Restaurant
Zehnder's of Frankenmuth is a long-standing American establishment known for its family-friendly atmosphere and famous fried chicken dinners. Since 1856, this iconic restaurant has been serving traditional family-style meals to thousands of guests every year in its spacious 1,500-seater Heritage Room. The menu features generous portions of crispy fried chicken accompanied by delectable sides such as creamy mashed potatoes, egg noodles, and seasonal vegetables.
Couldn’t have asked for a better meal experience in the Frankenmuth area 🍽️😋. Food: 10/10. I went for lunch and the portion sizes are huge. We got the chicken pot pie 🥧 , the chicken schnitzel sandwich, and the chicken snack 🍗. Loved the pot pie and the chicken snack, I would recommend trying their chicken seasoning, and the schnitzel sandwich was good but had a lot of slaw. Their creamy cabbage slaw is really good (I’m not even a Cole slaw person) and their french fries are surprisingly great! Service: 11/10. I love how all of the servers have similar outfits to really set the theme. Our server was kind, quick, and knowledgeable. Bet part is they always let you know if things will be an upcharge and I am a huge fan of transparency. Atmosphere: 10/10. I didn’t snag a great photo of the interior but you walk in to a grand waiting area with plenty of seating (although it does get busy at times). With a reservation it didn’t take long to get a seat at all. The interior of the dining area itself is grand and the large booths make for a great dining experience. Overall I would definitely recommend this dining area to anyone in the Frankenmuth area looking for a tasty meal!

The fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had! Definitely come here when you're really hungry! We did the family style. It's a little pricy but it is all you can eat. There were soup and appetizers that consisted of cottage cheese, coleslaw, bread and butter, fruit bread and a fruit spread. Then the chicken was served with squash, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, and butter noodles. For dessert, they had soft serve ice cream. It was a lot of food and everything was so good! Highly recommend if you're looking for a good cooked meal! Our waitress was on it and quick. She had our drinks constantly refilled. Amazing food and service.
Jessica F — Google review
Wow this is totally not the quality of food that I remember. Visually, it’s still what we all remember, but like many of the other reviews… that chicken was gross. We tried to use the chicken seasoning on the table and that was more of something that you cook with and not what I would sprinkle on already made chicken. We tried both the fried chicken and the schnitzel and nope. When we left the restaurant, you could smell old, dirty frying oil In the air toward the rear of the building. All of the sides were good and what you would expect… the server was also nice… but what a disappointment as this was the main meal on our vacation up to Frankenmuth.
Jennifer A — Google review
Absolutely the best fried chicken I’ve ever eaten. Service is top notch! The chicken gravy could be soup of the day! Generous delicious portions! The slaw is great, the preserves were delicious! Highly recommended! The chicken was crispy and juicy but not greasy! Well seasoned, but a light sprinkle of the Zenders chicken seasoning kicks it up another notch! You can’t be close to this are without stopping in to see for yourself! It’s nestled in a beautiful little town with amazing scenery!!

Wow, what a fantastic experience. Food, service, and atmosphere were all top notch...amazing when you consider the size of the facility and the number of diners. Server was so pleasant and patient. Appetizers were unbelievable in numbers and quality, and the meals were scrumptious and plentiful. We messed up and didn't have their world famous signature chicken dinner. Next time for sure. Oh yes, go downstairs to check out the shops AND the bakery. Oh my:)
Paul J — Google review
I’d heard so much about the famous chicken dinners in Frankenmuth—and now I understand the hype! The unlimited chicken dinner tasted like a comforting homemade meal, full of nostalgic flavors. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy, and every bite reminded me of something mom would make. We enjoyed nearly every side dish, with the exception of the stuffing. The cranberry sauce was a standout—bright, refreshing, and infused with notes of apple and orange. The cottage cheese was fresh and creamy, and the corn tasted sweet and crisp—not canned. The fresh bread paired beautifully with the chicken pâté, and the other cheese and vegetable spreads were rich, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Every dish was well-balanced, never overly salty, and full of flavor. For just $30 per person, the quality and value were exceptional. My only regret? Not having more room to enjoy it all!

The BEST chicken dinner in Michigan. So much food, you will have lunch the next day. The Bakery is awesome. So many fresh bakes choices!

The amount of food you get and variety of items is always great. I'll have to try something new each time as an adult. The chicken, sausage, sauerkraut, sides and the (hard) strawberry cider all really hit the spot 😊 Sehr Güt!

The Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth, Michigan offers a German-inspired dining experience with a focus on using local and seasonal ingredients. While famous for their chicken dinners, the restaurant also serves up other flavorful dishes. Visitors can also purchase their jams, spices, noodles, and Moms Michigan Made Cookies online or at the restaurant. Dining at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is an experience worth having at least once in a lifetime.
What a great restaurant. Fantastic food, efficient/friendly service, old world German atmosphere! Our server Ben was super! We had a smoked chicken salad and The Frankenmuth platter (fried chicken, saurbraten, and weiner schnitzel) with a plethora of sides included (cranberry/apple, squash, buttered noodles, saurkraut, macaroni salad, coleslaw, carrot salad, chicken noodle soup, and ice cream for dessert!!!!) And the dark Barvarian beer in frosted mug was delicious. There was an accordion player wandering through the dining tables playing polka music! What a fantastic meal.

It was good. The atmosphere seems to be authentic. Wasn't expecting the servers to be wearing their outfits too. I had the famous fried chicken, pretty good. They give you A LOT of food, be prepared to eat. We tried it though this type of food is not our favorite. It was a fun experience.

We were just here last week for our mini getaway Oct. 2025 since we live in a different state. Drove hours to come back to this place after 4 years. Place still has the same ambiance and good food. Just very busy and needed reservations or else you'll wait for an hour to get your table. Place was packed with tourist as the whole town is a tourist place but we got our table after an hour and ordered our food so fast. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Still has the same flavor as years ago but prices went up a bit. We enjoyed every bit of it. Worth the drive & wait.

We came here as a group of 10, and the staff was so kind, they quickly arranged a great table where we all felt comfortable. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a traditional Bavarian/German style, which is honestly the coolest part of the experience and really sets the mood. The famous chicken dinner was very good, and it came with plenty of refillable appetizers, all of them were delicious! Our waitress was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal, making sure we had everything we needed. It’s a little on the pricey side, but overall, it was a really good experience and definitely worth visiting if you’re in Frankenmuth.

My wife and I visited the Bavarian Inn Restaurant in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and it was an experience to remember! This was my first visit (my wife has been before), and I can now see why she loves it so much. The famous chicken dinner was everything and more than I expected, crispy on the outside, juicy and flavourful on the inside, absolutely cooked to perfection. Every side dish that came with the meal was outstanding, but I especially have to mention the cold pasta salad, it was so good I had to go back for seconds! What makes this place shine is not only the food, but the experience as a whole. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a charming Bavarian feel that sets the tone for a wonderful meal. Our waitress was incredibly attentive, always checking in at the right times, and the food arrived hot, fresh, and in generous portions. From start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. I’m already looking forward to our next trip back to Frankenmuth, and another visit to the Bavarian Inn Restaurant is definitely at the top of the list!

F.B.I. (Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn) On the heels of Oktoberfest, I decided to finally review one of my all-time favorite German restaurants (and I am ~ 75% German in my DNA makeup so I have an affinity for their cuisine). This one needs some background story, so grab some popcorn and settle in. I used to work at this restaurant as a server for many years prior to my medical career. As a matter of fact, *everyone* in my immediate family has worked here, including both of my parents. And so I have a special connection with this spot. It is a 3 level behemoth of a complex with 3 floors, 7? dining rooms, and a complete suite of shops including your standard gift shop as well as a full bakery, wine, meat & cheese, etc. Frankenmuth is a very touristy town and Bavarian Inn and along with Zehnder’s, its sister restaurant across the road, they are the lifeblood of the town. A very busy enterprise and perpetually busy. They are most known for their all-you-can-eat fried chicken dinners as well as the assortment of German meats such as kassler ripchen, sauerbraten, bratwurst, weiner schnitzel, and more. My particular favorite is their chicken cordon bleu, which is a chicken breast stuffed with ham and swiss cheese, breaded & golden fried and served with a creamy white wine & carrot sauce. It is accompanied by potato puffs, which are basically tater tots but with mashed potato filling and cheese and then fried. It is so good and I have been eating this dish for 30+ years.

Very awesome place to attend if you are in the mood for entertainment and food! We are part of the birthday club which if you sign up ahead of time you receive a free family style meal! You can make reservations or wait if needed! But this is severed with beginning dishes main course and desert depending on what and how you order you can also single serve entries everything on the menu is fantastic having attended here since a child n now in my mid forties we have to come here at least a few times a year especially being roughly an hour away !

I don't get to Frankenmuth often, but The Bavarian Inn is my stop to eat. Great atmosphere, lots of people and a great vibe. Plus, the food is delicious. Great gift shop and desserts on lower level. Plenty of parking. Just drive around for a bit, and wait for a spot to open up.

Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen is a must-visit spot for those with a sweet tooth. They offer an array of fudge flavors, from traditional German black forest to chocolate raspberry, and even vegan and sugar-free options. Visitors can watch the fudge-making process and enjoy warm samples right off the table. The shop also sells caramel and other treats. The enticing aroma from outside draws people in, making it a delightful experience for fudge enthusiasts.
There's nothing better than fresh made fudge. The fudge here is simply delectable. There are a lot of flavors and they all taste exactly like what they are. The quality of the fudge is perfect. Not too hard, nor too soft, nor too chewy. The staff is helpful and watching the fudge get made is quite the spectacle. Plus, it's ridiculously affordable! If you know someone in your life with a sweet tooth, take them here!

We went in and were shocked by all the flavors that were available. They make it on sight, so the smell was delicious. You can purchase a whole piece or half piece. The staff were very helpful and very polite. You are able to taste before you buy. They also had some seasonal flavors.
Amy R — Google review
High quality and traditional fudge, not easy to come by now a days! This place is exactly as I remember it, the fudge is top tier. I grew up in Michigan and moved out west and I am usually not impressed with fudge unless it comes from Michigan… maybe I am a little biased or maybe the dairy and ingredients are just better. I had sampled a seasonal flavor, but it was the old traditional flavors that I ended up buying. I might have to get some shipped out west for the holidays this year!
Jennifer A — Google review
I appreciate the new flavors they offer. I have been traveling from upper state Michigan and skipped many fudge shops there to try their new pistachio flavor and it is worth it.

Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen had the friendliest staff and delicious fudge! The variety was amazing and the samples helped us narrow down our decision. All four of us ended up purchasing fudge mine was dark chocolate sea salt caramel! Yum!!

I was amazed at how creamy and silky this fudge was — I received it as a gift, and it was packaged & shipped, arriving fresh. I am from NJ, and I have to say this fudge is way better than anything I have ever had from shops along the boardwalks of the coast of NJ. You can’t go wrong with Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen.
Daria C — Google review
This place smells soooo amazing, and you can catch the sweet scent from outside, which lures people in. The fudge is very tasty. Ask to try some samples. The peanut butter fudge is creamy and has a great flavor. Also, they make fudge right in front of you. Go in to watch delicious fudge being made and stay until the end when they hand out samples of warm fudge right off the table. Don't miss that taste sensation! In addition to fudge, they sell caramel and other items. Enjoy!!
Donovan N — Google review
Oh, the smell of fresh fudge was so enticing that it drew customers in the store! And to watch the fudge being made on a marble slab was very mesmerizing. The Frankenmuth Fudge Kitchen was booming with visitors entering the store. Free samples were given out to entice customers to taste the goodness and freshness to buy. And buying fudge was what the customers did! There were many options, flavors, and deals. Choices, choices, choices! When in Frankenmuth, this is a must visit, even if it is just for a free sample!

The store also features a full bar where customers can enjoy drinks with amusing names while they shop. Visitors have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff, particularly mentioning the manager Stephanie and employee Noah for their exceptional service. Additionally, the establishment now offers hot pretzels to complement their selection of beverages.
We stoped here at Franks Muth for a drink while we waited for our table to be ready and we had the German Margaritas and would highly recommend! There were not too sweet and had a perfect balance of flavor. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. They had someone playing music on the patio area and there was a food truck, which we almost ordered from but then our table was ready.

Walking through downtown, we stopped to look for souvenirs. They have a lot of specialty themed items. They have a jeep section, a section for Bigfoot, so many themed socks, signs, a wall of hot sauces, hats, a section of popcorn and a bar. The staff were very polite.

I absolutely love Frank’s Muth Gift Shop in Downtown Frankenmuth! This place is such a gem and truly one of my favorite stops when visiting Michigan’s Little Bavaria. The variety here is unbeatable—whether you’re browsing for cocktails, fresh popcorn, hot sauces, socks, Jeep wear, or their quirky collection of ducks, you’ll always find something fun. They also have a great selection of novelty gifts, Detroit Lions gear, Sasquatch items, Jones soda, Michigan Faygo, and plenty of tasty bites. It’s the perfect spot to grab a drink, pick up a unique gift, and relax on the patio. A must-visit every time I’m in town!

Souvenir store
The Frankenmuth Cheese Haus is a must-visit destination in downtown Frankenmuth, known for its distinctive castle-like tower and extensive selection of nearly 300 types of cheese. This iconic circa-1968 cheese shop offers a nostalgic experience with an array of cheeses, kitchen utensils, desserts, and meats. While some visitors have expressed disappointment with certain products and the crowded store environment, many still find it worth exploring for its diverse cheese offerings and unique finds.
I couldn't bring myself to buy the chocolate cheese, but the gentleman that helped us find my savory Swiss cheese with veggie crackers... absolutely a kind soul. I love an approachable and knowledgeable person who takes the time to listen and then advise. This little slice of heaven is a must visit adventure for any cheese lovers.
Corinne — Google review
We have visited Frankenmuth quite a few times and we always stop in the Cheese Haus. They have such a large variety of cheese to choose from. They even had 16 year aged cheese. The prices have a wide range depending on the type of cheese you are getting. They even have chocolate cheese too. The store is not just for cheese. They had a wide variety of things. They have some beers on one wall. They also have some meat sticks and other meat snacks. They do have snacks, candy, and popcorn. They have souvenirs too. The shop has sliding doors which was a plus with a wagon. It is a little hard to get in if people are standing because you can only fit one line of people. The shop is a little tight but you can still get through if you ask people nicely to get by. Overall, it's a nice shop that is worth stopping in and checking out.

This past weekend my wife and I visited Frankenmuth, Michigan, and stopped at the Frankenmuth Cheese Haus. What an impressive store! The selection of cheese was vast, and the samples let us taste the exceptional quality before buying. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We walked away with Blueberry Cheddar and Cherry Cheese, just to name a couple, and a few pounds of cheese in our bag, worth every bite! While the prices are a little on the higher side, it’s the Cheese Haus, and the experience is absolutely worth it. We’re so glad we stopped in and will definitely be back.

The store is quite large and has so many things other than cheese. They have Walnut Creek items. They also have Cheese Hause preadmade dips, jams, pickled items, and sauces. They have a large refrigerated section of sodas and drinks. The cheese are in 2 refrigerated displays. I wish they had samples to try before you purchase. They also have candies and chocolates. They also had beef jerky and summer sausage. The outside has a seating area and a food truck that features Cheese Hause items.

I ordered the Honolulu personal pizza and it was HUGE. Everyone at our table got a personal sized pizza and nobody could finish it. This pizza was one of the top 5 pizzas I’ve ever had. (I did substitute red onion for jalapeño). The waiters were very friendly, they were able to accommodate a party of 9 and it was air conditioned. I am from Ohio and would consider driving back to Michigan just for this pizza. It was awesome.

Visited Frankenmuth as a road trip. We spent the day browsing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We decided to eat here after a long day of shopping. The restaurant was busy when we walked in, we were told there was a 45 minute wait for a table. But bar seating was available and we could order food as well! We decided to sit at the bar. The bar tender was technical and not really hospitable. He didn’t engage with those of us sitting at the bar. He did his job, and appeared to do it well. He made drinks, kept the bar area clean, delivered meals…etc. He just didn’t talk. I did hear the kitchen was backed up, so they were playing catch up. Which could be an indication of his mood. The food was good, atmosphere was great and we would visit again. I did have a concern as they had flies around the bar and had these fans sitting on the bar to deter the flies from annoying the patrons. They worked ok! I found myself swinging at flies with one hand and trying to eat with another. It was loud in the restaurant as it was busy and sports was on the televisions.

Gotta worst place to ever go to!! How do u screw up on 2 pizzas?? WTH. Others noticed as well. The 5th picture shows it too that the older folks did the same showing w their pizza folded that way is a respectable way and a secret insult to the cook. Never coming back!! Had bar high and with high expectations. Sadly they didn't reach it.

Great service, friendly and attentive. The Brussel Sprouts appetizer was great. In my top 3 for sure. The dried Cherry's are a nice sweet touch mixed with the tang of the vinegarette sauce on them. I had a personal pizza. Cooked just right, great taste. My son had a smash burger. He said it was really good. Cooked just right. The fries were great. Slight crunch to them just like we like them. And of course the Detroit City pop is always good. One of my favorite places when in Frankenmuth

Great place to eat if you don't have a lot of time but don't want fast food! There is a fancier restaurant on the first floor, but we didn't want to waste too much time so we went to Z Chef's Café which is downstairs. It is set up kind of like a cafeteria where you get your tray and order food as you slide it along the food-serving counter. We always have to accommodate our numerous allergies (milk, eggs, peanuts, and tree nuts) and there were options for everyone! Rotisserie chicken was delicious and they were able to make a side of veggies without butter. It felt like a home-made meal and the staff was very friendly and attentive. When we were there you were just supposed to leave your trays on the table and the staff would clean it up. Would definitely come back next time we're in this lovely town!

First time here. Husband got the 1/2 rotisserie chicken dinner, mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing. I got the 4 piece tender meal with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. Both our meals were cold, not enjoyable to eat at all. We mentioned to manager. They replaced my tenders, still cold, couldn't even eat them. We ate very little. Very disappointed in the whole experience and meals. Talked to manager, kind of shrugged his shoulders, said he was sorry, acknowledged it and that was about it. Will not recommend.

We eat here whenever we visit Frankenmuth exclusively. The food is amazing. The staff is polite but swamped. They have several stores and a bakery next door so you can slip right into shopping after a meal. We I have 8 and 12 year old daughters and it cost $91 for a family of 4 to eat. Extremely expensive considering you don’t have anyone waiting on you. My suggestion would be get more value from the experience. Maybe more greetings when you arrive or leave. Something to tie in being a patron. They do have wonderful programs for member rewards so check that out.

We frequent Z's Cafe. But our last two visits have us thinking something has changed with management and not in a good way. Portions are smaller to the point it feels like you are being cheated. Today the steam tables seemed to be either off or not working and the food was room temperature. My wife ordered the Plowman's dinner and told the man who served it that it didn't have enough chicken on it. He told her the portion was correct and if he added more there would be an upcharge. Because we went three times this week (my wife gets on a kick lol) and she got the same thing each time, she and I both know that the portion wasn't correct today. I got the chicken with gravy sandwich and the story was the same... An insulting portion for the price and cold on top of it. So needless to say it will be awhile before we go back.

If you don't have the time or the appetite for the full all-you-care-to-eat experience in the main restaurant at Zehnder's, then you should consider dining at Z Chef's Cafe. Exact same chicken; exact same sides; all the wonderful tastes of a Zehnder's Chicken dinner without it being too much. The mashed potatoes are like eating a cloud & the seasoning in the stuffing is divine. The chicken -- well, it's wonderful Zehnder's chicken. You too can be a part of eating the annual 900,000 pounds of chicken, 640 tons of cabbage, 180,000 pounds of mashed potatoes, 130,000 pounds of assorted vegetables, 40 tons of locally grown squash, 17,800 pounds of Michigan-roasted coffee, 26,000 gallons of ice cream, and 150,000 loaves of bread at Zehnder's!! Refillable drinks at the soda fountain.

After eating upstairs for the Sunday Buffet, we went down to the Z Cafe to get some Togo items. Huge selection to choose from. Stay and eat or take home. Either way it's Awesome! (Pics are from Lunch Buffet).

Breakfast restaurant
Honey B's Eatery is a delightful café located in a converted house, offering delicious homemade breakfast and lunch made from farm-fresh ingredients. The cozy atmosphere adds to the charm of this place, making it a perfect spot for a satisfying meal. Known for its farm-to-table approach, the eatery sources many of its ingredients from local farmers, ensuring fresh and high-quality dishes. Visitors highly recommend stopping by for breakfast, praising the flavorful food and excellent service.
My wife & I absolutely love Honey B’s Eatery and have recommended it to all of our friends and colleagues. It’s crazy to think that I haven’t reviewed it yet. (And I’ve been dining here since their opening in 2018.) From the first greeting to the last farewell, the service, atmosphere and food are all top notch. Our favorite server is Billy. He is kind, engaging and prompt. He not only brings the food & drinks, but stops to chat and always remembers us. The food is exceptional. It may sound cliché, but it truly is farm to table and made with kindness. Eat local. It just tastes better. And the indoor/outdoor setting is cozy and comfortable. Situated on Main Street heading up the hill, the outdoor and window seating offer wonderful views and the indoor seating feels like you’ve been welcomed into a friendly neighborhood dining room. I give Honey B’s Eatery the highest rating in all areas. Please venture in. I know you will enjoy it.

Popped in early on a Saturday for breakfast. The fresh homemade cinnamon roll was perfect. The biscuits and honey were just like grandma made. The food was fresh and well made. There is limited seating inside so get there early or prepare to wait. But it is worth it!

We heard all kinds of reviews that this is the place to go while downtown. They are usually super busy, and we waited for 15 minutes, with a typical wait time of an hour during the peak season. The food is delicious, including the elk sausage, with a unique taste. The staff was friendly and helped us with a dinner selection that was on point. Cash is preferred, as is a local small business, but credit cards are accepted. Parking is in the back.

First time checking out Honey B's, and we were very impressed. Get here early or you will probably have to wait, we had to wait a minute for another server to arrive which was fine and we got a great table with a window overlooking town. We ordered the Wild Game Bowl and the Honey B Hash. Portion size was very large, and everything tastes amazing. Always appreciate a smaller menu. Clean and welcoming environment, waitstaff did very well for such a small space and are very accommodating. Only negative is it is definitely "Frankenmuth prices." We wouldn't mind paying a little less for a little less food. We'll be back here.

Everything from the food, to the decor, and the staff was phenomenal. First thing I noticed when I sat at the bar top was most of (if not all) the spirits appeared to be from MI distilleries and the bottled/can drinks were from MI breweries. Their website also endorses that they use MI sustainable farming when they can. The absolutely delightful bartender (shame on me for not getting her name) suggested I start with a cinnamon roll. Originally, I declined but changed my mind and I am so glad I did! I followed up my breakfast dessert with the Billy breakfast bowl with braised pork. Both items were absolutely sensational! From my seat at the bar I also noticed a duck breakfast hash and blueberry pancakes come out. I can only imagine they taste as great as they looked. Even though Honey B's is about an hour away from me. I will gladly make the trip again one day and will be stopping in anytime I am in the area. I can't wait to try some more of their menu! Well done!

We arrived during peak brunch on a Saturday. We were seated for a table of 6 with in 30 min and had our food after ordering with in 20 min. The unique flavors and homey atmosphere made it feel like I was eating at my grandma’s on a beautiful fall day. The pancakes are the size of an adults head so just know you will be taking a box home to enjoy more breakfast later.

This is quiet little place away from the busy heart of Frankenmuth. We were the Saturday of dog bowl weekend. There was no indoor seating allowed that day but there were shady outdoor tables. The menu is quite limited (short) and was even shorter because at 4:30 pm some of the options (beef brisket, bison and cornbread) were sold out. My husband enjoyed the Michigan craft beer. The portions were small by American standards but the food was fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the spicy bbq sauce with the pulled pork. There is sadly no gluten free menu. The staff was attentive and friendly.

We had some extra time before the shops opened around town. So we settled on trying this quaint little restaurant. The famous cinnamon roll did not disappoint. But the main breakfast food was even better. We would definitely come here again if we get back up that way. The steak and eggs I had were fabulous.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Bronner's Christmas Wonderland, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Frankenmuth Aerial Park. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Christmas store
Gift shop
Bronner's CHRISTmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth, Michigan is a must-visit destination for holiday enthusiasts. This world-famous emporium spans 27 acres and is known as the largest Christmas store globally. Visitors can find an extensive selection of ornaments, lights, decorations, and gifts all year round. The store also offers Santa outfits, artificial trees, and themed ornaments to cater to every festive need.
Bronner’s is One of my favorite places in the world! I have been spoiled by the enormous amount of inventory in this place, no other Christmas store has ever compared. I think that I could honestly spend an entire day here if I was allowed. I ended up at the café when I needed a little break and decided to try the frosted sugar cookie and a soft pretzel with cheese. It was a little underwhelming , but I’m glad I finally tried the cookie after all these years. An ornament that I had picked ended up being chipped and the register helper went running with a mighty fury to get me a replacement from the sales floor. I had to travel back to California with my loot, so they people at the register made sure to wrap everything accordingly and I didn’t have anything break! I really enjoyed seeing the Hummel and Precious Moments collections, I think a lot of people forget about that back room where they play the video. 10/10 to the purchasing team- you guys always keep it interesting! I highly recommend visiting the silent night chapel at the corner of the property for a moment of peace.

Truly a magical experience. Everyone should go at least once. From the time you pull in, you are sent to Christmas by the beautiful, big decorations in the parking lot. The store is big and clean. The restrooms we designed with toddlers in mind as there was a big changing station with changing pads to use. We also located a family restroom on our way out. They have every kind of ornament that you could imagine & tons of little houses for your village. We enjoyed seeing the huge collection of Hummels and precious moments. I'm kicking myself for not taking advantage of the personalization room... I guess we havr to go back! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

today October 29, 2025 is the most unusual day that I’ve ever had it brown over the years. I have celebrate with the Christmas spirit through various activities they have attended but today of all days the most unusual happen the entire city of Frankenmuth lost power and it just froze the entire store. With my natural big mouth, I was able to stand by the West End men’s room door, helping the employees broadcast to the public they could hear my voice that the power was out eventually, we found it be the whole city and that they were trying to get the generator is working on the building so as a former EMT is part of my merge management training I had learned years ago through various activities through Red Cross through the actual state department, Homeland security and President Secret Service activities that I’ve been able to develop bank management plan so come tuition. I just opened my big mouth. Tell people who’s going on. They were very courteous. They were non-panicking and they listened and employees did a great job. personally I pray that people remember God‘s 10 Commandments, especially the commandment thus show steel finders symbol of Christmas of a great faith and for the love of Jesus, but it’s also a place where you can purchase gifts for giving not for Take and I hope that people remembered while they were in the situation not to steal or take advantage of this wonderful company that has been serving our state country for years my love to everybody at Bronner‘s are my special appreciation as they’ve helped me be part of Sanders’s helpers over the years and I’m just so grateful for them that I hope they continue many money many more years. I miss Wally. I miss his wife. They were wonderful outstanding people from making, and they really made a difference for every month. God bless everyone of you and merry Christmas.

This is THEE Christmas store of all Christmas stores! We spent 3 hours walking every aisle of Christmas ornaments and Christmas trees and walked out spending a few hundred dollars. There are more ornaments in one location than you've ever seen, and more! There are sections full of Christmas trees, decorations, a children's area, and also a section full of ornaments and stockings that Bronners will write names and dates on for you for free. Great place, would make for a wonderful yearly tradition to pick out ornaments for the whole family!

I had never been here before and had no idea how large it was. It has everything you can think of for Christmas. They also had halloween decorations up. The different christmas villages were so cute. Definitely spend some time to get ornaments customized with names and take pictures.

Should really be called a Christmas *Ornament* Superstore. And even then we struggled to find dated ornaments. They had a tiny section with annual ornaments but the selection was limited compared to the other sections. Most everything is blown glass or glass orbs. So if you’re looking for niche things or classic baubles, this place is it. Glad we stopped in but I don’t think I’ll need to go back.

Bronner's is the biggest and best Christmas store that I've ever been to. It has just about everything Christmas related that anyone could need. You could easily spend several hours there if you wanted to. Be sure to visit the 'Silent Night Memorial Chapel' on the southern end of the property (pic 4) as well. It's small but is very beautiful.

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Michigan, Frankenmuth Jellystone Park Camp Resort offers a year-round escape with various accommodation options including camper sites, cabins, and tents. The park features amenities such as a hot tub and pool for guests to enjoy. While some visitors found the standard sites to be somewhat tight with shared utilities and limited connectivity, others had an enjoyable experience with friendly staff, clean facilities, and plenty of recreational activities for both adults and children.
Great campground! Sites were spacious and most had a tree or two for shade. There were tons of fun activities scheduled for the kids throughout the weekend and they had a blast with the characters. The indoor and outdoor pools were a great bonus.

I visit this Jellystone every year and my family and I have a wonderful time. We visit on Halloween weekends and enjoy all of the fun things planned for the families. The only drawback every year is the staff. The front desk staff is fine but the guys on the golf carts are rude, condescending, and never friendly.

My family and I were spending the week traveling across lower Peninsula in Michigan and happened upon Jellystone and Frankenmuth as a place to stay for a couple of nights. This place was so great. We ended up extending our stay by another evening and canceling at one of the other locations just so we could spend more time. Staff here, super friendly, place is not huge but there’s a lot to do for the kiddos. A great place to stroll in the mornings, nice campfires in the evenings. And so much to do in Frankenmuth. We can’t wait to come back again!
Jimmy W — Google review
Location, amenities and service at the park was fantastic! Well kept and staff were so friendly. My only issue were the size of the sites. I felt like the photos and description online were a bit misleading. Much smaller than we thought. Sites are very, veneers close together in the regular park. I got a deluxe pull through that could fit an40ft rig and it could barely fit my 35' trailer hitch to bumper. If you have a 35ft+ trailer, get bigger than the deluxe sites.
Sarah S — Google review
A very large park with average sized full hook up pull through sites and some cabins. The Jellystone franchise is noted for kid oriented activities and this park is no exception. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, large, multi featured playground, etc. The park is located for easy access to the main part of Frankenmuth, like a 3 minute ride away. The bathhouse is clean and up to date and features push button showers. This prevents the kids from turning on the showers and letting them run all night, which I’ve seen at other parks. The duration of flow per push is adequate, BUT, there is no way to control the temperature, which was at a medium temperature. One temperature does not fit all since it’s a personal preference. Some of the shower heads needed to be replaced. The showers need a shower caddy to put your soap, shampoo, etc. That said, with full hook up sites the shower house does not get used much.
John D — Google review
I am very disappointed. I was on site 142 which is a pull thru site. The water and electric were on the passenger side of the trailer, about half way up the distance of the site. The sewer was on the driver side, close to the road. There was a tree so close that I had to pull way up the site in order to open my slide out. This position put my stairs right at the water and electric posts. I had my 88 yr old mother with me that uses a cane, I was so fearful that she would fall in the obstacle course. Of course booking the site doesn't tell any of this information. My sisters and their husbands came from our of town to see our mother and they were each charged $10.00 to get in. This is ridiculously outrageous. They sat at my campsite and talked. They did not use the pool or any amenities. What a rip off.
Amy T — Google review
This place couldn’t be better located, just on the outskirts of town across the street from Bronner’s the Christmas store. The girl at the desk even gave me a coupon book! Our site was in great working order, I am a glamper so sure I would have loved a paved patio or bricks but the gravel is well maintained, the grass is almost golf course nice, I have little dogs so yes this is important to me. Site was large plenty of room we are 36 ft and 3 slides awnings and a large truck. Not one problem with utilities. The only complaint I could think of the security guard sits at gate, why? Never saw anyone driving around but saw a man and a woman in uniform by office… but had they been driving around they would have seen the kids riding bikes with no lights no reflectors screaming and riding in front of cars this was from 7pm-10:30 at least. So much I had to tell a girl to stop yelling, she was riding her bike thru my site so my site my rules.
R S — Google review
For $90 per night, I expected more. Dirty and OLD showers with antiquated faucets and shower heads. Unsafe shower and bathroom facility with doors propped open on both ends. Minuscule sites with barely enough room for the awning to open before it hit the rig next to us. We were parked directly next to the rig on the end of a row. The entire rest of the row was empty for the duration of our stay. Why couldn’t we have one in the middle of the row or at least one site away from the only other camper in the row? And there was a really bright light at the end of the row that shone into our camper at night. The kids on motorized scooters and bikes were traveling at dangerous speeds, putting walkers in peril. We never saw any employees outside the office.

Military Museums
The Michigan Heroes Museum, established in 1987, is located in Frankenmuth and is dedicated to honoring the military and space heroes of Michigan. The museum showcases individual displays for celebrated heroes and astronauts who have represented the state in space exploration. It also pays homage to the Polar Bears, a group of soldiers sent to combat with the Bolshevik Red Army in Russia during 1918-1919.
Went here many years ago, and I wish i was a local guide sooner; so I could have given this review and posted the pictures then. For starters, this is not a huge museum, but it is filled with memorabilia from several wars. And helps tell the story of my veteran that came from Michigan. As well as astronauts. I would highly recommend this to anyone In the area! Frankenmuth Michigan as a whole was just a really neat place!

This place is a hidden gem of frankenmuth. We traveled here with a group of high schoolers on a field trip to film them for an upcoming documentary, and we were all extremely impressed. On display where artifacts, pictures, and most importantly stories of Michiganders, who fought in wars from our nations history. The tour guides there were extremely knowledgeable, and the array of items on display are very cool. In fact, they have an entire display of German and Japanese artifacts which were confiscated by World War II veterans. I highly a recommend spending time here. It’s off the beaten path of the main downtown area, but whether you’re a war buff or not, you will find it, inspiring and informative.

This was very cool! Our boys are all in WWII right now and this place honored all who served from MI in all wars and space. Mark, who was working today was very knowledgeable and he had a scavenger hunt the boys could do which made them look through and at everything multiple times trying to find their objects on their sheets. It helped them to stop and really appreciate everything while learning new cool things about history and humbling them for own fallen soldiers. I recommend this place!

Absolutely fantastic hidden Michigan gem! This museum has an amazing collection of military history, Michigan soldiers' stories, and artifacts and memorabilia. For me it's an absolutely essential stop on a Frankenmuth visit, and well worth a trip on its own merit! The staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the museum itself is well organized and well cared for. A fantastic place for researching a school project, brushing up on military history, or just spending a day learning more about the amazing things people from Michigan have accomplished.

Absolutely wonderful, informative and interesting museum. The staff told us about many of the displays and we didn't even have a tour scheduled. I would highly recommend this as a stop if you are in the area. There is displays for many various past and present wars and we learned about the Polar Bears unit. They also have Bingo cards available for young children to search for objects as they go through the museum.

We had an absolute BLAST at this place! As a family, we often do high ropes/zipline experiences for a family fun day or when traveling. I would say this is one of the more challenging courses that we have done. A great time and so wonderful to be able to hop right over to Frankenmuth downtown to enjoy shops and dinner right after. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed all the runs - our group was made up of parents in their 40's and our kids are 9, 12, 13 and 15 and all had a wonderful time! Highly recommend - a great day trip coming from Detroit!

Slo' Bones BBQ Smokehaus in Frankenmuth is a laid-back spot offering Southern-style BBQ dishes, craft brews, and live blues music. The menu features a variety of smoked meats like wings, pulled pork, brisket, and St. Louis-style spare ribs. Guests can also enjoy outdoor seating while indulging in the smorgasbord of flavors.
Went there for the burnt ends dinner. The burnt ends were not the traditional KC style that I am used to. They were big juicy chunks of brisket that were very tender. The house BBQ sauce was a nice touch. Hands down the best smoked meat I have had in Michigan. For sides I got baked beans that were amazing. They were loaded with beans and meat and tasted like they have been cooking all day. At the servers suggestion we also got the vegetable medley. I was a little skeptical, but they were good. Loaded with butter and seasoning and a nice char as well. Now let's talk about the corn bread .. WOW, they could serve this as a dessert. Light and fluffy, sweet with pieces of corn. All in all a great meal and well worth the $28 price. And if fed my wife and I.

I was in town with the family for vacation and stopped in for dinner. I was pretty excited when I read the credentials of the pit boss in the menu. I ordered the 2 meat combo, pulled pork and smoked sausage. The pork was luke warm and cold in the middle. If that wasn't bad enough, it was dry too. The smoked sausage was split in half and clearly reheated on a hot surface as the flat side was dry and approaching burnt. This place is surrounded by corn fields and farm stands selling excellent sweet corn yet they decide to use frozen corn on the cob that turns to a flavorless mush in the mouth. 3 adult meals and 2 kids meals came to $121. The best looking food on the table was the $5 PB&J. My 5 and 4 year old kids didn't even like their chocolate chip cookie. This place makes the "Mission BBQ" chain look like a 4 star Michelin rated restaurant.

Held our 35th class reunion there. Food was excellent! Annie made planning so easy and was very helpful with food choices. Our server Olivia was amazing and kept our glasses full all night. The room was perfect for the 30 people we had

Had the two meat lunch. Pulled Pork and sausage. Pulled pork had a orange tint, maybe seasoning? It was just ok. Sausage was good. BBQ sauce was good. Cornbread was ok. Hot mustard was good.

So disappointed!! We look forward to going here every year when we are in town! This experience has us questioning our choices thats for sure. Restaurant was rather empty on the night we were there. Maybe 6 people dining in. 7 of the tables were not cleared from the previous meal and remained that way for our entire visit. Ordered soup but it never came. Waitress admitted she forgot it. Probably because they were to busy cussing and joking with each other in the kitchen area. The food was still good but it could have been warmer. The portions of the food for the price are shocking now. Not much for alot of money and then to top it off, they charge you extra to use your credit card. With so many other options in town, I dont see us coming back. Slo bones, you are better than this!
Jason V — Google review
The waitress was nice, so nice it freaked us out a little bit, we had to ask more than once to get a sauce that had ran out on our table. The slo' platter was too expensive for the very little meat we got. The ribs were dry and kinda tough to cut through, not fall the bone at all. The steak that was ordered as a medium well, was brought as a very well done and even almost burnt. They forgot to bring us one of our cornbread and it was very dry. Overall, we had high expectations for this place and we left disappointed, the best part of it was the sauces.

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like La Crepe du Jour. Frankenmuth River Place Shops is a charming shopping center designed to resemble a traditional Bavarian village. With over 40 unique storefronts, visitors can explore the Alpine-inspired architecture and enjoy activities like old-time photos, gourmet cupcakes, and wine tastings at Modern Craft Winery. The shops offer a variety of experiences for families to enjoy while immersing themselves in Frankenmuth's European village theme.
This is a great place to stop and get a small taste of Bavarian culture. There is a covered bridge here which you can walk or drive over. There was also a restaurant near the lodge and the food there is INCREDIBLE! They can serve it in courses or you can get some of it All You Can Eat. Almost everyone has to take a to-go box with them when they leave

This city is simply perfect, it's always a 10 in every way. It's worth visiting at any time of the year, as there's always something new to discover. The city is charming, beautiful, and magical, with an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a dream. There are events and activities for all tastes and ages, making it ideal to visit with family or friends. The views are breathtaking, the strolls are pleasant, and the journey feels like you're inside a movie. The city has a special charm that makes you want to come back again and again.

Enjoyed a delicious fried chicken dinner. Came with all the sides of course. The coleslaw was tangy and delicious. The gravy, amazing. All the cheeses and breads and cottage cheese hit the spot. I’ve listed the menu here with the prices. It’s not for everyone. There’s is a lot of shopping in the walking area around the two main restaurants that serve the all you can eat chicken dinners. Great hotels to spend the night. Water park attached to the hotel. I’ve stayed in the past. Very nice and fun. Overall great for a weekend getaway or an afternoon.

I absolutely love the Frankenmuth River Shops! I make it a point to visit at least once a year, and each time is a delightful experience. This year, I'm especially excited for our trip; it’s the perfect small getaway for the family, filled with charm and activities to enjoy together. The atmosphere at the River Shops is incredibly inviting, set within the enchanting Bavarian-style town of Frankenmuth. Strolling along the picturesque pathways lined with vibrant shops is a joy in itself. There’s a fantastic variety of stores, each offering unique items, from handmade crafts to stylish clothing and local artwork. I always find something special to take home! If you're looking to indulge, the array of treats is impressive. From delectable fudge and homemade ice cream to gourmet popcorn and artisanal chocolates, there’s something to satisfy every sweet tooth. The flavors are rich and wonderful, making it hard to choose just one! What I love most is that Frankenmuth caters to both families and couples. Whether you’re enjoying quality time with your kids or seeking a romantic escape with your spouse, there’s no shortage of activities. You can explore quaint cafes, indulge in wine tastings, or relax by the river and take in the beautiful scenery. Prices at the shops are comparable to what you’d expect in a popular vacation town, but the quality and experience are well worth it. Frankenmuth River Shops consistently deliver joy, relaxation, and a sense of community that keeps us coming back year after year. Without a doubt, this place deserves a five-star rating!
Clinton H — Google review
A fun place to spend the afternoon! Lots of little shops to visit and explore. Snacks, drinks and food are all around. In a mixture of old world charm in a fun setting right on the river. They have tons of events that take place on the weekends. Reenactment, dog show, car shows etc.

An interesting and diverse shopping area...even for a grumpy husband. Loved the Bavarian theme. Shop keeper's were pleasant and helpful. Beautiful architecture and places to sit were adequate. ..clean and smoke free.
Paul J — Google review
20250711 A very dogfriendly shopping area with Bavarian theme. Some of the stores like the jerky shop and hot pepper shop can be found in other shipping centers. I came here specifically for cherry republic. I did find something in the cats and dogs shop. Otherwise, I pretty much enjoyed the Bavarian storefront. I wish this was similar to the Nelis' Dutch Village with German merchandise and German feel to it.

French restaurant
La Crepe du Jour is a cozy cafe located in the River Place Shops of Michigan's Little Bavaria, offering a taste of Paris with over 25 varieties of both sweet and savory crepes. Visitors can indulge in homemade crepes that transport them to a street side cafe overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Despite limited seating and occasional crowds, the fantastic service and delectable crepes make it a favorite stop for many.
I’ve never really had a crepe. This was all new to me. My wife on the other hand has had something similar 10 hours south of Frankenmuth in Carbondale Illinois. When I think of crepes I think of a sweet breakfast option. I didn’t know savory crepes were a thing. Please excuse my ignorance. I was a bit befuddled at the options until my wife chose a savory crepe. That made my decision easier. This was something to tide us over until dinner. My wife had the Mediterranean and I went with the ham and cheese. I tried my wife’s crepe and it was delicious! The decor was wonderful and the staff were great.
Joshua A — Google review
Unique place. Love how they decorated it to look like you are in a French town. Food is also unique, kind of lacking flavor, but we keep coming back because it's unique. Service is strange as everyone is wearing masks like we're still in the COVID times.
Jeremy D — Google review
Had the monaro (I think it’s called) so very good! Even had smoothie options and we had a sweet crepe with PB,Banana, chocolate for a dessert!! Very good and a cute date idea! Sunday wasn’t too busy but definitely expect a little bit of a wait, worth it because of the quality!
Ally E — Google review
Crepes are served in paper wraps and if you get anything with something gooey (chocolate, caramel, etc), expect to have it dripping out and all over you. Crepes should be served on plates, with maybe the option of the cone for those who want to walk around. There was an extremely long wait, longer than they said. They told me 20 minutes, it was 40. I only ordered one crepe. One of the employees in the middle of this long wait took 10 minutes to clean two of the crepe cookers. I get it, they need cleaned, but she showed no signs of trying to do it quickly/efficiently. She was laughing and talking with another employee which probably attributed to taking awhile. Saw her pick and choose out of the pile of crepes waiting to be cooked, not sure why as they should be made in order received. I’ve only had crepes one other time…and it was delicious. These were simply “ok”. Probably won’t be back.
Miranda — Google review
The crepes are served in a paper cone so just be aware. They were fresh and made fairly quickly. Tasted good but I do wish for an old-fashioned fruit style served on a plate.
Chad F — Google review
I had no idea this place existed but my cousin told me about it so we checked it out and wow am i so glad we did! The service was very good and these crepes are sooo good! They are legit and you can watch them be made and all! 12/10 recommend checking out!
Tyler R — Google review
I've been here ten other times, but my husband hadn't eaten here yet. We each ordered a savory crepe for dinner, and for dessert, we each ordered a sweet dessert crepe. They were alright. I don't recommend the Reuben Crepe, and I was so looking forward to it ☹️, so I hate to even say anything - but my thinly-sliced 2 pieces of corned beef must have been MICROWAVED LITERALLY TO DEATH because it was literally BOILING HOT and all wavy and curled up; it was almost hard as a rock. I could not even eat the crepe because the meat was so hard and hot.... but I wanted to taste the swiss cheese and the thousand island dressing, so I decided to remove the overly-cooked meat from it. It wasn't a Reuben without any tender, succulent corned beef, but the cheesy crepe was okay. On a positive note, the Strawberry Cheesecake sweet crepe tasted delicious. To the staff: please please look at your cooking process of the corned beef - I would honestly LOVE to give you folks another chance to make me an AMAZING Reuben Crepe! ♥️krissy

Olivia is perfect! She’s so good at what she does and I couldn’t be happier with my service. She’s so kind and professional; I’ve never been more happy in my skin than I was when I left her booth! I would highly recommend her to anybody! She kept the mood calm while also answering any questions I had and explained everything to me. This was my first facial, so she made sure to take the time to walk me through everything and I felt so well taken care of!

Justina was AMAZING!! She did a wonderful job helping with color choice. The experience was relaxing, enjoyable and rejuvenating. I drive an hour to come here for services to pamper myself. It’s always clean, relaxing, festive and just what I need for every season. I HIGHLY recommend visiting!

I had an incredible relaxation massage with Silvana! From the moment I walked in, she made me feel comfortable and completely at ease. Her technique was perfect—just the right pressure, super attentive to detail, and she really took the time to focus on the areas that needed it most. I left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and completely recharged. I highly recommend booking with Silvana if you’re looking for a truly therapeutic and calming experience!

I deeply appreciate professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail, and this spa exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the environment was calm, inviting, and impeccably maintained. The staff’s warmth and courtesy created an experience that felt both relaxing and refined. Laurie is an exceptional nail artist. Her precision, creativity, and genuine kindness truly set her apart. It’s rare to find such a perfect blend of skill and care. My first visit was outstanding, and I’ll definitely be returning to see Laurie again.

The half hour medium pressure massage was perfect for me. Katie seemed very knowledgeable and kind. She focused on my shoulders (specifically my right one, which normally carries a lot of tension) and used the perfect amount of pressure where needed. I really liked the orange oil as well.

Experience a taste of New Orleans at N'Orlins Beignets & Coffee, where you can savor the bold chicory coffee and indulge in light, heart-shaped beignets dusted with powdered or cinnamon sugar. These delectable treats come with an array of dipping sauces for added flavor. Located at River Place Shops, this spot offers a sweet escape into the culture of New Orleans.
My husband and I took a trip to for our anniversary and this was a highlight of our stay. Mama bear was so welcoming and sweet. I really value having great conversations and experiences. She added the cherry on top! Her customer service skills are outstanding & the food was absolutely amazing! The gator bites and the beignets are so delicious. I will definitely come back!
Michigan C — Google review
These are the most delicious beignets. You can get half a dozen for $11. There are a variety of sauces that you purchase separately. They are $2 a piece or 3 for $5. They had cinnamon, chocolate, and raspberry. I believe there was a 4th sauce but I cant remember maybe caramel. The customer service was great, she greeted us and explained the prices. It's a very small and cute shop that sells other things such as drinks and food too. Once you order, they make them fresh. They are super hot and loaded with powdered sugar. I got chocolate sauce with mine and it was so delicious. On the way to the car, I was craving more because they were that good. My kids loved them too.
Suzy J — Google review
This is usually my spot to stop on my way north or south. Love me some gumbo or jambalaya. This is the first time I’ve been disappointed. Jambalaya was really brothy, and just tasted like the gumbo, and the gumbo had way too much okra in it. It was super slimy, and this is not the quality I’m used to. Butter beers for $8 months were flat… Will try again on my next drive through. Spent $50ish on food and drink, and now as sorely disappointed. Did not finish the food.
Derek B — Google review
Loved the gator bites, they were cooked good and seasoned great. I had them with the Cancun dipping sauce; I definitely recommend. I also had gumbo, however the gumbo was not seasoned properly, I was quite disappointed ☹️ however the gator bites will make me purchase again! Only the bites for me through, I will pass on drinks, and soup. I did not try the sweets so I can’t give you an honest rating- other than they did look appealing and smelt delicious. The service was great 😊
Lashondp — Google review
An amazing little find. Located inside the River Shops right next to the arcade. On such a hot day, the cool, refreshing frozen mocha and bubble tea were so good. The beignets are fantastic as well and this is an absolute must stop if you are in the area.
Alex J — Google review
Food quality was ok flavor was good but there gumbo was a little slimy and I had a piece of bone in my gumbo.. a little crazy for almost $25 worth of food and a $5 tip. So be careful while chewing. It stabbed my gums and I'm lucky thats all it did.
Stranger R — Google review
Don’t waste your time or money. Went here yesterday and order gumbo(no shrimp or crayfish) a couple sausages and 1 piece of chicken. It was pretty much rice and it was so spicy. Gave me horrible diarrhea. I throw over half of it away. the gator I feel is false advertising as the picture on the menu shows a huge plate of it for $19. What I got was a tiny snack size box. I also order a fountain drink ($5). They wouldn’t refill it. So for $35 I got spicy rice soup, a couple pieces of gator and a drink. Would not recommend this place. We ended up going someone else to get more food.

Cass River Bar & Grill is a Bavarian-themed lodge located in Frankenmuth, offering 360 European-styled guest rooms, including whirlpool and family suites. Managed by the Bavarian Inn family, it features an adult-only pool and whirlpool, two gift shops, lounges, and restaurants all under one roof.
The employees here are really awesome. Most places like this the employees are rude and usually over worked. But, the two gentlemen working when we were here with our kids were absolutely amazing! Very friendly and helpful to our whole family. We normally stay at the Bavarian Inn. We have never been here before, but after our experience we will definitely be back!!
Brandi B — Google review
Food was standard, nothing to brag about. I feel like you eat here for the convenience of where it is. Price wise it costs as much as McDonald's so it was nice getting better food than just fast food. We did have a nice meal but eating area can get very loud and echoy
Ashley G — Google review
I was really disappointed with my visit to Cass River Bar & Grill. The food was incredibly bland and came out cold, like it had been sitting for a while before it even made it to the table. For the prices they charge, I expected something much better. It felt like we were paying for a premium experience, but got below-average food and no attention to quality. Everything was overpriced, and honestly, nothing about the meal was enjoyable. I left feeling like I wasted both my time and money. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.
Laura B — Google review
I recently visited Cass River Bar & Grill, and unfortunately my experience was not great. The staff member, whose name starts with B, was not very helpful or welcoming, didn’t answer my questions fully, and the overall atmosphere didn’t feel friendly or inviting. I would not recommend this place unless it’s a last choice. I hope this feedback can help improve the experience for future guests.
Dairek Y — Google review
Wow. I know good help is hard to find, but none of these employees seem to care about anything. 30 minute wait for cheese curds and chicken strips. There was 4 tickets total and it took that long. The cheese curds sat under the heat lamp for half that wait. Food is exactly what you'd expect, but twice the price.
Andrew T — Google review
Takes forever for someone to even come out and take your order, waited for almost 10 minutes with no one, finally placed my order only to wait even longer, and get cold food. They never answer the phone when called either.
Ryan — Google review
While there was no wait for a table, we ordered food here and it took more than 45 minutes to receive our food. And when it finally came out, the food was cooked but cold. I will never come back.

We've had plenty of cupcakes from SugarHigh since we live locally. Had such a great experience with our wedding cake in October 2024 that we decided to order my daughter's college grad cake from them in May 2025. WOW, did they do an incredible job with this design! She graduated with a bachelor's degree in interior design from Central Michigan University. I emailed them of a pic of one of her portfolio designs and they incorporated it beautifully! Couldn't be more happy with this cake! Thank you to the staff for being talented and pleasant.

Fantastic cupcakes! They won a Food Network challenge, I am not sure of the year. I have visited many times and have never been disappointed. Also, if you buy 18 Cupcakes, you get one free. This time I got a Tres Leche one for free and it was amazing. Picked up 2 maple bacon, a blackout, and a lemon cheesecake this time. 😋

Absolutely amazing cupcakes, that’s why I got my husband’s birthday cake from here and they didn’t disappoint. The cake turned out amazing! I also cant praise the staff enough, they are so kind and very friendly every time we visit.

I know I should’ve gotten a cupcake but ended up with a peanut butter cup, chocolate covered strawberry, and my kiddo got the triple chocolate gelato. Says it was the best ice cream ever. Friends got macarons and the quatro leches cupcake, all received raving reviews. So many dog treat options too. A pleasant surprise. Staff was superb!

My fiancé and I ordered a cake to find out the gender of our baby together from sugar high. It was perfect, everything I imagined! They were able to accommodate a flavor that wasn’t listed on their website for choices, we were so happy about that. When we booked our venue for our baby shower, at Warenhaus - right down the road, we knew we needed to have cupcakes from them too! They outdid themselves again! We had a lot of compliments on the flavor of the cupcakes and how cute they were! We ordered 5 dozen cupcakes and they were packaged easily for 1 person to bring back to the venue.
Angelique A — Google review
They did such a fantastic job with custom desserts for my son’s graduation party. They looked great and tasted even better!
Angela S — Google review
I’m so sad to say that the cupcake flavor did not live up to how beautiful they look. I got 4 cupcakes for a girls weekend and we split a taste of all of them. We did not finish the bites. They we not full of flavor as we all expected them to be. I was very disappointed. If you are looking for a beautiful cupcake you got it, but the taste did not pay off 🙁
