This is one of the oldest buildings in Halifax, and has some amazing ties to historical events. One of the original stained glass windows remains in the church — see if you can find it. The rest were blown out during the Halifax explosion. As you enter the church look up and you'll see a piece of steel that ended up embedded in the church wall. There are two grave markings that date back to the 1770s. This cathedral / church is unique in that it has a pew at the front that is dedicated to the royal family, should they come to visit. Lastly there's some photos at the back of the church as you enter and scans of a pamphlet for a service held for the victims of the titanic. Go check it out!

I am new to Halifax from Toronto and is trying to find a new church to worship so I visited this church, the name stood out to me. I was welcomed nicely by the greeters, I believe a deacon interacted with me and walked with me to the main door. I felt comfortable, I was early, I got there immediately for the start of worship. It is not my desire to give a bad review cause the presence of the lord dwells here and how can I offer bad critic to wherever God dwells? But I do have some points. I loved the message, it wasn’t as vibrant like I’m use to but more of a teaching and interactive session about the oneness of Jesus and the in filling of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:38, I knew I was in the right place when these points were made. I must say though that there is a lot of work that is needed to be done where the Praise and Worship and Music department is concerned. I was appalled at the approach towards praise and worship in today’s age. There was little to no interaction with the congregation for the entire ministry, no harmony at all and the songs couldn’t get anymore ”hillsong” in sound even if they tried. There doesn’t seem to be a choir. The drum set is electrical and serves best for studio purposes. I am suggesting changing your drums and also have a bass player. The church had a lot of diversity in members and many minorities but the general sound and manner in the way things are done reflects only the way of those in leadership. Will i visit again? Yes I will, it’s God’s house and the saints seems amazing. I only mentioned these things because I have a passion about these aspects of ministry. It is one of the areas I’ve served in for my entire life being in the kingdom of God, ( singing, praise and worship, choir). A lot of people are moving to Halifax that are of an Apostolic Pentecostal background and I think this review will help both the church to be a little more cultured and for those searching for a church to have an idea of what to expect. I also follow your online platforms. Please go and worship with one church , they will certainly help keep your soul saved and where the spirit of the lord dwells, there is liberty.
