Southern restaurant (US)
The Basics is a cozy bistro located in The Cotton Exchange, Wilmington, offering a modern twist on traditional Southern cuisine. Known for its ginger-laced crab cakes and mustardy lamb chops with Vidalia jam and wild mushroom risotto, this spot prides itself on from-scratch cooking and a talent for reinventing classic recipes.
I lived in Wilmington back in the ’90s and recently came back for a visit from London. I was really impressed with Basics for brunch—delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and an overall warm, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel right at home. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a great brunch spot. I only wish I had more time to try their dinner menu—hopefully next time!

Came in for lunch on a weekday and they weren’t busy at all… it was right after they switched to lunchtime that I arrived, but by the time I left, they were getting busy. I sat at the bar and started with a cup of Brunswick Stew. The stew was very flavorful, but was so thick, it didn’t resemble a soup nor strew, it was more like a casserole. I then went with their chicken salad sandwich on sourdough bread. The chicken salad was just ok. I bit into something hard, maybe a bone and the overall flavor of it was more on the bland side. The potato cake that came with it was the best thing I ate there. It was very tasty. Overall, I wasn’t as impressed based on what I expected from all the positive reviews I read.

I accidentally found my way to the Basics while here in a work trip. From the moment I walked in I knew I made a good choice. Easy relaxed and comfortable. From my server Kindell being so welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu to the house wine selection I was already impressed. Then the menu was solid. I had a hard time deciding but settled on the nightly specials. It was one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Fresh local ingredients and thoughtful presentation and preparation. Can’t wait to return. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
Jacquelyn M — Google review
Small dining space so people are greeted outside...sonif there is a line, know there is no lobby in restaurant. People seemed friendly and attentive. They also seem to work as a team so cant imagine much gets dropped here. Cobb salad was good. Really enjoyed the smoked chicken and guacamole turned out to be a great touch! Tomato soup had a great flavor but consistency was more like pizza sauce. Wouldn't recommend. Mac and cheese was simple and delicious. Appreciated the melted cheddar on top.
Scott B — Google review
Basics absolutely lives up to its name — simple, clean, and perfectly executed! The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is friendly and attentive, and everything feels effortlessly put together. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, coffee, or just hanging out, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer. Consistency, quality, and comfort — Basics nails all three. Highly recommend!
Evan J — Google review
My wife and I had lunch here last week. The service was great and the food awesome! I had an oyster po boy and the bread was great and the sauce and oysters very tasty! also had the Brunswick stew. Would good back if we were in town again.

The Basics, located in the Cotton Exchange is a popular restaurant with excellent food and service. The chefs come up with many unique dishes. The wait staff are attentive. The Basics offers inside and outdoor dining. Their Sunday brunch is popular.
Rob L — Google review
It's hard to find a restaurant in the city that serves good that's like a home-cooked meal. But this was it! The collards and fried okra were really good. The smoked half bird was extremely tender. It was just a bit too smoky for my liking but it was falling off the bones good. My husband got the meatloaf and mashed potatoes with mac and cheese. The servers were extremely friendly and took really good care of us. The place is small but cozy and we had a really good experience. It's a bit pricey compared to other restaurants in the area but the food was good and cooked fresh.

Nestled in Wilmington, the Famous Toastery is a delightful eatery that brings together classic and innovative American breakfast, brunch, and lunch options. This vibrant spot is perfect for those who crave a turkey club at any hour of the day. With an extensive menu featuring unique dishes like gluten-free avocado halves baked with eggs and zesty Cajun spices, there's something to satisfy every palate.
The Biscuits and Gravy were decadent! The bacon was well seasoned. The fresh squeezed orange juice was heavenly! Decorations and service was top notch. This place gets my vote for a top breakfast spot in the area! We will be back!

We had a fantastic Saturday breakfast here! This place offers an elevated diner breakfast experience; the food is wonderfully fresh, never oily or greasy. The stuffed French toast with cream cheese and strawberries was a standout – perfectly balanced and not at all heavy. We were so happy with everything and have definitely added this gem to our go-to breakfast list in Wilmington!
Zoya Y — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Our server was the best. He had a great attitude and was attentive but not overbearing. They allow dogs on the patio and he greeted everyone, dogs and people alike. He brought out treat bowls especially for the dogs and even brought me a small decanter of caramel syrup for my bottomless coffee. He did an amazing job! And the food was absolutely amazing. I definitely recommend the corned beef hash.
Melissa — Google review
The Toastery was a great stop for breakfast. We were on a road trip and felt like we needed a hardy breakfast that morning. I had the crab cakes eggs Benedict and it was excellent. And coffee to go, which was a lifesaver. There was a big storm so it was cool to sit in the patio and watch the rain. Definitely would recommend this as a stop to anyone coming through Wilmington.

Super cute interior, very southern. It was busy on a Sunday morning, had to wait about 30 min for 6 people. We were led upstairs, our waiter Josh was wonderful. The food was 10/10, the sausage gravy is a must! The Toastery bowl with the smoked sausage was delicious! The Bloody Mary was also yummy, beware the spicy is spicy!

Visited from Utah. Oir waitress was so friendly and helpful with the menu. She suggested sampling different dishes by selecting sides. It was perfect! I had stuffed French toast, avacado toast, and grits. Everything was delicious. I wish you had a location in Utah. Bonus tip from our waitress: add bacon to the avacado toast. Yum!

Father's Day Brunch. Patio. Dude server, upset I can't remember his name. We were in from out of town. Our day started rough, but we were optimistic. Came across this place. We have one where we live. So we had expectations. Wait time moved fast. We were seated in a great spot that was dog friendly. Our server didnt miss a beat and took great care of the little hot dog that we had with us. He gave great recommendations and prompt thoughtful service. Figure out his name and tell him thank you for me. He helped us turn our day around with a nice meal and a positive attitude. Thanks guy!

Eventhough a chain restaurant, they serve a solid breakfast. Varied menu has a lot to choose from. Food was good, not overly seasoned, good service and a lovely atmosphere. Quite a big place so the line moves fast.

Dixie Grill is a long-standing restaurant and bar in Wilmington, NC, offering a mix of classic diner fare and Southern cuisine in a friendly setting. It has been a beloved establishment since the Gatsby era, known for its inventive Southern dishes and welcoming atmosphere. Located just blocks from the waterfront, this eatery serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a focus on down-home southern flavors.
WHAT IS IN THE FARMERS OMELETTE THAT MAKES IT SO DELICIOUS?!?! Our delightful server Madison recommended that to go with my cheesy grits and a sweet potato pancake and they must be using some dark magic for everything to taste this good. Setting the bar high for our first meal in Wilmington, NC!

Awesome food. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the great food on the menu. Fast service. Great place to eat with friends and family. Very reasonable prices.
Sevor K — Google review
This cute place is delightful! We got there just after 10 on a Sunday and only had about a 30 minute wait. I ordered the Dixie bowl and the server was delighted I had found their secret menu! The Dixie bowl is bacon, a biscuit, potatoes and eggs topped with sausage gravy. The only complaint was that I finished it all and wanted more! The service was wonderful, the menu had something for everyone, and they even serve alcohol! Definitely a place to try!

Great atmosphere and location in the heart of Wilmington! Fast service, simple menu, reasonable prices, and a good amount of seating. The Breakfast burrito and home fries were delicious and filling! A simple breakfast delight done well. Potato pancakes were also good! Big size, just one is filling. A good place to go for a casual brunch date!

Good old Dixie. An institution, for sure and it never disappoints. They have up their food standards and we were pleasantly surprised. The omelette is fluffy, with just enough stuffing; the market Benedict was delicious with fried green tomatoes and Vidalia onion gravy; and nicely plated. They even cut the scallions on a bias now. Home fries were cubed nicely and well seasoned. We appreciate the change.

I'm looking at the breakfast pictures on the reviews and trying to figure out who cooked my food the day I went. Earlier this month drove down from Fayetteville to eat at Dixie Grill. Took a friend with me. Hadn't been in about 5 years. During the order I stressed I like fresh potatoes and was assured they will be hot and fresh. The potatoes were cold and FINALLY the waitress checked on us and I told her. She took them back and I waited.... and waited. I got a plate of cold potatoes again. I'm not exaggerating here. I mean what does it take to put potatoes on a hot grill and lay something heavy on them to cook quick? Again, the waitress took them back. She came over and said their heat lamp is broke on the potatoes and she talked to her manager. Do they know how to use a skillet? Then I got $3 off my meal and left hungry. Also, I swear I had only 1 scrambled egg. It was supposed to be 2 and the portion was very small. I am only reminded because I just cooked my own potatoes and eggs at home. Two small eggs at my home are much larger than what I got on my plate that day. I guess I'm still reeling over the experience. Too lazy to throw 20 cents worth of potatoes on a grill. I'm not eating at Dixie Grill again. Also they changed the decor. Not the same vibe or anything.

Great food, wait was long and very busy. Staff handled the business well. Will return

If you are new to town or visiting and want breakfast downtown, you gotta go to The Dixie. Trust me. If Us locals are willing to stand outside waiting for 20 or 30 minutes for a table? It's gotta be good. Its a cool little place & another Downtown Wilmington staple. The Dixie? It's exactly what it should be. The Heauvos Rancheros? Good Lord, TRY IT. You'll be a changed person for it. SO good.

We visited The Keg and Egg on a Sunday morning, and were seated immediately. Our food took 25 minutes to arrive, but it was absolutely delicious! All of our food in the group was incredible- the biscuits and gravy are especially noteworthy. The service was great, and the prices are very reasonable. We highly recommend this American restaurant!
Today after my wife’s Dr Appointment we headed east toward the ocean to find a new place for lunch! We started with Kolsch Krush from a local brewery at The Keg & Egg Bar! My wife ordered the Reuben with their take on potato chips and I ordered the shrimp and grits! Every thing was delicious and it was fun to eat at a place with a real personality and some might say a Dive Bar! Our server Kendall was delightful and made sure our time there was worthy of visiting again!
James N — Google review
Went here on a Monday night. I had the special which was bacon cheeseburger sliders and the wife had the cuban. Mine was good but a little too salty on the sliders, the fries are delicious. She loves the cuban. Service was excellent and we'll probably return to try other things. Somewhat limited parking at busy times.
Scott W — Google review
What a great place! We went there for breakfast. Not crowded at all at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. It's a cozy, neighborhood bar with seating at the bar and at tables. Cute and warm atmosphere, typical bar décor (posters, collected stuff scattered on the walls). The staff were very friendly, polite, and courteous, and took our order with a smile. I had the "Kegs Benedict," two medium-cooked eggs on a homemade biscuit covered with sausage gravy. (I took a bite before I remembered to take a photo for this review!) It was amazing. Tender, flaky biscuit, sausage gravy that was smooth and not salty. My wife ordered a mushroom, cheddar, and bacon omelet and grits. She loved it. A very minor quibble: Her toast was a little overcooked. But she didn't really want the extra calories anyway. Highly recommended - we're going back for breakfast again tomorrow!
GardenStater — Google review
Loved this place! The vibe, the food… all worth it! We went for dinner and each tried a different sandwich. All were delicious! This may seem like a small thing, but each type of sandwich was made with the type of bread it should be made with. IYKYK. We had the chopped cheese (highly recommend!), the Rueben, chicken cheesesteak, the new porker and a special Italian beef. All came with choice of fries or buffalo chips (golden fried flat wedge potatoes - get them!!). And their ranch dressing with the fries is homemade and delicious! Everything was great! Excited to go back and try more, and breakfast! Service was quick but they appeared to be understaffed and that meant some wait times with refills. There was also some miscommunications about the specials - we were told all sandwiches were a percentage off but then another server came and said that was another night. We only saw two servers for the whole restaurant. Seemed to be an issue with new training and being understaffed.
Amber R — Google review
You know that place you have driven by a hundred times and said "I need to try it someday?" The Keg and Egg was that place for me. So when the next door restaurant was closed we tried it. And now I am kicking myself for missing out all those years. The Keg and Egg has nearly the perfect pub menu with very reasonable 2025 prices. We had the special Chicken Caesar, the chicken Philly, and the Reuben. All were perfectly cooked and filling with great fries. Deanna provided great service in a fun and relaxed manner. So if you are interested in great food, excellent service, and reasonable prices at this off the beaten path neighborhood treasure don't make the mistake of driving by too many times. Stop in for a pleasant surprise and a great meal.
Tom R — Google review
As my husband and I walked in to The Keg and Egg for the very first time yesterday, we automatically knew we were in a special place. Michael greeted us at the door and was awesome throughout our dining. Our biscuits and gravy, hash brown casserole and breakfast sandwich was so delicious and it’s always a great place when you have enough to take home. We will definitely visit again.
Kathy W — Google review
We go to Keg and Egg at least once a month. It's our absolute favorite brunch spot and worth the wait. It is a smaller spot, so do plan to wait during rush morning hours on the weekend. They will let you order drinks from the bar and hang out on the patio while you wait, which is great. Their biscuits and gravy, Monte Cristo, Breakfast Burrito, and French toast are all on point. They also have amazing specials each week that are creative and delicious!
April C — Google review
Just had lunch here. We had a few different sandwiches, fries and the buffalo fries. First off, portion size is huge. This is a take home and have another meal kinda place. The food was amazing. Everyone raved about how great their sandwiches were. Both the fries and buffalo fries were good. I personally enjoyed the buffalo fries because it was something different. The staff is what made this place extra special. They were all so nice and personable. Thoughtful without being overbearing. You can tell they really enjoy working together and enjoy getting to know their customers. I found it to be almost like a Cheers where everybody knows your name type of vibe. We felt so welcomed. Add that with the amazing food and I can't think of another place in Wilmington I'd rather have lunch.

New American restaurant
PinPoint Restaurant, located in downtown Wilmington, offers a refined take on traditional Southern recipes using locally sourced ingredients. The quaint space is adorned with art and has gained a massive following since its opening in 2015. The menu, crafted by Chef Dean Neff, features New American meals with a focus on seafood dishes. Diners can enjoy unique offerings such as hummus made with North Carolina butterbeans and baked oysters topped with local shrimp.
Incredible food. Everything was good, and I'm not being hyperbolic. The housemade pickles were great, oysters were incredible, and the entrees were interesting. Drinks were just okay, but they have a big menu so there's lots of options to choose from and customize. The service was amazing. I spent an anniversary dinner here, and it was perfect for the occasion. Would absolutely come back again.

I live out of town and found myself here twice in one month. SO good. The service was right on, super friendly. All I can say is, the tomato salad, summer squash, pickle plate, fried fish, beef tartar, lobster ceviche, cookie butter ice cream, candy car dessert, and the blonde brownie were simply fantastic.
Emily V — Google review
food was fantastic, love the spontaneity of a daily changing menu. pickle plate was on the sweeter, denser side, i personally prefer a softer more tart pickle. beef tartare was finely ground with aromatic flavor, yum. mushroom toast was immaculate, black garlic jus with the steak was my favorite part of the meal. absolutely a must. ryan was so kind and insightful, we'll be back! thank you for a great meal :)

Fantastic experience. The owner was wonderful, atmosphere was perfect, and service was wonderful. After excellent drinks, we went with the waiter's ( Devin) suggestions. Looking forward to trying everything, but will need to get those delicious drinks and Shrimp appetizer and raw oysters again soon!!!

Went here last night for the first time and was so impressed. Was greeted promptly and directed to our seats. The knowledge of the Menu that Mark showed, the belief in the product, and the stellar service throughout did not go unnoticed. The food was the best food I’ve had in a very long time. Hats off to the staff and chef!

A friend suggested we go for 1/2 price apps.. Its a daily menu with some changes each day... 5-7 Tuesday-Friday I think... We sat at the bar, even though neither of us drink booze, and the bartender was very courteous and made a mocktail for my friend... The manager was equally friendly 👍They served housemade Sourdough & butter... I had the Roasted Pumpkin Salad which was DEEEELISH, Pimento Cheese Dip with Crostini, and the Chorizo with Blistered Peppers 🌶 The chorizo was a little crispy for my liking, but DEELISH and I ate it all 😉 Be prepared that the Dip is served cold, but still very yummy... We shared the Bread Pudding for dessert 😋 A bunch of things on the menu I'd still like to try. I'll be back 😃

What an incredible dining experience! The food was outstanding, but what really stood out to me was the staff and their knowledge + enthusiasm about each dish. When you step into Pinpoint, you immediately feel seen in a good way. If you haven’t been to Pinpoint yet, this is your sign!

Looking for vegan crepes? This is your spot! The crepes are pretty good just a little bland, but I assume it’s done on purpose so they can be sweet or savory. Lots of option for toppings - sweet and savory. Nice decor, cozy atmosphere and super nice staff!

There's a lot of wonderful things to say about Our Crepes & More. First and foremost, the crepes are absolutely delicious, and I feel confident saying there's not a bad item on the menu. Secondly, the service is as good as it gets. It truly feels like you're among family when dining here. Make it a point to stop in if you're in the area!

Great food. My party of five ordered five of their crepes and everyone was happy about their food. The crepes are delicious. Mine was the Quebec. I definitely recommend it. Or server was excellent and super friendly. She made sure we were well taken care of and that our crepes were made to perfection. The atmosphere is amazing. It’s a very lively and welcoming place. Families and large and small will enjoy this experience.

Just tried this place for brunch. Very good quality food and service. We have a delicious cream with strawberry and Nutella, flavorful thick slices of bacon and eggs done just right. Service was fast, the food was hot and fresh. The place is very clean. Seems to be the senior club‘s favorite spot, which at 11 AM is a good telltale sign that it’s a local favorite. Allison took great care of us and was genuinely bubbly and excited to serve, which is something you rarely see and was very refreshing to experience. Would definitely be back if I was craving a crêpe.

We just find this restaurant, but we're late to the game bass on how crowded it was when we went. It's an order at the counter, get assigned a table and wait to be served situation. It works well, food delivered quickly and was amazing. Sweet crepes, savory Crepes and platters. Looking forward to going back and trying different options.

I've lived in this city 6 years and passed it countless times and never stopped in this gem for breakfast/brunch. Call me dumb. A friend mentioned and I said sure. Glad I did as the food is wonderfully creative and reasonable. My crepe was chicken and mushrooms with a cream sauce. Delicious. My friend ordered a banana crepe with ice cream and a strawberry drizzle. I managed to get one bite and it was worth it. Go there and you will thank yourself.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience in Wilmington, NC, look no further than Blue Surf Café. This charming venue boasts a bright and rustic-chic atmosphere that perfectly embodies the coastal vibe of the area. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it offers imaginative seafood dishes alongside modern American fare that will tantalize your taste buds. The café's inviting decor creates a cozy setting ideal for enjoying everything from gourmet hot chocolate in cooler months to fresh seasonal ingredients featured on their ever-evolving menu.
I drove by and decided to stop in. You order at the counter and food is brought out to your table. I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich with coconut rice and black beans. Hubby got the meatloaf sandwich with sweet potatoes. Both dishes were really good! Full of flavor and perfect portions. Service was friendly. The atmosphere was laid back and fun. We will be back.

We were having a birthday lunch, and it was definitely a good pick. We try to choose a different local restaurant every time we go to Wilmington, and this was a great pick. We went during non-peak, so it was not super busy. The young man behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. The food was very good. We all enjoyed our meals.

My partner and I tried this place today and though it was pretty packed, our food came out fast and the staff was friendly. My partner had the Havana Bowl. It looked nice and tasted good, but it was a bit heavy on the black beans. I had the Home Style Breakfast Plate, which is your classic breakfast plate, nothing too exciting. The only downside was that both my partner and I thought the bacon was overcooked and salty, but that could just be personal preference. We also tried the waffle with caramelized bananas, yogurt, and almonds. It had a kind of pumpkin spice twist to it that I didn’t realize , but didn’t mind. Initially, the waffle was drenched in syrup (pictured below) , so I asked for them to remake it with the syrup in the side, after that it was perfect. (also pictured below) We also brought our dog and sat outside, which was great. I’d recommend Blue Surf for a casual brunch with decent food and friendly staff, but it’s not a place I’d be rushing back to.

Our daughter (uncw student) brought us here for lunch. Literally everything on the menu sounded delicious, brunch menu was also available which made my choice even more difficult. I opted for the brisket sandwich with s&p chip. I don't know if the chips are house made or not but they are so good!! Been craving them ever since we went! Plan on visiting again when we are in Wilmington. This place is a must try!

I was excited to take my husband here for lunch after reading the reviews. Boy were were disappointed and kind of shocked at the food. I ordered the lunch special which was a chicken fajita bowl. My husband ordered the beef brisket sandwich. My husband liked after I ordered the he read somewhere that lunch specials usually meant leftovers from the night before. I laughed at him but honestly that is exactly what the fajita bowl tasted like. The black beans were unseasoned, as was most everything in the bowl and the chicken was hard and so dry that when I took a bite, I thought I had bitten into a piece of bone. The rice was flavorless and cold in the middle as though it had been warmed in a microwave but not gotten completely hot. Cheese sauce had no flavor at all. I could only eat a few bites of the peppers and mushrooms which also had no seasoning. Brisket sandwich had very little brisket and the bun was so toasted it was hard and burned in places. Potato salad was very bland with the potatoes cut in uneven pieces so the sauce in each bite was uneven. Expensive for what was served to us! The service was very slow. Picture of "crunchy" dry chicken.

This is quickly becoming one of our favorite places for a quick and healthy lunch in Wilmington. Haven't had a bad meal yet, and everything is so fresh! Love the laid back, sunny vibe in here as well. Will definitely be back soon.

YUM! Walking right in to such a yummy dinner with no wait on UNCW move-in weekend was the best decision EVER! They had me at brisket, but the salad, flatbread, and vegetarian bowl were all fantastic, too. We officially have a new favorite go-to, and will look forward to chatting with the super-nice staff, too.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I usually take lots of photos of food and restaurants but somehow I have never taken a single photo here🤦🏼‍♀️I think that I'm too busy digging in to my food to remember to get a photo😁 My best friend lives in Wilmington and I vist frequently from Atlanta Georgia. We always plan multiple meals here-like dinner every other evening! My best friend loves the Tori Bowl with lots of grilled veggies and chicken and I LOVE the Mojo Bowl with the jalapeno cornbread, the best cornbread that I have ever eaten😋 it's so good that I started ordering an extra piece to take home with the leftovers from my Mojo Bowl😁The cornbread is very nicely crispy, almost charred on the outside-not burnt just a slightly dark flavorful color but the outside crispness is sooo nice and it's super moist on the inside with bits of jalapeno peppers but it's never super spicy which I appreciate because I don't love super hot spicy food. The food is definitely very generous amount at a reasonable price. They also have flavored lemonade which changes frequently, I want to say daily. Our personal favorite is blueberry basil but they only had it once during our last visit but it's delicious. We also enjoy sitting on the patio outside and it's covered with cloth sails which provides nice shade. It does overlook the parking lot so no sweeping views but it's just nice to be outside and it's pet friendly👍🏻❤️ This latest trip was the 1st time that we have gone for breakfast, I'm not sure why we have never had breakfast at Blue Surf but nevertheless it was our 1st time! I had the waffles and bacon and it was very delicious, probably not the healthiest option but...hey, I was on vacation 😂 my friend had a sandwich of eggs and something else, I can't remember because hers was a healthy option🤮😂 Well anyway don't hesitate to try Blue Surf Cafe because the staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is flavorful and a decent value so it won't break the bank!

Breakfast restaurant
Goody Goody Omelet House is a classic American diner in Wilmington, serving up signature Spanish omelets for over 30 years. The restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes and serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch. Known for its fantastic, fluffy omelets at affordable prices with generous portions, the diner exudes a classic vibe in both decor and service. Housed in a vintage building, it has become a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike.
I was honestly skeptical when I saw the diner from outside it is very unassuming and small but my expectations were definitely blown away and now I understand why there was a line out the door. The food was amazing, cooked right there in front of us, and super affordable. Our waitress Emily was so sweet and fun to talk to, in addition to being attentive and on top of making sure we had all we needed. I loved the neighborhood diner feel where everyone knew each other and was having a good time. Limited booth seating, but the bar stayed pretty available. It is cash only!! But absolutely worth it.
Erin G — Google review
I am not from this area, and my first impression was that this was a cash only, limited hours, version of waffle House. It looks like a waffle house on the inside, only very much smaller with a much broader menu. I have to say the eggs are definitely a lot fluffier and creamier than waffle house. The sausage was just about the same as was the toast and the potatoes. Obviously, a local place with a local vibe and that’s cool. I took my order to go because there was no seating available during the weekend.

My wife and I love looking for those little "hole in the wall" type restaurants that aren't part of any franchises. Goody Goody is a real gem. Family run for 48 years, these guys have it right and if you like fluffy omlets, this place has the fluffiest. Hash browns were jamming too! All so good. If you get the chance sit at the counter so you can watch the chefs. They have it down to an art. Get there early, it fills up fast.

Don't waffle, get to Goody Goody for some good Southern eatin'! 😋 Located in Wilmington, NC, close to the airport and a stone's throw from Michael Jordan's childhood home, Goody's serves up short-order diner favorites efficiently, flavorfully, and with a smile. 😁 With only 6 sit-down tables and about 10 spots at the bustling counter by the grill, you may need to wait like the locals do. But, if so, your love for Southern cooking 🍳 will thank you. The entire staff is very welcoming & friendly. The one family waiting in line outside the front door happily let us pass and directed us to 2 open seats at the counter. We arrived for a late breakfast after the morning rush. The menu was chock full of breakfast favorites, from pancakes 🥞 and waffles 🧇, to eggs 🍳, omelettes, biscuits, specialty hash browns, and even liver pudding. We ordered the peaches 🍑 and cheese 🧀 omelette, which, as advertised, was soft & fluffy as a cloud and richly flavorful, with tangy grilled peaches combined with gooey, savory Swiss cheese. The homemade biscuits are baked to *perfection* and can't be found at corporate restaurants. The fruit-topped pancakes topped with peaches & whipped cream were excellent, too. 👌 Just as impressive as the food was the warm, friendly, family-like atmosphere. The whole staff worked together as a team like a well-oiled machine. The patrons were happy. The wait staff were smiling. The cooks took pride in their work, efficiently cranking out orders and keeping their respective stations clean each step of the way. Overall, "Just Good Food", just the same way, since 1977! 😋

Very Good!!! Tasty breakfast fast service. Definitely a keeper if you’re in that area.

My absolute A-1 favorite breakfast spot of all time. It's a MUST every time I visit Wilmington, and it NEVER disappoints. The omelets are fluffy, the coffee is gross in the best way, the biscuits are second-to-none (and they are GENEROUS with them), and the vibe of the place is a throwback to a simpler time. I wouldn't change a thing, and I hope they never do. Goody goody, you have stolen my heart 🧡

Actually the best omelet I've ever had. So buttery and soft. Wasn't a big fan of the sausage links or coffee. Service and prices were great.

How have I never eaten here before? Great food! Service with a smile and a joke! Family-owned and operated! My favorite kind of place. Best cheese omelet hands down, that ai have had in a long time. My husband loved he could get anything from the menu at any time! He says the Chicken Salad sandwich with fries was just what he needed! SUPPORT SMALL BUSINESS!❤️ *CASH ONLY!* BTW: GRILLED BISCUITS 😋!!!!

Blueberry’s Grill is a charming addition to the Wilmington food scene, offering a beautiful outdoor dining area and cozy indoor seating. It has quickly become one of the best breakfast spots in town. Visitors have praised the inviting atmosphere and delicious dishes such as Country Benedict and Lobster Skillet. The outdoor seating provides picturesque views while enjoying delightful culinary experiences. The blueberry hush puppies with honey butter and blueberry compote are particularly popular, along with gluten-friendly options for all to enjoy.
Blueberry Grill in Wilmington is easily one of the best breakfast spots in the area. The atmosphere is bright, welcoming, and has that kinda coastal farmhouse yet cozy vibe that makes you want to sit and stay a while. We came in for breakfast and coffee, and everything hit the spot. My wife ordered an iced coffee, and it was excellent — smooth, refreshing, and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. It paired perfectly with the meal and gave me exactly the pick-me-up I was hoping for. The food was just as impressive. The menu has a great mix of classic breakfast favorites and creative twists, and the portions are generous without feeling heavy. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can tell the kitchen really puts thought into balancing presentation and taste. Service was also top notch. Our server was friendly, attentive, and kept things moving at a good pace even though the restaurant was busy. We never felt rushed, but also never had to wait long for anything — a perfect balance. All around, Blueberry Grill is a place I’d happily recommend to anyone in Wilmington. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick iced coffee and a bite or planning to linger over a big breakfast, it’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again.

Our new favorite breakfast spot in Wilmington! Close to Wrightsville & Mayfaire. We drove from Surf City and will do it again when we’re back down there. Everyone was very pleasant & helpful being our first time there. Food was hot & delicious, drinks were great as well. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot!

This is the most charming brunch restaurant! Be prepared to wait a while, especially if you come on the weekend, which we did (but it was worth it). The wait went quickly enough because the people watching alone was entertaining. We were seated outside and, with the gorgeous weather, it was ideal. Sadly our service was lousy and we often had to track down our server to get drink refills or our check, but the food was awesome. I ordered the corn beef hash eggs Benedict with home fries and my daughter ordered chicken and waffles--neither of us was disappointed. Between the ambience and the food, the Blueberry Grill is a lovely way to start the day.

This is a fantastic place for breakfast, brunch & lunch. I've been here twice and will be back again. I'm a huge breakfast fan and this place doesn't disappoint. The menu selections are vast so anyone in your party will find an option enticing to them. Make sure to sample their blueberry pancakes and the hush puppies. These are great choices to share among your table. I struggle to decide what entree to get and so will you!

This place is pretty busy as we found on a Sunday morning in May with a 2 hour wait, so my daughter and I decided to try again this week. Monday morning at 8am had no wait and a very kind member of the wait staff who took us to her "her favorite table" near the fireplace (outside). She very much seated us at the best seat in the house. I have severe GERD (lucky me!) so my list of acceptable foods is limited. No worries here, I found the Mediterranean omelet, which was so, so good. I'm a good cook and foodie, so I appreciate when a dish is prepared thoughtfully as this one was with feta cheese, roasted red peppers, and sundried tomatoes. The sour dough bread was a nice compliment along with a fresh fruit bowl. My daughter loved her blueberry waffles sans the cream cheese. Our waiter Jack was attentive, professional, and made sure we were happy. When I left, I bought two of the "Blueberry Grill" mugs as a souvenir of this very sweet trip to Wilmington and time with my daughter. The staff at the front were sweet, and I know that I want to come back here very soon.

We came as a group of 4 ladies and sat outside. We wanted to try several seasonal drinks and several meals, and split them, to maximize the experience as our first visit to Blueberry's! We were visiting from the Northern Virginia/DC area, where there is a lot of foodie culture and an expectation of dietary swaps - the latter more so than I expected may be possible in the south. We were really pleasantly surprised. With some dairy allergies and low sugar dietary needs at the table, we still could eat so much, and we loved it all. Judah, our server, was so pleasant and very helpful with suggesting dishes or swaps for our needs. We never were in want of anything at our table before he came to check on us and provide it - refills, side plates for sharing, drink top ups, a table fan to keep bugs away, etc. We got the chicken and waffles, the classic eggs Benedict, a steak skillet, creme brulee waffles, a crispy chicken sandwich, and an omelet, among our group. (We came ready to eat, after a long drive down the evening before!) Not only were all the dishes well plated, but everything had great texture (like, crispy but tender chicken and waffles) and we were all pleased with our portion sizes. For my drink, I'm not a huge fan of sugary sweet alcoholic beverages: I tried the pear martini thanks to Judah's help choosing, and it was flavorful and refreshing; not syrupy sweet. Highly recommend for the beautiful photo ops indoors and on the back patio - sit inside if you come peak midday and you sweat easily. And highly recommend to travelers visiting the area for the first time. Plan ahead, because this spot is popular - and they live up to their local reputation!

Use the online waitlist feature and get yourself to this place ASAP! We went for Saturday brunch and it was delightful. Morgan was our server and was friendly and personable. The blueberry hushpuppies were divine, the mimosa flight was great, and the omelets and grits are delicious. We sat outside and it was perfect!

For a Wednesday at 11am it was busy, but we got shown to our table rather quickly. Waitress was polite and professional very attentive to our table. Food was good, the only complaint was that my daughter ordered the chicken & waffle and the waffle showed up to the table cold, so cold in fact the butter didn't melt. She said the chicken was perfectly cooked so that was a plus. I ordered the skillet it was well seasoned, no complaints. We also had an order of blueberry hush puppies, great flavor with a little butter was excellent. Overall good food and service.

Brunches is a delightful eatery that specializes in breakfast and lunch, offering a relaxed atmosphere where you can indulge in classic dishes like burritos, burgers, and bowls. With locations at Randall Parkway, The Pointe at Barclay, and Mayfaire in Wilmington, this spot is perfect for those looking to enjoy mimosas alongside their meals. One of the standout dishes here is the shrimp and grits served with a luxurious lobster cream sauce—truly a must-try!
It was a busy Sunday at 10am but we got seated pretty quickly. Service was great and food came out fast. Everything we ate was fresh and hot. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Shrimp was cooked perfectly and the grits were creamy and flavorful. The Mimosas looked great and I would have loved them but I prefer a sweeter sparkling wine at brunch. If you prefer a dryer wine these are perfect for you. Presentation was amazing.

While on vacation, my husband and I stopped here for lunch. I ordered the buffalo chicken mac and cheese on the waitress’s recommendation, and my husband went with the biscuits and gravy combo. Short story: I wish I’d ordered what he got! The mac and cheese came topped with what tasted like Tyson frozen chicken nuggets tossed in buffalo sauce, which wasn’t what I was anticipating—I expected fresh-cooked chicken. I did tell the waitress I didn’t like it and she offered to take it off the bill but I had a few bites of it as I was hungry and didn’t feel like it warranty a waive bill. On the other hand, my husband loved his meal and ate every bite (and thankfully shared a little with me). The mimosas are HUGE definitely not something you can finish if you plan on driving after. I’d come back again for breakfast and the genuinely kind service.

A mall restaurant. It was somewhat what I expected. High volume, overpriced decent quality dishes. Busy and loud. Service was slow but our server had a good vibe to her. Dishes were good. There was no attempt to elevate them for the price. However we were there to socialize and enjoy the downpour. I had the eggs Benedict…mid. The GF had the Strawberry cheesecake AND french toast. Sadly, the expectation was the cheesecake would be incorporated somehow with the french toast but it was just a serving portion of french toast AND a slice of cheesecake…dun dun dunnn. We came, we tried, we left.

I really like brunches in mayfaire and on Randall drive. The food is great and the atmosphere is great. I like the staff as well. The one off 17 st don’t like the atmosphere the staff made us feel uncomfortable. It was in January of this year. The other two I always brag about them.

Oh. My. Goodness! We love breakfast/brunch food in general so we were excited to try this place. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The biscuit sandwiches were awesome. The beignets, however, were heavenly. 😇 The line gets a little long because the place is so hopping, but it moves fairly quickly. Would absolutely recommend.

A+++ Food and service were outstanding here. The biscuits are huge, flaky, perfectly cooked. I got a biscuit with chicken and it was so juicy and delicious, others got the biscuit with sausage gravy and pancakes. You cannot go wrong here. When we walked in (a weekday morning), the person at the counter was so helpful with her descriptions. We all got breakfast plus additional biscuits to enjoy with the jam and butter bar. If you enjoy fresh, hot biscuits— don’t hesitate!

While traveling, we decided to stop here because the menu looked delicious. There was a line out the door, and we noticed their hilarious “house rules” guide posted out front it promised the line moved fast… but it really didn’t. After ordering and finding a table, it took over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. I ordered the Vicious Biscuit, which was delicious, though I personally wished it had more gravy. My husband got the Hen Solo it was simple, good, and nothing too fancy. We also shared the beignets, which were fresh and tasty. Overall, we’d come back, but next time I’d probably order to go before arriving since those meals seemed to come out much faster.

The jam bar. Oh my god. Items just so good. ALL of them. So good. And the honey butter???? Yes. The cashier was so nice, explaining the menu and giving suggestions, as if he had all the time in the world. We had two of their biscuit sandwiches and an extra biscuit as a conduit for jam. Everything came out hot, fresh, and the person who brought our food literally said yell out for him if we needed anything. Really great place, great people and great food.
Peggy C — Google review
This is my second time coming here and the first time I came they were relatively slow and the food was decent. Wasn’t the most amazing food I’ve had especially for the price. However I went in today (on a Sunday afternoon) it was busyyyyy. A line out the door, wrapped around the building, people eating inside and out, but in my opinion the quality of the food during a rush is what makes it or breaks it for me. And today I made my decision to not go back there. It’s honestly way over priced for the quality of food, the wait time was RIDICULOUS, we were waiting for 30 minutes for the two most simple biscuits to make on the menu the fat boy and the hen solo. The biscuits weren’t even hot coming out of the kitchen like they were sitting there, BOTH of them came out upside down in the take out box. It was just not worth the money I spent nor the time that I waited. Very disappointed all and all. $20 for a mediocre biscuit and a wait time of 30-45 minutes. Not impressed, won’t be back.

Last week we had the privilege of enjoying an amazing experience here. We were greeted by smiles and great conversation from the manager as he sat us. We were then approached with more smiles from Domino, our server. She was amazing from the start. Told us of the specials and took our order. I had a loaded-up omelet, and my fiancé had the good ol boy customized with a blueberry pancake. Everything was delicious! Best omelet I’ve ever had. This will be our weekly spot for sure!!!! Thanks Domino and all the staff for producing an amazing day that we will cherish.

AmazingGGG! We arrived as the doors opened and so had 4 other vehicles, that alone had spoken volumes! It's clean and quaint with a tent for outside additional seating! The staff was welcoming and up best and quick to get us menu's and our drink order and were told our waitress would be with us! The menu was enough to take in but not over whelming, this is a breakfast and lunch location BUT my gosh the menu reads like a 3 star Michelin restaurant! A board lists all of the local locations they use from seafood, produce, breads and meats to support local vendors and use local grown crops to help local fishermen and farmers is truly amazing, no short cuts to make their meals easier to prepare or serve! Our waitress was super friendly she had a dog named Charlie as well as I 💖 she helped us with any questions but that makes an awesome staff, we placed our order, we watched as other customers food came out, I think they feed GIANTS here pictures to follow! A plate never went back because it was the wrong order or cooked incorrectly, it was fresh and hot and business was picking up quickly! Our food came and there was no mention to the humongous pancake that took up an entire plate or the scratch made biscuit the size of my hand plus the 3 eggs the 2 freshly made pork patties sausage and the wedges of potato called home fries 🙆 this was the Good ol boy breakfast my hubby ordered the biscuit sausage and gravy yep that's 2 hand size biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, he made it through 1, I made it through my eggs a few bites of potato home fries and some pancakes, no sausage no biscuit IT IS A LOT!!! But worth it! I think more than myself and my hubby waddled out of the restaurant 😂 we certainly will be back! Parking is free in their lot but as popular as this place is I am sure it can be full and hard to find a spot so come early!

Ok, I have lived in the Wilmington area for many years but it was this past month that I had opportunity to eat breakfast at Savor twice. Wow, what I was missing! Voted the best breakfast spot in the Cape Fear area and stands up to that reputation. Farm to Table taken seriously; so seriously that they post a board siting where individual foods are sourced locally. (A chalk board as these things change with availability) Lovely helpful staff, fast paced and can be loud; one adjusts to this idiosyncratic atmosphere. The food! Wow. Well done, affordable and delicious. I have had their Family Tradition Benny, hands down the best hollandaise in town, perfectly poached eggs and choice of two locally sourced hams. On another occasion, actually my first time I took a chance and ordered the Crab Cake Sliders ( I say took a chance as I am from Maryland and I don’t order crab cakes in NC) They did not disappoint. Well done Southerns.
Susan H — Google review
I always have good food and service when I go to Savor. Both as a Sunday brunch with the two of us and weekday large group meet us. The bowl with the grits and the braised beef is just glutinous in the best way, so good I didn't remember to take a picture. Their biscuits are HUGE. I got one as an extra side for my meal and it was the size of my plate. Fluffy, buttery, warm, golden outside with a pillow inside. If I was single I'd put a ring on it made of butter. Finally, they also have great salads and other options in case you forgot to wear your stretchy pants. The only reason I gave 4 stars: 1. The sweet potato biscuits aren't nearly as big as the southern style. I understand but I'm just greedy. 2. The new POS system doesn't allow for large group split checks. That's silly, so for dessert I had math instead of pie.
Keith N — Google review
If you're looking for down home Southern brunch, this is the place. Everything is made from scratch in house with locally sourced ingredients. The biscuits are huge and cooked to perfection. They are fluffy, melt in your mouth delicious. The homemade chicken sausage was also scrumptious. My husband raved about the sausage gravy. We got the fried okra appetizer and it was the ideal texture with creative and tasty pimento bacon ranch dipping sauce. It was casual and comfortable and felt so homey. The waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. Parking was slim pickens, and I see why. The portions were huge, the food came out piping hot and quickly, overall it was the perfect brunch location.

My wife had the shrimp and grits, which were delicious! I had the steak and eggs and they were the best I have ever had! Staff was amazing and the food was very reasonably priced. Get any of the iced coffees!

Best brunch place in Wilmington and it's not even close. Their waffles and syrup are my favorite in town. They have mimosas in a lot of flavors if that's your jam, too. Always check their specials. They had a creme brulee donut this morning that was delicious.

We love this place. It is one of the places we always take visitors when they first come to Wilmington. I love their salads. In addition to tasting delicious, they come out looking beautiful in these really nice bowls. They almost look too good to eat. I have also tried their pancakes, chicken, and biscuits and everything is always delicious. It can get really busy sometimes but we've never had to wait too long for a table.

The made my day!! I suddenly found this place, walking down the street and just got a seat. Appreciate server Jamie 🫶 She has a great attitude, knows what to suggest and was very sweet in general! The food was great! Fresh&healthy! Loved it! Highly recommend as they have GF options

This is a cool place with a lot of potential! My family and I have popped in for a late lunch. Tried to order them from the brunch menu, but a lot of items were sold out which is a good sign! That tells me that they typically make fresh and seasonal items. My wife ordered the hot mess burger. I ordered the music city chicken sandwich. And my kids share chicken tenders and fries. We also had duck wings as an appetizer! So I wasn’t wild about the duck wings, but I’m not holding that against them. It was my first time ever having them so I don’t really have anything to judge them with. Onion rings, french fries, and macaroni and cheese for our sides all phenomenal mac & cheese was probably a 10 out of 10! Portions generally are huge and generous! What I wasn’t wild about it was the service it’s a small place and we just felt very unattended. Had to wait for refills. Also seen waitresses on their phone the entire time. I would definitely come back and update this review after I have brunch!

I give this stop a 5 out of 5. I haven't had this kind of service and hospitality from a place in a long time. The bar tender, Katie, was sweet and made fantastic drinks and the cooks were on point with their cooking! If you are in the area I HIGHLY recommend this spot for some grub!

We tried several items from the menu but overall we left unimpressed Brisket side : dry, flavorless and honestly we didn't eat it after a taste The wellington bites, the only sorta good dish we had here, however after sitting a while in the dish it gets soggy, and the meat overcooked. So take it out into your plate but don't burn yourself. Corned beef hash platter, bread was good, meat was good, missing veggies like onion and peppers imo, little over cooked eggs as well not runny . The cheese appetizer we were hoping would be melting gooey cheese was actually just hard rubbery / crunchyish cheese that was rough to cut and really covered in oil. NOT DIPPABLE at all. Service was good.

2,500 reviews can’t be wrong! This place is always amazing. They have delicious and unique specials and make everything fresh in-house. We have dined here numerous times over the years and brought family and friends with us and never have I heard a negative comment. Tonight’s special was chicken fried chicken with sawmill gravy. It was the perfect blend of savory, spice and crispy that made me need to post about it. The space is intimate which adds to its character and charm.

Absolute best wings I’ve ever had. Fall off the bone with the most delicious buffalo sauce. Even better: they were only $0.75/ea on Monday afternoon! Can’t get better than that! Definitely check them out if you’re in downtown! Note: the seating is limited, so if you have a large party there might be a wait or you’ll need to sit outside.

Cozy brick interior and fantastic food! It's a small space, so seating can be an issue and reservations are recommended for dinner. A small selection of beers on tap and some interesting mixed drinks, but everything on the food menu is worth a try! The burgers come highly recommended and the wings are fantastic. We also loved the brussel sprouts.

Nestled in the heart of Wilmington, JohnnyLukes KitchenBar is a delightful fusion of elevated pub fare and New American cuisine, all served in a bright and contemporary setting. This two-story gem on Market Street boasts an impressive array of craft beers on tap, making it a perfect spot for both casual diners and beer enthusiasts alike.
As luck would have it this gem was next to my hotel room. I flew in for a 2 day install down the road. The food was delicious. My bartender Jewel was very attentive and knowledgeable. Her recommendations were on point. The braised short ribs melted like butter in my mouth. The calamari with the sweet Thai sauce was delicious. I took the Ahi Tuna app back to the room as a late night snack. I could have eaten that as a meal in larger quantities. So delicious! The extensive draft beer selection was impressive. The Red Oak was nice. Highly recommended!

This bar came highly recommended for their drinks and service. It did not fall short. Our server was so friendly and recommended so many items on the drink menu that we did order. They were all good. Especially the espresso Martini. We did not order any food items, but the prices did seem a bit high. Nice decor of the restaurant, and we enjoyed sitting outdoors.

Visited Johnny Lukes Kitchen Bar in May, and it was an absolute delight! Our waitress, Morgan, was a total rock star—attentive, friendly, and made the experience so enjoyable. The rest of the staff was equally impressive, seamlessly helping each other to keep everything running smoothly. The food selection was fantastic, with something for everyone, and every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The drinks? Top-notch, perfectly crafted, and a highlight of the evening. Highly recommend this spot for a great meal and stellar service! I got the last bite of the creme brulee!

Just a random place we visited for lunch on our vacation. I had the meatball sandwich and my husband had the chicken pot pie. They were soooo yummy! We both had a cup of the she crab soup aa well. I had a blood orange based margarita as well that disappeared from my glass all too soon because it was that good. Our waitress, Felicity, was both kind and attentive. I tagged the spot in our pictures on Facebook so I'd remember to return if we were ever vacationing in the area again. The restaurant is on the right side of the building, not easy to spot from the road but signage is visible. The inside of the restaurant was quaint with a nice ambiance. There is a 2nd floor loft as well but it was closed during our visit. Great spot!!

This was such a good spot for a casual meal! We dined on the outdoor patio on the second level. While there isn’t a good view, it’s still a really great atmosphere. The lights and fans were a nice touch. I had a vegetarian sandwich (goat cheese, mozzarella, avo, and spinach with pesto) that was delish! My friend ordered the crab cakes and said they were the best she’d had in a long time. Our cocktails were yummy and our server was lovely. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Wilmington!

It's awesome. The lump crab cake sandwich was wonderfully delicious. Mac and cheese uses cavatappi pasta. Meatball sandwich was also great. Seating upstairs, outside and downstairs. Just wonderful.

This place is awesome! I’ve had a couple of celebratory events with family and date nights here, and it’s always amazing. The crab dip and chicken wings are my go to and they’re always perfect! The buffalo and honey bbq wings are so good. They have a main dining room downstairs and a high top bar area and outdoor seating upstairs. We always sit upstairs and love it. As far as food goes, they have a wide range and something for everybody. Would highly recommend.

Jimbo's Breakfast & Lunch is a long-standing, cozy spot that serves up classic breakfast and homestyle dishes all day. This family-owned diner on South College Road has been a local favorite for over 40 years, offering nostalgic vibes and old-fashioned charm. The menu is extensive with plenty of options to choose from, including fluffy buttermilk biscuits and hearty ribs. The friendly staff provides great service, making it a go-to spot for a satisfying home-cooked meal.

The place was busy with lines out the door, but to our surprise, we were able to get right in with a couple bar seats. We were still served right away, even with how busy it was, and the staff was very friendly. We loved the happy birthday banners hanging all over the restaurant for the owner as it showed how much of a family they are. We stopped here traveling from Raleigh, it was a great route right off the highway and on our way to Myrtle Beach. I had the classic breakfast which was perfect, and shared delicious biscuits and gravy with my boyfriend. We will be back!

Jimbo’s Breakfast & Lunch is exactly the kind of spot you hope to find when you’re craving hearty, classic diner-style comfort food. The waffles are the star here—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with plenty of toppings. The strawberry waffle piled high with whipped cream is a sweet indulgence, while the plain waffle with sides of bananas, strawberries, and whipped cream lets you build it your way. The savory options hold their own too. From golden grilled cheese with ham and melted cheddar, to fresh omelets loaded with veggies or spinach and topped with hot sauce, every plate feels homemade. The hash browns are crispy and well-seasoned, and the grits with melted cheese and butter are the kind of comfort food that takes you straight back to childhood breakfasts. For something heartier, the fried pork chops with collard greens, rice & gravy, and a roll prove Jimbo’s can handle lunch just as well as breakfast. Generous portions, flavorful sides, and that home-style touch make it worth every bite. The vibe is simple and welcoming—classic diner plates, no frills, just good food that keeps you full and satisfied. Service is friendly and efficient, keeping the experience relaxed and comfortable. 👉 If you want real breakfast or Southern comfort done right, Jimbo’s is a must-visit. Whether you’re in the mood for waffles and fruit, a hearty omelet, or a down-home lunch plate, this spot delivers big portions, great flavor, and that warm diner charm.

I traveled a long way just to try this place, and it was absolutely worth it. The food is phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and cooked with real care. Portions are generous, coffee is spot on, and everything comes out hot and fast. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming, like a classic diner should, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel at home. This is the kind of spot you wish you had in your hometown. If you’re anywhere nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in—you won’t regret it.

We came on a Saturday around 11 am and it was so busy. Every table was full. Not a long wait thankfully. The menu is large and there are so many options. Breakfast is served all day. Great selection for everyone. You can't go wrong. The flavors and sizes are great. Maybe more than you can imagine eating. Grab a to-go box. The waitress and host were very kind. Great service for us. Definitely check it out for your home cooked meals and style of food.

An old-timey diner. Friendly service, and good basic food. The quiche was good, but a little overcooked. The Southwest chicken omelet was tasty. A little overcooked, but still very good. I had the homemade biscuit, which was quite good. They serve "whipped spread" instead of real butter. That's one big switch I'd like to see. Overall a great place for breakfast, reasonable prices and a cozy atmosphere. Not a bit crowded on a Thursday morning.

Classic diner feel. Great breakfast with lots of choices. The wait staff are all delightful and attentive. Our party got a mix. Omelette, eggs and biscuits and gravy. All the food was tasty and well worth the cost. Prices are reasonable as well. It was definitely worth trying after driving past it for so long.

A standout dish you simply can't miss is their Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit—a true crowd-pleaser!
I’ve been coming here with one of my best friends since 2024. Best brunch breakfast spots in Wilmington. I travel all the way to Jacksonville for this type of good food. Their Eternal Benedict is amazing ! Their mimosas are Great as well. I love their Pokémon card theme menu. The only down side is there are some ingredients in certain meals that can’t be removed. Otherwise it’s a great breakfast place! Come in for a good time and great meal!

Eternally delicious!! The food was absolutely amazing. A very creative take on the typical brunch menu. The Caribbean illusion was amazing, I wish I could have the coconut pudding with mango on EVERYTHING. Definitely worth a visit for anything on the menu. The staff was also exceptional, Katie was so nice!

What an experience!! We recommend trusting the chef signatures. Our waiter told us this and it exceeded our expectations. I got the Caribbean illusion and my partner got the Spiral down, boaring out. They were amazing. The spiral dish is hands down the best pancakes we have ever had. They look like cinnamon rolls but taste like heaven. Crispy on the edges and just the right amount of sweet. They come with pork belly that was yummy too. We got a mimosa flight. They were a little strong but delicious all the same. We shared a flight and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. The Caribbean illusion was so fire 😭 the presentation is unique and food itself delicious. I got the bacon with it. Every item was uniquely amazing. Would recommend and return.

We have recently visited after moving away from Wilmington and we're excited to go back to one of our fav brunch spots. We were extremely disappointed to find that the menu had changed and pricing was outrageous for the food we received. There was only two servings of hollandaise left, so members of our group couldn't order what they wanted. There were also NO substitutions (literally asking for plain versus chipotle hollandaise) . I was offered to hold the chipotle hollandaise and put plain on the side for an extra charge. Geez! My side of fruit salad was 6 bite-size pieces of fruit and the "croissants" were smaller than an English Muffin. Bacon was limp, greasy and only crispy around the edges. The food had good flavor and the staff were very nice, but definitely will not return for the $19-$29 tasting portion of eggs Benedict, but at least they could cook an egg correctly. Just sad that a delicious Wilmington spot has fallen flat.

If you’re a celiac, here’s your breakfast spot! They have a printed gluten free menu with SO MANY OPTIONS! The food was absolutely out of this world delicious, the staff were beyond kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is upbeat and fun! I have zero complaints. I’ll be back again every time I visit Wilmington!
Melissa C — Google review
I’m here on a Tuesday afternoon Lauren is my server, my experience walking in was immediately filled with happy energy and big smiles! I called earlier to make sure they take Apple Pay bc I forgot my card… THEY DO!(: The menu is small but filled with a great amount of delicious well thought out options! The top of the menu has a detailed description of the chef specials which all sound amazing! The music they play is calm soft pop folk music, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Vance Joy. They have FRESH SQUEEZED OJ which is staple for me if I’m going out for breakfast! When I was served my food the plating was BEAUTIFUL and every bite was better than the last! I cannot wait to come back! A lot of the signage makes me think they get very busy on the weekends so make sure you show up early but you can make a reservation if you have 8 or more in your party!

If you're on the hunt for a delightful breakfast or lunch that captures the essence of New York, look no further than S & L New York Style Deli. Nestled just outside downtown along the bustling 17th Street, this charming deli is quickly becoming a local favorite. With an array of mouthwatering options like the Godfather sandwich and Cajun Shrimp wrap, it's hard to resist returning for more. The aroma wafting through the air as you step inside is simply irresistible.
This is a super nostalgic feeling deli and a great spot to grab some lunch. They have pretty much everything you could want on a sandwich, from classics to new creations, but they also have a pastry case with tasty selections! The staff were very helpful and kind, and you can tell this place attracts a lot of regulars. This is yet another hidden gem for locals that is worth trying.

Stopped in for a carry out order. I order the Philly Cheese Steak. Got back to the office opened up the to go container and this is what I got for $12.00. No flavor, meat is dry and bland. I can surely go to the store and make my own (better and cheaper). After this I will not go back, I know the economy has changed but this is a lame / sad wrap for $12.00. What few bites I took I just threw up, stomach started hurting and it just came back up.. Tossed the rest which was most of it.. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Hopefully my review wont get deleted

Oye Mi Gente, if your looking for NY Style Deli for breakfast this is the place! Our family tried their famous Dr Hooks; bacon, eggs cheese, & Jalapeño cream cheese ( freshly made in house) with everything bagel, it was amazing! Walking in & looking at every inch of the Deli with pictures, posters, memorabilia reminded me of back home while playing nostalgic music. Everybody attending us was so nice. Even met Tami & her hubby, owners & enjoyed conversations about back in the day at home. Now we have a place to go for breakfast everytime we go visit Wilmington, NC! Prices are great & place is very clean! Thank you S & L NY Style Deli you'll see Familia Muñiz & Familia Abreu again!

We hadn't been here in awhile, as it's not near where we are most of the time when we're ready for lunch, but we were immediately reminded why it's worth coming to, no matter how far away you are. The service is the absolute best. It feels like the employees are people you've known for a lifetime. They treat you like you're familiar to them, like family or friends. The food comes out quick and is so delicious. The menu choices are many and the variety of items ensures there is something for everyone. The dessert selection is extensive. The prices are reasonable. There's really nothing bad I can say about S&L except that it's difficult to find parking sometimes, but it's a testament to how great they are. It's always packed.

My first time visiting S & L New York Style Deli I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised with the menu options. After returning a 2nd time within a month, the consistency of the service and the food was very much appreciated! I ordered the Godfather both times with a side of potato salad. Hands down this place has the best potato salad I have ever bought in a restaurant - and as a Southern gal that's one of the highest compliments I can give!!!! :-) Nothing fancy nor pretentious about this place (and that's just fine), and they do a great job of getting the lunch rush/to-go crowd taken care of in a timely fashion.

White Front Breakfast House is a popular local spot known for its no-frills, diner atmosphere and delicious breakfast offerings. Despite its unassuming exterior, this weather-worn one-story building attracts patrons with its great service and tasty food. The restaurant's fluffy pancakes, crispy yet fluffy hashbrowns, flavorful grits, and well-mixed omelets have garnered praise from visitors.
This place is special. You really don’t see a lot of classic diners around anymore. Especially with the ever growing gentrification of wilmington. But this place - and I mean this in a good way- looks like it hasn’t had any kind of update in at least 50 years. Nothing flashy, no brunch mimosa millennial bs, just good food and an old fashioned atmosphere. The staff remembered us after only one visit and were incredibly kind. Food was delightful, service was fast, and we left happy and full :)

Great little gem in center of town. Service was on point, never a moment of needing anything. The food was delicious. I had the fried bologna, hash browns & eggs topped with sausage gravy. The diner had old fashioned metal turn style seats at the counter. Due to small size, there's only 8 booths, so may have to wait for booth seating. Parking lot was full, so parked on street is convenient. Definitely recommend to others.

10/10! What a great experience this morning?! The Poorman's Benedict was excellent! Just enough food ready in minutes! They have the best gravy in town, just like MeeMaw used to make! We have visited and eaten at White front breakfast house several times over the last eight years. It’s certainly a throwback to an earlier time gone by which is refreshing to see. Unlike the somewhat plastic and predictable atmosphere and set ups of most restaurants, white front breakfast house has been the same for the last 20+ years. The restaurant is clean, the white front staff is friendly. On our most recent visit the food seem to take a bit longer than expected given that the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. But in fairness, the short order cooks were continuously cooking, so I’ll give that a pass. The food is definitely country and I will post the menu so you can see that it certainly isn’t like any other restaurant in Wilmington.

I went in today and a rude customer made a comment on my jeans and my cardigans and said “I ought to be ashamed of myself” I told her to stop talking to me . The cashier looked at the customer and started nodding her head in agreement. I’ve had bad experiences with her too . She made a comment about my pants and said my mother would be disappointed and said “you people always look like that” . I’m sure you know exactly what she met by people. My drink was missing out my order and I called but when I called they declined and I called back and was blocked . I’d like a refund for not getting all I paid for and the micro aggressions thrown at me . This is not the type of service that should be accepted . On top of the food being cold, the disrespectful people and the blatant racism and not getting what I paid for , I don’t know which is worse . I wish I could give 0 stars

Coffee shop
Nestled in downtown Wilmington, Bespoke Coffee & Dry Goods is a classic coffee shop offering an array of beverages and baked goods. The mid-century interior design, abundant natural light, and pleasant acoustics create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. This locally owned establishment serves counter-culture coffee and local craft beer, making it an ideal spot to work or socialize. Known for its relaxed vibes and high-quality espresso, it's popular among local artists.
Bespoke is hands-down the best bar in North Carolina. This spot in Wilmington is unlike any other cocktail bar in the state — and honestly rivals some of the best bars I’ve been to in NYC. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, but what truly sets Bespoke apart is the exceptional attention to detail in every single drink. Whether you’re sipping a perfectly balanced craft cocktail or a spirit-free beverage, everything on the menu is a standout. I went with a group of friends and audibly said “wow” after every drink we tried. We even did a vintage Fernet tasting that completely changed the way I think about amaros. Don’t miss their draft cocktails (the Aperol Spritz is next-level), or their elevated takes on classics like the Surfer on Acid. As if the cocktails weren’t enough, I came back the next day for coffee — and had the best cortado I’ve had outside of top-tier spots like Proud Mary in Portland or Onyx in Arkansas. Bespoke is so much more than a “Neighborhood Amaro Bar.” It’s a must-visit for anyone who loves cocktails, coffee, and a genuinely thoughtful hospitality experience. I’ll be coming back every time I’m in Wilmington.

It’s very weird that some coffee shops are now belittling their customers for not wanting alcohol. Apparently after 4, you can only get some unsweetened coffee drinks. (because it’s too much trouble to keep coffee syrup available after 4???) They said they could make an unsweetened latte. Evening hours are great, because no other coffee shop does it, so don’t be fooled, it’s primarily for alcohol. I loved the flavor and texture of my salted pistachio latte I got here one morning, but they couldn’t even put it in a for here cup like I asked and when I reminded them, only offered to pour the beautiful latte into a mug, instead of remaking it, with no other customers in the store. Loved their drinks, but terrible customer service. Not sure if I’ll be back. Such a disappointment.

I was friendly greeted right away and ordered a cortado and a pasterie . Both came out quickly however the presentation on the cortado in a clear water cup and with a circular plate which doesn’t seem to go together it’s a bit odd and I was worried it would fall over carrying it to my seat. The milk in the cortado tasted a little bit burnt the hand pie had good flavor overall.

Finally made my way down to the cocktails portion of this place . These people know what they’re doing , the owner of this place helped many high end bars and restaurants before he made bespoke into what it is now . I must say I had some of the best cocktails I’ve had in this city at bespoke last night , also the coldest mugs and glasses I’ve ever drank out of around . And they have the “good ice” fresh fruit and garnishes. Friendly staff . Chill vibes . I will be coming back more often . Thanks bespoke !

Nestled in the vibrant area of Wilmington, Pine Valley Market is truly a culinary treasure that deserves your attention. Owned and operated by the talented chef Christi Ferretti, this charming spot offers an enticing lunch menu featuring hearty soups and delectable sandwiches. For those seeking convenience without sacrificing quality, their selection of pre-prepared meals—like creamy macaroni and cheese, savory lasagna, flavorful enchiladas, turkey tetrazzini, and stuffed shells—will surely impress.
If you are thinking about hiring Pine Valley to cater your wedding, just do it. I cannot express how grateful we are for what an incredible job Christi and her team did for our wedding on 8.31.24. Much of our family is Lebanese and we really wanted to include some common Lebanese dishes. Christi helped us plan out snacking boards with various Lebanese snacks, sourced pita bread, and created a menu that included middle eastern items as well as some southern favorites. It is not easy to impress our family and we received so many compliments. “I will be dreaming about the food from your wedding” is just one of the many compliments we received regarding the food.

I’m in and out of restaurant kitchens all day for my job. I did some work for these folks and it’s one of the cleanest kitchens I’ve ever been in. I decided to get some dinner from them and it was amazing. They have lots of frozen take home options as well, made fresh like casseroles and pasta dishes. 10/10 would recommend and suggest taking a cooler so you can do some to-go shopping after you eat! Super friendly staff as well. Give them a shot!

This is where the locals go to eat and for good reason! The quality and variety of the sandwiches, soups and salads I’ve had here never disappoints. Staff is very friendly, helpful and welcoming and it’s great being able to get fresh and healthy lunch options. Everything tastes homemade and I’ve never had a bad meal or bad experience which is rare these days. Their frozen, to-go meals are also delicious, reasonably priced and super convenient to bring home for dinner.

Incredible presentation and delicious food! When planning a party Pine Valley Market is a great resource! Always a crowd pleaser.

As a wedding planner, I work with a variety of caterers, but Pine Valley Market and Christi are truly in a league of their own. From the very first tasting to the final bite at the reception, their service is impeccable, and the food is absolutely sensational. They go above and beyond to ensure that every detail is perfect, offering both exquisite food and flawless service. What really sets Pine Valley Market apart is their ability to tailor menus to each couple’s unique vision. Whether it’s a traditional three-course meal, a creative buffet, or an interactive food station, they deliver with incredible precision and flavor. The presentation is always top-notch, and the guests are always raving about how delicious everything is. On the day of the wedding, the catering team is smooth and professional, handling everything from the timeline to the guest experience without a hitch. They’re adaptable, organized, and always ready to accommodate special requests, which gives me—and the couple—peace of mind. I can’t recommend Pine Valley Market enough. They consistently deliver exceptional food and service, and they’re an absolute dream to work with. If you’re looking for a caterer who will elevate your wedding experience, Pine Valley Market is the one to choose!

Delivery app transition from Chow Now to Local by Toast apps did not deter Christina who took a personal nterest to ensure my need for lunch, and replenishment of their wonderful quiches (outside of the cafe menu) were delivered to the “right” address in record time. The tech glitch did not stop her in assuring my handicap and frustration were set aside with a full, quality food-filled belly!! Huzzah, Christina!!!!!

Wonderful caterer! I ordered multiple trays for a party. My order was perfect even after making a last minute addition. The staff helped me load the car and made sure I had all the utensils that I needed. They even provided table cards for each tray. My guests spent the entire evening raving about the food. I was told that the " hummus was the best they'd ever had", the homemade potato chips " we're out of this world" and that "the ranch dressing was so good they wanted to drink it", and "the fig and blue cheese was amazing ". I look forward to using pine valley market again soon.

Dram Yard, located in the ARRIVE Hotel in Wilmington, is a charming restaurant that offers a unique dining experience. The establishment recently reopened after a temporary closure and is ready to impress patrons with its southern coastal cuisine and creatively named cocktails. The interior boasts modern decor and warm lighting, creating an inviting atmosphere for a special date night. Additionally, Dram Yard features a quaint garden patio for outdoor dining.
We had dinner at the Dram Yard last night. They were some of the best meals we have had in Wilmington. NC. Our server Pat was attentive and excellent. Great recommendations. We will be back!

We were looking for a great place to celebrate my big 75! We celebrated at Dram Yard and it was superb! We started with 🦪 and cocktails followed by duck breast for my wife and Tile fish for me with Huia Sauvignon Blanc! The food was top notch and the service matched the food! The Team coordinated service to make sure our celebration was the best it could be! Shout out to the best team in Wilmington; Mere, Tim, Camelia, Chef Rhye, Chef Nick and John!
James N — Google review
Dram Yard offers the kind of experience that instantly transports you — it feels like a mini vacation, even if you’re just popping in for brunch. The interior strikes a perfect balance of charm and sophistication: small, curated design touches give it personality, like a bar crafted from an old post office box, while gold accents and natural tones and fibers create a relaxed yet elevated atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the chef. The hostess then seated us and later returned with drinks: a classic coffee and a Tiki Latte. While the regular coffee was smooth and satisfying, the Tiki Latte, though creative, could have used a bolder coffee flavor to match its fun presentation. We started with the O.G. Breakfast, subbing avocado for bacon — a simple, wholesome dish with perfectly cooked eggs. The Avocado Toast was a standout, especially with the addition of a poached egg. The unexpected pairing of marmalade and chile crunch created a sweet, spicy, and savory bite we didn’t know we needed — absolutely delicious! We also tried the Brunch Wrap Supreme, which, while still good, was our least favorite of the day. A punchier element, like a chipotle cream sauce, could take it to the next level. Overall, Dram Yard delivers a delightful dining experience with thoughtful dishes and an atmosphere that feels like an escape. We’ll be returning!

I love this place. I’ve been twice, once with my family and once for date night. As a family we shared a few entrees and they were all excellent, my kids are pretty adventurous eaters and they all loved the duck. For date night my husband and I did the tasting menu and it was excellent! One of the best plates I ever had was the eggplant curry (Chef if you could send me your curry recipe I would be forever grateful 🥹). The only thing we didn’t care for was the pork loin, but we don’t eat a lot of pork in general. The duck leg though… my husband still talks about how good that was. Phenomenal. I have one critique and it’s about the chocolate dessert and that you should consider splitting it into two desserts because it’s a little “one note”. They are both delicious on their own but together it’s too much. The torte with an orange sorbet would slam. Just a suggestion:) but we love this place and will always come back. Very accommodating to my gluten free needs. No kids menu but if your kids are adventurous still bring them! Great service and wonderful staff.

Loved our dinner experience: food was amazing, service impeccable, ambiance top notch. Also love the decor!

We had the Spaghetti Carbonana which was very light for a carbonara and delicious, the Wagyu which we didn't get a picture of cause we devoured it too quickly. Only tip for that one is if you don't like garlic that much, keep an eye out for larger pieces in the demi. I like garlic so I was perfectly happy with that. We also had the duck breast. For the two entrees, especially the duck breast, the sauces were soooo good and helped the protein sing and the sauce + garnishes were fantastic with the meat. We finished with a cherry cheesecake and the rice pudding. The cherry cheesecake I would absolutely get again. The rice pudding is more of an acquired taste and fascinating, but there were some more solid clumps of rice in it so it’s a maybe on ordering it again for me. I think we ended up ordering three VICTORIA’S TRIP TO ITALY cocktails. So yummy, so refreshing.
Caryn M — Google review
The chi late was fabulous, the best in all the land! Something unique would be the duck fat doughnuts, also delicious. The eggs Benedict had a very creative presentation but the taste was the show stopper. What a great experience! Well done.

I had the pleasure of dining at Dram Yard, and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely delightful. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth—the hostess, our waitress, and even the bar staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. It’s rare to find a place where every interaction feels so personal and kind. The atmosphere was equally inviting: stylish yet cozy, with a great energy that felt both lively and relaxed. It set the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal. Our server, Amanda (I believe), took the time to explain the menu format, which was incredibly helpful as it was our first visit! We were impressed with how efficient and timely the service was. Our food came out at a perfect pace—never rushed, never delayed. The menu was a standout on its own, offering a diverse range of creative, thoughtful dishes that made it genuinely hard to choose (in the best way). Now for the stars of the show: the Brussels sprouts were phenomenal—easily the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, they’re the kind of dish you think about days later. And for dessert, the butternut squash cheesecake was nothing short of genius. The combination of textures and flavors made each bite feel like a discovery—comforting, unexpected, and beautifully executed. Dram Yard is a gem. It’s clear that the team cares deeply about both the food and the experience, and it shows in every detail. I can’t wait to come back.

Empire Deli & Bagel is a charming breakfast and lunch spot that captures the essence of New York and New England cuisine right in the heart of Cape Fear, just north of Wilmington. This cozy eatery is perfect for those craving a delicious bagel or sandwich to start their day.
We have been coming here for over 15 years. The bagels are always delicious with simple, great flavours.

My first visit here was a Saturday morning, there were a few people in line, but it moved quickly and I got my order fast as well. I like to judge a bagel place on there everything bagel with plain cream cheese with the bagel untoasted. The bagel was very tasty with a good amount of cream cheese. It had a bit of crisp on the outside, but a bit more toasty on the outside would make it perfect. The cut was also quite off center. I'm looking forward to another visit.
Ken M — Google review
Full disclosure: l am from the Philly area, so that is what l measure my bagels by. I love a toasted cinnamon raisin or everything toasted with cream cheese. When l toasted the bagels the shell became hard and crispy. Not an enjoyable experience. But the next day l pan seared the bagels in butter to make a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich. Much better. Would l buy them again - yes, but only for making sandwiches, and only if I was in the area.

Update your hours on your website, add an answering machine to the phone number, or have the calls forward to someone. Two days in a row I’ve shown up to what used to be my favorite bagel shop. The first day, the website says open, hours on door say closed. Now the next day, a new sign is on the door saying closed for fall cleaning, after the phone rang for 10 minutes while I drove across town. Guess I’ll be driving 15 minutes back the other way, to an equally as good bagel shop, with a better view of the water, Bagels on Pointe. Communicate better next time

Empire was our go to spot for very good bagels when we lived in Porters Neck. We moved 7 years ago but always made a point to purchased at least a dozen bagels when in town visiting friends. The 2 dozen bagels I bought this morning were not very authentic & more bread like which is never good. They were Smaller and less dense with no chew…& little flavor. Whatever changed over the last few years was not for the better. Will not be returning until you improve your quality.

This is my go to place for a bagel sandwich for breakfast. They do get very busy, but the food is worth the wait. I have experienced a little mix up in my sandwiches, but can understand because I'm usually ordering for many people and their orders can be similar with little differences. Food is always hot and delicious!
L B — Google review
Visited this morning and wanted to take a minute out of my day to give my compliments to the man running the register at 9am this morning (9/6). Empires bagels are some of my favorite, but a bagel would just be a bagel (no matter how delicious) without kind and smiling employees behind the operation. Thank you not only for feeding me, but for making my morning with a smile!!

It's a shame to see your favorites go downhill. We've been visiting this spot for a couple years, when we're camping at the KOA. This latest visit we had to wait at the counter for someone to even acknowledge us. It's fine if you're busy, but at least say hi and let us know you'll be with us soon. Then the coffee bar was almost completely bare and un-kept. When we asked for creamer and sweeteners they were rude and acted like we were imposing on them. Fortunately there are other options in the area.

Drift Coffee Shop & Kitchen Autumn Hall is a popular spot in Wilmington, offering a modern and welcoming atmosphere. It's known for its extensive menu featuring espresso drinks, healthy breakfast bowls, brunch items, and sandwiches served all day. With three locations in the area, including one at the Mayfair shopping center, Drift stands out for its locally sourced ingredients and nutritious recipes. The cafe prides itself on serving beach-inspired fare and small-batch coffee in vibrant and airy spaces.
I stopped by for a cup of coffee and got an americano. It was very good. I didn’t have a chance to eat there, but I saw that they had avocado toast on fresh bread and some other things that look like they were both healthy and delicious. It had a very nice ambience, good son and a nice little table for a workspace if you were looking for it. It seemed like it was an odd location at first, and I second-guess if I was in the right spot, but it’s actually a very nice area.

Just an all around great experience. Well priced. Weather was perfect, hotel was welcoming, with a clean, warm design. This property is the former Blockade Runner. The grounds are very nice for families and offer outside grassy space for games and gatherings which is perfect if everyone in your family does not love the sand, like mine. The beach and ocean view was fantastic and we loved having access to the dock across the street for early morning fishing! During our stay, the fitness center was closed which was almost a deal breaker for my young athletes. We ate breakfast in the on-site restaurant and the food was good, but the service was quite poor. There were other servers hustling, so I think we were just unlucky here. The rooms have been renovated and we're nice. The one thing they could improve on is the sheeting. The sheets were a bit rough. All in all, a pleasant and relaxing visit.

Incredible customer service from the valet driver, front desk and restaurant staff. We loved celebrating our wedding night with Trailborn! Alana C — Google review
We lived in Wilmington for over 10 years and always wanted to stay at the Blockade Runner (now Trailborn) but never had a reason because well, we lived there. A friend was getting married at Wrightsville beach so we were excited to finally get to stay here. Upon check in, we immediately regretted our decision. We checked in around 10:30pm Friday night, I knew there was a $40 parking fee so I asked if we could just park on the street (free parking) and move to the hotel lot the next day. Common sense would tell you that it makes no sense to pay $40 to park for 4 hours. The receptionist told me I could park wherever I wanted but they were not waiving the $40 fee no matter what. I was a little taken aback by this and her attitude but it was late and I just wanted to get up to the room and go to sleep so I didn’t argue with her. We get up to the room and learn that the AC does not go below 69 and if you open the door, it cuts off. Seems very cheap of this hotel to micromanage guest air conditioning. Strike number 2. The next day, my husband went out to the beach to fish. I guess the staff thought that he looked like he didn’t belong in their hotel because they followed him to and from every door and even back up to our room. Didn’t say a word to him or welcome him back - just followed him around silently. Then, a sewage leaks occurred on our hall! It reeked of vomit and feces - yet not one person apologized for the smell, inconvenience, etc. or offered to make anything right. The staff are unfriendly and unaccommodating. They will judge you at first glance and treat you like dirt if they don’t think you deserve to be there. Someone should offer bias training to the staff. I promise you we were not even remotely close to the poorest people in that hotel but they assumed we were because we were young. I’ve had much better treatment at a freakin courtyard. Absolute bottom tier service that totally ruined our trip and left us feeling uncomfortable the entire stay. I will make sure to tell all friends and family to avoid this hotel at all cost.

Wonderful stay and the staff was great! Thank you Alex, Helen and Angel for your kindness and hospitality! This place is curated beautifully and sets one up for rest and relaxation. From the nice touches in the room to the grounds and property in general, it will all fill the soul as you catch sunsets and sunrises right from the property whether on foot, from your room, or on a bike, a wonderful place to stay!

We recently had a lovely stay at trailbornhotels Wrightsville Beach Trailborn Surf and Sound, and it truly was a delightful experience. The rooms were charming, and the great lawn provided a fun space for the kids to play. We were especially impressed with how clean everything was throughout the hotel. However, we did encounter some challenges during our visit. The elevators were out of order, which was quite inconvenient, particularly with three young children in tow. Additionally, after our departure, we noticed some room charges on our bill that didn't belong to us, which was frustrating. When we called to resolve the issue, we felt more like we were being questioned about the charges rather than receiving the support we needed. There was no apology for the inconvenience, and although a manager was supposed to follow up with us, we never heard back. We eventually received a corrected bill, but the way this was handled left us feeling undervalued as guests.
Elizabeth P — Google review
Just stayed there a few weeks back. They renovated the whole place and opened recently. The decor of the lobby and the rooms are very unique, they used earthy and muted coastal design. We arrived late at night but we were greeted nicely and to my surprise, the whole place was up, with lots of people in the lobby and at the bar! In the morning we went for a walk at the beach which is one minute or less from the hotel. Our room also had a beautiful view of the water. I wish the washroom were bigger, compared to the rooms it is a little cramped. Restaurants do not open fully in the early morning hours, and if they are open does have exceptionally limited menus. The housekeeper came inside our room without knocking, which was scary, inappropriate, and unacceptable. Informed about the incident to the reception, they apologized and refunded the destination fee. Otherwise would have given them 5 stars!! All in all, it is a gorgeous place and a beautiful hotel.
A A — Google review
First time staying here for a quick birthday trip. Beautiful hotel and friendly staff, however, they were not up front when booking about all fees due. Upon checking in, we were charged an additional $200 “incidentals” fee that would be released within 7 days of checking out. A surprise to us, but what choice did we have. Then overnight, we were charged an additional $280 and have no idea why. Lack of communication from the hotel about their fees is the reason for my review today. A simple family vacation turned pretty stressful pretty quick with an unexpected and unknown $450 fee (regardless if it gets refunded or not). Would not have booked here if we knew about this beforehand. Several other ocean front hotels nearby do not charge this. The room itself was already $450 so to have this extra $480 charged was unacceptable esp with no communication.

Social Coffee and Supply Co. is a charming coffee shop located on Wrightsville Avenue in Wilmington. Housed in a one-story building from 1969, this cozy spot was transformed by owners Giovanni and Rachel Ellzey into a beautiful space for enjoying craft coffee and tea drinks. The friendly and knowledgeable staff are known for their excellent customer service, with the honey lavender latte with almond milk being a local favorite.
I'll never be able to say enough good things about Social! The staff is always so welcoming and happy to chat about the newest menu items. I'm clearly a cappuccino regular but I love the variety of fun and locally focused options they have! And, they're big on supporting local bakers (such as Cakabakery!!), designers, creatives, etc. It's also a fantastic place to work or study from. The atmosphere is quiet enough to focus with perfect ambiance and music playing - love you guys and so happy for such a wonderful little local spot!

The name social coffee is perfect. I got an iced sugar free vanilla Latte. It was delicious. They also have stacks like muffins and even premade wraps. If you like getting merch from your favorite spots they offer their own. The T-shirt I checked out felt really nice. There is a big parking lot in the back and a couple spots including a handicap spot in the front. This is a must try if you are visiting or live in the area.

I drive by the place all the time and last week I finally got to stop by. I had an iced vanilla latte with an almond croissant. Both were sooooo delicious! The latte wasn’t too sweet, it was just right. I’ll definitely be back! 😊

Great coffee, I LOVE Social. It is always filled with people working on their laptops so do not be surprised if you cannot get a seat on any given day of the week, however this has never deterred me from stopping by.

Being in the coffee business I am always on the lookout for a great coffee shop while traveling. Well I found one. Inside was clean, beans roasted well and the barista was on point. My drink was made perfectly! One of the best I’ve had in a while. Texture, flavor, and foam was textbook for latte art. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The perfect place in Wilm to work remote or study! The staff wasn’t super outgoing but everyone there was quiet/working so maybe that’s the vibe. I ordered the ghost rider with oatmilk and it was 10/10!

Service is fast and efficient. I got the cold brew with a shot of expresso and heavy cream. Ready to pay until I notice they had cookies (I’m a sucker for fresh made cookies). The coffee and cookie did not disappoint, perfect for the traffic jam and long drive home. The cafe is beautiful decorated. Bathroom facilities well stocked and clean

Restaurant
Brunch Thyme is a new brunch spot in Wilmington's Brooklyn Arts District, owned by Corey and Phallin Scott. The restaurant offers Southern-inspired brunch dishes and has received high praise for its food and service. Dishes like chicken and waffles with champagne strawberries, shrimp and grits, Grandma Cookies grilled cheese, and steak and egg rolls have left customers impressed with their flavors. The portion sizes are satisfying, the food is served hot and fresh, and the prices are reasonable.
Brunch Thyme is a hidden gem! The food was absolutely amazing. I had the fish and grits, and they were perfectly seasoned, some of the best I’ve ever had. The location is small with a cozy dine-in area, but don’t let the size fool you. The food is well worth the visit. My family and I also tried the chicken biscuit and the grits, eggs, and bacon. Every single dish was delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. We left full and happy, already talking about what we’ll try next time. I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I’m in the area!

Great find on our short trip into Wilmington today. The only reason for 4 stars on atmosphere. Is there’s not enough seating for more people to enjoy 😊 This is a simple place to be shared. I had the SEC Biscuit. See photo👇YUMMY! Homemade Biscuits and to die for. They even have Turkey Sausage, yippee! 🥳 Grits that remind you of the good Ole south and no doubt with maple syrup. And several options of FRESH MADE JUICES!! Looking forward to coming back and trying their pancakes. Smell delicious. Thank you!!

During a recent visit to Wilmington for an acting gig, I had the pleasure of dining at Brunch Thyme. Their waffles were a highlight—perfectly sweet and crispy, offering a delightful texture and flavor. The over-medium eggs were cooked to perfection, boasting a rich and runny yolk that complemented the meal beautifully. Additionally, their bacon stood out as authentic and flavorful, adding to the overall satisfying experience. For those seeking a memorable brunch spot in Wilmington, Brunch Thyme is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Brunch Thyme absolutely delivers on flavor, presentation, and portion size. From the moment you open the container, the aroma says “made from scratch, made with love.” What We Ordered • Loaded Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl – Crispy, golden tater tots layered with perfectly scrambled eggs, smoky bacon, fresh scallions, and a drizzle of creamy, slightly spicy sauce. Every bite had the ideal balance of crunch, fluff, and flavor. • Classic Tater Tots with Ketchup – A simple side, but Brunch Thyme nails it. Crisp outside, fluffy inside, lightly seasoned—exactly how tots should be. • French Toast Sticks – Thick-cut, custardy in the center with a warm cinnamon aroma. Sweet enough to enjoy without syrup, but decadent if you add some. • Kickin’ Chicken Biscuit with Home Fries – Buttery biscuit sandwiching juicy, crispy fried chicken with a gentle heat, paired with hearty potato cubes. Comfort food at its finest. • French Toast Breakfast Plate – Fluffy scrambled eggs, savory bacon, and rich French toast—a perfect classic breakfast combo. Taste & Quality Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. The breakfast bowl was the standout—rich, savory, and indulgent without being greasy. The biscuits were fresh-baked with a perfect crumb, and the chicken had just the right level of spice. Even the “simple” sides were cooked to perfection. Service & Presentation Everything was packaged neatly for takeout, still hot and fresh when opened. Portions are generous, so you’ll leave full (and maybe with leftovers). The ingredients taste fresh, and the attention to detail in seasoning is noticeable. Overall Brunch Thyme is a Wilmington gem for both locals and visitors. Whether you want a creative brunch bowl or a comforting classic breakfast, they deliver in flavor, quality, and value. Definitely a place worth returning to—and next time, I’m bringing more friends so we can sample even more of the menu. Favorite Bite: The loaded tater tot breakfast bowl—crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavor.

Food was bomb 💣! I ordered the fish and grits with a side of French toast and was highly satisfied! The portions are great and definitely shareable . Please note there’s not much space to dine in at so you’re more than likely going to get it to go.

I love the food here. I ordered the stake and cheese bagel with tots, and my daughter Pancake, scrabble egg and cheese, along with bacon..The food was very good. Customer service excellent. I wish that they were in a better location, but all in all, very good.
Angela V — Google review
The food was beyond amazing and delicious. The price is extremely fair for the quality of food you’re getting. My daughter and I just went there today and I got the headliner bowl and grits. She got eggs, smoked sausage and bacon and everything was delicious. Their thyme sauce is insanely good. But I tried my daughter smoked sausage and that thing is delicious. We will be coming back but with the whole family. I can’t wait for this place to expand so we could sit down inside and eat. We also ordered two of the grape lemonades. Those are also very, very good. The staff was extremely friendly and the wait time was not bad at all. PS their cheese grits are fire.🔥
Nick H — Google review
The food here is amazing but know that it’s take out only! If you’re looking for a sit down place, this won’t be the place for you. But if you are planning to take it to go, definitely come! The chicken and biscuit was insane. Right amount of spicy and sweet. Small place and there was always people ordering so you know it’s popular! Parking was easy and free off the street.

If you're exploring Wilmington, North Carolina, make sure to stop by Drift Cafe Hanover Center. This delightful eatery is a haven for food enthusiasts, offering a menu that features mouthwatering dishes like the Buen Dias rajitas con crema and their famous blueberry pancakes. The cafe prides itself on serving minimally processed yet flavorful meals that are perfect for breakfast or brunch. With an inviting atmosphere complemented by beautiful decor and outdoor seating options, it's an ideal spot to relax with friends over multiple coffee refills.
Drift is one of my favorite spots to grab coffee, read, or knock out a project. The atmosphere is calm even when it’s busy, and the booths are perfect if you value a quiet space. They open at 7 AM, which is ideal for an early productivity boost. The staff is always kind, and the cooks are consistent and food is delicious. The price and menu are on point. I love the breakfast burrito and passionfruit smoothie, and just tried their mocha for the first time—absolutely phenomenal. Whether I’m there solo or meeting a friend, Drift stays in regular rotation for me. Quality food, great vibes, and a reliable place to land. Plus, they’re family friendly and have outdoor seating. ✅ Great early morning spot ✅ Quiet booths for working ✅ Delicious food & coffee 🎯 Favorites: mocha, burrito, passionfruit smoothie

Terrific breakfast spot. I'm sure the coffee is great, but we only tried the breakfast burritos, the potatoes and the mushrooms. All of which were fantastic. The potatoes came with a very tasty dip. Highly recommended for your breakfast and coffee in Wilmington!

"The first experience was very disappointing." This is my first time to the restaurant. When I walked in, I didn't see anyone coming to say hello or show me what to do. After a long time of waiting, I took the initiative to go to the counter to order. After calling, I went to the table to sit and waited when another staff came and told me not to sit there, and told me to "if you want to eat, go to the front of the restaurant" - a sentence that made me feel like I was being chased. While the food I had finished ordering and was on the table, she said that if I wanted to sit in this area, I had to contact first. But obviously from the beginning I was not instructed or reminded by anyone about that regulation. After that, she also called another woman to clean up all the glasses and eating utensils in front of me, making me feel seriously discriminated and disrespectful. I am really disappointed with the service and behavior of the staff here. Hopefully, the restaurant manager will reconsider how to train staff as well as the process of welcoming guests - especially for first- time visitors, so that no one else has to go through the same experience as me.

As a man, this is probably the best brunch I’ve ever had. Wife loved the aesthetic of the spot. Said it was very “giving”. Amazing food and service. Incredible atmosphere with great music. Manager was out frequently to make sure our experience was excellent. Get the Bennies.

I love drift, but this location is now on my no-go list. I am vegetarian and gluten free and every. single. time. i order food with modifications from this location, the modifications are completely ignored and i am unable to eat my meal. The last time this happened I emailed through their mobile app to try and get a refund and just never heard anything back. I’ve never had an issue at any of the other locations so I’ll just have to drive further next time I want drift, which sucks because this location is basically right across the street from me.
Victoria — Google review
Drift is fantastic! The menu is outstanding, and I've had dozens of 5-star experiences at both the Wrightsville Beach and Hanover Shopping Center locations. Today, I had another 5-star service experience, but there was one drawback: my favorite brunch item, the breakfast burrito, contained maybe a teaspoon of their delicious pulled pork. I’m being generous when I say teaspoon; the other half of the burrito was mostly egg, with just a couple of onions thrown in. No pull-pork. Despite this issue, I’m still leaving a 5-star review because I know they will address it, likely due to new employee training. I also left a tip of over $14 because the server was fantastic and busy training a new staff member. The restaurant was packed, so I didn’t want to complain in the moment. I'll definitely be back and hope the portion issue is fixed.

I was so happily surprised to find this Drift location this morning. Not generally in this part of Wilmington at breakfast time. It was perfect and the breakfast potatoes are incredibly delicious. We had an awful experience here. The server was by far the worst one we have ever had. We went on a Monday around 11 am and were one of 2 tables. She got everything wrong on our order and forgot the grits and then the water. The food was cold and the pumpkin cream pancakes were burnt and looked NOTHING like the picture. Just a few burnt pankcales with way too many walnuts. No cream. Oatmeal cookie cold brew was so sweet you couldn’t even drink it and the chorizo quesadilla was all egg and 2 pieces of chorizo. Definitely will NOT be back.

Sawmill Restaurant is a beloved local spot known for its unpretentious, homestyle American cuisine served with a smile. The charming diner offers a welcoming atmosphere and comforting dishes prepared with love and butter. Visitors rave about the delicious pancakes, bacon, potatoes, and bacon and cheese omelette. The restaurant also supports local dairy farms and uses quality ingredients like Land O Lakes butter.
We haven’t eaten here in a little bit so we decided to try it again. We both got chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. It was fabulous!! What made it better was the server Carra. She was nice, helpful and made sure we all had drinks filled. What even better about her is she is having a baby in like 2 weeks!! Congrats Carra! Thanks for making our visit wonderful!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the quality and flavor of their breakfast. The wait time to get our food was longer than usual based on other experiences. The waiters could be a little more attentive as well. The price of the food is pretty high. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for breakfast. I cannot speak for their lunch or dinner.

We have been going to this restaurant for years. On August 28 we were there with our family around 12:30 or so. We sat in the back room as there were 8 of us. We had to ask for a waitress 3 times. The restaurant was not crowded. Our food arrived after one hour of waiting. When my husband paid the bill he told the hostess about the service. Her response was you are served in the order you arrive and she had attitude.

We have been coming to CB for over 20 years now and have never ate here until now - and I could kick myself for that! 🤦🏻‍♀️It was sooooo delicious and very affordable - with the Early bird Special (3-5pm) - we enjoyed it so much that we came back 2 days in a row! The service was top notch both times too! The food came out at super warp speed!! Definitely a good place to go if in a hurry! The broccoli casserole, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and the bacon cheddar ranch potatoes were the greatest food I’ve ever ate !! 😋😋😋 And the chopped steak with gravy and onions was so good that we ordered it both days. I can’t believe we come to the beach and get better (and authentic) home cooking food than where we live in Appalachia of WV! 🥇🏆Highly recommend this place to any tourists if you haven’t been! You will NOT be disappointed. If we lived here , I swear we would eat here everyday I’m sure ! 😋Where else can you have a complete meal- with drink and bread for only $7.99?! I’m already looking forward to eating here next beach trip! A+++ all the way!! This place has it all- cleanliness, friendly and attentive staff and yummiest food you’ll ever have ! 👏🏼👏🏼

Family of three went on Sunday morning, seated at 10:15am at 11am we asked another server on an update for our food since we had not seen our server in a while. She stated she would check but we watched her walk by two times. We finally walked out at 11:08am. We were excited to try, so unfortunately we can't provide a review on the food. I can say they were very friendly to the regulars and seem to know many by name which would lead to a positive experience for some.

Went for breakfast and it took over 30 minutes to get our food. The English muffin hard as a rock, wasn't hot and the fake butter looked like mustard. There were shells in my shrimp and crab omelette too. It was almost $40, which seems pretty steep for the 2 of us. Didn't even order drinks. We probably won't be back.

Cast Iron Kitchen is a bustling eatery in eastern North Carolina that offers generous and scrumptious Southern breakfast and lunch dishes. Known for their chef's expertise, delectable flavors, fresh ingredients, and commitment to the farm-to-table concept, this cozy restaurant provides excellent service. If you plan to visit, be prepared for a wait if you arrive after opening or before noon as it tends to get crowded quickly. However, the wait is worthwhile!
We visited Cast Iron Kitchen for brunch and had an amazing experience. I ordered the chicken & pancakes with a side of grits, and my husband had the Not Your Mama’s Meatloaf with grits as well. Everything was absolutely delicious! The grits were the best I’ve ever tasted — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was great too. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Cast Iron Kitchen to anyone looking for a fantastic brunch spot in Wilmington!

My husband picked this restaurant when we were on vacation. I told him that I wanted pancakes or waffles so he picked here for breakfast. The atmosphere was appropriate for the name of the restaurant but to me it felt outdated and kind of tacky. The food was ok. My husband got the "dirty south biscuit" and he said it was good. I ordered 1 pancake with a side of 1 egg scrambled and a side of bacon. The bacon was fantastic as I like my bacon super crispy and this was that! My egg came out cold and was nothing special. The pancake that I had been craving was just not good. It tasted like buckwheat or whole wheat or something. I asked the waitress what kind of pancake it was and she said sourdough buttermilk. I've never heard of sourdough pancakes before and I hope I never have one again. It came with cinnamon butter and syrup. The coffee was very good with multiple flavor options. I got the salted caramel and the flavor was really good but it wasn't super hot so by the time I added cream it was almost cold. I just don't think that I would ever come back to this restaurant.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is a cozy chain restaurant that offers classic American comfort food and features an on-site general store. Renowned for its mouthwatering fried chicken, the establishment has garnered praise from notable figures like Alton Brown. The owner, Arthur Mr. Davis, is celebrated for his legendary recipe that has been showcased on the Food Network. In addition to its delectable cuisine, the store also offers a variety of local and seasonal products.
My wife and I decided to have Thanksgiving dinner at Cracker Barrel in Wilmington, and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, just like a holiday meal should be. The staff was incredibly friendly, and even with the holiday rush, they made sure everyone felt at home. The Thanksgiving feast was absolutely delicious. The turkey was moist and perfectly cooked, paired with classic sides like stuffing, mashed potatoes, and green beans that tasted homemade. The cornbread and biscuits were fresh, buttery, and a perfect complement to the meal. To top it all off, the pumpkin pie dessert was the cherry on an already perfect dining experience. What really stood out was how smoothly everything ran despite it being such a busy day. The servers were attentive, refilling drinks and checking in often, making us feel valued. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and decorated in a way that made it feel like a traditional Thanksgiving at home. We’re so thankful to have spent our holiday here. Cracker Barrel made our Thanksgiving memorable, and we’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for great food and an amazing experience.

Decided against online order due to up charge of nearly $4. Called to place my orders and immediately put on hold. Each time (3) someone would check the line, wouldn’t speak with me but continued my hold. Lasted 12 minutes (11:30-12:00) so I ended up going inside to place it. Then I had to wait 30 minutes to get my food. Still didn’t have time to bake the corn muffins so I was given biscuits instead. The green beans had the canned MSG taste. The cake was old, dry and had poor presentation. Bad experience overall

Atmosphere is “you are at your grandparents” vibe! Three section dining area (roomy but can have a wait time depending on time/season). Breakfast served ALL day! Family/Kid friendly! Free parking. My husband order the Ole Timer with an add on side. I ordered chicken dumplings (my usual). Even though it was not busy, it took quite a while for our food to come out. My husbands eggs were not as ordered. The biscuits (2-no jellies or butter) were cold. My chicken and dumplings had two pieces of chicken, dumplings were not good. The okra were hot, crispy, EXCELLENT! It was a disappointing visit, but we will still go back. Hoping it was an off time, since we were there after the Sunday lunch crowd.

Had a breakfast during the lunch dinner. Maybe this is was a mistake. But that was by far the worst breakfast I ever had at Cracker Barrel. Ordered Steak egg and hash brown casserole. The worst steak I ever had in my life... that was not a meat, that was just a piece of muscles with absolutely no seasoning. Only ate about 30% of my steak. Pancakes had literally no buttermilk in it... not fluffy like always

I went by myself for lunch on my birthday. Had a great waiter was very friendly and thoughtful. I was happy with the sweet tea and biscuit but the rest not so much. I ordered the Thursday special of the day which was Turkey, dressing, sweet potato casserole, and I ordered corn. It literally tasted like a TV dinner. The food was not that hot. I ate the turkey and a few bites of the dressing but yuck. The sweet potato was ok but I sure do miss the old Cracker barrel food used to be my favorite but not now. None of it tasted fresh or homemade. The corn was chewy like it had been frozen too. So sad the quality has dropped. I bought the candy goo goo’s last time and was disappointed how chinsy the chocate and pecans were so small compared to how they used to be. Sad to say im done with Cracker Barrel they have gone downhill with rest of corporate food chains that only care about profit. 😢

I did not eat this trip. I just went in to buy some gifts before they quit having or selling the western/country gifts. They had already put out Christmas decorations. It is not even September yet. I'm mostly interested in the western horse themed gifts. This is the best place in Wilmington NC to buy them I sure hope they keep them in stock. I did get a nice sweatshirt for my mom for Christmas and a horse head pen. I hope they don't take away anything in the gift shop. I love shopping there.

We LOVE Salt Works!!! It is quick, delicious, very friendly, and has great service. The hot dogs are THE BEST!!! The buns are steamed and the dogs are tender and not overly salty. The crinkle fries are so good, hot, salted, and SUPER crispy!! The waitstaff is constantly coming around to refill drinks which is great! And the value is amazing. It costs about the same as going to McDonald’s. Will return many many times!!!

Not sure why it took so long to eat here but am very glad I did. Wonderful food, they keep their coffee really hot, that's a definite rarity and much appreciated. Great veggie omelette, and they butter your toast, a detail that's often overlooked. There are picnic tables outside too. Came back for lunch and it was delicious, of course. Port City Java is a coffeehouse chain known for its house-roasted, organic java and a variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, and baked goods. The coffee is brewed using the Japanese Iced Coffee method, resulting in a flavorful and complex brew. Located on Market Street, it offers quick service through the drive-through with friendly staff. The shop has a pleasant ambiance with vintage decor and plenty of mini plants. It also provides a quiet reading area for customers to enjoy their drinks while reading in peace.
Relaxed atmosphere. I had their hot honey chicken on ciabatta and a low acidity Black Mountain organic brewed coffee to balance it out. Both were delicious! My friend had an egg and cheese croissant and a flavored coffee that she was was “great!” Would definitely return. Fantastic location

You really can’t go wrong with the Mocha Shake! First time at this location, but have been going to Port City Java for many moons. My favorite coffee spot 💕Food is pretty darn good as well😊

The five stars are exclusively for the staff only. They're highly skilled at what they do and I always appreciate everyone there. However, they are ALWAYS exhausted. I see this as an upper management issue and as much as the baristas deserve all the money, I will not support a business that isn't properly caring about the health and well being of their employees. These are wonderful people who deserve the best and they are clearly not getting the support they need. To upper management: tighten up and do better. Working with the public is hard enough as it is. And do NOT chew anyone out for being an imperfect/tired human being. Do right by them, because that's what they do for every guest that walks through that damn door. Thank you.

I am an regular customer at 21a-n.front pcjava. Along with coffee, I enjoy the friendly staff. I am disappointed that Lillian has been transferred. Part of what makes a place attractive to me is that I'm recognized and feel welcome. Like "Cheers". It's not just transactional, it's real human interaction. It's personal. I also hope the newspaper rack returns. When I sit down, I enjoy reading the Wilmington Business Journal, or Wilma magazine. Hope these will continue to be available. It's just a touch that shows human concern for customer comfort. Part of what I likeable this location is it's casual atmosphere. Feeling welcome is important to me. This is fast disappearing in our corporate economy.

This is a very nice coffee shop to sit down. Nice decorations. Lots of mini plants. I liked it's vintage and refreshing at the same time. Coffee was great too. It also has a book reading area for people who want to stay longer. It's relatively quiet compared to other coffee shops so you can actually read in peace.

IHOP is a popular restaurant chain that serves American breakfast and diner fare. The food is prepared quickly and exactly to order, and the server is attentive. The sweet tea is excellent, not too sweet. Be patient when you're in a public place and things will go well.
I visited just before closing. I was welcomed and the server was kind and treated me like they would be there all night. The hot chocolate was delicious and creamy, perfect for a chilly night. The food was great. I never once felt rushed to leave. Everyone was kind and friendly.

Someone in the kitchen LIED on their resume, cause what is this? At this point you should’ve put the whole tomato in my sandwich it wouldn’t have made much of a difference. I’m more amused than I am upset about a participant from Worst Cooks in America being in the kitchen of an iHop. I’m genuinely concerned for this persons level of cooking, I mean not even Alfredo Linguini was this bad. Also how’d they managed to get this job? I mean props to you, especially in this job market you gotta do what you gotta do. But like it’s really not that hard to cut a tomato, so I can only image what else they got you stirring up in that kitchen. I genuinely wanna see the resume they submitted in order to get this job, cause whatever it was, it worked.

Our experience at this I HOP was great. Our server, Chris, was very accommodating, pleasant, and helpful. He took our order carefully and accurately. Breakfast arrived quickly and just as we asked. We were very pleased with the cleanliness and good service.
Nelita H — Google review
Well it was the first time I’ve ate here in a long time and the food itself was really good, steak a little overdone (but it’s ihop I didn’t expect perfection) but otherwise great. You could hear the staff screaming about nonsense in the kitchen the entire meal though. My service was also fairly good until I asked for my military discount, was told I would get it. When I received my ticket I noticed it didn’t say anything about my discount so I asked again if my discount had been added to my order and was told yes it just doesn’t show on there. I made note of the cost of my meal on the receipt 1(18.99) on my way out I checked my receipt imagine my (lack of) surprise when I saw the steak tips are 18.99. So I was lied to, and overcharged because your server wouldn’t just get the manager to add the discount. Extremely disappointed. Gotta say that means I’ll likely never return. I rarely use my discount but when I do it’s because I want it used. Not someone to lie to my face multiple times.

Our waitress crystal was amazing and very kind. Our whole experience otherwise was very disappointing. Our waitress was double sat but still had a wonderful attitude. Took almost 40 minutes for our food to come out. half my husbands order was apparently taken by another waitress on accident so we had to wait another 20 minutes for the rest of his order. He asked for his eggs over easy and they came out more on the over hard side and were very bitter. Our waitress noticed and said she would have it remade but it never came out. My husbands pancakes were absolutely caked in chocolate chips. Like a gluttonous amount to the point where he was getting more chocolate than pancake. We were told part of our meal would be comped for the mistakes and then again, wasn’t. Very disappointed.
Caitlyn — Google review
Absolute worst place I have ever eaten. We waited 1 hour for our food to come out, the server was ok, but didn’t even stop to give us an update or apologize for our food being late. When we eventually asked her, she said we are packed and there are only 2 cooks at the back while waving her arms around. Food was ok, portion size was big. It also said kids eat free all day everyday but they charged us for our 8 year olds meal. I will never go back again. Breakfast that turned into lunch. We hit there at 11am and left at 12.:45pm
Ruqaiyyah I — Google review
We got to dinner late. Around 9 pm. They stay open until 10. There was one waitress and one other couple in there. She sat us in a booth right next to the other couple AND next to the door to the back dishwasher area. We got to hear 4 or 5 people in the back talking loudly to each other the whole time. Really loud. What would have been a nice quiet meal was not. Hash browns were very dry. Scrambled eggs were not fluffy. More like fried and folded on top of each other. Food was OK otherwise. Waitress was OK but had to ask twice for my sprite. Bathrooms weren't bad. Just not a great experience overall. Not what I expect from a IHOP.

Chick-fil-A is a popular fast food chain that never disappoints with its delicious chicken sandwiches and nuggets, salads, and sides. The staff is always friendly and the dog always appreciates a treats. The only downside is that the line can be long at times.
Service is great. A worker asked about our meal. If we had their limited banana pudding milkshake and we had. I told her about my daughter being obsessed with Chick-fil-A and she gave me a stuffed cow to give to her.

As expected, the service at Chick-fil-A was fantastic. From the moment we pulled into the drive-thru to order until we received our food, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was hot and fresh, and their peach milkshake was amazing! Tha ks again for a wonderful experience!

Have always loved this location but now even more knowing what honest people work there. ZZ, the manager that was working last night went above and beyond when she found my sons wallet and put it in the safe at the restaurant and called me after finding me on Google for my business hoping I was his mom! Wallet and his earnings from his very first first paycheck were all safe and sound. Thank you ZZ

What can I say? Chick-fil-A is the gold standard of restaurants—especially when it comes to fast food. Any restaurant hoping to succeed should take notes! I’ve been coming to this location since it opened, and while the food is consistently good, it’s the welcoming atmosphere and genuinely friendly service that keep me coming back time and time again. The recent remodel looks fantastic—clean, modern, and well thought out. It’s clear that this team takes pride in everything they do, from the kitchen to the counter. Thanks for years of top-notch service, and here’s to many more!

We came out to chick fil a for a date night. Food was amazing and we received it quickly. A young boy around 12 years old came in and was so sweet saying hi to us as he passed. When he went to get his mobile order, who I assume was the manager on duty (tall, loud lady with a red bun) began to berate him and was very hateful to him. She said he is never allowed to order here again. He left in tears. After he left she continued to talk poorly of him and essentially brag about how she treated him. Said she was being harassed. This is not the standard I think of when I come to Chick-Fil-A and I’m truly disappointed. I am aware that young boys are unruly and I’m unsure of what he may have done in the past, but there was a more adult way to handle the situation and it is disgusting how adults feel entitled to speak to children who have no adults to defend them. It was nasty, belittling, and truly unacceptable. Her loud complaining and talking could be heard across the store and she was more bothersome than the boy.

We stopped in for an early lunch after a doctors appointment in the area. Our daughter loved the indoor play area. It was neat and clean. Ordering on the app couldn’t be any easier. All menu items can be easily found and the customizable options are endless. Once complete, our order came out within 15 minutes and was prepared perfectly. Definitely stop in at the location! It won’t disappoint!

Visited on a Friday morning for breakfast (around 9:30a) and it was likely the freshest CFA breakfast we’ve had. Every time I’ve ordered the egg white grill at other Chick-fil-As, the English muffin tastes beyond toasted—borderline burned. Not sure what they figured out at this one but the sandwich was perfect and our minis were great too. I typically don’t review large chains but thought this one was worth a shoutout.

IHOP, a beloved chain known for its extensive selection of pancakes and classic American breakfast dishes, continues to impress diners with its comforting fare. On a recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of my avocado toast paired with a refreshing fruit cup; the roasted tomatoes added an extra touch that elevated the dish. My partner enjoyed fluffy pancakes and a hearty omelet, declaring them among the best he’s tasted.
We stopped here on the way home. It was surprisingly good! I had avocado toast with a fruit cup. The roasted tomatoes on toast were very delicious and took this over the top. Hubby had pancakes and an omelet. He said the pancakes were some of best he's had. IHOP still has good food at a reasonable price. The service was very friendly too.

Last time we came, service was extremely slow but the food was decent. This time, we came a little after 10pm, thinking they were open 24/7 like the door says. There was zero signage saying otherwise, but we were informed they were closed when we walked inside (no additional explanation provided). I’m guessing their hours have changed, but they should probably post them.

We were starving when we came in and I forgot to take pictures of the food before digging in. It just looked too good to wait, I guess. The double blueberry pancakes were so yummy. I couldn't eat them all so I saved them and had them the next morning. And they were still yummy. My hubby got the strawberry banana French toast. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The strawberries are in a syrup which was very good. The only issue for my husband was that the bread was very thick... it seemed even thicker than Texas toast.. and it didnt have that French toast flavor. So it kind of tasted like eating strawberries and bananas on warm bread. We were still full for many hours after eating. Our server was amazing. I wish I remembered his name. He was personable and attentive without being overly so. And he was just a pleasant person. The place was very clean! This is the first time ive been to a breakfast place without a sticky table!

If you're not getting pancakes, which are usually pretty good, the choices are only fair. I had fried eggs, which were fine, but the fried potatoes were very oily and unpleasant. The waitress was efficient and getting the food was quick. The coffee was good. This particular location was hard to get to, at least I had trouble since it was kind of on a service road alongside the main road, and I was using GPS.

Went for breakfast today. Stood at counter for 5-7 minutes. Not 1 person greeted us. No one spoke. The employees walked by me to give food to door dasher. Another guy was waiting for food. I turned around and walked out. The service here told me everything I need to know.

My second time here since I visit my daughter going to school in Wilmington and the service was slow both times. I thought going in around 10 AM on a Saturday would not be busy but wait staff was few and far between. Numerous open table but not seating customers. We were there just under 1.5 hours to get breakfast. I like IHop a lot and eat at them back home regularly but this one is VERY slow. I will be going to the nearby Waffle House locations as at least I know they will be timely. Whoever is managing this underperforming store needs to go or have a major corrective action plan.
Mark K — Google review
I love IHOP but I was so disappointed in this visit. I always read the reviews and noticed an issue with service but food ok so I took my chances. Waited 10 minutes to be seated and no one was even present, they were all in the cook area, no employees in dining area at all. After ordering 2 orders of just short stacks, it took 30 min to get our food and half my pancakes were burnt If you do not have enough staff to run your business, shut her down 😞 Why the staff continued to stay in the back with cooks and not out in dining area blows my mind which equals bad management!!! With this many reviews about the service why would someone not address this issue???

I had the opportunity to witness a genuine cluster this morning. Party of 10 walked out while waiting, despite 1/3 of the restaurant empty. Hostess tripled worked as server and busser. Golden Corral Buffet & Grill is a family-friendly restaurant chain offering all-you-can-eat American cuisine, including salad and dessert bars. Located in an easily accessible area, the buffet stations have a different flow that customers appreciate. The staff is friendly and attentive, with some mentioning specific waiters who provided excellent service. While there were comments about the cleanliness of the floors around the food areas, overall, patrons enjoyed well-prepared and hot food with fresh items at the salad bar.
Went there for a birthday gathering with a party of 12. Easy seating, food was great, recommend the sirloin and the ground steak. Several sides, everything was great. Service was good, drinks were always fresh and plates cleaned off fast! Friendly staff, really good!

Food was fresh and well seasoned. There were lots of really good meat options at the carving station. Lots of local tags in the parking lot and that's always a good sign.

I was surprised by the renovations and flow of the space...had the fried chicken which was delicious...like Grandma with a brown paper bag with all the seasonings just right fried crispy and moist not greasy. The sides were on point collards broccoli and corn and black eyed peas. That potato size roll with butter and sweetness is worth the trip ...Did grab some steak on the second go round but liked the variety of tacos pizza and meatloaf and pasta. I skipped the salad bar too crowded this time and dessert was ice cream and brownies can't go wrong for the Senior Weekend Price ...Lastly a team of servers and wait staff were hustling A+. Especially V-- clean area and attentive to the refills and plate removal. All good caught it at the right time about 530pm Saturday....give it a try and bring a friend.

Restaurant was good. The lobby entrance had an odor, likely a damp rug. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was well prepared and hot. Salad bar had fresh items. Floors around food area not well kept. A lot of food that had dropped on floor around the food service areas had not been cleaned up in a expeditious manner. No cold plates available by salad bar.

I visited here on 5/29/25 around diner time. Everyone working was in a great mood. Other patrons also very friendly even though it was pretty busy. I’m from NY so it’s refreshing to see the nice people 🤣 The atmosphere was pleasant, good vibes for sure! Between the people and the food, it was a great dining experience all the way around. The food was delicious!! 10/10 highly recommend! I’ve been to other ones that were not so great. You can definitely tell the chefs and staff, put their care into the dishes that are served here. So thank you to everyone that works here! Your hard work shows and I hope this message reaches you all. Next time I’m in town I’ll be stopping by for sure. Y’all gotta swing by if you’re in town!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our server was very polite and kept up with our drinks, but other staff in the place were less than professional. The fried catfish, the rolls and a few side items were good, but the meat at the carving station was cold and tough. Overall not worth the outrageous price for buffet food. I used to love Golden Corral, but this will be my last time. Just not worth it anymore

Went today for lunch 8/13/25. By far the WORST experience we have had at Golden Corral ever. The 1st plates we got everything was barely room temperature nowhere near hot. We reported it to our waitress she apologized. After that we decided to have salad since its already cold, the salad was decent. We went back to try again since we saw them putting out "fresh" food. Once again food was terrible not cold but definitly nowhere near hot. At that time i decide to go find a manager, i found a female manager didnt catch her name. When i told her our food was cold on several different trips to the buffet, along with the other issues we experienced she basically acted like i was lying. Her response was "oh well that sounds weird because we had some other ppl complain and another manager did temp checks on the food and the only thing that was off was the steak fries". She offered no apology or way to fix the situation. When i asked for a refund she ignored me and said that she would replace the ranch that was really blue cheese. Our waitress was great but other than that it was unsatisfactory a total waste of $30 for two ppl

This family restaurant is located in a very easy to get to location. It was a different type of flow to the buffet stations, and I liked it! Our waiter was amazing and the food was great! Nothing seemed over or under cooked. Plates were plenty and we were able to use my husband’s military discount!!!! If we’re in the area again, we are absolutely stopping there for dinner again. PS- the pictures shared were at home. I had to drive 3 hours back home & needed a few snacks to hello keep me awake and focused! While the entire dessert bar was fantastic, I chose the cookies & sour worms.

I recently tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich at Panera Bread, and it was fantastic! The sandwich is packed with juicy grilled chicken, crispy bacon, and a generous layer of creamy ranch that ties everything together perfectly. The fresh ciabatta bread was a great touch, giving it a nice crunch without overpowering the flavors inside. The service at Ruth's Kitchen was excellent and the food was also wonderful. The breakfast had a homemade, delicious taste. The staff, particularly Liz, were prompt, friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The homemade Biscuits were loved by customers and the Grits were tasty. The bacon was described as the best ever tasted. Despite being small and cozy in atmosphere, there was a lively ambiance with locals conversing and enjoying themselves.
First time here and found a gem of the old style diners! From the menu to the mix of table and chairs and clientele we enjoyed our lunch of liver and onions and chicken livers. Wife got the special for Tuesday, stew beef and rice, Mac & cheese, Field peas. I got the club sandwich and fries. Both meals were great! Everything was cooked when we ordered it. Nothing was bad! The server was great! I see why this place it's a local favorite.

The service staff were very nice. The menu and prices decent. The servings generous. Coffee was good. That's the good stuff. The place wasn't too clean. I ordered two eggs, tomato slices and burger steak. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy with hash brown potatoes crispy with onions. Our food was only slightly warmer than room temperature. It was also quite bland. The burger steak was dry and dense. I ate the tomatoes only. 😞

The jalapeño bagels are to die for! Eat them every weekend. Amazing how fast these women put out high quality food. Better than any NY City bagel I've eaten. The staff is friendly and the manager always remembers me and immediately greets me and makes me feel special. The whole experience is top notch. Highly recommend.

For what you pay, I was super disappointed. The bagel itself should not overpower the bacon, egg and cheese on the inside. Add more of the main components and it might be alright. Service was good though. Also, the hash brown tasted like grass. No flavor at all. Do better.

Definitely the friendliest staff and best NY style bagels in town. Michaela and team are always on it and very accommodating. Jalapeno CC is great

If you're in the mood for a delicious, fresh bagel sandwich, look no further than Bagels on Pointe - Downtown! This prime location right off of the Riverwalk is always bustling with locals and tourists alike, so be sure to get here early to avoid disappointment. Prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid-back and inviting. Plus, with Anthony taking care of you, you can't go wrong!
Yummy! What else can I say? They are open on Sunday!!! They are located in a very convenient location right on the water. They make their bagels to order. Their prices were very very reasonable. They also use very good ingredients and have a limited choice of tea and coffee. They also also have a few tables outside where you can sit and eat and enjoy the Sunday morning air …

Bagels were ok. After warming them up they were very flat. Had the pumpernickel bagel and was a bit salty. The two girls prepping food and managing the cashier were not friendly at all. Not even a smile. But they were very quick with the order.

I got the bacon, egg and cheese on a garlic bagel. Overall, it was pretty good. The bacon was the best part, thick and crisp. The bagel however was a bit dry and garlic on top was overcooked so it had a bit of a bitter taste. Price was great, Service was fast, but without a smile.. I will say, I'd happily come back but I would try a different bagel.

Good Lox bagel sandwich. Excellent service. There was one individual working the restaurant this day and she hustled to make everyone's orders. The salted bagel was a big hit with our crew.

Excellent location, delicious bagels with lots of options, and kind and hardworking service. Seems to be understaffed, but the one employee manning the griddle and the register was polite and incredibly efficient. On point, one may say. ;)

Bagels are on point. Small hole in the wall vibe. Simple and straightforward. Plenty of bagel options with eggs, meats, and cheeses. Delicious food. I didn't know honey mustard could add so much flavor to a breakfast sandwich.

This place was terrible. It was dirty and the woman at the front was rude and dismissive. The AC unit was spilling water all over the floor, leaving a massive puddle. I was sitting right below the AC unit and got water all over me. The staff asked my husband if he wanted the two eggs that came with the toast he had gotten so he said sure and told him it was an up-charge after he already paid. There were bugs flying around around the open food. I would not recommend this place at all. The “avocado toast” was just n untoasted slice of bread with guac on it, couldn’t even finish it.

Chick-fil-A is a fast food restaurant that never ceases to amaze, with their courteous service and fast pace. They are also efficient, with their 'pleasure' reply sounding scripted yet always genuine. Their hash brown casserole has become a all time breakfast favorite, while their chicken minis are delicious.
My kids love it, especially the mac and cheese and waffle fries. It's really good quality for the price and the lines are always quick. Staff has always been helpful and friendly.

I’ve ordered from this store countless times in the last two years and never had a problem with them. But I just ordered on DoorDash their southwest salad which is amazing BUT I just spit out a wood chip that was inside my salad. I was chewing and something felt extremely hard and I mean harder than usual to chew so I spit it out and it was A WOOD CHIP! The store won’t answer their phone and I don’t know if DoorDash is actually going to contact the store about a serious food safety hazard going on at this location. All I’m saying is the store needs to do a better job at inspecting their food and following food safety protocols and now I will always always pick through my food to ensure I’m not eating anything that’s not supposed to be in my food!!

Wouldn’t allow our child to use the restroom while we were picking up our order. It was 9:23 and the didn’t close for over a half hour. So they were more concerned with closing up on time than customer service/a patron. “Great” service there.

I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones. We also normally go to the Porter's Neck location but were passing by this one on the way home from the Wilson Center on my birthday. We only had cash on us. They did not seem to know how to deal with this. We ordered two large drinks and a medium mac n cheese. When we got up to the window, after waiting in a very long line of cars, they said they were out of mac n cheese and asked if we wanted something else? We answered that we would like chicken nuggets. We were then told that we would have to accept a refund instead. After about eight employees gathered around to do math, we were handed back the cost of the mac n cheese, no food, and no drinks. So basically we paid for nothing. I would have asked for our drinks but my husband was so disgusted with the entire experience that we left empty handed.

This location was consistent with other chick fil a’s I’ve tried. Food was just as expected and service was good. Also, I love that there is a separate line in the drive through for mobile ordering.

I went to this Chick-fil-A and ate . The sandwich wasn’t even done . Didn’t complain. Went in there to ask for water on a separate occasion. They refused to offer me a cup of water and told me I had to make a purchase. I’ve been to numerous Chick-fil-A restaurants in various states not one has bet attempted to charge me for water . A simple request . I will not return this greedy racist location .
T M — Google review
Absolutely awful service. We found a BUG in our salad! I tried to call and get a refund, had a picture of the bug, and they only offered to refund the $2 salad and not the rest of the $40 order!!!! When I said I would tell other customers, they threatened to call the police. The hands down worst chick-fil-a experience I’ve ever had. It’s 100% worth the extra 5-10 minutes to head to the chikfila near mayfaire.

This was a part of my spicy chicken sandwich. I called & spoke to the manager and she said she would give me a free sandwich on on the app, took down my info and told me to wait a few days. She never uploaded it onto my account, I called back and spoke to a male manager he told me it would appear on the app next week. Spoke to 2 different managers and nothing has been resolved, it’s been 2 weeks.

Odd drive through experience. I order a croissant only and get to the window. Price was $5 plus tax but somehow my total included .50 cents more than on the sign. Okay, fine. But it got weird when the barista holds my change in the air and asks me if I wanted my change? Strange way to ask for a tip. The sandwich was hot and tasty but not appealing to the eye. Definitely a strange interaction. I should not be asked to tip while dangling my change. I would have tipped the $2 bills I had in my other hand if that didn’t happen. However, due to this odd interaction, I didn’t and will not be back. They didn’t even offer or give me napkins! All about that tip and the overcharge makes me wonder if the price o n the sign was in fact correct and I was overcharged for “tips”? Hmm.

Nice place, seating inside and out. Good coffee: I had two shots of espresso plus a little water. The flavor was strong, but not that overpowering brew my daughter makes. I did manage to spill it all over the counter....

This coffee is excellent. Non acidic, smooth, flavorful. Manager Boone said you can place an order by 10am on Wednesday and it will be ready the next day. And they roast the beans in town. What a gem!

Visited during the Riverfest and even with a line through the door they were still able to serve customers rather quickly. I got the 16 oz Green Wave smoothie and my Husband got the Campfire Latte and they were both tasty. The sugar/straw area was a little messy and we had to wait in line to ask for a straw but it was also during a busy period. Atmosphere is warm and cozy. 10/10 recommend.

This is a great cafe to sit and work on my website. Unfortunately, the internet is so slow that opening a single webpage takes forever and kind of ruins the experience. It's open from 7a-7p on most days, hardly anyone in here which is great but I'm also concerned that they might not be open for too long because it's not generating enough cash flow. I live in the neighborhood and I'd love to be a regular, but I'm hesitant because of the wifi. I hope y'all invest in a better network!

Diner
Waffle House is a popular American diner chain known for its all-day breakfast and signature waffles. Despite some mixed reviews, many customers praise the late-night cook for consistently preparing delicious meals, even during busy hours. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, with servers like Taleha receiving high praise for their bubbly and welcoming demeanor. Customers also appreciate the cleanliness of the restaurant and commend the establishment for efficiently handling busy periods while serving satisfying portions of tasty food.
We really needed this pick me up this morning. This crew was amazing and they make you feel like family. Our pup passed away and we came to the beach to get away from our Mccormick home. Our waitress Selina was the best we have ever had at a waffle house and we tipped her accordingly. In a time when good help is hard to find this team knocked it out of the park. All my reviews are honest. The only flaw was the mens bathroom needed some cleaning but to their defense we came in a busy time of day.
Brian K — Google review
This was the perfect place to stop for a bite to eat after a long flight. Thanks again for the great service!
Jeremy G — Google review
I don’t even know where to begin — my experience at this Waffle House was an absolute train wreck from the moment I walked in. First off, the food was so wildly undercooked I thought I was on a hidden camera show. My eggs came out looking like someone cracked them onto the plate and forgot the entire cooking part. The bacon? Limp, greasy, and colder than my server’s attitude. My waffle — the one thing they should be able to get right — was raw in the middle. I cut into it and it oozed like pancake batter. Disgusting doesn’t even begin to cover it. Now let’s talk about the service, which was somehow even more appalling than the food. Our waitress looked like we were ruining her day just by existing. She rolled her eyes when we asked for menus, sighed like it physically hurt to take our order, and then disappeared for what felt like half an hour while our drinks went empty and our questions went ignored. When I mentioned my food wasn’t cooked properly, she just shrugged and said, “Yeah, it happens.” Really? That’s the standard now? The vibe was chaotic, the staff seemed irritated that customers were even there, and I’m pretty sure the guy cooking was more focused on his phone than the grill. I left hungry, irritated, and concerned for anyone who eats there regularly. This Waffle House isn’t just bad — it’s a crime scene. If you value your time, money, or digestive system, stay away.
Hundo B — Google review
Exactly what you expect and desire from a Waffle House: greasy food, served quickly, by a friendly waitress. The coffee was hot and the restaurant was above average clean by Waffle House standards. Overall good experience and yummy breakfast.
Brad K — Google review
After our group waiting to be seated for 30 minutes (which is understandable when they’re busy) we were finally sat. Then it took another 25 minutes to get our order taken. By this time, the restaurant had emptied and people who sat down 10 minutes after us were getting their food or cashing out. Unsure if we were forgotten, I politely approached the woman at the cash register who had no customers in front of her, apologizing for bothering her and asking if someone could take our order when they have a minute. She began arguing with me, saying they were helping other people. We were confused because everyone around us had already ordered and received their food despite being sat after us. She proceeded to give us an attitude and the quiet treatment despite us being polite the entire time. We love Waffle House but definitely won’t be back to this location.

It's a waffle house. They have delicious food and good service for a great price. Their waffles are really good and so are their hash browns!
Cameron P — Google review
I usually have pretty good service so im not going to give terrible rating but today the cook grabbed my eggs out of my to go container (that I had already taken outside and opened the container while in car) with his gloved hand (like bawled my eggs from both plates up into his fist) and threw them back in the pan out of frustration to add cheese to them. Very unsanitary moment. I wouldn’t be able to eat from his cooking again. I told the waitress and she didn’t say a word to him. Just allowed it.
Aleasia J — Google review
It was very crowded when we visited and I felt the staff couldn’t handle it well. They were allowing people who were large in number and asked them to dine instead first come first. The place wasn’t that clean. They took almost 15 minutes to take the order. The coffee wasn’t hot at all and even the waffles weren’t that great. Cheese omelet was good though.

I am dissatisfied with the service I received at your Starbucks location on the corner of Independence and Oleander this morning. I placed an online order for two regular coffees and a breakfast sandwich, expecting it to be ready at the designated pickup time. Upon arriving, I noticed my two coffees were sitting on the pickup rack, but the breakfast sandwich was not there. I sat for 20 minutes waiting. After waiting and finally inquiring with the barista, she found it on the counter behind her (obviously not where it was supposed to be). It appeared to have been there the entire time, but no one placed it with the rest of my order. As a result, both coffees and the breakfast sandwich were cold by the time I left with my order. To make matters worse, the sandwich bread was hard, and it contained only half a piece of bacon. This level of service is disappointing.
Kristin — Google review
I ordered a coffee after 14 minutes they picked up a coffee from the counter and called my order. This means I stood awkwardly for that long stretch. The coffee bar did not call my name and left it for a pink haired girl to see it. If I am paying $13 for coffee I expect a little more consideration on a mostly empty place. Also the coffee I got was not even the correct size. I got a gr. Instead on the vente.
Bradley M — Google review
I had a really upsetting experience at this Starbucks. I ordered a frappuccino and found a cockroach inside my drink. As gross as that was, what shocked me even more was how indifferent the customer service was. I emailed them with photos, thinking they’d take it seriously, but all they said was that they couldn’t help me and if I wanted any support, I’d have to call. No real apology, no effort to make it right. I honestly expected better. This isn’t just about the bug, it’s about basic cleanliness and how a situation like this is handled. I hope it gets properly looked into.

This is my favorite Starbucks in the town I get a Venti nonfat, quad shot of mocha, brown Every early morning, I usually come around At the drive through stifling my yawning sounds The baristas are all chill, college kids I'm always given stoppers and tightened lids They even know my order when I pull, up close No clue they had a camera, when I picked my nose Not sure I got caught, because they don't throw shade Every.single.time. The coffee is of the highest grade Some Karens (and Darrens?) make complaints To get free stuff, victimhood narratives, they paint But I've been hitting these stores since I was nineteen This one is the most accurate, out of any I've seen I moved to this town for nostalgia, and growth And a familiar, kind place always helps the most When you relocate, and aren't established The coffee doesn't make it home, gets ravished They compliment my funny shirts when I go inside Even though I'm super shy, and want to hide They're truly kind and it breaks my heart When one or two customers tirade, and tear them apart It's not their fault they still have light in their eyes So please be sure to tip them, each one genuinely tries Earning a living in an economy, rough Even small gestures can help with the worst stuff I should know, therapist by trade And it's usually this store when my day is made That extra bump of caffeine, to face the day No matter how many clinical notes stand in my way My stomach growls, and gas pedal obeys With each team members attitude, I'm amazed I love seeing people proud of their work No matter how many customers try to be jerks Give them respect, they're human too There's no such thing as social status, that's an issue with YOU Remember kindness costs nothing at all They have vegan and veggie options, to munch with your jaw A nice spot outside, to study and read They're happy to add any extra you may decide you need Thank you Oleander Starbucks, you guys rock Live long and prosper, to quote Mr. Spock <3

I usually order from monkey Junction because it’s closer to where I live but today I was on that side of town so I decided to go to Oleander Starbucks. I got my usual order Trenta salted caramel cold brew with 12 pumps caramel syrup and extra foam (basically light and sweet) The only reason I am giving them two stars instead of one Is because they were busy and The woman at the front counter was nice. The woman asked me you don’t really want 12 pumps do you we usually just do half pumps so you’re talking about half pumps I said no 12 full pumps I like it really sweet I get my order and as I’m driving I realize that it is not sweet at all I mean even at 12/2 pumps which would be six pumps I would think it would be somewhat sweet I even tried to stir it around a little bit thinking maybe the syrup settled to the bottom and no it’s just not sweet at all. The extra foam was not there And it looked like somebody had already stirred it into my drink and I open the lid and the foam is super watery. And when I open the lid I realized there’s no ice even in the drink so it is lukewarm and taste like a regular iced coffee with a little bit of milk in it. About 30 minutes after getting the order I arrived home and realized that what was supposed to be the foam is curdled and chunky now. I have gotten many cold brews from many different Starbucks and this was terrible. I’ve paid over seven dollars for a coffee that I took Two sips from and threw away.

This Starbucks location was great interior and exterior design. The staff are nice and fast at completing the orders. Access is from the main road. The parking lot was hard to get to from the busy road, we tried accessing it from the mall parking lot and ended up parking by Panera and walking over. Good drinks and bagels as always.

This was the first time I visited this location.I was impressed by the outside seating area but the noise level from the passing traffic made it difficult to hold a conversation. I understand they can’t control traffic noise, and it doesn’t take away from the attraction. The inside was not busy, guess it was the time of day. The lack of business made me surprised by the lengthy wait to get our drinks. I think it’s classy and reassuring to have a mission statement and letter from the manager with contact info, in plain sight. If there was a problem, it would be clear to contact.

Okay. This breakfast was GREAT. I love a good small diner. This place has a relaxed atmosphere. The people working here are great, the food is delicious. It is a must have when you are in the mood for a good neighborhood diner. This place was so clean! I know an odd thing to say about a "greasy spoon" but it goes a long way when I wash my hands in a clean restroom before eating. Oh and the banana pudding tastes so close to what my granny made when I was growing up ❤️ I will be back soon.

I had the California Eggs Benedict. It came on an English muffin with avocado and tomato and some hollandaise sauce. A little tangy and probably not the best choice on the extensive menu. It came with a cup of grits and butter. Would definitely try omelets and bacon next time. And the sweets and ice cream next door looked great.

Now me and my family frequent this place often but today I bit into an uncooked burger! At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but nope meat not even done! I got an iced coffee that was fairly standard, but met expectations. I also bought a bag of their light roast coffee, and they were kind enough to grind it for me. Overall, it was a short and enjoyable trip!

I had my first black and tan coffee which was delicious. Also had an egg and cheese croissant.

I absolutely love this location! These girls are on point, always! They are kind and personable. Our daughter loves to go inside and see everyone. The coffee is always the way we expect and there's always a great vibe from the employees! The employees at this location are the reason me and so many other friends and family have become regular loyal pcj'ers! Thank you gals for always starting our mornings off right!

We are visiting Carolina Beach this winter. This was our first time patronizing this coffee shop. The service we received from both Molly & Rita was outstanding. They were both so friendly and helpful ... even sharing suggestions for places to go in the area. It's unusual anywhere to meet such warm-hearted, kind and funny service folks. We truly appreciated their customer service that went above and beyond. The coffee was very good but it was the two of them that created such a phenomenal impression!

Every time I go, every single time, when I pull up, it’s “what do you want” and never good morning or hello how are you today. I guess the service industry isn’t what it used to to be
