Best resort ever! The room was so comfortable and had an incredible beach vibe, the whole place is breathtaking and service is excellent. There’s a resort coach that takes you to the other beaches and island center every 20 mins (not sure, but good frequency and it’s free). The breakfast is one of the best I have ever had in a hotel/resort, simply delicious 10/10. Had an excellent massage, where you can hear the ocean during it, felt like heaven. Plenty of activities to do besides just enjoying the pool, walk on the beach, yoga… best place to stay in morro de São Paulo!

Beautiful resort on a clean, private beach. If you know what you are getting into, this resort is fabulous. They have plenty of amenities (paddle boards, masseuse, swim up pool) and a friendly staff. I would not recommend it for foreigners or anyone that does not speak Portuguese. The resort is a 40 minute walk (along the beach) from the main town and their shuttle only goes into town 4-5x a day. If you want to be near nightlife or more than one restaurant option, stay at a pousada in town. They are also a family friendly place, but that means there are lots of children and few young couples. The restaurant is fine, but town has better dining options. If you want a nice beach and a relaxing, self contained environment, this is the place for you. If you want to explore, meet people, try different cuisine and party a bit, I'd suggest elsewhere.

I Hated this Hotel. Underwhelmed from the moment I arrived.  The photos are 5 times better then the property.  The landscape,  rooms, location  and staff are underwhelming to say the least. When I booked this hotel was twice the price of most of the hotels. I was expecting something luxurious. This hotel isn't luxurious. If you come as a foreign tourist from a developed country you will be disappointed in what I would rate an upscale motel. Not a hotel or resort.  I paid twice the price of the average hotel on the island only to wish I had booked a cheaper one. If you are coming as a couple you will be disappointed. If come looking for fun you will be disappointed. If come looking for a place for kids to run around this is the place. The one thing I will say is if you love kids or have kids this place might fit your needs. There are tons of kids running around and in the pool. The hotel has a lot of kid activities. Other then that's I would suggest any foreign tourist avoid this property. The lawn and grounds aren't particularly beautiful or well landscaped. Dead grass in lots of area and no flowers. Really its just not nice. The beach is nothing spectacular or anything to rave about.  I saw much nicer beaches on the way to the property. The property is isolated and hard to find. It would be nice if they could have sent some pre checkin advice or shuttle info or had a information area at the boat landing. It would be nice if they told you they had a shuttle.  Sent you the times and told you were to meet it. Would also be nice if they had some to meet you since they charge twice what other hotels charge. The location is just bad. Not around anything and not on a beautiful beach. Even though it is isolated its not relaxing because the house next door has a professional dj planting loud music for 9 hours a day. I would suggest as a foreign tourist since the beach isn't great hear stay at one of the hotel in the beach area with some life. The pool is nice but not as nice as the pictures and the music is blasting. The front desk and staff isn't very helpful or very friendly. I didn't enjoy this place. Towels: only in your room not at the pool. Insects: Can almost guarantee you will have them in your room. The Lobby is hot and outdoors a welcome drink woukd be nice. Internet: You are better off just considering there is none. The Noise level was horrible for an area thats supposed to be relaxing. The hotel is located next to a house the blast exceptionally loud music all day. Great place for families. I would suggest everyone else avoid.

Great hotel! Could have got 5stars if: some activities need extra payment (when hotel price is that much, everything should be included), girls in charge of the kids club, one was very unpleasant with the kids and the other was just perfect even though our girls was less than 5years. The other girl could have used a bit if diplomacy, just to bad for such hotel. There is a shutlle which is very old state bus, again for such a hotel it is not what you're expecting. For the rest rooms are big and clean, breakfast is huge (with flies..:( , swimming pool is great for kids, private beach, etc...

I really miss the birds from there 😭 The red rumped Cacique was amazing, nesting on coco trees... and the Great kiskadee ahhhh and all the little ones 😭😭😭😭 - A true Tropical Paradise! Breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Seriously! And very hygienic layout without mixing vegetarian with meat and with properly labelled gluten-free etc. Their cheese and palmito quiche was 😘 🤤 ❤️ This stay was a dream

I had an incredible stay at Village Paraíso Tropical and can’t recommend it enough! The hotel itself is stunning, with everything perfectly arranged for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. However, what truly impressed me was the kindness and friendliness of the staff—they made my experience unforgettable. A special shoutout to Miriah at reception, who is an absolute gem! She communicated with my friend and me in excellent English, making the whole process smooth and welcoming. She not only helped with check-in, payments, and answering our questions but also showed us to our room with such positivity and a warm smile. Hotel being refurbished (new reception and rooms)rooms very old hotel needs updating or modernising swimming pool needs maintenance or redecoration. (Overall needs good painting ). What I don't understand, resturante is the first thing you see of the hotel (did not know a hotel existed, no signs. Good breakfast, staff very friendly, good location in quiet not far from all restaurants and bars,beds old but comfortable . The only thing bad about Brazil is they don't have maintenance done to their roads, hotels ,shops etc

The pousadas on the way to the hotel looked a lot nicer. We entered the room and we were surprised to realise that there is a desk, but no chair, which was inconveniencing as I had to work on the computer during my stay. Additionally, there was no hand soap in the bathroom, which has never happened to us before, especially during COVID. We informed the receptionist and they said they will sort this out the next day, but they DIDN'T. Some buildings are under construction so the view from our room and in the surrounding area looks like a construction site. (photos attached) They CHARGE 50 REAIS to use the GYM. I have never experienced something like this before in any of the hotels I have been to. The turn off function of the remote of the A/C stopped working so we had to keep unplugging it from the wall. The rooms are very basic and the general ambience of the resort is not great. There is someone at the reception between Our bungalow was located 6 minutes on foot from the hotel entrance, as the resort is quite large. The hotel is located at the third beach and there is nothing there at night, but you can get to the second beach which is busy in about 10-15 minutes, depending on where your bungalow is located. You need to walk about 15-20 minutes to get to the village and 20-25 minutes to get to the dock where you get off upon arriving at the island. The "beach" in front of the hotel is tiny, but convenient if you want to go on tours as they take off there. On the bright side, the breakfast was very nice as was the swimming pool (although there is no bar tender at the pool bar after 6pm). The internet worked fine for the most part, we had about 20-40MBPS most of the time.

Hands down one of the best pousadas I've stayed in Morro de Sao Paulo. Beautiful lobby and pool area. The breathtaking view to just revel in all day and night. Very close to the port of arrival, and after a few hours of driving and a short speedboat ride its a bonus as its just a few minutes walk to reach this place. The restaurant has one of the best cook ever from the assortment of local pastries to any type of eggs you want they can make it! its a lot of food for one person but I managed to finished it all lol as it all very delicious! to top it all..the dinner had which was the pasta with Prawns?? omg..to die for! simply delicious! the staff are very well trained and very friendly which makes the whole experience complete..I will not hesitate to stay here again the next time. 6 stars.

Didnt get the best room, but if you are lucky you can have an amazing view. The breakfast is good and the wifi very decent. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. Very close to the ferry terminal and the city center

Great place to watch the sunset, drink a really cold beer and enjoy some food. Internet connection could be better, though. Cheaper than Toca do Morcego and almost same view, with a lot less people. All in all, me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the place.

Best option in Morro if you want to stay close to restaurants/bars. Great swimming pool and bar by the pool. It also has the best restaurant in town - fresh food, super tasty, great breakfast. There are a few issues though, which really bugged me to the point I gave it a 3 stars. But this could easily be a 5 star review 1. We booked two rooms. One of the rooms was a garden room for 2 adults and 2 kids (the other one was an ocean front for 2 adults). When we got to the hotel, the garden room had nothing to do with what the website displayed. The room was dark, small, full of bugs and claustrophobic. We were able to move to another room that was the same type of the oceanfront room we had originally booked. We had to pay the full fare difference but it was worth it. If we had stayed at the bad garden room, the stay would have been miserable. The new room was very loud though. A delivery boat would park in front of it every day at 5am and wake us up. 2. This is not an ultra expensive hotel but it is pricy for the island. I didn’t enjoy some nickel and dime items, such as putting chocolates on our beds during the day and then charging 5 BRL for each one of them for every day. The beach towel control also seemed too much 3. Service could be better, especially at restaurant and pool bar. They were super nice people but it would take forever to get a drink or an order done. I’m talking about 30 minutes for a drink, even when we were the only ones by the pool. Again, probably the best option in town. I would go back here if this means anything. I just want to provide a good feedback to the place so management can make it be a solid 5 star option

Spectacular! The full attention to details, the concern with the environment, little surprises (good ones) along the way, very tidy and well maintained, pleasant staff, well located (not too close not too far from the centre) and amazing breakfast! It would only be better if it didn’t have to leave!

Great hotel in a great location. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is outstanding. Go to the pool upstairs, enjoy the view and try their cocktails! However there are couple of issues: The walls in the room are smeared with mosquitos... The hotel stuff doesn't inform you of the hotels activities, so you don't have any idea if something is going on unless you specifically ask about it... Couple of times we stumbled upon an issue that there aren't enough beach towels. A hotel at that level should be prepared with towels for all of the guests...

We arrived late on a Friday night, and after waiting a few minutes got a table. It took them forever to take our order and clean the table (possibly short staffed at the time?) but once the food arrived we were very impressed. We had the cilantro fish with potatoes, and the filé mignon and saffron risoto. Both were great, though just shy of perfection: the fish was a little dry, possibly because we asked for it without salt, and the filé mignon was more done than I’d asked for. That said, everything tasted great, and the live music gave a nice a,Bierce without being overwhelming. Would definitely recommend!

Staff is friendly, spacious rooms with a view to the beach. Good location, just a bit away from the city to get some quiet. They have a spa that offers massages, a gym and an infinity pool. Pricy compared to the rest but worth it.

The place is beautiful, and the crew also very nice. But they maintain all the time the place it was really noisy. They also created a new path to my room while I was there. A bit disturbing.

Not a great experience at all, We had a Poor service at the restaurant, they were busy talking with each other than serving. There were more staff than customers but poor service. The caipirosca didnt have alcohol was a plain expensive juice. We returned everyday to be in the swimming pool but avoided the restaurant area. No internet for a day in the hotel and no one let us know until I asked later in the afternoon and they said was no internet. Game room has one broken football table only this broken table as game room and nothing was mentioned when we arrived but they advertised that the hotel has a game room and this is was one of the reasons to choose this hotel to have something to entertain my kids. So don’t expect much from it if you have kids and want to entertain them. The first night 2 bed clothing were dirty requested new ones but again why need to ask for something that was paid for and I changed the bed clothes myself, not good experience again. Room where far from the main reception needing the transport the hotel provides but waited most of the time longer than expected so needed to walk a long way on a poor road condition, even by the transport they provide the road is not good to go by the “car” is provided by the hotel, they need to fix the road or say that is a bad condition so we would know what to expect. I Asked reception to change our room and they excuse was i paid cheep for the rooms, even when I said I would be happy to pay more for a closer place the guy in reception didnt show interested to help as I went online to see if other rooms could be booked for the nights we were there and still some available but he didn’t help at all in any time I asked a question. The breakfast they need to see how to sort In the check out I honestly didnt understand much when said that we used the hand towel as a floor carpet. I used that one was on the top of the toilet but was no point to say nothing . I didn’t give the keys to clean the room and put the sign to dont clean the room but still the room got cleaned not sure how works as they do oposit. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this hotel, I wanted to have fun and relax and I don’t like to complain but I would not come back here.

Great rooms with a lot of space and good sound isolation, just a few steps from the beach. I stayed at the 4th beach, which is more isolated and prettier than the 3rd beach but has the downside of lacking a restaurant, so you need to go to the one at the 4th beach. The hotel provides a small transport service between beaches upon request with no usage limits. One specific downside: there was a wedding scheduled for the same weekend, so the hotel's resources were focused on this event. One particular night, the hotel failed to respond to a request for dinner, and when they did, the kitchen was already closed, with the justification that they were "solving things for the bride." I would advise checking that there is no wedding scheduled during your stay (unless you are the one getting married).

We stayed at Caeira last week during 3 days, we had a standard room on the fourth beach, I'll start with the pros (the reason for the 4 stars): - very, very friendly staff (some of them speak English but not all) - location is amazing with a beautiful domain and beach. - outdoor facilities are great the cons: - basically the room itself: dirty sheets when we checked-in, malfunctioning shower, very hard mattress - breakfast at the 4th beach wasn't kept cool, so the ham, cheese, orange juice, ... got warm which can't be good. Choice was pretty limited.

Um pouco longe do Centro nas vale a pena por isso. A bit far from the center but worth it.

Let’s start with the highlight: the location is absolutely excellent—just perfect. You’re right in the heart of everything and only a few meters from the beach. It’s truly amazing and sets the tone for the stay. The rooftop swimming pool is exactly as shown in the pictures, if not better. It’s more suited for relaxation than actual swimming, but it delivers the experience you’d expect. Plus, having drinks served directly to the pool is a nice touch. The service overall was very good, but my only feedback would be regarding the bar by the pool. One staff member was running between the kitchen, beach, and bar, which is clearly a poor labor-saving decision. Adding an extra person would drastically improve service efficiency. The rooms were nice and clean, but towards the end of our stay, our room developed a bad sewage-like smell, which was unpleasant. The reception area was another letdown—it’s too small and looks cheap, giving a rather average first impression. Additionally, there was only one staff member trying to juggle multiple tasks, which negatively impacted check-in and overall service. It’s clear that management does not prioritize customer experience as much as they should. The worst part of our stay was definitely the breakfast. It was one of the worst I’ve had in a hotel—everything tasted average, and the ingredients seemed cheap. The food was just OK, but it didn’t meet expectations given the otherwise beautiful setting. Overall, while the location and setting of Pousada Bahia Tambor are fantastic, small issues like staffing, room maintenance, and breakfast quality make a big difference. These are easily fixable and, if addressed, could take the guest experience to another level.

Ok Let’s start with the positive points. it’s and Amazing Location on the beach , New Rooms, Clean, Bigg, and design. But Never, ever took the room on the Ground Floor, because It s extremly noisy. The pool was like a kindergarfeb with everyone having its one music… impossible to relax. Service is ok

Location is top-tier, in front of the 2nd beach. Rooms are adequate. 4-stars level. The only thing that could be better is the check-in service. Very convoluted and unnecessarily complex. Lots of redundant information being given. The whole process is very long. But once that’s done, you can ignore most of their suggestions and carry on to have a good time at the establishment and the beach :)

We only know if a hotel and/or a service is good when everything goes wrong and that`s what happened with me. I stayed at Pousada Bahia Tambor for 4 nights with my family (my husband and my parents). In the first night, I realized the AC was not working properly or it stopped working (I do not know) and my bed (extra large) was "sinking" just in the middle (between the two top beds). In the early morning I spoke with Monica (the brunette one) and she said - "do not worry. I will handle it." And she really did! When I came back after two hours everything was working perfectly. Thank you Monica! Btw, there is two "Monicas" working in the reception (a blond and a brunette). And I would like to thank both of them because they are both very responsible and they really work to make this hotel working well. Not only, they are very human persons. The hotel location is perfect - just beside second beach (where the party is), but far enough to have a quite time. The hotel is beautiful, clean, bedrooms are also beautiful and simple. The swimming pool is absolutely gorgeous. There is a bar that they can serve finger food and drink on the swimming pool area. Breakfast was ok. Definitely I would suggest the owner to work on the breakfast. It was not bad, but could be better. And my last advise is - please, please, give your guests Bath salt if they get a a bedroom with bathtub!!! Or at least have it to sell because there is no place to buy Bath Salt in Morro de Sao Paulo. I got a bedroom with bathtub and I was not able to use it. What a waste! I really hope that you listen my advise! Overall I absolutely recommend this charming hotel.

This supposed to be one of the newest hotels in the island but it looks like it was built with low budget room key is the old type, tv with one local channels not a smart tv, the double bed wasn’t comfortable it seemed that mattress based on two single bed frames.at the reception it was hard to find some one who speaks English they don’t make an effort to understand in like other hotels where they use translation app.on our last day we went to have breakfast early at 7:30 but the buffet wasn’t ready till 7:45 and they were missing the cheese plate until we left at 8:05.my impression this hotel had no manager on site to run.

I usually have lunch at the restaurant, when I have the time,but the entire place is running by friends with excellent taste and experience. I am very satisfied with the good food and the service of the place are very pleasant.

It has a great pool (they actually threw a small pool party till 23:00 one of the nights we stayed) and a nice dining area that oversees a magical sunset! We had a 4person apartment with hammocks on our little porch (perfect!!!). They should definitely improve on the poor wifi service though, I got less than a Mbps downstream which made normal browsing semi impossible! There was a 3hour gap between our departure and leaving the room, but we could leave our luggage at the reception without any issues.

We loved our stay at Portaló. We stayed in the ‘Victor Hugo’ luxe chalet near the very top of the property, and it was well worth the upgrade for the privacy and the exceptional view over the water. Yes, there’s many steps to climb up from reception…but it was good exercise after so many moquecas! The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Special shout out to Katiane, the massage therapist, for her amazing hands and caring approach. I wish we’d stayed longer so we could have more massages with her! This is an ideal hotel for people who want to be away from the hectic main beaches. You can catch a taxi boat for 10 reais to Gamboa if you want to go to the beach without a long walk. Would definitely come back!

Está próxima também da entrada da cidade no Cais. Eu já estou com saudades de Morro pretendo voltar e se der certo será nesta pousada novamente.

Pousada Bahia Bacana stay in great localization at Morro de São Paulo. Close to gastronomic, commercial and cultural centers. Stays at Beach 1. The room which I rented was clean and had I really nice bed and view. Plus, the room had a Offuro, like a jacuzzi. The service is great too. The hotel team is efficient and very educated.

It is all in the details. This is a lovely place, but there are some minor issues that can distract you from the beauty. Why are there no rods in the "closest" to hang the clothes? Why is there laminate in the shower and throughout a room with a jacuzzi? That why most of the laminate was already buckling and they tried to repair it by putting more glue. Every time we walked on it, glue would come out the sides. Breakfast was okay and WiFi was weak in the second building. The bed was extremely firm. If you are there to party, enjoy. These little things won't matter. Here are my final comments/requests. Please place a trash can in the room, hooks on the outside of the shower and in the bathroom would be nice, and a privacy screen on the terrace that rolls up or down, depending on occupants need for privacy. The rooftop terrace has a nice view and the pool is a great temperature for swimming. Breakfast was good with rotating options and made to order omelettes and tapioca breakfast burritos. The location is perfect, seconds from the central town square and right next to an ATM. 10 minute walk to Second Beach. Our room was a little too small and the window faced an alley that had people yelling all night. The AC broke one day and they put us in a different room with working AC right away. This place is Heaven on Earth!!! Ibuave been fortunate enough to have traveled a fair bit of the world and I have to say this place is in my top 3 of most beautiful spots in the world!! While I cannot suggest this as a place to stay for anyone whom may have mobility difficulties, If you are able to deal with a fair hike up a large number of stairs (217, not including the portions where stairs turn into goat paths), you will be rewarded with the most beautiful views- both day and night! We stayed 4 nights here and wished we could stay forever!! The breakfast was absolutely out of this world and the staff were amazing and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The owner, Pepe and his family were very welcoming and there was no request too much to make. We would definitely recommend for those who want to have an amazing view and want to be close to the action in town, but far enough to get away and have some quiet.

Extremely helpful and service oriented family run hotel, in a very very beautiful setting. You will need some fitness 💪 to climb the 150 stairs to the hotel, but it is worth every step. Hotel has an outside pool and mainly small individual chalets, giving a lot of privacy.

She also send us someone to carry our luggage from the ferry to the Pousada. The deluxe suite we had was very tidy and spacious. There are also two hammocks on the balcony with a great view towards the sea. Overall I can only recommend this pousada. I can’t imagine any better place.

This awesome getaway place within palms and nature, off the tracks at a beautiful hillside, is run by a lovely German couple. Everything is taken care of and guests are treated as friends from the beginning. The breakfast (available until 11am!) is unbeatable with fresh juice, fruits, bread, homemade varieties and varies every day. Walking up to the limited amount of separate little apartments and pousada-buildings (hosting 1 up to 6 people, each equipped with mosquito-nets) is a bit of a hike, but you will never feel unsafe or left in the dark as the way is lid up. Both sides of the island are reachable by food so you can enjoy every beach whenever you like. You can be sure to have a five star stay at this hideaway in Morro!

I stayed at Colibri back in March for a week, I just loved it so much! The stairs are not as bad as people complain. The view and the staff are amazing! The challet was very clean and big. The breakfast was delicious every single day! To complete the amazing stay, I dont have enough words to describe what a wonderful person is the owner, Martha. From all my travels, this stay surpassed any other experience I ever had. It was just perfect!

Throughout the whole process José and Tanya were friendly and helpful. They helped arrange transport to the island and Alvino to help with our luggage to the accommodation even accommodating our ever changing plans. When we arrived we were greeted by a cool glass of water and then a caipirinha! The hotel is up a lot of stairs and you need to have some level of fitness. However, it was absolutely worth it. The views of the island were stunning. I absolutely loved being 10 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the centre but still having my oasis of calm. The rooms were clean and comfortable and each had a hammock to enjoy. The whole place felt super safe. Breakfast each morning was shared with local wildlife - we watched the hummingbirds and marmosets. Each morning there was fresh fruit, a juice, and coffee and eggs. Then a sweet and savory delights that changed each day. They staff were always friendly and helped cater to dietary requirements. Whilst there José helped arrange a boat tour and a place to watch the sunset. They advised on places to walk and places to eat.

The place is beautiful and the owners are so cool! Also, this is the best place to avoid the crowd and loud music at Morro de São Paulo.

Just coming off of Covid19 restriction, this hotel wasn't as up to date for the price they charged. The rooms were adequate, but not magical. Lots of damage all around, the closet was breaking, the railing on the stairs was broken/dangerous. The pool closed, even though the other hotel pools were open. Over all, disappointing. The good, the staff was excellent, very helpful, and breakfast was very good. Overall, I would definitely select another hotel for my next visit.

The 4-bed room (beds, locker, washroom) could be better. The bed and the locker are really small and the shower was broken in the first night but they got it changed after we warned that . Get your spanish ready cause most of the guests are Argentinean. The staff is really nice.

I checked in today and want to share my initial and fresh feedback: Upon arrival the receptionist took > 25 minutes to serve 4 clients and I was the last. Very slow! My room and others were not or only partially ready (it was 2 pm which is the guaranteed check in time). In my room, there were no towels and bedsheets. They promised to do it soon. When I returned 2h later at 4:10 pm, nothing was done and I heavily complained at the reception about this poor customer service. When the bed was done, I had to ask for towels again. I really enjoyed the stay in this place it was magical , all i can say is if you want to connect with nature and fall in love with nature this is the place where you have to go . The owners are very nice people , they also gave me a lot of info where to eat like restaurants and places to visit . My husband and I love this place and will visit again . ;)
