30 in the morning, the check sheet showed it had been checked but certainly nothing had been done about it. The mirrors were covered in sink splash back and the urinals smelt. I did check to ensure the marks on the mirror wasn’t ‘patina’ such is the decor, and it was not. Overall the only shining light was the waitress who took my order at the bar, I fear this would have been a 1 star if she wasn’t there. We won’t be returning in a hurry. Sorry.

Yak & Yeti Nepalese & Indian Restaurant is a family-run eatery located in the heart of Truro city, offering authentic flavors from Nepal and India. The restaurant boasts a relaxed atmosphere with terrace seating and is known for its wonderful food prepared by an experienced chef with 15 years in the industry.
Had a fantastic meal here last night. We were the first people in and our food was served quickly and freshly prepared. As a garlic lover, I was pleasantly surprised by the huge amount of garlic in the rice! All of the Nepalese dishes we tried were full of flavour and delicious. Staff were very understanding of our dietary requirements and double checked everything to make sure we could eat it. Most dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan at request which give you plenty of options on the menu if you are either. First time eating here but definitely not the last.

The food was average compared other Nepalese food in Plymouth. We got the chicken Chilli which was sour and the Lamb Napaalese curry which good. The portion size were small compared to the price charged.

Stopped by for a meal on our way back to St. Wenn after visiting St Michael’s Mount and Minack Theatre for the day, we have been nicely surprised by this little family run Nepalese restaurant. The quality of food and service are fantastic with very good prices! With variety of authentic Nepalese and Indian food to choose from from the menu we did very well with our selection on a mixture of mild to medium hot dishes including Dahl, monk fishes, lamb, chicken and aloo gobi! We enjoyed every single one of them!

Pub
Restaurant
The pub has basic food and drinks, with friendly and fast service. It is a good place to then go onto the cinema which is just across the road. The pub can be noisy on Fridays evenings, but this is likely due to its popularity with younger people.
We ventured in here at 1pm. Obviously, the lunchtime rush. It was very busy. Anyhow the staff were great. Rushed off their feet as always. However, it was good service. The food was hot and delicious. I had the special, sweet potatoe and chick pea curry. I think that was being served just for today. Anyway, all in all, it was a good experience.
Toni H — Google review
Maybe it’s just me being picky, but this is the fish I received today? Ok, this is spoons and the expectations aren’t that high, but this meal now costs over £11. I did complain, but was told all the fish was like that. Shame as we did go here pretty much every day before work. But now it’s not even worth it. Not even the coffee machines all work, so no wonder you get unlimited refills, coz you’ve gotta que for the first one! So getting a second is near impossible.

First time trying a curry at Wetherspoon and I have to say I was very impressed. I had a pint of Poretti and the beef Madras with a garlic naan, and it was excellent – full of flavour and a real bargain for what you get. The staff at Try Dowr were fantastic too, very helpful and friendly throughout. Definitely exceeded expectations and I’ll be considering Wetherspoons again next time we’re out.

I recently gave a Wetherspoon restaurant a very poor rating. I've had a very different experience here. Top service staff, quick service at the counter, the staff even pick up chips from the floor to make it look tidy. The food (wraps) was excellent. Although it was very busy, there's nothing wrong with staying in this restaurant. Good job, thanks guys.

Visiting truro for the night before work at the hospital the next day. Was ok to spend the evening there. Good quick service and really cheap prices and chilled out vib3. Fish and chips were very good

I called in last week on the curry day. I had the chicken tikka with a pint and although a reasonable price, the quality of the food was average at best. My main issue was with the bar staff. They got mine and my friends drinks wrong, both of them, and when we complained we were met with lots of eye rolling and exasperated sighs. They then asked why we hadn't mentioned it immediately (we had drank half) so we had to explain that we hadn't realised until we had drank some, which we thought was obvious. We won't be returning here again.

Quite a nice weatherspoons pub 😊. Lovely staff, very helpful. Toilets are upstairs as always. Clean and food was good. Not too noisy too!! Would definitely visit again.
Jane P — Google review
We visited your Truro Weatherspoons today as a birthday treat for myself. When our food reached our table, half of my daughters meal was on my husbands plate, which was inconvenient but we did a quick switch and began eating. We had ordered 2 extra bowls of chips and they were really cold. I did try and mention this to the waitress but she couldn't hear me as she was hoovering. I'm not quite sure why it was necessary to hoover at 5pm on a weekday but there you have it. No one checked in on us to see if our meal was ok so we just left the chips uneaten. My son (aged 22 with ID) then ordered himself a fruit cider but when it arrived it was a non alcoholic version. I then took the drink over to the bar and asked if it could be swapped for what he had ordered. The manager first checked that I was telling the truth by looking at the order and then said that I was right and that it wasn't good service (but didn't offer a apology). I agreed and said that I hadn't been thrilled about the service as a whole, I then mentioned the hoovering. She said how good it was to hoover during the day as it saved time and all the staff could finish earlier. I was quite taken a back by this because I believe that inconvenience for staff shouldnt impact on the customer. A few minutes later a staff member came over and asked to see my daughters ID. (she had an empty fruity cider bottle infront of her) She doesnt carry ID when out with us as we are of the understanding that aged 16 / 17 year olds are able to have a drink if bought by the parents. (She is 19 by the way but thats beside the point) All this aside, we let them clear the empty glasses and the empty bottle and as we were leaving I approached the bar and asked the member of staff to explain what their policy is. I asked where is it displayed for customers to see and she couldnt show me anywhere. She then said that they had been watching my daughter on cctv, though why this was the case I do not know. I asked her to elaborate on this and she couldn't and wouldn't give me her name. All I can say is that she had a lip piercing and shoulder length black hair. I asked for the complaints procedure and she wouldn't give it to me and when I asked if she would listen to my complaints she said "no I wont." In addition to this the manager tried to interrupt our conversation to get her staff to prepare some drinks. I've had a lovely week on holiday but wont be returning to this branch of weatherspoons. I appreciate that this establishment has their own policy regarding underage drinking, and I accept this, but the attitude of the staff regarding complaints is absolutely appalling. Avoid at all costs.

Tea house
Charlotte's Tea House, located on the top floor of the Victorian Coinage Hall in Truro, is a must-visit for those seeking a unique Cornish experience. Despite potential variability in service quality, the quaint interior and rich heritage of the building make it an ideal spot for afternoon tea. Stepping into this grade II listed hall offers a retreat from modern hustle and bustle, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a recreated Victorian era.
A charming taste of old England! This spot offers true Cornish hospitality with a personal touch, using locally sourced ingredients—even the tea. All cakes are handmade on-site, adding to the authenticity. Such a warm and welcoming introduction to Truro, especially for those seeking a genuine experience. The owners are lovely, always engaging with customers and genuinely valuing feedback. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful teahouse situated in the heart of Truro city Centre. A must visit for anyone who wants a traditional and honestly heartwarming dining experience. Hard to pick one highlight because everything was excellent across the board! The food was first and foremost presented in an absolutely beautiful manner and was delicious and reasonably priced. Then somehow managing to top even that was the service - the girl who served us (Ella) had a very charming and helpful manner about her and was hugely accommodating of our many dietary requirements! In addition to all of this the Chef then came out to confirm a few dietary questions and herself had a lovely manner also. Charlotte’s teahouse would receive my highest reccomendation all around and is a must visit place for anyone in the area.

After researching where to go to take my mum, for an overdue Mother’s Day afternoon tea, and this place was perfect, if we could give it more stars we would do, if you want an experience thats away from every other standard coffee house that is on every street corner, then this place is it, for £20.00 we received our beautiful sandwich, 2 scones, clotted cream, 3 cakes and an amazing pot of tea with extra hot water, so we had 5 top ups each. The staff are fantastic and my mum loved the fact it took her back to the days when her mum used to treat her as a child for tea and cake.

Dropped in to try and have lunch/tea. Waited over 10 minutes with staff flitting backwards and forwards without asking if we had a reservation or making any attempt to engage with us or the people stood in front of us in the queue to be seated! It does say ‘book a reservation to avoid disappointment’ on the sandwich board outside but I was just disappointed by the un-attentive staff. Left to try and get lunch elsewhere. Poor

Climb up 3 flights of stairs to the tea rooms. There was one man working, no greeting. We asked for a glass of water (for medication) which was slammed down on the table. The 3 of us all ordered food and drinks, they were served with no smile or niceties. Wouldn't return there. Actually, we had a friendlier service next day at the M&S self service cafe.

Myself and my daughter thought we would try something different (we would have been better off going to subway!) I paid £12 for a chicken sandwich, that was tasteless & a scone that was cheap and nasty which I refused to pay for. The older waiter was rude & un inviting. There was one lad (tall/dark hair) that was polite & friendly - i think the owners could learn a lot from him! £32 for 2 soft drinks , a jacket potato & a sandwich ...... Save your money , go elsewhere, I wish I had read the reviews 1st.

ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS !! Do not come here ! I visited this place with my mum for some lunch . We first walked into the cafe with high hopes , we were greeted by a lovely young lad and that is the only reason I am giving it one star because he was lovely and deserves a new job . Anyway we sat down and then got are order taken .. the old man that served us was disgustingly rude making us feel rushed to place an order. Soon after we received are food which was horrendous. My mum ordered a gluten free chicken sandwich and a gluten free scone , the sandwich had about one piece of chicken and hardly any sauce , and the scone was so awful we refused to pay ! I Myself ordered a jacket potato which was worse than school dinners . I will 100% never be returning as I could make something better at home . I do hope the young lad that was there finds another job as this place was negative , rude and dirty. The prices alap were unbelievable And I am shocked that there are 5 star reviews. 👎

The place is beautiful! We ate the best pancakes we have ever had… the flavour combination is unbelievable (we had the yoghurt - granola and compote ones, and the apple and honeycomb ones- with bacon added on the side 😋). I had mine gluten free and you couldn’t taste the difference between them and normal ones 😱. The girls looking after us were super sweet and very helpful. Overall an amazing experience, we really enjoyed it… sadly I forgot to take pictures of the food when it came because it all looked so good we went straight in!!! But here are a few photos we took when we came in and when we left. We will be 100% back next time we are in Cornwall.

We stopped here on our visit to Truro for a quick lunch and we really liked it. They have a small cafe which serves mostly drinks and breakfast, and a take away and lunch shop on the opposite side of the street. Ordered piccolo meal but server said she will put desert later. Each piece of food took so long to arrive and when desert was needed, server said she has to put the desert on order now. That wasted so much time since coming in for just 1 meal. The server could have put desert when we ordered 1st place but no sorry or apology received. My child likes same choices so unable to understand why server thought child may change her mind and could not listen what the customer saying.

A typical Pizza Express nestled awkwardly within a fantastic old building. The food was of course as expected tasty, fast enough but not so you felt rushed and reasonably priced. The service was attentive and polite. The dairy and gluten free kids pizza was among the tastiest we have found, so top marks for that. The BBQ burnt ends was top notch, not too spicy but with enough heat. The toilet is out the back of the restaurant across a shared hall so you needed a pin to enter it. A bit contrived but the best they could do I suppose. Had the toilet not felt like a 1980's British Rail platform toilet it'd be 5 stars.

After trying and failing to get lunch at Charlottes around the corner we dropped in to try and get lunch here. A member of staff approached us within 30 seconds and asked if we had a reservation. We didn’t but I looked around and there was 1 table with four seats cleaned and ready and three other tables of four seats that had old dishes on but no one sitting at them. Upon telling the member of staff we didn’t have a reservation, we were told at 1:30pm they had no availability until 3pm!?! I again looked around the restaurant with the member of staff following my gaze but it seems if there is no incentives to turn tables around quickly, why should they bother!?! Are they getting paid the same regardless of how hard (or not in this case) that they work. We left in search of somewhere which would serve us with less lazy staff…

Wow. We had such a nice reception, the hostess was so friendly, so happy, and made us feel so welcomed. Not a thing was too much trouble. The smells in the restaurant were just mouth-watering, the anticipation of food was intense, and we hadn't even ordered yet! When ordering I quired about olives in a dish ( because I'm fussy!) And the hostess actually bought me out a small sample to see if it was OK for me. When the dish came out it was absolutely exquisite 👌. Clearly a chef who knows what he is doing, the sharp pickles, and the richness of the goats cheese was just perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed it, a really well put together starter. Our mains were equally as well cooked, and a fantastic mix of flavours and textures. The additional veg was really yummy! All in all we had a superb evening, the food was spot on and the owners clearly love their jobs! We can't wait to come back.... my dodgy photos dont do the meals justice!

The Longstore Lemon Street is a charming restaurant located in a beautifully transformed Georgian house, offering stunning harbourside views and an array of delectable seafood and steak dishes. Known for its locally sourced ingredients, the restaurant provides a relaxed atmosphere suitable for family gatherings and romantic dates. With options for brunch, lunch, and dinner throughout the week, including bottomless brunches on Saturdays, The Longstore is perfect for any occasion.
It's of huge significance to me, revisiting the last place myself and my late wife visited for our 20th wedding anniversary. To celebrate my twin boys 18th Birthday, and enjoy their first legal beer was truly fitting and a great occasion. The pork belly was absolutely superb, the beef ragu and the surf and turf equally as excellent. The doughnuts which two teenage men devoured with ease was the perfect meal to create a new, lasting memory. Service excellent, and the price was on par for the meal. First ale for the lads on the house too was an added bonus. Many thanks!

Amazing food! And inside was very nicely decorated with warm and cosy Christmas vibes… only downfall was the service!! Esp as this was a birthday meal - they were made aware of this but chose to ignore it which I haven’t had at a restaurant before??? Two brunette girls were especially moody even when given an undeserved tip 😐 This doesn’t include the American waitress who served us nicely.

A very cozy and pleasant restaurant. I had the Padrón Peppers, Davidstow Cheddar & Jalapeño Fritters, Elderflower Cooler, Mac & Cheese Burger with a Blackened Sweet Potato on the side. Others on my table had the seasonal green veg, truffle mac & cheese and fries as their sides. Portion sizes are smaller for starters and standard for mains. The menu is a little on the pricier side. The Padrón Peppers were mild on the spice scale, and enjoyable with the Romesco served. The fritters however reminded me of Arancini; and its pairing with the hot harissa honey was a most welcome surprise for me. Definitely consider trying the fritters, the peppers are pretty standard and missable, so wouldn’t bother with those again. However, the burger was incredibly filling (and a bit of a challenge to finish off!) the Mac & cheese “patty” was super crispy on the outside and incredibly cheesy on the inside. I think this burger does need a few pickled veggies on the side, included with the burger and not as an extra purchase, as a palette cleanser. I was a bit underwhelmed to be served just a burger as I usually do expect a small portion of fries or sauces with it. The blackened sweet potato was delicious; I especially enjoyed the avocado sour cream and crispy onions on top. They balance out the flavours. However I don’t recommend pairing it with the mac & cheese burger as it makes the whole meal much heavier. A lighter side like the seasonal green veg is a better option (although the veg could be steamed for a little longer and seasoned a little more.) I didn’t taste the truffle mac & cheese as I’m not a fan of truffle– however, others at my table who tried it enjoyed it to the fullest with no negative feedback. So can recommend this if you’re a fan of truffle; but again, bear in mind it is a heavy side and a decent portion. The elderflower cooler was refreshing, but a lot more sour than expected. With elderflower drinks I expect that concentrated sweetness, but this primarily tasted like lemonade in my humble opinion. Aside from this, very lovely service and an even more relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant. It’s not an incredibly vegetarian/vegan friendly place, but I would gladly return to try the other options on the menu.

We had an amazing experience at the longhorn. My partner and I were visiting Cornwall as he’s originally from Truro so we came down to revisit places that were significant to his upbringing. After a full day of walking around and taking in everything Truro has to offer we were very much so looking forward to our reservation at the longhorn, we are big steak eaters so for us this restaurant was the most important one of our holiday. From the minute we walked in the service was spectacular, casual yet professional which is exactly what we love. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean and very well decorated. We started with cocktails, as a former bartender who worked in Michelin plated restaurants, I can be fussy. The cocktail menu read well and from the first sip they had me locked in. It was the perfect apéritif. Starters we shared scallops. They were spectacular, portion sizes were spot on and we were looking forward to what we had to come. The star of the show, we both ordered the fillet steaks and shared a side of grilled truffle mac & cheese and confit garlic and smoked butter mash. I have no words, the steaks were cooked perfectly, I ordered mine rare, my partners was medium rare, they were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. The mac & cheese was the best we’ve ever had. Desserts we shared tiramisu and ricotta doughnuts, again flawless, The Longstore served us the best meal we’ve ever had, everything was exactly to our taste Huge thank you to the chefs and staff at The Longstore for giving us such an exceptional dinner and creating a magical memory we can fondly look back on from our visit to Cornwall. We will most definitely be returning!

It was a last-minute decision to have lunch at The Longstore in Truro as the original restaurant we booked cancelled on us an hour before due to a problem with their gas line. Friends recommended The Longstore (with one of them giving a glowing recommendation for their burger, which my husband had) and we decided to make a reservation 30 minutes before we were led to our table. Mentioned on the reservation that it was my birthday and was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco! Service provided was good and attentive, and the food was very very good with generous portions - the chunk of Pastrami (it was that generous!) in the burger was delicious, the salsa verde as a dressing of the belly pork I ordered was very tasty (I had 2 slices of belly pork!), and my side of truffle macaroni & cheese was a revelation. My husband could not give a better recommendation - we will definitely be coming here again!"

Great for gluten free feasts. My 90 year old Mum loves it as do we all. Bit noisy hence 4 star for atmosphere. Highly recommended.

I've discovered the place by mistake but it was the best mistake ever. From outside it looked cozy, warm and chill, perfect for a date. I went in and we had the best date, with incredible delicious food and amazing cocktails. The staff was very friendly and committed, they helped with the table we wanted, made great recommendations and took care of us for the entire date. We will definitely come back a few more times.
Alexandru A — Google review
Great food. The price matches the quality I would say. But if you want 'bang for buck' avoid the seafood/fish dishes. It's expectantly lite but similarly priced to the other options. I shared some of my pork belly with my seafood obsessed partner. If we'd both paid for fish meals we would have been disappointed. If she hadn't chosen a fish deal I would have been in trouble finishing all of mine! Either a price reduction or quantity change is needed for seafood. The cocktails are excellent. *The knife in my photo is deceptive. It was larger than the usual knife and makes the dish look smaller than it was. I only marked it 4 for atmosphere as we were by the front door and it was an oddly cold day for this time in March. The staff and setting couldn't bee faulted.

Cafe
Café Uneeka is a hidden gem located above a shop filled with locally sourced furniture, antiques, and homewares. The café offers a cozy and lively atmosphere with an airy and modern dining room adorned with artistic touches. It's known for its vegetarian and vegan-friendly menu featuring toasties, sharing boards, and light bites made from locally sourced ingredients. Visitors can enjoy freshly brewed coffee along with decadent cakes while taking in the charming ambiance of the café.
I found this cafe yesterday after my top 3 choices were all inexplicably closed and I have to say it was fate! The lady who welcomed me as I walked in (so rare these days for a start) and who served me was amazing, I’ve got terrible eyesight and thought the only menu was the specials board and she went through everything vegan with me and could not have been nicer. The food was exceptional! The coffee was perfect and I couldn’t help but have a vegan raspberry croissant which was calling to me the whole time I was in there even though I was stuffed from my lunch and was to die for! This has now become my first choice for when I’m down in Cornwall from now on.

A lovely, great cafe in the centre of Truro (somehow a hideous place, as not easily spotted). While entering the cafe gives you vibes of keen and interest having thoughts of “what’s special in here”!? The place is very relaxing and very homey, especially the staffs were fantastic, having smiles on their faces and very friendly, polite. Didn’t really felt unaccommodated or uncomfortable at all. Menu’s are available at every table though you need to order at the till. They have varieties of drinks, hot and cold options. Ordered victoria sponge cake, superb good! As well drinks, overall great cafe experience. Highly recommended.

Whenever we pop into Truro this is our go-to for a delicious meal or just a coffee and cake. Always full and busy which is testament to their popularity. I had the cranberry Brie and walnut toastie and my daughter her favourite salad with all the things! Situated above the Uneeka Life shop on the Boscawen square. Vegetarian options and a daily specials menu plus non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available for choice. Small with eight tables and a street view from above. Always a pleasure to be here.

Cocktail bar
If you're looking for a trendy spot in Truro, Vertigo is the place to be! This charming bar has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. With its friendly staff and an impressive selection of cocktails, it offers a vibrant atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. The heated beer garden adds to the experience, making it feel exclusive while you sip on fantastic drinks. Although some patrons noted that service could be more attentive during quieter times, the overall vibe remains inviting and enjoyable.
Enjoyed lunch here veggie burger was really 'meaty' and tasty. Not a bad price either. The tapas looked good too. Nice garden area. Will definitely come back again.

Fantastic cocktails but for an old fart like me it was freezing, you wouldnt have thought it looking at the young chaps in tight t shirts and the young ladies in belt like miniskirts and just bras but there you go. Great drinkies but really quiet for a Friday (thankfully tbh)

Always nice going to the garden area. Heaters available and music playing. Sun shines right in to the garden too. Good cocktails but £7.95 each and never seem to have them on any deals. You can spend alot of money, very fast.

We turned up on a whim Thursday night. Staff absolutely entertaining, welcoming and amazing. Drinks and cocktails and good chilled music in the garden with an option of heat lamp. Fletch made the night. Fantastic barman xx
Caroline N — Google review
Good selection of beers but when I ordered the barmaid told me to ‘shoo’ away from the bar, while we were waiting for another member of staff to pour our drink. (I think the owner suggests we were too close/being annoying in their reply, but this wasn’t the case at all - think they were just trying to make space for other people to come up to the bar, just thought it was a pretty rude way to do it as we’d been pretty polite and would have happily made space anyway)
Ollie R — Google review
Booked a table online, a few days in advance, for the Thai food as this looked really appealing. This booking was confirmed by email. Arrived on time and the back of the bar was busy. Many staff were at the front and they all appeared surprised we had booked (we were told no one really books a table, even though this facility is on their website) and they seemed to have no record of our booking. One staff member seemed to find this slightly funny. We were told we could sit in the conservatory and have drinks as food was no longer being served as the chef was "leaving soon anyway". Obviously this was not what we expected and we refused to stay, saying this should have been communicated better. One staff member offered to get the manager but we declined as we were hungry at the time and it wasn't clear what this would solve. It appears, looking at other reviews, that this isn't the first time this has happened either. Received a text a few days late saying we did not show up for the table! This place may be fine for drinks, but avoid if wanting food. Turns out it was a blessing in disguise as we had great tapas food round the corner at Bodega 18.
Matt B — Google review
My girlfriend introduced me to this lovely bar in Truro today. The staff were really friendly and the cocktails are excellent - and reasonably priced too. Only criticism is staff could have been more attentive and asked if we needed more drinks, especially as a) the place was basically empty and b) in these Covid times, in most other places staff are trying to limit the time customers are spending walking around. Overall very good though and we will definitely be coming back.

Vertigo is great for so many reasons for Truro! It does amazing food in the day time! The new menu is amazing! The staff are all great and really friendly and welcoming. The drinks are top quality and so are the cocktails. The espresso martinis are particularly special. Highly recommend to anyone!

The City Inn Truro is a relaxed pub with six functional rooms, a slate bar, and a beer garden where guests can enjoy breakfast. While parking may be challenging, the welcoming host and the lovely back garden make it worth the visit. The pub offers a good selection of drinks at decent prices and plans to add an outside bar soon. Despite being under-visited, the bar staff is welcoming and accommodating to both humans and furry friends alike.
Popped in for a quick pint at lunchtime. Difficult place to park near. Greeted by a very welcoming host. Tucked away just off the busy centre of town. Lovely little back garden. Visually it's my sort of pub, you know, the ones that are dying out, a proper boozer. I don,t live in Truro but I will definitely be returning in the not too distant future

Great little pub that will certainly be my local now when visiting. Sonia is great, very personable and sociable with the customers. Good selection of drinks at decent prices. Garden looked nice, but didn’t get to sit out as it was raining. Apparently there’ll be an outside bar soon, so that’ll add to the charm.

I arrived late in the day to be told I'd been upgraded because they were redecorating my room. The new room was enormous however, there was no shower and no WiFi and I couldn't find anyone to discuss this with. When I went down for breakfast at the required time the owner was having an enormous row with a member of staff. I went back to my room and waited 20 minutes. Went back down to find she was rowing with another member of staff! Not wanting to miss out on a full English breakfast I interrupted. I was the only person in the bar/breakfast area. Breakfast arrived and was delicious but sadly all cold except the fried egg. Not exactly what you expect for £70.
J K — Google review
Rather dated facilities (especially the bathroom), no WiFi. The whole hotel is rather noisy as theirs a bar downstairs, it's next to a busy road and poorly insulated. You'll also likely be able to listen to whatever the person in the other room was watching on TV. Breakfast was between 8-10 AM, so if you're leaving early you're out of luck. There's no parking at the hotel, though there's a parking lot near by. The personnel though was very friendly!

It calls itself a farmers market but the majority of its offering is craft. nice enough but not what I was looking for, much of its food offering available elsewhere in town in established independant businesses where I try to direct my trade. Some lovely quirky craft offerings but would like to see more fresh produce and you know, Farmers! :-)

We just had the most amazing customer service experience with The Brit staff. Placed an Uber eats order, and realised too late that our address was listed 5 miles away. Movie theater
The Plaza @ Truro is a refurbished Art Deco-era movie theater that offers Hollywood films and snacks in a comfortable setting. The friendly staff ensures a pleasant experience, guiding patrons to their seats and providing excellent customer service. The facilities are well-maintained, with comfortable seating and good sound quality in the screening rooms. Despite minor issues with playing the movie, the management promptly addressed the situation and compensated patrons for any inconvenience.
Quality seats, good screen and sound system, quick service for coffee, drinks, snacks, ground and first floor toilets, not too big. Friendly staff and has somewhere to enjoy an Italian lunch just a few doors away. There is no specific allocated parking but caters for wheelchairs. Only advice, it was chilly in there ( February) so wear warm clothing!
Maggie H — Google review
Cinema is very reasonably priced for tickets and food. The screen itself was very small but was still worth going. Seats are comfy and do recline slightly but with no foot rest. Sound system starts of quiet for the adverts but gets louder. I would say, if your in small screen definitely sit on the front row. As the floor is not sloped.

Really lovely staff and super accommodating after the huge mess of the Minecraft movie! In particular a huge thanks to Holy who ensured i was a happy customer!!! Over all a good fun time and well worth the small cost <3

Staff are friendly and food is good and easy to book tickets. So three stars. But the cinema itself is disappointing. Screen 1 is so small. Its like home theatre . All the excitement to watch stunts in Tom Cruise movie was deflated! Also there’s a very annoying big green light on in your eye line and the steps are always lit so the ambiance isn’t there.
S K — Google review
Great art deco era cinema. Don't think it's changed in 35 years since I was born, although I do quite like that it's not changed as it adds to the appeal. Could do with cup holders but it's not really a hardship to put your drink on the floor.

We had our son's birthday party here with 16 other kids! Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were amazing. The manager (Mark?) was really helpful and everything went as smoothly as it could with a bunch of 7 year olds! Thanks again!

We booked to see a marvels movie and the cinema . The experience was really good , toilets and the actual room was clean 👌 We booked normal seats ,the leather seats looked more comfortable but we were equally comfortable and enjoyed the movie and popcorn 🍿 😀
Nestorine M — Google review
Utterly impossible to watch the film I went to today. Was incredibly hot in the screen room, hallways were covered in sweets and popcorn and could barely even see the ground. There were hundreds of people being loud and obnoxious and nothing was done to quiet any of them down. Speakers were quiet and could barely hear the film over people mindlessly screaming. Literally left midway through the film because I couldn’t bear it anymore. Waste of money, and a waste of time…..

Back in the day, this pub was a must visit on any night out in Truro worthy of the name. I've been several times in the past couple of years, on different days of the week and at different times. It's sad to see that it has become bland and so empty. I know that nostalgia has a lot to do with things but I can't believe how characterless this place has become.
James H — Google review
I had a terrible stay from start to finish. I would have left but the work paid for this trip. I would never want to stay here or recommended anyone to stay here. It’s not worth the money. It’s very sad as it is a stunning location, with lovely nature around . First the place is very old , old and it just has not been well maintained , the windows latches didn’t latch , I tried to open the windows but it wouldn’t hold. The carpet is very well worn in, and very heavily soiled with many stains! The rooms and bathrooms are spactions . The furniture and bedding is worn well out and just need replacing. The furniture is chipping away so poorly , it’s just needs to be thrown out and replaced . I had no cleaning service. I checked in on Sunday late afternoon and checked out Thursday morning . No new towels or toilet paper was brought into the room. however, they do the door signs that we can request the cleaning service. This was not done even though I had put the signs up the night before ? The basin is also very very small. I couldn’t fill up the kettle with water to make a hot drink. The kettle was empty upon arrival . There was a few coffees and teas with some milk provided but never refilled from Sunday night already . There is no additional plug points by the bedside table apart for the one bedside lap. The internet doesn’t work it only worked from Sunday to Wednesday. From Wednesday my cellphone and laptop couldn’t connect . I was on a work trip and obviously they chose the cheapest rooms! This trip cost £100 per night which is not cheap! I mean for a bed for 5 nights no feed/ no cleaning cost £500 not worth it at all , I didn’t have a comfortable stay at all , the water was also cut off on Sunday and Monday by South west water so not the Inns fault at least they new about this and informed me. But yeah all in all not a good stay at all ! I dislike being negative but yea I have to write this review Also no contact people go and report issue too the problems or issues too ,one should be able to get help
Luigina F — Google review
Ordered a wine which tasted off, which had been returned back to the bar straight away, would not offer a refund drink. Considering only one sip had been taken. Will not be returning really disappointed with service. Not the same pub as it used to be. Again from your response the chain of events seem to be misconstrued. It was my friend who remarked, not myself. Very disappointing and personal attack - not good !

Stayed here overnight for the first time, very welcoming, lovely size room, amazing spacious bathroom, very comfortable beds, we were in room 5. Only thing that could have improved the stay would have been a full English breakfast. But that's not a complaint, we knew when we booked that it was room only. Nice stay, we'll be back to stay again, (if you'll have us.

Pizza was very average, paid £1 for a tub of "chilli sauce" that tasted like pasta sauce, not chilli in the slightest. Id stick to YFC next door.

I asked for all the salad except tomatoes, got a tiny sprinkle of lettuce and onion and 1 slice of cucumber! Chips are like cardboard. Just called them to complain, I paid £16.50 for them to not give me what I asked for and to then be told “there’s nothing we can do about it” disgusting customer service. I’m actually so disappointed I was so craving this! Should have waited to get through to Truro Godfather as his are always spot on! Never again will I use central grill. 🤬
Holly Y — Google review
We waited nearly 3 hours… yes, 3 hours for a pizza. Now I don’t normally leave reviews especially bad ones but tonight was absolutely shocking. 3 hours? 3?! For pizza? The lady on the phone was apologetic and the delivery driver was nice enough but was it even worth the 3 hour wait? Hell no.
Kelly P — Google review
APPALLING FOOD!!! It arrived at my home cold and looked like it was yesterday's food. I called Central Grill a call to complain. The person on the phone told me he couldn't give me a refund and that it would take too long for them to send more food out, so I would have to go without. It is such a shame as I have always ordered food from them, but this is the second time this has happened. I would have expected much better service, a refund at the least for what is now in the bin. This doesn't even deserve one star...

Had a great time with my partner & her family. There was five of us but they could easily cater for more, & the more people who book, the better the price! Nick was exceptional, personable & a fantastic host! We had a great laugh, lot's of fun & even the accidental trick shot! Thank you very much all & see you again!

Great fun! Our family group was aged from 10-77 and this activity was something we could all take part in. We were welcomed by Nick, he was brilliant in explaining everything and offering encouragement, great pace and energy. We got in plenty of throws in the time and some friendly competition too. It's quite the buzz when you get your hatchet into the target!

The experience was something I imagine we both will remember. thankyou Nick!

The dude working that day really didn't want to be there and wasn't afraid to let people know. In all my years of customer service I have never come across someone who has no business being in a position of customer contact than this guy. Rude doesn't come into it. Complained of noisy children (spoiler, it was a children's party) only turned on a few machines(there were 12 of them) and then ridiculed a parent when she was trying to explain her child has sensory issues. Luckily the kids took no notice and had a good time but staff need more training. Maybe check your prices too, paying that much we would expect all machines to be switched on.

We took my son and a friend to Player Ready Truro for a birthday treat. They were both inexperienced with VR, but the member of staff explained everything in a really accessible way, and was so helpful and calm. He picked up on when they were getting stuck and would go to help them before they had the chance to get frustrated. He offered them water when they were getting hot (because it does get hot!) He made good game suggestions to them and even let them play on the Xbox when they wanted to take a break from wearing the headsets. The venue was great, the equipment was great and the selection of games were great. (We paid for the arcade session.) I didn’t catch the member of staff’s name. But he was working on Saturday 5th July in the afternoon. So big thanks to that guy! We will definitely be back. My son absolutely loved it. Big parties with lots of people can be overwhelming for him, so we scaled back this year and we are so glad we did! Thank you for having us.

We have been 3 times over the past 4 months (Oct 2022, Dec 2022 and Jan 2023) and my girls LOVE it! They have tried 2 escape rooms and 1 individual game session. Two have been organised birthday parties. What makes the experiences 5 star is the manager on site (think he is called Sam?). He is a godsend!! He is SO patient and understanding. He would make an excellent teacher as he spoke to the children as individuals, consoled my girl who was in tears, tried a few things to make her feel better and generally an all round superstar. Popped in yesterday for a few beers. As ever James and Alan are friendly and very knowledgable about the beer they sell. I asked for a recommendation of a new hoppy beer. My local and the best bar in town. Run by the nicest people. Serving the best beers and ciders in the world. What else do you need? We love it. A lovely, friendly, welcoming place that really takes pride in itself..as it should. I gave it 5 stars for the food but that's because I love crisps which is mostly what the guys serve to eat (with beer this good, crisps, jerky, nuts and crackling are the only food you'll need anyway.) Visit and open your mind and palate to wonders from around the brewing world.

If you look past the faded green plastic table plants and the slightly unwiped tables you will find very welcoming, pleasant and fairly efficient service here and the best tasty breakfast around. The tomato with the basil and balsamic dressing is absolutely delicious as are the mushrooms. Don't miss them! I don't even like smokey bacon but I had a D.I.Y. breakfast with it where you choose the items and even the smokey bacon was delicious. I had 2 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, 2 chipolata sausages, the aforementioned tomato, chopped up mushroom and 2 slices of ready buttered granary toast, all freshly cooked and truly delicious. I ate the lot. It was miles better than the guest house I'm at, sorry but it was well worth an extra expense of £11.50 and I got a glass of pure orange and a nice Latte included in that price as well. The radio was on a cheerful music channel, there were newspapers for anyone who wanted to read one. It was busy. What more could I want. :) 😃

Used to be a lovely, family friendly place for food and drinks all day. Now it’s been taken over by new people. Awful. 13 TVs!! Everywhere you look you can’t escape sports. It’s changed much more pub like. Doesn’t serve food anymore? Also didnt have a dairy free alternative to milk, and didn’t have sweeteners either??! The tables on the booths don’t fit the size of the seats, it’s bare and stripped of tables compared to what it used to be. There’s three stools oddly spread apart at the bar, too far apart to be sat with someone, and also no leg room? Very stereotypically “Male” orientated and aimed. Will not be coming back again, can’t believe how much it’s degraded after the change of owners.

Utterly awful! Two people were acting too sexual (practically having sex) and making everyone around very uncomfortable Bouncers did nothing and only thing they could do was kick out the person than complained of the anti social behaviour. Would not go to again due to the lack of security and poor training of bouncers (particularly the bald one who kicked the wrong person out) This isn't even included the over priced drinks

Hendra Skate Park in Truro is a popular outdoor skate park suitable for skaters of all levels. It features a play area for younger kids and picnic tables nearby. The park is well-loved by locals and attracts people of all ages and backgrounds, creating a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. While some visitors note that the park has more steps than ramps, making it seem more suitable for adults, others appreciate the presence of big ledges and the overall epic vibe of the park.

Nice big skate park with a park next door as well as Victoria Gardens near by. However I've never seen a skate park with so many steps.. there's more steps than ramps, so if its your kids first time there.. make sure they check where all the steps are as you can't tell its steps when you are approaching the steps as it looks like a ramp until the last minute, Seems more of an adult skate park

amazing skatepark for a cruise and some street tech. bad news if you're a transition skater as your only option is the mellow half pipe with the amazing extension section. hoping in the future changes can be made to the park as skateboarding has moved on from massive stairs, to flow based performance.

Whoever designed this place clearly had a fixation with skating stair sets. You can skate small steps, big steps, middle-sized steps, twin steps, triple steps, quad steps... you get the idea. Yes there is also a pretty nice half pipe and a few small flat banks but mainly steps: 5-steps, 6=steps... lots and lots of steps.

The Brig Truro is a popular spot for both budget-friendly and upscale drinks. Whether you prefer inexpensive options like The Central Bar or are willing to splurge at places like Mannings and Sonder, this place has something for everyone. The New Year's Eve atmosphere is described as fantastic, with knowledgeable staff who can craft personalized cocktails and cater to diverse music preferences. Additionally, the bar offers a wide selection of spirits beyond rum, along with beer and wine.
Really love the cocktails, friendly staff and nice food too!
Chris B — Google review
Knowledgeable barman, very helpful with the varied ages of rum and what would go with it to suit your palate. Over 90 rums and I only had time for two! Warm and friendly atmosphere, without being overbearing, loved it.
Debz C — Google review
Looks really good. Cocktails are lovely but its small and the wait for drinks is very long. Gets busy very quickly and when I was there, it was at least 3 deep all the way along the bar, all night. You will get people pushing in, heated discussions and drinks spilt while trying to leave the bar. Gave up in the end and left after waiting 37 mins to get served....
Helena C — Google review
Excellent service and excellent food. Rum lovers paradise. My favourite cocktails are the Apple Pie and Plain Sailing. We shared the meat platter, plenty for two people. Definitely worth a visit.
Charlotte P — Google review
Booked in for New Year's Eve and it was boss. Great atmosphere, and the staff were incredible. They're very knowledgable about cocktails and will make your drink exactly how you like it. Nothing's too much, even if you request a lot of 90's pop songs one after the other. Also don't be scared if you don't like rum. They have other spirits and they're just as skilled with those as they are with the rum. Plus beer and wine. Plus it is pirate themed. Definitely go here.
Gazz — Google review
Captured the atmosphere and ambience of their original Falmouth branch, which is a feat considering it's almost triple the size. Went for my birthday and the staff were fantastic, catering to my vegan diet and able to provide allergen information upon request . The chefs even went as far to make a vegan key lime pie just for me, which was scrummy. I highly recommend they make it a permanent fixture on the menu. A great selection of rum and cocktails, and faultless customer service, all at very reasonable prices. My new favourite Truro go-to!
Terry K — Google review
Went there this afternoon for lunch, the food was very well-priced and delicious, the selection of rums they had was amazing and the gentleman running the ground floor bar this afternoon (16/2/19) is one of the best barmen I have ever come across. All of this was complimented by a lovely intimate location with great decor. Thank you to everyone at The Brig, we will be back.
Glenn H — Google review
Fantastic atmosphere with so many rums to choose from. The staff are very well informed on the vast array of cocktails and rums available. The food iwas so much better than anything I have had in town. Will definitely revisit. T

Performing arts theater
Nestled in the heart of Truro, Cornwall, Burrell Theatre is a charming and intimate venue that showcases local talent and productions from Truro School. This delightful theatre offers a cozy atmosphere where audiences can enjoy performances up close, enhancing the overall experience. While it features comfortable seating and good accessibility, it's worth noting that the bar area can get quite busy before shows start.
The cornish Carol, excellent show. The doors opened at 6pm , bar wasnt prepared or ready til 630pm which was disappointing and not enough seats whilst waiting for the show to start. But this did not take away from the evening. Hilarious play/ show. Small venue which meant you saw everything perfectly and coukdnt fault the performance. Overall a fantastic night
Paula A — Google review
Excellent theatre. Great parking. Didn't give five stars because reception & bar area doesn't allow waiting theatre people anywhere to wait as too small.
Di C — Google review
Smallish theatre, comfortable seating & good accessibility to the venue. Part of a local school so facilities minimalist. Do manage to provide a licensed bar at intermission.
Karen T — Google review
A nice little theatre on the Truro School site. Good for close-up view.
Sarah C — Google review
A great reasonably small theatre attached to the school which hosts the occasional outside productions. There is a small bar on site and parking is available in the large car park by the schools leisure centre.

Nestled just on the outskirts of the city, Coosebean Woodland is a delightful escape for families and nature lovers alike. This enchanting area invites you to embark on an adventure along the Enchanted Trail, where magical creatures await behind whimsical fairy doors. As you stroll through this serene woodland, you'll encounter charming decorated boxes filled with letters from children to fairies, adding a sprinkle of magic to your visit.
Here is a area little known, if you enjoy a river walk or a hike around a meadow here is a walk for you. Just on the outskirts of the city you will find this gem! Dogs will love this walk as will you. Just remember to keep it tidy and take your litter with you.
Mark L — Google review
There were 3 non-resident spaces near to the start of the woodland walk. Everything else we could see needed a resident parking permit. There are no fairies etc in the first part of the walk. When you reach the end of the first part, there are some little decorated boxes in which some children have placed letters they've written to the fairies. After exiting the first part onto a lane, the next signpost confused us and we ended up going up some very steep steps into the wood straight ahead and then up a steep hill. That is not the way. Instead when you reach the signpost that says follow the cycle path, walk down the road and there is the entrance to a cycle path after a short walk. We didn't manage to see anything of the fairy HQ as our daughter is only two and we'd walked quite a distance already. It's a lovely idea and maybe when she's older, we'll make another trip here. There's a nearby play area near the skatepark further down the road that she enjoyed too. Overall, the walk through the woods was enchanting. It was a lovely, sunny April day and a robin seemed to follow us as we walked by the stream. A very quiet, well-looked after place.
R P — Google review
A very nice woodland, only let down by in invasive himalyan balsam. It would be a good idea for regulars in this wood to pull the balsam before it flowers and spreads (July/August).
Paul H — Google review
Cool and calm woodlands in the Victoria gardens. It's nice to see the streams of water flow effortlessly.

This stylish venue boasts an impressive selection of cocktails and VIP booths, creating an inviting atmosphere to enjoy the latest hits alongside nostalgic tunes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. While it may be smaller than some clubs outside the county, it stands out as one of the few places that keep the party going past midnight.
A great friendly place with amazing staff
Dan W — Google review
Ones of the best places to go for a night out in Truro. Unfortunately only one room and reasonably small in comparison to out of county clubs. But the only place open after midnight in town. Music is fine and recent. Good drinks promotions available. Very happy to say they support locals to gain free access for the summer during peak season.
