Akita in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Akita, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Akita City offers a mix of history, culture, and seasonal scenery in northern Tohoku, easily reached by shinkansen and with good access to the Sea of Japan coast. Its centerpiece attraction is the Akita Kanto Festival in early August, when performers balance towering poles of lanterns in one of Japan’s most famous summer festivals. Visitors can explore Senshu Park with the reconstructed turret and remnants of Kubota Castle, and see regional art at the Akita Museum of Art, known for works by Tsuguharu Foujita. The city also serves as a convenient base for day trips to hot spring areas and rural landscapes elsewhere in Akita Prefecture.
With favorites like Kubota Castle Ruins, AKITA GYU GENTEI, and Akita Tempura MIKAWA, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Takamura and Hotel Pearl City Akita Kawabata so you can get the best taste of Akita while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Roadside Station Akitakō is a convenient rest stop offering various amenities. Visitors can enjoy cafes, an observation tower with stunning views, and a market selling local products such as Akita sake and seasonal vegetables. The station also features a seafood restaurant and gelato made from local ingredients. Additionally, the location provides beautiful port scenery and clean facilities, making it an ideal place to take a break during travels.
Free observatory deck at 100m high. Great sunset view of Nippon Sea. First floor is local market. Good idea and concept.
Bryan W — Google review
Solid use of a tower to enhance a roadside station. Great views and entry is free. Prices in the market appear just a little higher than other markets, but not prohibitively.

2025.11.01 Sat Some event is going on.. The Akita Police car and motorbike look so cool. View from 5th floor at the Observation tower was enjoyable.

What a grand tower by the seaside/Harbour. And the visit to the top was FOC - free! I was very surprised. Food for lunch was ok, simple, nothing much to shout about. After lunch we went to the top view; And subsequently had coffee at one of the other restaurants below. Nice scenery to see the shore line, windmill fans lining the coastal line too!
Jeremy C — Google review
Very good shopping for local Akita things. Awesome that they do not charge to go up the elevator. Spectacular view.
Eric W — Google review
Drove into this roadside station on the way to the Nahagame museum at oga from Akita city. We were captivated by the beautiful port scenery and that’s the reason why we stopped. After stopping, we went into it and saw that there were eateries inside it. But maybe it was too early, it was not opened yet. But the souvenir shop had opened and there were many local items for sale. Washrooms were clean as well. After which I went over to the harbour area to take some pictures and saw a naval vessel docked.
Gator — Google review
Great place to see the Japan sea especially when the weather is clear ...the entrance is free and there's a coffee place where you can enjoy the view with a some ice cream
Hanan — Google review
This where cruise ships dock. Nothing special about the place. Do not go for the cruise ship options. There is a train stop 5mins walk away and you can get into the city for 200 yen per person, versus the 25 USD the cruise charges

Akita City Port Tower Selion

(1367)
Observation deck
Akita City Port Tower Selion is a 100-meter observation tower offering stunning panoramic views of Akita. From the Sea of Japan to Oga Peninsula and Mt Chokai, visitors can enjoy breathtaking sights, especially during sunset. Completed in 1994, this landmark stands as the tallest structure in northern Tohoku with an observation deck at 100 meters and a spire at 143.6 meters.
Very nice and huge souvenir store on the first floor. Glass tower leads to an observation on the “5th” floor (a lot higher than that, but that’s what the elevator said). Glass elevator and lookout is completely free. And the building next door has a pretty neat Udon vending machine that was once on the NHK show “72 hours”. Lots of people visit here just for that machine! All in all, a fine place to spend an hour or so.
Floyd I — Google review
143 meters tall glass tower. The admission for observation deck is free. There's a souvenir shop on the ground floor.
K2 — Google review
The tower is located near the cruise ship terminal of Akita, there is a souvenir store in the ground floor with a lot of choice if you want to buy some local gifts. The facilities are kept clean and the staff is friendly. You can visit the top of the tower freely only by elevator.
Yuta F — Google review
perfect place to unwind, very near the cruise ship port where we docked. Very nice people 💕
Edz M — Google review
The 360o views are fabulous, over the sea, the city and the mountains behind. The Tower has a few cafes but we decided to eat at the food court on ground floor. The sashimi and sushi were fresh, generous and cheap. It’s also most pleasant to walk around the harbor.
Juha U — Google review
A free observation deck at port area with 360 degrees view which closes at late night. You could reach there to enjoy the day view, the operation of the port and the wind turbine plus the roadside station there. I enjoyed the night view only for the vibe of the luminaries of the combination of port and wind turbine. The most importantly this observation is free of charge! What a joy.
Chuen — Google review
Great way to look at the city we are in amd see what is around. Views are amazing

Great viewing observatory spot for viewing Akita city at night. The thing is it’s far from the city and it becomes quite deserted at night.

Akita City Folk Arts Center (Neburinagashi-Kan)

4.1
(1164)
Local history museum
The Akita City Folk Arts Center (Neburinagashi-Kan) is a modern museum showcasing local festivals and folk entertainment. It features the famous pole lantern festival, known as the Kanto festival, held annually in August. Visitors can marvel at the 12-meter long, 50 kg Kanto lantern and even try their hand at handling the poles. The center also highlights traditional events like the Tsuchizaki Shinmeisha Shrine celebration and Bon-den.
Great museum, very cheap entrance fee and super interesting. It is interactive and you can try carrying the big lanterns in a mini version yourself as well as playing the Taiko which is located on the 3rd floor. Probably a must see when you're in Akita :)
Ajumi H — Google review
You can experience holding the 竿灯 and try 太鼓in the museum. For a small price, you can visit 2 museum. There are 3 storey. A good place to visit in Akita

A place where you can learn about Akita's traditional festival kanto. The actual Kanto lanterns were on display and it was very impressive.

What a wonderful facility and center! We had a fantastic time learning about all of the cultural traditions of Akita. The staff did a brilliant job of explaining and demonstrating, and overall I really recommend this place.

Really cool little museum about the Kanto festival. You can try to balance the lantern and play the drums. Highly recommend for any visitors. They have a co-entry ticket with the Akakan.
Noam E — Google review
The Akita City Folk Traditions Hall was created for the purpose of preserving and handing down the local folk events and entertainment of Akita City and it has been nicknamed the "Neburi-nagashi hall". On the first floor you will find an exhibition hall that introduces a number of traditional festivals and events in Akita City such as the Akita Kanto, the Tsuchizaki Shinmeisha Shrine celebration, and Bon-den. The Akita Kanto is a festival where a large number of paper lanterns are affixed on rods joined together crosswise in order to pray for a good rice harvest. You can see the skilled performers carrying the lanterns on their foreheads and shoulders as the audience watches on in wonder. You can also try out the Challenge Corner where you try to balance a lantern yourself, and on the second floor exhibition hall you can see documents and videos about the folk traditions here in Akita. From April to October on weekends and public holidays (13:30~14:10) there will be a performance from a representative of the Akita Kanto Society, and in summer there sometimes folk entertainment recitals.
György T — Google review
A staff kindly showed me how to hold the lanterns and I got to experience it,not easy but really fun! They also have demonstrations which I unfortunately couldn’t go but I am sure it’ll be fun. He explained in details about the Matsuri and I had also fun playing Taiko upstairs. Keneko family home’s beautiful and you get to hear Akita dialect. Heart warming experience!
Natsu S — Google review
This is a museum about the Kanto Festival, a summer festival in Akita. On the first floor, there is a Kanto experience area where you can try out. This experience is very exciting, and the comical movement of balancing the Kanto with one hand is sure to put a smile on your face. And once U participate in the Kanto experience, it's no wonder U want to see the Kanto Festival in the summer.

Senshū Park is a large park in Akita, known for its water gardens and the ruins of the Edo-period Kubota Castle. The park features seasonal cherry blossoms, azaleas, and lotus blooms. Visitors can explore the reconstructed Osumiyagura tower for panoramic views and historical exhibits. Additionally, there are ponds, shrines, and a wooden entrance gate within the park's grounds.
A big, beautiful, and historic park in Akita city. You can easily walk to here from city centre. And there is a Akita Arts Theatre Mille Has around the entrance. Visitors can also have a short break at the Art Theatre. If visited this park at the right time, guess the red leaves or green leaves can show a different view of this park.

A park located in the center city of Akita. This site is the former castle of SATAKE family, who was the Lord of Akita. There is a reconstructed gate, a museum imitated the original exterior of castle, and a shrine honoring the SATAKE family.

One of the historical public parks in Akita. It had been the castle, now it belongs to Akita city. Very beautiful red leaves in a Japanese style garden. There are fountain with carp fishes, lotus pond, Japanese shrines and others. Free to visit. It's very nice and relaxing for us.
Lily C — Google review
This park is a wonderful place to enjoy yourself together with the Akita community, It is a beautiful place that is especially beautiful during the cherry blossom festivals
Chuck C — Google review
I came here during the summer. Experiences: There was a street market festival/bazaar going on at the time of visit, where there are many interesting food and crafts for sale around the entrance to the park. There is also a bridge surrounded by large orchids which is the photo-ops place to go. There are a few landmarks in the park, such as the castle ruins, where you can learn some history about the region. There is a also a akita inu experience next to the cafe, which lets you encounter the large sized akita doggo without touching. Price: admission and akita dog experience is free. Duration: About 2-3 hours excluding time spent on the bazaar. Overall, I enjoyed the park as a short excursion while in Akita.

After a last minute change of plans, we found ourselves in Akita for a few hours longer on a drizzly Friday morning in June than expected. We were hanging around to see the Akita inu at "Akita Dog Station" that didn't open until 11AM and stumbled across this park nearby while walking around earlier that morning. I honestly wish I had known about this park earlier. It was the quintessential Japanese park with little shrines, a mini waterfall, garden, woods, bamboo and even a small eatery and gift shop. We didn't have time to do any eating or shopping, nor did we have time to go into the small museum located in a restored building. Instead we spent it just walking around the garden areas and enjoying being outside of the city. If you're in Akita, do yourself a favor and block out a few hours to give this park and surrounding areas some of your time, you won't regret it.

Kaiseki restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Takamura is a renowned restaurant located in a serene residential area of Akita City, Akita Prefecture. The owner, Mr. Hiroki Takamura, is highly esteemed for his expertise in Edo cuisine, which he honed at the prestigious Mejiro restaurant Taikohachi. The establishment is celebrated for its meticulous preparation that emphasizes the natural flavors of the ingredients. Guests can savor traditional Edo cuisine with a modern twist, featuring Western elements.
The inventive cuisine at the restaurant was a culinary revelation, each dish bursting with creativity and flavor. The chef's innovative approach to food left us speechless, It was an unforgettable dining experience that showcased the chef's remarkable talent and passion for culinary artistry. At the end of the night, my 75 year old mother was leaving, and she missed a step, Takamura-san was there to save her with cat like reflexes!! Great catch!

(Translated by Google) A famous restaurant in Tohoku Akita! This restaurant is highly rated on various gourmet sites. Gourmets from outside the prefecture go to Akita just for this. It really fits the definition of a three-star restaurant. And the menu is made up of ingredients from Akita. They also use high-quality ingredients and serve them well. The visuals are also beautiful. And the charm of this restaurant is the owner, Takamura-san. He is a very friendly person and a good talker. He has a big brother-like personality. It's possible that many people come just for Takamura-san! lol He trained at the now-defunct Edo cuisine restaurant [Taikohachi] in Mejiro, Tokyo, and served as the head chef. He is the fourth generation of Taikohachi and the only successor to Edo cuisine. (Translated by Google) “Japanese Restaurant Takamura” in Akita City was a truly wonderful experience! First of all, from the moment you enter the store, there is a quiet and dignified atmosphere that gives you the feeling that a special time is about to begin. I was able to watch Mr. Takamura, the chef, carefully prepare the food behind the counter, and it felt more like I was experiencing a story than a meal. The dishes are filled with the best of Akita's seasonal ingredients, and with each dish you will be amazed at how these ingredients can be expressed in such a way. The main dish, Akita Nishikigyu steak, was the best tasting meat I've ever had, with no odor, and I felt the flavor overflowing with every bite. For rice, we have conger eel and Akita rice, and the lingering aroma alone is enough to make it a delicious meal! Hats off to the dessert, a rice cake filled with fruits and red bean paste that goes beyond the traditional Japanese style. I was happy that it was not too sweet and tasted elegant until the end. The staff's service was courteous and first-class, but I felt comfortable with their unpretentious approach. Courses start at 15,000 yen, which is not cheap, but with this quality, I felt it was actually cheap at this price. It's no wonder that customers visit from all over the country! If you have a chance to go to Akita, this is a place you should definitely make a reservation for and experience even a few months in advance. It was a truly luxurious time that satisfied all five senses! ! The breakfast buffet was average and I was disappointed that there was no fruit. The hotel room was on the top floor and had a great view. But when I went out into the hallway, it smelled like cigarettes. The room I stayed in was non-smoking, but I wonder if it was on the same floor as a smoking room? There was something that looked like a curled up sock lying at the foot of the sofa in my room. It was disgusting. Haven't you cleaned it? When I looked around, there was dust between the sofa and bed, and I realized that I had cut corners when cleaning. I don't think I'll ever use it again. Chicken restaurant
Honke Abeya is a popular restaurant located near Akita station, making it easily accessible for visitors. The spacious and well-appointed interior provides a comfortable dining experience. While the lunch sets may be a bit pricey at 2,000 yen per person, the delicious Akita chicken dishes make it worth the cost. The restaurant offers attentive service and an English menu for international guests. Diners recommend trying the Oyakodon and Hinaijidori for a flavorful and filling meal.
Best oyakodon i have eaten in Japan. Would recommend it to everyone.
Mario — Google review
The food here is above average but not exceptional. Chicken is the specialty of Akita and the taste and tenderness of the chicken attest to it. Chicken are cooked in different styles. Grilled, fried and in soup. All are quite unique in flavour. Vegetables and side dishes are also tasty except one of the asparagus was very fibrous and can't be eaten. Service is not good. There are too few servers to cater to customers.

Not much ppl, comfy seats. The grilled sticks are way too expensive. You can try the local chicken here. But it’s not taste like what you may like to have.

- Food is fairly decent - Chicken dishes were delicious - Zero service (have to order via LINE, which is somewhat annoying) - Pricing is relatively high - Tight seating - Convenient location (at KITTE next to Tokyo Station)

Wanted to try some local delicacies and decided on this place. Oyakodon is a must try !! When I ate was like wowww! Mind blown, definitely went into my top 10 ranking for oyakodon 🥰 Iburigakko cheese was great too! The sake served was also made in Tohoku, would recommend you to take this as well. Would recommend you to reserve a seat before coming.

Meal: Lunch Budget: ¥2,000/person Closest Station: Akita Reservation Needed?: No Payment: Cash and Credit Card Kid Friendly?: Maybe not English Menu?: No The famous Akita chicken is well represented here! We enjoyed our lunch sets, which were a bit expensive at ¥2,000/person, but well worth it in our view. The interior of the restaurant is also nicely appointed and spacious. We’re giving four stars, rather than five, because the service wasn’t up to par with the price of the food. Our server seemed disinterested and didn’t represent the restaurant all that well. Otherwise, a good experience and recommended for chicken lovers!

However, I forgot to take a picture of the important menu (-_-;) So I don't remember the menu name. I believe it was a set menu of rice bowl and soba. I tried the katsudon and soba set. You can choose between hot and colander for the soba, and choose the colander. It's a set, but the katsudon is voluminous, and the soba is half-sized. It's sure to fill you up. The katsudon at the soba restaurant is delicious! Delicious as per the theory. The cutlet coated with a slightly sweet sauce and topped with egg is mellow, and the cutlet itself has just the right amount and thickness, giving it a satisfying texture. It's basically the biggest shopping mall in the area--take that for what you will, If you're used to shopping in places like Tokyo or even Sendai, it might leave a lot to desire. However, most things you're looking for, you can find here. The food court and restaurant options are satisfactorily diverse. Everything from the most tradition washoku to KFC. The layout is three floors, and the mall extends in two directions from a large round room that makes a kind of central hub. The central area is often used for local events and sales.

Train station
Akita Station is a charming transportation hub located in the Tohoku region of Japan. Despite being often overlooked by travelers, this station boasts a stunning interior with beautiful wood paneling and spacious hallways. It offers a comfortable and clean environment for passengers, with plenty of seating and various shops both inside and outside the station. Additionally, it features bus terminals at both the West and East exits, making it easy to navigate for travelers.
The rails end beside the sea wind. The air tastes of miso and salt. Akita smiles quietly, its festivals loud only in joy. The Komachi rests here like a bird finally home. Tourist Tip: Final stop. Visit Senshū Park, Neburi-Nagashi Museum, and Akita Port. Try kiritanpo nabe and sake from Dewatsuru breweries. Winter illuminations beautiful in snow.

Akita Station might not look like much from the outside, but it actually has one of the best looking interior of any train station around Japan. With its heavy use of wood panelling and long and cavernous hallway running between the East and West Entrances with plenty of benches and chairs for passengers to relax while waiting for their trains, it's one of the few big stations in Japan that doesn't fell claustrophobic.

The Akita Citizen’s Market, also known as Akita Shimin Ichiba, is a bustling hub of local food and culture just a short walk from JR Akita Station. With around 70 shops, this market is often referred to as the kitchen of Akita. Visitors can explore an array of locally-produced food ingredients including freshly caught seafood from the Sea of Japan and seasonal mountain vegetables. The market also features historical displays showcasing the region's fishing village heritage.
Came here for the nokkedon, which is a build-your-own rice bowl dish. I was not disappointed! The hardest part was finding the right place for the nokkedon. There isn't anyone trying to sell the bowl, it's just a self-service counter. At least once you find it (see the pictures), it has plenty of instructions, some in english, but most of it is in Japanese. Luckily Google translate works really well here. The counter has a map with the participating stores, including the place to get the rice. The rice store doesn't look like a rice shop at all, but once I got there, the lady knew right away and got some rice for me. Then, just go to whatever participating store there is and pick any sashimi that you like! There are plenty of tables to eat your bowl, so finding a spot was not a problem! Just be mindful the nokkedon is available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Have fun! ---- Came back 1 day later. The rice place had changed, and now they were selling boxed rice in the store in front of the stand. It was less fresh but still good enough as there was a microwave to heat it up.

This fish market in Akita is an absolute gem for seafood lovers! It’s a vibrant, bustling place where you can truly experience the local food culture. The highlight for me was the make-your-own sashimi donburi experience—going stall to stall, choosing from an incredible variety of fresh fish, and then having it all served over a bowl of perfectly seasoned rice. It doesn’t get fresher than this! The selection is fantastic—tuna, salmon, uni, ikura, and many other seasonal catches, all at very reasonable prices. Each vendor was friendly and happy to explain their offerings, making the experience both fun and educational. Beyond the seafood, there’s also a great variety of fresh regional fruits and local specialties, perfect for a snack or to take home as souvenirs. The market itself is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, with plenty of seating areas to enjoy your freshly prepared meal. If you’re visiting Akita, this market is a must-stop for a truly authentic and delicious experience. You’ll leave with a happy stomach and probably a few bags of local treats! Highly recommended for anyone who loves fresh seafood and wants a taste of local life.

A place to find cheap and fresh fish and products. You can buy ready to eat sashimi directly from many fresh fish stalls. The name of the product is "Nokkedon", literally "put everything on the rice bowl, and eat." Go to the designated "Nokkedon" desk to get tray and start with, go to rice stall to buy a bowl of rice, and miso soup for free, you will need to buy fried foods for best taste with sashimi, and go to every fresh fish stalls that sell ready-to-eat sashimi you like; You can choose every kind of sashimi you like with very cheap prices. And finally go to many available tables to put (nokke) your sashimi on your rice bowl, and eat.

Interesting produce and fish market to visit. A large number of fresh fish and crustacean species caught in local waters and local seasonal vegetable and fruit produce. There is a small booth area within the market that is a historical display of old photographs and memorabilia on Akita as a fishing village several hundred years ago that I found really interesting. Search it out. Best visited early in the day. There are a few little eateries around the edges of the market for a fishy bite to eat.

You have to speak just a wee bit of Japanese to get by with ordering if you're a tourist. I prefer and only know the word for "sweet" (NOT amazake) so I was recommended with the below. If time permits I would have liked to try the 秋田美人 beer, but I'm happy with having the chance to try out a very smooth, very delightful lightweight sake just minutes before my departure. It's conveniently located near the gates and if you're hungry, there are restaurants in the same shopping building, convenience store, and a soba place in the station.

If you're seeking a heartwarming and flavorful noodle dish, look no further than 支那そば 伊藤. This local specialty from Yokote, Jumonji ramen, features fish-based shoyu broth made with spring water from the Ou Mountains. The wheat noodles are firm, thin, and wavy, perfectly complementing the rich soy sauce and Akitas high-quality fish ingredients like bonito flakes and dried sardines.
I came to this shop at noon on a Monday, and I had no problems getting a seat. I am in town on holiday and don't really speak any Japanese, but I still felt very welcome. Staff was attentive and kind. Ordering is by ticket vending machine, their menu isn't complicated and there were English translations on the machine. I had the spicy miso ramen with added green onions and bamboo shoots. I was thoroughly satisfied. There was just enough spiciness without being overwhelming. Portions were very generous for the price, in my opinion. I ordered the medium size and I couldn't even finish it all, although I wanted to. Overall I am very happy I stopped by, and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Ramen restaurant
The Suehiro Ramen Akita Station Branch is highly popular on Friday nights around 10 PM, with visitors typically spending approximately 30 minutes there. It tends to be quieter on Sundays. This ramen chain has multiple outlets in the Tohoku area, and its first shop originated in Akita. They serve soy sauce-based ramen with a dark broth that may be overly salty for some individuals.
Good restaurant right outside of Akita JR station. It's a bit tricky to order because everything is in Japanese without photo but we managed! The Chinese soba and Chachu noodles are almost identical but the broth is a bit different (one is more flavorful but also saltier). The clam + butter noodle is great I love it! Also the fried rice is nice and of course the refill of green onions! Portions are quite big!
Chanakarn H — Google review
Small and intimate ramen restaurant. Friendly staff instantly helped and gave recommendations as noted that I am not a local. Ramen and the fried rice accompanying it were extremely good - just loved the soup base.
Henri V — Google review
If you love rich, flavorful shoyu ramen, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! The broth has a deep, savory soy sauce taste that is perfectly balanced—not too salty, but packed with umami. The slices of pork were tender and juicy, almost melting in your mouth. The marinated egg was perfectly seasoned, with a soft, creamy yolk that complemented the broth beautifully. I also tried their chahan (fried rice), and it was just as amazing! It was fragrant, well-seasoned, and had just the right amount of wok char. The texture was perfect—fluffy rice with little bits of scrambled egg and vegetables, topped with a fresh raw egg yolk that added a delicious richness when mixed in. The portions are generous, the flavors are authentic, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is cozy and has that classic ramen shop vibe. Whether you’re a ramen enthusiast or just looking for a hearty, satisfying meal, I highly recommend this place. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

A long-established ramen shop near Akita Station. It is open from early morning until late at night, so it can be used for various occasions. My favorite is clam butter ramen. The clam broth and butter in the salty soup add a seafood flavor and mellowness, making it delicious.

The butter base ramen soup taste unique! Fast serving speed! Remember to carry cash 💰 with you because you will order through vending machine for a ticket 🎫 Vending machine > ticket > pass to the staff to order ⭐️: unlimited green onions to add into your soup Throughout recommend to use google translate for the menu. It's pretty accurate.

Chukka Soba 中華そば (Ramen Noodles with Pork Slices) + Ramen Egg. This ramen chain has more outlets in Tohoku area and Akita is where the first shop started. Serving soy sauce based ramen, their dark broth may just be too salty for some. Special mention to their noodles texture which was the same medium default texture from Ichiran and their ramen egg is soy sauced which adds flavour (yep no need to dip in salt/ shio). The pork slices are not the usual ramen char siu as it’s more of lean pork slices shaved out from a slicing machine. I prefer a Tonkotsu based broth but if you like a soy sauce based one, this is the ramen chain you are looking for.

AKITA GYU GENTEI is a popular restaurant known for its delicious meat and cozy atmosphere. It's recommended to make a reservation, especially on busy days. The set lunch offers great value for wagyu beef lovers, with high-quality meat that melts in your mouth. The service and cost performance are also highly praised by visitors. If you're looking for a satisfying feast of premium beef, this restaurant comes highly recommended.
the wagyu here was sooo tender and juicy, and melted in my mouth. the various cuts were all nicely marinated. the price (¥2000) was pretty decent for the quality of the meat, and comes with salad, kimchi, rice, miso soup and water. definitely check this place out if you’re in Akita!

I visited this restaurant, as it was both on my list of restaurants to visit after seeing images of tasty meat, as well as it had been recommended to me many times over You had to have reserved a table to get in, or at least that was the case on a Saturday and I recommend you do it anyway. We had a table reservation initially at the counter, but as we arrived at the restaurant we were asked if we would like to be seated at a table instead. So we did, and after that it was time for a feast The atmosphere was great. People were seated on the floor in their own tatami rooms and on the tables. Everyone was smiling and enjoying a wonderful meal. The staff was kind and didn't seem to be in a hurry, which was a nice surprise to see in a Japanese restaurant. We had chosen a course set menu, which came with various kinds of meat, a starter and a dessert. The meat was one of the best I've had to date, and everything else was up to the same standard. It truly is one of, if not the best restaurants to eat meat in Akita The prices also surprised me. Everyone had told me that it's a super expensive restaurant, but looking at the menu I wouldn't say so. If you go with a group of 4 people (exactly), you can get a set menu + a drink of your choice for around 3,000 yen, which is more than reasonable. For 2 people the set menu was 8000 + any drinks you order. It is worth the price! So, gather your friends and go enjoy a nice dinner!

I was a walk-in for lunch and was seated quickly. Wonderful staff and service overall. The taste of the wagyu was amazing, as was the prawn. I would definitely come back again if I was in Akita.

If you’re a yakiniku lover, this place is heaven for premium beef enthusiasts! The restaurant specializes in Akita beef, and every cut we tried was absolutely top quality—richly marbled, tender, and bursting with natural flavor. We ordered a selection of different cuts, including Akita wagyu, harami, sagari, tomosankaku, and zabuton, each beautifully presented with clear labels so you know exactly what you’re tasting. The marbling was perfect—melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with just the right balance of umami and sweetness. When lightly grilled, the beef released an incredible aroma and stayed unbelievably juicy. The side dishes were equally impressive, from the crisp fresh lettuce wraps to the flavorful kimchi and refreshing pickles. Everything was thoughtfully prepared to complement the rich beef. The atmosphere is elegant yet cozy, making it perfect for both special occasions and casual gatherings. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive, explaining the different cuts and recommending the best grilling times to maximize flavor. What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional quality of the beef—you can really taste the care and craftsmanship that goes into raising Akita wagyu. It’s a memorable dining experience that showcases the best of Japanese yakiniku. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy premium wagyu beef in a relaxing and welcoming setting. I’ll definitely be coming back for another round of this unforgettable yakiniku!

Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Omoriyama Zoo is a compact yet diverse zoo situated on a hilltop, featuring enclosures for giraffes, elephants, big cats, and birds along with a visitor center. One of its major attractions is the pair of African elephants which are seldom found in Japan. The zoo also houses healthy and large tigers. Additionally, there is a steam locomotive outside the zoo that adds to its charm.
Akita Omoriyama Zoo , Akitashi Omoriyama dōbutsuen), also known as “Milve”, is a municipal zoo opened in July 1967 in the city of Akita, Akita Prefecture, Japan. Opened in 1972, the zoo covers 15 hectares, with 114 species on display. It is accredited by the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums The zoo is modeled after Asahiyama Zoo in Hokkaido with holding areas designed to mimic the animal’s natural habitat, and incorporating “action exhibits” where animal activity is encouraged, particularly during feeding time. The zoo began as a zoo attached to the Akita Prefectural Children’s Hall within the grounds of former Kubota Castle in October 1950. It was transferred to the control of Akita City in April 1953 and renamed the Akita City Children’s Zoo, and "Monkey Train ride" was very popular.[8][9] In September 1972, it was relocated to its present location. The zoo successfully bred the tanuki in captivity in 1974, followed by the barn owl in 1978, and Japanese marten in 1994. It also successfully artificially inseminated the black-backed jackal in 1990 and demoiselle crane in 1995. All of these successes were the first time for a zoo in Japan.

The trip was disappointing and heart-breaking. Although there are lots of animal species, some of their living environments were really bad when I visited (especially the penguin tank). Besides, some animals (wolf, bear) were constantly walking in circles, they look nervous and stressed out in their small living environment. I just hope the zoo reads this review and pays more attention to their animals.
Stephanie L — Google review
As far as this ZOO compares to others around the world, very sad case of animals in small cages board to death!!! Tourists will struggle if they cannot understand Japanese as there is very little english to read with signage. Very 1970s The zoo needs more compassion towards the animals welfare. Cages were clean enough and animals look fed and had clean water. This ZOO won't last unless It's animals are better housed and mental health is improved. And a general clean up. The whole place is sad!!!!

This is my second visit in less than a year. Children under high school age are free so that was a big plus. There’s an attraction park there so my friend spent half the time there riding them. We enjoyed learning about the different animals. The elephant did seem a big lonely compared to a few months ago. Winter blues? Overall a great place and wheel chair friendly.
Candy R — Google review
It was nice overall, many different kinds of animals. Some cages felt a bit small for the animals though.

It’s been so long that i did a review until i crossed this. I felt that this zoo deserve a 5 stars review as it’s really worth the trip and also way too spectacular. There are lot’s of variety and interactions with the animals up close and i mean real close, also the enclosure of the animals are pretty clean so there’s little smell to it and it’s really acceptable. Also, the food and service inside the zoo is affordable and pretty damn delicious. I was stuttered by the variety of things that the zoo has to offer and it’s got to be one of the best zoo i’ve been. I thought the whole trip was gonna take about 1 hour to explore but i was wrong. It took me 4 hours to finished everything because of the animals interaction up close and also their delicious food. I will definitely come back again. Both my wife and kid are very happy and we literally spend the entire day there with the animals. Also there is like a small amusement park sort of it. If you’re there best is to rent a car, it really convenient to move around. I will see you again Omoriyama Zoo! Thanks for showing me around

(Translated by Google) I stopped by this restaurant while on a business trip to Akita. The food and drinks were both delicious, and the ingredients were carefully selected! As if the course menu wasn't enough, I also ordered an oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl). 😋 The female waitress was very friendly, and when I asked for a sake recommendation, she answered without a word of complaint. It really felt like a cozy restaurant! I read in reviews that reservations were required, so I called on the day. Perhaps because it was raining, I was able to make a reservation easily. However, when I asked if I could order a la carte items, I was told, "We only accept course menus. We don't accept a la carte orders." However, I was able to order the oyakodon separately from the course menu. The person who answered the phone was a man, but I think it would be better if restaurants had a consistent policy. (Translated by Google) The food is delicious and gentle, lightly seasoned, and salty, without relying on chemicals and sugar. It reminds me of old-fashioned Kansai cuisine. 5000 yen for this course is incredibly cheap! I'm also happy that they use a lot of local ingredients. I think people who write bad reviews are used to the taste of chemicals and sugar and find it a little disappointing. The alcohol is a little pricey. I'd be happy if I could get a full 180cc drink for less than 1000 yen. Even so, it was still cheap enough for two people, as we drank about 10 glasses of sake and beer for 17600 yen. The service was really great!! I can't remember ever having such high-level service at an izakaya. I think the service is at the level of a high-class inn. It seems that taking photos with your smartphone at the counter is now possible without any problems. The counter is a little narrow, so it's fine for friends, but it seems a little difficult for entertaining or dating. I wish there was a restaurant like this in my hometown.

(Translated by Google) This is a well-known restaurant that has been loved for a long time. It was very hot that day, but the restaurant was well-air-conditioned, allowing me to relax and enjoy my meal. I wouldn't say I'm particularly picky about food, but I think this restaurant's flavors are different from those at other restaurants. It's a memorable flavor that reminded me of the time I came here with my father over 30 years ago! When I visited, rice, pickles, and a boiled egg were served free of charge. When I entered the store, I first bought a meal ticket, miso and spicy ankake from the vending machine. It's a popular restaurant with a capacity of about 50 people, but we had to wait for two groups to be seated. So, when I handed the food ticket to the staff member, he asked me, ``Is it okay if I get spicy sauce, it will take a little while?'' I thought to myself, ``It's too late now, just write it on the food ticket vending machine!'' Akita Champon is made by frying miso noodles until they are browned. The time difference between the bowls of miso and spicy ankake is about 10 minutes. I didn't understand why the store didn't go bankrupt. Salt can be ordered without the raw egg topping. Although it is an animal-based soup, the flavors of the shrimp, shellfish, and seaweed from the ingredients combine to create a delicious soup. The noodles are stir-fried medium thick noodles with a chewy texture. It's Akita-style Champon. I only choose salt, but miso and soy sauce are also available. By default, it has a lot of pepper and is spicy. The many ingredients such as cabbage, shrimp, squid, scallop strings, and wakame stems are filling and delicious. It is also topped with raw eggs. (Translated by Google) This is a ramen shop that has won first place several times in the Akita Ramen General Election, and is a substitute ramen shop in Akita. It originated in Odate and has several stores in the prefecture, including the Akita City store. Although it is called ramen, the signature menu items are the most popular chive soba and the second most popular Cantonese noodles, so it is different from the ramen that Tokyo people imagine. This kind of unusual ramen has a weakness in that you cannot know the taste until you try it, and you cannot imagine the taste from the appearance, but the chive soba tasted exactly as it looked. As you can see, the soup has a spicy chili oil-like flavor, and the egg makes the taste a little milder. The noodles are thin. The stir-fried vegetables are mainly chives and bean sprouts, and the pork is almost nonexistent as a decoration. The taste is ordinary, and to put it bluntly, it would not be strange if Hidakaya were to serve it. However, it is a ramen that suits the climate of Akita, which stimulates the appetite during the summer fatigue season and warms the body during the cold winter. It seems like it would be loved as soul food by the people of the prefecture, but for someone who is not a resident of the prefecture, once was enough, and it's not something worth lining up for. ALS is a bustling station mall with a diverse range of retail shops, international dining options, and souvenir stores offering local goods. Visitors can explore the 100 yen store for travel essentials and browse through clothing outlets and a nearby Muji store. The area is conveniently close to the train station, making it an ideal stop for travelers. Additionally, there are various food stores and connections to the train station souvenirs department where one can find delightful desserts.
A must-visit place to dine and buy souvenirs. Some stores don’t allow to take photos of video which is kind of awkward because taking photos and videos is one way of promoting their shop.

Izakaya restaurant
Japanese regional restaurant
Akita Kiritanpo Restaurant is an izakaya that specializes in serving kiritanpo, a popular local dish made of mashed rice on a skewer, toasted and added to hot pot dishes with seasonal vegetables and meat, especially chicken. This traditional winter delicacy originated as a snack for hunters and woodcutters but has become a staple in Akita. The restaurant offers counter seats or floor tables and provides an engaging experience by explaining the story of kiritanpo through picture books.
This is a very cozy restaurant, with very friendly and helpful staff. There is no English menu, but Google will help. The Kiritanpo Nabe was delicious!

I was unpleasantly surprised to be charged an extra 1000 yen just for the seat. Yes, it was written in the menu, but only in Japanese, and the staff didn’t inform me about it when I ordered. I don’t speak Japanese and I don’t translate every page of the menu with my phone – usually just the food I want to try. It left a really bad impression and took away the enjoyment of the visit.
Chmielewski T — Google review
I seriously have no idea how the food taste like.. but the service I do.. It's horrible. We were traveling around Japan and this is the first time I come to Akita and we wanted to try some Akita' food. I saw in a website which recommended this restaurant therefore we went to the restaurant around 1730hrs which is around 30mins after they open. The restaurant has a fine environment and looks like authentic farmhouse deco, which we wanted to experience this setup. My friend asked for a table for 2. And the lady directly say FULL in a rude tone. That's ok, I assume she doesn't speak much English and just use the word she know to inform us. However, the worse part comes next. My friend turned around and leave and I saw the lady gave a disgusted face to my friend behind his back. I am not sure if she doesn't want to entertain tourist or what. But that gave a really bad impression to traveller who came to Akita. We don't owe her anything and this is definitely not how we wanted to be treated. So, I really not sure if the food is so good that she is too arrogant or she plainly doesn't like to deal with non japanese or even not local. I been to Japan many times and this is not how the Japanese standard of customer service.

I've come to this restaurant as a European tourist so my review will probably only be useful to westerners. This was our first trip outside Tokyo/regular western tourist places in Japan. If you come here -and you should- you need to have an open mind and understand that the staff may not be used to dealing with foreigners. Be patient and they'll engage. I know I sound patronizing but bear with me. They offered us an English menu, but when they saw that we were eager to check the more varied Japanese one, they started pointing us to their recommendations. They seemed happy we were willing to try their dishes. The star dish is Kiritanpo nabe, a local specialty. I would call it a delicatessen. It is a stew that can be made with several different types of meat -we tried the rabbit and boar one- accompanied with other ingredients that I'll leave to your discovery and Kiritanpo, something akin to polenta but made of rice paste. It is like nothing you've seen at home but delicious nonetheless. Now, what made this place special for us was the genuine cultural experience. The staff seemed to be just as amazed as we were of being there. We had a blast dining here and although we could only understand each other through Google Translate and Lens, we ended up laughing together. A truly touching experience for those who want to explore what lies beyond the limits of mainstream Japanese megalopolises. I will come back if I ever get the chance. 100% recommended.

FONTE AKITA is a charming shopping destination that offers a delightful blend of quality and affordability, reminiscent of its predecessor, the Ito Yokado. Nestled in a building that once housed this general merchandise store, it stands as an accessible alternative to the pricier Seibu across the street. The layout reflects the typical design found in local city station fronts, making it easy to navigate.

On January 27th, a "kick-off event" will be held on the first basement floor of Akita Atrion in Akita City, and I applied and won! Since we didn't win the lottery for the new system presentation, we somehow managed to win, and of course we participated. The event starts at 2:20 p.m., and entry begins at 2:00 p.m. The morning's work was more exciting than I expected, and I left the customer just before 1:00 p.m. We ate lunch quickly and finally arrived around 2:40pm. The event had already begun, and President Iwase's greetings were almost over, and I managed to catch a two-shot with MC Shaba Dabao. After that, we divided into three parts and interviewed all the players. I was able to hear about my strong points and my goals for this season, both with laughter and with a serious look. The interviews with the new players are quite fresh, and I'm sure they'll be active this season! At the end, all the players appeared and the event ended with a greeting from Nakamura. This season marks the fourth year for J2. The goal is to enter the play competition. I believe that you will make it come true, and I will do my best to support you! The home opener will be against Sendai on March 16th. The next match is against Tochigi, a home match on March 20th. For the past two days, we have held an event to attract customers entitled ``10,000 People Support Project.'' We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible to help us achieve this goal. Udon noodle restaurant
Sato Yosuke is a small udon restaurant located on the 3rd floor of a food building in Akita. The udon here is thinner than usual, with a wonderful texture and great flavor. Customers particularly enjoy the goma dipping sauce and the delicious soup broth. The chicken soup udon with sliced chicken on top is highly recommended, although some find the chicken to be slightly chewy. Despite being a bit pricey, many visitors really enjoy this unique udon dining experience.
First time trying Inaniwa udon (flatter and thinner than normal udon) and it was delicious! Both dipping sauce complemented the noodles well, and I like the sesame sauce more. Tempura was light and not greasy. Overall a light meal and would love to return.

I went here again the next day after the Akita branch. It was even more delicious than yesterday. I didn't have to wait long to eat.

The beef bowl was absolutely delicious. Best tempura chicken. Staff are extremely patient and helpful. Would 100% eat here again.

Ordered the inaniwa udon with 2 sauces. Food: Inaniwa udon it the local specialty here. It's a very different, silky, chewy texture compared to other udon, and I enjoyed it with sauces. If you need protein, you can top up with some tempura. Service: The usual Japanese politeness, which is good. Tea is provided during the meal. Atmosphere: Mall atmosphere. Not many seats, so you may have to queue by writing ur name on a list, or go during off peak hours.

You can try both the one of the top 3 udon and chicken breed here. You’ll have to wait in line.

People say the udon is the one must-eat food in Akita. This place is small and on the 3rd floor of a food building. I ordered the chicken soup udon in regular size; it was thin type udon with sliced chicken on top, the chicken was so good but a little bit chewy. Overall, it tasted good but pricey for me.

We really enjoyed this udon restaurant. The udon is thinner than typical udon and has a wonderful texture and excellent flavor. I especially enjoyed the goma dipping sauce. The soup broth was very good and I loved the smoked daikon pickle.

Udon noodle restaurant
Japanese regional restaurant
Sato Yosuke Akita is a must-visit for udon enthusiasts, offering both cold and hot varieties. The hot udon stands out with its flavorful seafood-based soup and satisfyingly chewy texture. Additionally, the Inaniwa Udon, a local favorite in Akita, is a thinner and smoother version of traditional udon, reminiscent of Thai glass noodles or a chewier version of hor fun in Singapore.
We wanted udon and tempura while we were in Akita and this restaurant had solid reviews. It’s located in the Seibu department store right outside of Akita Station on the basement floor. It’s near to many other restaurants with similar offerings. We ordered the Hinai Chicken rice, cold soba with two sauces, and hot udon. All were delicious. My husbands favorite was the cold soba with the sesame sauce. The tempura was perfection and came with an assortment of vegetables (pumpkin, snap pea, and mushrooms) as well as a shrimp and fish tempura. Overall, a very solid meal.
Ema A — Google review
It was a nice udon place. If you like udon, please try. The noodle is quite thin compared to the udon elsewhere. I like the cold one better than the hot one. There is a cold with 2 sauces that should be better than what I ordered. The hot and cold with one sauce (soy sauce is as in the menu, we changed one to sesame they charged 70 yen more which was fair enough because 1. It was not on the menu 2. Other menu with the choices between sauces are 50 yens different). The tempura is mediocre.
Julin L — Google review
Worth the visit! Highly recommended. Tried the two sauce cold udon which usually the sesame sauce might not be on point, but this one was great! Also had the warm udon w tempura set, it tasted great too!
Joanna N — Google review
The cold udon was something I wanted to try while here in Akita and the hot udon was what I needed in the winter weather. Luckily they had a set including tempura! Service was great and both styles were delicious.

The best udon. It is a bit expensive for udon, but it is worth the price. Order a generous portion. The grated radish is delicious.

You can try Akita special, Inaniwa udon. Quite different from normal Udon noodle you think, but it's definitely worth trying. This place is pretty popular. Therefore, you might experience some waiting time, but the cycle runs fairly quickly since it's noodle dish, especially if you are visiting for lunchtime.

Good restaurant to try some of Akita's traditional foods. Quirky kamakuras to sit in and eat your food. English menu availiable on request. Food was very tasty. Also had a range of local beers. Located close to JR Akita station, it's easy to find....just look for the igloos at the front door

The soup stock was quite black and looked thick, but surprisingly it wasn't and it was sweet and delicious. The Kiritanpo itself wasn't as good as I had high expectations, but it was delicious as it soaked up the dashi soup. Hinai Jidori was also average, probably because expectations had reached its peak. The private rooms in the store are made into kamakura (a kamakura), and for someone like me who came from another prefecture, I was able to fully enjoy my first visit to Akita just from the atmosphere and the good customer service from the staff. (Translated by Google) (Visited in August 2024) Open until 10 o'clock. Luckily, we came in at 9 o'clock without having to queue (special opening on festival holidays). It is recommended to try the raw noodles and dry noodles separately to see the difference. 🍜Amibi 天ぷらセット¥1770 Raw noodles on the left, dry noodles on the right. The texture of the raw noodles is more like the common udon noodles, which are harder, thicker and chewier. Although I personally prefer hard noodles, I would vote for the dry noodles this time because they are smoother, thinner and more impressive. The tempura side dishes included two shrimps, pumpkin, eggplant, corn shoots and basil. They were fried a bit oily but the taste was okay. ❗️Surprisingly, the pickles were great, the cucumbers were super delicious, so delicious that the sister next to me kept saying her teeth were broken. There is another kind of melon underneath, which has a very special smoky flavor (it’s Akita’s special product “Iburigatko”). The mushrooms are also salty, sweet and fresh, and go well with rice (noodles). Even if you don’t order chicken or tempura, it’s still a good match. There are two kinds of dipping sauces for udon noodles: bonito soy sauce and miso sesame. The latter has a fish flavor that is pretty good. The tea was also very special, with a very strong and slightly bitter aftertaste, but I couldn't figure out whether it was buckwheat tea or black oolong.

There was a combination of dried and fresh Inaniwa udon noodles, so I thought it was interesting and ordered it. I had never eaten fresh Inaniwa udon before, so I was very curious. When it was brought out in front of me, the fresh noodles seemed a little thick. Perhaps because of this, the texture was not chewy but rather hard. If I had to compare it to something, it would be closer to Goto udon. When I ate them side by side, I felt that the dried Inaniwa udon was overwhelmingly more delicious. I was convinced that it was worth the time and effort to make it by hand from scratch, even though it is a modern day product. The manufacturing process is detailed on the Kanbun 5-nendo website, so it may be helpful. If it is stretched by pulling, the cross section should be round, but the process of finishing it into an oval shape, the air bubbles inside the noodles, etc. are unique to Inaniwa udon, and there is a deep technique involved. Museums
The Akita Museum of Art in Japan is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts. The museum, designed by renowned architect Ando Tadao, is dedicated to the works of Léonard Tsuguharu Foujita, showcasing a diverse collection of modern and contemporary art including paintings, sculptures, and ceramics. Situated in the heart of Akita city near Senshu Park, the museum offers an immersive experience through carefully curated exhibitions and installations.
Designed by Tadao Ando, part of the appeal of the museum is its architecture. There was a special exhibition by Kiborino Konno featuring woodcraft that mimics food. There is a cafe - shop overlooking the water feature on the second floor and offering views of the former Akita castle and park.

every japan northern city has a similar building which is the old central prefertural bank . This is our third one after 盛岡and 山形。 This is also surprisingly the smallest one . Free exhibits of the trading hall and lovingly maintained walls and ceilings. 大正 nostalgia all around

It's a fun spot with events regularly held, including "Akita Inu Station," where you can meet Akita dogs on weekends, restaurants serving breakfast, an art museum, and an exhibition space. The sounds of the street piano are pleasant, and the "Meguri Umbrella" umbrellas are very convenient for sudden rain showers. I hope the city center, including this area, becomes even more lively. (Translated by Google) It seems to be a facility located just before going to ``Hinai Jidori no Abeya-san'' in this area. Even though I have no sense of geography, it probably took less than 10 minutes to walk slowly from the station. There were various posters posted about business areas and local tourism, but there were so few people that I couldn't believe it was around 7pm on a Saturday evening lol. Are people looking at me as a tourist?! (I can't help it because I took a picture of the entrance to the museum after it closed with my smartphone in hand, haha) When I passed by the facility, I felt someone looking at me, and the moment I looked inside, I noticed that there were 7-8 people there. Castle
Historical landmark
Kubota Castle Ruins, located in Akita, Japan, is a former castle site that now features a rebuilt tower and a museum. Visitors can enjoy seasonal cherry blossoms and picturesque views of the city from the top level of the tower. Despite its smaller size compared to other castles in Japan, it offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with few tourists. The site is conveniently close to Akita train station, making it easily accessible for travelers.
It's highest place on 千秋公園 and can get great overviews around Akira city, inside this building is a lot of thing in Edo period.
Ngoc S — Google review
It was a pity that when we visited the castle, it’s a cloudy and rainy and therefore, everywhere was dark. But looking at the snow scene, it looked really nice. After visiting multiple castles here in Japan in the past, the size of this paled in comparison. It’s not a big one and inside, there was only a few levels available to visitors. The top level was a good place to have a birds eye’s view of the entire region. We were the only people there when we visited. Parking facilities were a bit of a walk though.

We had been in Mikawa Tokyo before so we really looked forward to try this in Akita. But we were all disappointed. The batter is too thin or inconsistent and the food quality is not high standard. The Anago was especially bad as there were still scales on the skin. The best item of the whole menu is the fresh & raw shrimp at the beginning. This is really bad. (Translated by Google) I was very satisfied with both the taste and the service. There are inbound tourists too. Even during Japanese holidays. My only complaint is that there is no need for seasoning lol. I recommend eating it as is. The ingredients are generally protein-rich, so salt and tempura sauce would actually overpower the flavor, so I think it's best to eat it as is. This is just my personal opinion, so if you want to season it, that's fine. You can also choose between a tendon or tencha, but either way the tempura will lose its crispiness, so I think it's better to have the tempura served separately.

I'd heard rumors that the quality was steadily declining, but it was true. I was surprised by the high price of alcohol, but the variety of food was limited, the quality of the food was not so good, and the salmon, which was the main dish, could not be ordered when I wanted it because there was no one to cut it. There was nothing else worth mentioning. I was impressed in many ways that they could charge 4,180 yen for this. I was so surprised that I didn't feel like taking photos... The breakfast was decent and a little comforting, but considering that it was more expensive than the nearby hotels, it was a bit of a disappointment.
