Chisinau

Chișinău is the capital of Eastern Europe's Republic of Moldova. Amid blocks of Soviet-style architecture are landmarks including the neoclassical Nativity Cathedral. The dome-topped church anchors Chișinău's Cathedral Park, a plaza with a Triumphal Arch celebrating Russia's 19th-century victory over the Ottoman Empire. Stephen the Great Central Park is named for a Moldovan prince who resisted Ottoman rule.

The park is telling you the story.... Historic place, indeed and very popular too. Great spot for meeting and socialising with friends and family. Lovely atmosphere; welcoming bars and restaurants on your way, while walking along the alley surrounded by the memorial busts of the national heroes. Just have your cake and enjoy it. Beautiful park right in the centre of the city.
A lovely garden opposite the Metropolitan Cathedral. You can have a walk or rest on a bench and admire the busts of famous people.
Beautiful and well-maintained park in the heart of Chisinau. The Alley of Classics is a highlight — a peaceful stroll through history and culture. A must-visit spot!
Stephen the Great Central Park in Chișinău, Moldova, is a beautiful and historic urban oasis. It's the city's oldest park, featuring lush greenery, the Avenue of Classics with busts of literary figures, and the grand monument to Stephen the Great. It's a vibrant spot for relaxation, cultural exploration, and community events, offering a delightful escape in the heart of the city.
The place is very upscale and wonderful. I think it is suitable for walking and relaxing, and it is also suitable for families. There are many delicious cafes.
Central Park in Chișinău is very charming and cozy. It's clean, tidy, and well-maintained. The fountain is working, and there are some lovely little cafés around.
Restful, clean, and lovely park with a Colorado of busts and Puskin statue.
Beautiful! Very chill. Even better to come at night and enjoy the lights and peace and quiet.

5-Star Review for Milestii Mici Winery Visiting Milestii Mici was nothing short of magical. As the world’s largest winery, it absolutely lives up to its reputation and then some. The moment you enter the underground labyrinth, you’re transported into a different world — over 200 kilometers of tunnels lined with the most exquisite wines you can imagine. It’s not just a tour; it’s an experience that blends history, tradition, and sheer grandeur. The guides were knowledgeable and passionate, offering fascinating insights into the winemaking process and the unique characteristics of Moldovan wines. The wine tasting was a highlight — every sip told a story, and the selections were both diverse and top-quality. Their collection of rare vintage bottles is truly impressive, and the atmosphere of the tasting halls carved in limestone adds an unforgettable charm. If you’re a wine lover, Milestii Mici is an absolute must-visit. It’s not just the scale that impresses, but the authenticity, the warmth of the people, and the pride in every bottle. A world-class destination — five stars without a doubt!
Great tour! I went on a Friday, the basic tour was 350 and included a 750ml bottle of sparkling wine. The tickets were sold out online, so I just showed up hoping they would have space (they are also on whatsapp, though not very quick to respond). They accept credit card too. The tour guide was knowledgeable and the labyrinth of the cellar is pretty amazing. I didn't do a wine tasting, but did buy some chocolate in the gift shop. Great experience! I was able to find a public transit van/bus that goes to the town, but drops you at the main road intersection (about a 10 to 15 minute walk until you get to the office to buy a ticket).
Walking through Mileștii Mici felt surreal—like entering an underground city of wine. Endless tunnels carved into the limestone stretch for miles, stacked with bottles that look more like a treasure hoard than a cellar. The cool air, the dim light, and the sheer scale make it an experience as much as a tasting. The wines themselves are smooth and approachable, especially paired with the traditional snacks they serve. It’s one of those places where you don’t just drink the wine—you feel the history bottled in every glass.
Visiting Milestii Mici Winery is a must for anyone traveling to Moldova. I was truly impressed by the vastness and overall condition of the tunnels. The tour takes place in an electric car that drives through the underground galleries, stopping several times to explore. The cellars are absolutely stunning, and the English tour provides a great insight into their history.
The biggest wine cellar in the world, with more than 200 km of tunnels. The visit is a fantastic experience: you go into the mine with a little car and explore the caves where they store the wine. We booked the lunch inside the caves with wine tasting. It's a crazy experience. The price is not so expensive for what they offer. We even got a bottle of wine as a gift!
Strongly recommend making if you're in Chisinau When you arrive, check in at the main building by the trains. Options: The 'Hai, Noroc' package was perfect for us - 3 large glasses of wine with some cured meat. We had our own table, and stayed there for 45 mins. It's a great atmosphere - the love music was great (small tips optional). Transport: We took a Yandex from Chisinau (120mld). To return, you can walk to the main road (5 mins) and wait for a marshrutka to Chisinau (20mld per person). Yandex is out of range
Nice winery but the tour is kind of short and should be improved. Beautiful tasting room. The bottle of champagne as a gift has a great taste.
Visited on a Sunday. The wine tour is good and very informative. Food tastes good. Two talented musicians made it even better.

Beautiful garden to the north west of the city. Lots of trees, including magnolias and many more, flowers (tulips, daffodils, pansies). You can reach the garden with the trolleybus nr. 22 which it takes about 20 minutes from the city centre (trolleybus stop: Strada Ștefan Neaga). The ride on the trolleybus is 6 lei and the entrance to the garden is 10 lei (adults).
Great place for walking. There are a lot of paths and this allows you to disperse visitors. There is a feeling that you walk yourself. ;)
One of my favorite places in Chisinau, Moldova, is the Arboretum! We come there year-round to relax and admire the nature. There's a lot of greenery, beautiful shrubs and trees, and plenty of flower beds. The lake is full of fish, and you can feed them from the platform. There are several playgrounds for children, and many come with their families.
Dendrarium Park is a beautiful, green oasis in Chișinău and an absolute must-visit for anyone seeking peace. The park is exceptionally clean and very well-maintained, perfect for a long, quiet walk. It is entirely fenced off, adding to the feeling of security and order. The entrance fee is symbolically low (only 10 MDL) for adults, and children are admitted free, making it excellent value. One important note: The park is not illuminated in the evening. If you plan to stay past sunset, bring a flashlight—or stick to a daytime visit unless you enjoy a truly mysterious, dark stroll! Overall: Highly recommended for relaxation, nature walks, and escaping the city noise. Just respect the sunset!
Great big park, 10 MDL to enter, but there you got a lot of ground to cover. You can sit on the grass, have a picnic, go to a yoga class. The toilet is free and you don't have a store or coffee shop there, so make sure you bring your own water or to eat and drink.
Lovely green space to walk around, it also borders (or maybe incorporates) the botanical gardens. Really nice lace
Nice park, we spent more than 2 hours relaxing near the pound.
The park I visited today was a wonderful place that offered the tranquility of nature and an escape from the stress of city life. With its expansive green spaces, colorful flowers, and serene pond, it felt like a slice of paradise. Walking along the park's trails while listening to the chirping of birds truly refreshed my spirit. This park, where people of all ages can enjoy themselves, is one of the most beautiful spots in the city.

In contrast to the adjacent city cemetery, this place is a very open space, featuring mostly very large memorials. The main memorial is a group of stylised concrete rifles converging above the Eternal Flame. The plaza is flanked on one side by a group of imposing red bas reliefs. There are some stray dogs who live here, but they seem harmless.
A striking and solemn tribute to Moldova’s fallen soldiers, especially those from World War II. We took a taxi from our hotel and asked the driver to wait, expecting a brief visit — but the monument draws you in. The central structure, shaped like a five-pointed star with an eternal flame, is surrounded by dramatic sculptural elements and commemorative walls that add context to the wartime sacrifices. While there were no ceremonial guards during our visit, the site is clean, quiet, and respectfully maintained. It’s more than a photo stop — it’s a place to pause, reflect, and absorb a somber part of the city’s history.
A beautiful place built in the 20th century and it has a great history. If you want to understand the statues and symbols there, I think it is advisable to talk to a local guide from Chisinau in advance to help you understand the place and delve into its history.
The Eternity Memorial Complex is seriously one of the most powerful places in Chișinău. It's huge, but the design is what gets you. The central monument—five massive, stylized rifles converging into a pyramid—is a chillingly awesome sight that represents the five tough years of World War II. It's hard not to stop and stare. Standing near the Eternal Flame, you can genuinely feel the weight of history and the huge sacrifices made here. The whole area is super well-maintained—it's quiet, respectful, and a great place for reflection. If you can catch the changing of the guard ceremony, definitely do it; it's genuinely moving. This isn't just a quick photo stop; it's a must-see for understanding the city's spirit. Go in, walk around, and take a moment. You won't forget it.
The memorial in Chisinau is dedicated to soldiers who lost their lives during the wars. It is a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made. The site is maintained well, and it reflects Moldova’s commitment to honoring the memory of those who served. Chisinau # Chișinău # Moldova
The Eternity Memorial Chisinau is a memorial located in Chisinäu, Moldova capital. The memorial is located along Marshal Malinovsky Street. It is dedicated to Soviet soldiers who died in the Great Patriotic War. The monument was made on 1975 in honour of the Soviet soldiers. The central part of the memorial is a pyramid of five meter tall stone rifles. A 5-pointed star with an eternal flame in the center of the monument.
It's a lovely park and very quiet, perfect for mommies and their kids. It has a big green space for your dogs to run (but be sure to clean after them ) Very easy to get there by public trolley (9 or 13) can take them from the city center or you can walk. Amazing sunsets 😍
Great memorial with lots of history inside! Definitely a MUST. The only problem for me it is the lack of public restroom and that there are wild dogs inside and they are quite protective with their territory.

A terrific place to begin your walking tour of Chisinau. Along with this beautiful church is the park it sets in.
I've been coming here all my life, 30 years. There is a lot of power here. You can cleanse yourself if you come in.
Beautiful place in Chisinau The Nativity of Christ Cathedral in Chișinău is a jewel of classicist architecture dating back to 1836, a spiritual symbol of the city, and the most important Orthodox church in Moldova. Its monumental structure and beautiful interior create an admirable atmosphere, Entrance is free
Beautiful church in the center of the city. It has different style from Europian churchs, more gold and art on the walls. Nice to visit and see amazing architecture
Very nice ortodox church in the center of Chisinau. No dislikes. Like everything.
Built in 1836, it was the headquarters of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, but was bombed and badly damaged during the World War II. It was rebuilt in 1997 and restored in neo-classical style in Chisinau. The interior is decorated with beautiful frescoes.
Met two lovely Moldovans and we all went to church on Sunday was very special and met some lifetime friends. Go check the church out but be ready people are asking for money inside the church.
A must-stop when in Moldova. Great setting in park setting and central city where all main events occur.

Great place to see. Built in 1840, this 13-meter white stone arch with a clock commemorates the Russo-Turkish War.
Understated but classy arch with a nice clock near the Cathedral and a pretty park. Worth a visit but not a special trip to see it. Combine with the foreamentioned places and check out the railway carriages on the other side of the boulevard to learn about the departed peoples, a very sad story in itself.
The Triumphal Arch in Chișinău is a cool landmark right in the city center. It’s got a classic look and stands out with its white stone and the clock on top. Nice spot to snap a few photos, and it’s close to other sights too. Worth a quick stop if you’re exploring the area.
It is the most visited place in the Chişinău, located in the center of the city. In every season you will see around different decorations related to holy and traditional holidays, markets, exhibitions and concerts sometimes. There is a pretty park around and many pigeons next to cathedral. The Arch is not as big as you expect to be like in the big cities, I consider very important to mention 😺
One of the most beautiful and valuable monuments in Chisinau. Best place to take photos and content!
A great monument and one you can easily get up close to and admire in all its detail. There isn’t any signage to explain the history, which is a shame, but there’s plenty of other sights nearby to make it worth wandering to. They attempt to light it nicely in the evenings but in an understated way which goes well with the rest of the city. It’s one of the key landmarks and a must see for anyone’s first visit to the city or wanting good photo opportunities.
The thing had seen the time ) It's a well-worn piece and needs plastering. But overall - fine lookin' piece of architecture 🏛️
One of the best places in Chisinau, idk
