Toca do Morcego is a popular spot in Morro de Sao Paulo, offering panoramic ocean views and a sophisticated atmosphere near the village pier. It's known for its vibrant ambiance, live music performances, and DJ sets featuring electronic and various musical styles. This captivating chill out bar and dance club in Gamboa, Bahia, Brazil is loved by locals and tourists alike for its eclectic music, stunning sunset views, refreshing cocktails, and delicious dishes.
Best place in MSP to watch the sunset! R$50 cover. Live music started as the sun was going down. The Moscow Mule was delicious with a spicy cream foam on top.
Justin C — Google review
One of the best views for sunset! And the bar is lively - with music, social atmosphere, great drinks and food! Definitely worth the visit!
Alexandra G — Google review
Great experience with this place. We repurchased a ticket for 50RS, which they delivered to our hotel 🥳 we lined up at the time suggested (you must bring ID by the way). We got a table right by the railing, with a great view. I ordered a couple of drinks pretty much when we sat down, the waiter informed me they were 47 RS each, which I expected given the view, and the drinks arrived shortly after. We had some crumbed prawns and a second round of drinks (the prawns were quite heavy in batter) and left after the sun had set. Overall and amazing if not expensive place to watch the sunset,
Aus_Craig — Google review
The best sunset of the place is in this place Good drinks and food but the view it was outstanding amazing increible
Carolina B — Google review
Terrible food, pricey, the service is very messy. The good parts are the beautiful view and the local atmosphere if you'd like to experience it.
Ben A — Google review
Great location to see the sun set with drinks and food. It's bit expensive and has entry charge of 10 bucks. Could nullify the entry charge if people consume something. Nevertheless great place to spend good amount of time
Hemanth K — Google review
Best sunset view in morro. They serve very good snacks, Caipirinhas are Great also. I like the dj and there was a band also at the end. Little bit expensive. Also have to pay 10 reais to get in.
Luiz H — Google review
Overrated place, You pay a massive entrance fee for sunset and in the end the queue is too long to see the sunset apart from that you do not even get a free chair or table. If there is a free table people jump to this and try to fight for it. Really bad mannered crowd. This should be well organized in a place like this. Waited also 30min. in line with slow payment.

The Church of Our Lady of Light, also known as Nossa Senhora Da Luz, has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. Legend has it that the Dutch Admiral's attempt to invade the island was thwarted by a miraculous sight, attributed to the Holy Patron, Lady of Light. The church was completed in 1845 and is home to relics from the 17th and 18th centuries, including sacred images and baroque cedar altars.

(Translated by Google) The church is located right at the entrance to Morro de São Paulo. It's historic and part of the city. It holds Mass every Saturday at 7 p.m. due to high demand and the limited number of priests to celebrate and administer the churches in the archipelago. We were fortunate (thanks to God and the Blessed Virgin) to attend Mass on July 12th. Jesus is in the Blessed Sacrament! A place of prayer and history. It's worth it! Vale a pena!

Morro de São Paulo Lighthouse

Morro de São Paulo Lighthouse, located at the northwestern part of Tinhare Island, is part of a significant defensive complex in Brazil. The fortress, also known as the Fort of Tapirandu, boasts well-preserved walls and ruins protected as a National Historic Patrimony. Visitors should pack light due to limited transportation options on the car-free island and be prepared for the 220V voltage.
Stunning view, worth the short walk up. Also a good opportunity to get out of the tourist crowds in town.

The 2a Praia in Morro de Sao Paulo is a popular beach with people looking for lots of fun during the holidays. It's home to some of the most popular beach bars and restaurants in town, as well as some of the most beautiful views of the ocean. It's just a short walk from the center of town and it's always crowded during high season, thanks to tourists who love its laid-back atmosphere and cool water.
The best place in morro de São Paulo , very lively, amazing beach and views and good vibes !
Alexandra G — Google review
this is a very lively crowded beach, it is semi-swimmable, but doesn't feel too clean, more for a dip in the water, as its a small bay on both sides of the point/ small island. its more a very vibrant area with a lot of choice to eat and drink, and a boardwalk for walking along the coastline, and people watch (a tonne of people watching here!!!). for a European visitor, it has Ibiza vibes, high season. so if you like party and busy, mixture of loud music, and young people, this is for you!!
MNML J — Google review
Beautiful beach, you can lie down and never have to get up, someone will get you all the acai and caipi you'll need. Lots of football, dancers and people having fun!
Pavel K — Google review
The beach may have been beautiful years before but over tourism has taken its charm. For one, it is highly commercialised with several overpriced and poor quality restaurants such as Sambass, where I had a terrible meal. I am a tourist myself, but feel there was a strange vibe from the swarm of tourists there who don’t seem to understand the basic manners of public spaces and I was made to feel uncomfortable by a group of men sitting strangely close to our towels and causing us to have to move away as they began playing football over our heads. Not to mention, the beach is filthy with trash left behind from such tourists. The beach was unenjoyable due to the above and I genuinely wouldn’t recommend spending your time and money to go there. There are many other beaches in Brazil with a much better ambience and less tourists with no manners.
S D — Google review
This place it's amazing, I can't wait to go back. If you want to save some money on food you better eat at the various restaurants at the village unread go to the beach.
EVERALDO A — Google review
It is a great beach, the water is very good, clean and warm. There is no waves, so it is possible to relax in the sea. There are a lot of restaurants in the beach.
Victor B — Google review
What can I say I fell in love with morro de Sao Paulo. The second beach houses most of the restaurants and bars. this means it offers very good day and night activities
Liesel81 — Google review
Nice beach but not a good place for children. A lot of boats are very near the coastline.

Cantina Barolo is a must-visit for Italian food enthusiasts, offering high-quality traditional dishes. The venue is beautifully decorated, and the friendly staff ensures a pleasant visit. Guests can enjoy tasty meals at good prices while soaking in the charming ambiance of Cantina Barolo.
Fresh homemade pasta, excellent sauce. The owner gave us a sample of a new sauce they are introducing to the menu. Overall we loved it!
Antonio C — Google review
We went here, it was as good as empty. The waiter ensured us there would be live music, which we didn't really need. Place is nicely decorated and the food that was served was very good. We had the meat and spaghetti, both were nice. We took some dessert: moelleux which was excellent!!! The caiperinhas however were far too bitter and seemed to lack cachacha.
Stijn V — Google review
Romantic place for couples, with good food. The atmosphere is really good and the food is typically Italian - you get the feeling lime you did a quick trip to Italy. The owner really cares about the guests and talks with all of them, which makes you feel very welcomed. The Menue could be a bit larger for my taste.
Lucian D — Google review
Tasty and good prices! Plus the staff is really friendly and the the venue is very cute. We had the lasagne bolognese the steozzapretti with amatriciana and two aperol and paid 170 reais!! Very much recommended!

Nice place to stay, with a very helpful staff (ask for Fabi at the reception, I've never seen anyone better). Very well located within the second beach (includes beach service). Good and pleasant beach. The only place in Morro de São Paulo that I had no problem with the staff. Very pleased with our time there and I certainly would recommend for any visitor.
Felipe M — Google review
Great hotel, very well located right in front of the second beach (segunda praia). Breakfast is great, you can ask for tapiocas. Facilities are clean and staff is friendly. PS.: At night there is music in all restaurants at the shore, so if you prefer total silence at the second beach you may need to look for a hotel/room at the back, without sea view.
Denys H — Google review
Nice beach pousada. Even though it is on the beach property the rooms are quietly secluded in the back garden. Regarding the rooms they are spartan and the wi-fi barely works when it works. The breakfast tends to disappear so a late breakfast is not advisable. Also of you want your room cleaned you need to leave the room key a fact that the staff forgot to mention on the first day.

Nice sunset view with good music. The best we experienced in Morro. Amazing food and options. Quick service and we felt welcome. We definitely go there again.

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere. The live music was beautiful and the service was extremely friendly. There is a nice awning with adequate cover even when it’s raining.
Sarah S — Google review
We ate here in our last night and loved the view and the food! Was a great way to end the night. The owner/manager (who also asked us to leave a review) was great. She accommodated our large group with 3 kids. Our only hiccup was they were out of the lobster (luckily we had some early in the week), but the other options were just as delicious as the lobster looked. Would highly recommend a dinner here at least once while at Morro De Sao Paolo!
Chris K — Google review
We went to the restaurant on Christmas Eve, which we paid for in advance. We chose from the Christmas menu which was very expensive so we were expecting it to be really good. The food was average at best - the salad was mostly rocket, the tuna tartare was made with a sweet cream, the mains were very small - I ordered moqueca but the plate was mostly rice and farofa with a tiny amount of moqueca served on the plate. The main course took a crazy long time to arrive, which we had to ask the waiter for 3 times before it arrived. When it did arrive it was almost cold so it had obviously been sitting out. We also had to ask twice before the desert came. The food and experience were not worth the money we paid at all.
Nina — Google review
One of the best restaurants from Morro de São Paulo. The space is super nice, great view, and with great entertainment. Now, about the food: super good! We had the seafood risoto and the salmon with puree, and both were great. But the high point of the meal course was the entrance: the best ceviche that I ever had, you should try. I would go back to this restaurant for sure.

Save your money paying the cover fee to Toca and come here for the sunset, great view (though it was rainy when we went) and good drinks

I had the best food of the island in this location. I ordered the “Festival de Friars do Mar”. Everything was delicious. The banana mouse was a highlight. I’ve never tried something like this. I highly recommend this location. We went in a huge group of people without telling them before. But they managed everything great. Location is beautiful with a nice view over the little harbour.

Quarta Praia is a tranquil and secluded beach in Morro de Sao Paulo, known for its peaceful atmosphere and calm sea. It is one of the farthest beaches from the island's center, offering a long stretch of sand and delightful warm natural pools during low tide. The clear and warm waters attract numerous tourists seeking relaxation and natural beauty. Despite being less frequented due to its distance, it provides an ideal setting for those looking for restful moments away from the hustle and bustle.
Best beach in Morro. Quiet, very long and beautiful walk. We enjoyed spending time in the hammocks on the beach and had good fruit juices.
Gigi F — Google review
The sea is cleaner and clearer here, compared to 1,2,3 beaches. however it is shallow and full of rocks. so it's only for a dip/bath and not really for a swim at all. there are a handful of restaurant/bars or stalls here on the beach. the drawing point is that it is much more peaceful and beautiful than the first 2 beaches, where they are just way too busy.
MNML J — Google review
The beach is beautiful, but for those who want bath or swim, it’s better to keep walking till the second half of the beach
Bruno L — Google review
Really liked it. Away from the crowds of the other beaches that are closer to the town centre you'll find a nice beach with very little amount of people (takes a while to get there as you can only get there by foot I think). Because of that, unfortunately this isn't an option for people with reduced mobility. There are a couple of bars that (I think) serve some food (although we didn't eat). Not a place to watch the sunset, best during the morning/day time (till 16:30-17:00)
Isa A — Google review
Much quieter than in town. Worth walking here and sitting in the shade of the big trees after a splash.
Paolo D — Google review
It’s a very flat and shallow beach, even with the tide. The mud is very soft and is good for rubbing on your skin or throwing at your friends (or enemies, you choose). It’s the least crowded beach, especially farther south.

The hostel is amazing! Very nice place, the best breakfast, super friendly staff! For the people that arrive late to the hostel (as in after sunset). Once you reach the destination on maps you still have to walk 5-10 minutes down the path with all the lights. The path is completely safe and just keep on walking all the way to the end following the lights, you will reach the hostel.
Dominic — Google review
Without a doubt, this was the best place we stayed on our trip in Brazil. The entire hostel was very clean and the vegan breakfast was amazing 😍. The staff was kind and welcoming they took the time to show us the map of the island and gave us great recommendations for things to do. On the day we left, they even made us breakfast earlier so we wouldn't have to travel hungry. Most importantly the atmosphere was incredible as we truly felt immersed in the jungle. We can't recommend this place highly enough!
Emma W — Google review
Had a very nice 3 night stay in the Bungalow with my partner. Staff is very friendly and the breakfast is all delicious home made food. The atmosphere is rather calm, and that was were we were looking for. It’s 15min located from the center, right in the woods - so don’t expect to be dropped off with a taxi right before the entrance! 😉 It’s a bamboo hostel, located in a small forest. So expect to hear animals at night, bring repellent and walk on an unpaved (but well lit) road. Too bad we didn’t see any monkeys when we were staying there!
Pieter S — Google review
Very nice place in the middle of the forest (10-15min walk to the center / port). As the windows consist of "mosquito nets" you really get to feel the forest. The rooms are clean and mosquito free. The staff is friendly and helpful and they prepare the best breakfast I had in a hostel (especially the two types of vegan cakes the make every day are delicious)! Would defenitely stay there again and recommend it to everyone who likes nature!
Michael E — Google review
Loved the place, the atmosphere and the treatment received. The hostel is in the middle of the forest and yet it's spotless clean (kudos to that!!). It's Argentinian owned so I think you'll enjoy it more of you speak Spanish, as they arrange cultural events such as walks, theatre and jam sessions. Having said that, it is NOT a party hostel, so if that's what you fancy then I'll recommend somewhere else. Vegan breakfast was really really good (I'm not vegan nor vegetarian), although I must admit I didn't like the coffee. Still they get my 5 stars and I'd definitely come back there without a doubt when/if I get back to Morro de SP.
Isa A — Google review
The idea of a hostel made with bamboo in the forest was nice but unfortunately the reality doesn't live up to expectations. The photos are misleading and should be updated. They show a place and rooms that look much nicer, newer and cleaner than the reality. The bedrooms are not super clean but at least they are swept everyday, while the shared bathrooms are very dirty: not cleaned a single time in the 4 days I was there, despite complaints from several guests, including me. None of the toilet and shower doors were functioning, so other guests could see while you use the toilets and take a shower. When me and another guest raised the issue, the manager said that he wasn't aware of the problem (that tells a lot about management and maintenance) and will "look into it". 3 days later when I left, nothing had been done about it. During my stay, the 2 toilets were disgusting. The toilet paper was missing for 2 days. There was no soap nor paper towels in the toilets. 1 shower did not work at all and the second one had no lighting, so everyone used the same one. 2 guests ended up leaving the Hostel and booking elsewhere because of the overall lack of cleanliness. The tasty vegan food mentioned on the website is not offered anymore - only a (good) breakfast. The Covid measures highlighted on the website and reservation email are non existent (no hand sanitizer, the staff doesn't wear the mask, etc ). The location is more remote than indicated by the Hostel: about 15 mins to the village and 20-25 mins to the beach. On the positive side, in addition to the breakfast, I loved the path to the Hostel through the forest. This place could be a nice stay if it was managed and maintained professionally.

This magical place in the jungle is the nr 1 reason to stay at morro. The luxury house, caring and empathetic staff and best breakfast in the world, gave me the feeling that I was spending my time in a villa imagined in one of my dreams. Super cool architecture, a garden with loads of food and a nice wake up in the middle of nature. Go here! It is a life experience!

Quinta Praia

Beach
Quinta Praia, as the name suggests, captivates visitors with its natural beauty and tranquility. Located about 8 km from the center, it is less crowded and best visited during low tide. The area comprises five stunning beaches - First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Beach - all within walking distance of each other. During low tide, natural pools form on some of these beaches making them perfect for snorkeling.
Calming and relaxing spot. Beautiful sightseeing. Walking distance from Patachocas Resort no more than 20 minutes. Easy to get there. Attention about the high sea time may affect the way.

(Translated by Google) Also known as Praia do Encanto, it is truly enchanting! It is a deserted beach that looks like a movie set, it is so beautiful! We decided to walk, but soon a guy in a horse-drawn carriage came to offer his service and since we were tired we decided to enjoy the experience of riding in a horse-drawn carriage on the beach, which was really great. It was worth it, because the tide was already rising and we wouldn't be able to get to the place he took us to in a mangrove swamp. This experience and view were really cool! We agreed that we would want to stop to enjoy the beach, which was wonderful, even though the tide was not low. We enjoyed the calm, relaxing and delicious sea. We also had lunch at one of the few restaurants on the beach. It really is enchanting! Some say that at low tide it is even better, because in some places the famous natural pools form, but we didn't have the opportunity and we were still immensely happy that we went there. Note: The photos were taken along the way to Quinta Praia (Praia do Encanto).

(Translated by Google) A place for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle of other beaches. Crystal clear water, a wonderful view! You can walk a long way into the sea, it is very shallow. But it is recommended to wear slippers for the water. I snorkeled a lot and there are many sea urchins in the corals. To dive, choose an intermediate tide, not too low, not too high. For swimming, high tide is better, at low tide it is very shallow, but it is also nice. The water is almost warm. It depends on each person's taste. I saw horseback rides on the beach, which take you to the mangroves, where the water is darker and I saw in some photos and comments that people mistook it for dirty water. But it has nothing to do with it. I stayed at this beach and loved it! A água fica quase quente. Fiquei hospedada nessa praia e adorei!

It is located on Tinharé Island on the Costa do Dendê. It is also a very rustic, wild, peaceful and practically deserted beach, ideal for those who enjoy peace and quiet. It only has a few luxurious hotels for those who enjoy a lot of tranquility and being isolated in the company of the crystal clear sea and the open sky. Access is via transport provided by the Resorts themselves. It has a very beautiful coastline, with immense coconut groves, Atlantic forest, clear sand, calm, warm and tranquil waters. It has this name due to the fact that all the beaches in Morro de São Paulo were given their names according to the sequence in which they were discovered and populated. It has practically no tourist facilities and the only restaurants available are those in the hotels themselves, as some of them are open to the general public. For those looking for excitement or intense nightlife, this is not the ideal place, as at dusk the place is characterized by being very calm and peaceful and the excitement happens far away, in the vicinity of Segunda Praia and Vila de Morro de São Paulo.

Segunda Praia is a stunning beach located in Morro de São Paulo, Brazil. It's known for its lively atmosphere, with beach bars and restaurants lining the shore. Visitors can also enjoy live music and entertainment in the evenings, creating a vibrant and festive ambiance.

(Translated by Google) This is my fourth time at El Morro. I came for the first time in 2010. It's changed considerably over the years, but it's still the most beautiful beach, closer to everything, to the center, and with a diverse range of restaurants and hotels. Everything happens here. It's busy but beautiful. There are soccer and volleyball courts, a public area for training, and a lifeguard. It's beautiful. It's true that last time we saw it dirtier, with lots of rusty metal beer caps, construction debris, and cigarette butts and plastic straws. It's a shame in that regard, which is why I'm giving it one star, but I still choose it because it's close to everything. If you go, be sure to buy coconut water from María; it's almost below the lifeguard's house. Ask Gerson for caipis; they're some of the kindest, most attentive, and caring people on the second beach; they're always on the lookout. As of September 2025, we'll pay 15 R for coconut water, 25 R for caipi, 15 R for grilled cheese, and 5 R for a mineral water, just to give you an idea of the prices. We tried the ice cream with vodka, which was delicious and cost 10 R. There's a public shower to rinse off the sea water and sand. They put hoses with water from the hotel and public roads up to the beach chairs so you don't burn your feet. It's true that there are a lot of different people talking, but since this is Argentina, this seems normal to me; it doesn't bother me too much.

Holiday apartment rental
Hotel
Farofa Loca Hostel is a renowned accommodation option in Morro de Sao Paulo, situated just minutes away from the beautiful Praia do Porto de Cima. The hostel offers various amenities such as a pool, rooms with balconies, laundry service, free Wi-Fi, and parking. It provides mixed dormitories as well as female-only dorms. The hostel's communal kitchen allows budget-conscious travelers to save on meals while enjoying clean and comfortable rooms with privacy curtains on the beds.
A world class beach hostel. The owners Ronny and Roberto are gems and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean, there are privacy curtains on the beds, and the pool/courtyard makes for a great place to meet other guests. The breakfast is quite possibly the best I’ve ever had in a hostel. During non-covid times, there are frequent events to bring guests together. Even during covid, the hostel felt like a community. Perhaps best of all, there is a cute wiener dog named Farofa! Note that you have to walk about 10 minutes from the center, including through some sand, so if you have rolling luggage or heavy bags, it may be a bit unpleasant. I enjoyed feeling like I was in the jungle even though we were close to the action.

Felt harassed by the owner, who texted me on my private number after leaving review on Booking. Beware of this hostel, rating on booking/google seems way too high.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, the hostel is 10 min away from the center but in a calm environment
Lucas M — Google review
Cool hostel with nice environment, Only 2 downsides is that it’s far from the city and you have to walk through mud to get there and the second downside is that the AC is turned on from 8PM to 8AM which is very stupid cause it’s Moro here most people go to sleep at 8AM 😆
Ohad R — Google review
Very rude owner who can't take aboard negative feedback, contacted on WhatsApp very agressively after leaving a review on Booking.com. Wouldn't recommend this hostel.
Shane S — Google review
Very social hostel with nice staff! The walk to the hostel is super nice with all the trees.
Remona V — Google review
Too bad the staff cannot manage a very minor incident (the fact that they forgot to put the AC 1 degree hotter as agreed in the morning and that my bed sheet had disappeared), without being agressive and patronizing 👎

Buda Beach is a popular beach bar with multiple locations across Brazil, including one in Barra Grande, Bahia. It's known for its unique blend of Thai elements and Brazilian beach aesthetics, making it stand out as one of the best bars in Morro de Sao Paulo. The restaurant has a mystical vibe and is located right on the Second Beach, offering outdoor and indoor seating with breathtaking ocean views.
Excellent food. Good service. Tip: make a reservation for dinner paying R$100 in advance which will be part of the whole payment. Pick front table to enjoy live music. Steak with risotto and fries are delicious. Ordinary beer bottle for R$16.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Garapua. Not quite as popular as Morro de São Paulo, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

5a Praia - do Encanto, also known as "Quinta Praia" in Morro de Sao Paulo, is the perfect spot for those seeking tranquility and seclusion. It's situated about 5km from the 2nd beach and can be reached by walking along the 4th beach, crossing a mangrove and a small river. Visitors can also opt for a cart ride to get there.

(Translated by Google) The beach is beautiful! Far from the hustle and bustle of the beaches near the village of Morro, with few options for stopping for a beer or snacks, the strip of sand at low tide is beautiful, contrasting with the blue sky. It's a shame to have found so much plastic, an absurd amount, in the mangrove at the end of the beach. It's sad. (Original) A praia é linda! (Translated by Google) The beach is very quiet, completely different from the other beaches in Morro de São Paulo (which are always very crowded and busy...). I stayed at this beach for a short time, just to get to know it, but I don't recommend it for anyone who wants to swim because it's very shallow. I walked for a while and the water didn't go above my ankles (at high tide).

3.7
(18)
Hiking area
Trilha de Gamboa até Morro de São Paulo offers a unique experience on the island, with colorful sandstone cliffs and the opportunity for a clay bath. The 25-minute walk from the pier to Gamboa de Morro is an option, but it's important to check the tide schedule for this activity. Alternatively, you can take a trail through the village for a different perspective.
(Translated by Google) Difficult trail at the beginning. Very steep and with many holes. After a while it becomes easier. (Original) Trilha difícil no início. Muito íngreme e com muitos buracos . Depois de um tempo fica mais tranquilo.

(Translated by Google) I followed the route suggested by the maps, leaving the center of Morro and heading towards Gamboa. At the beginning you enter some residential streets, some of which are very rough and have cobblestone streets. At the end it gets really complicated when you enter the forest, as it is steep and there is not much support. The route I followed on the maps did not take me past any waterfalls or beautiful landscapes. I thought it was not worth taking this route, it is better to wait for the tide to go down and go along the beach.

(Translated by Google) Very dangerous trail, we didn't find anyone else on the trail doing the same route. Up to a certain point you pass through a residential area... then you enter a dirt road without any signs/signs. The trail gets worse when you enter the forest (extremely narrow path, with slippery spots and different parts of the trail). I believe that before it was an easy trail to do, because there was an establishment/lookout point at the top of the hill (according to the locals), but today it is no longer in operation. I do not recommend the trail! We did it because we imagined it would be something else It took us about 1 hour and we only finished it because we came across locals before starting the forest part, who advised us to "always go right". p.s.: it wasn't always right!!!

Gamboa is on the left side of the port of the village and there are more than one way to get here, so there is no excuse not to visit. To get from Morro to Gamboa on foot, you can follow the trail that starts at Rua da Fonte, near the central square of Morro de São Paulo. Going on foot is great for those who like to walk and enjoy nature, as the trail is more surprising than the beach. To go to Gamboa on foot, you should go at low tide, so it will be easier. One hour before leaving, check if the tide is low, to do this, consult the tide table. Leave Morro de São Paulo on foot, following the “banho de barro” sign. I arrived in Gamboa without any effort on the walk, as the trail is quite moderate. Primeira Praia is a favorite spot for surfers, offering the perfect conditions for surfing, scuba diving, kitesurfing, and water skiing. It's also home to Brazil's largest sea descent zipline at 57 meters high, providing panoramic views of Morro. The beach has shallow waters with beautiful shades of blue and is close to the main avenue of Morro de Sao Paulo. Families can enjoy the Northeastern sun here while having access to various bars and restaurants.

(Translated by Google) The place is simply wonderful, but be prepared to pay. It's best to stay for at least two days, but a day trip is also worth it. It's worth going by car and taking the ferry to Itaparica (1h10). Then drive for another 80 minutes to the pier and take a boat to Morro. Do your research because the prices of food and drinks vary a lot. We stayed at Sambass, but you'll have to pay a lot of money there. For four people to have lunch, it was R$600.00. As I said, everything there is expensive. It's worth going to Praia do Forte. Less travel time means better use.

Observation deck
Mirante do Farol de Morro de São Paulo offers stunning views similar to Toca do Morcego, but with the added benefit of free access. The short hike up the hill leads to a wooden platform overlooking the sea, providing a privileged vantage point for sunset. For a more relaxed experience, explore the historic center, swim in crystal-clear waters, savor local cuisine, and visit the lighthouse viewpoint. Adventurous visitors can also enjoy activities like ziplining.
What a location. Magic as the whole town

(Translated by Google) A beautiful sunset, almost moving. The view is beautiful and worth the effort of the walk. Access is via a trail through the forest with improvised stairs, there is mud on the path and it is poorly lit, so don't leave there too late. There are no signs of the path, so keep going left to get to the viewpoint. There is a wooden structure to observe the sea, there is also a vendor selling drinks and from time to time a singer with a guitar. Be aware that there may be people smoking a cigarette. (Original) Pôr do sol lindíssimo, quase emocionante. A vista é linda e vale a pena o esforço do caminho.
We had a lovely experience in Casarão. The service was excellent: the waitress indicated which food was vegan and vegetarian and was very professional and friendly and the hostess was very nice too. We loved the live music and the terrace overlooking the main square gives a nice view. We had the veggy curry which was delicious.

Amazing from start to finish. It’s a fancy place, but they welcomed us anyway even though we came with a toddler, which is not the case everywhere. They have a high chair, crayons and a coloring book for kids. The food itself was spectacular. We ordered the pumpkin pastry as a starter, as well as yakisoba with meat and pasta with fish. All of it absolutely delicious. Of course it’s on the pricier side, but the food is absolutely worth it 😊

One of the best meals I have had in the year 2025. Probably the best. We went two nights in a row because I couldn’t think of a place more enjoyable. The food is honestly incredible, the vibe is elite, but the service is truly exceptional. Multiple times my wife remarked how good the service was. Nicolas was really terrific both nights, as well as his coworkers. Would recommend to anyone !

The place is the oldest building still standing on the island - yet renovated, so looking pristine! The food was also amazing! We got the Camarão O Casarão and the Badejo Fillet with noodles (Italian chef kiss to how delicious they were)! The chef's mix of Brazilian, Peruvian and Asian cuisine is just W-O-W!!! Definitely worth a stop if you're on the island 😁

It was an amazing and surprising experience eating at Casarão, as we were looking for somewhere to eat a good sea food and what called our attention was the mix of cousines we love, as Iived in Asia and visited and tried some of the best Thailand, Vietnamese and to add the Latin flavor from Peru and Brazil. We had a perfect and different ceviche, and as main course an amazing dish with prawns with a curry dendê sauce which mixes everything we love!

Bahia Delicia is a charming spot with great snacks and pizza. Visitors have enjoyed the excellent hamburgers, french fries, and service. While some found the prices comparable to those in Morro, others appreciated the value for money. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff, like Fabiane, added to the positive experience. However, there was a slight disappointment when a local beer turned out to be from Campos do Jordao instead of being truly local.

(Translated by Google) Worst experience we've ever had at a restaurant! We were taken in by the guy at the door, offering us a chance to come in and try it. The view is really nice, but it doesn't justify the food we were served: messy rice, cold beans, tough meat, and the highlight was the fish-tasting fries. 🤢 Just thinking about it makes me sick! We paid over $150 for two dishes that we didn't eat. We went to another restaurant for lunch, which had never happened before. We were extremely frustrated. Ficamos extremamente frustrados.

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, the experience was very bad. The rice was poorly cooked, flavorless, the beans were cold, the meat was of questionable quality, and even the fries, which we thought would at least be a saving grace, tasted like fish because they were cooked in the same fat. In other words, nothing about the meal was good. To make matters worse, the bill was R$155.00 for a simple dish, and we couldn't even eat a third of it, it was so bad. For the price charged, the least we could have done was to have well-prepared food with care. We left disappointed, hungry, and with the feeling of having wasted money. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

Barraca Carapitangui, also known as Aderno's place, is a beautiful and isolated spot located on the 5th beach of Morro de São Paulo. The stall serves spectacular food including their specialty, fish baked on banana leaf. Visitors can enjoy grilled octopus and refreshing drinks with generous portions.

(Translated by Google) One of the coolest things I've done when I've been to Morro de São Paulo/Ilha de Tinharé. In this case, you need to be willing to walk and leave early to make the most of the day on one of the best beaches in the region. I say this because the most worthwhile thing to do is, regardless of which beach you're staying at, walk to 5º Praia and enjoy the stunning views and incredible sun. And I say this because one of the biggest advantages of this tent is the transfer back to the reception, meaning you can walk without fear because even though it's far away, the return is guaranteed and at no additional cost. I was staying at 3º Praia and it was about an hour and a half walk to 5º Praia, about 5.5km of easy walking, with stops for diving and photos. The best way, without a doubt, is along the beach and it's well worth it. When we got to "Praia do Encanto", we stayed at this tent and it was great. The beach wasn't crowded, which is always good. The service at the beach bar is great, with cold water and beer and a table/hammock available. The place doesn't charge table rental and has a minimum consumption of R$60.00, a very reasonable and completely acceptable price, which is different from some places on the 1st, 2nd and even 3rd beach in Morro. This consumption price is quickly exceeded at any time when visiting a beach and beach bar like these, so it was very ok. Obviously, the beach was spectacular. Warm water, waves, lots of sun and a lot of peace. At lunchtime, we decided to eat fish baked in banana leaves (180 BRL) and it was truly delicious. Very well made, cooked to perfection, with plantain, great and fluffy rice and a beautiful farofa with plantain that is one of the best things in the region. Any restaurant that serves plantain farofa gets points. The fish, again, was delicious and had a lot of meat, serving 2 people very well. We definitely enjoyed it a lot and would go back again and again. Don't miss out on this tour and the stall, as it's well worth the cost-benefit. The bill, for 2 people with drinks, was around 290 BRL.

Protected by corals, it forms a pool at low tide, with warm, crystal-clear waters and lots of little fish. Bring a mask and snorkel so you can make the most of it.

(Translated by Google) Great beach for swimming at low tide, it forms some deep pools, but emptier than the other beaches, a short walk from the port, worth a visit.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful beach that provides a feeling of peace and a place untouched by humans, I felt a sense of peace and the water, in addition to being a super pleasant temperature, is a perfect blue-green, natural pools full of marine life.

(Translated by Google) A paradisiacal place with a dynamic landscape, which transforms depending on the altitude of the tide. The natural pools are visible when the tide is low, as it rises nature subtly invites us to retreat. Excellent place for diving and being enchanted by the coral life.

Fortress
Fortaleza do Tapirandu, also known as the Fort, is a historical site in Morro de Sao Paulo that offers not only stunning views but also a glimpse into the past. Visitors can enjoy a free sunset experience at this scenic spot located next to the port. The fort attracts locals, residents, and tourists who gather in the late afternoon to witness the breathtaking sunset. There are even reports of dolphins frolicking in the sea as the sun sets right in front of the fort.
Great place to see the sunset. It’s not so crowded (unlike Mirante do Farol), which makes it the best choice if you want some privacy. Also, there’s a small beach nearby.

(Translated by Google) The fortress is abandoned, but the view from the place is nice. Next to it are natural pools with warm and clean waters. To get to the place you have to go along the path next to the pier at the entrance to the hill.

(Translated by Google) A great place to enjoy the sunset. It has practically the same view as Toca do Morcego and is free. We even saw several dolphins in the sea nearby, which made the experience magical. The path is quiet but dark after dark. The interior of the fortress is closed, which is a shame because it would make an excellent museum or restaurant.
