Seafood restaurant
Cape Fear Seafood Company offers a polished and simple setting where you can enjoy regional seafood, steaks, chicken, as well as beer, wine, and spirits. The restaurant is known for its superb menu featuring North Carolina caught seafood and first-rate service in a warm and intimate ambiance.
The food was excellent, but our server Kathy truly elevated our experience. She was attentive, personable, and genuinely thoughtful. She took great care of us throughout the meal and even went above and beyond by making me some honey butter for my hush puppies. Her exceptional service made our visit memorable! We ordered the Calabash shrimp, flounder, and fries, as well as the shrimp scampi. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and generously portioned—comforting, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Kathy’s exceptional service and the quality of the food made this a meal to remember. We’ll definitely be back!

All of these stars are low 5's. Each individual aspect was good enough to call good, but nothing single-handedly deserved a "Wow!" besides dessert and scallops. That being said, altogether the restaurant would be a 5/5. I believe overall, I could recommend this restaurant, but not highly or to everyone.

Overall a good experience here. The swordfish I had was very good as well as the appetizer we shared. The hostess area was pretty chaotic as we had a reservation for 5:15 and came in and told them we were here. We were asked to wait a minute and said that fine. The party directly behind us came up and said they also had a reservation at 5:15 and were seated promptly. Thought that was odd. We were seated a few minutes later at a small wobbly table when plenty of booths were available. Definitely a weird interaction that brought down the environment of the place especially for the price we paid. 3.5 stars I would say.

I recently dined at Cape Fear Seafood Company in Wilmington, and it was an absolute standout meal—hands down one of the best seafood experiences I've had in the area! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, with that perfect coastal vibe that makes you feel right at home. The service was top-notch; our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made great recommendations without being overbearing. They truly elevated the whole experience. Now, onto the food, wow! We started with the Shrimp and Grits, and let me tell you, it was awesome. Creamy, flavorful grits loaded with perfectly seasoned shrimp in a rich, savory sauce,it's no wonder this spot was recognized by Our State Magazine as one of North Carolina's must-try for this classic dish. Every bite was pure comfort with a gourmet twist. I also had the Mahi-Mahi special, which was really good: fresh, flaky, and grilled to perfection with a light herb seasoning that let the fish shine. Paired with some simple sides, it was fresh, balanced, and just what I needed after a day exploring the Cape Fear coast. Overall, the portions were generous, the prices were fair for the quality and everything felt fresh and locally sourced, which is exactly what you want from a spot like this. If you're in Wilmington and craving seafood done right, Cape Fear Seafood Company is a must-visit. I'll definitely be back, highly recommend!

We kept hearing about this seafood place , good and not so, so we dropped in to try it out. It's a cute and cozy restaurant on the smaller side so I can see why reservations are recommended. But, it's not so great that we'd wait longer than 10 minutes for a table. The sweet tea is good and I would suggest not too much ice. The oysters (which are in season now) were average however the Shrimp Diablo dish was very good with just the right heat. They give you a few hushpuppies on your plate instead of bringing a basket ahead unless you buy a basket (listed under the appetizer selection). Overall, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.

Tried Cape Fear Seafood Company after reading great reviews yesterday.. food was absolutely delicious and lived up to the hype. However, our experience was dampened by an elderly server whose cold and unwelcoming attitude gave off negative vibes. Great food, but the service left something to be desired.
Parag M — Google review
The service was good and the mahi mahi was very good. The creme burle was very good too. What i did not like was that the menu was sticky and old and looks neglected. This was at location closed to 421 on junction. A little price for location look, tjey may need to update a little bit. Restrooms were clean. Thanks

Highly recommend for good seafood flavors! I got the shrimp scampi and my husband got the swordfish. My son got the fried fish sticks and fried. Server was great as well.

Oyster bar restaurant
Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant & Oyster Bar is a beloved establishment that has been serving up freshly caught seafood and locally sourced ingredients since 1980. With a casual setting and a menu featuring classic surf n turf options like the Fried Captains Platter and Shrimp & Grits, Hieronymus has become a popular local institution known for its reasonable prices and impeccable service.
Hieronymus Seafood is a must-visit if you’re in Wilmington and love fresh, local seafood. The atmosphere is laid-back and welcoming, with that classic coastal charm that instantly puts you in a good mood. The service was excellent—friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the menu. Our server made great recommendations and made sure everything came out just right. The seafood was incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The oysters were a standout—plump, briny, and delicious. We also tried the shrimp and grits and the crab cakes, and both were absolutely packed with flavor. You can tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients. They also have a nice outdoor seating area, which is perfect when the weather’s nice. All in all, a fantastic dining experience. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

The Cajun Pasta and she crab soup was so good! 🤤 Fresh catch was made to order, was also good, just needed more salt. The grits with lobster cream sauce were just ok…The cheddar biscuits unfortunately were not fresh and were not good. Service was good, no complaints! Oh and the oysters with crab dip were amazing. I would return again…this was our 3rd time.

Somehow this place is both very laid back and also high class at the same time. The server and hostess were both friendly and welcoming, and our server was helpful with assisting me in picking out a fish to try. I've never had seafood before, and she recommended the Golden Tile, which was really yummy. It had a very mild flavor, but the preparation was delicious. My husband got the shrimp and flounder, and he said it was amazing. Their fries were perfect, the salad was fresh and crisp, and the biscuits they served us before our meal were splendid! I also overheard another server telling some other guests that the seashells in the tables are caught by them, and that they switch them out a few times a year. It was really cool!

After a very busy week my wife and I went back to a favorite classic seafood restaurant, Hieronymus, for a celebration dinner before we stayed for the first time in our new abode! We started with drinks and garlic rolls and oysters followed Caesar salads and balanced with Golden Tile Fish for both with my wife having Herbed Grilled Golden Tile fish and mashed potatoes while I had the Golden Tile fish Carolina style with collard greens! The food was as usual excellent and our server, Jessica, made our evening even more enjoyable while she was making sure we had the best service on this special night!

Decided to make the drive to visit. And we were not disappointed. The appetizers were spot on. We ordered the Oysteronymus (spelling) and She Crab Soup. Both excellent. For our meal we went with the platters. The oysters, shrimp and scallops were cooked very well but the star of the day was the flounder. It was so fluffy and delicate I was sad to see it gone. However I was not so impressed with the grits and lobster sauce. It was a little dry. But the food more than made up for the grits. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. She did an awesome job caring for us. Bottom line, if you're in town go there because you will not be disappointed.

5 ⭐️ - Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant: Bringing the Fresh Flavors Since '72! If you're looking for a genuine Wilmington seafood staple, you have to stop at Hieronymus Seafood Restaurant. This place has been "bringing the fresh flavors" for decades—since 1972, and it still "rocks”. the house" when it comes to taste. We dropped by for a late lunch and were so thoroughly impressed that we canceled our planned dinner reservations elsewhere just to order takeout from here again. LUNCH: Flavor Overload in the Best Way The crowd was light, the kitchen was clearly on its A-game. Every single thing we ordered was top-notch. We started with the Garlic Cheddar Biscuits, which were buttery, soft, and perfect, but they reached legendary status once we dipped them into the Lobster Cream Grits. This grits dish is the star of the show: a one-of-a-kind, knock-out flavor bomb LOBSTER CREAM that is simply WOW! Seriously, it's rich, savory, and an absolute must-try. The Grilled Seafood Platter (Blackened Shrimp & Scallops) was amazingly tender, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to absolute perfection. It's the kind of subtle flavor that proves they use high-quality, fresh ingredients. Paired with the Sea Crab Soup, the whole meal was a seafood flavor overload that was simply GREAAAAAT. DINNER: The Captain's Platter Wins For dinner, we decided on the Captain’s Seafood Platter, featuring flounder, shrimp, oysters, scallops, clam strips, Brussels sprouts, and, thankfully, more grits with that creamy lobster sauce. Normally, a large fried platter isn't my first choice, but the light, crispy batter and spot-on seasoning left no choice but to dig in. The variety was excellent, with every component tasting perfectly cooked and distinct. Even the Brussels sprouts were perfectly done, providing a nice counterpoint to the rich seafood. From the first buttery biscuit to the last scallop, the quality of both meals was phenomenal. Hieronymus isn't just a community staple; it's a culinary destination. When I'm in Wilmington, NC, this will be my absolute go-to, and I strongly recommend you make it yours too! Creating Exposure…Through Food mP….

I don’t usually write reviews, however I’m compelled to do one now. This was an accidental find. A very happy accident!! 5pm on Fathers Day and the restaurant was just starting to get busy. The hostess’ looked to be having a good time as I came in and sat in the bar area. Starting off with the She Crab soup. Well worth the praise given. Thick, flavorful soup with plenty of crab meat floating around. Cheddar biscuits were perfect to sop up any of the soup leftover. It would have been rude to lick the bowl clean. Followed up by 6 raw oysters. So local I heard Darryl (hope I spelled it correctly) tell Amber (great server to all her tables) that they would be switching local varieties soon and what they would be switched to. Wonderfully shucked that the went down easily. Beautifully and simply presented, it’s become my Home Screen for my tablet. The grilled combination (all 3) ended my dinner and man, it was wonderful! Scallops beautifully prepared with a touch of crunch from the sear, firm but very properly cooked flesh. I’d have eaten just a dozen of those. But the flounder….ive never had it this good! Firm to the fork, but fall apart perfection in your mouth. The margaritas were well done too, mixed well without being boozy. The staff was great to watch working well as it got busier over the next two hours. It was a fantastic way to end my trip here, thank you to the entire staff.

This place is an absolute must-visit for seafood in Wilmington. My wife and I try to visit every time we are in town. The food is wonderful with big portions. The fried platters can easily serve 3 and are delicious. The different service areas have different vibes depending on your preferred experience from semi formal to casual bar. Highly recommend!

Southern restaurant (US)
The Pilot House is a historic restaurant located in a restored 19th-century house at Chandlers Wharf in downtown Wilmington. Established by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wright Jr. in 1978, it has become a top dining destination known for its Southern regional cuisine. The restaurant offers riverside terrace seating with views of the Cape Fear River and is committed to using fresh local ingredients, including seafood and sustainable produce.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we were impressed. The hostesses were warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating. We had our little Yorkie with us, and they were more than gracious—walking us out to a lovely porch area with beautiful river views. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. We started with the crab dip, which was absolutely luscious—creamy, flavorful, and something I would happily order again and again. For our entrée, we chose the shrimp and grits. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the dish had great flavor without being overly spicy, and it was incredibly satisfying. To top it off, the Azalea Bloom cocktails were both gorgeous and refreshing—the perfect finish to a great dining experience. Highly recommend this spot, especially if you’re looking for a pet-friendly place with great food and views!

The Pilot House has a beautiful setting with a great atmosphere, and the place itself feels really nice. The food was decent—nothing that really stood out, but it was fine. Unfortunately, the service was a big letdown. It took more than an hour to get our food, and the staff didn’t seem very attentive during the wait. In addition it was too expensive for what it offers. With such a great location, I expected a better experience overall.

My friend and I went between lunch and dinner, as we just blew into town. (She had been there years and years earlier.) We had the best server ever! Aaron! My friend is rather picky and Aaron was very accommodating and kind while being so accommodating 💙. She got a steak of some sort... and loved it I got a blackened grouper with a mango chutney, the side...sweet potato succotash that was out of this world yummy!

Tonight we went out to celebrate our first home visit by a potential buyer. Don’t ask no word back yet but we had a great dinner! We went to Pilot House on the river. We have not been there for months. We started off with a bottle of Prosecco and creamy crab dip! My wife ordered Blackened Redfish and I had the Chicken Paillard . Both were delicious and made a great way to look forward to a new adventure! Not only is the food superb the service we received was equally top notch! Our Server Aly D was professional, friendly and made sure our evening was great success. This is why after the summer visitors go home we have a great food community and many months of enjoyment!

I love coming here every time I visit Wilmington. The food has always been tasty, the view of the river is lovely, the staff are friendly, and this time we even got to see "Fred", the 3.5 foot alligator. Special shout-out to Matthew for taking great care of us!

Their slogan "Seafood With Local Flair"... Please just give up the "flair" and serve good food. Trying to make dishes fancy doesn't make them better. Close to 10/10 for atmosphere, inside was cute and looked freshly painted, we sat outside on the patio with the view of the river. We were the only ones out there while other restaurants in view seemed much much busier. One couple sat down and walked away after seing the menu, and honestly, that's what we should've done too. But, I was trying to be optimistic and try something new. The menu was extremely small and didnt have much that looked appetizing. We ordered 2 bloody Mary's that came in small, fancier looking glasses. They were alright, but, we did feel a little "gypped". For an appetizer we got the crab dip, which was decent, but didn't offer enough bread to actually use all of the dip despite the $17 item. My partner ordered the seafood platter which wasn't anything spectacular to talk about, just a platter of fried items. I ordered the shrimp and grits out of one of the waitresses recommendations, and it was definitely not great, I felt a little sick after eating. The menu really doesnt describe this dish accurately and does not portray an "NC" style shrimp and grits dish. This tasted and looked much more like a jambalaya, creole, Louisiana cuisine of some sort. There were very large pieces of im assuming mushrooms which caught my eye first, which was fine, but I dont like to not understand what I'm eating and again, the dish really was not explained correctly or thoroughly on the menu at all. Again, we don't have to try to make things fancy to make them good. The grits were pretty cheesy, did not get the "green chile" at all. The shrimp seemed a little under done to me. Lastly, but not least important, it was a big greasy mess and could have been why I felt sick. I ate was I could because I was hungry and didn't want to feel like I was being a downer to my partner, but you can especially see in the takeout box all of the grease that had separated. It was just not very good. Service was okay, nothing great. $88 before tip, 2 entrees, 1 app and two drinks, not terrible, but definitely won't be returning. The food is just not good.

Outstanding Experience Every Time! My wife and I have dined at The Pilot House multiple times for both lunch and dinner, and every visit has been a great experience. This time, we came in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the updated menu — more refined, upscale, and thoughtfully curated. While the selection is a bit smaller, the quality more than makes up for it. We ordered the Cast Iron Teres Major Steak and Blackened Redfish, and both dishes were absolutely delicious — arguably the best we’ve had here yet. The preparation and presentation were elevated, showcasing a clear step up in the kitchen. On top of the fantastic food, the riverfront view, especially at sunset, is simply stunning. The Pilot House continues to be one of our favorite spots in Wilmington — highly recommended!

Fish House Grill is a coastal seafood restaurant located on Wrightsville Beach's infamous Airlie Road, with an unbeatable view of the Intracoastal Waterway. They serve up some of North Carolina's best seafood in a lively atmosphere with an outdoor deck.
First time at wrightville beach and looked up a place nearby. Nestled at the base of the Wrightsville Beach drawbridge, Fish House Grill boasts a prime waterfront location with outdoor seating perfect for boat-spotting and ocean breezes. Food was excellent. Highly recommend

Delicious blackened tuna tacos and a fried flounder basket.Reasonably priced too. The tuna tacos were cooked perfectly, flavorful big chunks of tuna. Definitely add guacamole! I didn’t try the flounder but the fries were really good. Cold beer and a beautiful waterfront marina view. Our server was excellent. She greeted us, knew the menu well, brought drinks, and food quickly. We had a great time and really enjoyed it. I’ve been twice before and I’ll definitely go again!

The food was fantastic. Stopped in around 4pm on the way back from the beach and sat outside. We wound up in the sun and that was the only negative. The food was fantastic. My daughter had the blackened Mahi mahi. I had the blackened tacos. Easy parking. Super fast service. Great views. Did I mention fantastic food?!

Delicious food with a good marinara view and vibes. It's got the view, it's got the vibes, it's got the food. What more can you ask for? If you are looking for a chill, (not too expensive) meal on the water, this is it! Everything is served in plastic baskets and the mojito was pretty weak - that's the only reason it gets a 4 Star. Everything else was exactly what we were looking for after a long day sitting on the beach in the sun.

Fish House Grill is a casual spot that delivers both flavor and portion size, perfect for sharing a meal with family or friends. Food: • The nachos were a standout starter—loaded with pulled chicken, black beans, jalapeños, melted cheese, pico de gallo, and served with fresh guacamole and salsa. Every bite was flavorful and hearty. • The pineapple bacon cheddar burger struck a perfect balance of sweet and savory, and pairing it with steamed broccoli was a nice, fresh touch. • The tacos were generously filled, whether chicken, pork, or beef, topped with fresh onions, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. Each came with a side of blue corn chips and dipping sauces, making them both filling and customizable. Presentation & Portions: Dishes came out well-portioned in classic red trays lined with paper, giving it a fun, laid-back vibe. The portions are large, so come hungry or be ready to share. Atmosphere: The outdoor seating had a lively, relaxed feel—great for groups and casual dining. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy good food without pretense. Overall: Fish House Grill nails casual dining with bold flavors, generous servings, and a menu that balances comfort classics with a fresh twist. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a satisfying, relaxed meal.

What a delicious way to end a day at the beach! Beat the dinner crowd for a few light bites to soak up the sun on the patio instead of sitting in traffic. Seafood nachos were a tasty meal and the pina colada was perfection.

Jack, young man, provided excellent service for our group of 10 people. Jasmine discussed seating with me along with another young lady at the hostess desk. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. The food and service were amazing. Plenty of parking available. Highly recommend! Most in my family did not like the lemon pepper french fries.

Shuckin' Shack Oyster Bar is a family-friendly spot known for its steamed and raw shellfish, wings, and beers in a laid-back setting. While it's famous for oysters and cold beer, the restaurant also offers unique crab specialties like chilled lump crabmeat dip served with garlic bread. The menu features crunchy fried crab cakes, juicy crab legs, and the signature shareable Crab Balls. Additionally, some locations have their own specials such as happy hour appetizer deals.
What an awesome meal at Shuckin Shack tonite. The Charbroiled Oysters were cooked to perfection with melted cheese covering the shell. The raw oysters were fresh, chilled, and came with plenty of cocktail sauce, horseradish and a lemon slice. Add a Tropical Lightening and you’ve got a great start to the evening!

We had a fantastic experience! The raw oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, and the Mahi tacos were absolutely mouthwatering. Loves my first visit to this place. The service was impeccable. I arrived one late afternoon with pasta and seafood on my tastebuds. Was happy to find this place catered to both. It was a warm and humid day but I sat outside anyway and enjoyed watching the passerby’s. The waitress was EXCELLENT! She even confirmed I wanted water with my drink order which has been a rarity in my experience with ilm restaurants. I had the Ceviche appetizer. The pineapples were very fresh and sweet but the overall taste lacked seasoning/flavor. I visit the islands often and have this so I admit to. Ring a bit of a Ceviche snob as I’m used to that fishy taste melded with the cilantro and seasonings. I finished it without a drop left so not too bad just disappointed. My main entree was Blackened Shrimp Alfredo. Again everything tasted fresh but the flavor was lacking. I had left overs the next day and it seems there was more seasoning. Good, but not the greatest. I included the Key Lime Pie for dessert. My biggest complaint here is that the portion was not big enough. It was great! I will definitely visit again and try more of the seafood on the menu.

We bought some big, beautiful head-on shrimp, blue crabs, and some fry mix. Prices were great. Sue, the owner is amazing! So helpful and sweet! She fixed us some soft shell crabs, which we'd never had before and they were fantastic! A new favorite for us. We gave her multiple hugs and had to get a picture with her! 100% recommend this place, Sue and her "fishmonger supreme", Daryl!

One of our favorite spots for fresh seafood! Saul T’s Steampot is always our “go to”. Plenty of crab legs, oysters, clams and shrimp. We tried the Gumbo last night. OMG! It was amazing! I’m going back for this real soon! Wonderful staff. Clair is awesome! Check out their daily specials.

Came in on a Friday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. We were seated immediately. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was delicious! We had ordered the lobster roll with coleslaw and hushpuppies, and the clam strips with sausage and potatoes. They have some good daily deals. Definitely should give it a try.

We brought a group of 25 guests in on short notice and the ladies at the Shuckin Shack made it happen! These may have been the best Oysters I’ve ever had. Not only that, but the service was top notch. The manager Jill accommodated us and continuously checked on us throughout the night. Servers Makena and Lexi were the best! We never had to wait for drinks and we felt so welcomed. Thanks for a an amazing night out! I can’t recommend this place enough- A must when in Wilmington, NC We’ll be back! Tim

Bluewater Waterfront Grill is a lively venue located on the Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach. It offers a great atmosphere with a large patio and live music, making it an ideal spot to enjoy seafood and steaks while taking in the beautiful waterfront views. The restaurant hosts a summer music series every Sunday evening from April through September, featuring talented local musicians.
We ended up going back for brunch after eating dinner here the night before - it was that good and they had a table immediately available unlike the cafe next door during brunch. The service and food are amazing. The ambiance of actually being on the water - perfect. Matt our waiter was excellent and kept the drinks topped off and was always at our table when needed and not there when not needed. This has become our go to place when visiting Wrightsville Beach. Pro tip: try the shrimp and grits - they will not disappoint.

I came here for a lunch and we were so happy with our experience! We sat outside and it was so enjoyable. The food and drinks were delicious! Definitely will be back. I was surprised that the lobster roll was cold but to my own shocking I loved it!

Amazing gem of a restaurant! Overlooking the water, the food is extremely well made, the service impeccable. We ended up coming here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch and the wait was maybe 10 minutes on Labor Day weekend. Both servers were attentive to our needs and very polite. The recommendations they gave us for food were on point, but we really think every dish was thought out and delicious. If you’re looking for seafood dishes that are fresh and well made this is the place to go to!

We had a lovely dinner, sat outside and our server was very attentive. We tried the crab dip, oysters, lobster roll, and scallops. Everything was delicious! We also loved the complimentary corn bread. I tried the spicy pineapple margarita (i love spicy food), it is definitely spicy.

Got there early 4:30, on a July 4 week weeknight, sat outside by the marina. Nice view and atmosphere. Ashley was attentive and on top of the order, even after the tables started filling up. The smoked fish dip was very good, but a standard recipe. The clam chowder has some interesting seasoning I couldn’t place, and a very good clam to potato ratio. The seared ginger tuna was excellent, as was the Mediterranean mahi. A few other items looked temping, but we were out for seafood. Would definitely go back.

We had a fantastic experience at Bluewater Waterfront Grill! Sitting outside was an absolute treat, with a stunning view of the water and boats gliding by—perfect for a relaxing day out. The staff was exceptional, especially our server, who was in training. He did an outstanding job, and we are rooting for his success at the restaurant. The lunch was delicious, with great food and drinks that made the meal truly enjoyable. This is a wonderful spot to savor a meal, sip on drinks, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Food and atmosphere were great! We ordered an appetizer but it was brought out to us late. It came with the rest of the food. Other than that, the food was delicious! Service was very nice too.

There isn't a whole lot on the menu I'd eat but I got the salmon grains bowl and it was pretty good. My partner got the fried fish plate and she liked it! I went there for the scenery, though, not so much the food. It was super cute and I enjoyed watching the sunset as we ate!

Latin American restaurant
Ceviches is a popular Panamanian restaurant in Wilmington, known for its Latin-inspired cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant originally started as a small cafe but quickly expanded due to its warm reception. The menu features traditional Latin American dishes like ropa vieja and arroz con pollo, alongside innovative offerings such as langoustine cakes and mojo-rubbed ribs. However, the highlight remains the selection of citrus-cured raw fish, particularly the irresistible ceviche.
Absolutely blown away with the quality, freshness, presentation and service. We were recommended this place by a fishing guide, and the recommendation did not disappoint. The ceviches were excellent. The guacamole is incredible. The watermelon salad is one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. All around, this is the best dinner I’ve ever had the WB area.

Ceviche’s in Wilmington was a great stop for lunch en route to Kure Beach. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the place wasn’t busy. For food, we got: Caribbean Fried Oysters: The cornmeal oysters were delectable and went well with the aioli that came with it. Mango Guacamole: Chips and flavorful guacamole with bits of mango in it made for a wonderful snack too. The chili powder on top elevated the flavor too! They were kind enough to restock our chips. Blackened Mahi Mahi Tacos: The Mahi-mahi fish was cooked perfectly and the slaw, guacamole and lime crema were added in just the right proportion. It made for an excellent and delicious entree. The accompanying coconut rice tasted fresh. Langoustine Roll: Imagine a soft hotdog filled with langoustine ceviche, fresh arugula and pickled jalapeño—it tasted delicious and was another great entree. The drinks—Fresca ensalada and the Tropical Lightning IPA—provided just the right kick accompanying the meal. We sat on the back patio—which was a bit uncomfortable with the sunlight directly streaming down the glass panes. We realised later that we should’ve sat inside instead. Their other menu items looked interesting and piquant too, ranging from empanadas to soups, salads, and tacos. The Panamanian vibe is in the air too, which is what they rightly advertise themselves as. Restrooms were clean, and parking was available outside. Our server was kind enough to check on us multiple times. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Ceviche’s, and highly recommend it!

Ceviche’s Restaurant was an amazing dining experience! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, every dish we tried was delicious. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. It’s clear they take pride in both their food and service. Highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting Wrightsville Beach. Definitely one of the best meals we had during our trip!
Ibraheem K — Google review
Great experience overall, will definitely be back. This was our first time here and every dish was great. From the cocktails to the ceviche and the main dishes, it was a great authentic experience. We have family from Costa Rica and this Panamanian fair had some parallels as expected. Will post more photos next time :)

This place was all around phenomenal. Service was great, food was even better. One of our new favorite restaurants ever. Empanadas are insanely good, ceviches are also delicious and the blackened scallops were butter. Good cocktails too. Really nothing to knock here. Great work people we will surely return!

Great little place with unique food and atmosphere. Had jerk shrimp, and beignets. My wife had scallops and pork belly and flan. It was all very tasty, perfectly cooked and well presented
Josh P — Google review
Our experience was good our entrées stole the show they were the best. I believe our appetizers could have been better. Food was fresh flavor was lacking. Out of all the ceviche, I believe the mango was the best one and the picture it’s the one to the far left. The one in the middle to the right was my second favorite then the one beside the mango to the left is my third, and I did not care for the one to the far right it was watery no flavor for me. The empanadas were OK. I probably should’ve tried a different one other than chicken. What made the empanadas good was the sauce to me I like it when a sauce elevates a meal and takes it to the next level. Luckily, the sauce made it good because it was average in my opinion. Now the fried brussels sprouts they will vinegar strong. However, once you take that cashew sauce and mix it well throughout the food, it was actually a perfect pair. I believe they balanced each other out and I actually enjoyed it. We should have ordered an entrée for an appetizer because I thought my dish was good the jerk skewers, the spice and savoriness from the shrimp was amazing and when you pair it with that sweet, savory curry as you can see in the pictures, I couldn’t wait to take a bite. The aroma was calling my name my. Now my date she had seabass and she let me have a bite. I almost told the waiter to bring me another plate of that if you’re looking for a dish to wow you get the Seabass. Sangria was great. I forgot to take a picture of my second drink you can’t go wrong with their cocktails. I will try this place again.
Brandon W — Google review
Jess was very attentive, welcoming and made a delicious meal an even more enjoyable experience. I asked her to make a spicy margarita with mezcal and it might have been the best I've had. Not to detract from their food though, this is one of the best menus in town. Ceviche's is great!

Our server Emma was great! Kept a check on us and was quick to get anything needed. Food was great, more food than I could actually eat. Atmosphere is good, very chill, no over the top extravagance anywhere. Food is definitely the main attraction. Don't think many people know about this place. It wasn't packed, but was full of folks familiar with the staff. Nice dinner, will be back.

Our waiter, Taylor, was very attentive. He was friendly, personable, and always kept our drinks filled. The food was good. Crab cakes were incredible. The Caribbean chicken was amazing. The sauce was very flavorful. My only complaint was the wild rice. The chicken would be much better with white rice so you could use the sauce from the chicken on the rice. The wild rice was bland and didn’t pair well with the entree choices. The steak and flounder were both good. The fried seafood was not greasy and it was tasty.

Our server Brandy was absolutely perfect! She was super nice and friendly! Food was amazing and greatly priced. Chicken alfredo was so good and the chicken was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Seafood was also very good, cooked perfect. We are from out of town so this was a very nice spot to eat at and we will definitely be making a trip back!

I would like to say we have always went for lunch and the food was hot and delicious. We decided to go recently for breakfast since they didn't look too busy with only a few customers inside. The food was was ok but was not even warm, like it had sat there a while waiting to be picked up from the kitchen or the cook fixed one plate at a time. The waitress was nice but a bit forgetful. The atmosphere was nice as always with a nautical theme.

Oceanic is a high-end seafood restaurant located on the historic Crystal Pier, offering outdoor dining with stunning views of the crystal clear Atlantic Ocean. Guests can enjoy live music at the pier during the summer music series or visit nearby venues for more entertainment.
We have had several recent visits after a couple of years of not doing so. Each time it has been enjoyable, the atmosphere has been beautiful and our servers have been excellent. Sophia took amazing care of us on this last visit must be mentioned! She had many other tables she was working with and you would have never known as she was so attentive, kind, and made us feel so welcome. She even made sure our seating was exactly as we wished after first being placed in an area that we felt was too cramped. We had another wonderful meal and enjoyed everything so much. I would vote to bring back the pimento cheese dip! That was a favorite and very different. Thanks for a great night in beautiful Wrightsville Beach and in particular our server for her sincerity and kindness.

The view alone is worth the visit, but what truly made our lunch special was the amazing food and the exceptional service. The menu is diverse with something for everyone. We had calamari, tuna poke nachos, grouper and steak. Everything was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. Our server Alyssa, made the experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She offered great recommendations and made us feel genuinely welcome from start to finish. We'll definitely be returning!

Impressive! Delicious! And the view! 2 coworkers and I went to celebrate her birthday. Shrimp scampi with grits instead of linguine was my dinner. SOOOO good. We tried crab dip, shrimp tacos and more shrimp with pancetta over grits. Surprised by a flour less chocolate cake with strawberries and whipped cream while acoustic live music on the pier (we were soaking wet from gathering shells under the pier). I had Pinot grigio and my friends frozen Mai Tai. Stuffed to the gills. This is no tourist trap; it's the real deal. Enjoyed by 3 Carolinians who know great seafood! Worthwhile and cannot wait for another visit! If you are thinking, stop and just go. You won't regret it. The ocean waves and sunset was incredible 💓🌊🍤😻

I visit from Georgia every year and always enjoy trying new restaurants. The atmosphere here is wonderful, but unfortunately, the service, food quality, and especially portion sizes don’t match the price, it really feels like you’re paying mainly for the view. My wife’s meal arrived in about 10 minutes, but mine took nearly 25, which made the experience a bit awkward for us as a couple. It seems they may have forgotten my order. Overall, it’s worth visiting once for the view, but I wouldn’t rush back.
Hamid N — Google review
An absolutely lovely experience! Strongly recommend if you want to eat quality food by the water. Ate outside directly on the pier and live music on Sunday afternoon. The food was some of the best I've had of all the waterfront restaurants in the surrounding area. You have to get the fried Calamari with the cherry peppers but the wasn't a single thing our group didn't enjoy.
Gabi L — Google review
The location and atmosphere of this seaside restaurant are fantastic – perfect for enjoying the view and relaxing by the shore. The food itself was just okay, nothing special but decent enough. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. The wait staff was very slow to respond, and I actually received my soda after I had already finished my meal. With such a great setting, this place has potential, but they really need to improve their service to match the environment.
Mohcen S — Google review
Beautiful setting and views, with a great array of menu options. Service was a bit slow even though it was a seemingly not-so-busy Tuesday night. Would definitely recommend. Will return, the grouper was delightful. Steaks came with larger side portion sizes.
Benton F — Google review
Just took my wife here for a birthday lunch. We really enjoyed the view from the pier. It was so nice to eat outside. Even though the restaurant was packed during lunch rush, we still didn’t even have to wait. It was easy to get a seat for four.. We ordered the sweet Thai chili shrimp as an appetizer. It was pretty good a little heavy on the sauce. Nothing wrong with it. I probably just wouldn’t order it again. I would try something else. Wife wanted an adult beverage for her birthday. She got the endless summer blackberry lemonade. She loved it ended up having another one lol Also wanna know that we only went to this restaurant because my wife watches some show called “the summer, I turned pretty.” I have no idea what it’s about but it’s the only reason we went here in the first place. I got the special grouper, which is fantastic. She got the mahi special what she loved my daughter order chicken tenders and fries. I was surprised to see that they were real chicken tenders and not frozen ones like all the other restaurants in the area. My son got the popcorn shrimp. Overall view was fantastic. Food was fantastic. Service was fantastic. I would definitely come back for a dinner date or a special occasion five out of five.

Elijah's Oyster & Fish Camp is a renowned seafood restaurant located on the Cape Fear River in historic downtown Wilmington. Established in 1984, it occupies a former maritime museum and offers both indoor and outdoor seating with stunning sunset views. The restaurant boasts a relaxed atmosphere, maritime decor, and delectable American fare. It has garnered acclaim for its waterfront location, making it a favorite dining spot for locals and visitors alike.
I was craving oysters, something simple, and Brandon suggested classic Oysters Rockefeller. Each oyster was buttery and briny, nothing too crazy, and the spinach gave it a nice rich texture. It was a great snack to match the view of the thunderstorm on the water. I loved the plate. One suggestion: make the plate look a little more interesting (even if that means presenting them on ice or something… it just needs something visually).

We love Elijah's and have been coming here for many, many years. It's a must when we are in downtown Wilmington. Their boil pots are really good. Today, we opted for riverside seating and a light lunch of Oysters a la Bienville and Carolina Firecracker oysters. Both were delicious. The Cape Fear Cooler was a great cocktail to beat the heat. Service at Elijah's is always great. Check them out!

Sat on the deck. It was a rainy windy evening, but the clear panels kept things warm and dry. Food was outstanding. Had the roasted miso oysters, and oyster sandwich. Their version of an aperol Spritz to drink. Everything was very good! Service was attentive and friendly. Evening view of the river, even in the foul weather, was beautiful. This will be a new favorite in Wilmington!

Really great food and awesome to dine on the river. We spent around $100 with the Carolina boil, an appetizer, and kids meals. Cheaper options are under $20. Loved the nachos. My 7 yo liked them too. Seafood boil takes a long time, so get drinks and an app to tide over the wait. I wouldn't get it if you're really hungry and need something fast. But it comes with plenty of food and spiced really well. Best part of the boil was the sausage.

Yes ma'am. First of all, a beautiful night to be on the riverfront. The atmosphere outside on the riverwalk was super chill. My server Nicole was so nice. Big smile from the start and the perfect amount of attention. I didn't have to wait at all. Margarita on the table in minutes! The flounder/oyster combo was spot on "fish camp" perfect. Local fat belly oysters, flounder, both with a light crispy breading. Cooked perfectly. Nothing was greasy, not even the fries! Will definitely be back.

The George on the Riverwalk is an upscale dining destination offering coastal seafood and American cuisine, with the added convenience of boat docking. Nestled in downtown Wilmington, this restaurant provides a picturesque view of the Cape Fear River and the Battleship North Carolina. The historic building exudes charm, while the attentive staff ensures a delightful dining experience. Guests can savor dishes like their unique oysters Rockefeller with chorizo and garlic aioli, all while enjoying southern hospitality and scenic river views.
This was our first time dining at River 128 Restaurant. We chose an outdoor table. Great views of the river. We had a Garlic Shrimp appetizer, Blackened Catfish, and Australian Rack of Lamb with a side of Truffle Mac N Cheese. Food was excellent, our server Ivori was attentive. They were out of Oysters and Duck, so we'll be back to try those dishes and their Ravioli.

Wonderful brunch!! Eggs and bacon are easy to get right, but potatoes require skill and they nailed it! French toast was also delish! Right on the river nice views of the water taxi and birds - we spotted a bald eagle!

Great experience out on the patio on a pretty day. Great server too (I think his name was Michael?) Tried the crab cake. Didn't care for it as much as the reviews say. Wish I had gone a different way. Then for the meal I went with the fish tacos per recommendation from the server. They were good. The best was the cucumber spritz. So delish! Topped it off with some chocolate cake which was very good as well!

If I were summarizing: River 128 is a terrific choice for a special outing — perhaps a date night, anniversary, or sunset dinner — thanks to its location, upgraded ambiance, and strong seafood/steak menu. That said, it may not yet always hit “perfect” on every dish, so if you’re a foodie seeking ultra-fine‐dining precision, it might fall just short in some cases. For the best experience, I’d recommend: • Booking ahead, especially for patio/river-view seating. • Going for the signature seafood or steak dishes rather than more standard fare. The ravioli is to die for 10/10 and If you like frozen cocktails 10/10

We just had some simple dishes, a Caesar salad and some chicken wings for a light snack and they were tremendous. The views and atmosphere are also great and the service was perfect. Something as simple as just bringing constant drink refills and being very attentive for sure deserves a great rating!

Can’t beat the location or view. This is a beautiful restaurant. The food was adequate (not encore worthy). I do feel it’s a little overpriced for what you get. My husband ordered a steak medium, it came out within a few minutes (quick) and he knew the steak would be undercooked (very rare) I got the lobster ravioli which tasted good, but only got about 5 ravioli. For nearly $40, that is overpriced. We want to come back to watch the sunset but we’ll stick to apps or some of the not as expensive entrees. The tuna sashimi app was on point. I do say it’s worth the visit to really appreciate the wilmingtons river walk and beautiful scenery downtown.

Out of town New Yorker who made reservations for best good friend's 40th birthday. Opted for outdoor seating which worked out perfect with our 7pm reservation (sunset over the battleship background was gorgeous and the weather was mild.) Couldn't have picked a better place for our celebration. Service was spot on (wish I could remember our waitresses' name to shout her out but we talked about white bean chicken chili and you recommended the duck to the birthday boy who LOVED it so if she sees this please tag yourself or tell your manager.) Apps were fresh and tasty (tuna sashimi stole the show here, but the crab lobster dip held it's own. Fried calamari were fine, side sauce (aioli?) had a nice flavor. I had the lobster raviolis topped with shrimp and was not disappointed one bit (this coming from someone who usually does not choose a pasta dish.) The delicious duck was devoured with delight by the guest of honor (accompanied by house made fried rice which was a pleasant surprise), ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the Black bass and the blackened catfish both were fresh and seasoned to perfection. Creme brulee was the dessert choice of the table and was the perfect end destination for this culinary adventure. Tons of options in the area but grateful to have picked River 128. 5/5 would recommend for anyone in the area looking for an overall enjoyable dining experience.

South Beach Grill is an upscale casual spot located on Lumina Ave. in Wrightsville Beach, offering a variety of seafood and New American dishes. The interior pays homage to the building's art deco origins, while the covered patio overlooks the scenic Banks Channel. Specialties include Crab and Seafood Nachos, Grouper Linda with a spiced pecan crust, and daily chalkboard specials featuring fresh local seafood. Additionally, they offer boat-docking facilities for visitors arriving by water.
This was my first time at the South Beach Grill. Everything on the menu looked really good. I heard some regulars talking to some other guests about the fried Black Eyed Peas. I didn’t have an opportunity to try them this time as I didn’t hear the conversation until after I was done with my meal, but I am planning on going back to try them. They really raved about them. I ate out on the patio. The service is very good with friendly, helpful people. I appreciated the view very much, you can see the water from your seat. I chose the catch of the day special for dinner. It was blackened red drum over a bed of seasoned rice with grilled asparagus and salsa verde. The fish is cooked to perfection and seasoned exactly correctly. The rice was the tiniest bit under flavored but, you know how that goes, it is rice. The grilled asparagus was very good and there were also some mushrooms in the dish that were excellent. I could use more of them, but I would also say that, no matter how many of them there were. The parking was a little tight with street parking available. The food was very good and I would guess that everything on the menu is delicious. I’ll absolutely be back.

⭐ 1 Star Two Strands of Hair – Unacceptable Experience South Beach Grill has always been one of my favorite places to eat when I visit Wilmington—but after my most recent experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning. I’m honestly considering going to Oceanic instead. I was served a plate of food that had a long, straight brown hair in it—very clearly not from anyone in my group or our server (who had curly hair). Some of the staff members did have hair that matched, though. That alone was extremely off-putting. We flagged down a manager, but instead of addressing us directly, she passed the issue to our female server, who was the only one to apologize and ask if I’d like the dish remade. I said yes, because I understand mistakes can happen. It took about 10 minutes to get a new plate. Then things got worse. As I was boxing up the meal to take home, I noticed another hair—this time in my drink (which I had already drunk half of). At that point I was disgusted and just wanted to leave. The final straw? When we got the bill, we were still charged full price for my meal, despite finding hair in both the food and the drink. No discount. No manager apology. Nothing. We paid it and left, but I left feeling really disappointed. This restaurant used to be one I recommended. Now, I’m not so sure. The food may be good, but if this is how they handle cleanliness and customer concerns, it’s hard to feel confident coming back. 📸 Photos attached for reference.

The main dish was very good. The chef was heavy handed with the salt on the tuna appetizer. We sat at the bar and she was friendly and mostly attentive. Solid A- overall.
David T — Google review
The clam chowder is good, a little on the thin side. The fried shrimp was excellent, they need to work on the slaw, very little flavor. The catch of the day was Mahi mahi, it was grilled and very good the green beans, sweet potato fries and french fries were good but not great. I would definitely go back, the service was a 10 for sure and the atmosphere was great.

Outstanding meal and good service. Friendly waitstaff. Drinks and food were really good. Only downside was it was loud inside. If the weather is good, sit out on the patio! Highly recommend the pesto pasta with shrimp and the Grouper Linda.

our first visit on a day trip to Wrightsville and were looking for a place to eat by the water. this is not by the water and you may see the sunset through the trees. we sat off the main patio on a side deck, which was nice for a group but noisy with the kitchen fans and some smells on a hot day. food options are more limited with dinner than lunch. prices were on the high side and quality across our large party was hit and miss. Shrimp & Grits was the hit but pricey. fresh catch was the miss - nothing special at all with little seasoning and bland sides at an expensive price. Waitress was new but was attentive and very helpful. finally the required 3% on charges made the higher prices even more frustrating.

We go to SBG every time we are in Wrightsville, usually more than once. We have NEVER had bad food here. It is always excellent! We have always had wonderful service, as well. Some of my favorite dishes are the clam chowder, the makers Mark salad and the squash frites. My husband loves the sweet potato crusted flounder and the SB tacos. We also love their fried pickles. The flourless torte and PB pie are our two favorite desserts. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Restaurant
The Bridge Tender is a well-established restaurant in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina, offering casual fine dining with a scenic deck overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. Since its opening in 1996, it has been a popular choice for both locals and visitors. The restaurant's location provides a picturesque view of passing boats and the water. Their menu boasts an array of seafood dishes such as fresh catch of the day, shrimp and grits, and crab cakes.
Last night we ventured out to the intracoastal at Bridge Tender for dinner. We had a delicious crab dip with my wife’s Rye Whiskey Old Fashion and I enjoyed Absolute Vodka and Blue Cheese Olives. Dinner for her was the trio, crab cake, shrimp and fish with broccoli and rice while I chose the special of the night; Red Snapper over Basmati Rice and Spinach covered with Shrimp Scampi! Our server, J Manning, was great. He explained everything perfectly and checked with the kitchen for a question we had before ordering. He maintained contact with us through out our evening! First time here but not our last!

Our server was very attentive and our food was very good, everyone in my party said they would return if they came back to town. The crab dip was so good, could not stop eating it the whole time. The calamari and crab cakes were good appetizers as well. The fried fish platter and shrimp and grits were so delicious.

Great spot to eat on the Intracoastal. You can sit indoors or outside on the patio. They have amazing seafood and the service is always high end and you are treated like royalty. Each of the entrees include 2 sides and the portions are great. This is a great romantic date night or treating family in town to a nice dinner.

The service was very good. Atmosphere is nice. Parking can be a little bit of a challenge sometimes. We enjoyed all our food. The blackened grouper in the horseradish encrusted ahi tuna were both excellent The only thing is the broccoli wasn’t completely cooked. It was still pretty crunchy. Their take on Keylime pie is quite different and was even too much for two people to eat but it was light and tasty.

The food was very good and the view are equally great. The service was very good and the food came out hot and fast. The Key Lime Pie was so very good and different. We had Shrimp and Grits along with Fried Shrimp. Both were tasty and I would recommend this restaurant.

It's a busy place because it's worth it. The food and service was excellent. We all brought home our leftovers and had them for the next days dinner. The crab cakes were out of this world 🌎 My husband had the shrimp platter and we took more than half of it home because it was abundant. Our friends had the steaks and filets which they said were made to perfection. It's a local restaurant especially on the off season. I suggest making reservations as they fill up very fast even on weeknights. This restaurant is consistently terrific in every way ! It's Highly recommend. If you are in the area it's

Had a family gathering for a party of 11. Wayne, our server, was fantastic! It was impressive because all of our food came out within a minute of each other. Our meals were absolutely delicious! I had blackened scallops and I couldn't believe that I had a dozen. ( I shared) 😊Probably the best scallops I've ever had.
Nedra S — Google review
Starting out, the shrimp cocktail appetizer gave us high expectations as it was super flavorful. Then afterwards, I had the most unseasoned entrees I’ve ever paid for. We ordered the fried shrimp and flounder combo platter and there was no flavor in the breading. Just the taste of fryer oil. Long John Silvers would have been a better choice. On the second dish, blackened mahi mahi, the fish had no seasoning on it before being “blackened” and was the most grease soaked mahi I have ever had. The roasted carrots were not fully cooked either. Super disappointing dinner especially for the price. Our waiter was great and the views were nice but the food was not worth the money whatsoever.

Catch is a restaurant in Wilmington that offers a contemporary dining experience with a focus on seafood. The establishment boasts a nautical-themed backdrop and features a bar. The chefs at Catch, including James Beard semi-finalists for Best Chef: Southeast, are known for their creative take on local seafood, using fresh ingredients from small-scale farms and fishermen. Additionally, the restaurant offers Neapolitan-style woodfired pizza and dishes inspired by Spanish, Italian, and New Orleans flavors.
Impressed! Very impressed. We ate here last night with a party of 8 of us. The menu is not extensive, offering just a selection of several seafood dishes and a choice of ribs wirh fried shrimp. There were also a few apps and 3 salads. We pretty much ordered everything. There was not a single miss among the variety of dishes. Every single bite of every dish was nothing short of perfection. The fried seafood was lightly battered with a balance of salt and spice. Even the ribs were spot on. Catch has to be on your list if you are in the area or make the drive just for this experience. It's that good!

Catch was the highlight of our trip to Wilmington. Every dish we had was incredible, from the table bread with that delicious sauce to the tempura lobster. The service was also great. Everyone was very kind and if we asked for anything tried to make it happen for us. We had a couple of cocktails as well and they were both delicious. Was I surprised when I looked up that the chef was on Top Chef? No, I was not. 10/10. Dish specifics - The crab cakes truly don’t have filler. Fresh, delicious, and the mashed potatoes are velvety and pair with the lobster sauce impeccably - The ribs are fall of the bone tender, the sauce is flavorful and delicious and the sides are great. We asked for hot sauce with the collards cause we wanted a little kick and the staff gave us a heads up it wasn’t really spicy if we liked our collards that way. We got the shrimp grilled and the way you could taste the smokiness on them, plus perfect texture, loved it. - The tempura lobster is a dish I will think about for a while. I honestly was a little skeptical of the flash fry of the lobster but that texture was PERFECT. The tempura was light but added a fantastic crunch, and the pasta with it was so rich and yummy. - We finished out with the sticky bun cake and it was so yummy. We asked for milk to go with it and while they dont have that on the menu they made it happen for us

Upon arriving this little restaurant doesn’t look like much on the outside, but inside is a gorgeous fine dining setting that feels cozy and luxurious. This was one of the best meals I’d ever had in my life. The food was clearly made with care by a chef that knows flavor, texture, and presentation. Our server, Robert, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Next time I find myself in Wilmington I will definitely be dining here again. I ordered the fried okra appetizer and tempura lobster with broccoli and macaroni. 11/10 recommend!

April 19, 2025: Last night we had reservations at the first place we visited for dinner 5 years ago when we still lived in Lumberton! A James Beard nominated chef and much more. After we moved here 3 years ago we went back and it became our go to restaurant for special occasions! Celebrating our anniversary we returned here for a great dinner starting with fancy drinks followed by Octopus Mofongo and Oysters on the half shell. My wife had Soft shell Crab and I had Grouper! Dessert was Butter Milk Pie made by the owners daughter! The creativity of the Chefs and the quality of the entrees is always top notch and complemented by the staff. Our serverJen and other servers team up to make sure the evening was a great success! Prior visit: Dinner at Catch last night started with a complimentary champagne with blueberries followed by a Manhattan for me and Vodka Martini for my husband followed by a dozen oysters from 3 different locations, Grouper special for me and Tuna for my husband then a crème brûlée to share! Our server Robert was great and this restaurant is our favorite go to place for special events. The quality of the food and ambiance of this restaurant is not matched in Wilmington. Prior experiences: Went to "Catch" after 4 years. One of the first places we visited when living in Lumberton and on a vacation weekend. James Beard Award winner and worth the visit! Started with Smokey Old Fashion and Martini with Blue Cheese Olives and 2 different oysters! My wife had ribs and shrimp with sweet potato brûlée and collards and I had Drunkin Noodles with egg plant, Bok Choy and lobster.

The food was so darn good!!! I’ll definitely be back.

We have been coming to this restaurant for 10 years now and over the years we have noticed a decline in the food quality. A time or two ago, we swore that we would never come back but we always get sucked back in because it's on the water and after a few hours of kayaking we are usually hungry and just want a cold beer and some shrimp. The peel and eat shrimp use to be good but lately they have been just ok. The beer is no longer served in bottles but now is in cans only. They use to have beer on tap but no longer have that either. Today we stopped in after kayaking, knowing that it was going to be hit or miss. Well today was the final straw. We were seated immediately and then waited about 20 minutes before somebody came to take our drink order. It was a female waitress who did not introduce herself and we asked about the beer hoping that maybe something had changed, but no. We don't like beer in cans, so my friend ordered a coke and I ordered a cocktail, a Spicy Paloma which I have had before at other restaurants. We waited another 20 minutes for our drinks to come and mine seemed like it had been sitting a while because the ice was mostly melted and the drink was very watered down. My friends coke was watered down also. We should have sent them back and left at that point. Once I found a straw and stirred my drink it was a little better. However a Paloma is usually a little fizzy and this was not. It was just not good. The Tajin was all over the outside of the plastic "glass" instead of on the rim. We finally placed our food order and waited another 20 minutes until our food came. We both ordered the fiesta bowl. Mine was with chicken and my friends was with shrimp. We had never had this before and will never again. The shrimp were tiny and looked like they had been frozen. My bowl with the chicken was a little better. The bowls were mostly rice and it was very dry. Of course when we realized this our missing in action waitress was nowhere to be seen. We asked another male waiter for ranch dressing and he went and got her. So we asked her for ranch dressing and she brought us 2. This made the bowls a little bit better but just ok. The other food item that we ordered was the homemade potato chips which are always good. When the waitress brought our ranch dressing we went ahead and requested the check because by now we had been there over an hour. Of course she brought the check immediately. I put my credit card with the check to let her know that she could take the check but she never came back. When we waited as long as we were willing to wait, we got up and went to the hostess station like we had seen the couple at the table next to us do. The hostess asked who our waitress was and we told her that we had no idea as she had not introduced herself. The hostess then asked us what she looked like - at this point we were really annoyed and showed her which table we were seated at. She went off to find our waitress and left us standing there waiting. Our waitress finally appeared and took our payment and we left. We were there for 1 hour and 20 minutes....for lunch, not by our choosing. As we walked out we once again said.. ..never again. I'm not sure who is managing the staff but they should be fired. It appears that there is very little training or accountability.

Dockside Restaurant was nice to visit while in Wrightsville Beach, NC. 4/5 service, 4/5 food plating and taste/preparation and a good atmosphere. This lil Restaurant is open air seating with some under a covered tent area. You will find beautiful views. Steamed oysters seemed fresh, but under cooked during the steaming process. The "catch if the day," tuna was good. The blackened seasoning was too much/too salty, but pretty good. $20.00 for a tuna sandwich and house-made chips is pricey, but you're also buying the location. Easy parking can be found just across the street. Enjoy!

Beautiful Seafood Rehearsal Dinner at Dockside! We would 10/10 recommend Dockside as a rehearsal dinner venue. The gorgeous, laid back atmosphere is just what we needed the night before our wedding! The intimate upstairs room overlooking the water was perfect for the family and bridal party to kick off wedding weekend! Food was delicious, drinks were fabulous. Staff were amazing! Kris and Corey helped us throughout planning and were exceptional to work with. I have no complaints at all! What a special night. Thank you, Dockside!

I expected at least a decent experience based on the thousands of reviews. However, when we arrived, the area near the front desk was crowded with teenage staff chatting in groups. Thankfully, our server was polite and attentive — probably the only positive part of our visit. I was shocked to see our food served on flimsy white plastic plates — the kind you wouldn’t even expect from Dollar Tree. Even more disappointing: they only serve canned beer. No draft options at all. We ordered the $30 "special pasta," and it was an absolute disaster. It looked like something a child might throw together — overcooked macaroni in a watery, cheese-like sauce, topped with a few shrimp and two small sausages. Honestly, calling it “food” feels generous. My son, who was starving, ate half before giving up with a look of disgust. I took one bite and broke out in hives around my neck. I normally tip 25% or more, but this was the first time I walked out without tipping. I even asked the server who had prepared the dish — was it one of the teenagers hanging around the kitchen? If the owner is reading this, I sincerely ask: was this dish actually prepared by a trained chef in your kitchen? This meal was not worth the price — not even for the view. I’d take Chick-fil-A over this any day.

Great spot by the water with lots of outdoor seating and is dog friendly. Thomas took excellent care of us and the food was served faster than expected. We had the Founder platter with hushpuppies. Both were cooked perfectly with great flavor. I got the crab cakes entree with fries and a southern harvest salad. I was spoiled by Maryland crab cakes and I think these are the best I’ve had since. The salad came with a fruit vinaigrette that paired perfect with the fruit and nuts on the salad. We’ll definitely be back.

I ordered the dockside lemonade. It’s 14 dollars served in a small glass and the description says strawberry purée and really the just mixed strawberry lemonade from the store w the vodka. We ordered the tsunami honey fire shrimp app and it’s just a bunch of small tiny chewy shrimp with Buffalo hot sauce drenched in it. I have had dinner here before and the entire parties food that included tacos/burger/fish were all disgusting. My tacos were inedible. The fries were amazing tho!

Incredible food. Everything was good, and I'm not being hyperbolic. The housemade pickles were great, oysters were incredible, and the entrees were interesting. Drinks were just okay, but they have a big menu so there's lots of options to choose from and customize. The service was amazing. I spent an anniversary dinner here, and it was perfect for the occasion. Would absolutely come back again.

I live out of town and found myself here twice in one month. SO good. The service was right on, super friendly. All I can say is, the tomato salad, summer squash, pickle plate, fried fish, beef tartar, lobster ceviche, cookie butter ice cream, candy car dessert, and the blonde brownie were simply fantastic.

A friend suggested we go for 1/2 price apps.. Its a daily menu with some changes each day... 5-7 Tuesday-Friday I think... We sat at the bar, even though neither of us drink booze, and the bartender was very courteous and made a mocktail for my friend... The manager was equally friendly 👍They served housemade Sourdough & butter... I had the Roasted Pumpkin Salad which was DEEEELISH, Pimento Cheese Dip with Crostini, and the Chorizo with Blistered Peppers 🌶 The chorizo was a little crispy for my liking, but DEELISH and I ate it all 😉 Be prepared that the Dip is served cold, but still very yummy... We shared the Bread Pudding for dessert 😋 A bunch of things on the menu I'd still like to try. I'll be back 😃

Paddy's Hollow Restaurant & Pub, located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, has been serving up hearty American fare for over 40 years. While it started as a place for drinks and darts, it has evolved into a popular dining spot with an extensive menu of traditional American food and a kids menu. The pub offers a classic atmosphere with dim lighting that recreates the feel of an Irish pub.
Very laid back pub. Food was excellent, service great and atmosphere is wonderful. We cannot stop eating the French fries. Very good fish and chips and a ground Angus burger.

My family loves visiting this place whenever we are at the Cotton Exchange. Food is usually pretty good. The fish n chips had to much batter last time I visited. Other than that, the service is usually fairly quick. When they are busy though, it's really tough finding a waiter. (Entrance from where the picture is taken is at the end of the corridor to the left.)

I gave this place a 5 star for atmosphere because that is all we experienced. Walked in at 4:30 in the afternoon to get an early meal before a concert at the Wilson Center. The sign said to wait to be seated. So we waited and waited. The 5 or so people drinking at the bar looked and one man just stared. No one came out. Enough said.

The place was much better lit than most pubs I've been in. Service was good. I saw signs calling it a gastropub and....I don't think they know what a gastropub is. The food was okay but maybe I'm just a bit spoiled coming from a big food city.

We stopped here for drinks after walking the Riverwalk and shopping in the Cotton Market. My husband has Irish Heritage and we love trying the local Irish Pub everywhere we go, and he was of course looking forward to having a Guinness. We came in behind another couple and sat at the bar. The bar tender gave us all menus at the same time, and was attentive and answered questions we had. She pretty much took all our orders at the same time and served us quickly. I sometimes struggle in Irish Pubs as I am only a wine drinker. I unfortunately never developed a palette for Beer and have long since lost my joy in drinking liquor/cocktails. I ended up having the Pinot Noir and it was really good! I was impressed with the number of wines they actually had available on the menu. The atmosphere transports you to a true pub feel. We even ended up chatting with and getting to know the other couple at the bar. Just such a charming and fun place. We wish we would have had time to play darts and eat, but had time constraints. Highly recommend if you like a "Family" feel and authentic Irish Pub.

Service is a tad slow only because they have a limited wait staff but they are attentive and awesome! No cup went half full for more than a minute. Orders were brought out hot and fresh. The food is delicious and their is a wonderful selection of sandwiches and entrees. Coffee is extremely good, smells like it just came off the pot even writing this at 2. The prices are mid range for the surrounding area and you get a good amount for the cost. Definitely a recommended stop down town.

What an amazing experience, we started with the appetizer platter the hummus was fresh and tasty the falafel was good the eggplant delight was DELICIOUS! The grape leaves were good but I prefer mine warm not cold and there’s is cold but good overall. Our main dish was the special for the day which was a sea bass and it came with the rice and vegetables. The vegetables were shredded and lemony and good the rice was soft and tasted fresh. The fish was good and buttery and flaky it was grilled and cooked perfectly. The deserts were to die for! The kunafe was AMAZING and just like my Tata used to make. The Baklava was fresh and delicious. We left not a crumb on the plate. The Turkish coffee was awesome as well. Overall food was fresh and delicious and it was like walking into a family members house and having a good meal. The place was clean and lively. The customer service was great. As a fellow small business owner it felt good to support this business. 10/10 everyone should try this place.

Quaint little place out of the way on Front Street. GREAT food. Unfortunately, the food was very good but the service, attitude and price changes have caused me to never visit again. I did not want a big lunch so I ordered the sampler appetizer. Given I was gluten free the waiter offered to substitute the bread for veggies. When I received my bill, I was charged $15.00 for the appetizer and $4.00 for the veggies. The same sampler appetizer was served to another person at my table and was charged $10.00. When I questioned the amount he informed me it was on the bill. On line that same appetizer is listed for $12.00. Go figure. Never Again!!!!

It’s a small place that seats only 7 tables so you need to get lucky or make a reservation. The owner was extremely friendly and let us sit before a reservation. Food was 10/10. Fantastic. Definitely get the black sea combo and finish with a Turkish coffee. Will return every time I’m in the area.

We absolutely loved our dining experience at this restaurant ! From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We indulged in the chicken and beef kebabs, along with the beef patties, and every bite was a burst of flavor. The meats were incredibly juicy and tender, showcasing authentic Mediterranean spices. The service was outstanding, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone eager to savor delicious Mediterranean dishes!

Bonefish Grill is a seafood restaurant with excellent service and delicious dishes like the Bang Bang Shrimp. The restaurant is conveniently located in a central spot on New Center Drive, and I will definitely be back.
Dinner was amazing last evening. Please let chef know the grilled pineapples were the best I’ve ever had. Every single plate was perfect. The drinks!! Whomever created those beautiful crafted bourbon cocktails deserves an award! The staff-incredible. The service and entire experience was executed perfectly.

Ahhhmaazing!! The service from Dylan was phenomenal and the food was perfect! Their cocktails were reasonably priced and well made. Clean and Quiet atmosphere. They made our Anniversary unforgettable and even gave us a beautiful dessert to take home at no charge! To top it off they gave us an anniversary card signed by all the staff. Great job Bonefish!!

Beautiful, clean restaurant. We had a very nice server by the name of Tyler. The food was absolutely delicious. I had pineapple glazed shrimp with lemon risotto and grilled pineapple. My hubby had the Baja fish tacos. Everything was amazing and we can't wait to return!

Excellent evening at Bonefish bourbon pairing. So much fun, delicious food and drinks and excellent service. Dylan was our server and he went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. He is definitely an asset to this establishment. Might I add easy on the eyes. Thank you again

Never in my life have I experienced such an excellent dinner! The hostess greeted us and was so sweet, then we were seated at a big booth for our family of 5, and since it was our first time, the hostess explained that we could color on the table with our kids! Which I loved and so did they. Then we met our waitress…she was amazing. She was attentive, kind, and didn’t come too much or too little. The manager came and introduced herself as well and she was so friendly and sweet too. It was just an amazing experience all together. We are here on a mini-vacation from VA, so it was really great to find somewhere that was delicious and also had amazing staff. Thank you so much!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Wilmington, Port Land Grille is a chef-owned culinary haven that celebrates the rich bounty of both land and sea. This charming eatery prides itself on sourcing ingredients from local farmers, fishermen, and ranchers to create imaginative American dishes. The menu features an array of small plates perfect for sharing, such as roasted North Carolina peanut hummus and truffle sweet potato fries, alongside enticing entrees like wild-caught grouper and succulent duck breast.
Friendly, welcoming restaurant with gorgeous decor and both a bar area and outdoor (fire pit patio) seating optional. Every single staff person my husband and I encountered was helpful and kind, which makes for a relaxing experience. The drinks were excellently prepared and the food - from app to entree and even dessert - was exquisite. Superior quality dining. An especially perfect place to bring visiting guests, celebrate occasions, etc. Pricier than some of the other area fare, but absolutely worth the extra few bucks. We had salads, grouper with corn chowder and the tenderloin. The photos do not do justice (especially since we started eating before I remembered to take pics).

My Fiancé and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at this establishment. I would like to say, all staff were completely welcoming and respectful. The food was exceptionally delicious! I ordered the scallops and my fiancé ordered a ribeye. The plating of our food was exquisite and the ambience of the restaurant was swanky. Our server name was Laura, she was an exceptional server and she exceeded our expectations throughout the evening. I assure you that we will be dinning again at this divine restaurant.

This was our first visit. We had an early reservation (5:30pm). We were seated immediately at a table by the window. The atmosphere was nice and quiet with dim lighting which my husband and I both appreciate. Our server Laura was very attentive to our every need. She made our visit here delightful. The white cheddar pimento cheese appetizer was delightful. My husband and I both ordered blackened red snapper which was delectable. It was perfectly cooked and paired nicely with the chowder, corn, spinach, and fingerling potatoes. For dessert, I enjoyed the peaches and cream bread pudding with ice cream, and my husband enjoyed the chocolate pie. We will certainly visit this restaurant again. **We did not think to take pictures until we had already started indulging**

Steak is amazing. Fish is amazing. They can get your order wrong. Espresso coffee not recommended at all. Inside and outside seating available.

Every course was superb. Started with the pimento cheese and the pickled cucumber and pepper jelly was a nice addition. The tuna appetizer was light and yummy. The filet was cooked perfectly and the twice baked potato was super good. The Key Lime Pie did not disappoint but the chocolate chess pie was unbelievable!!!
Heather P — Google review
The food and service were equally excellent. Joe was our server and he was amazing from his recommendation to his over and beyond service. He even put the delicious salad I couldn't finish in the refrigerator for freshness. The food is everything! I had the ribeye and my boyfriend had the lamb chops, both we're amazing and plentiful. We we're visiting from out of town but both of us agreed that we will return again when visiting Wilmington.
Richele W — Google review
Port Land Grille is hands down the best restaurant in Wilmington! We sat outside for dinner next to an outdoor heater, and it was so comfortable and lovely to enjoy a fall evening meal outdoors. The food was absolutely impeccable — we started with the Wedge Salad (best dressing ever!) and pimento cheese, followed by the barrel-cut beef tenderloin with a twice-baked potato and green beans. We finished with the most delicious seasonal cheesecake. My favorite cocktail, the Queen Anne’s Lace, was perfection, and we wrapped up the night with espresso martinis. The wait staff is professional, attentive, and truly works as a team (shout out to Rocky & Brandon!). The owner, Anne, goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home. There’s a reason Port Land Grille has been so successful for 20+ years — they consistently deliver an exceptional dining experience. Add this restaurant to your list for your next date night, girls’ night, celebratory dinner, or family get-together. It will not disappoint. Can’t wait for my next meal at PLG!
Jodi L — Google review
Was greeted with nice smiles and pleasantries, quickly escorted to our table and immediately attended to by our waiter. Ordering drinks was a little awkward as bartender was unaware of a couple of drinks, didn't have all the ingredients for one drink and didn't have a blender to make it appropriately. Yet, service was good and waiter attentive and clearly wanted to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Food was generally good yet my red grouper was disappointedly overcooked and tough, although the chowder that accompanied it was good.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful seafood experience in Wilmington, look no further than Something Fishy Seafood. This charming down-home seafood shack has been a beloved local spot for years, serving up generous portions of classic dishes like fried trout, flounder, and scallops.
Stopped in for dinner after leaving the beach. I must say I was impressed. Not a lot of menu options simple and effective. Flounder was good it was fried nice and crispy. Hush puppies were soo delicious my two year old nephew literally ate the whole basket. Great reasonable prices and awesome attentive customer service.

Been thinking about going here for a while. Big fan of DDD and local spots and this is perfect, nothing pretentious, just a chill local spot with great food. On the way back from Carolina Beach we decided to stop. It's mostly fried seafood but they did have a grilled mahi special and they do have steamed options. The chowder was very good. For my meal I got deviled crab, oysters, fried okra and slaw. Haven't had fried okra in a while and it was great. Was going to get scallops but unfortunately they were out. They must be great because while I was there at least 7 people tried to order them. I was disappointed they were out but the oysters and crab were good. I will say that I only eat fried seafood every once in a while. This was light, not overly greasy and very tasty. My son got the sampler platter which was a ton of basically everything they have as well as 2 sides. For the amount of food you get it is a great deal. It's good quality food for reasonable prices. The sweet tea was awesome as well. We had 6 people and everyone loved their food. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. Check them out. I will be back to try the scallops

We’re not from the area and we were looking for some great seafood. A few people suggested that we try “Something Fishy”. The food was delicious and they gave us plenty of food. I ordered the seafood platter and it was so much food that I couldn’t eat all of it. By the way, the sweet tea was very good too.

I'm in town working and searched for a "fish camp" style restaurant, this was IT! I ordered the "sampler" and man, that was a lot of food!!! I couldn't eat half of it, I'm hoping I can slowly reheat it tomorrow. I've attached 3 pictures, one of the whole plate, the next is 2 of the 6 scallops (they were huge), the last is one of the many oysters. I didn't even eat the fried or boiled shrimp. I'd be here every week if I lived closer by. Oh, I forgot, the best deviled crab I've ever had. I'm assuming that was homemade because it was awesome.

My beau recommended we try Something Fishy as he heard by a friend that it was good. We went early around 4:00 pm on a Tuesday because we wanted to miss the dinner crowd. We were promptly seated. Ordered our food and nibbled on some fresh hushpuppies! They were like little bites of sweet cornbread. The fried shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection! Our sides were all delish! I was so impressed by all the servers! These young men had exceptional manners. I heard them say yes sir or yes ma’am, very polite to all customers. All around a wonderful experience! Love the vibe. We will be back on our next trip to CB!

Jax 5th Avenue Deli & Ale House offers a mix of traditional bar and bistro food, including deli sandwiches made with Boars Head meats. The restaurant has a retro airstream-style facade and an expansive interior with plenty of bar seating. Visitors can enjoy friendly service, outdoor dining, and a variety of local beers on tap. One unique touch is the complimentary appetizer of sliced pickles that guests receive when they sit down.
Jax is an unassuming restaurant we found while visiting Wilmington for a day. While not very busy there was a steady amount of customers and pickup/delivery orders. The complimentary pickles brought to your table was a pleasant surprise and they were delicious! We ordered the meatball melt which my husband said was delicious and I had the fig and gorgonzola pizza which was a little crispy but good. The pizza portion seemed smaller at first but it was loaded with toppings and I could barely finish it. We also ordered the soft pretzel with beer cheese and it definitely tasted homemade and not like a normal soft pretzel appetizer you get at most restaurants. It was an excellent choice for a dinner out while on vacation and we would recommend it to anyone in the area.
J M — Google review
Went for dinner and the attraction for me was the diner look and feel. I sat at the bar as I was dining by myself. Bartender greeted me and was friendly. I sat and she had provided me the menus and asked if I wanted pickles, a little confused and was informed that they give a little jar of pickles instead of chips at the bar. I must say there were some solid pickle chips. I ordered a pastrami sandwich with the Mac and cheese as the bartender told me it was a solid side choice. The sandwich was good on toasted bread. The Mac and cheese was solid and nice and cheesy. Overall a great meal and service was quick also.

Do you ever go somewhere and just feel inclined to write a review it was so good? The food was A+, we also got the spinach artichoke dip and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Portions were great, pricing was reasonable, service was friendly and timely. Definitely will be coming back here!

The atmosphere was chill and relaxed. The TVs were not overpowering like they are at a bunch of sports bars. My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner here. We had the beer, cheese pretzel, the French dip and the beef dip. They might’ve been a little small in portion, but were phenomenal in flavor! They serve house made pickles and house made ranch that were delicious. My only critique… The waitress seemed like she needed a cup of coffee or two. The poor lady was very sweet, but forgot my husband is beer sample and just seem genuinely exhausted.
Noel P — Google review
Great place to stop for a quick bite and a drink. Homemade pickles as an appetizer are a nice touch! Sandwich and pizza choices are plentiful. Everything we tried was very flavorful! Visited for lunch on a Sunday, and it was almost full for the entire time we were here.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere, food is delivered quickly. Chicken salad Chibatta and Potato salad is Amazing. In house pickles are a must with whatever you're drinking. I even buy extra to take home. I personally have not tried their pizzas but everyone that I have talked to at the bar says they are amazing. Ordering one to go next time.
Joe M — Google review
My husband found this Gem when we moved to Wilmington in 2018 and have been returning here time and time again. We have never had a bad meal here. Must tries....the Crab cake pizza (my fav), the Greenpoint, the Wall Street Reuben, not on the menu but is always on special, the Wu Tang ( Hubby's fav), smoked salmon deviled eggs and instead of chips as your side opt for the potato salad (I'm still trying to figure out the recipe!) Definitely, get the complimentary pickles! They also have a great selection of beer and cider. We have never been disappointed and always bring family to Jax when they visit!
Kristi L — Google review
It was good. I didn't realize that the potato chips came in a bag that they weren't home made.So I bought seventy five cents worth of ranch dressing and didn't realize I didn't need that, because I didn't want to eat the processed chips. But the sandwich was incredibly good.

Great place to play volleyball and have fun. Even if you’re there to watch it’s fun, everyone seems to be having a great time and a very friendly crowd. Service was pretty poor. We sat on the patio for over 25 minutes without anyone acknowledging us, eventually having to go to the bar to place our order. The server was not busy. We saw her chatting with others and clearly ignoring us. The bartender was sympathetic and took our order, then brought our drinks about 5 minutes later, likely because the server had no idea where they were supposed to go. There seemed to be some confusion with the food. Only half of it came out at first, but the bartender confirmed the rest was coming. After another 25 minutes with no update, we asked about it and were told the kitchen had the rest of the order but it had not come out yet. We asked to take it to go since the service, aside from the bartender, had been terrible. While I was paying, we saw the food handed to the server who threw her hands up like she had no idea what it was, which made sense because she had not taken or checked on the order at all.

This was a great dinner experience. we got seated right away, and our drink orders taken. all my coworkers enjoyed their food. I enjoyed the Dock Platter which had a little of everything. Huge tiger shrimp, crab, clams, mussels, and potatoes and corn on the cob. it was a meal fit for a king! Sheena was our waitress and she was superb! I left a generous tip but it wasn't big enough in my opinion. Nice dining room built around a relaxing beach culture. some of the freshest seafood I have had in a very long time. Great food and friendly staff. Visited on a Saturday night. Not super crowded but had a 10 minute wait and was not disappointed when we finally were seated. Waitress was ready to take our drink orders. The salad was fresh and the ranch was super creamy and filled with herbs. The NZ mussles were steamed fresh and was served with melted butter and lemon. Very yummy and the seasoning on them was tasty. The soup was very delicious. Creamy with bits of potato and loads of crab Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm gooood!! Will make another visit soon. 😊😊😊

Such a fun and lively place. I love to sit at the bar when its just my wife and me dining. We always enjoy the steamed oysters, crab legs and. Crab dip. This place is always one of the first I think of when going out for a fun drink and seafood delights. Back again 9-16-17. Still fabulous. Great spot to settle in at the bar on Saturday, watch football and eat oysters rockefeller, crab legs, crab dip and you favorite beer or wine. Back yet again 12-15-17. Lots of fun. A surprising hole in the wall off the Wilmington river walk! Fresh seafood, unique takes on local catches! I had a pom fizz, half dozen raw ousters, and basil crusted catfish with garlic mashed potatoes and squash casserole. All was fresh, perfectly cooked (or raw!) And super flavorful. The entree was way more fancy than I was expecting for this quirky little bar and I was not disappointed. I'll be back!

Unfortunately the food was not as good as we'd hoped. Tried the Clam Chowder which was clearly out of a can and immediately felt we were taken advantage of at almost $4 a bowl. The stuffed flounder was a disappointment and reeked havoc on the stomach later in the day. They probably would be most acceptable if they labeled their business as a fast food place as opposed to a Restaurant. Also, the portion sizes were much smaller than expected for the prices charged. I would say our overall experience was Meh....we'll keep looking.

My dad and I went here for dinner and it started out with a wonderful waiter and his recommendations. We had both seafood boils and pho. Both were excellent served hot and tasted great. The owner came out spoke to us about the clams being wild caught and how the broth is simmered from bone marrow. Would recommend and will be back.

Just had the pleasure of trying Red's for the first time and it was just wonderful. We took my husband's parents there for a late lunch and everything was fantastic. Mama was looking for a good fried shrimp plate, and ohhh boy did it hit the spot. The shrimp are big and perfectly fried, well seasoned, and the boss man gave us a variety of sauces- all of which were so delicious and flavorful. I got the crab cakes which were absolutely bonkers. They aren't your standard large patties, but instead they were little crab cake balls and they were so incredible. Being smaller you get more of that crispy fried exterior so the ratio of crispy outside to soft sweet inside was utterly perfect. No one ever saw an empty cup, our food came out very fast, everyone's plates came out at the same time and it was all piping hot. My mother in-love had fried shrimp, father in-love had fried shrimp and fried flounder, and my husband and I had crabcakes and fried shrimp. And when I tell you everything was ON POINT I mean *everything* it was absolutely amazing. 10/10 cant wait to go try the rest of the menu!

Nice place!! Disappointed with a house salad I ordered. Lots more of lettuce than anything else that was supposed to be on it. Also only ranch dressing. I ordered the calamari too! Very small and delicate..I prefer to have some texture and bite to it..seasoned well though! Ordered the flounder and shrimp basket..two pieces of fish and FOUR SHRIMP with fries for $17. I will say the shrimp was great but only 4?!? Flounder was good too! Fries wasn’t my cup of tea. But let’s talk about the onion rings!! They were delicious and I could taste the beer in the batter! Maybe I would give them another shot when I’m back in that town.
