Very cool colourful city centre but a lot of people and cars all the time

Really cool place in the center of Trujillo. Safe, lots of families around and security is solid. The architecture is really beautiful and it is a nice space, and there are also many great restaurants within one block of the plaza itself. Must-visit place if you’re visiting Trujillo or Huanchaco.

Beautiful main square! A vibrant and historic place surrounded by colonial architecture and colorful buildings. The central monument is impressive, and the atmosphere is lively both during the day and in the evening. A great spot to start exploring Trujillo and enjoy the local vibe.

A pleasant surprise, an architectural treat lots of beautiful old colonial administrative buildings around this huge square, clean and hassle free. Some nice restaurants and coffee shops around the square to definitely worth a visit.

My favourite Plaza de Armas in Peru. An open and spacious square surrounded by colourful colonial architecture with a monument dedicated to the fight for independence.

Small but lovely and interesting part of Trujillo

You can buy almost every kind of fresh fruits and vegetables in Mercado Central. The meat and fish you buy here is normally of good quality. As a foreigner in Peru, my opinion is that this market is one of the better ones in Trujillo.

A fun little market to visit for foreigners in Peru. The variety of fruits here is amazing. I tried many new fruits there, which taste fantastic and absolutely not expensive. I was brought to the market by my guide.

Very good place for cheaper European standard coffee, a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, a lot of nice places to eat or have a snack/juice. Recommended!

You can find quite a lot of things here. I suggest you try the "ponche" juice they sell in front of the main entrance. It's fantastic!

Like most markets in Latin countries. Nice variety of fruits, veggies, etc Better prices than supermarkets by 20% or more...

I found all kind of fruits but have a lot of people. Anyway I did all my shopping fast that I can do.

Great place to find shoes and accessories of real leather, all made in Trujillo.

This is an interesting place in Trujillo. The whole place takes the block. Is a Cooperative (Coop) of manufacturers and distributors of leather and other clothing articles, including folk art. And they sell at really low and unbelievable prices. Real leather shoes, comfy, for less than a pair of Nikes. The day I visited I thought they had a party or a celebration of some type. They were celebrating the wake of one of their founding members and in style. What a way to go, surrounded by your coworkers and colleagues. Excellent experience.

I bought beautiful boots and Sandals for a very good price, you have to look for good quality shoes but it was worth it.

It's a nice place to look back into your childhood. It's not so big, you can see everything in less than 15 minutes. But the concept behind the museum and the message with it is worthy enough to take some time and give it a chance.

This is a private museum which showcases toys donated to the museum as old as 1000 years old presumed to be toys. It is on a second floor of a renovated neo-colonial building; which its only access is a very steep wooden stair. Since its not funded by the government; all donations are what keeps it running so please give it a visit if you are not injured or impaired. :/

A good place to take some creepy doll photos. Not many explanations or dates available for the collections. Not sure if it was worth s/7 for the entrance

Fun little museum for 5 sol open Wednesdays

Had a great stay at Costa del Sol in Trujillo! The hotel is clean and well-maintained, with rooms that are spotless and impeccably serviced. Breakfast is a real highlight – fresh, tasty, and a great way to start the day. Susan at reception is always welcoming and helpful, adding a personal touch to the experience. The bar staff are friendly and keep the drinks flowing, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Only downside is that rooms on the street side can get a bit loud at night, but overall, a fantastic stay. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights while visiting Trujillo. The rooms were standard and clean. My only real complaint was the noise. The Plaza is loud at night and in the morning. Furthermore, there was a party or some type of karaoke or singing every night with loud bass. Because we live in a big city, we are used to this type of noise. If you need quiet to sleep, do not stay here.

A huge restaurant and the food here was served in generous portions and very flavoursome. We enjoyed the mixto ceviche, cocktail prawns and a salad. Staff were also efficient.

Friendly and classy place serving tasty ceviche. Waiters are attentive and professional. I would recommend sticking with ordering ceviche because the other dishes like sopa de pollo was super salty with little to no ingredients in it. Come for what they are famous for and you won't be disappointed!

Best Seafood

Mainly seafood but they do serve other dishes here as well. So even if you don't like seafood you should be able to find something you like. Atmosphere is kinda plain unless you love gray concrete because it's everywhere. Service is good, some dishes take longer then others so you may be waiting while others are enjoying there food. But overall it's a nice place to eat. Older gentleman out front helps you park if they have space in front and helps you back out as well. Small tip is appreciated usually 2 soles.

While the food (only ceviches) is good, i wouldnt rate it as exceptional. And feels a little overpriced for that reason

We had a fantastic dinner at San Remo’s. We started with Antipasto Español with fresh, warm bread. Then we enjoyed spaghetti Bolognesi and the super special pizza. The service was impeccable, and the restaurant was very comfortable and inviting,

Really nice Italian food. Service was friendly, the Waiter went above and beyond for us, translating his welcome into English and explaining little bits of the menu with his Google app so we understood the options.

The place and food are good, but they take too much time to take the order and another to bring the food. Besides the waiter take another to bring the check. We ate in 2h and wait to paid 2 more.

Excellent salads and pizzas as well as various italian dishes. High quality ingredients and creative preparation.

If your Journey takes you to historical Trujillo in Perú, where you not only will be able to admire a traditional location where peruvian writer César Vallejo use to stay, but also enjoy some of the best food in north of Perú, like fried Guinea Pig, Rice and Duck and many more. (Yes I said Guinea Pig and it was delicious!)

The reason for 1 star is that, even when you tell them no tip, they still add it. Besides that, amazing food, amazing place, nice ambience. I would come back when you charge fairly

Great food and atmosphere, particularly the dish of the day. It would be 5 stars but they ask me for a tip at the end which I don't like.

This hotel-turned-restaurant has a gorgeous interior with quality food. Unfortunately when we went they were out of the majority of their dishes and service was slow, but the food they did have was still delicious. I recommend going earlier in the day (for lunch or an early dinner) and expecting to spend 1.5-2 hours there.

Food is unhealthy but so damn good! Specially after we drove 500km in mountains, all day didn’t eat, everything just went in with a whistle! Pisco sour did it’s job. Everyone is full and happy!! Recommend for road travelers

we came here as a friend of friend recommendation. I will totally recommend to all of u who visit Trujillo. The Fish Ceviche is a must. Super flavorful and u can feel the freshness and the refreshing taste. Its the popular restaurant as its Wednesday 2:30 pm but its kinda full. it took about 20-30 mins to received the food for 6 of us but absolutely worth it. The waitress is very efficient.

Incredible food. I had the 1/2 cuy with ajiaco potatoes and rice. I was totally surprised by both the presentation and flavor. The meat was very soft and sweet and with little seasoning was delicious. Definitely a 5 star first time eating cuy, will do it again. So much better than rabbit. The pisco sours were delicious and they looked like they were made correctly with egg whites, try them, they are good. With only two days in Trujillo I am already planning another meal here.

I went today with my family who is local. The menu is very extensive so you can try any classic of Peruvian food. I had the causa de la casa (potato cake with meat) and was great. Be careful when ordering, the portions are HUGE! Everybody was happy with their food.
