Spirit Spa was a wonderful experience. From the moment you walk in, the hostess greets you and offers to take your coat, you are escorted to a beautiful seating area where there is coffee/tea served to you (hello, full service). The best part though, is sitting in the chair of a brilliant stylist, “Manny”. Might I add, I love in Toronto and had my hair done here because he was available. Manny is greatly skilled at colour and styling, he listens to what your wishes are. He will gently guide you through the process all awhile acting as your therapist too (sorry Manny). His kind, warm and spiritual nature immediately puts you at ease and you know you’re in good hands. Every visit I have (mostly Toronto) I walk out feeling more refreshed and beautiful as ever. I would highly recommend Manny for your next pamper day! He’s always booked up so squeeze yourself in there to hold your spot! See you real soon!!

hey guys ! little rant here . so first the good, clean entry, easy to find and very friendly people . . now let’s start w downside. i very well might have just had a set preconceived idea but still overall i was dissatisfied. at the beginning there's a whole sheet i had to fill out about medical history and body trauma, doing this i expected to have a thorough consultation and then an hour massage, well i was wrong i suppose. the "hour" massage was the whole time i had with the masseuse so me being unaware of that i was extremely disappointed by the service . half the appointment i was being consulted and then the masseuse left in the room for TEN minutes, ten minutes i sat waiting for him to come back after i changed, unknowingly that he was wasting my “massage” time . so i don't know as a stylist it really pissed me off . . we proactively book time for consultation and the service so the client get exactly what they’re expecting . if they book an hour facial they get a facial FOR A FULL HOUR . i got maybe 20 minutes of just pushing on my body, not to mention the masseuse was inconsistent and sighing as if he didn't want to do it at all . i was so confused by what was happening i genuinely almost just asked him to stop . however when he did stop he just abruptly stood up and told me to get ready to go. i was dumbfounded and felt robbed of my money ! i don’t know man i just wanted a professionally done massage . . and it was nor professional or a massage . . not pleased and wouldn't recommend to any others . .

I’ve been a Massage Addict member since 2023, originally at the Clayton Park location, and recently transferred my membership to the Cathedral location.
I had my second session here yesterday, and honestly, I left feeling really disappointed. I clearly explained that my main issues are neck and shoulder pain from working at a desk all day, but the therapist didn’t focus on those areas at all. It’s been tough finding the right therapist at this location.
I’ve never had issues like this at other locations, but here, it’s been challenging. At this point, I’m seriously thinking about canceling my membership and finding a better option.

When we tried to decline the service we were told there was no refund. I had a visitor who booked an appointment and could not proceed with the booking, asked to reschedule but they were rude and asked to pay the fee in the worst way possible. We do not mind the idea of the fee but they are very rude and would be probably nice if you asked them not to smoke while on the job (the smell was obvious)
It would be nice if you hired staff that knows how to address people in such situations.

I recently visited Massage Experts with my wife, and it was the worst decision we've made. The service was terrible from start to finish. Despite both of us having different insurance companies, they refused to use our insurance cards for direct payment, causing unnecessary hassle and stress.
The massage itself was far from relaxing. The therapists seemed inexperienced, and the overall atmosphere was anything but soothing. We left feeling more tense than when we arrived.
I strongly advise against going to Massage Experts. Save your time and money and choose another massage business that values its customers and provides a truly relaxing experience.

I came back a week later with a neck pain that I got after a different massage therapist in Bedford. The pain was so strong that it was difficult for me to work at my desk in the office. Cecelia massaged my neck and again the result was amazing! I feel a lot better - the pain is gone but I still try to be careful with my neck. But it's night and day! She basically saved me!

We are here on business visiting from BC and I booked an appointment a couple weeks in advance to relax after a long flight. Nicole was absolutely amazing and super friendly. I ended up booking another appointment for the next day. Urban Retreat is very clean, quiet, comfy beds, great location and the hot towel, hot stones and Indian head massage were to die for. I must admit that Urban Retreat is my clinic of choice in Downtown Halifax. As soon as you enter their massage room, you know you're in for a good treat. I love that the room is dark and solely illuminated by lamps, setting up a very relaxing atmosphere. They also have heated pads for the bed which you can choose to be turned on or not. Towards the end of the massage, you also get to select which essential oil you want to have rubbed close to your head. With that, I've always loved eucalyptus. In conclusion, their service has always been reliable and consistent on top of the already soothing ambiance you experience the moment you arrive.

My 2nd visit today. The first visit I asked if the music could be turned up to try and drown out the constant laughter and chatting from the staff. The massage therapist did kindly ask them to stop loudly chatting and it was quiet for the rest of my visit.
I decided to give one more chance and today the same thing. Constant doors opening and closing, laughter and chatting from outside the door. It's impossible to relax and enjoy a massage with this kind of background noise.
Tara the masseuse is fantastic and accurately finds my pain points and relieves them which is so huge but I don't know if it's enough for me to go back again a 3rd time. I'm really disappointed as I'm longing to find a clinic that ticks all the boxes.

Often when posting a Google review I am very careful to not be hyperbolic in my wording as it can be a digital problem but I am not joking when I say that Steven Keefe's professionalism, advocacy and support during a lengthy WCB adjudication process to rehab a serious sprain in my right knee has dramatically changed my overall health in a matter of 6 months. Steve's holistic approach, friendly demeanour and fierce commitment to seeing his patients' improve, included easy to explain exercises I could do at home and regularly throughout my day. Steve is by far the most approachable, knowledgeable and helpful physiotherapist that I have ever dealt with. He makes you feel very comfortable, keeps you informed, pushes you, but not too far. At this location they also have the most amazing massage therapist I have ever had. Jean is amazing! The most down to earth, patient and kind person! I’ve booked a 60 minutes session for me and my partner as a christmas gift, since we have never went to get a massage. I spoke to Kelly on the phone to book both appointments and she was just the greatest! Made sure we were going to be welcomed and comfortable. I had a great experience with Elizabeth! Her pressure was perfect, she checked in on my comfort level and it’s clear that she has a lot of knowledge and familiarity in the structures of the body.
I came in with an acute muscle strain that was causing me pain and affecting my everyday life as well as facet irritation which was making it difficult to check my blind spot while driving. I left with minimal residual pain and the following day I had no muscle soreness.

It was our first time here and the experience was good. The hot tub and the cold plunge pools were quiet clean. I could see them cleaning it in good intervals. The hammam was my favourite part. The venue is small but well situated and not overcrowded. The fall colors were impressive. We enjoyed a relaxation massage in one of their pods. Only downsize is they don’t offer couple massages.
Although they had plenty of outdoor fire pits- none of them were lit, despite a cool day.

What a fantastic way to unwind from a busy life! It was a beautiful day and we spent it slowly going from area to area. Mud facials and salt scrubs were my favorite! We rented the bath rope for $10, love how it has a hoodie and how nice and warm it is.
Towels are nice too.
Basically don’t need to bring anything besides slippers. They even provide plastic bags for wet bath suits.
Place is clean and in great condition. Everyone is quiet, you can relax in the sounds of bird and someplace has relaxing music.
They provide flavored water at the relaxing area and the big sauna.

First stay at resort. Beautiful location, staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Room - we had Rhubarb room #2 which is over the kitchen end of the restaurant so we knew when booking that it would be noisier so just be aware that it is - the hours of operation are 11:30 to 8 however they need to prep in the morning so they are there early at 6:30-7 am so no sleeping in unless you have ear plugs this is not a criticism just an awareness. We were good with it as we got up early to get about our day. The view from the deck on our room was spectacular and a great place to sit as long as the weather is good. Bed was comfortable, room is small but again that is ok. The room does not have a chair to sit in which I did make the suggestion to add even a couple of good folding chairs in the closet that could be used. The shower was heavily impacted by the kitchen as well which I also let the resort know about. Overall the room was fine it could just be better with a couple of little tweaks.
The common areas are lovely and allow you to enjoy different areas of the resort.
The breakfast is bar none the best included breakfast we have had. It is a buffet style, but they take the extra step to make your eggs and bagels fresh to order. The breakfast staff were very welcoming.
We would recommend a stay at this resort and we will return.

We were here for a family function and stayed two nights. Location is beautiful minutes away from Peggy’s Cove and the lighthouse. The resort is in a beautiful setting and our cousins had a private cottage on the water with an amazing view. We all gathered there at night for both nights and had an amazing time now we know what it’s like to have an Oceanside cottage. Our accommodations were up the hill on top of the restaurant, and we’re not quite as nice. When making a reservation, make sure you inquire as to what the room is like. They included breakfast was amazing. Cooked order waffles and eggs were great, especially the scrambled eggs. Note that if you want to do the sauna and Jacuzzi in the outdoor area, at the time I write this, it was an $85 per person extra charge.

We spent three nights here to celebrate our daughter’s wedding at the end of September. It was perfect! The captains house was great for five of us to stay and host a couple of small gatherings. The huge deck was wonderful for meals and relaxing, with spectacular views.
The food at the wedding was delicious.
Without exception, every single staff member was wonderful. Don’t want to include any names because I’d miss some, but the staff was friendly, helpful and quick to respond to requests.
Those who had a spa day after the wedding really enjoyed it too.
The whole wedding trip was a joy, and we heard the same from friends and family who attended.

The Ocean Vista was a large and comfortable private room, at the top of small building. A good sized kitchenette with the pots, pans and utensils for practical use. I am originally from Nova Scotia but living in landlocked Alberta. My daughter and I came home to visit my mother in palliative care and I knew I would need some ocean therapy and quiet reflection before heading back so booked the Crow's Nest cottage right at the ocean for two nights. I cried at the view and was so happy to have our own private seating area on the beach. The spa was amazing, I fell asleep so many times during the massages. I didn't want it to end. I walked out of there is such a content daze that I forgot my jewelry in the robe. I slept with the windows open to listen to the waves and slept like a baby both nights. It was unreasonably warm for October! I cried when I had to leave. The hospitality was unreal, staff went above and beyond every single time I interacted with them. I highly recommend Oceanstone when you need to recharge and decompress.

Staying in Rhubarb room #1 currently, and due to the connected deck another guest came by and peered at me while changing into a dress— seeing me basically naked. The man put his face right up to the glass and peered into my room. I felt completely violated and unsafe.
I want to emphasize that staff in the main lodge were incredibly compassionate and understanding, I believe her name was Jen. She worked very hard to find us an alternative room, and she offered us a room without a balcony when one came up. I just want to vouch for how nice and supportive the staff were about this incident which was entirely out of their control. They even offered to waive any fee to switch rooms on short notice.
However I still feel it’s necessary to put this out publicly that women, children and other vulnerable individuals should keep the blinds drawn if you’re staying above Rhubarb. Do not expect other guests to respect your privacy and remain in their respective area on the deck balcony.

The injury and recovery path was very daunting at first, but Kennedy helped make the process as smooth as possible. I was hit by a car in 2020 and have seen many physio therapists since then for multiple injuries. My shoulder injury was lingering after several years. I was waking up every morning with shoulder pain and feeling restrictions and pain regularly. I did the "Head in the Clouds" facial upper body massage and it was unbelievable. Mia was my RMT and she did such a great job getting the massive knots out of my shoulder. The first few times I went They had the ac running, then the one appointment I went to the ac was not working but a fan was offered in the treatment room. The last time I went I was told they dont run the ac due to cost and it being so cold with it on. I found it very humid and uncomfortable the last two massages with no ac. I wouldn't recommend going during the summer months.
No parking is a downside, having to park on the street or in nearby parking lots.
I've been to appointments for massage. The massage therapist was amazing! Did an amazing job with the breath work, massage, face mask etc. Making me feel comfortable and so relaxed. She deserves 5/5, stars.
I tried another massage therapist for the same massage and it was disappointing. Was not as relaxing and was not as in depth. Did not offer the hair massage which is optional in the package.
Felt more like she wanted to talk then focus on the massage, Also felt uncomfortable with the conversation when abortions were brought up. Wouldn't recommend discussing that topic with a pregnant client.

I had a few hours to kill before a late flight and booked a massage and 1 hour thermal circuit. It was just what I needed. The massage by Diane was incredible - she took a really intuitive approach and just went where she needed to go which I loved. It felt very organic. The thermal circuit is very small and intimate but it was perfect for what I needed. However, know that it isn't a big Nordic spa with multiple hot/cold pools. It's one cold pool, one warm pool, and two saunas, plus rest areas. They also have salt scrubs and a mud mask which were fantastic. It is quaint, clean and very relaxing. I made an evening out of it and took the ferry over from dt Halifax as it's right beside the dock and got sushi afterwards. Would def come back!
Would only be better if they had a few more things in the change room for after like hair brush, face cream ect which some larger spas include.

I had a wonderful experience getting my first Therapeutic Lymphatic massage with Kayla. Shes incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate about her profession and treating offerings. I often find myself feeling nervous prior to working with new practitioners, but she made a point to explain the treatment process in detail which really helped me settle into the treatment. Her touch is gentle yet deeply intuitive. In less than 24 hours my water retention had gone down significantly, and I felt as if a weight had been lifted from not only my body but my mind. Sadly, this place has gone way downhill. I got the most mid massage of my life here. It also just seems too crowded now. The last time I went was the real deal breaker for me. Three of us went there yesterday, two friends for manicures and myself for a pedicure, to celebrate my friend‘s 60th birthday. We all loved it but I can only describe my experience. I have had many great and a few not so great pedicures in various places (I live in Germany). I can honestly say that the Interlude Spa has the most comfortable pedicure chairs I have ever been in. They are zero gravity chairs (at least I think that‘s what they‘re called) and so comfy that I may have snored at one point in time. I want one for home! My pedicure was done by Shelly. I have a few tricky spots that can cause me pain but she was careful but very thorough and there were no issues, only relaxation. This might be one of my favorite places in Halifax. I stumbled upon it when my RMT Nathan MacDonald started working here. More on him in a sec. The staff have been so amazing to deal with, they have such wonderful aura about them, that has you instantly feeling welcome. I havent had the chance to partake in the vast amount of services they offer but I can tell ya one thing real quick. All the customers I've seen have looked like they were being well taken care of. This place is frigging bougie buds! If you need a new RMT, Nathan is your guy, like frig is this dude ever gifted, I'm telling ya! My back and neck are super messed up, his magic has kept me going the last couple years now. Im sure the rest of the RMTs are pretty decent too! My kids each had an appointment and said their experiences were really good.

Our first experience with Osteo and we were uncertain what to expect. However the knowledge shared and results were beyond exceptional. My daughter ( 16) left pain free , with exercises, advice and an understanding of what was causing her pain. Her treatment was provided in an extremely professional and respectful manner by Dr Shahbaz. First of all, I arrived on time for the 12pm appointment and I was given multiple pages to fill out and after page one was done I realized that I had already done this work online, but the receptionist hadn’t checked. She didn’t know but said she was going to check. Five minutes later - at 12.20 - there was still no response from the receptionist and no one showed up for my 12pm appointment; angry and claustrophobic I left saying to the receptionist that I was not happy. To make matters worse I had a massage appointment elsewhere that I had to cancel so I could attend the appointment with the no-show physiotherapist.

Went into see an OT today. They were very patient and listened to my long, complicated, and sometimes convoluted story. Asked some really insightful and relevant questions for further clarification about my situation and how I got to where I am. Explained the servicers they could provide in a clear and concise manner. Answered all my questions in a way that was easy to understand, outlined how we could work together and what that would entail for future sessions. I could also tell they read my file (in which there was an intake form I filled out providing a lot of details and history) in advance which I always appreciate and demonstrates high professional practice standards. They were empathetic and understanding and did not appear to be judgmental at all (all of which are qualities that I find extremely important when collaborating with a healthcare professional). It was also noted that consults could be preformed virtually if more convenient which is very much apricated as an option. I look forward to future session working with them. The location was very clean and organized and looked accessible to anyone who might have mobility issues. The administrative staff were also kind and welcoming. A very pleasant experience overall.

Great atmosphere: clinical but still very comfortable, which I love. I always feel at ease going to my appointments and know that I’m going to be well cared for.
I’ve been a regular client of Shayna for a long time now, and followed her from her last clinic. She is superb and gives the best treatment and pressure. I leave her treatment room always a million times better than when I walked in. Not only does she perform an excellent service she is also just a spectacular person as well. She is genuinely just so sweet and amazing.
I’ve had such great experiences with Shayna I decided to try out some other services in the clinic as well, since I have the insurance! Why not right?! I must say I was not disappointed with Dr. Erin and the acupuncture I received. She listened to my concerns and customized my treatment and I felt amazing afterward! The relief in the tension in my jaw alone was so baffling! I’ve had acupuncture done in a small scale before but this was a lot more thorough and targeted and it was quite nice to just lay back and relax and let the acupuncture work it’s thing for longer than just a few minutes at my chiropractor! She was very gentle and I was very at ease through the whole process and overall just very kind. Had lovely little chats but also was able to just lay back and relax which was so lovely as I have a very social career.
I highly recommend Shayna and Dr. Erin! I honestly could go on and on about how lovely they both are! Do yourself a favour and treat yourself!

I was torn about writing this review because it feels like the best kept secret in Halifax. I've worked with many of the practitioners here and so far they've all been top notch. From massage therapy to physio, the staff are kind, considerate and professional. Katy is a magician with the super power of finding knots you didn't know you had and working them through. Kathleen has been like a zen Master for physio, identifying and working with me on problem areas to improve strength and reduce recovery time. The simple exercises she has prescribed have helped me hit PRs in the 5k, 10k and half marathon distances. I easily feel 10 years younger. Lastly, the online booking process is convenient, payments and receipts are digital, and once I set up my benefits it's been as easy as I could imagine. Affordable, professional, and effective. I cannot say enough good things about Brittany Klingmann!! I noticed myself holding back on heavier lifts because of a SERIOUS issue with bladder leakage. A physiotherapist friend actually recommended her for her pelvic floor expertise, and after putting it off for months (due to doubt and a little bit of anxiety) I finally booked an appointment.
Brittany was kind, empathetic and so easy to work with. She took the time to understand my goals and limitations, was methodical and thorough in her assessment and truly helped me to understand my body. I immediately saw results after the first appointment and have continued to improve my lifts and confidence in the gym.
Brittany has been essential in my progression as an athlete and continues to help me through various orthopedic issues in addition to my pelvic floor work. I know that if I'm having any new pain, tension, tightness etc I can book an appointment with her and have the issue quickly pinpointed and an effective plan put in place to improve it.
I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone, but especially female athletes who struggle with pelvic floor issues, CrossFit or weight lifting athletes and pretty much any athlete in general. She's incredible, you won't be disappointed!!

I had a gift card so I was sort of backed into a corner to try something new. Tried to book 3 times, their online service is really not user friendly if you’re not a regular. I called to ask for help with booking and the receptionist kind of blew me off and gave me a half hearted explanation. I called back weeks later to try again and got the voicemail with no call back. Finally called and got through to someone and booked.
The pedicure itself was great. Michelle C. was wonderful and we chatted like old friends it was a nice way to spend an evening!
The service was more expensive than anywhere I’d been before.
The polish chipped with it a few days, which was disappointing for a 90$ pedicure.
Edit: Jenny, the owner, reached out to me to offer a redo. I went in, the polish has lasted more than a week now with no signs of chipping etc. Michelle was amazing, as she was my first time around. I’ll definitely give them another shot, and we’ll see how booking goes next time :) thanks Jenny!

Sophie did really excellent work. I came in for a massage to manage leg, hip and lower back pain. She did an excellent job with the massage, helped relieve the pain and was incredibly knowledgeable. As a member of the RCN with a respectable amount of sea time, I’ve had dozens of massages all around the Atlantic Ocean; up and down the eastern seaboard, Mexico, many Caribbean islands, Africa, Europe and even Greenland. I thought I knew what a good massage was and that was directionally proportional to the ‘no pain no gain’ mentality.
Registered Massage Therapist Amandine Quoilin completely changed my understanding of what a quality massage can be. I had the fortune of being assigned Amandine while she was employed with Spirt Spa; this location was close to where I worked, and I was still living with my narrow mindset of a worthwhile massage. After my first meeting with this intelligent, disarming, professional I knew I would be coming back. Taking the time to inquire about my experience and expectations, she politely informed me that a painful massage (or forceful) is not as productive for the body as I suspected it to be.
I now constantly see Amandine at Stil Space (or wherever she decides to work) so she may apply her intuition and delicate sense of touch to run down all knotted, twisted and sore muscle fibers/nerves throughout the targeted area. The benefit of these treatments is the complete absence of pain and life improving flexibility/relief afterwards.

As a massage therapist with 5 years of experience and now a university student who spends long hours at a desk, I’ve been dealing with chronic jaw, neck, shoulder, and low back pain. I went to see Andy Myles, RMT, to address a persistent headache caused by clenching my teeth, and I am so thankful for his treatment today.
Andy’s inter-oral TMJ therapy, combined with his work on my neck, shoulders, lats, and pectoral muscles, was truly exceptional. If you’ve ever been curious about inter-oral treatment for jaw pain or headaches but have hesitated to try it, I highly recommend seeing Andy. After chatting with Andy at the Halifax Health Show about my issues with TMJ, I booked an appointment with him. He did a very thorough consultation with me as well as a treatment on my first visit. My jaw had been feeling out of line for a while and it was very painful to have my mouth open for long periods of time (discovered while in my dental hygienist’s chair). After one treatment with Andy my jaw felt 75% better! We have continued to work on it, as well as plantar fasciitis. I love that Andy’s approach is not aggressive, but very effective. If my insurance allowed it, I would be there once a week! Do yourself a favour and book with Andy. He is very personable and approachable and most importantly, very skilled at his profession!

Unfortunately my entire experience with Total Kneads has been exceptionally unprofessional. Barely 8 hours before my appointment my masseuse emailed me from their personal email saying they need to cancel and offered me one time slot 2 days away.
When I informed them I couldn't make that time slot and offered an alternative day, instead of trying to work with me they fully cancelled my appointment with barely so much as an apology.
I already attempted to call them at two different times during the day to resolve this, but both times their phone rang until it sent me to voicemail.
As a client, if I were to act this way, I would be charged a minimum of $45+tax. I would not recommend Total Kneads to anyone.

Having scoliosis as well as having suffered concussions and nerve damage, I was surprised to see the effects over the course of a small number of treatments. Genie Bright - thorough and effective therapist. I have had a chronic, recurring shoulder problem (painful) for more than a decade and no treatment has ever produced long term results until I received Matrix Repatterning treatments from Genie Bright. Osteopathy and massage therapy from therapists had produced some short term relief, but now, thanks to Genie's Matrix work, my problem is completely gone (and it has been nearly a year now). This type of treatment requires a number of sessions, so don't necessarily expect a miracle on the first few visits. I have been struggling with a frozen shoulder for over 1.5 years. I’ve been doing physiotherapy religiously and had injections done twice into my shoulder and joint. But like ‘some’ frozen shoulders my progress plateaued. I was told by my physio, for some frozen shoulder’s recovery time can take years to heal.
Frustrated and looking for solutions I began researching Matrix Repatterning which I had heard about by a friend. Sceptical and cautious, I watched a few videos and read on what exactly this was it seemed to make sense and I had nothing to lose.
I began seeing Genie Bright for Matrix Repatterning in March 2021, after just the first visit I could feel a difference in pain level and range of motion.
When I began my arm couldn’t lift past 75 degrees (not even shoulder height) and my external rotation was around 10 degrees. In practical terms I couldn’t raise my arm to shave my armpit, reach forward in the car to adjust the radio, reach to my bedside table to put my glasses down and getting my bra on and off without assistance, pain and/or restriction.
After 5 sessions I am blown away and VERY happy with the results. I can now do all of the above with minimal discomfort. I still have a way to go but the jump in improvement is mind blowing to me after being stuck at a certain level for so long.

I had a wonderful experience with the Abhyanga and Svedana Steam Bath combination. The atmosphere is very calming with soft relaxation music and nature sounds in the background. There is no talking during treatment (other then requesting you to turn over) which I found allowed me to get deeply relaxed and not have to worry about holding a conversation.
