By the time we left, wait time was an hour. The Peppermill is iconic, so very popular. Portions are large and cooked properly. Service was excellent. The interior is dated and harsh visually but also allows for a private dinning feel. Menu is huge and all items are offered 24 hours. In both stays all the drinks were amazing, really recommend the chai smoothie, breakfast was great (biscuit & gravy is BOMB af) but the brunch food was a total miss. Shoutout to them for being compassionate, friendly and great service throughout. Overall I'd definitely visit for the breakfast menu and the drink, but not for brunch. Reservations book up pretty far out and unless you are an early bird I would recommend booking in advance. We made mid morning reservations but ended up waking up pretty early and going down for breakfast around 7:45 both mornings. The restaurant was pretty quiet at that time so they were able to seat us early. Service both morning was friendly and efficient with our food and coffee orders coming out pretty swiftly. We thoroughly enjoyed the yogurt granola parfait, açaí bowl and avocado toast, and they made me a perfect nonfat dry cappuccino. On our last morning we didn’t have time to dine in so I went down at 7am when they opened and was able to place a to go order. We only had one night in town and this was the right location for where we needed to be. The location of the hotel was very convenient, easy to get around and we had no issues there. We had to follow up twice with housekeeping and only one of the requests was met. We had to call for pillows because there were 2 queen size pillows on our King bed. We did get additional pillows from housekeeping within about an hour. Our next request for was a new comforter because ours was stained (pictures included) with what looked like blood. We called for this and we got an answer on the phone, but no comforter was ever dropped off. There was dust on everything, the room was beat up, there were holes in the sheets and missing buttons on chairs, rust on the ceiling and it was just generally a room that looked like it did not get any attention or cleaning. I also reached out to the Cromwell with my questions and complaints to their Support with photos and did not receive a response. This location is not worth the money you think you may be saving (plus resort fees and parking which I know are standard).

We ordered the gnocchi with chicken and some truffle fries. The truffle fries came out before the pasta and when the pasta/chicken was delivered 10 minutes later the chicken was still raw. I’d usually get over the slow greet and probably would have given them a 2nd chance and try on a normal day. But I can never come back from the chicken ick, I just cant. The problem was that it was sliced, put on the dish and delivered to the table where no one was like… oh this is raw? Then the server just kept saying “ya know I didn’t cook it”. No manager visited the table. It was just an overall disappointing time there when we had happy expectations.

这个宾馆的被子是两层单子中间加一层被芯，睡到一半全都乱了，里面没洗的被芯漏出来泛黄并且有红色的污渍。打电话给客房服务态度很差，并且让住客自己铺被套。

Our server was very personable and worked well with us. The deviled egg appetizer came out pretty quickly. Wifey was raving over them and encouraged me to take a bite.  I tasted half of a deviled egg with some kind of special hot sauce on it, and it didn’t taste or smell “eggy”, it was delicious. I don’t even like deviled eggs, but these were great.  Our main dishes came out soon after, and we started digging in. My fried chicken was seasoned well, and the meat was juicy. The collard greens needed a little something, maybe a  little vinegar(always my preference), a little more seasoning, and a bit more cooking time to become more tender, but overall, my food was very, very good.  Wifey commented that the shrimps in her dish were a nice size, very fresh, and she loved it. I saw a cornbread skillet go to another table, and it also looked delicious. I’ll have to order that the next time we visit.  There was a little delay in wrapping up the check; we had to find our server to close it out, but it didn’t spoil our overall experience. He was very apologetic about the slow pickup and closed out things quickly.  I’ve had this place on my list for a while, but for whatever reason, I never made it here.
