Historic Walking Areas
Yoshinogari Historical Park is a vast archaeological complex showcasing ancient ruins, artifacts, and reconstructed huts. The park comprises an entrance zone with video facilities and restaurants, a southern wing where high-level individuals are believed to have lived, a northern wing associated with the Kuni festival, a bunker settlement zone spanning approximately 20 hectares and featuring three areas, and the Ancient Hara Zone offering various recreations.
Very nice open air museum / park. The signs were translated in english and a nice volunteer guide came to explain some of the history of the place. I saw many families and I agree it's a nice activity for kids, they will love being able to enter the houses.

Yoshinogari Historical Park, Kanzaki-gun, Saga-ken Have you ever wondered about the fascinating history of Yayoi & Jomon? The yoshinogari archaeological site of excavation, preservation & ruins holds some unspoken secrets waiting to be discovered. Let’s dive into the past and uncover the mysteries that have been hidden for centuries! You can learn about the history of this place by visiting it. It’s a fascinating place indeed. Opening hours: 9:00 Am to 17:00 Entrance Fee: Ranges from 460¥ There are museum programs where you can learn to make fire and crafting accessories and knives. Magama bead making-250¥ You can check their website for more information and programs. Website: yoshinogari.jp/en/

The park is way bigger than one would expect (maybe) and if you love history, certainly make your way out here. They even have workshops and I loved the one I joined because I love stones. Seeing the Yayoi life in the past was a good experience. You can walk around the park to check out the old houses and the ancient burial. There is a roving bus. There’s a big part of the park that’s good for kids (or so the guide at the community center told me because I didn’t explore that part). Worth visiting!

Wonderful for history buffs and those wanting to understand the origins of the Japanese people. Contrary to what many Westerners think, Japan is a country of people of various ethnic groups that has mixed so much….but held together by a national identity and hence a culture.
Roy G — Google review
It's an extremely large area. The train is about the same distance from Yoshinogari Koen Station or Kanzaki Station. I want to be prepared to walk steadily. It feels good when the weather is nice. You can learn about jar coffins. The experience center is also fun.
Youji N — Google review
Plentiful of open spaces and historical artifacts built to scale. A fun place for the family amidst nature. The park is huge. For a start, take the free shuttle bus to go round the park. Then select places of specific interest to you. Bring along food for a small picnic (there are also provisions for BBQ on site) as the restaurant maybe fully booked up. Enjoy!
Shirley N — Google review
Very cool experience for a visit to the museum or to just have a picnic in the park. The grounds are beautiful and they have daily activities that you can do for an additional fee. Also, they have multiple paid parking lots around the place. It’s huge so plan to do a lot of walking.
Kristin P — Google review
This area may not be considered as big of a tourist spot, but it has some unique areas. This archaeological site has been recreated painstakingly to show how the ancient people lived back then. For example, where the villagers kept their food, weapons and where they buried the dead. Despite being a little remote, this park is definitely a real deal!

Architectural Buildings
The Saga Castle History Museum is a well-presented attraction that features a reconstructed main keep of the original castle built in 1838. As one of Japan's largest wooden reconstructions, it showcases maps, models, and hands-on exhibits from the last years of the Edo Period. The museum provides access to historic exhibitions about local history, nature, key figures and life depicting among others.
I learned so much of the history of Saga. The volunteer guide that accompanied us was fantastic!!! My son who is a history buff got much information from the guide. Everyone there was friendly. Learned the role Saga played in relation to Nagasaki as well as involvement during Meiji uprising. We spent 4+ hours. The “castle” is beautifully restored and one can’t help to wonder the planning and logistics involved in building this castle. There’s no charge for admission or the docent.
Roy G — Google review
The museum is great and is for free. You can view plenty of historical items and descriptions. There are other visuals, like videos and recording available. If you are interested in Japanese history, I can definitely recommend this visit.
Quo D — Google review
I was really surprised at the size and variety of exhibitions in this museum. They have some interactive parts and photo spots. A very nice volunteer gave me a free tour in English so I learned a lot more than I could have by just reading. I really recommend it! Also if you have a JR Pass, show it at the counter to get a free souvenir!
Moni Z — Google review
It's sad that saga castle did not survive the passing of time, the years of neglect, and the numerous fire incidents that eventually brought it down. This museum however encapsulate a great deal of the history surrounding the castle and the region of Saga. A lot of valuable national treasures are enclosed here and valuable history on the first vaccination in Japan, innovations in railway, and the first most advanced school on western education in Japan. The heritage of the Naomasa clan lives on and I am in awe of the history of this place which largely goes unnoticed by most Japanese folks today. Also, a particularly interesting activity to partake in is the digital photography in fictional outfits of the Edo era, the outfits are selected randomly and I was lucky to get the Samurai outfit ^_^

Thanks for the senior tour guide!! We visited the museum 2 days ago. The gentleman guided us in English and gave the detailed history of Saga castle. We enjoy very much and know more about Saga city!!

Visited in January 2020. Reconstruction of the main keep of Saga Castle built in 1838, during the last years of the Edo Period. It is one of the largest wooden reconstructions in Japan. There are historic exhibitions in the museum and it is open to public. Need to remove shoe in locker before entering. Main entrance is located near Naomasa Statue / NHK building

Saga Castle Ruins, located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, is a reconstruction of a 17th-century wooden castle with a rich history. Originally known as Saga Ryuzoji Castle, it was later renovated and renamed by the Nabeshima family. The castle's unique flat land construction included a mechanism to draw in water from the moat during attacks, earning it the nickname 'sunken castle.'
A really cool castle site! Most castles in Japan are reconstructed to look flashy rather than being historically accurate so I was very happy to find this restored properly! (All Samurai castles in Japan are reconstructed as they were formally destroyed in one order) It was very interesting with information to the cattle and it's history, including important people of saga. The entire site is huge. Only a portion was restored but it's still plenty to see.
Siemon S — Google review
I came to Saga on a rainy day from Fukuoka and this castle did not disappoint. It’s a reconstruction of a lord’s wooden castle and the big hallways and tatami mats throughout really make it feel impressive. Walking on tatami in your socks feels great. The people working at the castle were very friendly and even called out a very nice Japanese man who speaks English to take me on a tour and explain the exhibits. They also have an English language audio guide they loan out since most exhibits are only in Japanese. I think Saga is a smaller city that probably doesn’t get too many foreign visitors so it really felt like they appreciated my visit. Well worth a trip.
Alex S — Google review
Tucked away in the heart of Saga, the castle ruins offer a quiet, reflective break from the pace of modern Japan. While little remains of the original structure, the elevated stone foundations give a real sense of its past scale and presence. From the top, you get peaceful views across the city and surrounding greenery — especially beautiful at sunset. It’s not crowded, which makes the atmosphere even more serene. Worth a visit if you enjoy history, open space, and a moment to slow down.

Very cool and unexpected stop for me! I found this to be a very cool experience, the staff where super friendly and gave me a headset so I could tour with English commentary. They have done a remarkable job of restoring such a beautiful palace. I also found that saga has an amazing historical value and can't be denied

The Saga Castle Museum offers an exceptionally informative journey through history, utilizing a captivating mix of methods, including live performances, videos, and artistic displays. The building itself is stunning, featuring massive tatami rooms that are truly impressive. Given the free admission, this museum is absolutely worth a visit. The fact that there was no waiting time even on a Sunday is a pleasant bonus!
Saku N — Google review
I actually wasn't able to take the free tour as it was after hours but I was still able to walk around on the castle grounds. Even that was a fun time. Beautiful architecture and view of the city from higher up. You can tell it is maintained very well. There are many cute bats flying around at night which might freak some people out but they do not bother people.
Charlie H — Google review
This is a place of beautiful Japanese architecture and gardens. If you enjoy quiet, beautiful gardens, this is a must-visit.

Saga Castle, where the 10th lord and 1,000 vassals can greet each other. It was great to be able to go into a historical place and experience it firsthand. The traditional Japanese wedding photo shoot was also a fun part.

Festival
The Saga International Balloon Fiesta is an annual five-day festival held along the Kase River just outside Saga City. Enthusiasts from around the world gather to fly their hot air balloons, creating a spectacular display in the sky. The event typically takes place from 1st to 5th November and offers a mesmerizing experience for attendees.
(Translated by Google) The 2024 Balloon Fiesta was only partially held due to weather. Fortunately, I overslept and arrived at the first balloon event on the first day at around 11am, only to find out that the morning competition had been cancelled. I wasn't sure if it would go up in the afternoon, but until 3 o'clock, I ate delicious Saga beef, curry, and soba noodles, and went shopping for souvenirs 🤗🤗 Luckily, a balloon competition will be broadcast!! ️ I was able to secure a seat and enjoy the experience. 👍👍 I heard later that the later meeting was canceled due to bad weather caused by the typhoon😵 It seems like our family was very lucky. 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ I have also posted photos from last year when the weather was nice. 🫡 We would like to thank the organizing secretariat, staff, and businesses that provided food, drinks, and souvenirs for a wonderful event. 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙏🙏🙏

(Translated by Google) The trip and visit will be for 2 days, 20241103 and 1104. The purpose of this trip was to see the Balloon Fiesta. I visited twice from my relative's house in Yanagawa City, and I did a lot of research beforehand. After receiving advice from a relative, I decided to park at Saga Forest Park and walk to the venue. The event was canceled on November 3rd due to the typhoon. On November 4th, it was unclear whether the balloons would go up until they arrived at the airport. Arrived at the site at 7am. I parked near the river at the far end of the forest park and waited. I went up to the river embankment several times and looked in the direction of the venue. The balloon started to rise. Although I visited from a little distance, I was able to understand the atmosphere and was satisfied. I think of the hardships that the people involved have had to face, such as whether or not the event was held due to the typhoon. I thought it was difficult. An international event is being held in Saga Prefecture. I hope that all efforts will be made to hold the event again this year.

(Translated by Google) Difficult to access by car anyway It is best to purchase round trip tickets in advance and use JR. Transportation cards cannot be used. Long lines to pay and purchase tickets ■Things to be careful about when mooring at night, 1. I couldn't use my smartphone until the base station went flat and I got separated at the venue, which was the end. Be especially careful about lost children! 2.A flashy light to mark your spot and a flashlight to illuminate your steps are helpful. A smartphone light is better than no light There were no lights at the site (which is natural since it's on a riverbed), and it was almost pitch black at the time of the event. When it starts to get dark, the number of people increases rapidly. The aisles are also difficult to walk. 3. There will be long lines to use the restrooms right before the event, so go early. 4. Start moving to the station before the fireworks start. This difference is large After it's over, it's too crowded to walk. ■Points to note when taking off all at once early in the morning To get the best shot from the opposite shore, go to a group walk about 30 minutes from the station. I arrived on the first train bound for Tosu and barely made it in time (takeoff time was 7am), but there was no space along the river as camera tripods were crammed.
Yoshikazu N — Google review
I attended the Saga Balloon Fiesta last autumn, and it was definitely a memorable experience — one of those events that really makes you appreciate the mix of nature, culture, and community spirit. That said, it’s not without a few minor drawbacks, so here’s a more detailed and honest take for anyone thinking of going. The Atmosphere: The whole area turns into something pretty magical during the festival. Seeing dozens of hot air balloons take to the sky at sunrise is genuinely breathtaking — photos really don’t do it justice. There's this quiet excitement in the air, even early in the morning when it’s still dark and chilly. The glow from the balloons as they’re inflating is kind of surreal. Getting There: Transportation is a bit of a mixed bag. The special trains that run to the event site are super convenient, but they get very crowded, especially on weekends. If you’re not a fan of packed public transit or standing in line, just be mentally prepared. I'd recommend arriving as early as possible, especially for the morning launches. Parking is also available, but fills up quickly. The Event Schedule: Balloon launches are heavily weather-dependent, which can be disappointing if you’ve planned your whole trip around seeing them. On the day I went, the morning flights went ahead, but the afternoon ones were canceled due to wind. They do keep the crowd informed through announcements and displays, so it's not like you're left guessing — but it’s worth building some flexibility into your plans. Food and Facilities: Plenty of food stalls and local vendors were set up, offering everything from yakitori to sweets and coffee. It’s a nice chance to try some regional specialties. Prices were reasonable. Facilities-wise, there were lots of temporary toilets and they were surprisingly clean, given the size of the crowd — though queues formed later in the day. Crowds: This is a major event in the region, so yes — it gets crowded, especially during the peak morning and evening sessions. If you're someone who doesn’t enjoy big crowds or standing around for long periods, it might feel overwhelming. Still, most people were polite, and the atmosphere stayed pretty relaxed. Tips: Dress warmly for the early morning — it’s colder than you'd expect, especially if you’re just standing around. Bring a decent camera or binoculars if you’re into photography. If you're staying overnight, book your accommodation months in advance. Saga gets packed during this time. Overall: The Saga Balloon Fiesta is definitely worth experiencing at least once. It’s not the kind of event you stumble upon — it requires some planning — but the reward is a truly unique visual experience. I wouldn’t call it "life-changing," but it’s beautiful, peaceful in its own way, and something a bit different from the usual tourist spots in Japan. If you can handle the early hours and the crowds, you’ll probably come away with some great memories.

(Translated by Google) There was only a slight rise in the morning of October 31, 2024. The event was canceled the next day due to a typhoon. I've been there five times in the past five different years, and it's always cold on the riverbed, so it's a good idea to bring down. I can't see more than 50%. The balloon seems to be very sensitive to the wind and won't go up even in the slightest breeze. If you go up, the lucky one will be your mental insurance. SNS is filled with great photos, In fact, don't expect too much from this place. However, the food and beverage corner is quite well stocked. It's a good idea to look forward to the stall with your family and consider yourself lucky if you can see the balloons go up.

The Saga Balloon Museum, established in 2016, is a one-of-a-kind attraction dedicated to hot air balloons. Located in Saga Prefecture, it showcases the history of hot air balloon competitions in Kyushu and Saga since the late 1970s. The museum offers interactive exhibits, including a hot air balloon flight simulator and a large theater where visitors can watch videos of the renowned Saga International Balloon Fiesta.
It is a best displayed museum. You can spend your time and walk around here, especially who have children in group don’t miss this place. I recommend!!!! In the museum there is simulation where you can try controlling a balloon. My sons love it so much. Furthermore, your tickets can be exchanged for coins to play Gachapon machine with 1 ticket/coin.

Museum is quite small. Other than the simulator, there's really not a lot to engage and interest non-Japanese speakers.

There is an entry fee of ¥500 which you could purchase at the ticket machine before going into the museum hall. There’s a mini theater that you could watch a video montage of the yearly Saga Ballon Festival before going up to the first floor where you could learn all the history and events that led into the establishment of Saga Ballon Festival. There’s a multilingual digital guide for each sections that requires you to scan the QR code for you to read it. There’s also a mini hot air ballon stimulator that you can try. There’s a guide video and the staff is more than happy to help you out. There’s a souvenir shop that you could buy souvenirs, postcard, sweets, snacks and drinks. It’s an ideal place to visit for a day trip. You could either take the bus or walk for about 10-15 minutes from Saga Station. There’s a lot of shops and interesting places that you could discover when you walk or cycle along the streets going to Museum. It’s also close by to a few historical attractions places that you could easily have access too.

Mitsuse Le Vert Farm Dongurimura Village, also known as "Acorn Village," is a great spot for family activities. The admission fee is very affordable, and there are plenty of animals to interact with, including the opportunity to pet them, feed them, and even take pony rides.
It is a good place to spend time with kids. The train is not found nowadays, but there are some animals to enjoy. Kids can feed ponies and goats with their own hands. There are vending machines for buying feed with 100 yen. You can ride big horses. There is also a small room for tiny animals like panda mice, guinea pigs, and hares. You can feed them, too. At the last, don't forget to wash the hands!

It's a nice place for family activities. There are plenty of animals you can pet, feed, sometimes get a ride. An admission fee is super inexpensive. Additionally, it provides an entertaining experience by allowing visitors to purchase koi food and toss it around for fun.
Beautiful and well maintained shrine in the heart of Saga city. It has various sub shrines you can visit to pray for your children’s health etc.

Nestled in the serene mountains of Saga Prefecture, Japan, Kiyomizu Waterfall stands at an impressive height of 75 meters and spans 13 meters wide. This enchanting waterfall is a haven for nature enthusiasts seeking tranquility amidst lush greenery.
A picturesque walk to the waterfall with lots of greenery and the sound of trickling waters. Nice to be able to walk right up to the waterfall basin and have a photo shoot. If the waterfall basin is larger it would have been perfect. We also visited a mystical Buddhist temple next door - Hochiin 宝地院.

Magnificent waterfall with little visitors on a Spring weekday. One can relax at the pavilion with one's face brushed by occasional breeze while listening to the noise of falling water and rhythm of the wind chimes installed around the pavilion.

There are two parking spots close by one is a little bit closer but smaller and only has space for a handful of cars. We parked in the bigger parking lot and walked uphill for maybe 200m before we got to the gate that leads into a forest area with a beautiful bridge and the stairs to the temple. This is route 1 and leads to the temple first before continuing to the waterdall. The stairs are somewhat uneven so you have to pay attention when climbing up to the temple. Same goes for the stairs that lead down from the temple to the waterfall. The second route is not as steep and in way better shape. It seems to be a little easier and more people used it. The waterfall itself was very beautiful and children were playing in the refreshing water. It was perfect for a hot day!

Greeny and cool environment.there have two ways to reach to the waterfall.one is through the temple by climbing the stairs which is very hard but surrounding by the nature.other way is very easy to find, lookup the sign boards on your way to the parking.

Gorgeous waterfall, with a peaceful environment. I came in December and got to see all the red and yellow leaves falling on a beautiful clear day.

It's a beautiful waterfall roughly 150m or 300m from the road depending on the route taken. There are free parking lots and restaurants on site.

There are 2 ways to go to the waterfalls, 1 is through the temple, which I don’t suggest older people do, we had to climb so many stairs! My asthmatic self was wheezing throughout! But the temple above had a calming serenity because of how untouched and run down it was, and looking at all the Gods placed everywhere even made it breathtaking! 2nd way of accessing it is the one that leads you right where the waterfall lands, easy access! The area around the waterfall looks completely hidden, like it’s a town’s secret! So no tourist info or signs in English.

Saga Airport Observation Deck is located on the rooftop floor of Saga International Airport, offering a wide view of the Ariake Sea and beyond. The deck features a whole floor-to-ceiling window where visitors can watch planes taking off and landing. While it's a small local airport with limited flights, the observation deck provides an opportunity to enjoy the panoramic vista for free. Additionally, there is a small restaurant offering ice cream, drinks, and ramen for those looking to grab a bite before leaving customs.
(Translated by Google) After hanging up your luggage, you have to go to the third floor to exit customs. There is an observation deck before exiting customs, and a whole floor-to-ceiling window allows you to watch the planes taking off and landing. (Translated by Google) Matsubara Shrine is a shrine located in Matsubara, Saga City, about 1.6 km south of JR Saga Station. The old company rank is Agatasha. It is on the north side across National Route 264 from the Saga Castle ruins. It was built in 1772 as a shrine to enshrine Nabeshima Naoshige, the founder of the Hizen Saga domain. Naoshige is affectionately known as ``Nippo-san'' because his Buddhist name is ``Himine,'' and festivals are held in the spring and autumn. In 1817, Nabeshima Naoshige's grandfather, Kiyohisa, and Naoshige's legal wife, Hikotsuruhime, were enshrined together. In 1872, the first lord of the domain, Katsushige Nabeshima, was enshrined here and the name was changed to Matsubara Shrine. In 1873, new temples were built to the north and south of the original main shrine, and the 10th lord Nabeshima Naomasa of the domain was enshrined in the south shrine, and Takafusa Takafusa, a politician from the Ryuzoji family who had ruled Saga before the Nabeshima clan, was enshrined in the north shrine. The original main hall has since been called ``Nakaden.'' In 1912, Nabeshima Naohiro, the 11th lord of the domain, who passed away two years earlier, was enshrined in the south hall. In 1933, Saka Shrine was built and the spirit of Nabeshima Naomasa in the south hall was relocated. In 1948, the spirit of Nabeshima Naohiro in the south hall was also transferred to Saka Shrine, and the south hall was abolished. In 1963, the main hall of Matsubara Shrine was renovated, and the middle hall and north hall were combined into one. A ``white porcelain torii gate'' has been erected within the precincts. Nabeshima Naoshige, the founder of the Hizen Saga domain, which is the enshrined deity of Matsubara Shrine, sent troops to Korea during the Bunroku and Keicho wars, and when he returned to Korea in 1597, an old book says that he was ``taken with him by six or seven pottery masters as treasures of Japan.'' In 1616, a group of potters brought from Korea, led by the Yi Sanpei clan, discovered pottery stone at Arita Izumiyama and fired porcelain similar to the Yi dynasty, forming the basis of today's Arita ware. The white porcelain lantern was dedicated to Nabeshima Naoshige in front of the shrine at Matsubara Shrine from Arita Sarayamanaka, in honor of Nabeshima Naoshige, who was called ``the god's ancestor, Hinoko.'' In 2005, the pain became severe, so it was repaired and protected by the Arita Iwao Porcelain Company. The name of the place where the shrine is located, Matsubara, comes from the town of Matsubara in Saga District, part of the Hizen Saga Domain. 1889: Matsubara Town, Mizugae Town, Higashi-Tashiro Town, Yoga Town, Akamatsu Town, Nishi-Tashiro Town, Yanagi Town, Konya Town, Zaimoku Town, Hasuike Town, Shimo-Imajuku Town, Ushijima Town, Takagi Town, Kamiashi Town, Naka Town, Gofuku Town, Touo Town, Shiro Saga City was established with the following areas: Yamamachi, Motomachi, Teramachi, Tojinmachi, Yoneyamamachi, Tafusemachi, Iseyamachi, Kishikawamachi, Nagasemachi, Rokuzamachi, Tegomachi, Iseyahonmachi, Nishiomachi, Dosomotomachi, Honjomachi, and Hachinohemachi. In 1954, Hyogo Village, Kose Village, Nishiyoga Village, Kase Village, Takakise Village, Kitagawa Soe Village, Honjo Village, Nabeshima Village, Kanadachi Village, and Kuboizumi Village were incorporated into Saga City. In 2005, Saga City, Morotomi Town, Yamato Town, Fuji Town, and Mise Village, Kanzaki District merged, and Saga City was re-established. In 2007, Kawazoe Town, Higashiyoka Town, and Kubota Town were incorporated into Saga City. In the Edo period, Matsubara Koji, where the shrine is located, was the site of a samurai residence in Saga Castle. The Ureshino family's mansion gate (an important cultural property designated by Saga City) has been preserved, and a monument has been erected on the site of the domain school Kodokan. Water & Amusement Parks
Marchen Mura, a whimsical amusement park designed with a fairytale theme, is suitable for children from infants to lower grades of elementary school. Visitors can purchase a ticket that allows them to ride six paid vehicles for 1000 yen and enjoy many free playsets all day long. The park also features areas where parents, grandparents and other visitors can rest and relax. Additionally, there is an animal feeding corner available for visitors' enjoyment.
Underrated find for families with young children! Planned only as a short stop off on the drive from Nagasaki to Fukuoka, we ended up spending a few hours here and wish we could have stayed longer! Soo much for our little ones to explore - from ball pit, to a show, to indoor play areas, to rides and a train! Even though the facilities are quite old, everything was clean and the food was great! So family friendly and well thought out! Highly recommend to check it out for families with little ones!

Uh… it’s… special. It’s a little theme park that got stuck in the past. No renovations or anything since then, but that kind of makes it fun. Fairy tale themed, but I’m not sure what the fairy tale is. Cute for little kids, hot and kind of expensive for adults. The theme song should also be banned. That song was driving me bonkers.

(Translated by Google) I visited on a weekday after the summer holidays. This was my first time visiting, so I don't know how crowded it is on weekends, but it was very quiet and nice (lol). All rides are 300 yen and require a ticket system. I recommend the 1000 yen card, which lets you ride six times! It's also very convenient because you can share one card. The pool requires one ticket or one stamp. Adults don't need a ticket or stamp if they don't use the pool. The pools are separated into two sections, one for children 3 and over and one for children under, so even small children can play safely. Children under 3 years old must wear swim trunks. The pool itself isn't very large, but it's shallow, so it's safe to play in. Float rentals are 100 yen, and beach balls are available for free. Almost all QR codes are accepted at the entrance and the shop! Be careful, though, as the restaurant only accepts cash. I didn't have much cash on me, so I left and went to a nearby 7-Eleven (lol). The restaurant had a wide selection of menu items, including light snacks, summer specials, and dishes featuring Saga beef. There's an air-conditioned rest area right next to the restaurant, where you can enjoy your meal at your leisure. However, since the indoor playground is also in the same building, children's voices can get loud on weekends. There are benches in the rest area, so it looks like you could take a nap (lol). There are also massage chairs. You can also feed the animals. There are three types of food, all 100 yen each, and cash only is accepted here. It was my first time feeding the squirrels 🐿️, and they were so cute. Overall, I think the park is aimed at preschoolers and early elementary school students. There's an original song playing throughout the park, and it's stuck in my head (lol). All in all, you can play all day here. I'd like to come again. This local amusement park is wonderful. [Admission Fee and Amusement Tickets] Admission is ¥1,200 for adults, with an additional fee for children 3 and over. Annual passes are also available. Amusement rides are available in advance as a ¥300 single-ride ticket, or a ¥1,000 (six-ride) ride passport, which is handed over at the boarding area. There's no expiration date, so the six-ride pass is by far the best value. Lol. You can also use it when entering the pool area. (Ages 3 and up) [Pool] *The pool in R7 was open until September 15th, but just for reference. Children up to two years old could enjoy themselves with just the swim ring fee (¥100). Separate areas for each age group ensure safe play. The covered area protects children from direct sunlight. Toys are provided in the area for children up to two years old. Coin lockers are available for valuables. There were plenty of chairs and tables. There's also a (slightly old) restroom nearby. [Lunch/Break] A large indoor playground and dining area is located a short walk up a steep hill. This is a very comfortable spot during the sweltering summer heat. The snack bar sells curry, udon noodles, potatoes, shaved ice, and more. There's also a microwave. Some people bring their own rice balls and baby food. [Playground] There's a covered area, so it's perfect for rainy or hot days. (Trampolines, tricycles, etc.) It's quite small, but there are animals too. The amusement park rides are probably fun for children up to elementary school age. [Other] You can choose a small toy on your way home from the stamp rally. A safe and secure local amusement park in Saga. It doesn't have the same glitz and glamour as city parks, but it's a fun, compact place to enjoy. ♡ On your way back, be sure to soothe your fatigue with some gelato at the nearby Takenoko Cafe.

Park
The Saga Prefectural Shinrin Park is a spacious green area located on the banks of a river. It features several amenities such as a baseball stadium, play area, and pond. Additionally, visitors can enjoy tennis courts and gardens within the park's grounds. The park offers ample space for various activities suitable for people of all ages to engage in outdoor recreation.
There is a giant field and some toys for children. You can enjoy the evening walk with your partner. Children will be thrilled to be in such an open area for playing and running. In the winter, birds come from Siberia. You can watch them at the lake in the middle of the park.

A pleasant park for a quiet stroll or morning exercises. There is a lookout area at the far end of the park and a colourful play structure for kids near the entrance on the right. I particularly like the cute signboard in English and Japanese showing the dos and don'ts at the playground.

It's a pretty peaceful place. My mind was incredibly relaxed. There are amazing panoramas from the observation points here. Overall, we are pleased to note that our selection is consistent with our observations.
