Historic Walking Areas
Yoshinogari Historical Park is a vast archaeological complex showcasing ancient ruins, artifacts, and reconstructed huts. The park comprises an entrance zone with video facilities and restaurants, a southern wing where high-level individuals are believed to have lived, a northern wing associated with the Kuni festival, a bunker settlement zone spanning approximately 20 hectares and featuring three areas, and the Ancient Hara Zone offering various recreations.
Very nice open air museum / park. The signs were translated in english and a nice volunteer guide came to explain some of the history of the place. I saw many families and I agree it's a nice activity for kids, they will love being able to enter the houses.

Yoshinogari Historical Park, Kanzaki-gun, Saga-ken Have you ever wondered about the fascinating history of Yayoi & Jomon? The yoshinogari archaeological site of excavation, preservation & ruins holds some unspoken secrets waiting to be discovered. Magama bead making-250¥ You can check their website for more information and programs. Website: yoshinogari.jp/en/

The park is way bigger than one would expect (maybe) and if you love history, certainly make your way out here. They even have workshops and I loved the one I joined because I love stones. Seeing the Yayoi life in the past was a good experience. You can walk around the park to check out the old houses and the ancient burial. There is a roving bus. There’s a big part of the park that’s good for kids (or so the guide at the community center told me because I didn’t explore that part). Worth visiting!

Wonderful for history buffs and those wanting to understand the origins of the Japanese people. Contrary to what many Westerners think, Japan is a country of people of various ethnic groups that has mixed so much….but held together by a national identity and hence a culture.
Roy G — Google review
It's an extremely large area. The train is about the same distance from Yoshinogari Koen Station or Kanzaki Station. I want to be prepared to walk steadily. It feels good when the weather is nice. You can learn about jar coffins. The experience center is also fun.
Youji N — Google review
Plentiful of open spaces and historical artifacts built to scale. A fun place for the family amidst nature. The park is huge. For a start, take the free shuttle bus to go round the park. Then select places of specific interest to you. Bring along food for a small picnic (there are also provisions for BBQ on site) as the restaurant maybe fully booked up. Enjoy!
Shirley N — Google review
Very cool experience for a visit to the museum or to just have a picnic in the park. The grounds are beautiful and they have daily activities that you can do for an additional fee. Also, they have multiple paid parking lots around the place. It’s huge so plan to do a lot of walking.
Kristin P — Google review
This area may not be considered as big of a tourist spot, but it has some unique areas. This archaeological site has been recreated painstakingly to show how the ancient people lived back then. For example, where the villagers kept their food, weapons and where they buried the dead. Despite being a little remote, this park is definitely a real deal!

Shopping mall
Shopping
Mallage Saga, the first shopping mall operated by Sojitz Commercial Development, opened in 2003 and has become a prominent destination in Saga. The mall offers a wide range of attractions including fashionable apparel shops, boutiques, a food court, discount stores, supermarkets, video game arcades, movie theaters and other entertainment facilities. Additionally, it hosts children's workshops every third Sunday of the month as well as concerts and other events.
One of the most visited shopping centers! I like it all the way!
Hasib — Google review
Saga’s longest serving shopping centre! Great place with a good cinema. Some major brand shops missing but still a great selection of shops and restaurants. It now has a new gym and a new restaurant opened recently. The supermarket is a little expensive but has good deals and a Costco area.

Unagi restaurant
Japanese restaurant
Honjounagiya Tobuten is an unagi restaurant that offers a dish called Hitsumabushi. One notable aspect of this establishment is the generous portion of rice served alongside the eel. Interestingly, the rice is presented on a separate plate, giving customers control over how much they want to eat with their meal. The volume of rice provided is substantial, even without making it larger. When turned into ochazuke, the dish becomes even more flavorful due to the abundance of sauce.

(Translated by Google) Steamed in bamboo steamer. It originated in Yanagawa and is common in Saga and Fukuoka, but not so much in Kanto and Kansai. The eel was fluffy and the rice was soaked in sauce and had a gentle flavor. Kinshi tamago is also carefully made. You can choose from two homemade dressings for your salad. Whenever I come to Saga City, I always come back to Honjo eel. There are two stores in the area, so choose one based on holidays. I don't get the impression that the taste differs much from store to store.

(Translated by Google) The rice is delicious, and the eel is soft and fluffy. The sauce is just right. The interior of the store is calm. The food served is delicious. This time, we have the eel bowl special. It had a lot of rice in it and I was pretty full. Takeout also available. There are Yamato and Honjo, but I like this one. This was my first visit to the Hyogo store.

Gentian is a flower that heralds the arrival of autumn and is a seasonal word for autumn, while eel is a seasonal word for summer. The seasons really do change. Even just this, the taste of the eel at this restaurant was beyond description. Even though it was October, I was sweating profusely while gazing at the gentian flowers and enjoying the delicious hitsumabushi. It's not that the restaurant's air conditioning is bad, I just sweat a lot (;_;)/~~~ It was well worth choosing this restaurant over the many nearby eel restaurants; it was so delicious! I was so lucky! Eating eel while traveling is one of my hobbies, and I often visit eel restaurants, believing that each experience is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but this is one of the few places I want to return to! The green tea was also freshly brewed, piping hot! (Translated by Google) There are three Honjo eel restaurants in Saga, and each one is very delicious, but I like the grilling and taste of this restaurant the best! ️ When I went there a while ago, I found that the meat was grilled in a way that made the meat more elastic than tender, and the sauce was rich and satisfying. This time, the eel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and although the sauce was a little less than before, it had an elegant taste and was well-cooked, which was also very good! Steamed rice has a fluffy finish and can be enjoyed piping hot until the end. Both the rice and the garnishes are delicious. Kimoyaki costs about 500 yen a piece, but I highly recommend it. The price is quite luxurious, but the satisfaction level is quite high!

I came back again to enjoy the technique of grilling the skin crispy over charcoal while keeping the inside fluffy, concentrating the eel's fat and flavor. This time, I had the large special bowl of rice with five slices of kabayaki eel. Thank you for the most delicious meal. I'll be back.

Yakiniku restaurant
Nestled about a 20-minute stroll from Saga Station, Sumibi Yakiniku Maruju is a gem in Matsubara, Saga City that has been delighting diners since its opening in 2011. This popular yakiniku spot is known for its high-quality meat and luxurious ambiance, featuring semi-private seating that enhances the dining experience. Reservations are highly recommended, especially on weekends when the restaurant buzzes with eager patrons.
You got to reserve in hand no to miss the food
Kifi T — Google review
High class atmosphere yakiniku in the humble rural Saga city. Usually people do reservations. The best cost-performance place i've been to. The meat is delicious and not that expensive. Real coals are used for grilling and not just gas. Beef tongue is my recommendation. Nothing to say more about the food. They are all great! One thing of a negative point is you cannot control the fire. It is just set to HIGH and some of our meat got burned because of it. I hope they have control for the grill for the customers. There is no parking space or i just cannot find it. There is coin parking beside it though.

(Translated by Google) First visit in a while. The staff's customer service was better than last time. I ordered the special jumori and tongue. Anyway, the meat is clean and of high quality. It may be too heavy for those who like red meat. I ordered extra red meat, but it was still of good quality with beautiful pieces. Alcohol is also cheap, so it's a place where you can enjoy Saga beef and alcohol at a cost-effective price. However, even when I called, the staff did not come, so I ended up with no food or drinks. I would like to see improvements in that area. But I would like to go again.

(Translated by Google) If you come to Saga, this is a must-visit! Reservations are essential! A last-minute trip to Saga! ✈️ I asked a friend from Saga for a recommendation, and he said Maruju was a must-visit! So I quickly made a reservation! ✨ I asked if they had any openings for two people, any time on the weekend, and they said they had one at 5 PM, so I made a reservation right away. 😚 It's just a short bus ride from Saga Station. It's conveniently located for tourists. 🥰 The clientele seems to be mostly locals. ✨ It's surprisingly clean and different from the yakiniku restaurant I imagined (sorry! 💦)! We were shown to our table right away and ordered right away. 🐮 I looked at the menu and was shocked by the prices! 🫢!! ️ But surely, the portions are a little small, right? I thought, so I ordered a few things! ✨ But then I was shocked! ️ The amount of meat they brought out was enough for two people! 🤣 I almost thought I'd ordered the wrong one! 🤣 It's beyond amazing value for money, it's just amazing! 🥹 The prices, including the drinks, felt like I'd traveled back in time to the Heisei era, and even though I'm usually a light eater, I ended up ordering too much.💦 👍Thick-Cut Premium Tongue It was chewy and not just a single portion! Delicious with just the right amount of seasoning.😋 👍Aitchbone and Zabuton Both had plenty of marbling, but the beautiful marbling made it easy to eat as many as you wanted.🐮 I think I prefer Zabuton.😚 👍Thinly Sliced Shabu-Shabu Beef with Ponzu Sauce Excellent value! I quickly seared it and enjoyed it with ponzu sauce.♪ The fat from the meat and the refreshing ponzu sauce were a perfect match, and I was debating until the very end whether to order a second dish (lol). 👍Yukke You could choose your sauce, but I thought the first one listed was probably the standard, so I went with the salt sauce! The salt sauce was topped with cherry tomatoes instead of raw egg, which at first seemed disappointing🫤, but after tasting it, I understood why they don't serve raw egg with this salt sauce⭐️ The vegetables included garlic foil-roasted🧄 and shiitake mushrooms🎶 The scallops were also plump and delicious~😋 The final dish was of course cold noodles! The noodles were chewy and springy, and even though I was full, I somehow managed to keep eating them! The service was quick and the service was attentive, so there's no reason not to go back next time I'm in Saga! I'm so excited to plan another trip to Saga just to visit Maruju🥺⭐️ I'll definitely be back‼ ️ (Original)

(Translated by Google) Visited by reservation from a friend in Tokyo This is a restaurant that he had a close relationship with when he worked in Saga City in the past. My friend also visited for the first time in a while. I was surprised that the interior had been renewed. I had a reservation to go later that day, so I picked some. It seems that not all of the meat is Kuroge Wagyu beef, and you can choose the region of origin as stated on the menu. In the case of Saga beef, it was labeled as Saga beef, and the skirt steak was Kuroge Wagyu beef, but it was not from Saga. Beef tongue prices have skyrocketed in Tokyo, so I don't know of many restaurants in Saga City that serve Saga beef tongue. Even Yorankan, a yakiniku restaurant directly managed by JA Saga, uses American tongue. We started with the Kuroge Wagyu beef skirt steak, which you can't go wrong with, and it was as delicious as expected. Next up was two dishes of Saga beef recommended by the restaurant. Beautiful marbling is attractive. There was an explanation of the parts, but I don't remember them. I want you to put a tag with the name of the part on the meat (make a note of it! lol) The taste of this kind of meat changes considerably depending on how you grill it, so I recommend grilling it fairly rare. Is there any female meat? I asked the store, but they didn't have it. (I'm a meat lover who pays close attention to the male and female) I didn't feel like eating the tongue because it was from America, but the owner recommended it as delicious, so I ordered it. The result was quite good. Please note that the taste of Yakiniku changes depending on how you grill it. It won't taste good if it's not cooked over a certain high heat, and overcooking is the worst thing.

Champon noodle restaurant
Located near Saga Yamato Interchange, Asuka Yamato is a breakfast spot that opens at 7:30 am. They serve a delicious dish called champon, which consists of stir-fried meat and vegetables in miso soup with pork and vegetables. It is recommended for those who prefer noodles in the morning over cooked rice. The breakfast set meal is known for its generous portion size, so customers can expect to leave satisfied.
(Translated by Google) I ordered the Nagasaki specialty, jewel-chanpon (Chinese fusion noodles). The sautéed pork bone broth was delicious. The kids and I also ordered a ramen set with pan-fried dumplings and rice. The ramen broth had a rich pork bone flavor, which was a bit too meaty for me, but it was delicious! The noodles were also very chewy! I don't know why the rating is so low 🤣 I recommend it if you're passing by.

(Translated by Google) I ordered "Ramen" for 750 yen (tax included) with firm noodles during my lunch visit. The large pork slices were an eye-catching visual, and other toppings included wood ear mushrooms and spring onions. The soup was thick and rich with a sweetness. The straight, thin noodles with a low water content were firm and had a good texture. The amount of noodles was small, and I don't think it would be enough for a man. Extra noodles were 150 yen. If you order extra noodles, the price goes up to 900 yen, so I don't think it's particularly good value for money. The large sign outside the store read "Champon Ramen Asuka." There is no dish called "Champon Ramen," but the store serves champon and ramen. This sign is misleading.

However, this made the soup seem thin to me, which was a bit disappointing. (Original)

It's a bit disappointing... (Original)

(Translated by Google) I visited this place because it tasted different from Nagasaki Champon. It's certainly not a seafood soup, but a mixed (?) soup that is recognizable as pork bone. The ingredients barely contain chopped satsuma-age, but there are no other seafood products, so it was delicious in its own way. Apparently wood ear mushrooms are a specialty, but wood ear champon is 350 yen more expensive than simple champon. So I think it would have been a great decision to order a large serving of simple champon (900 → 1010 yen).

Moreover, the first one is a picture of Yu39, lol I have to pull myself together and work hard... So, when I was thinking about where to go, I realized that I wanted to eat that ramen for the first time in a while, and since I always see notices on X (old Twitter) that it's closed and sold out, I checked X,... What? ? It's been closed for a while now... So, thinking about other things, ramen is a must, and I also want to eat fried rice, but I also feel like eating katsudon,... So I went there!! “Asuka Yamato Store”!! It's located a little south of Yamato Interchange, and the parking lot is spacious and easy to use!! I parked my car and went in!! I sat at a table by the window on the left side of the store, looked at the menu, and ordered... “Eiryumen + half fried rice + mini katsudon and champon” The champon arrived before I could wait!! I got some from my lover and ate it, it was a pork bone based soup with the sweetness of vegetables melting into it, it was delicious!! Then, the katsudon and fried rice were served at the same time, and a little while later the Eiryu noodles arrived! By the way, I think I read in some document (an online blog or something) that Eiryu noodles are a rich pork bone soup, the name of the shop when they used to have a shop in Furuyu, and a revival version of the ramen they had on that day, but I'm not sure... So I started eating right away!! First, I took a sip of the soup... Ohhhhh, it's delicious!! I couldn't stop slurping the noodles with my chopsticks...it was irresistible... And as a Karikalist, the back fat in Yu 39 is irresistible...I would have preferred it if it cost extra... And then the katsudon!! Even though I waited for the ramen, the rice was piping hot lol, a pleasant surprise, and it was delicious, I couldn't stop eating, irresistible, the fried rice was also fragrant and delicious, I couldn't stop eating the spoon, irresistible, After finishing the noodles, the usual, no, the other side of the winning formula, Pork cutlet bowl, soup, fried rice, soup, pork cutlet bowl, fried rice, soup, fried rice, champon soup, pork cutlet bowl, champon soup, fried rice, soup, pork cutlet bowl, champon soup, pork cutlet bowl, champon soup, I had finished eating and drinking the whole thing in no time (only the soup of Eiryu noodles)!! (Translated by Google) It's been quite a while since I last visited. The service... how did it end up like this? I'm sure they didn't mean any harm, but it's still bad. Maybe I should think about it from the customer's perspective. Especially if it wasn't busy. The taste was the same, it was a delicious champon with a punchy pork bone flavor. I understand that the flavor is lighter with the special and wood ear champon, but it might be better if they made it stronger, or increased the amount of soup so the ingredients could soak in it more easily. I used to like this place and go there often, so it's made me think a lot. Saga Castle Park, located in Jonai, Saga City, is home to an art museum showcasing a collection primarily composed of artworks by local artists and modern paintings and sculptures. The museum also features a permanent exhibition dedicated to the works of Okada Saburosuke, a renowned Western-style painter. Adjacent to the museum lies a serene castle ruin nestled within a tranquil neighborhood.
Saga is an extremely modest town, clearly no foreign tourist around when I visited. But it hides a jewel! Saga Castle was absolutely amazing. While it is a reconstructed castle, you really get a vibe of ancient Lords' life. The story of the reconstruction is also extremely interesting. I really recommend a visit if you're in Saga!

A quaint castle ruin to visit. Nestled in a very quiet neighbourhood, it was so serene we were afraid to make noises 😄. Most part of the castle was destroyed, the main entrance and some buildings remain standing. Some old cannons placed around the castle for photo taking. Majestic pine trees surrounded the park.

Saga Castle is a fascinating place to explore, especially if you’re interested in Japan’s history. The main palace has been beautifully reconstructed with wide tatami rooms and displays that give a great sense of life in the Edo period. I didn’t notice a moat, but you can climb a stone wall via a staircase and get a nice view over the surrounding area. The grounds are peaceful and well kept, and the whole place has a quiet charm. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Saga.

A beautiful and precious Japanese traditional castle to visit, and learn modern Japanese history change. Awesome.

What a surprise that I had while visiting. It's a huge castle (flat without a traditional keep) that was rebuilt with traditional technic and method. It contains une beautiful exhibition about the Saga domain Lords and their part in modernizing Japan at the beginning of the Edo period. English Information and audio guide are available. The entrance is free but the ask for a contribution.

Saga Castle Ruins, located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, is a reconstruction of a 17th-century wooden castle with a rich history. Originally known as Saga Ryuzoji Castle, it was later renovated and renamed by the Nabeshima family. The castle's unique flat land construction included a mechanism to draw in water from the moat during attacks, earning it the nickname 'sunken castle.'
A really cool castle site! Most castles in Japan are reconstructed to look flashy rather than being historically accurate so I was very happy to find this restored properly! (All Samurai castles in Japan are reconstructed as they were formally destroyed in one order) It was very interesting with information to the cattle and it's history, including important people of saga. The entire site is huge. Only a portion was restored but it's still plenty to see.

I came to Saga on a rainy day from Fukuoka and this castle did not disappoint. It’s a reconstruction of a lord’s wooden castle and the big hallways and tatami mats throughout really make it feel impressive. Walking on tatami in your socks feels great. The people working at the castle were very friendly and even called out a very nice Japanese man who speaks English to take me on a tour and explain the exhibits. They also have an English language audio guide they loan out since most exhibits are only in Japanese. I think Saga is a smaller city that probably doesn’t get too many foreign visitors so it really felt like they appreciated my visit. Well worth a trip.

Tucked away in the heart of Saga, the castle ruins offer a quiet, reflective break from the pace of modern Japan. While little remains of the original structure, the elevated stone foundations give a real sense of its past scale and presence. From the top, you get peaceful views across the city and surrounding greenery — especially beautiful at sunset. It’s not crowded, which makes the atmosphere even more serene. Worth a visit if you enjoy history, open space, and a moment to slow down.

The building itself is stunning, featuring massive tatami rooms that are truly impressive. Given the free admission, this museum is absolutely worth a visit. The fact that there was no waiting time even on a Sunday is a pleasant bonus!

I actually wasn't able to take the free tour as it was after hours but I was still able to walk around on the castle grounds. Even that was a fun time. Beautiful architecture and view of the city from higher up. You can tell it is maintained very well. The Saga Castle History Museum is a well-presented attraction that features a reconstructed main keep of the original castle built in 1838. As one of Japan's largest wooden reconstructions, it showcases maps, models, and hands-on exhibits from the last years of the Edo Period. The museum provides access to historic exhibitions about local history, nature, key figures and life depicting among others.
I learned so much of the history of Saga. The volunteer guide that accompanied us was fantastic!!! My son who is a history buff got much information from the guide. Everyone there was friendly. Learned the role Saga played in relation to Nagasaki as well as involvement during Meiji uprising. We spent 4+ hours. The “castle” is beautifully restored and one can’t help to wonder the planning and logistics involved in building this castle. There’s no charge for admission or the docent.

It's sad that saga castle did not survive the passing of time, the years of neglect, and the numerous fire incidents that eventually brought it down. This museum however encapsulate a great deal of the history surrounding the castle and the region of Saga. A lot of valuable national treasures are enclosed here and valuable history on the first vaccination in Japan, innovations in railway, and the first most advanced school on western education in Japan. The heritage of the Naomasa clan lives on and I am in awe of the history of this place which largely goes unnoticed by most Japanese folks today. Also, a particularly interesting activity to partake in is the digital photography in fictional outfits of the Edo era, the outfits are selected randomly and I was lucky to get the Samurai outfit ^_^

The Saga Prefectural Art Museum is a modern art museum that has been open to the public since 1970, commemorating the Meiji Period's 100th anniversary. The building itself is another excellent example of brutalist architecture, designed by Teiichi Takahashi and Yoshichika Uchida. The museum showcases an extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, and crafts from modern and contemporary eras with connections to Saga Prefecture.
I was pleased by the variety here for a museum of a small city and prefecture like Saga. This museum had a lot of interesting exhibits showing artifacts and the cultural history of Saga as well as a selection of quite good paintings by Saga-based artists both in Western styles and in traditional Japanese styles. Most exhibits are only in Japanese but that’s not a big deal. Definitely worth a visit.

Huge park with some some interesting playground equipment shaped like a tractor, a boat, and one of the most epic slides I've ever seen. There's drink machines and restrooms also available. Good spot for a picnic and you can view the ariake sea from the other side

Cool views of the mud flats and free "big eyes" to use to see all the birds and mud guppies. Playground is mostly metal slides that are too hot to use in the summer. Water play are is closed due to COVID.

It’s a nice place. So quiet and peacefully. Check the state of the tide before going.

(Translated by Google) I went there on November 1, 2025, just before lunchtime. There were more people than usual because of the Shichimensou event, but there was a temporary parking lot so I didn't have to walk far. There were about 10 stalls and a variety of events. The Shichimensou flowers were in full bloom on the tidal flats, which was very soothing. I'm sure it's tough for those involved in the conservation efforts, but I hope they continue to work hard to preserve this landscape. Saga Airport is a small airport located in Northern Kyushu, Japan. It serves as an affordable alternative to the larger Fukuoka Airport for those traveling to and from the region. Despite its size, Saga Airport offers a hassle-free experience with minimal wait times, making it convenient for travelers. The airport features a charming gift shop offering unique souvenirs from Saga and the greater Kyushu area.
I’m truly grateful to the Tigerair ground staff for their kind assistance when I had issues with my hotel key and luggage. Their help and clear guidance gave me great comfort and peace of mind during a stressful moment. Thank you so much!

Modern and clean airport served by ANA. No airport lounge but a contract lounge (can be used with most Japanese premium credit cards) available.

AVOID Daily Sky (Duty Free Shop) in this airport. The other (there are in total 2) duty free shop has better prices and Daily Sky will not accept refunds. Terrible service from the staff of that store as well. Mostly friendly and efficient service from others though.

This airport is pretty small and depending on the destination and airline can actually be more affordable than the bigger nearby airport of Fukuoka. People departing from this airport are advised to come 30 minutes prior to their flight there is that little of a wait. There’s almost no hassle getting through this airport. The gift shop is amazing and offers a lot of offbeat souvenir options from Saga and the greater Kyushu area. One of my favorite vending machines I’ve found in Japan was one in this airport selling dried seaweed from the area.

U can enjoy the clean and cozy airport lounge for free herein, if you have a particular gold creditcard. Without them, you are to pay 1,100 JPY for use. Otherwise, there seems nothing special to say about here, despite some little restaurants and gift shops. .

The Mietsu Naval Dock Ruins, a designated World Heritage Site, served as a ship repair facility commissioned by the Saga clan during the final years of the Edo period. Constructed using Japanese technological prowess, this site is adorned with various remnants that pique curiosity. A visit to the adjacent history museum offers a comprehensive understanding of its rich past and overall significance.

Afterwards, you can learn about the history and the overall picture at the historical museum in front. What we recommend inside the museum is to watch the CG big screen screening of this dry dock. (Translated by Google) Opinions will vary as to which of the Satsuma, Choshu, Tosa, and Hizen clans was the best, but there's no doubt that the Nabeshima clan was pioneering. This relic is surely one testament to that. It's often said to be a disappointing tourist destination...and it's true that there's nothing tangible to see, so perhaps that feeling is inevitable. However, that feeling may be similar to feeling disappointed when there are no buildings at the site of a castle. The history museum opposite was recently renovated and is well worth a visit. Sano Tsunetami, who was instrumental in the founding of the Japanese Red Cross, was from the Hayatsue area and had been watching ships since he was a child, so he must have made a significant contribution to the Naval Base. (Translated by Google) First visit in August 2024. There is no parking lot on-site, so if you go by car, it is recommended that you park at the "Sano Tsunetami and Mietsu Naval Yard History Museum" next door. Therefore, it is better to navigate to the history museum rather than navigating to the Mietsu Naval Yard on Google Maps. The reason is that if you navigate to the Mietsu Naval Yard, you will be guided to a narrow road on the embankment and will end up behind the history museum. It is better to enter the history museum from a different route. The Mietsu Naval Yard is composed of three areas: the "Boat Shop Area," the "Practice Area," and the "Repair Area," and most of the structure has been understood through excavations since 2009. In particular, in the area called the repair area, it has been confirmed that there was a dock called a "dry dock" where ships are built and repaired like today. The area is close to the Ariake Sea, and is an area where the Ariake clay layer is deposited, so it is not hard to imagine that it would have been extremely difficult to drive pine stakes by hand at the time when there were no heavy machinery. This is only a guess, but the Saga Domain was the one that led the "land reclamation project." Perhaps their civil engineering technology was put to good use. Excavations at the site also unearthed wooden blocks that supported the ship's hull. Unfortunately, as this was a military secret at the time, the details are currently unknown, but it is believed that there was a gate. (Without a gate, it would not have been a dry dock.) As for drainage, unlike today, there were no electric pumps at the time. It was explained that the tides were probably used. (According to a volunteer at the history museum.) The tidal range of the Ariake Sea is actually 6m. Looking around, it is smaller than I had imagined, and the ships that were repaired and built were smaller than those of today. This is thought to be because the shogunate had limited the size of ships at the time. It is now just a riverbed, but the boathouse area still has a boat dock that is thought to be a remnant of that time, and fishing boats are moored in the distance. By the way, it is said to be the "oldest existing dock in Japan," but since it was buried before it was excavated, it is not "still in existence," so that's not an accurate description. It is merely a "remain." It seems that new excavations will be carried out soon. I hope for new discoveries.

Nestled in the serene mountains of Saga Prefecture, Japan, Kiyomizu Waterfall stands at an impressive height of 75 meters and spans 13 meters wide. This enchanting waterfall is a haven for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility amidst lush greenery.
A picturesque walk to the waterfall with lots of greenery and the sound of trickling waters. Nice to be able to walk right up to the waterfall basin and have a photo shoot. If the waterfall basin is larger it would have been perfect. We also visited a mystical Buddhist temple next door - Hochiin 宝地院.

There are two parking spots close by one is a little bit closer but smaller and only has space for a handful of cars. We parked in the bigger parking lot and walked uphill for maybe 200m before we got to the gate that leads into a forest area with a beautiful bridge and the stairs to the temple. This is route 1 and leads to the temple first before continuing to the waterdall. The stairs are somewhat uneven so you have to pay attention when climbing up to the temple. Same goes for the stairs that lead down from the temple to the waterfall. The second route is not as steep and in way better shape. It seems to be a little easier and more people used it. The waterfall itself was very beautiful and children were playing in the refreshing water. It was perfect for a hot day!

It's a beautiful waterfall roughly 150m or 300m from the road depending on the route taken. There are free parking lots and restaurants on site.

There are 2 ways to go to the waterfalls, 1 is through the temple, which I don’t suggest older people do, we had to climb so many stairs! My asthmatic self was wheezing throughout! But the temple above had a calming serenity because of how untouched and run down it was, and looking at all the Gods placed everywhere even made it breathtaking! 2nd way of accessing it is the one that leads you right where the waterfall lands, easy access! The area around the waterfall looks completely hidden, like it’s a town’s secret! So no tourist info or signs in English.

Yakiniku restaurant
Yorankan, the yakiniku restaurant, offers an exceptional 500 yen hamburger lunch that is limited to only 50 meals per day. This meal is highly regarded as the best choice on their menu. It's a worthwhile experience that one cannot miss out on. What sets Yorankan apart from others is their generous option to refill the rice, which is unusual in today's dining scene. Not only does it taste phenomenal but also leaves customers wanting to return every week.

Once I got inside, I was able to order the hamburger lunch, which is limited to 50 servings. I waited excitedly for about 10 minutes, and it was brought to me. The hamburger steak came with side dishes of warm vegetables, French fries, raw vegetable salad, miso soup, rice, and takana pickles (provided on the table). You could choose the amount of rice: large, regular, or small, and you could have seconds. There was also hamburger sauce on the table, and when I poured it on, the hot plate sizzled, and the sight, aroma, and sound all suggested it was delicious. Now it was time to try it. I was worried that the sauce would be too strong, but it wasn't. It was well balanced with the meat and had a strong meaty flavor. It felt like I was tasting the meat, not the sauce. (My taste) For 500 yen, I was worried that this quality would be a loss. There were some delicious-looking sweets on the menu, and even if I ordered one as an add-on, I thought it was still a great value. The restaurant is a long-established establishment, so the facilities were a bit worn, but it was well-cleaned and comfortable. I'd like to visit again and try the steak set meal next time. Ramen restaurant
Noodle shop
Ramen Ichigen is a renowned noodle house in Saga Prefecture, known for its yobimodoshi-style ramen made with pork bone broth. Visitors often find themselves waiting in line, but the turnover is fast, allowing for quick seating. The shop's signature dish features rich soup without the use of lard or backfat, topped with grilled seaweed and dried seaweed. Despite the popularity and occasional wait times, many patrons find the experience well worth it.
Super delicious! First the soup is thick but not as salty as other famous chain ramen shops, so it's great to drink the soup! Second the noodles, it's cooked perfectly, not too hard nor too soft. Third the seaweed (nori), its a famous local product and must try! Soak it in the soup for 30 seconds and enjoy the flavor of the sea. Fourth the pork, its amazing! Balanced fat and meat, chewy and well flavored. Lastly, a persistent owner that works very hard for the perfect taste, it's the best ramen I've had in Japan, must try!!

(Translated by Google) I went to Saga Ramen "Ichigen"! At the first sip of the soup, I immediately knew "this is different". Even though it's pork bone based, it's not heavy at all, and the flavor is strong, so I drank it all without getting bored. The homemade noodles are also perfectly combined with the soup, and the more you chew, the more delicious it becomes. It's also great that it's piping hot!! It's rare to find boiled eggs that are piping hot! And I recommend the seaweed! It's not just a topping, it's flavorful, crispy, and fragrant, and it further enhances the perfection of the ramen. The gyoza had a crispy skin and was juicy inside, and it was a taste that went well with beer. It was a bowl of ramen that was really carefully made, and you could feel the attention to the ingredients and preparation. It's easy to see why it's loved by the locals. Listen up, Saga! It's been a little over a year and a month since I became an official tourism ambassador, or ambassador, for Saga City. I've been mainly introducing ramen restaurants, but there's one incredibly popular ramen restaurant that I was blown away by when I visited it about 10 years ago. Since my job in Yu39 is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday, the ramen restaurant is also closed on those days, so I thought it would be difficult to visit during my term, but time passed. (However, I have been to the main branch and Nishou branch of Omukae-san in Kumamoto several times...←a desperate excuse lol). The owner of the restaurant was also at a drinking party I attended on the 1st of this month, so I was hoping I could somehow go. While casually looking at the ramen restaurant's September business calendar on their Instagram, I noticed that they were open on Tuesday the 23rd, which is the autumnal equinox. A super rare opportunity has arrived!! So, on the long-awaited day, I left my yard (home) just after 9am and headed there!! "Saga Ramen Ichigen." ! @sagaichigen We arrived around 9:50 and got P.P. lol Today is a holiday, so Rei's is closed, so No. 1 and No. 4 joined in too... While we were waiting, the chef came out, so we said hello and chatted briefly, and I was so excited! After some time had passed, the chef came out again and asked Rei's if she wanted some water since it's so hot outside, and he gave her some cold water, which Rei's happily drank! Thank you so much! Soon it was opening time, and when I looked behind, there was a long line, as expected! When I entered the store, I purchased from the ticket machine on the left... "All-toppings + Rice & 4 Gyoza Set + Rei's Ramen and Gyoza" We were shown to a table in the back, sat down, and after a short wait, we arrived! It was time to eat! First, I took a sip of the overflowing soup... Mmmmm... so delicious!! So irresistible... I couldn't stop slurping the noodles... so irresistible... The shock I felt 10 years ago was brought back to me... The char siu was my favorite type, and absolutely delicious!! I was slurping the noodles excitedly, so accidentally the egg yolk cracked and spilled into the soup, so I quickly mixed it with the noodles and slurped it up... Guaaaah... this was so good it was almost unfair... the egg yolk... (because it's an egg yolk...) I tried various things, dipping dried seaweed in the soup and wrapping it around the noodles, or mixing it with fresh seaweed like I was enjoying it, and finished the noodles!! I layered the green onions, seasoned egg, and char siu on top of the rice to create the ultimate chuunibyou special char siu seasoned egg bowl, savoring the broth and sipping it to the fullest, and before I knew it, I'd finished it all in no time!! Thank you so much, Chef!! When talking about Saga, the name "Ichigen" comes up in unison. The restaurant has parking for about 10 cars. We went before lunch, and there was a wait of about three groups on a weekday, and we were able to enter in about 10 minutes. The space has a comfortable atmosphere with just the right amount of tension, and you can feel the owner's commitment to ramen. The atmosphere is definitely great. I had heard that ordering seaweed was a must, so we ordered two types. The ramen arrived in the bowl. The seaweed was incredibly delicious. The pork bone soup could be said to be the origin of pork bone broth. A traditional flavor different from that of Hakata or Kurume. It was worth the trip all the way to Saga. If you like ramen, I think it's worth coming to Saga just to eat Ichigen. This time we ordered the sara udon and egg rice bowl, both of which are our favorite menu items at this restaurant. (Translated by Google) June 14, 2025 A colleague from Saga told me, "If you ever go to Saga City, try the champon or katsudon at Marutoku, near my parents' house. It's absolutely delicious!" To fulfill this mission, I took a junior colleague and headed to Saga. We took our usual route, over the Mitsuse Tunnel, and entered Saga City. Driving in Saga City is so fun because the roads are so straight. As we exited the city and entered the downtown area, the scenery changed to rice fields, but the roads were still straight. As I was driving straight ahead, thinking I'd reach Saga Airport, I spotted a restaurant on the right with a fluttering banner reading, "I'm in the mood for katsudon today." This was the recommended restaurant, "Marutokugawa Fukusohonten." When I entered the restaurant and looked at the menu, the cover boasted "Our Most Popular Katsudon" and "Our Signature Champon." Naturally, I was in the mood for katsudon, so I ordered one. My contrarian colleague ordered a tempura bowl. Isn't that a katsudon?! After a short wait, the katsudon arrived. My goodness, a katsudon topped with a generous amount of runny egg. The sweet broth and delicious egg. The katsu was oily, but still light and enjoyable. My colleague, who chose a more expensive menu than me, also ordered a tempura bowl topped with shrimp tempura and a runny egg, just like my katsudon. It's unusual to have an egg in a tempura bowl. "It's delicious," my colleague said. "Is that all you want?" I chimed in. Another mission from a coworker: "My calligraphy should be on a screen in the restaurant, so go and take a look." I looked around the raised floor and couldn't find it, so I gave up and headed to the bathroom, and then I found it on the same line. The screen said, "The broth is flavored with Rausu from the North Sea." Haha. Mission accomplished. Amazing experience! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming even with the language barrier. And the museum has interactive exhibits, hot air ballon flying simulator, vibrant movies and great photo spots! I would recommend this for anyone in the area.

Museum is quite small. Other than the simulator, there's really not a lot to engage and interest non-Japanese speakers.

There is an entry fee of ¥500 which you could purchase at the ticket machine before going into the museum hall. There’s a mini theater that you could watch a video montage of the yearly Saga Ballon Festival before going up to the first floor where you could learn all the history and events that led into the establishment of Saga Ballon Festival. There’s a multilingual digital guide for each sections that requires you to scan the QR code for you to read it. There’s also a mini hot air ballon stimulator that you can try. There’s a guide video and the staff is more than happy to help you out. There’s a souvenir shop that you could buy souvenirs, postcard, sweets, snacks and drinks. It’s an ideal place to visit for a day trip. You could either take the bus or walk for about 10-15 minutes from Saga Station. There’s a lot of shops and interesting places that you could discover when you walk or cycle along the streets going to Museum. It’s also close by to a few historical attractions places that you could easily have access too.

Former Koga Bank, now known as Saga City Cultural Museum, was established in 1885 by Zenpei Koga and grew to be one of the top five banks in Kyushu by 1919. After serving as a chamber of commerce, it has been restored to its original 1916 design. The museum is located in the Nagasaki Kaido Yanagimachi Scenic Area and offers a glimpse into the history and folklore of Saga City.

Easily accessible by public transportation from Saga Station. It’s a nice place to visit if you are in town for a day. The building itself is the original architecture of the Former Bank and when you go inside there’s a mini exhibition. They also added a build in cafe for visitors to come and enjoy their lunch there. The street/road area itself is a tourist hotspot because all the popular tourist spot attractions are situated next to each other. You could literally walk around the area itself to explore and while you were there, try to spot the little Ebisu statues that is located in almost every street and road in Saga City Area.

欧風カレー 白山文雅 is an informal eatery that specializes in curries and offers a retro European-style ambiance. Patrons can enjoy delectable Western-style curry, although the establishment lacks parking facilities and the portion sizes are quite small. The restaurant has fine music and delicious food, but diners may find themselves still hungry after their meal. It is recommended to have a light snack before visiting this establishment to avoid overspending.
I went there for the first time in a while and it was as delicious as ever! The style of serving has always been innovative and exciting, and it's worth the price. I highly recommend it.

The curry was delicious! I chose the menu with two curries and both tasted unique and rich. They also have craft beers that change every day! It was fun to try them. The Ambiente leans towards fancy. I was a bit confused by the french-restaurant look but it was recommended to me and I'm glad I gave it a try. They also have sealed of portons to take the by the looks of it.

(Translated by Google) This spicy noodle specialty restaurant is located on the first floor of the K-5 Building in the Hakusan Meitengai arcade in Hakusan, Saga City. It opens at 7:00 PM and specializes in evening meals. The restaurant offers counter and table seating only. While there is no dedicated parking, there is a paid parking lot directly in front of the restaurant. As a ramen specialty restaurant, naturally, "spicy noodles" are the main menu item. The thick, milky chicken-based soup can be adjusted to a spiciness level on a scale of 0 to 25. You can choose from three types of noodles: egg noodles, konjac noodles, and udon noodles. Toppings include chives, beaten egg, pork, and garlic. While large portions are not available, refills are available, and various toppings are available. Other noodle dishes include "spicy tomato noodles," "super spicy dandan noodles," "salt ramen," and "mazesoba." This restaurant also offers a wide variety of side dishes, alcoholic beverages, and snacks, making it a unique nighttime establishment. This is a ramen and izakaya restaurant that's perfect for finishing off a meal. Opened in December 2013, this restaurant is part of Imari Co., Ltd.'s food service business, and appears to be expanding its reach into Fukuoka and Kumamoto prefectures. Recently, they've also opened a ochazuke specialty restaurant in Saga City (which has since closed). However, as other reviews have mentioned, the cold, almost neglectful attitude of the staff is a bit of a concern. A new ramen restaurant opened in this location in June 2025. So is this the reason they're closing? Thank you for your hard work. Shabu-shabu restaurant
Kira Honten is a refined Japanese establishment that specializes in serving Wagyu beef and teppanyaki for both lunch and dinner. The restaurant offers an exquisite selection of Saga Beef, including the Saga beef yakiniku lunch set, sukiyaki grill, and Saga tataki. Despite the limited English spoken by the staff, they are friendly and accommodating. The location may be a bit challenging to find but is well worth it once discovered.
When you're in Saga, you have to eat Saga beef. My first meal was at this place. They were so friendly, seeing I was alone, they gave me a private room. The meat was so tender, the atmosphere was great, and it was delicious.

Dined in and ordered the 9800yen Saga beef shabu shabu set for two. Total 19600 + 400 yen for orange juice. Cannot help but compare this to Kisoji in Tokyo/Kanto that we sometimes visit. Personally, I would say Kisoji is significantly better in all dimensions. Food quality, service and ambience. The only thing that is good here in my opinion is that you can choose Saga beef which we did and it does taste good. (Kisoji beef also taste great, btw) Other than that, the service is just okay. We had to clear our soup of scum ourselves whereas Kisoji would do it for us. The atmosphere is just like a standard restaurant. The general food quality is also not great (except the beef). Disappointed with the sesame sauce too. Think it is just so so overall at least for Shabu Shabu. Might come back for YakiShabu as wife loves the Saga Beef.

Excellent Saga beef shabu shabu for under 10,000yen. The set comes with an appetizer plate, 4 big slices of beef, mixed vegetables, rice, miso soup, dessert and a drink of choice. Note that there is a minimum of 2 person portion order required for shabu shabu. Service is slightly lacking compared to other shabu shabu places of similar level (eg other places will at least cook the meat for you, clear out the scum, cook the vegetables, etc) There is free parking available right outside the restaurant.

Shabu shabu with saga beef! We enjoyed our dinner at Kira Honten, which is known for its high quality beef from Saga. A nice and warm place for enjoying saga beef under snowy weather Restaurants have many set meal for different part of beef or saga beef around 2000-5000 yen per set with soup, salad, rice and dessert Highly recommended saga beef set or single item saga beef (4000yen per 100g) We have ordered saga beef and another beef set. The taste of the saga beef was outstanding and absolutely delicious which huge different with other beef. Saga beef taste even mask the taste of the sauces and anything else

Five star Saga beef! The beef is perfect, melt in your mouth wagyu beef, even the cheaper one. We've tried all price points/levels and impressed in all of them... even the cheapest one here is better than the expensive beef at home! Lunch meal sets have best value, come with salad, miso, rice, dessert and coffee or tea. Highly recommended. Service is good. There are English menu, hooray! And the servers can speak usable English. A lot of parking spaces on premise.

On a quiet Tuesday, I travelled from Fukuoka city to Saga for this wagyu restaurant. Arriving at around 11:30, there was a note in front of the door saying it's full and you need to register with the reception (this was what I guessed as the English translation on the paper is a total mess). I registered and got my seat very quickly though I had to share with two other people on a table for eight. The lunch set I had was Saga beef loin which was top quality but the portion was a bit small which I guess maybe about 80g. There was a lot of veggies and mushrooms together with rice and miso soup. At the end, a small coffee and desert were served. Overall, though the lunch was not cheap and the decoration is rather basic, I would still think it's value for money unless you cooked yourself.

Water & Amusement Parks
Marchen Mura, a whimsical amusement park designed with a fairytale theme, is suitable for children from infants to lower grades of elementary school. Visitors can purchase a ticket that allows them to ride six paid vehicles for 1000 yen and enjoy many free playsets all day long. The park also features areas where parents, grandparents and other visitors can rest and relax. Additionally, there is an animal feeding corner available for visitors' enjoyment.
Underrated find for families with young children! Planned only as a short stop off on the drive from Nagasaki to Fukuoka, we ended up spending a few hours here and wish we could have stayed longer! Soo much for our little ones to explore - from ball pit, to a show, to indoor play areas, to rides and a train! Even though the facilities are quite old, everything was clean and the food was great! So family friendly and well thought out! Highly recommend to check it out for families with little ones!

Uh… it’s… special. It’s a little theme park that got stuck in the past. No renovations or anything since then, but that kind of makes it fun. (Translated by Google) I visited on a weekday after the summer holidays. This was my first time visiting, so I don't know how crowded it is on weekends, but it was very quiet and nice (lol). All rides are 300 yen and require a ticket system. I recommend the 1000 yen card, which lets you ride six times! It's also very convenient because you can share one card. The pool requires one ticket or one stamp. Adults don't need a ticket or stamp if they don't use the pool. The pools are separated into two sections, one for children 3 and over and one for children under, so even small children can play safely. Children under 3 years old must wear swim trunks. The pool itself isn't very large, but it's shallow, so it's safe to play in. Float rentals are 100 yen, and beach balls are available for free. Almost all QR codes are accepted at the entrance and the shop! Be careful, though, as the restaurant only accepts cash. I didn't have much cash on me, so I left and went to a nearby 7-Eleven (lol). The restaurant had a wide selection of menu items, including light snacks, summer specials, and dishes featuring Saga beef. There's an air-conditioned rest area right next to the restaurant, where you can enjoy your meal at your leisure. However, since the indoor playground is also in the same building, children's voices can get loud on weekends. There are benches in the rest area, so it looks like you could take a nap (lol). There are also massage chairs. You can also feed the animals. There are three types of food, all 100 yen each, and cash only is accepted here. It was my first time feeding the squirrels 🐿️, and they were so cute. Overall, I think the park is aimed at preschoolers and early elementary school students. There's an original song playing throughout the park, and it's stuck in my head (lol). All in all, you can play all day here. I'd like to come again. This local amusement park is wonderful. [Admission Fee and Amusement Tickets] Admission is ¥1,200 for adults, with an additional fee for children 3 and over. Annual passes are also available. Amusement rides are available in advance as a ¥300 single-ride ticket, or a ¥1,000 (six-ride) ride passport, which is handed over at the boarding area. There's no expiration date, so the six-ride pass is by far the best value. Lol. You can also use it when entering the pool area. (Ages 3 and up) [Pool] *The pool in R7 was open until September 15th, but just for reference. Children up to two years old could enjoy themselves with just the swim ring fee (¥100). Separate areas for each age group ensure safe play. The covered area protects children from direct sunlight. Toys are provided in the area for children up to two years old. Coin lockers are available for valuables. There were plenty of chairs and tables. There's also a (slightly old) restroom nearby. [Lunch/Break] A large indoor playground and dining area is located a short walk up a steep hill. This is a very comfortable spot during the sweltering summer heat. The snack bar sells curry, udon noodles, potatoes, shaved ice, and more. There's also a microwave. Some people bring their own rice balls and baby food. [Playground] There's a covered area, so it's perfect for rainy or hot days. (Trampolines, tricycles, etc.) It's quite small, but there are animals too. The amusement park rides are probably fun for children up to elementary school age. [Other] You can choose a small toy on your way home from the stamp rally. A safe and secure local amusement park in Saga. It doesn't have the same glitz and glamour as city parks, but it's a fun, compact place to enjoy. ♡ On your way back, be sure to soothe your fatigue with some gelato at the nearby Takenoko Cafe.

Kouno Park is a well-maintained and elegant green space that is famous for its stunning spring cherry blossoms. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery, take leisurely walks, and even visit a tea house within the park. Additionally, there is a kids' amusement park that offers entertainment for families. The park also features an abundance of adorable bunnies and other animals to observe. It's conveniently located near Saga Station, making it easily accessible for visitors.

Ramen restaurant
Noodle shop
The second branch of a fiery noodle eatery called 辛麺屋 道 北部バイパス店 is now open, adding to the options for spicy food lovers in Hakusan. This establishment offers a wide array of side dishes and operates until late at night, making it a convenient choice after a night out. Previously, there was only one ramen option available in the area for post-drinking meals, but now customers can rejoice in having more variety.
Very good

(Translated by Google) I went there for the first time in a while. I ate the 2 spicy and 8 spicy egg noodles and they were delicious! It's spicy, but I like the light flavor. I ordered rice and finished with ramen soup, which was also delicious. It's perfect for the cold season! (Translated by Google) Visited the store on December 27, 2024. Actually, I came here over 10 years ago, and I remember ordering the 3-spicy dish and being surprised at how spicy it was. 10 years since then. I didn't have a chance to go, but I came here as revenge. Then I took the plunge and tried 8 spiciness, but it was even more spicy than I expected. However, the more you eat, the more your stomach heats up like magma and you become addicted to it. The garlic inside is also crunchy and makes a nice accent that you won't get bored of. Apparently they have lunch on weekdays as well, so I'd like to order that next time. (Translated by Google) I had a hard time with Sankyu's red ramen, so I had it with "spicy 1" (;'∀') I ordered a replacement rice set with egg noodles and charred cheese topping. I expected the soup to be mushy, but it was smooth and easy to drink. The cheese topping gives it a mellow taste and is delicious. I like egg noodles. For the replacement meal, I mixed the leftover soup with seaweed, green onions, and a raw egg and stirred it up. When I looked at the menu, it seemed like there was a substitute for egg noodles, so I guess I should have gone for that (×_×;) It was cheaper that way... Overall the taste was pretty good. (Translated by Google) Today, we mail-ordered Karamenya Michi's spicy noodles. Paitan soup simmered for a long time with vegetables and chicken bones, and spicy noodles with original chili pepper! Since it was possible to adjust the spiciness, this time I ate it at 3 spiciness. The beaten egg mellows out the spiciness and goes perfectly with the paitan soup. I love that it contains plenty of collagen! The noodles were egg noodles and were chewy and filling. This is addictive! (Translated by Google) This is the second spicy noodle restaurant following Hakusan. They have a wide variety of side menus, are open until quite late, and have a wide selection of snacks and drinks, so I think it would be a good option for Shimera ramen. Up until now, there was only one option for ramen after drinking in this area, so I'm glad that I can now choose. As for the lunch menu, there are sets similar to those at nearby ramen restaurants, and it's a little cheaper. And the side menus are also delicious. The soft cartilage is especially recommended. As for spiciness, even the highest spiciness on the menu (25 spiciness) is barely edible, so it may not be enough for people who like extremely spicy food.

(Translated by Google) I was attracted by the sign that said "addictively spicy," so I went in. It was delicious, but the soup and noodles didn't quite mix well. I wonder if they would taste good if eaten separately? The beaten egg was fluffy and delicious, so I was a little disappointed with the noodles. I ordered the regular spiciness, but it was plenty spicy. There was also a generous amount of garlic. When you order, they will ask you whether you want chives and garlic. If you like spicy food, I think you can turn it up a notch and enjoy it.

Japanese restaurant
Ryotei restaurant
Kuraoka-tei is a Japanese restaurant that offers a variety of dishes such as Saga beef roast beef, shabu-shabu, and sashimi platter. The food is said to be delicious and can be enjoyed with plenty of sake. The proprietor of the restaurant also has good taste. However, it may not be suitable for families with children as there might be a long wait time between ordering and the arrival of food, with course meals being served in order.
(Translated by Google) This restaurant's best roast beef was amazing! Even within the A5 rank, only the specified class is carefully cooked at a low temperature! ? When you put it in your mouth, the fat melts like ice cream, but it's not greasy and delicious ♡ I wonder if I can eat it with the marbling? I thought, but I can afford it! Honmaru shabu-shabu is loaded with vegetables! I eat it quickly with the kelp soup stock, but the homemade sauce is exquisite and the vegetables are instantly killed ⤴︎ Saga beef shabu-shabu also goes great, but this sauce is amazing! Of course the meat is amazing too! I end the meal with soba and eat it with the same shabu sauce, but I'm very particular about soba! ? Meat that looks raw is meat that has been cooked at a low temperature for 3.4 hours. It melts in your mouth like chocolate that melts when you touch it with your fingers. We also had sukiyaki and udon to finish. It's close to the station and recommended for year-end parties and meetings. Only one car was parked in the parking lot. I also used a nearby coin parking lot. A relatively low-key shop, the customers are basically local residents, I am probably the only tourist The waiter has a great attitude, is kind and patient, and will introduce each dish. The roast beef is very unique. It looks like raw meat, but it is actually roasted and then frozen. It feels like ice cream in the mouth. The feeling of the fat melting in your mouth is amazing! The sukiyaki is also very good, the waiter helps to make it on site, the vegetables are in sufficient supply, and udon noodles will be provided at the end But there is one thing that needs improvement, the menu needs to be updated. The price of the set menu has increased a lot, but the prices on the menu are still before the increase, and there is no indication that they are pre-tax prices. I ordered a 100g course of roast beef and Saga beef shabu-shabu for 6,600 yen. The fish sashimi was fresh, had many varieties, and was very delicious. The roast beef is high quality Saga beef that is slowly cooked for 3 hours. Although it has a lot of fat, it is creamy and melts in your mouth. The shabu-shabu meat is also quite high quality with plenty of marbling. The meat is very delicious, with no smell or greasiness at all. However, since it has a lot of marbling, it has a lot of fat. I don't like fatty meat, so 70g of shabu meat was just the right amount. The meat is quite good, and the sashimi and other dishes are very delicious. I think the cost performance is very good. The owner and the proprietress are very nice and the shop has a nice atmosphere.
